The aim of my experiment was to figure out how different chemicals affect surface
tension. I chose this experiment because I have always wondered how a drop of
water stays together as it falls through the air. My independent variable was the
different chemicals used. My dependant variable was which liquid stayed on the
penny best. The control in this experiment was pure water. My hypothesis was; if
water mixed with salt and water mixed with detergent is tested, then detergent will
cause the surface tensionto weaken the most. By definition, Surface tension is the
property of the surface of a liquid that allows it to resist an external force, due to
the cohesive nature of its molecules (USGS). Molecules in a drop of water cling to
each other. This is why they can stay together as they fall through the air (Wick 9).
In addition, water molecules at the surface of a liquid form stronger bonds
(USGS). This is because they have no adjacent molecules on top of them so they
exert more powerful forces to molecules on and below the surface of a liquid
(USGS). For example, water striders can glide on the surface of water because their
mass is not strong enough to break the surface tension (USGS). The dependent

Strategys Against Cancer
Cancer is one of the main leading causes of deaths worldwide. The reason for this is
due to the poor results of the conventional chemotherapy. The primary cause of this
is owing to the lack of selectivity of these drugs. Low molecular weight drugs can
enter all types of cells by random diffusion, hence they not only attack tumorcells but
they also attack healthy cells with the same potency resulting in severe toxicity.
Hence, scientists need to develop strategies to selectively target drugs to tumor cells,
to prevent the toxic side effects. One of the most effective strategies to overcome this
problem is to exploit the anatomical and pathophysiological abnormalities of tumor
tissues such as the enhanced permeation and retention (EPR) effect for anticancer
drug delivery. EPR effect is basically the gradual accumulation and retention of
certain size molecules (such as nanoparticles, liposomes and macromolecular drugs)
in tumor tissues.

When tumor cells proliferate and reach the size of 2mm3, the cells go into a state of
hypoxia as the current vasculature fails to provide sufficient oxygen supply. As a
result of this, cells start to die and secrete various growth factors that cause the
formation of new blood vessels from the existing ones. This process is known as
angiogenesis. The new blood vessels formed are irregular in shape and are defective.
They have discontinuous epithelium with large fenestrations ranging from 200 2000

Rainsford and Katniss live in. In the book A Most Dangerous Game the character
Rainsford finds himself on an island where a man named General Zaroff hunts him
and many more before him, for sport. In the movie The Hunger Games Katniss
Everdeen lives in a world where people are split up into twelve different districts.
The government takes two people, a boy and a girl, from each district and throws
them into an arena to fight to the death. Rainsford and Katniss both possess the
skills and traits of a true survivor. These skills and traits are using intelligence over
strength, showing compassion to others, and triumphing over those who only use
strength. The first trait of a true survivor that Rainsford and Katniss both possess is
that they both choose intelligence over strength in order to win their game . This
is proved by Rainsford and Katniss when rainsford eludes General Zaroff, when

food supply, many experts in the academic and scientific community are justifiably
skeptical on whether such expansion would actually benefit humans. Ioulia Fenton,

Developmental Studies in Bolivia, is certainly one of many skeptics who are worried

potential profits to be made from agriculture (Margulis 61). Margulis, as an
employee of the World Bank, is responsible for helping his organization determine
the most effective and efficient method to invest capital in an effort to reduce
poverty, and therefore, he has a strong incentive to find accurate economic figures in

the genetic makeup of living things. Another key point presented in your article is the
idea of cloning, where one is therapeutic while the other is reproductive. The article
discussed that the advancement in technology and genetics should only be used to
benefit people. However, you believed that using these advancements in the wrong
way can leave a long term consequence to the present and future of the human society.

our society. I believe the idea of genetic engineering is not natural. We have no idea of
the harm that could result from this technology. Genetic engineering is another step
