The Constitution Act Of 1982
The Constitution Act of 1982, or more commonly known as, The Charter of Rights and Freedoms,
constitutionally entrenched fundamental civil liberties, which have protected Canadians from both
federal and provincial legislative imposition. Since the Charter s inception, however, Canada s
judiciary has been placed under great criticism and scrutiny due to the fact that the courts were
believed to have been given legislative powers that rivaled both the federal and provincial legislatures.
Through Judicial Review, the Supreme Court of Canada was given the task to interpret the charter
since that wording of the legal document itself was vague enough to warrant interpretation, and hence,
gave critics a reason to believe that supreme court justices have been the power to legislate without
any political or public recourse. Unfortunately, as a result of these criticisms, various public notions,
such as appointed and not duly elected Supreme Court justices with the ability to legislate, became the
main focus in questioning whether the supreme court s institutional functions were legitimate, and in
tandem with the principles of a free and democratic society.
Given, the misconceptions regarding the Canadian judiciary by both critics and the public alike, the
purpose of this research is to investigate the functions, and criticisms surrounding the Canadian
judiciary. The result of this investigation will provide a clear and informative argument that, Canada s
judiciary did not seize

What Is Weakness Analysis And Mitigation
4.0 Weakness analysis and mitigation
First, the company s products need further marketing in order to increase its popularity. As is known to
all, the current economic development is highly influenced by Internet technology. More and more
companies nowadays choose to establish their e commerce model to expand market and reduce
business cost. In particular, technological advancements such as social media and information
technology are increasingly utilized in business marketing strategies. But the company does not yet
have relevant channels; its official website is mainly about corporate and product introduction. It is
suggested that the company may establish its own electronic booking system and digital payment in its
online shops, make use of online distribution channels to save cost, and apply smartphone apps to
increase its interaction with customers. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is known that Singaporeans have quite high expectations about tea products (Tay, 2017). Demanding
consumers often tend to change their preference: they want new and fresh tastes. Therefore, the
company should develop more innovative products in order to maximize consumer reach. In addition,
while tea products remain as the main product, the company may develop tea related products and
services so as to diversify its revenue production and thus decrease its business risks. For example, the
company may develop resort and tourism programs as it boasts such natural plantation environment.
Third, the company s current workforce structure is yet to be better prepared to its international
expansion. Human capital is a vital asset for businesses in the modern knowledge economy. When a
firm is able to recruit and retain the best talents, it is more likely to gain competiveness. Either
marketing or for financing, the company should now look more at the global talent pool.

The Importance of Developing Renewable Energy in Europe
In recent years, Europe has been faced with the problem of continuous urbanization and excessive
energy consumption, closing in on exhaustion of available energy resources. In view of this, the
notions of sustainability and resilience have become paramount in resource management and policy
making. Within such a context, renewable energies play a key role in the global energy pool. Amongst
these, wind energy production accounts for almost half (43%) of the global generating capacity [1].
Nonetheless, despite its obvious merits, the Big Wind industry comes with a number of potential
shortcomings largely relating to the short life span of these components and the lack of efficient
operation and maintenance (Ο Μ) planning schemes. The latter ... Show more content on

Problem specific, cost benefit analyses have not been conducted in detail, in order to provide
significant indications that the benefits of SHM systems outweigh their cost. In this respect, one
should mind that stakeholders, managers and infrastructure operators need simple and reliable tools in
the form of yes/no actions , or green/red buttons . Unavoidably, this implies that SHM systems should
be transformed from complex research oriented measurement campaigns into robust, integrated
solutions that accompany the structure throughout its life cycle. Our goal is to address the
aforementioned bottlenecks, maximizing the return on investment for such facilities by extending the
useable lifetime through a smart monitoring implementation. In a nutshell, the proposed project has
the following main objectives: 1. We will propose a new monitoring paradigm for WT facilities which
features optimal sensor placement, i.e., minimally used instrumentation for extraction of the necessary
amount of key response quantities in an effort to track these systems from cradle to grave. 2. Based on
this sensory feedback and data collection, we will develop data processing methodologies relying on
SHM, for the extraction of metrics for LCA both in the short term (damage, anomalies and extreme
events detection) and in the long term (deterioration, fatigue and defective

Cholera In Haiti Research Paper
Cholera in Haiti
In 2010, Haiti faced with two major disasters: a devastating earthquake in January and an
unprecedented cholera epidemic starting in fall. Although there was a cholera epidemic in Latin
America in the 1990s, Haiti never confronted such a health issue in its history. According to Walton,
Suri, and Farmer (2011), cholera is part of a vicious cycle of poverty, poor sanitation, water
contamination, and weak health system. However, it was not totally surprising that the poorest country
in the western hemisphere was hit by a cholera epidemic especially after the earthquake worsened
socioeconomic conditions in Haiti. The cholera outbreak in Haiti raised environmental, human rights,

The House On Mango Street Women Essay
In the novella, The House on Mango Street, Esperanza tells stories of the many women, young and
old, she has met and learned about. Few of these women have been respected by the men in their lives.
Most of these men consider women things to possess. Some of these men have their reasons, though
inexcusable, for how they act. Very few are kind and considerate towards the ladies in their lives. The
men in this novella all have their own stories that are inexplicably intertwined to the suffering of
women. Investigating these stories shows that in Esperanza s world, men treat women like property,
and men treat women like they are to be used. One of the first men that pop up is Esperanza s great
grandfather in My Name . Esperanza shares ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Women have gender roles forced upon them that they are expected to fulfill, in the novella and in real
life, and most times the men in their lives help to push them directly into those expectations. These
men are under the belief that that is what women are meant for. The men do not treat women like they
should be treated. The men treat women with disrespect by taking control of their lives and shaping
those lives into how women are expected to be, and believe women belong to them. The men treat
women like objects to fulfill their own desires. The problems between genders in this novella are
becoming more addressed in today s society. Women are breaking standards set for them and men are
accepting it and encouraging it. Even so, the fact still remains that there are women who can t change
their life and men exist who still have such outdated beliefs about women. The House on Mango
Street is a great example how women are not to be treated by men. Hopefully, one day the world can
overcome expectations set for all genders and people can live happily without boxes to be forced

Definitions Of Leadership And Management
Definitions of leadership and management.
Although the interviews conducted were unstructured all three practitioners were asked for their
definition of leadership and management. It was thought that questions about leadership and
management could be interpreted in so many ways, whereas having their interpretation helped to
better understand where they were coming from. It was important to understand each individual
perception.
In the interviews conducted management was believed to generate responsibilities such as planning,
paperwork, day to day running and that health and safety is in place. Where as leadership was believed
to be more involved with what the children do, helping others perform their role, inspiring others. A
conversation with practitioner two, that was recorded in the field notes revealed staff not wanting to be
thought of as a manager, preconceived ideas of management made the role something they did not
want to aspire to. Authoritative was a word used. Practitioners stressed on their dislike for the term
managing ,
I don t like the idea of managing, I don t think I manage (Practitioner two).
As early years practitioners, the most important aspect of the job is working with the children.
Many complain of too much paper work that takes practitioners away from working with the children,
which most enjoy and a reason for their career choice in the first place. If practitioners link managerial
roles with paperwork, which most

The Secret Of The Vietnam War
Most Americans are aware of the Vietnam war, but have never heard of the Secret War in Laos. The
War in Laos was the first of it s kind; it was the CIA s first ever paramilitary operation during the Cold
War. My family is connected to the time period of the Cold War because my grandfather was sent to a
prison camp by the Communists after the US withdrew from Indochina. My family was affected by
the event because after escaping the camp and seeking refuge in Thailand, my grandfather immigrated
to the United States and most of our family is living here now. In the 19th century, France colonized
Indochina what is now known as Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia to exploit the environment for
economic gain, under the guise of wanting to spread ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Hmong are an ethnic group of people who live in the mountains of Laos. They were seen as
uncivilized barbarians by Laotians, Thai and Vietnamese people. The CIA hired them to become
soldiers in the Secret War, due to their strength, fighting spirit, and expert knowledge of the terrain. As
the war intensified, the US sent fighter bombers to assist Hmong ground forces against the Pathet Lao
(Lao Communist soldiers). According to Kurlantzick, by 1973 the US had conducted more than
580,000 bombing runs over Laos. In 1969 alone, writes Kurlantzick, the United States dropped more
bombs on Laos than it did on Japan during all of World War II. Yet, due to lax congressional oversight
and media ignorance the American people knew very little about any of this.
When the US withdrew in 1975, the Hmong rightly felt betrayed. They were left without support,
supplies, and nowhere to go. Most Hmong were hunted down by the Communists and thrown into
reeducation camps along with anyone else who resisted the new Communist government.
Immediately after the Communists took over, people were sent to what they called seminars or
reeducation camps . These camps were the centerpiece of the new regime s policy toward

Differences And Similarities Between Pulitzer And Joseph...
In America the President reigns for four years, and journalism governs for ever and ever. Oscar Wilde
never spoke truer words. The aforementioned ability to govern for ever and ever comes from
journalistic sensationalism, a craft perfected by newspaper owners and journalists Joseph Pulitzer and
William Randolph Hearst at the dawn of the twentieth century. Sensationalism counts for only one of
the numerous ties between the career rivals who, in an effort to distinguish themselves from each
other, ironically knotted themselves together in journalism history. Joseph Pulitzer emigrated to the
United States of America from Hungary at the age of seventeen and subsequently joined the Union
army of the U.S. Civil War. After the war, Carl ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Helped in large part by owning an established newspaper fresh out of college, Hearst worked his way
up the small portion of proverbial ladder Hearst had yet to climb in the journalism world by
purchasing The New York Morning Journal. Coincidentally, Hearst purchased The New York Morning
Journal from Pulitzer s soon to be estranged brother Albert (Therkelsen 7) and renamed the paper The
Journal ( William, Sidelights). Hearst s first took his first notorious step with his pilfering of all of
Pulitzer s editorial staff at the New York World, followed by Pulitzer s rehiring, and Hearst s second
theft of the same journalists (Contemporary, Joseph ). Pulitzer, as the originator of the colorful comics
section in newspapers, made sure to keep The Yellow Kid comic strip in the New York World
newspaper despite losing the original designer in Pulitzer s continuing battle with Hearst (Squires).
The fact that the battle went deep enough into the newspapers to affect the comics section helped
historians coin the term yellow journalism as an idiom for how Hearst and Pulitzer ran their respective
newspapers (Therkelsen 7). This immature feud between the two grown men may sound harmless, but
accusations surfaced suggesting this quarrel may have caused the Spanish American War. Without any
official word from government organizations, Hearst and Pulitzer both published unconfirmed

Pierre Trudeau s Actions And Decisions
The October Crisis that occurred in 1970 is quite a controversial topic, however, one can say that
prime minister, Pierre Trudeau handled it quite well. Trudeau s actions and decisions to resolve the
October Crisis were justified. His actions were validated by the FLQ s (Front de Libération du
Quebec) intellectual ideas and the immediate threat he dealt with. Trudeau made quick political
decisions to handle the calamity, however, the immediate crisis was impacting the cities across
Quebec. His actions were proven to be the best and most accurate actions, because the War Measures
Act was successful in eliminating the abrupt crisis. Pierre Elliot Trudeau was a man with good
intentions, and as prime minister he dealt with the October Crisis in a way that ensured the safety of
the province. Trudeau s character and decisions, validates his actions to resolve the crisis in 1970.
The FLQ had many intellectual ideas that forced Trudeau to make the necessary actions towards the
crisis. There were three intentions of the FLQ kidnappings of James Cross and Pierre Laporte. The
FLQ wanted to obtain the release of 23 FLQ members jailed for bombings and other violent offences.
The group wanted to cause confusion, fear and gain publicity and sympathy for their aims of having
Quebec become an independent state, and their third motive was to trigger insurrection and
capitulation. (Tetley, p. 39) These intentions of the FLQ caused harm and chaos to the government and

Hemophilia The definition of hemophilia is that it s a rare disease housed in the body. What happens is
the blood does not clot normally due to the fact it lacks the sufficient blood clotting proteins. Also,
when having this disorder of hemophilia, the person can bleed for a longer period of time after a
wound of cut. Depending on the person with hemophilia so small cuts or injuries for the most part do
not become much of a problem in their day to day lives. In most cases the risk comes in when there is

The process can be done by infusing prepared factor concentrates and people who have hemophilia
eventually learn how to use these infusions on their own in order to stop their bleeding episodes and,
by doing the infusions regularly this for the most part can even stop most bleeding episodes from even
happening. But it s going to take good medical care from doctors and nurses who have experience in
dealing with people who have the disorder in order to administer preventive solutions. The disorder of
hemophilia is a genetic one which means it is inherited, and to this day there is still no cure but
treatment to live with this disorder. Hemophilia can and does affect all racial and ethnic groups of
people and within those groups it has been found that majority of those with hemophilia are men. Now
being that this is inherited let s look in to the chromosome theory of inheritance, this theory brings

Opera Singers Career Essay
The first job in the performing arts industry I have researched is that of a classical/opera solo vocalist.
Opera Singers perform pieces that combine a libretto and a musical score accompanied by an
orchestra.
Classical Singers are categorised by their voice range, usually as soprano, alto/contralto, tenor,
baritone, and bass and all usually perform in concerts or operas. Classical Singers may also perform in
concerts, theatres, and even on the radio and television.

Baker started studying opera in high school, which she says is considered a late start. She sang for fun
and took private voice lessons. As an undergrad, she majored in vocal performance, later earning an

Most study for three to five years at a music school, but opera singers take lessons throughout their
career. While some Singers have naturally good voices, most are trained. To become successful,
having some sort of training, whether it is voice lessons, or achieving a BA in music, is very
important.
The pay varies: a member of a company chorus has the possibility of earning between £16,000 and
just under £30,000 a year. A principal can get from £100 to £1,000 per performance, and a known
name can receive from £5,000 £10,000 per performance. And agents of extremely well known names
ask whatever they want for their client.

£2,500. ENO pays about £3,000 for bigger names, but £1,500 for most

Lovers Dark Past
The 1990s were defined as the rise of multiculturalism and alternative media. Movements like hip

in the 1990s female roles began to grow and the gender roles began to change. The United States

You re wrong. Be careful to read the box before you buy. Some activity gyms for babies are
technically pillows or wedges. This type of mats is used simply to hold your baby.
The goal of an activity gym is that your baby can develop sensory movement and abilities. If they are
positioned by a device and cannot move, this thwarts the real purpose.
Visually appealing
Babies are colorblind when they are born and can only see objects up close. However, baby mats are
ideal for babies to develop their skills until they learn to crawl. Once they crawl, you can put them on
the mat, and they will be off and roaming in a few minutes. Therefore, as your baby wears the play
mat, it must be visually appealing to your baby so it will attract your attention. This promotes
movement and aid in development.
All babies love mirrors. They like to look at themselves or think they see another baby.
Many activity gyms include lights that easily attract baby s attention. Make sure they don t have
dancing lights directly on top of them, or they won t look

The diversity remains a major challenge for majority of airlines seeking to achieve best level customer
experience and satisfaction. Different people have different reasons behind them using air transport.
The various reasons may be categorised into three main groups (Atilgan, Akinci, S. Aksoy, 2008).
First category involves those travelling for pleasure and status. Travellers in this group always use air
transport as way of achieving personal pleasures. The second group involves individuals who travel
for business or work related activities. This group of travellers have unique preferences that airline
organizations must meet so as to make them fully satisfied.
The last group of individuals are those seeking medical services and emergency service. This group of
people have unique needs that must be met so as to make them have great experience that would yield
best satisfaction. The strategies embraced must consider how the service is felt at individual level.
Failure to ensure that the majority of travellers if not all travel preferences and needs are at most met,
the organization risks losing customer to other airline organizations with better customer satisfaction
strategies (Huang Feng, 2009).

Comparing and Contrasting High School Teachers and...
Most people see teachers and professors in the same light. They perform similar tasks. They teach.
However, they are separated by a fine line of distinction. High school teachers help a student build a
foundation of knowledge, and train the student to focus on learning. College professors help to shape
and define a student s foundation of knowledge, and challenge the student to cultivate the mind. High
school teachers and college professors have similar goals and guidelines, but they take a differing
approach to achieving the end result. The way the class is conducted, academic expectations, and view
of student responsibility are a few of the contrasts between high school teachers and college
professors.
A high school class ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The student is responsible for knowing what is required and when it is due. For example; I once asked
my math professor if we would have a homework assignment for the weekend and he did not answer
me. One of the other students told me to look in the syllabus for the homework assignment. I was
embarrassed that I had asked and now I save my syllabus for the entire course.
Academic expectations are different between high school teachers and college professors as well. The
academic expectations of teachers are focused on memorizing and regurgitating facts and can be met
with minimal effort on the part of the student. High school teachers tend to point out the relationship
between subjects so that the student has no choice but to see the connections. Furthermore, the student
is expected to merely do the homework, and be able to recite the lesson to earn a passing grade.
Memorization is the primary focus. For example; students are required to memorize the multiplication
tables even if they don t understand the concept of multiplication. I was one of those students that did
not understand multiplication and as a result, I forgot the multiplication tables almost as soon as math
class was over. Whether or not the student actually understands the material is second to being able to
recite the material. This demonstrates a much lower academic expectation compared

Summary Of Slavery Without Submission
With reference to chapter 8 and 9 of Zinn s book: Slavery without Submission , Emancipation without
freedom in A People s History of the United States, It was clearly established that that the Civil War
was not really fought over the moral issue of slavery, but rather the economic issue of slavery. To
reveal these American intentions behind the abolition of slavery, Zinn focuses on the Civil War which
usually thought of as the paramount event in U.S. emancipation. After reviewing a few slave revolts
and their defeats, he turns to focus on Abraham Lincoln and his ability to skillfully blend the interests
of the very rich and the interests of the black at a moment in history when these interests met.

The Abolition Of Slavery And The Civil War
Throughout American history there have been numerous civil rights movements and shifts of thoughts
and beliefs. One of the largest and arguably the most impactful movement was the movement to end
slavery. America has always been divided on the issue, and even to this day there are harsh sentiments
between different ethnicities. America made an official decision on the matter following a brutal and
violent civil war. The Thirteenth Amendment was passed on January 31st, 1865 and read: Neither
slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been
duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction. This
amendment followed Abraham Lincoln s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Senate actually passed the amendment in 1864, yet the House of Representatives did not. Through
Abraham Lincoln s efforts with the Republican party, the House eventually decided to pass the
amendment with a vote of 119 to 56 in January, 1865. This established the Thirteenth Amendment as
part of the U.S. Constitution, only needing ratification by three fourths of the states. It was officially
adopted on December 6, 1865 and was a Constitutional amendment. Of the remaining states, all but
three had ratified it by 1870. Delaware ratified it in 1901, while Kentucky and Mississippi did not
ratify it until the second half of the 20th century. Kentucky ratified the Thirteenth Amendment in 1976
and Mississippi did not ratify it until 1995 (History Net, n.d.). The inclusion of the Thirteenth
Amendment in the U.S. Constitution meant that this particular issue was widespread and was also very
controversial. It put an end to one of the bloodiest American conflicts and also established boundaries
that America was to be a free country where everyone is meant to be equal. The abolition of slavery
was necessary to patch a divided country and to free those who had been forced to spend their lives
working for the gain of others, simply because of their skin color. Its inclusion in the

Relationship Between A Mother Daughter Relationships And...
In Affection and Acrimony : Exploring Mother Daughter Relationships in Gilmore Girls
Almost every woman in North America has some form of a relationship with their daughter and/or
mother in their lifetime. However, these relation can vary in amiability and affection. Whether due to
similarities or differences in personality or circumstances in life, mothers and daughters can be close
confidants or fierce foes. These familial relationships have been studied in part by Marianne Hirsch
and Sharon M. Varallo in their essays on the familial gaze and the genre of family photographs,
respectively. In this essay, I will be using the work previously done by Hirsch and Varallo to analyze
two different mother daughter relationships presented in the television show Gilmore Girls. The two
relationships differ vastly in their outward appearance, however both relationships show underlying
characteristics of both friendship and animosity. Overall, these two mother daughter relationships
demonstrate that the love between a mother and a daughter can be expressed in various ways.
Gilmore Girls follows the lives of three women in the Gilmore family. Rory, the youngest, is a
teenager at the beginning of the show. She is an only child and was raised by her single mother,
Lorelai, in the small town of Stars Hollow, Connecticut. Lorelai is in her thirties throughout the show.
She became pregnant with Rory when she was sixteen, and left her wealthy parents home to raise

Why Is The Destruction Of The Hawaiian Island Unjustified
The overthrow of 1893 was followed by the Reciprocity Treaty and groups of people such as the
Hawaiian League, The Annexation Club, and The Committee of Public Safety tried to take Queen Lili
uokalani off of her throne. Their plan worked and the Queen surrendered her throne to the United
States of America. In 1895, the Queen was imprisoned at Iolani Palace and she also wrote multiple
songs in the eight months that she was there. The overthrow of the Hawaiian Kingdom led to Hawaii
being annexed to the United States. The overthrow of the Hawaiian Kingdom was unjustified because
Minister Stevens ordered American troops to go to Iolani Palace to help the Committee of Public
Safety and the Committee of Public Safety s goal was to overthrow the Queen and set up a provisional
government. Firstly, one reason to further understand why the overthrow was gratuitos and unjustified
was because Minister John L. Stevens illegally brought troops in from the United States of America to
go to Iolani Palace and help the Committee of Public Safety. Minister Stevens worked with Sanford B.

Ways Of Seeing John Berger
Throughout the history of art, the meaning of images and the fashion in which themes are depicted
have shifted throughout the history of art. In the book Ways of Seeing, John Berger outlines the
reasons behind these changes in the consumption of art and explains why art has become what it is
today. However, within his explanation he misses one of the most important contributors to this
evolution: the cultural changes that have occurred since the creation of the painting. He does mention
these differences, but only uses the concept of changing social norms to strengthen his argument about
the mystification of art. This is an oversight. A cultural shift changes how people perceive of the
world, and thus, changes how ideas are depicted in art. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These works were the exact opposite of his earlier works, which were of a larger scale, utilized color,
and were meant for a client. Instead, The Disasters of War were prints, made for easy disbursement on
small pieces of paper (Figure 2). This sudden shift in artistic style can be attributed to several changes
in the artist s personal life and the political atmosphere surrounding him. During the time period in
which these prints were made, between the years of 1810 1812, Napoleon had invaded Spain, and
brought with him war and destruction ( Goya Prado Tour ). With the warfare came the actual practice
of Enlightenment ideals. Most of these ideas had been known in Spain prior to this point and were
supported by the middle class, but they had been under the rule of an absolute monarch ( Goya Prado

unsettling. Goya, who was in agreement with the ideas of the French Revolution, stayed in Spain after
the expulsion of the monarchs ( Goya Prado Tour ). However, it can be seen that the blood and
violence that followed with these changes bothered him. Before the French invaded, all of the
Enlightenment ideals of the French Revolution were intangible thoughts that Spaniards had spoken of
in theory, not actually experienced. With the experience of these Enlightenment ideas came war,

Jonathan Swift is one of the best known satirists in the history of literature. When one reads his works,
especially something like Gulliver s Travels, it is easy for one to spot the misanthropic themes, which
emerge within his characterization. Lamuel Gulliver is an excellent protagonist: a keen observer, and a
good representative of his native England, but one who loses faith in mankind as his story progresses.
He ends up in remote areas of the world all by accidents in his voyages. In each trip, he is

Gulliver is a good representative of England, but one who loses faith in mankind as the story
progresses. The visit to Brobdingnag accounts for most of this misery, where he attempts to preserve
his dignity as an English man. Gulliver becomes exactly the controversial figure of what he was in
Lilliput. In this case, the Brobdingnagians remain peaceful with him, yet he is prideful. The flag of
Gulliver s homeland, England, on the coat of arms illustrates pride.
Yet due to his pride for his native England, in the country of the Houyhnhnms, Gulliver is gradually
driven mad by his realization that he can never hope to achieve the state of existence of the supremely
rational, noble Houyhnhnms. Even though the Houyhnhnms consider Gulliver to be noble, Gulliver is
constantly offended when he sees a disturbing resemblance between himself and the barbaric Yahoos.
He falls to the same sin of pride that he condemned in the others in previous voyages. He is disgusted
that the members of his own human race are living a filthy lifestyle such as the animals of England,
and this makes him eager to return to home, where he thinks things are normal. Therefore, a rat ready
to enter its hole represents Gulliver forced to return to England because of his fear that he will
eventually turn barbaric.

Euthanasia Should Be Allowed To Die Research Paper
To have the right to be assisted to die or to not have the right to be assisted to die, that is the question.
An individual can have their lives turn upside down with merely a sentence being told to them. With
the countless procedures performed, we are lament to say, there is no cure. Just with fourteen words
being said, all hope is lost. What is the point of living on if all that is being felt is pure utter pain?
These individuals that have already been told they have a terminal illness should be given their rights
to end their lives. Being exempt from pure excruciating and unbearable pain is immoral; having said
that, doctors should allow their patients to commit assisted suicide.
Differentiating between euthanasia and assisted suicide is essential when discussing the right to die.
When a third party has performed the last act in the patient s death, euthanasia has occurred. When a
lethal injection is presented to the patient and the patient decides to insert it into their veins, assisted
suicide has been partaken. The patient should have a right to decide whether or not they would like to
continue living or perish. The doctor should not be the one in control when advocating the decision
their patient would like to commit. Euthanasia makes the doctor the primary source to what should
happen with their patient. Assisted suicide should be promoted instead of Euthanasia due to the fact
that the patient overall decides their final fate.

However, the idea of a motor speech disorder existing with preserved language skills and unimpaired
muscular function was originally introduced by Paul Broca in the 1800s (Broca, 1861). McNeil et.al,
(2004) defines AOS as a neurogenic communication disorder affecting the planning and programming
of speech movements in the absence of weakness, slowness, and incoordination of the speech
musculature. Apraxic speakers can properly select the correct phonemes, but are unable to manipulate
and sequence the structures necessary for speech because the ... Show more content on

Errors are highly inconsistent and vary with the complexity of the articulatory demands, particularly
as words increase in length. Interestingly, the speaker is usually aware of his or her errors but is
typically unable to anticipate or correct them. Some errors appear to be perseverative, while others
anticipatory (Staiger, Finger Berg, Aichert, Ziegler,

David Brooks The Humanist Vocation Analysis
In an article entitled The Humanist Vocation , which appeared in the New York Times, David Brooks,
a well known columnist, and an op ed editor for the New York Times, claims that the decline in
numbers of humanities graduates is due to the humanists loss of interest and faith in their mission,
supporting his claims with lines from a note written by one of the history teachers of the University of
Chicago back when he himself was a freshman. Brooks is definitely right when he tries to link this
decrease in humanities majors, however, he does not fully succeed in tackling the real issue behind the
drastic change.
According to Brooks, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In fact, the matter goes beyond that reason. Why would someone choose a major that only focuses on
conceptual ideas, and is not required in the job market unless it is for teaching the humanities? It
seems like a never ending loop. One person can give a lecture to a hundred people, but not each one of
them will be able to teach another hundred. While other majors that are demanded in the market are
more vast and broad. An engineer can work in a company, on their own inventions, and even teach
subjects related to their majors for instance. Brooks needed to see the matter from a realistic point of
view, since the reason is, after all, economic in the first place. When he argues that a 19 years old
freshman will see the humanities as a boring and useless major, he forgets or misses to mention, that
people go to universities to prepare themselves for the job market. And there is no point of going to
the market with a certificate that will lead them nowhere. With that being said, Brooks also insists on
quoting a history teacher, transmitting to the reader his own perspective of the reason he thinks is
causing the

Factors And Success Of Sir Syed And Aligarh Movement
This inclination was introduced by Dadabhai Naoroji, by many Indians, he was considered as the
eldest statesman. Successfully, he went as far as opposing, an election to the British House of
Commons and became its first Indian member. That he was supported by young, ambitious Indian
student activists like Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
Indian National Congress was found in 1885. It announced that it will keep the representation of both
Hindus and Muslims in India. But afterwards Muslims realized that it became a whole benefit for
Hindus only.
 Sir Syed and Aligarh Movement
During the 1857 uprising Sir Syed supported the British, a role which has been critiqued by some
nationalists such as Jamaluddin Afghani. In 1859 Sir Syed published the booklet Asbab e Baghawat e

The Muslim leaders wanted to form a permanent political forum. The anti Muslim activities of
Congress too gave emphasis to the need of a political platform for the Muslims from where Muslims
could protect their interests. Consultations were held between the Muslim leaders of Shimla
Deputation after their meeting with the Viceroy among themselves as to the probability of establishing
a political association.
The reasons for the establishment of Muslim league are as follows:
1. INDIFFERENT ATTITUDE OF THE CONGRESS TOWARDS MUSLIMS:
All India National Congress was dominantly Hindu body from scratch. Their interests were always
opposite to the interests of the Indian Muslims. By 1906, Muslim leaders were influenced that they
must have their own party which may speak for the public on all important events.
2. EDUCATIONAL AND ECONOMIC BACKWARDNESS:
Muslims had left far behind in education and economic progress from the Hindus. Educational and
economic environments can only be up graded by founding a separate Muslims organization that can
represent the needs and requirements of the Muslims of

The Bystander Effect Essay
The Bystander Effect
Mankind must remember that peace is not God s gift to his creatures; peace is our gift to each other. It
was a dark cold night. The sky was dusky and the moon was NEW. As usual, I took my long walk
starting from my neighborhood, till the next one and back. But this night was not just a normal. It was
a horrible yet frightening night that engraved one of the heaviest, most profound experiences in my
life! One of the ill effects of cruelty is that it makes the bystanders cruel. (Thomas Fowell Buxton)
The typical night walks I go for are around 10:00 11:00pm; just to have an introspective thought about
myself, a moment of peace of mind and relaxation. It was starting to get cold at night. I guess it was
just the season. I was walking alone, hearing every step I made forward with my hands inside my
jacket and my mouth covered with its tip; just to keep myself warm and not disturb my thoughts. The
street lights were off. I could not even see my shadow on the ground. I felt something was wrong. Just
that gut feeling that you sometimes get for no specific reason. So I decided to just forget about all the
thoughts, focus on my walk, and try to make is as quick as possible to get back to the safety and ...

I couldn t just leave and keep everything as is. I just could not. But then I asked myself: why no one is
doing something?! When I held my head up, I saw people standing on the fringe of their balcony,
watching the whole plot as if it was some Shakespeare theatrical piece!! I thought of calling the
police, but I knew it was useless, so I didn t. I thought of just standing in and defending her, but I
anticipated that I might get myself into trouble than; and this way I would not be able to help. I knew I
had to call somebody, just to scare him, just to let him go! The best alternative was to call an
emergency ambulance and tell them that someone is

There are famous thinkers that have little in common with what makes them strive to achievement
personal and professional goals. Some famous thinkers have creative ideas in which create a secure
foundation for the creative process. Several of these ideas circle around finding a solution to a
problem, or changing the way people think about upcoming issues. There are two particular famous
thinkers: Sam Walton and Bill Gates., both of these men were able to use the creative process to alter
the way people observed the issues of the day. They each made precise contributions to society during
difficult times.
Bill Gates (William Henry Gates III)

By 1980, only five years in business, he was approached by IBM to build their operating system,
catapulting him to success (Gates, B. 2012). Bill Gates has made many contributions to society. He is
the founder of Microsoft Inc., which is the industry standard for business and academic software but
his most important contribution to society is his philanthropic dedication. It is a well known fact that
Bill Gates is a very wealthy man but what he has done with his wealth is astonishing. He and his wife,
Melinda has pledged 95% of their wealth through their philanthropic organization, Bill and Melinda
Gates Foundation. 95% of anyone s income in staggering but 95% of the Gates is mind blowing. So
far to date, the organization has made grants of $26 billion, of which $15 billion went to global health
alone (Thorpe, 2012).
Samuel Moore Sam Walton
Samuel Moore Walton entered the world in the usual way on March 29, 1918, in the town of
Kingfisher, Oklahoma. Sam s parents moved the family to Missouri in 1923 where he spent the
remainder of his childhood bouncing from one Missouri town to another. Life was not easy for Sam
and his family while growing up during the depression, nor did he take the easy way out ever. Sam
was a natural leader and driven even as a child. Anything that Sam was part of he ended up leading in
some fashion. Youngest Eagle Scout, starting

Margherita Dolce Vita Character Analysis
In the story, Margherita Dolce Vita, there is a character named Angelo. Angelo is a mysterious
character that does not show up often in the book. He acts differently than one might call a normal
person. It is possible that Angelo could have or not have schizophrenia based off of symptoms he
expresses in the story Margherita Dolce Vita. According to, The National Institute of Mental
Health(NIMH), schizophrenia is defined as a chronic and severe mental disorder that affects the
person mentally, physically and behaviorally. Even though it is not common, it is possible for
children(15 and younger) to have schizophrenia. It is more common for people to start showing
symptoms from between 16 and 30 years of age. There are three kinds of symptoms, of which are in
their own groups. There are positive symptoms which are psychotic behaviors not generally seen in
healthy people. People affected by positive symptoms may not have a strong sense of what is reality
or not reality. The symptoms include hallucinations, delusions, thought process (atypical thinking),
and movement disorders. There are also negative symptoms, which are associated with disruptions in
behavior and emotions. These symptoms include flat affect(reduced expressions), reduced feelings of
pleasure in regular life, and reduced speaking. Lastly, there are cognitive symptoms which might be
subtle in some, but severe for others. The symptoms include poor decision making after obtaining
information, trouble

Essay about The New Side of the News Media
Everything is known not according to itself, but according to the capacity of the knower Boethius.
News reporters know everything about an issue and have many ways to present their information to
the public. People do not realize their opinions are influenced through the media s reportings, since no
one has warned them. These reporters are often called the fourth branch of government (Gabbs)
because of their actions. The media is responsible for conveying opinions through their reports, which
does not allow the individual to analyze a situation to form their own opinions; therefore they are
detrimental to the American society. Many news sources include their opinions through a simple
technique of fabricating stories. Most news ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In other words, the media was also capable of changing the attention from the people to the plane.
People mainly talk about the plane instead of the missing family members, which were not given
much respect through the media. Since the media creates opinions, they need a side to stick with. That
is how the terms conservatives and liberals came to be. People consider conservatives to be
Republicans and liberals to be Democrats. News sources like the New York Times and MSNBC are
liberal, while Fox News and the National Review are conservative. Liberals tend to believe in gay
rights, for abortion, no guns, and centralising the government; although, conservatives like the ideas
opposing the liberals. Liberals and Conservatives also have another name: Liberals are called Left
Wing and Conservatives are Right Wing . Those are just some other names used to describe the two
sides because people have a difficult time remembering who supports what. The majority of people
are more apt to have all or half the qualities of the two sides. Physiologically, the human brain likes to
hear what it agrees with. If a news source appeals to the person once(keeping in mind that
Rama 3 news sources express only one view), they are more than likely to only watch that news
source or come back to it every so often. When a news source disagrees with a person they are not
inclined to watch that news source whenever

  • 2. The Constitution Act Of 1982 The Constitution Act of 1982, or more commonly known as, The Charter of Rights and Freedoms, constitutionally entrenched fundamental civil liberties, which have protected Canadians from both federal and provincial legislative imposition. Since the Charter s inception, however, Canada s judiciary has been placed under great criticism and scrutiny due to the fact that the courts were believed to have been given legislative powers that rivaled both the federal and provincial legislatures. Through Judicial Review, the Supreme Court of Canada was given the task to interpret the charter since that wording of the legal document itself was vague enough to warrant interpretation, and hence, gave critics a reason to believe that supreme court justices have been the power to legislate without any political or public recourse. Unfortunately, as a result of these criticisms, various public notions, such as appointed and not duly elected Supreme Court justices with the ability to legislate, became the main focus in questioning whether the supreme court s institutional functions were legitimate, and in tandem with the principles of a free and democratic society. Given, the misconceptions regarding the Canadian judiciary by both critics and the public alike, the purpose of this research is to investigate the functions, and criticisms surrounding the Canadian judiciary. The result of this investigation will provide a clear and informative argument that, Canada s judiciary did not seize ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

As is known to all, the current economic development is highly influenced by Internet technology. More and more companies nowadays choose to establish their e commerce model to expand market and reduce business cost. In particular, technological advancements such as social media and information technology are increasingly utilized in business marketing strategies. But the company does not yet have relevant channels; its official website is mainly about corporate and product introduction. The Importance of Developing Renewable Energy in Europe In recent years, Europe has been faced with the problem of continuous urbanization and excessive energy consumption, closing in on exhaustion of available energy resources. In view of this, the notions of sustainability and resilience have become paramount in resource management and policy making. Within such a context, renewable energies play a key role in the global energy pool. Amongst these, wind energy production accounts for almost half (43%) of the global generating capacity [1]. Nonetheless, despite its obvious merits, the Big Wind industry comes with a number of potential shortcomings largely relating to the short life span of these components and the lack of efficient operation and maintenance (Ο Îœ) planning schemes. Problem specific, cost benefit analyses have not been conducted in detail, in order to provide significant indications that the benefits of SHM systems outweigh their cost. In this respect, one should mind that stakeholders, managers and infrastructure operators need simple and reliable tools in the form of yes/no actions , or green/red buttons . Unavoidably, this implies that SHM systems should be transformed from complex research oriented measurement campaigns into robust, integrated solutions that accompany the structure throughout its life cycle. Our goal is to address the aforementioned bottlenecks, maximizing the return on investment for such facilities by extending the useable lifetime through a smart monitoring implementation. In a nutshell, the proposed project has the following main objectives: 1. We will propose a new monitoring paradigm for WT facilities which features optimal sensor placement, i.e., minimally used instrumentation for extraction of the necessary amount of key response quantities in an effort to track these systems from cradle to grave. 2. Based on this sensory feedback and data collection, we will develop data processing methodologies relying on SHM, for the extraction of metrics for LCA both in the short term (damage, anomalies and extreme events detection) and in the long term (deterioration, fatigue and defective ... Although there was a cholera epidemic in Latin America in the 1990s, Haiti never confronted such a health issue in its history. Few of these women have been respected by the men in their lives. Most of these men consider women things to possess. Some of these men have their reasons, though inexcusable, for how they act. Very few are kind and considerate towards the ladies in their lives. The men in this novella all have their own stories that are inexplicably intertwined to the suffering of women. The men treat women with disrespect by taking control of their lives and shaping those lives into how women are expected to be, and believe women belong to them. Although the interviews conducted were unstructured all three practitioners were asked for their definition of leadership and management. It was thought that questions about leadership and management could be interpreted in so many ways, whereas having their interpretation helped to better understand where they were coming from. It was important to understand each individual perception. In the interviews conducted management was believed to generate responsibilities such as planning, paperwork, day to day running and that health and safety is in place. Where as leadership was believed to be more involved with what the children do, helping others perform their role, inspiring others. A conversation with practitioner two, that was recorded in the field notes revealed staff not wanting to be thought of as a manager, preconceived ideas of management made the role something they did not want to aspire to. The aforementioned ability to govern for ever and ever comes from journalistic sensationalism, a craft perfected by newspaper owners and journalists Joseph Pulitzer and William Randolph Hearst at the dawn of the twentieth century. Sensationalism counts for only one of the numerous ties between the career rivals who, in an effort to distinguish themselves from each other, ironically knotted themselves together in journalism history. Hearst s first took his first notorious step with his pilfering of all of Pulitzer s editorial staff at the New York World, followed by Pulitzer s rehiring, and Hearst s second theft of the same journalists (Contemporary, Joseph ). Pulitzer, as the originator of the colorful comics section in newspapers, made sure to keep The Yellow Kid comic strip in the New York World newspaper despite losing the original designer in Pulitzer s continuing battle with Hearst (Squires). The fact that the battle went deep enough into the newspapers to affect the comics section helped historians coin the term yellow journalism as an idiom for how Hearst and Pulitzer ran their respective newspapers (Therkelsen 7). Academic expectations are different between high school teachers and college professors as well. The academic expectations of teachers are focused on memorizing and regurgitating facts and can be met with minimal effort on the part of the student. High school teachers tend to point out the relationship between subjects so that the student has no choice but to see the connections. Furthermore, the student is expected to merely do the homework, and be able to recite the lesson to earn a passing grade. Memorization is the primary focus. For example; students are required to memorize the multiplication tables even if they don t understand the concept of multiplication. I was one of those students that did not understand multiplication and as a result, I forgot the multiplication tables almost as soon as math class was over. America made an official decision on the matter following a brutal and violent civil war. The overthrow of the Hawaiian Kingdom was unjustified because Minister Stevens ordered American troops to go to Iolani Palace to help the Committee of Public Safety and the Committee of Public Safety s goal was to overthrow the Queen and set up a provisional government. Firstly, one reason to further understand why the overthrow was gratuitos and unjustified was because Minister John L. However, within his explanation he misses one of the most important contributors to this evolution: the cultural changes that have occurred since the creation of the painting. During the time period in which these prints were made, between the years of 1810 1812, Napoleon had invaded Spain, and brought with him war and destruction ( Goya Prado Tour ). With the warfare came the actual practice of Enlightenment ideals. Most of these ideas had been known in Spain prior to this point and were supported by the middle class, but they had been under the rule of an absolute monarch ( Goya Prado Tour ). An individual can have their lives turn upside down with merely a sentence being told to them. With the countless procedures performed, we are lament to say, there is no cure. Oral Synthesis Essay Uncertainty with defining the clinical attributes of Apraxia of Speech has been debated in the literature dating back to 1960 s when Darley (1975) first introduced the term Apraxia of Speech (AOS). However, the idea of a motor speech disorder existing with preserved language skills and unimpaired muscular function was originally introduced by Paul Broca in the 1800s (Broca, 1861). McNeil et.al, (2004) defines AOS as a neurogenic communication disorder affecting the planning and programming of speech movements in the absence of weakness, slowness, and incoordination of the speech musculature. David Brooks The Humanist Vocation Analysis In an article entitled The Humanist Vocation , which appeared in the New York Times, David Brooks, a well known columnist, and an op ed editor for the New York Times, claims that the decline in numbers of humanities graduates is due to the humanists loss of interest and faith in their mission, supporting his claims with lines from a note written by one of the history teachers of the University of Chicago back when he himself was a freshman. Brooks is definitely right when he tries to link this decrease in humanities majors, however, he does not fully succeed in tackling the real issue behind the drastic change. According to Brooks, ... Why would someone choose a major that only focuses on conceptual ideas, and is not required in the job market unless it is for teaching the humanities? It seems like a never ending loop. One person can give a lecture to a hundred people, but not each one of them will be able to teach another hundred. While other majors that are demanded in the market are more vast and broad. An engineer can work in a company, on their own inventions, and even teach subjects related to their majors for instance. Brooks needed to see the matter from a realistic point of view, since the reason is, after all, economic in the first place. When he argues that a 19 years old freshman will see the humanities as a boring and useless major, he forgets or misses to mention, that people go to universities to prepare themselves for the job market. And there is no point of going to the market with a certificate that will lead them nowhere. With that being said, Brooks also insists on quoting a history teacher, transmitting to the reader his own perspective of the reason he thinks is causing the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The sky was dusky and the moon was NEW. As usual, I took my long walk starting from my neighborhood, till the next one and back. But this night was not just a normal. It was a horrible yet frightening night that engraved one of the heaviest, most profound experiences in my life! One of the ill effects of cruelty is that it makes the bystanders cruel. (Thomas Fowell Buxton) The typical night walks I go for are around 10:00 11:00pm; just to have an introspective thought about myself, a moment of peace of mind and relaxation. It was starting to get cold at night. I guess it was just the season. I was walking alone, hearing every step I made forward with my hands inside my jacket and my mouth covered with its tip; just to keep myself warm and not disturb my thoughts. The street lights were off. I could not even see my shadow on the ground. I felt something was wrong. Just that gut feeling that you sometimes get for no specific reason.
