Steroids Essay
Writing an essay on the topic of "Steroids" can be quite challenging for several reasons. Firstly,
the subject matter itself is complex and multifaceted, requiring in-depth research and
understanding of various scientific, medical, ethical, and social aspects. Exploring the effects of
steroids on the human body, their use in sports and athletics, the ethical dilemmas surrounding
their legality and regulation, and their impact on society as a whole involves delving into a
broad range of interconnected issues.
Furthermore, crafting a well-rounded essay on steroids necessitates the ability to critically
analyze and synthesize information from diverse sources, including medical journals, scientific
studies, ethical discussions, legal documents, and anecdotal evidence. This requires not only
strong research skills but also the capability to evaluate the credibility and reliability of different
sources, considering the controversial nature of the topic and the potential biases present in
various perspectives.
Moreover, addressing the topic of steroids in an essay requires a nuanced approach that
acknowledges the complexities and contradictions inherent in the subject matter. One must
navigate through conflicting viewpoints, such as the arguments for the therapeutic benefits of
steroids in medical treatments versus the concerns about their misuse and abuse in sports and
bodybuilding. Balancing these contrasting perspectives while presenting a coherent and well-
supported argument can be demanding, requiring careful attention to detail and effective
rhetorical strategies.
In addition, discussing steroids often involves engaging with sensitive issues related to
performance enhancement, body image ideals, athlete health and safety, fair competition, and
the broader cultural attitudes towards physical fitness and enhancement. Navigating these ethical
and societal considerations requires a thoughtful and empathetic approach that considers the
diverse perspectives and experiences of different stakeholders, including athletes, medical
professionals, policymakers, and the general public.
Overall, writing an essay on the topic of "Steroids" is a challenging task that demands
comprehensive research, critical thinking, and effective communication skills. It requires
grappling with complex scientific, ethical, and social issues while maintaining a balanced and
nuanced perspective. Despite the difficulties involved, exploring this topic can yield valuable
insights into the intersections of medicine, sports, ethics, and society.

political partnership. They exchanged more than 1,200 letters.
After serving under the Virginia House of Delegates, Jefferson was elected

The Ordinance of 1784 marks the high point of Jefferson s opposition to slavery.
Little was done about this issue during Jefferson s time, but he helped lead up to the
abolition of slavery. In September of 1789, Jefferson became Secretary of State
under the first president of the United States, George Washington. He resigned in
1798 during the century s worst yellow fever epidemic.
Thomas Jefferson was not only known as a political figure. He was also involved

An Occurrence At Owl Creek Bridge Essay
In the short story, An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge, by the Realist author,
Ambrose Bierce, claimed to prefer the representative rather than the extraordinary a
face of life that is generally untrue. For example, the details throughout the story sight
proved that the author had witnessed the situation and had his story to truthfully tell,
He was a captain. A sentinel at each end of the bridge stood with his rifle in the
position known as support, that is to say, vertical in front of the left shoulder, the
hammer resting on the forearm, thrown straight across the chest a formal and
unnatural position, enforcing an erect carriage of the body (457) He did not express

the reader s hopes up by insisting on one circumstance while foreshadowing the
character s death through an unconscious state as if he had already passed. Realism
indicated an acknowledgment of facts instead of assumptions and took advantage
of this time to show accurate descriptions of American history. In The Ledge, by
Lawrence sargent Hall, he claimed that Naturalism was expressed through his use
of detached style of narration, accuracy of detail, and individuals being controlled
by society. If the story were from a personal perspective, situations throughout it

Rabbits Are Strict Herbivores And Require A Diet High
Rabbits are strict herbivores and require a diet high in fibre. A balanced diet of
grasses, hay and pellets needs to be provided in the correct ratio to ensure
gastrointestinal tract motility. Adequate dental wear is required by high volumes
of chewing of grasses and hay which minimises dental procedures. Rabbits require
high quantities of fresh grass, dried grass products or hay and need up to 30 60g of
dry food per body weight and containing at least 18% of fibre.
Normal healthy rabbits should be fed between 30 60g of commercial pellets per kg of
bodyweight per day.

A Comparison Of Count Dracula And Edward Cullen
Vampires have aroused a perennial fascination within humanity since their fictional
materialization into history. However, it is over the course of the last century that
these creatures have become an iconic symbol of mystifying horror and inexplicable
desire. Recently, the vampire has undergone a significant reconstruction of physical
appearance, behaviour, and surroundings, along with, extensive modifications to its
super natural disadvantages. These distinct character adaptations are imperative when
considering two of the most notable vampires ever fashioned: Count Draculaand
Edward Cullen. The dissimilarity between Bram Stoker s 19th century, Count
Dracula, and Stephenie Meyer s 21st century, Edward Cullen, is a complex reflection
of the contrasting societies from which these vampires emerged.
The acute variation between the presented images of Dracula and Edward mirror the
different perspectives, held by the cultures that birthed them, on the importance of
physical appearance. For example, Dracula s facial description is very strong, with a
thin nose, a lofty domed forehead, and enormous eyebrows, almost meeting over the
nose (Stoker 25 26). Attributes such as these are not standard descriptors of an
overwhelmingly enticing appearance, but rather, detail an elderly or distinguished
gentleman. Contrastingly, the depiction of Edward s facial features is outwardly
alluring, with descriptions such as, flawless (Meyer 162) and devastatingly,
inhumanly beautiful
Effects Of Ankylosing Spondylitis
The skeletal system is a very intricate and important body system. Many problems
that can drastically effect the movement, structure, and even the blood supply of the
body occur within the skeletal system. Among these diseases are ankylosing
spondylitis and a herniated nucleus pulposus. Ankylosing Spondylitis is a type of
arthritis that attacks the spine and, in some people, the joints of the arms and legs.
The most common symptoms of ankylosing spondylitis are chronic painand stiffness
in the lower back, buttocks, and hips that usually develops slowly over several
weeks or months (Ankylosing Spondylitis, 2016). People in their teens or 20s,
particularly males, are affected most often. Also, if a person s family member has

This is because the disease is hereditary. The major gene that causes ankylosing
spondylitis, according to John D. Reveille, MD of the American College of
Rheumatology, is HLA B27. However, up to 30 genes have been known to cause
the disease. Ankylosing spondylitis is a somewhat rare disease. Based on data
from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey, the frequency of
ankylosing spondylitis in the U.S. is 0.5 percent (Reveille, 2013). To diagnose
ankylosing spondylitis, the doctor will rely on medical history, a physical
examination of joints and spine, imaging test of the pelvis, and also a blood test to
check for the HLA B27 gene. Having the HLA B27 gene doesn t specifically mean
that someone has ankylosing spondylitis; but it is a clue to help support the diagnosis
(Ankylosing Spondylitis, 2016). The diagnosis relies on the doctor s judgment
overall. The treatment focuses on reducing pain and stiffness, preventing deformities,
and allowing for patients to lead normal, healthy lives. All patients with ankylosing
spondylitis should get physical therapy and do exercises that promote spinal
extension and mobility. The doctor may

Persuasive Speech On Alcohol
Alcohol guidelines are set clearly and the standard amount is stated clearly, yet 88000
people are killed of alcohol and 10000 people are killed of alcohol impaired driving
every year. Despite the large number of deaths caused by alcohol in the past years,
people seem to still continue in overtaking alcohol. There also seems to be an
addictionon alcohol and most people cannot stop drinking after their first try and
have slowly made it into a habit, drinking it at a daily basis, and people seem to
just forget/ignore the harms that the overdose of alcohol brings to us. I believe that
this is because they are still unaware of the consequences in overtaking alcohol, and
therefore I am going to clarify and show just how bad overtaking alcohol is.... Show

All it takes is willpower and determination. Since recovery is a long and gradual
process, don t give any excuses to yourself on drinking during recovery. That will
just make you addicted again, causing the problem to be even more severe.
Through this period of recovery, patients should avoid bad influences and
temptations which cause you to feel desperate without alcohol. Those will only
drag down your progress on the long pathway of recovery. If you have tried to
solve addiction in the past and have failed, reflect on your past experiences. Think
about what you have done wrong which has caused the failure of your plan and
avoid that. You want to be able to solve this problem as quick as possible, or else
the feeling of desperation for alcohol will slowly build up once more. Due to the
withdrawal from alcohol, there may be several mild side effects, including headache,
shaking, diarrhea, vomiting and so on, but it is all worth it if you can solve your
addiction in the long run, no matter how heavy the price is. Overall, to quickly
recover from addiction, determination is one of the key things which will help you
through this gruelling journey.
Conclusion:
Overall, we see that the consequences that overtaking alcohol brings is extremely
severe, and it can immensely harm us from different aspects, no matter health
decision making or family relationships. Therefore, we should definitely rethink
before getting our hands on an alcoholic

Psychological Theory Of The Movie The Flash
Should a superhero show have a perfect example of psychological theory to be
successful? Some television viewer would not care, since it is a fictional story,
but I believe so. For a superhero show to connect with people, not only does it need

`` The Yellow Wallpaper `` And The Court Cases Like
Ellen...
From short stories like The Yellow Wallpaper, to the court cases like Ellen Pao s
Suit vs. Kleiner Perkins, and even a data book like Women in the Labor Force, it is
clear to see that inequality and mistreatment of women still exists today. People
often say that inequality is a thing of the past, however it has been a serious
problem since the dawning of civilization itself, and it is still so today. Women are
often seen as lesser beings than men, and are treated accordingly. It is getting better,
and women are starting to take their rightful places as equals in the workforce, and
as equals in general. However, the world still has a long way to go before the
inequality and mistreatment of women comes to a complete stop. In The Yellow
Wallpaper, the authors explores the world through the eyes of the narrator. The
narrator is a womanwho has been taken away to live in the countryside for the
summer due to temporary nervous depression (Gilman). This diagnosis was done
by her husband, a physician, who treats her more like a possession than a spouse.
Though he has diagnosed her with this, he is seen saying that she is not really sick
at all. He gives her incorrect medicines, not believing her when she says something
is wrong. Throughout the story, it is shown that she is not ever taken seriously, her
husband even going so far as to say that she shall be sick as she pleases (Gilman)
this implying that she is making up her illness for attention, and that it is all

have risen many have also fallen. So what allows some to rise and stay in power
and not others? Dictators such as Saddam Hussein and Napoleon Bonaparte
remained in power for many years. Comparatively Saddam Hussein ruled Iraq for

How are their methods different from each other? How could one be in power

was more willing to use violent methods to control his people, while Napoleon
Bonaparte was more civilized and believed that he didn t need to use violence. So

Why does Buffett reject them?
a. The Discounted Value of the cash can be calculated by taking the remaining life of
the business. The per share progress is the intrinsic Value. By Warren measures
intrinsic value is the present value of the future expected performance.
b. Because it focuses on the earning returns in excess of the cost of the capital, that is
the most reasonable way to evaluate the return.
c. The gain in intrinsic value could be modeled as the value added by a business
above and beyond the charge for the use of capital in that business.
d. The alternative is accounting profit, it estimates BRK by its size, by the
performance of the company.
e. Accounting measures is traditional, because it looks at the GAAP and not on the

free range electrons and dissociates readily in solutions.4 3. How could a
conductometric titration be used to determine the molarity of either reacting
solutions, assuming the concentration of one solution was known? HINT: Consider
the variables needed to calculate molarity, and how can these values be obtained
from the titration. The symbol M stands for molarity with units of mol/L. Molarity
is a measure of the concentration of a solution. If you knew the concentration of one
of the solutions, the molarity could be found in this way. The concept plan would go
as follows: Volume of Titrant (in liters) x Moles of Titrant (mol) = moles of the
unknown, and then take Moles of the unknown / Liters of the unknown to get the
Molarity of the unknown in mol/L. 4
4. What are the benefits of using a light bulb as an indication of conductivity?
What are the disadvantages? The benefits are: it acts as a confident and direct way
of determining whether a solution should be classified as strong, weak, or non
electrolyte. A strong light would indicate a strong electrolyte. A dim light indicates a
weak electrolyte, and no light indicates a non electrolyte. However, the
disadvantages are the lack of accuracy in each reading, and conclusions that aren t
necessarily precise. Each reading displays a different level of light for each bulb.
Therefore, conductivity

Essay on quot;My Faith quot;
According to Hill, faith is a human act of will and a gift from God, involving deep
emotions and trust in ourselves and others, and requiring us to be involved with
other groups and communities. As it stands today, I believe that I can place myself
in the middle range of Stage 4 of faith development. However, I wasn t always this
confident in my relationship with God. Until recent changes in my life, there is no
doubt in my mind that my faithcould be categorized only in low Stage 3. Hill points
out that faith is about the human response to experience, and after several turning
points in my life I agree.
The beginning of my faith journey can be described as rocky, at best. Each Sunday
morning my dad would stay home just so that he ... Show more content on

After nearly two years, our congregation finally connected with a wonderful pastor.
I gradually began attending church again, and quickly became close to my new
pastor. He has helped me to understand the wonderful ways of God, more
importantly, in a manner that allows me to think and believe as I choose. For me,
believing and having faith in God was as simple as being encouraged to think as an
individual, and being told that I didn t have to view things in the same way as
everybody else.
My pastor isn t the only person who has had an influence on the development of
my faith. My boyfriend for over a year now has made a huge impact on my life. He
is studying to be a pastor and has been nothing short of amazing to me. He has
taught me patience and shown me how to pray with all of my heart and soul to
God; from him I learned that God is always there to listen to me and to guide me.
David has been here with me as my faith has slowly expanded and taken shape, and
has helped me to get in touch with God during this important time in my faith journey.
Another reason that my faith has evolved is because I have finally been able to make
a connection between the community service work I have done/am doing and my
relationship with God. From Girl Scouts, Big Brothers Big Sisters, church youth
group missions, school activities, and more, my hours dedicated to improving the
community are countless. However, listing all the service
Essay On College Football Playoffs
College Football Playoffs
Imagine a world where The College Football Playoffs were so intense it would have
everyone on their toes in excitement. It would brighten everyone s day to be able to
come home and host a friendly party for these big games. Therefore College Football
Playoffs are a very well liked new system. The College Football Playoffs is a bracket
of four teams to decide who is the best college football team. This system replaced
a computer poll that pick the top two teams of college football and had them play
together for the championship. The College Football Playoffs started in the 2014
season and has not been around for too long. It was Larry Culpeper s idea to put
four teams into a bracket and play as if it was a tournament( Oster). This however has
its weaknesses. Adding these extra post season games ... Show more content on

The teams can play up to thirteen games in their regular season and then they still
have playoffs. This is way too long. Some of the non conference games are not
matched by very many people so they could be removed without feelings hurt
(Schultz). This is important because having a super long season with games that
people do not really care about is not exciting. Shorting the regular season games
would allow for the fan to be more interested and would make an opportunity to add
more playoff games.
Although many would argue against College Football Playoffs, the reasons for the
playoffs far outway the reasons against. Opponents argue that the playoffs are a
more fair than computer polls(CNN). The playoffs are weak because the old
computer polls weren t random, they were based on points and game difficulty.
Someone could play crappy teams all year and look like number one but not be the
best team. This is weak because the playoffs are too short, it s biased, and it extends
the season too long. College Football Playoffs must be changed back to computer
Greed And Morality In Chaucer s The Pardoner
Societies around the world have established their own versions of a hierarchy, a set
amount of social classes distinguishing between the wealthy and the pariahs of a
society, and it has ultimately defined how one lives. Chaucer, the author credited
with for writing The Canterbury Tales has made clear through his writing that
people live different lives and in a variety of ways some as being manipulative and
greedy others as intellectual;s exploring the world. Being higher on the social
roller coaster does not necessarily make someone better due to the money and fancy
materialistic items it can change a person, but not for the better. Chaucer writes
about a character named the Pardoner who lies and manipulates people into buying
fake relics and does things like telling people that for the right price he is more than
happy to pardon them. This then leads to him to choosing greed over the
responsibility and duty he has as a Pardoner. The Pardoner demonstrates a clear
understanding of the wrongful things he is doing such as, letting greed and
entitlement overwhelmed him and lying to innocent people in order to scam more
money, but continues with no conscience or worry of the consequences. Through the
character of the Pardoner, the upper class believes that they are entitled to certain
privileges because having power makes it acceptable to be maniacal and
manipulative. To begin with, the Pardoner is portrayed as evil and greedy, someone
that feels power and money trump
Foundationalism In William Shakespear s Much Ado
About...
The word Foundationalism was given a clear definition by Descartes, meaning
someone looking for a clear and certain foundation. There is a way to accomplish
this task, meaning order to find or build a foundation or a base that is certain, one
must first destroy everything one believes to know start from the very beginning. The
goal is to find things that are absolute indubitable , meaning it is 100 percent certain
or it can not under any circumstances be doubted (Descartes 13). The play Much ado
about nothingwritten by William Shakespear would not be the first thing that comes
to mind when considering anything being indubitable. It is entails clear social and
genderissues of its time. With this essay, I wish to point out how the men boast
themselves in so much honor and masculinity, that they are easily blinded by a
simple lie. So simple in fact, that it took an entire plot built on Hero s death to
reveal the truth. If a woman s mind, body and soul were more valuable, there would
have been no need to lie and deceive once more to prove Hero s innocence. This is
important, because women are still judged more harshly for being involved with a
man before marriage, or having multiple partners. While men can marry after being
known to be very far from celibacy themselves, but wish to have a virgin or a
woman with fewer and closer to zero sexual partners. This misogynistic double
standard was carried into the movie by Kenneth Branagh. In this case, first I would

The Reflection Of Living With Jesus Christ In The World
While living and serving in a Chiang Mai prison in Thailand, I met with a radical
Muslim man named, Ali, who was serving a life sentence in the Thai prison because,
he murdered a Thai woman. As growing up in Pakistan, it is very challenging to love
those who persecute and hate you. Initially, he didn t want to do anything with
Christianity. But after meeting him for at least six months, with difficult
conversations, he decided to accept JesusChrist as his personal savior. From that
point on, I had to leave all my hard feelings behind and accept him as a part of the
body of Christ and take care of him. Honestly, I had to listen him cry and suffer in the
Thai prison. But in the midst of all that suffering, I had to stand right beside him,
fight for his basic rights in the Thai judicial system, communicate with the Pakistani
embassy in Bangkok, Thailand, and wrap my arms around him.
Today, we will learn together from the passage 1 Corinthians 12:12 27 in which
Paul uses a metaphor of a body to describe diversity and unity in the body of Christ
and its functions and how do we need to take care of those who are facing extreme
persecution.
Slide 2
Using metaphors were and still are pretty common in the Middle Eastern culture to
obtain deeper understanding of a phenomenon. In the Old Testament, the term body
mostly refers to the physical body. But here Paul uses the term body in a
metaphorical way to help its readers to understand the intertwine relationship in the
universal

Eco Friendly And Edible Silverware
Eco Friendly/ Edible Silverware Our environment has a lot of problems with waste
that we create and it is getting more out of hand each year. Waste is harming
wildlife, rivers, plants, and humans. I have come up with a solution to this global
problem and reasons why we need it. My solution is to develop eco friendly/edible
silverware. Biodegradable means to have the capability of being able to
decompose by bacteria and other living organisms. Biodegradable products are
made out of natural plant materials like corn or sugarcane. I believe biodegradable
products is a good way to reduce waste and keep our environment healthy, unlike
plastic, which many products consist of. General everyday plastic is made out of
one of Earth s limited resources, oil. Oil takes up to three hundred million years to
form. Also, oil based products that are not reusable, and end up in one of the world
s many landfills, which takes up to one thousand years to decompose. Oil based
products also end being washed into seas or oceans, and overtime the plastic
products can release poisonous toxins, harming wildlife, or polluting nearby rivers.
Comparing biodegradable products to plastic products you can see that
biodegradable products use up to seventy percent less carbon dioxide to produce
than plastic products. It also only takes twelve weeks for biodegradable products to
decompose. Recycling waste is a simple answer to our problem, but instead the
shortage of waste treatment systems can resort in

The Benefits Of Potato Farms
Yukon Gold, Idaho Russet, Yams, Fingerling, Reds, and Sweet. These are some of
the potato varieties most often found in stores. There are thousands more varieties,
but a large majority aren t commonly known, especially to most Oregonians.
Potatoes are all over, but potato farms are scarce in Oregon. Oregon farmers should
strive to expand and increase the variety of potatoes grown in Oregon to locally
produce a healthier, more cost efficient potato. Having potatoes grown in Oregon
would make the product healthier from lack of GMO s. The potatoes would be
grown here, so they wouldn t need to be shipped very far. This would reduce the
amount of chemicals put into the potatoes meant to preserve the physical
appearance. By reducing the chemicals, this would be making the potato much
healthier for consumers. In Making a Visual Argument: Apples to Oranges, it
compares the different distances food in Canada had to travel, when producing
local and transporting from a distant farm. The distance food traveled from a local
farm in Colborne to a farm in Toronto, in miles, was nearly 20 times less б·ѕthan
transporting from a farm in Orange County (Ironside 646 7). By producing food in
Orange County, then transporting it to Canada, the large amount of chemicals
needed to preserve the freshness, would be decreasing the healthiness of the potato
and increasing the price for consumers.

James. Son of Zebedee
Lesson 1: The James of the Gospels
Introduction
The name James appears frequently in gospel narratives. There are three separate
James mentioned amidst the early church in Jerusalem: James, the Son of Zebedee;
James the Less; and James the righteous. Correct interpretation of which James is
being mentioned when discerning Scripture is imperative.
James, the Son of Zebedee James was the son of righteous parents, Zebedee and
Salome, who lived on the shore of Galilee, consecrating their industry with piety and
educating their children through honest toll manly virtue. James entire family was
involved in the ministry of Jesus. Zebedee, father of James and John, was a well
known businessman and possibly a financial contributor to Jesus ministry. Salome,
the wife of Zebedee, was an active follower of Christ. James and John, the sons of
Zebedee, became two of the three inner apostles and were counted within the
called twelve apostles. James father was Zebedee, whom some presume resided in
Bethsaida or Capernaum. Peterson states, Zebedee and his two sons operated a
thriving fishing business on the Sea of Galilee in partnership with another set of
renowned brothers, Andrew and Phillip (Luke 5:7 10). It is surmised that Zebedee
was a man of influence because he marketed some of his choice produce among the
elite in Jerusalem (John 18: 16). Additionally, we find in Mark 1:19 20 that the sons
left their father with the hired servants

Essay on Electronic Threats to Medical Data
Medical Center data is extremely important to keep very secure. Hackers may have
the ability to alter treatments to be initiated to paitients if they are able to alter
documents: paitients must be informed therefore and agree with all treatment
protocols to be initiated. If patients are correctly informed about their treatments they
can be given the ability to remember and know when things have changed.
Uninformed patients may not even know the details of their treatments, this cannot
happen. Don t assume that hackers will not try to do things of this nature if they can.
In addition people may hire hackers to do certain things: medical centers cannot rely

It is not that people can t be trusted, sometimes those who can be trusted the most

this purpose is an extreme; thus hardware sectors, and software protocols should
be set up to become more complete. Actually these sequences should be taken very
seriously, almost to a point of sickness, but not sickness, so that medical centers
abroad can treat the ill. Local area Networks (LANs) are a required option to use
when dealing with theses dilemmas. You would not want to have to rely on a

If information is to be relayed to other medical centers in the area, such a network

What technological innovation strategies are currently evident?
In 2015 there are different types on Technological innovation strategies that are
used within the banking sector such as customer experience, in store or on a social

were able to transfer money around in their different accounts and then to different
people for different reasons. Barclays Created a mobile app called Barclays Ping It
where there a customer is able transfer money to another person via the person s

With Barclays there customers are using the mobile banking app about 24 times a

Nelson Mandela Flaws
On July 18th, 1918 a natural born leader, Nelson Mandela was born. Nelson
Mandela was the only one in his family with education and an aspiring heart to end
segregation, specifically within his country South Africa. At the age of 46,
Mandela was sentenced to life in prison for conspiracy to overthrow the state.
Though he was convicted and obtained fewer privileges than the average person
due to his ethnicity, it did not put the light out in his charismatic soul. After serving
27 years in jail and being confined to a small cell with no bed Nelson was released
on February 11th, 1990. Following his release Mandela was elected president of the
national liberation movement and in 1994 was elected as the first black president in

Being wrongly imprisoned would make the average person obtain hostility and
bitterness towards the person(s) who misdid them. Nelson Mandela, wrongly
accused and confined for far too long holds null grudges to the people that
wronged him. Nelson forgives and moves on once he is set free from prison just
so he can better the country. One of the many flaws of people is that they cannot
let go of the past when people have wronged them, but Mandela does not acquire
this flaw as he has been dishonoured on a greater level. The act of forgiveness puts
Mandela as an exceptional person and more powerful because he can let things go.
Peacemaking is not always about past events, but can be made in the future through
hard work. Nelson makes it his duty to unite an entire country through a sport that is
not yet affiliated with both ethnicities. Rugby is the game he chooses to integrate an
entire country, even though Mandela knows there are going to be challenges and
problems that come with it. A leader is one that accepts disapproval with open arms
and nurtures it until it becomes something amazing, inspiring and potentially world
moving. Mandela s peacemaking is successful when his presence and well thought
out ideas embellishes an ethical stance that plants a seed that will grow forever in the

Toad As An Extended Metaphors In Toads By Philip Larkin
In the poem Toads by Philip Larkin, the title announces a metaphor, specifically an
extended metaphor which dominates the poem, which is Larkin utilizing a toad as an
extended metaphor for work and obligation, in order to communicate his idea that
individuals have a difficult time living a fulfilling life, due to one s personal obligation
, as well social expectations. Furthermore, the toadis compared to his obligations in
life, as well the life of others who do not work, in order to convey the idea that
individuals feel they are living an unfulfilling life, as a result of personal sense of
obligation, as well social expectations. In addition, the use of figurative language
helps to communicate the idea with greater vividness, being it emphasizes that the
speaker is questioning if his work, is worth his time, being it takes a vast majority
of it, in addition, it is just to get by. Altogether, Larkin s utilizes an extended
metaphor, comparing a toad to work and obligations, in order to bolster his idea with
greater force than a prosaic description would have achieved.
Firstly, the usage of a toad as an the extended metaphor, for work and obligation,
upholds
Larkin s idea of work being difficult for individuals as a result of one s personal sense
of obligation, as well social expectations, as illustrated by comparing the speaker to
the lives of others. As evident, in the excerpt Are skinny as whippets and yet/ No
one actually starves (Lines 19 20), the speaker, the hard working toad is comparing

Moreover, the citation Losels, loblolly men, louts They don t end as paupers

personal sense of obligation, by comparing the toads sense of self obligation to
work, to the absence of it for people, thus revealing they are all able to live the
same way, due to they avoid work, however the speaker does not chose to follow
that route. Altogether, Larkins, usage of a toad as an extended metaphor for work
and obligation, helps convey his idea with more force than

The Success of Innocent Drinks Using Competing Values...
THE SUCCESS OF INNOCENT DRINKS USING COMPETING VALUES
FRAMEWORK AND PESTEL ANALYSIS.
Innocent Drinks was started by three friends in 1999 that developed premium
smoothies that contained 100% natural fruit with no water or added sugar. The aim
was to provide people with quick ready to go and healthy food and drink options. The
company is now one of the best loved and fastest growing businesses in Britain. The
highly successful Innocent Drinks sells $2 million smoothies per week across
Europe, building a 72% market share in the 8 years since they were founded (Anne
2008). They give 10% of their profit to charity and continually participate in fund
raising activities such as The Big Knit . Throughout the years, Innocent has managed

According to Jonathan Salem (2009), a global brand strategist, Innocent s branding
brilliance is its unconventional marketing which is considered ethical as it gives lots
of money away and maintains a cuddly tone in its adds, on its website and even on
its labels. This way it has no doubt delighted its customers with its straightforward
approach to business using a simple down to earth communications technique that
mirrors the honesty of the brand and its products. The product is also successful as
in today s busy working lifestyle people want to be healthy but don t have time and
look for quick options in ready made food and drinks that are healthy. People today
are also very health conscious and want to eat healthy so innocent provide a great
option being 100% natural with good taste at the same time.
Over a year ago, Innocent invested with Coca Cola. They sold a minority stake of
between 10% and 20% in order to raise funds so it could expand into Europe. This
has been a good decision for the company as the business has grown in Europe over
the last year by the help of Coke (Innocent Drinks 2009).
The rational goal model emphasises control and an external focus and views
planning, goal setting, productivity and efficiency as effective. Innocent employ
experts in all areas from web designers to nutritionists to sales representatives which
means everyone works in their specialized field to get the best possible outcomes for
the company. This is important as in some

the places to visit recommended by our ship s location guide. As soon as I arrived

walk from the train station. After walking for more than ten minutes, I still found
myself in a residential area, no town center in sight. I pulled the map from my bag
to see I was still on track, but the map was gone. I must have dropped it. I continued
to walk intuitively towards the bay when suddenly I heard music from a distance. I
followed the sound to arrive in the town center to some sort of festival. I saw young
girls up on the stage, dancing to American pop music. The atmosphere was like
something you would find in the US: an outdoor mall lined with popular stores like

lined the streets. I continued to walk to some random place hoping to find the

The History of Gothic Architecture in Italy Essay
Abbott Suger wanted to make Saint Denis a magnificent showplace as the royal
Abbey church of France and burial place of French kings. Ribbed vault which were
capable of spanning large areas was designed to make gothic churches larger.
These Gothic Churches were characterized by enlarged clerestory zone, windows
enormous size with inserted new zone and triforium below the ribbed vaults and
supporting of an arcade of high piers lining of the nave. These characteristics
ensured the support of the greater stress of taller, broader interiors and to create
larger window areas as well as the external supports.

Collectively, they were a force to be reckoned with, and from these Guilds, or trades
was born the establishment of our modern system of our modern building labor force
infrastructure. The establishment of secret societies, such as the Freemasons also
came about as a result of the building of cathedrals using Gothic architecture.
The 11th to 15th centuries saw a great surge of the Christian Church within Europe
which was emphasized by the persuasiveness of the Crusades. The growing
population of the Church increased the demand for the increased presence in
architectural monuments and during the Romanesque and Gothic periods, a great
cathedral construction boom occurred across Europe.
The Romanesque and Gothic architectural styles were distinctive in not only the
massiveness of the Romanesque monuments and the introduction of the cruciform
plan but also for the introduction of the Gothic era art within the Cathedrals which
included the inclusion of art the radiating Rose Window, column figures and the
gargoyle among many others. Within Europe, there was a progression of architectural
styles, many of which are still evident in the monuments today. The major styles are
considered as Carolingian (800 900 AD); Ottonian (1000s); Romanesque (1000s
1100s); Gothic (late 1100s 1400s). While Romanesque is considered as the
architectural style which preceded the Gothic, many of the distinct Romanesque

The Doctrine Of Separate Personality And Lifting The Veil...
The Doctrine of Separate Personality has been an important aspect in the Company
Law for a long time. It had been discussed heavily in the Salomon v Salomon CO
(1987) which was the leading case for this matter (Dine and Koutsias, 2009, p.17).
In fact, it may be the most well known case in the company law. Company law is
simply any laws that related to organizations and businesses in the UK. However,
the one that established the doctrine of separate personality is not from Salomon
case, it simply permitted its application to one man and private companies (Kelly,
Hammer and Hendy, p.356). Under the separate personality is said to be a veil that
separated between the owners and the business. This veil can actually be pierced
whether under a companies legislation or common law. Thus, in this essay there will
be discussions about the matter of separate personality and lifting the veil of
incorporation with reference of the leading case Salomon v Salomon CO and other
cases that are related.
From the beginning of the judicial history, the lawyers and judges have emphasized
about how a corporation is an intangible legal entity alone without body or soul
(Arthur and Machen, 1911). The doctrine of separate legal personality basically is
about how a corporation and the owners were two different entity (Kelly, Hammer
and Hendy, 2014). The Limited Liability Act which replaced by the Joint Stock
Companies Act 1856, is where the members are only liable up to the amount that

Then when the water was heated, I noticed that the Mg started to bubble and
continued to fizz even as the water cooled, and I noted that the Mg turned from a
silver to a slight copper color after being boiled in water. I also observed that any
substance containing copper had very remarkable reactions. The pure copper
beads turned black when heated directly over the flame, but not when boiled. The
copper (II) carbonate (CuCO3) was in a powder form and turned black when
heated directly over the flame. When it was mixed with cold water it dissolved in
the liquid creating a milky green liquid. When that same liquid was heated to a
boil, the CuCO3 separated back away from the water back into a powder form. The
Copper (II) Nitrate had the most impressive reactions of all the substances in my
mind.. The substance turned yellowish green and dissolved immediately when
introduced to HCl. When it was heated directly over the flame it melted and started
producing gas in the test tube. When mixed with cold water it dissolved into a clear
blue liquid, but then behaved very violently when boiled with water. Magnesium
Oxide let off gaseous vapors when heated, and also behaved very violently when
boiled with water. This substance also got very hot when mixed with the HCl. The
substance with the least observable changes was NaCl. The most remarkable thing
that this substance did is that it dissolved in every liquid added to it.

Children who made mistakes were lawfully treated the same way as adults who

Illinois was the first state to have a separate court system for juveniles. The court
act stated that a person under the age of 16 was considered a minor. It also meant
that when they would do something bad, they would be delinquents, not criminals.
Being a delinquent is nowhere near as bad as being a criminal, so it would not
follow them around all of their lives. From there, the delinquent had their own
court of law. That court differed from the normal court in many ways. Delinquents
would almost never get sent to jail. Most of the time, they would be sent to reform
homes or better known in today s day and age as a correctional facility. Most
children who were delinquents had a history of abuse, neglect, or very poor
families. The lack of love and attention from their home lives would often make
them resort to doing things illegally. The reform homes would teach them to make
better choices, as well as how to do basic life skills, similar to hull houses. Children
who would leave these homes would live happy lives, for the most part, and would
make good choices for the rest of their lives. With the reforming homes, these kids
learned to change their ways, that they could be better kids, instead of being told
that they were criminals and needed to be punished by being put in jail. What illinois
did not know was that this law about juvenile discipline would be the building block

The Mending Wall by Robert Frost Essay
The Mending Wall by Robert Frost
Robert Frost was not just a writer. Frost was, more importantly, an American writer
whose works epitomized the Modernist literary movement, and in turn represented
the mood and minds of a nation. Frost remains emblematic of a specific time in our
country. Through the words of the poet, readers of his day could see a real time
reflection of themselves visible in
Frost s verses were the hopes and apprehensions that marked the first half of the
twentieth century. However, in his ability to express this unlikely mixture of
cynicism and sentiment,
Frost did more than capture the attention of his contemporaries he captured the times

Yet, under scrutiny these lines of seeming simplicity reveal a wealth of profundity.
The something there is that doesn t love a wall destroys the structure with frozen
ground swell could be construed as Nature defying the works human hands.
However, it probable that which does not love a wall is not simple nature, but Human
Nature.
The frozen ground swell is the cold heart that permeates the building of such a wall,
and the eventual warming of the heart spills the upper boulders in the sun . For Frost,
a man living in a time when the industrial revolution and all the advances of the new
century, the twentieth century, were making our fenced in wallsarchaic structures in
an emerging homogeneoous society. In fact, the gaps in the wallwere big enough that
...two could pass abreast. This is an important idea. The holes in the wall were not
for one, but for two. A fence has two sides, two identities, two purposes. In the
gaping holes of the wall, both that which is restricted and that which restricts, are
allowed simultaneous freedom of movement. This is an exemplary idea for a time
when many restraints in America, socially and physically, were being defied. Further
in the poem, the speaker tells of the mending of the wall with, And on a day we
meet to walk the line/And set the wall between us once again/We keep the wall
between us as we go/To
Technological Advancements Affecting Social Classes
Additionally, the role of government in (either promoting or regulating) technological
and scientific advancement has contributed to the stratification of society into
distinct social classes (some of which suffer very much because of it). In many
ways, the technological revolution and its consequences have been a disaster for the
citizens of the lower social classes. Technological advances made people s lives
easier and faster, but they also led to the creation of large amounts of wealth as well
as, more importantly, the unequal distribution of that wealth. This is something that
might not be as readily apparent in modern society since social classes are so
embedded how people think about the world, but, without technological
advancements,
The I Reasonably Enjoyed Reading The Loudest Duck
I reasonably enjoyed reading The Loudest Duck; it was very informative and gave
me very different points of view. It hit the ground running with a statistic that as of
2010 there were 13 women and 4 blacks that were CEO s for Fortune 500
companies (Liswood 3). These proportions are drastically lower than what it would
be if it followed the population of the U.S. Looking at this simply, it shows that
females and blacks (along with other non dominant groups) are disadvantaged in
some way along the path to becoming a CEO of a great company. This is in
agreement with the PowerPoint from the Africa and Diaspora event, which showed
that blacks and other races were being disproportionally put imprisoned and killed.
The Loudest Duck describes the differences between the dominant group and the non
dominant group through the symbolism of the dominant group as an elephant and
the non dominant group as a mouse. The idea is that the elephant doesn t needto pay
attention to what the mouse does or care about its thoughts, but the mouse needs to
learn the elephant s behavior and the way it reacts in order to survive being around
the elephant (Liswood 31 41). This was a very clear way of explaining the
difference and I think it fits the US on many different ways. At a national level many
citizens of the US have very little knowledge of what happens in other countries, other
than what the media tells us about what the US is doing, but citizens of other
countries actually pay
A Good Teacher Essay
Who is a teacher and what makes a good teacher? By definition, a teacher is a
person who teaches, especially in school, but can anyone be a teacher? That is a
matter of the possession of qualification and the overall talent utilized whilst on the
workforce. Having such qualification simply doesn t create a good teacher, though.
Becoming a good teacher requires work, effort and time that one must be willing
to sacrifice from their daily lives. A good teacher must be able to teach the students
clearly. He/she must be well prepared, whether it is regarding the lesson of the day
or any sudden questions the pupil may ask. A good teacher should have confidence
with themselves and be organized at all times. A good teacher respects his/her job
and tries to be as effective as possible.
But from being a good teacher, there is one higher form of teachers ranking and
that is being a great and effective teacher. Being a good teacher is easy, but being a
great teacher requires more effort than what is usually expected and required. With
being a great teacher, teaching is not a job, but a ... Show more content on

Urinalysis: What s in your urine?
Introduction
The urinary tract consists of two kidneys, two ureters, one bladder and one urethra.
Its major function is to remove waste products from our bodies and help regulate the
volume and composition of blood by the production and excretion of urine. This
drainage system is carried out by nephrons, the functional unit of the kidney, in three
subsequent steps: filtration, reabsorption and secretion. When blood enters the renal
artery of the kidneys, the blood plasma is filtered by blood pressure forcing fluid
across the glomerulus capillary membranes. Glomerular filtration creates a plasma
like filtrate of the blood. Filtrate moves through the proximal ... Show more content

All subjects were given two urinalysis sticks and instructed to drink a pint of water
at the beginning of the lab period. Then, each subject would go to the restroom
using their first dipstick and hold the strip under the flow of the urine. Next, their
urine contents were measured by comparing the colors of the individual pads
against the standards provided. The color of each urine sample was also recorded.
The time was also recorded to observe how long it took for each subject to urinate
again after they finished the pint of water. Each subject used the restroom a second
time, using a new dipstick, and evaluated their urine contents again.
Results
In tables 1a 1b, the urinalysis lab results are presented for subjects 1 3 at two separate
intervals. The initial recording was taken at 8:45 for all subjects (Table 1a). The color
of the urine samples ranged from a clear, light yellow to yellow. The pH observed
was acidic, with subject 1 and 2 having a urine pH of 6 and subject 3 with a urine
pH of 5. The leukocyte esterase test showed up as positive for subject 3, with only
a trace of white blood cells present in subjects 1 and 2. There was no significant
amount of protein (trace amounts in subjects 1 and 3) or ketones present in any of
the subjects, and glucose levels were normal. However, in the case of red blood cells,
250 erythrocytes/mL were present in subjects 2 and 3. The second set of data was
One Hundred Years Of Solitude Analysis
One Hundred Years of Solitude Essay
Imagine being alone all your life and dying without being remembered. That was a
bad way to explain One Hundred Years Of Solitude by Gabriel GarcГa MГЎrquez, as
he illustrates the story of seven generations of the BuendГa family and the town of
Macondo that is isolated from the rest of the world and its founder, JosГ© Arcadio
BuendГa and his wife Гљrsula IguarГЎn. Throughout the family tree, many fortunes
and misfortunes occurred which soon led it to the familyЕ› downfall because of the
major theme of death plaguing them. For instance, the death of the town of Macondo
and Aureliano, the last member of the BuendГa family, ties in the facts that the wipe
out of the BuendГa s and the existence of Macondo stops the cycle of death being
forgotten by the living and how solitude affect death making it illuminate the
meaning of One Hundred Years of Solitudeas a whole. For example, MГЎrquez s
final line of his novel ended the dreaded cycle of the family being that, everything
written of them was unrepeatable since time immemorial and forever more, because
races condemned to one hundred years of solitude did not have a second opportunity
on this earth (421). The entire bloodline of the BuendГa s was just a repeating cycle
of misfortunes that was just a cancer of the earth that just needed to be cleansed. If
you have been bitten on the arm by a snake, the venom will travel up the bloodstream
with high chances of death but if you cut your arm off

Firstly, the subject matter itself is complex and multifaceted, requiring in-depth research and understanding of various scientific, medical, ethical, and social aspects. Exploring the effects of steroids on the human body, their use in sports and athletics, the ethical dilemmas surrounding their legality and regulation, and their impact on society as a whole involves delving into a broad range of interconnected issues. Moreover, addressing the topic of steroids in an essay requires a nuanced approach that acknowledges the complexities and contradictions inherent in the subject matter. One must navigate through conflicting viewpoints, such as the arguments for the therapeutic benefits of steroids in medical treatments versus the concerns about their misuse and abuse in sports and bodybuilding. Balancing these contrasting perspectives while presenting a coherent and well- supported argument can be demanding, requiring careful attention to detail and effective rhetorical strategies. In addition, discussing steroids often involves engaging with sensitive issues related to performance enhancement, body image ideals, athlete health and safety, fair competition, and the broader cultural attitudes towards physical fitness and enhancement. • 4. An Occurrence At Owl Creek Bridge Essay In the short story, An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge, by the Realist author, Ambrose Bierce, claimed to prefer the representative rather than the extraordinary a face of life that is generally untrue. For example, the details throughout the story sight proved that the author had witnessed the situation and had his story to truthfully tell, He was a captain. A sentinel at each end of the bridge stood with his rifle in the position known as support, that is to say, vertical in front of the left shoulder, the hammer resting on the forearm, thrown straight across the chest a formal and unnatural position, enforcing an erect carriage of the body (457) He did not express his opinion on the topic itself, but only explained the situation specifically... From this state, he was awakened ages later it seemed to him by the pain of a sharp pressure upon his throat [...] (458) In a hypocritical way, Realist authors got the reader s hopes up by insisting on one circumstance while foreshadowing the character s death through an unconscious state as if he had already passed. Realism indicated an acknowledgment of facts instead of assumptions and took advantage of this time to show accurate descriptions of American history. In The Ledge, by Lawrence sargent Hall, he claimed that Naturalism was expressed through his use of detached style of narration, accuracy of detail, and individuals being controlled by society. If the story were from a personal perspective, situations throughout it would be perceived in a different and more biased way, Is it time to shoot now? asked his nephew. Pretty soon, he said. As if he were putting off making good on a promise. Not yet. His own boy cried softly for a brief moment, like a man, his face averted in an effort neither to give or show pain. A balanced diet of grasses, hay and pellets needs to be provided in the correct ratio to ensure gastrointestinal tract motility. • 6. A Comparison Of Count Dracula And Edward Cullen Vampires have aroused a perennial fascination within humanity since their fictional materialization into history. However, it is over the course of the last century that these creatures have become an iconic symbol of mystifying horror and inexplicable desire. Recently, the vampire has undergone a significant reconstruction of physical appearance, behaviour, and surroundings, along with, extensive modifications to its super natural disadvantages. These distinct character adaptations are imperative when considering two of the most notable vampires ever fashioned: Count Draculaand Edward Cullen. The dissimilarity between Bram Stoker s 19th century, Count Dracula, and Stephenie Meyer s 21st century, Edward Cullen, is a complex reflection of the contrasting societies from which these vampires emerged. The acute variation between the presented images of Dracula and Edward mirror the different perspectives, held by the cultures that birthed them, on the importance of physical appearance. For example, Dracula s facial description is very strong, with a thin nose, a lofty domed forehead, and enormous eyebrows, almost meeting over the nose (Stoker 25 26). Attributes such as these are not standard descriptors of an overwhelmingly enticing appearance, but rather, detail an elderly or distinguished gentleman. Contrastingly, the depiction of Edward s facial features is outwardly alluring, with descriptions such as, flawless (Meyer 162) and devastatingly, inhumanly beautiful

Many problems that can drastically effect the movement, structure, and even the blood supply of the body occur within the skeletal system. Among these diseases are ankylosing spondylitis and a herniated nucleus pulposus. Ankylosing Spondylitis is a type of arthritis that attacks the spine and, in some people, the joints of the arms and legs. The most common symptoms of ankylosing spondylitis are chronic painand stiffness in the lower back, buttocks, and hips that usually develops slowly over several weeks or months (Ankylosing Spondylitis, 2016). This is because the disease is hereditary. The major gene that causes ankylosing spondylitis, according to John D. Reveille, MD of the American College of Rheumatology, is HLA B27. However, up to 30 genes have been known to cause the disease. Ankylosing spondylitis is a somewhat rare disease. Based on data from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey, the frequency of ankylosing spondylitis in the U.S. is 0.5 percent (Reveille, 2013). To diagnose ankylosing spondylitis, the doctor will rely on medical history, a physical examination of joints and spine, imaging test of the pelvis, and also a blood test to check for the HLA B27 gene. Having the HLA B27 gene doesn t specifically mean that someone has ankylosing spondylitis; but it is a clue to help support the diagnosis (Ankylosing Spondylitis, 2016). The diagnosis relies on the doctor s judgment overall. The treatment focuses on reducing pain and stiffness, preventing deformities, and allowing for patients to lead normal, healthy lives. All patients with ankylosing spondylitis should get physical therapy and do exercises that promote spinal extension and mobility. The doctor may

Persuasive Speech On Alcohol Alcohol guidelines are set clearly and the standard amount is stated clearly, yet 88000 people are killed of alcohol and 10000 people are killed of alcohol impaired driving every year. Despite the large number of deaths caused by alcohol in the past years, people seem to still continue in overtaking alcohol. There also seems to be an addictionon alcohol and most people cannot stop drinking after their first try and have slowly made it into a habit, drinking it at a daily basis, and people seem to just forget/ignore the harms that the overdose of alcohol brings to us. I believe that this is because they are still unaware of the consequences in overtaking alcohol, and therefore I am going to clarify and show just how bad overtaking alcohol is.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... All it takes is willpower and determination. Since recovery is a long and gradual process, don t give any excuses to yourself on drinking during recovery. That will just make you addicted again, causing the problem to be even more severe. Through this period of recovery, patients should avoid bad influences and temptations which cause you to feel desperate without alcohol. Those will only drag down your progress on the long pathway of recovery. If you have tried to solve addiction in the past and have failed, reflect on your past experiences. Think about what you have done wrong which has caused the failure of your plan and avoid that. You want to be able to solve this problem as quick as possible, or else the feeling of desperation for alcohol will slowly build up once more. Due to the withdrawal from alcohol, there may be several mild side effects, including headache, shaking, diarrhea, vomiting and so on, but it is all worth it if you can solve your addiction in the long run, no matter how heavy the price is. From short stories like The Yellow Wallpaper, to the court cases like Ellen Pao s Suit vs. Kleiner Perkins, and even a data book like Women in the Labor Force, it is clear to see that inequality and mistreatment of women still exists today. People often say that inequality is a thing of the past, however it has been a serious problem since the dawning of civilization itself, and it is still so today. Women are often seen as lesser beings than men, and are treated accordingly. It is getting better, and women are starting to take their rightful places as equals in the workforce, and as equals in general. However, the world still has a long way to go before the inequality and mistreatment of women comes to a complete stop. In The Yellow Wallpaper, the authors explores the world through the eyes of the narrator. The narrator is a womanwho has been taken away to live in the countryside for the summer due to temporary nervous depression (Gilman). This diagnosis was done by her husband, a physician, who treats her more like a possession than a spouse. Though he has diagnosed her with this, he is seen saying that she is not really sick at all. He gives her incorrect medicines, not believing her when she says something is wrong. Throughout the story, it is shown that she is not ever taken seriously, her husband even going so far as to say that she shall be sick as she pleases (Gilman) this implying that she is making up her illness for attention, and that it is all

How could a conductometric titration be used to determine the molarity of either reacting solutions, assuming the concentration of one solution was known? HINT: Consider the variables needed to calculate molarity, and how can these values be obtained from the titration. The symbol M stands for molarity with units of mol/L. Molarity is a measure of the concentration of a solution. If you knew the concentration of one of the solutions, the molarity could be found in this way. The concept plan would go as follows: Volume of Titrant (in liters) x Moles of Titrant (mol) = moles of the unknown, and then take Moles of the unknown / Liters of the unknown to get the Molarity of the unknown in mol/L. 4 4. What are the benefits of using a light bulb as an indication of conductivity? What are the disadvantages? The benefits are: it acts as a confident and direct way of determining whether a solution should be classified as strong, weak, or non electrolyte. A strong light would indicate a strong electrolyte. A dim light indicates a weak electrolyte, and no light indicates a non electrolyte. However, the disadvantages are the lack of accuracy in each reading, and conclusions that aren t necessarily precise. Each reading displays a different level of light for each bulb. Therefore, conductivity

It would brighten everyone s day to be able to come home and host a friendly party for these big games. Therefore College Football Playoffs are a very well liked new system. The College Football Playoffs is a bracket of four teams to decide who is the best college football team. This system replaced a computer poll that pick the top two teams of college football and had them play together for the championship. The College Football Playoffs started in the 2014 season and has not been around for too long. Shorting the regular season games would allow for the fan to be more interested and would make an opportunity to add more playoff games. Although many would argue against College Football Playoffs, the reasons for the playoffs far outway the reasons against. Opponents argue that the playoffs are a more fair than computer polls(CNN). The playoffs are weak because the old computer polls weren t random, they were based on points and game difficulty. College Football Playoffs must be changed back to computer
  • 23. Greed And Morality In Chaucer s The Pardoner Societies around the world have established their own versions of a hierarchy, a set amount of social classes distinguishing between the wealthy and the pariahs of a society, and it has ultimately defined how one lives. Chaucer, the author credited with for writing The Canterbury Tales has made clear through his writing that people live different lives and in a variety of ways some as being manipulative and greedy others as intellectual;s exploring the world. Being higher on the social roller coaster does not necessarily make someone better due to the money and fancy materialistic items it can change a person, but not for the better. Chaucer writes about a character named the Pardoner who lies and manipulates people into buying fake relics and does things like telling people that for the right price he is more than happy to pardon them. This then leads to him to choosing greed over the responsibility and duty he has as a Pardoner. The Pardoner demonstrates a clear understanding of the wrongful things he is doing such as, letting greed and entitlement overwhelmed him and lying to innocent people in order to scam more money, but continues with no conscience or worry of the consequences. Through the character of the Pardoner, the upper class believes that they are entitled to certain privileges because having power makes it acceptable to be maniacal and manipulative. To begin with, the Pardoner is portrayed as evil and greedy, someone that feels power and money trump
  • 24. Foundationalism In William Shakespear s Much Ado About... The word Foundationalism was given a clear definition by Descartes, meaning someone looking for a clear and certain foundation. There is a way to accomplish this task, meaning order to find or build a foundation or a base that is certain, one must first destroy everything one believes to know start from the very beginning. The goal is to find things that are absolute indubitable , meaning it is 100 percent certain or it can not under any circumstances be doubted (Descartes 13). The play Much ado about nothingwritten by William Shakespear would not be the first thing that comes to mind when considering anything being indubitable. It is entails clear social and genderissues of its time. With this essay, I wish to point out how the men boast themselves in so much honor and masculinity, that they are easily blinded by a simple lie. So simple in fact, that it took an entire plot built on Hero s death to reveal the truth. If a woman s mind, body and soul were more valuable, there would have been no need to lie and deceive once more to prove Hero s innocence. This is important, because women are still judged more harshly for being involved with a man before marriage, or having multiple partners. While men can marry after being known to be very far from celibacy themselves, but wish to have a virgin or a woman with fewer and closer to zero sexual partners. This misogynistic double standard was carried into the movie by Kenneth Branagh. In this case, first I would like to look

But after meeting him for at least six months, with difficult conversations, he decided to accept JesusChrist as his personal savior. From that point on, I had to leave all my hard feelings behind and accept him as a part of the body of Christ and take care of him. Honestly, I had to listen him cry and suffer in the Thai prison. But in the midst of all that suffering, I had to stand right beside him, fight for his basic rights in the Thai judicial system, communicate with the Pakistani embassy in Bangkok, Thailand, and wrap my arms around him. Today, we will learn together from the passage 1 Corinthians 12:12 27 in which Paul uses a metaphor of a body to describe diversity and unity in the body of Christ and its functions and how do we need to take care of those who are facing extreme persecution. Biodegradable means to have the capability of being able to decompose by bacteria and other living organisms. Biodegradable products are made out of natural plant materials like corn or sugarcane. I believe biodegradable products is a good way to reduce waste and keep our environment healthy, unlike plastic, which many products consist of. There are thousands more varieties, but a large majority aren t commonly known, especially to most Oregonians. Potatoes are all over, but potato farms are scarce in Oregon. Oregon farmers should strive to expand and increase the variety of potatoes grown in Oregon to locally produce a healthier, more cost efficient potato. Having potatoes grown in Oregon would make the product healthier from lack of GMO s. The potatoes would be grown here, so they wouldn t need to be shipped very far. This would reduce the amount of chemicals put into the potatoes meant to preserve the physical appearance. By reducing the chemicals, this would be making the potato much healthier for consumers. There are three separate James mentioned amidst the early church in Jerusalem: James, the Son of Zebedee; James the Less; and James the righteous. Correct interpretation of which James is being mentioned when discerning Scripture is imperative. James, the Son of Zebedee James was the son of righteous parents, Zebedee and Salome, who lived on the shore of Galilee, consecrating their industry with piety and educating their children through honest toll manly virtue. James entire family was involved in the ministry of Jesus. Zebedee, father of James and John, was a well known businessman and possibly a financial contributor to Jesus ministry. Salome, the wife of Zebedee, was an active follower of Christ. James and John, the sons of Zebedee, became two of the three inner apostles and were counted within the called twelve apostles. James father was Zebedee, whom some presume resided in Bethsaida or Capernaum. Peterson states, Zebedee and his two sons operated a thriving fishing business on the Sea of Galilee in partnership with another set of renowned brothers, Andrew and Phillip (Luke 5:7 10). It is surmised that Zebedee was a man of influence because he marketed some of his choice produce among the elite in Jerusalem (John 18: 16). • 38. Toad As An Extended Metaphors In Toads By Philip Larkin In the poem Toads by Philip Larkin, the title announces a metaphor, specifically an extended metaphor which dominates the poem, which is Larkin utilizing a toad as an extended metaphor for work and obligation, in order to communicate his idea that individuals have a difficult time living a fulfilling life, due to one s personal obligation , as well social expectations. Furthermore, the toadis compared to his obligations in life, as well the life of others who do not work, in order to convey the idea that individuals feel they are living an unfulfilling life, as a result of personal sense of obligation, as well social expectations. In addition, the use of figurative language helps to communicate the idea with greater vividness, being it emphasizes that the speaker is questioning if his work, is worth his time, being it takes a vast majority of it, in addition, it is just to get by. Altogether, Larkin s utilizes an extended metaphor, comparing a toad to work and obligations, in order to bolster his idea with greater force than a prosaic description would have achieved. Firstly, the usage of a toad as an the extended metaphor, for work and obligation, upholds Larkin s idea of work being difficult for individuals as a result of one s personal sense of obligation, as well social expectations, as illustrated by comparing the speaker to the lives of others. As evident, in the excerpt Are skinny as whippets and yet/ No one actually starves (Lines 19 20), the speaker, the hard working toad is comparing himself to the lives of other, in order to reveal that others are living without working as a result of being able to handle not living up to the social expectations. Moreover, the citation Losels, loblolly men, louts They don t end as paupers (Lines 11 12), bolsters Larkins idea of work being difficult as a result of one s personal sense of obligation, by comparing the toads sense of self obligation to work, to the absence of it for people, thus revealing they are all able to live the same way, due to they avoid work, however the speaker does not chose to follow that route. Altogether, Larkins, usage of a toad as an extended metaphor for work and obligation, helps convey his idea with more force than

Being a delinquent is nowhere near as bad as being a criminal, so it would not follow them around all of their lives. From there, the delinquent had their own court of law. That court differed from the normal court in many ways. Delinquents would almost never get sent to jail. Most of the time, they would be sent to reform homes or better known in today s day and age as a correctional facility. Most children who were delinquents had a history of abuse, neglect, or very poor families. The lack of love and attention from their home lives would often make them resort to doing things illegally. The reform homes would teach them to make better choices, as well as how to do basic life skills, similar to hull houses. Children who would leave these homes would live happy lives, for the most part, and would make good choices for the rest of their lives. • 50. The I Reasonably Enjoyed Reading The Loudest Duck I reasonably enjoyed reading The Loudest Duck; it was very informative and gave me very different points of view. It hit the ground running with a statistic that as of 2010 there were 13 women and 4 blacks that were CEO s for Fortune 500 companies (Liswood 3). These proportions are drastically lower than what it would be if it followed the population of the U.S. Looking at this simply, it shows that females and blacks (along with other non dominant groups) are disadvantaged in some way along the path to becoming a CEO of a great company. This is in agreement with the PowerPoint from the Africa and Diaspora event, which showed that blacks and other races were being disproportionally put imprisoned and killed. The Loudest Duck describes the differences between the dominant group and the non dominant group through the symbolism of the dominant group as an elephant and the non dominant group as a mouse. The idea is that the elephant doesn t needto pay attention to what the mouse does or care about its thoughts, but the mouse needs to learn the elephant s behavior and the way it reacts in order to survive being around the elephant (Liswood 31 41). This was a very clear way of explaining the difference and I think it fits the US on many different ways.
