What Is The Theme Of The Sea By Lord Prufrock
The poem starts with him talking about a question he wants to ask. Throughout the poem, he walks
towards a destination and when he arrives he never dares to do anything; this is the attitude he
maintains during the poem. Alfred is a middle aged coward that has never pursued anything because
of what people might say; a man afraid of taking risks, or even decisions. A curious allusion he uses in
various lines of the poem is the sea and its related themes as: a pair of ragged claws scuttling across
the floors of silent seas, mermaids that don t sing to him and drowning. The sea allusion throughout
the poem can summarize it as a metaphor: he is the crab because he yearns the capacity of isolating
himself from the world, the woman is the mermaid ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This overthinking that he does is interesting because he overanalyzed every simple action that he does
or that someone around him does. Probably he feels asphyxiated at times when he is around a lot of
people. Thus, in the beach, when he drowns, he is having a kind of panic attack. At the whorehouse
there are a lot of people and music, this opens the possibility of Prufrock having a panic attack and
that is why he talks about the human voices that wake him from thinking about his lover and drown
him in a panic

Hindu Weddings Essay
Marriage is the institution whereby men and women are joined in a special kind of social and legal
dependence for the purpose of founding and maintaining a family. (Webster s Dictionary.) When a
couple gets married they make a vow in front of their loved ones and their God to be together for the
rest of their lives and abide by each other. In the Hindu religion, which is the third largest religion in
the world, weddings are very sacred, therefore a wedding ceremony takes a lot of time and effort and
it is composed of different rituals and ceremonies. The Hindu marriage, Lagna Vivah is the connection
of two human beings in a nuptial ceremony that takes place according to their religion. It s the

Therefore you can never marry someone outside your caste even if you are truly in love with someone
outside your caste your marriage will never be favored. If a couple still goes ahead and proceeds with
marrying even though they are from two different castes, there family will basically disown them and
so they will have to deal with a lot of public pressure from their family as well as outsiders. Today the
idea of arranged marriages is overlooked as a forced marriage from other society s point of views.
Hindus arrange their children to meet partners they think are well suitable for them but this does not
mean the son or daughter has to automatically marry this person they have been introduced to. They
have a choice whether to go along with it or not. They are not forced at any point to marry this person.
Years ago parents arranged their children marriages while their children were very young and even
babies. They understood that if the kids grew up together over the years they will learn everything
there was to know about each other and so everything will basically work out to their advantage. Even
though the girl was practically married at a very young age she did not have to live with her husband
until she was matured, until then she will just visit him and his family. The wedding will occur before
puberty, so the girl will

Ludwig Wittgenstein Research Paper
Considered by many to be one of the greatest philosophers of the 20th century. Ludwig Wittgenstein
was a man of many thoughts and emotions. His works in language and logic are his most famous, his
philosophy and opinions have left a mark in philosophy was we know it. Tractatus Logico
Philosophicus was a book he claimed that solved all questions in life, yet he wrote another book,
Philosophical Investigations, taking a similar yet different route. Now his works have left a lasting
impact even outside of philosophy.
The Austrian British philosopher, was born in Vienna, Austria, on April 26, 1889 to wealthy and well
known family. Although his family was Jewish Catholic he was raised as a protestant but was baptized
as a Roman Catholic. He was youngest of eight children; his family was greatly invested in the arts,
especially music. All of the children where musically gifted, and one of his brothers became a world
famous pianist. Even Ludwig had a perfect pitch and played the clarinet for all of his life. Yet with all
of that he also had a dark past his family had suicidal tendencies, and three out of four brothers had
committed suicide. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

In order to isolate bacteriophage specific for Salmonella,...
In order to isolate bacteriophage specific for Salmonella, we will following procedures below. Firstly,
we will inoculate 5 mL tryptic soy broth with Salmonella. Then we touch a colony of Salmonella by
using a sterile needle and transfer it to the tube consisting LB broth. After that, we incubate the culture
overnight at 37oC. The next day, we will inoculate another tube with 4.5 mL of water sample that we
take from poultry farm nearby that we suspect as source of Salmonella contamination on the squid
water farm. We also add 0.5 mL of overnight Salmonella culture and 0.5 mL of 10X tryptic soy broth.
The mixture will be incubate for about 24 to 48 hours at 37oC. During this incubation period, we
expect phage in water sample will be able to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A confluent lawn of bacteria will appear covering the agar. The phage will infect and kill the bacteria
in the center of the plate. This will creates a visible region of zero bacteria or also known as plaque.
Characterization of bacteriophage.
The next step is by extract individual plaque from the overlay agar medium by using a pipette. The
plaque expected to contain specific bacteriophage against Salmonella. So, the extracted plaque will
undergo several re culture processes with Salmonella. After we get the phages, we need to do
characterization by examine their morphology and doing staining process. In this case, we use
negative staining. In negative staining, we will place a single drop of nigrosin on a clean microscope
slide. By applying aseptic technique, we will transfer a little bit of our phage from the plaque and mix
it into the drop of nigrosin on the slide. Another microscope slide will be used to spread out the drop
into a film. Air dry the film and observe the slide under microscope according to correct techniques.
High purity of bacteriophage preparation can be obtained by using ion exchange chromatography,
high speed centrifugation and other modern purification. Besides, we also can use advanced
purification techniques to purify phages and to ensure that they are free form unwanted bacteria. We
will determine the viability and titer of phages before using them therapeutically.

Essay on Bobbie Ann Mason s Shiloh
Bobbie Ann Mason s Shiloh In the story Shiloh by Bobbie Ann Mason, The reader gets different
points of view and different feelings about the characters and the story. In this story the narrator
explains how time and distance can create a gap between two people. It also talks about how naïve
Leroy really is and also how self centered he is. It allows the reader to understand that sometimes in
doing something good people could be doing something that hurts others. This story reveals to the
reader how distance and low communication can separate individuals from each other. Leroy, the
narrator, is a person that has lived separated from his wife Norma Jean for a lot of time because of the

Leroy could be said that he is a little naïve because he thinks that nothing has changed and that
everything is the same as before. What he doesn t realize is that what has changed the most is his wife.
In this story the reader gets the impression that Norma Jean and Leroy are living in a lie. Although
Norma Jean has found other things to do while he is away she feels lonely and trapped. Leroy on the
other hand feels that she is happy with the life style they have. But what Leroy does not realize is that
they have grown apart. Leroy is having a hard time realizing that his relationship with his wife is not
as strong as he thinks it is. He feels the need talk about their dead son, but doesn t know if he should
mention him to Norma Jean. As it says in the story and Leroy wonders if one of them should mention
the child. (47) This crates a complicated scenario for Leroy who is having trouble understanding what
has happened between him and his wife. This allows the reader to think badly about Leroy, and also
lets the reader judge the way Leroy is acting. But the reader also understands him since he has been
talking about his son for a long time with other people. As it says in the story Leroy used to tell
hitchhikers his hole life story about his travels, his hometown, the baby. (51) This is why Leroy feels

What About Bob Essay
What About Bob Critical Film Review I selected the movie What About Bob which is a comedic film
based on a therapist, his family, and his new patient. The therapists name is Doctor Leo Marvin and he
is a highly rated psychotherapist. His book is about to come out with the Title Baby Steps . This is the
approach he begins to take on his new patient who has been bounced around from psychologist to
psychologist. Dr. Leo Marvin soon finds out that his technique of Baby Steps is not working the way
he has intended with the new patient known as Bob Wiley. Bob has extreme phobias making it
difficult for him to leave his own house, when he finally ventures out he has to talk to himself in
reassurance that everything will be okay. He connects himself ... Show more content on

I did notice a flaw in the story line in relation to therapy, however. The flaw was that Bob seemed to
get progressively better at a very fast rate. In relation to his diagnosis of multi phobic personality
characterized by acute separation anxiety and the extreme need for family connections along with the
ones I found such as OCD, agoraphobia and dependent personality disorder. All of the problems seem
to go away with little to no time except for the dependent personality disorder which would not
happen in any typical case. The movie did portray the dependent part right because Bob always put his
happiness above the Doctor which fits what a person with dependent personality disorder would do.
Another thing that I noticed was that Dr. Marvin never tries to realize why Bob is actually at the
house. He never tries to have a session or get to the bottom of why he is at the house and will not
leave. Instead of being so wrapped up with getting rid of Bob, Leo should have tried to treat Bob.
With the right treatment Bob might have gone back to New York. Another major flaw, done for
comedic purpose, was that counselors are not supposed to attempt to kill their patients. This movie
was a pretty accurate portrayal of a patient with dependent personality, multi phobic personality
disorder, extreme need for family connections and acute separation anxiety. This movie is not only
funny to watch but also a psychological movie for counselors to

Jane Goodall Chimps Psychology
Her methods yielded amazing results, which totally changed the way people viewed chimps. Chimps
can be surprisingly violent, especially considering the stereotype of the gentle, forest dwelling
vegetarians humans had imposed on them. Chimps are not animals to dress in diapers and cute
sunglasses, to use to entertain your friends. They are complex, clever, animals. Her work has
contributed hugely to the general population as well as numerous scientific fields. Evolutionary
psychology is a field which has perhaps particularly benefitted from her work. Because chimps and
modern humans have the most recent last common ancestor compared to humans and the rest of the
animal kingdom, we can learn a lot about how human behavior may have evolved from ... Show more

In order to observe and record the behavior of the chimpanzees at Gombe, she had to introduce herself
and other humans to the wild animals. This inherently changes the behavior of the chimps, and it is
hard to tell exactly how it does so when there is, of course, no close records of chimps with no chimp
human interaction. The chimps grew used to humans, taking food from them, sitting with them, taking
medicine from them, and interacting with them. Although this perhaps cannot be helped, it is certainly
one of the limitations of this work. Goodall also addresses the many critiques she has gotten for giving
the chimpanzees names and attributing emotions to them. This runs the risk of projecting what may in
actuality be a human emotion onto a chimp that may not be feeling anything close to that. In terms of
this limitation, however, I believe the benefits of the methodology outweigh the

Proprietary Technologies Vs. Infrastructural Technology
Proprietary technologies vs. Infrastructural technology
Proprietary technologies can be owned, actively and effectively, at times by a single company. For
instance, a pharmaceutical holding a patent on a particular compound that is the basis for a drug is an
example of proprietary technologies. Infrastructural technology on the other hand provides more value
when shared rather than used by a single organization. A company having all the rights to building
railroads is an example of Infrastructural technology. This company can operate efficiently, but the
effect to the economy is greater if the technology is shared and companies build railroads that can
connect more buyers and sellers. Holding proprietary technologies, according to ... Show more content

In fact, IT is nothing like transport or electricity, and according to Ben Bernanke, we are in the early
days of the IT revolution as computing speed and memory continue to increase we ve only scratch the

Carr s reasons why IT is a Commodity
IT, according to Carr, has become affordable to all and therefore, it has been a commodity. He further
argues that the use commodities do not lead to a completive advantage, and believes that IT has
become commoditized for the following reasons:
IT is highly replicable
The arrival of the internet has accelerated the its commoditization
IT is subject to rapid price deflation
I agree with Carr s assessment on the commoditization of IT to some degree. For instance, it makes no
sense for an organization to spend money in customizing a product when a similar product can be
bought at a relatively good price. Organizations no longer write their application, they simple buy one
that is available in the market (e,g. Microsoft Office).
I do not agree with Carr when he states that organizations such as IBM and Microsoft recognize this
trend and have position themselves as IT utilities companies as more companies replace customized
application with generic ones. That the internet has increased the commoditization of IT by providing
a perfect delivery channel for generic applications and more and more organization will obtain their IT
requirement by purchasing fee based web services

The Icarus Deception
Writing to me, is an art form, and I consider myself reasonably successful at it, with several thousand
items published around the world, both in print and on line. I decided that, in light of the demise of the
Squidoo website, which has been sold to Hubpages, I would review one of the books written by the
site founder, Seth Godin. He has for years been a leading light in the field of motivational education,
and you have to say that he has a kind of in your face style that demands your attention, which is
perhaps one of the reasons why his work, and this volume The Icarus Deception are so interesting. He
uses the title character whose determination to succeed led to his demise, as we all know in a
fascinating illustration of his belief that, where Icarus is concerned, first appearances are very
deceptive. The iconic fable tells that Icarus died because the wax in those melted when flying too
close to the sun, but Seth Godin maintains that this could be interpreted as the unlucky lad being
blinded by initial success, and failing to think things through properly. ... Show more content on

The Jane Austen
Jane Austen was born in Hampshire, England on December 16, 1775. Her father was Reverend
George Austen and her mother was Cassandra Leigh Austen. Jane was the youngest daughter of a
large, close family. She had six brothers and one sister. She was especially close to her sister and
brother, Cassandra and Henry. When Jane was eight, she and her sister were sent to Oxford and then
Southampton. Because of an outbreak of typhus, a bacterial disease spread by lice or fleas, Jane nearly
died. After this, both girls returned home. Jane and her sister then attended the Reading Ladies
Boarding School, where they studied spelling, French, dancing, music and needlework. Jane continued
to expand her knowledge after she left school. Under the supervision of her father, Jane learned to
become the great author she is known as. In her teen years Jane started writing. She wrote poems,
stories, and comical pieces for her family s entertainment. She consolidated several of these pieces of
work into notebooks. As she continued to practice within her writing, Jane became proficient at
mocking the over romantic and Gothic styles of the eighteenth century novels. In some of her earlier
publishing, you can find humorous novels with deliberately misspelled titles, Love and Freindship ; an
ironic History of England ; and the book, Lady Susan. In 1795Jane met Tom Lefroy, the nephew of
their neighbors. According to her letters to Cassandra, Jane spent an immense amount of time with

Analysis Of The Movie Braveheart By William Wallace
If people hear the name William Wallace, they might think of the Mel Gibson movie, Braveheart . As
that is a great movie, it s not nearly the full story of William Wallace. Therefore, a hunt for the truth of
the real the story was underway. William Wallace was born in 1270 s in Scotland, but not much is
known about his childhood but that he lived with his father, Sir Malcom Wallace, on a small piece of
land in Scotland. (BBC) and (The Editors of Encyclopedia Britannica) This is dock number one on the
movie. Although some may say, Shame on you Hollywood, for making up the childhood of this
remarkable history hero , At the time of Wallace s childhood, Scotland was starting its decline into
succession when it was taken over by England. Therefore, the stories could, in fact, be true, although
no evidence proves it. As Wallace grew up he learned how to fight battles logically, which overtime
made him grow very respected with the men he met. He was taught to think before he would speak.
He was a natural born leader and would hold his position firmly. This led to battles won where he had
very few men, but a very passionate and trusting crew because Wallace was their leader. In 1296, the
king of England, Edward I, took advantage of the succession in Scotland and declared himself as ruler
of Scotland with English administration. Only a few revolts had taken place when sheriffs were
subject to different areas of Scotland, and even fewer were successful. So far it seems as though

Nationwide, it s estimated as many as 18 percent of police are suffering from PTSD (Doane). He once

not getting the proper care and treatment individually. Some may argue that counseling is given, and
that police officers are able to go to these sessions. However, the counseling [offered in the force] is
not mandatory (Doane). Making counseling mandatory would remove the stigma of asking for help,
and would also [hopefully] help the officers who are dealing with or have experienced on the job

would you have one? For police, their job is high demand and their emotions are often tucked away as

The Cultural Heritage Of Syria
I intend to concentrate on the cultural heritage of Syria throughout the duration of this report, however
the the massive losses in life and property incurred over the course of the now five year long Civil
War in Syria is a major factor in the discussion in regards to what remains, and what has been
destroyed, among Syria s tangible cultural heritage in the form of monuments, historical architecture,
and various other pieces of art1. The tangible heritage that remains in the region effected by the Syrian
Civil War is testament to thousands of years of culture, history and civilization, which must be
protected and efforts must be put forth in its preservation. However, this heritage was built by the
ancestors of those who have gone, and is a symbol of past peoples. Those who remain however, are
suffering from the onslaughts of both terrorist groups one one hand, and are the victims of conflict
between the Free Syrian Army and the forces of President Bashar Al Asad2. It is a logistical and moral
quagmire to divert and commit forces to either one or the other, to protect them both from the
destruction in the ongoing conflict. Should international and local military focus and effort emphasize
the protection of priceless artifacts that are irreplaceable assets for the Syrian people and the world at
large? Or should focus instead be diverted to protecting internally displaced persons in the region, as
well as those entrenched in areas with intense fighting?

Marxist Analysis On Class Conflict In Lord Of The Flies
A Marxist Analysis on Class Conflict in Lord of the Flies
The Ideology of Golding refers to the Cold War conflict between the Open minded Democracy in his
presentation of Ralph whereas Jack is the authoritarian communism. Based on Dobie, Ann Brewster s
Wadsworth Cengage Learning, 2008 we know that Marxists do not see any literary works as an
appealing article but as products of the socioeconomic aspects. Similarly Lord of the Flies
authenticates a Marxist principle explained by the Class Conflict in the boys attempts of civilization

the adult world believably it turned into barbarity and bloodstained violence.

Dillard s is a department store founded in 1938 by William T. Dillard. It also knows as one of the

Why Is Canada An Oppressive Colonist
Many First Nations groups felt the numbered treaties signed by the Dominion Government and their
First Nations Chiefs between 1877 1921 were rushed and disorganized.
The lack of organization limited the Aboriginals and resulted in unfulfilled promises. Because the
government was more concerned with changing the carious First Nations groups rather than
collaborating / negotiating with them, Canada was seen as an oppressive colonizer. Upon signing the
treaties, Canada obtained control of most aspects of society; especially in regards to schooling,
resource extraction, land use, and implementation of laws for various social issues. This lead to
limited funds for education, supplies, and minimal allocation of land for the First Nation groups

How Does Shakespeare Present Prospero In The Tempest
In William Shakespeare s The Tempest, whether the monster is Prospero, because of the monstrous
way he treats Caliban, or Caliban, because he is literally a finned monster, the two are ultimately
indistinguishable. The two prominent ways in which Shakespeare equates Prospero and Caliban are
through portraying the two as good intentioned figures and naive in distinct ways.
Shakespeare demonstrates that men and monsters are indistinguishable by portraying Prospero and
Caliban as good intentioned. Although both are blinded to the other s world, Prospero and Caliban
believe their actions are justified. On one hand, despite the fact that Prospero s actions are morally

naive to the fact that he doesn t question whether or not assimilating Caliban is honourable, wanted or

the focus on the acquisition of knowledge to reach salvation, as opposed to living without sin.
However, at the birth of Christianity, there was a lot about the Gnostic doctrine that the layman found
disagreeable. Adding Gnostic text to the canonical Bible complicated the New Testament even further.
It was also considered elitist, as a religion based on knowledge during a time where most of the
population was illiterate would be exclusionary and inaccessible. The main reason, however, that the
early Christianity we all now know and love survived over Gnosticism is that Gnosticism is
individualistic, while Orthodox Christianity is more community centric. In ancient times as well as
modern, it is easier to survive while working with a group, for the good of the group. This focus on
community also made organization easier, where church leaders could explain what the Bible says to
the people, instead of having them read it themselves and possibly reinterpret sections to make them

The Attitude Of The Poem My Last Duchess By Robert Browning
9th Grade English Essay: Discuss the attitude of the poet towards the duchess in My Last Duchess by
Robert Browning
In the middle ages , the main topic used in poems was a nobleman, usually a knight in love with a
married woman and had to prove his devotion by heroic deeds and amorous writings . They used
blazon to emphasis the beautiful bodies of the women in those days. However, there was a radical
change in the Victorian times where prostitution became such a big issue. The poems became darker
and less courtly. In the poem, My last duchess by Robert Browning there was no traditional blazon
such as complementing the duchess body. Yet, the speaker who is also the Duke talks about the
women s body as the main justification for her assassination. The duke talks about her smile as the
reason for his jealousy and possessive obecession.
Robert Browning uses various literary devices to provoke a feeling to the reader. By his choice of
devices, we are able to understand the feelings of the Duke towards the Duchess. The rhyme scheme
of this poem is organized in rhyming couplets (AABBCC) this is used to show the relationship
between him and the duchess (couplets) it may also be used to show is obecession with controlling
everything and having everything organized and planned. The lines are paired in rhyming couplets,
but these couplets are open which shows the Robert Browning uses various literary devices to provoke
a feeling to the reader. By his choice of devices, we are

H M s Target Market Range Age Group Essay
Hennes Mauritz (H M) is one of the largest clothing retailers worldwide. Their target market range age
group is about 0 40 years old, but is most popular for those 15 30 years old. The brand reputation has
achieved the assumption that their goal is to offer fashionable clothing at a reasonable price. Their
clothing is always on trend, and sold at an affordable price from about $0.80 to $450. H M buys stock
in large columns to keep prices affordable for their average consumer. They partake in many
collaborations with designers and celebrities, such as, David Beckham, Alexander Wang, and the most
recent, Kenzo, as well as many more. They have worked to achieve a quick and well established
system with stores all around the world, and a large consumer variety. H M is regularly featured in
respectable fashion magazines, such as Vogue and Elle. The following shows all of the countries a
customer is able to shop from on the online website.
With H M s many strengths come many weaknesses. Although buying in large amounts keeps prices
affordable, it can also lead to overstocking, and later the lowering of an already affordable price, as
well as a lack of control over product production. Uncontrollably, their target customer base is highly
affected by the changing macro economic conditions. They are new to the United States online store

No Wonder They Call Me A Bitch Analysis
Ann Hodgman, a freelance writer and former food critic, decides to write a review of various types of
dog foods in her piece, No Wonder They Call Me a Bitch. The research aims to answer the questions
that always puzzled her as a child. Questions about the ingredients in the dog foods and whether it
taste like human food. The writer spends a week eating dog food to answer these questions. Her
results, however, reveals a disappointing truth that dog food is not as glamorous as she once thought,
instead it lacks the quality, health and taste it advertises. The first disappointment she encounters is the
quality of the dog foods. Hodgman expected to open packages filled with real meat, as advertisers
relentlessly remind buyers of a dog s love for real meat. The Gaines burger could neither be described
as poor beef, rich beef or even beef at all. It couldn t be fried and did not have that real beef smell .
Ann describes it as being very malleable, something you could make at home if you had a Play DOH

are not predominantly meat. Most dog foods, especially Gaines burger, have soy listed as the main

contain beef tallow as a promoter of good skin and hair coat, but Hodgman found that beef tallow just

Chaco Canyon Essay
Chaco Canyon hi my name is Andres answer my quest New Mexico I went to Chaco Canyon
Chaco Canyon is a historical site that is often forgotten but is still an amazing place to know about.
What was the history, the culture and why did the Chacoans build such immense structures that were
not occupied year round.
The Chacoans were a civilization that lasted from the 800s to the 1100s and were living across New
Mexico. They were an agricultural society that their main food source were the three sisters, corn,
beans, and squash. They also supplemented their diet with any animals they could catch.
In the late 800s Pueblo Bonito, Una Vida, and Peñasco Blanco were constructed, followed by Hungo
Pavi, Chetro Ketl, Pueblo Alto, and others. By 1050, Chaco had become the ceremonial,

This was important because it told the Chacoans when to plant their crops and harvest them.
Other archaeologists think that the great houses were a center for trade due to the fact that they found
items from as far as Central America such as parrot feathers and abalone which is a type of shell.
The puzzling thing is that there is not a lot of organic waste in the refuse piles which means that the
Native Americans that we were living there we re not there all the time.
we still do not know why the ancestral puebloans left Chaco Canyon and we probably never know for
sure. But it is still a place that many should visit at least once in their life.

Characteristics Of A Personality Disorder
Psychopathy is condition in which an individual has a wide array of negative personality traits. The
trait that stands out the most is that they enjoy the suffering of others, as well as compulsively, and
very skillfully, lying to others. Also, their sense of superficial charm causes people to gravitate toward
them. Psychopaths are also known for their lack of general remorse and empathy for any wrongdoings
they may commit. They are known to deny responsibility for actions they commit, as well as
maintaining a parasitic lifestyle; figuratively speaking they feed off of those around them that can
contribute to their desires. This condition, while it may seem like it is extremely rare, this is only due
to the fact that these people are very good at blending in with normal people, making it hard to judge
who is truly a psychopath. Narcissistic personality disorder differs from psychopaths; however, there
are also some similarities (Hare). One of these similarities is the lack of empathy that they feel for
negative actions they commit. The difference is that they feel the need to be the center of attention,
like they are the most important people among their family and friends. They have negative attitudes
toward those they feel are beneath them. People who suffer from narcissistic personality disorder are
often referred to as narcissists, or are known to suffer from narcissism. These people are arrogant and
often times, straight up snobbish to those they see as less

I Got A Call From My Best Friend
On February fifteenth, 2015, I got a call from my best friend, Mya.
Hey Serena! she warmly greeted me. How would you like to go to sleep away camp with me this

I thought that sleep away camp with my best friend since diapers would be an amazing experience.
I d love to! I replied.
Mya and I spent the whole afternoon researching sleep away camps, trying to find the right one.
Finally, we found the seemingly perfect one week camp, Camp Lohikan. It had a wide variety of
interesting activities, such as quad riding, jet skiing, archery, bungee jumping, horseback, theater, the
list goes on and on. To our excitement, both of our parents agreed to send us to the camp together.
They even requested that we be put into the same cabin. From that day, the countdown began; only
one hundred eighty seven days until camp. Almost everyday, I would wake up to find a text from Mya
reading,
Can t wait until Lohikan! to which I would reply,
Me too!
Finally, the week before camp approached. I, however, was no longer excited for camp, In fact, I was
dreading the day that I had to leave for camp. This feeling was mostly because I was nervous. What if
the food is gross? What if my cabin mates are rude? What if my counselor is rude? What if I get
homesick? I thought. At one point I became super dramatic and asked myself, What if I die? Everyday

Restitution can be paid in either money or worked off with community service. Many juveniles enter
into the system threw referrals or petitions. Referrals is when they have broken a law and if they were
of majority would be put in jail. Juveniles can be referred to the court from teachers, police, family,
and any person that considers the juvenile to be breaking a law. A petition is a document filed in the
juvenile court which addresses the issues that the juvenile should appear in court (Benekos,
Champion, Merlo, 2013).
Mental illness is another issue that is not adequately being addressed. Many kids that are being
incarcerated are not getting the mental health treatment that they are needing. Countless families are
postponed from services due to the absence of obtainable mental health services (Barksdale, Stephan,

topic was intense and that the two should smoke some weed to take the edge off, at this point, the
music begins with the lyrics This generation rules the nation with version, music happens to be the
food of love. The song selection was both aesthetically and narratively pleasing. It foreshadows that
the young Dev and Denise s generation will soon rule the nation with version once they become of
age. The generational reference is important because the prior generation is less understanding, such
as Denise s elders. Also, they will rule with version because there will be a change from the previous
generation. The lyrics music happen to be the food of love are situational irony within the scene
considering that the song references music being the food of love after talking about a taboo topic that

The Slavery Of South Africa
When democracy was ushered in after the fall of the apartheid regime, the nation went through radical
change. Not only was the stalwart Nationalist Party replaced by the liberation leaders of the African
National Congress, but the citizens of South Africa also had to replace their apartheid era thinking
with that of a newly liberated and enlightened mind. Issues of national importance suddenly affected
everyone the movement from apartheid rule to democracy brought about a new set of national values
that were based on the protection of and respect for all citizens of South Africa. When it came to
debates around the decriminalization of sex work, the discourse changed completely from the
apartheid to the post apartheid era. Arguments in favor of decriminalizing sex work during apartheid
were mainly based on issues of public health and the benefits of increased leniency; arguments in the
post apartheid era were heavily influenced by the new constitution and its accompanying Bill of
Rights, and thus these debates were centered on attempting to advance the process of democracy by
affording sex workers their basic human rights. This paper will attempt to decipher the ways in which
the debates around the decriminalization of sex work evolved during this time period, and how the
racial relations between South Africans at the time played an important role in defining these
discussions.

Biological Features Of The Booty
The booty (plural: booties,) also known as the bandonkadonk, junk in the trunk or simply butt, is two
rounded portions of gluteal muscle located on the posterior pelvic region. Anatomically, the structure
enables weight to be taken off the feet while sitting; however, in many cultures the masses of fat play
a role in sexual attraction. Many find the swaying of the hips, which jiggles and bounces the booty, to
be exceptionally arousing when featured on a female. Recently, this ideology has been sensationalized
in the realm of popular culture and mass media. If you tune into the radio, you ll hear lyrics about
bubble butts. If you turn on the television, you ll see touches twerking. And if you tap into your social
media you ll read about famous fannies like Kim Kardashian and Iggy Azalea s. However, both men
and women have this biological feature that functions in the exact way, so why are there such double
standards, complexes, and obsessions with the female butt? According to Vogue magazine, we are
officially in the era of the big booty (Garcia, 2014). Likewise, 2014 has been dubbed The Year Of The
Booty (Ball, 2014). Meaning, today, the measure of a woman s sex appeal is directly linked to the
prominence of her behind. While music videos have long been critiqued for reproducing distorted
ideologies of women s sexuality, recent research suggests that female artists are more likely to
sexually objectify themselves in their own music videos than male artists

Catholic Reformation Essay
During the 16th century, Protestantism emerged as a new sect of Christianity. This process was not
calm or peaceful in the slightest. Protestant leaders like Martin Luther and John Calvin fiercely
attacked and denied traditional Catholic beliefs, causing much controversy and debate upon religion.
Many regions of Europe as a whole were converted to Protestantism, and many more Protestants
emerged in areas where Catholicism remained the state religion. The Catholic faith became less and
less appealing to people as the abuses of the clergy were now publicly addressed by reformers and a

An important declaration was that The Vulgate, a translation of the Bible into Latin made by St.
Jerome, was the only official version of the Bible. This meant that people had to know Latin to read
Scripture, so the right of individuals to have their own interpretation of Scripture was denied.
Monasticism continued to be an important practice, and the existence of purgatory was reaffirmed.
The Council of Trent set out to reaffirm and restate traditional Catholic beliefs in order to protect
against the Protestant Reformation. The members of the Council of Trent realized the unfair abuses of
the church, and called for reform. In this way, they were protecting themselves against criticism from
Protestant reformers. A drastic reform of monastic orders was launched. The council acted against the
abuse of indulgences while still upholding the principle. This meant that indulgences could not just be
sold; indulgences were granted when an individual did something truly good. Also, bishops were to
reside in their respective dioceses and attend more carefully to their duties, exercising more control
over clergy. Pluralism was checked and steps were taken to make sure church officials were eligible
for the job. In order to have an educated clergy, the council ordered that a seminary be set up in each

The Issues Of Race And Privilege
There are any issues that the nation, the world, is facing today. Is it okay to travel to Africa? Is the
water safe to drink? Many questions. Something that has been a question, a problem, an issue, for
many years has recently become the main focus of topic; race and privilege. Those are topics that is
discussed by many and somewhat dreaded by others. How can all people work collectively to address
issues of race and privilege? That is a question that I will address and hopefully offer a solution to the
issues in the form of a moral claim. Political philosophers or philosophies to support the claim will be
incorporated. Criticisms of the claim will be anticipated and a response will be given. A Jesuit value
will be presented and how the value informs and supports my claim will be discussed. Last week I

The Importance Of Human Rights-Based Environmental Rights
Essentially, there are three avenues available when wishing to expand human rights based
environmental protection. The first, as discussed above, is through the broadening of existing human
rights to include environmental rights, as was done in the Lopez and Guerra cases. The second, is
through the assertion of substantive environmental rights, an approach which has so far seen very little
practice, and third through asserting procedural environmental rights . The third method has seen an
increasing level of prevalence in recent years, most notably beginning with Principle 10 of the Rio
Declaration on Environmental Development, which provides Environmental issues are best handled
with the participation of all concerned citizens, (...) each individual shall have appropriate access to
information concerning the environment, (...) and the opportunity to participate in decision making
processes. (...) Effective access to judicial and administrative proceedings, including redress and
remedy, shall be provided. This Principle was the basis for the 1998 Aarhus Convention on Access too
Information, Public Participation in Decision making and Access to Justice in environmental matters.

making, and access to justice, are strictly procedural in content . According to the former Secretary

goes. These engines set a whole new bar for the standards of getting to work and the moving and
manufacturing of products.
HISTORICAL CONTENT In 1872 an American by the name of George Brayton invented the first
commercial internal combustion engine that was liquid fueled.( Diesel Engine. ) In the 1890 s
Rudolph Diesel invented the first compression ignition engine (Jääskeläinen).
These two engines impact the world in a tremendous way in the transportation industry from driving

Extinction Of Animal Extinction
There have been five well known extinctions on this earth. The one most well known is the mass
extinction that ended the dinosaurs. Mass extinction is often described as the elimination of a large
number of species in a short period of time. Despite what many think, the elimination of species is
almost commonplace at this point. The Earth is currently in the middle of a sixth mass extinction, and
it s been caused by the human race.
It s clear that a great extinction is coming from the evidence of the destruction of other species around
us. The choices made by the human race have too often negatively affected the surrounding species.
Tracy Wilson, the site director for HowStuffWorks.com, in an article for Animal Planet, states that ...

Not to mention ...both groups emphasized that climate change would play an increasing role in species
decline... (Gilman). Climate change is still a controversial topic to some, but many scientists have
proven that it s true. In fact, Neil Degrasse Tyson has given evidence to prove its truth and already
informed the world that it s too late to fix people s mistakes (Neil). The extinction of species has been
caused in certain instances by climate change, which is only getting worse. People have continuously
altered the environment to the point of harming other species. The human race s tendency to destroy
an environment greatly impacts the plants and animals residing there. To be more specific, Human
destruction of animal and plant habitat...appear to be having a major impact on extinction rates
(Wilson). Environmental degradation and habitat destruction are both key players in the extinction of
many world species. The impact people have had on the environment is much bigger than most
anticipate, as they both destroy and intervene with the environment.
One specific way that humans have begun the process of world extinction is through their incessant
meddling with the environment. Not only do people destroy the environment with our wreckage and
pollution, but the human race has introduced species into other ecosystems, causing massive
repercussions. Referred to as invasive species, their introduction into a

Louis Berkof
Introduction of the New Testament Summary of introduction to the new testament Louis Berkof by
systematically addressing the origin of the Gospel and the Epistles of the New Testament, their
content, characteristics, authorship, composition, and canonical significance, Takes on the difficult
undertaking of ensuring that the New Testament is accurately understood within what he perceives is
the correct historical setting. Berkhof primarily intended this book for his students at Calvin
Theological Seminary where he taught for nearly 30 years. Introduction to the New Testament
incorporates the research and labors of many past scholars, and church Fathers, and presents it in such
a way as to make Introduction to the New Testament a diverse ... Show more content on

In defending his point against those that deny that the gospel written by inspiration of God, Berkhof
flagrantly proclaims, Over against this position we hold that the Gospels were written by men who
were inspired by the Holy Spirit, and that they are therefore absolutely trustworthy and authoritative
accounts of the life of our Lord. To defend his position Berkhof list but a few passages from scriptures
that support his position. As for those that admit the inspiration of the Old Testament Prophets, but
deny that the Apostles were inspired because they did not use the expression Thus Saith the Lord or
did not observe the characteristic phenomena that accompanied the inspiration of the prophets,
Berkhof gives three points in distinguishing the inspiration of the prophets from the inspiration of the
Apostles. o In the Old Testament the Holy Spirit took possession of the Prophets sometime
suppressing their personality, while in the New Testament the Holy Spirit aboded in the Church and
first the Apostle using them as instruments to produce His revelation. o For the Old Testament
Prophets the Holy Spirit was an external Power that impelled them to prophesy. While

Air Pollution In The Environment
A major public health challenge facing the people of Honduras is the issue of household air pollution
(HAP). HAP is a dangerous form of environmental health hazard, so much so that the World Health
Organization (WHO) has called it the most important global environmental health risk today . HAP is
air pollution that is produced inside the home due to cooking, lightening, and heating needs and is
typically the result of burning biomass fuels such as wood or coal, which produces products of
incomplete combustion such as carbon monoxide and particulate matter (PM). Behaviors such as
smoking indoors also contribute to poor indoor air quality. The worldwide impact of HAP is massive,
with the WHO estimating that a total of 4.3 million deaths were linked to HAP in 2012. Honduras is
part of this global burden of disease, as over half of Honduras s population cooks with biomass,
placing thousands at risk. The overall trend in health ailments in Honduras is one of epidemiological
transition. Essentially, Honduras is currently seeing a rise in noncommunicable diseases (NCD) while
the burden of infectious disease persists. HAP is contributing to this rise in NCD. People in Honduras
between 30 and 70 years old have a 16% chance of dying from the four main NCDS, which include
cancer, diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, and chronic respiratory diseases. HAP has been found to
contribute to all of these areas of NCD, excluding diabetes. In Honduras, cardiovascular disease and

Political Movements In The Stonewall Riots, And The Rights...
Summary Political movements have changed and developed over time. Many have survived the
decades, and are just as alive now as they were fifty years ago. The rights of women and people of
color sparked movements dating back to the 1960s and earlier, and both are back in the spotlight
today. Environmental activism became an important issue in the 1970s, and is still a concern today,
although to a lesser extent. Although the gay rights discussion at the national level began following the
Stonewall Riots in 1969, and Pride Parades began popping up nationwide shortly thereafter, LGBT
individuals had no legal rights or protections before the increased activism of this decade (Dreier,
2015). Peace movements are also found in many different time periods, reflecting an ever prevalent
anti war sentiment that becomes visible whenever our country engages in foreign conflict. Due to the
extended nature of political movements, political songs tend to have relevance extending far beyond
their release date. While Sam Cooke s anti segregation rhetoric is outdated, the references to
institutional racism are not, and the hope that changes will be made to bring an end to racial disparity
is perennial. A change may have come, but much more change is still needed. Leslie Gore s You Don t
Own Me could just as easily be an anthem for women today as it was in 1963. The issues of police
brutality and the inner city cycle of poverty are just as crucial today as they were when The Message

I.C.T In Our Society
This report is about how ICT has affected us as a society. For example, for entertainment purposes like
games consoles, communication purposes such as mobile phones, storage purposes such as storing
music on a CD or for social purposes such as email.
E mail
The first thing I will look at will be email. With email you can quickly talk to friends, work
colleagues, basically anyone who has an email address. I have two email accounts, one at home
provided by hotmail, which is useful because I can log on to it anywhere via the
Internet. I also have one at school provided by Solihull L.E.A, which
I can only access at school; both have a unique log on I.D and password. With my personal ... Show

Say for instance I had done a word document in history on Hitler and the Nazis, I may want to carry
on with it at home but when I come to send it, I can t because I have too many pictures on there that
take up space. Also if someone doesn t have broadband than it could take a long time to attach a
document or presentation to an email and even with broadband it could take a long time depending on
the size of the file.
A good thing about most email accounts is that they are free but then
I get a lot of adverts and pop ups.
If email companies are going to give people free email then they need to get the money from
somewhere to make sure they can afford the payment of the site, this is where the adverts and pop ups
come in, other companies pay companies such as hotmail to put their adverts and pop ups on their
websites hence hotmail can pay for the upkeep of the site.
I can set up a filter on my email account so that I only receive emails from people in my address book.
The problem is though that before I can receive emails from someone I need to add them to my
address book and if someone changes their email I need to edit my address book.
The alternatives to email are fax, which can be quick but can cost a lot of money, or text that is quick
so long as the other person has their phone on; you also need signal and credit, which can be a
problem. Both can be useful if email is

  • 2. What Is The Theme Of The Sea By Lord Prufrock The poem starts with him talking about a question he wants to ask. Throughout the poem, he walks towards a destination and when he arrives he never dares to do anything; this is the attitude he maintains during the poem. Alfred is a middle aged coward that has never pursued anything because of what people might say; a man afraid of taking risks, or even decisions. A curious allusion he uses in various lines of the poem is the sea and its related themes as: a pair of ragged claws scuttling across the floors of silent seas, mermaids that don t sing to him and drowning. The sea allusion throughout the poem can summarize it as a metaphor: he is the crab because he yearns the capacity of isolating himself from the world, the woman is the mermaid ... At the whorehouse there are a lot of people and music, this opens the possibility of Prufrock having a panic attack and that is why he talks about the human voices that wake him from thinking about his lover and drown him in a panic ... (Webster s Dictionary.) When a couple gets married they make a vow in front of their loved ones and their God to be together for the rest of their lives and abide by each other. In the Hindu religion, which is the third largest religion in the world, weddings are very sacred, therefore a wedding ceremony takes a lot of time and effort and it is composed of different rituals and ceremonies. • 5. Ludwig Wittgenstein Research Paper Considered by many to be one of the greatest philosophers of the 20th century. Ludwig Wittgenstein was a man of many thoughts and emotions. His works in language and logic are his most famous, his philosophy and opinions have left a mark in philosophy was we know it. Tractatus Logico Philosophicus was a book he claimed that solved all questions in life, yet he wrote another book, Philosophical Investigations, taking a similar yet different route. Now his works have left a lasting impact even outside of philosophy. The Austrian British philosopher, was born in Vienna, Austria, on April 26, 1889 to wealthy and well known family. Although his family was Jewish Catholic he was raised as a protestant but was baptized as a Roman Catholic. He was youngest of eight children; his family was greatly invested in the arts, especially music. All of the children where musically gifted, and one of his brothers became a world famous pianist. Even Ludwig had a perfect pitch and played the clarinet for all of his life. Firstly, we will inoculate 5 mL tryptic soy broth with Salmonella. Then we touch a colony of Salmonella by using a sterile needle and transfer it to the tube consisting LB broth. After that, we incubate the culture overnight at 37oC. The next day, we will inoculate another tube with 4.5 mL of water sample that we take from poultry farm nearby that we suspect as source of Salmonella contamination on the squid water farm. We also add 0.5 mL of overnight Salmonella culture and 0.5 mL of 10X tryptic soy broth. The mixture will be incubate for about 24 to 48 hours at 37oC. So, the extracted plaque will undergo several re culture processes with Salmonella. After we get the phages, we need to do characterization by examine their morphology and doing staining process. In this case, we use negative staining. In negative staining, we will place a single drop of nigrosin on a clean microscope slide. By applying aseptic technique, we will transfer a little bit of our phage from the plaque and mix it into the drop of nigrosin on the slide. Another microscope slide will be used to spread out the drop into a film. Air dry the film and observe the slide under microscope according to correct techniques. High purity of bacteriophage preparation can be obtained by using ion exchange chromatography, high speed centrifugation and other modern purification. In this story the narrator explains how time and distance can create a gap between two people. It also talks about how naïve Leroy really is and also how self centered he is. It allows the reader to understand that sometimes in doing something good people could be doing something that hurts others. Although Norma Jean has found other things to do while he is away she feels lonely and trapped. Leroy on the other hand feels that she is happy with the life style they have. The therapists name is Doctor Leo Marvin and he is a highly rated psychotherapist. His book is about to come out with the Title Baby Steps . This is the approach he begins to take on his new patient who has been bounced around from psychologist to psychologist. Dr. Leo Marvin soon finds out that his technique of Baby Steps is not working the way he has intended with the new patient known as Bob Wiley. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I did notice a flaw in the story line in relation to therapy, however. The flaw was that Bob seemed to get progressively better at a very fast rate. In relation to his diagnosis of multi phobic personality characterized by acute separation anxiety and the extreme need for family connections along with the ones I found such as OCD, agoraphobia and dependent personality disorder. All of the problems seem to go away with little to no time except for the dependent personality disorder which would not happen in any typical case. The movie did portray the dependent part right because Bob always put his happiness above the Doctor which fits what a person with dependent personality disorder would do. Another thing that I noticed was that Dr. Marvin never tries to realize why Bob is actually at the house. He never tries to have a session or get to the bottom of why he is at the house and will not leave. Instead of being so wrapped up with getting rid of Bob, Leo should have tried to treat Bob. With the right treatment Bob might have gone back to New York. Another major flaw, done for comedic purpose, was that counselors are not supposed to attempt to kill their patients. This movie was a pretty accurate portrayal of a patient with dependent personality, multi phobic personality disorder, extreme need for family connections and acute separation anxiety. This movie is not only funny to watch but also a psychological movie for counselors to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. Jane Goodall Chimps Psychology Her methods yielded amazing results, which totally changed the way people viewed chimps. Chimps can be surprisingly violent, especially considering the stereotype of the gentle, forest dwelling vegetarians humans had imposed on them. Chimps are not animals to dress in diapers and cute sunglasses, to use to entertain your friends. They are complex, clever, animals. Her work has contributed hugely to the general population as well as numerous scientific fields. Evolutionary psychology is a field which has perhaps particularly benefitted from her work. This inherently changes the behavior of the chimps, and it is hard to tell exactly how it does so when there is, of course, no close records of chimps with no chimp human interaction. The chimps grew used to humans, taking food from them, sitting with them, taking medicine from them, and interacting with them. Although this perhaps cannot be helped, it is certainly one of the limitations of this work. Goodall also addresses the many critiques she has gotten for giving the chimpanzees names and attributing emotions to them. This runs the risk of projecting what may in actuality be a human emotion onto a chimp that may not be feeling anything close to that. In terms of this limitation, however, I believe the benefits of the methodology outweigh the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Infrastructural technology on the other hand provides more value when shared rather than used by a single organization. Organizations no longer write their application, they simple buy one that is available in the market (e,g. Microsoft Office). I do not agree with Carr when he states that organizations such as IBM and Microsoft recognize this trend and have position themselves as IT utilities companies as more companies replace customized application with generic ones. I decided that, in light of the demise of the Squidoo website, which has been sold to Hubpages, I would review one of the books written by the site founder, Seth Godin. He has for years been a leading light in the field of motivational education, and you have to say that he has a kind of in your face style that demands your attention, which is perhaps one of the reasons why his work, and this volume The Icarus Deception are so interesting. He uses the title character whose determination to succeed led to his demise, as we all know in a fascinating illustration of his belief that, where Icarus is concerned, first appearances are very deceptive. Jane was the youngest daughter of a large, close family. She had six brothers and one sister. She was especially close to her sister and brother, Cassandra and Henry. When Jane was eight, she and her sister were sent to Oxford and then Southampton. Because of an outbreak of typhus, a bacterial disease spread by lice or fleas, Jane nearly died. After this, both girls returned home. Jane and her sister then attended the Reading Ladies Boarding School, where they studied spelling, French, dancing, music and needlework. Jane continued to expand her knowledge after she left school. Under the supervision of her father, Jane learned to become the great author she is known as. In her teen years Jane started writing. She wrote poems, stories, and comical pieces for her family s entertainment. She consolidated several of these pieces of work into notebooks. As she continued to practice within her writing, Jane became proficient at mocking the over romantic and Gothic styles of the eighteenth century novels. In some of her earlier publishing, you can find humorous novels with deliberately misspelled titles, Love and Freindship ; an ironic History of England ; and the book, Lady Susan. As that is a great movie, it s not nearly the full story of William Wallace. Therefore, a hunt for the truth of the real the story was underway. William Wallace was born in 1270 s in Scotland, but not much is known about his childhood but that he lived with his father, Sir Malcom Wallace, on a small piece of land in Scotland. (BBC) and (The Editors of Encyclopedia Britannica) This is dock number one on the movie. Although some may say, Shame on you Hollywood, for making up the childhood of this remarkable history hero , At the time of Wallace s childhood, Scotland was starting its decline into succession when it was taken over by England. Therefore, the stories could, in fact, be true, although no evidence proves it. As Wallace grew up he learned how to fight battles logically, which overtime made him grow very respected with the men he met. He was taught to think before he would speak. He was a natural born leader and would hold his position firmly. This led to battles won where he had very few men, but a very passionate and trusting crew because Wallace was their leader. In 1296, the king of England, Edward I, took advantage of the succession in Scotland and declared himself as ruler of Scotland with English administration. Only a few revolts had taken place when sheriffs were subject to different areas of Scotland, and even fewer were successful. So far it seems as though ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The tangible heritage that remains in the region effected by the Syrian Civil War is testament to thousands of years of culture, history and civilization, which must be protected and efforts must be put forth in its preservation. However, this heritage was built by the ancestors of those who have gone, and is a symbol of past peoples. Those who remain however, are suffering from the onslaughts of both terrorist groups one one hand, and are the victims of conflict between the Free Syrian Army and the forces of President Bashar Al Asad2. Prospero s naiveness (unknowing) to Caliban s world results in Prospero s notions about Caliban being reinforced, since Caliban decides to act like the savage he is labeled as. Chunks of the story that were shot but never put into the final edit sit on the cutting room floor. Some parts even change the whole story. All religions do this sort of editing, both consciously and unconsciously. Sometimes, holy books are just lost to time. Many of the themes and doctrines of this belief fit well into the values of young academics, especially the focus on the acquisition of knowledge to reach salvation, as opposed to living without sin. However, at the birth of Christianity, there was a lot about the Gnostic doctrine that the layman found disagreeable. Adding Gnostic text to the canonical Bible complicated the New Testament even further. It was also considered elitist, as a religion based on knowledge during a time where most of the population was illiterate would be exclusionary and inaccessible. The main reason, however, that the early Christianity we all now know and love survived over Gnosticism is that Gnosticism is individualistic, while Orthodox Christianity is more community centric. In ancient times as well as modern, it is easier to survive while working with a group, for the good of the group. This focus on community also made organization easier, where church leaders could explain what the Bible says to the people, instead of having them read it themselves and possibly reinterpret sections to make them disagree with the ... The trait that stands out the most is that they enjoy the suffering of others, as well as compulsively, and very skillfully, lying to others. Also, their sense of superficial charm causes people to gravitate toward them. Psychopaths are also known for their lack of general remorse and empathy for any wrongdoings they may commit. They are known to deny responsibility for actions they commit, as well as maintaining a parasitic lifestyle; figuratively speaking they feed off of those around them that can contribute to their desires. This condition, while it may seem like it is extremely rare, this is only due to the fact that these people are very good at blending in with normal people, making it hard to judge who is truly a psychopath. Narcissistic personality disorder differs from psychopaths; however, there are also some similarities (Hare). One of these similarities is the lack of empathy that they feel for negative actions they commit. The difference is that they feel the need to be the center of attention, like they are the most important people among their family and friends. They have negative attitudes toward those they feel are beneath them. • 44. Extinction Of Animal Extinction There have been five well known extinctions on this earth. The one most well known is the mass extinction that ended the dinosaurs. Mass extinction is often described as the elimination of a large number of species in a short period of time. Despite what many think, the elimination of species is almost commonplace at this point. The Earth is currently in the middle of a sixth mass extinction, and it s been caused by the human race. It s clear that a great extinction is coming from the evidence of the destruction of other species around us. The choices made by the human race have too often negatively affected the surrounding species. Tracy Wilson, the site director for HowStuffWorks.com, in an article for Animal Planet, states that ... Climate change is still a controversial topic to some, but many scientists have proven that it s true. In fact, Neil Degrasse Tyson has given evidence to prove its truth and already informed the world that it s too late to fix people s mistakes (Neil). The extinction of species has been caused in certain instances by climate change, which is only getting worse. People have continuously altered the environment to the point of harming other species. The human race s tendency to destroy an environment greatly impacts the plants and animals residing there. To be more specific, Human destruction of animal and plant habitat...appear to be having a major impact on extinction rates (Wilson). Environmental degradation and habitat destruction are both key players in the extinction of many world species. The impact people have had on the environment is much bigger than most anticipate, as they both destroy and intervene with the environment. One specific way that humans have begun the process of world extinction is through their incessant meddling with the environment. Not only do people destroy the environment with our wreckage and pollution, but the human race has introduced species into other ecosystems, causing massive repercussions. Referred to as invasive species, their introduction into a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 45. Louis Berkof Introduction of the New Testament Summary of introduction to the new testament Louis Berkof by systematically addressing the origin of the Gospel and the Epistles of the New Testament, their content, characteristics, authorship, composition, and canonical significance, Takes on the difficult undertaking of ensuring that the New Testament is accurately understood within what he perceives is the correct historical setting. Berkhof primarily intended this book for his students at Calvin Theological Seminary where he taught for nearly 30 years. Introduction to the New Testament incorporates the research and labors of many past scholars, and church Fathers, and presents it in such a way as to make Introduction to the New Testament a diverse ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In defending his point against those that deny that the gospel written by inspiration of God, Berkhof flagrantly proclaims, Over against this position we hold that the Gospels were written by men who were inspired by the Holy Spirit, and that they are therefore absolutely trustworthy and authoritative accounts of the life of our Lord. To defend his position Berkhof list but a few passages from scriptures that support his position. As for those that admit the inspiration of the Old Testament Prophets, but deny that the Apostles were inspired because they did not use the expression Thus Saith the Lord or did not observe the characteristic phenomena that accompanied the inspiration of the prophets, Berkhof gives three points in distinguishing the inspiration of the prophets from the inspiration of the Apostles. o In the Old Testament the Holy Spirit took possession of the Prophets sometime suppressing their personality, while in the New Testament the Holy Spirit aboded in the Church and first the Apostle using them as instruments to produce His revelation. o For the Old Testament Prophets the Holy Spirit was an external Power that impelled them to prophesy. • 47. Air Pollution In The Environment A major public health challenge facing the people of Honduras is the issue of household air pollution (HAP). HAP is a dangerous form of environmental health hazard, so much so that the World Health Organization (WHO) has called it the most important global environmental health risk today . HAP is air pollution that is produced inside the home due to cooking, lightening, and heating needs and is typically the result of burning biomass fuels such as wood or coal, which produces products of incomplete combustion such as carbon monoxide and particulate matter (PM). Behaviors such as smoking indoors also contribute to poor indoor air quality. The worldwide impact of HAP is massive, with the WHO estimating that a total of 4.3 million deaths were linked to HAP in 2012. Honduras is part of this global burden of disease, as over half of Honduras s population cooks with biomass, placing thousands at risk. The overall trend in health ailments in Honduras is one of epidemiological transition. Essentially, Honduras is currently seeing a rise in noncommunicable diseases (NCD) while the burden of infectious disease persists. HAP is contributing to this rise in NCD. People in Honduras between 30 and 70 years old have a 16% chance of dying from the four main NCDS, which include cancer, diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, and chronic respiratory diseases. HAP has been found to contribute to all of these areas of NCD, excluding diabetes. In Honduras, cardiovascular disease and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 48. Political Movements In The Stonewall Riots, And The Rights... Summary Political movements have changed and developed over time. Many have survived the decades, and are just as alive now as they were fifty years ago. The rights of women and people of color sparked movements dating back to the 1960s and earlier, and both are back in the spotlight today. Environmental activism became an important issue in the 1970s, and is still a concern today, although to a lesser extent. Although the gay rights discussion at the national level began following the Stonewall Riots in 1969, and Pride Parades began popping up nationwide shortly thereafter, LGBT individuals had no legal rights or protections before the increased activism of this decade (Dreier, 2015). Peace movements are also found in many different time periods, reflecting an ever prevalent anti war sentiment that becomes visible whenever our country engages in foreign conflict. Due to the extended nature of political movements, political songs tend to have relevance extending far beyond their release date. While Sam Cooke s anti segregation rhetoric is outdated, the references to institutional racism are not, and the hope that changes will be made to bring an end to racial disparity is perennial. A change may have come, but much more change is still needed. Leslie Gore s You Don t Own Me could just as easily be an anthem for women today as it was in 1963. The issues of police brutality and the inner city cycle of poverty are just as crucial today as they were when The Message and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 49. Three5S I.C.T In Our Society This report is about how ICT has affected us as a society. For example, for entertainment purposes like games consoles, communication purposes such as mobile phones, storage purposes such as storing music on a CD or for social purposes such as email. E mail The first thing I will look at will be email. With email you can quickly talk to friends, work colleagues, basically anyone who has an email address. I have two email accounts, one at home provided by hotmail, which is useful because I can log on to it anywhere via the Internet. I also have one at school provided by Solihull L.E.A, which I can only access at school; both have a unique log on I.D and password. With my personal ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Say for instance I had done a word document in history on Hitler and the Nazis, I may want to carry on with it at home but when I come to send it, I can t because I have too many pictures on there that take up space. Also if someone doesn t have broadband than it could take a long time to attach a document or presentation to an email and even with broadband it could take a long time depending on the size of the file. A good thing about most email accounts is that they are free but then I get a lot of adverts and pop ups. If email companies are going to give people free email then they need to get the money from somewhere to make sure they can afford the payment of the site, this is where the adverts and pop ups come in, other companies pay companies such as hotmail to put their adverts and pop ups on their websites hence hotmail can pay for the upkeep of the site. I can set up a filter on my email account so that I only receive emails from people in my address book. The problem is though that before I can receive emails from someone I need to add them to my address book and if someone changes their email I need to edit my address book. The alternatives to email are fax, which can be quick but can cost a lot of money, or text that is quick so long as the other person has their phone on; you also need signal and credit, which can be a problem. Both can be useful if email is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
