Don John Villain Essay
At first glance the character Don John resembles a traditional villain. Miriam Webster defines a villain
as, a cruelly malicious person who is involved in or devoted to wickedness or crime , but does this
truly define the psyche of Don John? As a bastard, or an illegitimate son, Don John has always been
out of the spotlight, portrayed as an idea of someone who doesn t belong in a natural heir decent. In
reality though, Don John is one of the only people in the play that shows a vulnerable, honest
reflection of himself. In a scene he confesses to Conrad that, [he] cannot hide what [he is]. [he] must
be sad / when [he has] cause, and smile at no man s jests; eat when [he has] / stomach, and wait for no
man s leisure; sleep when [he is] / drowsy, and tend on no man s business (I.3.10 13). Because for ...

Other characters, like the Prince, have a place in the society of Messina. Despite being the only
character without this social status, Don John is one of the only characters who stays true to who he
thinks he is. Thought the play several of the other charters call into question who they are, who they
support, and what role they play, but Don John stands apart. IN act one this becomes more evident as
he declares himself a plain dealing villain (I.3.25), and that others should seek not to alter [him]
(I.3.29), meaning that altho is position as a outsider was not chosen, he knows his place and his
identity. This rhetoric that Don John states draws a stark comparison and revels the reality that all the
confusion that is caused is because the other charters are not capable of honest reflections of
themselves. If Claudio was able to do an honest reflection about himself, perhaps he would have
realized that his quickly changed mind about affections for Hero means that he is not in love at all. IN
addition perhaps is Hero was able to this same sort of reflection, he would have realized that in her
marriage she sought only to please others, and her happiness lie

Swimming Biomechanics
If you woke up breathing, congratulations! You have another chance. ~Andrea Boydston
I began swimming at the age of 4 and I was fortunate to earn a college swimming scholarship at
Purdue University. At Purdue, I was a good swimmer and really worked hard each and every day.
However, my at the time girlfriend (and current wife, also a swimmer) always said I looked like a
recreational swimmer! She made this comment as I wore old school foam goggles and my head
moved all around during freestyle. Needless to say, my breathing biomechanics were far from ideal,
despite being on a collegiate swimming scholarship!
Breathing is a simplistically complex task. Everyone can breathe, but the mechanics are complicated.
Unfortunately, in swimming this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Therefore, this information isn t ground breaking. Yet, if one is anxious or stressed, they ll begin
taking short, shallow breaths. This short, shallow breathing is highly damaging to swimming
performance, as it will increase your breathing frequency and fatigue of the inspiratory muscles.
Moreover, you ll constantly feel out of breath and tired with this fast and shallow breathing pattern.
Tip: If you can t stay relaxed, hold you breath for 3 seconds underwater, then exhale directly before
your next breath.
Lifting the head or armpit breathing are two common swimming flaws during the freestyle breathing
motion. These motions greatly impede the swimming stroke as they create more drag. Recently,
Formosa (2014) researched breathing and drag in elite male and female swimmers.
The male participants demonstrated that the breathing action caused a greater (26 %) net drag force
compared to the females (16 %). To further understand the influence of breathing on swimming
technique, each stroke was analyzed and comparisons were made between the breathing and non

Budget Friendly Apps
You have more choices than ever when it comes to buying stuff. On top of malls, mom and pops, big
boxes, and your friendly neighbourhood store, you have entire shopping emporiums on the Internet.
With a galaxy of choices at your fingertips, it can be difficult to commit to a budget or even set one.
But you know that you have to buy things at some point; unless you grow a prolific garden, you need
food to put on the table.
Fortunately, the same technology that has spawned these choices has given rise to applications
designed to help you cut down spending. Some help you fix a budget. Some give you coupons to steep
deals. Some facilitate price comparisons, while others suggest affordable restaurants. Some even earn
money.
These apps will lead you down the path of frugality in no time:
1. Unsplurge
Unsplurge s developers know the story well: Person sets budget, then watches it unravel all because
no one holds him or her accountable.
What sets Unsplurge from other budgeting tools is that it leverages the power of peer support. This
app keeps you on the wagon by displaying their budget goals to other users, with the goal of getting
them to motivate you. Sometimes a pat on the back is all you need to avoid flushing your money down
the drain. Businesses would do well to include this in a suite of apps to streamline their operations.
2. Pocket Expense Personal Finance
You never have to be reckless with your income again, not with the way this app keeps track of your

The Issue Of Political Corruption
The issue of political corruption is as persistent as it is prevalent; that is to say, it exists ambiguously,
politically, and in undefined terms. Generally, political corruption is understood to mean a breach of
the public trust in the course of a politician s duties (Huigens 2010). In any democracy that is truly for
the people by the people, it should be easy to weed out the corrupt politicians. That said, the
corruption of any one politician does not always translate to a different election outcome and some
electors may benefit from a corrupt representative (Ionescu 2013). This is because of the ambiguous
and political environment in which political corruption occurs. Since politicians have the power to
create laws, they do not willingly create laws that criminalize their actions. This has led for the
expansion of honest services mail fraud by the courts to include politicians actions (Huigens 2010).
However, the courts have not always been consistent. Sometimes actions of the courts create strain on
a politician such that they could not get elected without first getting corrupted (Issacharoff 2010). This
process has the effect of shifting representatives power from the people to corporations (Evertsson
2013). Still, with a high profile enough case, a corrupt politician can be outrooted by the ballot box
(Ionescu 2015). However, organizational deviance has a causal effect on relevant actors (Tatham
2016) especially when the issue is as widespread as Mr. Silver

Examples Of Utopian Society
An utopian society can be defined as a most ideal place where everyone desire. Utopia is an imaginary
place for some characteristics that actually cannot be achieved for. But still many people had tried to
create a utopia for their earnest will to live in a best society. Now day people s situation, which can be
said as abject and hopeless, had made them to dream of a wonderland that cannot exist. Brook Farm,
Kibbutz, and Walden Two are some examples for the created utopian society. They all have some
incompleteness, because there would be many irony factors to create a real utopia, but they can be said
as some relatively complete utopian societies. The best over these three examples will probably be the
Walden Two society, because it has the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

did not had this organized system. Brook Farm s founder had first founded Brook Farm based on
Transcendentalism, but then he suddenly changed to Fourierism. This sudden change had confused the
members and the change was not able to cover the society s biggest problem of lack of income. The
lack of income over the society can truly prove that the system there was not complete and it was not
well planned. Also in Kibbutz, the leadership of government had suppressed the innovation. This
community did not have the ability to elevate the standard of living. They were not able to adapt to the
change and improve the educational system. The Kibbutz is a so called has been society. The failure of

Arguably, human beings face cognitive association in their daily life. This occurs in the different
spheres of life spanning from personal relations to different encounters that man has. The different
associations we have been found to be instrumental in shaping up man s thoughts, as well as behavior
and cognitions. Both behavior and cognition are two important aspects of social psychology, which
discusses the human behavior in the various social settings. These researchers established that man has
different characters that are influenced by the presence of other individuals. Furthermore, the
characters are dependent on one s social influence, the social perception and the various social

However, before a person experiences what the environment has to give, there are the preconceptions
and opinions that people have about the reality, either based on reason or experience. People have
prejudices that impact how they respond to the environment before it influences them. Therefore,
persons have preconceptions and expectations about the reality of what the environment has to offer
even before it influences them. People`s cognitive association makes them believe that they are real
and justifiable despite their prejudices such as expectations of unfriendly environment that may not be
based on experience or knowledge. Therefore, people can use their prejudices to shape the
environment. For example, individuals may expect unfriendly environment, but they can utilize their
characters to influence the people around them to behave in a friendly way. Specifically, in the case of
Goetz, Gladwell describes Goetz is Surrounded on all sides by graffiti covered walls (233). According
to this statement, Gladwell believes that the graffiti on the subways and buses greatly influenced the
behavior of Goetz. Clearly, Goetz had a preconception that the place was unsafe because of the
presence of the offensive graffiti. As a result, Goetz behavior was not purely influenced by the
cognitive associations, but by both cognitive association and the environment. On the contrary, if

Examples Of Nick Carraway In The Great Gatsby
F. Scott Fitzgerald s Attitude towards Nick Carraway in the Great Gatsby Known as the Roaring
Twenties, the time period in which The Great Gatsby takes place in is a period filled with dramatic
social and political change. Nick (like everyone) is flawed. He says Reserving judgments is a matter
of infinite hope. (Fitzgerald 3.)but contradicts this statement by judging everyone throughout the
novel, but even though Nick has some flaws Fitzgerald uses Nick Carraway to show the people of his
society how one should be loyal, and honest, in a time of corruption, materialism, and immorality.
Even after Gatsby s death Nick remained loyal to Gatsby by being one of the only people to attend his

honest hard working man who wants to make his money legally even if it means turning down a vast

What Does Individualism Mean In The Fountainhead Toohey
A Beautiful You To be beautiful means to be yourself. You don t need to be accepted by others. You
need to accept yourself. (author unknown) In Ayn Rand s The Fountainhead Toohey, the antagonist,
questions Roark on his thoughts towards Toohey, himself. Roark then replied in a distant manner that
he does not think of Toohey. Throughout the book, the reader may find themselves contemplating
Rand s purpose of presenting the contrasting ideas of conformity and Independence despite the clear
distinction apparent in exchange. Rand begins the novel by portraying Roark as an uneducated but

For people like these characters, such as Toohey and Keating, does pleasing others fuel them because
they have approval or rather the satisfaction of being the center of attention? There was so much to
build that none of them thought of wasting structural effort on their own shelters (Rand 507). If
Toohey and Keating were so obsessed with the idea of pleasing people, it would make sense for them
to not care about their presence as they do others. In this novel it appeared that most architectures don
t care about their own house because the approval of others is consuming them. These characters only
want the approval so that their business may strive and will be recognized as talented and a desired
artist. They do not fret because of how their house may perceive them but how their work perceives
them. However, we should be concerned on how people look upon us as Roark unknowingly does.

Rhetorical Analysis Of Donald Trump s Speech
Donald Trump recently gave a speech discussing rising Radical Islamic Terrorism, immigration from
the Middle East, and a need for a rise in national security while Manchester, New Hampshire on June
13th 2016. He centers his whole speech around discussing how bad a President his opponent, Hillary
Clinton, would be in difficult times. Trump graduated from the Wharton School of Finance in 1968
with a bachelor s degree in economics, and has become a very successful businessman. He s the
Republican nominee for this upcoming presidential election, and is a very controversial candidate and
person. He has come under fire for many of his views that he discusses in his June 13th speech. While
Trump does make some agreeably points, he renders his speech ineffective because of his heavy
reliance on Clinton s opinion to form his own. If Trump were to become President, his stance on
important issues would need to be reached with careful consideration, and not just based on doing the
opposite of his opponents. Trump s speech was written with the goal of discrediting Clinton.Trump
discusses how he believes that the rise in terror attacks on US soil is the direct result of the influx of
immigrants from the Middle East. He also believes that the rise in terrorism calls for a rise in national
security and less people entering the country. He claims that if he were president he d put a temporary

Technology Is A Helpful Tool For Teaching The Writing Process
Technology is a helpful tool for teaching the writing process, and Marchisan and Alber (2001)
concluded that writers can be taught to write using the writing process approach paired with tools of
technology, direct instruction, and committed well trained teachers. Graham, (2008), Graham and
Perin (2007a), and Rogers and Graham, (2008), agreed that technology makes the process of writing
easier and often provides very specific types of support. Word processing provides at least four
advantages: (a) revisions are easily made, (b) publishing is professional looking, (c) typing provides
an easier means for children with fine motor skill challenges to produce text, and (d) word processing
programs have software programs, such as spell and stylistic checkers designed to reduce specific
types of miscues. Other tools are speech synthesis (i.e., the writer s spoken words are transcribed to
electronic text) and word prediction programs (i.e., the computer program reduces the key strokes by
predicting the writer s next word). This is helpful for students with difficulties with spelling and the
mechanics of writing. In addition, outlining and semantic mapping software can aide with the
planning process, and the use of computer networks and the Internet can help to promote
communication and collaboration among writers.
Students prefer technology based assignments and are found to use more words and an expanded
vocabulary when expressing themselves in blog posts (Berezina, 2011;

S. N. 1 Lab Report
As discussed in lecture, the determining factors of a substitution reaction is likely to occur in either
S_N 1 or S_N 2 by: substrates, leaving group, strength of the nucleophile, and the type of solvent.
When conducting the S_N 1 portion of the experiment, the solvent used was 1% silver nitrate in
ethanol solution (〖AgNO〗_3). This solvent is polar protic. This is the best type of solvent needed
for an S_N 1 reaction because the hydrogen atom is positively charged while the nucleophile is
negatively charged achieving a hydrogen bond. Two factors that contributed to the rate of reaction for
S_N 1 are stability of the carbocation and the leaving group departure. The more stable the
carbocation, the faster the reaction generates and the better the leaving group, it creates a carbocation
faster, which in turn leads to a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The following six of the nine alkyl halides produced precipitates at room temperature: 2 bromobutane,
t butyl chloride, crotyl chloride, bromocyclohexane, bromocyclopentane, and benzyl chloride. All of
these alkyl halides reacted in room temperature because they were either secondary or tertiary carbons
except for crotyl chloride. These types of structures (tertiary) are favored in the case of S_N 1 while
secondary can undergo either S_N 1 or S_N 2. The only primary carbon that reacted quickly was
crotyl chloride because it is an allylic substrate, which can undergo S_N 1. On the other hand the three
remaining alkyl halides did not react at room temperature: 1 chlorobutane, 2 chlorobutane, and
bromobenzene. These three alkyl halides were then heated at 80℃. 1 chlorobutane s alpha carbon is
primary, so heat is needed in order to create more collision resulting in a reaction. 2 chlorobutane and
2 bromobutane have similar structures, but the latter reacted in room temperature because Br is a
better leaving group than Cl. Lastly, bromobenzene did not react even after adding heat

Skeletal System Informative Speech
Have you ever wondered whats in your body? well i m here to tell you about the skeletal system that
every human being haves, and if you don t have one something is wrong which i highly doubt if thats

Without that we wouldn t be here because without that our body would shutdown and we would

The skeletal system haves 6 primary functions. which includes support, protection, movement,
mineral homeostasis, blood cell protection, and storage. All of these functions are a big part of our
body and are helping us out even if we don t know they are. The support function provides structural
support for the entire body. The mineral homeostasis stores calcium and phosphorus. The blood cell
production is the red bone marrow which produces red and white blood cells and other elements. My
favorite function is protection because it provides soft tissue around the heart, lungs, ribs, and most
importantly the brain. Another one of my favorites is movement , because i like to move and i m a

Mary Shelley s Frankenstein Comparison
The movie Mary Shelley s Frankenstein, directed by Kenneth Branagh may be the most accurate
depiction of such a prestigious work of art in Mary Shelley s novel titled Frankenstein. The movie
encompasses the themes that Shelley set out to exhibit in her own novel in a mirror like fashion except
for the reason it is being portrayed on the big screen rather than on paper. In addition to the messages
being displayed in the film and novel being alike, the storylines were almost identical. The movie
even included the highly beneficial frame story with Robert Walton and his crew and their travelings
to the North Pole. Lastly, the actors and props within the movie could not have done a better job of
portraying the feelings of the characters and the setting of this well known story. ... Show more

Both of these themes are very accurately depicted in the film, as Shelley wrote them out in her novel.
For example, in the novel the dangers of knowledge are demonstrated when Victor Frankenstein uses
his own knowledge to create a monster which ends up being dangerous to all of humanity. However at
the conclusion of the novel, after Robert Walton understands what knowledge can do, he still leads his
crew in pursuit to the North Pole for knowledge. Now, the film portrays the exact line of events except
when Walton discovers what knowledge can do, instead of ignoring it, he turns his ship around for the
safety of himself and his crew. This may be even more effective to a reader or observer understanding
the theme, witnessing a character realize the unfortunate events of another character and making better
decisions for themselves. So, not only does the movie illustrate the same themes as Shelley does in her
novel, but it may even exhibit them in a more perceptible

Sacrifice In Genesis
There has been some debate about Genesis and the actual time that it was written. Many people have
their theories and beliefs, but the truth is yet to be found. Genesis was said to be wrote by Moses,
however according to the reading I could assume that is not the case. Others also believe that Moses
was the author of the Genesis. The understanding of when Genesis as well as the other four books in
the Old Testament were wrote can help modern day understand the writings more. The Pentateuch
could use some clarifying and Ibn Ezra, Benedict Spinoza, Astruc, and Julius Wellhausen have all had
their own opinions about the issue. Many questions have been brought to light over the years. Some of
these include, why are there two such clearly different creation stories at the very beginning of the
Bible?, Why is sacrifice mentioned so casually at the dawn of time, and why does it play such a big
role with Cain and Abel?, If Adam and Eve were the first humans, from where did Cain get his wife
and how can he be afraid of other people retaliating for murdering his brother?, Why is the flood story
so choppy and repetitive? (Enns, 2). These are all questions that are not only wondered ... Show more

not the author of the book (Enns, 2). The book talks about Moses dying, this is a clear indicator that
the book was not written by Moses, and rather someone else who lived longer than Moses did. A
second early interpreter of Deuteronomy was the twelfth century rabbi Abraham Ibn Ezra. Ibn Ezra
was brilliant and respected and also reluctant to break with tradition too quickly including the tradition
that Moses wrote the Pentateuch (Enns, 3). He shared many passages that he felt did not align with

Net Neutrality
Introduction:
Net Neutrality is allowing users to free and open access of internet irrespective of sources or internet
providers demanding special charges in order to use services provided by them. Now a days Internet is
one of the essential part for everyday communication in life. Several services were used in our day to
day life for example GPS tracking, google, Wikipedia, Netflix etc., and we can t imagine a day
without the internet. Internet Service providers combining with corporations were utilizing this and
trying to make profit out of this by imposing more charges on the user in order to utilize the services
needed for him with more speed and flexibility. There are several discussions and debates supporting
and opposing net neutrality. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example, if user orders a book from amazon through prime, the delivery should be delivered to
user with in two days. Most of the deliveries of amazon are taken care by FedEx services. If the
delivery was late there may be chance of user complaining about it and loss of reputation for
company. This situation advantage will be taken by FedEx and asks deal with the amazon to pay extra
charges like shipping tax. There should be a win win opportunity between both sided as if amazon
chooses other service there may be loss of business for FedEx. Also up to certain amount will be paid
by company and if there is any extra user has to shipping charges for product delivery to reach in time.
Same case will reflect in internet service as well. There will a win win situation deals between the
internet service provider and corporations in order to provide proper services to user. Internet service
provider acts as a keeper so that it can allow the services with more bandwidth and speed who has

Banning Fictional Novels In All American Boys
Fiction novel s shows us the views and perspective others. This type of literature help us gain a more
broader perspective and can teach us more about our society. The idea of banning fictional novels is a
very foolish idea. These novels do more good than they do harm and are beneficial for our curriculum
and learning. Taking away this literature will not benefit our learning and will only harm our learning.
Literature is a luxury; fiction is a necessity. said G.K. Chesterton.
The novel All American Boys is a fictional story written by Jason Reynolds and Brendan Kiely. This
story is about the different perspective of two boys in high school, Rashad and Quinn. Rashad is an
African American and Quinn is a Caucasian American. In the book, ... Show more content on

fictional novels helps us put ourselves in others positions and this helps us and makes it more clear to

Similarities Between The Book And The Movie The Great Gatsby
The Great Gatsby Romance, love, and destiny. Connections are formed like bridges built of various
things; love, trust, money, fate. Some bridges are stronger than others and some bridges connect
people who perhaps shouldn t be connected. The movie The Great Gatsby better expresses the
romantic relationships and connections between characters. Between Tom and Daisy, whose
relationship may have more to do with survival than love, with Myrtle and Tom, the bridge between
them connecting two souls searching for something more in life. And then there are bridges like the
one between Jordan and Nick, filled with lies and a bridge not often travelled, and if you re lucky you
come across a bridge like Gatsby and Daisy s, which is made of love but filled with obstacles. These
bridges play a key part in the story and the movie most definitely does a better job at expressing these
connections between characters. Tom and Daisy have a very complicated relationship and the movie
better demonstrates their complex relationship than the book. The film shows all the small gestures
they share, and the novel gives the impression Daisy somewhat resented Tom after Gatsby s death, and
the movie also humanizes Tom on a higher level than the book. In the film when Daisy told Tom she
had never loved him while they were in town she immediately after addresses Gatsby with a cold
reply detaching herself from the situation and seems angry at Gatsby making her tell Tom she didn t
love him (The Great

Analysis Of Detroit, The Motor City
Detroit, the motor city, known by many for cars and to others for being the murder capital of the
world. This has caused many people to stop visiting and exclude Detroit from being a place of interest.
I have lived here all my life, and yes it has had its rough times but lately Detroit has been improving
drastically. The causes of the city to improve were to make people already living here feel safer.
Moreover, to change our illustration as one of the most dangerous cities. In addition to this we want
people to start visiting again and to see the metamorphosis that has struck our city. Many recent
changes brought to our city have been architectural, criminal rates precipitating and film making. The
city as a whole has been working diligently to improve and keep improving. Although we face
economical issues, dealing with the bankruptcy has been priority to many. By analyzing Detroit these
past few years there has been major change everywhere that has brought a positive effect to our
atmosphere. In recent years, Detroit has pulverized much of its violence within the city. It has been
working with state police and county sheriffs to ensure that people who live here are safer. The city is
slowly but surely revitalizing and becoming a place of interest to many. Moreover personal
experiences have made me see this. A few years back I would hardly see any police cars patrolling
neighborhoods but now I see many always patrolling in southwest Detroit. This has had a positive
effect

Jimi Henderson Analysis
David Henderson, an African American poet, wrote the article Jimi Hendrix Deep Within the Blues
and Alive Onstage at Woodstock 25 Years After Death to show how Jimi Hendrix has continued to
influence many people after his untimely death. Additionally, Henderson claims that no other musician
has been able to replicate Hendrix s precise and rapid picking and his recognizance of sound and
noise. Henderson personally knew Hendrix as he previously wrote his book Scuse Me While I Kiss
The Sky to express his opinion on popular black music at the time and as a promise he made to
Hendrix at a nightclub in Manhattan in 1969. It is impossible to deny that Jimi Hendrix has not
continued to be one of the most influential music artists due to his unique way of play[ing] with
feedback, control[ing] it, and make[ing] it melodic. A skill that no other musical artist has been able to
replicate. Another important aspect of Hendrix s life ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In addition, many modern musicians have paid homage to Hendrix by performing covers of his songs.
Examples include when the Red Hot Chili Peppers performed Fire and when Living Colour performed
Crosstown Traffic in their tribute album. Jimi Hendrix has even had some influence over the rap genre
with well known rapper, Future naming his second album HNDRXX. Henderson also states that to
listen to Hendrix today is constantly to be reminded of his gifts. Hendrix is highly regarded as one of
the best guitarist in history even though his musical career only spanned four years. With his
psychedelic inspired riffs, improvisational ability and his ability to range between pure blues and
avant garde jazz forms it is no surprise that he is often referred to as a virtuoso artist on

Globalisation And Globalization
The world today is more globalised than ever before, with people, technologies and ideas migrating
across borders in increasingly large numbers. These movements are a powerful force for change, and
raise important questions among anthropologists about how culture, community and conflict have
changed in response to globalisation. In this essay, I argue that while the nature of globalisation has
changed over the years, it has consistently been a driver of internal conflict and societal change. Two
case studies are utilised, from India and Peru, to demonstrate how globalisation introduces new ideas
and opportunities that challenge existing power structures, identities, values and cultural norms. This,
in turn, leads to my final argument that in the process of trying to prevent change, many leaders
actually deepens existing social fractures which ultimately results in conflict and inevitable social,
political, economic and cultural transformation.
Throughout human history there has been a continuous tradition of trade and investment across
territories and cultures. European imperialism represents a significant early example of globalisation,
and the process has increased exponentially in the centuries since. Several events contributed to a
period of period of hyper globalisation since the start of the twentieth century, such the collapse of the
Soviet Union and reintegration of Soviet and East Asian nations into the global economy, the
privatisation of nationalised industries

Use Of Renewable Resources For Alternative Fuels
Current transportation is heavily dependent on fossil fuels such as oil, gas, and coal. Petroleum based
fuels such as gasoline and diesel fuel, the most commonly used fossil fuels, are causing increasing
global concern because petroleum is a finite resource. This means that as the amount of available
petroleum decreases over time, the need for alternative fuels will increase. This is an important matter
because it affects global energy security, food security, the environment, and economies. With
governments around the world attempting to cope with increasing greenhouse gas emissions, the
world is turning to cleaner, more efficient energy use and the use of renewable resources to address air
pollution, global warming, and climate change. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
With the global population continuously increasing, the use of farmland and grains for the world s
food supply will be competing with the use of the same land for biofuel production, which may lead to
an increase in food prices around the world.
Global bioethanol and biodiesel production has significantly increased over the last 14 years. It is
possible that biofuels produced from crops using conventional agricultural methods will increase the
stresses on water supplies, water quality, and land use, compared to petroleum fuels. There would be
agricultural competition between food crops and energy crops for resources such as land and water.
Agricultural expansion due to increased prices of foods would place further stress on water supplies
due to increased irrigation. Population growth, climate change, and natural disasters also place
additional stress on water supplies, but these factors are already at play and natural disasters may be
unpredictable (Koh and Ghazoul, 2008). Increasing biofuel production will affect the biogeophysical
capabilities of soil due to changes in land use and may affect the nitrogen cycle due to increased use of
nitrogen fertilizer (Delucchi, 2010). Recent research into using wood and grass for cellulosic ethanol
production may be fruitful as most of these crops can be grown on agriculturally degraded land

My Favourite Friend
It was a pleasant day,I can plainly recall that ,not long ago,we were in class 8th then. The sun was at
the highest point, shining gay,and we three,Arpita Varshneya,Pragati and I,were there in the sun
devising a plan to take revenge on our so called teaser friend, Rishika, the award winning prankster
and our friend from the next door, class 8 B. Friendship with this girl was a kind of compromise for
we three, for she lived in our colony and had known us since childhood.Although, she seemed nice by
her talks,as any new person might be mistaken for her being a nice girl, her other side was known only
to her friends. As I mentioned earlier, she was literally an award winning prankster, the dupes, the
unfortunates who had been fair games of this trickster, must surely have cussed her of her goofy
antics. We have been friends since first grade, but her this side was exposed to me first only when one
day she tried on her favourite magician s,Julius Dein s,trick on me and under the trick s name, ate my
whole pizza. Since then, arpita, pragati and I have always been the victims of her tricks. It was just a
day before that when she, at pragati s birthday party, threw the whole big cake on her face in over
excitement; wretched, we had to survive without the cake on birthday!Back before that, when we were
leaving for home after our coaching class, she perforated the tyre of my bicycle and I had to drag my
bicycle all the way home. And not to forget about the April fools day, such a fearful day

Spirituality And Religiosity
While consensus among researchers on the definition of spirituality and religiosity is lacking, what it
means to be spiritual or religious and what constitutes a spiritual person in the literature is still very
highly researched (Stranahan, 2008). Many definitions of religiosity and spirituality include religious
service attendance, some sort of meaning and purpose in life, personal strength to cope with
difficulties, and believing in a higher being (Stranahan, 2008). Older adults tend to have stronger faith
and greater spirituality than younger populations (Moberg, 2005). This difference in spirituality
between younger populations and older adults is possibly tied to the deepening of spiritual interests
and concern during the later years (Moberg, 2005, p. 15). Older adults tend to become more religious,
or turn to religion more as they age, instead of maintaining a high level of religiosity throughout their
lives (Moberg, 2005). Spirituality and religiosity are very important to the aging process due to the
connection observed in many studies between spiritual health and physical and mental health and well
being, with religion having protective health effects. Much research has been conducted on the
association between religion and spirituality and physical and mental health outcomes, especially
among older adults. This paper will summarize the recent findings related to religion and spirituality
and health in older adults, including a discussion on the theory of

Plato And Philo Reflection Paper
Philosophy came from two Greek words: Philo (love) and Sophia (wisdom). It was Pythagoras who
coined the term and he was the first to call himself as a lover of wisdom. According to St. Thomas
Aquinas, a theologian and a philosopher who was inspired from the works of Aristotle said that
Philosophy is the science of all things in their ultimate causes. In Modern Period, the Rationalists
believed that reason makes man and it is the most necessary whenever one philosophizes. On the other
hand, the empiricists will tell that Sensation is the most important whenever we philosophize. It s like

The Most Formative Experience Of My Christian Life
Carmanie Bhatti s Written Response to 310.2 a d
For
The Board of Ordained Ministry, Northern Illinois Conference of the UMC
i. The Most Formative Experience of My Christian Life:
I grew up in Pakistan with a diverse culture around me. Before moving to the U.S., the city I grew up
in was a blend of people who lived there because of their jobs, education and business purposes. I
learned that poverty, marginalization and violence, neither had a religion nor selects people of a
specific faith to attack them. This made me devote myself to the church and its programs to serve all
children of God spreading the good news of Jesus Christ and fighting for social justice against the
systemic evil in the world.
At church, in addition to my participation in the worship services, I volunteered at our church s soup
kitchen, medical camps and elementary school for underprivileged children. These experiences
opened my eyes to the deprivation of love and care in the world and a dire need of God s grace for
people at large so they could receive forgiveness, healing and restoration in their lives.
My spiritual formation took a new turn when in 2013 my parents house was burned down in an arson.
At that time, I was living with my parents. Since, the house was not insured, our local church and our
acquaintances in the neighborhood helped us financially so we could rebuild our house, while a family
in the neighborhood gave us shelter at their house. The love and care of the

  • 2. Don John Villain Essay At first glance the character Don John resembles a traditional villain. Miriam Webster defines a villain as, a cruelly malicious person who is involved in or devoted to wickedness or crime , but does this truly define the psyche of Don John? As a bastard, or an illegitimate son, Don John has always been out of the spotlight, portrayed as an idea of someone who doesn t belong in a natural heir decent. In reality though, Don John is one of the only people in the play that shows a vulnerable, honest reflection of himself. In a scene he confesses to Conrad that, [he] cannot hide what [he is]. [he] must be sad / when [he has] cause, and smile at no man s jests; eat when [he has] / stomach, and wait for no man s leisure; sleep when [he is] / drowsy, and tend on no man s business (I.3.10 13). Because for ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Other characters, like the Prince, have a place in the society of Messina. Despite being the only character without this social status, Don John is one of the only characters who stays true to who he thinks he is. Thought the play several of the other charters call into question who they are, who they support, and what role they play, but Don John stands apart. IN act one this becomes more evident as he declares himself a plain dealing villain (I.3.25), and that others should seek not to alter [him] (I.3.29), meaning that altho is position as a outsider was not chosen, he knows his place and his identity. This rhetoric that Don John states draws a stark comparison and revels the reality that all the confusion that is caused is because the other charters are not capable of honest reflections of themselves. If Claudio was able to do an honest reflection about himself, perhaps he would have realized that his quickly changed mind about affections for Hero means that he is not in love at all. IN addition perhaps is Hero was able to this same sort of reflection, he would have realized that in her marriage she sought only to please others, and her happiness lie ... • 3. Swimming Biomechanics If you woke up breathing, congratulations! You have another chance. ~Andrea Boydston I began swimming at the age of 4 and I was fortunate to earn a college swimming scholarship at Purdue University. At Purdue, I was a good swimmer and really worked hard each and every day. However, my at the time girlfriend (and current wife, also a swimmer) always said I looked like a recreational swimmer! She made this comment as I wore old school foam goggles and my head moved all around during freestyle. Needless to say, my breathing biomechanics were far from ideal, despite being on a collegiate swimming scholarship! Breathing is a simplistically complex task. Everyone can breathe, but the mechanics are complicated. Unfortunately, in swimming this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Therefore, this information isn t ground breaking. Yet, if one is anxious or stressed, they ll begin taking short, shallow breaths. This short, shallow breathing is highly damaging to swimming performance, as it will increase your breathing frequency and fatigue of the inspiratory muscles. Moreover, you ll constantly feel out of breath and tired with this fast and shallow breathing pattern. Tip: If you can t stay relaxed, hold you breath for 3 seconds underwater, then exhale directly before your next breath. Lifting the head or armpit breathing are two common swimming flaws during the freestyle breathing motion. These motions greatly impede the swimming stroke as they create more drag. Recently, Formosa (2014) researched breathing and drag in elite male and female swimmers. The male participants demonstrated that the breathing action caused a greater (26 %) net drag force compared to the females (16 %). To further understand the influence of breathing on swimming technique, each stroke was analyzed and comparisons were made between the breathing and non breathing ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Budget Friendly Apps You have more choices than ever when it comes to buying stuff. On top of malls, mom and pops, big boxes, and your friendly neighbourhood store, you have entire shopping emporiums on the Internet. With a galaxy of choices at your fingertips, it can be difficult to commit to a budget or even set one. But you know that you have to buy things at some point; unless you grow a prolific garden, you need food to put on the table. Fortunately, the same technology that has spawned these choices has given rise to applications designed to help you cut down spending. Some help you fix a budget. Some give you coupons to steep deals. Some facilitate price comparisons, while others suggest affordable restaurants. Some even earn money. These apps will lead you down the path of frugality in no time: 1. Unsplurge Unsplurge s developers know the story well: Person sets budget, then watches it unravel all because no one holds him or her accountable. What sets Unsplurge from other budgeting tools is that it leverages the power of peer support. This app keeps you on the wagon by displaying their budget goals to other users, with the goal of getting them to motivate you. Sometimes a pat on the back is all you need to avoid flushing your money down the drain. Businesses would do well to include this in a suite of apps to streamline their operations. 2. • 5. The Issue Of Political Corruption The issue of political corruption is as persistent as it is prevalent; that is to say, it exists ambiguously, politically, and in undefined terms. Generally, political corruption is understood to mean a breach of the public trust in the course of a politician s duties (Huigens 2010). In any democracy that is truly for the people by the people, it should be easy to weed out the corrupt politicians. That said, the corruption of any one politician does not always translate to a different election outcome and some electors may benefit from a corrupt representative (Ionescu 2013). This is because of the ambiguous and political environment in which political corruption occurs. Since politicians have the power to create laws, they do not willingly create laws that criminalize their actions. This has led for the expansion of honest services mail fraud by the courts to include politicians actions (Huigens 2010). However, the courts have not always been consistent. Sometimes actions of the courts create strain on a politician such that they could not get elected without first getting corrupted (Issacharoff 2010). This process has the effect of shifting representatives power from the people to corporations (Evertsson 2013). Still, with a high profile enough case, a corrupt politician can be outrooted by the ballot box (Ionescu 2015). However, organizational deviance has a causal effect on relevant actors (Tatham 2016) especially when the issue is as widespread as Mr. Silver ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Utopia is an imaginary place for some characteristics that actually cannot be achieved for. But still many people had tried to create a utopia for their earnest will to live in a best society. Now day people s situation, which can be said as abject and hopeless, had made them to dream of a wonderland that cannot exist. Brook Farm, Kibbutz, and Walden Two are some examples for the created utopian society. They all have some incompleteness, because there would be many irony factors to create a real utopia, but they can be said as some relatively complete utopian societies. Brook Farm s founder had first founded Brook Farm based on Transcendentalism, but then he suddenly changed to Fourierism. This sudden change had confused the members and the change was not able to cover the society s biggest problem of lack of income. The lack of income over the society can truly prove that the system there was not complete and it was not well planned. Also in Kibbutz, the leadership of government had suppressed the innovation. This occurs in the different spheres of life spanning from personal relations to different encounters that man has. The different associations we have been found to be instrumental in shaping up man s thoughts, as well as behavior and cognitions. Both behavior and cognition are two important aspects of social psychology, which discusses the human behavior in the various social settings. People`s cognitive association makes them believe that they are real and justifiable despite their prejudices such as expectations of unfriendly environment that may not be based on experience or knowledge. Therefore, people can use their prejudices to shape the environment. For example, individuals may expect unfriendly environment, but they can utilize their characters to influence the people around them to behave in a friendly way. According to this statement, Gladwell believes that the graffiti on the subways and buses greatly influenced the behavior of Goetz. Roark then replied in a distant manner that he does not think of Toohey. Throughout the book, the reader may find themselves contemplating Rand s purpose of presenting the contrasting ideas of conformity and Independence despite the clear distinction apparent in exchange. If Toohey and Keating were so obsessed with the idea of pleasing people, it would make sense for them to not care about their presence as they do others. In this novel it appeared that most architectures don t care about their own house because the approval of others is consuming them. These characters only want the approval so that their business may strive and will be recognized as talented and a desired artist. • 13. Rhetorical Analysis Of Donald Trump s Speech Donald Trump recently gave a speech discussing rising Radical Islamic Terrorism, immigration from the Middle East, and a need for a rise in national security while Manchester, New Hampshire on June 13th 2016. He centers his whole speech around discussing how bad a President his opponent, Hillary Clinton, would be in difficult times. Trump graduated from the Wharton School of Finance in 1968 with a bachelor s degree in economics, and has become a very successful businessman. He s the Republican nominee for this upcoming presidential election, and is a very controversial candidate and person. He has come under fire for many of his views that he discusses in his June 13th speech. While Trump does make some agreeably points, he renders his speech ineffective because of his heavy reliance on Clinton s opinion to form his own. If Trump were to become President, his stance on important issues would need to be reached with careful consideration, and not just based on doing the opposite of his opponents. Trump s speech was written with the goal of discrediting Clinton.Trump discusses how he believes that the rise in terror attacks on US soil is the direct result of the influx of immigrants from the Middle East. He was successfully resuscitated at Coney Island Hospital in New York. His chest x ray and CT scan showed evidence of pulmonary edema, bleeding, and pneumonia. A CT exam of his had showed brain edema. He had a blood Ph of 6.83 and a potassium level of 6.0 mEq/L. He was stabilized and transferred to Maimonides Medical Center (MMC).Blood test performed on baby Ryan at MMC revealed that Ryan had an elevated band neutrophil count, hyperglycemia, hyperkalemia, hyperammonimia, hemolytic anemia, liver damage, hypophosphatemia, and hypermagnesium. His PT, PTT, and INR were elevated. Ryan was treated with four types of antibiotics and other medications. Ryan had an MRI head exam and eye exam performed at 8 and 9 days after admission. Ryan s MRI showed intracranial bleeding and his eye exam revealed retinal bleeding. They accused Ryan s father for his injuries by shaking him vigorously (Shaken Baby Syndrome) (Strokes, 2014). The court believed that the infection with Streptococcus pneumonia caused Ryan s illness and led to the development of hemorrhagic pneumonia, hemolytic uremic syndrome, kidney and liver problems, hepatic encephalopathy, seizure, coma, and cardiac arrest. They likely causes of Ryan s intracranial and retinal bleeding are liver damage, infections, vitamin K deficiency and severe anemia. The Hepatitis B vaccine increased ... Technology Is A Helpful Tool For Teaching The Writing Process Technology is a helpful tool for teaching the writing process, and Marchisan and Alber (2001) concluded that writers can be taught to write using the writing process approach paired with tools of technology, direct instruction, and committed well trained teachers. Graham, (2008), Graham and Perin (2007a), and Rogers and Graham, (2008), agreed that technology makes the process of writing easier and often provides very specific types of support. Word processing provides at least four advantages: (a) revisions are easily made, (b) publishing is professional looking, (c) typing provides an easier means for children with fine motor skill challenges to produce text, and (d) word processing programs have software programs, such as spell and stylistic checkers designed to reduce specific types of miscues. Other tools are speech synthesis (i.e., the writer s spoken words are transcribed to electronic text) and word prediction programs (i.e., the computer program reduces the key strokes by predicting the writer s next word). This is helpful for students with difficulties with spelling and the mechanics of writing. In addition, outlining and semantic mapping software can aide with the planning process, and the use of computer networks and the Internet can help to promote communication and collaboration among writers. Students prefer technology based assignments and are found to use more words and an expanded vocabulary when expressing themselves in blog posts (Berezina, 2011; ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Voltaire writes He could prove that there is no effect without a cause; and, that in this best of all possible worlds, the Baron s castle was the most magnificent of all castles, and My Lady the best of all possible baronesses. • 17. S. N. 1 Lab Report As discussed in lecture, the determining factors of a substitution reaction is likely to occur in either S_N 1 or S_N 2 by: substrates, leaving group, strength of the nucleophile, and the type of solvent. When conducting the S_N 1 portion of the experiment, the solvent used was 1% silver nitrate in ethanol solution (〖AgNO〗_3). This solvent is polar protic. This is the best type of solvent needed for an S_N 1 reaction because the hydrogen atom is positively charged while the nucleophile is negatively charged achieving a hydrogen bond. Two factors that contributed to the rate of reaction for S_N 1 are stability of the carbocation and the leaving group departure. The more stable the carbocation, the faster the reaction generates and the better the leaving group, it creates a carbocation faster, which in turn leads to a ... The following six of the nine alkyl halides produced precipitates at room temperature: 2 bromobutane, t butyl chloride, crotyl chloride, bromocyclohexane, bromocyclopentane, and benzyl chloride. All of these alkyl halides reacted in room temperature because they were either secondary or tertiary carbons except for crotyl chloride. These types of structures (tertiary) are favored in the case of S_N 1 while secondary can undergo either S_N 1 or S_N 2. The only primary carbon that reacted quickly was crotyl chloride because it is an allylic substrate, which can undergo S_N 1. On the other hand the three remaining alkyl halides did not react at room temperature: 1 chlorobutane, 2 chlorobutane, and bromobenzene. These three alkyl halides were then heated at 80℃. 1 chlorobutane s alpha carbon is primary, so heat is needed in order to create more collision resulting in a reaction. 2 chlorobutane and 2 bromobutane have similar structures, but the latter reacted in room temperature because Br is a better leaving group than Cl. The movie encompasses the themes that Shelley set out to exhibit in her own novel in a mirror like fashion except for the reason it is being portrayed on the big screen rather than on paper. In addition to the messages being displayed in the film and novel being alike, the storylines were almost identical. These movements are a powerful force for change, and raise important questions among anthropologists about how culture, community and conflict have changed in response to globalisation. In this essay, I argue that while the nature of globalisation has changed over the years, it has consistently been a driver of internal conflict and societal change. Two case studies are utilised, from India and Peru, to demonstrate how globalisation introduces new ideas and opportunities that challenge existing power structures, identities, values and cultural norms. This, in turn, leads to my final argument that in the process of trying to prevent change, many leaders actually deepens existing social fractures which ultimately results in conflict and inevitable social, political, economic and cultural transformation. Throughout human history there has been a continuous tradition of trade and investment across territories and cultures. European imperialism represents a significant early example of globalisation, and the process has increased exponentially in the centuries since. There would be agricultural competition between food crops and energy crops for resources such as land and water. Agricultural expansion due to increased prices of foods would place further stress on water supplies due to increased irrigation. Population growth, climate change, and natural disasters also place additional stress on water supplies, but these factors are already at play and natural disasters may be unpredictable (Koh and Ghazoul, 2008). • 31. Spirituality And Religiosity While consensus among researchers on the definition of spirituality and religiosity is lacking, what it means to be spiritual or religious and what constitutes a spiritual person in the literature is still very highly researched (Stranahan, 2008). Many definitions of religiosity and spirituality include religious service attendance, some sort of meaning and purpose in life, personal strength to cope with difficulties, and believing in a higher being (Stranahan, 2008). Older adults tend to have stronger faith and greater spirituality than younger populations (Moberg, 2005). This difference in spirituality between younger populations and older adults is possibly tied to the deepening of spiritual interests and concern during the later years (Moberg, 2005, p. 15). Older adults tend to become more religious, or turn to religion more as they age, instead of maintaining a high level of religiosity throughout their lives (Moberg, 2005). Spirituality and religiosity are very important to the aging process due to the connection observed in many studies between spiritual health and physical and mental health and well being, with religion having protective health effects.
