The Bible is not the basis of missions; missions are the basis of the Bible. God s desire for a
relationship not just with a man and a woman named Adam and Eve and other people specifically
mentioned but with every member of the human race. The loving relationship that 21st century
believers say they have with Godshould be a powerful motivation for them to do global mission so
that His desire for a relationship with all peoples can become a reality. God s election of Abraham
and Israel concerns the whole world pg24. He deals so intensely with Israel precisely because He
is maintaining His personal claim on the whole world. To speak to this world in the fullness of
time, He needed a people (Johannes Verkuyl pg. 24). Following their escape... Show more content

Contextualization affects the way theology is expressed. During the 19th and 20th centuries the
theological center of Protestantism seemed to be in North America and Europe, with Germany
being the nexus or center for theological scholarship. However, the issues German theologians talk
about are not always the issues being wrestled with in other parts of the world. In this regard
Korean Bong Bin Rho has written: Western evangelical theology the shift of Christianitys numerical
center of gravity southward and away from Euro America has unleashed what Harvey Cox called a
tidal wave of religious change. 19 One change has to do with control. For the last few centuries,
Westerners have dominated the Church s theological thinking, strategic planning, and missionary
sending in ways that made believers in the West start thinking of them as the mother church. Now
that Westerners are a minority in the global church, some are worried that leaders from other parts
of the world will make changes in the beliefs and practices of their beloved churches and

The Symbiotic Relationship Of The Hypothalamus Interaction...
As the control center of the endocrine system, the hypothalamus interacts with the body in a unique
way. It has a symbiotic relationship with the pituitary gland, which stimulates the release of
hormones to different parts of the body. Located inferior to the hypothalamus, the pituitary gland
lies within a cavity of the sphenoid bone known as the sella turcica. The hypothalamus
communicates with the pituitary glandthrough two separate lobes: one leading to the anterior
pituitary and another leading to the posterior pituitary. The connection of these two lobes through
the infundibulum forms the bridge between the nervous and endocrine systems. The lobe that
connects the hypothalamus to the anterior pituitary is called the hypophyseal portal

Mr. Nuttle s The Open Window
George Carlin once said Tell people there s an invisible man in the sky who created the universe,
and the vast majority will believe you. Tell them the paint is wet, and they have to touch it to be
sure. Some people don t believe anything unless they see or feel it. But other people believe in faith.
In this story Mr. Nuttle trusted to easily he should have thought before he believe the 15 year old.
The Open Window is a must read tale that teaches a valuable life lesson through conflict that hold
true even for today s teenager, do not believe everything you are told.

For example me and my boyfriend have been looking at houses to move in for a while now. We
found this one we really liked the outside looked great to start fresh. We wanted to see on the
inside so we made a time to go in. Right before we went in, the owner told us how great shape
the house was well when we got into the house it smelled bad the walls was yellow there was
stains in the carpet and rat crap everywhere it was just so nasty half of the doors didn t open
easily. That for 500 a month is a no it wasn t in no good shape. So the owner telling us it was
really good shape inside and it wasn t he lied so there s a good example to not believe everything
someone tells you. Another example is my grandparent got me a car and the people they got it
was running good, a great car and nothing was wrong with it, but that was a lie cause It broke
down within a year and in that year and I had to put work in it a lot. Had to get new tires there
was something dripping from the bottom and we could never figure out what was wrong with.
But there was another example of how to not believe everything someone tells you. They could
just be telling you all this good stuff to get it off their hands so they ain t got to worry about it

Bipolar Research Paper
Which of my feelings are real? Which of the me s is me? The wild, impulsive, chaotic, energetic,
and crazy one? Or the shy, withdrawn, desperate, suicidal, doomed, and tired one? Probably a bit of
both, hopefully much that is neither. ― Kay Redfield Jamison Bipolar disorder, also known as
manic depressive disorder, is defined as a brain disorder that causes unusual shifts in mood,
energy, activity levels, and the ability to carry out day to day tasks (1). According to the
Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance, this disorder affects approximately 5.7 million people
age 18 and older in the United States annually (2). There are a few different categories of this

John I. Nurnberger Jr., M.D., Ph.D., and Professor of Psychiatry and Director of the Institute of

in Indianapolis (4). Recent research has found the heritability of bipolar disorder to be
approximately 85% (5). This means that 85% of the variation of this disorder is due to genetic
factors. Due to its strong heritability, there has been extensive research on the genetic influences
behind bipolar disorder. Consequently, the environmental factors that also may contribute to the
development of bipolar disorder have far less been a topic of investigation. The majority of the
research focused on the environmental factors of bipolar disorder explores the possibility of
childhood trauma playing a role. Etain, et al., 2008 describes this possibility as being the most
promising for further research. One study reported that 50% of those who suffer from bipolar

Correlation Between Tattoos and Risky Behavior Essay example
This study will examine the correlation between deviance and tattoos. We hypothesize that there
will be a correlation between the amount of tattoos one has and their participation in risky
activities. We also hypothesis that people with tattoos, are more likely to engage in sexual
activities with multiple partners. The next hypothesis will be that tattooed individuals are more
likely to engage in drugs and alcohol usage. An online survey created by the authors will be used
to score the participant s involvement in risky activities. The question to be addressed is whether
or not tattoos have an effect on ones participation in risky activities. The participants will be given
a revised version of the Wisconsin Youth Risk Behavior Survey to

Tattooed individuals also score higher in the sexual activity category of the Revised Wisconsin
Youth Risk Behavior Survey. This supports our hypothesis that people with tattoos, are more likely
to engage in sexual activities with multiple partners. The results from alcohol and drug usage
indicate there is no significant difference between tattooed and non tattooed individuals pertaining
to drugs or alcohol. Getting Inked: A look into deviance and tattoos
Tattooing has become a mainstream event; about one in five adults in the United States have at
least one tattoo (Stanglin, 2012). In the United States, tattoos were once seen as a symbol of
rebellion. They were mostly seen on bikers or people who were consider tough. These
stereotypes brought about the assumption that people with tattoos are deviant and are more
willing to engage in risky behavior and commit crimes. This negative perception of tattooed
individuals is what brings us to look deeper into the actions and minds of those who get inked .
Our purpose is to examine whether or not people who get tattoos are more likely to engage in
risky activity. In our study, risky activities was defined as actions of a person who is more willing
to step outside of society s boundaries and participate in more impulsive, sensation seeking,
adventurous and sexual activities (Wohlrab, Fink, Kappeler, Brewer, 2009). In our study we will

My Life In Thailand
I experienced many different cultures, ethnicities and traditions when my family lived in
Thailand. We lived in a Refugee camp and it was not like an America society. Every month, a
volunteer group from a big city would aid every family in the refugee camp with bags of rice
depending on how many people are in your family. There were about ten schools in the campwhich
were public schools and Catholic schools. Schools and houses were built out of bamboo and
trees, and the buildings don t last more than a decade. Life was not easy in Thailand. Not every
parent had a job and they found other ways to make money to provide for their families. There
were many cultures and different ethnicities living in the same area and our neighbors spoke
different languages and they were from different ethnic groups. There are many holidays and
cultural traditions that we celebrate every year by dancing, playing music, and having big
festivals. The majority of families in the camp had chickens, pigs, or other useful animals that help
with everyday life. We had a garden in our backyard with fruits, vegetables, and other types of
eatable plants. There were banana trees, mangos, jackfruits, peppers, papaya, sugar cane and star
fruittrees. Our houses were built with bamboo and the rooftops were covered with hay. A lot of
houses were on hills because the camp was not a flat place. We had no electricity or water lines
connected to our home. Houses were built high above the ground in case of

Why Cursive Writing Should Be Taught In Schools
While some argue, cursive writing belongs in the archives and common core ushers it out of
schools, the evidence shows we need it as much as ever. says Jennifer Doverspike. Some people
may question why it is still necessary for cursive to be taught in our schools. Especially when we
are no longer in the 21st century. Where we have now entered the new age where technology is
constantly on the rise, and tablets and iPhones have taken over. This drastic change has allowed our
children and adults to take the easier route. Although the electronic world has taken over and has
added new elements to the writingworld. Researchers have found a strong connection between
writing by hand, the mind, language skills, memory and artificial thinking.
So why cursive still needed in our education system? This seems to be a alarming question the
education policy makers are facing with technology on the rise. A place where the curls and the
beautiful long handed writing seems to be outdated. In this short essay I will explain the benefits of
why cursive should remain in our school system.

However, I feel that cursive should be put back into common core and left there. How else can we
connect to the past? Cursive writing allows us to connect to the past whether its history or reading
our grandparents letters. If you cannot write cursive how do you except to understand it. A lot of
historical documents like the Declaration of Independence, Bill of Rights and many others are all
originally written in cursive. Seems as if today youth will only be able to read the transcripts of
these documents. I m not okay with that and neither should our education

Steroid Aromatization
A little bit about steroids: aromatizing and not only
A little bit about steroids: aromatizing and not only.Prolonged use of steroids can lead to increased
levels of estradiol in the blood and as a consequence of it to aromatization. I note here that this
property have only the so called aromatizable steroids. Testosterone is considered to have the
biggest incline to this process, of course. The second place occupies such a steroid as
methandrostenolone. Boldenone and flyuksimetreon have more weak property of
aromatization. There are steroids that can be converted to estradiol without the process of
aromatization, these include nandrolone, norethandrolone and ethylestrenol. However, it makes no
significant relief, and the level of estrogen ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

following. Is it possible that the level of estrodiol in the blood of a men will rise even with a
short term use of steroid drugs? No it is not possible. As with any side effect, this defect requires
prolonged use or overdose. And the last thing I would like to discuss each person has an individual
reaction to the estrogens in the blood because we are all different as banal as it may sound, some
people even have immunity to the process of aromatization, and some on the contrary may be
particularly inclined to this problem.Restoring the natural balance.Lets finish with the theory and
go back to what we actually started with and what I wanted to tell you about, that is to anti
estrogens. It is a mistake to assume that anti estrogen is a drug created specifically for men, as if it
was created to suppress the development of the feminine in men. The situation is quite opposite,
originally anti estrogens were created for women who had problems with an excess of estrogen in
their bodies. For example, particularly large

The Pros And Cons Of Artificial Intelligence
Although there are many threats and worries with Artificial Intelligence there are also many
benefits that can outweigh the negatives. Our society is already experiencing this technology in
vehicles that have auto sensing and braking capabilities. Another really intriguing feature of AI
would be faster and more accurate web searches. I believe being able to provide information
instantly will further improve lives and the business world, since time is money. Today we call
artificial intelligence narrow artificial intelligence which means artificial intelligence that is
weak. Google is an example of narrow artificial intelligence that we use every day. Other
examples of narrow artificial intelligence include ATMs and touchless car washes, they are
designed to execute a set of tasks. Whereas AI can learn set tasks and create new tasks based on
its intuition and ability to think and problem solve for itself. What s in store for Artificial
intelligence within the next 5 years (believe me a lot can happen with technology in 5 years)? 3 D
printers, IOT (internet of things), virtual reality (VR), and artificial intelligence (AI) are taking the
spotlight light currently. These technologies will exponentially improve and become more
commonplace in the business world then expand into the consumer market once businesses have
improved their capabilities as a pioneer in the technologies. One can expect 3 D printers to be able
to print everything from cars/trucks to tissue cells for

A management style is an overall method of leadership used by a manager. There are two main
management styles: Autocratic (leader makes all decisions unilaterally) and Permissive (leader
permits subordinates to take part in decision making and also gives them a considerable degree of
autonomy in completing routine work activities). Combining both categories with democratic and
directive styles give four distinct ways to manage:
Directive Democrat: Makes decisions participative; closely supervises subordinates.
Directive Autocrat: Makes decisions unilaterally; closely supervises subordinates.
Permissive Democrat: Makes decisions participative; gives subordinates latitude in carrying out
their work.
Permissive Autocrat: Makes decisions unilaterally; gives subordinates latitude in carrying out their
work. Managers must also adjust their styles according to the situation that they are presented with.
Additionally, there are four quadrants of situational leadership that depend on the amount of
support and guidance needed: telling, delegating, participating and selling. Different styles depend
on the situation and the relationship behaviour and task behaviour. What s more, skills in

Inequality In Afghanistan
This film was powerful. Illustrating many aspects of gender inequality in Afghanistan, this film

drastic of devices they have to resort to in order to live a life worth living. It was truly moving.
This film certainly changed my perception of what it is like to live in Afghanistanas a women. This
film changed this perception in two way. The first of which is that this film exposed me to the
rigor at which oppression is enforced particularly by the Taliban. I have always thought of the

Eden Robinson Belonging
A Journey to Acceptance:
A Comparative Analysis of Eden Robinson s Traplines and Joseph Boyden s The OrendaHumans
tend to have the instinctive desire to belong and be a significant member of something greater than
themselves. This sense of belonging is usually provided by family; but what happens when this
vital component of an individual s development is flawed? The main characters in Traplines by
Eden Robinson and The Orenda by Joseph Boyden suffer from this exact predicament. Not only do
Will and Snow Falls lack a stable family structure, but the feeling of becoming increasingly
restrained within themselves takes a toll on their perception of authentic identity. Even though
these characters come across multiple adversities, they ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In Traplines, the most distinct form of Will s confinement lies in his routine lifestyle that
involves abuse and addiction. An example of this is shown when the text states, On Christmas
Eve ... Mom and Dad will go to a lot of parties and get really drunk. Eric will go to a lot of parties
and get really stoned. Maybe this year I will too (Robinson 458). The certainty behind his
prediction suggests that he has been trapped in a life of such conduct for a prolonged period of
time and that he might as well concede to the destructive path it provides. If the story is viewed
through a lens in which Will is of Native descent, the feeling of being restricted within one s self
does not only have an impact of his sense of self identity, but on other people s perception of him
as well. The text states, When he [Mr. Smythe] reached over, I put my hands up and covered my
face. He stopped, then took the phone out of my hands. It s okay, he said. I won t hurt you. It s
okay (Robinson 461), which illustrates how his constraint to an abusive atmosphere is able to strain
his relationships with those that he trusts. Will also finds himself to be confined in his inability to
speak up for himself, as displayed through his altercations with Eric and when Mr. Smythe
incorrectly assumes that more than one member of his family contributes to his abuse. Although
these are two different circumstances, Will s inaction to both is most likely out of fear for what
could result from retaliation. As for The Orenda, it is evident that Snow Falls often feels trapped
within the past, most of which encompasses traumatic experiences. Even in her death, her deceased
family is the first thing that comes to her mind, as presented when the text states, I remember my
mother now, my brother, drumming their legs into the other world

Charter School Advantages
The Advantage of Charter Schools
A charter school is an openly funded, self sufficient school, entrenched by teachers, parents, or
community groups under the terms of a charter or with provincial or domestic jurisdiction. Charter
schools were established over twenty years ago. They have expanded rapidly during the last
decade. (Barbour, 2013) The US Department of Education has contributed grants to support charter
school efforts. Charter schools should be considered by every parent before enrolling a student in
school due to their advanced curriculum program, smaller student population, and organizational
establishment.
Many students have enhanced from the intemperate curriculum that charter schools provide.
Teachers and administrators can engage in their own teaching mechanism. Teachers at charter
schools have the capability to establish teaching methods that generate an improved understanding
for students. Teachers are also allowed to utilize an individual based method if need be versus the
public s school strict teaching guidelines. Public or traditional schools adhere to a strict
curriculum for lessons and academic content taught in a school that s designated for a specific
course or program. It was a totally different atmosphere upon transferring my son from a charter
school to a public school. The difference in the two schools were unquestionably self evident. The
charter school provided a wide variety of foundational elements. Upon transferring to a public

Most Important Commandments In America
There are many commandments in America. Most of them are very important and should be
followed. There is many more that should be added . The commandments can prevent a lot of
things. They can also earn you some respect . I think more should be added. One commandment
is that you should always speak when you walk into a room .It is considered rude if you walk
into a room full of people and don t speak to them . You wouldn t like it if you were sitting in a
room and somebody walked in and don t acknowledge your presence . That s why the polite thing
to do is speak. That earns you more respect from others. The second most important commandment

If you want respect, you first have to give it. You can t treat people any type of way and expect
to be treated like royalty. People treat you as you treat them on a daily basis .So if you want to
be respected , you have to remain respectful at all times. The fourth commandment is do not
steal. Stealing is always wrong no matter what way you try to put it as. Stealing is not only illegal,
it s also a good way to lose trust in people. You wouldn t like it if somebody stole from you so don t
steal from them. Stealing from people loses trust and respect so you should not steal from
anybody at all. The fifth commandment is if somebody sneezes , be courteous and say bless you.
People usually sneeze and expect to be told bless you afterwards. It is polite to say bless you after
somebody sneezes. Most people feel as if you care enough to say it once you say bless you to them
. If you sneeze, you most likely would want somebody to say bless you to you. Some people don
t really mind whether someone says it or not and some people do mind . Therefore , you should
always say it just to be polite . There is nothing wrong with being

United States Judicial System
The Judicial system in the United States is a system that provides Courts with the power and
authority to administer justice, though that justice must be within the bounds of the law. As some
laws in the U.S. tend to be ambiguous, or lacking in specific direction as applied to a particular
case, the Court system is also responsible for interpreting the laws, and ensuring they are applied
correctly on both the state and federal levels.
While the Judicial system is not authorized by the U.S. Constitution to make laws, it applies the
facts of each case to the existing laws in order to reach a decision that ensures justice is served. In
some cases, the Court is required to make a decision about how a law should be applied to the
particular circumstances

Effects Of Deforestation On The Amazon Rain Forest
A study by Mongbay shows a loss since 1978 until today of about 79% of forest deforestation.
Decades ago when humans first occupied the earth and began to use fire; deforestation slow began.
History has changed and so has technology and methods. The axe has evolved into a chainsaw
which accelerates the process of deforestation. Chopping down trees has been the human quest for
shelter, food, and warmth. Trees provide humans with wood for shelter. Wood also provides fire
for fuel to keep us warm at night. Lastly trees provide us with human food such as roots, nuts, and
branches for burning. Humans have used an axe and required endless energy to chop a tree down.

In fact if more trees are cut down, habitat of animals could be destroyed and we could end up with
extinct species as mention before. Not only does this affect the Amazon alone, but it affects the
whole southern part of America. With the reduction of trees the capacity to absorb carbon, modified
water cycles, and soil, deforestation and climate change could cause the Amazon to be replaced with
savannah like vegetation. With a big alternation to the ecosystem like the savannah could distress
Brazil. If the ecosystem is distress this can cause changes in temperature, and rainfall is the increase
like hood with extreme weather events. These events are usually caused by the climate change and
regional deforestation. Events such as droughts and floods are part of the natural rain forest climate
change, but alternation to the climate change can bring severe weather change. This can hold a
negative impact on suburban areas with transportation, agriculture, and businesses going out of
business due to extreme weather events. The climate change is not only important but it can cause
a distress to the Amazon rain forest that deforestation is not an option to continue. The carbon cycle
plays an important role in the human environment. Carbon alone is very lethal, but when it s mixed
with oxygen we can form co2. The air is mixed with carbon and oxygen which humans are able to

Miss Brill: An Insignificant Soul
Every Sunday, Miss Brill looked forward to a wonderful day in the park. There, she would
secretly dive into the lives of the surrounding human beings, taking in each of their words and
actions and creating a fantasy world all of her own that she was sure she belonged in, but she
was mistaken. Her fantasy world does crumble, and Miss Brill, the protagonist in the short story,
Miss Brill by Katherine Mansfield, soon finds herself in reality. Miss Brill can be clearly seen as a

The reason why Miss Brill lives her life through others is because she is scared to take risks. Why

Prop 227 Points of Contention Essay
What are the main points of contention surrounding this issue? Be sure to thoroughly discuss
contrasting perspectives and the underlying reasons explaining the different positions people take
on this topic.
The main arguments surrounding Prop 227, is whether or not bilingual programs should be in
schools in California. Some argue that having bilingual programs doesn t help the student to learn
English, it just reinforces their native language. Also it has be said that test scores supposedly did
not improve in the bilingual programs. On the other hand though, people are arguing that the
English Immersion programs do not work because for smaller children they must learn how to read
and write in their native language to be able to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The problem with both bilingual education and English as a second language instruction in the
United States lies in our unwillingness to treat English for non speakers as an academic subject
(Haas, 2007). While the bilingual programs in California are thought to be mostly for people who
speak Spanish, there are also Asian students that need to be taught proper English before continuing
their education. As one anonymous teacher points out: I have had 32 different languages spoken in
my classroom over a 25 year period. Eighty four languages are spoken in our district. (Anon 1998
Haas 2007). Which for most teachers mean that it is both educationally and economically
impossible to teach every student in their own native language.
In contrast, the people against Prop 227, state that the Prop creates too much chaos and does not
support every learner. Adaptations and modifications are not allowed for non native English
speakers (i.e. all public school instruction will be conducted in English) (Linton, 2007). The change
from bilingual education to English Immersion was of great confusion for both students and
parents, due to the sudden change in consistency between districts, school, and teachers. Prop 227
threatened teachers and administration with legal penalties if they tried to teach or a help a student
in a foreign language. Some that are opposed to Prop 227,

Argumentative Essay On Single Sex Schools
Single sex education has been becoming more popular in recent years. In 2002, the No Child Left
Behind Act was passed. This was a major turning point in the advancement of single sex schools
because it loosened government restrictions. Since 2002, about 95 single sex public schools have
been established (Novotney). Historically, single gendereducationhas been more prevalent in other
countries, such as New Zealand, Belgium, and the United Kingdom, than it is in the United States.
One reason that the United States has had far fewer single gender schools is because of the laws
concerning education that the states all follow. Also, single sex schools were not able to be
financially funded. This made it difficult for the United States to establish and continuously run
many single sex schools, especially government funded single sex public schools (Bigler and
Signorella 659). With the advancement of the number of single sex schools, questions and
controversies have arisen. Parents began questioning what type of education best suited their child.
Should parents send their children to coeducational institutions, or single gender institutions? In
which environment will students most succeed? While data has come up inconclusive in this
regard, it is still important for certain values to be taught in schools. Parents want their children to
succeed in their social skills, be tr. Coeducational schools are the best option for students to be
successful in school and in their future.

The Justification Of The Nsa Unlawful Spying Activities
The justifications provided for the leakage of the NSA unlawful spying activities also support the
argument that Snowman s act was permissible. For instance, Snowden justifies his act by stating
that he relied on the U.S Constitution, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights as well as the
1945 Nuremberg declaration. He provides his explanation for his shift from the his earlier held
philosophy of nationalism by noting that people have an international duty that surpasses their
national obligations of loyalty, (Scheuerman, 2014). He further expounds that sometimes national
loyalty leads to national relativism whereby people overlook their country s evils, instead
preferring to focus on distant and external evils.
Generally, intelligence systems are extensively concealed, which exposes them to potential abuse
by those in charge. This results in abuse of human rights such as privacy rights that is detrimental to
the very security that such systems ought to safeguard. As such, blowing the whistle on such
activities can be an effective mechanism of exposing the ills that characterize intelligence systems.
Furthermore, Scheurman (2014) argues that a requirement for whistleblower identity disclosure as
proposed in Sagar s framework enhances their opportunity to fulfill their obligations to justify their
actions. They further state that whistleblower identity disclosure demonstrates civic mindedness. In
addition, the disclosure of the whistle blower s identity helps to prevent

William Paley s Argument From Design
Argument from Design In the Argument from Design article by William Paley, he begins the
argument by describing the mechanisms of a watch. These parts all combine in a certain way to
make the watch work, or even exist. If these parts were not combined in the exact order, the watch
would not do anything profound. Paley further describes how an observer could conceive the watch
in the mind. He would then reflect, in some sense, how the watch was made independently. It was
not brought into existence by other watches, but only by a creator combining different items
together. There is the idea of metallic nature, but assuming a law also assumes a lawgiver.
Therefore, there must be some sort of creator of the watch, even though the creator is unknown.
This same concept could be applied to the universe, stating that there must be a creator that made
these elaborate... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Even if people were unaware of the person who made the watch, ignorance is not an excuse for
not giving credit to the artist. An objection to his argument is that some of the parts seem to have
no function, so they were not designed. Paley states there may be a function of these parts that
we are unable to see or understand. The design is evident from examining the rest of the watch.
The machine does not have to be perfect in order to understand the artist s design of the
mechanism. For example, a blueprint of a machine can show you the idea and purpose of the final
results, even though all the parts on the blueprint are not specifically described on why it exists.
The design could not be a fault of chance due to its complexity. The observer of the watch cannot
be driven out of his conclusion, even though he may know

Importance Of Reading Comprehension
There has been much research conducted in recent years by educators on early childhood language
development. In the article The Importance of Discussing 50 Cent Words with Preschoolers , the
author, Molly F. Collins, illustrates how to implement the use of sophisticated vocabulary within
the classroom in order to enhance children s vocabulary and promote curiosity with respect to
words. She believes that this robust knowledge of words will ultimately improve their reading and
comprehension, along with their overall learning in later years. Research shows that preschoolers
who are exposed to sophisticated languageand hear ample explanations of complex words, acquire
a larger vocabulary than those who are not. (Collins, 2010, p. 15). In the article, it is evident that
rare words expand the vocabulary knowledge of children, prompt them to ask questions and
accelerates the development of their reading comprehensionskills. (Dickinson et al. 2003, p. 15).
Discussions in the classroom produce opportunities for teachers to clarify the meanings of the
words, repair misunderstandings of new words, as well as extend the children s knowledge of
them. (Collins, 2012, p. 16). By using sophisticated words children become aware of the possibility
that they can misinterpret a word, which is important because it prompts them to check their
understandingof the words they use. (Collins, 2012, p. 18). Children also begin to realize that
certain words can have multiple meanings and thus can be used in different contexts. Exposure to
sophisticated vocabulary can be developed in different settings such as small group play, mealtime
or during story time. Children gain knowledge of the words used from other children and the
teacher, and also compare their own understanding to new information that other children or the
teacher provides. (Collins, 2012, p. 20). Research has shown that the use of complex words during
play by the teacher contributes to children s reading comprehension in the fourth grade. (Dickinson
and Porche, 2011, p. 15). Hence, exposing children to sophisticated words at an early age provides
them with a richer vocabulary, improved reading comprehension and stronger literacy development.

the army, fights with Achilles, yelling I m coming to your hut and taking Briseis, / Your own
beautiful prize, so that you will see just how much / Stronger I am than you (Il. 1.194 196).
Agamemnon abuses his power as the most powerful king in Greece over a matter of pride and
uses it against one of the greatest warriors in the army, which makes Agamemnon lose respect of
his men. Not one man asks Briseis if she will accept this change as all the men view her as an
object for being Achilles geras. How Briseis feels about being passed about is made very clear
when the heralds went to her And brought Briseis, cheeks flushed, out of the tent / And gave her to
the heralds, who led her away. / She went unwillingly (Il. 1.359 361). Forcing Achilles to give up
Briseis also means that Agamemnon takes Achilles honor which he seeks retribution for in a public
declaration that When every last Greek

The Pros And Cons Of Slavery In British New York
Slavery in New York under the English rule, compared to the Dutch, was different in the way that
slaves were tolerated, treated and had the ability to be free. The Dutch had a fairer attitude and
were open to helping the slaves find their freedom. On the other hand, when the English took over
New York, their guidelines for the slaves dehumanized them and put legal restrictions around them.
Under the British rule, slaves were treated harshly and weren t allowed to integrate with the other
colonists, compared to the Dutch who were more tolerant and allowed the slaves to have some
legal rights.
The British came up with many laws that restricted and oppressed the slaves for their benefit,
some of these laws included, that slaves couldn t own land, couldn t leave their masters houses,
and couldn t gather in a group of more than 3, and if they did, they would be abused, killed or
have their limbs cut off. However, the most important law that essentially ended freeing enslaved
people was this, no enslaved person could be freed without the master paying a ВЈ200 bond and
promising to pay the enslaved person ВЈ20 a year for life, (UNIT THREE: NEW YORK Resource
21: Laws Affecting Black Colonials in British New York). This basically assured that the slave s
freedom was determined by the master, which practically made it impossible. According to,
Looking at Slavery in New York, Table 3, New York under the English was the third largest
slaveholding colony, containing 16% of all the

Starters vs Relievers Essay
Starting Pitchers vs. Relief Pitchers There are many differences and similarities between relief
pitchers and starting pitchers. There are many different types of relief pitchers that each team has
in its bullpen. While starting pitcher each team usually has about 5 starters that rotate through each
game, which leaves the rest of the game up to the relief pitchers once the starter can no longer go.
People do not normally realize that saying a person is a pitcheris quite a general statement. For
example starting pitchers is defined as the pitcher who delivers the first pitch of the game to the
first batter. Even if that pitcher gets hurt on that pitch he is still the starter. Normally starting
pitchers are supposed to go the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Once a runner reaches the goal switches to a no hitter if they got on an error or walk. If they got
on with a hit the goal is to get a shutout, which is when the opposing team scores no runs. Also if
the starting pitcher goes all the innings in the game whether it is seven or nine they are rewarded
with the complete game. Normally when a pitcher reaches any of their goals they achieve a win.
Starting pitchers normally have at a minimum three effective pitches. They need pitches to get
ahead in the count on the batter and then a strike out pitch. A strike out pitch is a pitch with a lot
of break or movement and is hard for the batter to pick up and normally ends with freezing the
batter or a swing and miss. A relief pitcheror commonly called a reliever is a pitcher that comes in
at any time during the game after the first pitch of the game is thrown. The starter can be
removed for multiple reasons such as; injury, ineffectiveness, fatigue, ejection, or depending on
the batter. There are many types of relief pitchers for example closers, set up pitchers, middle
relief, left handed specialist, long relievers and mop up relief. Many relief pitchers were starters
in the primes of their careers but can no longer endure the stress given with being a starter. This is
because as a relief there is more time for rest between outings and the pitcher doesn t throw as many
pitches in one outing.

The Teachings of Intertwined Texts
Intertextuality and Frankenstein
Mary Shelley s Frankenstein is a work of radical intertextuality, as its very title Frankenstein: or,
the modern Prometheus indicates. No other novel of the period is so imbued with the voices of
contemporary poets: in her pages Mary Shelley quotes directly from Byron, Coleridge,
Wordsworth, and Percy Bysshe Shelley. Moreover, the Creature learns language and cultural forms
from four major texts: Plutarch s Lives, Milton s Paradise Lost , Goethe s Sorrows of Young
Werther, and Volney s Ruins of Empire that, for better or worse, shape his destiny. Thus, it becomes
an exemplary text for scholarly inquiry. Even prior to opening the book, Mary Shelley incorporates
intertextuality. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It includes letters from Werther to his friend Winhelm, about the series of events regarding his love
triangle and the roller coaster of emotions it causes. Werther decides he would rather die than
remain miserable, so he commits suicide. As the creature reads this novel, he begins to develop a
sense of humanity and emotions as he starts to relate to others. Werther makes the creature question
his role in society, and makes him begin to comprehend depression and despair. Many deaths occur
throughout the story, including Werther s suicide. All the deaths were due to the loss of
companionship, which amplifies the role of nature in Frankenstein and reiterates the importance of
relationships. This story calls to question the possibility of the creature taking his own life.
As I read, however, I applied much personally to my own feelings and condition. I found myself
similar, yet at the same time strangely unlike to the beings concerning whom I read, and to whose
conversation I was a listener. I sympathized with, and partly understood them, but I was unformed
in mind; I was dependent on none and related to none. The path of my departure was free ; and
there was none to lament my annihilation... What did this mean? Who was I? What was I? Whence
did I come? What was my destination? These questions continually recurred, but I was unable to
solve them. (Shelley

Football Concussions
Concussions in football have become more and more common even though the equipment has
apparently gotten safer. In retrospect it seems the equipment has made concussions more
prominent. Does this mean the sport of football altogether is unsafe or that the players are simply
just not playing the game correctly? Is this the person running the ball fault or the defensive players
fault or both? Over the years that football has progressed with safety, the physical demand of the
sport has also increased. Players went from being roughly only 5 11 on average to 6 2. Their
weight as well has increased. Along with these size increases their strength and speed has increased
as well. With all these changes and the demand becoming greater the equipment had to change as
well. In particular helmets had to change.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This falls mainly on the defensive player, the player that is delivering the hit. When playing
football everything happens in a flash. You have only a few seconds to react to everything
going on. The defensive of player goal is to prevent the other team from scoring at all means
possible. If they can t break up a pass before a receiver grabs the ball the only other option is
delivering a blow to the receiver to stop him from gaining more yards. In the result of this he
may launch himself at the receiver and make contact in the upper head area. In football this
would be considered a defenseless receiver depending on the case but it is still hard when
playing at full speed to determine this. This also takes away from the physical aspect of the
game having to think where and how hard you can hit someone when running 16 20 miles per
hour and weigh 200 or more pounds. Some players jump off the ground with over a thousand
pounds of force meaning if they jump off the ground into another player it will cause some serious
pain. This is just player playing and it s kind of

Integrating Change Models and the Theology of Leadership...
Integrating Change Models and the Theology of Leadership A sentiment common to almost any
organization is that the one fact that remains constant is change. As society changes, and human
understanding grows, any organization that maintains a static posture, assures its demise. Churches
and Christian organizations are no exception. The gospel may remain the same, but the method for
communicating it must speak to the audience to assure understanding. The Christian leader must be
prepared to meet this challenge by incorporating an effective model for change into his theology of
leadershipin order to keep the ministry relevant and effective. Searching for such a change agent
can prove to be challenging as well. To aid in this search, four... Show more content on

The Breakthrough Innovation Framework, or BrinnovationTM, incorporates Kotter s Leading
Change model, while emphasizing a framework of innovation (Gupta, 2011). The Brinnovation
framework accentuates the abilities and talents of those in the system, with its success depending
on a change in the organization s culture to embrace innovation (Gupta, 2011). The leadership can
achieve a transformation in organizational thinking by applying Kotter s eight step plan, focusing
on creativity (Gupta, 2011).
The General Systems Theory (GST) came about as an effort to describe the systems approach,
born from the biological concept of the organism developed in the first part of the 20th century
(Von Bertalanffy, 1972). In contrast to the mechanistic systems which are closed and have a
direct relationship between a cause and its effect, a biological or social system is open, operating
on a principle of equifinality, where regardless of the starting point, the objective can be achieved
(Kast Rosenzweig, 1972). Any system will achieve equilibrium, but an open system can reach a
steady state by accessing resources from outside itself (Kast Rosenzweig, 1972). The underlying
assumptions of GST rely on the organization of a company resembling the inner workings of an
organism. However, subgroups within organizations can act independently of the the whole, in

Abolishing Electoral College
Former President Obama said, We need to ensure peaceful transfer of power from one freely
elected president to the next ( Obama Farewell Speech ). The sincerity of a peaceful transition of
power is decaying because of the Electoral College. The Electoral College was set up by Article II
clause II in the constitution, which laid out how the president and vice president would be elected
(Kimberling). The only major change it went through was in the form of the 12th Amendment. It
stated that the electors would cast one vote for president and one vote for vice president, instead of
naming the second place finisher vice president. Other minor changes came at the state level. An
example being the winner take all system in most states. This... Show more content on

Trust in the election process is key to democracy. Without this there is no peaceful transition of
power, which has been a keystone of the American political system (Wattenburg). One reason for
this doubt is the chance for faithless electors. Faithless electors is an elector who does not cast
their vote for the candidate that won their state ( Faithless Electors ). For example, if an elector
voted for Trump when their state s popular vote was won by Clinton. This means a person casts
their vote for the winning candidate, and the electors in their state do not have to listen to their
vote. Another source of doubt comes from the possibility of electing a minority president. The
2016 election showed the devastating results of electing a minority president. When Trump won
riots erupted across the nation. The biggest ones being in the major cities of Portland, Oakland,
and Los Angeles. In these cities the rioters chanted Not my President (Ansari). They also
vandalized buildings and cars while throwing fireworks, molotov cocktails and other objects at
officers. This led too many rests including 185 arrested in Los Angeles alone (Ansari). If the United
States of America cannot keep the transition of power peaceful our country will fall

Retrospective Analysis Anthropology
Anthropological analyses always starts with a question, and, in regards to Mythology, majority of
the questions are asked in retrospect. This retrospective analysis is a very scientific and alienating
way of approaching myth a cultural component who s roots are planted in a deeply social and
emotional practices. Years of inquiry and speculation have resulted in anthropologists coming up
with numerous methodologies and practices to explain exactly how one needs to approach the
study of myth thats best reveals its function. Most of the methods are broken down and explained
in a series of steps, much like a lab experiment as if the only way for anthropologists to write about
cultural phenomena is to abstract themselves from myth s present... Show more content on

Right away this assertion distances Malinowski and the culture he belongs to from myth. His
method of studying myth is more complex than Rooth s. Rooth s paper presents and breaks down
all variations of the creation myth in North America. After laying out the eight different types of
the creation myth, Rooth concludes, myth has geographical boundaries . Malinowski tries to
justify his claim that myth can help us understand the behaviors and customs of the people who
tell them. Right at the beginning of his essay he makes a comparison that puts forth the idea that
when a society becomes civilized and more developed, religion usurps mythology: this myth is to
the savage what, to a fully believing Christian, is the Biblical story of Creation... (Malinowski).
Malinowski refers to primitive cultures as savage because they think about myth in religious terms.
He tries to separate from mythology by calling myth a pragmatic charter and by dwelling mentally
for sometime among people of much simpler culture than our own, we maybe able to see ourselves
from a distance (Malinowski). Calling myth charter he imposes the socioeconomic concerns of
Europe at the time on primitive myth and implies that it can only exist to validate custom and
institution myth for Malinowski will always state a

Communism Socialist And Communism
Part I proved what should be obvious: That governments are composed of groups of people and
that socialist and communist governments are groups of people who collectively and directly own
or regulate the means of production. Thus, the Leftist talking point that failed socialist and
communist regimes of the past and present weren t really socialist and communist has been shown
to be a lie.
In this part we will demonstrate that the practical implications of this deception are dysfunctional in
the extreme because their programme can only be implemented by force of arms and governments
never give up power voluntarily.
It can be shown via the logic of the dictionary definitions that governments are merely groups of
people with the authority to govern a particular region, state or nation. And that socialist and
communist governments are merely groups of people who collectively own or regulate the means
of production.
One is supposed to ignore the obvious and instead pretend that a group of people collectively and
directly owning or regulating the means of production is some other vague entity but not a
government. The socialists will also insist that these reality defying facts absolve them of any
responsibility for the mass murder and repression by the people collectively and directly owning or
regulating the means of production. And why would they try to deceive the world over something
like that?

John J. Mearsheimer s Five Types Of Lying
Lying, a five letter word that is naturally connected to most politicians and leaders. How does this
assumption come to be? And what causes them to be perceived in this manner? When a leader
wants to get something accomplished, especially when it comes to International relations, they
must consciously think of ways to persuade their followers into siding with them. The first
thought that most naturally comes to their mind is, how am I going to persuade or coax the
general public into siding with them on a particular issue and what tools do they have in
accomplishing this goal? Is it really for the benefit of the nation or for a politician s self shish
motives. These are the types of inquires that John J. Mearsheimer fields in his book, Why... Show

Such as, what is the author s concept of lying, to the view he looks at lying with, and if
something isn t definitively a lie, then what is it? Let s start by focusing on what the author
considers to be a lie. A lie according to Mearsheimer is, when a person makes a statement that he
knows or suspects to be false in the hopes that others will think it is true. (Mearsheimer 16) This is
a pretty good definition, but looking at from a rhetorical standpoint, what then is truth? Because in
order for something to be considered a lie, there has to be an opposite of truth to it. This idea of
truth according to Nietzsche is an attempt to make the unreal appear as real (Nietzsche), which is
essentially lying to someone. This bases of truth must come from a more moral position. Are
politicians really moral enough to be concerned with truth? Now, that the author has established
what he considers to be a lie, let s shift to what view he thinks of lying with. Mearsheimer observes
lying with, a strictly utilitarian view . (Mearsheimer 10) So, the author is viewing the topic from a
completely practical view, in other words a fully sophist interpretation. This shows why he is open
to international lying, as sometimes a necessary act. This act in a governmental setting according to
the Roochnik article, states that, political life is contingent happenstance. (Roochnik 236) Meaning

Essay On 1960s Fashion
The 1960s were an age of fashion innovation for women. The ( 1960s In Western Fashion ) article
stated. Which is completely true, since the 60 s helped develop a new path of modern fashion for
today s world. In the 60 s people were finally more open to being more bold with their clothing
chooses instead of being like the norm, everyone basically did their own thing.Fashionin the 1960 s
changed the way the people think of and wear Fashion today. Without the 60 s outbreak of bright
and colorful fashion we might of still have plain boring clothes. Before the 60 s fashion really
wasn t all that. Most of the styles were dull and boring but once teens started trying to dress
different from their parents it all changed. To begin, It s almost like the 1950s bottled everyone up
so much that the late 1960sexploded like an old pressure cooker. Women were showing more skin
than ever before. ( 1960s Fashion: Styles, Trends, Pictures History. ). This explains, how no
women in the 50 s or before really were told showing lots of skin was okay until the 60 s. When
all of a sudden ladies started showing lots of skin people were shocked. Back then mostly
everyone was taught to not show a lot. Just like swimsuits were always a one piece so your
stomach didn t show, but in the 60 s it was many women in bikinis or tankinis sunbathing at the
beach. In Addition, during the 60 s just like today most of the newer fashion was focused towards
young adults or teens. Since they were as a

Steroids aren t bad for you, because they make you stronger faster and more athletic. Some of the
biggest sports (in order) that use sports enhancing drugs are 1. Baseball, 2. Track, 3. Football.
Speed is another big drug in sport due to my research. It s ability to keep you motivated and
more hype is causing players in the professional leagues to use it. When you use speed you just
become more skits and on the go, so it would allow you an advantage on the other people you are
currently playing. Again Football, Track, and Baseball are the most common sports who use a
performance enhancement drug. Enhancement drugs are a great and beneficial way to go when
lifting, playing a sport, etc. I know many players get caught when they use performance
enhancement drugs and get banned from games, because people consider that cheating, I
honestly don t know why though drugs are the best way to improve your ability one hundred
percent. to some people drugs in sports are a un beneficial way to go, but you don t have to
listen to them its your life choose how you live it. Protein is pretty much like a drug its kind of
like steroids it helps your body become stronger and faster, but everyone thinks protein is a great

the world come to. I mean let the people make their own decision, if they want to be faster let them,

Black Skin, White Masks, By Frantz Fanon Essay
Thus my unreason was countered with reason, my reason with real reason. Every hand was a
losing hand for me. I analyzed my heredity. I made a complete audit of my ailment. I wanted to
be typically Negro it was no longer possible. I wanted to be white that was a joke. And, when I
tried, on the level of ideas and intellectual activity, to reclaim my negritude, it was snatched away
from me. (101) Frantz Fanon was a Martinique born, Afro Caribbean psychiatrist, philosopher,
revolutionary, and writer whose works are influential in the fields of post colonial studies,
Marxism, and critical theory. He was born in 1925 and died in 1961. The quote above is from
Fanon s first book, Black Skin, White Masks (1952), originally titled as An Essay for the
Disalienation of Blacks. Fanon, in this book is providing a prognosis about the lived experience
of the black man. He is concerned with describing the place that is held by blacks in the mid 20th
century and illustrates the issues of raceand racism and to point the reader toward a better and free
future for all men. The quote above shows how oppression gives rise to ways of being. Fanon s
experience and the background of the time period he was living in justifies his hostility when he
argues that the black man is constantly trying, but never fully accomplishing, to be white and to
integrate into the white man s world. In this essay I will show the three phases Fanon goes through
to reach this conclusion: to escape his blackness,

The Reign Of Alexander The Great
Alexander the Great In 338 BC Phillip II of Macedonia, became ruler of Greece after a lengthy
battle. Phillip s plans to war against Persia were cut short when he was assassinated in 336 BC.
Speculation suggest that Phillip s previous wife, Olympias and his son Alexander may have
been involved in the assassination plot. The murder had taken place after Olympias and
Alexander were forced out of Macedonia once Phillip had remarried Cleopatra, who was much
younger. In the wake of his father s death, 20 year old Alexander III of Macedonia seized the
throne. The reign of Alexander the Great (336 323 BC) would change Asia and Europe forever.
As the crowned ruler Alexander was not in competent, he had received some of the finest
education, including tutoring by great philosopher Aristotle. While still just a teen Alexander had
become a soldier. In 338, Alexander took charge of the Companion Calvary and assisted his father
in defeating the Athenian and Theban armies. After becoming the feudal ruler of Macedonia
Alexander didn t automatically gain complete control. Once he had support of the Macedonian
army the troops helped Alexander eliminate any other possible heirs to the throne. After that was
accomplished, Alexander had to persuade the Greeks to recognize him as ruler. He did this by
sending his army south and destroying the city of Thebes. That massacre took all of 3 days. His
intimidation tactic proved beneficial, other city states quickly chose to pledge their alliance

The loving relationship that 21st century believers say they have with Godshould be a powerful motivation for them to do global mission so that His desire for a relationship with all peoples can become a reality. God s election of Abraham and Israel concerns the whole world pg24. He deals so intensely with Israel precisely because He is maintaining His personal claim on the whole world. Contextualization affects the way theology is expressed. During the 19th and 20th centuries the theological center of Protestantism seemed to be in North America and Europe, with Germany being the nexus or center for theological scholarship. However, the issues German theologians talk about are not always the issues being wrestled with in other parts of the world. In this regard Korean Bong Bin Rho has written: Western evangelical theology the shift of Christianitys numerical center of gravity southward and away from Euro America has unleashed what Harvey Cox called a tidal wave of religious change. 19 One change has to do with control. For the last few centuries, Westerners have dominated the Church s theological thinking, strategic planning, and missionary sending in ways that made believers in the West start thinking of them as the mother church. Now that Westerners are a minority in the global church, some are worried that leaders from other parts of the world will make changes in the beliefs and practices of their beloved churches and ... It has a symbiotic relationship with the pituitary gland, which stimulates the release of hormones to different parts of the body. The hypothalamus communicates with the pituitary glandthrough two separate lobes: one leading to the anterior pituitary and another leading to the posterior pituitary. Another example is my grandparent got me a car and the people they got it was running good, a great car and nothing was wrong with it, but that was a lie cause It broke down within a year and in that year and I had to put work in it a lot. Had to get new tires there was something dripping from the bottom and we could never figure out what was wrong with. But there was another example of how to not believe everything someone tells you. Tattooed individuals also score higher in the sexual activity category of the Revised Wisconsin Youth Risk Behavior Survey. This supports our hypothesis that people with tattoos, are more likely to engage in sexual activities with multiple partners. The results from alcohol and drug usage indicate there is no significant difference between tattooed and non tattooed individuals pertaining to drugs or alcohol. Getting Inked: A look into deviance and tattoos Tattooing has become a mainstream event; about one in five adults in the United States have at least one tattoo (Stanglin, 2012). In the United States, tattoos were once seen as a symbol of rebellion. They were mostly seen on bikers or people who were consider tough. These stereotypes brought about the assumption that people with tattoos are deviant and are more willing to engage in risky behavior and commit crimes. This negative perception of tattooed individuals is what brings us to look deeper into the actions and minds of those who get inked . Our purpose is to examine whether or not people who get tattoos are more likely to engage in risky activity. In our study, risky activities was defined as actions of a person who is more willing to step outside of society s boundaries and participate in more impulsive, sensation seeking, adventurous and sexual activities (Wohlrab, Fink, Kappeler, Brewer, 2009). Every month, a volunteer group from a big city would aid every family in the refugee camp with bags of rice depending on how many people are in your family. There were about ten schools in the campwhich were public schools and Catholic schools. Schools and houses were built out of bamboo and trees, and the buildings don t last more than a decade. Life was not easy in Thailand. Not every parent had a job and they found other ways to make money to provide for their families. There were many cultures and different ethnicities living in the same area and our neighbors spoke different languages and they were from different ethnic groups. There are many holidays and cultural traditions that we celebrate every year by dancing, playing music, and having big festivals. The majority of families in the camp had chickens, pigs, or other useful animals that help with everyday life. We had a garden in our backyard with fruits, vegetables, and other types of eatable plants. There were banana trees, mangos, jackfruits, peppers, papaya, sugar cane and star fruittrees. Our houses were built with bamboo and the rooftops were covered with hay. A lot of houses were on hills because the camp was not a flat place. • 9. Why Cursive Writing Should Be Taught In Schools While some argue, cursive writing belongs in the archives and common core ushers it out of schools, the evidence shows we need it as much as ever. says Jennifer Doverspike. Some people may question why it is still necessary for cursive to be taught in our schools. Especially when we are no longer in the 21st century. Where we have now entered the new age where technology is constantly on the rise, and tablets and iPhones have taken over. This drastic change has allowed our children and adults to take the easier route. Although the electronic world has taken over and has added new elements to the writingworld. Researchers have found a strong connection between writing by hand, the mind, language skills, memory and artificial thinking. So why cursive still needed in our education system? This seems to be a alarming question the education policy makers are facing with technology on the rise. A place where the curls and the beautiful long handed writing seems to be outdated. In this short essay I will explain the benefits of why cursive should remain in our school system. Some argue that it isn t needed anymore because it ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Cursive writing allows us to connect to the past whether its history or reading our grandparents letters. If you cannot write cursive how do you except to understand it. A lot of historical documents like the Declaration of Independence, Bill of Rights and many others are all originally written in cursive. Steroid Aromatization A little bit about steroids: aromatizing and not only A little bit about steroids: aromatizing and not only.Prolonged use of steroids can lead to increased levels of estradiol in the blood and as a consequence of it to aromatization. I note here that this property have only the so called aromatizable steroids. Testosterone is considered to have the biggest incline to this process, of course. The second place occupies such a steroid as methandrostenolone. Boldenone and flyuksimetreon have more weak property of aromatization. There are steroids that can be converted to estradiol without the process of aromatization, these include nandrolone, norethandrolone and ethylestrenol. As with any side effect, this defect requires prolonged use or overdose. And the last thing I would like to discuss each person has an individual reaction to the estrogens in the blood because we are all different as banal as it may sound, some people even have immunity to the process of aromatization, and some on the contrary may be particularly inclined to this problem.Restoring the natural balance.Lets finish with the theory and go back to what we actually started with and what I wanted to tell you about, that is to anti estrogens. It is a mistake to assume that anti estrogen is a drug created specifically for men, as if it was created to suppress the development of the feminine in men. The situation is quite opposite, originally anti estrogens were created for women who had problems with an excess of estrogen in their bodies. For example, particularly large ... • 11. The Pros And Cons Of Artificial Intelligence Although there are many threats and worries with Artificial Intelligence there are also many benefits that can outweigh the negatives. Our society is already experiencing this technology in vehicles that have auto sensing and braking capabilities. Another really intriguing feature of AI would be faster and more accurate web searches. I believe being able to provide information instantly will further improve lives and the business world, since time is money. Today we call artificial intelligence narrow artificial intelligence which means artificial intelligence that is weak. Google is an example of narrow artificial intelligence that we use every day. Other examples of narrow artificial intelligence include ATMs and touchless car washes, they are designed to execute a set of tasks. Whereas AI can learn set tasks and create new tasks based on its intuition and ability to think and problem solve for itself. What s in store for Artificial intelligence within the next 5 years (believe me a lot can happen with technology in 5 years)? 3 D printers, IOT (internet of things), virtual reality (VR), and artificial intelligence (AI) are taking the spotlight light currently. These technologies will exponentially improve and become more commonplace in the business world then expand into the consumer market once businesses have improved their capabilities as a pioneer in the technologies. Eden Robinson Belonging A Journey to Acceptance: A Comparative Analysis of Eden Robinson s Traplines and Joseph Boyden s The OrendaHumans tend to have the instinctive desire to belong and be a significant member of something greater than themselves. This sense of belonging is usually provided by family; but what happens when this vital component of an individual s development is flawed? The main characters in Traplines by Eden Robinson and The Orenda by Joseph Boyden suffer from this exact predicament. In Traplines, the most distinct form of Will s confinement lies in his routine lifestyle that involves abuse and addiction. An example of this is shown when the text states, On Christmas Eve ... Mom and Dad will go to a lot of parties and get really drunk. Eric will go to a lot of parties and get really stoned. Maybe this year I will too (Robinson 458). The certainty behind his prediction suggests that he has been trapped in a life of such conduct for a prolonged period of time and that he might as well concede to the destructive path it provides. If the story is viewed through a lens in which Will is of Native descent, the feeling of being restricted within one s self does not only have an impact of his sense of self identity, but on other people s perception of him as well. The text states, When he [Mr. Smythe] reached over, I put my hands up and covered my face. He stopped, then took the phone out of my hands. It s okay, he said. I won t hurt you. It s okay (Robinson 461), which illustrates how his constraint to an abusive atmosphere is able to strain his relationships with those that he trusts. Will also finds himself to be confined in his inability to speak up for himself, as displayed through his altercations with Eric and when Mr. Smythe incorrectly assumes that more than one member of his family contributes to his abuse. Although these are two different circumstances, Will s inaction to both is most likely out of fear for what could result from retaliation. As for The Orenda, it is evident that Snow Falls often feels trapped within the past, most of which encompasses traumatic experiences. As one anonymous teacher points out: I have had 32 different languages spoken in my classroom over a 25 year period. Eighty four languages are spoken in our district. (Anon 1998 Haas 2007). Historically, single gendereducationhas been more prevalent in other countries, such as New Zealand, Belgium, and the United Kingdom, than it is in the United States. One reason that the United States has had far fewer single gender schools is because of the laws concerning education that the states all follow. Also, single sex schools were not able to be financially funded. These parts all combine in a certain way to make the watch work, or even exist. If these parts were not combined in the exact order, the watch would not do anything profound. Paley further describes how an observer could conceive the watch in the mind. He would then reflect, in some sense, how the watch was made independently. It was not brought into existence by other watches, but only by a creator combining different items together. There is the idea of metallic nature, but assuming a law also assumes a lawgiver. • 40. Importance Of Reading Comprehension There has been much research conducted in recent years by educators on early childhood language development. In the article The Importance of Discussing 50 Cent Words with Preschoolers , the author, Molly F. Collins, illustrates how to implement the use of sophisticated vocabulary within the classroom in order to enhance children s vocabulary and promote curiosity with respect to words. She believes that this robust knowledge of words will ultimately improve their reading and comprehension, along with their overall learning in later years. Research shows that preschoolers who are exposed to sophisticated languageand hear ample explanations of complex words, acquire a larger vocabulary than those who are not. (Collins, 2010, p. 15). In the article, it is evident that rare words expand the vocabulary knowledge of children, prompt them to ask questions and accelerates the development of their reading comprehensionskills. (Dickinson et al. 2003, p. 15). Discussions in the classroom produce opportunities for teachers to clarify the meanings of the words, repair misunderstandings of new words, as well as extend the children s knowledge of them. (Collins, 2012, p. 16). By using sophisticated words children become aware of the possibility that they can misinterpret a word, which is important because it prompts them to check their understandingof the words they use. (Collins, 2012, p. 18). Children also begin to realize that certain words can have multiple meanings and thus can be used in different contexts. Exposure to sophisticated vocabulary can be developed in different settings such as small group play, mealtime or during story time. Children gain knowledge of the words used from other children and the teacher, and also compare their own understanding to new information that other children or the teacher provides. (Collins, 2012, p. 20). Research has shown that the use of complex words during play by the teacher contributes to children s reading comprehension in the fourth grade. (Dickinson and Porche, 2011, p. 15). Hence, exposing children to sophisticated words at an early age provides them with a richer vocabulary, improved reading comprehension and stronger literacy development. The article written by ... The Power Of Briseis And Agamemnon s Fate The ironic dynamic that Briseis, having no power to control her fate, by simply existing manages to be the first catalyst for Achilles fate contrasts the multitude of times Rebekah accomplishes to act on her own and create events within Genesis. This contrast ultimately exists because Briseis and Rebekah have different feelings of safety and security which allows or prevents them from feeling free to act on their desires. The instance of Briseis not being able to control her fate is within the first book of the poem. Agamemnon, angry that he must give up his geras for the good of the army, fights with Achilles, yelling I m coming to your hut and taking Briseis, / Your own beautiful prize, so that you will see just how much / Stronger I am than you (Il. 1.194 196). Agamemnon abuses his power as the most powerful king in Greece over a matter of pride and uses it against one of the greatest warriors in the army, which makes Agamemnon lose respect of his men. Not one man asks Briseis if she will accept this change as all the men view her as an object for being Achilles geras. How Briseis feels about being passed about is made very clear when the heralds went to her And brought Briseis, cheeks flushed, out of the tent / And gave her to the heralds, who led her away. / She went unwillingly (Il. 1.359 361). Under the British rule, slaves were treated harshly and weren t allowed to integrate with the other colonists, compared to the Dutch who were more tolerant and allowed the slaves to have some legal rights. Normally when a pitcher reaches any of their goals they achieve a win. Starting pitchers normally have at a minimum three effective pitches. They need pitches to get ahead in the count on the batter and then a strike out pitch. A strike out pitch is a pitch with a lot of break or movement and is hard for the batter to pick up and normally ends with freezing the batter or a swing and miss.
