An Analysis Of Peter Pan, By J. M. Golding s I Die...
J. M. Barrie, the author of Peter Pan, said: To die would be an awfully big adventure. I believe it
would be. I have had many experiences with almost dying. I have had many experiences where my
life had flashed before my eyes. April 4th, 2014, I almost died 27 times. On that date, I looked death
right in the face, and laughed at it.
In the summer, I was supposed to go to a girls camp for my church. There were a few requirements we
had to pass off before going. One of them was a 3 mile hike and a camping trip. We decided to hit 2
birds with 1 stone. So we set a date to go camping with the girls who were going to camp. There were
about 16 girls who decided they would go. We set off on our 1 night trip on April 4th, 2014. It started
off normal. A regular trail through the woods. The path started to get thinner and thinner as we walked
on it. We then got to a part where we had to go over a log that was partly hanging over a chasm. I
peered over the edge to see thousands of sharp rocks and a large pool of rushing water. After 3 girls
had gone over the log safely, it was my turn. I slowly put my right leg over the enormous log. I had
made sure to steady myself before putting my left leg over. After I had done so, I threw my left leg
over and sat on the log. Then I put my right foot on the ground. I thought I was safe, but my left foot s,
shoelace got caught on the rugged wood. I pulled with force, but that was a bad idea. I got it undone,
but that force threw me off balance

Ageism As A Diversity Issue Essay
Introduction
Ageism is surprisingly common in Australia, particularly within the workforce. The definition of
ageism in working life according to Furunes and Mykletun (2009), is the stereotypes, prejudice, and
discrimination against ageing workers, based on chronological age or age categories such as older
worker or senior . This phenomenon has seen older workers increasingly subjected to biases and
discriminatory practices when seeking and maintaining employment. Hence, the importance for
organisations to understand current and trending issues on age discrimination, in order to draft and
implement, effective, and relevant policies. The purpose of this report is to provide an in depth
analysis on ageism as a diversity issue in the workplace and to recommend organisational policies that
recognise older workers as a strategic advantage. This analysis will focus on literature relevant to the
recruitment and development of older workers. To begin with, this report will consider the context of
ageism in Australia providing a deeper understanding of the diversity issue. Furthermore, an extensive
discussion on the positive and negative age stereotypes of older workers will follow. The report will
then review literature regarding organisational practices towards recruitment and development from an
age related perspective. Finally, recommendations will ensue, providing organisational best practise
suggestions to create age positive recruitment and training experiences.

Getting Out Of Trouble Essay
Getting out of Trouble Imagine this: you are failing two subjects in school and you can t graduate if
you keep it up. Your parents ask, What would you like for your graduation party? Should you lie and
tell what you want...or tell them you are failing? Immanuel Kant defines lying as an intentional
untruthful declaration to another person . Everyone lies in this society that we live in, from kids to the
elderly. So why stress about it? Lying is always justified because it is up to each individual to choose
what to believe to do except for when you are putting other in harm s way. From my point of view,
lying can protect the feeling and lives of others. For example, in the article, It s the Truth by
NBCNEWS.com, Cohen states that, ...it is sometimes a moral duty... you re lying to protect someone
from serious harm... Cohen thinks that it is very necessary to lie in your life. According to Cohen, you
lie for other people s well being. Secondly, the article ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

get you out of trouble at any time. Tim believes that lying can make your life easier as you age. Also,
the article states, ...it seems lying is a trait children develop as toddlers... children emulate behavior
modeled before them and have a tendency to repeat what is said around them. Children are showed

the child gets older, the child becomes more responsible if the parents show the child who/what to

Tim Peake Summary
The Christian Science Monitor article, PUT THE TITLE HERE, PUT THE LINK HERE, discusses
the dangers of space travel with astronaut Tim Peake. According to Peake, a window on the
International Space Station (ISS) was damaged by a paint chip sized piece of metal. He contends that
the ISS can withstand this type of small hit by debris. However, a strike by larger Space debris could
be hazardous. In fact, the ISS had to do a planned maneuver to get out of the way of a larger piece of
debris. For many years debris from inoperable satellites has accumulated in Earth s orbit. The trash
left from these satellites is posing an increasing threat to current missions. In the year 1998, The
National Research Council (NRC) of the National Academy of Sciences equated the danger from
space debris to that of a spacecraft s launch or reentry. And since that time, the amount of debris in
space has more than doubled. Another issue that contributes to the danger of the debris, is that it is
traveling in space at 17,500 miles per hour. At this rate, even a small piece of debris could cause
serious damage. Consequently, there have been many ideas put forth about how to rid Space of all ...

Undoubtedly, less prosperous countries will not be able to travel to Space if they have to take on the
added expense of outfitting their spacecraft with de orbiting technology. However, Space travel is a
luxury, not a necessity. If a country cannot afford the added expense then that country is not ready to
partake in Space travel. Also, various companies and countries will wish to choose their own way to
manage the decomposition of their spacecraft. I think this is negotiable, as long as they do have a
viable plan in place before travel. However, an International law that requires a standardized method
for removing debris and planning for future debris would be easier to monitor and

Lonnie Bunch And Skorton s Athlete As Agent Of Change
Protesting is one of the most elevated forms of patriotism and for some time, athletes have been using
their fame to protest and promote a political agenda. This is mostly due to the high population that
follows them and listens to athletes. In the opinion article, Athlete as Agent of Change , written by
Lonnie Bunch and David Skorton, it describes how athletes are basically representatives and the voice
of the people. It is because of their fame and accomplishments that people look up to them for
inspiration. It is because of this that athletes should use their fame to promote a political agenda. Sport
has been used to show the worthiness of an estranged group and nudge the nation to live up to its
stated ideals. An example to the protests

Robert Louis Stevenson s Dr. Jekyll and Mary Shelley s Frankenstein
Both Robert Louis Stevenson s Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde and Mary Shelley s Frankenstein tell
cautionary tales of scientists abusing their creative powers to exist in another sphere where they
cannot be directly blamed for their actions. Though Frankenstein s creation is a Creature distinct from
his creator while Dr. Jekyll metamorphoses into Mr. Hyde, the double of each protagonist
progressively grows more violent throughout his story. By doing so he symbolizes his creator s
repressed desires in a stifling society.
The stories have parallel structures in the three main ways. First, both Dr. Jekyll and Frankenstein are
scientists who, though welcomed by ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Jekyll s associations with demonic and insane imagery contrasts with the well polished society from
which he struggles to extricate himself. His self imposed isolation is the least harmful manner he uses
to show his displeasure with society.
Frankenstein similarly isolates himself. Under the guise of protecting his friends and fiancée from the
Creature that stalks him, the scientist decides to leave England instead of marrying: My journey had
been my own suggestion, and Elizabeth, therefore, acquiesced; but she was filled with disquiet at the
idea of my suffering, away from her, the inroads of misery and grief (149). However, Frankenstein
cannot muster the same emotion: I remembered only, and it was with a bitter anguish that I reflected
on it, to order that my chemical instruments should be packed to go with me (149). Frankenstein also
has a penchant for working alone; like Dr. Jekyll, he is emotionally detached from a society that
expects him to fulfill various obligations, and he accordingly responds with physical detachment.
Both Hyde and the Creature choose children for their first victims. According to an eyewitness, Hyde
trampled calmly over the child s body and left her screaming on the ground...He was perfectly cool
and made no resistance, but gave me one look, so ugly that it brought out the sweat on

Butler s Gender Trouble
We tend to think of power as laws and the act of regulating behavior. In Butler s Gender Trouble she
talks about how power not only regulates but also forms who we are as individuals. For Foucault
power comes from knowledge which he discusses in The History of Sexuality. Foucault discusses the
concept of biopolitics, which links biological processes, such as the reproductive process which can be
be controlled via birth control, to economic or political power, for example when the government
controls what kind of birth control is legal and acceptable and economically they make millions of
dollars on the birth control pill and condoms. Similar to biopolitics is the concept of bio power, ...it
put into operation an entire machinery for producing true discourses concerning it. Not only did ...

Foucault states that this power comes from discourse of a subject. In The History of Sexuality he
focuses on the myth that sexual repression occurred during the Victorian era. He argues that in fact sex
was turned into discourse due to the occurrence of the confessional that took place in the Catholic
church. At this time the catholic churches made sex and sexual desires sinful and something that
needed to be told in confession in order for the individual to repent. Due to the need to confess people
were forced to think about their desires and after confessing the priest s judgement and language that
was used turned the individual desires into discourse. This time in history was the way to sexuality
becoming controlled. The information that was gained gave power to the priests to make these
individuals repent and feel sinful for having these desires. This phenomenon is not only seen in the
case of sex and sexual desires but in anything where individuals start to talk and where professionals
take advantage of the information and feed on the need to control how individuals see

Catholicism is Christ’s Church
Humans are rational beings that use their intellect to try an achieve some sort of sense of the world, in
other words truth. Truth is something that can not be denied as false. Since all humans are not part of
the same culture, humanity as a whole does not share the exact notion of what is considered to be true.
Humanity tries to achieve or know the truth through various outlets or practices. These different belief
systems are understood to have been formed from their specific culture. Obviously, humanity has
many different cultures and with that comes many different forms of truth seeking. There is one
religion that claims to have the fullness of truth. That religion is the faith of Catholicism which means
the Universal Church. Through ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Non Catholics through the inclusive perspective are seen to be on a pathway to Christ and his Church.
Through the grace of God these other religions can lead to the fullness of truth or be obstacles in
attaining it. Dominus Iesus did not say that Christ s Church is the Catholic Church because other
religions share some truths in accordance to the full truth that the Church proclaims to have. If the
document were to say that Christ s Church is the Catholic Church it would exclude other religions and
deny truths that exist with the Church s inclusivist views. Extra ecclesiam nulla salus means outside
the church there is no salvation. It is possible for a person who does not belong to the Visible Catholic
Church because salvation in Christ is accessible by virtue of a grace, which, while having a
mysterious relationship to the Church, does not make them formally part of the Church, but enlightens
them in a way which is accommodated to their spiritual and material situation (paragraph 20). The fact
that anyone can be theoretically saved does mean it makes a difference whether we are called to a
follower of Christ or not. With the coming of the Saviour Jesus Christ, God has willed that the Church
founded by him be the instrument of the salvation for all humanity (paragrah 22). We can t know for
sure that a certain non Christian is not saved because God is the only one the decides whether
someone is worthy of eternal salvation Dominus Iesus says that

Meridian Plaza Fire
The One Meridian Plaza fire that took place on February 23, 1991 was an utter disaster in which
everything went wrong. Starting with the initial fire detection and continuing to the eventual
suppression of the fire, events unfolded in manner that heavily stacked the chips against fire fighters
of Philadelphia. Even though this was a tragedy of immense proportions, there are lessons to be
learned and behaviors to be rectified through a thorough study. With an examination of multiple
factors, including the building s construction, occupancy, fire protection systems, the nature of the fire
fighters response, and the fire growth and control to name a few, a clearer picture of what happened
February 23, 1991 can be realized. Furthermore, lessons ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
On arrival they witnessed smoke and flames on the mid level of the building. Two battalion chiefs
arrived on scene and one proceeded to set up incident command at the lobby, while the other led fire
fighters up the building for fire attack (Routley 8). One of the security guards then informed the chiefs
that the fire was on the 22nd floor, and at 2033 battalion chief 5 ordered a second alarm (Routley 8).
Due to insufficient fire protection around the utility lines all power was lost to the building (Routley
8). At the loss of primary power the emergency generator didn t kick in due to improper maintenance
it was unable to start (Routley 8). This profoundly impacted the fire operations for the remainder of
the incident because the entire building was left without electricity (Routley 8). As stated in the
tactical report, This total power failure had a major impact on the firefighting operations. The lack of
lighting made it necessary for firefighters to carry out suppression operations in complete darkness
using only battery powered lights. Since there was no power to operate elevators, firefighters were
forced to hand carry all suppression equipment including SCBA replacement cylinders up the stairs to
the staging area that was established on the 20th floor. In addition, personnel had to climb at least 20

Genetically Engineered Crops Essays
Genetically Engineered Crops
Chemical and seed companies have been working the last several years to alter the genetic make up of
certain crops to combat heavy pressure from insects and weeds. Through genetic manipulation plant
breeders have been able to make certain crops resistant to different types of chemicals and insects.
Breeders can alter the crops by adding to a specific plant one or more genes from other related crops
with a known resistance to an insect or herbicide The use of genetically engineered crops has become
a hotly debated topic over the last couple of years. Environmentalists are concerned with how these
new crops will affect the environment. Farmers want to know how these crops will help them to

Roundup works by inhibiting enzymes essential to plant growth. By increasing the enzymes produced
in plants, the plant is unaffected by the herbicide (Monsanto Crossroads). With the insertion of the
Roundup resistant and Bt genes, the negative environmental impacts from agriculture can be reduced.
One way environmental damage can be reduced is by decreasing pesticide use. According to
Monsanto, Bollgard cotton, a variety resistant to bollworms, was used in 13% of the total cotton crop
in 1996. Sixty percent of those growers used no insecticide, most others only used one application.
This is compared to an average of 4 to 6 applications. The reduced applications saved a quarter million
gallons of insecticide. Monsanto has also developed potatoes with resistance to the Colorado potato
beetle. Farmers using this new variety reported eliminating 1 5 insecticide applications. The total
reduction in applications of insecticides was between 33% 42% over conventional methods (Biotech
Benefits).
By inserting the Bt gene into the plant cell, only the insects that are damaging the crop are killed.
Conversely, when the Bt gene is used in a pesticide spray many more insects that may have been
beneficial to the crop are killed (ESA Position Statement). By having insect resistance built in, farmers
can eliminate costly trips across the field needed to spray insecticides. Much like Bt corn,

When Google began, like any other company, management was very important. It was the baby of
Larry Page and Sergey Brin who were both students at Stanford during this time. The two had a
unique perspective on global information. Page and Brin rarely did things the conventional way but
there company was started on a basic structure. Google had added two new positions from 2004 but
even those additional positions aren t the major catalysts of Google s managerial success (Stross,
2008).
Page, in his first major reorganization since taking the reins as CEO earlier this week, placed
executives leading the groups directly under his supervision, eliminating management layers thought
to slow product development, according to sources familiar with the situation (Oreskovic. A 2011). By
bringing Gen Y ers into top management teams may provide the knowledge and energy to speed up
the renewal of American business leadership and American business. For startups, we already bring in
adult supervision to complement the skills and knowledge of entrepreneurial kid techies. For the
thousands of big companies lumbering along the 21st century, it s time to bring the little fockers into
shared power. At the moment, the world is just too complex for Boomer CEOs. We need B Y team
leadership. We need to follow the standard that Google has put forth.
Explain senior management s role in preparing the organization for its most recent change.

The Crime Of Computer Forensics
Computer Forensics
In a world where technology is increasingly becoming the way of life, it was only a matter of time
before crime was no longer just in the streets but happening online as well. Criminals now get a new
approach to carry out their crimes with the use of computers. Since technology is more like a murder
mystery than catching the bad guy in the act, a new discipline of forensics needed to be put into place.
This is known as computer forensics. Forensic science is any science used for the purpose of law. In
the case of computer forensics it is the discipline that combines elements of law and computer science
to collect and analyze data from computer systems, networks, wireless communications, and storage
devices in a way that is admissible as evidence in a court of law (U.S. Cert, 2008). Meaning if you do
something illegal on the Internet it can be found. Since the widespread use of computers, computer
crime has caused an increase in computer investigations during the twenty first century. Some reasons
for investigation include: identity theft, such as stolen social security and credit card numbers, to find
evidence of a cheating spouse, to investigate hackers on a computer system, to find evidence of child
pornography, and much more.
History of Computer Forensics
The 1970s were when military investigators first started finding instances of computer related criminal
activity and needed a more comprehensive approach for solving these technical crimes.

The poem, Daddy , by Sylvia Plath, made the reader feel the hatred and bitterness the speaker felt

the emotional torment her father may have caused her before his death. Throughout the poem, she
used a complex combination of imagery and figurative language to describe how she felt towards her
father when she realized who he really was a brute man with no heart. Plath uses imagery throughout
this poem to convey the severity of the wrongdoings she had experienced in her life. For example, in
line 56, she says, Bit my pretty red heart in two, which appeals to the sense of sight. This part is found

Varities of Violence Essay
The books Child of the Dark by Carolina Maria de Jesus and Testimony by Victor Montejo describes
the lives of two individuals from different societies. In both of these societies there was much hardship
and violence. The two main characters who wrote these books describe life through their point of view
and explains the hardship and challenges they had living in a society filled with violence. Victor
Montejo lived in a society that was a very poor area. The village was located in Guatemala. Though he
lived outside of this village it is where he spent most of his time since he was the schoolmaster. The
people in village were very poor and believed in community as a way of life. The villagers were out to

fought to bring a new government and change to the Guatemalan society. They would attempt to do
this by fighting against all people who they saw is believing the government was right. The other type
of people in the society around them was the government workers and officals themselves who
promised all these small villages such great things but just keep the money themselves instead. If you
were defy the government you would be killed, imprisoned or tortured.
Carolina Maria de Jesus in many ways lived off in a worse society then Victor Montejo even though
their were some similarities. Carolina lived in a area in Sao Paulo with her three children. In this story
it was referred to as a Favela, which is technically a slum. Really it is more then a slum it really means
you are secluded from the rest of society in a area where it is almost impossible to get you and your

Ronald Reagan, George H.W. Bush, Bill Clinton, and currently Barack Obama. In this paper I will

States the global leader in protecting the environment. Throughout Clinton s administration from 1993
to 2001, the ambitious goals of environmental protection had many highs and lows. The United States

As, arguably, the only global power at the time, the United States spearheaded the dialogue on climate
change. At some points the United States has trouble convincing other nations to come on board. This
can be seen in documents three and four, where Japan is having some trepidations over industrialized
nations involvement in climate change versus developing nations. It can especially be seen in
document three where they clearly have different perspectives on where they see climate change in the
long term. Japan is also skeptical of many of the emission trading s the United States takes part in
because they are not quite sure how it would work and what position they would play. The Japanese
Ministry of Foreign Affairs was particularly worried about China s role in this agreement also, they
did not want to carry out strict reductions while China continued to pollute the air around them. In
comparison, document nine also centers around the United States as it tries to get the most out of the
present climate change agreement, by working with Ambassador Raul A Estrada Oyuela. Documents
three and four are more focused on the beginning of various climate change treaties the United States
was trying to conceive. While document 4 focuses on a climate agreement after Kyoto that would be
in the United States best interest.
Furthermore, Document one discusses the United States goals in reducing greenhouse emissions. It
lays out how to achieve success in

The career path chosen for this paper is a lawyer. I have chosen this career because my Mother is a
lawyer and I have always been interested in her line of work. I plan to work and or intern at her office
or at another law office my senior year of high school and in college. Being a lawyer is appealing to
me because I like to help people and defend them. This career will cover what you will need to go

Write Your Own Rock Song
In most instances, a listener strives to find a song that is simultaneously culturally and socially
conscious, while having a listenability that allows the song to be played at any time or any place. For
the above song, I took a pointedly socially and culturally approach to the socioeconomic inequalities
that persist in the United States, using subtle and themes of freedom and hardship, while concurrently
using the not so subtle theme of class differences to convey the differences between social classes in
our society. The lyrics provide the potential listener with a juxtaposition of someone who invariably
questions their place in society in comparison with an individual who seems to have everything they
could ever need or want, hence the inclusion of (Mercedes) Benz in the second verse. The lyrics are
written in simple verse form and intentionally have the last two lines of the first verse rhyming with
each other, as well as the first two lines of the second verse rhyming with one another. The rhyming is
meant to emphasis the restraints that lower class people have in terms of social mobility and the
freedom those in upper classes enjoy on a daily basis. The end and Benz creates a slant rhyme that
resembles the perpetual cycle of poverty in contrast with someone who is sad about their luxury car
being out of commission. Given the form of the lyrics and their social connections, the options for
music selection and instrumentation varied across genre and sound. For the

Vitamin D And Calcium.vitamin D Essay
Bone Health, Calcium and Vitamin D
My research of the vitamin or mineral will be based on vitamin D and Calcium.Vitamin D is a fat
soluble vitamin, which means it is stored in the body s fatty tissue, normally is obtained through
exposure to sunlight, which triggers vitamin D production in the skin is found naturally in very few
foods but in the United States, it is routinely added to milk and infant formula. Other right food
sources are egg yolks and some types of fish such as salmon and mackerel and is also available in
nutritional supplements. Vitamin D allows your body to absorb calcium which is necessary for
building strong, healthy bones, without enough vitamin D and calcium, bones may not form properly
in childhood and can lose mass, become weak, and break easily in adulthood. Even if you obtain
enough calcium in your diet, your body will not absorb it, if you don t secure enough vitamin D.
You can load up on calcium from plenty of different kinds of food. For example, add some dairy to
your diet, such as milk, cheese, and yogurt. Or try veggies like broccoli, kale, and Chinese cabbage.
Some foods, like orange juice or cereal, are calcium fortified, which means the nutrient is added in by
the manufacturer before you buy it.
Bone is a living tissue that is constantly breaking down and being replaced. Throughout life, our body
balances the loss of bone with the creation of new bone. We reach our highest bone mass at about age
30.

Maimonides Influence On Jewish Law
Rabbi Moshe ben Maimon, Talmudist, Halachist, physician, philosopher and communal leader, known
to the world at large as Maimonides, is considered to be one of the most important figures in the
history of scholarship (Fackenheim 171). Maimonides foundations of knowledge continues to have a
large presence in the fields of medicine, Jewish law, religion, and most notably, philosophy.
Maimonides achieved fame as a physician and wrote medical treatises on a number of diseases, and
proposed cures. His 10 medical treatises show his humanism as a physician, and emphasis on
preventative medicine. Through his medical scholarship, he emphasizes the treatment of the whole
patient, mind and body, which allows a doctor to be a more effective physician, as well as a teacher of
well being. He pioneered descriptions of diseases such as hepatitis, pneumonia, diabetes, and asthma,
as well as many others, with remarkably modern treatment methods for his time. Maimonides was a
physician of whom modern medicine would be proud if he were alive today (Rosner). ... Show more

Analysis Of The Battle Of Bunker Hill
A general for the American colonials, Nathanael Greene said it best when he stated, he wished he
could sell them another hill at the same price. The battle of Bunker Hill was a significant event for the
American colonists cause. It was fought in less than 3 hours on June 17th, 1775, but became a game
changer in the struggle for independence. The British s plan to fortify and occupy the Boston area and
harbor was met with a determined colonist army headed by Colonel Prescott. Although the colonists
were way outnumbered, their cause for freedom produced much more vigorous attempt to hold their
ground. The death toll was staggering for the British army and they were found perplexed at the
reduction of their force. The American ragtags were ferocious in their attempt to win this battle. Had it
not been that their ammo was depleted, the battle might have had a different ending. The British took
advantage of the lack of ammo and was able to drive the colonists back. Contrary to popular opinion,
the Battle of Bunker Hill was a victory for the American colonists. ... Show more content on

Taking is by means which the federal or state governments can enforce eminent domain or
condemnation of your land or your land rights through just compensation, and fair market value, for
public purposes. Meaning, that the government can physically acquire said property for public use or
purpose and regulate the use or the manner in which the property is currently controlled. In the below
case, Kelo v. City of New London, the term public use is loosely related to public purpose, as the
focus was on economic growth for the area, to provide for increased taxes, and even additional
employment opportunities. The overall benefits were to the public, but at a cost, who s cost, the
current standing residents required change, by means of uprooting there families and moving. More

act all of the American Colonists were taxed. They were taxed on every single piece of printed paper
that they used. For example, legal documents, Ship s papers, licenses, newspapers, other publications

Population Decline Initiated The City s Fiscal Stress
Detroit, MI.
Background Population decline initiated the city s fiscal stress. Once being the largest city in the U.S.,
Detroit s population declined from 1.85 million during 1950 to 714,000 in 2010 (Stone et al. 2015,
p.91). Similar to the case of D.C., this population decrease is a result of suburbanization. Population
decrease resulted in reduced property values and a decline in property tax revenues (Stone et. al.
2015). Parallel to population loss, declining unemployment as a result in crisis in the manufacturing
sector also took place. Consequently, the decrease in employment resulted in consistent decline in the
city s income tax receipts, causing revenues to fall approximately by 54 percent (Stone et al.2015).

In its recent history, the FCB was not received well by Detroit voters, particularly African Americans
(Presbey 2015). Currently, the majority of Detroit citizens are African Americans and they live in an
area ruled by an emergency manager that they did not elect democratically (Presbey 2015). In the
2012 election, Michigan citizens repealed the Emergency Manager Law, in which fifty two percent of
the state s residents, including eighty two percent of Detroit voters, voted to take away de governor s
right to impose an emergency manager (Presbey 2015, p.262). However, soon after the repeal the
governor drafted a new emergency manager law known as Public Act 425, which could not be
repealed because it is tied to the budget. In response to the FCB, different resistance groups have
emerged. For example, the Boggs Center to Nurture Community serves as a reaction to the crisis. The
group aims to offer comfort to the citizens through a revolution of thinking, values and living (Presby
2015, p. 271). Moreover, recent trouble over Water has caused uproar in the city. Without citizen
consent, the FCB shut down water to about 18,000 during the summer of 2014 (Presby 2015) and
households were shut off for due bills as little as $150, and they were often not given clear notice or
warning of shutoff procedures (Presby 2015, p.271). Such actions caused activists fighting against this

1. Compare and contrast the primordialist with the instrumentalist/circumstantialist approaches that
provide an understanding of the concept of Ethnicity? What is the constructionist perspective?
According to constructionism, how do the elites view ethnicity? (Use Introduction from Hutchinson
and Smith book Ethnicity and the excerpt of chapters from Cornell and Hartmann that will be posted
on blackboard. NB: I used Cornell and Hartmann s book Ethnicity and Race for my class lecture on
approaches to ethnicity.)
In Ethnicity by John Hutchinson and Anthony Smith identify two existing camps of ethnicity:
primordialist and instrumentalist/circumstantialist. The term priomordialist in terms of ethnicity was
fathered by Edward Shils, a notable sociologist. Shils sought to differentiate various social bonds
personal, primordial, sacred and civil ties and to demonstrate how even in contemporary, civic
societies other types of social bonding existed (Hutchinson and Smith ). After Shils coined the concept
of primordialist, late anthropologist, Clifford Greetz advanced the subject and spoke of the
overpowering and ineffable quality attaching to certain kinds of tie, which the participants tended to
see as exterior, coercive, and given. Greetz further emphasized that the catalyst to an effective and
successful modern state is the drive for personal identity a fundamental basis of primordial ties. By

Personality Theory Of Steve Mcgarrett
Steve McGarrett is a police officer and main character in the TV show Hawaii Five 0. While some of
his behaviors on the show can seem very strange and even dangerous, they can all be easily explained
using the four perspectives on personality. McGarrett grew up in Hawaii with his two parents and
sister, but his mom died when he was 13, she faked her death because she was a CIA agent, and he
was sent to a military boarding school on the US mainland. Steve, in a way, used repression to cope
with his mother s death by never consciously thinking about her until he found out she was actually
still alive. While he didn t have a true father figure at his military academy to replicate, he was taught
how to be the perfect man by the Navy. This is somewhat related to the identification process how a
child begins to replicate their parents values. Steve still follows many of the same routines as he did
during the Navy and also follows many similar behavioral ideals. Steve was taught that true men never
show any emotion, so therefore Steve had a never strong superego and rarely got flustered or upset.
He is always able to keeps his emotions in check and never lashes out in anger for any reason. On the
other hand, he is also very stubborn and makes many very dangerous choices without much of a
second thought, showing how his id is also very prominent. All of these personality theories can be

An email or a text message can cause a block in my brain that doesn t let me focus. Sometimes when I
am reading and I receive an email, I have to go back and read the chapter from beginning because I
lose attention. Therefore, I feel the article is correct that there should be a limit on multitasking while
studying. In addition, many people nowadays find it helpful to listen to music while reading or doing
homework because it can relax the brain. Although, they might find it helpful, I completely do not
agree that this is helpful for the brain. Multitasking can cause the brain to overload. Kids should
challenge themselves to stay away from multitasking. One example is my cousin who loves to read
while listening to music. Before he went to eleventh grade in high school, he had a simple phone.
When he went to eleventh grade his parents bought him an iPhone for his birthday. From then on he
started listening to music with headsets while reading or doing homework at home. He didn t notice
that the music was preventing him staying focused. When the grading period ended his parents noticed
that his grades dropped drastically. Soon enough his parents took away his phone and he started doing
well in school again. This is also shown in the article that multitasking is not helpful at all. In
conclusion, electronic devices used for entertainment should be limited in today s society. People
should start to have a diet in their digital technology use.

What Is The Decline Of Newspaper In The 1930 s
The early 1900 s could be called the consolidation era as technological changes and competition for
advertising dollars increased the competitive drive for circulation numbers. In response to these
changes, many newspaper chains grew as smaller newspapers were gobbled up and absorbed into the
chains or became obsolete. Complementing the glitz of the roaring twenties, a new form of journalism
emerged that appealed to a different type of reader with its illustrious smaller size. But, as economic
conditions worsened into the 1930 s, circulation increased while revenues did not. This is mostly due
to advertising dollars being split between radio and television as both gained in popularity. By 1945,
newspapers had declined to their lowest and continued to drop further alongside continued
consolidation efforts into the 1970 s. While daily circulation declined, chains and printing expenses
grew. The closer we got to the turn of the century and the digital age, readership dropped significantly
as young readers pursued other options for news (Dominick, 2013). ... Show more content on

Bull Terrier: The bull terrier is generally recognized as the dog of General George Patton or as Spuds
McKenzie. This breed is known for its aggression toward other dogs and small animals. They do
however tend to have good relationships with children because they perceive the youngsters
vulnerability as part of the pack they should protect. Many trainers have trained bull terriers in
obedience with good success. Unfortunately, obsessive compulsive behaviors have been noted in this
breed, which can be exhibited as tail chasing, obsessive licking, and

The Stages Of Socialisation
Ever thought about what life would be like if there wasn t any socialising? Have you ever thought
about the effects that socialising has on our lifestyles? Think of a world without WhatsApp, Facebook,
Instagram and Snapchat... Good morning Mrs Lamplough and class. Socialisation is a process in
which a person goes through, where they learn about the culture, belief and values, in order to survive
in society. There are two levels of socialising, the first level is known as primary socialisation. Parents,
siblings and carers play an important role in this stage of socialisation. Their influence involves
speech, values and beliefs. Primary socialisation is probably the most important level of socialisation
as at this stage the child will learn ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Texting does not allow emotions to be conveyed, although texting does allow a response to be thought
about before replying, this does not occur in face to face interactions, as the response is needed
straight away. Speaking to people via texting also does not allow you to see the affect your words have
on the other person. In this way social media has affected our lifestyles in a huge way. Young people
are unable to make proper conversations in face to face situations, or they talk in person, just like they
talk over the phone. This can affect your career, as you will not be able to get a job, because no one
will hire someone who does not speak proper English, or knows how to hold a conversation. Social
media has a positive effect on our lifestyle. For example Google enables quick and easy searches for
jobs. Requirements needed are listed, which are easily readable and can save time, by eliminating
countless interviews, which you are not qualified enough for. Interviews can be done over platforms
such as Skype, which enables people to be interviewed by employers across the

Each of these clusters are interrelated one problem causing another problem for Mr. Wilson. To start
with this case study, Mr. Wilson presents a recurrent bipolar depression, for his welfares, the recovery
model will be beneficial to manage Mr. Wilson s clinical management within advanced nursing care.
The three relevant symptom clusters are associated with the patient s life experiences. The principle of
recovery model (RM) is that each individual consumer is perceived as unique and personal especially,
the model emphases on what the individual consumer can do, how she/he can regain control her/his
recovery when the person experiences mental distress, therefore, mental health professional facilitate
patient centered management and function based goal achievement (McKenna, 2011). Three
interrelated components for promoting recovery consist of facilitating personal adaptation, promoting
access and inclusion and developing hope inspiring relationship (Bennett, Breeze, Neilson, 2014).
This model has been applied to Mr. Wilson and to some extent, utilizing patient centred care and
notion of recovery guides the management of his symptoms. For example Mr. Wilson would regularly
sit down with me to discuss his immediate and long term needs. I orientate him to what he needs for
his daily living activities. The interdisciplinary team model also provides a guide to organize his care
from each of the disciplines. These include occupational therapist, an

The Effect Of Temperature On The Rate Of Carbon Dioxide...
The purpose of the experiment is to test the effect of five different temperatures on the rate of carbon
dioxide production in yeast. So, to test this method five fermentation tubes were filled with glucose
and yeast mixture, after that they were placed in water to see which one yielded the most carbon
dioxide. The results that were produced concluded that yeast can produce carbon dioxide more
efficiently with a temperate of approximately 45 degrees Celsius. The carbon dioxide production was
tracked in the fermentation of yeast. Carbon dioxide production was also different in different
temperatures.
1. Introduction
Temperature changes have a great and intense effect on living things. It s indicated through research
that yeast makes more carbon dioxide when in higher temperature rather than the lower temperature.
Although, it makes more carbon dioxide in high temperature it is possible that the temperature would
be so hot that it will end up destroying the yeast cells which will cause it to have less carbon dioxide.
The reason for this is because of the rate of chemical reactions increasing along with increasing
temperature.
When one refers to the temperature of a system, it is described as the measure of the average kinetic
energy of the particles in a sample of matter. Increases in the temperature of a system results from
increases in the kinetic energy of the system. The higher the temperature, the more energy atoms have,
causing them to move more rapidly. In the same

The Pros And Cons Of British Mercantilism
Mercantilism is a series of de facto economic policies and practices that sought to strengthen one state
economically and politically, to the disadvantage of others which involved the utilisation of the
interventionist role of the state in the economy and foreign trade that when executed properly, greatly
enhanced a ruler s ability to wage war. Mercantilist policies maintain that a ruler s goal is to increase
the state wealth; state wealth which is equivalent to the stock of precious metal and is a direct measure
of state power. However, many states did not have their own bullion mines and thus had to engage in
favourable foreign trade to increase state power. Additionally, Heckscher asserts that foreign trade is a
zero sum game and through ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This was preferred over other foreign trade because the colonies were subject to English Mercantilist
regulation making them easier to control. British economic growth depended upon increased and
balanced external trade with exports exceeding imports thus increasing precious metal supplies.
British Mercantilists prefer colonial dependencies to independent foreign countries in seeking sources
of foreign supply. If the state could not free itself completely from trade with foreign nations, it sought
to control that trade in its own interest as much as possible . Adam Smith asserts that the thirteen
colonies greatly aided British capital accumulation in the 150 years they were subject to the
regulations of English Mercantilism. Smith argues that real wealth is a product of the exchangeable
value from land and labour which, during the 17th 19th centuries was increasing. Britain used the
American capital of land and labour and their own manufacturing capabilities to increase state wealth.
Therefore, The state of our North American colonies, and of the trade which they carried on with
Great Britain ... may serve as a proof that this is by no means an impossible supposition . The growth
of colonial land and labour allowed for American large scale farming and low cost raw material
exportation. England manufactured raw materials

Physicality Of Football Essay
Football is a very unique sport, especially to Americans. It is almost exclusively played in the United
States, at least thats where the most religious fans live. There are roughly 17 million people who tune
in to watch an average football game every weekend, and each stadium holds roughly 100,000 people
which is regularly filled with fans. So what is it that fans of football love so much about the sport, is it
the connection to a cities team, the lovableness of the teams mascot, the fact that football is one of the
last true contact sports, or the attractive cheerleaders. While I might argue that it s hard to complain
while watching the cheerleaders, when most people are asked what aspect of football keeps them
coming back, they often answer that they love the physicality of the sport. While football has always
been a sport of contact, physicality, and force, over the years they have gone to great lengths to add
rules in order to help protect the players from devastating injuries. Some of the measures that have
been taken include face mask penalties, horse collar penalties, and a relatively new penalty for
targeting. While football leagues such as the National Football League have taken great strides to help
prevent devastating injuries in the game the Americans hold so dear to their hearts, I would argue that
rather than decrease injuries, football has actually seen a significant increase in serious injuries due to
the fact that players feel the need to overexert

Korean Creation Myth
Cheonjiwang Bonpuli
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Cheonjiwang Bonpuli (Hangul: 천지왕 본풀이, literally Chronicles of Cheonjiwang ) is a
Korean creation myth, traditionally retold by shamans in the small island ofJeju Island. It is one of the
best known Creation myths in the Korean peninsula, and many key elements in the Cheonjiwang
Bonpuli can be found in the creation myths of the mainland.[1]
Plot[edit]
Unlike its title, the supreme deity Cheonjiwang (Hangul: 천지왕), whose name literally means King
of the Heavens and the Earth , serves mainly as a secondary character. The protagonists of the myth
are instead the two sons of Cheonjiwang, Daebyeol and Sobyeol.
The myth starts with the creation of the world, when the sky and the ... Show more content on

Cheonjiwang put an iron ring on Sumyeong Jangja s head (For similar concepts, see Journey to the
West), and Sumyeong Jangja experienced extreme pain, as if his head was exploding. Whatever he
did, the iron ring did not get off Sumyeong Jangja s head. Finally, in despair, Sumyeong Jangja
ordered a slave to ease his pain by decapitating him. The surprised Cheonjiwang murmured Amazing.
and took the iron ring off Sumyeong Jangja s head. He then continued on his way.
Cheonjiwang did not return to the sky immediately, but spent the night in Baekju Halmeom (literally
Grandmother Baekju ) s cottage. The bright eared Cheonjiwang heard someone brushing her hair with
a jade comb in the next room, and asked Baekju Halmeom who she was. Baekju Halmeom answered
that it was her only daughter, Chongmyeong Agi. (Hangul: 총명아기, literally Wise Girl ).
Chongmyeong Agi was fairer than the Seonnyeo, the heavenly fairies. Cheonjiwang asked both
Chongmyeong Agi and Baekju Halmeom if he could have sexual intercourse with Chongmyeong Agi,
and both decided to accept. Thus, that night, Chongmyeong Agi became Chongmyeong Buin (Hangul:
총명부인, literally Wise Wife ), as she had experienced love.
Cheonjiwang stayed with his new wife for four days, then left. He gave Chongmyeong Buin two
gourd seeds, and advised her to name their children Daebyeol (Hangul: 대별, literally Large Star ) and
Sobyeol (Hangul: 소별, literally Small Star ).

  • 2. An Analysis Of Peter Pan, By J. M. Golding s I Die... J. M. Barrie, the author of Peter Pan, said: To die would be an awfully big adventure. I believe it would be. I have had many experiences with almost dying. I have had many experiences where my life had flashed before my eyes. April 4th, 2014, I almost died 27 times. On that date, I looked death right in the face, and laughed at it. In the summer, I was supposed to go to a girls camp for my church. There were a few requirements we had to pass off before going. One of them was a 3 mile hike and a camping trip. We decided to hit 2 birds with 1 stone. So we set a date to go camping with the girls who were going to camp. There were about 16 girls who decided they would go. We set off on our 1 night trip on April 4th, 2014. It started off normal. A regular trail through the woods. The path started to get thinner and thinner as we walked on it. We then got to a part where we had to go over a log that was partly hanging over a chasm. I peered over the edge to see thousands of sharp rocks and a large pool of rushing water. After 3 girls had gone over the log safely, it was my turn. I slowly put my right leg over the enormous log. I had made sure to steady myself before putting my left leg over. After I had done so, I threw my left leg over and sat on the log. Then I put my right foot on the ground. I thought I was safe, but my left foot s, shoelace got caught on the rugged wood. I pulled with force, but that was a bad idea. I got it undone, but that force threw me off balance ... • 3. Ageism As A Diversity Issue Essay Introduction Ageism is surprisingly common in Australia, particularly within the workforce. The definition of ageism in working life according to Furunes and Mykletun (2009), is the stereotypes, prejudice, and discrimination against ageing workers, based on chronological age or age categories such as older worker or senior . This phenomenon has seen older workers increasingly subjected to biases and discriminatory practices when seeking and maintaining employment. Hence, the importance for organisations to understand current and trending issues on age discrimination, in order to draft and implement, effective, and relevant policies. The purpose of this report is to provide an in depth analysis on ageism as a diversity issue in the workplace and to recommend organisational policies that recognise older workers as a strategic advantage. This analysis will focus on literature relevant to the recruitment and development of older workers. To begin with, this report will consider the context of ageism in Australia providing a deeper understanding of the diversity issue. Furthermore, an extensive discussion on the positive and negative age stereotypes of older workers will follow. The report will then review literature regarding organisational practices towards recruitment and development from an age related perspective. Finally, recommendations will ensue, providing organisational best practise suggestions to create age positive recruitment and training experiences. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Your parents ask, What would you like for your graduation party? Should you lie and tell what you want...or tell them you are failing? Immanuel Kant defines lying as an intentional untruthful declaration to another person . Everyone lies in this society that we live in, from kids to the elderly. So why stress about it? Lying is always justified because it is up to each individual to choose what to believe to do except for when you are putting other in harm s way. From my point of view, lying can protect the feeling and lives of others. For example, in the article, It s the Truth by NBCNEWS.com, Cohen states that, ...it is sometimes a moral duty... you re lying to protect someone from serious harm... • 5. Tim Peake Summary The Christian Science Monitor article, PUT THE TITLE HERE, PUT THE LINK HERE, discusses the dangers of space travel with astronaut Tim Peake. According to Peake, a window on the International Space Station (ISS) was damaged by a paint chip sized piece of metal. He contends that the ISS can withstand this type of small hit by debris. However, a strike by larger Space debris could be hazardous. In fact, the ISS had to do a planned maneuver to get out of the way of a larger piece of debris. For many years debris from inoperable satellites has accumulated in Earth s orbit. The trash left from these satellites is posing an increasing threat to current missions. In the year 1998, The National Research Council (NRC) of the National Academy of Sciences equated the danger from space debris to that of a spacecraft s launch or reentry. And since that time, the amount of debris in space has more than doubled. Another issue that contributes to the danger of the debris, is that it is traveling in space at 17,500 miles per hour. At this rate, even a small piece of debris could cause serious damage. Consequently, there have been many ideas put forth about how to rid Space of all ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Also, various companies and countries will wish to choose their own way to manage the decomposition of their spacecraft. In the opinion article, Athlete as Agent of Change , written by Lonnie Bunch and David Skorton, it describes how athletes are basically representatives and the voice of the people. It is because of their fame and accomplishments that people look up to them for inspiration. It is because of this that athletes should use their fame to promote a political agenda. Robert Louis Stevenson s Dr. Jekyll and Mary Shelley s Frankenstein Both Robert Louis Stevenson s Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde and Mary Shelley s Frankenstein tell cautionary tales of scientists abusing their creative powers to exist in another sphere where they cannot be directly blamed for their actions. Though Frankenstein s creation is a Creature distinct from his creator while Dr. Jekyll metamorphoses into Mr. Hyde, the double of each protagonist progressively grows more violent throughout his story. However, Frankenstein cannot muster the same emotion: I remembered only, and it was with a bitter anguish that I reflected on it, to order that my chemical instruments should be packed to go with me (149). Frankenstein also has a penchant for working alone; like Dr. Jekyll, he is emotionally detached from a society that expects him to fulfill various obligations, and he accordingly responds with physical detachment. In Butler s Gender Trouble she talks about how power not only regulates but also forms who we are as individuals. Foucault discusses the concept of biopolitics, which links biological processes, such as the reproductive process which can be be controlled via birth control, to economic or political power, for example when the government controls what kind of birth control is legal and acceptable and economically they make millions of dollars on the birth control pill and condoms. Foucault states that this power comes from discourse of a subject. In The History of Sexuality he focuses on the myth that sexual repression occurred during the Victorian era. At this time the catholic churches made sex and sexual desires sinful and something that needed to be told in confession in order for the individual to repent. Due to the need to confess people were forced to think about their desires and after confessing the priest s judgement and language that was used turned the individual desires into discourse. This time in history was the way to sexuality becoming controlled. The information that was gained gave power to the priests to make these individuals repent and feel sinful for having these desires. Dominus Iesus did not say that Christ s Church is the Catholic Church because other religions share some truths in accordance to the full truth that the Church proclaims to have. If the document were to say that Christ s Church is the Catholic Church it would exclude other religions and deny truths that exist with the Church s inclusivist views. By increasing the enzymes produced in plants, the plant is unaffected by the herbicide (Monsanto Crossroads). With the insertion of the Roundup resistant and Bt genes, the negative environmental impacts from agriculture can be reduced. One way environmental damage can be reduced is by decreasing pesticide use. According to Monsanto, Bollgard cotton, a variety resistant to bollworms, was used in 13% of the total cotton crop in 1996. Sixty percent of those growers used no insecticide, most others only used one application. This is compared to an average of 4 to 6 applications. The reduced applications saved a quarter million gallons of insecticide. Monsanto has also developed potatoes with resistance to the Colorado potato beetle. Farmers using this new variety reported eliminating 1 5 insecticide applications. The total reduction in applications of insecticides was between 33% 42% over conventional methods (Biotech Benefits). By inserting the Bt gene into the plant cell, only the insects that are damaging the crop are killed. Conversely, when the Bt gene is used in a pesticide spray many more insects that may have been beneficial to the crop are killed (ESA Position Statement). The Crime Of Computer Forensics Computer Forensics In a world where technology is increasingly becoming the way of life, it was only a matter of time before crime was no longer just in the streets but happening online as well. Criminals now get a new approach to carry out their crimes with the use of computers. Since technology is more like a murder mystery than catching the bad guy in the act, a new discipline of forensics needed to be put into place. This is known as computer forensics. Forensic science is any science used for the purpose of law. In the case of computer forensics it is the discipline that combines elements of law and computer science to collect and analyze data from computer systems, networks, wireless communications, and storage devices in a way that is admissible as evidence in a court of law (U.S. Cert, 2008). Meaning if you do something illegal on the Internet it can be found. Since the widespread use of computers, computer crime has caused an increase in computer investigations during the twenty first century. Some reasons for investigation include: identity theft, such as stolen social security and credit card numbers, to find evidence of a cheating spouse, to investigate hackers on a computer system, to find evidence of child pornography, and much more. This can be seen in documents three and four, where Japan is having some trepidations over industrialized nations involvement in climate change versus developing nations. It can especially be seen in document three where they clearly have different perspectives on where they see climate change in the long term. Japan is also skeptical of many of the emission trading s the United States takes part in because they are not quite sure how it would work and what position they would play. The Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs was particularly worried about China s role in this agreement also, they did not want to carry out strict reductions while China continued to pollute the air around them. In comparison, document nine also centers around the United States as it tries to get the most out of the present climate change agreement, by working with Ambassador Raul A Estrada Oyuela. Documents three and four are more focused on the beginning of various climate change treaties the United States was trying to conceive. Write Your Own Rock Song In most instances, a listener strives to find a song that is simultaneously culturally and socially conscious, while having a listenability that allows the song to be played at any time or any place. For the above song, I took a pointedly socially and culturally approach to the socioeconomic inequalities that persist in the United States, using subtle and themes of freedom and hardship, while concurrently using the not so subtle theme of class differences to convey the differences between social classes in our society. The lyrics provide the potential listener with a juxtaposition of someone who invariably questions their place in society in comparison with an individual who seems to have everything they could ever need or want, hence the inclusion of (Mercedes) Benz in the second verse. The lyrics are written in simple verse form and intentionally have the last two lines of the first verse rhyming with each other, as well as the first two lines of the second verse rhyming with one another. The rhyming is meant to emphasis the restraints that lower class people have in terms of social mobility and the freedom those in upper classes enjoy on a daily basis. The end and Benz creates a slant rhyme that resembles the perpetual cycle of poverty in contrast with someone who is sad about their luxury car being out of commission. Given the form of the lyrics and their social connections, the options for music selection and instrumentation varied across genre and sound. For the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

After Shils coined the concept of primordialist, late anthropologist, Clifford Greetz advanced the subject and spoke of the overpowering and ineffable quality attaching to certain kinds of tie, which the participants tended to see as exterior, coercive, and given. What Is The Decline Of Newspaper In The 1930 s The early 1900 s could be called the consolidation era as technological changes and competition for advertising dollars increased the competitive drive for circulation numbers. Complementing the glitz of the roaring twenties, a new form of journalism emerged that appealed to a different type of reader with its illustrious smaller size. But, as economic conditions worsened into the 1930 s, circulation increased while revenues did not. This is mostly due to advertising dollars being split between radio and television as both gained in popularity. Eventually, she reaches a crossroads both literally and metaphorically called Whitcross, which leads her to a seemingly random village, wherein she s (semi miraculously) reunited with three cousins she never knew she had: St. John, Diana, and Mary Rivers. This discovery is especially important to Jane, considering that she s almost never had anyone she could sincerely call family, let alone love and endear as such. One personal tragedy (i.e. regarding Rochester), it seems, is met with an equally happy turn of chance lose a lover, gain a family. But if all of that isn t questionably serendipitous enough on its own, it only gets ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Texting does not allow emotions to be conveyed, although texting does allow a response to be thought about before replying, this does not occur in face to face interactions, as the response is needed straight away. Speaking to people via texting also does not allow you to see the affect your words have on the other person. In this way social media has affected our lifestyles in a huge way. Young people are unable to make proper conversations in face to face situations, or they talk in person, just like they talk over the phone. This can affect your career, as you will not be able to get a job, because no one will hire someone who does not speak proper English, or knows how to hold a conversation. Social media has a positive effect on our lifestyle. For example Google enables quick and easy searches for jobs. Requirements needed are listed, which are easily readable and can save time, by eliminating countless interviews, which you are not qualified enough for. To start with this case study, Mr. Wilson presents a recurrent bipolar depression, for his welfares, the recovery model will be beneficial to manage Mr. Wilson s clinical management within advanced nursing care. The three relevant symptom clusters are associated with the patient s life experiences. The principle of recovery model (RM) is that each individual consumer is perceived as unique and personal especially, the model emphases on what the individual consumer can do, how she/he can regain control her/his recovery when the person experiences mental distress, therefore, mental health professional facilitate patient centered management and function based goal achievement (McKenna, 2011). Three interrelated components for promoting recovery consist of facilitating personal adaptation, promoting access and inclusion and developing hope inspiring relationship (Bennett, Breeze, Neilson, 2014). This model has been applied to Mr. Wilson and to some extent, utilizing patient centred care and notion of recovery guides the management of his symptoms. • 44. The Effect Of Temperature On The Rate Of Carbon Dioxide... The purpose of the experiment is to test the effect of five different temperatures on the rate of carbon dioxide production in yeast. So, to test this method five fermentation tubes were filled with glucose and yeast mixture, after that they were placed in water to see which one yielded the most carbon dioxide. The results that were produced concluded that yeast can produce carbon dioxide more efficiently with a temperate of approximately 45 degrees Celsius. The carbon dioxide production was tracked in the fermentation of yeast. Carbon dioxide production was also different in different temperatures. 1. Introduction Temperature changes have a great and intense effect on living things. It s indicated through research that yeast makes more carbon dioxide when in higher temperature rather than the lower temperature. Although, it makes more carbon dioxide in high temperature it is possible that the temperature would be so hot that it will end up destroying the yeast cells which will cause it to have less carbon dioxide. The reason for this is because of the rate of chemical reactions increasing along with increasing temperature. When one refers to the temperature of a system, it is described as the measure of the average kinetic energy of the particles in a sample of matter. Increases in the temperature of a system results from increases in the kinetic energy of the system. The higher the temperature, the more energy atoms have, causing them to move more rapidly. • 45. The Pros And Cons Of British Mercantilism Mercantilism is a series of de facto economic policies and practices that sought to strengthen one state economically and politically, to the disadvantage of others which involved the utilisation of the interventionist role of the state in the economy and foreign trade that when executed properly, greatly enhanced a ruler s ability to wage war. Mercantilist policies maintain that a ruler s goal is to increase the state wealth; state wealth which is equivalent to the stock of precious metal and is a direct measure of state power. However, many states did not have their own bullion mines and thus had to engage in favourable foreign trade to increase state power. Additionally, Heckscher asserts that foreign trade is a zero sum game and through ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This was preferred over other foreign trade because the colonies were subject to English Mercantilist regulation making them easier to control. British economic growth depended upon increased and balanced external trade with exports exceeding imports thus increasing precious metal supplies. British Mercantilists prefer colonial dependencies to independent foreign countries in seeking sources of foreign supply. If the state could not free itself completely from trade with foreign nations, it sought to control that trade in its own interest as much as possible . Adam Smith asserts that the thirteen colonies greatly aided British capital accumulation in the 150 years they were subject to the regulations of English Mercantilism. Smith argues that real wealth is a product of the exchangeable value from land and labour which, during the 17th 19th centuries was increasing. Britain used the American capital of land and labour and their own manufacturing capabilities to increase state wealth. Therefore, The state of our North American colonies, and of the trade which they carried on with Great Britain ... may serve as a proof that this is by no means an impossible supposition . • 46. Physicality Of Football Essay Football is a very unique sport, especially to Americans. It is almost exclusively played in the United States, at least thats where the most religious fans live. There are roughly 17 million people who tune in to watch an average football game every weekend, and each stadium holds roughly 100,000 people which is regularly filled with fans. So what is it that fans of football love so much about the sport, is it the connection to a cities team, the lovableness of the teams mascot, the fact that football is one of the last true contact sports, or the attractive cheerleaders. While I might argue that it s hard to complain while watching the cheerleaders, when most people are asked what aspect of football keeps them coming back, they often answer that they love the physicality of the sport. While football has always been a sport of contact, physicality, and force, over the years they have gone to great lengths to add rules in order to help protect the players from devastating injuries. Some of the measures that have been taken include face mask penalties, horse collar penalties, and a relatively new penalty for targeting. While football leagues such as the National Football League have taken great strides to help prevent devastating injuries in the game the Americans hold so dear to their hearts, I would argue that rather than decrease injuries, football has actually seen a significant increase in serious injuries due to the fact that players feel the need to overexert ...
