Outsourced Data and Cloud Computing
As we know that cloud is a drastic data center for outsourced data. Cloud is a familier tool because
of its useful architectural tools. Data sharing is another common habituated property to the
common people. These data sharing include video data in social networks, this was done regularly
through mobile devices like smart phones, tablets, laptops etc. we focused on demands on video
traffic over mobile networks. Mobile network consist limited bandwidth and long buffering time. To
overcome these issues we suppose adaptive mobile video streaming, efficient social video sharing.
These two approaches shows scalable results in social network environment.
Introduction
Cloud computing is the provision of dynamically scalable and often virtualized resources as a
services over the internet Users need not have knowledge of, expertise in, or control over the
technology infrastructure in the cloud that supports them. Cloud computing represents a major
change in how we store information and run applications. Instead of hosting apps and data on an
individual desktop computer, everything is hosted in the cloud an assemblage of computers and
servers accessed via the Internet. Cloud computing exhibits the following key characteristics: 1.
Agility improves with users ability to re provision technological infrastructure resources. 2. Multi
tenancy enables sharing of resources and costs across a large pool of users thus allowing for:

Differences Between The Taliban And The Taliban
It all started in 1920 1924 when Al Qaeda supported the Taliban while Nazis were supported by a
lot of germans.During the Third Reich, the Nazis were against a few writers, artist and so had
destroyed all their work as it was degraded. Whilst the Taliban in the Middle East were focusing on
destroying religious monuments. Both of them had the same perspective, To Liquidate things that
did not represent or respect their faith. The one thing they had in common was ruling others through
violence and intimidation. They were the best at it.
Taliban was an Islamic Fundamental Political movement in Afghanistan. While they had the power
of Afghanistan they had imposed strict laws which were called the Islamic laws.Taliban mostly
consisted of Afghan tribal men. Soon after that Al Qaeda set of to support them. Saudi Arabia
supported them financially, but Taliban use that wealth to wipe out the afghan civilians.
The Taliban had ruled Afghanistan from between 1996 to 2001. The primary act the world didn t
like about Afghanistan was their treatment to the woman and their involvement in terrorism. They
are represented by a huge forces of armed men. In 1994, a group of well trained men were chosen
by Pakistan and sent to Taliban.Their role was to Protect a fleet of men who were trying to open a

Taliban s violent treatment against the woman is; a woman wearing nail paint had her fingertips

The Impact Of Poor Nutrition On The Student S Achievements.
The Impact of Poor Nutrition On the Student s Achievements
Abstract
Chapter1: Introduction
The ability of the students in the schools to learn is being hindered by foods that are widely
available in the schools which have affected the academic performance. The state of boards in the
schools have been in a mission to improve the education systems in schools which in return will
improve the academic performance of the students. To achieve this, they have to find the reasons as
to why the students do not perform well or the things that hinder the performance of the students in
schools. One of the areas that should be looked at is the kind of nutritional substances that are eaten
by most of the school going children. There are national and ... Show more content on

These programs have been of great benefit to the students because their school attendance has
improved and their academic performance have improved. Poor nutrition in students does not only
affect their academic performance but also affects their social skills, cognitive development,
learning and social behavior. However, there are some steps of actions that can be taken that will
help to solve the problem of poor nutrition in schools. Some of this action may involve central
themes including creativity, collaboration, and patience. Fixing the issue of poor nutrition among
students will also help in tacking the health constituents that majority of the students suffer from
such as obesity, undernourishment, and even eating disorders which have raised concern in the
United States of America.
The issue of providing students from low income families with nutritious meals has been debated
for many years. As from the period of the Great Depression some schools started to offer their
students with lunch and this had two major goals. The first goal of the school lunch program was to
ensure that students from low income families did not have poor nutrition by giving them meals
with nutritional benefits. On the other hand, the second goal of the school lunch program was to
make good use of the surplus agricultural commodities that the government had bought from

Fear Of Tyranny
Before the year 1787, we were all in fear of tyranny. Thinking things would go back to like they
were in England, with the king having complete power over everyone and everything, a group of
delegates joined together to help calm these fears. They grouped in the summer of 1787, in the
great land of Philadelphia, and wrote everything down. They came up with laws and rules and
government ideas and formed it into what we call the Constitution of America (Background Essay).
But how did this help keep us from tyranny? Well, in the list of laws, we also had rules for our
government and how it would work. They split our government into three branches, the Legislative
Branch, the Executive Branch, and the Judicial Branch. Now, these branches work together

Earlwood Summary
Earlwood Summary
Earlwood is an unspoiled, hidden gem of Sydney that embraces the Greek culture, but is also a
multicultural community. This suburb offers large blocks of land for residential or commercial
development, unlike most of the surrounding suburbs, which makes it a rare commodity indeed.
Inside the confines of Earlwood, you will find a small shopping precinct, plentiful parks and
playgrounds, rare bushlands, and a beautiful cohesion of food, community, culture, trendy cafes,
pizza bars, and natural beauty wrapped up in a setting that brings the old and the new together.
Earlwood is often mistaken for being part of the Inner West, but the Cooks River, the natural
boundary around its outer limits, makes that classification incorrect.

Girrahween Park is situated on The Walk and features a large recreational area along Wolli Creek s
northern bank. You get stunning views of Bardwell Park, Arncliffe, and Turrella from this park.
This park is heritage listed and is part of the rare remnant of bushlands in the region. There is a
hiking trail, picnic area, barbeque area, outdoor rock climbing facilities, and a lot of beautiful
plant life and some native birds to watch. The locals consider this park to be its hidden oasis in the
suburb.
Waterworth Park, on Bayview Avenue just opposite of Gough Whitlam Park, is a nice local park
with barbeque, picnic, public toilet, and sporting field amenities. It provides a short walk to the
Tempe station. Inside this park is the Cooks River Cycleway, Canterbury Touch Association, and the
Canterbury Velodrome. This was once Wolli Park until it was renamed for Aston Waterworth, city

How are characters presented as disturbed in Macbeth,...
It is important to be able to define what disturbed actually means in order to answer this question
to a high standard of explanation. Disturbed is an adjective and it is the showing of symptoms of
mental illness, severe psychosis and neurosis. It is also useful to consider the audiences of each
poem or play to elaborate on explanations. Macbeth, written by William Shakespeare, is set during
the eleventh century is about the emotional manipulation of individuals and the lust for power and
the upmost authority over a victorious Scotland featuring an Elizabethan audience whereas Robert
Browning s poems, Laboratory and My Last Duchess, is about the overcoming of jealously and
betrayal set during the Victorian era with a Victorian audience.... Show more content on

The fact that Lady Macbeth urges Macbeth to commit sacrilege is, without saying, disturbing
because the King (especially at that time) is Gods representative and killing God just to achieve
power is so insane that you could argue that she is demon possessed . Macbeth and the poem
Laboratory are both similar in terms of the unusual language used, Tomorrow, and tomorrow, and
tomorrow , a quote by Macbeth in his final soliloquy, in act five, scene five, before to his
soliloquy Lady Macbeth had committed suicide which was inevitably an act of sin and therefore
the afterlife would be spend in hell for eternity We ld jump the life to come. But in these cases We
still have judgment here , which meant Macbeth and Lady Macbeth (at least Macbeth) were both
aware that they had committed felonies during their current life including sacrilege giving the idea
that Macbeth was aware of his wrongdoings telling us that Macbeth was not psychotically weak but
instead attempted to improvise the situation so at least he had something to live for. This also gives
the audience sympathy for Macbeth because he is able to rationalize his opinions and justifications.
The persona uses similar unusual language to Macbeth And her breasts and her arms should drop
dead! Stanza six, the repetition of the connective and in the Macbeth and the Laboratory poem is
used to emphasis their feelings and emotions. In addition to this the

Bortons Reflective Framework Model
Using Bortons (1970) reflective framework model, I am going to reflect on an experience I have
had whilst out in practice with the community mental health team in the North of England.
Whilst on placement I noticed there were numerous referrals of individuals with personality
disorder. Whilst in multi disciplinary meeting when we used to get these referrals I would very
often hear people say typical PD or well there is nothing our service can do for them . At these
times, I was concerned for the individual s welfare and when speaking to the services users
myself, I found it difficult due to me having limited experiencing working with individuals who
have a diagnosis of personality disorder (PD). Because of this, I have decided to look up
possible research ideas regarding PD. To see if there was a different type of medications,
therapies and other services which are available to individuals with varied diagnosis of PD. From
my experience and observations of working on acute wards, I found that health care professionals
aren t sure how to treat or mange service users with PD sometimes. According to the American
Psychiatric Association (2001) the primary treatment for personality disorders is psychotherapy,
complemented by pharmacotherapy to treat symptoms during periods of acute decompensation.
Therefore,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Examples Of Rhetorical Devices In A Modest Proposal
USE OF SATIRICAL STRATEGIES IN A MODEST PROPOSAL BY JONOTHAN SWIFT
In his modest proposal, Jonathan Swift uses logical fallacies, repetition, metaphors, humor,
parallelism, sarcasm and satire. The devices are effectively used to examine the attitude of the
rich people towards the poor in the society. Jonathan starts by mocking the mothers for strolling
in the streets begging for alms instead of looking for jobs and putting something on the tables
for children to eat. Jonathan predicts that when the kids grow, they might turn out to be thieves
as nobody taught these kids to earn an honest living. He uses logical fallacies to try and make
the proposal modest though his line of thinking is not correct. He points out that a year old child
is nourishing and wholesome food. That a healthy child is delicious food to be prepared using
any method of food preparation is outrageous. He proposes that 20,000 children preserved for
bleeding purposes. This is dehumanizing children and comparing them to animals. He outlines
how slaughterhouses should be build and butchers be employed to do the slaughtering of children.
In his exaggeration, he goes to the point of saying that the kids will be roasted like pigs. ( ) Swift
also uses irony when he says that there are about 200,000 couples whose wives are just breeders.
( ) He proposes that an arrangement is made to the rear and provide for these children. Here he
compares women to animals because human beings are not bred for commercial purposes. Here he
dehumanizes human beings by use of satire. He gives reasons as to why this is a good idea. First,
he says that the method will decrease the number of useless Catholics in Ireland. Secondly, he
claims that the government will earn from exports of the meat from Ireland. The mothers will
also earn something from this breeding and a burden will be lifted off their shoulders. He also
foresees that the new delicacy will be welcomed in the taverns. The marriage institution will also
be enhanced because mothers will put in more effort in raising the best kids because they would
fetch good prices in the markets. To support his argument, Swift is sarcastic that some parts of
children s body are good for eating. He further notes that these

Definition Of Ginger
When you call someone a ginger, it is an insult. Lots of people do not realize that calling
someone ginger is even remotely close to an insult. They will try and play it as a joke or as a
little nickname. It is like the work nigga , blacks can say it to each other, but other races cannot
say it to them. That is the exact situation with calling a redhead, ginger . You just don t say that to
them, they see it as an insult and a downgrade to what they veiw is the same as you. The term
ginger has a deeper meaning than just a red head. Ginger is a term that means soulless, short,
greedy, despicable, witch, and so much more. Ginger has always meant something different for
ages. Thay were beaten, crucified, and banished way back then.

Kraft Heinz Case Study
Strategic Issues and Actions
Strategy Model
The strategy of Kraft Heinz dramatically changed after the merger in 2015. The new strategy is
considered to be iconoclastic. This is because the new leaders of the company are not reminiscing
in the past or using the former strategies that worked for the company. They did a complete
overhaul to the leadership and the strategies that worked for the company. The new company
objectives are as follows: 1. Profitable sales growth, 2 Best in class margins, and 3. A superior
return of capital. The company will no longer let employees slip in to the cracks and gain a
retirement, it must be earned.
Since 3G Capital is the holding company for Kraft Heinz they follow the meritocracy model set
forth by 3G. Colvin (2017) discussed the fact that those who do good move forward and up,
those that do bad get fired. It is almost biblical Don t be deceived: God is not mocked. For
whatever a man sows he will also reap (Galatians 6:7, Holman Christian Standard Bible). Colvin
explains this when he discusses the new CEO:
Kraft Heinz CEO Ber¬nardo Hees, for example, first became a CEO in 2005 at a company called
All America Latina Logistica, owned by a 3G Capital predecessor. He was then made CEO of
Burger King, a 3G Capital holding since 2010. He moved up to be CEO of Heinz in 2013 and now
of Kraft Heinz.
The infamous company, 3G, uses a private equity strategy, however 3G Capital does not operate as
a traditional private equity corporation.

Shawnee Tribe Research Paper
The Shawnee Tribe, since first encountering Europeans in 1677, the group has encountered issues,
such as population decrease. But as of twenty first century, the tribe has regained a following. For
the most part, the Shawnee have abandoned their nomadic roots. They have taken on modern tasks,
realizing that they would need to keep up with the times in order to survive. Currently occupying
regions of Oklahoma and Missouri, the tribe has split into three large groups, the Absentee
Shawnee, Eastern Shawnee, and Loyal Shawnee. Together, the three groups have around 8,000
members in total. The customs and traditions of the Shawnee have for the most part, been
abandoned by its people. However, the Absentee shows a strong connection with their culture....

The Eastern Shawnee also maintained partial ownership in several oil wells near the reservation.
Each of the groups found ways to prosper, and in doing so, they gained a following. Early 21st
century population estimates indicated some 12,000 individuals of Shawnee relations, by descent
or affiliation. The three main Shawnee groups are striving for economic self sufficiency and they
are meeting their goals. They are better off than many tribes and have better housing, with casinos
helping to fund programs to improve the lives of tribe members and provide employment for some
of their people. In spite of the fact that the Shawnee tribe has encountered firm improvements in the
21st Century, for example, a casino, school, and smoke shop, the tribe has almost deserted their
culture like their language and religions. Tradition is important, but sacrifices must be made in
order to survive. With the sacrifices, the tribe has been able to flourish in the 21st century, andhe
tribe is much better off than other tribes in the

“Religion was more important than politics in the failure...
Religion was more important than politics in the failure of King and Parliament to reach a
settlement. 1646 1649 , Assess the validity of this statement.
In January 1649, King Charles I was executed after being charged with high treason due to political
and religious reasons, some of which contributed to his refusal in accepting the peace settlements
given to him by Parliament. Charles refusal to compromise was supported by the division that had
emerged within Parliament on how to fight the civil war between the Political Presbyterians and
Political Independents. The main factors of the failure to reach a settlement were religion, politics,
Charles intransigence, the New Model Army and the emergence of radical ideas; all of which ...

Still Ireton spoke for the grandees which did include Cromwell and insisted that the franchise
should be restricted to those with a permanent fixed interest in the kingdom as Seel 2 says, and that
the vote should go to those who possessed property or there would otherwise be a disturbance to a
good constitution of the kingdom . This was seen as important because the views of the religious
radicals made settlements more difficult and furthermore increased the tension of division among
those in the army and in parliament.
The politicisation of the New Model Army also played a significant role in the failure to reach a
settlement in the years 1646 to 1649 between Charles and Parliament. What made the army
politicised was the concerns of their wages of ВЈ3 million in arrears and the possibility of being
faced with the charges of committing offences from the First Civil War, as Parliament had not
passed an indemnity act. The army presented Charles with the Heads of The Proposals in 1647,
which links back to religious division in parliament, , under Cromwell and Ireton s influence,
putting forward more stricter terms such as religious toleration was to be more effective to a
wider degree and that the army was to be controlled by parliament for only ten years instead of
twenty, making the army seem like a

Thesis Of Half Earth
Half Earth by E.O. Wilson (2016) deals with the complicated nature of conservation. The book is
clearly written by a man who values every aspect of biodiversity, even to the point of disregarding
certain key arguments against protected areas. This paper will summarize Wilson s argument in
Half Earth, along with his suggested solutions. To close, the concept of making half the earth a
protected area has many positives and negatives that will be evaluated. Leakage, indigenous
populations, and possible habitat fragmentation are all issues around protected areas that will be

George W. Bush And Barbara Pierce Bush Essay
As the eldest son of George H. W. Bush and Barbara Pierce Bush, George Walker Bush was born

Yale. By the time George was two, the family had moved to West Texas, where his father started
working in the oil industry There his father made a fortune in the oil business. When the Bush
family first moved to Midland, they bought a house at 405 East Maple, among a cluster of tiny

Cure Pharmaceutical Companies
Pharmaceutical Companies Against A Cure
Through the years rumors have swarmed over the accusations that there is actually a cure for the
different types of cancer. However, based on research there seems to be a notable profitable gain
within certain pharmaceutical companies, some assume that these companies value money more
than offering a permanent cure. Thus making it hard to believe that pharmaceutical companies are
in favor of offering medicines that cure certain types of cancer but instead prolong it. This makes
pharmaceutical companies feel as if they are operating under a more Jekyll and Hyde type of
business standard.

This process of delay by drug companies is called, evergreening and once again proves the point
that money overrides a person s quality of life or life in itself. Proven in 2013, pharmaceutical
companies actually got the US Supreme Court to allow them to pay these generic drug
companies in order to delay the release of certain generic medications for some time, after the
patent for medication expires. This allows pharmaceutical companies more time to profit off of
their name brand medications (Belk). In fact, pharmaceutical companies paid the FDA around
$712 million dollars in 2013 for prescription drugs user fees which in return helped the FDA in the

Selfishness In Macbeth
Macbeth by William Shakespeare is the story of how one mans hubris destroys him. From it, we
can extrapolate and comment on how in society people have a choice. We can live a life of
altruism, valour and nobility or one fuelled by ambition, greed and violence. Macbeths journey
from the former to the later showcases to the audience the dangers of selfishness. It prompts us
to question our view of life do we succumb to the false promises of evil, as tempting as they are,
or do we remain defiant and true to ourselves. Shakespeare s play is a very clear warning against
listening to the dark forces that are constantly around us. In the initial scenes of the play,
Shakespeare creates a very deliberate first impression of Macbeth and the... Show more content on

It contains the ominous line the greatest is behind . These words, though ambiguous, suggest to
the audience that that Macbeth believes the greatest has already been achieved (i.e. it is his
destiny to be king) so the next steps will be easier. The next steps include getting rid of Duncan.
Through his aside he describes to the audience the thoughts running through his head. He is
battling with his innate goodness if good, why do I yield to that suggestion whose horrible
image doth unfix my hair and make his heart knock at his ribs . His language reveals that he is
considering murdering king Duncan, though he would loathe doing it. However at the end of
the aside Macbeth decides not to follow through with the murder if chance will have me king,
why chance may crown me without my stir and instead leave it to chance as he knows he should
be loyal to king Duncan our duties are to your throne . From this aside the audience learns that
Macbeth wants greatness to be his but the horribleness of murder and his loyalty to the throne are
preventing him. At this point Macbeth is still a good man even though he is flawed. He is aware
of his own ambition but is not allowing to undermine his integrity. An aside is also used following
a meeting between Duncan, Macbeth and Banquo. In this scene Shakespeare uses dramatic irony
for when Duncan refers to the traitor Cawdor ne says he was a gentleman upon which I built an
absolute trust . This foreshadows how

So, You Re Planning On A Media Room Or Dedicated Home Theater
So, you re planning on a media room or dedicated home theater room. You need to know everything
about home theater seating. This guide will educate the home theater buyer on how to select and
purchase home theater seating.
Home Theater Room Dimensions:
The first thing a buyer needs to do is measure the theater room in it s entirety. Top four
considerations when buying home theater furniture.
The width of the viewing screen. The optimum viewing distance is 1.5 to 2 times the width of
your viewing screen. After you have decided this, you now know where to start your first row of
seats. Should I put a second row of seats in my theater? A second row may need a raised platform
at least 7 inches in order to see over the front row ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The advantage to these seats are that you can fit more of them in a limited space than recliners.
The most common use is placing these seats on a second row platform in home theater, apartment
building theaters, condo association theaters and home theaters that want to achieve the movie
theater look. Fixed theater seating is not as comfortable as recliners but it has its place in some
home theaters. The trend with apartment and condo complexes is to build a community theater for
the residents. This provides an amenity for community living. In this case, movie theater seating
makes sense so you can fit larger numbers of people in a smaller space. The viewing time is
usually limited to a few hours at a time versus home theaters where people tend to use for tv, movie
and gaming which extends the time utlization of the seats.
Pre Built Home Theater Seating Vs Special Order Seating
Pre Built Home Theater Seating For customers on a limited budget with limited time for delivery.
Pre built seating is seating that is normally in stock. The seating is pre built theater seating with
limited color choices. The most common color available in pre built seating is black leather/vinyl or
black leatherette. Most pre built seating is manual recline. What you see is what you get with pre
built seating. Special Order or Custom Theater Seating For customers with a little better budget that

I never really knew my grandpa as well as I would have liked. He was already an old, old man by

age and ailing health. So I m not really going to talk about my memories of him. Instead, I m
going to try to share his memories and the memories of those that knew him. In 1920, Richard
Edmund Howard was born into a poor household in Westhoughton, a dreary little coal mining
town in England s north. As a boy, he attended the local parish school and sang in the church choir
on Sundays. He spoke of chasing the local girls up and down the main street and, when he wasn t

Intellectual Property ( Ip ) Is Everywhere
Intellectual Property (IP) is everywhere. IP is inventions. IP is literary and artistic works. IP is
designs or symbols. IP is names and images used in commerce. Almost everything is IP. These
things can be protected by patent, copyright, service mark, or trademark. These topics are very
complicated; the consolidated version of US patentlaws and rules is over 200 pages long. While
there are many good things about IP protection, there are also many unnecessary problems with it
that should be changed. Some of these problems include IP education, and the lack of it, the time
frame that these protections span, and the major lack of solid international laws. In most grade
schools and high schools, the only IP protection education is your English teachers telling you not
to plagiarize copyrighted works, or a business class may go into it a little. The majority of patent
and copyrighteducation is in law schools but it is important to all of us, even if we don t want to
go into law, that we know these laws. Everybody is affected by IP, everybody creates IP, and
everybody is a copyright holder. Many people don t know that any original work is copyrighted
from the moment it is created in a tangible space, such as paper, film, or silicon chip, no registration
necessary. Copyrightable works include literary works, musical compositions, films, software
programs, or paintings. Patents cover inventions, ideas, designs, and compositions of matter. To get

Prefiguration In Calovary
A.Interpretive Process (pre figuration, configuration, and re figuration)
If God s wider presence is real on the earth in cultural artifacts like Calvary, how do we identity or

and Narrative, Paul Ricoeur links Aristotle s characterization of narrative and suggests three stages
of interpretation. He calls them mimesis1 (prefiguration), minesis2 (configuration), and mimesis3
(refiguration). Ricoeur states, A prefigured time becomes a refigured time through the mediation of
a configured time. Mimesis1 describes that human acting is always already prefigured with certain
basic competencies. So for a prefiguration of Calvary, I will talk about ... Show more content on

A Plot of Calvary
In this section, I will first outline the plot of Calvary. Then I will point out that there are two major
themes in the film. The first one is the human side of a Catholic priest. The second one is the
Catholic Church.
Calvary opens with the line from Augustine, Do not despair; one of the thieves was saved. Do
not presume; one of the thieves was damned. John Michael McDonagh attempts to tell a story of
Father James Lavelle (Brendan Gleeson) in tension and in darkness. The story starts in a
confessional, where Father James hears the voice of an obscured penitent about his story. A
priest had raped him since he was seven. Now he is going to kill Father James at the beach one
week, because Father James is a good priest. With full knowledge of Father James innocence, he
explains that killing a good priest would catch more attention than killing a bad one. After all, the
abuser is dead. As a priest of a small rural parish in Streedah Ireland, Father James knows who is
behind the screen, but we, the viewers, do not. The film invites us to participate in a not yet solved
mystery, who is the killer? Could it be the butcher, the atheist doctor, the mechanic, or the
bartender? In Calvary, all of them have harassed Father James and seem to have tension with the

Monday was a day that first amendment rights were tested at The University of Missouri. On

Click says, Yeah, I know, that s a really good one; I m a communication faculty, and I really get

arguing with Click. The journalism department said this, We applaud studentjournalists who were

Evaluate the Significance of Agrippina s Marriages in Her...
Agrippina the Younger s three marriages were significant in her rise to prominence as they all
served her political advancement; protection from enemies, fortune and eventually, power in
politics. Her first marriage was to Gnaeus Domitius Ahenobarbus, a man seventeen years her senior,
described as a wholly despicable character (Suetonius). Her second marriage was to Gaius Sallustius
Passienus Crispus, cut short by his death, but gaining her immense fortune. Her third and final
marriage was to her uncle, Emperor Claudius, giving her the political power she craved, just as her
mother did before her.

was enacted in principle and practice. Tacitus says that their marriage in AD49 marked a real
turning point as Agrippina acquired power beyond her wildest dreams.
Claudius, as emperor, was told it was politically necessary to have a partner, upon Messalina s
death, to help function and protect the Principate, one of few reasons for his marriage to
Agrippina. It was Pallas who presented Agrippina s case (as she was an eligible woman)
convincingly. Claudius could not ignore her ambitious nature, the fact she was politically skilled,
and importantly; a woman of the Julian bloodline. Agrippina s motives were concentrated solely on
herself, and her son, Nero. Agrippina married her uncle in hope that Nero would inherit the
Principate. She wanted to promote her son to become emperor (Suetonius), and aspired for
political power for herself in regards to the Principate and Claudius. The power gave her the
ability to dispose of any enemies who got in her way.

The Religious Conversions of King Clovis I and Emperor...
Throughout history, there have been many instances of leaders converting to new religions, but
none have had an impact such as the conversion of Constantine I, nor as ground breaking as that
of Clovis I. Constantine I was born in the year 280. During his reign as emperor of the Roman
Empire, the state was falling apart. 1 He was the first Roman emperor to convert to Christianity. He
called the Council of Nicea in 325 to resolve conflicts arising between the Arian Christians and the
Athansian Christians. 2 This resulted in the canonization of Athansian Christianity, to which
Constantine I converted his empire. 3Clovis I was born in the year 466, he was the king of the
Franksand ruled Gaul for 30 years. 4 It is unknown when he converted to Christianity, however he
was baptised in 496. Clovis I was the first Germanic king to convert to Christianity, and while he
did not convert his entire state, his conversion was a turning point in Frankish and European
history. Behind any conversion, is a reason. For Constantine I, it was an empire coming apart at
the seams. For Clovis, it was a need to be more palatable to a mostly Christian populous.
While Constantine I ruled the Roman Empire, Christianity became the overriding faith of Rome. 5
While Constantine I had been exposed to Christianity during childhood through his mother, Helena,
he was never a true believer. Many Christian sources write that Constantine received a revelation in
312 before the Battle of Milvian Bridge.

Is the Notion of an Early Modern Military Revolution...
Is the Notion of an Early Modern Military Revolution Tenable?
The notion of an early modern military revolution is one which is a much debated subject among
historians. Two historians who are very dominant in this field are Geoffrey Parker and Michael
Roberts. Although they both agree that a military revolution occurred, they disagree on the timing
of a revolution in war. Roberts argues that a military revolution started in 1560 and by 1660, the
modern art of war had come to birth. Parker, on the other hand, sees the military revolution as a
firmly sixteenth century phenomenon with antecedents in the fifteenth.
Prior to the early modern period, warfare was based around castles and fortified towns and attempts
to capture ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Prior to this era, the maximum size of an army was approximately forty thousand (1555) but this
increased immensely. Parker argued that the demands of new siege style warfare required men to
provision siege lines while attacking and to garrison towns and citadels while defending rose the
number of soldiers required to sustain a war. Gustavus Adolphus used an army of one hundred
and seventy five thousand men to obliterate Habsburg influence in the Holy Roman Empire and
Spain mobilised three hundred thousand men in the 1630 s, which is far greater than the amount
of troops used before. Armies were also becoming permanent rather than seasonal as they were
prior to the revolution. Mercenary armies, which were widely used in the sixteenth and fifteenth
centuries, were on the decline and conscription was on the rise. The Swedes used conscription in
the Thirty Years War, which provided cheap and reliable regiments, as they were motivated by
religion and national sentiment . This was very effective as conscription soldiers who believed
they were fighting for something, be it their country or religion, were less likely to desert than
mercenaries, who would desert if they were offered a higher wage. In countries where conscription
was not being introduced, great emphasis was being placed on recruitment. However, mercenary
armies were still widely being used in the seventeenth century. Gustavus Adolphus army was
defeated in 1632 by Wallenstein s mercenary army.

Literature in No Drama Essay example
By nature, Japanese No drama draw much of their inspiration and influence from the classics.
Many are based on episodes from the most popular classics, like Atsumori, based on the Tale of

episodes do we find references to yet more classic works of literature, from the oldest collections of

Firstly, my approach to media has changed in that I now view media as simply media and not the
media. The media portrays unrealistic body image, people say. This is only partially true; there
are sources of media that portray body image in ways that most would not be able to achieve (i.e.
Playboy), but there are also sources of media that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Growing up as a church kid, I was continually frustrated with my church s way of dealing with
media. Watch Veggie Tales, not Barney. Read The Chronicles of Narnia, not Harry Potter
. Watch
Duck Dynasty, not Glee. Yada, yada, yada. The way my church polarized media into Christian
and non Christian media felt like a worldly concept in itself. Which one of the ten
commandments proclaimed, Thou shalt not watch Glee? I felt as if keeping me away from
different parts of media, media that is a metaphor for the world God created, was a way of
keeping me away from God. I tried to watch Veggie Tales, but I could tell it was trying much too
hard to force Bible lessons down my throat. I tried to read The Chronicles of Narnia, but it simply
did not pique my interest. I did not try to watch Duck Dynasty, because, honestly, reality TV is a
waste of time, even if Neil Postman does believe junk TV should be the epitome of TV s
representation as an entertainment source. Despite my not finding interest in these conventionally
Christian sources of media, I grew closer to God through secular media. Barney, while not
specifically Christian, made me into the polite young woman I am today, and so has allowed me to
treat others with the love that Jesus wants me to treat others with. Even though many Christians
criticize Harry Potter for supporting witchcraft, Harry Potter has taught me the importance of
friendship and familial love, along with the inevitability of death, concepts that are covered
throughout the Bible consistently. Glee is definitely a show that is controversial throughout the
Christian community, but by being one of the few popular shows amongst teenagers to provide
queer representation, it has taught me to respect and appreciate others that are different from

The Energy Industry Of The Electric Utilities Industry
AEP SWEPCO AEP SWEPCO serves a vast market in the electric utilities industry. The energy
industry, comes with a host of serious risks that need to be managed, and AEP SWEPCO is no
exception. The energy industry is difficult, if not impossible to predict. The corporate risk
assessment below discusses AEP s past and present business, as well as identifies risks and
strategies on how to mitigate and manage them. AEP SWEPCO OVERVIEW OF INDUSTRY
CORE BUSINESS: A regulated utility is defined as a corporation that offers an essential or near
essential infrastructure product, commodity, or service with little or no practical substitute. The
utilities industry is subject to comprehensive regulation by a regulatory body. The regulators base
the rates that they set on cost recovery, including an economic return on assets rather than relying
on market price. The utilities market a whole is well established and has a steady demand over the
long term. American Electric Power (AEP) Southwestern Electric Power Company (SWEPCO)
serves nearly 5.4 million customers in 11 states making it the largest electric utilities company in
the United States. It has the largest 40,000 mile electricity transmission network in the nation. It has
approximately 32,000 megawatts of generating capacity as well as 765 kilovolt extra high voltage
transmission lines which makes more than all others in the United States combined. There are
seven regional electric utilities serving customers across several

Ardipithecus Research Paper
Ardipithecus and other early Australopithecines lived in a habitat much wetter than the
environment of Aramis, Ethiopia today. The set for scene one could at times experience a rain
fall, and should include a woodland habitat with patches of denser forest and an abundant amount
of monkeys just as what would have been seen between five and three million years ago. In 1992,
an expedition led by Tim White of the University of California, Berkeley discovered the fossil of
Ardipithecusramidus, dating back to 4.4 million years ago. The skeleton nicknamed Ardi ended
up weighing around 112 pounds, stood almost four feet tall, (somewhat larger than a male
chimpanzee but smaller than a female gorilla) and was most likely a female. Ardi s ape sized brain
has a cranial capacity of only 300 to 350 CC.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The size of Ardi s teeth and the U shaped dental arcade is also similar to that of a chimpanzee,
however, Ardi s incisors were slightly smaller. A large amount of commonalities with chimpanzees
may make a living, trained, male chimpanzee the best and cheapest option to play the role of
Ardipithecus ramidus. The special effects crew could utilize CGI in order to alter the structure of
the chimpanzee s face in close up shots. White s research team found little sexual dimorphism
present between male and female Ar. ramidus based off the only slight differentiation in tooth size.
The scene might then only include hominins relatively close in size. Ardipithecus ramidus most
likely lived in a community similar to the social structure of chimpanzees, comprised of adult males
and females and their offspring. Anthropologist Owen Lovejoy believes that there was even an
intensified male parental

Whole Life
Introduction In creating a whole life concept for myself as I become an engineer was a little
overwhelming for me at first. Reading The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People By Stephen R.
Covey, really helped me to better understand what a whole life concept was and how to apply it
to daily life. In Habit 1 Be Proactive I was introduced to the concentric circles model as seen
Fig.1. Starting out with the circle of concern which includes worries fears such as national debt,
nuclear war, health, personal relationships and problems at work. Outside of my circle of concern
are the things that I do not have any involvement in. Inside my circle of concern there are things
that I have no real control of, also there are things I can... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He breaks down priorities into the quadrants shown in table 1. The best way to mange your time
would be staying in quadrant II. By staying in quadrant II you will spend less time in I, and have
more time for III and IV. As an engineer developing great time management skills is a must. By
staying in quadrant II you will build the relationships need to move forward, and open more
doors for the future. Also this will free up more time for those projects that have a deadline and
require long hours. Habit 4 Win/Win Win/Win is a character based code where all parties
involved gain something. Win/Win does not show life as a competition where someone loses.
Also Covey says that if a mutual benefit can t be found then no deal, agree to disagree agreeably.
In today s world I believe Win/Win should be applied with the environment in mind especially with
nature resources decreasing. Design products that can be easily recycled or having longer lifespans
would help reduce our carbon foot print. Habit 5 Seek First to Understand, Then to be understood
Communication is one of the most important life skills. In Habit 5 Covey tells us that listening is
the most important part of communication. Covey also describes empathic listening, listening with
intent to understand the other person s frame of reference and feelings. After understanding come
being understood the key to being understood courage. It is important that

Mainframes and Personal Computers
Compare and Contrast
Mainframes and Personal Computers
Overview
Mainframes and personal computers have evolved over the years but their core functions have
stayed the same. The mainframe is used connect multiple users for large organizations while
personal computers are generally used for a single users. The more drastic changes for
mainframes and personal computers have been speed and size. Mainframes use to be the size of
buildings. Now they are the size of a textbook. Personal computer s origins came from the dumb
terminal. The dumb terminal was used just to access the mainframe. Then, the idea came to off
load some of the processing from the mainframe and place it on your desktop.
Compare
The hardware is very similar ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Extra security and stability is needed. Resetting a mainframe should not happen as often as a
personal computer. This is because a mainframe will affect hundreds to thousands of users. The
mainframe supports many users. Multiple processors are needed to handle the extra load that
mainframes receive. Multiple processors are the standard for mainframes while it is only an
option for personal computers. This helps the mainframe s stability because a backup processor
can be used in case of a failure. This is also what makes the operating system more complex then
the personal computer. Stability is expected for the mainframe more than a personal computer.
The mainframe is also expected to run 24 hours a day 7 days a week. This is why stability is so
important with the mainframe. The mainframe does not stop working when everyone goes home.
The cost of the mainframe encourages the users to use it as much as possible.
Conclusion
Mainframes and Personal computers were drastically different when they were first introduced.
The mainframe took up buildings and the personal computer was only an interface to a
mainframe. Today, their similarities are growing. Eventually we will not be able to tell the
difference. Has cost comes down for mainframes they to will become personal computers or an add
on to a personal computer for the price of a hard drive today. Back in the day, mainframes were
huge so I will conclude by saying it must be a

Boy Scouts Maturity
All throughout my life, since the age of five, I was an active member in the scouting program.
My goal throughout my thirteen plus years in the program, was to earn the rank of Eagle Scout.
Growing from a young immature child to a young adult that can effectively plan, execute, and
fulfill the requirements of the rank of Eagle Scout. I will not lie, as there were many points in
which I wanted to quit the program because it would be boring, and lose my interest. But over
the years, I knew that I wanted to earn the rank of Eagle Scout, as it is a title that would be with
me my entire life, as well as a title few have. It all began seven months before my eighteenth
birthday, as I was close to aging out of Boy Scouts. My last requirement

Why Is Plastic Surgery Wrong
Plastic surgery has been a hot button issue in recent years because of the debate of how far
procedures can and should go. TV shows like Botched highlight how plastic surgeries can go
wrong and make someone look fake, but that is a rarer scenario than media perceives it to be.
Because of media s prevalence in our lives, we often see plastic surgeryas fake and those who seek
it faker. Not all the people who seek plastic surgeryare doing it in vain. They often are seeking to
better themselves. The truth is media pushes a negative impact on the perception of plastic surgery
and the hides benefits plastic surgery can have.
Celebrities like Ariel Winter from ABC s Modern Family face ridicule within the plastic surgery
debate as described by Winters in an interview with Glamour magazine. Winter, at the age of 17,
faced societal pressure to do something about her size F breasts. She described her situation in
the eye of the media as having so little to wear that s age appropriate which would lead to
backlash for dressing too maturely in form fitting clothes. Social media has its own mockery.
Winter described it as The Internet bullies are awful. I could post a photo where I feel good, and
500 people will comment about how fat I am and that I am disgusting . Winters felt as though the
media targeted her based off of her appearance rather than her accomplishments as a young actress.
This behavior by media is troublesome because it leads to people outside of high publicity

Data sharing is another common habituated property to the common people. These data sharing include video data in social networks, this was done regularly through mobile devices like smart phones, tablets, laptops etc. we focused on demands on video traffic over mobile networks. Mobile network consist limited bandwidth and long buffering time. To overcome these issues we suppose adaptive mobile video streaming, efficient social video sharing. These two approaches shows scalable results in social network environment. Cloud computing represents a major change in how we store information and run applications. Instead of hosting apps and data on an individual desktop computer, everything is hosted in the cloud an assemblage of computers and servers accessed via the Internet. Cloud computing exhibits the following key characteristics: 1. Agility improves with users ability to re provision technological infrastructure resources. 2. Multi tenancy enables sharing of resources and costs across a large pool of users thus allowing for: 3. Utilization and efficiency ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. The Impact Of Poor Nutrition On The Student S Achievements. The Impact of Poor Nutrition On the Student s Achievements Abstract Chapter1: Introduction The ability of the students in the schools to learn is being hindered by foods that are widely available in the schools which have affected the academic performance. The state of boards in the schools have been in a mission to improve the education systems in schools which in return will improve the academic performance of the students. To achieve this, they have to find the reasons as to why the students do not perform well or the things that hinder the performance of the students in schools. One of the areas that should be looked at is the kind of nutritional substances that are eaten by most of the school going children. There are national and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These programs have been of great benefit to the students because their school attendance has improved and their academic performance have improved. Poor nutrition in students does not only affect their academic performance but also affects their social skills, cognitive development, learning and social behavior. However, there are some steps of actions that can be taken that will help to solve the problem of poor nutrition in schools. Some of this action may involve central themes including creativity, collaboration, and patience. Fixing the issue of poor nutrition among students will also help in tacking the health constituents that majority of the students suffer from such as obesity, undernourishment, and even eating disorders which have raised concern in the United States of America. The issue of providing students from low income families with nutritious meals has been debated for many years. As from the period of the Great Depression some schools started to offer their students with lunch and this had two major goals. The first goal of the school lunch program was to ensure that students from low income families did not have poor nutrition by giving them meals with nutritional benefits. On the other hand, the second goal of the school lunch program was to make good use of the surplus agricultural commodities that the government had bought from ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Fear Of Tyranny Before the year 1787, we were all in fear of tyranny. Thinking things would go back to like they were in England, with the king having complete power over everyone and everything, a group of delegates joined together to help calm these fears. They grouped in the summer of 1787, in the great land of Philadelphia, and wrote everything down. They came up with laws and rules and government ideas and formed it into what we call the Constitution of America (Background Essay). But how did this help keep us from tyranny? Well, in the list of laws, we also had rules for our government and how it would work. They split our government into three branches, the Legislative Branch, the Executive Branch, and the Judicial Branch. Now, these branches work together ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 8. How are characters presented as disturbed in Macbeth,... It is important to be able to define what disturbed actually means in order to answer this question to a high standard of explanation. Disturbed is an adjective and it is the showing of symptoms of mental illness, severe psychosis and neurosis. It is also useful to consider the audiences of each poem or play to elaborate on explanations. Macbeth, written by William Shakespeare, is set during the eleventh century is about the emotional manipulation of individuals and the lust for power and the upmost authority over a victorious Scotland featuring an Elizabethan audience whereas Robert Browning s poems, Laboratory and My Last Duchess, is about the overcoming of jealously and betrayal set during the Victorian era with a Victorian audience.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The fact that Lady Macbeth urges Macbeth to commit sacrilege is, without saying, disturbing because the King (especially at that time) is Gods representative and killing God just to achieve power is so insane that you could argue that she is demon possessed . Macbeth and the poem Laboratory are both similar in terms of the unusual language used, Tomorrow, and tomorrow, and tomorrow , a quote by Macbeth in his final soliloquy, in act five, scene five, before to his soliloquy Lady Macbeth had committed suicide which was inevitably an act of sin and therefore the afterlife would be spend in hell for eternity We ld jump the life to come. But in these cases We still have judgment here , which meant Macbeth and Lady Macbeth (at least Macbeth) were both aware that they had committed felonies during their current life including sacrilege giving the idea that Macbeth was aware of his wrongdoings telling us that Macbeth was not psychotically weak but instead attempted to improvise the situation so at least he had something to live for. This also gives the audience sympathy for Macbeth because he is able to rationalize his opinions and justifications. Bortons Reflective Framework Model Using Bortons (1970) reflective framework model, I am going to reflect on an experience I have had whilst out in practice with the community mental health team in the North of England. Whilst on placement I noticed there were numerous referrals of individuals with personality disorder. Whilst in multi disciplinary meeting when we used to get these referrals I would very often hear people say typical PD or well there is nothing our service can do for them . At these times, I was concerned for the individual s welfare and when speaking to the services users myself, I found it difficult due to me having limited experiencing working with individuals who have a diagnosis of personality disorder (PD). Because of this, I have decided to look up possible research ideas regarding PD. To see if there was a different type of medications, therapies and other services which are available to individuals with varied diagnosis of PD. From my experience and observations of working on acute wards, I found that health care professionals aren t sure how to treat or mange service users with PD sometimes. According to the American Psychiatric Association (2001) the primary treatment for personality disorders is psychotherapy, complemented by pharmacotherapy to treat symptoms during periods of acute decompensation. • 10. Examples Of Rhetorical Devices In A Modest Proposal USE OF SATIRICAL STRATEGIES IN A MODEST PROPOSAL BY JONOTHAN SWIFT In his modest proposal, Jonathan Swift uses logical fallacies, repetition, metaphors, humor, parallelism, sarcasm and satire. The devices are effectively used to examine the attitude of the rich people towards the poor in the society. Jonathan starts by mocking the mothers for strolling in the streets begging for alms instead of looking for jobs and putting something on the tables for children to eat. Jonathan predicts that when the kids grow, they might turn out to be thieves as nobody taught these kids to earn an honest living. He uses logical fallacies to try and make the proposal modest though his line of thinking is not correct. He points out that a year old child is nourishing and wholesome food. That a healthy child is delicious food to be prepared using any method of food preparation is outrageous. He proposes that 20,000 children preserved for bleeding purposes. This is dehumanizing children and comparing them to animals. He outlines how slaughterhouses should be build and butchers be employed to do the slaughtering of children. In his exaggeration, he goes to the point of saying that the kids will be roasted like pigs. ( ) Swift also uses irony when he says that there are about 200,000 couples whose wives are just breeders. ( ) He proposes that an arrangement is made to the rear and provide for these children. Here he compares women to animals because human beings are not bred for commercial purposes. Here he dehumanizes human beings by use of satire. He gives reasons as to why this is a good idea. First, he says that the method will decrease the number of useless Catholics in Ireland. Secondly, he claims that the government will earn from exports of the meat from Ireland. The mothers will also earn something from this breeding and a burden will be lifted off their shoulders. He also foresees that the new delicacy will be welcomed in the taverns. The marriage institution will also be enhanced because mothers will put in more effort in raising the best kids because they would fetch good prices in the markets. To support his argument, Swift is sarcastic that some parts of children s body are good for eating. He further notes that these ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 12. Kraft Heinz Case Study Strategic Issues and Actions Strategy Model The strategy of Kraft Heinz dramatically changed after the merger in 2015. The new strategy is considered to be iconoclastic. This is because the new leaders of the company are not reminiscing in the past or using the former strategies that worked for the company. They did a complete overhaul to the leadership and the strategies that worked for the company. The new company objectives are as follows: 1. Profitable sales growth, 2 Best in class margins, and 3. A superior return of capital. The company will no longer let employees slip in to the cracks and gain a retirement, it must be earned. Since 3G Capital is the holding company for Kraft Heinz they follow the meritocracy model set forth by 3G. Colvin (2017) discussed the fact that those who do good move forward and up, those that do bad get fired. It is almost biblical Don t be deceived: God is not mocked. For whatever a man sows he will also reap (Galatians 6:7, Holman Christian Standard Bible). Colvin explains this when he discusses the new CEO: Kraft Heinz CEO BerВ¬nardo Hees, for example, first became a CEO in 2005 at a company called All America Latina Logistica, owned by a 3G Capital predecessor. He was then made CEO of Burger King, a 3G Capital holding since 2010. He moved up to be CEO of Heinz in 2013 and now of Kraft Heinz. Religion was more important than politics in the failure of King and Parliament to reach a settlement. 1646 1649 , Assess the validity of this statement. In January 1649, King Charles I was executed after being charged with high treason due to political and religious reasons, some of which contributed to his refusal in accepting the peace settlements given to him by Parliament. Charles refusal to compromise was supported by the division that had emerged within Parliament on how to fight the civil war between the Political Presbyterians and Political Independents. The main factors of the failure to reach a settlement were religion, politics, Charles intransigence, the New Model Army and the emergence of radical ideas; all of which ... Still Ireton spoke for the grandees which did include Cromwell and insisted that the franchise should be restricted to those with a permanent fixed interest in the kingdom as Seel 2 says, and that the vote should go to those who possessed property or there would otherwise be a disturbance to a good constitution of the kingdom . This was seen as important because the views of the religious radicals made settlements more difficult and furthermore increased the tension of division among those in the army and in parliament. The politicisation of the New Model Army also played a significant role in the failure to reach a settlement in the years 1646 to 1649 between Charles and Parliament. What made the army politicised was the concerns of their wages of ВЈ3 million in arrears and the possibility of being faced with the charges of committing offences from the First Civil War, as Parliament had not passed an indemnity act. The army presented Charles with the Heads of The Proposals in 1647, which links back to religious division in parliament, , under Cromwell and Ireton s influence, putting forward more stricter terms such as religious toleration was to be more effective to a wider degree and that the army was to be controlled by parliament for only ten years instead of twenty, making the army seem like a ... We can live a life of altruism, valour and nobility or one fuelled by ambition, greed and violence. Macbeths journey from the former to the later showcases to the audience the dangers of selfishness. It prompts us to question our view of life do we succumb to the false promises of evil, as tempting as they are, or do we remain defiant and true to ourselves. It contains the ominous line the greatest is behind . These words, though ambiguous, suggest to the audience that that Macbeth believes the greatest has already been achieved (i.e. it is his destiny to be king) so the next steps will be easier. The next steps include getting rid of Duncan. Through his aside he describes to the audience the thoughts running through his head. He is battling with his innate goodness if good, why do I yield to that suggestion whose horrible image doth unfix my hair and make his heart knock at his ribs . His language reveals that he is considering murdering king Duncan, though he would loathe doing it. However at the end of the aside Macbeth decides not to follow through with the murder if chance will have me king, why chance may crown me without my stir and instead leave it to chance as he knows he should be loyal to king Duncan our duties are to your throne . From this aside the audience learns that Macbeth wants greatness to be his but the horribleness of murder and his loyalty to the throne are preventing him. At this point Macbeth is still a good man even though he is flawed. He is aware of his own ambition but is not allowing to undermine his integrity. An aside is also used following a meeting between Duncan, Macbeth and Banquo. In this scene Shakespeare uses dramatic irony for when Duncan refers to the traitor Cawdor ne says he was a gentleman upon which I built an absolute trust . This foreshadows how ... IP is names and images used in commerce. Almost everything is IP. These things can be protected by patent, copyright, service mark, or trademark. These topics are very complicated; the consolidated version of US patentlaws and rules is over 200 pages long. While there are many good things about IP protection, there are also many unnecessary problems with it that should be changed. Some of these problems include IP education, and the lack of it, the time frame that these protections span, and the major lack of solid international laws. In most grade schools and high schools, the only IP protection education is your English teachers telling you not to plagiarize copyrighted works, or a business class may go into it a little. Throughout history, there have been many instances of leaders converting to new religions, but none have had an impact such as the conversion of Constantine I, nor as ground breaking as that of Clovis I. Constantine I was born in the year 280. During his reign as emperor of the Roman Empire, the state was falling apart. 1 He was the first Roman emperor to convert to Christianity. He called the Council of Nicea in 325 to resolve conflicts arising between the Arian Christians and the Athansian Christians. 2 This resulted in the canonization of Athansian Christianity, to which Constantine I converted his empire. 3Clovis I was born in the year 466, he was the king of the Franksand ruled Gaul for 30 years. 4 It is unknown when he converted to Christianity, however he was baptised in 496. Clovis I was the first Germanic king to convert to Christianity, and while he did not convert his entire state, his conversion was a turning point in Frankish and European history. Behind any conversion, is a reason. For Constantine I, it was an empire coming apart at the seams. For Clovis, it was a need to be more palatable to a mostly Christian populous. While Constantine I ruled the Roman Empire, Christianity became the overriding faith of Rome. 5 While Constantine I had been exposed to Christianity during childhood through his mother, Helena, he was never a true believer. The notion of an early modern military revolution is one which is a much debated subject among historians. Two historians who are very dominant in this field are Geoffrey Parker and Michael Roberts. Roberts argues that a military revolution started in 1560 and by 1660, the modern art of war had come to birth. Gustavus Adolphus used an army of one hundred and seventy five thousand men to obliterate Habsburg influence in the Holy Roman Empire and Spain mobilised three hundred thousand men in the 1630 s, which is far greater than the amount of troops used before. Armies were also becoming permanent rather than seasonal as they were prior to the revolution. The Swedes used conscription in the Thirty Years War, which provided cheap and reliable regiments, as they were motivated by religion and national sentiment . • 39. Media And Non-Christian Media At the beginning of the semester, one of the first topics discussed in this class was Media to me is ______. Upon being asked this question, I had two answers to fill in these blanks. One of these answers was a way for me to learn about the world and the other was a form of entertainment. After taking this course, I have formulated some new, more complex ideas on how to fill in these blanks. Firstly, my approach to media has changed in that I now view media as simply media and not the media. The media portrays unrealistic body image, people say. This is only partially true; there are sources of media that portray body image in ways that most would not be able to achieve (i.e. Playboy), but there are also sources of media that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Growing up as a church kid, I was continually frustrated with my church s way of dealing with media. Watch Veggie Tales, not Barney. Read The Chronicles of Narnia, not Harry Potter . Watch Duck Dynasty, not Glee. Yada, yada, yada. The way my church polarized media into Christian and non Christian media felt like a worldly concept in itself. Which one of the ten commandments proclaimed, Thou shalt not watch Glee? I felt as if keeping me away from different parts of media, media that is a metaphor for the world God created, was a way of keeping me away from God. I tried to watch Veggie Tales, but I could tell it was trying much too hard to force Bible lessons down my throat. I tried to read The Chronicles of Narnia, but it simply did not pique my interest. I did not try to watch Duck Dynasty, because, honestly, reality TV is a waste of time, even if Neil Postman does believe junk TV should be the epitome of TV s representation as an entertainment source. Despite my not finding interest in these conventionally Christian sources of media, I grew closer to God through secular media. Barney, while not specifically Christian, made me into the polite young woman I am today, and so has allowed me to treat others with the love that Jesus wants me to treat others with. Even though many Christians criticize Harry Potter for supporting witchcraft, Harry Potter has taught me the importance of friendship and familial love, along with the inevitability of death, concepts that are covered throughout the Bible consistently. Glee is definitely a show that is controversial throughout the Christian community, but by being one of the few popular shows amongst teenagers to provide queer representation, it has taught me to respect and appreciate others that are different from ... The energy industry, comes with a host of serious risks that need to be managed, and AEP SWEPCO is no exception. The energy industry is difficult, if not impossible to predict. The corporate risk assessment below discusses AEP s past and present business, as well as identifies risks and strategies on how to mitigate and manage them. AEP SWEPCO OVERVIEW OF INDUSTRY CORE BUSINESS: A regulated utility is defined as a corporation that offers an essential or near essential infrastructure product, commodity, or service with little or no practical substitute. The utilities industry is subject to comprehensive regulation by a regulatory body. The regulators base the rates that they set on cost recovery, including an economic return on assets rather than relying on market price. The utilities market a whole is well established and has a steady demand over the long term. • 41. Ardipithecus Research Paper Ardipithecus and other early Australopithecines lived in a habitat much wetter than the environment of Aramis, Ethiopia today. The set for scene one could at times experience a rain fall, and should include a woodland habitat with patches of denser forest and an abundant amount of monkeys just as what would have been seen between five and three million years ago. In 1992, an expedition led by Tim White of the University of California, Berkeley discovered the fossil of Ardipithecusramidus, dating back to 4.4 million years ago. The skeleton nicknamed Ardi ended up weighing around 112 pounds, stood almost four feet tall, (somewhat larger than a male chimpanzee but smaller than a female gorilla) and was most likely a female. Ardi s ape sized brain has a cranial capacity of only 300 to 350 CC.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The size of Ardi s teeth and the U shaped dental arcade is also similar to that of a chimpanzee, however, Ardi s incisors were slightly smaller. A large amount of commonalities with chimpanzees may make a living, trained, male chimpanzee the best and cheapest option to play the role of Ardipithecus ramidus. The special effects crew could utilize CGI in order to alter the structure of the chimpanzee s face in close up shots. White s research team found little sexual dimorphism present between male and female Ar. ramidus based off the only slight differentiation in tooth size. The scene might then only include hominins relatively close in size. Ardipithecus ramidus most likely lived in a community similar to the social structure of chimpanzees, comprised of adult males and females and their offspring. Anthropologist Owen Lovejoy believes that there was even an intensified male parental ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 42. Whole Life Introduction In creating a whole life concept for myself as I become an engineer was a little overwhelming for me at first. Reading The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People By Stephen R. Covey, really helped me to better understand what a whole life concept was and how to apply it to daily life. In Habit 1 Be Proactive I was introduced to the concentric circles model as seen Fig.1. Starting out with the circle of concern which includes worries fears such as national debt, nuclear war, health, personal relationships and problems at work. Outside of my circle of concern are the things that I do not have any involvement in. Inside my circle of concern there are things that I have no real control of, also there are things I can... By staying in quadrant II you will spend less time in I, and have more time for III and IV. As an engineer developing great time management skills is a must. By staying in quadrant II you will build the relationships need to move forward, and open more doors for the future. Also this will free up more time for those projects that have a deadline and require long hours. Habit 4 Win/Win Win/Win is a character based code where all parties involved gain something. Win/Win does not show life as a competition where someone loses. Also Covey says that if a mutual benefit can t be found then no deal, agree to disagree agreeably. In today s world I believe Win/Win should be applied with the environment in mind especially with nature resources decreasing. Design products that can be easily recycled or having longer lifespans would help reduce our carbon foot print. Habit 5 Seek First to Understand, Then to be understood Communication is one of the most important life skills. In Habit 5 Covey tells us that listening is the most important part of communication. Covey also describes empathic listening, listening with intent to understand the other person s frame of reference and feelings. Mainframes and Personal Computers Compare and Contrast Mainframes and Personal Computers Overview Mainframes and personal computers have evolved over the years but their core functions have stayed the same. The mainframe is used connect multiple users for large organizations while personal computers are generally used for a single users. The more drastic changes for mainframes and personal computers have been speed and size. Mainframes use to be the size of buildings. Now they are the size of a textbook. Personal computer s origins came from the dumb terminal. The dumb terminal was used just to access the mainframe. Then, the idea came to off load some of the processing from the mainframe and place it on your desktop. Compare The hardware is very similar ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Extra security and stability is needed. Resetting a mainframe should not happen as often as a personal computer. This is because a mainframe will affect hundreds to thousands of users. The mainframe supports many users. Multiple processors are needed to handle the extra load that mainframes receive. Multiple processors are the standard for mainframes while it is only an option for personal computers. This helps the mainframe s stability because a backup processor can be used in case of a failure. This is also what makes the operating system more complex then the personal computer. Stability is expected for the mainframe more than a personal computer. The mainframe is also expected to run 24 hours a day 7 days a week. This is why stability is so important with the mainframe. The mainframe does not stop working when everyone goes home. The cost of the mainframe encourages the users to use it as much as possible. Conclusion Mainframes and Personal computers were drastically different when they were first introduced. The mainframe took up buildings and the personal computer was only an interface to a mainframe. Today, their similarities are growing. Eventually we will not be able to tell the difference. Has cost comes down for mainframes they to will become personal computers or an add on to a personal computer for the price of a hard drive today. Because of media s prevalence in our lives, we often see plastic surgeryas fake and those who seek it faker. Not all the people who seek plastic surgeryare doing it in vain. Winter, at the age of 17, faced societal pressure to do something about her size F breasts. She described her situation in the eye of the media as having so little to wear that s age appropriate which would lead to backlash for dressing too maturely in form fitting clothes.
