3. INTRODUCTION
Soil cement is compacted mixture of soil/aggregate,
portland cement, water. it is also known as cement
stabilization of soil. it is widely used as low cost
pavement base.
4. RAW MATERIAL OF SOIL
CEMENT
Soil/aggregate
Portland cement
Water
5. TYPE OF SOIL CEMENT
Cement modified soil
Cement treated base
Full depth reclamation
7. PERFORMANCE OF SOIL
CEMENT
Its slab like characteristic and beam strength are
unmatched by granular bases.
Hard, rigid soil cement resists cyclic cold rain and
spring-thaw damage. cement stabilizes soil in two
ways. first, it reduces soil plasticity, especially for the
soil in which there is high amount of clay particles.
9. DISADVANTAGE
Can not operate if moisture of soil above 10%.
Cracks may form in soil cement.
It is harmful for environment.
It requires extra labor.
10. CONCLUSION
As a civil engineer our aim is economy with out losing
strength. hence soil cement is best choice for low
traffic pavements. soil cement bricks are eco-friendly
with nature.
