ASSESSMENT
With regard to it’s features, Janisch, Liu,
and Akrofi (2007) emphasized the idea
that authentic assessment is mainly
based on a contructivist perspective of
learning wherein the interplay of the
learners,materials and content affects
the learning outcomes.

Tay (2017) identified cardinal rules in planning and
implementing authentic assessment :
•Determining the skills and achievement that
students will develop.
•Elaborating the task that students will use to
demonstrate their skills and achievements.
•Determining and communicating scoring rubrics for
evaluation.
•Identifying proofs for supporting decisions.
Improving educational and instructional programs.
STRENGTHS
•Authentic Assessments are direct
measures.
•Authentic Assessments capture the
constructive nature of learning.
•Authentic Assessments integrate
teaching,learning, and assessment.
•Authentic Assessments provide multiple
paths to demonstration.
LIMITATIONS
•Subjectivity in scoring
•Costliness
•Time skills and knowledge that are
assessed
•Time constraints
