Human Immunodeficiency Virus Infection And Acquired...
Introduction:
Human immunodeficiency virus infection and acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (HIV/AIDS)
is a pandemic which infects the human immune system with the human immunodeficiency virus
(HIV).1 The term HIV/AIDS describes the entire cascade and progression of disease from the
initial infection with HIV to the later, more severe stage of AIDS. It is a global pandemic that affects
35 million people (2013) worldwide and 35, 287 people in Australia. 2,3 Dentists need to be
acknowledgeable of this rapidly spreading disease and understand how to manage patients with HIV
/AIDS.
The human immunodeficiency virus is a lentivirus (retrovirus), which attacks Helper T cells,
specifically CD4 lymphocytes causing the progressive deterioration of the immune system.4
Initially when HIV is contracted, there is a period if 2 to 6 weeks called seroconversion where HIV
antibodies are not detectable. During this period the patient may experience flu like symptoms due
to the initial immune reaction.4 Next, there is a clinical, asymptomatic phase, which can last up to
10 years, and during this time the CD4 count decreases, causing gradual immunodeficiency. This
lead to opportunistic infections such as oral candidiasis (thrush).4 Eventually, the AIDS stage of the
disease is reached and there are more serious opportunistic infections and malignancies.
HIV is mainly transmitted by unprotected intercourse sexual intercourse, vaginal, anal or oral sex.
However it can also be transmitted by

Kant and Priori Synthetic Truths
Transcendental aesthetic deals with objects that can be perceived only as far as the mind can
perceive it, the mind can only know of those things that we are capable of sensing and feeling. A
synthetic judgment is one that connects the concept of B and A, but is not contained within each
other. Synthetic truths are those that that are true by virtue of empirical a fact that is to say that its
meanings and truths are determined by intuitions which can be representations of something that
we hold in our mind. Synthetic a priori truths are necessarily true and underdetermined by sensory
impressions, its truths are not determined by truth functional factors alone, and these truths are
based on intuition. Synthetic priori knowledge occurs when our mind organizes experiences so that
they become necessary and universal facts of our experience, since we don t experience causation
this is how the mind distinguishes between events, it helps us gain knowledge about the world. A
priori judgments are those that actually exist in the sciences and along with pure a priori judgments
in mathematics. A priori knowledge is that which is independent of experience like mathematics. A
priori knowledge is known through reason and through an understanding of how something works
instead of observing it. Two types of a priori cognition are space and time. This type of cognition is
from transcendental aesthetic because it deals with receptivity and how objects can actually be
perceived; it is what is

Graffiti Research Papers
Graffiti has existed for several decades and it s still going strong. By the definition of any type
of writing on the wall, it actually goes back to ancient Rome. The style of urban graffiti, that most
identify as graffiti, came from New York City in the late 1960s. It was born by the tagging of
subway trains. Tagging means, that they would simply leave their signature in places. For tagging
on the insides of trains, permanent markers worked, but using spray cans of paint quickly became
popular as well, especially for tagging on the outside of trains.
Soon, graffiti became more than just simple tagging, because the graffiti artists, would try to
exceed each other in terms of style. At first, writers would try to make their tags more stylish than
anyone else s. Later on, they would add more colours, special effects, and make their name bigger.
Graffiti really evolved into a complex art form with its own techniques and vocabulary. From
simple tags on the insides of trains to masterpieces that spanned multiple subway cars, the art and
science of graffiti grew quickly and soon ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The most known street artists Banksy and Shepard Fairey. Banksy, has had his work shown in
galleries such as Sotheby s in London. Despite his anonymity, the British artist has gained
tremendous popularity. (Lombardo, 2015)
Like all other artistic forms, graffiti has experienced movements or changes in style. The
messages have also evolved. Graffiti has always been somewhat political, but it has come a long
way from simply tagging one s name to parodying world leaders to make a statement. (Sanchez,
2007)
This is further proof that graffiti is a form of art and not just a result of random acts of vandalism.
The graffiti community moves in different directions and the resultant artwork moves with

Popcorn During The Great Depression
The Encyclopedia Popcornica, put together by The Popcorn Board, has a great deal of
information all about popcorn. Their discoveries found that the corn used to make popcorn has
been around for 4,000 years. Popcorn was very popular in the 1890s until the Great Depression.
During this time street vendors would walk around with their poppers through parks, fairs, and
expositions. Popcorn during the Great Depression was a real treat and one of the few things that
families could afford. This was the time for popcorn to take off with business because it was cheap
and other businesses could not stay open. Unfortunately, when the television came around many
people stopped going to the movies, which causes sales in popcorn to decrease as well until... Show

Matured popcorn kernels are made up of protein, oils, and carbohydrates. The percentage of each
of these components varies from kernel to kernel based on its genetics and growing environment.
Compared to normal corn, popcorn typically has similar starch and oil contents but higher protein
content. Also, the starch found in popcorn tends to have lower gelatinization temperatures, peak
temperatures, and pasting temperatures than normal corn starch. All of these differences allow the
popcorn to pop to 30 times the volume of the original kernel (Sweley, Rose, Jackson, 2013). These

Thank You Ma Am Mrs. Jones Character Traits
According to Merriam Webster, the word memorable means worth remembering. Mrs. Luella Bates
Washington Jones from the short story, Thank You, M am, is an indelible character because of
many outstanding personality traits that she possesses. Mrs. Jones s authority is one personality
trait that shows how significant she is for the reader. Moreover, her generosity and ability to
understand others exemplify how notable Mrs. Jones is for the readers of the short story.
Altogether, it is the combination of these traits that make Mrs. Jones such an unforgettable character.
It is through Mrs. Jones s impact on others that the reader is able to understand how noteworthy
she is. The first instance of her effect comes when she tells Roger that she was once in his
position. Telling Roger that she was once in his position makes him feel better because he is not
alone. A further example of Mrs. Jones s guidance comes when she tells Roger about her
profession. Although Mrs. Jones was like Roger in the past, she chose the right path and was able
to get a job. Talking about her occupation influences Roger to make the right choices so he can

Jones s selflessness develops the reader s comprehension of how notable she is. Mrs. Jones was
helpful when Roger told her that he had no one at home. She decided to take him home to clean
and feed him. Mrs. Jones was willing to devote her time in order to assist Roger with his needs.
Mrs. Jones also displays her consideration when she tells Roger he could have just asked for the
money. Mrs. Jones showed her liberality by donating her money for Roger s needs. The last
example of Mrs. Jones s unselfishness can be seen when she hands Roger the ten dollars. Now

New Netherlands Influence On American Society
It s quite obvious that the nations outlined in Woodard s book have paved the road for the
American way today. Some nations have had bigger contributions than others. I think the New
Netherlands played the biggest role in both political and economic America today. New
Netherlands was established ,originally, as a trade post. As a direct result of the post there was a
level of tolerance that was necessary. It was this level of tolerance that shaped the way we ,should,
behave today. The trading post lead to a decidedly corporate character, making growth difficult.
Once the nation was developed ,greatly at the hand of the West Indian Company, the government
was run predominantly by figures of that company. They controlled trade with the mother... Show

There was a large caste system in play in the deep south for a long time. I believe that the
influence of this class system is why racism was such a problem in the deep south. The caste
system in the deep south was very rigid. You were born into a caste and leaving that caste was
nearly impossible. There are remnants of that society still in action today. Although mainly
practiced by old money elitists. Slaves played a fundamental part of shaping the deep south we
see today. With the ever growing demand for slaves people were being brought in from
everywhere and this resulted in a large melting pot of cultures. These melting pots created new
languages, culinary practices and even music a majority of which are still in practice today. In
places like Alabama racism was and probably is still a huge issue. I believe this was derived
from the caste system, which placed american americans at the bottom. White then gained a
sense of superiority and even after slavery was abolished racism was still a very real thing. In
some parts of the deep south there is still a white prom and a black prom. Racism is a black mark
on the deep souths past that no amount of time will

same organized time. Ponyboy, Sodapop and Darry s parents die first, then Bob, lastly Johnny and
Dally. When Johnny and Ponyboy killed Bob, the movie and novel both had the same solution.
When they killed Bob, they immediately went to Dally for help and the supplies they would need.

Mexican Olympics Protest Of 1968 And The Protests
In formality to human existence, protesting has been a right for all humans to speak to their mind.
Some may say that the idea of revolting against injustices is embedded in our DNA; perhaps this
may be true, but regardless, protesting has been a sign for craving transformation. Dating back from
American Revolutionto Black Lives matter, protesthas been the only guaranteed freedom that gives
us a voice to alter our future. In retrospect, movements or protest such as Civil Rights Movement
quite literally changed the landscape of America for generations; speaking out towards the spiteful
racism that was so prevalent during those times leading to an importance in diversity. Similarly,
Countries around the world have conducted protest that has revolutionized the way of life or
inspired future generations. A clear distinction of this honor would be with Mexican Olympics
protest of 1968, the infamous protest that captured the world s attention. Public found themselves in
a unique position in viewing the Mexican youth stand up against the corruption of the Mexican
Government. This social unrest became a fundamental part of modern Mexican culture that has
sparked transparency in their government and transpired an unexpected deeper effect
internationally. The time period around the Summer Olympics in 1968 was a pivotal moment in
Mexico. In fact, the Olympics games was a monumental honor due to Mexico becoming the first

The Great Divide And Abortion Essay
The Great Divide Abortion is dividing America. Without a common understanding of abortion,
this issue will always be divisive in America. Throughout the history of America, abortion has
been an issue that has generally separated people into two camps, those in favor of abortion and
those against abortion. However, these two groups, more often than not, have not approached their
understanding of this issue from the same perspective. Generally speaking, those in favor of
abortion see the issue of the personal rights of women. However, those against abortion, view the
issue of the rights of the child. As a result, these two perspectives will never gain unity or a
common understanding of abortion. The purpose of this paper is to not only give a clear
understanding of both sides of the issue, but to argue that this issue will never be a unifying issue in
American culture. A simple definition of abortion provides a common starting point for
understanding this divisive issue. The Webster s New World Dictionary defines abortion as a
premature expulsion of a fetus so that it does not live, especially if induced on purpose (2). The fact
that the fetus cannot survive independently outside of the mother s womb due to an abortion
presents a continuous debate. Ultimately this debate hinges on the point in time the fetus becomes
a human being. Mark Y. Herring quotes the text from Abortion, Medicine and Law, Abortion
implies intent or purpose, but statutes frequently spell it out anyway,

Reduction In Trade Barriers Essay
Does a reduction in trade barriers cause a country to move closer to its production possibilities
curve or does it cause the production possibilities curve to shift outward?
Reduction in trade barriers causes a country s production possibilities curve to move outward
because of limited resources. Lets the Europe for an example, It has a population is close to 731
million and it is rich in skilled labor. It has big economies such as France, England and Germany
but it does not have much raw materials. A decrease or reduction in tradebarriers will ultimately
lead increase in economic activity or an outward shirt in production possibilities curve.
This is also magnified by the prosperous economic activity of European Union. After the WWII,
Europe was in ruins and it was only with the help of Marshall Plan that it managed to stand on its
feet. But reasons which are downplayed on a broader spectrum are the lifting of trade restriction
of different countries of Europe; citizens of the Members of the European Union can travel from
one country to other for Jobs, thus increase in labor in that country. Germany after the war had
abundant amount of skill labor but it lacked finances to properly incorporate labor. That was
when French Foreign Minister Robert Schuman put forward the proposal of production of Iron
and Steel Production between Germany and France. This was the basis of free trade or reduction
in trade barriers which in the words of Carmen Diaz Mora was success because

Addiction treatment problems are reaching even further out into society with new synthetic drugs

designer drugs are sweeping the country as hospital admissions and reports to poisoncontrol centers

learning how to be happy and live life without seeking such detrimental remedies to ones problems.
Often kids seek these kinds of things out as means to fit in or feed some inner insecurity thinking
since the drugs are legal they cannot be harmful. Other users who have abused the drugs tell others
nothing happened, when nothing could be further from the truth. Where one leads others will

The National League Of Major League Baseball
Should there be a designated hitter in the national league in major league baseball? That is the
question that is being asked around major league baseball by fans, owners, managers, and the
players. If a team is playing in an American league ball park both teams must use a designated
hitter in place of the pitcher. If a team is playing in a National leagueball park both teams pitchers
must hit instead of having a designated hitter. This is set to give each league an advantage when
playing in interleague games because National league teams normally carry an extra pitcher while
American league teams normally carry an extra hitter. However, injury concerns, numbers, and
entertainment factors play a huge part in the designated hitter... Show more content on

An injury like this is more of a freak accident rather than an injury that could be prevented. A line
drive up the middle that hits the pitcher may look bad, but in most cases they usually only miss a
few starts. Generally it is concussions which there are proper protocols for concussion related
incidents. This year two National league pitchers have been injured while hit. That may not
necessarily seem like a high number, but it is when it is related to pitchers. Adam Wainwright is
the ace of the St. Louis Cardinals and this year he had a season ending injury while he was
leaving the box to run to first. In this example, the cardinals lost their ace for the year. Teams do
not want to see their ace or any pitchers go down because it could affect their playoff aspirations.
Even though Wainwright went down the cardinals are currently in first place of their division.
They even have two pitchers with 10 wins or more, but it does not always happen like that. Take
the Chicago Cubs for example who are currently in the race to be in position to contend for a wild
card spot. Jon Lester is their best pitcher on their staff. This would ultimately end their season over
something that could have been prevented if he was injured while at the plate. Major league baseball
teams do not want to lose a great pitcher over something that could be avoided. Many people
believe that this could be solved if the

Restorative Justice
Restorative justice focuses on repairing the damage created by a crime in an alternative way to the
classic, punish based systems that are commonly used throughout most parts of the world
(Boslaugh 2013). The restorative justice process requires the offender to take responsibility for
their behaviour and its consequences by viewing the crimeas an injury to an individual, instead of
an objective state, and concentrating on the victim, their needs and who is responsible to address
their needs and reverse the wrongs of the crime (Boslaugh 2013). The many benefits that have been
found for restorative justicesystems programs include; reduced recidivism and increased well being
of victims (Boslaugh 2013).
This essay argues that restorative justice ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

offenders reactions, the same questions used on victims exploring the extent of satisfaction was
used on the offenders. With these findings, the offenders views on the different measures of
satisfaction shows inter correlation with those views of the victims (Shapland, Robinson and
Sorsby 2011). Overall, the offenders stated that they were very likely to recommend restorative
justice to people in situations similar to their own. When asked what was important to them in the
evaluation, they replied that they found that it helped clear the air and allowed them to work
things out with the victim (Shapland, Robinson and Sorsby 2011). Being able to explain
themselves, to answer questions to clear things up, to apologise to the victim and to find closure
were all said to be beneficial for the offenders. Even the offenders that had been in prison
mentioned closure, showing that punishment isn t enough on its own to allow the offenders to pay
their debt. This leaves unfinished business in the sense that they never apologised, which prevents
the lead to making a change in one s life while also affecting the victim just as equally. With

Ballad of Birmingham by Dudley Randall Essay
Ballad of Birmingham by Dudley Randall
In Ballad of Birmingham, Dudley Randall illustrates a conflict between a child who wishes to
march for civil rights and a mother who wishes only to protect her child. Much of this poem is
read as dialogue between a mother and a child, a style which gives it an intimate tone and provides
insight to the feelings of the characters. Throughout the poem the child is eager to go into
Birmingham and march for freedom with the people there. The mother, on the other hand, is very
adamant that the child should not go because it is dangerous. It is obvious that the child is
concerned about the events surrounding the march and wants to be part of the movement. The
child expresses these feelings in a way ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
shows the mother?s inability to see her daughter?s desire to go march as anything more than a
childish fancy. The mother?s attitude toward the march is an unreasonable fear for her child?s
safety, a state of mind that alludes to her detachment from the events and opinions that fuel the
march. When compared to that of the child, the mother?s approach to the march is that of one who
is uninformed and unconcerned.
The mother?s detachment and idealism lead her to believe that the church is the safest place for her
child. She feels that upon entering the church, the child will be removed from the world around her
and the violence that engulfs it. This also points to the mother?s belief that remaining oblivious to
the source of the civil unrest will make them disappear. When she tells the child to go to the church,
she is in effect showing her feelings that attending church is the important thing to do and that the
problems of the world outside will be resolved without any further effort.
When the mother sends her child off to church, she brushes her hair, bathes her, and puts white
shoes and gloves on her. This effort put into creating an image of beauty and peace in her child
shows that the mother is trying to forget about the suffering of the people who are fighting for
freedom that she is doing nothing to aid. When she sees her child this way, she feels that she has

Pulmonary Mycobacterium Avium Complex ( Mac ) Infection
1.0 Abstract
Pulmonary Mycobacterium avium complex (MAC) infection may represent the next major health
concern for immunocompromised patients; however the exact pathogenesis remains largely
unknown. Current therapy consists of combined antibiotic treatment but bacterial eradication is
frequently unsuccessful and the appearance of macrolide resistant non tuberculous mycobacteria
(NTM) strains is cause for concern. In other mycobacterial disease such as tuberculosis (TB),
infected mononuclear cells secrete soluble factors capable of driving unopposed secretion of
proteolytic enzymes from stromal cells, which appears to be a causative factor for matrix
degradation and progressive cavitary lung disease. As the pathophysiology of pulmonary MAC ...
Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The route of transmission for MAC is via inhalation or ingestion; thus this complex is capable of
causing pulmonary or gastrointestinal disease, which frequently becomes disseminated
systemically (6). Due to their presence in the environment, MAC infections are relatively common,
yet rarely pathogenic (5).
2.2 Epidemiology
Pulmonary NTM disease is an emerging infection with increasing incidence and morbidity,
occurring mainly in areas with decreasing prevalence of TB (1, 7 9). This changing
epidemiology may be attributed to an increasing prevalence of the susceptible host; as the
survival of at risk patient groups is increasing, owing to improvements in medical health care. A
previous lack of accurate diagnosis due to unawareness of NTM disease may also be attributed to
this trend, and finally, a potential decrease in cross protective herd immunity due to reduced
exposure to TB and/or the dimished use of Bacillus Calmette GuГ©rin (BCG) vaccination may r
contributing factors (1, 10).
Patients at risk of developing a MAC associated lung disease are those with pre existing pulmonary

Feminism In Desiree s Baby
Kate Chopin s Desiree s Baby is a short story about a girl named Desiree who is abandoned, then
adopted into a wealthy family. Young Desiree soon grows up and falls in love with a slave
owner, Armand, with whom she conceives a son with only to discover that her child s appearance
consists of African descent characteristics. Chopin narrates the issues of oppression and loss of
identity during a historical period of time through Desiree s character. Derek Foster and Kris
LeJeune s critique, focusing on the feminist standpoint of Desiree s Baby, attempts to demonstrates
how Desiree s act to flee into the bayou is her first accomplishment of independence.

Foster and LeJeune s critique discloses the idea that Desiree s flee into the bayou is her first act
of independence since she had been with Armand. Chopin presents Desiree as a character
illustrated how the human spirit often suffers from powerlessness. (Short Story Criticism, vol.171
Foster and LeJeune,pg 155) From the time that Desiree and Armand tied the knot, she was no
longer her own person, but solely Armands property. Armand never calls Desiree by name; thus ,
he never affords her a title. (Short Story Criticism, vol.171 Foster and LeJeune,pg 155) This
emphasizes the Desiree s identity becomes lost within the male s identity even moreso once Desiree
bares Armand s child which shows African Americancharacteristics. The idea of Armand s child
not being purely white, altered Armand s character towards Desiree which left Desiree with no
choice other than to leave his side with her child. As Chopin narrates: She [Desiree] disappeared
among the reeds and willows that grew thick along the banks of the deep, sluggish bayou: and
she did not come back again. ( Short Story Criticism, vol.171 Foster and LeJeune,pg 157) Foster
and LeJeune stated It is by fleeing that she avoids such loss when she escapes to the reeds and
willows . ( Short Story Criticism, vol.171 Foster and Jeune,pg 157) This insinuates that Desiree s
choice to leave, was a her choice to disembark her state of oppression and embark on her new life

A Summary And Suggestions Of The Bank Essay
CHAPTER 5
5.1.1 FINDINGS AND SUGGESTIONS
The Bank has to do lot of work why people are still financially excluded even after 68 years of
independence and design policies to ensure inclusion of the poor and disadvantaged people. The
strategy could vary from village to village but all efforts should be made in this way as financial
inclusion can truly lift the financial condition and standards of life of the poor and the
disadvantaged people of Jammu Kashmir. Large percentage of loans is taken by households for
meeting financial emergency, medical emergency and social obligations like marriages, etc. These
three purposes amount to 53% of the loans availed by the people. More than 60% of people/farmers
are indebted to non institutional sources. In case of crisis, these people find it convenient to
approach non institutional sources for their credit necessities. Financial emergencies, for instance
include unforeseen expenditure on business, consumption, marriage among others, which may not
be financed by banks and other institutional organizations. Need specific loans / credit schemes can
attract the people towards the banking domain.
In India when financial inclusion started it was just to have minimum access to bank accounts
without frills. But actually financial inclusion scope is very wide it doesn t mean just to have a
zero balance account. Even many account holders can t recall when they opened these accounts

Contemporary Issues Of Hotel Management Essay

Hotel Brand Strategy
Critique Article # 1
Sagar Sharma
1/2/2015
The critique of the article has been done to identify some assumptions that are being made by the
authors, further challenging them and proving the point to be valid or not.
Assumption 1. In the given article the authors have discussed about the effects of branding of a hotel
on its existing and potential guests as well as the owners or management. In this assumption the
authors strongly believe that the customer satisfaction is strongly being affected by the franchising
strategy of the brand adopted by the franchisees.
Evidence by the author
Although the assumption made by the authors clearly says that franchising strategy of brand has
negative effects on the customer satisfaction but he evidence provided by the author in support of
the assumption partially agrees and partially disagrees with the assertion. According to a study
conducted during the years 2000 to 2003 for two hotels (La Quinta Inn Suites and Westin Hotels) a
decline of 2.6% in guest satisfaction was seen when La Quinta Inn Suites franchised 25.8% of its
total hotels whereas on the other hand an increase of 6.4% in guest satisfaction was registered when
Westin group franchised 9.6% of its properties.
Challenging the assumption According to me the assumption made by the authors is absolutely
valid. In the current scenario the guests have become more demanding and brand conscious. I

The Four Types of Paragraphs
THE FOUR TYPES OF PARAGRAPHS (With Examples)
There are four types of paragraphs we write. They include: narrative, informative, descriptive, and
persuasive. All paragraphs have certain elements, but the four types are also different from one
another in how they are composed. Look at the outline about paragraphs in general.
All paragraphs:
1. It has a strong beginning, or introduction sentence, which states the main idea clearly.
2. It has several supporting sentences which make up the body, and support the main idea. All
sentences in the supporting details should back up, or point to, that main idea. The details should
be strong and vivid. The sentence structure and length should vary.

All that was left was the bathroom and my bedroom. I snuck into the bedroom, wielding the
sharp knife in terror, and bent over to look under the bed. No one was there. I silently released
my breath and turned toward the closet. I opened the closet carefully and switched on the light.
Again, no one was there. I had one place left to look: the bathroom. This was probably the
hardest place, because I had seen too many movies where someone was hiding in the shower.
Nonetheless, I crept into the tiny bathroom and flipped on the light switch. The navy blue
shower curtain hung there concealing whatever fate lay before me. I reached my hand out
toward the curtain, paused a moment, steeling myself and summoning the last of my courage,
and committed myself to the search. I grabbed the edge of the curtain and whipped it back in a
flash, preparing myself to use the knife on the fiend hiding in there. I trembled as the knife
dropped out of my hand. No one was there. Relief flooded me so strongly that I nearly crumpled
to the floor. Later, after I had called my boyfriend back, he remembered that he had gone by the
apartment while I was gone and dropped off a book I was reading. I had forgotten that he had a
key. He had forgotten he d been there and closed the door. That was one wild homecoming!

The Pros And Cons Of Cybercloying
Every year, billions of dollars is being lost due to cybercrime and security. Harassment, Identity
theft, online predators, and ransom are some of the most cybercrimes being committed, that s
causing the most harm to billions of people.
First, there are many forms of harassment that can take place online. There is cyberbullying,
cyberstalking, and internet trolling. Although all three deals with harassment, they all mean
something different. Cyberbullying is bullying that takes place via social media, apps, gaming,
share content, text and etc. It includes posting, sharing, commenting, and sometimes even reacting
to false or even mean comments regarding another person. No Bullying: The World s Authority on
Bulling, reported that in 2016, over nine million people have looked for some type of help or
asked for advice regarding cyber bullying (NoBullying Bullying CyberBullying Resources, 2017).
Bully victims are between two to nine times more likely to attempt to commit suicide. It is
important to take note of this because the suicide age is starting to become younger as years go
one. For example, a eight year old Cincinnati, OH boy had committed suicide in his house.
Gabriel Taye committed suicide because he was being bullied at school by his peers and at his
school there was an incident where on camera you can see one of his peers hitting him causing
him to go unconscious. It was unclear if the child was being bullied online also because

This project delves into a sandy beach ecosystem, especially in regards to the intertidal zone,
otherwise known as the swash zone . Although the intertidal is a very unstable habitat it is home
to a variety of organisms which play a key role in the ecosystem. Mole crabs for examples thrive
in this habitat between land and sea. Because many animals, including fish, and birds eat Mole
crabs, they can serve as a major indicator species and can help to determine the health of the
environment. During this project our goal is to prove whether or not it is true that the commonly
larger female mole crabs are located lower in the swash zone than the generally smaller male mole

of legs that allow it to swim, crawl, and burrow, all of which [is] done backwards. (CITE ME)
Specialized antennae help the mole crabs for reparation and feeding. The food size for mole
crabs varies between .0004mm to 2mm in diameter. Mole crabs themselves fall prey to fish,
water birds and shorebirds, making them very important to the coastal food chain. Sand crabs
are usually found on the beach in large numbers from spring to fall ( Sand crab reproduction is
quite effective and important to understand. The reproductive season is generally from February
October, but they can in fact reproduce anytime during the year. Female mole crabs are capable
of producing a clutch of 50 45,000 eggs per month. The eggs are located under the telson and
appear as a bright orange mass. These eggs take 30 days to develop; once they hatch the larvae
are planktonic for 4 5 months. Mole crab larvae go through 8 11 stages and during this time they
may drift far offshore. If and when the larvae settle on the beach, they are known as recruits .

is stressful. But multiple demands on our time and energy are a part of everyone s life. Stress is
not how many demands you have in your life, but rather how you and your body respond to these
demands. For some, racing to meet a tight deadline or complete a long ToDo list can be positive
and energizing. It s important to learn what stress is, at what point it becomes harmful, and options

Mr. Thompson
Hideki Tojo, one of the worst rulers to live?
Background
Hello, I am former Prime Minister of Japan known as Hideki Tojo. I was a man who was born
December 30, 1884, and lived in a japanese district known as Kojimachi (Wikip). I was one of
three children under my father Hidenori Tojo who was a lieutenant general in the japanese imperial
army. in 1899, I entered the Army Cadet School, worked hard to get a reputation, and ended being
commissioned as a 2nd lieutenant in the IJA Imperial Japanese Army(Wikipedia). I then married
my lovely wife Katsuko Ito and had seven kids. I had lots of experience in military and politics
as time went on. I was the prime minister of japan from 1941 to 1944 when japan was fighting
the U.S. in world war II. I was promoted in 1934 to the general and chief personnel in the Army
Ministry. In 1940 i became the Minister of war for japan. We could see our country by this time
being just as powerful as the european countries. Hitler, a good friend of mine during WWII,
admired what we were doing with japan, and that we would soon be a superpower. The need for
supplies to further advance our military was needed, so we started advancing through the pacific,
island hopping. we had a feeling that as we moved forward, the chance of the US starting a war
would be inevitable. So in 1941, after the US stopped transporting supplies to japan due to our
advancements in the pacific, I ordered

The Most Common Ways People Identify Themselves
Race is one of the most common ways people identify themselves. There are different advantages
and disadvantages associated with different races. People are often judged on how they look and
act. Some people benefit more than others just based on race. Others can be put at a disadvantage
because of their sexual orientation. The familyyou are born into can have a major impact on how
you are seen and what type of privileges and struggles you will face in life. Looking at my life
specifically, I will reflect on how the culture, including race and gender, from the past and present
can influence people s lives in general and in education. My mom s side of the family arrived in the
United States in the late 1800 s. Both of my grandmother and grandfather s families came to the
United States voluntarily. My grandmother s family came from England. Her grandfather, who
came from an affluent family, first arrived in Ellis Island, New York, but later settled in the
Maryland Eastern Shore. Similarly, my grandfather s family settled in the Maryland Eastern
Shore after coming from Czech Republic. Though they came voluntarily, they feared the Russians
taking over their country so decided to leave. On each side of the family, farming was the main
type of work they engaged in. Both sides started attending school in the early 1900 s. At this time
it was only common to attend school for a few years because staying at home to attend the farm
was more of priority than formal schooling. My

New Method Of Ultrahard Material Synthesis
New Method in Ultrahard Material Synthesis: CS2 Catalyzed Ultrahard Fullerite
Ultrahard materials is a broad category define by materials that are harder than diamond. Diamond,
thought to be the hardest material for centuries hasn t been the hardest material seen by scientists in
a long time. Many materials have been developed or discovered recently that surpass the 150 GPa
hardness of diamond by as much as 100%. There are many ways to measure the hardness of a
material, from the classic scratch test to more complicated bulk modulus calculations. Other tests of
hardness include indentation and rebound tests, or measurements of the elastic and shear modulus.
Ultrahard fullerite is one such material that has surpassed diamond with values ... Show more

Structural studies of fullerite are hampered by its lack of a 4 or 6 fold axis, so long term periodicity
in fullerite s crystal lattice isn t possible for covalently bonded fullerene molecules in three
dimensions. TEM studies have shown a sequence of FCC phases that have been explained by
bonded fullerene chains formation. Because of this difficulty, researchers have turned to Raman
spectroscopy to study the polymerization, which has features explained by the C60 phonon spectra
perturbations by intermolecular covalent bonding. The 3D polymerized phases produced in
ultrahard fullerite synthesis are phase IV and V, where phase V is the desired ultrahard fullerite.
Phase V is translucent in the near IR or visible range having a Raman spectrum containing two
broad peaks around 1550 cm 1 and around 500 cm 1.
Prior to research by Popov et al., the synthesis conditions of ultrahard fullerite depended on a
degree of plastic deformation and stress tensor variation of a sample under compression. The
minimum required pressure for synthesis was 13 GPa at 1100 K, or 18 GPa at room temperature,
both of which aren t suitable for industrial production without a catalyst. The polymerization of
fullerene molecules starts under sunlight irradiation at ambient temperatures to create dimers.
These simple conditions for these intermolecular bonds to form led researchers to hypothesize

The Hungry King George Chapter Summary
The story, The Hungry, Hungry King George represents a brief summary of the events that led up
to the American Revolutionary War. After the Seven Years Was (also known as the French and
Indian War) King George III needed a significant amount of money as he was in debt. This idea is
depicted in the story as his ongoing hunger, or need to pay this debt, that cannot be satisfied.
Throughout the story, the phrase But, he was still hungry is continuously repeated to demonstrate
the amount of taxes and restraints that were placed on the colonist under the rule of King George
III. This can also be discerned from the illustrations in the book. There are two major aspects that
signify this: the increasing amount of King George s gold and his expanding waistline. King

For example, the Boston Massacre, where five colonists were killed by British soldiers after the

of the war, such as the Battle of Concord or the critical Battle of Saratoga, were not included, but
can be surmised, to keep the story concise and to hold the attention of the younger readers
(Holguin). Although it can be inferred, The Hungry, Hungry King George did not directly identify
how the colonist retaliated, through boycotts and other events, against the King and the British
Parliament before the war occurred. One example of this is displayed through the Colonist s
Boston Tea Party where they dressed up as Native Americans and dumped 18 thousand pounds of
Tea into the Boston Harbor (Independence Hall Association). It is also important to note that this
story can be a highly subjective view as it is from the perspective of the colonist only and excludes
other major viewpoints of the war/(altercations between the colonies and the

Irony In Fahrenheit 451 By Ray Bradbury
Anatole France once said, Irony is the gaiety of reflection and the joy of wisdom. Ray Bradbury
uses multiple examples of irony in his novel. In Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury, the story takes
place in a futuristic dystopian society, where books are illegal. In this society, people spend
most of their time watching TV and they hardly talk to anyone. Guy Montag is a fireman who
burns books. He is content with his job, until he meets a young girl named Clarisse who is
different from the rest of society, which causes him to think. When he later witnesses an old
woman burning herself with her books, Montag feels guilty about his job. He secretly tries to
preserve books, which causes some problems for him because it is illegal. Through the help of
an old man named Faber, Montag is able to preserve some books and later starts to build a new
society. Bradbury clearly uses many examples of irony such as the different role of firemen in the
society, Montag going against his duty, and the society being burned in the end. One irony that
Bradbury uses in Fahrenheit 451is the different role of firemen in the society. The firemen in this
society are very different from the firemen in our society. For example, when Montag told Clarisse
that he was a fireman, Clarisse asked, Is it true that long ago firemen put fires out instead of going
to start them? (Bradbury 8). Clarisse heard that firemen used to extinguish fires instead of starting
them, but Montag disagrees. This is

Reusable Software Development Essay
The quality and reliability of software today is expected to be extremely high. Software is being
included in engines of automobiles, robots, x ray machines at hospitals; it is no surprise that
software is expected to operate correctly almost all the time. This reliability comes at a cost of
increasing complexity. With the increase in complexity, software development teams are getting
larger and maintenance is becoming more difficult. Although developers are dealing with these
problems project dates are still very rigorous and projects can seem impossible to complete on
time. Due to these problems, software development costs are rising which is increasing the cost of
software for consumers. Without new practices to develop software... Show more content on

Reuse base software development uses a similar methodology. By using what has already been
created we can modify or improve it to make a better product then what has been previously
developed. While software reuse may not alleviate all the problems the developer faces it can
certainly help lower the demands put on the development team. Reuse based software
development requires a different methodology to create large robust systems that can be used
again and again. A traditional software development methodology isn t efficient enough to create
reusable software. While smaller systems can be reused with relative ease, larger systems have a
cost associated to developing them with reuse in mind. Project planning must include extra time
for designing, implementing and testing these reusable assets as opposed to system specific
functionality. There also may be costs associated with training people on these new tools and
assets that are required to be used with a reuse base software methodology. Therefore, companies
are usually reluctant in incorporating software reuse into their development cycle, but over the past
10 years there has been a gradual transition to reuse based development. The move to reuse based
development is in response to companies seeing their software as a valuable asset and are
promoting reuse to increase their return on software investments (Sommerville, 416). Using

The clock ticked down as we had less than thirty minutes to find our way out of the labyrinth that

The Theology Of The Child
Theology of the Child Children are God s greatest gift to the world. Every day, thousands of
millions of children have been neglected not just by their parents, but also by his or her community.
Since the beginning of Genesis time, children have always played an important part of humanity.
The countless scriptures provided in the Biblegive a clear example about the significance of
children. God s outlook of children in the Bible extends evidential scriptural truth of God s role in
our life as a parent.

Farmers Who Often Carry Guns And Run Prisons
The XPCC: Farmers Who Sometimes Carry Guns and Run Prisons
Faced with an alarming rise in Xinjiang violence over the last two years, Beijing is searching for a
high visibility, public solution. Most recently, officials attention has settled on the Xinjiang
Production and Construction Corps (XPCC), known informally in Chinese as bingtuan ( Corps ).
While it has been a martial organization in name and structure since its inception, the international
media is getting ahead of itself in playing up the military role played by Xinjiang s bingtuan.
Controlling 700,000 hectares, almost 30% of Xinjiang s arable land, along with 2.6 million

The ebb and flow of political sentiment has left its mark on the structure and raison d ГЄtre of the
XPCC. By the early 1970s, the organization had visibly suffered from its experience of the Cultural
Revolution, the only time the organization has ever been directly overseen by the army. In 1979,
however, the Soviets invaded Afghanistan and the latent threat posed by the USSR became more
active. Chinese leadership, newly recovered from the death of Mao, felt surrounded. Already in a
heated hearts and minds propaganda competition with the Soviets for Xinjiang s Muslim minority
groups, the importance of Xinjiang to the geopolitics of an isolated PRC suddenly crystalized.
In a decisive reversal that highlights officials sense of insecurity, the XPCC was restored in 1981
during a time when other border provinces bingtuan were being permanently abolished (such as
Hainan s, abolished just two years before).
Since the fall of the Soviet Union, the XPCC has continued to play a quiet but ubiquitous role in
Xinjiang s development. However, the circumstances surrounding the organization s reinstatement
does not mean that the post 1981 bingtuan was any more substantively militarily oriented than
before. Instead, its primary practical function increasingly became the generation of profits.

At 3:00 PM on Sunday April 13th, 2014, I attended the performance Shared Graduate Dance
Concert at the Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center Dance Theatre. Walking into the theatre I
had anticipated experiencing an upright performance. This sensation came as I visited the website
for the Shared Graduate Concert and saw a breath taking photo that entailed a person behind a
curtain holding their hand up and a fuzzy person in front of a curtain. Also, I knew I was in for a
good ride after I saw Meghan Bowden in the pamphlet.
The temperament of the performance Canned Soup shook the audience out of their chairs. This
scene in particular stood out to me the most. The woman dressed in a just a bathing suit, a pretty
dark scene with only a beaming red light, and absolutely no music, obscured a unique type of
humor during her performance. The scene was comprised of a small swimming pool, canned
soup, and side performers dressed in black clothing with ties. In place of music Lynne Price was

previous depictions. The goal of this paper is to show that the morality of Batman and Superman
have altered due to the extension of their personalities. The paper is claiming that Batmanand
Superman act as extensions of their formerly depicted selves by overindulging in their personal
beliefs and ideologies as each of them struggle to with their morality by trying to do the right thing
in a world gone wrong. This claim was created by examining and analyzing the primary text of The
Dark Knight Rises by Frank Miller and by using various credible online sources and interpretations
of the graphic novel. Upon examination of the sources used, morality plays a key role in the
character development of two main characters of Batman and Superman. Through showing that the
extension of personality has an impact on the perception of a character, this paper and research
highlight the differences and similarities of Batman and Superman in terms of morality and
character development.

Introduction: Human immunodeficiency virus infection and acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (HIV/AIDS) is a pandemic which infects the human immune system with the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV).1 The term HIV/AIDS describes the entire cascade and progression of disease from the initial infection with HIV to the later, more severe stage of AIDS. It is a global pandemic that affects 35 million people (2013) worldwide and 35, 287 people in Australia. 2,3 Dentists need to be acknowledgeable of this rapidly spreading disease and understand how to manage patients with HIV /AIDS. The human immunodeficiency virus is a lentivirus (retrovirus), which attacks Helper T cells, specifically CD4 lymphocytes causing the progressive deterioration of the immune system.4 Initially when HIV is contracted, there is a period if 2 to 6 weeks called seroconversion where HIV antibodies are not detectable. During this period the patient may experience flu like symptoms due to the initial immune reaction.4 Next, there is a clinical, asymptomatic phase, which can last up to 10 years, and during this time the CD4 count decreases, causing gradual immunodeficiency. This lead to opportunistic infections such as oral candidiasis (thrush).4 Eventually, the AIDS stage of the disease is reached and there are more serious opportunistic infections and malignancies. Kant and Priori Synthetic Truths Transcendental aesthetic deals with objects that can be perceived only as far as the mind can perceive it, the mind can only know of those things that we are capable of sensing and feeling. A synthetic judgment is one that connects the concept of B and A, but is not contained within each other. Synthetic truths are those that that are true by virtue of empirical a fact that is to say that its meanings and truths are determined by intuitions which can be representations of something that we hold in our mind. Synthetic a priori truths are necessarily true and underdetermined by sensory impressions, its truths are not determined by truth functional factors alone, and these truths are based on intuition. Synthetic priori knowledge occurs when our mind organizes experiences so that they become necessary and universal facts of our experience, since we don t experience causation this is how the mind distinguishes between events, it helps us gain knowledge about the world. A priori judgments are those that actually exist in the sciences and along with pure a priori judgments in mathematics. A priori knowledge is that which is independent of experience like mathematics. A priori knowledge is known through reason and through an understanding of how something works instead of observing it. Two types of a priori cognition are space and time. • 5. Graffiti Research Papers Graffiti has existed for several decades and it s still going strong. By the definition of any type of writing on the wall, it actually goes back to ancient Rome. The style of urban graffiti, that most identify as graffiti, came from New York City in the late 1960s. It was born by the tagging of subway trains. Tagging means, that they would simply leave their signature in places. For tagging on the insides of trains, permanent markers worked, but using spray cans of paint quickly became popular as well, especially for tagging on the outside of trains. Soon, graffiti became more than just simple tagging, because the graffiti artists, would try to exceed each other in terms of style. At first, writers would try to make their tags more stylish than anyone else s. Later on, they would add more colours, special effects, and make their name bigger. Graffiti really evolved into a complex art form with its own techniques and vocabulary. Their discoveries found that the corn used to make popcorn has been around for 4,000 years. Popcorn was very popular in the 1890s until the Great Depression. During this time street vendors would walk around with their poppers through parks, fairs, and expositions. Popcorn during the Great Depression was a real treat and one of the few things that families could afford. Mrs. Luella Bates Washington Jones from the short story, Thank You, M am, is an indelible character because of many outstanding personality traits that she possesses. Mrs. Jones s authority is one personality trait that shows how significant she is for the reader. Moreover, her generosity and ability to understand others exemplify how notable Mrs. Jones is for the readers of the short story. Some nations have had bigger contributions than others. I think the New Netherlands played the biggest role in both political and economic America today. New Netherlands was established ,originally, as a trade post. As a direct result of the post there was a level of tolerance that was necessary. It was this level of tolerance that shaped the way we ,should, behave today. The trading post lead to a decidedly corporate character, making growth difficult. Slaves played a fundamental part of shaping the deep south we see today. With the ever growing demand for slaves people were being brought in from everywhere and this resulted in a large melting pot of cultures. These melting pots created new languages, culinary practices and even music a majority of which are still in practice today. In places like Alabama racism was and probably is still a huge issue. I believe this was derived from the caste system, which placed american americans at the bottom. White then gained a sense of superiority and even after slavery was abolished racism was still a very real thing. In some parts of the deep south there is still a white prom and a black prom. Some may say that the idea of revolting against injustices is embedded in our DNA; perhaps this may be true, but regardless, protesting has been a sign for craving transformation. Dating back from American Revolutionto Black Lives matter, protesthas been the only guaranteed freedom that gives us a voice to alter our future. • 11. The Great Divide And Abortion Essay The Great Divide Abortion is dividing America. Without a common understanding of abortion, this issue will always be divisive in America. Throughout the history of America, abortion has been an issue that has generally separated people into two camps, those in favor of abortion and those against abortion. However, these two groups, more often than not, have not approached their understanding of this issue from the same perspective. Generally speaking, those in favor of abortion see the issue of the personal rights of women. However, those against abortion, view the issue of the rights of the child. As a result, these two perspectives will never gain unity or a common understanding of abortion. The purpose of this paper is to not only give a clear understanding of both sides of the issue, but to argue that this issue will never be a unifying issue in American culture. A simple definition of abortion provides a common starting point for understanding this divisive issue. The Webster s New World Dictionary defines abortion as a premature expulsion of a fetus so that it does not live, especially if induced on purpose (2). The fact that the fetus cannot survive independently outside of the mother s womb due to an abortion presents a continuous debate. Ultimately this debate hinges on the point in time the fetus becomes a human being. Mark Y. Herring quotes the text from Abortion, Medicine and Law, Abortion implies intent or purpose, but statutes frequently spell it out anyway, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Reduction In Trade Barriers Essay Does a reduction in trade barriers cause a country to move closer to its production possibilities curve or does it cause the production possibilities curve to shift outward? Reduction in trade barriers causes a country s production possibilities curve to move outward because of limited resources. Lets the Europe for an example, It has a population is close to 731 million and it is rich in skilled labor. It has big economies such as France, England and Germany but it does not have much raw materials. A decrease or reduction in tradebarriers will ultimately lead increase in economic activity or an outward shirt in production possibilities curve. This is also magnified by the prosperous economic activity of European Union. After the WWII, Europe was in ruins and it was only with the help of Marshall Plan that it managed to stand on its feet. But reasons which are downplayed on a broader spectrum are the lifting of trade restriction of different countries of Europe; citizens of the Members of the European Union can travel from one country to other for Jobs, thus increase in labor in that country. Germany after the war had abundant amount of skill labor but it lacked finances to properly incorporate labor. That was when French Foreign Minister Robert Schuman put forward the proposal of production of Iron and Steel Production between Germany and France. Restorative Justice Restorative justice focuses on repairing the damage created by a crime in an alternative way to the classic, punish based systems that are commonly used throughout most parts of the world (Boslaugh 2013). With these findings, the offenders views on the different measures of satisfaction shows inter correlation with those views of the victims (Shapland, Robinson and Sorsby 2011). Being able to explain themselves, to answer questions to clear things up, to apologise to the victim and to find closure were all said to be beneficial for the offenders. Even the offenders that had been in prison mentioned closure, showing that punishment isn t enough on its own to allow the offenders to pay their debt. Ballad of Birmingham by Dudley Randall Essay Ballad of Birmingham by Dudley Randall In Ballad of Birmingham, Dudley Randall illustrates a conflict between a child who wishes to march for civil rights and a mother who wishes only to protect her child. Much of this poem is read as dialogue between a mother and a child, a style which gives it an intimate tone and provides insight to the feelings of the characters. Throughout the poem the child is eager to go into Birmingham and march for freedom with the people there. The mother, on the other hand, is very adamant that the child should not go because it is dangerous. It is obvious that the child is concerned about the events surrounding the march and wants to be part of the movement. The child expresses these feelings in a way ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... shows the mother?s inability to see her daughter?s desire to go march as anything more than a childish fancy. The mother?s attitude toward the march is an unreasonable fear for her child?s safety, a state of mind that alludes to her detachment from the events and opinions that fuel the march. When compared to that of the child, the mother?s approach to the march is that of one who is uninformed and unconcerned. The mother?s detachment and idealism lead her to believe that the church is the safest place for her child. She feels that upon entering the church, the child will be removed from the world around her and the violence that engulfs it. This also points to the mother?s belief that remaining oblivious to the source of the civil unrest will make them disappear. When she tells the child to go to the church, she is in effect showing her feelings that attending church is the important thing to do and that the problems of the world outside will be resolved without any further effort. When the mother sends her child off to church, she brushes her hair, bathes her, and puts white shoes and gloves on her. Assumption 1. In the given article the authors have discussed about the effects of branding of a hotel on its existing and potential guests as well as the owners or management. In this assumption the authors strongly believe that the customer satisfaction is strongly being affected by the franchising strategy of the brand adopted by the franchisees. • 31. Analysis Of Hideki Tojo, One Of The Worst Rulers Due May 15th Brayden Miller Period 7 May 14th, 2015 Mr. Thompson Hideki Tojo, one of the worst rulers to live? Background Hello, I am former Prime Minister of Japan known as Hideki Tojo. I was a man who was born December 30, 1884, and lived in a japanese district known as Kojimachi (Wikip). I was one of three children under my father Hidenori Tojo who was a lieutenant general in the japanese imperial army. in 1899, I entered the Army Cadet School, worked hard to get a reputation, and ended being commissioned as a 2nd lieutenant in the IJA Imperial Japanese Army(Wikipedia). I then married my lovely wife Katsuko Ito and had seven kids. I had lots of experience in military and politics as time went on. I was the prime minister of japan from 1941 to 1944 when japan was fighting the U.S. in world war II. I was promoted in 1934 to the general and chief personnel in the Army Ministry. In 1940 i became the Minister of war for japan. We could see our country by this time being just as powerful as the european countries. Hitler, a good friend of mine during WWII, admired what we were doing with japan, and that we would soon be a superpower. The need for supplies to further advance our military was needed, so we started advancing through the pacific, island hopping. we had a feeling that as we moved forward, the chance of the US starting a war would be inevitable. So in 1941, after the US stopped transporting supplies to japan due to our advancements in the pacific, I ordered ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 32. The Most Common Ways People Identify Themselves Race is one of the most common ways people identify themselves. There are different advantages and disadvantages associated with different races. People are often judged on how they look and act. Some people benefit more than others just based on race. Others can be put at a disadvantage because of their sexual orientation. The familyyou are born into can have a major impact on how you are seen and what type of privileges and struggles you will face in life. Looking at my life specifically, I will reflect on how the culture, including race and gender, from the past and present can influence people s lives in general and in education. My mom s side of the family arrived in the United States in the late 1800 s. Both of my grandmother and grandfather s families came to the United States voluntarily. My grandmother s family came from England. Her grandfather, who came from an affluent family, first arrived in Ellis Island, New York, but later settled in the Maryland Eastern Shore. Similarly, my grandfather s family settled in the Maryland Eastern Shore after coming from Czech Republic. Though they came voluntarily, they feared the Russians taking over their country so decided to leave. On each side of the family, farming was the main type of work they engaged in. Both sides started attending school in the early 1900 s. At this time it was only common to attend school for a few years because staying at home to attend the farm was more of priority than formal schooling. My ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 33. New Method Of Ultrahard Material Synthesis New Method in Ultrahard Material Synthesis: CS2 Catalyzed Ultrahard Fullerite Ultrahard materials is a broad category define by materials that are harder than diamond. Diamond, thought to be the hardest material for centuries hasn t been the hardest material seen by scientists in a long time. Many materials have been developed or discovered recently that surpass the 150 GPa hardness of diamond by as much as 100%. There are many ways to measure the hardness of a material, from the classic scratch test to more complicated bulk modulus calculations. Other tests of hardness include indentation and rebound tests, or measurements of the elastic and shear modulus. Ultrahard fullerite is one such material that has surpassed diamond with values ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Structural studies of fullerite are hampered by its lack of a 4 or 6 fold axis, so long term periodicity in fullerite s crystal lattice isn t possible for covalently bonded fullerene molecules in three dimensions. TEM studies have shown a sequence of FCC phases that have been explained by bonded fullerene chains formation. Because of this difficulty, researchers have turned to Raman spectroscopy to study the polymerization, which has features explained by the C60 phonon spectra perturbations by intermolecular covalent bonding. The 3D polymerized phases produced in ultrahard fullerite synthesis are phase IV and V, where phase V is the desired ultrahard fullerite. Phase V is translucent in the near IR or visible range having a Raman spectrum containing two broad peaks around 1550 cm 1 and around 500 cm 1. Prior to research by Popov et al., the synthesis conditions of ultrahard fullerite depended on a degree of plastic deformation and stress tensor variation of a sample under compression. The minimum required pressure for synthesis was 13 GPa at 1100 K, or 18 GPa at room temperature, both of which aren t suitable for industrial production without a catalyst. The polymerization of fullerene molecules starts under sunlight irradiation at ambient temperatures to create dimers. These simple conditions for these intermolecular bonds to form led researchers to hypothesize ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 34. The Hungry King George Chapter Summary The story, The Hungry, Hungry King George represents a brief summary of the events that led up to the American Revolutionary War. After the Seven Years Was (also known as the French and Indian War) King George III needed a significant amount of money as he was in debt. This idea is depicted in the story as his ongoing hunger, or need to pay this debt, that cannot be satisfied. Throughout the story, the phrase But, he was still hungry is continuously repeated to demonstrate the amount of taxes and restraints that were placed on the colonist under the rule of King George III. This can also be discerned from the illustrations in the book. There are two major aspects that signify this: the increasing amount of King George s gold and his expanding waistline. King George s weight... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For example, the Boston Massacre, where five colonists were killed by British soldiers after the colonist started throwing snowballs at the soldiers, was left out (Holguin). In addition, the battles of the war, such as the Battle of Concord or the critical Battle of Saratoga, were not included, but can be surmised, to keep the story concise and to hold the attention of the younger readers (Holguin). Although it can be inferred, The Hungry, Hungry King George did not directly identify how the colonist retaliated, through boycotts and other events, against the King and the British Parliament before the war occurred. One example of this is displayed through the Colonist s Boston Tea Party where they dressed up as Native Americans and dumped 18 thousand pounds of Tea into the Boston Harbor (Independence Hall Association). It is also important to note that this story can be a highly subjective view as it is from the perspective of the colonist only and excludes other major viewpoints of the war/(altercations between the colonies and the ... As the temperatureof the water environment decreased by two degrees every 2 minutes, to the beaker the goldfish was in, the number of breathing rate of the goldfish decreased at least 10 respirations each time. • 36. Irony In Fahrenheit 451 By Ray Bradbury Anatole France once said, Irony is the gaiety of reflection and the joy of wisdom. Ray Bradbury uses multiple examples of irony in his novel. In Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury, the story takes place in a futuristic dystopian society, where books are illegal. In this society, people spend most of their time watching TV and they hardly talk to anyone. Guy Montag is a fireman who burns books. He is content with his job, until he meets a young girl named Clarisse who is different from the rest of society, which causes him to think. When he later witnesses an old woman burning herself with her books, Montag feels guilty about his job. He secretly tries to preserve books, which causes some problems for him because it is illegal. Through the help of an old man named Faber, Montag is able to preserve some books and later starts to build a new society. Bradbury clearly uses many examples of irony such as the different role of firemen in the society, Montag going against his duty, and the society being burned in the end. One irony that Bradbury uses in Fahrenheit 451is the different role of firemen in the society. The firemen in this society are very different from the firemen in our society. For example, when Montag told Clarisse that he was a fireman, Clarisse asked, Is it true that long ago firemen put fires out instead of going to start them? (Bradbury 8). Clarisse heard that firemen used to extinguish fires instead of starting them, but Montag disagrees. This is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Software is being included in engines of automobiles, robots, x ray machines at hospitals; it is no surprise that software is expected to operate correctly almost all the time. This reliability comes at a cost of increasing complexity. With the increase in complexity, software development teams are getting larger and maintenance is becoming more difficult. Although developers are dealing with these problems project dates are still very rigorous and projects can seem impossible to complete on time. Due to these problems, software development costs are rising which is increasing the cost of software for consumers. Without new practices to develop software... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Reuse base software development uses a similar methodology. By using what has already been created we can modify or improve it to make a better product then what has been previously developed. While software reuse may not alleviate all the problems the developer faces it can certainly help lower the demands put on the development team. Reuse based software development requires a different methodology to create large robust systems that can be used again and again. A traditional software development methodology isn t efficient enough to create reusable software. While smaller systems can be reused with relative ease, larger systems have a cost associated to developing them with reuse in mind. Project planning must include extra time for designing, implementing and testing these reusable assets as opposed to system specific functionality. There also may be costs associated with training people on these new tools and assets that are required to be used with a reuse base software methodology. Therefore, companies are usually reluctant in incorporating software reuse into their development cycle, but over the past 10 years there has been a gradual transition to reuse based development. The move to reuse based development is in response to companies seeing their software as a valuable asset and are promoting reuse to increase their return on software investments (Sommerville, 416). Most recently, officials attention has settled on the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps (XPCC), known informally in Chinese as bingtuan ( Corps ). While it has been a martial organization in name and structure since its inception, the international media is getting ahead of itself in playing up the military role played by Xinjiang s bingtuan. By the early 1970s, the organization had visibly suffered from its experience of the Cultural Revolution, the only time the organization has ever been directly overseen by the army. In 1979, however, the Soviets invaded Afghanistan and the latent threat posed by the USSR became more active. Chinese leadership, newly recovered from the death of Mao, felt surrounded. Already in a heated hearts and minds propaganda competition with the Soviets for Xinjiang s Muslim minority groups, the importance of Xinjiang to the geopolitics of an isolated PRC suddenly crystalized. In a decisive reversal that highlights officials sense of insecurity, the XPCC was restored in 1981 during a time when other border provinces bingtuan were being permanently abolished (such as Hainan s, abolished just two years before). Since the fall of the Soviet Union, the XPCC has continued to play a quiet but ubiquitous role in Xinjiang s development. Walking into the theatre I had anticipated experiencing an upright performance. This sensation came as I visited the website for the Shared Graduate Concert and saw a breath taking photo that entailed a person behind a curtain holding their hand up and a fuzzy person in front of a curtain. Also, I knew I was in for a good ride after I saw Meghan Bowden in the pamphlet. The temperament of the performance Canned Soup shook the audience out of their chairs. This scene in particular stood out to me the most. The woman dressed in a just a bathing suit, a pretty dark scene with only a beaming red light, and absolutely no music, obscured a unique type of humor during her performance. The scene was comprised of a small swimming pool, canned soup, and side performers dressed in black clothing with ties.
