Innovation In Ww1
Tanks
Jack Elmes
How did tank innovation impact warfare and the soldiers who fought in the trenches during World
War One?
World War One was known as the First World War or The Great War. It began on the 28th of July
1914 and lasted until the 11th of November 1918. Thirty countries were involved in the war. Over
nine million soldiers died and twenty one million were wounded. Undeniably World War One was
one of the biggest and most devastating wars in history. Trench warfaretook those who signed up
by complete surprise. A war that was intended to be all about movement became stagnant. Soldiers
were very much stuck in the trenches and experienced horrendous conditions. As a result the use of
terrifying new technologies not used before were created in a response to the conditions of trench
warfare. This resulted in trench warfare being changed forever due to the introduction of the tank in
1915.
It has been stated ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The tank was the first armored machine to be used. It was adapted from tractors and its goal was
to break through the heavily fortified trenches and offer protection to the troops from any
artillery fire. British engineering was the origin of the first WW1 Landship , which became the
tank as we now know it. Tanks were a very important part of WW1 as they increased mobility on
the front line and broke the stalemate of trench warfare. The first tank ever used in military
conflict was at the battle of Flers Courcelette in September 1916. The first prototype tank came
out in 1915 by the British it was called little Willie, weighed 14 tons and could only travel at two
miles per hour. This tank was not used in warfare. Big Bertha was the most famous tank it had a
48 ton gun capable of firing a shell over 9 miles. It took 200 men several hours to assemble the gun.

However, according to Laudon and Traver (2012), financial analysis helps us to understand how
a firm is performing. There are two parts to a financial analysis: the statement of operations and
the balance sheet. The statement of operations tells us how much money (or loss) the firm is
achieving based on current sales and costs. The balance sheet tells us how many assets the firm
has to support its current and future operations. Moreover, Facebook is estimated to be worth at

The Exploitation Of Land Is Justified Essay
The economy today runs on an antiquated ritual of exploiting, plundering, devastation, and
manipulation of land for material wealth, profiting the wealthy and condemning the poor. This
mindset is no more sophisticated than feudalism, a system so bad it had to be outlawed along with
witchcraft. The idea that exploitation of land is justified has brought plastics to the ocean and
leveled rainforests. Large corporations have grown larger by manufacturing and production,
depleting the planet s resources in the process. Now, companies must make a combined effort to put
the environment first, before profit. Because of their harmful practices, consumers have the right to
know where products come from, how they re made, and the impact on the environment.
Furthermore, it is the responsibility of the large corporations to change their harmful practices, to
make strides towards ending climate changeand use clean, sustainable methods.
With the combination of polymers that don t biodegrade and mass overproduction, companies are
harming the environment in severe ways. Plastic, a material seen everywhere, is a polymer made
from oil. It is mass produced to make everything from shampoo bottles to automobiles and does not
biodegrade. When it is eventually thrown out, the waste usually finds it way into the ocean, where
it is either buried under sediment or eaten by marine life (Weisman 287 295). Creating a material
that will ultimately kill marine life will undoubtedly wreak havoc on the

Global Warming is a Hoax Essay
The essay opens up with McKibben talking about how the political campaign against global
warming is flawed because at our current point there is nothing much that can be done to fix
it.(Mckibben,1) He then goes to state that humans are the biggest culprit behind global warming
and supports this by giving examples such as SUVs and American ignorance.(2,9) He concludes
by saying that if ten percent of America were to go green, it still would not save the planet, but ten
percent could get the government s attention to pass laws making everyone go green. (11)
To start my response, I am of a personal belief that global warming is a hoax. Over the course of my
education, many of the arguments for global warming have been disproven to me. My ... Show more

Rising water temperatures actually have beneficial effects on coral. It is like leaving a plant in
the sun. I watched a documentary where the famous marine biologist, Jean Michel Cousteau,
talks about the Great Barrier Reef and how temperature affects it. Normally it sits comfortably
between 85 to 74 degrees Fahrenheit. Temperatures lower than 70 can cause the coral to turn
white and die. However, after the existing coral dies, new coral grows on top of it and the cycle
starts again. Aside from this this, coral has been known to adapt to survive in waters where the
temperature can get below 60 or rise above 90. So the coral population is in no real danger.
Another point he makes is that Polar bears are getting scrawnier because the seal habitat has
declined because global warming causes the ice to melt. This is false. A common fact global
warming supporters forget to mention is that arctic and Antarctic snowfall replenish the ice each
year. Polar bears and seals are more in danger of poaching than losing their habitat to global
warming. Both species are on the endangered list. However, weighing anywhere between 775 to
1,200 pounds. Polar bears are still the largest species of bear living on the planet.
So, in short, I have spent an hour and a half of my time to respond to a person who doesn t know
what he is talking about, doesn t cite his research, and is arguing for a theory that I myself haven t

School Counselor Career Goals
Career Position
My career goals include working as and becoming a certified school counselor in the State of
Florida, setting up the collaboration of district resources instead of the current departmental
divisions, and synergizing through a team approach. Given that I currently am in the position of
School Counselor I understand I need a deeper knowledge base to best serve the students. I believe
that the goal of becoming a certified school counselor will be achieved through the education,
residency, practicum, and internship that are part of this program. As a Professional School
Counselor, I hope to impact change across my school district with setting up collaboration of
district resources resources for the benefit of all students. I have worked in a system in which
everything stays very departmentalized and I would like to see synergizing across those
departments. Turning the district into a true team is a long term achievable goal, with myself as the
counselor just being one member of that team (Erford, 2015).

Benjamin Franklin Sparknotes
Benjamin Franklin s autobiography starts off with him addressing it Dear Son and beginning
with this history of his family. He traces it back to three hundred years. His father and his wife
settled in Boston along with Franklin and his siblings. Although Franklin is identified as
intelligent it was also known that he struggles in school(he is told he must take up a trade). He
strongly disliked his father s trade and so he tried out a few others before being apprenticed to
his brother James, a printer. He enjoys this trade and spends his leisure time perfecting his own
writing. James and Franklin did not get along. So, Franklin and his friend John Collins run away
to Philadelphia. There Franklin gets work with a printer, with whom he has a pleasant enough
relationship. Sir William Keith(the Governor of the province) was impressed by Franklin s
work, and offers to help Franklin convince his father that he should open his own shop. However,
his father thinks he is too young and tells him he has to spend time working hard for his trade.
Franklin agreeing because he had no other choice and hopes in the near future to have his own
shop. In the meantime, he has a fallout with Collins. Franklin worries about paying back the
money of his father s friend(Vernon), who had given it to Franklin for safekeeping. Franklin has a
legal dispute with a young woman named Miss Read and enjoyed conversing about poetry and
philosophy with other young men in the town. One man, James

Accounting Systems And The Financial Management
1.Companies create and maintain accounting systems because the accounting systems is an
important role in the financial management. They bring a lot of benefits in the business
management for accessing the financial statements, reporting business transactions, accounting pay

2.In the Balance Sheet, the assets, liabilities, and stockholders equity which are reported by
companies at a specific date. They also are related in the basic accounting equation which is:
Assets = Liabilities + Stockholders Equity. Assets are the resources that will provide future
economic benefits for the companies. Assets are divided into four categories which are current
assets, long term assets, property, plant and equipment, and intangible assets. The first one is
current assets are assets that a company expects to convert to cash or use up within one year.(49) It
includes cash, receivables such as account receivable (less allowance for doubtful accounts) and

companies list current assets in the order in which they expect to convert them into cash (50). The

An Investigation Of Verbal Communication
1.Introduction There are numerous routes in which a specific methodology in the sociologies can
be presented and clarified. One of these is through explicative contrast from fairly comparable
methodologies. The expression Conversation Analysis is at this point solidly settled as the name
for a specific worldview in the investigation of verbal communication that was started in the 1960s
by Harvey Sacks, as a team with Emanuel Schegloff and Gail Jefferson. In Conversation Analysis
the attention is on the procedural examination of talk in cooperation, how members deliberately
sort out their connections to take care of a scope of authoritative issues, for example, the dispersion
of turns at talking, the community oriented creation of specific activities, or issues of
comprehension. The investigation is constantly in view of sound or visual recordings of
collaboration, which are precisely interpreted in subtle elements. The exploration ought to be data
driven, as in ideas and speculations ought to be founded on watchful thoughts of the information,
recordings and transcripts, as opposed to drawn from hypothetical assumptions or ideological
inclinations. While initially imagined from a sociological point of view, Conversation Analysis
picked up a far reaching gathering in numerous parts of the world by scientists from a scope of
disciplinary foundations, including: brain science, human sciences, correspondence ponders and an
assortment of phonetic sub disciplines. As a

the only way to avoid this infection is through primary prevention measures of vaccination.

Induction is the first piece of learning a worker undertakes when joining the social care sector or
a new organisation. These Common Induction Standards (CIS) have been designed to provide a
structured start for workers in the first 12 weeks of employment, which will help ensure that they
are then safe to leave alone with responsibility for the people they support. But when workers are
expected to perform any tasks that are not covered by the CIS, appropriate training must be

direct observation of how the person is performing in their role. * Feedback: from people who

reflect on an aspect of their work, usually a specific incident, and explain what they learned from
it. * Questions: to test the person understanding of a topic in more depth. * Evidence: of accredited
training in a particular area.
01.3 The successfully completed induction demonstrates that a worker has the basic Information
necessary for work in social care. However it should also enable the person to identify other areas
in which they may need further training to develop their skills for further progression. The
induction process for a new worker may reveal that the worker needs additional help in order to
meet the functional levels of language, literacy and numeracy which the manager considers
necessary for them to do their job properly. This area of work is crucial to increasing the skills of
the social care workforce and ensuring the well being of the people being supported. The

The Role of HBCUs in American Society Essay
For almost two hundred years, Historically Black Colleges and Universities or HBCUs have
played a pivotal role in the education of African American people, and negro people internationally.
These schools have provided the majority of black college graduates at the Graduate and Post
Graduate level; schools such as Hampton University, Morehouse University, Spellman University
and Howard University are four universities at the forefront of the advanced education of blacks.
For sometime there has been a discussion on whether or not these institutes should remain in
existence or if they are just another form of racism. There were also concerning the quality of

Most people who believe that HBCUs are no longer useful also believe that because the law
forbids the practice of racism HBCUs should be shut down. However, few take into consideration
the many white historically white institutions with a legacy of turning away talented African
Americans. What about these schools? Should they not be closed down as well? I believe that
persons who are proponents of the abolition of HBCUs are subconsciously practicing racism,
because they are not making mention of the many schools in existence with a predominantly white
student body; HBCUs are not meant to be a form of segregation but a part of history.
I also believe that HBCUs are a better alternative to affirmative action. These institutions have the
capacity to attract and motivate many young black people, to advance their education. By seeing
people just like them, with similar backgrounds and similar interest making great achievements, it
provides those young black people with a pride and a sense of empowerment. This is most
effective in the poorer neighborhoods where morale is low. It is true that HBCUs enroll students
with the lowest test scores in American education; according to Elias Blake Jr. in the article from
Emerge, Black colleges are still enrolling a majority of the most vulnerable students that have the
lowest income and the lowest test scores... (par. 7). Studies show that in many disadvantaged

importance of transference and countertransference was highly emphasized.
Sigmund Freud believed dreams to be the royal road to the unconscious and I ve come to agree
with this based on personal experience. Sigmund Freud saw the mind as an iceberg mostly
submerged in water. The tip of this iceberg represented the conscious part of the ego and a small
portion of the super ego. While everything below the water was, unconscious including the Id
and the rest of the super ego. Freud believed that within the frozen core of this solitary iceberg
were wishes so disgusting, horrifying and painful that they had to be repressed by the practical
ego and pious superego for their own safety. However, these wishes were important to the id, our
most primal and instinctive part of the psyche. These wishes while vile to the ego, are still
necessary to be a whole person. However, the iceberg only allowed these vile wishes to ascend
when the pressure was lowed from the higher functions. Freud saw that sleep as the moment of
lowed pressure on the Id. This was due lowered ego defenses during times of rest. However, these
defenses functioned enough to disguise the wishes somewhat though the process of

An asylum seeker is defined as person who has fled their own country and applied for protection
as a refugee. (Australian Human Rights Commission, 2015).According to the Convention on
refugees, a refugee is someone who has travelled outside his or her own country and cannot return
due to a well founded fear of persecution because of his or her race, religion, nationality,
membership of a particular social group or political opinion which was stated in the Convention
Relating to the Status of Refugees.
As soon as a person in a refugee situation and flees to an international border, he or she is a
defined as a refugee. The person s refugee status is confirmed when the claim they put forward is
assessed, either by a national government or an international agency, such as the UNHCR, and he
or she is found to meet the definition of a refugee.
The term refugee is often used in more terms then the expansion of its legal definition allows. A
refugee generally includes all people who flee their homes to seek refuge from any kind of harm
or threat of harm, such as war, civil strife, domestic violence, poverty or environmental
collapse. However, the legal definition is narrower. The legal definition only applies to people
who can prove they have a well founded fear of persecution because of their race, beliefs, ideals
and opinion. These are free rights that should be obligated to every individual for example freedom
of speech.

In the academic library that I chose to examine, finding the reference desk is no easy task for the
unfamiliar patron. With three major entrances and six floors to navigate, this library is an epitome
of what most libraries would strive to have: boundless space for patrons and a vast, growing
collection. The patron, however, could easily take one glance at this gargantuan building and easily
become overwhelmed, despite the services that this one building contains, such as being combined
with financial aid, the information technology (IT) center, and areas to grab coffee and snacks. It is

Eventually, I was able to find a seat to left of the reference desk. This allowed me to see the
patrons as they walked up to the desk and the activities that occurred in the staff work area.
Behind the desk, there are enough computer stations that four staff members can work
comfortably at a time. Through the duration of the forty minutes I spent observing the reference
desk, there are three people present: one who was absorbed in his computer; one who was
obviously bored and playing with his cell phone; and an older gentleman who was roving around
the confines of the desk. Between visits from patrons, the staff members conversed freely, even
standing up and stretching their legs on occasion. Towards the second half of the observation,
one of the staff members retreated into the back room behind the reference desk. In the time
dedicated to observing these interactions, six patrons came to the desk, with only two of them
having reference related questions. The first patron to approach the desk arrived at 2:40. Clad in
a runner s outfit, she did not look older than nineteen. She must not have realized this was the desk
that she needed because as she almost walked by it completely, she did a double take. The

The Moose By Elizabeth Bishop
The poem The Moose by Elizabeth Bishop opens up by capturing the landscape and physical
appearance of the Nova Scotia coast, where Bishop was taken to live with her grandparents in
her younger days. As she is traveling to Boston she takes into account various images and
perspectives she is seeing and hearing. Like some of Bishop s previous poems, The Moose
focuses on the beauty and power of nature, and how nature can be almost a burden to our everyday
life. Bishop does this by including vivid imagery, syntax, and alliterationthroughout the poem.
With Bishop being familiar with the Nova Scotia coast, she really has a connection in the poem
with the landscape and what is going on around her, which the reader can appreciate throughout
the first couple of stanzas. The reader can identify this connection with the vivid use of imagery
Bishop portrays. She starts out the poem describing the scenery and a little bit of the culture that
has surrounded her for most of her years. Lines 1 4 cite, From narrow provinces /of fish and
bread and tea, / home of the long tides/ where the bay leaves the sea. With these particular lines,
Bishop creates a soothing and comfortable image and tone. She sets the mood of the poem by the
repetitive syntactical use of language. Bishop does a great job with this by having the reader
appreciate what she is seeing and displaying a meaning of what is behind these long tides and the
bay.
She continues on with the third stanza describing the sunset

Essay On Diversity And Diversity
In the age of globalization, harmony within diversity should be nurtured and cherished by the

Analysis Of Petite Mort, By Hans Kylart
The Netherlands Dance Theatre showcased the classical ballet Petite Mort which contained music
by W.A. Mozart, was choreographed by JiЕ™ГKyliГЎn, and was directed by Hans Hulscher.
Petite Mort was first created by JiЕ™Г KyliГЎn in 1991 for the Netherlands Dance Theater. In
French, Petite Mort means little death , which is a French alternative commonly used for orgasm.
In the balletKyliГЎn uses subtle sexual signs. This is a seventeen minute long dancein which more
than half is just between two dancers one male and one female dancing together. The choreography
contains six men, six women, six foils, and six women s dresses. Overall, the scenery is dark.
Everything in the back is black, the dancers in their nude colored outfits can be seen only because
of a large spotlight that stays on them. Although KyliГЎn uses some classical ballet elements such
as graceful and flowing movements in Petite Mort, this is clearly a contemporary ballet. Because
contemporary ballet incorporates both modern dance and classical ballet there are many
similarities. Foot positioning is one of the key distinguishing feature between the two. Most, if not
all, classical ballet is performed in a turned out position while contemporary is done in a turned in
position. Turn in position allows for a greater range of movement that is used in contemporary
ballet. Another difference between the two is the absence or use of pointe shoes. In classical ballet
pointe shoes are vital in supporting the dancers

major contributor to growth potential (Wal Mart, 2010). However, sales growth has declined
steadily since 2007. Wal Mart s 2010 annual report showed a 1% increase in sales growth over
the prior year. With the steady decline in sales growth, Wal Mart s initiative to continue growing

Ans1: Problem Management minimizes the adverse impact of incidents on the business and
enables root cause analysis to identify a permanent solution.
Problem Detection
Trend analysis is the key to spot the Problems. A Trend analysis helps in giving a proactive
approach to the Problem Management by which you can avoid the occurrence of the problem
earlier rather than resolving the problem at a later stage. The reports in ServiceDesk Plus gives
you information on identifying the real causes of Incidents created earlier and what should be
identified as a problem. Get the pattern of failure from an Item based reports (Report on Request
by Item and Report on Problems by Item) and identify the IT service which has to be improved.
Problem Logging
The Problem logging is critical as all the necessary information and conclusion from the incident has
to be captured while creating the Problem. Create a problem from the Incidents maintaining the
complete association and the information from it. Avoid duplicates by searching for similar
existing problems before the creation of a new Problem. Categorization
Problem categorization is very essential to avoid ambiguities. Service Desk Plus helps in applying
the incident categorization automatically to a Problem when it is created and this helps in keeping
the Problem technicians in the same level of understanding as the Incident technicians. When the
number of incidents raised is more, it might be a painful task to search these incidents

Hairspray is a satire of Baltimore in the early 1960 s while going through the Civil Rights

the musical lighthearted but meaningful.
The 2007 play, Hairspray, is based off of a 2002 Broadway musical which was ultimately based off

The Major Characters In Oedipus The King
In Sophocles tragedy Oedipus the King, Oedipus, the main character, goes through many
struggles that lead to his downfall as a leader and character. In the beginning of the play, the
Plague of Athens strikes, and many people are dying rapidly. Oedipus, being the king of Thebes,
is placed in charge of solving the problem. He relies on an the seer Tiresias to help him, and the
seer tells him that the plague will be stopped when the murderer of Laius is found and expelled.
Oedipusalso finds out that when he was born, the oracle told his parents that he was going to kill
his father and have an affair with his mother. In order to prevent this from happening, his parents
sent him off to Thebes where he was raised by a royal family. After inquiring for more information,
it becomes clear that Oedipus real mother is Jocasta, who he married without knowledge that she
was his mother, and his real father is Laius, who he killed on a crossroad years ago. Throughout
these occurrences, Sophocles alludes to major events and customs within Athens, and his writing
follows many common themes in Greek Mythology. Sophocles storyline in Oedipus the King
directly correlates with events and issues going on in Greece. This is evident through the major
theme of the Plague of Athens. The play takes place in 430 BCE, the same year that the plague hit
Thebes, Athens. Sophocles characters are terrified when the plague first hits as the black death

The Internal and External Conflicts of Willy Loman Essay
Individuals explore their responses to conditions of internal and external conflicts throughout
literature. Going in depth to a character allows the reader to better understand that character s
internal and external conflicts. Arthur Miller uses this technique in several of his plays, including
Death of a Salesman. Miller portrays the character of Willy Loman in Death of a Salesmanthrough
his internal and external conflicts. The internal conflictbegins with Willy s expectations for his

The reader can see this when The Woman says, I ll put you right through to the buyers, (Miller
39). Thus, Willy has multiple expectations for his sons and The Woman. The internal conflict
continues with Willy s dreams. The beginning of the play tells us that it is about dreams (Eisinger
2). Willy dreams of the American dream and family dreams. Willy characterizes the American
dream as success, which creates conflict within himself. Willy longs for the dream so much that he
focuses solely on achieving this goal that he loses desire for anything less. Willy interprets his
desire for success when he defines Dave Singleton:
And he was eighty four years old and he d drummed merchandise in thirty one states. And old
Dave he d go up to his room, y understand, put on his green velvet slippers I ll never forget and
pick up his phone and call the buyers, and without ever leaving his room at the age of eighty four,
he made his living. And when I saw that, I realized that selling was the greatest career a man could
want. (Miller 81)
Dave Singleton is a model for Willy because he shows that a salesman can be remembered, loved,
and helped in many different places in the country (Eisinger 4). The success of Dave is the
American dream that Willy desires. The American dream of having everything one wants.
Because Willy wants this corrupt dream so much, he longs for his family to have the same dream.

The Medicinal Properties Of Aloe Vera
Introduction
Aloe vera is one of the endemic plants found in southern Iran and had been utilized in Persian
medicine practices for over 2,500 years (Avijgan, 2016). Aloe vera has also played an important
role in clinical research (Marharjan and Nampoothiri, 2015). It is a succulent, cactus like plant
which belongs to the Aloe cease family which contains more than 400 Aloe vera species
(Vangipuram et al., 2016). Aloe barbadensis Miller (Asphodelaceae) and Aloe aborescens are the
more extensively known species to use for cosmetic, medicinal, and pharmaceutical purposes
(Grindlay and Reynolds, 1986). Aloe vera consists of 75 different ingredients: enzymes, minerals,
sugars, sterols, amino acids, and salicylic acid, just to name a few (Gottlieb, 1980). The leaves of
Aloe vera contain 0.0013% protein and 99.5% water (Reynolds and Dweck, 1999). These features
have made Aloe vera known for its medicinal assets which lead to its use in pharmacological actions
like antibacterial, antifungal, anti inflammatory, antioxidant, antitumor, and immune boosting
(Nair, 2016). Studies have also shown anti microbial potential against Streptococcus pyrogenes,
Streptococcus faecalis, and other infectious diseases caused by bacteria (Heggers et al., 1979).
Therefore, it has been used traditionally as nutritional drinks, vitamins, moisturizers, healing agent
in cosmetics, diabetic patients, sun burn, wounds and digestive tract disorders with no adverse

Negative View Of Revenge In Hamlet
In Shakespeare s Hamlet, revenge is the driving force behind the plot. Hamlet is charged with
avenging his father s murder at the hands of his uncle and quickly this quest affects everyone in his
life. Eventually, almost everyone in the play dies as a result of Hamlet s quest for vengeance. At
first, however, Hamlets indecision over killing his uncle seems to be the source of trouble, not the
revenge itself. He cannot decide what he wants, and that has a detrimental effect on the people
around him. When Laertes returns after the death Polonius, the audience is given a character like
Hamlet but without the indecision. However, his quick corruption by Claudius eventually shows he
is not the positive character initially introduced. Overall, the play presents a negative view of
revenge by showing that even Laertes, who is without Hamlet s issues, is damaged by it.
At the beginning of the play, Hamlet s indecision causes his troubles, not revenge. He is more
inclined to speak about doing something than actually do it, and from the beginning shows
hesitation towards the concept of revenge. At first, he is thrown into a frenzy by his conversation
with the ghost. However, the audience sees that two months later, he is yet to make any progress
towards killing Claudius. Instead, he is bouncing back between mania and depression, frustrated
with himself that he cannot take any action, but more preoccupied with his anger at his mother
and his friends. He scolds himself for being unpregnant of his cause, but also declares that an actor
would drown the stage with tears if put in his position (II, ii). He believes he needs to kill his uncle
but is also unwilling to take action, preferring to speak about his thoughts on Gertrude and Claudius
incestuous relationship. Also contributing to Hamlet s indecision is the contrast between his
image of what an avenger should look like and his own self image. He pictures rugged Pyrrhus,
with sable arms and who is roasted in wrath and fire, when he thinks of an avenger. This godlike
figure is in contrast with his self image; in his first soliloquy, he says Claudius is no more like my
father than I to Hercules (I, ii). To himself, Hamlet is as far away from heroic or godlike

Essay On Flesh And Blood So Cheap By Albert Marin
Have you ever wondered when the fire extinguisher was made? Well in the novel Flesh and
Blood So Cheap: The Triangle Fire And Its Legacy by Albert Marrin shows how the catastrophe
led by a flame that grew massive burning the triangle shirtwaist factory without use of the
extinguisher, it also shows that the owners don t tolerate safety standards or use them. Albert
Marrin uses two types of evidence, one being implicit and the other being explicit, both of them
shows how the evidence can be inferred or just stated directly out of the text. Additionally, using
implicit, we can infer how the factory is taking safety standards as careless goal. In the text, it
states that Those who reached the ninth floor stairway door found it locked. with this evidence we
can infer using implicit that it implies a major concern on the people leaving them with no way to

from the ninth floor struck with a force equal to eleven thousand pounds. and another is Nothing!

The sub title Holocaust ultimately means destruction or slaughter on a mass scale, especially

Another explicit evidence in the text is A person falling from the ninth floor struck with a force
equal to eleven thousand pounds. Some jumpers bounced off the nets, dying when they hit the
ground; others tore the nets, crashing through to the pavement. this disaster had been caused by the
unsure and unsafety of hazardness by the attempted rescue by the firemen leaving death to the
workers. This we can smally infer that the firemen had not been prepared for this kind of situation
had no care for human value or

  • 5. The Exploitation Of Land Is Justified Essay The economy today runs on an antiquated ritual of exploiting, plundering, devastation, and manipulation of land for material wealth, profiting the wealthy and condemning the poor. This mindset is no more sophisticated than feudalism, a system so bad it had to be outlawed along with witchcraft. The idea that exploitation of land is justified has brought plastics to the ocean and leveled rainforests. Large corporations have grown larger by manufacturing and production, depleting the planet s resources in the process. Now, companies must make a combined effort to put the environment first, before profit. Because of their harmful practices, consumers have the right to know where products come from, how they re made, and the impact on the environment. Furthermore, it is the responsibility of the large corporations to change their harmful practices, to make strides towards ending climate changeand use clean, sustainable methods. With the combination of polymers that don t biodegrade and mass overproduction, companies are harming the environment in severe ways. Plastic, a material seen everywhere, is a polymer made from oil. It is mass produced to make everything from shampoo bottles to automobiles and does not biodegrade. When it is eventually thrown out, the waste usually finds it way into the ocean, where it is either buried under sediment or eaten by marine life (Weisman 287 295). Global Warming is a Hoax Essay The essay opens up with McKibben talking about how the political campaign against global warming is flawed because at our current point there is nothing much that can be done to fix it.(Mckibben,1) He then goes to state that humans are the biggest culprit behind global warming and supports this by giving examples such as SUVs and American ignorance.(2,9) He concludes by saying that if ten percent of America were to go green, it still would not save the planet, but ten percent could get the government s attention to pass laws making everyone go green. I watched a documentary where the famous marine biologist, Jean Michel Cousteau, talks about the Great Barrier Reef and how temperature affects it. Normally it sits comfortably between 85 to 74 degrees Fahrenheit. Temperatures lower than 70 can cause the coral to turn white and die. However, after the existing coral dies, new coral grows on top of it and the cycle starts again. Aside from this this, coral has been known to adapt to survive in waters where the temperature can get below 60 or rise above 90. So the coral population is in no real danger. Another point he makes is that Polar bears are getting scrawnier because the seal habitat has declined because global warming causes the ice to melt. This is false. A common fact global warming supporters forget to mention is that arctic and Antarctic snowfall replenish the ice each year. Polar bears and seals are more in danger of poaching than losing their habitat to global warming. Both species are on the endangered list. However, weighing anywhere between 775 to 1,200 pounds. The expression Conversation Analysis is at this point solidly settled as the name for a specific worldview in the investigation of verbal communication that was started in the 1960s by Harvey Sacks, as a team with Emanuel Schegloff and Gail Jefferson. The investigation is constantly in view of sound or visual recordings of collaboration, which are precisely interpreted in subtle elements. However, few take into consideration the many white historically white institutions with a legacy of turning away talented African Americans. What about these schools? Should they not be closed down as well? I believe that persons who are proponents of the abolition of HBCUs are subconsciously practicing racism, because they are not making mention of the many schools in existence with a predominantly white student body; HBCUs are not meant to be a form of segregation but a part of history. I also believe that HBCUs are a better alternative to affirmative action. These institutions have the capacity to attract and motivate many young black people, to advance their education. By seeing people just like them, with similar backgrounds and similar interest making great achievements, it provides those young black people with a pride and a sense of empowerment. This is most effective in the poorer neighborhoods where morale is low. Freud believed that within the frozen core of this solitary iceberg were wishes so disgusting, horrifying and painful that they had to be repressed by the practical ego and pious superego for their own safety. However, these wishes were important to the id, our most primal and instinctive part of the psyche. These wishes while vile to the ego, are still necessary to be a whole person. However, the iceberg only allowed these vile wishes to ascend when the pressure was lowed from the higher functions. Freud saw that sleep as the moment of lowed pressure on the Id. The Moose By Elizabeth Bishop The poem The Moose by Elizabeth Bishop opens up by capturing the landscape and physical appearance of the Nova Scotia coast, where Bishop was taken to live with her grandparents in her younger days. As she is traveling to Boston she takes into account various images and perspectives she is seeing and hearing. Like some of Bishop s previous poems, The Moose focuses on the beauty and power of nature, and how nature can be almost a burden to our everyday life. Bishop does this by including vivid imagery, syntax, and alliterationthroughout the poem. With Bishop being familiar with the Nova Scotia coast, she really has a connection in the poem with the landscape and what is going on around her, which the reader can appreciate throughout the first couple of stanzas. The reader can identify this connection with the vivid use of imagery Bishop portrays. She starts out the poem describing the scenery and a little bit of the culture that has surrounded her for most of her years. Lines 1 4 cite, From narrow provinces /of fish and bread and tea, / home of the long tides/ where the bay leaves the sea. With these particular lines, Bishop creates a soothing and comfortable image and tone. She sets the mood of the poem by the repetitive syntactical use of language. A bank measures its performance among other parameters on how much Loan or Credit it has disbursed in a fiscal year or how much Deposit it has collected from the customers etc. Though such data in isolation may not be a true estimate of the efficiency of the business because unregulated disbursal of loans may cause Non Performing Assets (NPAs) which will lower the Retained Earning of the Bank but since the report is concerned only with the Production function of the PSBs hence no comment will be made on this aspect. In French, Petite Mort means little death , which is a French alternative commonly used for orgasm. In the balletKyliГЎn uses subtle sexual signs. This is a seventeen minute long dancein which more than half is just between two dancers one male and one female dancing together. The choreography contains six men, six women, six foils, and six women s dresses. Overall, the scenery is dark. Everything in the back is black, the dancers in their nude colored outfits can be seen only because of a large spotlight that stays on them. Although KyliГЎn uses some classical ballet elements such as graceful and flowing movements in Petite Mort, this is clearly a contemporary ballet. Because contemporary ballet incorporates both modern dance and classical ballet there are many similarities. Foot positioning is one of the key distinguishing feature between the two. Most, if not all, classical ballet is performed in a turned out position while contemporary is done in a turned in position. Turn in position allows for a greater range of movement that is used in contemporary ballet. Another difference between the two is the absence or use of pointe shoes. In classical ballet pointe shoes are vital in supporting the dancers ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Willy longs for the dream so much that he focuses solely on achieving this goal that he loses desire for anything less. • 41. Negative View Of Revenge In Hamlet In Shakespeare s Hamlet, revenge is the driving force behind the plot. Hamlet is charged with avenging his father s murder at the hands of his uncle and quickly this quest affects everyone in his life. Eventually, almost everyone in the play dies as a result of Hamlet s quest for vengeance. At first, however, Hamlets indecision over killing his uncle seems to be the source of trouble, not the revenge itself. He cannot decide what he wants, and that has a detrimental effect on the people around him. When Laertes returns after the death Polonius, the audience is given a character like Hamlet but without the indecision. However, his quick corruption by Claudius eventually shows he is not the positive character initially introduced. Overall, the play presents a negative view of revenge by showing that even Laertes, who is without Hamlet s issues, is damaged by it. At the beginning of the play, Hamlet s indecision causes his troubles, not revenge. He is more inclined to speak about doing something than actually do it, and from the beginning shows hesitation towards the concept of revenge. At first, he is thrown into a frenzy by his conversation with the ghost. However, the audience sees that two months later, he is yet to make any progress towards killing Claudius. Instead, he is bouncing back between mania and depression, frustrated with himself that he cannot take any action, but more preoccupied with his anger at his mother and his friends. He scolds himself for being unpregnant of his cause, but also declares that an actor would drown the stage with tears if put in his position (II, ii). He believes he needs to kill his uncle but is also unwilling to take action, preferring to speak about his thoughts on Gertrude and Claudius incestuous relationship. Also contributing to Hamlet s indecision is the contrast between his image of what an avenger should look like and his own self image. He pictures rugged Pyrrhus, with sable arms and who is roasted in wrath and fire, when he thinks of an avenger. This godlike figure is in contrast with his self image; in his first soliloquy, he says Claudius is no more like my father than I to Hercules (I, ii).
