History of the Ryder Cup Essay
History of the Ryder Cup The Ryder Cup is the most famous team golf event in the world. The Ryder
Cup is played for biannually between the USA and the European team. The tournament was founded
in 1927 by Samuel Ryder and has continued to the present day. The competition was originally held
between the USA and the British teams, but then in 1973 the rules changed to allow the British team
to field Irish golfers. The competition finally extended in 1979 to allow all European golfers to play
for the new European team. The competition has been contested once every two years since 1927
except during WWII. Since 1979, the tournament has ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In 1927, the Ryder Cup was valued at 250 GBP. Today it is valued at $13,900. The Ryder Cup is 17
inches tall and weighs just over four pounds. The golfer depicted on top of the trophy is Abe Mitchell,
friend and private instructor of Ryder. Rules, Format and Terminology The Ryder Cup is played by the
Rules of Golf determined by the USGA and applied by the PGA of America. Several types of
matchplay are used during the Ryder Cup , including foursomes (two man teams taking alternate
shots), fourball (betterball) and singles (18 holes at matchplay). The order of play during the first two
days of the competition (foursomes or fourballs) is determined through mutual agreement of both
teams captains. There are a total of 28 matches . Matchplay Guidelines Matchplay is a game played by
holes. A hole is won by the team which holes its ball in the fewer strokes. Score is kept by the number
of holes up (won) and the number of holes remaining. (Example: US is 2 up with 6 holes to play).
When a team is up (winning) by more holes than there are holes left to play the match is closed out
and a point is awarded to the winning team. One point is awarded for each point won. If a match is
tied or halved through 18 holes of play, each team receives 1/2 a point. A total of 28 points are

Bigfoot Essay
Bigfoot
For over a 150 years man has been troubled by one great mystery, a mystery that has baffled all who
have witnessed it and all who have tried to solve it. This mystery is commonly known as Bigfoot, a
tall hairy man/ape who lurks in the woods in almost every country on this planet. Some say it is just an
ape, some believe it is a man in costume, and others are true believers of this hairy phenomenon. For
more than a decade and a half this creature of myth has caused enormous contradictions in the field of
science, bringing about one question. Does Bigfoot exist?
Throughout the 150 year history of Bigfoot many concerns have raised, the most in number have been
from Native Americans. The Karok Indians tell of an upslope person ... Show more content on

These people have given detail of its features and characteristics. Bigfoot is described to have a rancid
odor which is smelt from miles away. It can weight up to 1,000 pounds and it reach higher than eight
feet in length (Gaffron, 16). Its footprints tell a lot about Bigfoot as well, from them scientists deduce
his extremely wide strides of six to eight feet, the four inch to 24 inch foot size, and the unusual
disproportionate width of the ball of its feet (Fahrenbach). With all its obvious differences Bigfoot also
shares common traits with primates, for example the hair some bone structure, and a minimum mental
capacity.
From the United States to China people have reported seeing what they believe is Bigfoot. These
encounters may or may not be true; one cannot know for certain the truth of such questionable things,
the only thing that can be done is to keep an open mind. The most common sightings occur in remote
regions in northern and southern California, by people claiming to see huge, hairy human like
creatures. Most people that see a Bigfoot don t know what they ve seen, let alone know it s something
worth reporting. These are some examples of sightings which have been recorded. In 1958, while
flying a private plane over Bluff creek, a husband and wife see Bigfoot tracks, they follow them until
they are above the Bigfoot. On April 16, 1969 Mrs. Robert Behme sees a Bigfoot limp across a road in

How Could Magnetically Levitated Trains Relieve the...
Introduction
Transportation is one of the most essential spheres of human s life in such aspects as economic
growth, communication, tourism, and utilization of space. Thence, it is very important for it to have
minimal effect on the environment, be safe, cheap, comfortable, and fast in use. Conventional
transport, such as trains and airplanes, causes a number of problems including air pollution, high
amounts of energy consumption, huge need of maintenance, high prices, and risks of safety, thus not
being efficient enough. Therefore, new generation of transport must correspond to definite
requirements: be efficient, reliable, and environmentally sound. The technology of the new kind of
transport magnetically levitated trains could be ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Moreover, according to Figure 2, the amount of CO2 increases with the rise of speed. Conventional
trains are also not efficient in economic aspect, since there is a demand for constant maintenance
(Figure 1), such as periodic replacement of gear, wheels, rails, etc., which may lead to huge financial
expenses. Figure 1. Comparison of Maglev and Wheel On Rail Systems. Source: H. W. Lee, Kim, and
J. Lee 2006, 1917. Figure 2. The Energy Consumption of a Train Calculated for Different Speeds and
its CO2 Emissions per Passengers. Source: Garcia, 2010, 41.
Air transport is constructed to be faster and more convenient than trains, however there are also
several burdens that are associated with airplanes. The most important aircraft problem is vast fuel
utilization European Commission 2009 indicates that airplanes have huge CO2 emission 51.5 gram
per passenger kilometer. In addition, serious risks of safety usually worry people, for instance, there is
a recent loss of Boeing 777 airplane with all the passengers, which is usually considered to be very
safe, and still cannot be found (Ranter 2014). Airplanes are also very dependent on weather
conditions, as can be seen on Figure 3, number of delays lead to considerably high financial expenses
more than 7 billions in 2012. Figure 3. Annual and Per Minute Cost of Delays to U.S. Airlines.

Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD)
Description: Polycystic kidney disease, also known as PKD, is a genetic disorder where clusters of
cysts develop in the kidneys. Cysts are fluid filled sacs that vary in size depending on how much fluid
is in the sac. This disease impacts the ability of the kidneys to filter waste products from the blood. In
many cases, the growth of the cysts causes the kidneys to become enlarged which can lead to kidney
failure. There are three types of polycystic kidney disease: autosomal dominant (ADPKD), autosomal
recessive (ARPKD), and acquired cystic kidney disease (ACKD). Autosomal dominant and autosomal
recessive polycystic kidney diseases are both genetic disorders, while acquired cystic kidney disease is
not inherited. Autosomal dominant is the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In order to deal with pain, many health care providers suggest taking over the counter medication like
aspirin. High blood pressure is one of the most common symptoms in patients with PKD. Many
patients have to make lifestyle changes and take various medications to lower blood pressure. Some
lifestyle changes that may need to take place include a strict diet or an increase in exercise. About 50
percent of people with PKD experience kidney failure by the age of 60, and 70 percent will have
kidney failure by age 70 (National Kidney Foundation, 2016). Although there is no way to reverse
kidney failure, there are ways to prolong the life of the kidneys. Patients either need to receive dialysis
or receive a kidney transplant. There are two types of dialysis. The first is hemodialysis. This is where
a machine is used to filter toxins from the blood. The second is peritoneal dialysis. This is where the
lining of the abdomen is used to filter blood from inside the body. A kidney transplant is when the
unhealthy kidney is removed from the patient s body and a healthy one is put in. The healthy kidney
typically comes from a family member to reduce the risk of rejection (National Institute of Diabetes

There are a few key aspects of dairy farming that need to be monitored carefully or result in unwanted
outcomes. This includes the voltage on the fences around the farm, the temperature of the milk that is
in the vat and the activity of the water pump. A constant monitoring system of these three important
farming aspects could improve farm profitability. A mobile phone application will be designed to
incorporate monitoring of these three activities. If the fences do not have the required voltage on them
this can result in animals escaping and injuring themselves. This can be difficult to monitor as
currently to do this you are required to be on the farm using a fence tester. The milk temperature is
required to be below 7 degrees Celsius within 3 hours by the milk company to ensure it is safe for
human consumption. This is done through using chiller machines as if the milk does not reach this
temperature in time the entire vat full of milk must be disposed of which causes a loss of income for

Legal Validity Of Natural Law
Legal Validity in the View of Natural Law By: Micah A. Davis October 7, 2014 Abstract In this paper,
I will propose that it is better to look at whether a law is legally valid or not through the perspective of
natural law theory as opposed to positivist theory. My argument consists mostly of the language of
improvement which can only exist based on the theory of natural law which states that law is
something which has an objective truth behind it. Only when there is an objective mark to hit can
there be hits and misses and I believe that positivism disregards the possibility of hits and misses
entirely. So, my argument is that it makes more sense to consider legal validity of a law from the
perspective of natural law rather than positive law because it includes not only the previously set up
legal system when considering validity, but it also considers the general idea of some kind of morality
as well. A sub argument is that the starting legal system must have had some basis by which to have
been created and accepted which must be some form or notion of morality. Legal validity is how valid
or forceful or authoritative a law is within a system ( Validity ). There are many different ways to
interpret what it means when a law within a system changes. One way to view it is in a positivist
perspective. That perspective claims that when a judge changes a law, he is simply stating it based on
the words in the law and his interpretation of words,

Stuart Daw Case
Question 1
Is there a way to estimate the cost of services and product to customers such that Stuart s Branded
Foods can be competitive in their market? Use the illustrations of the two customers to demonstrate
your approach. What would be the selling price per kit or per cup for each customer?
The costing approach should be based on per Transaction Basis rather than on per kit or per pound
basis because of the following reasons:
Current costs are allocated on a per kit basis, which is not an efficient cost allocation method.
Operational costs should be same irrespective of number of kits.
Equipment costs should be on a per kit basis as it depends on the number of kits sold.
Operational costs including Personnel costs, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
What impact might it have upon the business strategy of the firm?
If Stuart Daw adopts the Transaction based Pricing Strategy it may face the following impact
On Performance:
The price per cup for both small as well as large customers is reduced.
It can maintain competitiveness in the large customer segment by maintaining 15% Profit Margin.
Revenue stream generated from the customer segments may get impacted with changes in Transaction
Costs and subsequently Price per Kit.
Improved cost allocation will ensure that the company can maintain competitiveness without any
appreciation in costs to customers.
On Strategy:
The company should target to serve the large customer base with better profit margins and also choose
to serve those small customers who are willing to pay the targeted price per kit.
For difficult to serve small customers alternate and cost effective means of ordering, transporting and
fulfilling the orders should be sought.
Personnel costs, both direct and indirect should be brought under control.
Promote bulk orders among the small customers so that effective price/cup for small customers can be
brought down.
Question 3
What advice would you offer to Stuart Daw?
Our advice to Stuart Daw would be:
Stuart Daw should adopt the new Transaction Cost allocation mechanism, which will enable it to
remain competitive in the large customer segment.

Waitress’ Perception.Based On Her Experience As A Waitress,
Waitress Perception Based on her experience as a waitress, Belle believes that a server in a restaurant
should keep the customers drink glasses full. When she goes to a restaurant where she has to ask to
have her drink glass refilled, she automatically assumes that the restaurant has bad service. Several
aspects that may contribute towards Belle s attitude of the restaurant service expectations. First, Belle
has a personal service philosophy which explains her general assumptions that her glass should always

There are several factors which influence adequate service. These elements are perceived service
alternatives, situational factors, and predicted service. Perceived service alternatives are defined as
other providers from whom the customer can obtain service (Zeithaml et. al., 2013, p.59). If customers
have several service providers to select from, or if they can provide the service themselves, then their
levels of adequate service are greater than those who believe it is not possible to get superior service
in another place (p.59). Situational factors may be divided into two categories; uncontrollable
situational factors and personal situational factors. Uncontrollable situational factors are service
performance conditions that are beyond the service provider. For example, forces of nature such as a
tornado or hurricane may affect a service provider in certain geographic areas. Customers may be
more willing to accept a delay in service due to the effects if the natural disaster. Situational factors
often lower the level of adequate service, widening the zone of tolerance (Zeithaml et. al., 2013, p.61).
Personal situational factors are often short term factors which make customers aware of the need for
services. Emergency situations, such as a flat tire may in turn raise the level of adequate service
expectations, since the customer is looking for a prompt solution

blonde hair that trail slightly past her shoulders. She has an infectious laugh, a flamboyant personality,

But perhaps, the most memorable aspect about her is the deprecating eating habits that she habitually
follows. She is the one and only sensationalized reality TV show star, Alana Thompson or Honey Boo

surprise considering her unhealthy eating practices. During beauty pageants, her mother provides her
with a concoction of Mountain Dew and Red Bull to drink, which she calls Go Go Juice to give her
the extra energy to help her become a pageant queen. When she is not drinking Go Go Juice , she
consumes an overwhelming amount of junk foods like Oreos and chicken nuggets. Unfortunately,

different readerships. That is, popular press articles generally cater to the general public while peer

essay explores how the topic of trauma and memory is addressed in Why Rape and Trauma Survivors

affect the admissibility of victim narratives in court, while the Memory article uses Interpretive

The Importance Of Language In Hamlet By William Shakespeare
A man with a unique manipulation of language had the power to captivate minds centuries ago, and
yet his legendary voice is still heard today. William Shakespeare was the man of his time at the
forefront of drama and play writing. It is no wonder he stood as a noble character by the king, because
his literary works were so cherished by all of the people. His audience praised him, and they
understood him, however, the language that was recognizable to them might be more unfamiliar to us.
As an illustration, one might ponder why Shakespeare chose to assert in the famous tragedy Hamlet
that This above all; to thine own self be true. A modern audience might translate the phrase to mean
the most important thing is to look after yourself , but why is the phrase written in such a peculiar
way? There is a certain rhythmic pattern along with distinct tools embedded in Shakespeare s voice
that one must explore... and then the audience can fully become one with his thoughts and brilliant
mind.
First and foremost, one of the most appreciated tragedies written by Shakespeare is Macbeth. In this
play the audience observes a loyal general transform into a betraying tyrant and establishes his own
downfall, commencing with the murder of his own king. Undoubtedly, this piece of literature is rich in
rhetorical devices and mechanisms that illuminate Shakespeare s words. Chiefly, the primary
mechanism for which Shakespeare delivers is known as Iambic Pentameter . This tool consists

Norman Bates: Two Lives Within A Soul
Sigmund Freud s Psychoanalytic Theory of Personality Development states that there is a structural
model of the psyche, which splits the human identity into three instances of Ego, Superego, and ID. In
Psychoanalytic Stage of Development, there are five stages: Oral, Anal, Phallic, Latency, and Genital.
Even though Sigmund Freud never was writing about the movie _Psycho_, theories of Freud, have a

As Norman grew up, he never had the chance to explore his sexual desires with other people.
Norman s behavior can be further analyzed by using Freud s theory of Infantile Sexuality. In his
theory of Infantile Sexuality, Freud explains that a child has sexual instincts. Sigmund Freud s theory
describes the ideas and emotions which exist within the unconscious mind of children concerning their
desire to possess their mothers sexually and eliminate the threat of their fathers who they competed
with for the attention of their mothers. Norman s problem is he is stuck in the Phallic Stage. The
Phallic Stage is the third stage of child development, occurring between the year of 3 and 6. Between
this time, Norman must have been abandoned by his mother. Her lover must have been envied by
Norman because all he wants is his mother s love and attention. He felt that the other man was a threat
to the relationship Norman and his mother had. After feeling abandoned by his mother, Norman s
Oedipus complex forced him to have a fight with his mother s lover, which eventually made him to
murder the two of them after finding them in bed together . For Freud, most repressed memories relate
to sexuality. However, the killings don t stop with the mother and her partner. Norman continues to
kill women who come to the motel that he finds attractive.

All forms of violence directly affect the health of the victim. The most effective way to approach
violence in a community is to identify the root of the problem, identify those at risk, and treat those at
risk. One way to identify the cause of an issue is to ask the people what they think the cause of
violence in their community is. This could even mean asking the individuals that are committing the
acts of violence why they are being violent towards others or even ask the community what makes
them feel threatened. However, it is going to be difficult to get the violent citizens to explain to law
enforcement agents or medical professionals why they are being violent. Once the violent citizens
trust these professionals it will better help to identify the key cause of violence. When more people see
that professionals are on their side to help them, not put them in jail, more people will be willing to
assess this issue and work with professionals. Since professionals are working with the violent
citizens, they can get the citizens the help that they need to try and prevent violence. Also,
relationships and trust with in the community would have been established at this point making
citizens more likely to get treatment. Once the citizens of the community can identify the cause of

Summary Of Harm De Blij s Why Geography Matters
Harm de Blij s book, Why Geography Matters poses a central theme, which I have heard discussed
multiple times. Blij argues that the American public is the most geographically illiterate society in the
world. Blij blames this decline with the poorly formulated curricula in the American school systems,
which ultimately originates from Washington D.C. and the people that run this country. If I had never
seen this central theme in action in a classroom I would have been dumbfounded. In one short
paragraph Blij summarized how America s illiteracy began, which this then becomes the central theme
of his book that relates to the educational field. Blij writes that professional educators took control of
the system and combined the subjects of history, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As every day passes China grows stronger in every aspect and eventually they will be knocking on
America s doorstep in each of those categories. Economically, China is closing rapidly, but even the
sleeping giant as Napoleon Bonaparte called it, has its limits. To be blunt, China is resource hungry
and who knows what their country will do next. With the level of nationalism that their people have,
China could go in multiple directions. For example, let us look at both China attempting to exert
control over the South China Sea and also with the Senkaku Islands. Both of these areas are becoming
more and more hostile, which ultimately could lead to deadly military engagements. With that being
said, Blij also proposes an argument that I have been pondering for a while and that is a potential cold
war between the U.S.A. and China. On the outside it seems as if there is a potential collision course to
that conclusion. However, Blij does offer an interesting solution to this possibility and it is one that I
believe should be the strongest takeaway. Blij suggests that trade, scientific, cultural and educational
links and exchanges can be the solution to this issue. After all, China is responsible for many of the
essential aspects to our life. Therefore, the least we as Americans can do is learn the various
geographical aspects that encircle

Western Society The Five Year Plans Analysis
To consolidate his power in the communist government, Stalin launched the five year plans with a
mission to increase the total industrial output by 250 percent and agricultural production by 150
percent. His government thought that economic development will help U.S.S.R to catch up with the
West. As part of this economic program, he ordered the collectivization of agriculture. His order led to
an economic disaster and shortage of basic necessities as large numbers of peasants opposed to the
change slaughtered their animals and burned the crops rather than turn them over to the state. This
resulted in a severe decrease in agricultural output throughout the years. (A History of Western

then the exploitation of despair surpassed even this. (Mein Bekenntnis: The Ghettoization of the Jews,

Cause Of Death In Romeo And Juliet
Death is extremely unfortunate. It greatly impacts the loved ones of the victim and can cause
tremendous emotional damage to people. However, death is a symptom, whether it is a natural death
from old age or an untimely death from accidents and mistakes. While death cannot always be
prevented, its cause may be analysed to obtain new information or knowledge to prevent additionally
casualties. This is especially true of the deaths of Romeo and Juliet in William Shakespeare s play
Romeo and Juliet. Set in the renaissance era, the young lovers Romeo and Juliet from opposing
families pursuit a secret and forbidden love amidst the chaos of the family feud in Verona. Their love
was difficult and the lovers ultimately take their owns lives due to ... Show more content on

In addition, Lord Capulet failed to stop Tybalt s rage and was too forceful to Juliet. Firstly, the feud
between the Montagues and Capulets contributed to the deaths of the lovers. This is seen when the
chorus states in the prologue, Two households, both alike in dignity... From ancient grudge break to
new mutiny, Where civil blood makes civil hands clean (I, Prologue, 1 4). This refers to the long
standing feud between the Montagues and Capulets, which is the primary source of conflict in the
play. This feud between the families resulted in the love between Romeo and Juliet to be forbidden,
which caused great difficulty for the lovers. Therefore, if the parents would forgive the other family
and end the feud, Romeo and Juliet would have likely been able to safely fall in love and marry,
perhaps their love would even be encouraged, thus avoid their unnecessary deaths. Secondly, Lord
Capulet failed to contain Tybalt s anger, which eventually led to Romeo s banishment, causing
complications and the lover s deaths. During the Capulet party, Tybalt had discovered that Romeo
attended uninvited, as a result, Tybalt was furious and intended to slay Romeo, but Lord Capulet
intervened and stopped Tybalt. However, Lord Capulet failed to prevent Tybalt from issuing his
challenge the next day, leading to the death of Tybalt and the banishment of Romeo. Due to Lord
Capulet s failure to prevent Tybalt s violent outburst, a series of events was set in motion: where
Tybalt killed Mercutio, and in a rage, Romeo slew Tybalt, resulting in his banishment. This was a
contributing factor in the deaths of the lovers, as Romeo s banishment presented obstacles to the
transfer of information, leading to the lovers suicides. Lastly, Lord Capulet forcing Juliet to marry
Paris was another factor contributing to Romeo and Juliet s deaths. Without

Jewellery Box Essay
PARTS OF A WHOLE HISTORY
Jewellery has been around since the stone age, after the Neanderthals had gained the knowledge of
cutting and molding, accordingly the origin of jewellery box can be traced for over the centuries,
however the exact reference to the first ever made jewellery box is not easily available. Throughout
history a jewellery box was at times considered as a casket and also treated as miniature treasure
chests. People would typically craft them from the high quality and exceptional materials. They were
once regarded as a symbol of wealth and luxury and hence were originally designed for royalty and
priests, who could afford to own valuables and were designed by local craftsmen and artisans.
Keeping jewellery safe and in a good condition is the primary motive of a jewellery box. Initially they
made trinket boxes which were smaller in size as compared to a multicompartmental jewellery box.
Some had myriad compartments, drawers, trays, and velvet slots for rings which were made in
different sizes. Besides jewellery boxes, manufacturing snuff and tea box was a common
phenomenon, however the origin of boxes with or without lids in general is also not specified we can
only trace it after the rise of trade and commerce where the very first jewellery box might have been a
ceramic jar which was a typical material to carry goods in ancient

The Importance Of Rape In The American Civil War
Before the American Civil War, the US was both a provincial and a proprietary colony of England and
directly ruled by the Monarchy. All executive and legislative powers were subjugated to the statute
and royal charters from Britain. The common law had supremacy over punishments, and local rulings
were subject to precedents and stare decisis of superior courts in England.
One sexual crime that was prolific up the civil conflict was rape. There was a statutory prohibition
against abuse, and the punishment could be being banished, fines, public beatings or marriage between
the parties if they were single. There was no provision for the rape of a male. However, in these
moralistic statutes did not extend to slaves who frequently subjected to sexual exploitation. The law
declared slaves to be chattels which were owned and exploited at the whim of its masters. Rape
commonly used to break the will of both male and female slaves and to increase the slave population
for financial gains by masters becoming breeders and selling the offspring profitably. Challenges to
such barbaric behaviors by a slave could result in the demise of challenger and a separation of families
to distant plantations. However, the rape laws and plantation rules were strictly and severely enforced
against the slaves, which saw arbitrary and cruel punishments being imposed which often was torture
and death.
Rape is still as pervasive as it was in the period before the civil war and enactments have target

The State Of The Texas Education Policy
The current state of the Texas education policy is very complex and its roots can be traced all the way
back to times were there was no equality in the public school system, we can even say it can be traced
as far back to the state s split from Mexico. This was a very problematic situation that began to be
reformed heavily starting in 1954. The legislations that passed to resolve this problem have morphed
the Texas Public education policy into what it is today.
It was because of the split from Mexico that Texas created the Constitution of the Republic of Texas,
which included a clause in it that established a public school system, but it wasn t successful in
achieving that goal until 1954 when a bill was passed. This plan was to be ... Show more content on

While the Texas public school system may not be segregated now it took a lot of court cases to get
there due to Texas past as a highly segregated state. While this is the route that Texas takes, the United
States simply takes the route of creating acts such as Race and National Origin Discrimination.
Desegregation has been a troubling issue in not only the Texas public school system but also the

Narrative Essay On Daisy Buchanan
As I stepped onward onto the scorching New York streets, Daisy s hand in mine, I glanced back at the
illustrious structure of the Plaza Hotel, in utter disgust of the confrontation which occurred moments

in front of my one true love: Daisy. My mind soon drifted to her as she released her hand from mine
and approached my yellow coupe. She gazed at the ground with lost apprehension. I fetched my keys

Application Of The Additive Manufacturing
INTRODUCTION Additive manufacturing has been developing since 19841. Charles hull invented it.
In additive manufacturing 3 dimensional products are built by staking materials layer by layer. It is
also known as 3D printing. The scope of technology is sky rocketed with the intervention of the fourth
dimension time, which is 4D printing technology. The interesting feature of 4D printing is it can
transform from 1D to 3D shape, 1D surface to 3D shape, or can morph from 3D form to another form.
In other words, the products can change and adapt to the external stimuli. This is a recent
advancement in technology additive manufacturing combined concepts of shape memory materials
and biomimetic composite In a TED conference Sky Tibbits head of MIT self assembly lab, he
presented, how 4D printed object will perform self assemblies over time period. He demonstrated this
process by using 3D printed multi layer material. The multi layer material was strands of standard
plastics which has property of absorbing water. The material will expand and folded into particular
design after absorbing water.
Recent development and researches in 4D printing Another demonstration of 4D printing conducted
on long beach, CA, prefabricated modules placed in rotating chamber. The modules have a magnet at
end. The magnet will activate only when the chamber attains particular temperature. At specified
temperature, the magnets will attract each other and

Warning about the Sig (2 Tailed) value When you are computing Pearson s r, significance is a messy
topic. When you have small samples, for example only a few participants, moderate correlations may
misleadingly not reach significance. When you have large samples, for example many participants,
small correlations may misleadingly turn out to be significant. Some researchers think that
significance should be reported but perhaps should receive less focus when it comes to Pearson s r. So
what about the scatterplot? You can find your scatterplot in your output file. It will look something
like the graph below. You will see a bunch of dots. Your scatterplot can tell you about the relationship
between variables, just like Pearson s r. With it, you can determine the strength and direction of the
relationship between variables. Relationship strength Try to imagine a line that connects the dots in
your scatterplot. Is this an easy or difficult task? This task can help you determine the strength of the
relationship between your two variables. If your variables have a strong relationship, it will be easy
for your to imagine a line connecting all of the dots. For example, in our example scatterplots, the dots
seem to go together to form a straight line. However, some scatterplots do not look like this. With
some scatterplots, the dots are scattered about so

Soil sickness of sugarcane monoculture, expressed as a reduction of cane yield, stalk diameter and
biomass when sugarcane is cultivated on the same soil sequentially, is one of the foremost problems in
sugarcane production, particularly in field conditions (Li et al. 2015; Li and Yang, 2015). Sugarcane is
an important crop in Guangxi, China, but due to its long duration annual economic returns tend to be
lower than some other crops. Intercropping of short duration crops with sugarcane could increase
benefits. Our result showed that lower sugarcane yield under monoculture system in both the
locations, but intercropping systems had minor enhancement although it is not statistically significant.
Moreover, sugarcane with soybean intercropping had higher productivity than monoculture and
sugarcane with peanut. These results indicated that intercropping sugarcane with soybean was
beneficial for sugarcane yield and soil sickness relieving. The same yield promoting effect had also
been observed in sugarcane potato (Singh et al. 2010), soybean sugarcane intercropping (Yang et al.
2013) and sugarcane cassava intercropping (Li et al. 2015). Thereafter, quality of cane juice was also
showed no significant effect with intercropping and these results also correlated with previous
research on sugarcane intercropping (Yang et al. 2013). However, intercrops selection should carefully

Doyle s work Sherlock Holmes: The Hound of the Baskervilles became incredibly popular and was
eventually recognized as an American classic. Through his novel, Doyle portrays a fantastic use of the
elements of fiction and takes advantage of them in order to provide depth and understanding. The
novel first takes place in the 1880 s, in London, at Sherlocks famous office on 221B Baker Street. This

seriously. He even later says in a letter to Sherlock, I imagined what my feelings would be if I had to
return to you and confess to you that some misfortune had occurred through my disregard for your
instructions, (Doyle 125). Watson holds in high regard the things that Sherlock says to him and will
always attempt to follow what he says with intent to please him. Jack Stapleton and Henry Baskerville

Definition of Agency Theory
Definition of Agency Theory
A supposition that explains the relationship between principals and agents in business. Agency theory
is concerned with resolving problems that can exist in agency relationships; that is, between principals
(such as shareholders) and agents of the principals (for example, company executives). The two
problems that agency theory addresses are: 1.) the problems that arise when the desires or goals of the
principal and agent are in conflict, and the principal is unable to verify (because it difficult and/or
expensive to do so) what the agent is actually doing; and 2.) the problems that arise when the principal
and agent have different attitudes towards risk. Because of different risk tolerances, the principal and

Outside investors recognize that the firm will make decisions contrary to their best interests.
Accordingly, investors will discount the prices they are willing to pay for the firm s securities.
A potential agency conflict arises whenever the manager of a firm owns less than 100 percent of the
firm s common stock. If a firm is a sole proprietorship managed by the owner, the owner manager will
undertake actions to maximize his or her own welfare. The owner manager will probably measure
utility by personal wealth, but may trade off other considerations, such as leisure and perquisites,
against personal wealth. If the owner manager forgoes a portion of his or her ownership by selling
some of the firm s stock to outside investors, a potential conflict of interest, called an agency conflict,
arises. For example, the owner manager may prefer a more leisurely lifestyle and not work as
vigorously to maximize shareholder wealth, because less of the wealth will now accrue to the owner
manager. In addition, the owner manager may decide to consume more perquisites, because some of
the cost of the consumption of benefits will now be borne by the outside shareholders.

also attributable to the financial crisis of 2008.It is also estimated that more than 100,000 people were
affected, directly or indirectly, due to this ban.
Nearly half of China s toy factories closed last year. The country started the year with 8,610 factories
producing and exporting 70 per cent of all the world s toys. By the end of 2008, only 4,388 remained a

Women s Role Of Women In The Middle Ages
During the medieval times, women were not seen as they are today. Although in the world today there
are still those who are full of misogyny, it was much more common and intense during this time
period. Women during the middle ages had specific roles assigned to them in society. These roles
depended on the type of women they were, whether it be a peasant, noble woman, or an evil
temptress. These roles that women have served have shown up in numerous stories from the middle
ages including: Beowulf, Sir Gawain and the Green Knight, and The Wife s Lament. The hardest life
to live during the middle ages was most likely that of a peasant woman. Many of the roles that these
peasants had go undocumented and are rarely seen in famous literary works of the time. In Women in
the Medieval English Countryside : Gender and Household in Brigstock before the Plague by Judith
M. Bennett, she describes the peasants woman s role as Under a new authority that of their husbands
(100). These peasants, much like the noble women of the time, were to do as their husbands told them.
These women, unlike the nobles, would actually do manual labor work. Their roles were to work in
the house as well as work in the field plowing and gathering crops. In The Wife s Lament the narrator
,the wife, speaks about being banished to live in the forest. This shows the misogynistic views of the
time in comparison to today where no woman would be forced to leave a town and be told to ...Live in

Wolfgang Reitherman s 1967 film, The Junlgle Book, is best known as the last animated film Walt
Disney personally supervised (Solomon). Walt Disney and his Disney artist used Rudyard Kipling s
original stories and created a family film that is enjoyed today. Reitherman starts the opening scene
with an abandoned crying man cub, Mowgli, lying in the river. Bagheera, the panther, finds the boy
and then transports him to a local wolf family where he is raised. As the boy grows, Bagheera grows
eerie and insist that the boy be taken back to the nearby man village. When Mowgli shows resentment,
he is quickly reminded of the dangers of the jungle. Mowgli is saved at the last second when a snake

The Jungle Book was originally a darker story that did not fit into the typical Disney movies, but Walt
Disney found a way for The Jungle Book to become Disney s next big hit. Walt allowed Peet to take

PEST Analysis of Myer
The PEST analysis helps to explain the critical factors in the organization s external environment. The
factors include political, economic, social and technological. For Myer, these forces combine with the
internal factors, and other external factors like competition. The Australian consumer goods retail
market is worth $121 billion (IBISWorld, 2012) but is heavily fragmented. Myer is the third largest
company in the industry behind David Jones and Harvey Norman, but with $3.158 billion in sales
holds just 2.6% market share (Myer 2011 Annual Report). This implies that competition is only one of
many factors that can contribute to the company s results. This PEST analysis will help to identify the
other major factors.
The political environment encompasses factors such as regulations, taxation, trade policy and the legal
environment. For the most part, the regulatory environment is stable, with no major changes set to
affect the industry. Australia s corporate tax rate is slightly above the OECD average (Treasury.gov.au,
2012), but as all of the company s major competitors are also Australian, this is neither an advantage
nor disadvantage competitively. There is currently a proposal to cut corporate tax rates, but this is
meeting with opposition because of its structure, so there is doubt as to whether this will pass (Scott,
2012). The political environment may not be right for a tax cut, but tax policy affects all major
competitors equally, so while such a cut would

Essay on The Science of Rocks
1. According to Thompson and Turk (2011), there are two types of igneous rocks extrusive and
intrusive and the primary difference between the two types of igneous rocks is that the rocks are
formed in two separate locations: within the Earth s crust and on the Earth s surface (35). Extrusive
igneous rocks form when magma rises all the way through the crust to erupt onto Earth s surface (35).
Since the crystals do not have much time to grow, extrusive sedimentary rocks, also commonly known
as volcanic rocks, have fine grained textures, with crystals too small to be seen with the naked eye
(Thompson Turk, 2011, 36). For example, basalt is a common very fine grained volcanic rock. On the
other hand, intrusive igneous rocks form when ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The difference in the mineral composition is apparent in the rocks color and grain texture. Since basalt
is a mafic rock, it tends to have a dark green to black, dark color, while granite tends to have a clear,
white, and pink light color (Thompson Turk, 2011, 37). Additionally, because basalt is an extrusive
igneous rock, it has a very fine grained texture, meaning that the crystals are nearly impossible to see
(Thompson Turk, 2011, 36). On the other hand, granite is an intrusive igneous rock, meaning that it
has a medium or coarse grained texture, where the mineral grains and crystals are easily visible
(Thompson Turk, 2011, 36).
3. According to Thompson and Turk (2011), sedimentary rocks are broadly divided into four
categories: clastic, organic, chemical, and bioclastic rocks. Clastic sedimentary rock is composed of
particles of weathered rocks, such as sand grains and pebbles (also known as clasts), which have been
transported, deposited, and lithified (38). Clastic rocks, such as shale, siltstone, and sandstone, are
composed of fragments of older rocks: clay, silt, and sand (38). Moreover, organic sedimentary rocks
consist of lithified remains of plants or animals, and the most common examples are coal, which is
made up of decomposed and compacted plant remains and

The Monroe Doctrine And The Modern Framework For American...
Intended as an annual message to Congress in 1823, President James Monroe s speech, The Monroe
Doctrine, evolved into the modern framework for American domestic affairs. Monroe s proposed
domestic policy was the President s way of attempting to secure The United States newly acquired
land. Not even a decade after the War of 1812 was resolved, many Americans were concerned when it
came to United States involvement in foreign wars. This unsettlement in America was largely due to a
controlling and tyrannical British rule that continuously restricted the United States until the treaty of
Ghent was signed in 1814. Despite this uneasiness within the young nation, the basic ideas that
Monroe addressed to Congress in 1823 were not given much significance. However, many
contemporary historians would consider The Monroe Doctrine to be one of the most cherished
principles of American foreign policy (Tindall and Shi 320). These historians would likely argue to
say that Monroe s ideas to keep European forces out of the United States, to refrain from getting the
American army involved in foreign wars, and to restrict the United States from imperializing with
existing European colonies created an enduring policy for the future of America.
With the help of Secretary of State John Quincy Adams, James Monroe was able to give a convincing
oration to Congress that would effectively structure foreign affairs for generations to come (Monroe
278). To begin his speech, Monroe warns Congress

The Death Penalty Is Not The Satisfaction Of Justice

The Death Penalty in America
The proper end of human punishment is, not the satisfaction of justice, but the prevention of crimes.
William Paley
The Death penalty is a very delicate topic. People can t just scream their believes to prove their point.
Today, the United States of America is in the minority of countries that still use the Death Penalty as a
punishment for certain crimes. Even though the controversy over the Death Penalty is overlooked
most of the time, the country divides into two groups; those who believe that it will reduce the crime

Was the Hittite code, which had about two hundred laws and punishment if one of this shall be
broken; Seventh century B.C. The famous Draconian code of Athens, which condemned all crimes
with death and in the Fifth century B.C. The Roman law of the twelves table, which included the
killing of an abnormal child or the deception in selling goods. Back then the execution methods were
very painful. The firs recorded sentence by death in the United States was in 1608, in Jamestown,
Virginia were Captain George Kendall was executed for treason by being a spy for Spain. In 1602, the
governor of Virginia Thomas Dale established the death penalty laws for minor offenses like killing
chickens or stealing grapes. The first woman recorded to be sentenced to death was Jane Champion in
1632 also in the state of Virginia but historians are not sure why was she sentenced. In the following
years death penalty became a common practice among other states. Although the executions weren t
as brutal as those from previous years the deaths of the convicted were still very unethical.
As the 1700 got closer the death penalty was already stablished all over the US only that the sentences
were public. This was because at first the death penalty was to stop criminals. The idea was to show
other citizens thinking in committing a similar crime what would happen to them if they get caught
this is why the executions were public. At that time fear began to rise upon the people, the fear of

A Debate on Brand Viability
01)Take a position on one of the following statements: a) All brands have a limited life as indicated by
the product life cycle and will slip or disappear. b) There is no reason why a successful brand can t
live forever. Provide examples to support your position. (1 page) I firmly believe that there is no
reason why a successful brand can t live forever. I recently read an article about Channel No. 5, a
brand of cologne and perfume that is passed from generation to generation. The tagline of the article
reads: Sometimes a perfume can be more than a fragrance. It can be a declaration of independence, a
rite of passage, even a potent link between the generations (Hingston, 2012). Some products or
services that people use become a tradition something that they always buy when celebrating or the
one person they rely on to make things right. There is the tailor who fits all the suits of the men in the
family young and old who is so special to the family (almost, it seems, like a family member) that they
wouldn t consider taking their alterations or new attire to anyone else. Interestingly, Channel No. 5 is
that kind of legendary product. Hingston wrote that Channel No. 5 was what I longed to smell like,
what I longed to be like, high end, exotic. It was what Mom wore on evenings out, to drink cocktails,
to participate in the adult world that was a mystery to me (2012, p. 60). All one really has to do to
understand the fantasy that Channel No. 5 conjured for a young

Best Wrestlers In Professional Wrestling
Every year the biggest event in all of professional wrestling is held; which is known as wrestlemania.
Everybody came to watch everyone to wrestle, but that was before the appearance of the Undertaker.
He was the most demonic wrestler of all time. He was straight from hell. He started preying on some
of the best wrestlers of all the wwe. He started with Jimmy Snuka, Jake The Snake Roberts (2 0),
Giant Gonzalez (3 0), King Kong Bundy (4 0), Diesel (5 0). Every year he came back for more. He
was stronger than any other man that s ever been in the ring.. This phenom was like nothing anyone
had ever seen. He tore them apart, had no mercy, and did not care who it was he beat them. Man after
man he rolled through them taking one win at a time. Some wondered when this terror would end
others thought that it would not. Every year he would come back for another superstar, he knew no
limit. Vince McMahon (the owner of the wwe) was getting worried that this terror that reigned over
them would last forever. He sent his best wrestlers after him and time and time again they came back
empty handed. He tried to plead with him, he sent in some of his lower wrestlers as sacrifices, but
there was no making a deal with the devel. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Fear And Mass Hysteria In Arthur Miller s The Crucible
Fear in The Crucible Fear is a powerful emotion. It defines humanity. The sole reason humans
continue to progress and invent is due to the fear of the unknown. Humans have feared the unknown
since the beginning of time. Therefore, it is logical that knowledge creates security. In scientifically
ignorant societies such as puritan Salem in 1692, fear runs rampant when dozens of innocent people
are accused of witchcraft and some hanged. In Arthur Miller s famous play
The Crucible, mass hysteria leads to the wrongful accusation and hanging of dozens of Salem citizens
for witchcraft. It also happened in 1962 when 62 textile workers came down with a disease that was
blamed on the bite of a Junebug. When fear becomes widespread and delusional as it has in Salem, it
is not fear anymore; it is mass hysteria, a condition affecting a group of persons, characterized by
excitement or anxiety, irrational behavior or beliefs, or inexplicable symptoms of illness. The human
behavior of mass hysteria is evident in both Arthur Miller s The Crucible and in the modern event The
June Bug Epidemic. The emotional mass hysteria that drives the plot of Arthur Miller s play, The
Crucible, is a wildfire ignited by several sparks in Act 1. As witchcraft first appears, Hale proceeds to
ask Abigail and Tituba questions and Abigail quickly turns the blame on someone else. During the
questioning of Abigail, Hale asks her a question and Abigail s response shocks everyone: HALE. You

Change the American Philosophy on Consumerism and the...
The best solution to the mortgage crisis America is facing today is both easy . . . and difficult to
execute. The solution is two pronged: change the American philosophy on consumerism and debt
while also making concrete changes in the way the lending industry works. Both demand taking a long
term view in order to be successful.
A New Philosophy
Changing one s philosophy is easy, but putting it into practice on a daily basis is not. One needs to
employ will power, diligence and the ability to think long term, all virtues that fell by the wayside
long ago in America. Anymore, Americans get what they want, when they want it from a seemingly
infinite list of choices and it is all purchased with credit. Americans pay for their immediate ... Show

As with any business, the savviest professionals are those who are truly educated in their field, and in
the case of sales, their products. Not only did banks offer exotic loans that were generally not
sagacious for most Americans, but individual salespeople didn t necessarily understand their products
(let alone buyers) which made for a risky combination that led to the current crisis. People signed on
the dotted line without understanding what they were committing to, and those employed to guide
them through the process were no more versed in the products themselves. Enforcing more stringent
certification requirements for individual loan officers would help salespeople to better understand their
products, making them more capable of guiding clients into the best fit loans. Finally, in addition to
increasing the level of training required for loan officers, it would be beneficial for borrowers to
demonstrate a certain level of understanding of what they are committing to. The costs of owning a
home are more complicated than a mortgage alone; with the purchase of a mortgage comes the
commitment to pay taxes, home owner s association fees and other hidden costs, not to mention the
fact that a person with a mortgage can get a home equity line of credit. Education programs that could
be offered through lenders would be

Tyson Food Advertising
False Marketing in the Food Industry
Advertisements play a vital role in a company s success. It is a marketing strategy used to increase
awareness as well as the sale of a product or service. In the early 1990 s Tyson Foods released TV
dinners featuring the cast of the Warner Brothers, Looney Tunes. On the print ad, they suggested that
this quick and easy form of dinner was nutritious and healthy for children. Despite the claims that
Tyson Foods had made on this particular advertisement, the ad redirects children and parents from the
real truth and leaves them clueless as to what a healthy meal really is. This type of invisible
advertisement has begun to jeopardize the health of our youth. There should be a ban put on
campaigning food ads ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Though they claim that their foods are nutritious, the film states otherwise by taking the audience to
tour several Tyson chicken farmhouses. In a chicken farmhouse ran by Vince Edwards for Tyson,
hundreds of chickens were raised in an enclosed area with no room to walk and no light to take in.
Prior to filming, Edwards agreed to let cameramen in the houses, however after Tyson got news of
what was happening Edwards was not able to allow any cameras in. A Perdue chicken grower let
cameramen into her chicken house and was able to show the harsh conditions that chicken must
endure. It is mentioned that due to the high demand of white meat, the chickens are injected with
hormones and sometimes get too tired to stand because of the extra weight put onto their legs. Other
then this, hundreds of chickens are cooped up with little to no space to roam free. They often step in
and lay in their poop. Though the company claims that their products are nutritious they definitely are

Atheist Mcatheism
In the Name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, You are Forgiven.
Atheist McAtheism,
I m glad we re on the same page about our views of unquestioning faith; it is terrifying that people
blindly believe things without having doubts or seeking to further their understanding. Have you ever
considered that there could be a god of some sort? Have you questioned your atheistic beliefs and faith
that there is nothing? From my experience, I know that all types of people hold various beliefs
unquestioningly, including atheists. Contrary to your belief, I argue that the notion of a god is far from
absurd. While these topics and proofs that I will discuss do not certainly, beyond a doubt, prove that
there is a higher being, they definitely point to the existence of one, proving the notion of a god to be
logical, with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He lived a completely sinless life, so he was able to take the sin from us and face God s just
condemnation concerning sin. God s righteous anger is directed toward the sin, not the sinners. He still
desires relationships with us, his children. He is able to save his creation by having Jesus fulfill the
Old Testament as explained in the Heaven and Earth Animation. In the Old Testament animal
sacrifices were required to create a clean space for God and humans to overlap, allowing human sin
and ugliness to overlap with divine perfection and love. In the New Testament, Jesus becomes the
permanent sacrifice to wipe away all of the ugly on our side of the overlap. He plays the role of
bringing God and humans back together by taking sins away from sinners so that we appear perfect in
God s eyes as Jesus was. Since Jesus death was not final, he continues to be the sacrifice opposed to
animals. He forever reigns over death and evil, offering to cleanse people so that they can reunite with
God. All the evil will be gone when Jesus comes back to conquer it once and for

Child Welfare Issues
I would rank these issues in order of importance starting with Child Welfare Concerns, Lack of
Quality Child Care, Lack of Parent Paid Leave, and Lack of Developmental Screening. Ultimately, I
believe, the welfare of a child should be put first if he or she is in danger of cracks in their
development. Usually, this wouldn t be the case if all parents were perfect and not misusing
substances or have any type of mental/medical issue. Another factor would be if their relatives are
unstable themselves, then it lead no other choice than to place them in a home they don t know
anything about. Since our nation has that problem, that is when a child is at risk for their development
if their parents arent stable and needed to be taken from the home and thrown in a foster home so
young, that it can indeed cause developmental delays. According to the Infant Mental Health Journal,
Previous research has suggested that infants in the child welfare system have many unmet
developmental and psychological needs, which make them difficult to care for, possibly exacerbating
their developmental ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As follows, Child welfare agencies have worked with treatment agencies and the courts to create new
practices and policies that take a collaborative approach toward achieving better outcomes for these
children and families (Young Collins). Working more with other agencies can create a stronger policy

their child again. Only if follow ups are mandatory to help track progress and for the good of the child.
Another way to solve this concern is, when skilled professionals come to the home to nurture
relationships between infant and caregiver (Berger 221). All in all, to solve this concern can lead to
children placed in the system to thrive when given the right

Binary Opposition In Euripides
Binary Opposition in the Works of Euripides Binary opposition, as defined by Corey Marvin simply
describes a pair of theoretical opposites or thematic contrasts. Euripides uses binary opposition as an
effective literary device in both the Medea and the Bacchae. One of the overarching dichotomies in
both works is masculinity versus femininity. In the Medea, the protagonist flips the gender roles, and
in the Bacchae, Dionysus androgynous nature allows him to often adopt a feminine persona in the
play. Many binary oppositions are encompassed in that of masculinity versus femininity, a few of
which are aggressiveness versus docility, intelligence versus ignorance, and the understandable versus
the mysterious. Medea exhibits typical ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These women, who are typically docile and reserved are the complete opposite while worshiping
Dionysus. They dance, make music and even hunt and kill animals with their bare hands, (Bacchae
736 737). . it is the Bacchae who kill Pentheus, dismissing forever the idea that they are purely
domestic. As the messenger relays, [a]ll the women, with blood spattered hands, were playing ball
with Pentheus flesh (1135). In the Medea, the dichotomy of intelligence versus ignorance is shown
when the protagonist s cunning is severely underestimated by all those around her. Jason believes that
she is foolish for carrying on as she does; he says, [y]ou women have come to such a point to think, if
things go right in bed, you have everything, (569 570) but he misses that she is angry about her station
in life and intends to change it. As Shirley A Barlow explains in Stereotype and Reversal in the
Medea, The protagonist is aware of more than the fact that she suffers and injustice. She is aware that
the root cause is beyond herself. (Barlow 160). Creon seems to glimpse what she is capable of when
he tells her that he fears her (282), but he still allows her to stay in Corinth for one more day, (355 6)
proving that he is ignorant after all. Medea is far more clever than the men around her and she knows
how to manipulate them. When she appeals to Creon (340) and later

Rules, Format and Terminology The Ryder Cup is played by the Rules of Golf determined by the USGA and applied by the PGA of America. Several types of matchplay are used during the Ryder Cup , including foursomes (two man teams taking alternate shots), fourball (betterball) and singles (18 holes at matchplay). The order of play during the first two days of the competition (foursomes or fourballs) is determined through mutual agreement of both teams captains. There are a total of 28 matches . Matchplay Guidelines Matchplay is a game played by holes. A hole is won by the team which holes its ball in the fewer strokes. Score is kept by the number of holes up (won) and the number of holes remaining. (Example: US is 2 up with 6 holes to play). When a team is up (winning) by more holes than there are holes left to play the match is closed out and a point is awarded to the winning team. One point is awarded for each point won. If a match is tied or halved through 18 holes of play, each team receives 1/2 a point. A total of 28 points are ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 4. Bigfoot Essay Bigfoot For over a 150 years man has been troubled by one great mystery, a mystery that has baffled all who have witnessed it and all who have tried to solve it. This mystery is commonly known as Bigfoot, a tall hairy man/ape who lurks in the woods in almost every country on this planet. Some say it is just an ape, some believe it is a man in costume, and others are true believers of this hairy phenomenon. For more than a decade and a half this creature of myth has caused enormous contradictions in the field of science, bringing about one question. Does Bigfoot exist? It can weight up to 1,000 pounds and it reach higher than eight feet in length (Gaffron, 16). Its footprints tell a lot about Bigfoot as well, from them scientists deduce his extremely wide strides of six to eight feet, the four inch to 24 inch foot size, and the unusual disproportionate width of the ball of its feet (Fahrenbach). With all its obvious differences Bigfoot also shares common traits with primates, for example the hair some bone structure, and a minimum mental capacity. From the United States to China people have reported seeing what they believe is Bigfoot. These encounters may or may not be true; one cannot know for certain the truth of such questionable things, the only thing that can be done is to keep an open mind. The most common sightings occur in remote regions in northern and southern California, by people claiming to see huge, hairy human like creatures. Most people that see a Bigfoot don t know what they ve seen, let alone know it s something worth reporting. These are some examples of sightings which have been recorded. Introduction Transportation is one of the most essential spheres of human s life in such aspects as economic growth, communication, tourism, and utilization of space. Thence, it is very important for it to have minimal effect on the environment, be safe, cheap, comfortable, and fast in use. Conventional transport, such as trains and airplanes, causes a number of problems including air pollution, high amounts of energy consumption, huge need of maintenance, high prices, and risks of safety, thus not being efficient enough. The most important aircraft problem is vast fuel utilization European Commission 2009 indicates that airplanes have huge CO2 emission 51.5 gram per passenger kilometer. In addition, serious risks of safety usually worry people, for instance, there is a recent loss of Boeing 777 airplane with all the passengers, which is usually considered to be very safe, and still cannot be found (Ranter 2014). Cysts are fluid filled sacs that vary in size depending on how much fluid is in the sac. This disease impacts the ability of the kidneys to filter waste products from the blood. In many cases, the growth of the cysts causes the kidneys to become enlarged which can lead to kidney failure. There are three types of polycystic kidney disease: autosomal dominant (ADPKD), autosomal recessive (ARPKD), and acquired cystic kidney disease (ACKD). This includes the voltage on the fences around the farm, the temperature of the milk that is in the vat and the activity of the water pump. A constant monitoring system of these three important farming aspects could improve farm profitability. A mobile phone application will be designed to incorporate monitoring of these three activities. If the fences do not have the required voltage on them this can result in animals escaping and injuring themselves. This can be difficult to monitor as currently to do this you are required to be on the farm using a fence tester. The milk temperature is required to be below 7 degrees Celsius within 3 hours by the milk company to ensure it is safe for human consumption. • 9. Legal Validity Of Natural Law Legal Validity in the View of Natural Law By: Micah A. Davis October 7, 2014 Abstract In this paper, I will propose that it is better to look at whether a law is legally valid or not through the perspective of natural law theory as opposed to positivist theory. My argument consists mostly of the language of improvement which can only exist based on the theory of natural law which states that law is something which has an objective truth behind it. Only when there is an objective mark to hit can there be hits and misses and I believe that positivism disregards the possibility of hits and misses entirely. So, my argument is that it makes more sense to consider legal validity of a law from the perspective of natural law rather than positive law because it includes not only the previously set up legal system when considering validity, but it also considers the general idea of some kind of morality as well. A sub argument is that the starting legal system must have had some basis by which to have been created and accepted which must be some form or notion of morality. Legal validity is how valid or forceful or authoritative a law is within a system ( Validity ). There are many different ways to interpret what it means when a law within a system changes. One way to view it is in a positivist perspective. That perspective claims that when a judge changes a law, he is simply stating it based on the words in the law and his interpretation of words, ... Use the illustrations of the two customers to demonstrate your approach. What would be the selling price per kit or per cup for each customer? The costing approach should be based on per Transaction Basis rather than on per kit or per pound basis because of the following reasons: Current costs are allocated on a per kit basis, which is not an efficient cost allocation method. Operational costs should be same irrespective of number of kits. Equipment costs should be on a per kit basis as it depends on the number of kits sold. Operational costs including Personnel costs, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... What impact might it have upon the business strategy of the firm? If Stuart Daw adopts the Transaction based Pricing Strategy it may face the following impact On Performance: The price per cup for both small as well as large customers is reduced. It can maintain competitiveness in the large customer segment by maintaining 15% Profit Margin. Revenue stream generated from the customer segments may get impacted with changes in Transaction Costs and subsequently Price per Kit. Improved cost allocation will ensure that the company can maintain competitiveness without any appreciation in costs to customers. On Strategy: The company should target to serve the large customer base with better profit margins and also choose to serve those small customers who are willing to pay the targeted price per kit. For difficult to serve small customers alternate and cost effective means of ordering, transporting and fulfilling the orders should be sought. Personnel costs, both direct and indirect should be brought under control. Promote bulk orders among the small customers so that effective price/cup for small customers can be brought down. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There are several factors which influence adequate service. These elements are perceived service alternatives, situational factors, and predicted service. Perceived service alternatives are defined as other providers from whom the customer can obtain service (Zeithaml et. al., 2013, p.59). If customers have several service providers to select from, or if they can provide the service themselves, then their levels of adequate service are greater than those who believe it is not possible to get superior service in another place (p.59). Situational factors may be divided into two categories; uncontrollable situational factors and personal situational factors. Uncontrollable situational factors are service performance conditions that are beyond the service provider. For example, forces of nature such as a tornado or hurricane may affect a service provider in certain geographic areas. Customers may be more willing to accept a delay in service due to the effects if the natural disaster. Situational factors often lower the level of adequate service, widening the zone of tolerance (Zeithaml et. al., 2013, p.61). In society, she is a controversial and infamous example of a child that developed obesity due to parental feeding. Currently, Alana Thompson is trying to lose weight after being diagnosed as obese. Her BMI classifies her as obese, but this is no surprise considering her unhealthy eating practices. During beauty pageants, her mother provides her with a concoction of Mountain Dew and Red Bull to drink, which she calls Go Go Juice to give her the extra energy to help her become a pageant queen. When she is not drinking Go Go Juice , she consumes an overwhelming amount of junk foods like Oreos and chicken nuggets. Unfortunately, though this is not an individual case in society. • 16. The Importance Of Language In Hamlet By William Shakespeare A man with a unique manipulation of language had the power to captivate minds centuries ago, and yet his legendary voice is still heard today. William Shakespeare was the man of his time at the forefront of drama and play writing. It is no wonder he stood as a noble character by the king, because his literary works were so cherished by all of the people. His audience praised him, and they understood him, however, the language that was recognizable to them might be more unfamiliar to us. As an illustration, one might ponder why Shakespeare chose to assert in the famous tragedy Hamlet that This above all; to thine own self be true. A modern audience might translate the phrase to mean the most important thing is to look after yourself , but why is the phrase written in such a peculiar way? There is a certain rhythmic pattern along with distinct tools embedded in Shakespeare s voice that one must explore... and then the audience can fully become one with his thoughts and brilliant mind. First and foremost, one of the most appreciated tragedies written by Shakespeare is Macbeth. In this play the audience observes a loyal general transform into a betraying tyrant and establishes his own downfall, commencing with the murder of his own king. Undoubtedly, this piece of literature is rich in rhetorical devices and mechanisms that illuminate Shakespeare s words. Chiefly, the primary mechanism for which Shakespeare delivers is known as Iambic Pentameter . This tool consists ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

All forms of violence directly affect the health of the victim. The most effective way to approach violence in a community is to identify the root of the problem, identify those at risk, and treat those at risk. One way to identify the cause of an issue is to ask the people what they think the cause of violence in their community is. This could even mean asking the individuals that are committing the acts of violence why they are being violent towards others or even ask the community what makes them feel threatened. However, it is going to be difficult to get the violent citizens to explain to law enforcement agents or medical professionals why they are being violent. Once the violent citizens trust these professionals it will better help to identify the key cause of violence. When more people see that professionals are on their side to help them, not put them in jail, more people will be willing to assess this issue and work with professionals. Since professionals are working with the violent citizens, they can get the citizens the help that they need to try and prevent violence. Blij argues that the American public is the most geographically illiterate society in the world. Blij blames this decline with the poorly formulated curricula in the American school systems, which ultimately originates from Washington D.C. and the people that run this country. If I had never seen this central theme in action in a classroom I would have been dumbfounded. Economically, China is closing rapidly, but even the sleeping giant as Napoleon Bonaparte called it, has its limits. For example, let us look at both China attempting to exert control over the South China Sea and also with the Senkaku Islands. Both of these areas are becoming more and more hostile, which ultimately could lead to deadly military engagements. With that being said, Blij also proposes an argument that I have been pondering for a while and that is a potential cold war between the U.S.A. and China. On the outside it seems as if there is a potential collision course to that conclusion. However, Blij does offer an interesting solution to this possibility and it is one that I believe should be the strongest takeaway. In addition, Lord Capulet failed to stop Tybalt s rage and was too forceful to Juliet. Firstly, the feud between the Montagues and Capulets contributed to the deaths of the lovers. This is seen when the chorus states in the prologue, Two households, both alike in dignity... From ancient grudge break to new mutiny, Where civil blood makes civil hands clean (I, Prologue, 1 4). This refers to the long standing feud between the Montagues and Capulets, which is the primary source of conflict in the play. This feud between the families resulted in the love between Romeo and Juliet to be forbidden, which caused great difficulty for the lovers. Therefore, if the parents would forgive the other family and end the feud, Romeo and Juliet would have likely been able to safely fall in love and marry, perhaps their love would even be encouraged, thus avoid their unnecessary deaths. Secondly, Lord Capulet failed to contain Tybalt s anger, which eventually led to Romeo s banishment, causing complications and the lover s deaths. During the Capulet party, Tybalt had discovered that Romeo attended uninvited, as a result, Tybalt was furious and intended to slay Romeo, but Lord Capulet intervened and stopped Tybalt. Due to Lord Capulet s failure to prevent Tybalt s violent outburst, a series of events was set in motion: where Tybalt killed Mercutio, and in a rage, Romeo slew Tybalt, resulting in his banishment. The hardest life to live during the middle ages was most likely that of a peasant woman. Many of the roles that these peasants had go undocumented and are rarely seen in famous literary works of the time. In Women in the Medieval English Countryside : Gender and Household in Brigstock before the Plague by Judith M. Bennett, she describes the peasants woman s role as Under a new authority that of their husbands (100). These peasants, much like the noble women of the time, were to do as their husbands told them. These women, unlike the nobles, would actually do manual labor work. Their roles were to work in the house as well as work in the field plowing and gathering crops. In The Wife s Lament the narrator ,the wife, speaks about being banished to live in the forest. This shows the misogynistic views of the time in comparison to today where no woman would be forced to leave a town and be told to ...Live in a grove of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 36. The Rholgle Book Wolfgang Reitherman Comparison Wolfgang Reitherman s 1967 film, The Junlgle Book, is best known as the last animated film Walt Disney personally supervised (Solomon). Walt Disney and his Disney artist used Rudyard Kipling s original stories and created a family film that is enjoyed today. Reitherman starts the opening scene with an abandoned crying man cub, Mowgli, lying in the river. Bagheera, the panther, finds the boy and then transports him to a local wolf family where he is raised. As the boy grows, Bagheera grows eerie and insist that the boy be taken back to the nearby man village. When Mowgli shows resentment, he is quickly reminded of the dangers of the jungle. Mowgli is saved at the last second when a snake named Kaa almost devours the man cub. To Bagheera s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Walt stepped in after the original story was fleshed out and decided to voice his concerns. It was too dark for Disney, who wanted a friendlier, light hearted version, insisting that Peet change it (Anne 2011). The film originally was to be told in medias res, but once again, Walt decided that was not how he wanted it. The main character Mowgli can also be seen as a man amongst beast and a dominate race. • 37. PEST Analysis of Myer The PEST analysis helps to explain the critical factors in the organization s external environment. The factors include political, economic, social and technological. For Myer, these forces combine with the internal factors, and other external factors like competition. The Australian consumer goods retail market is worth $121 billion (IBISWorld, 2012) but is heavily fragmented. Myer is the third largest company in the industry behind David Jones and Harvey Norman, but with $3.158 billion in sales holds just 2.6% market share (Myer 2011 Annual Report). This implies that competition is only one of many factors that can contribute to the company s results. This PEST analysis will help to identify the other major factors. The political environment encompasses factors such as regulations, taxation, trade policy and the legal environment. For the most part, the regulatory environment is stable, with no major changes set to affect the industry. Australia s corporate tax rate is slightly above the OECD average (Treasury.gov.au, 2012), but as all of the company s major competitors are also Australian, this is neither an advantage nor disadvantage competitively. There is currently a proposal to cut corporate tax rates, but this is meeting with opposition because of its structure, so there is doubt as to whether this will pass (Scott, 2012). The political environment may not be right for a tax cut, but tax policy affects all major competitors equally, so while such a cut would ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 38. Essay on The Science of Rocks 1. According to Thompson and Turk (2011), there are two types of igneous rocks extrusive and intrusive and the primary difference between the two types of igneous rocks is that the rocks are formed in two separate locations: within the Earth s crust and on the Earth s surface (35). Extrusive igneous rocks form when magma rises all the way through the crust to erupt onto Earth s surface (35). Since the crystals do not have much time to grow, extrusive sedimentary rocks, also commonly known as volcanic rocks, have fine grained textures, with crystals too small to be seen with the naked eye (Thompson Turk, 2011, 36). For example, basalt is a common very fine grained volcanic rock. On the other hand, intrusive igneous rocks form when ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The difference in the mineral composition is apparent in the rocks color and grain texture. Since basalt is a mafic rock, it tends to have a dark green to black, dark color, while granite tends to have a clear, white, and pink light color (Thompson Turk, 2011, 37). Additionally, because basalt is an extrusive igneous rock, it has a very fine grained texture, meaning that the crystals are nearly impossible to see (Thompson Turk, 2011, 36). On the other hand, granite is an intrusive igneous rock, meaning that it has a medium or coarse grained texture, where the mineral grains and crystals are easily visible (Thompson Turk, 2011, 36). 3. According to Thompson and Turk (2011), sedimentary rocks are broadly divided into four categories: clastic, organic, chemical, and bioclastic rocks. Clastic sedimentary rock is composed of particles of weathered rocks, such as sand grains and pebbles (also known as clasts), which have been transported, deposited, and lithified (38). Clastic rocks, such as shale, siltstone, and sandstone, are composed of fragments of older rocks: clay, silt, and sand (38). Moreover, organic sedimentary rocks consist of lithified remains of plants or animals, and the most common examples are coal, which is made up of decomposed and compacted plant remains and ... • 39. The Monroe Doctrine And The Modern Framework For American... Intended as an annual message to Congress in 1823, President James Monroe s speech, The Monroe Doctrine, evolved into the modern framework for American domestic affairs. Monroe s proposed domestic policy was the President s way of attempting to secure The United States newly acquired land. Not even a decade after the War of 1812 was resolved, many Americans were concerned when it came to United States involvement in foreign wars. This unsettlement in America was largely due to a controlling and tyrannical British rule that continuously restricted the United States until the treaty of Ghent was signed in 1814. Despite this uneasiness within the young nation, the basic ideas that Monroe addressed to Congress in 1823 were not given much significance. However, many contemporary historians would consider The Monroe Doctrine to be one of the most cherished principles of American foreign policy (Tindall and Shi 320). These historians would likely argue to say that Monroe s ideas to keep European forces out of the United States, to refrain from getting the American army involved in foreign wars, and to restrict the United States from imperializing with existing European colonies created an enduring policy for the future of America. With the help of Secretary of State John Quincy Adams, James Monroe was able to give a convincing oration to Congress that would effectively structure foreign affairs for generations to come (Monroe 278). In the following years death penalty became a common practice among other states. Although the executions weren t as brutal as those from previous years the deaths of the convicted were still very unethical. As the 1700 got closer the death penalty was already stablished all over the US only that the sentences were public. This was because at first the death penalty was to stop criminals. Provide examples to support your position. (1 page) I firmly believe that there is no reason why a successful brand can t live forever. I recently read an article about Channel No. 5, a brand of cologne and perfume that is passed from generation to generation. The tagline of the article reads: Sometimes a perfume can be more than a fragrance. It can be a declaration of independence, a rite of passage, even a potent link between the generations (Hingston, 2012). Some products or services that people use become a tradition something that they always buy when celebrating or the one person they rely on to make things right. There is the tailor who fits all the suits of the men in the family young and old who is so special to the family (almost, it seems, like a family member) that they wouldn t consider taking their alterations or new attire to anyone else. • 43. Fear And Mass Hysteria In Arthur Miller s The Crucible Fear in The Crucible Fear is a powerful emotion. It defines humanity. The sole reason humans continue to progress and invent is due to the fear of the unknown. Humans have feared the unknown since the beginning of time. Therefore, it is logical that knowledge creates security. In scientifically ignorant societies such as puritan Salem in 1692, fear runs rampant when dozens of innocent people are accused of witchcraft and some hanged. In Arthur Miller s famous play The Crucible, mass hysteria leads to the wrongful accusation and hanging of dozens of Salem citizens for witchcraft. It also happened in 1962 when 62 textile workers came down with a disease that was blamed on the bite of a Junebug. When fear becomes widespread and delusional as it has in Salem, it is not fear anymore; it is mass hysteria, a condition affecting a group of persons, characterized by excitement or anxiety, irrational behavior or beliefs, or inexplicable symptoms of illness. The human behavior of mass hysteria is evident in both Arthur Miller s The Crucible and in the modern event The June Bug Epidemic. The emotional mass hysteria that drives the plot of Arthur Miller s play, The Crucible, is a wildfire ignited by several sparks in Act 1. Enforcing more stringent certification requirements for individual loan officers would help salespeople to better understand their products, making them more capable of guiding clients into the best fit loans. Child Welfare Issues I would rank these issues in order of importance starting with Child Welfare Concerns, Lack of Quality Child Care, Lack of Parent Paid Leave, and Lack of Developmental Screening. Ultimately, I believe, the welfare of a child should be put first if he or she is in danger of cracks in their development. Usually, this wouldn t be the case if all parents were perfect and not misusing substances or have any type of mental/medical issue. Another factor would be if their relatives are unstable themselves, then it lead no other choice than to place them in a home they don t know anything about. Since our nation has that problem, that is when a child is at risk for their development if their parents arent stable and needed to be taken from the home and thrown in a foster home so young, that it can indeed cause developmental delays. Binary Opposition In Euripides Binary Opposition in the Works of Euripides Binary opposition, as defined by Corey Marvin simply describes a pair of theoretical opposites or thematic contrasts. Euripides uses binary opposition as an effective literary device in both the Medea and the Bacchae. One of the overarching dichotomies in both works is masculinity versus femininity. In the Medea, the protagonist flips the gender roles, and in the Bacchae, Dionysus androgynous nature allows him to often adopt a feminine persona in the play.
