In The Royal Ballet's video, "The Sleeping Beauty: The Challenges of technically demanding roles,"
principal dancers Sarah Lamb and Steven McRae as well repetiteur Alexander Agadzhanov and
former director and producer Dame Monica Mason discuss the technical challenges of the lead roles
in the ballet The Sleeping Beauty and how dancers must balance the technical difficulty of the roles
with their artistry. Ballerina Sarah Lamb notes that one of the most difficult aspects of dancing the
role of Aurora in The Sleeping Beauty is the stamina that the role requires. Particularly, the
repetitive movements that she must complete. In order to prepare, she works with Agadzhanov, the
repetiteur, on repetition of the choreography in Act 1 so that she can build stamina and not be tired
during the actual performances. This strategy is similar to the structure of ballet study in general.
Every class, we start by working the basic movements (plies, tendus, etc) on the barre to train and
prepare our bodies for the work we do in the center such as petite allegro. Obviously it takes an
immense amount of preparation and training at the barre in order to see the results in the center.
Personally, I have been taking ballet classes since I was a toddler, but if the petite allegro we do in
class is very quick, it is as if I have never taken a ballet before. The music demands my body to
move so fast that my technique cannot quite keep up. Suddenly, my toes are not pointed and my
alignment not held. Like Lamb, I must do countless repetitions to build up my stamina and
technique so that my body is ready when I come to the center of the studio just as she does when she

of the more controversial diagnoses in psychology and psychiatry. On one side of the debate, many
psychologists and psychiatrists believe the disorder to be an actual phenomenon that occurs in
individuals that have suffered through some traumatic experience. On the other side of the debate,
however, are the many psychologists and psychiatrists that believe the disorder is simply the result
of a therapist's suggestion and guidance. The present paper, therefore, aims to look into this debate.
In particular, the paper discusses the criteria in which one is diagnosed with Dissociative Identity
Disorder, explores the history of the disorder, and presents both sides of the controversy of the

Jean and Leroy are unhappily married couple who are going through a transformation in their

Billy the Goat was a Goat. No questions asked. He was the terror of the City of Billyoligia. A
beautiful castle on a Mt. Billyupidus, a 3,000 ft. tall plateau that was about even with sea–level.
Billy had a wingspan of 20 ft. he had poison and had fangs as long as swords, he also could breathe
fire in dire situations. He had only retreated once due to the holyniss of a holy–hand grenade thrown
by the Popester who was, sadly, consumed in the explosion. But Billy the Goat was feared
throughout the plateau.
Now he was up in his castle playing a game of Texas–Hold 'em with his friends The Big Donkey
and Phredd. The peeps had said that he was also watching Sunday Night Foosball, the famed sport.
They have had the castle for over 20 years and have held it firm since then. The only payment so
that the smaller town was not destroyed is that they have to bring large shipments of Çandy. Çandy
was the most valued substance in the world at that time.
The Castle has been under siege for the past 5 years though, the citizens of Billyoligia had been

The term 'genius' is associated with an array of diverse connotations. When reviewing the literature,
it is vital to note that a specific definition and approach to measure whether or not a person is a

has "become a commodity, an ambition, and even a lifestyle." The underlying question is: how, and

In the novel, How to Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee, Dolphus Raymond or better known as, Mr.
Raymond, shows Scout and Dill the truth behind the dark, unfair world that Scout and Dill are
growing up in. Mr. Raymond shows the kids that they can have there own opinions, and that they
can stick to it, no matter what. Maycomb doesn't quite get Mr. Raymond, he's always drinking from
a paper bag, he sits with the African–Americans, and Jem tells Scout and Dill that he's had several

It is proven that children understand things better than adults. Mr. Raymond tells Scout and Dill his

In chapter one, page fifteen, I was intrigued by the quote, "I looked at my house in which I had spent
years seeking my God, fasting to hasten the coming of the Messiah, imagining what my life would
be like later. Yet I felt little sadness. My mind was empty."(Wiesel 15) This passage really caught
my attention because, in the quote it shows how affected they really were. in this quote he's saying
that, as hard as he tried to have faith in his god and pursue to the future of freedom, it gets harder
and harder to have the faith when you have nothing left. I really thought this quote was interesting
because it gives perspective on how affective this event was for the Jewish, they not only were
leaving everything they had behind, but some of the faith and religion they carried with them.
Page ten, chapter 1, I chose the passage," The race to death had begun."(Wiesel 10) as an important
style of writing. This quote is personifying how quickly death reached some of the Jews from
Sighet. I think this use of personification, which is the style figure of speech, is a big factor to the
text because, it enhances the amount of emotion it makes you feel while reading. In this passage, the
use of personification is a major element because it is making us feel the emotion of fear that they
all have.

In this excerpt of Mary Shelley's Frankenstein, the scene reveals the creature's desperation to
befriend the DeLaceys to escape his loneliness. After approaching the old DeLacey, he expresses his
yearning for companionship and protection from the family. However, Felix, Safie, and Agatha
suddenly enter the hovel and confront the creature. The "horror" (96) on the faces of his friends and
being struck "violently with a stick" (97) show the rejection that the creature experiences. His only
link to humanity is broken and he is isolated from society. This passage exhibits the central theme of

He is isolated from society, and it is proven when the DeLacey family rejects the creature for his
appearance. This passage parallels the creature's first rejection by his own creator, Victor
Frankenstein. Due to the his ugliness, Victor abandons his creation because of his "disgust" (35). As
a result, the creature is left to explore the world on his own without guidance. His appearance causes
him to be feared by nearly everyone he sees, and thus, he is isolated. Earlier, when the creature
encounters an old man, he "shrieked loudly" (73) and ran out of his hut. His physique is such a
cause of alarm for others, that even strangers leave their houses in fear. However, this passage shows
the "kindness" that the blind DeLacey showed. Since he could not see, the old DeLacey was the only
person who would listen to the creature, because he could not judge his appearance. He had
empathy. Still, the creature faced rejection. Subsequently, he believed that "solitude [was his] only
consolation" (61). The creature used isolation as a coping mechanism for his constant rejection.
However, this only contributed to his loneliness and suffering. The creature even compares himself
to the "devil" (93) to emphasise his seclusion. He uses this analogy to show his despair because even
the enemy of God "had his companions" (93). Frankenstein's creation is physically and emotionally

students who are at risk of not being academically successful (Tampke, 2012–2013; Bryan &
Simmons, 2009). Equally important, students entering college for the first time encounter significant
changes from those encountered in high school as the academic demands are usually more rigorous.
In addition, some freshman students struggle with academic success, which impacts persistence;
therefore, early intervention programs should be considered. According to Vanthournout, Coertjens,
Donche, and Van Petegem (2012), student academic persistence is an expected outcome of early
intervention programs. Learning Methods Course. Tuckman and Kennedy (2011) compared a group
of 702 freshman college students at a large mid–western university: half of the students took a
learning methods course, and half of the students did not take the course. The purpose of the course
was to assist students with increasing accountability, self–esteem, learning modality, readiness skills,
and managing their personal responsibilities. Data from the study concluded that students who
completed the methods course had a higher rate of persistence towards academic achievement, and
graduated at a higher rate than the students who did not take the course. Moreover, the occurrence of

Dr. Hannibal Lecter is a former psychiatrist who has been incarcerated because he is a cannibalistic
serial killer. It is believed that he has insight on another case that is occurring in their present about a
man who they are calling "Buffalo Bill" and Clarice must attempt to draw out what Dr. Hannibal
Lecter knows about this case. The disorder that Dr. Hannibal Lecter has is antisocial personality
disorder. This disorder has also been known as sociopathy.

or deceit to exploit others, using charm or wit to manipulate others for personal gain or personal
