Immigration Policy Historically Has Been Influenced By Our...
Immigration policy historically has been influenced by our country s fear to uphold traditional
American culture often rooted in a sense of anti immigration and xenophobia. We perpetuate this by
allowing the criminalization of communities of color, mainly with the large Latino population in the
U.S. A large portion of the immigrants who arrive in the country are fleeing dangerous homelands
pitted with economic and political turmoil. Their situation is worsened by our country s broken
immigration system where families are separated, immigrants are exploited as work labor,
discrimination is rampant, and the pathways to citizenship are convoluted at best. We as a country
need to uphold our values of freedom and equality when immigrants come to our country and reform
our immigration system to be more reflective of this. In light of the recent occurrences with ISIS
related terrorism committed by foreigners such as the San Bernardino shooting or the Orlando night
club shooting, there has been some resistance from the country in regards to immigration. Additionally
the age old worry of job security also heightens our sensitivity towards immigrants with jobs, as they
compete for them. Despite this, Clinton s Immigration policy seeks to transform the U.S. into a
version of our former selves with family at the heart of her immigration policies. In regards to this,
Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has a long history of promoting immigration changes through

Ellen Narrative
Ellen and I were growing up and along with getting older, came more responsibility and even some
independence. By now, our mother trusted us to walk to town unaccompanied to pick up a few
groceries, happy to do so, we carried our willow shopping basket, money in one hand and a grocery
list in the other, with a note to give to the store clerk who would gather the required items for us. We
felt so grown up as we walked to the Abtsweg together, not in a group as we did when we walked to
school with our friends, but just the two of us; my sister and I, wearing matching brown coats and
perfectly starched bows in our hair. When we returned home and proudly handed Mom the basket
filled with all the correct items, she praised us endlessly and when Ted s parents phoned, boasted
about our accomplishment. They too, were pleased and realized that Ellen and I were growing up. One
afternoon, during an unexpected visit from Opa Taco and Oma Tine, our presence downstairs was
requested when they rang the doorbell upon their arrival. Wondering what was going on, Ellen and I
hurried to the street level to find our grandparents standing in the common entryway, holding the front

my mother had a brilliant idea. Pinocchio; Walt Disney s second animated feature film was playing at
the cinema in Rotterdam. The movie featured Figaro; the pet cat of Mister Geppetto; the artist who
created Pinocchio and magically gave him life. Ellen and I were crazy about that cat, therefore, Mom
thought that, Figaro made a wonderful nickname for Mr. Smits. That was it, from that moment on we
addressed him as Figaro, which we soon abbreviated to Fiq (pronounced Feak ) and Fiq loved his new

the company. Financial ratios can be divided into five categories. There are: 1. LIQUIDITY OR
SOLVENCY RATIOS a. Current Ratio Theoretically, current ratio of 1 means that the company have
cash and cash equivalents that are equal to current debt. Current ratio above 1 defines that company
has sufficient cash and cash equivalents to pay back the current liabilities. While current ratio below 1
define that company lack of cash and cash equivalents to pay back the current liabilities. In 2001
Caltron Ltd. has the current ratio of 2.99 and it proved that it has high liquidity due the current ratio
higher than industry average of 2.7. During 2002 Caltron Ltd. has current ratio of 1.89, which is below
the industry average but still manageable where any current ratio above than 1 still consider good
liquidity measure of the company. However, in 2003, Caltron Ltd. has current ratio 1.39 which is

The Beauty Of Victoria s Secret
Behind the Beauty of Victoria s Secret Introduction: I remember the first time I ever stepped foot into
a Victoria s Secret, I was fifteen years old. I was mesmerized by the bright pink and white walls. The
signature PINK dogs scattered all over the PINK side of the store. The cosmetics section was
sparkling in the distance and the signature fragrances filled the air. I remember the feeling of finally
being grown up, here I was shopping for fragrances and bras in the same store that my Mom and Aunt
bought theirs at. When you are fifteen there is nothing else in the world that matters more than feeling
grown up, you are no longer a kid and there is a whole new world for you to explore. Talking to
women, most have the same first experience at the store, in fact it is nearly the closest thing to magic
some young girls will experience in this era of their lives. This unfortunately, is not going to be about
that coming of age experience this paper is a whole lot deeper than any fifteen year old girl buying her
first grown up bra could ever imagine. Victoria s Secret a common name in households with women
from young adulthood to mature womanhood. What is Victoria s actual secret you may ask? That
would be a whole behind the scenes world of global fair trade issues and sweatshops. When you start
to think about a company that many women shop at you do not think about where the objects you are
buying are really coming from. This is a company after all that has vouched for free

Amiri Baraka Violent Language and Rhetoric
Amiri Baraka, formerly known as LeRoi Jones and Imamu Amear Baraka, was an African American
writer of poetry. His political stance and his aesthetic interests were shaped very early by a desire for
black cultural independence, and for greater recognition of the historical contribution of blacks to all
American culture (Osterndorf). His poems are striking for their venomous language and for their
rhetorical violence. The rhetoric of rage/violence utilized in his literary works not only captivates the
audience but also serves as a vessel to channel his frustrations and call for action. I will deconstruct
and analyze the language ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Amiri Baraka was not interested in mere politics but rather deconstructing roles assigned by the Anglo
American oppressor, he aimed at instilling collective action to his black community in order to
demand change while promoting black consciousness. The use of violent rhetoric and language in his
literary works is very powerful, it forces the reader to come across a new experience that he himself
must decipher and attach an emotional response to. Overall Amiri Baraka is an amazing poet whose
contributions continue to exert social, cultural and political change in modern day

Executive Summary
The operations management problem that our group chosen to discuss about occurs at a small, family
owned restaurant business called Good Greek Grill. Known best for their tasty greek food, the
company s primary problem is inventory management; trying to determine the order quantities and the
method of lot sizing and when to order so the company doesn t waste items with short life such as the
dairy products that uses like yogurt and milk. In the past the store has had been throwing away large
quantities of dairy products due to lack of forecasting the demand for dairy products as well as weak
inventory planning methods from unqualified employees. As a result, Good Greek Grill (G3) asked
our group to help them solve the problem since after getting a SOM class we are able to determine
methods towards solutions of Operational Management problems. The solution can be found by
getting to know what is the current reorder point and order quantity by using the EOQ (Economic
Order Quantity) inventory model . Cost cutting is essential as the store doesn t get enough customers
that are interested in the dessert and coffee products that are offered in store. Yogurt is used in our
dessert items which are the strawberry greek yogurt and the black

Employment generation through construction of rural roads, and ground water and minor irrigation to
support food security received much higher priority compared to need to enhance logistics to support
industrial growth and improving overall economic efficiency.
In five year plans a major goal was to connect all villages (with population of more than 1,500
inhabitants) with rural road network; however, this was done through minimum needs program
supporting employment creation and leading to waste and inefficiency. Most of the roads thus created
did not meet quality standards because fiscal space was not adequate to accommodate both the
demand for resources for rural roads and also the national highway network which was getting
congested. Even in the case of power sector, village electrification was a priority so as to provide
power for the farms, but not necessarily to households. Emphasis on connectivity, without
improvements in overall economic efficiency meant unsustainable financial burden on the government
budgets. In the time of slower economic growth or external shocks such as wars and high oil prices,
infrastructure investments were major casualty. China with its high economic growth rates and higher
savings rates was able to allocate much larger resources for investments in general. In the 1980, China
saved 35% of GDP whereas India s savings rate was less than half at 15.5%. This combined, with
higher fiscal deficits in

Baccalaureate Nurse
Some people think a nurse is a doctor s assistant or even someone who gives injections. However,
healthcare system has been changing over the last few decades, which has caused nurses roles to
change and expand. The needs of patient care require a holistic approach, therefore challenging and
requiring the profession to have a broad nature of discipline. In order to offer that specialized service
to society, the nurse is required to obtain a bachelor s degree and keep learning throughout his or her
career. For that reason, this paper will discuss three major roles of baccalaureate nurse as defined by
the American Association of Colleges of Nursing.

(AACN, 2008) When talking about representing a profession, nurses are wearing a professional
image. That professional image brings individuals who are sick and unable to act as they might, to rely
on those professionals to act on their behalf. Nurses need to exhibit their confidence and integrity as
expected by the patients they care for. It is the nurse s responsibility to support patient s decisions,
protect their rights and stand up for their best interests. As highly skilled advocates, nurses require
strong critical reasoning and judgment, communication skills and ethical knowledge. Therefore,
nurses are committed to lifelong learning.
Nursing professionals help individuals, families, and communities to attain, maintain, or recover
optimal health and quality of life. The needs of patient care have evolved together with the healthcare
system for a few decades, setting higher standards and delegating more roles for nursing professionals.
Nurses, especially those with a bachelor s degree, should always maintain continued education and
teach other healthcare professionals as well. This is to equip them with the tools required to deliver a

7. Symbolism: Using a person or object to represent an idea
Textual Evidence
Interpretation/Explanation
If you had known the virtue of the ring,
Or half her worthiness that gave the ring,
Or your own honor to contain the ring,
You would not then have parted with the ring.
What man is there so much unreasonable,
If you had pleased to have defended it
With any terms of zeal, wanted the modesty
To urge the thing held as a ceremony? (MV 5.1.199 206).
Throughout her monologue, Portia explains why Bassanio should not have given away her ring.
Refuting her own previous logic, Portia rebukes Bassanio for giving away her ring. One reason why
Portia is angry is because the ring was a symbol of Bassanio s love for her. Furthermore, one reason

William Bradford s Of Plymouth Plantation
William Bradford
Throughout William Bradford s Of Plymouth Plantation , his attachment to his religion was very
strong and very verbally shown throughout his work. Bradford was between the age of twelve and
thirteen when he had first heard his first sermon by a minister named Richard Clyfton and he later
joined with Clyfton in the year 1606. Bradford begins with ...some godly and zealous preachers, and
God s blessings on their labors... God is already being praised in the first few sentences of this work to
bless the labor of their works and throughout the land. The goal of this paper is to bring into light three
different sections throughout the work, where Bradford uses his religion to prove a point and to show
how his religious faith is freely expressed by leaving England.
In Bradford s work, there are instances, such as the moment before their departure from Leyden,
where he quotes from the scripture saying ...we might humble ourselves before God, and seek of Him
a right way for us, and for our children, and all our substances . Bradford was seeking for a safe
departure but also, praying that with this departure, they will find a new place to call home. Bradford
goes on giving a vivid picture of the activities that came before the departure, ...with friendly
entertainment and Christian discourse and other expressions of true Christian love . Even with their
departure to leave the next day many can t sleep or won t sleep due to the excitement, nerves, or terror

Larkin vs Abse on Relationships Essay
Larkin and abse discussing relationships
Philip Larkin and Dannie Abse have very different and contrating attitudes to relationships. On the
whole, Larkin presents the concepts of love and marriage as very superficial and meaningless,
whereas Abse appears to be less such nihilistic and more open and positive about such topics. The
essay will discuss this contrast by examing Larkin s Whitsun Weddings , Wild Oats and Arundel Tomb
, and Dannie Abse s Imitations and Sons . The poem entitled `The Whitsun Weddings` is an
observational piece by Larkin when he was travelling from Hull to London by train. The poem has
seven stanzas and is is typical of Larkin. The words are simple, the emotions are blunted and the ...

The heavy use of enjambment also carries this theory. Compare this to Dannie Abse s Imitations . The
poem centres on Abse s thoughts about his son and how he has become an adolescent. Although the
poem is rather negative, describing his son as a chameleon therefore suggesting his son is changing.
However unlike in Whitsun Weddings is less pessimistic, saying that although he will die like his son
his family name will be passed down the generations and expresses some affection for his offspring,
whereas Larkin has no such optimism, he focuses on the fact that he has no son and probably never
will, much like in Larkin s Dockery and Son where he contemplates his lack of contribution to his
species existence of how his life when he dies will cease to have meaning. The poem An Arundel
Tomb written by Phillip Larkin illustrates the relationship between two forms found on a tomb. This
poem shows the lies love can tell, and the falseness of how their relationship is portrayed. The fact
that their hands are clasped in one another s grip is seen to be symbolic of their undying and
everlasting love for each other. Larkin uses humour, along with sarcasm and irony to demonstrate that
this is in fact symbolic of nothing and merely by a sculptor s sweet commissioned grace . How can we
believe this evident lie, for it is

Essay on THE SOVIET-AFGHAN WAR
Introduction
The Soviet Afghan War spanned nine years from late 1979 to early 1989 encompassing the terms of
two Soviet premiers and two United States presidents. Known also as the Soviet Union s Vietnam War
it too was a war of technology and power against a hardened and adaptive guerilla militia know as the
Mujahedeen (people doing jihad) that lead to an undetermined victor and a withdrawal of Soviet
forces.
In 1978 the Democratic Republic of Afghanistan was a poor, agrarian and socialist government. With
close ties to the Soviet Union the Afghan government became a concern to the United States by
summer 1979 due to issues of instability and the loss of key U.S. allies in the region. Under President

That same year the Saur Revolution ended the rein of the ruling monarchy and transformed
Afghanistan into a socialist based democratic republic and friendship treaties were signed with both
the United States and Russia. In early 1979 middle east unrest reached a culminating point and a key
U.S. ally, the Shah of Iran, was ousted by the Islamic Revolution and the U.S. Ambassador to
Afghanistan was kidnapped and subsequently killed in a raid carried out by Afghan police and Soviet
advisors, this led to a breakdown in U.S. Afghan relations.
With radical Soviet influenced changes to the current Islamic culture encompassing land ownership,
marital law, education and social rights by the new Afghan regime tens of thousands of people in
traditional Islamic society fled Afghanistan or were imprisoned and executed by the government. This
began an Afghan civil war and the rise of the Mujahedeen in 1979. The United States took this as an
opportunity to coerce the Soviet Union into war by covertly arming the Mujahedeen in order to fight
the communist backed government. With the Afghan government losing credibility with the Afghan
people and control of the Afghan military by the desertion of soldiers willing to join the Mujahedeen
they called on their Soviet allies to provide military assistance. During the summer of 1979 Moscow
responded by sending enough men and equipment to provide security for the government in Kabul,

Papish V. Board Of Curator Case Study
Papish v. Board of Curators of the University of Missouri (1973) was a case concerning a student s
indecent publication on a university campus and whether or not a student remains protected under the
First Amendment. It was the first and the only case submitted to the Supreme Court concerning a
university newspaper. Upon the newspaper s publication, the student was expelled in the middle of the
spring semester after the university did not approve of its content.
While the First Amendment does protect the right to freedom of speech, university officials have some
authority in defining the limitations of freedom of speech and press on a campus setting. However,

on the time and place of distributing the newspaper issue, the student s being on academic probation,

the court ruling in favor of the university, however, was that they believed that the student s freedom
of expression could be limited if the publication was indecent and offensive to the university
community.
The Supreme Court decided differently, however, citing in a six to three judgment, in a relatively brief

The Recent Engagement of Contemporary Islamic Thought with Modernity in the West
Modernization theory has been one of the master theoretical narratives to understand the major
institutional and cultural transformation from traditional societies to modern ones. It was developed by
the founders of sociology and has dominated the widespread understanding and explanations of many
social differentiation processes including rationalization, individualization, urbanization, and
secularization for several decades. Thus, sociologists believed that the consequences of modernization

They suggest that we should re systematize and correct the classical theory of modernization in the
light of multiple modernities frameworks because multiple modernities do not assume that global
modernity is derived from the West as a single pattern (source) and describe the possibility of a plural
modernity experiences. In fact, there are many modernities, not only one single patter of
modernization. These developments forced sociologists for a paradigm shift in the dominant one side
understanding of western modernity.
In this context, Islam and the discourse of western Muslim intellectuals have gradually gained
visibility and significance through the continuing migration and the growth of new generations in the
western societies. Western Islam also has emerged in the hearth of modernity; yet did not follow the
same patters of classical modernization trends. However, it could not escape the hegemonic influence
of modernity. As a result, western Islam is emerging not only as a response to the challenges
(premises) of modernity, but also through a transformative dialectical engagement with the ethos of
modernity, which gradually pave the path towards the rise of Islamic modernism (Islamic modernity)
in the west. Hence, the multiple modernities thesis serves as a more adequate theoretical approach
than the prevailing modernization, the secularization perspective or many other approaches to

Sting-Site Analysis
Watch out before you dip those feet in the water! Next time you re on vacation in Hawaii or Alaska, be
cautious of the jellyfish that reside in these waters. The Alatina Alata and Chinorex fleckeri, most
commonly known as the Hawaiian and Australian Box Jellyfish, respectively, excrete one of the most
poisonous venoms when they sting. Several articles and websites post absurd remedies which claim
itself as a quick fix for this problem. In fact, it s a huge problem to be considered. Many misleading
articles may spread the word on methods of sting site relief which may cause potentially lethal
consequences resulting from the collection of false, unsupported data.
Scientists Angel Yanagihara and Christie Wilcox conducted an experiment to determine the most
effective way to prevent further aggravation of a sting site; the scientific article is published in the

A Journal Entry From An Unnamed Physician
Below is a journal entry from an unnamed physician in the court of King Henry VIII of England,
dated 1540. The article was typed using Microsoft Word, and was then annotated in order to highlight
key pieces of information and to provide the reader with relevant historical and philosophical details.
The entry follows:
While treating a common man with gangrene this morning, I realized that the best course of action
was to perform an amputation. His leg had become gangrenous and if left untreated, the man would
surely succumb to his ailment.
Rather than to call for a barber surgeon, I decided that it would be best to perform the procedure
myself; those surgeons were prone to mistakes and the anatomy I had learned while in Padua earlier
would make the surgery much safer.
I was confronted by Johnathan Watts, another physician in the court, during the procedure. He claimed
to have been searching for me and to my poor fortune, had seen me in the process of amputating the
man s leg. He seemed genuinely offended by what was transpiring, but I had told him to hold his
tongue and to allow me to finish; I had already finished cutting the flesh to the bone and had
commenced cutting through the bone.
He looked at me with disgust and walked away, but not before I heard his threat to inform the Church
authorities about what he had seen. I felt a chill go down my back as he said that and my head began
racing with thoughts of losing my licence and being punished in other ways . Later I

exploration of exotic lands. This film is cinema s most famous monster movie . Cinematography
contributes to this films theme of otherness and sympathy, shallow focus, tight framing, and confined
movement. Also, the sound within this film emphasizes what the audience/viewer should pay attention
to. The importance of sound within this film was critical as it created this effect that was developed
through the transformation from the silent era. Thus, through these special effects of cinematography
and sound creates a sympathetic gesture of the monster in which the audience feels sympathy to the
monster throughout this entire film. Kong may appear as this scary, giant monster, however, he does ...

Cinematography is a motion picture photography, which provides a diversity of experience in the
definition of artificial imagery and movement through landscape (Earl 181). Therefore,
cinematography is a continuous image between cuts. This particular technique offers a range of
options for representing, creating and understanding a cinematic point of view, which is shown
strongly within this 1933 film. As Ray Morton indicates in his book on King Kong that the
cinematography [in this film] is highly atmospheric [as it is] perfectly capturing the despair of the
depression era in New York, the nightmarish spectacle of the sacrifice scene, and the eerie beauty of
the mist covered prehistoric tableaus (Morton 80). Therefore, through cinematography it does create a
sympathetic monster. Thus, through these cinematic scenes, King Kong does show a well
cinematography approach as the camera is guiding the audience/viewers attention to present certain
things to the audience/viewers gaze. Also the camera

The Effect Of Alpha 3 Fatty Acid Supplementation On Cognition
The Effects of Omega 3 Fatty Acid Supplementation on Cognition in Alzheimer s Disease
In 2015, approximately 5.3 million Americans were living with Alzheimer s disease. As the baby
boom generation ages, that number is expected to increase by 10 million by the year 2050.1 Alzheimer
s is a neurodegenerative disease that causes brain cells to eventually die.2 The early and middle stages
are characterized by short term memory loss, confusion, and difficulty completing familiar tasks.2

39 male and female early stage Alzheimer s patients over the age of 55 were the participants in a study
in which Shinto et al. (2014) investigated omega 3 fatty acid supplementation s effect on cognitive
decline, as well as oxidative stress, an indicator of Alzheimer s disease. For 12 months, randomized
participants received either a placebo, an omega 3 fish oil supplement, or omega 3 fish oil with the
antioxidant lipoic acid.5 In addition to measuring lipid oxidation, researchers assessed performance on
three cognitive tests: the Mini Mental State Examination, the Activities of Daily Living [t]est, and the
Alzheimer s Disease Assessment Scale.5 Compared to placebo, the participants receiving both omega
3 fish oil and lipoic acid showed a higher reduction in oxidative measures and a deceleration in
cognitive decline, indicating that combining omega 3 with lipoic acid may slow cognitive decline in
Alzheimer s patients.5 However, this study was limited by a small sample size and short trial period of
only 12 months.5 Omega 3 fatty acid alone served as the investigational treatment in a study exploring
fish oil supplementation in subjects with mild cognitive decline, a precursor to Alzheimer s disease. In
this study conducted by Lee et al. (2013), 36 male and female

Four Ways To Amend Constitution In The United States
There are four ways to amend Constitution. One of the methods, also the most common method, is
when the House of Representatives and Senate both must vote on the proposed amendment. According
to the Constitution, for an amendment to pass it is required that the House of Representatives and
Senate (which make up Congress) must pass it with a two thirds majority. If it is approved by the two
thirds, then the proposed amendment is sent to the state legislatures for approval. It is required for the
three fourths of all state legislatures to approve the amendment. If it is approved, then the proposed
amendment becomes ratified and added to the Constitution. Second way to amend Constitution is
when proposed amendment approved with a two thirds vote

Treaty Of Versailles Easy Assignment
Treaty of Versailles Easy Assignment
Ultimately, the international community and The Treaty of Versailles played an exponential roll in the
onset of WW2 by putting too harsh of conditions on Germany. The Treaty of Versailles forced
Germany to take complete blame for WWI, practically abolished the German Military, ruined the
German economy, caused the loss of land, and caused countless other damages to the country. Thus
upsetting and angering the German people. As the war came to an end, the state of Germany was
malignant and in collapse. A revolution was spreading among Germany in the 1918 s 1919. This
revolution was inspired somewhat by the Russian revolution of 1917. On June 28th 1919 the treaty of
Versailles was signed and in August of 1919 the revolution came to an end replacing the imperial
German government with a Republic. This treaty should over all take the primary responsibility for
World War II. This treaty set the stage for many of Hitler s main arguments. Hitler ensured the
German people that he would take back the land they had lost, improve the German economy,
strengthen the German military, etc. etc. All of Hitler s arguments made possible by the treaty
Versailles. I am certainly not acknowledging and / or accepting the fact that The Treaty of Versailles
caused Hitler s wrath. However, it would be incredibly ignorant not to acknowledge the fact that this
treaty significantly helped Hitler s rise to power by setting the stage for Adolf Hitler s arguments.

Free College Should Not Be Free
When a child turns 5, they are required to start going to school until they turn 18, which is when they
graduate high school. From the point of graduating high school, there is a pressure on students to go to
college and get a degree. This is relevant today because most graduates from high school go to straight
college to get the career they strive for. Colleges should be free because it causes more focus on
education, most careers require a college degree and provide new opportunities for children.
College should not be free all because taxes would go through the roof and would create a vicious
cycle of fighting for careers between people. With making college free for everyone, ... taxes will go
up and all property owners whether they have college age children or not will, in fact, pay for the free
college (Norton). There s no way America could survive with taxes going higher. With taxes going up,
once you get out of college and find a job you start paying free college taxes even though you already
finished college. Other problem with college being free, there will be people getting the same degree
as each other, which would lead to them to fighting for the same career. This can lead to many people
being out of a career and create an outspread of people going back to college to study a different major
to start a different career path, but this creates a cycle. But with that being said free college provides
great opportunities for children to get the education they

Distortion In Doctor Strange
It s easy to go from having it all and fall straight to the bottom, but it is not easy to come back from
the bottom and return to the top. As shown in Doctor Strange, Stephen Strange is a phenomenally
known neurosurgeon who loses all use of his hands after a car accident. Due to the stubborn
tendencies of Strange, he is left alone as he experiments in vain surgeries trying to quickly return to
his successful life. Once learning of a man who said to be paralyzed, yet walked again somehow,
Strange hunts him down to learn how he did it so fast. He is lead to a place called Kamar Taj and
taken under the wing of The Ancient One and learns of the mystic energy they wield while also
catching on quickly and also having to stop Kaecilius the villain. Doctor Strange wields the strong
characteristics of visual distortion, abstractionism and exaggerated costuming, just like a German
expressionist film. The use of distortion was superiorly used in the film as it was used with the sets

Quick Change Methodology Report

Process I
Today I will be talking about the research I did on quick change methodology. This is a very
fascinating and important topic for the machining process in all plants across the world. The topics
that will be covered in this paper are as follows defining quick change methodology and tooling for
machining with an overview history and recent advancements, SMED overview history and recent
advancements, then a compare and contrast of quick change methodology and SMED, and to wrap up
the paper I will illustrate how I can use this information to improve a manufacturing process I am
familiar with. These were great research topics and I learned a ton of great valuable information that
would be very useful in future endeavors.
First I will talk about defining quick change methodology and tooling for machining with an overview
history and recent advancements. It is a modular system that allows tools to be changed rapidly on a
machine during the initial part setup and the tool change after a tool is worn out. The system radically
decreases machine downtime for tool change for the duration of setup changes. It is also for changing
worn out inserts during machining. Normally a tool is fastened by putting it into a slot in the turret and
tightening screws to hold it resolutely. With doing this older process of fastening the tool, extreme
care must be taken to seat the holder correctly against existing

Personal Statement For The Greek Debt Crisis
Debt is a problem that everyone fears. When a person owes money to someone else, you are in fear,
worry and pain. The biggest debt crisis I witnessed was the Greek debt crisis. It started back in 2009
and continues now. The problem is rooted back to when the Greek government borrowed money from
external sources on a regular basis to pay for unproductive government projects and luxurious social
welfare schemes for its people and came to a point where the Greek government could not pay back
their loans and all their expenditures after the global financial crisis in 2008. When I first read about
the crisis, I became interested. I researched and slowly understood the basics of economics and
finance and how captivating it was. At that time, I had a mindset that my career path would be geared
towards finance. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

sent to sent to Barcelona, Spain. This was the first time NBA players were allowed to compete in the
Olympics. This would soon prove to be a major disadvantage to all other countries, as the United
States demolished every team that was set before them. McCallum describes this monstrous team and
says, the closest any opponent came was a fine Croatia team, which lost by 32 points in the gold
medal final. A description of the games is of course provided in the book, but McCallum did not
simply want to do an account of the games and how dominant the team is. He took a look at each of

The first of these, is the scrimmage that took place on July 22, 1992. The official games had not yet
started, but exhibition games had taken place. Before this, the team had of course conducted
scrimmages. Usefully Daily (the head coach) would divvy up teams by conference (McCallum 212),
but today was different. With John Stockton and Clyde Drexler side lined with injuries, this
scrimmage would be unique. The blue team consisted of Mullin, Johnson, Laettner, Barkley and
Robinson while the White team consisted of Pippen, Jordan, Bird, Malone and Ewing. The unspoken
leaders were Magic Johnson and Michael Jordan. Both were dominant players that had large egos. In
1989 the NBA even considered televising a One on One game between these two. It never came to
fruition, but in the back of their minds, this game was a way to prove who truly was the better player.
The game began with a blue team lead, in fact they racked up 7 points before white even got on the
board. As the game got deeper and deeper, so did the opponents mouths. Magic was known for
complaining about fouls and with a scrimmage like this, the ref was not safe of Johnson s complaints.
McCallum says, he would win foul battles every time while pointedly play through his own fouls and
act like a petulant child when one was called on him. Along with the complaints came trash talk and it
was prevalent. It begins very mild with Johnson yelling, right back at you after matching a 3 pointer
Jordan had just made. Later when the score is blue 19 and white 20, Barkley forces a 1 and 1. Johnson
says to Jordan, We ain t in Chicago Stadium anymore referring to the notion that Jordan got special
treatment from the refs. After continued effort, sweat and mouthing off, Jordan led white to a 40 36
victory. Jordan describes it as, the most fun I have ever had on a basketball court.

Theme Of Loss Of Innocence In Frankenstein
As people gain new experiences different losses of innocence come along with that, this is shown in
Mary Shelley s Frankenstein. Throughout the book innocence plays a big role in the characterization
of Frankenstein, the monster and most of the other characters in the book. But, as tragedies in the book
occur they also symbolize losses of innocence in both the monster and Frankenstein. As these losses of
innocence occur the reader begins to realize that each of them also seems to symbolize another loss of
innocence but one that is just under the surface of literal meanings. One of the common double losses
of innocence is all of the deaths that occur in the book. While examining the characterization and the
deaths of Elizabeth and Justine, the reader comes to realize that all of those deaths symbolize the loss
of innocence. Through these deaths, it is shown that Frankenstein and the monster continued to lose
their innocence until it is nonexistent. All throughout Justine s imprisonment and death, Shelley plays
with the idea of innocence versus guilt. When William is killed Justine who is portrayed as an
innocent bystander is convicted of the crime. When she is arrested everyone is confused because no
one believes that she could have done this. This is because everyone sees her as cute and innocent.
Who is safe , if she is to be convicted of crime? I rely on her innocence as certainly as i do upon my
own (81). Even most of the characters believe that she is innocent but,

By understanding their causes and characteristics, managers can make sensihle decisions about when
and how to fight a price war, when to flee one and even when to start one. The first step, then, is
diagnosis. Consider a small commodities supplier that suddenly found that its largest competitor had
slashed prices to a level well below the small company s costs. One option the smaller company
considered was to lower its price in a tit for tat move. But that price would have heen below the
suppher s marginal cost; it would have suffered debilitating losses. Fortunately, a few phone calls
revealed that its adversary was attempting to drive the supplier out of the local market by underpricing
its products locally but maintaining high prices elsewhere. The supplier correctly diagnosed the
pricing move as predatory and elected to do two things. First, the manager called customers in the
competitor s home market to let them know that the price cutter was offering special deals in another
market. Second, he called local customers

The Importance Of Choosing A University Or College
It is important to choose a university or college as early as possible because you will have a idea
where you want to go to be prepared after high school. It is important to know what you want to do
and what you want to do after high school as early to save the stress and have a mind set on what to
do. The steps to choosing a university or college is fairly simple you just have to consider your
options. There are 10 best steps to take but I have chosen the best 4 steps. One of the steps that I
thought was one of the best was according to Katy Hopskins Rank your priorities: List of Pros and
Con , you must consider the pros and cons of the university/college and decide your priorities. The
following step is Compare Financial Aid Packages which is to look at the different packages to make
it much more affordable and have to owe less after college and won t be stuck in debt. The third step is
Delve Into The Department and that is to look at what the college is great at and if that school excels
in what you re majoring or what you want to do if possible. The final step is Don t Procrastinate and
this step is self explanatory but this step is to dont procrastinate and dont wait until the last second to
do everything. Decide what you want to do because you won t be able to think as clear as if you had
thought about it a year ago and given you time to think about your options so its important to give
yourself time to think and do things.

My Memories
One of my earliest memories, as a young child growing up in the 1960s and 1970s, was the visits to
my Nan s home in south Ealing, west London.
My family had moved from London to live in the seaside town of Weston super Mare in the mid
1960s. We had travelled to Weston by steam train but on returning to London for a visit, by the end of
the 1960s, the coal eating steam trains were out and the odorous smell of diesel trains were in.
The same steam engine carriages were still in use and were made up of individual compartments; my
family of nine took up an entire compartment.
Nan s food larder was always well stocked for our visits; filled with goodies like Spam, corned beef,
Piccalilli etc. At Nan s house, unlike at home, I got the opportunity of sampling such delicacies like
Spamish omelette and Spam fritters. Sounds exotic? Yes, to me they were. I love Piccalilli; it s the
kind of stuff that never entered my home back in the 1960s, too weird, too foreign. Whenever I see
Piccalilli it always reminds me of Nan.
My large family would have been pretty boisterous and quite a handful for a woman, who normally
lived on her own, to put up with; an invasion of bodies filling every room of her Victorian terraced
house.
I loved my Nan s cooking; it was tasty and wholesome, definitely much more delicious than the
offerings at home. Besides the great British favourites, like Spam and corned beef, I think the food I
experienced in London was exotic because it was diverse and

A Research Project On Project Management
Project Management project methodology is an entirely characterized blend of consistently related
practices, strategies and procedures that decide how best to arrange, create, control and convey an
undertaking all through the constant execution process until effective consummation and end. It is a
scientifically proven, methodical and restrained way to deal with project design, execution and
fulfillment. Agile methodology is for a task that needs great deftness in necessities. The key
components of Agile are its short termed conveyance cycles (sprints), Agile necessities, dynamic
group society, less prohibitive task control and concentrate on real time communication. Iterative
methodology is a method for separating the product improvement of a substantial application into
little chunks. In iterative improvement, feature code is composed, created and tested in many different
cycles. With every cycle, extra components can be planned, created and tested until there is a
completely practical programming application prepared to be sent to clients. Waterfall methodology is
the one that is the most utilized over all businesses, and it is exceptionally basic in programming
advancement and development. There are numerous variants of the waterfall technique, yet the
original one included these high level stages: Requirements specification, Design, Construction (AKA

Grendel s Influence On The Role Of Christianity In Beowulf
In addition to the pagan beliefs, there are many Christian attributes that appear in the characters and
the plot. Beowulf, the main protagonist, is directly affected by the Christian God. God helps Beowulf
to have his physical appearance and he also helps him stay alive in the midst of danger. First and
foremost, let the Almighty Father be thanked for this sight...But now a man, with the Lord s
assistance, has accomplished something... (line 927 955). After Beowulf defeats Grendel, Hrothgar
proclaims that God, the Almighty Father, brought Beowulf back to them. The Christian God and not
the pagan gods were the reason that Beowulf was allowed to live. This inclusion of the one God

Grendel is the main antagonist in Beowulf, and he is described as Cain s descendent, ...he had dwelt
for a time in misery among the banished monsters, Cain s clan... (line 104 106). This allusion to the
biblical story of Cain and Abel brings a reference point to Grendel s evil. The evil of Grendel is
comparable to killing one s brother, like Cain did (Genesis 4 NIV). Another example of Christianity is
the use of the Christ figure archetype. Beowulf has many attributes of a Christ figure, for example, he
is self sacrificial and also has twelve disciples, ...and was now added as the thirteenth to their number
(line 2407). Christ figures are described as having those two attributes and Beowulf is heavily
influenced by his sacrificial attribute where he places his own life above his people (Foster 119 120).
Christ figures are a huge part of Christianity because Christian leaders are believed to be Christ
figures and Beowulf is described as one. Overall, the Christian attributes in Beowulf, help to make the
story more civilized and tame than the original pagan

Our slogan reflects our difference because while most establishments offer healthy choices on their
menu, our entire menu is researched to be a healthy choice. There are three ways a customer can
purchase food. They may sit down at one of the 68 seats in the dining room and get full service from a
waitperson. A separate take out counter services those who wish to pick up their food. Most take out
food is prepared to order with orders coming from the telephone. Delivery (an indirect form of take
out) is available at certain times and to a limited area.
INDUSTRY ANALYSIS
Market Trends amp; the Future
The population and demographics of Nea Smirni have increased in the last years. Local businesses are
increasing at a rate of 6% yearly.
The idea of a health consciousness through nutritional awareness and dietary change has been slowly
building for the last years. The extensive studies and new Food Guide Pyramid have given everyone a
new definition of a balanced, healthy diet. This is not a fad but a true dietary trend backed by the
scientific and medical community, the media, the government, and endorsed by the big food
manufacturers.
As people want to stay home more and cook less our strategy of delivering prepared quality meals on
a weekly or monthly arrangement may be a widespread accepted new way of eating.
The restaurant industry is highly competitive as there is a large

The Grizzly Bear Lodge Mini Case Owning and operating a lodge can be a lot of work, but rewarding
at the same time. Customers come to a lodge to relax and get away from their daily routine. When
staying the night away from home, it is important to the customer that the staff at the lodge makes
their stay as comfortable as possible. In this case The Grizzly Bear Lodge will be examined. It will
look at the service they provide in addition to their expansion opportunities. The Grizzly Bear Lodge
is family owned. According to the textbook, Management: Leading and Collaborating in a
Competitive World, Diane and Rudy Conrad operate The Grizzly Bear Lodge which accommodates

Everyone who works for them will know the rules to follow. They will understand that customers are
their top priority. Concurrent control will also help ensure customer satisfaction. Concurrent control
takes place as the plans are being carried out (Snell 572). Diane and Rudy will be able to supervise
their staff so that they can make sure they are working to the best of their ability. This will allow them
to see firsthand how they are treating their customers. Concurrent control focuses on avoiding
mistakes and seeing that the customers are adhered to in a timely manner. The last bureaucratic control
method that the textbook discusses is feedback control. Feedback control is when the customers
provide information about their experience to the company. The Grizzly Bear Lodge would benefit
from using feedback because it would come directly from their customers. Based on what the
feedback states, the lodge could make necessary adjustments. Feedback does not always have to be
negative either. Customers could leave positive feedback so that they know what they should keep
doing to keep customers satisfied. Budgeting is a big part of expansion. In order to expand, the current
business should be successful. In the case of The Grizzly Bear Lodge, they are. In addition to success,
however, the Conrad s must have enough funding for the expansion. The Conrad s must look at the
bottom line for their lodge. The bottom line focuses on the six sigma

The planet Earth is a pretty big place with 7,330, 245,300 billion plus (1) people on the plant
according to the worlds populations on www.census.gov.; and with that many people on the plant its
strange to think that anyone could ever feel alone. How could you possible feel that alone knowing
there are billions of people living on the planet? Well as sad as it is there are people out there, in our
very own town that can feel this way every single day. These people are our elders, our parents and
grandparents, our own flesh and blood and all they want is to simple know you remember they are still
here. These are the people who raised you and where there for you after all everyone deserves to feel

It gets lonely being on the inside without anyone to talk to and make the day go from gray to a light or

they know. Write a letter simple telling them about the kind of day you had; send a card for no reason
but to just send one. It means more then you ll ever know. I understand that taking care of a grown

Demand and Supply
Demand and supply The term demand refers to the quantity of a given product that consumers will be
willing and able to buy at a given price. As a general common sense rule the higher the price of a
particular product the lower will be the demand for it . The term supply refers to the quantity of a
particular product that suppliers (producers and/or sellers) will make available to the market at a
particular price. The higher the price, the greater the quantity that suppliers will be willing to supply to
the market. Markets consist of individual or groups of businesses that are prepared to supply a
product, and customers who demand the product. Market price is determined by the interaction of the
forces of demand and supply. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the modern high tech world there are also important factors that influence supply. Nowhere is this
truer than in the development of new production technologies leading to the production of high
volume low cost goods. For example, in recent years Coca Cola has developed high tech canning
factories that use less costly and cheaper materials in the production of cans. Wants a want is simply a
desire for a product; it is not the same thing as demand. Effective demand refers to a desire for a
product that is backed up by a purchasing decision. For demand to be effective the consumer needs to
have the money required to make the purchase. Elasticity of demand refers to the sensitivity of
demand to a change in price. The more sensitive demand is (i.e. the more it changes) to a price change
the more elastic it is said to be. Actions Whats this? Using the buttons below you can download this

Pros And Cons Of Partisan Emiliation
There is evidence in support of the idea that the parties have increasingly distinguished themselves
even on longstanding issues since the early 1970s, with an especially noticeable boost during the
Reagan years (Stoker Jennings, 2008, p. 629). Further support demonstrate that individuals do, indeed,
develop greater consistency between their partisan affiliation and their issue commitment as they age,
with the greatest gains usually coming in early adulthood (Stoker Jennings, 2008, p. 629). If this is
true, the Millenialls partisan affiliation is developing now. Over the past 30 to 40 years, growing
partisan polarization...has been driven by generational replacement as new entrants evinced greater
party issue constraint than did

Dangerous Liaisons By Claudia Moscovici
Nakia was in a relationship with a psychopath. A person with a psychopathic personality lacks the
ability to love or establish meaningful relationships. A psychopath is a predator who pretends to love
you in order to lure you into his deadly game of power, control, and manipulation. The man who
Nakia thought was her knight in shining armor turned out to be a nightmare. Throughout their
relationship, he emotionally abused her, held a gun to her head, criticized her weight, made false
accusations, cheated, called her names, and physically assaulted her during pregnancy. A psychopath
seeks to destroy your self worth and self esteem through cruel and methodical mind manipulation. In
her book, Dangerous Liaisons: How to Recognize and Escape from Psychopathic Seduction, Claudia
Moscovici writes about psychopaths and how they seduce women. She reveals the process of
psychopathic seduction: Idealize, Devalue, and Discard. Let s examine Nakia s abusive relationship
using the Idealize, Devalue, and Discard phases, so we can observe how a psychopath operates. 1.
Idealization Phase During the Idealization Phase the predator lures you in with the promise of love He
s a charmer, seducing you with sweet whispers so you can t see him for who he really is: a cold
blooded slithering snake waiting to sink his fangs into your self esteem and feed off your soul Nakia
says during the honeymoon phase of their relationship, her abuser was charming, chivalrous, and
romantic. He showered her

The Duchess Figurative Language
Through the use of figurative language, imagery, and symbolism Robert Browning is able to portray
his poem about the Duke in the light he wants. The several literary devices used in figurative language
aid in he conversational flow, while the imagery gives you the sense of what emotion is going at the
time, and symbolism showing the underlying use for the subjects mentioned throughout the poem. The
several literary devices most predominantly used in the poem are assonance and alliteration. For
example, the depth and passion of its earnest glance... is an example of assonance used in the poem as
well as And seemed as they would ask me, if they durst. The reason Browning uses this technique so
much is because of his format, he has his poem ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To make a clearer depiction of the character of the Duke and his opinion and treatment of his late wife,
Browning effectively made use of Renaissance images. The most apparent symbol used is the portrait
of the late Duchess, painted on the wall by artist Frà Pandolf. The poem only tells the reader that the
painting captures the Duchess bright personality and her love for life a depiction that has distressed
the Duke when her wife was still alive. But the painting itself and how it came to be tells us more
about the Duke s personality. The painting portrayed and captured the duchess in a nice light,
however, the duke chooses who can see it as he stated, none puts by the curtain I have drawn for you,
but I... clearly the duke only wants to show a select few of people how he wants his last duchess to be
remembered. Also, he also mentions a bronze statue of Neptune towards the end of the poem where he
speaks of himself like the god of the sea and as you read further on the reader will notice the duke
likes to present himself as someone in power. The duke turned things into valuable pieces in order to
show he is dominant and powerful, just like how he personified the painting of his late wife and how
he described the bronze

What are Some Possible Solutions to This Problem?
Bay Shore High School Nora Sacco International Relations and United Nations
Mr. Niedźwiecki May 30 2017
Every day, the international community is confronted by plethora of problems. Although these

Living conditions and sanitation and refugee camps are the main problems that almost every refugee
camp has to go through. There are so many refugees and so little supplies, workers, and living space
so it makes it very hard for camps to try to have enough supplies and keep their camps clean. A
refugee camp is a temporary home to help people to get back on their feet, but these camps are having
so many problems that they are making it harder for refugees to get back on their feet. The camp s
main problem is lack of sanitation, people are coming to these camps and getting sick because the
camps are so dirty. The next main issue is a lack of supplies, people are coming to these camps in need
of water, food, and living space and some of these camps can not even provide these new campers
with the supplies because they already have so many people that they have to provide for. The current
situation is unacceptable, as the Syrian war, lack of supplies and the western world s indifference to
blight of the refugees has caused many refugee camps to become uncleanly and over populated. The
current situation in many camps and other people have come up with many techniques to cope with
the struggles. The camps have come up with my techniques to solve the problem that are not enough
supplies, food, sanitation, and not enough room in the camp for each refugee. The camps in this day
and age still has many issues that they had back then, but the problems are less

  • 4. Immigration Policy Historically Has Been Influenced By Our... Immigration policy historically has been influenced by our country s fear to uphold traditional American culture often rooted in a sense of anti immigration and xenophobia. We perpetuate this by allowing the criminalization of communities of color, mainly with the large Latino population in the U.S. A large portion of the immigrants who arrive in the country are fleeing dangerous homelands pitted with economic and political turmoil. Their situation is worsened by our country s broken immigration system where families are separated, immigrants are exploited as work labor, discrimination is rampant, and the pathways to citizenship are convoluted at best. We as a country need to uphold our values of freedom and equality when immigrants come to our country and reform our immigration system to be more reflective of this. In light of the recent occurrences with ISIS related terrorism committed by foreigners such as the San Bernardino shooting or the Orlando night club shooting, there has been some resistance from the country in regards to immigration. Additionally the age old worry of job security also heightens our sensitivity towards immigrants with jobs, as they compete for them. Despite this, Clinton s Immigration policy seeks to transform the U.S. into a version of our former selves with family at the heart of her immigration policies. In regards to this, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has a long history of promoting immigration changes through comprehensive ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Ellen Narrative Ellen and I were growing up and along with getting older, came more responsibility and even some independence. By now, our mother trusted us to walk to town unaccompanied to pick up a few groceries, happy to do so, we carried our willow shopping basket, money in one hand and a grocery list in the other, with a note to give to the store clerk who would gather the required items for us. We felt so grown up as we walked to the Abtsweg together, not in a group as we did when we walked to school with our friends, but just the two of us; my sister and I, wearing matching brown coats and perfectly starched bows in our hair. When we returned home and proudly handed Mom the basket filled with all the correct items, she praised us endlessly and when Ted s parents phoned, boasted about our accomplishment. They too, were pleased and realized that Ellen and I were growing up. One afternoon, during an unexpected visit from Opa Taco and Oma Tine, our presence downstairs was requested when they rang the doorbell upon their arrival. Wondering what was going on, Ellen and I hurried to the street level to find our grandparents standing in the common entryway, holding the front door to the outside ... I was mesmerized by the bright pink and white walls. The signature PINK dogs scattered all over the PINK side of the store. The cosmetics section was sparkling in the distance and the signature fragrances filled the air. I remember the feeling of finally being grown up, here I was shopping for fragrances and bras in the same store that my Mom and Aunt bought theirs at. When you are fifteen there is nothing else in the world that matters more than feeling grown up, you are no longer a kid and there is a whole new world for you to explore. Talking to women, most have the same first experience at the store, in fact it is nearly the closest thing to magic some young girls will experience in this era of their lives. This unfortunately, is not going to be about that coming of age experience this paper is a whole lot deeper than any fifteen year old girl buying her first grown up bra could ever imagine. Known best for their tasty greek food, the company s primary problem is inventory management; trying to determine the order quantities and the method of lot sizing and when to order so the company doesn t waste items with short life such as the dairy products that uses like yogurt and milk. In the past the store has had been throwing away large quantities of dairy products due to lack of forecasting the demand for dairy products as well as weak inventory planning methods from unqualified employees. As a result, Good Greek Grill (G3) asked our group to help them solve the problem since after getting a SOM class we are able to determine methods towards solutions of Operational Management problems. The solution can be found by getting to know what is the current reorder point and order quantity by using the EOQ (Economic Order Quantity) inventory model . Employment generation through construction of rural roads, and ground water and minor irrigation to support food security received much higher priority compared to need to enhance logistics to support industrial growth and improving overall economic efficiency. In five year plans a major goal was to connect all villages (with population of more than 1,500 inhabitants) with rural road network; however, this was done through minimum needs program supporting employment creation and leading to waste and inefficiency. Most of the roads thus created did not meet quality standards because fiscal space was not adequate to accommodate both the demand for resources for rural roads and also the national highway network which was getting congested. Even in the case of power sector, village electrification was a priority so as to provide power for the farms, but not necessarily to households. Emphasis on connectivity, without improvements in overall economic efficiency meant unsustainable financial burden on the government budgets. In the time of slower economic growth or external shocks such as wars and high oil prices, infrastructure investments were major casualty. China with its high economic growth rates and higher savings rates was able to allocate much larger resources for investments in general. On the whole, Larkin presents the concepts of love and marriage as very superficial and meaningless, whereas Abse appears to be less such nihilistic and more open and positive about such topics. The essay will discuss this contrast by examing Larkin s Whitsun Weddings , Wild Oats and Arundel Tomb , and Dannie Abse s Imitations and Sons . However unlike in Whitsun Weddings is less pessimistic, saying that although he will die like his son his family name will be passed down the generations and expresses some affection for his offspring, whereas Larkin has no such optimism, he focuses on the fact that he has no son and probably never will, much like in Larkin s Dockery and Son where he contemplates his lack of contribution to his species existence of how his life when he dies will cease to have meaning. The poem An Arundel Tomb written by Phillip Larkin illustrates the relationship between two forms found on a tomb. This poem shows the lies love can tell, and the falseness of how their relationship is portrayed. The fact that their hands are clasped in one another s grip is seen to be symbolic of their undying and everlasting love for each other. In 1978 the Democratic Republic of Afghanistan was a poor, agrarian and socialist government. In early 1979 middle east unrest reached a culminating point and a key U.S. ally, the Shah of Iran, was ousted by the Islamic Revolution and the U.S. Ambassador to Afghanistan was kidnapped and subsequently killed in a raid carried out by Afghan police and Soviet advisors, this led to a breakdown in U.S. Afghan relations. With radical Soviet influenced changes to the current Islamic culture encompassing land ownership, marital law, education and social rights by the new Afghan regime tens of thousands of people in traditional Islamic society fled Afghanistan or were imprisoned and executed by the government. This began an Afghan civil war and the rise of the Mujahedeen in 1979. The United States took this as an opportunity to coerce the Soviet Union into war by covertly arming the Mujahedeen in order to fight the communist backed government. In fact, there are many modernities, not only one single patter of modernization. These developments forced sociologists for a paradigm shift in the dominant one side understanding of western modernity. In this context, Islam and the discourse of western Muslim intellectuals have gradually gained visibility and significance through the continuing migration and the growth of new generations in the western societies. Western Islam also has emerged in the hearth of modernity; yet did not follow the same patters of classical modernization trends. However, it could not escape the hegemonic influence of modernity. As a result, western Islam is emerging not only as a response to the challenges (premises) of modernity, but also through a transformative dialectical engagement with the ethos of modernity, which gradually pave the path towards the rise of Islamic modernism (Islamic modernity) in the west. The article was typed using Microsoft Word, and was then annotated in order to highlight key pieces of information and to provide the reader with relevant historical and philosophical details. The entry follows: While treating a common man with gangrene this morning, I realized that the best course of action was to perform an amputation. His leg had become gangrenous and if left untreated, the man would surely succumb to his ailment. Rather than to call for a barber surgeon, I decided that it would be best to perform the procedure myself; those surgeons were prone to mistakes and the anatomy I had learned while in Padua earlier would make the surgery much safer. I was confronted by Johnathan Watts, another physician in the court, during the procedure. He claimed to have been searching for me and to my poor fortune, had seen me in the process of amputating the man s leg. He seemed genuinely offended by what was transpiring, but I had told him to hold his tongue and to allow me to finish; I had already finished cutting the flesh to the bone and had commenced cutting through the bone. In iterative improvement, feature code is composed, created and tested in many different cycles. With every cycle, extra components can be planned, created and tested until there is a completely practical programming application prepared to be sent to clients. Waterfall methodology is the one that is the most utilized over all businesses, and it is exceptionally basic in programming advancement and development. • 41. Magic Mike XXL Magic Mike XXL, the sequel to the film Magic Mike that was released back in 2012, is hilariously entertaining and the eye candy isn t bad either. Channing Tatum is back and hotter than ever in his return to the stage for a stripper reunion in Myrtle Beach, SC. And while, I am never a big fan of sequels I have to say that at least this one, simply creates its own story with very few references to the first movie, which is nice, especially for those who never saw Magic Mike the original. It seems, at least to me, that this movie works hard to break some of the stereotypical thoughts about strippers, moreover, it makes you realize that these are not just a bunch of hot bodied individuals but actual men in pursuit of real life. • 42. Grendel s Influence On The Role Of Christianity In Beowulf In addition to the pagan beliefs, there are many Christian attributes that appear in the characters and the plot. Beowulf, the main protagonist, is directly affected by the Christian God. God helps Beowulf to have his physical appearance and he also helps him stay alive in the midst of danger. First and foremost, let the Almighty Father be thanked for this sight...But now a man, with the Lord s assistance, has accomplished something... (line 927 955). After Beowulf defeats Grendel, Hrothgar proclaims that God, the Almighty Father, brought Beowulf back to them. The Christian God and not the pagan gods were the reason that Beowulf was allowed to live. This inclusion of the one God removed fate from the story because God controls everyone, including Beowulf s, life. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Grendel is the main antagonist in Beowulf, and he is described as Cain s descendent, ...he had dwelt for a time in misery among the banished monsters, Cain s clan... (line 104 106). This allusion to the biblical story of Cain and Abel brings a reference point to Grendel s evil. The evil of Grendel is comparable to killing one s brother, like Cain did (Genesis 4 NIV). Another example of Christianity is the use of the Christ figure archetype. Beowulf has many attributes of a Christ figure, for example, he is self sacrificial and also has twelve disciples, ...and was now added as the thirteenth to their number (line 2407). Christ figures are described as having those two attributes and Beowulf is heavily influenced by his sacrificial attribute where he places his own life above his people (Foster 119 120). Christ figures are a huge part of Christianity because Christian leaders are believed to be Christ figures and Beowulf is described as one. Overall, the Christian attributes in Beowulf, help to make the story more civilized and tame than the original pagan ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 48. Demand and Supply Demand and supply The term demand refers to the quantity of a given product that consumers will be willing and able to buy at a given price. As a general common sense rule the higher the price of a particular product the lower will be the demand for it . The term supply refers to the quantity of a particular product that suppliers (producers and/or sellers) will make available to the market at a particular price. The higher the price, the greater the quantity that suppliers will be willing to supply to the market. Markets consist of individual or groups of businesses that are prepared to supply a product, and customers who demand the product. Market price is determined by the interaction of the forces of demand and supply. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the modern high tech world there are also important factors that influence supply. Nowhere is this truer than in the development of new production technologies leading to the production of high volume low cost goods. For example, in recent years Coca Cola has developed high tech canning factories that use less costly and cheaper materials in the production of cans. Wants a want is simply a desire for a product; it is not the same thing as demand. Effective demand refers to a desire for a product that is backed up by a purchasing decision. For demand to be effective the consumer needs to have the money required to make the purchase. Elasticity of demand refers to the sensitivity of demand to a change in price. The more sensitive demand is (i.e. the more it changes) to a price change the more elastic it is said to be. Actions Whats this? A person with a psychopathic personality lacks the ability to love or establish meaningful relationships. A psychopath is a predator who pretends to love you in order to lure you into his deadly game of power, control, and manipulation. The man who Nakia thought was her knight in shining armor turned out to be a nightmare. To make a clearer depiction of the character of the Duke and his opinion and treatment of his late wife, Browning effectively made use of Renaissance images. The most apparent symbol used is the portrait of the late Duchess, painted on the wall by artist Frà Pandolf. The poem only tells the reader that the painting captures the Duchess bright personality and her love for life a depiction that has distressed the Duke when her wife was still alive.
