Similarities And Differences Between Dancing With Wolves...
For this paper I will be comparing Avatar (2009) and Dancing with Wolves (1990) which are two
very acclaimed movies that in a sense are very similar to each other but at the same time do not
share the same themes or story line. Avatar, which is Fantasy/Science fiction movie directed by
James Cameron released on December 18, 2009 being the world s highest grossing film of all
time and is one of the most prosperous movies of the last few years. It has been nominated for
nine Academy Awards and has won three of them. Dancing with Wolves that in the other hand is
an Epic Western/Drama movie released on November 21, 1990 and directed by Kevin Costner.
The first thing that could be very noticeable between these movies is how far apart each movie
was released away from each other, almost a 20 year difference between the releases date. I
believe that these two movies have a lot of common and resemble each other in many ways that
could even imagine. In both movies the protagonists are very similar to each other. But also, some
of the themes and aspects that these movies share are: main characters falling in love, protagonist
being introduced to a new civilization and how both protagonists are leading a battle against a
different tribe.
Avatar is a live action film about a human colony that has been established on a distant planet called
Pandora. The humans are going after an uncommon mineral that could settle an ecological crisis
that is affecting planet Earth. However, their plans

that homeowners care about.
There is no perfect flooring type. Decide which features are most important to you, and then choose
the type of flooring that delivers those features. When choosing among different flooring options,

Some floor covering are simply just better suited than others in certain rooms. For example you
would never carpet a kitchen or bathroom but tile or linoleum can be a great choice. Hardwood
or tile can be a superior choice for entranceways and high traffic areas both for their beauty and
durability. Bedrooms and living rooms are carpeted because of the comfort that they provide.
Walking into a carpeted room gives you a comfortable, cozy, and welcomed feeling.
What type of flooring do you want, with so many choices how do you decide? Should you buy
carpet, hardwood, or tile?
Carpet is a textile consisting of an upper layer of pile attached to a backing. The pile is generally
made from wool or a man made fibre such as polypropylene, nylon or polyester. Nylon is the most
common material used for construction of carpets.
What are the benefits of carpeted floors?

Describe The Importance Of Electrolytes
Electrolytes are very important to have in the human body. It is very unhealthy to have an
imbalance of electrolytes. Electrolyte imbalance may lead to disease or even death. ( Nate Morrow )
Salt is a very important electrolyte. Humans need salt to survive on the planet of Earth. Salt can
also be called sodium. Low sodium levels are very dangerous. People with diseases are at higher
risk of a low sodium level.Another important electrolyte is magnesium. Magnesium is important for
300 biochemical reactions! Also an important electrolyte is phosphate. Phosphate strengthens bones
and teeth. Bicarbonate is also one of the major electrolytes. Kidneys release bicarbonate when acids
build up through metabolic processes. Also, potassium is a key electrolyte. Potassium is important
for regulating your heartbeat and muscle function. ( U.S National Library of Medicine ) It is also
important to keep your electrolytes balanced. Electrolyte loss is very dangerous. Water does not
replenish the electrolytes lost in sweat. Most sports drinks claim to replenish electrolytes lost in
sweat. Although, not all beverages are made to hydrate, so be aware on which sports drink you
choose next. Hydration is also crucial to live a healthy life. Dehydration can cause electrolyte
imbalance. Electrolyte imbalance symptoms include twitching, weakness, and seizures. ( Healthline

It is also important to have a healthy amount of salt in your body. Salt imbalances can lead to heart
disease. Eat healthy to

Physical And Psychological And Sexual Abuse
Abuse is so common in today s day and age; it s used like a language. Some people are immune

Physical, Psychological and Sexual abuse has been presented in multiple settings as harmful and

questions based on if they meant for what happened to them, as a direct action to inflict pain
towards themselves. As is true, multiple cases of the described forms of abuse are reported

Introduction Of A Foreign Species
Biodiversity Introduction
For once in history, the introduction of a foreign species has had paramount importance throughout
their evolution for many terrestrial ecosystems. Apis Mellifera also commonly known as the
Western Honey bee, is a vital component to global biodiversity. The honey bee provides
ecosystem services of considerable ecological significance for the reproduction of plants and for
the pollination of many economically important crops. Although the place of origin of Apis
Mellifera is unclear, North America was introduced to the Western Honey beearound 1622 by
European colonists (Weber, E. 2012). Amongst the eight species in the genus Apis, Apis Mellifera
is the most widely valued honey bee in the United States(citation). Apis Mellifera live in nests,
called a hive, and typically house 40,00 bees, which are divided into three different types of adult
bees: Queen, Worker, Drone(Winston, M. L., 1987). Majority of the bees living in the beehive are
Worker bees that provide majority of the fundamental processes needed to sustain the beehive.
Honey bees consume processed nectar (honey) and pollen (bee bread) which are both found in
Angiosperms (flowering plants). Nectar, which bees convert to honey serves as a primary source
of carbohydrates (Winston, M. L., 1987). This provides honey bees energy for flight and product
for colony maintenance. Honey bees will die within a few days if they do not have a surplus
abundance of honey (Winston, M. L., 1987). Pollen is

The House Of The Spirits By Isabel Allende
Isabel Allende was born on August 2, 1942 in Lima, Peru. Her father, TomГ
Ўs Allende, was first
cousin of Salvador Allende, President of Chile from 1970 to 1973. She is a Chilean American
writer whose works contain mostly magic realism, which incorporates fantastic or mythical
elements into otherwise realistic fiction. Allende has been called the world s most widely read
Spanish language author . She uses experiences from her Chilean childhood and the political
situation in Chile to write her most famous book, The House of the Spirits.
Isabel Allende had many family difficulties that altogether resulted in her being one of the most
successful female writers in history. Allende was born to TomГЎs and Francisca who divorced
when Isabel was three. (McCann). As a result of the divorce, Francisca and Isabel moved to
Santiago to her grandparents house where she spent her childhood. Her grandmother s interest in
fortune telling and astrology (the study of the influence of the stars on human behavior), as well as
the stories she told, made a lasting impression on Allende. (McCann). This impression influenced
Isabel to start reading and writing. Following the months after her uncle Salvador Allende s
assassination, Isabel realized it was getting exceedingly dangerous for her family to live in Chile.
Therefore, Isabel fled to Venezuela along with her husband and kids in 1973. (McCann) After
moving to Venezuela she started writing her first book, The House of the Spirits.

Fresh Organic Food Market Essay
Relating to Porters five forces, the two forces which relate predominantly to Kiwi Fresh Organic
Food Market are the threat of new entrants and the threat of substitute products/services. Threat
of New Entrants New entrants into an industry bring with them the capacity and a desire to
successfully achieve market sufficient market share, placing pressure on factors such as prices,
costs and the rates of investment required to compete effectively. (Porter, 2008) It is becoming
increasingly common within the Organic foodstuff sector for large companies with existing
capabilities and large cash flows to enter the market. Threat of Substitute Products or Services
Whilst Kiwi Fresh Organic Food Market are essentially competing with Organic foodstuff

`` The Circle `` By Dave Eggers
Transparency is key in The Circle. Without it, no one can even attempt to know everything. To be
transparent, one must allow others to see everything, to know everything. The Circle makes sure its
employees know this to be fact, and it ensures that it is implemented. The Circle puts up a front that
transparency equates to freedom, when in reality it is the opposite. The programs endorsed by the
Circleare incredibly restricting and promote total openness, going so far as to say that secrets are
lies and privacy is theft (Eggers 305). Dave Eggerss The Circle shows that complete transparency
in all aspects of life is dangerous because with it people lose basic human rights such as privacy
and freedom to be themselves.

Luke and Matthew are believed to be written during the same time without the knowledge of

In the movie A Civil Action we see many different concepts, terminology, and an over all realistic
view into the litigation process. This movie shows us what really life lawyers have to deal with
while their case is going though the legal system. A Civil Action gives the view great insight on
how the litigants and judges play a roll in this complex legal system we have that is not just black

Here we get a glimpse of what it is like to be a personal injury lawyer taking on a civil trail case

is because they have deep pockets and can afford to continue in a trail. However, Schilichtmann

the end of their fight. Schilichtmann later went on and had the case sent to the EPA where they

In The Waiting Room
As we age, the adventure of growing up can be unpredictable and even difficult to grasp. As a
child the journey is frightening and never seems to get simpler throughout our lives. The
problems we face are different for everybody. And after life thought us its lessons, we oftentimes
have to remind ourselves of the origin of the lessons to reinstate its principles. This is also the case
in Elizabeth Bishop s poem in the waiting room . In this poem the speaker, Elizabeth, has trouble
accepting who she is, when she not only realizes she is part of a larger, more complex, society but
also that she is a woman. With a good dose of reality, a bit of artistry, and a clear form, Bishop has

Through the form of the poem the speaker s mood and state of mind become evident, and the more
she questions her acceptance of self, the shorter and unclear the stanzas become. The poem is made
up of five stanzas, and in the first stanza, that consists of fifty three lines, the speaker sounds very
confident, she is able to name where she is and what she is doing, in the waiting room of the
dentist s office, where she is reading the National Geographic. In the following stanza, that
consists of twenty one lines, we see that the speaker is captivated by her thoughts and starts
questioning why she has to be like the women in the picture and her aunt. She no longer says that
she is in the waiting room, she only tells us that she sees shadowy gray knees,/trousers and skirts
and boots/and different pairs of hands/lying under the lamps . In the third stanza consisting of
fifteen lines, the speaker is wondering why she has to be like her aunt or any other woman for that
matter, and what the similarities between herself and other women are, she does not mention her
surroundings anymore. Then it seems the speaker completely lost touch with reality in the
penultimate stanza, of only four lines, where she says that The waiting room was bright/and too
hot. It was sliding/beneath a big black wave,/another, and another . This suggests that she might
have fainted. In the last stanza she brings us and herself back to reality, she is able to name where
she is and even what the date of that day was, this stanza consists of six lines where the speaker
appears to be more confident

Battelheim Meaning
In the introduction of Bruno Bettelheim s, The Uses of Enchantment, the struggle for meaning is
not just something that the young deal with but people in all stages of life. Bettelheim suggest that
our experiences in life can contribute to our development in understanding the meaning of life.
Bettelheim states that, The child, as he develops, must learn step by step to understand himself
better; with this he becomes more able to understand others, and eventually can relate to them in
ways which are mutually satisfying and meaningful. Bettelheim acknowledges that children s
literature should add significance, adee access to a deeper meaning, stimulate emotions, and enrich
a child s life. Bettelheim suggest that this kind of meaning can be found in fairy tales. Bettelheim
quotes the German poet Schiller who wrote: Deeper meaning resides in the fairy tales told to me in
my childhood than in the truth that is taught by life. Bettelheim believed that fairy tales can be
influential at an age.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

solutions in a way that a child can understand. In Bettelheim s views, Fairytales are unique, not
only as a form of literature, but as works of art which are fully comprehensible to the child, as no
other form of art is. As with all great art, the fairy tale s deepest meaning will be different for each
person, and different for the same person at various moments in his life. Bettelheim emphasizes that
fairy tales have important meanings but the personal meaning will be different ass it applies to a

that individuals with impairments are forced to maneuver around in order to participate in physical
activity and exercise. Our understanding of what was accessible was altered through this project,
and we have found a greater appreciation for facilities that endeavor to fulfill the accessibility needs
of their clients. It was interesting to note that many of the questions in the AIMFREE questionnaire
are subjective to the individuals conducting the assessment. The Jamie Platz YMCA did provide
many of the facilitators recommended; for example there is a new wheelchair accessible ergometer
machine in the fitness centre, and attempts to resolve any issues or requests their members may

Breakdancing is a much newer style that has been around for less than a century. It originated in
the 1970s in the Bronx, New York with the streets as a stage. Afrika Bambaataa was credited for
forming one of the earliest dance crews entitles the Zulu Kings (From Street to Dance). They
earned a reputation with their breakdancing circles, and then more people joined in, and from
there, the style started to evolve. More well known groups such as the Rock Steady Crew of
New York City helped in surging the popularity of breakdancing in low income communities and
urban areas. In pop culture, many interpretations such as youth alternative and violent gangs

Modern Day Approach To Negligence
The modern day approach to negligence has developed significantly across the twentieth and
twenty first century. The stance now taken upon an action for negligence is that it must be
established that a duty of care is owed by the defender to the pursuer in order for liability to arise.
This came about following the decision made by Lord Atkin in the case of Donoghue v Stevenson,
and has been further developed in a number of other common law examples. Prior to this
revolutionary judgement, there was a quantitative restriction as to where a duty of care would
arise, primarily only in relationships of a particular nature i.e. a doctor and their patient. Where a
wrongdoer carried out an act outside a recognised relationship, there was no general... Show more

The neighbour principle, introducing the foreseeability and proximity factors, has been critiqued
as it can be debated that the decision extended the scope far too much. The approach itself was a
way which would be able to unify the court and aid their decision, whilst also offering an element
of predictivity in relation to future cases. It is however worth noting that it can become too
predictable at times, as in many cases the neighbour principle will be somewhat perfectly fitting.
Is it just as simple as establishing that there is even just an ounce of proximity there and hence
creating that duty of care? There has been some degree of scepticism and so this brings us to Lord
Wilberforce as he attempted to re formulate the neighbour principle in the case of Anns v Merton

Disadvantages Of Vertical Jump Test
Project Write Up
Unlike most studies and tests that measure and examine jumping ability and leg muscle power, the
vertical jump test is extremely inexpensive to conduct. Although the vertical jump test is simple,
easy, and quick to perform, there are numerous disadvantages to the test as well. In the vertical jump
test, an individual is asked to attempt to touch the wall at the highest point of their jump. When the
individual jumps, their technique and form play a large role in maximizing their jump height. The
jump height can be affected by not only how much the individual bends their knees before they
jump, but also by how effectively the individual uses their arms.
Furthermore, the individual must use timing when attempting to touch the wall at the highest point
of their jump. It is a common argument that technique may play a bigger role in the vertical jump
test than leg power. In addition, individuals typically use chalk on their fingertips to record their
jump height, but the use of chalk is not accurate and can lead to errors in the recorded
measurements. All these factors can lead to varying results, so essentially this test can be
considered unreliable if you are not cautious with how you do it. Another factor that may
contribute to varying results is the actual height of the person. For example, if you a participant
who is over 6 feet, they have a greater advantage than someone who is 5 feet because they are
obviously taller and their arms will be longer. They are

the Yoruba are used to decorate and to affirm their social standing,, Their art is also deeply rooted

There are over 400 deities that are worshipped by the Yoruba, which are called Orisas. Certain
Gods are worshiped by every Yoruban, but there are specific Gods that are worshiped individually
by certain families or even towns. Every Yoruban makes regular offerings to the gods that they do

One particular God, Sango, resides in the sky. He is the God of Thunder and he is responsible for
producing the lightening bolts and thunder that comes to the earth. It is the belief of the Yoruba
that If he is offended or angered, he sends bolts of lightening to the ground to ignite the offender?s

Although every worshipper of the God Sango, the thunder god, owns a carved wand as a personal

Examples Of Petruchio In The Taming Of The Shrew
Petruchio is a good guy in The Taming of the Shrew. He is a good guy because he is just trying
to get Katherine to become better of a person, not all naggy and moody. What s going on in his
head is that he is going to tame her no matter what and he takes it as a challenge to his taming
ability. In (II.i.207 214)(p.s. the quotations are from sparknotes.) they have an exchange of witty
sentences to each other. In those lines he says that she is a wasp, dangerous animal, then she
replies if I m a wasp watch out for my stinger. He replies simply he will pluck it out, proving that
she can t hurt him and showing that he is trying to tame her. She then says if you can even find it

Appointment In Samarra Essay
Julian English, the main character in Appointment in Samarra by John O Hara, was a very heavy
drinker. Drinking is the main reason for Julian s downfall experiences throughout the story. In the
matter of three days, Julian English manages to make enemies with everyone that was once close
with him. Julian English s first fall was giving a reason for Harry Reilly to turn against him, which
was only the start of his downfalls. Eventually, the drinking then led to an end of his marriage with
his wife, Caroline. Not long after, the drinking, unfortunately, was the reason for Julian to commit
suicide.
Julian English was married to his beautiful wife, Caroline English. They lived in the town
Gibbsville and regularly attended the club and parties until Julian throws a drink in Harry s Reilly
face. Harry Reilly was a rich, well know man that lent Julian money the summer before. Julian
believed that because he owed Harry money, that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

something that people never thought would occur. Also, the incidentbetween Julian and Helen was

Gibbsville. These two main occurrences could recognize Julian English as a tragic hero.
The novel, Appointment in Samarra, was a series of downfall events Julian English experienced
that were all caused by drinking. Although Julian could be considered a tragic hero, the drinking
consumed his life and thus was the result of his death. Within three days Julian lost his wife, made
allies with two important men in Gibbsville, Harry Reilly and Ed Charney, as well as lost friends

Use of Imagery in Chopin’s The Awakening Essay
Use of Imagery in Chopin s The Awakening
Several passages in The Awakening struck me because of their similar imagery a bird, wings,
and nudity. The first passage I looked at is in Chapter 9 where Edna Pontellier has a vision of a
naked man standing beside a desolate rock (47) on a beach who is watching a bird fly away. This
image was evoked by a one particular piece that Mme Ratignolle plays which Edna significantly
calls Solitude. Apparently Edna frequently envisions certain images while listening to music:
Musical strains, well rendered, had a way of evoking pictures in her mind (47). Listening to this
piece Edna envisions a solitary, naked man with an attitude [...] of hopeless resignation (47). This
scene presents solitude ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
We find the same imagery of somebody standing solitary and naked on a beach. Throughout the
novel Edna has searched for someone to be close to and the only one she thought she could find
that closeness with was Robert Lebrun. The words of his note Good by because I love you (139)
are still on her mind when she is swimming out into the ocean. She has finally accepted that there
will not be a union of souls for her with anybody and that everybody is alone in the end.
In the scene Edna had envisioned earlier the man was watching a bird flying away. At the end of
he novel there is a bird as well, however, here it has a broken wing and is beating the air above,
reeling, fluttering, circling disabled down, down to the water (138). This passage reminded me
of a scene earlier in the novel where Edna tells Arobin about her last encounter with
Mademoiselle Reisz that has left her thinking about something the pianist had said to her: She
says queer things sometimes in a bantering way that you don t notice at the time and you find
yourself thinking about afterward. Edna tells Arobin: [S]he put her arms around me and felt my
shoulder blades, to see if my wings were strong, she said. The bird that would sour above the level
plain of tradition and prejudice must have strong wings. It is a sad spectacle to see weaklings

Compare And Contrast Walter And Beneatha
Lorraine Hansberry wrote a novel in 1959 called A Raisin in the Sun. In this book, the Youngers,
an African American family of five is living together in a very small apartment located in
Chicago. Mama owns this apartment, her two kids Walter Lee and Beneatha live with her, as well
as Walter s wife Ruth and their son Travis. After the death of Walter and Beneatha s father, Mama
receives an insurance payment because of his passing. There are many opinions on what to do with
this money. Walter and Beneatha both have ambition. There goals are very different but through
this quest of hopes and dreams, they have to remember that everything happens for a reason, even
if it doesn t seem that way. Walter Lee is an African American man who is constantly trying to make
things right for his family. He is very selfish to begin with. Walter basically just expects the
$10,000 to go to him to open a liquor store. When the check arrives, that is all he cares about. He

Maori Research Paper
One of the primary figures within Maori population Ngapuhi chief Hone Heke, like Rawiri
Taiwhanga, was in favour of the signing of the treaty. Hone Heke told Hobson at a meeting
[discussing the treaty]: Governor, you should stay with us and be like a father. If you go away,
then the French or the rum sellers will take us Maori over. How can we know what the future
will bring? If you stay, we can be all as one with you and the missionaries. The quote all as one
was also used by Hobson when shaking acknowledging Maori after they signed the treaty.
Missionaries and British officials commonly encouraged Maori to think of the treaty not as British
ruling them and their land, country, but as a personal relationship better them and the Queen
herself. Even years following the treaty, British used this as a way to control Maori in a way. For
example during the northern war Henry Williams printed 400 copies of the treaty in Maori and
spent many days clarifying to Maori tribes and communities that, since the treaty was a sacred
compact, described that neither the Governor and more importantly the Queen would allow any
tinihanga (tricky business).
During this time period, in the 1830s there was rumours that the French were also making attempts
to colonise New Zealand. Afraid of the French settling in their [Maori] country, taking over their
land, Maori saw the treaty as a way to ensure they would have the protection of the Queen and her
governors if anything was to happen.

overwhelming amount of responsibilities given to the head of special education created a
conflict among the head of the program, the counselor, the administrator, and the parent. 2.Loss
of trust and animosity among a team based on one teacher s lack of professionalism. The team

Similarities and Differences Found Within the Book...
Buried treasure, eye patches, and walking the plank are all words and phrases that often appear in
stories involving pirates. Tales about the voyages of pirates are often adventurous and riveting
ones. It is very awe inspiring to think about the daring lives those pirates once led. However, it
might not be safe to assume that these stories are close to the truth or even based on genuine facts.
In 1881 Robert Louis Stevensonwrote a book entitled Treasure Island, which in return would
forever change the way people looked at the term pirate. Due to this book there are several

The most important feature about the movie Sea Hawk is that pirates were for doing what the
pirates thought was right. These pirates could almost be thought of as gentlemen. These men were
out fighting for their country and for a just cause, not out to steal someone else s ideas or
positions, it seems. This is because these pirates were fighting a naval war against Spain for the
benefit of the British. For these pirates this was considered an act of piracy for a just cause. The
pirates in the movie Sea Hawk were considered to be the heroes which is a major movement
away from the standard evil, rival, or self serving character the pirates normally represent in other
movies of books. There was a point to their piracy, which was to defeat the British. Even though
these pirates still enjoyed the rewards of their actions, they did it not for the fame of fortune but
more for the physical rewards. These pirates were doing something much different then the normal
pirate might do and it is that they were doing what they were doing in the name of their county and
in Spain there were considered patriots by their fellow countrymen.
Now, the film Sea Hawk can be quite deceiving unless you look at the somewhat hidden meaning
behind these pirates. In the back of all of these pirates minds, they were doing everything to supply
their own self fish needs and wishes. The pirates portrayed in the movie placed themselves on the
side where they

The Kabuki Theater

which only males can act on stage. For over 400 years, women have only been allowed in the

The Demon Queller Glare makeup is so powerful that supposedly the actor can make a glaring
pose to scare away any evil spirits. Based on the Samurai pattern, this makeup is accomplished
by leaving the eyelids white but framing the eyes above and below with black lines. The
makeup emphasizes the actor s eyes as much as possible, and makes them seem to grow wider
and wider as he stares (Agostino 4). Sometimes actors draw in eyes on their closed eyelids to
make them look even bigger for the ideal glaring pose (Heinrichs 118). In earlier days, the
Kabuki actor would apply Kumadori makeup with his fingers so he could follow his bone
structure, outlining the right places to make it look even bolder. Kumadori makeup is still very
popular today. Expressed through bold and dramatic designs painted with fingers and brushes, it
remains the center of attention in Kabuki. Common characters in Kabuki theatre each have basic
makeup colors and patterns that they wear often, which each color representing a different
emotion (Agostino 5). The colors most commonly used are red, black, pale green, light blue, and
indigo, where red stands for anger, black represents fear, pale green stands for calmness, light blue
represents sadness, pink indicates youth, and indigo stands for gloominess. Also, in Kumadori
makeup different shades of white are used to represent class, age, and even gender of the character
(Heinrichs 119). A lot of important costumes in Kabuki

Canada’S Counter-Terrorism Strategy Is Failing. From The
Canada s counter terrorism strategy is failing. From the 2014 attack on Parliament hill to the
January massacre at the Quebec city mosque, it is clear that terrorism is an imminent threat, both to
Canada and to the world. Backlash against Western culture provides ammunition to extremist
Islamic groups globally, which is only exacerbated by the West s disproportionate military responses
to legitimate and perceived threats through drone strikes or other military operations. Anger
towards domestic policy decisions fuels far right white supremacists, and government s

Nevertheless, this policy is criticized for its disregard of the globalized nature of terrorism, for its
indifference to the role of international law and global cooperation in maintaining international
support, for its neglect to consider the risks that supporting foreign indigenous forces may engender,
for the inevitable resource drain such a policy would generate, and for anti Canadian narrative that
would be incited by terrorists, simply leading to increased attacks. Conversely, another counter
terrorism strategy Canada may pursue is to support UN leadership in the fight against terrorism.
Recognizing the global nature of terrorism, proponents of this policy argue that Canada must
strengthen the UN s effectiveness on security matters to ensure any international response to this
issue reflects the interests and the needs of all in the global community. Under such a policy,
Canada would have to debate all possible counter terror strategies in front of the UN and would
have to adhere to established treaties and work towards drafting more resolutions aimed to limit
chemical, nuclear and biological weapons. Additionally, such policy proponents encourage Canada
to become an active participant in established international institutions such as the ICC. This
approach to dealing with terrorism is criticized however, opponents claiming that the UN is
ineffective, slow and tied up by bureaucracy. Moreover, the UN s

Reproductive Rights In The Handmaid s Tale By Margaret Atwood
How does a government take away reproductive rights and under what circumstances do they feel
obligated to do so? A government takes away reproductive rights by giving women no ultimate
choice with who they conceive a child with, because of the low birth rates in societies, due to
sterility. The government takes away peoples rights because they need something in return and
would not be able to succeed without enforcing something new. In Margaret Atwood s The
Handmaid s Tale, the government uses the women who had a child in a second marriage, out of
wed lock, or gave their child up for an adoption to overcome the birth rate crisis. The fertile women
of Gilead are given the option between two choices. The first choice is to live a life of servitude...

Animal Welfare Issues
Animal welfare issues exist everywhere in the world, some places more so than others. In
saying that, over the years thanks to organizations like PETA, SSCS, SAFE and IDA and so
many more amazing groups have led society to become more aware of the problems that exist
when it comes to issues relating to the proper care of animals. One very important example of
animal cruelty is animals that are brutally skinned for their fur, whether it s dogs in China or
seals being culled for their fur, it s inhumane. This is mostly because of the lack of compassion
the fashion industry has when it comes to fur. No matter how you look at it, there is no way to
make a fur coat in a humane way. Whether fur comes from animal farms or from wild animals, it
is simply a barbaric action. Animals killed for their fur in animal farms are normally electrocuted
by having an electrical cable attached to their mouths and another cable inserted into their rectum.
Wild animals that are caught for their fur are usually trapped in a steel leghold trap, a device that
has been proven to be completely inhumane and has, in fact, been banned in 65 countries, but is still
allowed in the United States.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Land use concerns are one of the most important factors that must be addressed when proposing a
project of this magnitude. Community involvement and feedback is essential to determining the
overall effects the proposed project will have on the community. According to Marriott (1997) the

Analyzing community concerns regarding land use will be of significant importance.
The proposed recycling center would be located in a rural area that has many farms and consists of
numerous waterways. The population is medium in size and spread throughout the area. Most of
the farms divert water from the waterways for their crops and several unincorporated towns use the
water for non potable use. The towns get their drinking water from the ground water via wells.

syndrome caused by HIV, the human immunodeficiency virus. The virus is spread through bodily

Evaluation Of A School Psychologist With The Simi Valley...
I interviewed Dr. Linda Vandaveer, a school psychologist with the Simi Valley Unified School
District, on February 4, 2016. I saw her at Katherine Elementary School, and she also works with
two other schools in the district. I found the interview enjoyable and interesting.
At Katherine Elementary School Dr. Vandaveer has her own portable where she can test students.
Her desk is in one corner and there was a kidney shaped table with a few chairs close by. Other than
a couple filing cabinets the room was fairly sparse and the walls were bare
At student can be referred for special services by a parent, teacher, or principal. A studentstudy team
is then set up to evaluate the child. The team includes the school psychologist, who is the
coordinator of the team, the principal, the child s teacher, the special education teacher, speech
specialist, upper and lower grade teacher representatives, and the parents. The parents can also bring
other people, including a therapist.
The school psychologist then assigns individuals in the student study team to perform certain tests.
The psychologist does four hours of testing broken up over a couple of days, the speech specialist
does around two hours of testing, and the special education teacher spends around three hours
testing the child. The teacher and parents provide information about the child. The information
gathered includes intellectual function, visual motor integrations, behavior rating scales, parent and
teacher reports,

Science Math And Science Standards
This week s math and science lesson focused on magnetism and incorporated both math and
science standards, per the Arizona Early Learning Standards. The lesson started with reading a
book regarding magnetism, entitled What Makes a Magnet? by Franklyn M. Branley. After the
read aloud, students were dismissed for centers and groups of five students circulated through
completing the lesson activity. For this lesson, the objective and sub objectives were as follows:
After completing this lesson, students will be able to sort magnetic and nonmagnetic objects by
using a magnet with 100% accuracy. o Students will define the following vocabulary words:
magnet, magnetic, nonmagnetic o Students will be able to use a magnet to find magnetic objects.
o Students will sort objects that are magnetic into one group and nonmagnetic into another group.
The lesson objectives were clear and measurable. While reading What Makes a Magnet?,
vocabulary and comprehension questions were asked to ensure there was a conceptual
understanding of the terms magnetic and nonmagnetic. These definitions were imperative for a
student to know, as they would not be able to sort objects correctly without understanding the
concept. Once the students could differentiate between the two groups, students would use a
magnet wand to test the objects. This shows that the students could use tools to investigate. Lastly,
the students were to sort the objects tested into two groups, placing the objects in either a

Economies Of World Powers Essay
Economies of World Powers
Before WWI The End of WWII A country without a strong economy will lack to make an impact
on the world stage for the foreseeable future. As a country, your power is as strong as the amount
of money you can generate, and share with the rest of the world. Think of the global economy as a
group of friends; Sam, Ben, and GГјnter, who are all wealthy in their own way. Let s say GГјnter
and Ben have resources that Sam wants, Sam will pay for it, which adds to GГјnter and Bens
wealth. Now having money, GГјnter and Sam buy resources that Sam has. All three then take the
resources they acquired, and the wealth they gained to develop new technologies and systems that
each can use separate from one another. This effectively ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is where the problem starts. Throughout its history the U.S. has gone through crisis after
crisis from poor management, and the selective trust that the stock market offers. The market
was responsible for a financial panic in 1907 in which, The Knickerbocker Trust was unable to
save itself from failure, and the public started to fear that the banking and trust industries were
experiencing liquidity issues and the runs on banks began (US History for Kids 5). Once these
liquidity issues started it was in some people s minds that Teddy Roosevelt would break apart
these powerful trusts. For this reason, investors stopped funding the banks and took their money
out of the banks. In turn causing a trickle down effect that lead many non investing people to do
the same. The Panic of 1907 lasted a little less than a month, but was enough to give U.S. citizens
a scare. A few years later in 1913 the U.S. announced, the creation of the Fed and income tax
(Domitrovic 1). The Panic made people behave more cautiously with their money, which is a
problem if people save too much, these taxes made this cautious spending a problem. The federal
and income taxes caused people to hoard their money more than they had before these taxes were
announced. Growth of the U.S. economy slowed greatly

Global Warming And Its Effects On The Environment Essay
There s no argument about it now, global warming exists and is a problem. More and more people
are becoming concerned with greenhouse gases effects on the environment as well as humans
effects on the environment through our carbon footprint. Many activities humans participate in
help add to the greenhouse gases in the atmosphere and increase the size and the effect of the
carbon footprint humanity is leaving behind. The carbon footprint is the amount of carbon the
humans create as waste through many processes such as the burning of fossil fuels and more.
Recyclingis one of the first ideas used to combat pollution and greenhouse gasemissions. However,
many people still argue recycling s effectiveness and whether the processes are helping and if the
processes are worth the money. Recycling helps reduce the carbon footprint by reusing multiple
types of materials, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, as well as creating alternative sources
of energy. Recycling s main idea is to reuse materials from past products that were already
created and are no longer used or just the simple reuse of a product the way it is. The recycling
of old materials reduces the need to create or harvest raw materials in which both of those
processes release large amounts of greenhouse gases. Most people know of recycling paper and
plastic, but many more types of materials can be reused like metals and textiles. B. Zamani, M.
Svanström, G. Peters, and T. Rydberg (2015) state that the reuse of

Siddhartha Gautama, who is also known as Buddha, was the founder of Buddhism. He was a

His lessons were transferred verbally and not recorded until numerous years after his passing. His
basic teaching were of deep affection, sympathy and tolerance. The Buddha showed that a searcher
must have sympathy for every single living being and this was the most vital educating. He tried to
maintain a strategic distance from profound reasoning, he abstained from utilizing the term God,
favoring to discuss the empirical method that someone may get away from the cycle of birth and
rebirth and accomplish enlightenment. The Buddha allured from those envious of his fame and
spiritual evolution. One of his own people, Devadatta grew covetous of him and tried to part the
group. He even attempted on three events to assassinate the Buddha, yet on each event he was
unsuccessful. Siddhartha Gautama passed away on c. 483 B.C.E in Kusinagara, India; after
numerous times of teaching and roaming all through India. Almost dying, he told Ananda, his

Quotes From The Movie Rocky IV
The movie, Rocky IV, contains many thought provoking quotes that are applicable to anyone s
life. My favorite quote from the movie is when Rocky Balboa says, The world ain t all sunshine
and rainbows. It s a very mean and nasty place and I don t care how tough you are it will beat
you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. Even though it is not a feel good
quote, it helped me to take action in an intense problem that I faced when I was in sixth grade. In
2009, I started my first year of middle school. I was excited for opportunity of a fresh start. In
elementary school, I really did not face any problems with my classmates, and that gave me a
superficial view that the world was actually all sunshine; however, in sixth grade, my classmates
started to judge others because of their racial background. Because my parents are from
Venezuela, I have very tan skin with super dark hair, and this made me be viewed as someone who
could be easily bullied for the way I stood out.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Roland s Influence On The Renaissance Church
Since its founding, Christianity has been very influential in many aspects of society. Not until
Christianity was unified under the umbrella of the Roman Catholic Church that the influences of its
doctrine spread, especially in literature. The progress of Christianity accelerated when Constantine I
adopted Christianityas the official religionof Rome. Soon after, Christianity became a state
sponsored religion. Constantine and various Christian leaders consolidated Christianity at the First
Council of Nicaea. This decision eventually led to the The Council of Chalcedon, which defined a
Christian hierarchy, and chose Rome as the center of Christianity. After the fall of the Roman
Empire, the medieval ages began shortly thereafter. Despite the... Show more content on

Overall, the consolidation of Christianity in Rome essentially led to a unified Christian voice which
commanded its powerful influence throughout the world; this includes the influences on Western
European writings during the Medieval and Renaissance Periods.
During the Medieval period, literature had many biblical references because of the Catholic
Church s influence. One literary piece that showed the influence of the church was the Song of
Roland. This literary tale takes place in Roncesvalles, which is between Italy and France, where
a major conflict between the Christians and Muslims occurred. Roland, was the protagonist, in
Charlemagne s army and was fighting valiantly against a Muslim force that outnumbers theirs. As
a way to settle the war and retreat back to France, Charlemagne s army is promised gold by the
Muslims. In a quick bid to end the war Charlemagne s soldiers say yes to the offer of gold. When
Roland chooses his uncle as the one to accept the offer from the Muslims, he becomes enraged and
plots against Roland, ultimately leading to his death. Because of the Christian influences, after

Piggy from the start of the novel is portrayed as someone the boys can bully and ridicule which
makes him a victim. He confides in Ralph that he is sensitive about his appearance (he is
overweight) and the fact he has to wear glasses. I don t care what [you] call me so long as . . . [it

He scornfully sees the other boys Acting like a crowd of kids . Later on , Piggy has the idea of
creating a sundial to keep track of time. Piggy strives to maintain a hold on the old world they
came from and retain a semblance of law and order in their ever increasing chaotic lives. At this
point events are interrupted as Jack has let the fire go out and a ship was passing. Piggy
supports Ralph in telling Jack off for his negligence and Jack hits Piggy in the face smashing
one of the lenses of his glasses, making it difficult for Piggy to see clearly. This seems to cement
the relationship between Ralph and Piggy and leads to Piggy becoming a threat and a person to
hate for Jack. He refuses to share the meat from the pig with Piggy , who is finally given some
by Simon. From this point on Piggy is now firmly in Jack s sights to be punished and bullied. He
is always telling him to shut up. The division between Ralph and Jack widens as he is concerned
only with hunting. Piggy is now dependant on Ralph as he cant see properly but similarly Ralph
is becoming dependant on Piggy for support as law and order is breaking down and Jack leaves
the group to set up his rival tribe taking with him by intimidation the choir and leaving Ralph and
Piggy to care for the littleuns. Piggy being the most mature of the boys , asserts that Life . . . is

What I Think About The World Of Personalities Has Been...
Introduction: What is the first thing you think of when someone says the word personality? Do you
think along the lines of birth order or someone being outgoing or shy? Those are both normal
thoughts of what personalities are. Always I would immediately think of the four temperaments. In
my research I plan to prove that personalities come in different temperaments known as choleric,
melancholy, sanguine, and phlegmatic. I will be explaining and talking about each one; Where they
came from, how they are different, similar, and what they mean, and also how certain temperaments
people have affect how they get along with others and what jobs suit them better and why.
Pages1 5: [Based off of the order of my thesis] Describe each
Exploring the world of personalities has been remarkably interesting. What originally sparked my
interest was my curiosity of what personality I personally have and how everyone is so uniquely
different. The four temperaments are what I m going to branch off of. The four temperaments are
choleric, melancholy, sanguine and phlegmatic. Cholerics are often found to be the Alpha of our
species, known as being dominant leaders, being more extrovert. Melancholic is definition of
perfectionist who is introverted and sensitive. Phlegmatics are very submissive, indecisive people
pleasers who are introverted. Sanguines are extremely extroverted, who are social butterflies who
enjoy being center of attention being their bubbly, chatty outgoingness

  • 2. Similarities And Differences Between Dancing With Wolves... For this paper I will be comparing Avatar (2009) and Dancing with Wolves (1990) which are two very acclaimed movies that in a sense are very similar to each other but at the same time do not share the same themes or story line. Avatar, which is Fantasy/Science fiction movie directed by James Cameron released on December 18, 2009 being the world s highest grossing film of all time and is one of the most prosperous movies of the last few years. It has been nominated for nine Academy Awards and has won three of them. Dancing with Wolves that in the other hand is an Epic Western/Drama movie released on November 21, 1990 and directed by Kevin Costner. The first thing that could be very noticeable between these movies is how far apart each movie was released away from each other, almost a 20 year difference between the releases date. I believe that these two movies have a lot of common and resemble each other in many ways that could even imagine. In both movies the protagonists are very similar to each other. But also, some of the themes and aspects that these movies share are: main characters falling in love, protagonist being introduced to a new civilization and how both protagonists are leading a battle against a different tribe. Avatar is a live action film about a human colony that has been established on a distant planet called Pandora. The humans are going after an uncommon mineral that could settle an ecological crisis that is affecting planet Earth. However, their plans ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 6. Introduction Of A Foreign Species Biodiversity Introduction For once in history, the introduction of a foreign species has had paramount importance throughout their evolution for many terrestrial ecosystems. Apis Mellifera also commonly known as the Western Honey bee, is a vital component to global biodiversity. The honey bee provides ecosystem services of considerable ecological significance for the reproduction of plants and for the pollination of many economically important crops. Although the place of origin of Apis Mellifera is unclear, North America was introduced to the Western Honey beearound 1622 by European colonists (Weber, E. 2012). Amongst the eight species in the genus Apis, Apis Mellifera is the most widely valued honey bee in the United States(citation). Apis Mellifera live in nests, called a hive, and typically house 40,00 bees, which are divided into three different types of adult bees: Queen, Worker, Drone(Winston, M. L., 1987). Majority of the bees living in the beehive are Worker bees that provide majority of the fundamental processes needed to sustain the beehive. Honey bees consume processed nectar (honey) and pollen (bee bread) which are both found in Angiosperms (flowering plants). Nectar, which bees convert to honey serves as a primary source of carbohydrates (Winston, M. L., 1987). This provides honey bees energy for flight and product for colony maintenance. Honey bees will die within a few days if they do not have a surplus abundance of honey (Winston, M. L., 1987). Pollen is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 10. `` The Circle `` By Dave Eggers Transparency is key in The Circle. Without it, no one can even attempt to know everything. To be transparent, one must allow others to see everything, to know everything. The Circle makes sure its employees know this to be fact, and it ensures that it is implemented. The Circle puts up a front that transparency equates to freedom, when in reality it is the opposite. The programs endorsed by the Circleare incredibly restricting and promote total openness, going so far as to say that secrets are lies and privacy is theft (Eggers 305). Dave Eggerss The Circle shows that complete transparency in all aspects of life is dangerous because with it people lose basic human rights such as privacy and freedom to be themselves. Mae s best friend, Annie, gets her a job at one of the most prestigious companies in the world, the Circle. In her beginnings at the company, Mae focuses on her work but soon learns that another, almost more important, aspect of the job is keeping up with social media, which prompts her to pay more attention and rise to a very high achieving number in the PartiRank. At a company party, a mysterious new man appears named Kalden, a man who complicates Mae s life at the Circle and her relationship with Annie, who thinks he might be a spy. As a child the journey is frightening and never seems to get simpler throughout our lives. The problems we face are different for everybody. And after life thought us its lessons, we oftentimes have to remind ourselves of the origin of the lessons to reinstate its principles. This is also the case in Elizabeth Bishop s poem in the waiting room . In this poem the speaker, Elizabeth, has trouble accepting who she is, when she not only realizes she is part of a larger, more complex, society but also that she is a woman. In the following stanza, that consists of twenty one lines, we see that the speaker is captivated by her thoughts and starts questioning why she has to be like the women in the picture and her aunt. She no longer says that she is in the waiting room, she only tells us that she sees shadowy gray knees,/trousers and skirts and boots/and different pairs of hands/lying under the lamps . In the third stanza consisting of fifteen lines, the speaker is wondering why she has to be like her aunt or any other woman for that matter, and what the similarities between herself and other women are, she does not mention her surroundings anymore. Then it seems the speaker completely lost touch with reality in the penultimate stanza, of only four lines, where she says that The waiting room was bright/and too hot. It was sliding/beneath a big black wave,/another, and another . This suggests that she might have fainted. This came about following the decision made by Lord Atkin in the case of Donoghue v Stevenson, and has been further developed in a number of other common law examples. It is however worth noting that it can become too predictable at times, as in many cases the neighbour principle will be somewhat perfectly fitting. Is it just as simple as establishing that there is even just an ounce of proximity there and hence creating that duty of care? There has been some degree of scepticism and so this brings us to Lord Wilberforce as he attempted to re formulate the neighbour principle in the case of Anns v Merton London Borough ... • 20. Disadvantages Of Vertical Jump Test Project Write Up Unlike most studies and tests that measure and examine jumping ability and leg muscle power, the vertical jump test is extremely inexpensive to conduct. Although the vertical jump test is simple, easy, and quick to perform, there are numerous disadvantages to the test as well. In the vertical jump test, an individual is asked to attempt to touch the wall at the highest point of their jump. When the individual jumps, their technique and form play a large role in maximizing their jump height. The jump height can be affected by not only how much the individual bends their knees before they jump, but also by how effectively the individual uses their arms. Furthermore, the individual must use timing when attempting to touch the wall at the highest point of their jump. It is a common argument that technique may play a bigger role in the vertical jump test than leg power. In addition, individuals typically use chalk on their fingertips to record their jump height, but the use of chalk is not accurate and can lead to errors in the recorded measurements. All these factors can lead to varying results, so essentially this test can be considered unreliable if you are not cautious with how you do it. Another factor that may contribute to varying results is the actual height of the person. For example, if you a participant who is over 6 feet, they have a greater advantage than someone who is 5 feet because they are obviously taller and their arms will be longer. They are ... The first passage I looked at is in Chapter 9 where Edna Pontellier has a vision of a naked man standing beside a desolate rock (47) on a beach who is watching a bird fly away. This image was evoked by a one particular piece that Mme Ratignolle plays which Edna significantly calls Solitude. At the end of he novel there is a bird as well, however, here it has a broken wing and is beating the air above, reeling, fluttering, circling disabled down, down to the water (138). This passage reminded me of a scene earlier in the novel where Edna tells Arobin about her last encounter with Mademoiselle Reisz that has left her thinking about something the pianist had said to her: She says queer things sometimes in a bantering way that you don t notice at the time and you find yourself thinking about afterward. The most important feature about the movie Sea Hawk is that pirates were for doing what the pirates thought was right. These pirates could almost be thought of as gentlemen. These men were out fighting for their country and for a just cause, not out to steal someone else s ideas or positions, it seems. This is because these pirates were fighting a naval war against Spain for the benefit of the British. For these pirates this was considered an act of piracy for a just cause. The pirates in the movie Sea Hawk were considered to be the heroes which is a major movement away from the standard evil, rival, or self serving character the pirates normally represent in other movies of books. There was a point to their piracy, which was to defeat the British. Even though these pirates still enjoyed the rewards of their actions, they did it not for the fame of fortune but more for the physical rewards. These pirates were doing something much different then the normal pirate might do and it is that they were doing what they were doing in the name of their county and in Spain there were considered patriots by their fellow countrymen. Now, the film Sea Hawk can be quite deceiving unless you look at the somewhat hidden meaning behind these pirates. One very important example of animal cruelty is animals that are brutally skinned for their fur, whether it s dogs in China or seals being culled for their fur, it s inhumane. This is mostly because of the lack of compassion the fashion industry has when it comes to fur. No matter how you look at it, there is no way to make a fur coat in a humane way. The proposed recycling center would be located in a rural area that has many farms and consists of numerous waterways. The population is medium in size and spread throughout the area. Most of the farms divert water from the waterways for their crops and several unincorporated towns use the water for non potable use. My dad took time teaching me when I was a young man how to fix anything, but cars are the most important to me. Being able to fix anything that has to be is a not only rare skill but it is a way of life that takes time to learn. I can now fix my own cars instead of taking it to a shop to have them fix it. It has made me a better man. Taking a vehicle to the shop is growing absorbedly expensive, older cars are simpler but with the newer cars, getting more complex you need to know what you are doing. The need for a basic understanding of a car s interworkings is paramount or mechanic shops will have a monopoly in the repair business. The old, rusted out Camaro was a project for my dad and me to work on together. A fifteen year old boy under the hood of a 1967 Chevy Camaro changing a carburetor. There he was wearing a camouflage mask of grease and oil looking like an apache warrior getting ready for war. The day had a bluebird sky; it was a warm spring after noon without a cloud in the sky. That young kid was me and that day has had significant impact on me. As I leap under the hood and I carelessly grab a Snap on wrench, and I start trying to unbolt the Holly 750 cfm double pumper carburetor I wrenched on it for 5 minutes and I said to my dad what is wrong with this thing, is it the right size wrench for this bolt ? Later, slaves shipped to America from Africa brought even more diseases, such as yellow fever and malaria. Ever since, American history has been riddled with infectious diseases and epidemics. Although the United States has eliminated some horrible diseases that plagued it in the past, and helped other countries cope with epidemics, deadly diseases still pose problems in America. • 42. Science Math And Science Standards This week s math and science lesson focused on magnetism and incorporated both math and science standards, per the Arizona Early Learning Standards. The lesson started with reading a book regarding magnetism, entitled What Makes a Magnet? by Franklyn M. Branley. After the read aloud, students were dismissed for centers and groups of five students circulated through completing the lesson activity. For this lesson, the objective and sub objectives were as follows: After completing this lesson, students will be able to sort magnetic and nonmagnetic objects by using a magnet with 100% accuracy. o Students will define the following vocabulary words: magnet, magnetic, nonmagnetic o Students will be able to use a magnet to find magnetic objects. o Students will sort objects that are magnetic into one group and nonmagnetic into another group. The lesson objectives were clear and measurable. While reading What Makes a Magnet?, vocabulary and comprehension questions were asked to ensure there was a conceptual understanding of the terms magnetic and nonmagnetic. These definitions were imperative for a student to know, as they would not be able to sort objects correctly without understanding the concept. Once the students could differentiate between the two groups, students would use a magnet wand to test the objects. This shows that the students could use tools to investigate. Lastly, the students were to sort the objects tested into two groups, placing the objects in either a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Throughout its history the U.S. has gone through crisis after crisis from poor management, and the selective trust that the stock market offers. The market was responsible for a financial panic in 1907 in which, The Knickerbocker Trust was unable to save itself from failure, and the public started to fear that the banking and trust industries were experiencing liquidity issues and the runs on banks began (US History for Kids 5). Once these liquidity issues started it was in some people s minds that Teddy Roosevelt would break apart these powerful trusts. For this reason, investors stopped funding the banks and took their money out of the banks. In turn causing a trickle down effect that lead many non investing people to do the same. The Panic of 1907 lasted a little less than a month, but was enough to give U.S. citizens a scare. A few years later in 1913 the U.S. announced, the creation of the Fed and income tax (Domitrovic 1). The Panic made people behave more cautiously with their money, which is a problem if people save too much, these taxes made this cautious spending a problem. The federal and income taxes caused people to hoard their money more than they had before these taxes were announced. Growth of the U.S. economy slowed greatly ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 44. Global Warming And Its Effects On The Environment Essay There s no argument about it now, global warming exists and is a problem. More and more people are becoming concerned with greenhouse gases effects on the environment as well as humans effects on the environment through our carbon footprint. Many activities humans participate in help add to the greenhouse gases in the atmosphere and increase the size and the effect of the carbon footprint humanity is leaving behind. The carbon footprint is the amount of carbon the humans create as waste through many processes such as the burning of fossil fuels and more. Recyclingis one of the first ideas used to combat pollution and greenhouse gasemissions. However, many people still argue recycling s effectiveness and whether the processes are helping and if the processes are worth the money. Recycling helps reduce the carbon footprint by reusing multiple types of materials, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, as well as creating alternative sources of energy. Recycling s main idea is to reuse materials from past products that were already created and are no longer used or just the simple reuse of a product the way it is. The recycling of old materials reduces the need to create or harvest raw materials in which both of those processes release large amounts of greenhouse gases. Most people know of recycling paper and plastic, but many more types of materials can be reused like metals and textiles. B. Zamani, M. SvanstrГ¶m, G. Peters, and T.
