Michael Jordan Chicago Bulls
The Chicago Bulls select...Michael Jordan of the University of North Carolina. These are the
words that came out of David Stern, the National Basketball Association (NBA) commissioner s
mouth when the Chicago Bulls drafted Michael Jordan who would grow up to be one of the best
basketball players ever. He solidified himself as a basketball star in college after committing to the
University of North Carolina, earning the starting spot on the team as a freshman, and winning an
NCAA championship after a tough high school career. Jordan is considered one of the best
basketball players ever due to his awing talent and determination throughout his NBA career.

He was drafted third overall in the NBA draft by the Chicago Bulls. When he entered the NBA,
the Bulls were one of the worst teams in the NBA. As a rookie, Jordan turned the Bulls into a
playoff team. Michael far exceeded anything imagined. Jordan instantly established himself as a
first rate scorer who could rebound, pass, and play ferocious defense (Minsky 110). For his
unbelievable season, Jordan was awarded the NBA Rookie of the Year. In the next season, the
Bulls made the playoffs again, even with Michael sidelined for sixty games with a broken foot.
In the playoffs, Jordan was cleared to play five minutes, but ended up playing a lot more than
that. He set a playoff record with sixty three points in a game, and he amazingly did this while
he was just getting over a broken foot. His victory was all the more sweet for the adversity he
had encountered along the way, including his annual frustration in the playoffs and the
criticism he regularly received in the media. Still, Michael s unbending passion made him a
hero to most fans (Minsky 115). This quote is saying that after he won his first NBA championship,
it was even better for everyone because of the criticism he was facing for losing in the playoffs for
a few years before that year. He would go on to win six NBA championships, five Most Valuable
Player (MVP) awards, and two Olympic gold medals in his amazing

Music, Pop, By Mehgan Perine
From classical music, to pop, to a few selections of musical theatre music, Mehgan Perine surely
delivered an outstanding performance at her senior recital. On Monday May 16, many of
Mehgan s beloved family members, peers, and friends all came out to support her at the Covina
Center of the Performing Arts to watch her perfectly roll out a beautiful recital. A senior recital
that included many types of music genres, and even an Italian aria. Perine is only eighteen years
old and she was the only student at the School of Arts and Enterprise to be selected to perform a
senior recital. Her talent, grades, and personality got her to where she is today. Perine did bring
an amazing overall performance to the stage by tying in everything in her vocal talents with
posture and breathing, diction, tone and registration, and performance etiquette. During the
performance Perine sang a total of 12 solo songs and a duet. During the entirety of the show
Perine showed excellence in her posture and breathing. She stood in a all black dress for the entire
show. She was never slouching her shoulders, her knees were never locked, and she stood tall and
confident. At moments, the audience could not comment on her posture because she would walk
around the stage to give the show a more alive feeling. Her breathing was excellent also.
Throughout most of the show many were impressed that she did not breath a lot from her chest.
The audience, could more than likely tell that she was breathing

Imperialism In Rwanda
Since its joining of the UN on September 18, 1962, Rwanda has long been active in the field of
international politics. Rwanda was a Belgian colony. The population of this little East African
nation is divided into two ethnic groups, The Hutu majority, and the Tutsi minority. Conflict
caused a power struggle between these two parties and has plagued the nation for a good portion
of the twentieth century. During Belgian occupation, the Belgians relied upon the Tutsis to govern
the nation, as their skin was lighter and heads were physically larger. This would soon stern great
strife, as in 1959, both sides began to demand more political independence and war broke out.
Hundreds of thousands of Tutsis were killed, and many more fled to neighboring... Show more

They commended the parties for finding value and diplomacy and for seeking peaceful political
solutions. However strenuous it may seem, that was evident in July, when the parties agreed to
extend the period of the negotiations for another four months to give themselves more time to close
the underlying gaps. They have continued the talks on P5+1 Iran s nuclear program. The
representatives of those countries are negotiating a comprehensive plan of action that, once
implemented, would ensure that Iran does not acquire a nuclear weapon and that Iran s nuclear
program is exclusively peaceful. They seek to finalize such arrangements by 24 November of this
year. Hopefully the negotiation goes well. In the meantime, the Council and its Iran Sanctions
Committee must ensure the continued implementation of United Nations sanctions. We have been
troubled to hear reports of confusion as to whether the sanctions remain in effect during the period
of negotiations. Although the P5+1 offered Iran some limited and reversible sanctions relief as
part of the joint plan of action, the plan included no changes to United Nations sanctions. The role
of the 1737 Committee in support of the P5+1 process is vital to its success. We agree with the
Chair that only the Security Council itself can alter the sanctions measures applied by the

Tristan And Isolde Essay
In Tristan, by Gottfried Von Strassburg, Tristan and Isolde s love is best characterized as being
moral and immoral at the same time. This paradoxical feature is indivisible to their relationship
and it appears in various incidents, for example, when Isolde receives the ordeal of hot red iron
and when Isolde and Tristan lie together in a cave with a sword between them.
In Chapter 23, in order to prove her innocence and to end the rumor in the court, Isolde has to
accept Bishop s suggestion for an ordeal of hot red iron. She fears her reputation and honor will
be ruined at once and she is also troubled by the fact that she needs to come up with a plot to
whitewash her falseness (246). She confides all these secret struggles to God and she finds her way
through praying and fasting. Isolde does not feel bad about her immoral love with Tristan; ... Show

Tristan and Isolde are banished because Mark, King of Cornwall, is suspicious again. Led by the
master huntsman, Mark discovers the cave where the two live in and, with deep suspicion in his
heart, he believes this is the chance to discover the truth. Through the window, he finds his wife
and nephew well away from each other, one on one side, the other on the other, with the naked
sword between them (272). Tristan and Isolde seem to be so innocent, however, they hide their
guilt in deep as this is another plot to cover their immoral love. The virtuous act is indeed
immoral because it hides their intimate relationship. Tristan proposes this plan out of constant
fear that someone might discover their relationship. Isolde adopts the plan as neither does she
want it to happen. In fact, the two enjoy their time together very much. The cave they live in is
called the Cave of Lovers, with a bed in the center which is engraved along its sides with letters,
announcing that the bed was dedicated to the Goddess of Love (261). It is like the all knowing

Jackie Robinson Broke Baseball s Color Barrier
Jackie Robinson
During the 1940 s, the African Americans were segregated from the Whites in America. White
people in America had a lot more advantages or opportunities. Up until when Jackie Robinson
potentially brought the two races together, many signs of hatred were shown on the African
Americans. They had separate schools, restaurants, and transportation systems. Nobody ever
thought that the two races would be integrated one day. Predictably, life at this time was not very
easy for African Americans. Civil Rights activists, though, were determined to change the way
African Americans were treated. In November of 1945, Jackie Robinson broke baseball s color
barrier becoming the first African Americanto play Major League Baseball. Robinson made his
first appearance playing for Brooklyn Dodgers. People were at first skeptical about letting an
African American into the sport. Branch Rickey, the Dodgers general manager, ignored the
skepticism and gave robinson the go ahead to join his team. Soon they realized that a new era in
our country has begun. Jackie Robinson entered the league reluctant to know about the hate that he
would get but left one of the greatest players in the sport for not only his talent but what he did for
the country. This opened the sport and many other things for the African American race. Jackie
Robinson being the first African American to play the game, brought many more African
Americans to play and watch the game. Robinson playing baseball

How To Prepare For Western Civilization
To prepare, I first wrote a paper about Winston Churchill that I had to do for my Western
Civilization II class. This helped me pick out what information I wanted to include in my
speech. I used one Sunday to the write the bulk of my paper, as well as my speech outline. I was
expecting to give our speeches earlier than when we started, so I started practicing my speech
early. I had time to memorize all that I could and used notecards for specific dates and facts.
When I got up in front of the audience, I became really nervous even though I was well prepared.
I could feel my hands shaking and my heart beating. In the middle of my speech, I got a sudden
sense of dread that something was wrong. I thoughtthat maybe I had forgotten something... Show

I wish I didn t get so nervous, so I d like to be able to deal with that better. I hope that as I get
more experience, that nervousness will go away or be not as present in my mind. The feeling of
dread I got in the middle of my speech was definitely unexpected. I ve never had that feeling
when practicing my speech before. I also presented one of my pictures out of order, which I didn
t think I would do. I had the times I clicked to the next picture written out on my notecards, but I
think I just clicked through because of nervousness. I procrastinated a lot on my shield speech,
and I went first, so I didn t have as much time to prepare as I did with my informative speech. I
prepared early for this speech and performed in the middle of our class. In this speech, I was better
at planning what I had to say because I wrote out a paper beforehand, and that helped. Next time, I
suppose I ll try not to be so nervous, except I m not sure how you stop that. I hope to be more
comfortable with people watching me next time. I know I really, really, really want to do

Defending Sir Isaac Newton
I m going to be defending my client Sir Isaac Newton. Sir Isaac Newton was born in England of
1463 on January 4. He was the only son of a local farmer also named Isaac Newton who died
three months before Sir Isaac Newton was born. When Isaac Newton got older he started to study
the study of gravity and experiment of how things fall how we get up and much more. Sir Isaac
Newtonmade some pretty good discoveries And he was also very intelligent that is how he made
them. The first thing that he made was a telescope and he studied it but not only that he also
studied the solar system and found out how the planets have faces on them. When Isaac Newton
got a little bit older he moved to britain. He also made one of the most important books in the
history of science. The telescope he discovered wasn t an ordinary telescope it was a reflecting

how important he was he mad basically science because he was so smart. The church really
doubted Isaac Newton because of his work. The church hated Isaac Newton because Isaac Newton
thought that believing in god is idolatry and he thought that worshiping him is the worst thing to
do. So the church hated him for a long time. This is how I defended my client Sir Isaac Newton.

Gender Roles And Social Norms
The media is currently largely responsible in creating and reminding people of the existence of
gender roles and social norms, which consequently influences children. Aside from media, parents
are the most responsible in the upbringing of their child. That being said, parents can choose to
control what they teach their child and steer them away from the societal norms of certain gender
roles, but they don t have control over the media s content. Sometimes, parents can t help if they
give their daughter a Barbie doll and their son a Batman action figure, because they don t realize
it and they themselves were raised to understand that girls are supposed to like this and do that and
boys are supposed to like that and do this. It s all a chain... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When it comes to advertisements promoting certain toys and products to children, companies are
not afraid to advertise gender targeted products, because they know children are vulnerable. A
2017 study report titled Gendered Advertising to Children: An Analysis of Differences in Male
and Female Targeted Television Commercials written by Meredith Ford mentioned that, When
children realize that the toys they see advertised are only meant for one gender, they latch on to
that group of children and do not socialize with the other gender. This sets a detrimental precedent
for child development and socialization skills. When children are exposed to media at a young
age, their brains first start to develop and they learn to adapt to their environment. As soon as the
child is fully developed, however, there is no way of causing them to forget what they learned or
were surrounded with whether it was something good or bad. Additionally, and interestingly,
children are capable without even realizing that they are pushing themselves away from the other
gender because they were vulnerable to learn from the media that their gender is only supposed to
like what they are advertising and not the other genders products. Sure they may come to the
realization that some of the

Executive Order 12898
The prevalence of environmental issues in the public awareness reached a point where
government was forced to take action in 1979. When Henry Love abandoned construction of a
canal in New York in 1920, the site was bought by Hooker Chemical and used as a toxic
chemical waste dumping site for the next 33 years (Schons 2011). Then in 1953 Hooker
Chemical sold the Love Canal to the school board, and construction of a school began. In the mid
to late 1970s, when children s shoes began melting to the ground and children got sick the
residents organized and protested. Media coverage increased and showed toxic black sludge oozing
into people s basements (Schons 2011). The lack of awareness of environmental and health

The order also established an Interagency Working Group on Environmental Justice (Bernier, C. J.

National Environmental Policy Act of 1969 promoting environmental justice awareness in all US

Figurative Language, Tone, And Characterization Of African...
In our society, specifically the south, African American men are constantly viewed with negative
connotations. It is so disturbing to know our society has molded our minds into believing this
misconception. This fallacy originated from generational hate that has been in existence since
slavery, and is apparent in many forms of African American literature. Black Men in a Public Space
did a phenomenal job of depicting the negative connotations presented to black men in the south. As
I read the literature, it allowed me to picture these senseless acts and sympathize with African
American males. I noticed Staples brought to his readers attention that despite class, race, and
gender of a black man, he would be viewed with adverse connotations.... Show more content on

Staples is implying that hikers avail cowbells to let bears know they are in the area. In his case,
he is the hiker, the bears are those who are fearful of Staples, and the cowbell represents actions
that he might do aware people of his presence. Due to this notion of black men being so dangerous ,
they feel as though they must conform to this strange reality to make others feel less endangered
and/or comfortable especially in the south. And yet words on a parchment would not be enough to
deliver slaves from bondage, or provide men and women of every color and creed their full rights
and obligations as citizens of the United State (Obama). President Obama notably avowed this idea
of oppression being embedded in our Constitution. Obama s statement applied figurative language
that presents equality contradictions in the Constitution. It confirms that though we have been
granted lawful freedom, it does not dismantle the inequality that is already institutionalized.
Though, there are a few approaches for black men to dodge the system. For instance, O.J.
Simpson was not viewed as an African American just an American up until he was accused of a
crime. O.J. Simpson was only considered an American until the time of his trial because he did not
associate with many people of color, avoided speaking on topics concerning the black community,

Miscarriage Is The Most Common Complication Of Pregnancy
Introduction
Miscarriage is the most common complication of pregnancy in the United States, occurring in 15
20% of clinically recognized pregnancies, or ~1,000,000 cases annually. Despite its frequency, the
majority of Americans believe that it is a rare complication occurring in 5% or fewer of all
pregnancies. Miscarriage can be an unexpected and emotionally devastating diagnosis for patients
and their partners with studies showing that some women may suffer from psychological morbidity
for months after the miscarriage and even into subsequent pregnancies. Our recent study revealed

of their own loss on the publics perception of miscarriages.
Materials and Methods
A 19 item survey was constructed to assess the effect of public figures revelation of their loss on
public perceptions of miscarriage. Miscarriage was defined as a pregnancy loss occurring earlier
than 20 weeks. Four additional items (for a total of 27) were directed to those reporting a personal
history of miscarriage and four additional items were specifically for those reporting recent
awareness of celebrity loss. Both men and women were included in the survey.
The survey was posted online using crowdsourcing web service Amazon.com Inc s MTurk. The

The Significance of the Storm in A Tale of Two Cities by...
A Tale of Two Cities, a book written by Charles Dickens in 1859, describes the situation of
France and the French Revolution. At the end of Chapter Six, Dr. Manette, Lucie Manette,
Charles Darnay, Sydney Carton, and Miss Pross are at a Tea Party. A turbulent storm occurs and
incites an eerie mood within the characters. Charles Darnay starts telling a story about a paper he
found. After telling the story, Dr. Manette begins to feel ill. Following this is a section which
contains multiple literary elements. In Chapter Six, Dickens utilizes descriptive literary devices,
such as imagery, personification, and anaphora, to foretell the French Revolution and set the
mood of the passage. The use of suspenseful imagery allows for a descriptive foreshadow of the
French Revolution. At the end of the chapter, Dickens compares people to the storm by showing
a crowd of people with its rush and roar, bearing down upon them too (109). The Third Estate is
depicted as rowdy and very thundering by means of their rush and roar. If the people linger to this
extent for a Revolution, this rowdiness can cause a massive war. Soon enough there was a great
hurry in the streets, people speeding away to get shelter before the storm broke (107). The storm,
being synonymous with the Revolution, will cause a great hurry to the Third Estate due to their
unpreparedness. Civilians, speeding away, try to get to shelter before the revolution starts to
become too brutal. In the night a storm of thunder

The mission statement should also be used to troubleshoot behavior, by asking students if their
behavior agrees with the expectations in mission statement. Give appropriate expectations so
goals are attainable. When goals are reached, teachers should acknowledge the achievement and

different ways, making individual goals just as important as goals set for the class. Responsibility
is a goal all teachers have for their students and as such a goal is reached, students should be given

Dance Monologue
For as long as I can remember, I have always been fascinated with dance, especially ballet. As a
child I would stand in front of the TV, watching ballerinas in tutus twirl across the stage, attempting
to copy their leaps and pirouettes. I dreamed about the possibility of that dancer being me one day.
I had no idea how much that dream would eventually shape my life.
In sixth grade, I began ballet. I had no idea how challenging ballet could be, but I also had no idea
how much I would grow to love it. And that love is what gave me the determination to keep
growing, and keep advancing, no matter how hard it got.
Once I entered high school I would often spend 20+ hours a week at my dance studio teaching
classes, taking as many classes as I could, and training by myself whenever the studio was open. I
joined a dance performance company, and each year I trained for the Royal Academy of Dance
dance examinations. Ballet became a huge part of my life, and it taught me many more lessons than
just how to pliГ© or pirouette. It taught me determination, commitment, and what it means to

Diary of Anne Frank; act II; scene 1; line 158; Anne says: Miep has to run the business and us

family. Furthermore, Miep shows us that even during times of great tragedy, people still thought
about, and did considerate things, for others. They still put their own needs and wants aside to
help others. An example of this is when Miep uses all of her sugar rations to bake a cake for the
annex. In The Diary of Anne Frank, act 2; scene 1; line 25; Mrs. Frank says Thank you, Miepia.

Daemon s Personality And Identity In The Golden Compass
In The Golden Compass, daemons act as an extension or real life manifestation of someone s
consciousness or soul. They take physical form as animals, revealing information about the
character s personality and identity. Daemons are always by your side, basically like wearing
your heart on your sleeve. It is more than just a soul however, a daemon is also like a friend
/extension of yourself that you can talk to as a friend wherever you go. You can talk to your own
daemon like you talk to yourself, so daemons have a very close connection with its owner .
Everyone has one, but children s daemons tend to switch around as they go through puberty, which
is a pretty good representation of how the teenage/child soul can fluctuate wildly at the age period.

Daemons can tell us a lot about someone s personality similar people have similar daemons. For
example, servants have dog daemons, which denotes loyalty. Witches all have bird daemons,
probably because they both fly. We can decipher some underlying information about a character by
examining their daemon, because they are all representative of the consciousness and feelings of
its owner. For example, Mrs. Coulter has a golden monkey for a daemon, which denotes beauty
from the gold, but potentially mischievous intentions from the monkey. Lord Asriel has a snow
leopard for a daemon, which reflects his power, coldness, and potential aggressiveness. The
interaction between two character s daemons can be representative of how those two characters will

Evaluation, Diagnosis, And Therapeutic Interventions
1. The article has discussed only four elements out of five in the given case. The four elements such

A diagnosis is well explained and interventions are also timely scheduled, but there is not enough
information on expected outcomes from each intervention. Intervention: A well designed
therapeutic treatment plan was implemented following thorough examination, evaluation, and
diagnosis. Initially, the patient was given grade IV manual mobilization in the affected
thoracolumbar (T10 to L2 vertebrae) region to reduce the pain and minimize spinal restriction
(Doubleday et al., 2003). Also, the PT added psoas muscle stretching in prone position and pelvis
was stabilized with the mobilization belt. In later visits, the PT added the trunk, abdominal and
lower extremity muscle strengthening exercises in different positions, and balance exercises in
single and double limb standing. 3. Visceral pain originates from the internal body organs such as
respiratory, digestive, urogenital, and endocrine systems, the spleen, the heart, and the great blood

changes in skin, subcutaneous tissues, and muscles, and the symptoms can be itching, dysesthesia,
skin temperature changes, or dry skin (Goodman Snyder, 2013, p.113). Signs and symptoms of

The Political Compass
Politics is intricate and complex, not black or white, therefore deciding where one stands isn t as
simple as being either liberal or conservative . Thus, a more three dimensional approach was
created: The Political Compass. This multifaceted analysis includes not only the traditional
economic stance but a social stance as well. Although someone claims they re a liberal, they might
tend towards communism. With the traditional left or right scale, it would be impossible to know
that; The Political Compass, however, has a dimension for fascism and anarchism along with
communism and neo liberalismwhich would indicate both the economic scale (communism) and
social scale (libertarian). It is also a more accurate way to determine where certain politicians lie.
Take Angela Merkel, Chancellor of Germany. She s a moderate neo liberalist who is neither full
fascist or anarchist. By understanding her policies and background and comparing her to others on
the Political Compass, one can see that this is, in fact, true.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The CDU is a liberal conservative party and those apart of it tend to be center right on the
traditional left right scale. According to The Political Compass, Merkel is pulled more towards
neo liberalism, which means that she supports a free market. The CDU implemented Germany s
Social Market Economy, an economy that doesn t want the government to have complete control
over prices. This shows that Merkel is indeed a more neo liberalist than communist. However,
Germany s current economy still has regulations in place that prevent the market from being
wholly free, which is why Merkel cannot be classified as a full neo liberalist. She also grew up in
East Germany, the section of Germany that was a proponent of communism and was a part of the
Free German youth, a communist organization. In the writer s opinion, this proves that Merkel is

There currently exists some controversy concerning smoking marijuana as a medicine. Many well

marijuana is a safe and effective medicine. A review of the scientific research, expert medical

Energy Is The Biological Conversion Of Plant Energy And...
Carbon is always cycling around the earth, whether it s plants or animals, both require carbon.
Plants get it from taking carbon dioxide from the oxygen that is in the air. Plants then use this and
the sunlight s energy to make food for themselves. Animals get energy by eating the plants or eating
other animals that have eaten those plants. During cell respiration, oxygenand food both provide
energy. Respiration makes then carbon dioxide, which is then put out into the atmosphere. But if
there is too much carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, there needs to be a solution to reduce it so no
harm is caused to the Earth. Photosynthesisis the biological conversion of light energy into
chemical energy. It occurs in green plants and photosynthetic bacteria through a series of many
biochemical reactions (Ensminger,2014). The equation for photosynthesis is 6CO2+6H2O+light
energy в†’ C6H1206+6O2. Cellular Respiration is the process by which organisms combine
oxygen with food stuff molecules, diverting the chemical energy in these substances into life
sustaining processes and discarding, as waste products, carbon dioxide and water (Cell
Respiration,2017). The equation for cellular respiration is C6H1206+6O2 в†’ 6H2O+ 36 ATP.
Photosynthesis are green plant who create their own food and it takes place in the chloroplast of
the plant cells. Cellular Respiration are living things converted into oxygen and also the process

Social Mobility In Sport
Throughout generations, social mobility has become something everyone wants to attain in their
lifetime. Through social mobility comes a better and more stable life. There are many ways to
achieve maximum mobility, which include getting a higher education and reducing risk in your
life. There are also a lot of myths towards this concept that has been portrayed by the media and
one of the myths is the social mobilitygained by a person playing a sport. Americans in today s
world believe that sports are the path we should take to have full financial and social flexibility.
Examples leading to this conclusion are obvious as we see kids from poor areas escalate their
nobility and capital through their abilities to compete in sports. From the million dollar contracts
and endorsement deals, the ideology behind being an athlete is that your social mobility will rise,
but many statistics will prove otherwise. Although it is possible for athletes to gain revenue and
fame, the overall ideology of sports of gaining maximum social flexibility from being involved in a
sport is a myth.
Before continuing about the myths of social mobility and the ideology behind sports, readers
need to be able to understand the true meanings behind these two words. In the book Sport in
Society by Jay Coakley, he begins to define social mobility by stating, Social mobility is regarded
as changes in wealth, education and occupation over a person s lifetime or from one generation to
the next (Coakley

The Beauty Of Art Essay
People have appreciated numerous forms of art over many decades and continue to analyze what
art is and how the aesthetics of it affect viewers. Audiences have gathered to ooh and ahh at art
galleries, musicals, play and ballet performances, and concerts. In fact people even travel long
distances to view world renowned tourist sites, such as the Sistine Chapel. There are billions of
creations and events that are considered art whether that art is valued by a large audience or the
artist alone. Either way, art has become a tremendously significant method of entertainment in the
world today, even if one does not recognize the entertainment as art. My own definition of art is:

The beauty of art varies among individuals, but either way, it is a beautiful thing. Art is meant to
portray a multitude of emotions through words or images and those emotions strongly affect most
people. For example, Joseph M. Martin s song entitled The Awakening features a four part harmony
with lyrics that portray a dream (a nightmare rather) where the world lacks music.
Lyrics:
I dreamed a dream, a silent dream, of a land not far away
Where no bird sang, no steeples rang, and teardrops fell like rain.
I dreamed a dream; a silent dream.
I dreamed a dream of a land so filled with pride
That every song, both weak and strong, withered and died.
I dreamed a dream
No hallelujah; not one hosanna!
No song of love, no lullaby.
And no choir sang to change the world.
No pipers played, no dancers twirled.
I dreamed a dream; a silent dream.
Awake, awake!
Awake, Awake!
Awake my soul and sing, the time for praise has come.
The silence of the night has passed,
A new day has begun!
Let music never die in me;
Forever let my spirit sing!
Wherever emptiness is found let there be joy and glorious sound.
Let music never die in me; forever let my spirit sing!
Let all our voices join as one to praise the giver of the sun!
Awake, awake!
Let music live!

having Deb who is a psychologist speak to us was entirely amazing as I am fascinated with

shame. He also spoke about how it is your choice to admit your sin to God and obtain repentance.
An example that he used was in 2 Samuel 11 and 12 which was when David lusted after
Bathsheba. Bathsheba s husband, Uriah was in David s army and he ended up killing him in a

Importance Of Domestic Commitment

Title
Sometimes, war is inevitable, and nations are forced to fight due to various reasons. This requires
countries to have a strong military which can withstand the forces of other nations. This is
measured mostly in times whereby a nation needs to defend itself from external attacks. Military
personnel and equipment play a significant role in measuring the strength of a nation. Also, another
important parameter is the economy of a country which determines the ability of the government to
channel more funds or resources to the military. These funds are used to pay wages of the armed
forces and purchase sophisticated weapons among others. However, domestic commitment is very
crucial during the times of war. This refers to the general willingness of state s elite population to
settle the costs of war (Lecture Note 5). If the citizens of a country are behind their military and
are ready to finance its operations during the times of war, then the military feel motivated to
defend their country. Also, it ensures that there are enough resources to be used in war. The costs
of war include direct costs, damages, duration, and the necessity of preparation for war. Direct costs
consist of conscription, debt, and taxation. This means that there is a relationship between domestic
commitment and conscription. Therefore, this paper will seek to discuss the significance of
domestic commitment in explaining the

Health And Health Of The World Health Organization Essay
The definition of health according to the World Health Organization is: a state of complete
physical, mental and social well being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity . It is the
goal of health psychologists to identify and understand what determines physical, mental, and social
well being. Rather than focusing on mental illness, it focuses on physical health. The aim of health
psychologyis to promote and maintain health, prevent and treat illness, identify and diagnose the
correlation between health, illness, and dysfunction, and to improve the health care system and the
formation of health policies (Graham, 131).
Personal Interest
The field of health psychology interests me because I have personally seen the effects that
psychological processes have on a person s health and well being. I was a caregiver to a family
member with a chronic health issue called Chronic Regional Pain Syndrome. I witnessed how
stress, negative thinking, and lack of social contact intensified their condition. Their physical health
drastically declined when their mental and emotional health was in a negative place. I noticed how
their depression compounded their pain, and in return, the pain exacerbated their depression. It was
a on going vicious cycle. On the contrary, when they practiced stress relief methods, focused on the
positive things in life, their health improved immensely. Their symptoms improved and they were

Looking at a more practical example before the technical specifications, in 2014, a group of people
from Rocky Mount were conspiring with larger groups to have heroin transported from New Jersey
to Rocky Mount. The United States Attorney stated that local and federal law enforcement was
committed to putting a stop to heroin related charges in the area. When apprehending the
participants, it was considered conspiring to distribute and to possess with the intend to
distribute heroin, a Schedule I substance. This is a violation of Title 21, United States Code,
Sections 841(a)(1) and 846. Title 21 USC 841(a)(1) states, (a) Unlawful acts Except as

to manufacture, distribute, or dispense, or possess with intent to manufacture, distribute, or

subsequent United States Code, 846, concerns the attempt and conspiracy to sell ( 21 U.S.C.
846 attempt and conspiracy, n.d.). Looking at the more technical side of legality more in depth
than related convictions, there is a set standard of penalties regarding Schedule I drugs. All
charges related to heroin, possession or distribution, are felonies. The possession classifies as a
Class I felony and has a potential penalty of six to twelve months in prison, along with fines and
possible loss of license. Heroin distribution of four to fourteen grams is a Class F felony, resulting
in stronger penalties. This penalty equals between seventy and eighty four months, five to seven

Voter Turnout In The United States
Voter participation and turnout is the percentage of eligible voters that vote in elections. The voter
turnout has decreased since the 1960 s. In 2014, the voter turnout during the election season was
the lowest in the history of the United States. That s about 36% of registered to vote individuals

In the United States, campaign financing is financing for electoral campaigns at all governmental
levels (federal, state, and local). The cost for elections steadily rises year after year, making
candidates obligated to accept donations and contributions to their campaign. States regulate
finances and contributions made by setting limits to how much can be received by a certain group

other hand, Li Ning would enter the second tier cities to achieve next phase of growth (Anon, 2012).
To sum up, in internal aspect, Li Ning chooses both entity sales and e commerce sales at home and
abroad. Different focuses are determined due to large name reputation difference. To achieve more
popularity, Li Ning focuses on Olympic Games and sports super stars with different slogans.
Furthermore, in external aspect, facing the customers different consumption views on Chinese
brands domestically and internationally, Li Ning transforms its attention to younger people and set
new different target groups both domestic and foreign. Li Ning has been facing increased
competition with global names and local rivals, and what is why Li Ning determines to slow the
pace of new openings and enter the second tier cities. In future, Li Ning could make greater
breakthrough by implementing brand strategy, constructing international brand image, developing
technology innovation and improving enterprises core competitiveness (Zhang, 2012).

Teaching 1st Grade Students How to Count Rationally to 15
This essay will explore how I would teach a group of 10 first grade students to count rationally to
15 assuming that all of them are already able to count rationally to 10. I shall explain how I would
ensure that students understand each of the four rational counting principles of one to one
correspondence, the stable order rule, the order irrelevance rule, and the cardinality rule. I shall
present an assessment I would use to evaluate student mastery of rational counting to 15. Finally, I
shall discuss how I would adapt my instruction to accommodate English Language Learners (ELL)
and students with learning exceptionalities.
Rational counting means students apply all four ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I shall repeat this several times until I formatively assess students are transitioning smoothly from
one new number word to the next without hesitation.
5)I shall then instruct students to chorally say the numbers in sequence without me modeling as I
point to them in stable order.
6)The final step in establishing the Stable Order Rule will be to repeat each step of this process
starting from the number 1 all the way to 15.
One to One Correspondence would be the next counting principle I would address in the following
manner:
1)I would place 15 dotes on the white board in an evenly spaced horizontal pattern.
2)I would explain to students that it is important to count each dot only once and by touching,
marking, or moving an item as it is being counted will help the person counting not miss an item or
count the same item twice by establishing one to one correspondence.
3)I would verbally model count the dots from left to right pointing to and touching each one as I
said it following the stable order rule.
7)I would then ask students to repeat after me as I slowly count and say each one from one all the
way to 15. This process will be repeated several times until I formatively assess all 10 students are
confidently restating each number name including the new ones.
8)I would then have students count chorally without my modeling as I point to each dot along the
line from left to right in order from the 1st to the 15th. I shall repeat

The Problem Of Reproducing High Dynamic Range
1 ABSTRACT The problem of reproducing high dynamic range images on devices with
restricted dynamic range has gained a lot of interest in the computer graphics community. In this
paper, new adjustment tone mapping method is presented for displaying high dynamic range
image on low dynamic range device without any lose in image details and preserves image
contrast. Instead of linearly scaling the luminance of all pixels or introduce local gamma
correction with adaptive parameters for all pixels, the paper core idea is using linear operator in
specific pixels and using nonlinear operator in another pixels according to guidance map. The
optimal compression can п¬Ѓnally be achieved by solving the optimization problem that integrates
all window based constraints which can be transformed to a sparse linear equation. 2
INTRODUCTION High dynamic range is a digital photography technique that collect multiple
exposures of the same scene where captured with different exposure settings and merged using
image editing camera software to create a more realistic image called HDR images. The dynamic
range of a scene, image or imaging device is defined as the ratio of the highest to the lowest
luminance or signal level. High dynamic range image can capture great dynamic rage that
represents the whole tonal range of real world scenes. HDR image is encoded in a format that
allows the largest range of values using floating point values stored with 32 bits per color channel,
but the modern

These are the words that came out of David Stern, the National Basketball Association (NBA) commissioner s mouth when the Chicago Bulls drafted Michael Jordan who would grow up to be one of the best basketball players ever. He solidified himself as a basketball star in college after committing to the University of North Carolina, earning the starting spot on the team as a freshman, and winning an NCAA championship after a tough high school career. Jordan is considered one of the best basketball players ever due to his awing talent and determination throughout his NBA career. When he entered the NBA, the Bulls were one of the worst teams in the NBA. As a rookie, Jordan turned the Bulls into a playoff team. Michael far exceeded anything imagined. Jordan instantly established himself as a first rate scorer who could rebound, pass, and play ferocious defense (Minsky 110). For his unbelievable season, Jordan was awarded the NBA Rookie of the Year. In the next season, the Bulls made the playoffs again, even with Michael sidelined for sixty games with a broken foot. In the playoffs, Jordan was cleared to play five minutes, but ended up playing a lot more than that. He set a playoff record with sixty three points in a game, and he amazingly did this while he was just getting over a broken foot. His victory was all the more sweet for the adversity he had encountered along the way, including his annual frustration in the playoffs and the criticism he regularly received in the media. Still, Michael s unbending passion made him a hero to most fans (Minsky 115). This quote is saying that after he won his first NBA championship, it was even better for everyone because of the criticism he was facing for losing in the playoffs for a few years before that year. He would go on to win six NBA championships, five Most Valuable Player (MVP) awards, and two Olympic gold medals in his amazing ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Music, Pop, By Mehgan Perine From classical music, to pop, to a few selections of musical theatre music, Mehgan Perine surely delivered an outstanding performance at her senior recital. On Monday May 16, many of Mehgan s beloved family members, peers, and friends all came out to support her at the Covina Center of the Performing Arts to watch her perfectly roll out a beautiful recital. A senior recital that included many types of music genres, and even an Italian aria. Perine is only eighteen years old and she was the only student at the School of Arts and Enterprise to be selected to perform a senior recital. Her talent, grades, and personality got her to where she is today. Perine did bring an amazing overall performance to the stage by tying in everything in her vocal talents with posture and breathing, diction, tone and registration, and performance etiquette. During the performance Perine sang a total of 12 solo songs and a duet. During the entirety of the show Perine showed excellence in her posture and breathing. She stood in a all black dress for the entire show. She was never slouching her shoulders, her knees were never locked, and she stood tall and confident. At moments, the audience could not comment on her posture because she would walk around the stage to give the show a more alive feeling. Her breathing was excellent also. Throughout most of the show many were impressed that she did not breath a lot from her chest. The audience, could more than likely tell that she was breathing ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Imperialism In Rwanda Since its joining of the UN on September 18, 1962, Rwanda has long been active in the field of international politics. Rwanda was a Belgian colony. The population of this little East African nation is divided into two ethnic groups, The Hutu majority, and the Tutsi minority. Conflict caused a power struggle between these two parties and has plagued the nation for a good portion of the twentieth century. During Belgian occupation, the Belgians relied upon the Tutsis to govern the nation, as their skin was lighter and heads were physically larger. This would soon stern great strife, as in 1959, both sides began to demand more political independence and war broke out. Hundreds of thousands of Tutsis were killed, and many more fled to neighboring... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... They commended the parties for finding value and diplomacy and for seeking peaceful political solutions. However strenuous it may seem, that was evident in July, when the parties agreed to extend the period of the negotiations for another four months to give themselves more time to close the underlying gaps. They have continued the talks on P5+1 Iran s nuclear program. The representatives of those countries are negotiating a comprehensive plan of action that, once implemented, would ensure that Iran does not acquire a nuclear weapon and that Iran s nuclear program is exclusively peaceful. They seek to finalize such arrangements by 24 November of this year. Hopefully the negotiation goes well. In the meantime, the Council and its Iran Sanctions Committee must ensure the continued implementation of United Nations sanctions. We have been troubled to hear reports of confusion as to whether the sanctions remain in effect during the period of negotiations. Although the P5+1 offered Iran some limited and reversible sanctions relief as part of the joint plan of action, the plan included no changes to United Nations sanctions. The role of the 1737 Committee in support of the P5+1 process is vital to its success. • 5. Tristan And Isolde Essay In Tristan, by Gottfried Von Strassburg, Tristan and Isolde s love is best characterized as being moral and immoral at the same time. This paradoxical feature is indivisible to their relationship and it appears in various incidents, for example, when Isolde receives the ordeal of hot red iron and when Isolde and Tristan lie together in a cave with a sword between them. In Chapter 23, in order to prove her innocence and to end the rumor in the court, Isolde has to accept Bishop s suggestion for an ordeal of hot red iron. She fears her reputation and honor will be ruined at once and she is also troubled by the fact that she needs to come up with a plot to whitewash her falseness (246). She confides all these secret struggles to God and she finds her way through praying and fasting. Isolde does not feel bad about her immoral love with Tristan; ... Through the window, he finds his wife and nephew well away from each other, one on one side, the other on the other, with the naked sword between them (272). Tristan and Isolde seem to be so innocent, however, they hide their guilt in deep as this is another plot to cover their immoral love. The virtuous act is indeed immoral because it hides their intimate relationship. Tristan proposes this plan out of constant fear that someone might discover their relationship. Isolde adopts the plan as neither does she want it to happen. In fact, the two enjoy their time together very much. • 7. Jackie Robinson Broke Baseball s Color Barrier Jackie Robinson During the 1940 s, the African Americans were segregated from the Whites in America. White people in America had a lot more advantages or opportunities. Up until when Jackie Robinson potentially brought the two races together, many signs of hatred were shown on the African Americans. They had separate schools, restaurants, and transportation systems. Nobody ever thought that the two races would be integrated one day. Predictably, life at this time was not very easy for African Americans. Civil Rights activists, though, were determined to change the way African Americans were treated. In November of 1945, Jackie Robinson broke baseball s color barrier becoming the first African Americanto play Major League Baseball. Robinson made his first appearance playing for Brooklyn Dodgers. People were at first skeptical about letting an African American into the sport. Branch Rickey, the Dodgers general manager, ignored the skepticism and gave robinson the go ahead to join his team. Soon they realized that a new era in our country has begun. Jackie Robinson entered the league reluctant to know about the hate that he would get but left one of the greatest players in the sport for not only his talent but what he did for the country. This opened the sport and many other things for the African American race. It is so disturbing to know our society has molded our minds into believing this misconception. Black Men in a Public Space did a phenomenal job of depicting the negative connotations presented to black men in the south. At the end of Chapter Six, Dr. Manette, Lucie Manette, Charles Darnay, Sydney Carton, and Miss Pross are at a Tea Party. A turbulent storm occurs and incites an eerie mood within the characters. Charles Darnay starts telling a story about a paper he found. After telling the story, Dr. Manette begins to feel ill. Following this is a section which contains multiple literary elements. In Chapter Six, Dickens utilizes descriptive literary devices, such as imagery, personification, and anaphora, to foretell the French Revolution and set the mood of the passage. The use of suspenseful imagery allows for a descriptive foreshadow of the French Revolution. At the end of the chapter, Dickens compares people to the storm by showing a crowd of people with its rush and roar, bearing down upon them too (109). The Third Estate is depicted as rowdy and very thundering by means of their rush and roar. If the people linger to this extent for a Revolution, this rowdiness can cause a massive war. Soon enough there was a great hurry in the streets, people speeding away to get shelter before the storm broke (107). Many well intentioned leaders and members of the public have been misled by the well financed and organized pro drug legalization lobby into believing there is merit to their argument that smoking marijuana is a safe and effective medicine. A review of the scientific research, expert medical testimony, and government agency findings shows this to be erroneous. There is no justification for using marijuana as a medicine. These organizations have little medical expertise and favor various forms of legalizing illicit drugs. Pro legalization organizations have admitted that their strategy to legalize marijuana begins with legitimizing smoking marijuana as a medicine. • 27. Energy Is The Biological Conversion Of Plant Energy And... Carbon is always cycling around the earth, whether it s plants or animals, both require carbon. Plants get it from taking carbon dioxide from the oxygen that is in the air. Plants then use this and the sunlight s energy to make food for themselves. Animals get energy by eating the plants or eating other animals that have eaten those plants. During cell respiration, oxygenand food both provide energy. Respiration makes then carbon dioxide, which is then put out into the atmosphere. But if there is too much carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, there needs to be a solution to reduce it so no harm is caused to the Earth. Photosynthesisis the biological conversion of light energy into chemical energy. It occurs in green plants and photosynthetic bacteria through a series of many biochemical reactions (Ensminger,2014). The equation for photosynthesis is 6CO2+6H2O+light energy в†’ C6H1206+6O2. Cellular Respiration is the process by which organisms combine oxygen with food stuff molecules, diverting the chemical energy in these substances into life sustaining processes and discarding, as waste products, carbon dioxide and water (Cell Respiration,2017). The equation for cellular respiration is C6H1206+6O2 в†’ 6H2O+ 36 ATP. Photosynthesis are green plant who create their own food and it takes place in the chloroplast of the plant cells. • 29. Social Mobility In Sport Throughout generations, social mobility has become something everyone wants to attain in their lifetime. Through social mobility comes a better and more stable life. There are many ways to achieve maximum mobility, which include getting a higher education and reducing risk in your life. There are also a lot of myths towards this concept that has been portrayed by the media and one of the myths is the social mobilitygained by a person playing a sport. Americans in today s world believe that sports are the path we should take to have full financial and social flexibility. Examples leading to this conclusion are obvious as we see kids from poor areas escalate their nobility and capital through their abilities to compete in sports. From the million dollar contracts and endorsement deals, the ideology behind being an athlete is that your social mobility will rise, but many statistics will prove otherwise. Although it is possible for athletes to gain revenue and fame, the overall ideology of sports of gaining maximum social flexibility from being involved in a sport is a myth. Before continuing about the myths of social mobility and the ideology behind sports, readers need to be able to understand the true meanings behind these two words. In the book Sport in Society by Jay Coakley, he begins to define social mobility by stating, Social mobility is regarded as changes in wealth, education and occupation over a person s lifetime or from one generation to the next (Coakley ... Lyrics: I dreamed a dream, a silent dream, of a land not far away Where no bird sang, no steeples rang, and teardrops fell like rain. I dreamed a dream; a silent dream. I dreamed a dream of a land so filled with pride That every song, both weak and strong, withered and died. I dreamed a dream No hallelujah; not one hosanna! No song of love, no lullaby. And no choir sang to change the world. No pipers played, no dancers twirled. I dreamed a dream; a silent dream. Awake, awake! Awake, Awake! Awake my soul and sing, the time for praise has come. The silence of the night has passed, A new day has begun! Let music never die in me; Forever let my spirit sing! Wherever emptiness is found let there be joy and glorious sound. Let music never die in me; forever let my spirit sing!

Bathsheba s husband, Uriah was in David s army and he ended up killing him in a way. • 33. Importance Of Domestic Commitment Seungmin Bang (A98407092) POLI 142 K Professor Magana September 6, 2017 Title Sometimes, war is inevitable, and nations are forced to fight due to various reasons. This requires countries to have a strong military which can withstand the forces of other nations. This is measured mostly in times whereby a nation needs to defend itself from external attacks. Military personnel and equipment play a significant role in measuring the strength of a nation. Also, another important parameter is the economy of a country which determines the ability of the government to channel more funds or resources to the military. These funds are used to pay wages of the armed forces and purchase sophisticated weapons among others. However, domestic commitment is very crucial during the times of war. This refers to the general willingness of state s elite population to settle the costs of war (Lecture Note 5). If the citizens of a country are behind their military and are ready to finance its operations during the times of war, then the military feel motivated to defend their country. Also, it ensures that there are enough resources to be used in war. The costs of war include direct costs, damages, duration, and the necessity of preparation for war. Direct costs consist of conscription, debt, and taxation. This means that there is a relationship between domestic commitment and conscription. The Problem Of Reproducing High Dynamic Range 1 ABSTRACT The problem of reproducing high dynamic range images on devices with restricted dynamic range has gained a lot of interest in the computer graphics community. In this paper, new adjustment tone mapping method is presented for displaying high dynamic range image on low dynamic range device without any lose in image details and preserves image contrast. Instead of linearly scaling the luminance of all pixels or introduce local gamma correction with adaptive parameters for all pixels, the paper core idea is using linear operator in specific pixels and using nonlinear operator in another pixels according to guidance map. The optimal compression can п¬Ѓnally be achieved by solving the optimization problem that integrates all window based constraints which can be transformed to a sparse linear equation. 2 INTRODUCTION High dynamic range is a digital photography technique that collect multiple exposures of the same scene where captured with different exposure settings and merged using image editing camera software to create a more realistic image called HDR images. The dynamic range of a scene, image or imaging device is deп¬Ѓned as the ratio of the highest to the lowest luminance or signal level.
