Ethanol or as we know as alcohol in our beverages can be made from any fruit or vegetable that
performs photosynthesis which produces glucose shown As required as the reactant of the previous
equations.
Balanced chemical equation for Photosynthesis:
6CO2 + 6H2O пѓ C6H12O6 + 6O2 (light energy is used as a catalyst in this equation)
Balanced chemical equation for the fermentation of glucose to ethanol:
C6H12O6(aq) пѓ 2C2H5OH(l) + 2CO2(g) (yeast acts as a catalyst in this reaction.)
As the diagram on the right displays, one molecule of Glucose produces two molecules of carbon
dioxide and two molecules of ethanol. The fermentation of glucose to ethanol is only possible if
oxygen is absent otherwise instead of producing ethanol and carbon dioxide, lactic acid is produced
instead.
The first part of the breakdown of glucose is known as Glycolysis, in which one molecule of
glucose is broken down to two molecules of pyruvate (C3H4O3). The second part is the
fermentation process in which the two pyruvate molecules are converted to two molecules of
ethanol and two molecules of carbon dioxide.
PART B
i. Ethanol is considered as a alternative fuel at a lower cost level in relation to gasoline. It is
produced by fermenting sugars from a range of feedstock such as wheat and corn. Ethanol is
blended with gasoline from E10 (5% ethanol 95% gasoline) to E85 (85% ethanol 15% gasoline).

The United States Prison Population
The United States prison population has grown tremendously from approximately 500,000 to 2.3
million people in just three decades. We (U.S) spend almost $70 billion annually to place adults in
prison and jails, to confine youth in detention centers, and to supervise 7.3 million individuals on
probation and parole. California has the largest prisonpopulation in the country, with more than
170,000 individuals behind bars. In Los Angeles, more than half of current parolees live in
neighborhoods that are home to less than 20 percent of the city s adult residents. More than a
billion dollars are spent every year to incarcerate people from these communities. At the same
time, as of spring 2010, the Los Angeles Unified School District was projecting a deficit of $640
million in the 2010 11 academic year. As a result, district officials were planning to raise class
sizes and lay off thousands of teachers and other school based staff.
40% of students expelled from schools each year are black.
70% of students are involved in in school arrest.
2 x black and latino students are twice as likely to not graduate than white students
68% of all males in federal prison do not have a high school diploma
The yearly cost to incarcerate one child is $88,000 and the yearly cost of public education for one
child is $10,600
The school to prison pipeline is exactly how it sounds it is a system that pushes students out of

Conservation Is The Greatest Economic Value For The...
Conserve today, to create a better tomorrow. Conservation is needed to protect, improve, and use
our natural resources wisely, so we can have the greatest economic value for the present and
future. As citizens of Southwest, Kansas, it is our duty to conserve water for the current and
future use of agriculture, municipalities, oil, and gas fields. My family and I have lived on the
Cimarron River for the past 20 years. My parents drilled their own house well in 1992. Today,
the water level in our house well is marginal, and will only last ten more years before we have to
drill deeper. As our water is non renewable, we may not find anything when we do drill deeper. It
would be devastating to think my family would have to move from Southwest, Kansas. In the
near future, we may find that water is priced as high as gasoline or even gold. Without water we
will not have people around to plant and harvest crops much less water those plants. It is a
vicious cycle and drastic changes need to be made now. In order to fix this problem, we must
conserve water. The consequences of not having use of the Ogallala aquifer for the agricultural,
municipal, oil, and gas industries. Agriculture. Lack of water results in a lack of corn, which
would drive up the cost of beef, pork, and milk. Commercial livestock facilities use tens of
thousands of gallons a day. A feedlot or dairy having 1,000 head of cattle consumes 10,000 gallons
of water per day; that amounts to 70,000 gallons

Osteopathy Research Paper
The impact that a badly sleeping baby has on its parents is, in one word, draining. Tired parents
who try to continue to function normally while go about their daily tasks often resemble cast
members from the Walking Dead zombie television show. There are a number of reasons why
your baby may not be sleeping well. If you have ruled out medical issues with your paediatrician,
an osteopath who is experienced in cranial manipulation should be next on your list to investigate.
While putting your baby s head in a stranger s hands may immediately raise concern, there is a
good reason why they can help your baby sleep better at night. What Is Osteopathy? Osteopathy is
the branch of medicine that deals with your musculoskeletal framework. This includes the spine,
your muscles and all of the little joints between your bones. The goal of an osteopath is to treat
aches and pains that resonate from your... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
What Does Cranial Osteopathy Have To Do With Babies? Childbirth is a vigorous process for
both mother and child, and sometimes during childbirth a baby s skull or spine can be pushed
slightly out of alignment during the birthing process. This bad alignment can lead to breathing
problems, body pain, and what appears to be a cranky child who has issues sleeping. The lack of
sleeping, however, can instead be attributed to the fact your child is hurting while they are trying to
sleep, and no matter how they try, they cannot get comfortable. Because a baby s skull and bones
remain soft during the months following birth, an osteopath can use manipulation techniques to
realign the skull bones or the spine to their correct position. This relieves the pain your baby is
feeling, and that, in turn, leads to more sleep time because they are now comfortable when lying

The Invention Of Printing Press
In 1440, for too many people was the year of change in the global communication. It was during
this time in Mainz, Germany that a goldsmith s Johannes Gutenberg created one of the most
important machines during the modern period: the printing press. The printing press was inspired
by earlier uses found in China and Japan as early as the 7th century. In this time the way to print
was using the method of block printing, which was a piece of wood used to print a specific piece of
text. ( Patterns for )
With the Gutenberg invention the revolution had begun. It advanced the process of movable type
further, and started a new era of printing called typography. The typography allowed information to

User Interface )
The templates are essential in mobile design. It helps to the designer to create layouts based on
cultural norms of reading and how people process information. The templates that are used across
a product, on most every page of a website or application, we call a wrapper because they enclose
(wrap around) all the other components and the content. Also there are some patterns based on how
the human mind processes pattern, objects, and information. ( User Interface )
Scroll bars when information on a page exceeds the viewport, a scroll bar control may be required
to access the additional information. Scrolling of information should almost always occur along
one axis, except in rare cases. ( Patterns for )
The problem can be more information in the page or element than can fit in the viewport. You have
to provide a method to access this information.
The solution for mobiles will be to display them to indicate the scrollable axes, and the relative
position within the scrollable area.
Whenever possible, you should make sure scrolling takes place on a single axis. This is why the
whole set of patterns based around vertical scroll exist. When the situation demands, such as for
zooming in to content which otherwise fits the area, you can also offer a secondary scroll axis.
Keep the secondary axis in mind throughout the design process because

Climate Change Is A Hot Topic
Climate change is a hot topic (pun intended), with supporters on both sides. Some claim that
climate change is a hoax, while others agree that it is happening. I believe it is important to
understand that the earth s climate does naturally go through cycles look at our geological history
of ice ages and hothouses but also recognize that human activity has greatly advanced the rate at
which our planet is warming.
The planet naturally goes through periods of extreme cooling and heating. That s why we have
had multiple periods of ice age (when polar ice grows far beyond its normal range) and the
opposite, hothouse periods (when all the polar ice melts). Currently, we are in an interglacial
period (when it s not too hot nor too cold). Interglacial periods are best for human life because our
bodies have not evolved to withstand radical high or low temperatures.
Ever since man began to shift from a nomadic hunter gatherer society to an agrarian society, we
have been gradually using more and more of the earth s natural resources with little thought of the
consequences. Britain began its age of exploration because they sought more land to provide them
with more natural resources as they had exhausted most of what they previously had. When Britain
colonized territory here in North America, they once again had an unlimited supply of huge trees
to make large navy ships, and land to grow crops such as tobacco. This began rapid deforestation
that still has not stopped. As the

The Value Of A Life

The Value of a Life Countries less privileged than America face the reoccurring issue of being
taken advantage of. This occurs because these countries have high unemployment rates and are
in poverty so they are given jobs through American factories. This process, though, is not always
a fair one. Haiti and China are both countries with bad labor regulations, usually by American
influence, and this hurts the welfare of these countries as a whole, the individuals in these
countries, and the morality of America. Dupuy (2014) writes that Haiti s people, trapped
working in factories for cheap labor, are faced with a hard life and various brutalities. Both
adults and children must live these lives of horrible situations where they have no other choice
than to work at extremely low wages because of Haiti s poverty levels. Whether they are sent
away from their families to live in the city, in order to have a better life, or they re born poor and
go to the city to work everyday, these people do not live a good life. The children who work have
long hours, usually from early dawn until night, and go home, sometimes only to be abused.
(Dupuy, 2014). These conditions are put onto lonely, young, and exhausted children who are not
living with their families. But these conditions of long work hours in Haiti do not only apply to
children, but also young people and middle aged, too (Shah, 1998). The United States

Weaknesses Of A Project
Weaknesses: There were also two key weaknesses to my project that I wish I could have
remedied at some point throughout the project. The first was that my project is focused on
something that makes it difficult to see the direct impact or to quantify. When evaluating the
project I had to rely on teacher feedback and will have to wait to see about standardized testing
data for those that attended my sessions and tried their own small groups. This means that the
results take a while to show up and that directly linking a student s standardized testing score to
small group or conferring would be extremely difficult to do. Thus, it is not a project that will stand
out as one that causes large gains in student achievement only because it is nearly impossible to
gather the data that proves the correlation due to the number of variables.... Show more content on

The vast majority said they wanted more time learning about the tools I mentioned in my
presentation. This is something I discussed with my instructional coach as a possibility for next
year s professional development days that are built in throughout our school year. She mentioned
that in a survey the instructional coaches recently did that she noticed a similar trend that teachers
wanted more time to work with creating instructional tools. By focusing on the tools used in
small groups it would allow this project to continue into next year and would continue to help
foster student growth and independence. It would also help teachers to find time to create the
tools necessary to feel confident going into a small group and would hopefully ensure
collaboration across teachers, grade levels, or even the district because if this work was done
during a professional development day then there would be more opportunity to share the workload
and to bring together minds to create the best tools possible to promote student

The 4-Th Amendments Of The Fourth Amendment And The 4th...
The house of every one is to him as his castle and fortress, as well for his defense against injury
and violence as for his repose (Coke, 1604). This statement was written by an English barrister,
judge and the greatest jurist of the Elizabethan and Jacobean eras. These powerful words value
the 4 th amendment. The fourth amendment is one of the important sections in the Bill of
Rights which helps people to secure and protect their houses, papers and persons from officers
who abuse their authority. When America was a Britain colony , justices of the peace were
writing laws in order to help people earn money on customs. This political process was possible
only through a general warrant which allowed free searches and seizures to happen. It means
officers could search a suspected place without any evidences. Also, they could even to seize you
without reasons. However, in 1756 some towns like Massachusetts turned this tricky law into new
one, which prohibited the general warrant. This rule allowed citizens to live and work in peace.
Later, such movements caused to addition of The Fourth... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

plain view and in open fields such as pastures, parks, woods are also included in this list.
However, it is allowed as the evidence when lawlessness of object is obvious and valid. For
instance, in the case of Oliver v. United States, two Kentucky State police officers ignored no
trespassing sign and got inside defendant s field. Nearly to the defendant s house the officers found
a marijuana crop. At trial the defendant could not prove the violation of the Fourth Amendment as
searches in open fields are lawful based on The Fourth Amendment. According to the Supreme
Court open fields cannot support a reasonable expectation of privacy and are thus not protected by

Civilized, Sense And Sensibility, By Jane Austen
Enjoyable, civilized Sense and Sensibility was the first and one of Jane Austen s novels; she wrote
it in 1795, but it was not published for 16 years. It was written by a young woman who ostensibly
had little experience of the world although her fiction proves she missed the little that occurred on
her domestic stage and the story reflects that orientation, as a mother and her three daughters wait
passively while all the interesting men in the vicinity disappear on unexplained missions to London.
In a modern story, the women would have demanded explanations. What gives Sense and Sensibility
its tension and mystery are that the characters rarely say what they mean. There is great gossip
within the women s sphere, but with men. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Edward leaves suddenly for London. The next man to appear is Col. Brandon, played by that
indispensable Alan Rickman. He is attracted to Marianne, but before he can act, she is smitten by
the dashing Willoughby (Greg Wise), who rescues her from a mishap and charms her off her feet.
No sooner have these men appeared when they, too, are called away to London although not before
Col. Brandon has suggested, almost by osmosis, that he knows something unspeakable about his
rival Willoughby.
His secret is the sort of thing that would not be a secret long in the modern age, but in Austen s
time, such things were not spoken of, and Brandon might even allow Marianne to make a disastrous
marriage rather than tell her what her maidenly ears should never hear. This maddening, intriguing
inability to simply blurt out the truth is indispensable to 19th century fiction, and I find it
enormously satisfying. Better the character who leaves us to guess at unspeakable depths than one
who bores us with confessional psychobabble.
The men s departure to London leaves the three daughters and their mother facing an indefinite
future in their sewing circle. So, when a kindly relative proposes a visit to London, they seize
upon it with desperation, and it is there that secrets are revealed and alliances are smashed or
formed. The screenplay, adapted from Austen by Emma Thompson, takes wicked delight

The Theory Of Attachment Theory Essay
B1/A2/A*1 John Bowlby s attachment theory is a positive aspect to this transition as the child are
likely to gain secure attachments with their key worker which enables them to work closely with
each other, this then allows the child to be more comfortable with any support they receive
throughout the process, however the child may become too attached to their key worker and may
face issues later when the times comes for them to separate therefore it is important for children to
spend time with other members of staff. Children can be attached to other practitioners other than
their key worker so it is important for both to communicate to ensure that the key worker knows
everything about the child and keep on track with any paperwork they have to complete about the
child and keep track of the child s progress and development. I think that Bowlby attachment theory
is important within this transition as the child going into care needs a secure attachment to
someone as the attachment to their parents will be disrupted and the child needs someone for
support especially a child of this age. The child can make an attachment to their foster carer
however this also may be difficult if the child is in temporary foster care and are removed from
care, this may cause the child distress as all the attachments they have made are being disrupted.
There are many criticism of Bowlby s theory, one of these are that Bowlby believed that Bowlby
suggested that a child would initially form only

Weapons Training Bruce Dawe Analysis
Bruce Dawe, a famous Australian poet born in 1930, in Geelong; writes about his war experience
in the Vietnam War and utilises a variety of imagery and literary techniques to express his anti war
sentiment in both Weapons Training and Homecoming . Weapons Training written in 1970,
involves a dramatic monologue of a drill sergeant; training recruits who are about to be sent to the
VietnamWar. Homecoming written by Dawe two years earlier was written as a requiem for
anonymous soldiers, protesting towards Australia s involvement in the Vietnam War during the
1960s.

The Importance Of Chons
In Egyptian mythology, Chons (alternately Khensu, Khons, Khonsu or Khonshu) is an ancient
lunar deity, from before formal structure was given to a pantheon. His name reflects the fact that
the Moon (referred to as Iah in Egyptian) travels across the night sky, for it means The Wanderer,
and also had the titles Embracer, Pathfinder, and Defender, as he was thought to watch over night
travelers. As the godof light in the night, Chons was invoked to protect against wild animals,
increase male virility, and to aid with healing. It was said that when Chons caused the crescent
moon to shine, women conceived, cattle became fertile, and all nostrils and every throat was filled
with fresh air.
Chons can also be understood to mean king s placenta, and consequently in early times, he was
considered to slay the king s (i.e. the pharaoh s) enemies, and extract their innards for the king s
use, metaphorically creating something resembling a placenta for the king. This bloodthirsty
aspect leads him to be referred to, in such as the Pyramid texts, as the (one who) lives on hearts.
He also became associated with more literal placentas, becoming seen as a deification of the royal
placenta, and so a god involved with childbirth. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Fate In Joseph Campbell s The Alchemist
Many people live their lives believing that their lives are driven by fate; that their hopes and
dreams ultimately have no impact on how their lives will turn out. This, however, does not hold
true when one considers the paths taken by those who follow their own dreams and desires.
When one examines the lives of people and characters who follow their dreams, one can realize
that life is not guided by fate, but by the desires of one s heart. In The Alchemist, Santiago s life
is guided by his dreams and desires, not his fate. In the beginning of the novel, Santiago was
studying to be a priest, but he forgoes his education in order to follow his dream of traveling the
world. Though many as a foolish decision would have seen this, as priests were well respected and
shepherds were not, Santiago does as he desires, not what he is told will be the most advantageous.
Throughout his travels, Santiago encounters many people who... Show more content on

Though he spends a relatively short amount of time discussing fate, the words spoken by Campbell
speak volumes. As he tells Bill Moyers, The influence of the dominant divinity in my mind will be
what determines my decision (Campbell 166). Though this statement does not explicitly mention
fate, its presence in this quote can be inferred. By stressing the importance of divine power s
influence over one s mind, Campbell in rejecting the notion of fate, for if fate were present the
dominant divinity would not be necessary. Additionally, by stressing the importance of following
your bliss throughout the text, Campbell stresses the importance of following one s dreams rather
than prescribing to the notion of fate. Throughout The Power of Myth, Campbell s disregard of fate
and attention to dreams shows one that they should follow the path of their heart rather than
believing their path has been chosen for

Essay on The Tests for Market Efficiency
During the 20th century, academic financial economists extensively accepted the efficient market
hypothesis. Almost everyone was alleged that stock markets and securities market are highly
efficient in response to any new information in the market. It was argued that when information
regarding factors influencing market arises, the information spread like wild fire in the market and
the prices of stocks adjust accordingly without any delay. This means that neither the fundamental
analysisrelated to analysis of financial information of the company such as earnings, capital stock
etc nor the technical analysis related to the analysis of historical performance of the stocks of the
company enables the investor either experienced or not to get... Show more content on

In some journal an interesting example related to the idea of random walk is that random walk
is like a blindfolded chimpanzee throwing darts at Wall Street and selects any portfolio which
yields equal to the portfolio selected by any expert. The idea of random walk is just like throwing
a towel on the stock of different category to formulate an appropriate portfolio at lower cost.
Most of the investors try to select the securities which are mis priced undervalued due to the reason
that in future price of these securities will increase and they are able to outperform the market. The
portfolio managers identify the securities which are able to outperform the market and they use
variety of different techniques to predict the performance of the securities and stock. The financial
analysis gives comparative advantage to the investors which results in substantial profits. The
efficient market hypothesis argues that any technique is not capable to generate excess due to
dependable predictability of stock and securities return. The efficient market hypothesis argues that
it is very difficult to predict the future stock return and also the predictions are not consistent. The
important and main force behind the price change is the arrival of new information. It is a
presumption that market is efficient if the price of stock change averagely without any bias in
response to the new information in the market without waiting for any other

Comparing Owen s Dulce et Decorum Est and Crane s Do Not Weep, Maiden, For War Is Kind
Both Stephen Crane s Do Not Weep, Maiden, For War Is Kind and Wilfred Owen s Dulce et
Decorum Est use vivid images, diction rich with connotation, similes, and metaphors to portray the
irony between the idealized glory of war and the lurid reality of war. However, by looking at the
different ways these elements are used in each poem, it is clear that the speakers in the two poems
are soldiers who come from opposite ends of the spectrum of military ranks. One speaker is an
officer and the other is a foot soldier. Each of the speakers/soldiers is dealing with the repercussions

The most vivid and shocking image used is when the speaker internally addresses the child and
tells him that his father tumbled in the yellow trenches, / Raged at his breast, gulped and died (13
14). This is not something one would tell a child, especially when consoling him. The use of the
word trenches, which could be metaphors for graves, contributes to the implicit theme of a funeral
setting. This contradiction between verbally comforting family members and internally giving
them detailed descriptions of their loved one s death, shows the speaker s struggle with the idea
that families and others typically hear the glossed over story of the nobility of soldiers and the
glory of war. This speaker is battling with his military duty of consoling the family members and
with his conscience wanting to open their eyes to the fact that these men die gruesome and painful
deaths.
The second and fourth stanzas particularly support the theory that the officer is at the funeral of a
lower ranking soldier whom he led into battle. In the second and fourth stanzas, the officer is
reviewing his own thoughts during the time of the battle; this is an indication that he is struggling
with the decisions he has made. At the beginning of the second stanza, he uses an image of the

The Importance Of Immunization
Immunization is the process where a person is made immune to an infectious disease by the
administration of a vaccine. Vaccinations are the safest way to protect yourself against disease.
Vaccines help reduce deaths and diseases in children and teens that are preventable by vaccines are
no longer common in the United States. Getting a vaccinecan provide you with protection against
infection for a lifetime. Immunizations are a vital part of society, and help prevent diseases and
even eliminate diseases. Immunizations are important for many reasons. It is always better to get
an immunization to prevent a disease rather than treat it after it occurs. For every dollar spent on
childhood immunizations saves $18.40, and most immunizations are covered by insurance. The
best possible way for parents to ensure their children are healthy and protected from preventable
diseases are immunizations. Not only do vaccines help prevent diseases they also help eliminate
diseases. Some diseases that have been eradicated are small pox, measles, and mumps. Polio and
bacterial meningitis are also close to being eradicated. The complications that children could have
with chickenpox or the measles are much worse than any danger posed by the immunization.
Immunizations are also very important because even though some diseases rarely affect people in
the United States, these diseases still exists in other countries. People traveling from different
countries can unknowingly bring these diseases

The Outsider By Albert Camus
Albert Camus novel The Outsider follows a young French Algerian, Meursault, who lives his day to
day life detached from the rest of the world. Along with his indifference towards others, Meursault
has alienated himself from society with his absurdist ideas and blatant honesty. Camus has
structured the novel into two parts. In Part I we see Meursault s routines, habits and general
reactions to daily events around him. At the end of Part I Meursault kills an Arab man which
eventually leads to his murder trial. Part II shows the murder trial and Meursault s death sentencing.
A common theme found within The Outsider is Absurdism. Camus wanted to show how Man s
constant search for meaning in life is pointless. Through foreshadowing, Camus is able to represent
Absurd ideas found within the novel. The idea is first subtly represented in Part I and only upon
critical investigation can it be seen again in Part II.
Camus has chosen to portray the absurdity of Meursault s emotional detachment and lack of
empathy early on in The Outsider. The novel begins with Meursault s mother s death. He accounts
for the incident in a matter of fact manner by shortly stating Mother died today. Or maybe
yesterday, I don t know (9). This controversial reaction and lack of remorse becomes one of the
main factors used against him later on in the novel. Camus has crafted this statement to shock the
reader. It forebodes that the novel and its main character may not be ideal to our views. The fact that

Fight For The Last Slice
Nowadays, as human activities have increasingly negative effects on the environment and critical
resources, the ideology of being environment friendly is widely advertised around the world. As a
result, producers try to advance green capitalism to urge consumers to purchase their ostensibly
environment friendly products to help the environment. This article examines how the following
image Fight For the Last Slice is related to green capitalism and how the producers greenwash their
non eco part.
Firstly, there is some brief analysis of this image. This is a print ad of a Spanish pizza restaurant,
Pizza Love. From the large white bold FIGHT FOR THE LAST SLICE , that this advertisement
is more focus on an economical lifestyle, which is what the restaurant wants to introduce to their
consumers. The round pizza can be seen as the world, and the green cauliflowers on that veggie
pizza represent the forest resources. The last slice of veggie pizza represents a serious environment
situation in the world, which raise the consumers awareness of environment protection. The words
in the bottom left corner below the red logo We make pizza not global warmingand 100% recycled
boxes try to show that Pizza Love is an eco friendly restaurant, and is really focus on the
environment situation.
However, this is just a greenwashing of this pizza restaurant. Greenwashing is considered as the act
of misleading consumers regarding the environmental practices of a company or the

Pain And Neuropathic Pain
There are many types of pain and their causes depend on where they originate and what areas they
affect. Neuropathic pain originates from the nerves or the nervous system in general. The signs that
you have this kind of pain are burning and tingling. Physicians believe that conditions such as
diabetes can trigger the pain. Other conditions such as shingles and carpal tunnel syndrome may
also affect the nerves and cause pain to the patient.
Visceral pain happens only once in a while. It does not really last for a long time. however, it can
be very painful. It happens when the organs of your body are irritated. One good example of this is
the menstrual cramps that some women experience when they have their period. The pain can also

This means that you can simply manage your body to stop hurting. This type of pain management
suggests that a person can psychologically manage the pain and divert it away from the area in
question.
If the pain that you are experiencing is chronic, then you may want to consider the use of
acupuncture for your pain management. This is one of the better management techniques that a
person can use in making sure that they are pain free. There are all sorts of myths about
acupuncture, but the technique works wonders in the management of a person s pain.
Some pain management requires a person to go through a program to learn how to manage their
pain effectively. These programs often times involve a few classes that are spread out over the
course of several weeks. These are generally focused on natural methods of pain management that
do not require medication or any other foreign substances entering the body.
The next time that you are in pain, there are two things that you can do. Either let it ruin your plans
or try one of the pain management techniques that are listed here. These will go a long way in the
overall management of your

What Is The Cause Of The Hindenburg Disaster
Hindenburg the end of the speedy luxury airlines. In 1937 as a Hindenburg s passenger you
could fly from Europe to America in half the time it would take by ship. Not only that as a
passenger you would be able traveled in luxurious interiors that would never again be seen in the
air again, because of the 7 million cubic feet of hydrogen gas that ignited destroying not just the
Hindenburg but also the use of blimps. [Design of the Hindenburg] The basic design of the
Hindenburg was conventional, and based on time tested technology used by chief designer Ludwig
DГјrr and the Zeppelin Company for decades. The ship was built with triangular duralumin girders

The spark was most likely caused by an electrically charged atmosphere. The cause of the
hydrogen leak is a sort of a mystery, but we know the ship experienced a significant leakage of
hydrogen in the past before the disaster so it was probably not repaired correctly and returned
because no evidence of sabotage was found, and no convincing theory of sabotaged has ever
been proven. The simple truth is that Hindenburg was destroyed in 32 seconds because it was
inflated with hydrogen. [The aftermath] Hindenburg left the town of Frankfurt with 97 people
onboard of which 62 survived the crash at Lakehurst many of which suffered serious injuries.
Thirteen of the 36 passengers, and 22 of the 61 crew, died because of the crash, along with a

Voter Turnout And Voter Apathy
Voter turnout is commonly regarded as one of the most distinct issues within American politics of
the last century. Though the United States once averaged a turnout rate of 78% of eligible voters in
presidential elections between 1860 and 19001, the average voter turnout of the 21st century has
fallen to around 52%2. The cause of the marked decline throughout the 20th century is often
attributed simply to voter apathy, but the issue is much more complex. Upon analysis, it is clear
that a number of factors have contributed to the decreased rate of voter turnout, of which voter
apathy is perhaps the least influential. The decline in voter turnout in presidential electionsfrom the
19th to the 20th century is most likely a result of the instatement of the Australian ballot, the
structure of the American electionsystem, and an increased disillusionment with the government
over the last century. Until the late 19th century, voting was not entirely private in the United
States, which led to inflated voter turnout in presidential elections due to the corruption it
allowed. Initially, there were very few regulations imposed on voting. Ballots, for example,
could be printed in any size or color and often were printed so that one could tell to which party
it corresponded just by looking at it. A voter s name might be called out or recorded when he
placed a vote. Others could even view the ballot of another until it was officially cast3. This lack
of privacy in casting votes allowed

Sexual Assault On Campus

subject because I have been personally affected by it.
Sexual Assault on Campus ( Armstrong, Hamilton, and Sweeney)
College girls are the most at risk for rape. One major factor why, is the drinking of alcohol while

a football team that raped lowerclassmen. The players reportedly lured them into a cabin at camp

days later when one of the boys was still bleeding at told his parents. One of the boys was so
injured that he needed surgery. When the media got ahold of the story it was automatically
assumed as rape, when you hear about un consented anal penetration it s considered sexual. In
the United States the definition of rape is as Wencelblat (2004) says Carnal knowledge of a
female, not one s wife, forcibly and against her will. Only vaginal penetration by the penis

the case of the football players they ended up falling under deviant sex acts and indecent assault (
Deviant sex being anal penetration for anything other than medical purposes). Men being raped is
much rarer than women but it still has happened to one in thirty three men. One in ten rape victims

Major websites such as Google, Facebook and Twitter have been facing pressure to help stop the

excessive use of gore in his novels. However, gore is merely a side agenda that helps King shape
his ideas. Instead, King s main goal is to create suspense. By creating a vivid image of the impact
of a murder, rape, or other catastrophe he is able to foster his goal by unnerving his reader and

Everything ranging from education, religion to the media usually affects the individual s point of

irrelevant to the contemporary times, but by media analysis and personal revelation, it is the
modern thought backbone. Fundamentally, Human perception shall be at most times limited. To

Kenneth Dodge s Theory Of Juvenile Delinquency
Deviance among adolescents in our society has many different causes and multiple theories
throughout the history of criminal justice have been developed to attempt to explain, prevent and
reduce incidents of status offenses and juvenile delinquency. There are theories varying from
individual, to social and environmental. All of these theories have their merits and contribute in
one way or another to the advancement of the understanding of juvenile delinquencyand the
treatment and prevention of delinquency within our society. Those that have proven to be
successful we have applied in our justice system while those that are proven over time to be
ineffective or defective we have discarded. There is no single theory that applies to all delinquent
behavior in all situations. It is best to determine what theory may work best in each specific case
based on the individual and the specific situation. Dodge s information processingtheory of social
problem solving (Crick and Dodge 1994) was developed by Kenneth Dodge in an attempt to explain
the interaction between the child s cognitive development and their social environment. This theory
combines elements of both the individual and the social environment and examines how these two
variables interact with each other to present a model for juvenile delinquency. During my
investigation of this topic I discovered that an adapted model of Dodge s theory existed that
seemed to be more encompassing of the causes of juvenile delinquency,

Why The Airline Southwest Meets Or Exceeds The National...
The question addressed is if the airline Southwest meets or exceeds the national rate for on time
performance at the Oklahoma City airport. The data collected from the BTS is categorized into
either on time or not on time for Oklahoma City and nationwide. The BTS data was a complete
collection from participating airlines, which consist of airlines with 1 percent or more of scheduled
domestic passenger revenues. A Chi Squared Goodness of Fit test was selected for use.
The Chi Squared Goodness of Fit test offered a method to compare categorical data such as on
time performance or not on time performance. The two tailed hypothesis test is Ho: Southwest at
Oklahoma City airport has the same on time performance as the national rate. Ha: Southwest at
Oklahoma City airport does not have the same on time performance as the national rate. As the data
was for 2015 this allowed for 12 months of data enabling a df =11 with a desired significance level

size of 187 which was exceeded as the data includes 17,786 operations.
Results
The BTS reported a total of 5,819,079 operations nationally with an on time rate of 79.92% and
Oklahoma had 17,786 with an on time rate of 77.29%. The national on time rate was applied to

Importance Of Experiential Teaching
Experiential Teaching Why
I vividly remember and most appreciate professors that connected theoretical content of a lecture to
their daily practices and experiences. Professors that shared experiential knowledge, allowed me to
gain deeper understanding of the content and practical applications. This combination allowed me
to quickly implement new practices in my classroom early in my teaching career and tools early in
my management career. I hope to be a higher education educator who makes experiential
connections and adds a practical dimension to my classes through the incorporation of real world
experiences. I believe this will allow future teachers to walk away with practical tools and
knowledge to better provide students with a 21st century education. Providing experiential and
theoretical knowledge will support teachers professional and academic growth by increasing their
overall knowledge.
Great teachers are the primary resources for improving instruction and preparing students for the
future (Sa, 1997). Students that have access to quality teachers and innovators, stand a greater
chance at competing in the workforces and positively impacting their communities (Peske Haycock,
2006). To position our current and future educators for success, professors that can create deep and
meaningful connections with their students stand a greater chance of successfully positioning our
educators (Bers, 2007). This need for practical professors fuels my desire to share my

Hindus believe that ones circumstances in life are completely determined by his previous
conduct, either in this life or in previous lives. This is called karma. By doing good deeds in this
life, therefore, one can improve his circumstances in the future, especially in future
reincarnations. (BG, p. 9,10) The final goal is to escape or be released from the cycle of
reincarnation. Hindus will seek in life to be set free from birth, death, and rebirth, so that we
exist in a state of pure impersonal being without a physical body. Jews, Christians and Muslims
believe that man has only one life to live. In contradiction to the doctrine of karma, the
Abrahamic religion believe that on earth, men often do not receive fair or just rewards for their
lives they get their reward on judgment day. God will judge all men and declare our eternal
rewards on the basis of our lives, whether we have lived it good or bad. After judgment, men
receive their eternal destinies. The righteous receive eternal life, a state of bliss, in the presence
of God. The wicked receive eternal punishment, suffering and sorrow, separated from God. In the
Abrahamic religion the gift of life is received after we leave the earth, not on the earth. Finally
Hindu s and Abrahamic religions also differ on their concept of Salvation. Hindu s goal is not
salvation but to escape the reincarnation cycle. There are several ways in which this can be done:

same test as last time, with putting her teddy under the blanket. Right when I put the bear under
the blanket, Vera reached under and retrieved the teddy. Since she was able to do that, I tried the
A not B error. When I put the teddy under the first blanket, she got it. Then when I put it under
the second blanket, she looked under the first blanket. This confirmed Piagets theory of the A
not B error (Crosby, 108). I also noticed that Vera enjoys solitary play. If I am in the room with
her and sitting on the couch, she will gladly play with her toys alone. This is not an issue at her
age. If she continued this past age five or six, then it could be a red flag of something such as
anxiety according to Burgess, Rubin, Cheah, and Nelson (Crosby, 489). She also responded to
simple requests. For example if you asked for a high five, she would do it. When I started
singing When You re Happy and You know it, she could clap. The next thing I did was giving
Vera her bottle, and to my surprise, she now holds the bottle with one hand. In addition, I noticed
that she was eating most all normal foods now. She had a peanut butter sandwich cut up in very
small pieces. The last thing I did was ask... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is also harder to measure her social development of Vera because she is not yet talking and does
not have friends to measure the social ability. She smiles and babbles at people but that is mostly it.
In addition, it is more difficult to measure her mental development because she cannot talk yet and
understand her mental state. The only way we can understand her emotions is through her face and
body language. Lastly, there is limited information about things such as key life events because she

Pink Ribbon Symbolizes Breast Cancer
A pink ribbon symbolizes breast cancer awareness for women. Their first appearance occurred in
1979 when a wife, whose husband has been taken to Iran started to tie yellow ribbons around the
trees in her front yard, her dream was to see her husband come home again. The second
appearance occurred 11 years later when an AID activist looked at the yellow ribbons that
represented the soldiers fighting in the war, he turned the ribbons bright red representing blood. In
1990, the first breast cancersurvivor launched a campaign named Komen for the Cure . They
launched a race and all the survivors wore printed black and white buttons, the design was an
abstract female runner outlined in a pink ribbon. Later that year, the program developed and the

The Millionaire Next Door Analysis
The Millionaire Next Door is insightful book for those wanting to understand how your money
works for you. This being said, Thomas J. Stanley did a splendid job ensuring that you get his
main points accessed on how people who are millionaires stay millionaires, these points include
living below your income, manage your time and moneyefficiently, living independently is more
important than showing high social status, not relying on your parents for money, having children
who are self sufficient, and choosing the right occupation. From these points the most the top three
most valuable in my opinion are living below your income, manage your time and money
efficiently, living independently is more important than showing high social status, having children
who are self sufficient, this is technically four but I believe that if you are going to live below your
income you are going to have to manage your time and money efficiently, thus, in my opinion
putting them as one point.
Managing our time and money efficiently is a priority. This lesson is... Show more content on

I believe that if I am raising children I would like to do it right. There is no doubt in my mind that
women have the odds stacked against us when it comes to getting a high income job, a man in the
same position could make more than the women. But as a raise my children I would teach my
children that they can do whatever occupation they choose. Another thing I would not do is provide
much money to my children, I would want them to learn how to gain it on their own. In the book
it talks about how children how parents give children money, it can lead them down the path of
becoming an UAW, I would want my children to use the PAW approach. I also learned that you
should never tell your child how much you make, if they are getting a trust fund, and don t give
them money as a negotiation strategy. I believe that these are valuable lessons when bringing up

Pros And Cons Of Absolute Monarchy
Absolute Monarchy is a flawed system, in which a monarch has total power over their people. An
example of absolute monarchy from the past is Louis XVI and an example in current times is
Pope Francis in Vatican City. There are pros and cons to this system just as there is with any
government system, but most people agree would that there generally are more cons then pros with
this system.
Absolute monarchy is when one ruler has total rule over their country, an example of how flawed
this system is, is Louis XVI with France. Some countries still run under absolute monarchy,
including Vatican City and Saudi Arabia. Vatican City is the last country left in Europe that hasn t
eradicated absolute monarchy. Having just one person in control of the country can cause serious
damage if someone with very specific views gets into office. this problem can happen with most
forms of government, but under other forms of government there is a constitution or checks and
balances to make sure that no one is receiving too much power. ... Show more content on

is no one above me, I can do whatever I want. The War of The Spanish Succession was the longest
war fought under his ruling lasting 13 years. This war nearly defeated France and would have
made the country go into bankruptcy. When Louis XVI was executed in 1793, he was highly

Documentaries Have Been Around For Ages. The Genre Is Often
Documentaries have been around for ages. The genre is often based on true events or facts. When
a viewer watches a documentary, they often feel empowered. They feel empowered to either take
action because they support the views of the film, or take action against the film if they do not
agree with the views of the film. While some people turn to the news to find out about social
issues, people also turn to documentaries. In an article talking about documentaries and their
impact, it stated with ever increasing frequency, these films are considered part of a larger effort to
spark debate, mold public opinion, shape policy, and build activist networks (Nisbet 450). Subjects
that were originally brushed under the rug, now gains much more... Show more content on

An article talking about Food Inc. talks about the organization of the film saying, The film is
divided into chapters that focus on different problems relevant to the current food system: diabetes
and obesity, food borne illness, factory farming, genetic engineering, farm worker protection,
pesticides, cloning, environmental impact, and the global food crisis (381 2 Lindenfeld). By
dividing the storyline into different chapters like this, the filmmakers can ensure that they present a
multitude of issues that appeal to a wide number of viewers without getting bogged down on
details that could make people uninterested. Food Inc. is able to give the broad brushstrokes on all
of these topics. If a viewer is interested in learning more about a certain issue, they can do it on their
own time. Another untraditional practice that Food Inc. performed that may go against the norm in
filmmaking is the way it decided to go about the storyline of the documentary. The film practiced
moving back and forth between personal stories and institutional practices ensuring that the film
can deliver important facts while creating a compelling narrative that emotionally engages its
spectators (382). This is a very unique way to present a story line and educate the viewers without
them getting bored. Just hearing the facts about the food industry and what it has done to the
consumers may not get the same response by the viewers than by showing personal stories and
how people are

The Maryland Oyster Industry And Its Decline Throughout...
In The Oyster Question, Christine Keiner utilizes environmental, agricultural, political, and social
history perspectives to investigate the Maryland oyster industry and its decline throughout history
to answer the question if the oyster industry should be privatized. She offers opposing viewpoints
from scientists, politicians and local community members. She has managed to connect scientific
history with environmental history with local history to bring together a comprehensive overview
of the problems both past and present of the Maryland oysterindustry. I think that Christine keener
does an excellent job, not without its flaws, of laying bare how science and preservation is
necessary to be understood as local phenomena, manipulated by... Show more content on

After this distress erupted Maryland instituted a new law that only residents could harvest oysters.
So the northerners moved south.
When the refrigerated rail cars came onto the scene, it changed the oyster game. Oysters could
now be enjoyed all over the country and Americans loved them, oysters went as far west as the
Rocky Mountains! The oyster business was booming. In 1870 one fifth of the men in the entire
fishing industry were Chesapeake Bay oystermen. There were twenty six thousand fishermen and
processors employed in the Chesapeake oyster industry. The bay then had around forty two
thousand boats, just for oystering. On average, they were harvesting fifteen million pounds of
oysters a year. In 1885, twenty nine million bushels were harvested. An increased demand led to
increases in harvests. The bay quickly began to deplete. From 1865 to 1959 there was a series of
disputes that erupted among the various groups of oystermen. Sometimes violent, these disputes
caused the government to intervene with a newly created Maryland Oyster Navy.
To help regulate the oyster industry a series of steps were taken in the 1880s: a general license
system, the oyster police, the Winslow oyster survey, and numerous road and canal expansion
projects. The 1890s brought decline in the oyster industry, due to both demand and the depletion of
the bay, though by the mid 1900s it was fairly stable. This was helped in part by the Hanan oyster

Assimilation In A Raisin In The Sun
In A Raisin in the Sun, Lorraine Hansberry shines a spotlight on Beneatha who reinvigorates the
belief that freedom is life, and while the Younger family may be free in some ways, society still
attempts to confine them in others. Throughout the play Hansberry depicts the restrictions that
society has placed on the hopes and dreams of the family, specifically those of Beneatha, Walter,
and Mama. Hansberry thus conveys that assimilating into society is negative because by
assimilating one is submitting to the limitations society attaches to one s labels.
Hansberry communicates that assimilation is negative through her portrayal of assimilation and the
beliefs of society as directly responsible for the deference of dreams. Society is responsible for
instilling disillusion and defeat within the family to the point that Mama believes that God didn t
see fit to give the black man nothing but dreams. The idea that because of their ethnicity,
everything they want in life must remain an impossible fantasy. Assimilation has tied Mama to
what she has been told is her harsh reality, that she can never own a house and a garden. Mama s
assimilation and dream deference do not only affect Mama s life, but the lives of Beneatha and
Walter as well because Mama s submission to society s constraints cause her to discourage her
children in pursuing their dreams.
However, unlike Mama Beneatha doesn t let the dominant. . . oppressive culture chain her dreams.
Beneatha, despite the

Tae Kwon Do Personal Injury

which ever one you are, injuries are bound to happen.
I first started Tae Kwon Do, or TKD for short, in 2009 when I was in the 5th grade. When I was
around that age I was all about sports and running around doing not your typical girl activities.
While most girls would ask for a new doll or their first make up kit, I wanted a new basketball or a

There are people at different ages shop every day, either online or in a store. People shop not only
for living essentials, but also for their needs in the society. Teens, too, shop for their reputation and
shop whenever they can. Drew Desilver, a senior writer at the Pew Research Center, stated that
almost eighty percent of American teens shop online, but almost eighty percent of the American
teens prefer to shop in stores (Desilver). There are many reasons why teenagers shop online even
though they prefer to shop in stores, but it is mainly due to the advance of technology in
advertisements, time saving, and teens purchasing power. Technology has become the daily basic

Famous websites, such as Amazon and eBay help many teenagers to look for what they need
within a few seconds. Websites like google can help them to find items at a relatively lower cost,
too. This saves a lot of time because they do not need to compare different costs at different
locations for something they want to buy. This is especially critical for teens these years because
they re more cautious with their cash than in previous years (Smith 4). Although people may
prefer to shop in stores, they usually cannot find enough time to do so. It is particularly true for
teens who do not have driver licenses or other transportation methods and consequently have to
go with an adult only when the adults have free time. Furthermore, students can buy things in
seconds in special online programs such as Amazon s 1 Click Checkout and get it shipped
before they need to use it for school. They do not have to look for class material in the bookstore
when it is crowded in the beginning of the school year and have to wait for a long line. The last
reason that teens tend to shop online instead of shopping in stores even if they favor to do the
second is because of their purchasing power. As suggested by POPAI, while the tweens drive
demand, parents are the real buyers (Smith 5). There are many things that teens want, but since
many teenagers do not have jobs, the most reasonable source of their purchasing

Similarities Between Romeo And Juliet Capulet
Juliet Capulet INFPs are similar to ENFPs personality wise, except they are more closed off than
their extraverted counterparts. Strengths and Weaknesses INFPs are idealistic, seek value and

also too idealistic, impractical, and take things quite personally. Juliet shows her idealism in the
balcony scene. She lays out what she is willing to do for Romeo to make their relationship better
for both of them. Or if thou think st I am too quickly won, I ll frown and be perverse and say thee

Big Dig Research Paper
The Central Artery/Tunnel Project, also known as the Big Dig, is one of the most expensive,
technically challenging, and largest public projects in American history. The Big Dig was a super
project that was created to reroute the Central Artery of Interstate 93, the main roadway through
the core of the city, into the 1.5 mile Thomas P. O Neill Jr. Tunnel. The construction of the Big
Dig untangled the co mingled traffic in Boston, Massachusetts and resulted in a 62% decrease in
vehicle hours of travel and reduced the afternoon peak hour by a massive 85.6%.
The highway planning of the Big Dig started in 1982 with the actual construction starting in
1991. The Big Dig was initially planned to be finalized in 1998 with the estimated total cost of
2.8 billion (7.8 billion adjusted for inflation to today s dollar value) but due to cost overruns,
design flaws, criminal arrests and even one death the construction of the highway was delayed.
After all the delays, the Big Dig was finally completed in 2007 at a cost of 8.08 billion (20.5 billion
in today s dollar value). After the Big Dig was completed, it cost nearly 21 billion dollars, had

Guilt Is A Raw Instinctive Emotion Of Human Nature

Guilt
Introduction
Guilt is a raw instinctive emotion of the human nature. Is there a general way through human beings
and all other forms of life would be distinguished from one another. Both humans and other forms
of life on earth have the element of life, the element of survival. Through feeding and excretion
they are both similar. In almost every aspect of life for both human and other forms of life, they are
identical to each other. If for example, both did not feed, their fate would be equally the same.
Through the theory of evolution of man, it is argued that he evolved from the most basic form of
life and over the years evolved in what he is today, a prime being, at the top of the list. But what
differentiates the two apart. Intellectuality and the ability to use reason is the very fundamental
difference between human beings and other forms of life. Having intellect means the ability to use
reason to make decisions and choices. There however, is a difference between choices. Choices
could either be voluntary or involuntary. Actions that are made through involuntary choices could
be termed as the raw instincts elements of man, some of which could probably be compared to
those of animals and other living organisms. On the other hand, there are actions that are based on
voluntary choices, actions that an individual knows their consequence but goes on to do them.
Take for example, a little child not more than 5 years, meaning that his

Augustus Analysis
Nevertheless, Tacitus also wrote after the time of Augustus at the end of the first century AD,
however unlike other sources he conveys a very bias perspective on Augustus and his rule. This
may be due to the change that Augustus made to the government, especially when the empire was
left to be run by power hungry successors after Augustuss death. This in hand would of left Tacitus
blaming Augustus as he was the first roman emperor, leaving Tacitus to experience tyranny,
corruption and decadence which may explain his bitter and ironic political analysis. This is also
seen as his writings are filled with snide remarks (innuendo) of Augustus and essentially how he
created corruption, governmental scandal and innocent people being destroyed because of his lust
for power. Overall, these three sources are equally biased because they were all issued after
Augustus s reign yet still show a depiction of Augustus which is an opposing view to that found in
other sources, as all three of the primary sources believed that an emperor... Show more content on

Chemistry Assessment Task Chemistry Assessment TaskTong Yi PART A C6H12O6 пѓ C3H4O3 пѓ C2H6O + CO2 Ethanol or as we know as alcohol in our beverages can be made from any fruit or vegetable that performs photosynthesis which produces glucose shown As required as the reactant of the previous equations. Balanced chemical equation for Photosynthesis: 6CO2 + 6H2O пѓ C6H12O6 + 6O2 (light energy is used as a catalyst in this equation) Balanced chemical equation for the fermentation of glucose to ethanol: C6H12O6(aq) пѓ 2C2H5OH(l) + 2CO2(g) (yeast acts as a catalyst in this reaction.) As the diagram on the right displays, one molecule of Glucose produces two molecules of carbon dioxide and two molecules of ethanol. The fermentation of glucose to ethanol is only possible if oxygen is absent otherwise instead of producing ethanol and carbon dioxide, lactic acid is produced instead. The first part of the breakdown of glucose is known as Glycolysis, in which one molecule of glucose is broken down to two molecules of pyruvate (C3H4O3). The second part is the fermentation process in which the two pyruvate molecules are converted to two molecules of ethanol and two molecules of carbon dioxide. PART B i. Ethanol is considered as a alternative fuel at a lower cost level in relation to gasoline. It is produced by fermenting sugars from a range of feedstock such as wheat and corn. Ethanol is blended with gasoline from E10 (5% ethanol 95% gasoline) to E85 (85% ethanol 15% gasoline). ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. The United States Prison Population The United States prison population has grown tremendously from approximately 500,000 to 2.3 million people in just three decades. We (U.S) spend almost $70 billion annually to place adults in prison and jails, to confine youth in detention centers, and to supervise 7.3 million individuals on probation and parole. California has the largest prisonpopulation in the country, with more than 170,000 individuals behind bars. In Los Angeles, more than half of current parolees live in neighborhoods that are home to less than 20 percent of the city s adult residents. More than a billion dollars are spent every year to incarcerate people from these communities. At the same time, as of spring 2010, the Los Angeles Unified School District was projecting a deficit of $640 million in the 2010 11 academic year. As a result, district officials were planning to raise class sizes and lay off thousands of teachers and other school based staff. 40% of students expelled from schools each year are black. 70% of students are involved in in school arrest. 2 x black and latino students are twice as likely to not graduate than white students 68% of all males in federal prison do not have a high school diploma The yearly cost to incarcerate one child is $88,000 and the yearly cost of public education for one child is $10,600 The school to prison pipeline is exactly how it sounds it is a system that pushes students out of classrooms and into jail. • 4. Conservation Is The Greatest Economic Value For The... Conserve today, to create a better tomorrow. Conservation is needed to protect, improve, and use our natural resources wisely, so we can have the greatest economic value for the present and future. As citizens of Southwest, Kansas, it is our duty to conserve water for the current and future use of agriculture, municipalities, oil, and gas fields. My family and I have lived on the Cimarron River for the past 20 years. My parents drilled their own house well in 1992. Today, the water level in our house well is marginal, and will only last ten more years before we have to drill deeper. As our water is non renewable, we may not find anything when we do drill deeper. It would be devastating to think my family would have to move from Southwest, Kansas. In the near future, we may find that water is priced as high as gasoline or even gold. Without water we will not have people around to plant and harvest crops much less water those plants. It is a vicious cycle and drastic changes need to be made now. In order to fix this problem, we must conserve water. The consequences of not having use of the Ogallala aquifer for the agricultural, municipal, oil, and gas industries. Agriculture. Lack of water results in a lack of corn, which would drive up the cost of beef, pork, and milk. Commercial livestock facilities use tens of thousands of gallons a day. A feedlot or dairy having 1,000 head of cattle consumes 10,000 gallons of water per day; that amounts to 70,000 gallons ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Osteopathy Research Paper The impact that a badly sleeping baby has on its parents is, in one word, draining. Tired parents who try to continue to function normally while go about their daily tasks often resemble cast members from the Walking Dead zombie television show. There are a number of reasons why your baby may not be sleeping well. If you have ruled out medical issues with your paediatrician, an osteopath who is experienced in cranial manipulation should be next on your list to investigate. While putting your baby s head in a stranger s hands may immediately raise concern, there is a good reason why they can help your baby sleep better at night. What Is Osteopathy? Osteopathy is the branch of medicine that deals with your musculoskeletal framework. This includes the spine, your muscles and all of the little joints between your bones. The goal of an osteopath is to treat aches and pains that resonate from your... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... What Does Cranial Osteopathy Have To Do With Babies? Childbirth is a vigorous process for both mother and child, and sometimes during childbirth a baby s skull or spine can be pushed slightly out of alignment during the birthing process. This bad alignment can lead to breathing problems, body pain, and what appears to be a cranky child who has issues sleeping. The lack of sleeping, however, can instead be attributed to the fact your child is hurting while they are trying to sleep, and no matter how they try, they cannot get comfortable. Because a baby s skull and bones remain soft during the months following birth, an osteopath can use manipulation techniques to realign the skull bones or the spine to their correct position. This relieves the pain your baby is feeling, and that, in turn, leads to more sleep time because they are now comfortable when lying ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. The Invention Of Printing Press In 1440, for too many people was the year of change in the global communication. It was during this time in Mainz, Germany that a goldsmith s Johannes Gutenberg created one of the most important machines during the modern period: the printing press. The printing press was inspired by earlier uses found in China and Japan as early as the 7th century. In this time the way to print was using the method of block printing, which was a piece of wood used to print a specific piece of text. ( Patterns for ) With the Gutenberg invention the revolution had begun. It advanced the process of movable type further, and started a new era of printing called typography. The typography allowed information to move from almost permanent and portable to the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Templates that were used on every page to create a mass production and look like a single work. ( User Interface ) The templates are essential in mobile design. The templates that are used across a product, on most every page of a website or application, we call a wrapper because they enclose (wrap around) all the other components and the content. Also there are some patterns based on how the human mind processes pattern, objects, and information. ( User Interface ) Scroll bars when information on a page exceeds the viewport, a scroll bar control may be required to access the additional information. Scrolling of information should almost always occur along one axis, except in rare cases. ( Patterns for ) The problem can be more information in the page or element than can fit in the viewport. You have to provide a method to access this information. The solution for mobiles will be to display them to indicate the scrollable axes, and the relative position within the scrollable area. Whenever possible, you should make sure scrolling takes place on a single axis. This is why the whole set of patterns based around vertical scroll exist. When the situation demands, such as for zooming in to content which otherwise fits the area, you can also offer a secondary scroll axis. • 7. Climate Change Is A Hot Topic Climate change is a hot topic (pun intended), with supporters on both sides. Some claim that climate change is a hoax, while others agree that it is happening. I believe it is important to understand that the earth s climate does naturally go through cycles look at our geological history of ice ages and hothouses but also recognize that human activity has greatly advanced the rate at which our planet is warming. The planet naturally goes through periods of extreme cooling and heating. That s why we have had multiple periods of ice age (when polar ice grows far beyond its normal range) and the opposite, hothouse periods (when all the polar ice melts). Currently, we are in an interglacial period (when it s not too hot nor too cold). Interglacial periods are best for human life because our bodies have not evolved to withstand radical high or low temperatures. Ever since man began to shift from a nomadic hunter gatherer society to an agrarian society, we have been gradually using more and more of the earth s natural resources with little thought of the consequences. Britain began its age of exploration because they sought more land to provide them with more natural resources as they had exhausted most of what they previously had. When Britain colonized territory here in North America, they once again had an unlimited supply of huge trees to make large navy ships, and land to grow crops such as tobacco. This began rapid deforestation that still has not stopped. As the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. The Value Of A Life Kathleen Sullivan Professor Janice Shiu GOVT 35 23 September 2014 The Value of a Life Countries less privileged than America face the reoccurring issue of being taken advantage of. This occurs because these countries have high unemployment rates and are in poverty so they are given jobs through American factories. This process, though, is not always a fair one. Haiti and China are both countries with bad labor regulations, usually by American influence, and this hurts the welfare of these countries as a whole, the individuals in these countries, and the morality of America. Dupuy (2014) writes that Haiti s people, trapped working in factories for cheap labor, are faced with a hard life and various brutalities. Both adults and children must live these lives of horrible situations where they have no other choice than to work at extremely low wages because of Haiti s poverty levels. Whether they are sent away from their families to live in the city, in order to have a better life, or they re born poor and go to the city to work everyday, these people do not live a good life. The children who work have long hours, usually from early dawn until night, and go home, sometimes only to be abused. (Dupuy, 2014). These conditions are put onto lonely, young, and exhausted children who are not living with their families. But these conditions of long work hours in Haiti do not only apply to children, but also young people and middle aged, too (Shah, 1998). The United States ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. Weaknesses Of A Project Weaknesses: There were also two key weaknesses to my project that I wish I could have remedied at some point throughout the project. The first was that my project is focused on something that makes it difficult to see the direct impact or to quantify. When evaluating the project I had to rely on teacher feedback and will have to wait to see about standardized testing data for those that attended my sessions and tried their own small groups. This means that the results take a while to show up and that directly linking a student s standardized testing score to small group or conferring would be extremely difficult to do. Thus, it is not a project that will stand out as one that causes large gains in student achievement only because it is nearly impossible to gather the data that proves the correlation due to the number of variables.... This is something I discussed with my instructional coach as a possibility for next year s professional development days that are built in throughout our school year. She mentioned that in a survey the instructional coaches recently did that she noticed a similar trend that teachers wanted more time to work with creating instructional tools. By focusing on the tools used in small groups it would allow this project to continue into next year and would continue to help foster student growth and independence. It would also help teachers to find time to create the tools necessary to feel confident going into a small group and would hopefully ensure collaboration across teachers, grade levels, or even the district because if this work was done during a professional development day then there would be more opportunity to share the workload and to bring together minds to create the best tools possible to promote student ... • 10. The 4-Th Amendments Of The Fourth Amendment And The 4th... The house of every one is to him as his castle and fortress, as well for his defense against injury and violence as for his repose (Coke, 1604). This statement was written by an English barrister, judge and the greatest jurist of the Elizabethan and Jacobean eras. These powerful words value the 4 th amendment. The fourth amendment is one of the important sections in the Bill of Rights which helps people to secure and protect their houses, papers and persons from officers who abuse their authority. When America was a Britain colony , justices of the peace were writing laws in order to help people earn money on customs. This political process was possible only through a general warrant which allowed free searches and seizures to happen. It means officers could search a suspected place without any evidences. Also, they could even to seize you without reasons. However, in 1756 some towns like Massachusetts turned this tricky law into new one, which prohibited the general warrant. This rule allowed citizens to live and work in peace. Later, such movements caused to addition of The Fourth... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... United States, two Kentucky State police officers ignored no trespassing sign and got inside defendant s field. Nearly to the defendant s house the officers found a marijuana crop. • 11. Civilized, Sense And Sensibility, By Jane Austen Enjoyable, civilized Sense and Sensibility was the first and one of Jane Austen s novels; she wrote it in 1795, but it was not published for 16 years. It was written by a young woman who ostensibly had little experience of the world although her fiction proves she missed the little that occurred on her domestic stage and the story reflects that orientation, as a mother and her three daughters wait passively while all the interesting men in the vicinity disappear on unexplained missions to London. In a modern story, the women would have demanded explanations. What gives Sense and Sensibility its tension and mystery are that the characters rarely say what they mean. There is great gossip within the women s sphere, but with men. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Edward leaves suddenly for London. The next man to appear is Col. Brandon, played by that indispensable Alan Rickman. He is attracted to Marianne, but before he can act, she is smitten by the dashing Willoughby (Greg Wise), who rescues her from a mishap and charms her off her feet. No sooner have these men appeared when they, too, are called away to London although not before Col. Brandon has suggested, almost by osmosis, that he knows something unspeakable about his rival Willoughby. His secret is the sort of thing that would not be a secret long in the modern age, but in Austen s time, such things were not spoken of, and Brandon might even allow Marianne to make a disastrous marriage rather than tell her what her maidenly ears should never hear. This maddening, intriguing inability to simply blurt out the truth is indispensable to 19th century fiction, and I find it enormously satisfying. Better the character who leaves us to guess at unspeakable depths than one who bores us with confessional psychobabble. The men s departure to London leaves the three daughters and their mother facing an indefinite future in their sewing circle. So, when a kindly relative proposes a visit to London, they seize upon it with desperation, and it is there that secrets are revealed and alliances are smashed or formed. The screenplay, adapted from Austen by Emma Thompson, takes wicked delight ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 12. The Theory Of Attachment Theory Essay B1/A2/A*1 John Bowlby s attachment theory is a positive aspect to this transition as the child are likely to gain secure attachments with their key worker which enables them to work closely with each other, this then allows the child to be more comfortable with any support they receive throughout the process, however the child may become too attached to their key worker and may face issues later when the times comes for them to separate therefore it is important for children to spend time with other members of staff. Children can be attached to other practitioners other than their key worker so it is important for both to communicate to ensure that the key worker knows everything about the child and keep on track with any paperwork they have to complete about the child and keep track of the child s progress and development. I think that Bowlby attachment theory is important within this transition as the child going into care needs a secure attachment to someone as the attachment to their parents will be disrupted and the child needs someone for support especially a child of this age. The child can make an attachment to their foster carer however this also may be difficult if the child is in temporary foster care and are removed from care, this may cause the child distress as all the attachments they have made are being disrupted. There are many criticism of Bowlby s theory, one of these are that Bowlby believed that Bowlby suggested that a child would initially form only ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 14. Weapons Training Bruce Dawe Analysis Bruce Dawe, a famous Australian poet born in 1930, in Geelong; writes about his war experience in the Vietnam War and utilises a variety of imagery and literary techniques to express his anti war sentiment in both Weapons Training and Homecoming . Weapons Training written in 1970, involves a dramatic monologue of a drill sergeant; training recruits who are about to be sent to the VietnamWar. Homecoming written by Dawe two years earlier was written as a requiem for anonymous soldiers, protesting towards Australia s involvement in the Vietnam War during the 1960s. PARAGRAPH 1: Weapons Training by Dawe features a dramatic monologue of a drill sergeant; training recruits which are to be sent to war. Based on his own reading and reflection, Dawe was opposed to the Vietnamese War, believing it to be lacking sense historically and ultimately futile. • 15. The Importance Of Chons In Egyptian mythology, Chons (alternately Khensu, Khons, Khonsu or Khonshu) is an ancient lunar deity, from before formal structure was given to a pantheon. His name reflects the fact that the Moon (referred to as Iah in Egyptian) travels across the night sky, for it means The Wanderer, and also had the titles Embracer, Pathfinder, and Defender, as he was thought to watch over night travelers. As the godof light in the night, Chons was invoked to protect against wild animals, increase male virility, and to aid with healing. It was said that when Chons caused the crescent moon to shine, women conceived, cattle became fertile, and all nostrils and every throat was filled with fresh air. Chons can also be understood to mean king s placenta, and consequently in early times, he was considered to slay the king s (i.e. the pharaoh s) enemies, and extract their innards for the king s use, metaphorically creating something resembling a placenta for the king. This bloodthirsty aspect leads him to be referred to, in such as the Pyramid texts, as the (one who) lives on hearts. He also became associated with more literal placentas, becoming seen as a deification of the royal placenta, and so a god involved with childbirth. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 16. Fate In Joseph Campbell s The Alchemist Many people live their lives believing that their lives are driven by fate; that their hopes and dreams ultimately have no impact on how their lives will turn out. This, however, does not hold true when one considers the paths taken by those who follow their own dreams and desires. When one examines the lives of people and characters who follow their dreams, one can realize that life is not guided by fate, but by the desires of one s heart. In The Alchemist, Santiago s life is guided by his dreams and desires, not his fate. In the beginning of the novel, Santiago was studying to be a priest, but he forgoes his education in order to follow his dream of traveling the world. Though many as a foolish decision would have seen this, as priests were well respected and shepherds were not, Santiago does as he desires, not what he is told will be the most advantageous. Comparing Owen s Dulce et Decorum Est and Crane s Do Not Weep, Maiden, For War Is Kind Both Stephen Crane s Do Not Weep, Maiden, For War Is Kind and Wilfred Owen s Dulce et Decorum Est use vivid images, diction rich with connotation, similes, and metaphors to portray the irony between the idealized glory of war and the lurid reality of war. However, by looking at the different ways these elements are used in each poem, it is clear that the speakers in the two poems are soldiers who come from opposite ends of the spectrum of military ranks. One speaker is an officer and the other is a foot soldier. Each of the speakers/soldiers is dealing with the repercussions from his own realities of the horror of war based on his duty ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The most vivid and shocking image used is when the speaker internally addresses the child and tells him that his father tumbled in the yellow trenches, / Raged at his breast, gulped and died (13 14). This is not something one would tell a child, especially when consoling him. The use of the word trenches, which could be metaphors for graves, contributes to the implicit theme of a funeral setting. This contradiction between verbally comforting family members and internally giving them detailed descriptions of their loved one s death, shows the speaker s struggle with the idea that families and others typically hear the glossed over story of the nobility of soldiers and the glory of war. This speaker is battling with his military duty of consoling the family members and with his conscience wanting to open their eyes to the fact that these men die gruesome and painful deaths. The second and fourth stanzas particularly support the theory that the officer is at the funeral of a lower ranking soldier whom he led into battle. In the second and fourth stanzas, the officer is reviewing his own thoughts during the time of the battle; this is an indication that he is struggling with the decisions he has made. Along with his indifference towards others, Meursault has alienated himself from society with his absurdist ideas and blatant honesty. Camus has structured the novel into two parts. In Part I we see Meursault s routines, habits and general reactions to daily events around him. At the end of Part I Meursault kills an Arab man which eventually leads to his murder trial. Part II shows the murder trial and Meursault s death sentencing. A common theme found within The Outsider is Absurdism. Camus wanted to show how Man s constant search for meaning in life is pointless. Through foreshadowing, Camus is able to represent Absurd ideas found within the novel. The idea is first subtly represented in Part I and only upon critical investigation can it be seen again in Part II. Camus has chosen to portray the absurdity of Meursault s emotional detachment and lack of empathy early on in The Outsider. The novel begins with Meursault s mother s death. He accounts for the incident in a matter of fact manner by shortly stating Mother died today. Or maybe yesterday, I don t know (9). • 27. Voter Turnout And Voter Apathy Voter turnout is commonly regarded as one of the most distinct issues within American politics of the last century. Though the United States once averaged a turnout rate of 78% of eligible voters in presidential elections between 1860 and 19001, the average voter turnout of the 21st century has fallen to around 52%2. The cause of the marked decline throughout the 20th century is often attributed simply to voter apathy, but the issue is much more complex. Upon analysis, it is clear that a number of factors have contributed to the decreased rate of voter turnout, of which voter apathy is perhaps the least influential. The decline in voter turnout in presidential electionsfrom the 19th to the 20th century is most likely a result of the instatement of the Australian ballot, the structure of the American electionsystem, and an increased disillusionment with the government over the last century. Until the late 19th century, voting was not entirely private in the United States, which led to inflated voter turnout in presidential elections due to the corruption it allowed. Initially, there were very few regulations imposed on voting. Ballots, for example, could be printed in any size or color and often were printed so that one could tell to which party it corresponded just by looking at it. Kenneth Dodge s Theory Of Juvenile Delinquency Deviance among adolescents in our society has many different causes and multiple theories throughout the history of criminal justice have been developed to attempt to explain, prevent and reduce incidents of status offenses and juvenile delinquency. There are theories varying from individual, to social and environmental. All of these theories have their merits and contribute in one way or another to the advancement of the understanding of juvenile delinquencyand the treatment and prevention of delinquency within our society. Those that have proven to be successful we have applied in our justice system while those that are proven over time to be ineffective or defective we have discarded. There is no single theory that applies to all delinquent behavior in all situations. It is best to determine what theory may work best in each specific case based on the individual and the specific situation. Dodge s information processingtheory of social problem solving (Crick and Dodge 1994) was developed by Kenneth Dodge in an attempt to explain the interaction between the child s cognitive development and their social environment. This theory combines elements of both the individual and the social environment and examines how these two variables interact with each other to present a model for juvenile delinquency. During my investigation of this topic I discovered that an adapted model of Dodge s theory existed that seemed to be more encompassing of the causes of juvenile delinquency, ... • 37. Why The Airline Southwest Meets Or Exceeds The National... The question addressed is if the airline Southwest meets or exceeds the national rate for on time performance at the Oklahoma City airport. The data collected from the BTS is categorized into either on time or not on time for Oklahoma City and nationwide. The BTS data was a complete collection from participating airlines, which consist of airlines with 1 percent or more of scheduled domestic passenger revenues. A Chi Squared Goodness of Fit test was selected for use. The Chi Squared Goodness of Fit test offered a method to compare categorical data such as on time performance or not on time performance. The two tailed hypothesis test is Ho: Southwest at Oklahoma City airport has the same on time performance as the national rate. Ha: Southwest at Oklahoma City airport does not have the same on time performance as the national rate. As the data was for 2015 this allowed for 12 months of data enabling a df =11 with a desired significance level of 95% О± = .05, power of ОІ = .80, and medium effect size of 0.30 resulting in a desired sample size of 187 which was exceeded as the data includes 17,786 operations. Results The BTS reported a total of 5,819,079 operations nationally with an on time rate of 79.92% and Oklahoma had 17,786 with an on time rate of 77.29%. The national on time rate was applied to the total operations by southwest as shown in Table 1 and resulted in the expected delays in the expected column. Literature Review On PID Controller Chapter 2 Literature Review Theory and law PID Controller PID controller is one of the methods for temperature control and is widely used in process control industry due to simple design and easy to implement in industrial [1]. PID controller consists of three controllers, which is proportional (P) controller, Integral (I) controller, and derivative (D) controller [2]. • 40. Importance Of Experiential Teaching Experiential Teaching Why I vividly remember and most appreciate professors that connected theoretical content of a lecture to their daily practices and experiences. Professors that shared experiential knowledge, allowed me to gain deeper understanding of the content and practical applications. This combination allowed me to quickly implement new practices in my classroom early in my teaching career and tools early in my management career. I hope to be a higher education educator who makes experiential connections and adds a practical dimension to my classes through the incorporation of real world experiences. I believe this will allow future teachers to walk away with practical tools and knowledge to better provide students with a 21st century education. Providing experiential and theoretical knowledge will support teachers professional and academic growth by increasing their overall knowledge. Great teachers are the primary resources for improving instruction and preparing students for the future (Sa, 1997). Students that have access to quality teachers and innovators, stand a greater chance at competing in the workforces and positively impacting their communities (Peske Haycock, 2006). To position our current and future educators for success, professors that can create deep and meaningful connections with their students stand a greater chance of successfully positioning our educators (Bers, 2007). The Comparison of Hinduism and Abrahamic Religions Running Head: The Comparison of Hinduism and Abrahamic Religions The Comparison of Hinduism and Abrahamic Religions By Christa Dunwoody Abstract The differences between Hinduism and Abrahamic Religions are many. The primary difference of beliefs is that Abrahamic Religion believes that there is one God. Hinduism beliefs vary being Pantheistic, monotheistic and polytheistic it is one of the most complex religions of the world. In the comparison of Hinduism and Abrahamic Religion differ on their concept of God. Hindus believe that ones circumstances in life are completely determined by his previous conduct, either in this life or in previous lives. This is called karma. By doing good deeds in this life, therefore, one can improve his circumstances in the future, especially in future reincarnations. (BG, p. 9,10) The final goal is to escape or be released from the cycle of reincarnation. Hindus will seek in life to be set free from birth, death, and rebirth, so that we exist in a state of pure impersonal being without a physical body. Jews, Christians and Muslims believe that man has only one life to live. In contradiction to the doctrine of karma, the Abrahamic religion believe that on earth, men often do not receive fair or just rewards for their lives they get their reward on judgment day. God will judge all men and declare our eternal rewards on the basis of our lives, whether we have lived it good or bad. After judgment, men receive their eternal destinies. The righteous receive eternal life, a state of bliss, in the presence of God. The wicked receive eternal punishment, suffering and sorrow, separated from God. In the Abrahamic religion the gift of life is received after we leave the earth, not on the earth. Finally Hindu s and Abrahamic religions also differ on their concept of Salvation. Hindu s goal is not salvation but to escape the reincarnation cycle. There are several ways in which this can be done: perform good deeds, withdraw from the pleasures ... Right when I put the bear under the blanket, Vera reached under and retrieved the teddy. Since she was able to do that, I tried the A not B error. When I put the teddy under the first blanket, she got it. Then when I put it under the second blanket, she looked under the first blanket. This confirmed Piagets theory of the A not B error (Crosby, 108). I also noticed that Vera enjoys solitary play. If I am in the room with her and sitting on the couch, she will gladly play with her toys alone. This is not an issue at her age. If she continued this past age five or six, then it could be a red flag of something such as anxiety according to Burgess, Rubin, Cheah, and Nelson (Crosby, 489). She also responded to simple requests. For example if you asked for a high five, she would do it. When I started singing When You re Happy and You know it, she could clap. When the refrigerated rail cars came onto the scene, it changed the oyster game. Oysters could now be enjoyed all over the country and Americans loved them, oysters went as far west as the Rocky Mountains! The oyster business was booming. In 1870 one fifth of the men in the entire fishing industry were Chesapeake Bay oystermen. There were twenty six thousand fishermen and processors employed in the Chesapeake oyster industry. The bay then had around forty two thousand boats, just for oystering. On average, they were harvesting fifteen million pounds of oysters a year. In 1885, twenty nine million bushels were harvested. An increased demand led to increases in harvests. The bay quickly began to deplete. From 1865 to 1959 there was a series of disputes that erupted among the various groups of oystermen. Sometimes violent, these disputes caused the government to intervene with a newly created Maryland Oyster Navy. To help regulate the oyster industry a series of steps were taken in the 1880s: a general license system, the oyster police, the Winslow oyster survey, and numerous road and canal expansion projects. The 1890s brought decline in the oyster industry, due to both demand and the depletion of the bay, though by the mid 1900s it was fairly stable. Assimilation In A Raisin In The Sun In A Raisin in the Sun, Lorraine Hansberry shines a spotlight on Beneatha who reinvigorates the belief that freedom is life, and while the Younger family may be free in some ways, society still attempts to confine them in others. Throughout the play Hansberry depicts the restrictions that society has placed on the hopes and dreams of the family, specifically those of Beneatha, Walter, and Mama. Hansberry thus conveys that assimilating into society is negative because by assimilating one is submitting to the limitations society attaches to one s labels. Hansberry communicates that assimilation is negative through her portrayal of assimilation and the beliefs of society as directly responsible for the deference of dreams. Society is responsible for instilling disillusion and defeat within the family to the point that Mama believes that God didn t see fit to give the black man nothing but dreams. The idea that because of their ethnicity, everything they want in life must remain an impossible fantasy. Assimilation has tied Mama to what she has been told is her harsh reality, that she can never own a house and a garden. This saves a lot of time because they do not need to compare different costs at different locations for something they want to buy. This is especially critical for teens these years because they re more cautious with their cash than in previous years (Smith 4). Although people may prefer to shop in stores, they usually cannot find enough time to do so. It is particularly true for teens who do not have driver licenses or other transportation methods and consequently have to go with an adult only when the adults have free time. Is there a general way through human beings and all other forms of life would be distinguished from one another. Both humans and other forms of life on earth have the element of life, the element of survival. Through feeding and excretion they are both similar. In almost every aspect of life for both human and other forms of life, they are identical to each other. If for example, both did not feed, their fate would be equally the same. Through the theory of evolution of man, it is argued that he evolved from the most basic form of life and over the years evolved in what he is today, a prime being, at the top of the list. But what differentiates the two apart. Intellectuality and the ability to use reason is the very fundamental difference between human beings and other forms of life. Having intellect means the ability to use reason to make decisions and choices. There however, is a difference between choices. Choices could either be voluntary or involuntary. Actions that are made through involuntary choices could be termed as the raw instincts elements of man, some of which could probably be compared to those of animals and other living organisms. This in hand would of left Tacitus blaming Augustus as he was the first roman emperor, leaving Tacitus to experience tyranny, corruption and decadence which may explain his bitter and ironic political analysis. This is also seen as his writings are filled with snide remarks (innuendo) of Augustus and essentially how he created corruption, governmental scandal and innocent people being destroyed because of his lust for power.
