Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) diving operations. At that time, I was a member of the United States Naval Reserves; I served as an Explosive
Ordnance Disposal Diver. I was deployed to Sigonella from November 2001–September 2002. There, part of my duties included my service as an EOD

Due to the location of the military installation, divers are usually transported to the ocean by boat, to a dive location usually 30–90 minutes away. If a
diver was stricken, a helicopter was supposed to transport the rescue team, who, once arrived would swim 50–100 yards to the diver, placing him in a
rescue stretcher, and towing him back to the boat. This process alone could take approximately 30 minutes. The helicopter transporting the rescue
team meanwhile would hover overhead. In turn the rescue diver and stricken diver, are at risk because the rescue diver is attempting to swim with
rescue stretcher in tow through rough waters. Assuming they are both able to get onto the boat safely, the rotor wash is still endangering not only the
victim and rescue crew, but everyone on the boat as well, because the rough water could cause the boat to capsize. Under these conditions the stretcher
could not be safely lifted to the helicopter. If the boat did not capsize, it would transport the crew back to base 30–90 minutes away, prolonging the
wait time before the diver could receive medical attention. Under that policy the rescue process could take anywhere from 90 minutes to 3 hours,

Junior Sailor's Life After My Navy
Like many young sailor coming out of boot camp, when I heard the words talk to "THE CHIEF" I had that picture in my head of that mean scruffy
old sailor that drinks at least four cups of coffee and spent an ridiculous amount of time thinking of new ways to make junior sailor's lives
miserable. How ever throughout my career I realized that a chief is more than that. They are mentors, teachers, a shoulder to cry on and for some a
father figure I met many Chiefs throughout my Naval career, some good and some bad. Many of them had a positive impact on my Naval. But there
was one individual who took the time to mold and mentor not just as a junior sailor but also as a man and made the word "CHIEF" take on an entirely
different meaning.
I first I reported to my command that Saturday morning; the base was a ghost town because the command was still moving from Alameda
California to Corpus. My friend Thomas who I met on the plane on the way to Corpus was one of the first to arrive and we were told that my
division already arrived and will we will check in on Monday. We met two guys from the division and Thomas asked about Chief. One of the guys
named Cooper said that people outside of the division thought Chief was mean and grumpy and didn't like to talk to people how ever the way Cooper

Throughout the Civil War the South was Favoured to win the War because of certain advantages; but with certain new unknown types of battles that
started such as naval battles, and improvements to the ships of the Navy can be linked to why the North became the victor of the Civil War. For
centuries before the Civil War, large naval battles had not changed dramatically. Battle in the times before the Civil War were fought by wooden,
sail–driven ships carrying as many cannon as possible, which would shoot at each other until one of them became so damaged that it could not keep

This paper examines Remote Minehunting System (RMS) of Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) in detail. LCS is a fast platform designed for executing
operations in near–shore environments. But, it is capable of conducting open–ocean operation as well. It is designed to defeat asymmetric threats.
Mines, submarines and fast surface craft can be shown as unique examples of asymmetric threats. The LCS, which is a fast, maneuverable surface ship,
provides warfighting capabilities for tasks/missions including mine warfare, anti–submarine warfare (ASW) and anti–surface warfare (ASUW). The
RMS, which will be deployed on LCS, is a component of the LCS Mine Countermeasures (MCM) mission package (MP). The mission package is
called the Remote Minehunting System. The system uses the Remote Multimission Vehicle (RMMV). The RMMV vehicle is produced by Lockheed
Martin. It conducts autonomous and/or semi autonomous missions. It also carries AQS–20A minehunting sonar. The sonar attached to RMMV is
specifically designed for a variable depth forward–looking and side–scanning under sea. Raytheon makes the AQS–20As. The RMS detects, classifies,
and localizes non–buried bottom and moored mines. It also identifies shallow–water bottom mines.

Currently, I am serving on a aircraft carrier where my principal assistance who is the third in charge under a department and assistance department
head (both which are unrestricted line pilots) which mange a 742 people within air department on a nuclear powered aircraft carrier. By design my
position requires me to report all matters to the department head first pertaining to the aviation fuels system. Out of respect to my principal assistance

They understand that their skiffs and small weapons are no real match against the manpower, firepower, and endurance of a naval vessel. At the same
time, these criminals also understand that anti–piracy navy operations are expensive and cannot cover the entire Gulf of Aden. "Once pirates get control
of a ship, it is very unusual for naval forces to be able to intervene successfully; the risks to the ship's crew are too high" says Hughes (2013, para. 10).
With this in mind, shipping companies approached this problem with a hands–on strategy.
To put it differently, naval patrols off the coast of Somalia have not been as effective against piracy as expected. Consequently, the maritime shipping
industry turned to the private security industry for a solution. As a result, most ships that transit piracy "hot spots" like the Gulf of Aden have armed
security teams on board, much like mercenaries. According to Rix (as cited in "Tide turns against pirates," 2013), ships provided with an armed

uniforms of wool, the men struggled against the heat. Many soldiers who brought rations of food along often discovered that it had spoiled. Soon
many of them became ill from malaria, fever, and dysentery.
After a few brief encounters, the Spanish and American armies confronted each other at the San Juan hills. The Spanish highly defended the hills along

While analyzing the North Africa conflict, a combination of service capabilities would be required to achieve the desired end state of deterring and if

that exists today, a joint task force (JTF) would be the ideal military response of the United States and collation partner's while utilizing the regional
military assets. Intelligence suggests guerilla forces are capable of a full scale offensive into Morocco in less than 36 hour notice, bringing the factors

Captain O'Hara was happy to be in the fold again, he had word that the West Coast was attempting to send help via the Panama Canal. He didn't
have the specifics nor did he know what they were sending. He hoped they were sending ships, it would be great to feel like he was actually back

May 11, 2015 The morning of December 7, 1941 was a day like another for the majority of Americans, but that day changed the course of American
history with the surprise attacks on the United States naval base in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. How much of a surprise was that attack, however? When
President Franklin Roosevelt's spoke to Congress on December 8th, he said "[t]he United States was at the moment at peace with that nation [the
Japanese Empire] and was still in conversation with its Government and its Emperor looking toward the maintenance of the peace in the Pacific."1
Almost immediately after the news of the bombing became public, a large number of conspiracy theorist began speculating that the attack on Pearl
Harbor was not as much of a surprise as the American people were lead to believe. They claim the attack was triggered by President Roosevelt
intentionally provoking Japan with a long series of actions into a situation where they felt like they had no other choice but to attack the United
States. All of these events took place long before the actual attack on Pearl Harbor and ultimately shaped the fate of the United States and the world.

benefit of the EMP event that it happened on a weekend late in the evening which meant there wasn't a great deal of traffic on the roads. Post

I Believe in Service to Your Country I often hear that destiny has been predetermined for each individual. On the other hand, I prefer to believe that I
control my own. My brother, sister, and I are first generation in this great country. The opportunity to reach the American dream was presented to my
parents and they graciously took advantage. Every day I am grateful to have been born in this country, and always knew that one day I would serve
the United States of America. The clock ticked away, and the time to face the inevitable had arrived. I was twenty–one years old when I stepped into
the Navy recruiter's office. I was set on a speedy course to find a field for me in the military, and soon I was on a plane towards Great Lakes,
Illinois. One month exactly had passed, from when I signed my contract to when I stepped into the Recruit Training Command in Great Lakes.
When I trained in boot camp, I had been introduced to new values and beliefs. Hard work and dedication were a requirement everyday with no
exceptions. I had met fellow sailors from all over the U.S and even other countries. I had instantly found my call, and could not get enough of the
new elements I was introduced to. For the first time in my life, I was assigned to be a leader and I naturally took to the assignment. The formula was

This case deals with the recently cancelled project that was sponsored by the U.S Navy after spending over $13 billion in research and development.
U.S congress announced to cancel the missile destroyer (Z–class warship) after completing the construction of two ships. This decision was taken due

The Zumwalt–class destroyer design included a tumblehome hull, which is an inverted bow. The tumblehome hull had two big benefits. First being that

Once the crew saw how critical Carl 's injuries were ,they sent the bomb back to the depths and airlifted Carl to an airbase in spain. From there he

Honor is the pride and respect of veterans who served their country and kept it safe. How one person thanks the veterans is different from another.
However, honor and morals sometimes get confused during the time of war. The Navy sometimes names their ships after war heroes for their actions
and bravery. However, shouldn't the military do that for all veterans alive or dead? Some veterans don't even get the honor and respect they earned for
serving their country. When Veteran's Day became an official holiday in theUnited States, Americans honored them by giving out discounts or free
items for that day. Many restaurants such as Applebee's and Olive Garden give discounts or free food to veterans as a thank you to them for their
service. Some veterans wear their uniforms when going out on this day. Some places have parades for the veterans in honor of them. Memorial
Day and Independence Day in some Americans eyes can be considered a time to honor veterans as well. On Independence Day most Americans
wear red, white and blue and shoot off fireworks and play music not only to celebrate America's birthday, but to honor all the men and women who
died in battle as well as honor the ones that are alive. Some veterans have reunions after the time they served with the people who was with them
during that time. Anywhere a reunion is being held like, the beach or in a major city like Boston or Jacksonville, etc. Hotels will give big discounts

In a final twist of fate, the men threw down Carl's tool bag but not before slashing a hole in the side allowing all the tools and supplies to sink
separately. Most men would have given up but Carl persevered. Finding every piece and working slowly Carl remained under water while every
other diver surfaced. The top navy commander gave orders to Sunday to make sure Carl didn't get back up until he stopped moving. Sunday was
unable to follow these orders and worked on motivating Carl to surface. Carl was determined to finish the task and refused to leave until it was done.
He didn't say he couldn't finish and he never once complained about the unfair situation. Instead, he stayed put until the task at hand was complete.
Nine hours later Carl appeared, shaking and slightly blue. He climbed out of the water, but not before showing the group, that had gathered, his
completion of the project. Thus, making Carl an official Navy Diver.
Soon after, Carl graduated diving school. He began receiving jobs on navel ships. While away, on mission, he left his wife, Jo, and their son behind.
Carl never had many problems with diving. However on one mission, Carl had to find a bomb that was in the ocean from an old attack. While on the
ocean floor a Russian submarine began to approach. Carl barely made it away from the submarine. Through the dust, Carl saw what the submarine had
uncovered; the bomb. Once Carl surfaced he was immediately deemed a hero and everyone was extremely joyful.
