Opioid Agonist Therapy
Opiods are the group of drugs which act on the opioid receptor and cause relief from the pain. This
group consists of both prescription opioids used for moderate to severe pain relief and illicit drug like
heroin. According to CDC, from 2000 to 2015 more than half a million people died from opioid
overdose (CDC, 2017). According to National Institute on Drug Abuse, total economic burden of
prescription opioid overdose, abuse and dependence in the U.S tends to be around $78.5 billion
(Florence et al., 2016). Risk factor for opioid addiction tends to be substance abuse and high
prescribed dosage for a longer period of time. The use of opioid is seen common in both genders,
between 22 55 years, non Hispanic whites, living in poor neighborhood and in rural areas (Rudd et al.,
2016; Hasegawa,Espinola, et al.,2014; Macarena C. Garcia,2017). Also it is common in patients with
HIV because they are prone to various opportunistic infections which tend to be very painful. Thus,
the study to understand the effect of opioids on patients with HIV is very important. ... Show more

The Rise and Fall of Richard the Third Essay
amp;#9;Much debate and controversy surround the rise and fall of Richard the Third. It is hard to
ignore such subjects due to the bonds and hidden reasons that many of the authors of the middle ages
had towards Richard. In keeping an objective approach towards Richard III, the study of his rise and
fall will be taken in the perspective of his royal acts and administration of England. Public sentiment
over such things as the scandal surrounding the princes did have an effect over the rule of Richard, but
there are many other underlying aspects that could have extended Richards rule, and changed the way
history looks back on him.

They had news that the Woodvilles were conspiring against Gloucester in order to take control of
England immediately. While parliament anxiously awaited Gloucester s explanation for his actions,
Richard did not meet with much adversity from the people upon his arrival to London. They felt he
was doing his duty, as no one suspected him of aspiring to anything but regent. Richard was then
formally installed as Protectorate of England, but Richard realized that his power would not last
forever, possibly four to five years.
In prior years, Richard had gained much public support and accolades for his part in fighting Scotland.
He uses this support in his next step of a move for the throne. In the past there had been rumors of
Edward the IV being illegitimate, now there was evidence that Edward s son was illegitimate as well,
as Edward IV had not been legally wed to Elizabeth when they had Edward V. Upon hearing this
news, Richard chose to proceed with caution, only telling chief political players and asking their
advice. Richard was wise for these actions. He had been known for his prudence in the past in the war
with Scotland. When Edward IV wanted a crushing blow to the Scots, Richard realized that it would
be too costly and at the same time England had already accomplished a great feat. Richard pushed

So, as we know about the meaning of health care now we are going to evaluate about the external
environment of health care organization which we known as PEST analysis. Political, economical,
social and technological influences to the health sector. As we consider, PEST analysis is the most
external influences and important for the future of the organisation. The main aim of the PEST
analysis is to identify the kind of barrier which impact on the organisation in the future so we can take
the decisions and make the solutions for the further development of the health care
industry/organisation. As we fully understand the pestal analysis, we can minimize the coming threats
and take the advantages of opportunity.
* Political environment: Any of the government policies which is influenced by the economic
conditions is referred as political environment: which involves the changes in the policies of the
country. As the government in the UK, the government needs to cut the public spending in the health
care sector through providing the free health service facilities. In many countries, public sector
organisation tasks should be increasing more effectively and efficiency. For example; ambulance

Causes Of The Black Death
The plague, a mutated bacteria, spread rapidly throughout Europe because of the lack of sanitary
conditions and trade routes At first, people were unaware of the causes of the illness. The plague is
caused by a mutated bacteria called Yersinia pestis. It was named after Alexandre Yersin, a biologist
who discovered it in 1894 ( Black Death ). The lack of cleanliness in the Elizabethan Era contributed
to the rapid spread of the plague. Sanitation lacked immensely in large cities, such as London. There
were open sewers, garbage everywhere, and no running water. Fleas, lice, and rats flourished in the
environment (Alchin, Elizabethan Medicine and Illnesses ). The inhabitants of England did not
suspect that the plague was being carried around by rodents and insects. Although, animals and insects
are not to be the only ones blamed for spreading the plague, the movement of people along trades
routes also contributed. ...evidence available from rural continental Europe suggests a slow spread of
human mortality across trade and travel roots... (Carmichael). The plague, also known as the Black
Death, killed people by the thousands due to its lethal symptoms and its unknown origins. There was
no cure to the plague, and once the illness was contracted, the victim could only await death. The
victims suffered from several symptoms including painful swelling in the armpits, legs, neck, and
groin. Other symptoms included a very high fever, mental disorientation, vomiting, muscular pain,

VAP is a growing problem in health care facilities which increases the cost of patient care and
increases patient care time, hospital length of stay, and patient morbidity. Ventilator associated
pneumonia increases healthcare costs by more than $40,000 per hospitalized patient (Lisboa, Kollef,
Rello, 2008). Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services plan to stop paying hospitals for necessary
care caused by preventable complications including nosocomial infections resulting in unintended
fiscal circumstances (Lisboa et al.). 2 The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) established
recommended guidelines to decrease the risk of VAP. It is these best practice interventions that nurses
should follow when caring for mechanically ventilated patients. The 2003 CDC guidelines reported
that 63% of admitted patients in the ICU have oral colonization associated with a pathogen resulting
from VAP (Cason, Tyner, Saunders, Broome, 2007). The CDC provided a set of seven guidelines to
reduce risks related to hand washing, wearing gloves, suctioning, elevated head of bed (HOB),
education, oral hygiene program, and use of antiseptic rinse. Studies suggested that best practices for
reducing VAP were not consistently implemented. According to the Centers for Disease Control,
Pseudomonas aeruginosa and gram positive Staphylococcus aureus were the two most common
bacteria linked to VAP (Babcock et al., 2004). Pseudomonas

Progressive Education Essay
John Keating, a student at Welton Academy inspired his fellow classmates, to meet in caves and read
challenging poetry of the past, not with flashcards, but with these words, Now, my class, you will
learn to think for yourselves again. You will learn to savor words and language. No matter what
anybody tells you, words and ideas can change the world. Typically, students do not hear enough of
this type of passion in a traditional classroom. However, a progressive classroom, be it a cave or
college can inspire students to memorize facts, not because they have to, but rather because they want
to for the betterment of humanity. Society desperately needs students educated in a progressive style
because America needs students who realize ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Educational philosopher, Marie Montessori was a strong advocate for such learning, particularly for
children under age three who have a strong interest in learning through the use of movement and
verbal play (So what s Montessori and Piaget?).
John Dewey, another educational philosopher believed Education is a social process. Education is
growth. Education is, not a preparation for life; education is life itself. (Inc.) He felt that learning took
place only when students had internalized what they had gained through experience and practiced it in
their own lives. In a progressive classroom, the teacher designs experiences for students with the idea
that through experience, students build knowledge and skills. A society of individuals conforming to
studying flashcards may be good, but a society of literate individuals consciously aware of why and
how the facts on the flashcards and in mass media can solve new problems is better.
A progressive classroom looks different, and a progressive teacher inspires unique thinking in
individual students differently, as well. Instead of being strict with a set curriculum and specific
subject to cover, teachers find their students present interests, abilities, and needs. Developing

The Theme Of Bondage And Freedom
The Theme of Bondage and Freedom in African American Literature Shayla Carew Liberty University
Author Note: Shayla Carew, Master s of Teaching and Learning English program, Liberty University.
Contact: scarew@liberty.edu Abstract Black history is significant not only as a part of the black
community, but as a critical part of American history for all races and genders. Because of the
importance of the history of African Americans, Black History Month is celebrated annually. During
this special time of remembrance, people of different races take time to reflect on the historical events
that not only shaped the history of African Americans, but the history of America. There are a variety
of methods used in comprehending black history. Reading African American literature allows readers
to gain a higher quality understanding of the events that shaped black history. This paper will closely
examine the theme of bondage and freedom, which is a prominent theme in African American
literature that speaks volumes about black history. Introduction Due to recent events, black history has
been frequently discussed. For many African Americans, the racial tensions being exemplified today
bring back painful memories in the history of black people. An enormous fraction of black history
involves the subject of bondage and freedom the African slaves experienced. Understanding how far
the African American people have come is important in comprehending the feelings

We By Zamyatin
Seeing Totalitarianism The book WE is a novel written in 1921 by a Russian author named Yevgeny
Zamyatin, in which the future is depicted as totalitarian and possibly dystopian society. A totalitarian
society because the government is centralized and dictatorial, a dystopian society because the
community depicted in the novel is undesirable and frightening by the standards of the day. The style
in which Zamyatin wrote the novel is graphic in both the visual context and the ideology of the story.
The book is written in journal form and which provides the reader insight into the intimate thoughts
and observations of the main character. Throughout the novel, the reader is able begin to comprehend
the world in which the protagonist D 503 ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This observation by D 503 tells the reader just how regulated the life is within the One State, and how
freedom has been expunged. The Table of Hours is an example of subservience to the One State
through time management; this is a defining principle of a totalitarian system. The One State was
created by ridding the world of hunger and love, the two things thought to rule the world before the
war. Sex has not ceased to exist; it is arranged by the numbers, but is not completely organized. The
ever present numerical references by the author, insures the reader has better insight into the world in
which WE portrays; one of precise organization and unwavering monotony. Early into the journal, D
503 describes his world in the vocabulary of angles and expresses his surroundings as transparent; this
is a reflection of his life. The city in which he lives is made up of clear glass, one in which you can be
observed. Totalitarian architecture is without the softness of unutilized space such as gardens and
parks. The word clear comes up often in his vocabulary and his thoughts and is ongoing image which
is imprinted in his mind. Panopticon, the type of institutional buildings which allows a watchman to
observe, is indicative of totalitarian architecture in

The Book The Outsiders By S. E. Hinton
The book outsiders by S.E Hinton is action packed and breathtaking. The theme leaves off a very
powerful message as well. The author makes me believe that one of the biggest themes would be,
money doesn t make who you are. These are the three quotes that support my decision. My first quote
is when Randy was in the car talking to Ponyboy; Greaser didn t have anything to do with it. My
buddy over there wouldn t of done it. Maybe you would have done the same thing, maybe a friend of
yours wouldn t have. It s the individual ( Hinton 115 ). The reason why I picked this quote is because,
Randy s buddy is a Soc who has a lot of money. When Randy was saying this he meant that no matter
what the social class and how much money someone had they most likely wouldn t of done it. This
means that Ponyboy was really brave and did the right thing even though he is a greaser. Which is not
very common since society has it in people s minds that greasers are bad and don t do the right thing.

This is a quote about what Ponyboy was thinking in his head. No, it wasn t cherry the soc who was
helping us, it was cherry the dreamer who watched sunsets and couldn t stand fights. ( Hinton 86 ).
This is why I used this quote. At that time Ponyboy wasn t classifying Cherry as a Soc but instead was
thinking of her more highly and just a normal person like him. Which is unusual since in their society
since Socs were higher class, but the author was trying to make it clear in this sentence that it wasn t

Gang Prevention Programs And Their Effectiveness
I. Overview of the topic/problem statement
My topic is to discover gang prevention programs and their effectiveness. The prevention programs
being discussed are the G.R.E.A.T. program and the Comprehensive Anti Gang Initiative (CAGI). The
problem is that these prevention methods are not effective in alternatives to gang life. The alternatives
could include family, protection, and these support that gangs give to their members. If these programs
are not successful in offering these alternatives then the program will not be as effective. My goal was
to test these programs by using a new classification of gang control strategies. This topic is important

Before the revision of the G.R.E.A.T. program the program evaluation was not good (Esbensen, F.,
Peterson, D., Taylor, T., Freng, A., Osgood, D., Carson, D., Matsuda, K. ,2011). Finn Aage Esbensen
(2011), did a study on G.R.E.A.T. students versus Non G.R.E.A.T. students to monitor their attitudes
and whether the behavioral goals were achieved (Esbensen, F., Peterson, D., Taylor, T., Freng, A.,
Osgood, D., Carson, D., Matsuda, K. ,2011). The differences the G.R.E.A.T. students showed were
lower levels of victimization and risk seeking tendencies, more prosocial peers, more negative views
about gangs, and more positive views of law enforcement (Esbensen, F., Peterson, D., Taylor, T.,
Freng, A., Osgood, D., Carson, D., Matsuda, K. ,2011). Furthermore, there were no differences
between G.R.E.A.T. and non G.R.E.A.T. students in levels of delinquency, violence, or gang
membership (Esbensen, F., Peterson, D., Taylor, T., Freng, A., Osgood, D., Carson, D., Matsuda, K.
,2011). . Importantly, the five significant differences did not emerge until 3 or 4 years after program
exposure; the earlier analyses conducted just 2 years post program revealed no differences at all
between the experimental and comparison groups (Esbensen, F., Peterson, D., Taylor, T., Freng, A.,
Osgood, D., Carson, D., Matsuda, K. ,2011). The significant 3 and 4 year results support lagged

Mi5 s Double Cross System Analysis
During the course of the Second World War the Allied and Axis power engaged in a war of espionage,
that cemented the need for counter Intelligence and espionage units in a country s arsenal. Due largely
to the effectiveness of MI5 s Double Cross System in its deception of the Abwehr (German
Intelligence Agency during World War 2) and the successful nature of operation fortitude. As well as
German Spymaster Admiral Wilhelm Carnaris disbelief in Hitler s Ideologies, the British had a
victorious outcome in the intelligence war.
In the battle for supremacy effective counter espionage played a larger role in the Britain s success.

Operation Fortitude was the principle deception campaign intended to persuade the enemy that the
expected allied invasion of France would occur at Pas de Calais. A secondary objective was to convey
the impression that the landings in Normandy were merely a divisionary feint, which could be safely
ignored. The task of supplying this information rested with Juan Pujol (agent Garbo) who was highly
regarded by Abwehr (MI5 History, 2016). Operation fortitude became a textbook example of how
strategic deception should be conducted and captured documents demonstrated that the enemy was
duped not just about the date and place of the main allied offensive but even accepted that an entirely
fictional army The First US Army Group (FUSAG) had assembled in south east England in
anticipation of crossing the channel from dover. (BBC History, 2011). Sharma (2015, p.95)
corroborates this by writing Operation fortitudes focal point for the false invasion would take place on
Pas de Calais and after D day the FUSAG would strike there. Garbo sent information in the troops
building up and reported that it looked as if the regiments stationed there were gearing for an assault.
The Germans accepted the claim as accurate. It deceived them so completely that through July and

Criteria For The Labelling Of Smes
on the criteria set by a particular country. The criteria for the categorization of SMEs can be scaled by
looking at the company s turnover sales, some countries look at the number of employees in the
business and there are countries which perceived SMEs based on mixed criteria. In addition, global
organization entities such as European Commission and World Bank also have their own views on
how to identify SMEs.
The European Commission states that the criterion of the number of staff as the main criterion,
however, introducing a financial criterion is nonetheless a necessary adjunct in order to grasp the real
scale and performance of an enterprise and its position compared to its competitors (European
Commission: 2003, item 4). Figure 1.0 below is an illustration of SMEs definition by the European

The Great Pyramid Of Giza Research Paper
The Great Pyramid of Giza was one of the seven wonders of the world because of its size, its
background, and the amount of time it took to build. The Great Pyramid of Giza is a very important
artifact to us today and in the Ancient world. The size of the Great Pyramid of Giza helped make it
one of one of the seven wonders of the world. The Pyramid itself is 481 feet tall and the workers
actually had to make ramps to get the two and a half to fifteen ton blocks into the higher level of the

largest Pyramid ever built still to this day (Bower). The Pyramid had three burial chambers for the
Pharaoh and his family. The chambers had to have six roofs to hold the heavy amount of weight of the

The Creation Of Policies And Procedures Essay
The Creation of Policies and Procedures A Policy and Procedure Manual is a vital to the efficiency,
morale, and all overall productivity of any company. This manual informs the employees of the
company s vision and purpose and the steps needed to incorporate that vison into their everyday duties
and tasks; therefore, producing continuity and efficiency within the company by eliminating confusion
and empowering the employees with knowledge and a sense of belonging and pride. The company s

When writing a Policy and Procedure Manuel, it is important to understand the definition of a policy
and the definition of a procedure. A policy is a set of rules and regulations for accomplishing a task
and a procedure will articulate the details on how to accomplish that task. As Stephen Butler Page
states in his book, Establishing a System of Policies and Procedures: Setting up a Successful Policies
and Procedures System for Printed, On line, and Intranet Manuals:
Policies and procedures are like a state road map. The map at a glance shows areas of interest and the
general direction in which to travel to reach a desired estimation. The roads on the map provide

A Streetcar Named Desire, Literary Analysis Essay
A Streetcar Named Desire by Tennessee Williams Stella has embraced him with both arms, fiercely,
and full in the view of Blanche. He laughs and clasps her head to him. Over her head he grins through
the curtains at Blanche. (Williams 73) A Streetcar Named Desire written by Tennessee Williams
exemplifies the theme of a struggle to attain happiness. The play not only portrays this theme in its
characters and setting, but through the literary devices of Foil, Imagery, and Intertextuality. Williams
took great care in applying each of these literary device techniques to the theme as he presents an
intriguing contrast between Blanche and Stanley, vivid images both animalistic and broken, and
imploring the use of the Odyssey to further ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The low moans of the clarinet and the blue piano all portray the image of what an animal would do.
(Williams 129) Another form of imagery in the play is broken images. There is the broken mirror and
Mitch tearing the lamp. There is also Blanche s husband Hickey killing himself. There is also the loss
of the baby which is a broken part of the story. Intertextuality is the shaping of texts meanings by
other texts. Williams uses this literary device by referring to Book Nine of the Odyssey. Blanche is
equal to deception. She is always flirting with some man especially Stanley. Anytime she gets the
chance while Stella is out of the room. Blanche is like Odysseus because she is very well aware of her
deceptive truths. She uses them to manipulate in situations. She blinds Stanley by her deceptive ways.
Intertextuality is also used in the image of Cyclopes. Stanley portrays the image of Cyclopes. He is
also referred to as One eye monster, in the play. He is referred to this character because of his strong
will and physically strong, but he falls easily into Blanche s trap of being blinded. Although there are
many other literary devices that are used throughout A Streetcar Named Desire these devices work
together in unison to thoroughly express the theme in their struggle to attain happiness. Though they
try very hard the happiness is never really gained. These literary devices are used to create an

Cost Allocation
Cost Allocation
ACC/561

Cost Allocation
The purpose of cost allocation is to identify and correctly allocate costs associated with a job, product,
or service. The main uses of cost allocation are to facilitate decision making regarding costs, justify
prices charged for products and services, cost control, and for optimal utilization of resources. There
are several methods used for cost allocation, depending on the type of product or service offer by the
company.
Variable cost allocation includes only variable manufacturing costs, such as direct materials, direct
labor, and variable manufacturing overhead. Absorption cost allocation includes manufacturing costs,
including both variable and fixed overhead as ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Step method of cost allocation, allocates costs between service departments in steps, starting with
the service department that provides the most service to the other service departments. After this
allocation takes place, the next step in the process allocates costs to the department that provides the
next most service. This keeps stepping down until all costs have been allocated between service
departments (Accounting For Management, 2012).
The Reciprocal method of allocating costs takes into account all activity between both
interdepartmental service departments and operational departments. For instance, the custodial
department services both the mail room and the manufacturing department. The cost of the portion of
custodial service provided to the mailroom would be allocated directly to the mailing department, and
cost of the portion of custodial service provided to the manufacturing department would be allocated
directly to the manufacturing department. Unlike the step method that only allocates forward from the
service departments providing the most service to those providing least, the reciprocal method can
work backward. At the same time costs of the custodial department are being allocated to the mail
room (because of the mail room being cleaned), the mail room will allocate costs to the custodial
department for the mail that needs to be picked up and delivered there. Thus, reciprocal activity is

Analysis Of Color And I Love Lucy
Color Lighting: How To Get Away With Murder I Love Lucy
How To Get Away With Murder, a modern 2015 law and murder television drama, and I Love Lucy, a
1951 live audience comedic sitcom, hold many differences in regards to color and lighting usage.
However, if thoroughly analyzed similarities can be discovered.
In the season finale of How To Get Away With Murder, the director makes great use of color by means
of transitional color, surrealism, color as a symbol, special effect colors, atmospheric colors, comic
colors and advancing colors. The director effectively uses color as a transition from past to present.
Dark green tinted scenes are used to signal a flashback to past. Soon thereafter, normal realistic colors
returned during present scene. Specific examples of this transition is when the audience is flashed
back to when Sam was murdered, when Annalise discovered his infidelity and when she found his
dead body inside their home. Realistic colors resumed after these scenes. Moreover, surrealism is
present in this episode, specifically when Annalise discovers Sam s dead body dripping with blood on
the wooden floor. The dark green atmospheric tints used in this scene altered the blood s red to appear
additionally nightmarish (Petrie Boggs, 2011, p. 204). Also, the colors in this specific scene contribute
to three dimensionality. The dark nature of this scene and green filter that succumbs the past, almost
makes Annalise blend into the night but her bright read

Rulers That Followed the Prince by Machiavelli
Niccolò Machiavelli suggested in The Prince that a ruler should behave as both a fox and a lion, being
both loved and feared. There are clever rulers who were strategic, courageous rulers who were
effective, and successful rulers who possessed both qualities. Elizabeth I of England and Henery IV of
France were two great rulers from Europe that were able to personify Machiavelli s advice. Elizabeth I
of England was able to act as a fox by preventing England from being torn apart over matters of
religion. By repealing The Catholic Legislation of Mary Tudor s reign, she was able to make the New
Act of Supremacy which dsignated her as the supreme govenor of spritual and temporal affairs. Also

Everyone knows how hard it would have been to escape Alcatraz and live, so escape attempts were
rarely rewarding. Alcatraz was open for twenty nine years and only had fourteen escape attempts with
thirty six involved prisoners overall. No attempts were considered successful. One prisoner actually
made it to San Francisco, but was promptly arrested and returned. Two inmates drowned in the bay
and six were shot dead during their attempts. Twenty three were captured and returned, but five were
never found. Prisoner officials say the five prisoners must have also drowned. The first escape attempt
was made in April, 1936, by Joseph Bowers, prisoner 210. He was shot and killed. The Battle of
Alcatraz is considered one of the bloodiest escape attempts in the history of Alcatraz. It s also known
as the Alcatraz Blast Out . On May 2, 1946, six prisoners tried to take control of the main building.
They were able to overpower the guards and the battle lasted two days. Two officers were killed and
many others had several injuries. Three out of the six prisoners who attempted to escape died in battle.
Finally, on May 4, reinforcements came and took control. The living three inmates went on trial for

Sociological Research On Social And Class Differences
Various statistical techniques are used in sociological research in order to study the social world.
These may include measures to describe data dispersion, as well as analytical methods such as latent
class analysis. Each technique can provide distinct approaches to answering a research question, as
they may emphasize specific factors or lead to different ways to structure results. Consequently, it
becomes particularly important to consider one s choice of measures and methods, as depending on
the ones used, both the conclusion itself and interpretations of it may be affected, along with wider
understandings of social reality. To begin, quantitative social research will often employ statistical
measures to determine the central tendency of a given dataset. These measures, including mean,
median, and mode, are used to calculate typical values of the center of a probability distribution. Since
they are focused on average values, measures of central tendency are useful tools in understanding the
typical situations or experiences of social groups. This makes them especially helpful in understanding
social inequality and class differences because they facilitate comparison of data for multiple groups.
For instance, to determine levels of economic inequality in relation to gender, one could calculate the
mean incomes of males and females in a given city and compare them. However, it is crucial to
consider the effects of these different measures of central tendency, as the

Socrates and True Knowledge

philosophy it is well known that it is powerful and dangerous. Philosophy has many reasons for its
importance such as how to understand your ideas, the origin of your ideas, how to contrast arguments.
Philosophy can also help you defend arguments, read it, build your position and understand it.
Philosophy is used for the betterment of the world, gender, race, civilization, town, state, country, etc.

This becomes the soul of his progression to learning about true knowledge as this is a pure display of
ignorance, A pretense of ignorance and of willingness to learn from another assumed in order to make
the other s false conception conspicuous by adroit reasoning (Vlastos 2). This will be later and
formally known as Socratic irony. Socrates goes on to develop criteria necessary for such knowledge
which drives onto the ethics of life, or the proper way on behaving. According to Socrates the criteria
is to determine whether something is right or wrong and that one shouldn t concern themselves with
the outcome but whether the act was just or unjust, which brings morality into the picture. Socrates
believed that in order for morality to exist depended on whether one had knowledge of such
definitions. So in essence, virtue is knowledge, if you know what is right, you will do what is right.
The necessity and sufficiency for moral behavior hinged upon knowing a Socratic definition. This in
the end depicts to us the difference between a life lived with pleasure or utilitarian goals, a life lived
honorably. So in reality to practice philosophy is to practice for dying and death, which is the
separation of body and soul. The soul referring to matters of ideas and intellect and body to material
matters. Philosophy thus teaches us how to care more for our mind than our body and to move away
from body because the body is an obstacle to gaining

How Did The Cuban Regime Change Cuba In The 19th Century
At first glance, Cuba is a paradise, surrounded by green landscapes and shimmering oceans, yet
internally the fight for power takes over the country. In the 19th century, many Cuban s wanted to be
in power, although all for different reasons. Fulgencio Batista was known as a dictator, seen as the
enemy by many, but an ally to the United States. On the other hand, Fidel Castro was fighting against
Batista opposing everything Batista fought for. These two leaders were conflicting, both in their goals
for the country of Cuba, and their allies. As the leader of Cuba changed constantly from Batista to
Castro, the Cuban regime changed. This regime change influenced both American History and
Caribbean History. The regime change influenced many changes to history, like: the immigration of
Cubans to the United States, the Cuban Revolution, the Bay of Pigs, and more. Fulgencio Batista and
Fidel Castro, both Cuban leaders, influenced yet complicated the relationship between Cuba and the
United States a tremendous amount due to their opposing views and allies.

The first stroke we learned to do was how to do the freestyle stroke. With this stroke, you must focus
on reaching out in front as far as possible, and pulling the water back behind you while kicking in a
fluttering motion. The motion of your arms should look like a windmill spinning. In the backstroke,
the swimmer has his or her back facing the bottom of the pool while flutter kicking their feet and
doing their arm strokes. The way the backstroke is different is because with the arm stroke your arm is
going in the opposite direction as the freestyle stroke and you must let your outside little finger enter
the water first for the most efficient way to catch and push the water. Lastly, we learned the
breaststroke. In the breaststroke, your legs are kicking in a frog like way to push the water back with
the bottoms of your feet. In the youtube video it says that you must sweep your arms outward while
trying to catch as much water possible. When at the end of the arm stroke, the swimmer s head can
come out of the water to take a breathe. Those are each of the stroke we have used during class time in

Restaurant Seasonality Essay
Seasonality of the Restaurant Industry: Friend or Foe? The restaurant industry can be a fickle friend.
Business trends directly with the economy and is linked with a dizzying amount of other factors,
enough to make any manager go crazy. Yet at the same time the industry is lucrative and therefore
enticing. The industry has been a contributing factor in the slow recovery from economic recession
and is showing growth in sales (Stensson, 2011). Specifically, the fast food industry if projected to
grow at a slightly higher rate of 3.3% over that of the full service industry at 3.1% (Stensson, 2011).

Funding the tourist season faculty can be fickle as well. Many restaurants that rely on snow or sun for
the tourist crowd must close down in the off season while still paying the fixed costs associated with
restaurant ownership like rent and utilities (Brumback, 2000). Though tourism in the U.S. is on the
rise in 2011 and 2012 it has a direct link to weather trends and when $1 of every $3 spent in the
restaurant industry, according to the National Restaurant Association, is tourism related the reliance on
weather can be huge (Elan, 2011). Obviously restaurants have been able to weather the seasons of
food service seasonality. It is not a new topic but a continuous challenge which must be addressed,
met, and overcome. But how? Over the years owners and managers alike have tried several angles in
combating seasonal lulls and drops in business. There are five basic areas that seem to have the most
success: seasonal marketing, seasonal menus, seasonal posturing, using holidays or seasonal peaks as
targeting opportunity, and brand or business loyalty. When a corporation recognizes where the
seasonal weak points in business are during the year it can use promotions and strategic marketing to
even out inconsistencies in sales. Seasonal menus can be twofold assets due to current customer
demands as well as cheaper cost of production. Seasonal posturing refers to being prepared for high

During the revolution, several African American slaves served in the revolutionary war from both
sides of the war. Moreover, this revolutionary war of independence helped the slaves in getting their
independence as well. This is when several thousands of the slaves attained the status of independence
by running away. As a result of the revolution, the slaves started to fight against the slavery after
getting the encouragement from the natural right philosophy of the seventeenth century English

of America. This natural right philosophy is nothing else but the right to life and liberty that the

African American against the slavery, the slaves began to appeal the Congress in order to destruct the
slavery. Furthermore, under the new constitution, the slaves were considered as 3/5 as productive as a

Death of a parent and the children s experience: Don t ignore the elephant in the room
The article Death of a parent and the children s experience, is a very interesting and informative piece.
The author Rachel Fearnley, gives a powerful presentation on a child s bereavement process. Many
believe that children are unable to comprehend till the later adolescences but that death of a parent
causes many developmental issues if gone unresolved. All children handle death or loss in different
ways but according her extensive studies, all age groups displayed the same developmental issues.
The studies conducted were not only with children but in how caregivers also approached the
bereavement children. The evidence from the current research would suggest that there is a stigma
attached to talking about death and dying and that practitioners find it difficult and embarrassing to
discuss such topics. This sequestration leads to a pattern of communicating that avoids any
involvement of such unmentionable vocabulary. Additionally, within social work practice, it has been
highlighted that practitioners are frequently required to talk with children about complicated and
painful issues and during uncertain times in their lives (Lefevre et al., 2008, p. 171). The need for

Why We Need A Minimum Wage By Frances Coppola
Source 5:
Why We Need a Minimum Wage, an article by Forbes writer Frances Coppola. Coppola is also a
blogger who is frequently quoted in The Economist, The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and
the Guardian.
This article was published on JAN 13, 2014 @ 10:06 AM, on
https://www.forbes.com/sites/francescoppola/2014/01/13/why we need a minimum
wage/#2691e571380b. Its intended audience includes Forbes subscribers, and other online readers in
the general public.
This is an opinion piece, as its title gives a clear opinion; we need a minimum wage. Throughout the
article it mentions examples of countries that lack minimum wages, and how he U.S. and the UK have
been better off with a minimum wage.
A. Arguments/claims
i. I would like to see the end of sanctions for refusing jobs, the elimination of workfare schemes, and
the provision of a basic income replacing both in work and out of work benefits, says Coppola.
Replace the cheap benefits for survivable pay, and eliminate sanctions and workfare schemes that are
denying individuals to work and receive fair pay. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This simple analysis does of course assume that unemployment is a real threat to a worker s standard
of living. But arguments that the unemployed choose leisure imply that unemployment is a choice.
Employers argue that unemployment is not their fault, it s the employees who choose to be lazy. iii. If
a firm can t pay its workers enough to live on, then it isn t a viable business, because it is dependent
on wage subsidies. This is why businesses must cut jobs, if they cannot meet minimum wages at the
very least, it is totally unfair, and

Iago Is The Focaling Character In Shakespeare s Othello
In some plays or books, the title character is in the focal role. However, this is not the case for other
books where characters in the title character s orbit are the focal role. In Othello this is how it works.
Othello is not the focal role in this play Othello, but it concentrates more on the character that
manipulates Othello and everybody else the most, Iago. Othello is not the focal role because he does
not do much in the book. Iago is the one that controls most of the story. He commands the attention of
the audience and serves as the central figure of the action in the play. He earns the trust of people and
then uses it against them. He claims to be honest and everybody thinks he is, but he is very disloyal
and lies all the time. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
(Shakespeare 1.3.332 333,336 339)
This shows that it was evident to Iago that Othello was easy to manipulate. He knew that Othello
would believe anything he said because Othello saw Iago as an honest man. So Iago used his
gullibility to his advantage and told Othello all kinds of suspicions about his wife and Cassio that
Othello began to believe.
Iago is definitely the focal role in Othello. We follow him more than any other character, especially
Othello. ... think about the fact that Iago is often our focus in this play. We follow his storyline more
than Othello s, and we spend more time with him than Othello (Shmoop Editorial Team). Iago controls
Othello s thoughts and actions by how Iago speaks to each character. According to The Most Popular
Online Literature Library, lago plays the role of a successful director of a whole dramatic series of
disasters in the lives of several other characters because he can play a number of roles convincingly,
and is able to adapt his tone and style to suit any occasion ( Villainous Role of Iago in Othello ).
Othello is pushed to the backburner while Iago is actually the focal role in the play. Whether it is with
reason or just plain evil, Iago manipulates every character in the play and ruins their

Betty Marie The Osage Firebird
In the story The Osage Firebird, Betty Marie wants to be a ballerina. The structure of the text is based
on the ideas that were in this passage. The passage describes the girl that wants to be a ballerina but
has some challenges to face before she is a professional ballerina. Some of this story deals with the
background of the girl. She is a Native American and because she is a Native American, people treat
her differently because she comes from a different culture than others. They even pick on her because
of her last name. This passage as a whole is developed in a sense that you have to work your way up
for what you want to accomplish. Now the story of Betty Marie.
In 1925, Betty Marie had a passion for ballet. She has always

Equal Opportunity Evolves Human Resources
EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EVOLVES HUMAN RESOURCES
The predominant founder of the civil rights movement of the 1960s, Martin Luther King, stated, All
progress is precarious, and the solution of one problem brings us face to face with another problem
(Mathis 2006). We daily witness the famed Civil Rights Act of 1964 evolve to challenge and change
human resource policies and procedures to meet the increased complexity and awareness of human
resources. The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) was created by Title VII of the
Civil Rights Act of 1964; however, the Commission s mission has been shaped by more than this one
single piece of legislation. Numerous laws, amendments, and executive orders have expanded, limited
or guided the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Over the years these regulations have changed with the consciousness of the people and the
technologies of the day. Imperfect? Yes, but with increased education and research into the needs of
individuals and evolving forms of work and organizations, the culture overall has demanded more
equitable employment practices, locally and nationally. I prefer fewer laws that perpetuate external
motivation for fairness, looking to the day when individuals increasingly become internally led in their
behavior. To that end, I selected three federal regulations that seem to me to lead to that increased
individual and family strength (however we define family today) that collectively builds and sustains
creative efforts for quality living in balanced work and life settings. First, the Civil Rights Act of 1964
Title VII states it is illegal for employers to discriminate with respect to terms, conditions, or
privileges of employment because of race, religion, ethnics... (age, gender, sexual orientation were
added later) (EEOC). Let us examine the major advantages and disadvantages of this huge legal step
that took on the challenge of eradicating exploitation of workers. One area of concern to me is hostile
environments, an area this act is designed to eliminate or minimize. Rita Byrnes Kittle, EEOC
Supervisory Trial Attorney, Denver Field Office (Kittle) gives an in depth clarification of a hostile
work environment, stating such an

  • 3. The Rise and Fall of Richard the Third Essay amp;#9;Much debate and controversy surround the rise and fall of Richard the Third. It is hard to ignore such subjects due to the bonds and hidden reasons that many of the authors of the middle ages had towards Richard. In keeping an objective approach towards Richard III, the study of his rise and fall will be taken in the perspective of his royal acts and administration of England. Public sentiment over such things as the scandal surrounding the princes did have an effect over the rule of Richard, but there are many other underlying aspects that could have extended Richards rule, and changed the way history looks back on him. amp;#9;Many historian look upon Richard as a villain. They had news that the Woodvilles were conspiring against Gloucester in order to take control of England immediately. While parliament anxiously awaited Gloucester s explanation for his actions, Richard did not meet with much adversity from the people upon his arrival to London. They felt he was doing his duty, as no one suspected him of aspiring to anything but regent. Richard was then formally installed as Protectorate of England, but Richard realized that his power would not last forever, possibly four to five years. In prior years, Richard had gained much public support and accolades for his part in fighting Scotland. He uses this support in his next step of a move for the throne. In the past there had been rumors of Edward the IV being illegitimate, now there was evidence that Edward s son was illegitimate as well, as Edward IV had not been legally wed to Elizabeth when they had Edward V. Upon hearing this news, Richard chose to proceed with caution, only telling chief political players and asking their advice. Richard was wise for these actions. He had been known for his prudence in the past in the war with Scotland. When Edward IV wanted a crushing blow to the Scots, Richard realized that it would be too costly and at the same time England had already accomplished a great feat. Richard pushed ... Causes Of The Black Death The plague, a mutated bacteria, spread rapidly throughout Europe because of the lack of sanitary conditions and trade routes At first, people were unaware of the causes of the illness. The plague is caused by a mutated bacteria called Yersinia pestis. It was named after Alexandre Yersin, a biologist who discovered it in 1894 ( Black Death ). The lack of cleanliness in the Elizabethan Era contributed to the rapid spread of the plague. Sanitation lacked immensely in large cities, such as London. There were open sewers, garbage everywhere, and no running water. Fleas, lice, and rats flourished in the environment (Alchin, Elizabethan Medicine and Illnesses ). The inhabitants of England did not suspect that the plague was being carried around by rodents and insects. VAP is a growing problem in health care facilities which increases the cost of patient care and increases patient care time, hospital length of stay, and patient morbidity. Ventilator associated pneumonia increases healthcare costs by more than $40,000 per hospitalized patient (Lisboa, Kollef, Rello, 2008). Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services plan to stop paying hospitals for necessary care caused by preventable complications including nosocomial infections resulting in unintended fiscal circumstances (Lisboa et al.). 2 The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) established recommended guidelines to decrease the risk of VAP. It is these best practice interventions that nurses should follow when caring for mechanically ventilated patients. The 2003 CDC guidelines reported that 63% of admitted patients in the ICU have oral colonization associated with a pathogen resulting from VAP (Cason, Tyner, Saunders, Broome, 2007). The CDC provided a set of seven guidelines to reduce risks related to hand washing, wearing gloves, suctioning, elevated head of bed (HOB), education, oral hygiene program, and use of antiseptic rinse. Studies suggested that best practices for reducing VAP were not consistently implemented. According to the Centers for Disease Control, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and gram positive Staphylococcus aureus were the two most common bacteria linked to VAP (Babcock et al., 2004). Pseudomonas ... The One State was created by ridding the world of hunger and love, the two things thought to rule the world before the war. • 15. The Book The Outsiders By S. E. Hinton The book outsiders by S.E Hinton is action packed and breathtaking. The theme leaves off a very powerful message as well. The author makes me believe that one of the biggest themes would be, money doesn t make who you are. These are the three quotes that support my decision. My first quote is when Randy was in the car talking to Ponyboy; Greaser didn t have anything to do with it. My buddy over there wouldn t of done it. Maybe you would have done the same thing, maybe a friend of yours wouldn t have. It s the individual ( Hinton 115 ). The reason why I picked this quote is because, Randy s buddy is a Soc who has a lot of money. When Randy was saying this he meant that no matter what the social class and how much money someone had they most likely wouldn t of done it. This means that Ponyboy was really brave and did the right thing even though he is a greaser. The problem is that these prevention methods are not effective in alternatives to gang life. The alternatives could include family, protection, and these support that gangs give to their members. Finn Aage Esbensen (2011), did a study on G.R.E.A.T. students versus Non G.R.E.A.T. students to monitor their attitudes and whether the behavioral goals were achieved (Esbensen, F., Peterson, D., Taylor, T., Freng, A., Osgood, D., Carson, D., Matsuda, K. ,2011). The differences the G.R.E.A.T. students showed were lower levels of victimization and risk seeking tendencies, more prosocial peers, more negative views about gangs, and more positive views of law enforcement (Esbensen, F., Peterson, D., Taylor, T., Freng, A., Osgood, D., Carson, D., Matsuda, K. ,2011). Furthermore, there were no differences between G.R.E.A.T. and non G.R.E.A.T. students in levels of delinquency, violence, or gang membership (Esbensen, F., Peterson, D., Taylor, T., Freng, A., Osgood, D., Carson, D., Matsuda, K. ,2011). . As well as German Spymaster Admiral Wilhelm Carnaris disbelief in Hitler s Ideologies, the British had a victorious outcome in the intelligence war. Operation Fortitude was the principle deception campaign intended to persuade the enemy that the expected allied invasion of France would occur at Pas de Calais. A secondary objective was to convey the impression that the landings in Normandy were merely a divisionary feint, which could be safely ignored. The task of supplying this information rested with Juan Pujol (agent Garbo) who was highly regarded by Abwehr (MI5 History, 2016). Operation fortitude became a textbook example of how strategic deception should be conducted and captured documents demonstrated that the enemy was duped not just about the date and place of the main allied offensive but even accepted that an entirely fictional army The First US Army Group (FUSAG) had assembled in south east England in anticipation of crossing the channel from dover. The criteria for the categorization of SMEs can be scaled by looking at the company s turnover sales, some countries look at the number of employees in the business and there are countries which perceived SMEs based on mixed criteria. In addition, global organization entities such as European Commission and World Bank also have their own views on how to identify SMEs. The European Commission states that the criterion of the number of staff as the main criterion, however, introducing a financial criterion is nonetheless a necessary adjunct in order to grasp the real scale and performance of an enterprise and its position compared to its competitors (European Commission: 2003, item 4). There is also the loss of the baby which is a broken part of the story. Intertextuality is the shaping of texts meanings by other texts. Williams uses this literary device by referring to Book Nine of the Odyssey. Blanche is equal to deception. She is always flirting with some man especially Stanley. Anytime she gets the chance while Stella is out of the room. Blanche is like Odysseus because she is very well aware of her deceptive truths. She uses them to manipulate in situations. The Step method of cost allocation, allocates costs between service departments in steps, starting with the service department that provides the most service to the other service departments. After this allocation takes place, the next step in the process allocates costs to the department that provides the next most service. This keeps stepping down until all costs have been allocated between service departments (Accounting For Management, 2012). The Reciprocal method of allocating costs takes into account all activity between both interdepartmental service departments and operational departments. For instance, the custodial department services both the mail room and the manufacturing department. The cost of the portion of custodial service provided to the mailroom would be allocated directly to the mailing department, and cost of the portion of custodial service provided to the manufacturing department would be allocated directly to the manufacturing department. Unlike the step method that only allocates forward from the service departments providing the most service to those providing least, the reciprocal method can work backward. Analysis Of Color And I Love Lucy Color Lighting: How To Get Away With Murder I Love Lucy How To Get Away With Murder, a modern 2015 law and murder television drama, and I Love Lucy, a 1951 live audience comedic sitcom, hold many differences in regards to color and lighting usage. However, if thoroughly analyzed similarities can be discovered. In the season finale of How To Get Away With Murder, the director makes great use of color by means of transitional color, surrealism, color as a symbol, special effect colors, atmospheric colors, comic colors and advancing colors. The director effectively uses color as a transition from past to present. Dark green tinted scenes are used to signal a flashback to past. Soon thereafter, normal realistic colors returned during present scene. Specific examples of this transition is when the audience is flashed back to when Sam was murdered, when Annalise discovered his infidelity and when she found his dead body inside their home. Realistic colors resumed after these scenes. Moreover, surrealism is present in this episode, specifically when Annalise discovers Sam s dead body dripping with blood on the wooden floor. The dark green atmospheric tints used in this scene altered the blood s red to appear additionally nightmarish (Petrie Boggs, 2011, p. 204). Also, the colors in this specific scene contribute to three dimensionality. • 30. Sociological Research On Social And Class Differences Various statistical techniques are used in sociological research in order to study the social world. These may include measures to describe data dispersion, as well as analytical methods such as latent class analysis. Each technique can provide distinct approaches to answering a research question, as they may emphasize specific factors or lead to different ways to structure results. Consequently, it becomes particularly important to consider one s choice of measures and methods, as depending on the ones used, both the conclusion itself and interpretations of it may be affected, along with wider understandings of social reality. To begin, quantitative social research will often employ statistical measures to determine the central tendency of a given dataset. These measures, including mean, median, and mode, are used to calculate typical values of the center of a probability distribution. Since they are focused on average values, measures of central tendency are useful tools in understanding the typical situations or experiences of social groups. This makes them especially helpful in understanding social inequality and class differences because they facilitate comparison of data for multiple groups. For instance, to determine levels of economic inequality in relation to gender, one could calculate the mean incomes of males and females in a given city and compare them. Obviously restaurants have been able to weather the seasons of food service seasonality. It is not a new topic but a continuous challenge which must be addressed, met, and overcome. But how? Over the years owners and managers alike have tried several angles in combating seasonal lulls and drops in business. There are five basic areas that seem to have the most success: seasonal marketing, seasonal menus, seasonal posturing, using holidays or seasonal peaks as targeting opportunity, and brand or business loyalty. When a corporation recognizes where the seasonal weak points in business are during the year it can use promotions and strategic marketing to even out inconsistencies in sales. Seasonal menus can be twofold assets due to current customer demands as well as cheaper cost of production. Seasonal posturing refers to being prepared for high and low seasons by managing staff size and raw ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The New Constitution And The Constitution The new constitution formulated comprised of seven articles that explain how a government should work in order to provide its citizens with the basic rights. This new system divided the power between the federal government and the states. Furthermore, the American Revolution is extremely important as the constitution that was later formulated still serves the basis of the American constitution. Even though several amendments have been made to the constitution, the revolutionary principles upon which the Constitution was made are still influencing the society of the United States. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... During the revolution, several African American slaves served in the revolutionary war from both sides of the war. Moreover, this revolutionary war of independence helped the slaves in getting their independence as well. This is when several thousands of the slaves attained the status of independence by running away. As a result of the revolution, the slaves started to fight against the slavery after getting the encouragement from the natural right philosophy of the seventeenth century English philosopher John Locke (Digital History), which is also a part of the constitution of the United States of America. This natural right philosophy is nothing else but the right to life and liberty that the constitution of the United States guarantees to provide its citizens. In addition to this fight of the African American against the slavery, the slaves began to appeal the Congress in order to destruct the slavery. Furthermore, under the new constitution, the slaves were considered as 3/5 as productive as a free person (Cardoza and Hume 116). Thus, after the revolution, the slaves were also given representation while earlier the slaves were not considered to have any kind of rights since they were not considered the citizens. Moreover, it was this revolutionary war, after which the abolitionist movements initiated to abolish the slavery and thus, the awareness about slavery increased. Also, a lot of ... Death Of A Parent And The Children s Experience FEARNLEY, RACHEL (July 2010), Death of a parent and the children s experience: Don t ignore the elephant in the room, Journal of Interprofessional Care (pgs. 450 459) Nicholas Gonzales Death of a parent and the children s experience: Don t ignore the elephant in the room The article Death of a parent and the children s experience, is a very interesting and informative piece. The author Rachel Fearnley, gives a powerful presentation on a child s bereavement process. Many believe that children are unable to comprehend till the later adolescences but that death of a parent causes many developmental issues if gone unresolved. All children handle death or loss in different ways but according her extensive studies, all age groups displayed the same developmental issues. The studies conducted were not only with children but in how caregivers also approached the bereavement children. The evidence from the current research would suggest that there is a stigma attached to talking about death and dying and that practitioners find it difficult and embarrassing to discuss such topics. This sequestration leads to a pattern of communicating that avoids any involvement of such unmentionable vocabulary. Additionally, within social work practice, it has been highlighted that practitioners are frequently required to talk with children about complicated and painful issues and during uncertain times in their lives (Lefevre et al., 2008, p. 171). • 42. Iago Is The Focaling Character In Shakespeare s Othello In some plays or books, the title character is in the focal role. However, this is not the case for other books where characters in the title character s orbit are the focal role. In Othello this is how it works. Othello is not the focal role in this play Othello, but it concentrates more on the character that manipulates Othello and everybody else the most, Iago. Othello is not the focal role because he does not do much in the book. Iago is the one that controls most of the story. He commands the attention of the audience and serves as the central figure of the action in the play. He earns the trust of people and then uses it against them. Equal Opportunity Evolves Human Resources EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EVOLVES HUMAN RESOURCES The predominant founder of the civil rights movement of the 1960s, Martin Luther King, stated, All progress is precarious, and the solution of one problem brings us face to face with another problem (Mathis 2006). We daily witness the famed Civil Rights Act of 1964 evolve to challenge and change human resource policies and procedures to meet the increased complexity and awareness of human resources. The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) was created by Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964; however, the Commission s mission has been shaped by more than this one single piece of legislation. Over the years these regulations have changed with the consciousness of the people and the technologies of the day. Imperfect? Yes, but with increased education and research into the needs of individuals and evolving forms of work and organizations, the culture overall has demanded more equitable employment practices, locally and nationally. I prefer fewer laws that perpetuate external motivation for fairness, looking to the day when individuals increasingly become internally led in their behavior. To that end, I selected three federal regulations that seem to me to lead to that increased individual and family strength (however we define family today) that collectively builds and sustains creative efforts for quality living in balanced work and life settings. First, the Civil Rights Act of 1964 Title VII states it is illegal for employers to discriminate with respect to terms, conditions, or privileges of employment because of race, religion, ethnics... (age, gender, sexual orientation were added later) (EEOC). Let us examine the major advantages and disadvantages of this huge legal step that took on the challenge of eradicating exploitation of workers.
