Do You Really Want A Baby Tiger Analysis
According to Mia Lewis, author of Do You Really Want a Baby Tiger, there has been a huge increase
in the amount of people who own exotic animals in the states. Many people find the need to have an
exotic animal to stand out from all the rest. Although most people don t understand how costly it is to
own an exoctic animal or how you have to furfill their needs and even the dangers of owning an
exoctic pet which is why owning an exoctic pet is not a good idea.
Money is a big part of our everyday lives. It is how we live, take care of ourselves, provide for
ourselves and everything inbetween. In Do You Really Want a Baby Tiger, Mia Lewis states not just
the food and the vet bills, although those can indeed be considerable . With that in mind,

Investigating Athens Treatment of Her Allies
Investigating Athens Treatment of Her Allies
During the period of 478 431, Athens treatment of her allies changed dramatically as she rose to
become the leader of an empire. The establishment of the Delian League marked the beginning of a
significant series of events, which lead to Athens rise to extreme power. From the evidence of
Thucydides and the inscriptions, it is possible to track the progress of these events and the rapidly
changing treatment that Athens enforced upon her allies.
The Delian League was an establishment formed in 478 BC. A large number of Greek cities formed an
alliance under this league and together aimed to provide a strong defence against Persia, under the ...

Athens decided which of the allied states would contribute ships and which would contribute money.
This was an early stage in the Athens leadership, yet although there are no signs of change in her
treatment towards the allies, there is distant indication of inequality. As well as organising funds,
Athens also appointed Hellenic Treasurers who would collect the contributions from each of the
money paying states. However, these treasurers were Athenian (known as hellenotamiae). It would be
considered fairer to have appointed treasurers from different members of the alliance for a stronger
sense of equality. It is possible that Athens is already enforcing her authority upon her allies at this
early stage in the development of the league.
Athens also had great power as leader. An oath sworn by all members of the league indicated that
Athens would hold the place of leadership and authority for as long as the league was established. By
dropping iron weights into the sea, the oath was symbolic that Athens reign of leadership was
permanent. Athens stood faithfully by this oath, even when Persia was finally defeated at Eurymedon
in 468 BC. This meant that the league no longer had a purpose, yet Athens began to show a new
determination to gain total control over the states that she had won leadership over in terms of the
league. Cities such as Naxos

Taking a Look at Exotic Options
Introduction
Ideally we would want to find closed form solutions for all exotic options. As the payoff structures of
the exotic options become more complicated, so does the difficulty in finding closed form solutions.
In most cases closed form solutions do not exist, eg. American barrier options and these must be
valued by using numerical methods.
The lattice methods, i.e. binomial and trinomial trees, assume that the underlying stochastic process is
discrete, i.e. the underlying asset can change to a finite number of values (each associated with a
certain probability) with a small advancement in time.
Pricing barrier options using lattice techniques can be quite delicate. While the use of a large number
of time steps may produce accurate solutions for standard options, the use of the same number of time
steps in valuing barrier options will often produce erroneous option values. The source of the problem
arises from the location of barrier with respect to adjacent layers of nodes in the lattice. If the barrier
falls between layers of the lattice, the errors may be quite significant.
Ritchken [1995] provides a highly efficient algorithm which produces a lattice where the nodes hit the
barrier.
Options
A plain normal option is called a Vanilla Option. An option is a financial contract which gives its
owner a right, but not an obligation to sell or purchase an asset at a later stage during the lifetime of
the asset. The asset mentioned herein can be anything from stocks,

How To Write An Essay On Dyslexia
Dyslexia: The Disability of Confusion Dyslexia is one of of the many sad disabilities that makes
learning harder. As many as forty million people suffer from dyslexia ( Helping Children Dyslexia ).
Some people think that dyslexics are untalented or unintelligent. These facts are simply not true. Many
dyslexics lack in reading and comprehension skills but, are very talented with arts, sciences,
mathematics, and history (Clark 15). Woodrow Wilson was the 28th President of the United States and
he had a mild form of Dyslexia. To get a better understanding of dyslexia, we must look into the basic
information of dyslexia. Dyslexia is a disability that slows intellectual growth. Dyslexics cannot read
as fluently as the average person (7). This is mainly caused by the brain processing words and
languages differently than the average brain ( Helping Children Dyslexia ). Dyslexia is a simple term
that most people know.
Many people do not know the symptoms, making it harder to diagnose themselves and their kids if
they have any. Some of the symptoms in children are switching letters orders in a word. For example,

Comparison Of H, H. Holmes, And Gary Ridgway And The Green...
The united states have had many violent, brutal, and deranged serial killers which have shaped what
we know about murder today, some of the most twisted may have been Herman Webster Mudgett,
better known as H.H Holmes, as well as Gary Ridgway, AKA The Green River Killer. While both of
them are similar in many aspects, in some ways they are worlds apart. H. H Holmes was born Herman
Webster Mudgett in Gilmanton New Hampshire to parents Levi Horton Mudgett and Theodate Page

an older sister named Mary. Born into an affluent family, Holmes was said to be remarkably intelligent

Holmes later recollected that this event in particular led to his interest in anatomy and led him pursue
a degree at The University of Michigan Medical School in 1884 (Borowski, 2003). Holmes impulses
to experiment with animals did not cease throughout his childhood after those events. He would
discover forest animals close to his home in the neighboring woods, and dismember them to learn
more about their anatomy and physiology. (Bailin, 2008). This didn t only provide Holmes the
knowledge of how to dismember, but it also provided him the psychological enabler to fuel his
delusions. It is quite possible that Holmes obsession with death may have driven him to murder at the
young age of 11, disguising it as an accident. Holmes had a friend who was older than him named
Tom, and they would sometimes hangout. On one particular occasion, Tom and Holmes were
exploring an abandoned home. Holmes recalls during their exploration, seeing Tom Fall off a landing
to his death, but many speculate that Holmes may have pushed him. (Schechter, 2003). Born on

younger. Ridgway was born into a middle class family and had many family problems. Ridgway

The Death Ratio And Crash
Maybe you re afraid of snakes being on your plane? Nah, Im just kidding. Do you know what causes
plane crashes? Small things such as birds, wind, and weather can take a 430 ton airplane to the
ground, yet statistics actually show that air travel is the safest way to travel. In the following research
paper the reader will learn how plane crashes happen and how they can be prevented. The death ratio
and crash ratio both have descended over the following 20 years. There are thousands of car fatalities
each year, along with deaths. You have a one in one million chance to crash while being present on an
plane. Statistics? Or in other words facts. These are the things that we lean on in life. If something has
good credibility or statistics, then its the way to go. Plane crashes can frighten you even if you re not
on board. In fact, we live in an era where plane travel is the safest and quickest way to travel. Just last
year, 2014 had the lowest amount of plane deaths. The Year 1972 had the highest crash ratio. Planes
have advanced since then and now are more efficient and safer. In 2014 there were only 761 plane
fatalities.Statistics show that six percent of plane crashes were weather related during the 2000 s.
Another twenty percent of plane crashes statistics says that crashes during the 1970 s were mechanical
issues. Also, 34 percent of plane crashes were pilot errors during the 2000 s. In 1950, three percent of
plane fatalities were sabotaged. Believe it or not , plane

Essay about There Are as Many Readings of Othello as There...
There are as many readings of a text as there are readers; Every text has a myriads versions of
different critical readings , such as Feminist , Liberal Humanist or Deconstructionist readings
depending how each readers perceives its meanings. In each of the readings, the audience is given an
ideologically determined text, which incorporates aspects of the original, but rejects or understates
other aspects that might contradict these particular readings. In Othello, there are likewise also many
different readings, for example, Feminist, Postcolonial and Aristotelian. It is possible to suggest two
readings which perhaps may link to audiences psychologically and ideologically more successfully the
Aristotelian and Feminist reading, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, through chances, villain s manipulations and most importantly his own mind s weakness,
Othello undergoes a mental collapse, which leads to the tragic fall of the protagonist and an ultimate
ending of the play in turmoil. Also, derived by Aristotle is that all tragedies have a plot built around a
downturn or catastrophe and eventual recognition of a true and appalling state of affairs. In Othello,
the downturn would be the temptation scene in Act 3, which had given Iago the initial opportunity to
deceive Othello regarding Desdemona.
The setting of the play, a postcolonial society with the central characters from high social status also
reveals the calamitous nature of Othello. As generalized by Aristotle, most classical tragedies
possesses characters of superiority, usually being kings or nobles, for example, King Lear from King
Lear, Macbeth from Macbeth and Royal Prince Hamlet from Hamlet. This type of setting highlights
the role of the protagonist, differentiates him/her from the ordinary, and as a result dramatizes the
happenings within the play. In this case, since Desdemona and Othello are a part of the high society of
Venice, their romantic relationship and death would perhaps be more emotion evocative to the
audience.

outcome of such research is our understanding of human anatomy, which can be used in various

Okonkwo Is Not A Hero
Is Okonkwo a hero in Things Fall Apart by Chinua Achebe? First, a hero is a person typically a man,
who is admired or idealized for courage, outstanding achievements or noble qualities. No Okonkwo is
not a hero because he beats his wife during the week of peace. Another reason Okonkwo isn t a hero is
he kills Ikemefuna. The final reason Okonkwo is not a hero is he commits suicide.
One way Okonkwo isn t a hero is he beats his second wife during the week of peace. Achebe shows
how Okonkwo is not a hero by stating Okonkwo s second wife had merely cut a few leaves off it to

that follows closely to Jordan Belfort s memoir of becoming a filthy rich stockbroker. The Wolf of
Wall Street depicts Belfort s rise to riches and fall back to reality, whom is played by Leonardo
DiCaprio. Scorsese has also directed Goodfellas and The Departed, which both proved him to be a
brilliant director. Making a sharp left, Scorsese surprised his fans with The Wolf of Wall Street, as it

Black Monday, the stock market crashed and left Belfort without a job. As he said, Wall Street had
swallowed me up, and shit me back out. Belfort eventually took a job at small investor business where
he sold penny stocks. The penny stocks allowed Belfort to make $72,000 in one month! How you may
be asking? The blue chip stocks he was selling at the large firm only resulted in a 1% commission,
while the penny stocks were 50%. Belfort used his smooth talking to talk poor shmucks into investing
a few thousand dollars and he was able to pocket half. From there Belfort opened his own business,
Stratton Oakmont, with his neighbor Donnie Azoff. Rather than continue selling to the poor, Belfort
targeted the richest of the rich and would open up with the blue chip stocks, and then give the clients
the penny stocks, where stockbroker s earned the money. Stratton Oakmont continued to grow and
eventually made it to Wall Street. Belfort also made money by creating phony accounts and investing
in his own stock, which brought a lot of illegal cash to his door. Although he was a clever business
man, he spent his money ignorantly. Belfort spent money on drugs, prostitutes, yachts, and of course a

A Peasant’s Life
A Peasant s Life The peasant has always been looked upon as an object of pity, an underclass citizen
who worked to provide for the higher classes. A passage from Pierce the Ploughman s Creed gives the
perfect description of a day in the life of a peasant: As I went by the way, weeping for sorrow, I saw a
poor man hanging on to the plough. His coat was of a coarse stuff which was called cary; his hood
was full of holes and his hair stuck out of it. As he trod the soil his toes stuck out of his worn shoes
with their thick soles; his hocks on all sides and he was all bedaubed with muck as he followed the
plough. He had two mittens, scantily made of rough stuff, with worn out fingers and thick with muck.

Behind each house was a garden or small plot of land. The common fields surrounding the village
were some distance away, divided into strips and separated by twigs and pieces of unplowed land. Past
the open fields was the waste, the uncultivated land which provided grazing land for the cattle, sheep
and pigs and also fuel and timber for building.11 Bread was the staple item of the peasant diet. Eating

Explication of the Cogito Essay
Explication of the Cogito
In his Meditations, Rene Descartes attempts to prove the existence and reality of himself and things
external to himself. In order to fulfill such a feat, Descartes decides to doubt all that he knows, for he
knows not whether that can be relied upon. He doubts his knowledge for three main reasons.
For one, he accounts that in dreams, many times he had thought that things external to himself were
real. Also, he had heard people declare pain in limbs that they had lost long ago. After pondering these
two experiences he declared, the chief and most common mistake which is to be found here consists in
my judging that the ideas which are in me resemble, or conform to, things outside me (Descartes 16).

It is a subject object relationship. In order to question something, there must be something to question,
therefore a questionable object exists. And in order for there to be questioning, some thinking thing,
i.e. Descartes, must be doing the questioning, therefore, he exists. Even if the Evil Genius is
constantly deceiving him, that fact that he is being deceived means that he exists. For this reason,
Descartes could not doubt that he was doubting, and thus was able to conclude that this proposition, I
am, I exist, is necessarily true whenever it is put forward by me or conceived in my mind. (17).
To completely prove his point to the skeptics he had to go further, for how could one realize that
he/she is doubting? Descartes answers that this is possible through natural light intuition. By
establishing that he is a thing that, doubts, questions, thinks, affirms, denies, imagines, and perceives,
through examples, he is able to prove how one could realize his/her doubting. Descartes gives us the
example of the wax that is melted, and the people on the street with coats. If the wax melts, one still
perceives such as wax because the wax is merely something extended, flexible, and changeable (21).
On the street, one could see coats and hats, but one determines that one is seeing people. This, like the
wax, is done through judgement alone, by the intellect alone. With this, Descartes posits that an

Analysis Of Ask Me If I Care And Safari Essay
Women have a few common tropes in literature. Seen as submissive to men, and sexualized because of
it, women are presented as less than. While this has been strayed from a little bit in modern literature
with the engagement of queer writers, it is still very much the normal view of women, due to a society
in which the view on women is that of being less than. The short stories Ask Me if I Care and Safari
by Jennifer Egan both perpetuate this idea of women as submissive. Egan presents female characters
who only exist in the context of men, thus leaving them to be seen as inferior to the men. These tropes
of women in literature, and Egan s use of them, fit into the larger conversation: there is a degradation
of women in literature due to common conceptions of women in society.
Egan presents multiple female characters in Ask Me if I Care . The short story touches on a group of
friends, and in this group are the two characters of Rhea and Jocelyn both female. While they may
seem to be presented differently, Rhea as a not interested in being sexualized character and Jocelyn as
a sexualizes herself character, both ultimately play into the trope of submissive and degraded women.
Rhea, from the beginning, is portrayed as needing men: Still, if it s Bennie and me I hope for the back,
so that I can push against his shoulder in the cold, and hold him for a second when we hit a bump
(Egan, Ask Me ). While this may seem innocuous, it is the first introduction to Rhea. The very

Before the Russo Japanese War, the Japanese and the Russians did not have contact with each other

first Europeans to come into contact and successfully trade with Japan was the Dutch in 1638. The

Russians arrived in Japan. The Japanese refused to trade with the Russians for a long time, and it was
not until a Russian expedition that followed after Admiral Perry s expedition in 1853 did trade talks

Aaron Beck s Theory Of Depression
CHAPTER I
INTRODUCTION
Different studies showed that adolescents do not sleep adequately and inadequate sleep is usually
related with greater risk for depression, furthermore studies usually get urban adolescents as their
sample and scarcity of research in rural adolescents (Daly, 2015).
Sleep disturbance is the great cause for depression, functional impairment, falls, poor quality of life,
and poor health (Martin, 2010). Furthermore according to the American Psychiatric Association
(2013), sleep disorders usually come along with depression, anxiety and cognitive changes. One of the
major causes of the problem of disease in the world is depression (Lee et al., 2014). Depression is a
kind of feeling where one is overwhelmed by feelings of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This theory was developed by Aaron Beck in 1967. The said theory is a diathesis stress model
associated to predisposing factors, the factors that cause people to become hopeless or vulnerable
when depressed, precipitating factors, the events that cause people vulnerability, and perpetuating
factors, the factors that maintain and cause of return of the depression (Grant et al., 2010).
According to Beck negative dysfunctional attitudes could be the cause of cognitive triad which is
thinking in a way of seeing the self, the world and the future negatively (Possel Black, 2013). Beck
(1967) said that people who are depressed perceive the world with many hindrances and this person
communicates with the environment negatively.
Esbensen and associates (2007) reported that people who are depressed limit their rational and
obvious explanations and automatically perceive situations negatively. And also Brewin (1998) stated
that existence of depressing thoughts affects individual s ability to process information consciously
that could cause symptoms for depression namely, sleep disturbance, delusions, cognitive and motor
slowing and lack of

The reason why I m saying they are entrepreneurs is because entrepreneurs they saw an opportunity in
the market and they grabbed that opportunity with both hands. They took a risk and were creative
people (they were the first to realise that customers were impatient people that wanted what they
bought quickly. George Michelle is a leader (I m saying this because a leader is a person who works
along with his team, he doesn t issue tasks and just sit back and watch them perform the tasks. George
Michell in this documentary actually works along with his employees and he stands behind the
counter along with the employees and he takes some of the orders of Mac Donalds). Mac Donald s
uses an autocratic management style, this means that the manager is the one that makes all the
decisions. Mac Donald s is a franchise company, they listen and follow the rules and regulations the
franchisor places (we see this in the documentary when we look at when multiple of people taste the
Mac Donald s product to see whether they ve used the right ingredients. A franchisor states that all
Mac Donald s use the same ingredients). Mac Donald s in the olden days did not follow the King I
report, Mac Donalds only focused on generating profit, they didn t care about the community (people)
and the environment (planet). They also didn t follow the King II report, cause they didn t follow
some of these principles (e.g the Social Responsibility and Transparency), the reason why I m saying
they weren t social responsibility is because back in the days Mac Donald s only focused on profits
not the community (people). Mac Donald s were not transparent because even though they knew that
their products could cause Obesity, they didn t let the customers/consumers know that, they just

of organism and plants already living there. There s consequences to these actions; human are
forgetting about the lives that lives in these forest. Animals are either left to die or having to move
away and find another place to live, leaving the place they once called home. Human activities has
also caused climate change. This has huge effects on the rainforest. According to the FAO s Global

The Grand Canyon By Henry Morris
There is a famous saying that goes something like: if you take God out of the picture, there will be no
answer. However, many people take God or gods out of the many aspects of their lives. Now, if God is
mentioned in a debate or topic, it creates controversies and is specifically targeted by critics. Topics or
questions such as evolution or the origins of the universe have long been debated, studied, and
researched. Starting in the 19th century, evolution has been a long debated popular topic among many
people. A major 20th Century alternative belief to evolution is scientific creationism. This became
prevalent through the leading institute for promoting, forming, and researching the doctrine of
scientific creationism: the Institute of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is the belief that the world is around ten thousand years old. The idea or belief is far from the
findings of science which calculate the age of the earth to be around five billion years old. The data
considered solid by scientists such as the astronomical measurements on stars, dating of rocks, and the
reconstructions of the history of life on the planet are based on the calculation that the earth is five
billion years old. Almost all of the things that science has researched and discovered are based on the
calculation that the earth is around five billion years old, but scientific creationism argues against all
of the proof and claims that the earth is young.
The age of the earth, in the eyes of scientific creationism, is calculated first by creating a genealogical
table. Starting with Adam, the man considered to be the first human, the genealogy should be studied
until the birth of Christ. This will give you the approximate age of the earth. However, there is another
controversial topic: the length of the day. Scientific creationism believes that the length of the day in
Genesis chapter one is a literal 24 hour day, however there are other theories that the day might be
longer and may not even be confined within the human realm.
The belief that the world is roughly ten thousand years old became widespread mostly because of the
scientific creationists convincing people

Analysis Of Robert E. Lane
Eric, come right inside, a note posted on the door of Robert Lane s apartment informs me. The air
conditioning clicks on as I enter. Two large bookshelves line one wall while faded posters supporting
Howard Dean and Barack Obama are tacked up in the adjacent kitchen. Professor Lane? I ask the
empty den. No answer. I drop my backpack on a chair and walk down a hallway, past a modern
looking painting, toward the one room with the lights turned on.
Professor Lane? I ask again.
I ll be right with you, a quiet voice responds, I m just finishing up now.
Robert E. Lane is the Eugene Meyer Professor Emeritus of Political Science at the Yale University. He
arrived at Yale in 1950, where he taught full time until 1987. In 2003, Lane and his wife Helen moved
into an apartment in the Whitney Center, a continuing care retirement community in Hamden, just a
few miles from Yale s campus.
When I meet him, Lane is wearing a gray cardigan; he has thick, saucer like glasses and a hearing aid
in each ear. As he guides me back to the den, he moves with a sure footedness that belies the 96
candles on his last birthday cake. Tell me again, he says as he takes a seat at the kitchen table, what
exactly you re looking for. You want to talk about Yale s political science, and the department after all
of these years?

The Whitney Center is a large, curving, red and purple brick building. The first floor has a cafeteria
and a spacious lobby filled with high backed

Why Was Hitchcock Considered An Auteur
Every film that is made has a collective group of people who lend their vision to a film. The term
auteur theory, originating in France in the 1950 s, is a French word that means author and in the world
of cinema that would mean the director is the one who is the major creative force behind the film. As
stated in the article The Auteur Theory, the term author carries another association namely, the idea of
a lone, individual creator. With the word auteur being involved it means that the director is not only
the one in charge of directing the film, he would have say or input of other mediums like for instance a
painter or a writer. They are rebels against a collective group effort and instead go rogue in making
decisions on their own disregarding input from the team and most importantly the studio backing the
film. The directors choice to take on full ownership of films leaves ... Show more content on

I had seen his version of Psycho and really loved it. Watching Shadow of a Doubt, it proved why
Hitchcock is considered an auteur in many ways. While the term was coming into play, Hitchcock had
a unique vision in his films that differentiated with other filmmakers. He is a superb master of
building suspense and mystery, keeping the audience s nerves always on high alert. His cinematic
technique exemplified camera viewpoints, editing, suspense building. His shot of facial expressions in
the film is startling especially in Shadow of a Doubt because it showed changes in personality in an
instance. When you have films that have strong structure and shows that he is the one who has
complete control over the films he makes. This is his way of making all his films his, putting a stamp
on them. I think what separates him from others is the fact that he had cameo appearances where he
can have his image promoted in his own way. It s like an artist putting their signature on a painting.
Thus making it their own work of

Being in speech and debate you have to have a quick response to whatever your opponent says, this
has proven helpful to the development of my problem solving abilities. Being a quick thinker is
essential to speech and debate as well. This is quite an easy one to apply to the server as there are
many many problems that moderator s have to deal with. My second strength would have to be
optimism. As a moderator you want to keep up the happy, peaceful community that inhabits this
server, and if you were a pessimist as a moderator, instead of making people happy, you would make
them upset. Being an optimist, it is very easy to see the good in things and be a happy person whilst on
the server whereas it is very easy to get yourself down as a pessimist.
My third and final strength would be my friendliness. One of the aspects of being friendly is being
nice and both of those are major essentials to the server. If you aren t nice, a drama will ensue and
drama is bad for everyone and it would be a great idea not to get yourself tangled within the core of it.
Players want to be comfortable talking to a mod, and without you being friendly it will be harder for
players to reach out to you for help.
Are there any weaknesses which may affect you whilst being a

The Ancient Greeks And The Ancient Greek Sculptures
In about c.580 BCE the Kouros (Youth) was created. This is a sculpture of a Greek God standing in
the frontal position with one foot pointed forward and the hips still straight. This shows a godly
position because realistically humans cannot stand like this. This is very important because for the
Greeks to mimic the Ancient Egyptian sculpting styles you can see that they are trying to make a
statement. They are trying to expand the footprint of the art of the Ancient Egyptians. They
specifically followed the stance and facial expressions of the sculptures which we see now as a Godly
stance because humans cannot physically stand the way that they are standing. The resemblance
between the Ancient Greek and the Ancient Egyptian sculptures is very important because the
Egyptian Pharaohs are known as Demi Gods and the Ancient Greek were showing themselves as Gods
in their Sculptures. In the Kuros from Tenea head you can see that they mouth has a smile to it. This is
something new to us. We did not see a smile in these types of sculptures for a long time. This is very
important because the Greeks are straying away from the Egyptian sculptures and becoming more
human. The smile shows more human features which means that they are evolving their way of
making art into something new and innovative. As the Greeks sculptures evolve they become more
and more human in ways. The more the Greeks evolve, the more human their sculptures become and
the more they stray away from

Hypertension (HTN)
Hypertension (HTN)
Hypertension (HTN), a chronic form of high blood pressure is diagnosed through a series of
diagnostic tests which are performed in order to formally establish the particular disease or condition.
Once this is recognized, treatment options can be identified for the particular diagnosis and help lower
blood pressure. Because of Vicki s frequent travelling it could be a potential barrier to treatment
options, so due to the unique situation the patient is taught that a lifestyle change will be imminent. In
addition to prescribing medication, complementary and alternative medicine treatments are also
available which could benefit the patient. When the particular disease or condition is established, a
prognosis for the disease ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The tests also concluded that Vicki is suffering from Congestive Heart Failure (CHF) and will be
supplemented with Lozol (Thiazide diuretic) to remove excess fluid and is also used to help lower
hypertension levels. Frequent monitoring of body systems is important to prevent serious side effects
from prolonged hypertension and the use of the drug therapy. There are still other alternative treatment
therapies available, namely a lifestyle change.
Since the patient does not live a stable or an average existence several lifestyle changes will have to be
made. First, eating healthy foods at home and while travelling will be of the utmost importance, also
decreasing the salt intake in her diet. Increasing physical activity to maintain a healthy weight and
reduce stress while helping to control high blood pressure, alcohol consumption and smoking must
cease as well. Checking her blood pressure at home will attest that the medication is

A Bubble Research Paper
Bubble Research A bubble is a thin sphere of liquid enclosing air or other gases. A bubble is usually
made up of soap, glycerin, and water. The smoothness is created by the water and glycerin absorbs
moisture. Bubbles are formed when the soap is added into the solution and is blown out of the bubble
device. Naturally, water has a very strong surface tension, which holds the bubble together, and
detergent is added to release some of the surface tension, allowing it to be a little more stretchy and to
not collapse. When the bubble is fully made, air is trapped in the inside of the bubble and the outside
of the bubble has pressure at all angles forcing the bubble to be sphere. Bubbles can not last long
because of the atmospheric pressure and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Some contributing factors that help make a bubble is the solution that contains glycerin, water, and
detergent, the area surrounding the bubble when it is made, and device to make the bubble with. The
surface tension is important because it is what holds the bubble together. Surface is an invisible bond
that holds the water molecules together because water is a polar molecule. When a bubble is created,
the molecules stick together, creating surface tension. When a bubble is created by only water, the
surface tension is too much, so you should add some detergent. In order to make a large and strong
bubble, add some glycerin in it. Glycerin helps the bubble because it makes the thin layer a bit
stronger and it prevent water to evaporate. When you blow the bubble, make sure the solution is clean
and the air has some humidity. These factors help the bubble to last longer. In order to make a big
bubble, you most have specific ingredients in the bubble solution and specific type of weather, but
there is no exact device to blow bubbles the biggest bubble. In only one website, it said that a metal
coat hanger with string wrapped around it will create one of the biggest bubble, but to actually know,
you must run actual tests to find

Three Characters Who Have Influenced Katniss Essay
Ewon Chang
Ms. Costa
ENG3U
6th November 2012
Three characters who have influenced Katniss Everyone in society must have been influenced by
others around him. Think about it; a person can always find several people who have influenced him
deeply in his life, such as his parents and teachers. More specifically, the person can be directly
influenced by their words and actions; he can also be unconsciously influenced by their minds and
moods. However, these influences can be positive or negative for a man. Katniss, the protagonist in
The Hunger Games, has been influenced in both positive and negative ways by three characters: Gale,
Cinna and Cato. Gale teaches Katniss hunting skills like a big brother and promises to take care of
Prim. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
At the last time they meet before the Games, Katniss cries out, don t let them starve! ... [Gale] won t!
You know [Gale] won t... (Collins 40). The reassurance is really important for Katniss because she is
so concerned about her family, especially about her younger sister Prim. With Gale s strong guarantee,
Katniss can give herself completely to the Games. Gale has influenced Katniss positively by teaching
her hunting skills and providing a reassuring guarantee. Cinna, as Katniss s stylist throughout the
Games, has turned Katniss to a stunner in the opening ceremonies to help her attract sponsors, as well
as prepare for the interview. The fire costume is so dazzling that it has caused a sensation in the
opening ceremonies. When Katniss and Peeta ride out in a chariot down the street, the people of the
Capitol are going nuts, showering [them] with flowers, shouting [their] names, [their] first names...
Cinna has given [Katniss] a great advantage. No one will forget [Katniss]. Not [her] look, not [her]
name (Collins 70). The perfect debut of Katniss helps her get a lot of rich sponsors who can provide
her with valuable support during the Games. Different from Haymitch s arbitrary requirement to the
presentation, Cinna s suggestion is so suitable and reasonable for Katniss that she can show her best
aspects to the audience. As Katniss follows Cinna s strategy to be herself in the presentation, the
applause continues long after

Many people find the need to have an exotic animal to stand out from all the rest. Although most people don t understand how costly it is to own an exoctic animal or how you have to furfill their needs and even the dangers of owning an exoctic pet which is why owning an exoctic pet is not a good idea. Money is a big part of our everyday lives. It is how we live, take care of ourselves, provide for ourselves and everything inbetween. • 3. Investigating Athens Treatment of Her Allies Investigating Athens Treatment of Her Allies During the period of 478 431, Athens treatment of her allies changed dramatically as she rose to become the leader of an empire. The establishment of the Delian League marked the beginning of a significant series of events, which lead to Athens rise to extreme power. From the evidence of Thucydides and the inscriptions, it is possible to track the progress of these events and the rapidly changing treatment that Athens enforced upon her allies. The Delian League was an establishment formed in 478 BC. A large number of Greek cities formed an alliance under this league and together aimed to provide a strong defence against Persia, under the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Athens decided which of the allied states would contribute ships and which would contribute money. This was an early stage in the Athens leadership, yet although there are no signs of change in her treatment towards the allies, there is distant indication of inequality. As well as organising funds, Athens also appointed Hellenic Treasurers who would collect the contributions from each of the money paying states. However, these treasurers were Athenian (known as hellenotamiae). It would be considered fairer to have appointed treasurers from different members of the alliance for a stronger sense of equality. It is possible that Athens is already enforcing her authority upon her allies at this early stage in the development of the league. Athens also had great power as leader. An oath sworn by all members of the league indicated that Athens would hold the place of leadership and authority for as long as the league was established. By dropping iron weights into the sea, the oath was symbolic that Athens reign of leadership was permanent. Athens stood faithfully by this oath, even when Persia was finally defeated at Eurymedon in 468 BC. This meant that the league no longer had a purpose, yet Athens began to show a new determination to gain total control over the states that she had won leadership over in terms of the league. • 5. Taking a Look at Exotic Options Introduction Ideally we would want to find closed form solutions for all exotic options. As the payoff structures of the exotic options become more complicated, so does the difficulty in finding closed form solutions. In most cases closed form solutions do not exist, eg. American barrier options and these must be valued by using numerical methods. The lattice methods, i.e. binomial and trinomial trees, assume that the underlying stochastic process is discrete, i.e. the underlying asset can change to a finite number of values (each associated with a certain probability) with a small advancement in time. Pricing barrier options using lattice techniques can be quite delicate. While the use of a large number of time steps may produce accurate solutions for standard options, the use of the same number of time steps in valuing barrier options will often produce erroneous option values. The source of the problem arises from the location of barrier with respect to adjacent layers of nodes in the lattice. If the barrier falls between layers of the lattice, the errors may be quite significant. Ritchken [1995] provides a highly efficient algorithm which produces a lattice where the nodes hit the barrier. Options A plain normal option is called a Vanilla Option. An option is a financial contract which gives its owner a right, but not an obligation to sell or purchase an asset at a later stage during the lifetime of the asset. The asset mentioned herein can be anything from stocks, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

As many as forty million people suffer from dyslexia ( Helping Children Dyslexia ). Some people think that dyslexics are untalented or unintelligent. These facts are simply not true. Many dyslexics lack in reading and comprehension skills but, are very talented with arts, sciences, mathematics, and history (Clark 15). Woodrow Wilson was the 28th President of the United States and he had a mild form of Dyslexia. To get a better understanding of dyslexia, we must look into the basic information of dyslexia. Dyslexia is a disability that slows intellectual growth. Dyslexics cannot read as fluently as the average person (7). This is mainly caused by the brain processing words and languages differently than the average brain ( Helping Children Dyslexia ). Dyslexia is a simple term that most people know. • 7. Comparison Of H, H. Holmes, And Gary Ridgway And The Green... The united states have had many violent, brutal, and deranged serial killers which have shaped what we know about murder today, some of the most twisted may have been Herman Webster Mudgett, better known as H.H Holmes, as well as Gary Ridgway, AKA The Green River Killer. While both of them are similar in many aspects, in some ways they are worlds apart. H. H Holmes was born Herman Webster Mudgett in Gilmanton New Hampshire to parents Levi Horton Mudgett and Theodate Page Price. Holmes later recollected that this event in particular led to his interest in anatomy and led him pursue a degree at The University of Michigan Medical School in 1884 (Borowski, 2003). Holmes impulses to experiment with animals did not cease throughout his childhood after those events. He would discover forest animals close to his home in the neighboring woods, and dismember them to learn more about their anatomy and physiology. (Bailin, 2008). This didn t only provide Holmes the knowledge of how to dismember, but it also provided him the psychological enabler to fuel his delusions. It is quite possible that Holmes obsession with death may have driven him to murder at the young age of 11, disguising it as an accident. Holmes had a friend who was older than him named Tom, and they would sometimes hangout. On one particular occasion, Tom and Holmes were exploring an abandoned home. Holmes recalls during their exploration, seeing Tom Fall off a landing to his death, but many speculate that Holmes may have pushed him. (Schechter, 2003). Born on February 18th, 1949, Gary Ridgway was born to Mary Rita Steinman and Thomas Newton Ridgway, in Salt Lake City, Utah. Gary, much like Holmes, had two siblings, though one was older, and one was younger. Ridgway was born into a middle class family and had many family problems. There are as many readings of a text as there are readers; Every text has a myriads versions of different critical readings , such as Feminist , Liberal Humanist or Deconstructionist readings depending how each readers perceives its meanings. In each of the readings, the audience is given an ideologically determined text, which incorporates aspects of the original, but rejects or understates other aspects that might contradict these particular readings. However, through chances, villain s manipulations and most importantly his own mind s weakness, Othello undergoes a mental collapse, which leads to the tragic fall of the protagonist and an ultimate ending of the play in turmoil. Also, derived by Aristotle is that all tragedies have a plot built around a downturn or catastrophe and eventual recognition of a true and appalling state of affairs. In Othello, the downturn would be the temptation scene in Act 3, which had given Iago the initial opportunity to deceive Othello regarding Desdemona. The setting of the play, a postcolonial society with the central characters from high social status also reveals the calamitous nature of Othello. As generalized by Aristotle, most classical tragedies possesses characters of superiority, usually being kings or nobles, for example, King Lear from King Lear, Macbeth from Macbeth and Royal Prince Hamlet from Hamlet. This type of setting highlights the role of the protagonist, differentiates him/her from the ordinary, and as a result dramatizes the happenings within the play. In this case, since Desdemona and Othello are a part of the high society of Venice, their romantic relationship and death would perhaps be more emotion evocative to the audience. ... Belfort eventually took a job at small investor business where he sold penny stocks. The penny stocks allowed Belfort to make $72,000 in one month! How you may be asking? The blue chip stocks he was selling at the large firm only resulted in a 1% commission, while the penny stocks were 50%. Belfort used his smooth talking to talk poor shmucks into investing a few thousand dollars and he was able to pocket half. From there Belfort opened his own business, Stratton Oakmont, with his neighbor Donnie Azoff. Rather than continue selling to the poor, Belfort targeted the richest of the rich and would open up with the blue chip stocks, and then give the clients the penny stocks, where stockbroker s earned the money. Stratton Oakmont continued to grow and eventually made it to Wall Street. • 16. A Peasant’s Life A Peasant s Life The peasant has always been looked upon as an object of pity, an underclass citizen who worked to provide for the higher classes. A passage from Pierce the Ploughman s Creed gives the perfect description of a day in the life of a peasant: As I went by the way, weeping for sorrow, I saw a poor man hanging on to the plough. His coat was of a coarse stuff which was called cary; his hood was full of holes and his hair stuck out of it. As he trod the soil his toes stuck out of his worn shoes with their thick soles; his hocks on all sides and he was all bedaubed with muck as he followed the plough. He had two mittens, scantily made of rough stuff, with worn out fingers and thick with muck. This man bemired himself in mud ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Behind each house was a garden or small plot of land. The common fields surrounding the village were some distance away, divided into strips and separated by twigs and pieces of unplowed land. Past the open fields was the waste, the uncultivated land which provided grazing land for the cattle, sheep and pigs and also fuel and timber for building.11 Bread was the staple item of the peasant diet. Eating meat was either a rare or nonexistent occurrence. Peasants ate whatever they grew: grains and a small percent of vegetables and potatoes. Barley and oats were made into both food and drink for consuming. The good grains, the meat from the animals, and the tasty fruits and vegetables went to either the lords or to the upper classes.12 The peasant s housing was as basic as his diet. Most houses consisted of two rooms, one for living and one for sleeping. The walls were constructed of clay or straw supported by wooden frames. The roofs were thatched and animals were free to wander in and out. • 17. Explication of the Cogito Essay Explication of the Cogito In his Meditations, Rene Descartes attempts to prove the existence and reality of himself and things external to himself. In order to fulfill such a feat, Descartes decides to doubt all that he knows, for he knows not whether that can be relied upon. He doubts his knowledge for three main reasons. For one, he accounts that in dreams, many times he had thought that things external to himself were real. Also, he had heard people declare pain in limbs that they had lost long ago. After pondering these two experiences he declared, the chief and most common mistake which is to be found here consists in my judging that the ideas which are in me resemble, or conform to, things outside me (Descartes 16). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is a subject object relationship. In order to question something, there must be something to question, therefore a questionable object exists. And in order for there to be questioning, some thinking thing, i.e. Descartes, must be doing the questioning, therefore, he exists. Even if the Evil Genius is constantly deceiving him, that fact that he is being deceived means that he exists. For this reason, Descartes could not doubt that he was doubting, and thus was able to conclude that this proposition, I am, I exist, is necessarily true whenever it is put forward by me or conceived in my mind. (17). To completely prove his point to the skeptics he had to go further, for how could one realize that he/she is doubting? Descartes answers that this is possible through natural light intuition. By establishing that he is a thing that, doubts, questions, thinks, affirms, denies, imagines, and perceives, through examples, he is able to prove how one could realize his/her doubting. Descartes gives us the example of the wax that is melted, and the people on the street with coats. If the wax melts, one still perceives such as wax because the wax is merely something extended, flexible, and changeable (21). On the street, one could see coats and hats, but one determines that one is seeing people. This, like the wax, is done through judgement alone, by the intellect alone. With this, Descartes posits that an ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 18. Analysis Of Ask Me If I Care And Safari Essay Women have a few common tropes in literature. Seen as submissive to men, and sexualized because of it, women are presented as less than. While this has been strayed from a little bit in modern literature with the engagement of queer writers, it is still very much the normal view of women, due to a society in which the view on women is that of being less than. The short stories Ask Me if I Care and Safari by Jennifer Egan both perpetuate this idea of women as submissive. Egan presents female characters who only exist in the context of men, thus leaving them to be seen as inferior to the men. These tropes of women in literature, and Egan s use of them, fit into the larger conversation: there is a degradation of women in literature due to common conceptions of women in society. Egan presents multiple female characters in Ask Me if I Care . The short story touches on a group of friends, and in this group are the two characters of Rhea and Jocelyn both female. While they may seem to be presented differently, Rhea as a not interested in being sexualized character and Jocelyn as a sexualizes herself character, both ultimately play into the trope of submissive and degraded women. Rhea, from the beginning, is portrayed as needing men: Still, if it s Bennie and me I hope for the back, so that I can push against his shoulder in the cold, and hold him for a second when we hit a bump (Egan, Ask Me ). While this may seem innocuous, it is the first introduction to Rhea. The very ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 20. Aaron Beck s Theory Of Depression CHAPTER I INTRODUCTION Different studies showed that adolescents do not sleep adequately and inadequate sleep is usually related with greater risk for depression, furthermore studies usually get urban adolescents as their sample and scarcity of research in rural adolescents (Daly, 2015). Sleep disturbance is the great cause for depression, functional impairment, falls, poor quality of life, and poor health (Martin, 2010). Furthermore according to the American Psychiatric Association (2013), sleep disorders usually come along with depression, anxiety and cognitive changes. According to Beck negative dysfunctional attitudes could be the cause of cognitive triad which is thinking in a way of seeing the self, the world and the future negatively (Possel Black, 2013). Beck (1967) said that people who are depressed perceive the world with many hindrances and this person communicates with the environment negatively. Esbensen and associates (2007) reported that people who are depressed limit their rational and obvious explanations and automatically perceive situations negatively. The data considered solid by scientists such as the astronomical measurements on stars, dating of rocks, and the reconstructions of the history of life on the planet are based on the calculation that the earth is five billion years old. Almost all of the things that science has researched and discovered are based on the calculation that the earth is around five billion years old, but scientific creationism argues against all of the proof and claims that the earth is young. The age of the earth, in the eyes of scientific creationism, is calculated first by creating a genealogical table. Starting with Adam, the man considered to be the first human, the genealogy should be studied until the birth of Christ. This will give you the approximate age of the earth. However, there is another controversial topic: the length of the day. Scientific creationism believes that the length of the day in Genesis chapter one is a literal 24 hour day, however there are other theories that the day might be longer and may not even be confined within the human realm. The term auteur theory, originating in France in the 1950 s, is a French word that means author and in the world of cinema that would mean the director is the one who is the major creative force behind the film. As stated in the article The Auteur Theory, the term author carries another association namely, the idea of a lone, individual creator. With the word auteur being involved it means that the director is not only the one in charge of directing the film, he would have say or input of other mediums like for instance a painter or a writer. This is a sculpture of a Greek God standing in the frontal position with one foot pointed forward and the hips still straight. This shows a godly position because realistically humans cannot stand like this. This is very important because for the Greeks to mimic the Ancient Egyptian sculpting styles you can see that they are trying to make a statement. They are trying to expand the footprint of the art of the Ancient Egyptians. They specifically followed the stance and facial expressions of the sculptures which we see now as a Godly stance because humans cannot physically stand the way that they are standing. The resemblance between the Ancient Greek and the Ancient Egyptian sculptures is very important because the Egyptian Pharaohs are known as Demi Gods and the Ancient Greek were showing themselves as Gods in their Sculptures. In the Kuros from Tenea head you can see that they mouth has a smile to it. This is something new to us. We did not see a smile in these types of sculptures for a long time. This is very important because the Greeks are straying away from the Egyptian sculptures and becoming more human. The smile shows more human features which means that they are evolving their way of making art into something new and innovative. The smoothness is created by the water and glycerin absorbs moisture. Bubbles are formed when the soap is added into the solution and is blown out of the bubble device. Naturally, water has a very strong surface tension, which holds the bubble together, and detergent is added to release some of the surface tension, allowing it to be a little more stretchy and to not collapse. When a bubble is created, the molecules stick together, creating surface tension. When a bubble is created by only water, the surface tension is too much, so you should add some detergent.
