World War One ( Wwi )
World War One (WWI) is an important event in history and impacted history in a great way for four
years during 1914 to 1918. It is known as the Great War because the French, British, and Germans did
not know there would be another world war in history. The events occurring through August and July
of 1914 had catalysts to help the war build up its stockpile. The war was a conflict between the Allied
Powers (France, Russia, Britain, Italy and the United States), and the Central Powers (Germany,
Austria Hungary and the Ottoman Empire). The main causes of WWI was the rise in nationalism,
which was very strong in Germany becoming a leading factor, economic imperialism, and the
assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand in 1914 who was heir to the Austro Hungarian throne. In
Germany, William II, the King of Prussia and emperor of Germany, was not a good leader, but he
exhibited aggressiveness. The rise of German nationalism was exerting influence to the state during
his ruling. During his reign, the Farmer s League was organized in the 1890s, and they influenced
farmers and the rural masses to mobilize against the Jews (they were jealous of the Jews and hated
them due to racism and because they were successful with business enterprises). Anti Semitism was an
idea created by Adolf Hitler, which his ideas caused a lot of racism and conflict. The Navy league and
Pan German League laid a foundation for German nationalism for WWI. By 1914, Germany was the
strongest and highest

Dr Rieux Character Analysis
The character that I have chosen to study is Dr Rieux. He is the narrator of this story and is a highly
respected surgeon in the town of Oran. Rieux is of average height and has broad shoulders. He has
dark steady eyes, a big, well modeled nose, and thick, tight set lips. His black hair is cut short and
slick. He belongs to a small group of people dubbed as the true healers. While he had the opportunity
to leave Oran and join his wife, he refused. He remained in Oran to fight the plague with all his
abilities and strength. He claims that there is nothing heroic about his actions and that he is simply
doing his job. He fights because he has been trained to and because of his philosophy; he believes of
his life having value only when he is

Asian-American Superhero Analysis
Essays, Not Rants! 244: An Asian American Superhero
I wasn t sure how I felt about Silk when she first showed up in the Spider Man comics, but it was
when she got her own series and a narrative no longer intrinsically tied to Peter Parker that she really
came into her own.
But on the on the one hand, yeah, another webslinging spider themed hero? We ve already got a lot
with Peter Parker, Miles Morales, Gwen Stacy, and Miguel O Hara in books of their own; do we need
one more? The thing is, Silk brings with it like each of the other spider books a unique story and
character.
Obviously, there s Silk/Cindy Moon herself. One of the things that hooked me into the book is
something somewhat shallow but terribly important: Cindy is Korean American. Yes, I know, I m
ranting about diversity again. But listen. There are precious few Asian superheroes, even less so with
their own books. There will always be a thrill in getting to see someone who looks like you
represented.
But Cindy s Asian ness isn t just a lip service done through line art and surname, the story in Silk
features distinctly Asian elements.
So quick recap, Cindy got bitten by the same spider that gave Peter Parker his powers, but due to some
bad news involving spider killing vampiric Inheritors (it makes sense in context), Cindy ... Show more

Her time in the bunker did a number on her, and so Cindy seeks counseling. Her sessions often
provide narration for her adventures as she confides in her therapist, which is a fun narrative tool in
itself, but the portrayal of therapy as being something both normal and healthy stands out as special in
comics. It s not a sign of weakness, but rather a way for Cindy to work out anger issues and the
newfound stress of getting used to a modern life (and being a superhero). It s a profound addition that
subtly destigmatizes getting help while allowing space in Cindy s life to focus on her family without

The Impact of Large Aircraft on Aircraft Management Essay
According to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) aircraft certification, a large aircraft refers to
an aircraft of more than 12,500 pounds which is the maximum certificated takeoff weight. The
heaviest and largest aircraft in the world have a maximum takeoff weight of over 600 tons. Since
larger aircraft have greater capacity, as well as advanced technological features, airport management
needs to make changes that cater to their operation. The first reaction of management at large airports
was to restrict the new, large aircraft by assigning them to specific terminals, routes and runways.
However, this led to delays and air traffic congestion. Given the growing number of new, large
aircraft, the only safe and efficient way to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This new standard calls for taxiways and runways to be widened, along with taxiways to taxiways and
the runways to taxiways.
Although the arrival of these new aircraft has eased airport congestion and continues to meet
passenger needs, it presents numerous challenges for airport management. As a result, various changes
have been made and others are to be put into effect. The super jumbo is 400,000 pounds heavier, 11
feet longer, 41 feet wider and 15 feet taller than Boeing jumbo jets (Yeamans, 2006). This aircraft,
then, requires longer and wider landing space, and airport management has increased airport pavement
areas. Where existing land did not allow for expansion, additional land has been identified and new
airports constructed.
Similarly, the increase in the number of passengers has created a need for more gate hold rooms. New,
large aircraft have significantly affected passenger flow, in terms of the queuing network system (Chiu
and Walton, 2003). In some airports, adjacent gates may not operate when large planes, such as the
super jumbo and the A380, are loading and unloading. Gate capacities have increased more than
twofold in airports that have large aircraft. In order to maintain their services, then, many airport
managements have increased their number of gate hold rooms.
Airports have also expanded the capacity of baggage handling, concourses, ticket

Corporate Governance In Mark Whitacre Movie
Brief summary of plot
Based on a bizarrely true story this is a tale of Mark Whitacre (Matt Damon) a young executive at a
food processing company who one day decides to blow the whistle on the illegal activities of he s
company Mark Whitacre, who worked in the lysine developing company for multiple years, has
decided to work as an informant for the FBI against the illegal price fixing of his company. He then
informs the FBI that several executives at his company had been fixing the price of the key chemical

stakeholder s tolerance or support of illegal activities such as what happened in the movie, this can
lead to scandals and bad publicity which will have adverse effects on the business. The practices of the
business ADM in the movie were an example of bad corporate governance as executives in the
business were expected to accept kickbacks of five hundred thousand dollars as part of the company

Persuasive Essay About Camping
Being outdoors is an amazing solution to spending time with family and friends. It is a fun approach to
mingling and enjoying quality time with them. In addition to that, you are outside spending time in
nature. Taking a break from your everyday life to enjoy what mother nature provides for us, has many
advantages. But, before you start heading to the campground, you should know of all the positive
aspects that you will get once you get outdoors.
It is important to have good company in order to make the camping trip worthwhile and full of
memory making opportunities. It can also be great for those who prefer to have some peace and quiet
time alone. This also gives us a moment to witness and experience nature first hand, and to take a
break from all the distractions of the faster pace lifestyle. Camping is an opportunity to get away from
the usual day to day routine and to get involved with something new and exciting.
Although most people might think that going on a camping trip is too much of a hassle and a time
consuming activity, there are several tips from camping experts and enthusiasts on how to make the
camping experience easy and enjoyable. Camping should be thoroughly executed in order to prevent
speed bumps from turning into full blown issues along the way. When all the check lists and to do lists
are executed properly, campers can truly maximize the overall positive outcome of the camping
experience.
The right gear, the right protection, and a menu of a healthy variety of foods should be considered
when going on a camping trip. You should make sure your personal information is up to date and
inform close friends or family of your trip. Bringing the right type of equipment such as flashlights,
sleeping bags, emergency kit, protection, using the right and comfortable backpack, wearing the right
footwear and clothes, etc. are all essential to enjoying and feeling secured during whole experience.
It is true that you do not have to take a lavish vacation to wind down and take a load of your
shoulders. Of course, you can witness the great outdoors and enjoy the beauty it possesses. Also, more
and more people are temporarily ditching the electronics and taking advantage of all the benefits that

Nclb Act Pros And Cons
In 2001, Former President George W. Bush signed the No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Act. This Law
launched the national standards and testing movement of the United States (2004).
The NCLB was structured to place the responsibility of our children on the shoulders of each state
individually. In addition, it is also beneficial to parents and students who are living in impoverished
communities with little to no resources available resulting in low performing test scores. The NCLB
also states that local educational agencies now have federal education funding in their disposal.
The following are excerpts from The Department of Education (2004).
The four pillars on which the initiative is based are as follows:
Stronger Accountability for Results ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In schools that do not meet state standards for at least two consecutive years, parents may transfer
their children to a better performing public school, including a public charter school, within their
district. The district must provide transportation, using Title I funds if necessary. Students from low
income families in schools that fail to meet state standards for at least three years are eligible to
receive supplemental educational services, including tutoring, after school services, and summer
school. Also, students who attend a persistently dangerous school or are the victim of a violent crime
while in their school have the option to attend a safe school within their district.
Positive and negative insights on the NCLB:
Positives
Statewide standardized exams has vastly improved enrollment for mathematics and science.
Legislation has firmly had an effect on public schools applying pressure to provide more educational
resources to the students.
The achievement gap between whites and the minorities has closed.
Low income housing and students with disabilities now has accessibility.
Funding for school technology used is now available in classrooms as part of NCLB, is administered
by the Enhancing Education Through Technology Program (EETT) funding for technology used

auto safety for granted. It only takes a few seconds for an accident to happen. Most of our children

another course you can have your child take, this cuts down on accidents. New drivers should know
about awareness on the road and and stay alert. No cell phones while driving. If someone has

A Brief Note On Poland s Solidarity Movement
Poland s Solidarity Movement in 1989 The Cold War was a state of political hostility characterized by
threats, propaganda and other measures short of open warfare, as defined by Google Dictionary. These
1989 Cold War Revolutions largely impacted the world and for many regions, opened up an
opportunity to express a new perspective towards the challenges that were taking place throughout
these countries. Poland, the Philippines, Chile, South Africa, Ukraine and China were all apart of these
non violent overthrows of various dictatorships. Each region endured various types of discrimination
and exploitation throughout the Cold Wars end. Whether it was economic exploitation, political
discrimination, or the violation of human and civil rights, non violent revolutions rose throughout
Eastern Europe. The book, 1989 Democratic Revolutions at the Cold War s End, written by Padriac
Kenney, analyzes these overthrows and discusses the outcomes for each region. For Poland, more
specifically, these non violent strikes began when they first came under the control of the Soviet
Union in 1948. However, their resistance began in 1944, when the Soviet Union had just began
liberating Polish territory. Starting off with an armed resistance from 1944 to 1947 and ending with
the Solidarity movement in 1989, Poland finally had control of the government from the Communists.
With a brutal start, Polish oppositionists realized there was a better, non violent way to go. The rise of

Movie Analysis of Hotel Rwanda
Hotel Rwanda, released in December of 2004, is based on the true story on the life of Paul
Rusesabagina, a hotel manager of Hotel des Mille Collines, who saved the lives of 1,268 people in the
face of genocide. This movie is based on the true events of the Rwandan Genocide in 1994 that
occurred in Kigali, the capital and largest city of Rwanda in Africa. It touches upon when the Hutu
extremists of Rwanda initiated an act of genocide on thousands of the minority group, Tutsis. This
movie was directed/written by Terry George and Keir Pearson. Major cast include Don Cheadle (Paul
Rusesabagina), Sophie Okonedo (Tatiana), Joaquin Phoenix (Jack), and Nick Nolte (Colonel Oliver of

Paul makes it clear that he does everything only to protect his family. As he tells his wife when she
tells him to call his people to help the neighbors being attacked, I give the powerful guests of the hotel
everything, so that in return, they will protect my family when troubling times come. They are our
neighbors, not family.
As the attacks get worse, this mindset changes as a threat to kill a group of Tutsis in front of him is
presented. Toward the beginning of the movie, after the attacks begin in Paul s neighborhood, a large
group of other Tutsis neighbors are hiding in the Rusesabagina home. Hutu armies come to kill all the
cockroaches in his home, including his wife and kids. At first, Paul offers bribes of money and alcohol
to save only his family, but later offers almost triple the amount of money for the whole group,
including expensive jewels. This is only one of the first scenes that Paul bribes armies to avoid the
killing of those he is protecting. With the character of Rusesabagina, the filmmaker portrayed him as a
humble man, with no inconstancies in any of his actions. This goes along with the purpose of the film,
which was to show the actions of a hero, who saved thousands from genocide.
The main antagonists of the film would be the Hutu. They could be considered villains not only for
their hate for Tutsis, but for the ruthless killing of close to a million. The directors, did just enough in
every scene to remind the ones

component in the moral competence. Caring behaviour is described as competence, confidence,

Taking a Look at Home Schooling
Home schooling is a type of education that takes place in the home; it can be defined as parents or a
small group of students from a community studying an academic curriculum at home or any confined
place either for personal reasons or any other purpose. It has been a controversial choice for education
and has been opposed by many in the past since the early twentieth century as it was illegal in most
states. Home schooling topic which was not even considered earlier is now being regarded salient as
we can observe the drastic change from 19th century to now, Ray s studies shows that, A dramatic
change began around the late 1970s, one that resulted in slightly more than 2 million home schooled
students in grades K to 12 in the United States during the spring of 2010 (324) also, Between 1999
and 2007, homes schoolers in the United States increased by an estimated 74 percent twelve times the
rate of public school growth and now likely number more than two million altogether (Kunzman 76)
but Johnson has given the statistics in another perspective as Early home schoolers joined together to
win favourable legislative and judicial outcomes that resulted in the legalization of home schooling in
all 50 states by the early 1990s (298). Compared to any other countries More African Americans,
Native Americans, Muslims, wealthy urbanites, actors, musicians, and athletes have joined the ranks

Within the United States the only true restriction it states about maternity leave specifically is that a
woman who has a vaginally delivery may have at least 6 weeks of leave and a woman who had a

laws in place regarding maternity leave as of 2018, with a fifth state adding laws or regulations in
2019. Instead of specific regulations involving maternity leave the US does have laws enforced to
protect a mother s job. Included in these regulations are prohibiting employers declining to hire or

can not be fired or demoted because of pregnancy or taking the expected 6 8 weeks leave. It is to the

that offer these benefits often have criteria the woman must meet to qualify for any paid leave. In

Death Of A Moth Essay
The Land Ethic vs The Death of the Moth Marlee Matlin once said, The Earth does not belong to us:
We belong to the Earth. In Aldo Leopold s essay, The Land Ethic , there are several overwhelming
examples that illustrate why we as humans would believe we own the Earth when we really don t.
Paradoxically, looking at Virginia Woolf s work, The Death of a Moth , one would come to believe
that none of that matters because all living beings will suffer the fate of death. However, both works
show that there can be a reconciliation between a certain kind of symbiosis: man vs man, land vs land,
or man vs land. The Death of a Moth may show that all life forms end eventually, but The Land Ethic

She doesn t start to cherish the life of the moth until it faces the near experience of death which
discloses several revelations. In Aristotle s rhetoric, such feeling can be defined as pathos: a condition
that evokes pity or sadness. Evidence from both works show that humans don t necessarily care about
other life forms unless it affects or benefits them in some way, shape or form. So at what point do
we,as humans, determine what part of the land is more important than the other? We are also a part of
the land pyramid (Leopold). So why do we feel a sort of superiority to the other members of the
community or the need to use so many of the land s resources futilely and excessively? The
transparent and most logical answer would be sustenance. All creatures live to survive, and death is
motivation enough for life to have value. Leopold could have argued that man s exploitation of the
land is superfluous, but others could respond with a rebuttal stating that the exploitation is for the
betterment of the human society. The puzzling aspect of such situations is that the existence of
obligations over and above self interest is taken for granted in such rural community enterprises as the
betterment of roads, schools, churches, and baseball teams (Leopold). Those that are wise would note
humans as biased because we never consider what determines whether a species should diminish and

Portrayal Of Women In The Film Mulan
Disney tends to take stories changing them for today s audience. Disney films are just one example of
fictional texts. Fictional texts including the 1998 film Mulan, contains fictional content however
encompasses some historical truth. The role of women in Ancient China was to stay home doing
feminine tasks. In the film Mulan, it portrays an accurate role of women in society and the household,
but incorrect when examining women in warfare. The role of women in Ancient China was to stay
home completing ladylike activities. Women stayed home doing domestic jobs. However, women in

In the image, one lady is looking after children, two are doing calligraphy, one is dancing and one
weaving cloth. This images evinces the women s role in Ancient China. These jobs have continued to
be a part of the modern world, changing as technology was introduced. The film Mulan does not
contain all of this information, making Mulan a fictional source. Mulan is reliable regarding women s
role in the household, but unreliable with women in warfare. In the film, Disney emphasises the
punishment of women participation in warfare. In figure 2 when Mulan and her father argue is reliable
because she spoke out towards her father. This is supported by words of mother of Mencius, stating
she must submit to her parents. (Ebrey, P.B 1993) Women in Ancient China obeyed men, making this
aspect of Mulan reliable. The animated sequence where Mulan is pardoned after being discovered a
girl is not reliable because women participation in warfare was not a crime. In The world of Ancient
China written by J.B. Grosier, it states no law against women participating in warfare. Nevertheless,
women didn t participate because discrimination made female warriors unusual. This scene in the film

The Brown vs. Board of Education ruled segregation in America s public school unconstitutional. At
19, Elvis released his first single, That s All Right , a cover of an R B song written and recorded by
Arthur Big Boy Crudup who was a 1940s African American Bluesman. The single was released two
months after the Brown vs. Board of Education ruling. The single integrated black and white cultures
showing people that everyone could live side by side through music. Elvis had a tremendous influence
on millions of American s and broke through these racial barriers (Elvis and the Race, 2016). This was
the time of Rosa Parks not giving up her seat on the bus for a white passenger and Dr. Martin Luther
King, Jr. taking a nonviolent stand to the civil rights movement. It was also when groups like the Ku
Klux Klan and Jim Crow laws were forming. America was divided and there were protests on both
sides. The radio stations white DJs refused to play African American music. Elvis broke through these
barriers by creating his own style of music. He exposed Americans to music they had never bothered
to listen to before because of the racial divide. Elvis allowed white Americans to accept and appreciate

Civilized, Sense And Sensibility, By Jane Austen
Enjoyable, civilized Sense and Sensibility was the first and one of Jane Austen s novels; she wrote it
in 1795, but it was not published for 16 years. It was written by a young woman who ostensibly had
little experience of the world although her fiction proves she missed the little that occurred on her
domestic stage and the story reflects that orientation, as a mother and her three daughters wait
passively while all the interesting men in the vicinity disappear on unexplained missions to London.
In a modern story, the women would have demanded explanations. What gives Sense and Sensibility
its tension and mystery are that the characters rarely say what they mean. There is great gossip within
the women s sphere, but with men. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Edward leaves suddenly for London. The next man to appear is Col. Brandon, played by that
indispensable Alan Rickman. He is attracted to Marianne, but before he can act, she is smitten by the
dashing Willoughby (Greg Wise), who rescues her from a mishap and charms her off her feet. No
sooner have these men appeared when they, too, are called away to London although not before Col.
Brandon has suggested, almost by osmosis, that he knows something unspeakable about his rival
Willoughby.
His secret is the sort of thing that would not be a secret long in the modern age, but in Austen s time,
such things were not spoken of, and Brandon might even allow Marianne to make a disastrous
marriage rather than tell her what her maidenly ears should never hear. This maddening, intriguing
inability to simply blurt out the truth is indispensable to 19th century fiction, and I find it enormously
satisfying. Better the character who leaves us to guess at unspeakable depths than one who bores us
with confessional psychobabble.
The men s departure to London leaves the three daughters and their mother facing an indefinite future
in their sewing circle. So, when a kindly relative proposes a visit to London, they seize upon it with
desperation, and it is there that secrets are revealed and alliances are smashed or formed. The
screenplay, adapted from Austen by Emma Thompson, takes wicked delight

Canada In The 19th Century Essay
The 16th century is really where it all began. Where a man of prudence explored the Gulf of Saint
Lawrence. Who knew this land of green would be re visualised as a world of red? It was only a matter
of time before the south of Canada was bared of its natural existence to a nationalistic, industrialized
and capitalistic society. When columbus found North America in the 15th century, explorers such as
Jacques Cartier wanted the New world for themselves. The term the New World simply reminds us of
the rapid industrialized development America has endured for the past 500 years. The west dominated
the 20th century, with european and North American powers creating a technological revolution by the
end of the 19th century to world war, radicalism ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Critics of the canadian approach argue that non assimilation of immigrants weaken Canada s national
identity because civic nationalism will weaken due to ethnic ones. However, immigrants continue to
support Canada s immigration quo and international organizations glorify Canadian immigration
policy. Metropolitans in canada were attractive to immigrants because they had the ability to better
their lifestyle as cities in Canada began industrializing which provided more sources for employment.
The economy flourished with grand international immigration that primarily favoured British and
European immigrants until 1980 s when the government led the admission of more ethnic cultures.
Canada was therefore named a mosaic for particularism. As multiculturalism became tolerant,
metropolitans such as Toronto and vancouver expressed diversity. Cultural appreciation aided the
acceptance of political difference. Symbolically, in 1965 the maple leaf flag was adopted because
Canada portrayed significant sovereignty and felt the former flag praised Britain rather than
embracing the high rates of immigrants and french canadians. Noticeable immigration is one of the
fundamental socio political issues at the moment. The acceptance of justifiable immigrants, has been
used as precedents for situations such as refugees. The

any other form of creator. While, theism is when you believe in the existence of God. For the past few
100 years there has been a constant debate on these two aspect, Atheism vs. Theism.

Tammany Hall Speech Ideas
People of New York, I have come to you today to address a problem that has plagued all of New york
for centuries. Beginning in the gilded age of 1870, the state government reacted to you, the people.
However, they reacted based on avarice and individual interests. One of the central influences in the
government during the New York gilded age was the democratic, political party Tammany Hall. This
party was founded by Tweed Williams, a poorly taught democrat who went to jail for stealing roughly
25 45 million dollars from taxpayers in 1877. He was able to do this to the people because he had
friends higher up who gave him the power to access the banking industries and bribe people with
money and jobs to stay in office. He stole this money from men, women, and children to spend on
himself, while the people he was supposed to represent lay in poverty. Tweed was essentially tearing
the money out of your pockets, taking the bread off your dinner table, and all the while, smiling right
at you while he took your votes. Adding on, the local government was supposed to be regulated by
these political parties. However, they too were trying to get power and succeeding due to lack of
regulations from the people. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Information on the Distinctive White Beluga Whale
BELUGA WHALE
1) In 2009, a captive beluga whale rescued a diver during a free diving competition. 2. Belugas are
gregarious and live in social groups of 2 25 individuals (the average group size is ten). 3. Belugas are
unique among cetaceans in that the vertebrae in their necks are not fused together. This gives their
heads added manueverability.
2) The beluga whale, or Delphinapterus leucas, is the only member of its genus. It shares the
Monodont family with one other species, Monodon monoceros, otherwise known as the narwhal.
They are in the sub order Odontoceti, which contains 74 species, and the order Cetacea, which
contains 89. This in turn is part of the mammalian clade Cetartiodactyla.
3) Beluga whales are born dark gray, but within 8 years their coloration changes to a distinctive white.
The species sexually dimorphic, whith males roughly 25% larger than females. Males weigh between
1,100 and 1,600 kg and are 3.5 5.5 m in length. Females range between 700 and 1,200 kg, and
between 3 and 4.1 m in length. They are Arctic and sub Arctic, inhabiting the Arctic ocean and its
adjacent seas. Belugas are adapted to a range of habitats including open oceans, shallow coasts, ice
flats, and warm water estuaries. Some populations migrate annually while others remain in an area
year round. The global population is estimated between 60,000 and 80,000 individuals.
4) Belugas were once thought to live up to 30 years, but this is contested by a recent study that

Democracy
Democracy Essay 1
Democracy is a means for the people to choose their leaders and to hold their leaders accountable for
their policies and their conduct in office. The key role of citizens in a democracy is to participate in
public life. Democracy is also a system of rule by laws, not by individuals. Democracy is not a

power because it is a transparent system; the governing doctrine states that citizens have the right to

In life there is no greater pursuit than that of equal voice. Every day people are fighting for the right to
be heard. Democracy is that right on a grand scale. Democracy is not only being heard, but being
listened to. Democracy is when u is given an equal vote on decisions that directly affect you. And
when given this tremendous responsibility, people will surprise you. They rise to the occasion and
educate themselves on the issues at hand. They also work hard to ensure that the next generation is
knowledgeable. All citizens are equal under the law. No one may be discriminated against on the basis
of their race religion, ethnic group, or gender. No one may be arrested, imprisoned, or exiled
arbitrarily. No one is above the law, not even a king or an elected president
In a democracy, the youth are educated. From birth they are taught that their voice matters and their
vote counts. These are rights they must fight to maintain and will prosper from. No, democracies are
not free of flaws. Some say that there is no way that something as simple as a popular vote could null
the evils of unlawful power or social inequality. These woes are valid, but democracy can work. There
are still consequences to right wrongs, and laws to help keep peace and balance. There is a difference
between freedom and chaos.
Without democracy, society suffers. In dictatorships there is no celebration of thought or creativity. A

Thus, the famine is attributed to the poor distribution of grain. Grain was also exported to other
countries during this time, making this a contributing factor to the famine.
Soviet authorities had been well aware of the possibility of a famine, as some had made trips to the
countryside and viewed the lack of seed in the kolkhozes and the decrease in livestock.
Grain production began to recover and by the end of 1934, it was announced that 70% of peasant

Living and Coping with Cystic Fibrosis in the South Asian...
A widely accepted Caucasian disease has since changed; as cases of its existence are appearing in the
South Asian Population (Orenstein, Rosenstein and Stern, 2000). First discovered in 1989, Cystic
Fibrosis (CF) is a genetically predetermined condition, its presences is lifelong and highly complex,
which is why many CF sufferers and families develop various mechanisms in order to adapt to the
condition (Tippingemail, Scholes, Cox, 2010). Cystic Fibrosis causes the body to develop thick, sticky
mucus which clogs the lungs and affects other organs in the body, mainly the pancreas. The layer of
mucus if untreated develops in to a chronic infection which can be detrimental. The pancreas of a CF

Discussions of such issues suggest that other external factors may be influencing the decisions and
maintenance of many CF patients. For instance CF patients need to prioritise the way in which they
self manage their treatment, this can be difficult when trying to balance family, work, education and
other responsibilities and their levels of adherence may fluctuate (Sawicki, Sellers, Robinson, 2009).
These fluctuations can be detrimental to their condition and may result in hospitalisation, causing
additional disruptions in their daily life. However, engaging in so called normal activities might
therefore also reinforce a sense of being healthy and having a nondifferent identity. Conquering a
healthy balance is one which CF patients may need to adopt. One of the significant points from
McCormick et al, (2005) research underlined the substantial clinical differences for females in
comparison to males. The authors found that females had worst disease severity than males. Why
might this difference be occurring? In 2009 Besier, Schmitz and Goldbeck, investigated the effects of
relationship status on life satisfaction, as numerous findings suggest that despite the relationship
status, many females CF patients still reported worse quality of life scores than males (Walters,
Britton, Hodson, 1993). Besier et al, (2009) administrated the Life satisfaction questionnaire on a
sample of 243 CF (129

Harry Potter Betrayal
From Julius Caesar s twenty three stab wounds to Gatsby s disloyal love, the importance of the cruel
act of betrayal in literature has long been discussed. Perhaps less historically, betrayal has also
appeared in the wizarding world of Harry Potter, as two terrible wars redefine values and loyalty
within the wizarding community. However, betrayal also shows itself in acts of love and bravery in
Rowling s beloved series. In the Harry Potter books betrayals are used to reveal truths about
characters, represent development, and uphold the belief held within all seven of the books: that we
are defined by the choices that we make. Within the Harry Potter series, betrayals are often used to
show sides of characters that we might not have otherwise seen. With the first wizarding war in full
swing Lily and James Potter (in hiding from Lord Voldemort and his Death Eaters) are betrayed by
their close friend Peter Pettigrew. As their secret keeper it is his responsibility to protect them to his

Armor is any covering worn as defense against weapons. (Dictionary.com) During the Medieval era,
Knights wore armor to protect themselves and prevent injury during battles. It was expensive to buy

The Domestic Violence And Sex Crimes Units Of The...
Introduction Experience is an attribute of ultimate success in the workforce. In order to gain
experience, I recently completed an internship at the Marion County Prosecutor s Office (MCPO). I
worked for the paralegals within the Sex Crimes and Domestic Violence Units of the Prosecutor s
Office. While completing this internship, I learned several lessons that will help to enhance my
professional ambitions following graduation, while simultaneously learning about the functionality
and dysfunctionality of the organization byand theorizing on how the organization could improve.
Functionality
The Domestic Violence and Sex Crimes Units of the Marion County Prosecutor s Office had
numerous functional aspects to their organization. The organizational structure was one of the
strongest benefactors to the functionality of the office. The Prosecutor s Office could be seen as a
mechanistic or bureaucratic organization, meaning that the office wasis based on a hierarchy with
vertical communication structures. The prosecutors were the highest level of authority; who would
communicate their needs to the paralegals (the middle level authority), and the paralegals would relay
these messages to the interns, who were at the lowest level of the communication structure. There
were were two paralegals within the Domestic Violence Unit who served under eight prosecutors. As
an intern, I was serving under the paralegals. The organizational structure benefitted the lower level

Charleston Dance Research Paper
The Charleston dance is named after the harbor city of Charleston, South Carolina. The Charleston
was a dance that was often performed by the descendants of African slaves in the American south. It is
a blend of African and European sources, and it has had a broad influence on American life and art
Dawn Lille. The Charleston was by the composer/pianist James P. Johnson and originated in a
broadway show called Runnin Wild, where the rhythm was popularized in mainstream dance music in
the United States. The peak of this dance by the people was mid 1926 to 1927. At first, the step started
with a simple twisting of the feet, to rhythm in a lazy sort of way. When the dance hit Harlem, a new
version was added. It became a fast kicking step, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Different Views On Economic Issues
There are three different groups of economists that have many different views on economic issues.
The first type of economics is Supply Side Economics, and according to Library of economics and
liberty it is a term that that is used to describe the fact that supply underlies consumption and living
standards. The second type of economics is Demand Side Economics, and according to Investopedia
Demand Side Economics is based on a belief that the main force affecting overall economic activity
and causing short term fluctuations is consumer demand for goods and services. The last type of
economics is the Monetary Policy, which according to Federal Reserve Education.org is a term that
refers to what the Federal Reserve does to influence the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There are many advantages to the Supply Side Economics and the first one is Lower Taxes. Lowering
taxes is one of the main bases and ideas for the supply side economics. By having the lowering of
taxes it will provide an incentive to earn more by allowing people to keep more of their well earned
money. Also, another huge advantage of the supply side economics is that it urges the claim that high
marginal tax rates encourage individuals to shelter their money from taxes. Also, if they were to cut
tax rates investors will be able to take some extra out and invest it into other things that will allow
them to make even more money. Although, there are many advantages to having Supply Side
economics there are also many weaknesses that the policy possesses. The first weakness is the
reduction of unemployment benefits, if the economists were to cut the tax rate then it would make it
harder for those who are unable to work to get their unemployment checks and will force them to try
and find work. Cutting taxes would make life easier for those have more, and harder for those who
have less. The Supply Side Economy is mostly a huge advantage for the rich and a huge disadvantage
for the poor, because they are not able to receive lots from unemployment due to the government not
receiving lots of money in taxes. Demand Side Economics is a belief that the consumers demand for
goods and services is the force that affects most economic actions and is the reasons for short term

Theories Of Attachment
Attachment is defined as an emotional bond that is formed between a child and an individual that is
developed throughout the child s development. As a human, it is common for us to form emotional
bonds with people we are close with especially to our parents. Most of the studies conducted on the
attachment theory mainly focuses on the attachment between infants and their parents, although
attachments between adults can also occur. Attachment behaviour is not only observed in humans but
also in animals, which is also referred to as imprinting by biologists. This essay will examine the
attachment theory, explore Ainsworth strange situation experiments and discuss how infant attachment
styles affect later development. Early studies on attachment were conducted on animals and one of the
earliest ones was carried out by Konrad Lorenz. His studies eventually led to the discovery of
imprinting, which is defined as the behaviour that takes place during a critical period and involves ...

Learning theory of attachment proposes that infants form attachments based on the provision of food.
In other words, an infant will form attachments to whoever who feeds it. This theory also involves the
processes of classical and operant conditioning because infants form attachments by learning that
some people provide comforts and responses. The more widely accepted evolutionary theory of
attachment states that humans and biologically set to form attachments with others to ensure survival.
The theory also claims that it is care and responsiveness which forms attachment instead of food. To
explain, the greater the response towards an infant s signal, such as crying, smiling and clinging, the
more likely it is to form an attachment with the infant. With complex series of interactions, full
attachment may be formed between the caregiver and the

Borderline Personality Disorder Research Paper
Imagine spending months, even years, solving a problem you never had in the first place. Individuals
with borderline personality disorder often go through this because they are misdiagnosed with bipolar
disorder. Although bipolar disorder and borderline personality disorder are commonly mistaken for
each other, they have several distinctive differences to determine if an individual has one of these
disorders. The biggest difference between these two mental illnesses are the symptoms. Since the
symptoms are different, the treatment of the disorders is different as well. Bipolar disorder is
considered a mood disorder, meaning that the mental illness only affects the person s mood. When an
individual has bipolar disorder, the person experiences ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example, two individuals that both have bipolar disorder may react differently with the same
medications. So, people with bipolar disorder and borderline disorder take all kinds of different
medication to minimize their symptoms. When therapy is needed for these two disorders, there are
different types of practices used for each one. For bipolar disorder, therapy is used that focuses on
maintaining a stable routine, changing behaviors, and ways to cope with mania and depression. With
borderline personality disorder therapy includes how to maintain relationships, understand emotions,

Social Norms
This paper will give a definition of deviance by analyzing the varying types and definition of
deviance. Violations of social norms is key to defining deviance. There are three key features within
social norms: time, place, and situation, that come together to establish deviance. The relativity of the
all of those events combined into one along with who is perceiving the act is what defines deviance
Social Norm are informal rules that help govern a society. Norms differ from place, time period, and
situations. When norms are violated and witnessed the offender, the one who broke the norm, is then
put in to one of two punishment categories. Primary deviance is occurs when the offender breaks a
lesser norm and is only slightly punished, it does ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Criminal deviance is when a person becomes a deviant by disobeying the laws. Criminal deviance is
easy to define because even though laws change from time, place, and situation they are written down
and have already been agreed upon. Social deviance is much more difficult to define due to the
informal nature of social norms. A person can be either non deviant, a criminal deviant, a social
deviant, or bother a criminal and social deviant. Obey the speed limit can show all four these deviants.
On highways in America the left lane is referred to as the fast lane and the right hand lane as the slow
lane . A person going the maximum speed limit in the right hand lane is breaking neither laws nor
social norms. A person going ten miles an hour(mph) under the speed limit in the right lane, assuming
they are not slowing down to turn, is breaking the social norm of not going at least the speed limit, and
is therefore a social deviant. They are not breaking any laws, however. A person going five to ten mph
over the speed limit in the left hand lane is following the social norm. Since the person is going over
the speed limit they are now considered a criminal deviant. A person who is driving 50 mph regardless
of what lane they are is breaking both social norms and criminal laws, which makes them both a social
and criminal

Essay about The Effect of Highspeed Trains on Society
The Effect of Highspeed Trains on Society A major reason in favor of the construction of high speed
trains in America is to relieve airways and traffic congestion. First, delays at airports are costly. Larry
Johnson, director of the Center for transportation Research at Argonne National Laboratory near
Chicago, calculates that passengers lose more that twelve million hours each year in delays at O Hare
airport alone. In 1986, according to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) airlines, delays cost
five billion dollars, including two billion in extra fuel and labor cost, for the ailing airline industry.
According to the FAA, relieving airport congestion will cost one hundred and seventeen billion over
the next decade (Mobey 14). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the next twenty years, this insidious tax is projected to nearly double (Mallinckarodt p1). Bill Fay
said, Cars stuck in traffic waste more fuel and emit more pollutants than cars that are moving (Dahl 4).
High occupancy vehicle (HOV) lanes are one of the primary tools used to reduce traffic congestion on
the state highway system and improve air quality ( HOV Lanes in California #8230; p1). The usual
goal of HOV lane restrictions is to provide overall congestion, and emissions reduction (Mallinckdet.
p 1). However, in recent years, HOV lanes effectiveness in achieving these goals has come in to
question ( HOV Lanes in California #8230; p1). When drivers use a highway, they do not pay the cost
that they may be imposing on other drivers. Ideally, traffic should flow smoothly at the speed limit.
However, as traffic increases, eventually the addition of one more vehicle will slow the flow and
increase the travel time of other vehicles. At this point congestion (the negative externality) begins
(Dahl p4). Sen Daniel Patrick Moynihan said, The train technology, offers great opportunities to
reduce congestion in our surface and air transportation system (Clough 9). Thus building high speed
trains would aid the problem of increasing congestion at America s airports and on the highways.
Those who argue against high speed trains cite their

Goals Of My Goals
Everyone has goals in their lives that s what motivates them everyday. Goals can be as simple as i

  • 2. World War One ( Wwi ) World War One (WWI) is an important event in history and impacted history in a great way for four years during 1914 to 1918. It is known as the Great War because the French, British, and Germans did not know there would be another world war in history. The events occurring through August and July of 1914 had catalysts to help the war build up its stockpile. The war was a conflict between the Allied Powers (France, Russia, Britain, Italy and the United States), and the Central Powers (Germany, Austria Hungary and the Ottoman Empire). The main causes of WWI was the rise in nationalism, which was very strong in Germany becoming a leading factor, economic imperialism, and the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand in 1914 who was heir to the Austro Hungarian throne. In Germany, William II, the King of Prussia and emperor of Germany, was not a good leader, but he exhibited aggressiveness. The rise of German nationalism was exerting influence to the state during his ruling. During his reign, the Farmer s League was organized in the 1890s, and they influenced farmers and the rural masses to mobilize against the Jews (they were jealous of the Jews and hated them due to racism and because they were successful with business enterprises). Anti Semitism was an idea created by Adolf Hitler, which his ideas caused a lot of racism and conflict. The Navy league and Pan German League laid a foundation for German nationalism for WWI. By 1914, Germany was the strongest and highest ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Rieux is of average height and has broad shoulders. He has dark steady eyes, a big, well modeled nose, and thick, tight set lips. His black hair is cut short and slick. He belongs to a small group of people dubbed as the true healers. While he had the opportunity to leave Oran and join his wife, he refused. He remained in Oran to fight the plague with all his abilities and strength. He claims that there is nothing heroic about his actions and that he is simply doing his job. • 4. Asian-American Superhero Analysis Essays, Not Rants! 244: An Asian American Superhero I wasn t sure how I felt about Silk when she first showed up in the Spider Man comics, but it was when she got her own series and a narrative no longer intrinsically tied to Peter Parker that she really came into her own. But on the on the one hand, yeah, another webslinging spider themed hero? We ve already got a lot with Peter Parker, Miles Morales, Gwen Stacy, and Miguel O Hara in books of their own; do we need one more? The thing is, Silk brings with it like each of the other spider books a unique story and character. Obviously, there s Silk/Cindy Moon herself. One of the things that hooked me into the book is something somewhat shallow but terribly important: Cindy is Korean American. Yes, I know, I m ranting about diversity again. But listen. There are precious few Asian superheroes, even less so with their own books. There will always be a thrill in getting to see someone who looks like you represented. But Cindy s Asian ness isn t just a lip service done through line art and surname, the story in Silk features distinctly Asian elements. So quick recap, Cindy got bitten by the same spider that gave Peter Parker his powers, but due to some bad news involving spider killing vampiric Inheritors (it makes sense in context), Cindy ... Her sessions often provide narration for her adventures as she confides in her therapist, which is a fun narrative tool in itself, but the portrayal of therapy as being something both normal and healthy stands out as special in comics. It s not a sign of weakness, but rather a way for Cindy to work out anger issues and the newfound stress of getting used to a modern life (and being a superhero). It s a profound addition that subtly destigmatizes getting help while allowing space in Cindy s life to focus on her family without too much ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 7. The Impact of Large Aircraft on Aircraft Management Essay According to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) aircraft certification, a large aircraft refers to an aircraft of more than 12,500 pounds which is the maximum certificated takeoff weight. The heaviest and largest aircraft in the world have a maximum takeoff weight of over 600 tons. Since larger aircraft have greater capacity, as well as advanced technological features, airport management needs to make changes that cater to their operation. The first reaction of management at large airports was to restrict the new, large aircraft by assigning them to specific terminals, routes and runways. However, this led to delays and air traffic congestion. Given the growing number of new, large aircraft, the only safe and efficient way to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This new standard calls for taxiways and runways to be widened, along with taxiways to taxiways and the runways to taxiways. Although the arrival of these new aircraft has eased airport congestion and continues to meet passenger needs, it presents numerous challenges for airport management. As a result, various changes have been made and others are to be put into effect. The super jumbo is 400,000 pounds heavier, 11 feet longer, 41 feet wider and 15 feet taller than Boeing jumbo jets (Yeamans, 2006). This aircraft, then, requires longer and wider landing space, and airport management has increased airport pavement areas. Where existing land did not allow for expansion, additional land has been identified and new airports constructed. Similarly, the increase in the number of passengers has created a need for more gate hold rooms. New, large aircraft have significantly affected passenger flow, in terms of the queuing network system (Chiu and Walton, 2003). In some airports, adjacent gates may not operate when large planes, such as the super jumbo and the A380, are loading and unloading. Gate capacities have increased more than twofold in airports that have large aircraft. In order to maintain their services, then, many airport managements have increased their number of gate hold rooms. Airports have also expanded the capacity of baggage handling, concourses, ticket ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 13. A Brief Note On Poland s Solidarity Movement Poland s Solidarity Movement in 1989 The Cold War was a state of political hostility characterized by threats, propaganda and other measures short of open warfare, as defined by Google Dictionary. These 1989 Cold War Revolutions largely impacted the world and for many regions, opened up an opportunity to express a new perspective towards the challenges that were taking place throughout these countries. Poland, the Philippines, Chile, South Africa, Ukraine and China were all apart of these non violent overthrows of various dictatorships. Each region endured various types of discrimination and exploitation throughout the Cold Wars end. Whether it was economic exploitation, political discrimination, or the violation of human and civil rights, non violent revolutions rose throughout Eastern Europe. The book, 1989 Democratic Revolutions at the Cold War s End, written by Padriac Kenney, analyzes these overthrows and discusses the outcomes for each region. For Poland, more specifically, these non violent strikes began when they first came under the control of the Soviet Union in 1948. However, their resistance began in 1944, when the Soviet Union had just began liberating Polish territory. Starting off with an armed resistance from 1944 to 1947 and ending with the Solidarity movement in 1989, Poland finally had control of the government from the Communists. With a brutal start, Polish oppositionists realized there was a better, non violent way to go. The rise of the Solidarity ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Movie Analysis of Hotel Rwanda Hotel Rwanda, released in December of 2004, is based on the true story on the life of Paul Rusesabagina, a hotel manager of Hotel des Mille Collines, who saved the lives of 1,268 people in the face of genocide. This movie is based on the true events of the Rwandan Genocide in 1994 that occurred in Kigali, the capital and largest city of Rwanda in Africa. It touches upon when the Hutu extremists of Rwanda initiated an act of genocide on thousands of the minority group, Tutsis. This movie was directed/written by Terry George and Keir Pearson. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Paul makes it clear that he does everything only to protect his family. As he tells his wife when she tells him to call his people to help the neighbors being attacked, I give the powerful guests of the hotel everything, so that in return, they will protect my family when troubling times come. They are our neighbors, not family. As the attacks get worse, this mindset changes as a threat to kill a group of Tutsis in front of him is presented. Toward the beginning of the movie, after the attacks begin in Paul s neighborhood, a large group of other Tutsis neighbors are hiding in the Rusesabagina home. Hutu armies come to kill all the cockroaches in his home, including his wife and kids. At first, Paul offers bribes of money and alcohol to save only his family, but later offers almost triple the amount of money for the whole group, including expensive jewels. This is only one of the first scenes that Paul bribes armies to avoid the killing of those he is protecting. With the character of Rusesabagina, the filmmaker portrayed him as a humble man, with no inconstancies in any of his actions. This goes along with the purpose of the film, which was to show the actions of a hero, who saved thousands from genocide. The main antagonists of the film would be the Hutu. They could be considered villains not only for their hate for Tutsis, but for the ruthless killing of close to a million. The directors, did just enough in every scene to remind the ones ... Taking a Look at Home Schooling Home schooling is a type of education that takes place in the home; it can be defined as parents or a small group of students from a community studying an academic curriculum at home or any confined place either for personal reasons or any other purpose. Paradoxically, looking at Virginia Woolf s work, The Death of a Moth , one would come to believe that none of that matters because all living beings will suffer the fate of death. In Aristotle s rhetoric, such feeling can be defined as pathos: a condition that evokes pity or sadness. So at what point do we,as humans, determine what part of the land is more important than the other? We are also a part of the land pyramid (Leopold). So why do we feel a sort of superiority to the other members of the community or the need to use so many of the land s resources futilely and excessively? The transparent and most logical answer would be sustenance. All creatures live to survive, and death is motivation enough for life to have value. Leopold could have argued that man s exploitation of the land is superfluous, but others could respond with a rebuttal stating that the exploitation is for the betterment of the human society. The puzzling aspect of such situations is that the existence of obligations over and above self interest is taken for granted in such rural community enterprises as the betterment of roads, schools, churches, and baseball teams (Leopold). No sooner have these men appeared when they, too, are called away to London although not before Col. Beginning in the gilded age of 1870, the state government reacted to you, the people. However, they reacted based on avarice and individual interests. One of the central influences in the government during the New York gilded age was the democratic, political party Tammany Hall. This party was founded by Tweed Williams, a poorly taught democrat who went to jail for stealing roughly 25 45 million dollars from taxpayers in 1877. He stole this money from men, women, and children to spend on himself, while the people he was supposed to represent lay in poverty. Tweed was essentially tearing the money out of your pockets, taking the bread off your dinner table, and all the while, smiling right at you while he took your votes. Grain was also exported to other countries during this time, making this a contributing factor to the famine. Soviet authorities had been well aware of the possibility of a famine, as some had made trips to the countryside and viewed the lack of seed in the kolkhozes and the decrease in livestock. Grain production began to recover and by the end of 1934, it was announced that 70% of peasant households were in collectives rising to 90% in 1936, however the figures never rose to what they were before the introduction of collectivisation. A widely accepted Caucasian disease has since changed; as cases of its existence are appearing in the South Asian Population (Orenstein, Rosenstein and Stern, 2000). First discovered in 1989, Cystic Fibrosis (CF) is a genetically predetermined condition, its presences is lifelong and highly complex, which is why many CF sufferers and families develop various mechanisms in order to adapt to the condition (Tippingemail, Scholes, Cox, 2010). Cystic Fibrosis causes the body to develop thick, sticky mucus which clogs the lungs and affects other organs in the body, mainly the pancreas. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Discussions of such issues suggest that other external factors may be influencing the decisions and maintenance of many CF patients. For instance CF patients need to prioritise the way in which they self manage their treatment, this can be difficult when trying to balance family, work, education and other responsibilities and their levels of adherence may fluctuate (Sawicki, Sellers, Robinson, 2009). These fluctuations can be detrimental to their condition and may result in hospitalisation, causing additional disruptions in their daily life. However, engaging in so called normal activities might therefore also reinforce a sense of being healthy and having a nondifferent identity. Conquering a healthy balance is one which CF patients may need to adopt. One of the significant points from McCormick et al, (2005) research underlined the substantial clinical differences for females in comparison to males. The authors found that females had worst disease severity than males. Why might this difference be occurring? In 2009 Besier, Schmitz and Goldbeck, investigated the effects of relationship status on life satisfaction, as numerous findings suggest that despite the relationship status, many females CF patients still reported worse quality of life scores than males (Walters, Britton, Hodson, 1993). • 38. Harry Potter Betrayal From Julius Caesar s twenty three stab wounds to Gatsby s disloyal love, the importance of the cruel act of betrayal in literature has long been discussed. Perhaps less historically, betrayal has also appeared in the wizarding world of Harry Potter, as two terrible wars redefine values and loyalty within the wizarding community. However, betrayal also shows itself in acts of love and bravery in Rowling s beloved series. In the Harry Potter books betrayals are used to reveal truths about characters, represent development, and uphold the belief held within all seven of the books: that we are defined by the choices that we make. Within the Harry Potter series, betrayals are often used to show sides of characters that we might not have otherwise seen. With the first wizarding war in full swing Lily and James Potter (in hiding from Lord Voldemort and his Death Eaters) are betrayed by their close friend Peter Pettigrew. Also, another huge advantage of the supply side economics is that it urges the claim that high marginal tax rates encourage individuals to shelter their money from taxes. Also, if they were to cut tax rates investors will be able to take some extra out and invest it into other things that will allow them to make even more money. Although, there are many advantages to having Supply Side economics there are also many weaknesses that the policy possesses. The first weakness is the reduction of unemployment benefits, if the economists were to cut the tax rate then it would make it harder for those who are unable to work to get their unemployment checks and will force them to try and find work. Cutting taxes would make life easier for those have more, and harder for those who have less. The Supply Side Economy is mostly a huge advantage for the rich and a huge disadvantage for the poor, because they are not able to receive lots from unemployment due to the government not receiving lots of money in taxes. In 1986, according to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) airlines, delays cost five billion dollars, including two billion in extra fuel and labor cost, for the ailing airline industry. The usual goal of HOV lane restrictions is to provide overall congestion, and emissions reduction (Mallinckdet. p 1). However, in recent years, HOV lanes effectiveness in achieving these goals has come in to question ( HOV Lanes in California #8230; p1). When drivers use a highway, they do not pay the cost that they may be imposing on other drivers. Ideally, traffic should flow smoothly at the speed limit. However, as traffic increases, eventually the addition of one more vehicle will slow the flow and increase the travel time of other vehicles. At this point congestion (the negative externality) begins (Dahl p4).
