Power Grid Systems ( Essp 2015 )
Electricity Subsector What was once a novelty; energy is now the ultimate necessity for any modern
country. A sustain power grid is what separates a solvent nation from a third world country. The
scenario of one of the three power grids failing would cause chaos to that area but would be
sustainable with the capabilities of the remaining grid systems (ESSP 2015). A major sustain loss of
power grid across the United States would interrupt commerce of the food chain via manufacturing
and delivery of product, water systems, federal, state and local line of communications which would
paralyze law enforcement, civil unrest would spread across the nation.
The responsibility lies directly on the shoulders of federal government entities and ... Show more

Since, they are controlled by remote means this makes the power grids susceptible to outside
influence. The federal and private sectors through safeguards within their departments are providing
critical infrastructure resilient, and security, which strengthens and maintains the power grids.
Pertaining to the power grid with the connected bodies of the federal government and private sector
the widespread accessibility via cyber space automated systems of power plants, distribution systems
in its self could be problematic...i.e. could contribute to incapacitating large areas of power grids
system via cyber attacks. Possible consideration would be to isolate communications from standard
cyber space via secured lines (buzzle.com 2016). Less debilitating to grid system are attacks as in one
on one sabotage on individual power plants or remote distribution and substations that would interrupt
local areas. Assuming power plants have adequate security on site will effectively reduce power plant
attacks. In regards to distribution and substations in suburban or rural areas all one has to do would be
to take a drive through the countryside or down a neighborhood to understand these are soft targets
protect only by a chain link fence.
All energy providers have set forth plans and actions to overcome natural disasters and human errors

Here in the United States the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Federal White Collar
Crime Center (NW3C) partnered and established the IC3, which is the Internet Crime Complaint
Center. This is a central place where Internet crimes can be reported and then those crimes will be
investigated and transferred to the appropriate law enforcement agencies as well as appropriate
regulatory agencies.
1. The Internet crimes can often overlap between fraud and other crimes. Because of these overlapping
crimes it is important the there is communication and cooperation between our own agencies and
international agencies.
2. Discuss the level of cooperation between our law enforcement agencies and international agencies
and the problems they face.
B. The overwhelming amount of Internet fraud and crimes on individuals, small business, financial
institutions can be overwhelming for law enforcement because of the lack of fully trained, qualified
investigators. Basically we have more crime that we have laws and law enforcement officials can
handle.
1. We must have sufficient laws against these particular crimes. Our judicial system faces challenges
in developing the laws against the crimes. The other problem that law enforcement faces is the
collection of evidence and the fine line between public and private information available online. In
some cases there have been problems with collecting evidence and their relation to the first and

Musical Analysis Of Fantasia
is the animated musical sequel to its originator in 1940, Fantasia. It was released in December of 1999
and was produced by Walt Disney Feature Animation and Walt Disney Pictures. Walt Disney s brother,
Roy E. Disney was the helm of producing it and so was Donald W. Ernst, who co produced it. The
movie includes many celebrities that introduced the live action parts with the classical music
counterpart. It took many, many years to get the approval to make the sequel and it did really well in
the box office. But the more important part from this movie is the music behind it, the music really
goes along with all seven of the segments shown and they all have an art style behind it.
The orchestra behind the film was performed by Chicago Symphony Orchestra and was conducted by
James Levine. The movie contains seven segments and has an important musical piece behind it,
which they are written by somebody significant in the classical music world. Fantasia 2000 opens with
the most famous concert music of all, Beethoven s Symphony No. 5 in C minor. Following the first
film in 1940, this first segment follows abstract images that form the ideas of the heavens, butterflies,
bats, and darkness. The second sequence is Pines of Rome by Ottorino Respighi, which follows the
journey of humpback whale calf as it learns to fly (only because of a supernova). The whale is
separated from its parents, but manages to reunite with the entire school, that ends up coming through

Isis Are A Bunch Of Muslims Just Because
If you think ISIS are a bunch of Muslims just because they claim to be Muslims and have a load of
gibberish written on their flags then you are being fooled. And maybe you ll live in that misconception
forever. And I don t blame you. Anyone would think ISIS are Muslim by what you are shown and are
driven to see by the media. At first, even I thought for a moment that ISIS are Muslims. The fact that
they walk down the streets with their pride, holding flags with Allah printed on. And when they
deliver their speech on those pathetic leaked videos stating Allah commands them to do this. We
should give them a round of applause for the characters they play.
First, of all, let me start off by telling you some of the facts that you might be familiar with. A number
of journalist from over Syria have reported that more Muslims are being killed by these so called
Muslims . In countries like Syria and Iraq, not only Muslims are suffering, but also non religious
people. So why is it that they are killing their own people if they claim to be people of Allah?
According to a report released by the United Nations, approximately 9,347 civilians in Iraq in the first
eight months of 2014 were killed by this group of terrorists. Furthermore, as we all know about the
Paris attack and as the death of 130 people was confirmed according to CNN (Cable News Network)
with hundreds being injured, even then it was confirmed that far more Muslims were killed than any
other ethnicity group.

Example Of Natural Disasters
Natural disasters throughout the world are very frightening although there might be reasons to look at
them in a different perspective? How you may ask, seeing homes and hundreds of people panic for
their lives is all a natural reaction because we don t know what to do for the most part. However there
are other ways into viewing these disasters not only as that nature stops by a decides to struck a certain
place on earth but, that we have a partial responsibility in these disasters. We all influence how earth s
environments work and how we treat it eventually builds up and causes natural disasters. For the most
part literature can give you a whole different perspective on natural disasters.
In the book Black Nature Four Centuries of African American Nature Poetry by Camille T. Dungy she
gives many examples of natural disasters in cycle six. Take one of the poems named Earthquake Blues
by Ishmael Reed talks about an one of the most devastating disasters an earthquake. It s a short poem
as well as a story. How an earthquake was felt by animals before it struck, then it gets into details how
the earthquakes took the life of a little child in a nursery. However the most significant line in the
story was Mr. Earthquake Mr. Earthquake you don t know good from bad which made so much sense
to me. A natural disaster hits when it hits it doesn t know if it s causing something good or bad. Some
disaster happen where a few people can be hurt and others occur where many lives are at

Summary Of Martin Luther s Letter To The Archbishop
The letter written by Martin Luther to the Archbishop of Mainz stated simply, clarifies why
indulgences should not be sold. Martin Luther implores with the Archbishop to have pity on him for
being so opinionated to a person so holy and significant, as ordinarily he would not dare, but he must
tell the Archbishop his thoughts. To be specific, his long time disagreement with the selling of
indulgences, but he can stand it no longer. The Archbishop is warned that St Peter s is selling the
indulgences under his name. The letter then explains that the obtaining of these indulgences causes the
people to believe that they and their loved ones are saved from Purgatory. No matter how appalling the
crime a person has committed, if they purchase these ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Archbishop is reminded by Luther that all people must work out their salvation themselves.
Moreover, indulgences are taught in church, yet devotion and love are seldom preached, despite being
much more important. What was significant was that the people should learn the bible and the grace of
God, as indulgences were never mentioned in the bible. Luther then pleads that he himself is helpless
to do anything to aid this problem, but the Archbishop can, if he so chooses.
I believe Martin Luther wrote this letter out of desperation. Out of his eyes, the church was not
following God s lead. This must have terrified him, and made him feel like he had to do something.
Luther obviously cared very much about the church, so when he thought the church was not following
the bible, it must have sent him into a panic. To Luther, the selling and purchasing of indulgencies was
nothing but a scam for the church to make money.
Due to the letter and Luther s 95 Theses, Martin Luther was excommunicated. Consequently, Luther
and his supporters reformed the church. This reformation caused many people to lessen their support

When the Wasps Drowned
In when the wasp drowned and the darkness out there the theme of death is presented within the
characters and the twisted storyline. A number of techniques such as symbolism, tone and narrative are
used to portray these themes to the reader. In when the wasps drowned Eveline is portrayed as being
mature and protective over her siblings and more importantly the truth of the ring. In the darkness out
there Mrs Rutter is at first seen to be a typical old lady who has a dark secret. Within both stories there
is a strong contrast of characterisation and the overall voice of the story which can create an impact on
the reader in different ways, also in both stories there is a lot of similarities and contrasts of how this is
presented. In ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Her maturity is also confirmed when she is shown to be barefoot on the lino... washing up which is
something you d expect from an adult not a pre teen child. Eveline displays the characteristics of an
adult especially when she on numerous occasions trying to take control for example she hoses the
wasps off Therese in an instant also when she leads the children back to the garden; Eveline as a result
is trying to take the role of her mother and trying to shield her sibling from anything that could harm
them mentally and physically. In addition this could be the reason why Eveline doesn t build up the
murder and covers up the hole as she was in denial and still tries to keep her control with brushing
away the ring to hide any evidence. Eveline is one minute shown to act too old for playing with the
children and she fashions herself her own bikini (which is quite a mature item of clothing, maybe this
could be to make her feel older) and the next she is shown to stop talking about the body and is in
rejection as a result. Lastly a contrast to her mature self is that she needed confirmation when she
found the body by asking for a torch this shows that she doesn t have the amount of maturity needed
to make her own judgement and follow her instincts Penelope Lively succeeds in illustrating a contrast
in characterisation and voice in The Darkness Out There this is especially evident with the portrayal of
Mrs Rutter. Her character is developed in

Cubicles Are Not Appropriate For Modern Offices
Cubicles are not appropriate for modern offices. Instant and easy communication is built on teams
working efficiently together. This necessitates an open work space environment. Currently cubicles
prevent employees from communication. It is not hard to see that employees just call each other on
phone every day. They even only know each other by sound rather than see each other ever. Open
work space is needed now to boost the collaboration and provide more value to the satisfaction of the
employees.
Let us picture the open workspace. Instead of building costly concrete buildings, we will recreate the
office environment. We will eliminate cubicles and set up open space for the employees. Employees
would be able to work on a set of tasks together. For example, programmers in the company, most of
the time, are in charge of only a small part of the whole project. If they cannot communicate well, it
always doubles the time and the cost. In this respect, these key features make a good open space:
 More whiteboard, comfortable bean sofa, multiple cafeterias, other places to read and work.
Employees can move their desk and chairs rather than stay in the confined offices all day.
 More areas that hold more than one person to encourage communication.
 Purpose free generic thinking areas in open plan spaces, which encourage workers to do their
thinking in the presence of other people, rather than alone.
 To protect privacy, private offices and meeting rooms will also be

Anthony Swofford Jarhead 2003 Jarhead is a Non fictional book written from a marine s point of view

deployed as a scribe for an somewhat crazy officer. As Swofford was ordered to draw how a Marines

first impression if you ask me. Later on that officer is removed, because many of the Marines write
statements about what physical harm he had done to them. I feel like this event had set his mind set on
the way he went. He hates the Marines more and more the longer he is deployed. He says that it is

The Declaration Of The Rights Of Man And The Citizen Analysis
By reading the Encyclopedie and the Declaration of the Rights of Man and the Citizen, one can
understand that there were many problems concerning people during that time, such as the creation of
a just government as well as the responsibility of a father. Firstly, the author in the Encyclopedie put
forth his belief of a just government, in which the rights of the people would be preserved. In other
words, this could also show the people s fear at the time of a creation of a tyranny or a government
which was regulated for the benefit of those who governed only. Moreover, the author argued against
other writers saying that their reason for one to oblige to follow the unjust laws of the government
because they were born the subject of their fathers

Chemical Reaction Investigation
Introduction:
A rate of reaction is how fast or slow a chemical reaction happens. In order for a chemical reaction to
occur it must have a great amount of energy and the particles in a chemical reaction must collide
frequently. There are a variety of factors which can affect the rate of a reaction, these include
temperature, surface area, concertation, agitation and a catalyst. One of the factors that we have
investigated above includes the measurement of the surface area between three Aspirin tablets. The
first tablet was kept whole, the second tablet was cut into four pieces and the last tablet was crushed
into fine powder. During this experiment my group had predicted that the crushed powder would have
a higher surface area therefore a faster ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is because particles in the reaction will move faster gaining more energy causing more collisions
to occur. If a chemical reaction had a low temperature then the particles would move slower and
would less likely collide.
During this experiment, it was essential to have a hypothesis as it outlines your predictions and
guesses. My hypothesis was supported through both my data and research because I predicted that the
room temperature would have a faster reaction rate than the cold temperature. If my hypothesis was
rejected the data would be more accurate. My research would determine if my hypothesis or data was
accurate or not.
Not much problems occurred during the experiment as many things went smoothly. There are many
variables which need to be controlled these include the same amount of hydrochloric acid and calcium
carbonate when investigating the different temperatures and the same person measuring the volume of
gas throughout the entire experiment. Throughout all trials the beakers didn t contain the same amount
of water. Therefore not all variables were controlled. This problem could affect the reading of data. In
order for the results to be more accurate, the method should say a specific amount of what the water in
the beaker should be filled up to. This will ensure that the experiment is more

Right Bedroom Interior Design
When it comes to selecting the right bedroom lamps that will make the interior design of your room
there are a number of different factors, which need to be taken into consideration. Because there are so
many different types of lights a person can now utilize it may take you some to choose which are the
right ones for your particular bedroom interior design.
But what you do need to do is to ensure that you have sufficient lighting within the room. The main
types of lighting that will be used in most bedrooms today is either halogen or tungsten both of which
can enhance the design you have gone for. Tungsten is the more commonly used as it is provides a
much softer lighting effect, whilst halogen is very crisp and bright. Below are some ideas, which can

For those who do not have sufficient space in a room to include bed side tables then why not fit light
sconces to the walls on either side of the beds headboard where you would normally place the
bedroom lamps. Not only will they provide sufficient light for a person to be able to see what they are
doing whilst in bed, but also will provide the room with a very stylish touch.
So as you can see from above there are a number of different ways you can use bedroom lamps to
enhance the feel and overall design look of your room. Therefore, rather than sticking with the more
traditional take a look around your lighting store or online to see what other ideas you could

The Butterfly Effect Essay
Some would say that life is based upon the decisions one makes. Each decision made, each choice
selected, can have great consequences on their future. Like a student choosing to procrastinate on a
report due the next day, resulting in a full letter grade down, causing parental disapproval and life long
regrets, then causing mistakes that lead to more regrets and ultimate failure. Or, imagine, two young
people rushing to their jobs and internships, one precariously balancing two coffees in one hand and
files in the other, and the other person walking fast whilst speaking on the phone. They crash into each
other, boiling hot coffee seeping into pristine white clothing; an incident which led to several

The story goes that young Romeo meets the fair and lovely Juliet, and they fall in love with each
other, but both are the heirs to feuding families. Due to said feud, they end up dying for each other in
the end, ultimately ending the aforementioned feud. So what truly caused their deaths? After all,
Shakespeare wrote his play to be strongly implicative of fate being the culprit; from the beginning, he
notes the couple to be a pair of star crossed lovers (The Prologue. Line 6.), doomed to die because it
was their destiny to do so. If these two met, it was writ in the stars they d also meet death. So was fate
at fault here? If it were, it d definitely make the story more emphatic. Fate is perceived as unchanging,
final. It is definite, and people love circumstances where the odds are stacked against characters.
Viewers and readers are likelier to pity the young couple, to become more emotionally inclined to the
storyline. In other words, fate would make it more romantic romantic as in suggestive of an idealized
reality. In the play, there s certainly a strong element of coincidence, and coincidence is really just fate
dressed up fancy, isn t it? However, there s plenty of room for choice as well. Fate is definite, but not
quite realistic. To be more detailed about the storyline, the play begins with establishing who the
Montagues and Capulets are that is, two of

The Expectation Management Of A Parcel Delivery Company
Introduction
This paper will look into the Expectation Management of a parcel delivery company and how to
properly reduce the level of service in order to redefine the company s business model. It will look at
the promises the company makes and if they are realistic and how they will follow through, the
choices it offers it customers and if the too are realistic or sustainable. The intent is to create a tiered
value offering based on the customers communicated service criteria. Based on what a company learns
from the communication of what the customer expects, the company should be able to define its
customer service business model.
Managing Expectations

In order to make a realistic promise the company must know what the customer expects and its
limitations with providing that level of service or if that is unrealistic request. The company must
communicate with the customer on what their expectations are, so that the company could then
evaluate if that is a feasible feat for the company to achieve, or if the expectations of the customer are
unrealistic. The higher the level of expectation the customer brings, will determine their personal
evaluation of service (Zeithaml, Bitner, Gremler, 2013, p 429); and the higher level of service quality
they expect to received. In order for the customer to believe they received high quality of service their
expectations must be met. In pursuance of fulfilling the customer expectation of service received the
customer must be afforded options or choices related to the service received.
Offer Choices Offering choices to customers, gives the customer more belief that they have control of
the level of service they will receive, and that, that level of service will be met. With a parcel shipping
company, the higher the price the more the customer will expects to have their level of service
achieved. In marketing, customers relate time/money and speed/quality; if a customer perceives that

Prohibition Movement Research Paper
The numerous parallels between the prohibition of alcohol and the current drug war are uncanny. The
primary groups leading the prohibition movement were the Women s Christian Temperance Union
(WCTU) and the Anti Saloon League (ASL). Both groups represented large, religious non partisan
voting blocs which blamed alcohol for much of society s problems. They specialized in high pressure
tactics and effectively ousted politicians who didn t vote accordingly. In fact, the ASL s leader, Wayne
Wheeler, proudly coined the term pressure group.

traction during World War I. Wayne Wheeler of the ASL called the Brewers Association the enemy in

The Elements Of Job Satisfaction
1.0 Introduction Job satisfaction can be defined as psychological state of how an individual feels
towards work, in other words, it is people‟s feelings and attitudes about variety of intrinsic and
extrinsic elements towards jobs and the organizations they perform their jobs in. The elements of job
satisfaction are related to pay, promotion, benefits, work nature, supervision, and relationship with
colleagues. Employees‟ satisfaction is considered as all around module of an organization‟s human
resource strategies. According to Simatwa (2011) Job satisfaction means a function which is positively
related to the degree to which one‟s personal needs are fulfilled in the job situation. Kuria (2011)

satisfaction is supremely important in an organization because it is what productivity depends on. If

Development of the company s performance management needs clarity in the areas of monitoring
work progress, including the allocation of funds both monetary rewards and funding for gaming
development, and eliminating social hierarchy s.
Strategic planning and growth are areas of the company that need to be addressed to insure that the
direction of the business is clear for both employees as well as consumers. Issues arisen from within
the company are lack in training of new employees, constant updated training workshops for
established employees and to better the training received into hiring new employees. 2. DISCUSSION
2.1 Organisational Structure
Organisational structure is a developing concept within the constantly changing business environment
with new technology shaping how tasks can be done more effectively and efficiently. A
technologically advanced company such as Valve embraces the changing environment and has adapted
the no manager s concept within the creative industry. Zarzaru (2013) states, within an organisation,
the dimension which concerns the choice of how work is organized and who is allocated the work is
formed by sharing knowledge, referred to as the human dimension, with elements of the
organisational structure fully reliant on knowledge management projects and the physical human
thought process, this concept is not fully reached within Valve, but is easily achievable.

Aardwolves Compare And Contrast
Amazingly, aardvarks and aardwolves can eat 300,000 termites in one night! That s probably more
than all the termites you have seen in your life. Aardvarks and aardwolves have similar diets and
habitats, but they live very different lives. Both aardvarks and aardwolves have features that help them
survive and get their food. These mammals are about three feet long. Aardwolves can grow to be 30
pounds; however aardvarks can grow to be 140 pounds. Aardwolves have yellowish white fur with
black stripes, while aardvarks have grayish brown short coarse hair. They both have long sticky
tongues, but aardvarks also have long ears and powerful claws and feet. Aardvarks and aardwolves

The Negotiation Of The Furniture Store And My...
In this particular instance, from my perspective as the furniture manufacturer, I believe that
negotiation would be the best means by which to solve the problem. By using negotiation, the
furniture store and my manufacturing business may be able to reconcile and continue dealing with
each other after we have resolved the issue. With negotiation, the tone is not very formal, outside legal
counsel is not required, and the parties to negotiation set their own terms, making it more cost
effective and quicker than other methods. By comparison, in the case of arbitration or litigation, the
proceedings are far more formal and expensive, the process takes much longer, and in the case of
litigation in particular, the decisions of a trial are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This may lead to customers getting angry and withdrawing from purchasing anything from the
furniture store. Therefore, due to the potential harm the holdup may cause, I would offer a formal
apology to both the store owner and the store s customers in this situation. An apology letter may calm
the customers down and may keep them motivated to remain on the waiting list. Since apology law
protects this from being seen as an admission of guilt in Ontario, this may help to facilitate
reconciliation. Upon negotiating, I would agree to offer some of the money lost, and would I would
also assure that a written contract with the supplier will be created so that I can assure the store owner
that an issue such as this one will not occur again.
It s not likely that the furniture store would be able to fight my business all the way to the Supreme
Court of Canada . The simple fact of the matter is that in any legal action, there is no inherent right to
the Supreme Court. Only very few cases get heard by the Supreme Court, and they are often the ones
that deal with very serious injustices, and usually pertain to criminal matters. Thus, one type of case
they would be very unlikely to hear is a breach of contract case involving two small businesses. As
well, a significant proportion of civil cases do not move past the Discovery stage and actually proceed
to trial. After a settlement is made before moving to trial, it is impossible for the case to be heard by
any court of

Endangered Species
Many species vital to ensuring that today s environment will thrive are becoming extinct. If a species
is slowly dwindling, and in imminent danger of becoming nonexistent, this species is considered to be
endangered. One in four mammals, one in eight birds, one third of all amphibians and 70% of the
world s assessed plants on the... IUCN Red List are in jeopardy (IUCN, 2016). According to the
International Union for Conservation of Nature, or IUCN, upwards of 16,000 species are threatened
with extinction, including both plants and animals (IUCN, 2016). Before becoming endangered, a
species will show warning signs, either by starting to lose biological diversity or by losing the habitats
for that species to flourish in, or in the worst case, both. The word endangered can sometimes be
confused with threatened, extirpated, or extinct. Extirpated refers to the state of a species where its
population has died out in a certain area or range, but other populations of said species still exist
elsewhere (Olden, Julian D., 2008). When a species is considered threatened, or vulnerable, this refers
to the state of the species being susceptible to endangerment and extinction ( Extinction crisis
escalates ). So if a species is threatened, the first signs of endangerment come along, which are similar
signs to that of a species in danger of becoming threatened, including lack of genetic diversity, or
overhunting may be evident. ( Extinction crisis escalates ). When a species is labelled

Religious Characters in The Canterbury Tales by Chaucer
*Works Cited Not Included
When thinking of the figures in the church, they are thought to be loyal, respectful, giving, and
dedicated. Sadly to say this, but not all figures follow that description. In
The Canterbury Tales , Chaucer shows the corruption of the church in the medieval period through
some of his characters, particularly through the Nun, the Monk, and the Friar. Yet, Chaucer does show
one character, the Parson, as goodness and holiness in the church. Nuns are member of a religious
order for women, living in a convent under vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience. Their orders vary
in the stipulations of the vows, some being permanent, and others only for ... Show more content on

One positive point is that she does have a clean mouth and watches what she says. Monks have
abandoned the world for religious reasons and devote their lives, either separately or in a community,
to spiritual perfection. The vows of celibacy, poverty, and obedience under which they live, are termed
the religious counsels. A person bound by such vows is known as a religious. Chaucer s Monk s sport
was hunting. The Rule of good Saint Benet or Saint
Maur (Prologue, 177) says hunters are not holy men (Prologue, 182). He does not keep to his studies,
but instead would rather be doing labor. In addition, he holds worldly possessions, such as his wrought
gold cunningly fashioned pin (Prologue,
200), which shows that he has money. Friars differ from monks, in that the monk was attached to a
specific community within which he led a withdrawn life, having no direct contact with the secular
world.
Friars, on the other hand, belonged to no particular monastic house, but to a general order and worked
as an individual in the non religious world. Thus, friars and monks are not on synonymous terms.
Friars are members of certain religious orders who practice the principles of monastic life and devote
themselves to the service of humanity in the secular world.

Medea Internal Conflict Essay
In Medea, by Euripides, conflicts play a major role in the creation of the play. Some examples of these
conflicts are with Medea and Jason, Medea and herself, and Medea and Creon. Medea is shown to be
a strong, independent woman who does what she wants as well as doesn t let anything stand in her
way. She shares qualities of a traditional male at the time, and the qualities of a traditional female.
Euripides makes this clear in the play by creating conflicts to prove women can be a powerful
character and that the play in general challenges the idea of misogyny.
Internal conflicts within Medea shed light on her true character and her difficulties to make decisions.
Throughout the play, there are many cases of Medea contemplating her ... Show more content on

It shows how she does have a heart and a conscience, which was something readers weren t too sure
about prior to this internal conflict, since she killed her brother without any issues. Euripides makes it
obvious that she is strong, and headstrong about her decision to destroy Jason.
Medea s conflict with Jason proves to be the main conflict in the play, which really sheds light into the
fact that Euripides created this play to challenge the notion of feminism. After Jason s betrayal, Medea
decides to take control. It is evident in the way she manipulates other characters within the play, and
how she handles situations she is in, that she is quite intelligent. Her motivation and will to
accomplish her own goals, portrays Medea as the complete opposite of a typical patriarchal woman
who embodies the norms of patriarchy in Greek society. In the play, Jason says, I married you, chose
hatred and murder for my wife no woman, but a tiger... (1. 1343 44) This quote shows the misogyny
with Jason, because he is saying that him and the society have made Medea this way. But maybe
Medea started acting
McBane 3 this way because of how Jason lacked respect for her and drove her to do the horrendous
actions. Medea lashing out on Jason further proves the fact that she is her own woman, and becomes
the first symbol of feminism in the Greek culture. Another example of Medea s

Us Support And Agendas Within The Middle East
US support and agendas within the Middle East have been extremely complicated in the last century.
Starting with the backing of the Shah of Iran in the early 1950s to the present day conflict in Syria,
there appears to be no decision without adverse secondary and tertiary effects. Since the Persian Gulf
War, US policy has been fully supportive of the Arabs and Turks while limiting official support for the
Kurds in Turkey, Iraq, and Syria. Nevertheless, unofficially, the US has fully supported the Kurds
militarily through the establishment of long term partnerships between military forces. While always a
point of contention with Turkey and the Government of Iraq (GOI), the recent increase in support for
Kurdish forces in Syria to oppose the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) brought the issue to
the forefront. The time for US policy to withhold support for the Kurds is past due to their critical role
in the campaign against ISIL. The US attempted to establish a coalition amongst the Turks and the
Arabs but this has largely failed to turn the tide of ISIL s advance. However, following the consistent
successes of the Kurds advance wresting control of northeastern Syria away from ISIL, it is a foregone
conclusion that the US requires an alliance with the Kurds if they wish to establish some semblance of
stability in the Middle East. In the end, can the US ethically and morally provide support to the Kurds,
ignoring requests from US allies in the region?

Radio Frequency Identification ( Rfid ) Technology Essay
Radio frequency identification (RFID) technology is used to electronically identify, track, and store
information on a tag. Its main components are a tag, reader, and a database. It is used by all levels of
government in various well known areas, such as logistics support for the military and highway tolls.
The purpose of this paper is to analyze the use of this technology by the United States Federal
government and some of its major agencies, including the Department of Homeland Security, the
Department of Defense, the Department of State, and Social Security Administration. There are more
institutions within the Federal government that already use or are strongly considering implementing
RFID technology, but have not yet done so for a number of reasons, such as lack of funding, privacy
or security concerns. The main benefits and threats of this technology will be discussed for the
institutions listed.
Keywords: RFID, technology, United States, Federal Government All levels of the United States
government, from federal to local, use radio frequency identification (RFID) technology, and it is
applied in various ways. The benefits of this technology are convenience, speed, effective data

Mount Vesuvius Analysis
AS 91202.
Demonstrate understanding of a significant event in the classical world.
In 79 AD the towns of Pompeii and Herculaneum were destroyed by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius.
Mount Vesuvius is a stratovolcano which means its eruptions typically involve explosive eruptions as
well as a pyroclastic flow. When the volcano erupted it launched tonnes of molten ash and pumice into
the atmosphere which then fell on the towns burying them and the people inside them under about five
metres of ash. The pyroclastic flow itself only reached the town of Herculaneum and not Pompeii.

apartments which she rented out to families who may have lost their homes and therefore gives us
insight into the lives of many different families that lived there. The paintings on the walls of the villa
such as the one to the left, show us daily life in Pompeii, schools, markets, even more information
about what it might have been like in Pompeii back then.
The way the people in Pompeii decorated and made their houses tells us a lot about the kind of people
they were and the lives they lead. Wall paintings such as the one to the left, as well as mosaics
preserved by the ash show us mostly mythological scenes but even these show us certain elements of
life in Pompeii and Herculaneum such as furniture, clothing, food and leisure activities even if the
figure in question was a god or goddess. As both Pompeii and Herculaneum were a part of the Roman
Empire we can conclude that the style of houses and decorations would be similar throughout the
entire Roman Empire.

An Oral Interview With Vanna Moore Essay
Reflection Paper
On September of 2016, I did an oral interview with Vanna Moore about her military past and Vanna s
ties to Texas. Over the whole interview, I asked her questions about her experience in Afghanistan and
how it shaped her views of her state of Texas. Through her interview, Vanna touched on her feelings
about Texas, the military, American culture, and life after military. At times, she seemed comfortable
and at ease sharing her thoughts, and other moments seemed more difficult to get through. This
interview helped me to understand that military service can really shape a person s world view, both
abroad and at home. Additionally, after this oral interview experience I feel like I know how to
effectively use oral histories in my future classrooms. During the beginning of the interview I asked
Vanna What do you think the difference is between West Texas and other regions of the state? At first,
her answers consisted of a lot of umms , but after she got more comfortable, she said, So, it s kinda
like our own little world. ... The people are like, are more like small town people, they re...more like
hospitable. Vanna described West Texans as hospitable and having small town behavior. The small
town mindset, that Vanna referred to is what Hollywood has portrayed time after time. Also, in the
same response she said Well, obviously, we re nothing but oil field, mesquite trees and it s dry, and

Solar Energy Pros And Cons
This research will discuss solar energy in three points which are what solar energy is, solar power
systems for houses and how the humans benefited from it. Solar energy is the light and heat which are
coming from the sun, and a human create them for his benefits since ancient time ago. Also, solar
energy is the important kind of green energy. Moreover, humans have used them by using a range of
modern technology that is constantly evolving. It includes harnessing solar energy technologies using
thermal energy of the sun either directly heated or within converting mechanical movement or electric
power, or to generate electricity through phenomena Photovoltaic (PV) using the panels of
photovoltaic cells effort. In addition, a human has used solar energy architectural designs that rely on
the exploitation of solar energy process, solar energy is a sustainable energy and is not implemented
also it is a natural source of energy, and can be used to generate other forms of energy. As well, the
great contribution is that solar energy will assure the other energy unsustainable sources such as oil
and natural gas. According to Dickon and Matt Coal, natural gas, and nuclear power, which today
supply two thirds or more of global power, are not about to disappear. But even at its currently low
rates of market penetration, solar power has begun to shift the economics of electricity. This is the

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Leader Election
2.3.1 Introduction
Leader election is a primary problem in distributed systems where it is important to coordinate
processes group communications and activities. The leader is responsible for controlling and
coordinating all communications between processes in the network, absence of the leader makes the
overall system inconsistent, and loses the system reliability. To keep the system consistent, it is
necessary to nominate another leader, the LEA solves this problem by deciding which process will be
the new leader, and making it well known to other processes [(Akbar, et al., 2006), (Refai, 2010)].

Each node in the system has a state variable indicates its state value, when the process is in ordinary
operation and the leader is active in the system, then state variable contains the normal value.
Candidate state denotes that the leader is failed and the system is in the leader election process, leader
state is obtained by only one process when the election process terminates. Moreover, every node in
the system possess a local variable lead, which indicates the current leader of the system [(Yadav, et
al., 2012), (Gajre, 2013), (Lynch, et al., 2012), (Stroller, 1997)].
It is necessary that, all processes have the same LEA. As well, any LEA must satisfy the following
properties[(Murshed and Allen, 2012), (Stroller, 1997)]:
(a) Safety: The nodes in the system never disagree on the elected leader. All the nodes must recognize
the same node as a leader, after the termination of the election process, at most one node will be
elected as a leader, and all other nodes must have the same lead variable value.
In other words, for all nodes i and j in the system, if statei = normal and statej = normal, then leadi =

Analysis Of George Bailey s It s A Wonderful Life
George Bailey is the main protagonist in the film It s a Wonderful Life. Throughout the movie, we see
how George s actions have affected the town of Bedford Falls. So when George Bailey wishes that he
had never been born, it causes many problems with the fate of the characters in Bedford Falls. George
Bailey feels as if his life is worthless and he unwisely concludes that he is worth more dead than alive,
but little does George know, his life has touched more people than he thinks. By existing and doing
what he thinks is right, George Bailey has affected the outcome of the Building and Loan, Mary
Hatch, his brother Harry, and Mr. Gower s career, all the while keeping Mr. Potter from completely
taking over Bedford Falls. If George Bailey had never been born, the Bailey Bros. Building and Loan
would be completely different. After George s father died, the Building and Loan would be handed
over to Mr. Potter who would dissolve the company and any houses the company created would fall
under his jurisdiction. Because the Building and Loan closed, Uncle Billy is institutionalized at a
mental institution. Bailey Park was never built as well. Because of that, all families that would have
lived there, never got the chance to move to these affordable houses. They instead would be stuck in
those shacks that Mr. Potter calls houses. Ernie the taxi driver never moves into Bailey Park. He stays

A sustain power grid is what separates a solvent nation from a third world country. The scenario of one of the three power grids failing would cause chaos to that area but would be sustainable with the capabilities of the remaining grid systems (ESSP 2015). A major sustain loss of power grid across the United States would interrupt commerce of the food chain via manufacturing and delivery of product, water systems, federal, state and local line of communications which would paralyze law enforcement, civil unrest would spread across the nation. The responsibility lies directly on the shoulders of federal government entities and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Since, they are controlled by remote means this makes the power grids susceptible to outside influence. The federal and private sectors through safeguards within their departments are providing critical infrastructure resilient, and security, which strengthens and maintains the power grids. Pertaining to the power grid with the connected bodies of the federal government and private sector the widespread accessibility via cyber space automated systems of power plants, distribution systems in its self could be problematic...i.e. could contribute to incapacitating large areas of power grids system via cyber attacks. Possible consideration would be to isolate communications from standard cyber space via secured lines (buzzle.com 2016). Less debilitating to grid system are attacks as in one on one sabotage on individual power plants or remote distribution and substations that would interrupt local areas. Assuming power plants have adequate security on site will effectively reduce power plant attacks. In regards to distribution and substations in suburban or rural areas all one has to do would be to take a drive through the countryside or down a neighborhood to understand these are soft targets protect only by a chain link fence. Here in the United States the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Federal White Collar Crime Center (NW3C) partnered and established the IC3, which is the Internet Crime Complaint Center. This is a central place where Internet crimes can be reported and then those crimes will be investigated and transferred to the appropriate law enforcement agencies as well as appropriate regulatory agencies. 1. The Internet crimes can often overlap between fraud and other crimes. Because of these overlapping crimes it is important the there is communication and cooperation between our own agencies and international agencies. 2. Discuss the level of cooperation between our law enforcement agencies and international agencies and the problems they face. B. The overwhelming amount of Internet fraud and crimes on individuals, small business, financial institutions can be overwhelming for law enforcement because of the lack of fully trained, qualified investigators. Basically we have more crime that we have laws and law enforcement officials can handle. 1. We must have sufficient laws against these particular crimes. • 4. Musical Analysis Of Fantasia is the animated musical sequel to its originator in 1940, Fantasia. It was released in December of 1999 and was produced by Walt Disney Feature Animation and Walt Disney Pictures. Walt Disney s brother, Roy E. Disney was the helm of producing it and so was Donald W. Ernst, who co produced it. The movie includes many celebrities that introduced the live action parts with the classical music counterpart. It took many, many years to get the approval to make the sequel and it did really well in the box office. But the more important part from this movie is the music behind it, the music really goes along with all seven of the segments shown and they all have an art style behind it. The orchestra behind the film was performed by Chicago Symphony Orchestra and was conducted by James Levine. The movie contains seven segments and has an important musical piece behind it, which they are written by somebody significant in the classical music world. Fantasia 2000 opens with the most famous concert music of all, Beethoven s Symphony No. 5 in C minor. Following the first film in 1940, this first segment follows abstract images that form the ideas of the heavens, butterflies, bats, and darkness. The second sequence is Pines of Rome by Ottorino Respighi, which follows the journey of humpback whale calf as it learns to fly (only because of a supernova). The whale is separated from its parents, but manages to reunite with the entire school, that ends up coming through the fluffy clouds ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Isis Are A Bunch Of Muslims Just Because If you think ISIS are a bunch of Muslims just because they claim to be Muslims and have a load of gibberish written on their flags then you are being fooled. And maybe you ll live in that misconception forever. And I don t blame you. Anyone would think ISIS are Muslim by what you are shown and are driven to see by the media. At first, even I thought for a moment that ISIS are Muslims. The fact that they walk down the streets with their pride, holding flags with Allah printed on. And when they deliver their speech on those pathetic leaked videos stating Allah commands them to do this. We should give them a round of applause for the characters they play. First, of all, let me start off by telling you some of the facts that you might be familiar with. A number of journalist from over Syria have reported that more Muslims are being killed by these so called Muslims . In countries like Syria and Iraq, not only Muslims are suffering, but also non religious people. So why is it that they are killing their own people if they claim to be people of Allah? According to a report released by the United Nations, approximately 9,347 civilians in Iraq in the first eight months of 2014 were killed by this group of terrorists. Furthermore, as we all know about the Paris attack and as the death of 130 people was confirmed according to CNN (Cable News Network) with hundreds being injured, even then it was confirmed that far more Muslims were killed than any other ethnicity group. ... • 6. Example Of Natural Disasters Natural disasters throughout the world are very frightening although there might be reasons to look at them in a different perspective? How you may ask, seeing homes and hundreds of people panic for their lives is all a natural reaction because we don t know what to do for the most part. However there are other ways into viewing these disasters not only as that nature stops by a decides to struck a certain place on earth but, that we have a partial responsibility in these disasters. We all influence how earth s environments work and how we treat it eventually builds up and causes natural disasters. For the most part literature can give you a whole different perspective on natural disasters. In the book Black Nature Four Centuries of African American Nature Poetry by Camille T. Dungy she gives many examples of natural disasters in cycle six. Take one of the poems named Earthquake Blues by Ishmael Reed talks about an one of the most devastating disasters an earthquake. It s a short poem as well as a story. How an earthquake was felt by animals before it struck, then it gets into details how the earthquakes took the life of a little child in a nursery. However the most significant line in the story was Mr. Earthquake Mr. Earthquake you don t know good from bad which made so much sense to me. A natural disaster hits when it hits it doesn t know if it s causing something good or bad. Some disaster happen where a few people can be hurt and others occur where many lives are at ... • 7. Summary Of Martin Luther s Letter To The Archbishop The letter written by Martin Luther to the Archbishop of Mainz stated simply, clarifies why indulgences should not be sold. Martin Luther implores with the Archbishop to have pity on him for being so opinionated to a person so holy and significant, as ordinarily he would not dare, but he must tell the Archbishop his thoughts. To be specific, his long time disagreement with the selling of indulgences, but he can stand it no longer. The Archbishop is warned that St Peter s is selling the indulgences under his name. The letter then explains that the obtaining of these indulgences causes the people to believe that they and their loved ones are saved from Purgatory. The Archbishop is reminded by Luther that all people must work out their salvation themselves. Moreover, indulgences are taught in church, yet devotion and love are seldom preached, despite being much more important. What was significant was that the people should learn the bible and the grace of God, as indulgences were never mentioned in the bible. Luther then pleads that he himself is helpless to do anything to aid this problem, but the Archbishop can, if he so chooses. I believe Martin Luther wrote this letter out of desperation. Out of his eyes, the church was not following God s lead. This must have terrified him, and made him feel like he had to do something. Luther obviously cared very much about the church, so when he thought the church was not following the bible, it must have sent him into a panic. To Luther, the selling and purchasing of indulgencies was nothing but a scam for the church to make money. Due to the letter and Luther s 95 Theses, Martin Luther was excommunicated. Consequently, Luther and his supporters reformed the church. This reformation caused many people to lessen their support on the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 9. Cubicles Are Not Appropriate For Modern Offices Cubicles are not appropriate for modern offices. Instant and easy communication is built on teams working efficiently together. This necessitates an open work space environment. Currently cubicles prevent employees from communication. It is not hard to see that employees just call each other on phone every day. They even only know each other by sound rather than see each other ever. Open work space is needed now to boost the collaboration and provide more value to the satisfaction of the employees. Let us picture the open workspace. Instead of building costly concrete buildings, we will recreate the office environment. We will eliminate cubicles and set up open space for the employees. Employees would be able to work on a set of tasks together. For example, programmers in the company, most of the time, are in charge of only a small part of the whole project. If they cannot communicate well, it always doubles the time and the cost. In this respect, these key features make a good open space:  More whiteboard, comfortable bean sofa, multiple cafeterias, other places to read and work. Employees can move their desk and chairs rather than stay in the confined offices all day.  More areas that hold more than one person to encourage communication.  Purpose free generic thinking areas in open plan spaces, which encourage workers to do their thinking in the presence of other people, rather than alone.  To protect privacy, private offices and meeting rooms will also be ... In order for a chemical reaction to occur it must have a great amount of energy and the particles in a chemical reaction must collide frequently. There are a variety of factors which can affect the rate of a reaction, these include temperature, surface area, concertation, agitation and a catalyst. One of the factors that we have investigated above includes the measurement of the surface area between three Aspirin tablets. Due to said feud, they end up dying for each other in the end, ultimately ending the aforementioned feud. So what truly caused their deaths? After all, Shakespeare wrote his play to be strongly implicative of fate being the culprit; from the beginning, he notes the couple to be a pair of star crossed lovers (The Prologue. Line 6.), doomed to die because it was their destiny to do so. If these two met, it was writ in the stars they d also meet death. So was fate at fault here? If it were, it d definitely make the story more emphatic. Fate is perceived as unchanging, final. It is definite, and people love circumstances where the odds are stacked against characters. Viewers and readers are likelier to pity the young couple, to become more emotionally inclined to the storyline. In other words, fate would make it more romantic romantic as in suggestive of an idealized reality. In the play, there s certainly a strong element of coincidence, and coincidence is really just fate dressed up fancy, isn t it? However, there s plenty of room for choice as well. • 29. Us Support And Agendas Within The Middle East US support and agendas within the Middle East have been extremely complicated in the last century. Starting with the backing of the Shah of Iran in the early 1950s to the present day conflict in Syria, there appears to be no decision without adverse secondary and tertiary effects. Since the Persian Gulf War, US policy has been fully supportive of the Arabs and Turks while limiting official support for the Kurds in Turkey, Iraq, and Syria. Nevertheless, unofficially, the US has fully supported the Kurds militarily through the establishment of long term partnerships between military forces. While always a point of contention with Turkey and the Government of Iraq (GOI), the recent increase in support for Kurdish forces in Syria to oppose the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) brought the issue to the forefront. The time for US policy to withhold support for the Kurds is past due to their critical role in the campaign against ISIL. The US attempted to establish a coalition amongst the Turks and the Arabs but this has largely failed to turn the tide of ISIL s advance. However, following the consistent successes of the Kurds advance wresting control of northeastern Syria away from ISIL, it is a foregone conclusion that the US requires an alliance with the Kurds if they wish to establish some semblance of stability in the Middle East. In the end, can the US ethically and morally provide support to the Kurds, ignoring requests from US allies in the region? ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The way the people in Pompeii decorated and made their houses tells us a lot about the kind of people they were and the lives they lead. • 33. An Oral Interview With Vanna Moore Essay Reflection Paper On September of 2016, I did an oral interview with Vanna Moore about her military past and Vanna s ties to Texas. Over the whole interview, I asked her questions about her experience in Afghanistan and how it shaped her views of her state of Texas. Through her interview, Vanna touched on her feelings about Texas, the military, American culture, and life after military. At times, she seemed comfortable and at ease sharing her thoughts, and other moments seemed more difficult to get through. This interview helped me to understand that military service can really shape a person s world view, both abroad and at home. Additionally, after this oral interview experience I feel like I know how to effectively use oral histories in my future classrooms. During the beginning of the interview I asked Vanna What do you think the difference is between West Texas and other regions of the state? At first, her answers consisted of a lot of umms , but after she got more comfortable, she said, So, it s kinda like our own little world. ... The people are like, are more like small town people, they re...more like hospitable. Vanna described West Texans as hospitable and having small town behavior. The small town mindset, that Vanna referred to is what Hollywood has portrayed time after time. Also, in the same response she said Well, obviously, we re nothing but oil field, mesquite trees and it s dry, and you go to East Texas, and there is humidity, and green grass, and ... • 38. Advantages And Disadvantages Of Leader Election 2.3.1 Introduction Leader election is a primary problem in distributed systems where it is important to coordinate processes group communications and activities. The leader is responsible for controlling and coordinating all communications between processes in the network, absence of the leader makes the overall system inconsistent, and loses the system reliability. To keep the system consistent, it is necessary to nominate another leader, the LEA solves this problem by deciding which process will be the new leader, and making it well known to other processes [(Akbar, et al., 2006), (Refai, 2010)]. 2.3.2 Fundamentals of Leader Election Leader election algorithm is a program that is embedded in each node of the distributed system, any node that ... Each node in the system has a state variable indicates its state value, when the process is in ordinary operation and the leader is active in the system, then state variable contains the normal value. Candidate state denotes that the leader is failed and the system is in the leader election process, leader state is obtained by only one process when the election process terminates. Moreover, every node in the system possess a local variable lead, which indicates the current leader of the system [(Yadav, et al., 2012), (Gajre, 2013), (Lynch, et al., 2012), (Stroller, 1997)]. It is necessary that, all processes have the same LEA. As well, any LEA must satisfy the following properties[(Murshed and Allen, 2012), (Stroller, 1997)]: (a) Safety: The nodes in the system never disagree on the elected leader. All the nodes must recognize the same node as a leader, after the termination of the election process, at most one node will be elected as a leader, and all other nodes must have the same lead variable value. In other words, for all nodes i and j in the system, if statei = normal and statej = normal, then leadi = ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
