Odyssey Research Paper
Before the Odyssey is explained, there is much historical information about Ancient Greece to
cover. To begin, the time period that Odyssey is a part of is known as Homeric society. Homeric
society is a concoction of diverging assortments in various points in history. Because the setting is
a combination of different times from several coteries, the story includes many ideas and values
particular to each one. In the 8th century BC, the Mediterranean saw a growth in population after
the dark age, thus leading to the menagerie that the Ancient Greeks partook in. Moving forward,
there is much evidence that suggests that epics were created between 750 and 650 B.C.E. These
stories were set in Mycenaean Greece around the 12th century B.C.E, also known as the Bronze
Age.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In order to elicit this pristine age, the Iliad and Odyssey were written in such a style that describes
the lifestyle of those in the great kingdom of the Bronze Age. The Greeks are more often called
Achaeans which is was the name of a tribe that lived in Greece during the Bronze Age (SparkNotes
Editors 3). Moving on, in Ancient Greece, myriads of sacrifices and games were enacted in honor
of their gods and goddesses ( Gods and Festivals 1). Multitudes of competition a pivotal
component in Greece s history also involved music, dramas and athletics( Gods and Festivals 1).
For example, The Olympic Games is Ancient Greece s most well known event. They held The
Olympic Games in honor of the supreme God Zeus. In fact, about half of the year in Athens was
dedicated with sacrificial offerings and festivals to their Gods and Goddesses ( Gods and Festivals

themselves and honoring their gods. Just like today, music was an important part of their daily

Trivium Model Essay
Modern education has, over time, taken the focus off of learning how to learn and has decided to
focus on telling the students what they should learn. They are not given any tools to learn for
themselves. The modern school classroom has a teacher stand in front of a crowded classroom
and he/she tells the students information. They are given very little room to ask question and find
answers. Without the proper foundation of information the children are less likely to remember
what is being taught and worse they are unable to find out more information because they have not
been given the tools to dig deep into subjects. They are expected to give back these fragments of
information in order to prove the teacher did their job. They are not asked to assess the validity of
the information they are given and question whether or not it... Show more content on

I know from personal experience that without the proper foundation of information and discipline,
trying to figure out how to learn something becomes very difficult. In the classical education model,
the students are taught within a structure of the Trivium. The trivium consists of three levels of
learning, the grammar stage, the dialectical stage and the rhetorical stage. Each one of these stages
builds upon the previous one. The grammar stage introduces children to broad topics and
information. This is the stage where they are creating memory files or pegs. The students are able
to recite this information when asked, because they have committed it to memory. The grammar
stage leads in to the dialectical stage. This is where the children begin to understand information.
They are taught the discipline of how to find information they can use to add to their original
memory pegs. Here they are also taught how to logically decipher the truth value of the work they
are getting their research from. This stage will help build the wall of information upon their
grammatical foundation.

Antonio Lucio Vivaldi Inspiration
The renowned baroque composer, Antonio Lucio Vivaldi, was born on the 4th of March, 1678, in
Venice, Italy to Giovanni Battista Vivaldi and Camilla Calicchio. During childhood, he found
himself surrounded by his five siblings, Margarita Gabriela, Cecilia Maria, Bonaventura Tomaso,
Zanetta Anna, and Francesco Gaetano Giovanni Battista. Francesco, like Vivaldi, would find
music to be his calling. He would later teach a young Vivaldi the art of the violin. Vivaldi s
younger years were hard for him; he suffered from strettezza di petto, tightness of the chest; in
other words, he had asthma. His asthma would prevent him from playing any wind instruments for
the rest of his life. When Vivaldi became a young adult, he pursued priesthood, finally being
ordained in 1703 when he was 25.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

works at the orphanage; over sixty religious vocal pieces, multiple sonatas and cantatas, and an
absolute multitude of concertos. He was appointed maestro de concerti (music director) in 1716,
after having been voted out of the position of maestro di coro (choirmaster) a year earlier due to
not matching standards. Of course, matching said standards was extraordinarily difficult as he had
to compose an entire concerto by every evening meal, a tall order for even the most prolific of

Big Moments
In life there will be good and bad moments, but those moments are what shapes us. Not only does
it shape up, but when we grow old you feel like your life has been good. When you are young
you can steer away from conversation. No one is permanent on this earth, so make as many
memories as possible. Memories don t necessarily have to relate to big moments. They can be small
moments.
I will never forget the time, over spring break of 2017 my family and i had gone to the wineries. I
was so focused on my phone, but something told me to just look up and i did. In that moment of
looking around i realized i had so many generations at one table. The interactions between the
different generations. The love that was being spread, it made me wonder how much i have been
missing out on. Once you get the luxury of a phone and social media, you can become addicted to
it. They may think it was just a birthday, but it was memories and bonds that were being created.

As for me i didn t really grow up on technology i didn t get a real phone until i was 14, which i
think is still pretty young. At events like brunch with my families you see that when you hit a

headphones glued into your ears. As for younger kids who don t care much about technology the
are more willing to talk a socialize with the older generations even with their limited vocabulary.
At events you tend to see different age groups stay with their age groups. As someone who is
considered part of the technology era, it feels as if there is a lot of pressure and stereotypes of
being glued to there phone. You may feel that i m directing this at the younger generation, but i m

Comparing Wollstonecraft And Barbauld
Women s Rights in the Eyes of Wollstonecraft and Barbauld
I call with the firm tone of humanity; for my arguments, Sir, are dictated by a disinterested spirit
I plead for my sex not for myself (Wollstonecraft 2). Vindication of the Rights of Woman by Mary
Wollstonecraft and Rights of Woman by Anna Barbauld are two works that discuss the idea of
women s rights. In many ways, the two works greatly relate to one another and the authors seem to
believe in the same values, but they find ways that are both alike and different to portray their
message of women s equality.
Mary Wollstonecraft is known for her most popular work written in 1759, the author of A

Wollstonecraft was radical and direct. Much of her text was straightforward and she showed no
regards in holding back her thoughts. In some sense she was sarcastic, and mocked the way
women were looked upon such as when she says My own sex, I hope, will excuse me, if I treat
them like rational creatures, instead of flattering their FASCINATING graces, and viewing them
as if they were in a state of perpetual childhood, unable to stand alone. By emphasizing fascinating
graces, she is mocking the norm expectation of how women were supposed to act during that time
period. On the other hand, in Barbauld s poem, she mentions women s graces to their advantage.
Go, gird thyself with grace; collect thy store Of bright artillery glancing from afar; Soft melting
tones thy thundering cannon s roar, Blushes and fears thy magazine of war. (Barbauld) She
suggests that women should use their lady like qualities men have established upon them to their
advantage, rather than try to fight against it. It is clear that Wollstonecraft believed that women
deserve equality to men and that the only reason they were not as equal was because they were
not given the proper tools to be so (such as education). In her work, she does not try to take the
approach that women are better than men or

The Bean Trees by Barbara Kingsolver
Birds are a personal symbol for Turtle s development. Throughout the novel, birds are tied to
Turtle and major events in her life. Turtle makes her first sound when the car stops suddenly to
avoid a family of quail. I slammed on the brakes and we all pitched forward... I think that sound
was a laugh ...In the road up ahead there was a quail, the type that has one big feather spronging
out the front of its head like a forties model ladies hat. We could just make out that she was
dithering back and forth in the road, and then we gradually could see that there were a couple
dozen babies running around her every which way (Kingsolver 106 107). Turtle and Taylor have
become comfortable as a family and Turtle has recovered from her previous trauma to the point
that she makes audible noises and expresses herself. Just as the family of Taylor and Turtle has
brought joy to the lives of Lou Ann, Mattie, Esperanza and Estevan, this disruptive family of birds
bring joy and laughter to Taylor and Turtle. When Taylor takes Turtle to the doctor and learns the
extent of Turtle s abuse, she sees a birdthat has made its nest inside a cactus. I looked through the
bones to the garden on the other side. There was a cactus with bushy arms and a coat of yellow
spines as thick as fur. A bird had built her nest in it. In and out she flew among the horrible spiny
branches, never once hesitating. You just couldn t imagine how she d made a home in there
(Kingsolver 137 138). Just as the bird has

Nosocomial infections (NI) are acquired in hospitals and other healthcare facility. It is suspected, if
the patient had another infection other than the infection, he/she was admitted for; and had shown
no signs of active or incubating symptoms (Graham, 2016) of present infection. NI is said to occur,
if the Infection occurred 48 hours after hospital admission, 3 days after discharge, or 30 days after
an operation or surgery procedure. Nowadays, NI is labelled the leading cause of death in
hospitals. As it continue to raise headlines as the main cause of most deaths occurring in the

In some cases, patients develop infections due to poor conditions at a hospital and healthcare
facility, or due to hospital staff not following proper standard procedures, such as improper hand
washing before and after patient care, lack of proper clinical wound cleaning and perineal care.
Proper sanitation and other proper healthcare hygiene procedures omitted during patient care. Some
patients also acquire NI by interacting with other patients , which may result from sharing of
personal belongings, and body contact. Others may encounter bacteria, fungi, parasites, or viruses
in their hospital environment (Graham, 2016). A research on Human metapneumovirus (hMPV)
recently discovered virus and a member of the subfamily Pneumovirinae, as the major cause of
hospitalization of infants suffering from respiratory tract infection (French et al., 2016). It can
manifest as flu like symptoms, and later dispose into shortness of breath with nasal congestions. It s
likely to be transmitted via direct contact and droplet.
Symptoms of NI
Symptoms of NI vary by type. They include inflammation, discharge, fever, and abscesses. Patients
may experience pain and irritation at the infection site, and many experience visible symptoms.
Many forms of NI can be diagnosed through sight alone. Pus, inflammation, and rashes may all be
indications of infection. Blood and urine culture tests (Diekema et al., 2003) can be used to

How Muscles Vary In Size And Shape
Muscles vary in size and shape for particular reasons, first of all that variation of shapes and sizes
truly facilitate different movements in our body and provide different amounts of endurance and
strength. To give an example, our mouth serves an important role in our body, it lets food/water
inside and also maintains unnecessary guests on the outside by closing, without such muscles like
those in the mouth being in a circular shape they wouldn t be able to contract as efficiently to close
and open the mouth opening. Muscles are shaped based on the movement/role by which they are
meant to produce, shape goes hand in hand with function. In the human body there are 5 types of
different muscleshapes, each allowing for particular movement to occur. The 5 types of muscle
shapes are parallel, circular, convergent, fusiform, pennate.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

For the most part parallel muscles are long and tend to produce large movements, while they are not
that strong they have a good amount of endurance. This particular type of muscle is the most
abundant in the human body, some examples of parallel muscles include the Sartorius, which is
perhaps one of the most well known in this category and my personal favorite the
sternocleidomastoid.
Circular muscles also as their name suggests have a circular shape they are also known as sphincter
muscles, they usually surround openings in the body and produce movement that close such
openings among contraction. Most common examples of circular muscles are the muscles that
surround the mouth and orbicularis oculi (surround the eyes).
Convergent muscles have origins that are wider than the point of insertion, the particular way its
muscle fibers are arranged allow the muscle to produce high levels of force production. One of the
most well know of such muscles include the pectoralis major, the

Importance Of Management And Leadership Within Public Health
IMPORTANCE OF MANAGEMENT AND LEADERSHIP WITHIN PUBLIC HEALTH
INTRODUCTION
This essay explains the meaning of management and leadership, emphasizing on the various
theories, models and styles of these concepts. Management and leadership skills are also outlined.
These are then related to public health and analyzed to suggest what is most suitable and can be
applied in the public health setting.
MANAGENENT AND LEADERSHIP
The concepts of leadership and management are often viewed in different ways with different
theories and schools of thought regarding the meaning of these terms (Gold, Thorpe and Mumford,
2010). Management and leadership can be defined individually and encompass different roles and
attributes, however, both management and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Whatever the outcome at the end of the day, it is the manager who is responsible. This means that
rather than forces or facts, it is people that manage; and the perception, commitment and
accountability of managers are the determining factors of success of failure when it comes to
management. Therefore, it can be deduced that managers act or execute plans but it is management
that determines if goals are going to be achieved or not by bringing people and tasks together
(Drucker, 2012). Management is what holds an institution together and makes it work (Drucker,
2012).
Likewise, leadership is multi faceted and can apply to many different situations (Stanfield,
2009). E sa (2012) described leadership as getting people to perform tasks in order to achieve
certain aims. Stanfield argues that leadership is largely based on experience and does not
necessarily depend on the number of followers and that to be able to lead effectively; one must
also be able to follow. This is supported by Adeniyi (2010) who adds that there are many forms of
leadership and leaders possess different traits and temperaments. Stanfield states that factors such as
moral standards and integrity play a role in effective leadership. Leaders are often said to
charismatic and possessing the skill that enables them to draw others to their visions or ideas.
Although seen as a good quality, he points out that charisma can be either constructive or
destructive, depending on how it is channeled

Persuasive Essay On Hurricane Harvey
As our city grieves in the wake of Hurricane Harvey, a category four hurricane that hit Houston as
a tropical storm, our nation is left battling economic and social concerns that will impact the future
of both Texas and America as a whole. As many areas of Houston are transitioning from relief to
rebuilding, our politicians and local leaders need to take hard look at the best path moving forward.
Despite tensions between Texan politicians and the national government, it is to our benefit that we
turn to federal funding to provide for our people. Though we are Houston Strong and were able to
act quickly in helping our neighbors immediately following the devastation, it is imperative that we
work cohesively with the national government to make Texasstronger for the long run. As we
begin moving forward we need to ask ourselves, Do we want to rebuild sooner or better?
As we re trying to move from relief to recovery and rebuilding, it s nearly imperative that we look
back to unveil why this widespread flooding occurred in the first place. If we trace back to the
research of engineers in the 1990 s, it was recorded that the reservoir system was inadequate and
endangered thousands of lives and properties (Thompson). Arthur Storey, Harris County s Flood
Director in 1996, coins the wreckage that lies before us as a massive governmental and engineering
failure (Thompson). Research suggests that we foresaw the potential damage, yet failed to invest in
modern development

Assessing Secular Temperature Trends Of Hawai Д ЕҐ I
Assessing Secular Temperature Trends in HawaiК»i

(Draft) MA Thesis Proposal
By
Marie Maile McKenzie
Department of Geography
University of HawaiК»i at MДЃnoa
Abstract Large scale, global temperature analyses and climate change models may sometimes
oversimplify or generalize smaller, regional trends. Only until a few years ago, efforts on climate
change projections for island scale has intensified for more reliable assessments of various
impacts of long term climate trends (Hamilton, 2014). Temperature changes over HawaiК»i are
expected to exceed the current daily maximum values by the end of the 21st century (Lauer et
al., 2013). Mountainous tropical islands in the Hawaiian archipelago are showing greater
warming than the lower elevations (Giambelluca et al. 2008; Diaz et al. 2011, 2014). Observed
surface air temperature trends can also be used to test regionally downscaled climate models.
The goal of this thesis is to analyze climate data to assess possible trends that are likely to impact
future management of summit ecosystems. This research is essential to the effective protection
and restoration of these fragile alpine and subalpine ecosystems. The primary focus of this
research is to expand on and update the previous analysis by Giambelluca et al. (2008) by
extending the data set from 2006 through to 2014 15 in order to: (a) develop a revised HawaiК»i
Temperature Index to include the more recent data; (b) assess changes that occurred in the

Alabama V. Jaffree ( 1985 )
Wallace, Governor of Alabama v. Jaffree (1985): Central Question: Does the Alabama statute 16
1 20.1, allowing a period of silence for meditation or voluntary prayer violate the First
Amendment Establishment Clause that is applied to the states by the Fourteenth Amendment?
Facts of the Case: The case of Wallace v. Jaffree calls into question the constitutionality of an
Alabama statute that authorized teachers to lead a one minute period of silence for meditation
or voluntary prayer in all public schools. Ishmael Jaffree, the parent of three students in the
Mobile County Public School system filed a complaint that two of his three children had been
subjected to various acts of religious indoctrination, as a result of Alabama statute 16 1 20.1 and
asked for an injunction prohibiting Mobile County schools from maintaining or allowing the
maintenance of regular religious prayer services. The purpose of Jaffree s complaint was to
prohibit the devotional services occurring in his children s school and the consequent mockery
of his children that occurred when they refused to recite the prayers to Almighty God (Stevens,
40). This type of law in Alabama public schools was not the first of its kind. Prior to statute 6 11
20.1, Alabama passed law 16 1 20 authorizing one minute of silence in public schools for
meditation. After the authorization of statute 16 1 20.1 came 16 1 20.2, which allowed teachers to
lead willing students in a prayer (Stevens, 40). Opinion of the

The Reasons Of Non Compliance
IV.The reasons of non compliance
Due to the fact, the board dismissed Steven Sewell from CEO because his characteristics are not
suitable with the characteristics of new board. This reason is very subjective and unreasonable.
This paper would not examine the unreasonable reason from the board of FDC as above, but will
observe the fact that the removal of a director by the board is not the first time happened. There are
some previous cases which are similar to the FDC case in which directors were dismissed by the
board, such as in the case of Allied Mining Processing Ltd v Boldbow Pty Ltd ( Allied v Boldbow
), Central Exchange Ltd v Rivkin Financial Services Ltd ( Central v Rivkin ), and Scottish Colonial
Ltd v Australian Power Gas Co Ltd ( Scottish v Australian Power ). In those three cases, the
decision by the judges is considerably different. In Allied v Boldbow and Central v Rivkin, the
judges state that Section 203D does not replace any other power of removal possessed by the
company. Therefore, a company could regulate in their constitution to dismiss a director without
the need for a vote of shareholders (in defined circumstances). Conversely, in Scottish v Australian
Power, the judges emphasise that Section 203D is mandatory, and therefore, the process of
removal a director must follow Section 203D. Due to those cases, it is clear that there are pro and
contra about the dismissal of a director as stipulated in the Section 203D. One side argues that

The Humanity Of Frankenstein In Mary Shelley s Frankenstein
For as long as man has encompassed this world, the divisive enigma of humanity has prevailed.
Seeping its way into each generation, while sparking heated conversations, it has become evident
that there is much we do not know about what truly makes us human. Regardless of our genetic
composition, philosophers often ponder the deeper meaning of humanity. We know that,
biologically, recreating the genetic makeup of a human does not yield humanity, so what is the
missing aspect? Humans have the ability to contemplate their own existence in this world.
Awareness of existence. This driving force enables us to analyze situations while placing ourselves
within them. Our involuntary ability to understand the impact of our actions and the affect they
have on others causes us to be inherently human. Our actions evoke strong emotions within us that
allow us to learn through our experiences. We retain the resonated feelings of certain occurrences
and apply them to others in order to deduce outcomes. Often this facet of mankind is taken for
granted, yet we are reminded, through both literature and hypothetical scenarios, of its importance.
Frankenstein, by Mary Shelley, constitutes as one of these profound reminders. Shelley develops a
theoretical story in which the humanity of Frankenstein s monster is questioned. Despite having
the accurate organs and framework of a human, Shelley causes the reader to seek the missing aspect
that is preventing the monster from being human. Likewise,

Specific Heat Lab Report
Have you ever wondered why a fire burns orange, or why a lighter burns blue towards the bottom of
the flame? If we take a quick step back, this is mostly due to a chemical reaction that is known as
the specific heat . This must be achieved (as well as the other two properties that every fire is
required to possess in order to burn) in order for a flameto become present. After this specific heat
is reached, a chemical reaction occurs and turns the fuel source of the fireinto a vapor. The aspects
that are required for a flame to be created are a heat source, some sort of fuel, as well as some
sort of oxidizing agent. The only way that a change in flame color can be observed is by
manipulating the fuel source. After we manipulate the source

Hockey Case Study
The final option for Trevor Linden to present to the NHLPA is to fully reject the league s offer,
which would lead to a lockout for the 2004 2005 season, and possibly dissolve the National
Hockey League. An advantage of this option is that a number of top players would be able to
seek employment elsewhere, and could sign lucrative contracts in the Russian Superleague (now
KHL), the SHL in Sweden, the NL in Switzerland, or leagues in Finland or the Czech Republic.
There are a number of other leagues that players could try to join that pay lower salaries, such as
the AHL and ECHL in North America, and most players would likely pursue one of these options
to keep playing hockey during the lockout. This could increase the global recognition... Show more

Even players who do find places to play will be much less satisfied because of the lesser
competition. Simply put, going from playing in the best league in the world to a lesser league
or not playing at all would be very disappointing for players because of the less exciting games
and reduction or elimination of a primary source of income. Another disadvantage is that fans
would be greatly disappointed with the loss of an entire hockey season. According to a poll
done by nhlcbanews.com, 70% of Americans and 94% of Canadians side with the need for cost
certainty, while only 30% of Americans and 6% of Canadians agree with the NHLPA that the
economic system does not need to be fixed. This implies that most fans believe that the NHLPA
is being too greedy in their negotiations, and therefore a lockout would greatly reduce the
reputation of the players. Interestingly, some players are willing to accept a salary cap and
revenue tied salary, as long as it means they can get on the ice, but the NHLPA claims that it is as
united as ever in taking a stance against salary caps. A final disadvantage is that a lockout would
result in a loss of an opportunity for revenue, and it would kill the

George Washington s Farewell Address Rhetorical Analysis
True friendship is a plant of slow growth, and must undergo and withstand the shocks of adversity,
before it is entitled to the appellation. George Washington. From the multitude of American
documents that have shaped this world to make significant changes in the country, George
Washington s Farewell Address was by far the most influential and deserves the most recognition in
United Stateshistory. It warned about discrimination in politics and the involvement of the
European wars with implicate alliances. In George Washingtons Farewell Address, he used
rhetorical appeals and syntax to express concern for the American citizens with the purpose of

He uses logos to warn his citizens about foreign alliances and political parties while mentioning his
fears of the future. As a very important source of strength and security, cherish public credit. One
method of preserving it is, to use it as sparingly as possible; avoiding occasions of expense by
cultivating peace, but remembering also that timely disbursements to prepare for danger frequently
prevent much greater disbursements to repel it; avoiding likewise the accumulation of debt, not
only by shunning occasions of expense, but by vigorous exertions in time of peace to discharge the
debts... This sentence is conveying that we should prevent the danger that we re bringing to the
United States to maintain harmony. We can also distinguish the sentence structure Washington
keeps using throughout his entire address. He uses long sentences that maintain a flow within his
speech. The period for a new election of a citizen, to administer the executive government of the

Blackjack Reflection
I was amazed by the movie not only because it revealed the complicated inner conflict of Ben
Campbell, but also because the exciting counting cards method presented throughout the scenes.
The movie describes a boy, Ben Campbell, who is hard working and outstanding in his class.
However, Campbell needed money to apply for Harvard University Medical school. In the
movie, Campbell complained to his friends that he couldn t dazzle the admission officer because
he s done nothing. Ben was a student who crushed exams and showed up early day by day. He
gave up his personal time for fun, which caused his lack of life experience. Though I think life
experience doesn t have to be as crazy as counting card at Vegas, a person at least needs to feel
passion in his life. In the end, Ben dazzled the admission officer and won scholarship for Med
school. His achievement was a result of the lesson he learned from his experience. Ben learned to
value his friendship and family more than money. He was no longer blinded by the wealth and
excitement in the casino. Above all the precious life lessons the movie teaches its audiences about, I
m most attracted to the counting cards method. Therefore, I studied about the method and its
disadvantages.
The method that Ben Campbell and his MIT team used was in fact called the High Low system. In
Blackjack, the banker gives every player two cards one facing upwards while the other facing
downwards. If any person on the table is lucky enough to have a

Pathophysiology Of Coughing
Coughing is a symptom, a body reflex which helps rid the body of foreign materials from the lungs
and upper airway passages. It is not a disease until it is evaluated. With Khristian having a
productive cough with mucus and a high grade temperature, this shows there s is an infection in the
body systematically. A productive cough is often associated with a feeling of chest tightness in the
chest. Vomiting can mean different things; when a child coughs or has a lot of mucus drains in the
stomach, the swelling in the trachea activate the gag reflex which induces vomit.
The pathophysiology alteration that can be associated with this cough could be croup, pneumonia
and influenza. These three diagnoses are the most common diagnosis in children with similarity in
clinical presentation. The pathophysiology of croup explained that when a child has a croup, he
or she wakes up in the middle of the night with a barking cough and shortness of breath (Murray
et al., 2011). It is usually caused by a viral infection known as parainfluenza virus with type 1 3
being the most common type. This virus affect the trachea which results in the inflammation of the
windpipe making is hard to breathe. The narrowing of the windpipe results in a tight and barky
cough sound. Since it is viral infection there is no vaccination against the disease. Clinical ... Show

Number of theoretical workstations:

The line s maximum capacity amounts to 791.67 units per day assuming that it is operated for
7.5 hours. Assuming that X Opoly operates 200 days per year, the capacity is 58,333 units per
year. Compared with the expected demand the capacity is three times higher than the demand
(50,000 units). Therefore there is an overcapacity of more than 100,000. One consequence could
be a falling price and the production of waste. A fall in the price would lead to a decline of the
return on investment as well as the cash flow. That is why it is necessary to use fewer stations in
order to save resources.
In the calculation it can be said that they only 7 stations are needed. With this number of
workstations one could achieve the highest efficiency at this moment. But the company will grow
rapidly. Therefore they had to add new stations every year.

Model Of Atonement
2.The first model of atonement by the Church is the Christus Victor model, or the Satan model.
This model has three figures in it and they are God, Satan, and humanity. There are two versions of
this model. The ransom version and the cosmic battle version. With the ransom version Satan has
control over humanity, and all of their souls. Godhas to offer a ransom in order to free humankinds
souls. God makes the deal of handing over Jesusas a ransom payment to free the souls, and Satan
proceeds to kill Jesus taking it as a victory. Jesus then is resurrected allowing the return to God and
the victory for Christ. The souls of humanity are freed, and Jesus is still alive. It leaves the Satan

This is a model of non violence, shows that atonement does not rely on punishment, and Jesus is
not a weak passive character. The symbols of God, Jesus, Satan, or humanity being taken in a
worldlier view that can provide a direct connection. This is a interpretation to the cosmic battle
where the main characters are metaphorically interpreted. Jesus was not this passive character,
He was an activist trying to make the Kingdom of God visible to humanity. An example is the
Roman Empire. The Roman Empire is Satan. They are a force that has a lot of power and
control, but do not recognize God as the true power of the universe. They are fighting to take
control of the world, and declare themselves kings and gods. They are not being humble and
thanking God, and putting their success in Him. In this case the Church is the representation of
God. The Roman Empire does not recognize the Church as the true power, and try to act without
the Church on their side. Jesus is sent as the embodiment of the Kingdom of God. He is sent to
spread God s message, and show people the light. Jesus is still put to death in this scenario, but it
means something different. Jesus us spreading a message against the Roman Empire, and talking
about a power that is greater than them. They are afraid of what Jesus is saying, and the following

Amissibility of Text Messages in Court
The more technology has been developing, the harder it has been to have privacy. Technology
has been making our lives so much easier yet so much harder. Most people have smart phones
that store all of their conversations through text messages, emails, picture messages, social
media applications and chat messengers. As much as we would like to believe that we are the
only ones that have access to our phones there are ways for police to be able to tap our phone
without our permission. This essay will examine court cases regarding text messages including
the admissibility and inadmissibility of text messages as evidence in court, verification issues
and also how to create fake conversations through text messages. Evidence of text messages are
primarily used by prosecutors to discredit the defendant(s) even though prior discreditable
conduct is generally inadmissible, however, exceptions are made (R v SM, 2012 [8]). In the
case of R v SM, the judge concluded that the text messages are admissible evidence for two
reasons, both on the basis that the messages provided direct evidence to the defendant s
involvement in the crime. Therefore, the exception under the exclusionary rule applies because
the evidence is highly relevant and cogent that its probative value in the search for truth
outweighs any potential for misuse (R v SM, 2012 [6]). An appeal is a system of reviewing a
decision of a previous judge who had misused or misinterpreted the law. After discovering the error

The Mead s Milkweed Family Name Is Asclepiadaceae
The Mead s milkweed family name is Asclepiadaceae (milkweeds). Mead Milkweed is a
nonwoody plant with smooth stem, and has milky sap. This is a short lived annual growth. It
blooms in late May to mid June with one or two clusters that produce roughly five fourteen flowers
per cluster. The flowers are yellow green or creamy green with purple tints. However, the seeds
mature from July until around October. A single plantmay have multiple stems, which is
frequently being mistaken for individual plants. It takes on average fifteen years for it to grow
and develop into a mature adult. After it reaches the adult stage, every stem produces flowers for
two to three years. They can grow to be one or two feet tall.
Habitats include slightly moist to dry tall grass and upland prairies. Soil conditions in these habitats
range from acid and nutrient poor in Missouri. Conservation efforts include delaying haying until
September, periodic burning of prairies, and rotational grazing. In the past, Mead s milkweed was
throughout much of Missouri. It is presently found in the Osage Plains region and the St. Francois
mountains region of the Ozarks.
Adaptations allow the species to change and adjust slowly to the environment for survival. The sap
of most milkweed plants is toxic. This prevents the plants from being eaten. Some insects, however,
can eat milkweeds or sip on the milkweed nectar, which is not toxic to them. Many populations

Myotherapy is a combination of massage and other techniques that relaxes and heals the body in a

Our topic today is on the fact that you can rely on myotherapy for improved blood circulation.
How Myotherapy Increases Blood Flow
As the myotherapist massages the necessary trigger points, the muscles release their tension, and
this in turn relaxes the veins and arteries that transport the blood to and from the heart and other

Through moments of solitary and reverie thinking, Critchley believes that a feeling of existence
will be provided in which time has been subdued. Critchley claims that through this feeling we
are provided with sufficient , complete , and perfect happiness. (449). Opposed to such methods,
Critchley suggests that other pleasures in life can leave emptiness in ones soul that seeks
fulfillment through the process provided from being in solitaire. By dwelling on the past, and
desiring the future, Critchley believes that we aren t living in the moment, and by doing so we are
cutting ourselves short of being truly happy. In order to find moments where we are self content,
Critchley believes that we must break away from daily distractions such as cell phones and car
alarms so that we can reap the benefits of confined thinking. Such thinking, Critchley suggests,
allows for one to be pleasantly lost in their thoughts while forgetting time all together. In doing so,
Critchley claims that we become self sufficient; an ability that he suggests to be God like. Critchley

Meaning Of Blessed Be Meaning
I have seen the expression Blessed Be quite often as a way of greeting and/or a farewell,
indicating that the person saying/writing it wishes good fortune upon the person receiving it. I
have seen this so many times that I thought that was exactly what it meant and even more, it was
the correct way of greeting or saying goodbye to other people But through out my research I have
learnt and understood that Blessed Be has a deeper meaning and it is one that we should be mindful
when using it.
The true purpose of Blessed Be is a sacred one. It has been used in countless religions to grant the
blessings of the deity onto a person, but not in a general or light hearted way. When we use the
term Blessed Be it is meant to be in a very sacred way, we are asking the ... Show more content on

The Beautiful Chain of Islands Called the Bahamas
The Bahamas
The Bahamas is a chain of amazing islands, full of palm trees and beautiful beaches and shores. It
is located in the North Atlantic Ocean. Its neighbors are Florida from the southeast and Cuba from
the northeast.
Strolling on that clear blue water along with some of the Bahamas s 377,544 people, would be an
amazing experience. Just smelling the fresh air would make you forget all your troubles, and relax.
Just a long, flat coral and some low rounded hills all in one place including the breathtaking
beaches. Almost all Bahamians have the same religion. 92% of The Bahamians are Christians.
Some other religions Bahamians have are Baptists, Anglican, Roman Catholic, Methodist, Church
of God, other Protestant. Some Bahamians have no religion and there is a small amount of other
religions. The largest Protestant religious groups are Baptist and Anglican. Obeah is an African
system of belief in spirits that often is superimposed on Christianity. When it comes to religions,
Bahamians take it seriously with their full schedule. Sunday is a day for church going and prayer.
People dress up in their best clothes to attend religious services. Families in the Bahamas could not
be any better, they care for each other and rely on the same religion given by the oldest member of
the family. Middle class Bahamian families usually employ a maid. But families that don t afford a
maid or a household helper share the housework. Although the success of the tourism has improved

The Journey Of Alvar NГєГ±ez Cabeza De Vaca
Throughout the history of Texas, Europeans have influenced Texas history and its findings. From
the beginning, Europeans were the ones that discovered Texas while exploring the Americas. A
Spanish explorer, Cabeza De Vaca, was the first person to ever step foot on Texas soil. He
documented his journey about his findings in Texasand the Americas. The book was called The
Journey of Alvar NГєГ±ez Cabeza de Vaca. When the Spanish came, they spread their diseases to
the defenseless Native Americans that resided in Texas.
A Frenchman named Rene Robert Cavelier Sieur de la Salle explored Texas in 1682.

The first wave of immigration occurred between 1831 to 1869, many European immigrants
especially people from Ireland and Germany. By the time the Civil War came to an end, many
Europeans had immigrated to and populated Texas. In the period of the great migration, thousands
of Europeans immigrated to Texas.
In 1842 to 1878, Germans created an organization for German immigrants to attempt to constitute
New Germany at the borders of Texas, which was called the Adelsverein. It brought approximately
sixty thousand German immigrants to Texas. Affluent Germans created a society, in which they
helped farmers who didn t have enough money to buy farmlands. The Germans formed a German
belt, where they clustered in small communities from Houston and Galveston to Kerrville and into
the Hill Country.
The Germans affected the Texas Revolution quite a bit as well.
Some German immigrants lended a hand to the Texans, helping them with the battles in the Texas
Revolution. They fought at the Battle of San Jacinto, died defending the Alamo, some escaped and
were the survivors of the Goliad Massacre, and one German even signed the Texas Declaration of
Independence. Since many German immigrants had settled here, they passed laws in German
including English as well. The Germans had quite a big impact on

Kesha Symbolism
The release of Kesha s song, Praying signals the liberation of Kesha s musical purgatory after 4
years. Over the past few years, Kesha Rose was bound to an exclusive contract with Dr. Luke
which hasn t allowed her to release or produce any new music. She claimed in a lawsuit that this
contract enabled Dr. Luke to control every aspect of her life. Kesha has accused him of both
verbal and sexual abuse during this contract. As of March 2017, Dr. Luke s role as CEO of his
record company has been expired and Sony, the company that owned Dr. Luke s record label
didn t renew it, and has released Kesha from her contract. Now, Kesha is able to release new
music she writes on her own, all seen on her new album Rainbow which Praying is on. To
develop the underlying message of the song, Kesha uses setting, point of view, and symbolism
throughout her music video. Coming from a sensitive place in her life, Kesha uses setting in her
music video to convey her emotional state. In the music video Kesha starts off in a dark basement
surrounded by people dressed as pigs, whom she... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Solely in the music video Kesha states If I am alive, why? Why? What is the lesson? What is
the point?... God give me a sign or I have to give up. I can t do this anymore (Rose). Kesha s
point of view is in the first person revealing only her thoughts and feelings. She does this by
speaking in the background as an inner monologue, letting the viewer/listener know that she is
only asking herself these questions. Kesha is doing this because it shows how she feels and her
attitude towards not only her life, but the concept of why she should be alive. Kesha s point of
view demonstrates her true colors by revealing her tone through rhetorical questions in the
beginning of her music video that later set a path that reveal what happens next through her song

Research Report On The Boston Police Department
7.Ongoing Research Work Introduction The second part of the research is focused on studying
the emotions and sentiments expressed by people who retweeted the Boston Police Department
(BPD) tweets. The goal of this phase was to observe the sentiment among the users who were
retweeting the BPD tweets. We wanted to observe the impact of BPD tweets on the users before
they retweeted the BPD tweet and after they retweeted. By doing this we wanted to capture the
shift in sentiment among the users, which would give us the impact of BPD tweet. In order to do
the above analysis, the tweets of those users who had retweeted the BPD tweet were collected.
Topsy API was used to collect the historical tweets for the time duration (April 15th 2013 19:50...

The next step was to observe the sentiment among the users, before and after they had retweeted.
We aggregated the before set for all users corresponding to a particular tweet and generated a set
of 145 files. Similarly we generated a set of 145 files for After set as well. Then we used LIWC
to generate the sentiment score for files corresponding to each BPD tweet. Thus for each of the
145 BPD Tweet, we generated sentiment score of before and after , and so we have 290 rows of
data as an output by LIWC. When we request Topsy for 200 retweeters of a particular BPD
Tweet, we got a random sample of 200 retweeters. For some of these users, the retweets were
outside our time interval of consideration. Therefore the number of users considered is not the
same across all BPD tweets, it is always a number less than 200. Therefore we added 2 new
columns for analysis, the number of users considered and the total number of tweets considered.
Later we divided the BPD tweets into two segments 1. Incident related (The tweets by BPD which
spoke about the incident and things related to it) 2. Informational (The tweets by BPD which were
sent out to public about the road being blocked or about parking related etc.). The reason for
dividing into 2 segments was to further observe the difference of impact on users by these tweets,
with the help of sentiment scores generated

first introduces this essay by pointing out that if you ever walk into a mixed race cafeteria you ll
always see that group of black kids sitting together. She brings this point back up many times
throughout the text and explains it. Tatum explains that puberty plays a big role in this she says
that As children enter adolescence they begin to explore questions of identity for instance who

kids unless they were athletes. She points out how back students even fill attacked by their
teachers. For example, she states how a substitute teacher recommended a community college to
a black student and 4 year colleges to other students in the class. Another example is how a black
student was told asked by the teacher to come to the school dance and when she declined the
teacher responded by saying Oh come on I know you people love to dance . The young black girl
felt very offended and told her friend because she needed comforting but her friend who was white
told her don t be sensitive, you know he didn t mean it he s a nice guy. Then Tatum points out how

Power Of Redemption In A Tale Of Two Cities
The French revolution is one of the darkest points in French history as those who had been
wronged rise up against their oppressors. Although this did not change much of french society as
people had hoped for as it is believed that almost 10,000 died in prison or without trial. This was
the same crimes of injustice that the revolutionaries had been criticizing they where now
committing . It is even proven that those imprisoned did not commit the crimes that they were
accused of. While being of royal blood holding the same punishment as the most heinous of
criminals. Through the character of Sydney Carton in the novel A Tale of Two Cities, Dickens
illustrates the power of redemption through sacrifice to reach contentment. Citing how Sydney
Carton an alcoholic lawyer redeems himself by sacrificing himself for Charles Darnay a nobel
who has fallen victim to societies injustice. As the novel progresses we see... Show more content on

During the trial it is revealed that after removing Carton s wig he and Darnay s likeness became
much more remarkable (Dickens 91) this revolation allows Darnay and Carton to become
acquainted. As the story progresses it is revealed that Darnay is everything Carton aspires to be.
This establishes Darnay as Cartons foil while Darney is organized, optimistic and has a carpe
diem attitude about life Carton is disheveled, pessimistic and content with life passing him by.
This is important to the story because it allows not only for Carton to set a goal for himself but
also foreshadows Carton s sacrifice later in the story for someone he believes is a better man.
Over the course of the novel as they become closer friends they start to become more similar. Both
striving to make Lucie happy and protect those around them. Darnay also brings out Cartons full
potential and his own decisions in terms of intellect something he has been struggling for his whole

presence of social media has grown to a relatively large size and its reach continues to grow.

The demographics of the people around the location play a large part in which city the event
will be held in. It would serve no purpose to hold a fashion event in an area where there would be
no desire to view the spectacle. New York City is home to a very active fashion interested
population and thus makes it an ideal location if a company were to seek to attract business via a
fashion show. Relative to other fashion oriented communities New York is fairly out of the way
in terms of distance, but the people attracted to such events are not to be swayed. They are more
willing to go great distances. The models participating in the event are also effected by the cultural
surroundings. The diversity of their appearance is also determined by the cultural standards. These
standards are created, often times, by social media and the social activities taking place. These
things often make certain appearances ideal based on location. People are effected by their cultural

Summary Of Never Cry Wolf By Farley Mowat
In the book Never Cry Wolf , by Farley Mowat. Mowat tells the story of his experiences studying
wolves in the Northern Canadian Arctic as Mowat conducts his research on these wolves, he
discovers that these wolves are different from what he believed at first, not just seeing them as cold
blooded killers, but more different than other wolf packs, as he states that this wolf pack has a
symbiotic relationship with the Caribou population nearby. In this relationship the wolf pack helps
keep the Caribou population strong by only huntingthe sick or weak members of the herd, in this
case only the strong are left alive to strive, and the weak are hunted. Mowat also later says that the
wolves amongst the wolf pack keep peaceful interactions in between

  • 3. Odyssey Research Paper Before the Odyssey is explained, there is much historical information about Ancient Greece to cover. To begin, the time period that Odyssey is a part of is known as Homeric society. Homeric society is a concoction of diverging assortments in various points in history. Because the setting is a combination of different times from several coteries, the story includes many ideas and values particular to each one. In the 8th century BC, the Mediterranean saw a growth in population after the dark age, thus leading to the menagerie that the Ancient Greeks partook in. Moving forward, there is much evidence that suggests that epics were created between 750 and 650 B.C.E. These stories were set in Mycenaean Greece around the 12th century B.C.E, also known as the Bronze Age.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In order to elicit this pristine age, the Iliad and Odyssey were written in such a style that describes the lifestyle of those in the great kingdom of the Bronze Age. The Greeks are more often called Achaeans which is was the name of a tribe that lived in Greece during the Bronze Age (SparkNotes Editors 3). Moving on, in Ancient Greece, myriads of sacrifices and games were enacted in honor of their gods and goddesses ( Gods and Festivals 1). Multitudes of competition a pivotal component in Greece s history also involved music, dramas and athletics( Gods and Festivals 1). For example, The Olympic Games is Ancient Greece s most well known event. They held The Olympic Games in honor of the supreme God Zeus. In fact, about half of the year in Athens was dedicated with sacrificial offerings and festivals to their Gods and Goddesses ( Gods and Festivals 1). During that time period, many Greek people thought music as another way of devoting themselves and honoring their gods. Just like today, music was an important part of their daily routine (Carr ... • 4. Trivium Model Essay Modern education has, over time, taken the focus off of learning how to learn and has decided to focus on telling the students what they should learn. They are not given any tools to learn for themselves. The modern school classroom has a teacher stand in front of a crowded classroom and he/she tells the students information. They are given very little room to ask question and find answers. Without the proper foundation of information the children are less likely to remember what is being taught and worse they are unable to find out more information because they have not been given the tools to dig deep into subjects. They are expected to give back these fragments of information in order to prove the teacher did their job. They are not asked to assess the validity of the information they are given and question whether or not it... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I know from personal experience that without the proper foundation of information and discipline, trying to figure out how to learn something becomes very difficult. In the classical education model, the students are taught within a structure of the Trivium. The trivium consists of three levels of learning, the grammar stage, the dialectical stage and the rhetorical stage. Each one of these stages builds upon the previous one. The grammar stage introduces children to broad topics and information. This is the stage where they are creating memory files or pegs. The students are able to recite this information when asked, because they have committed it to memory. The grammar stage leads in to the dialectical stage. This is where the children begin to understand information. They are taught the discipline of how to find information they can use to add to their original memory pegs. Here they are also taught how to logically decipher the truth value of the work they are getting their research from. This stage will help build the wall of information upon their grammatical foundation. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Antonio Lucio Vivaldi Inspiration The renowned baroque composer, Antonio Lucio Vivaldi, was born on the 4th of March, 1678, in Venice, Italy to Giovanni Battista Vivaldi and Camilla Calicchio. During childhood, he found himself surrounded by his five siblings, Margarita Gabriela, Cecilia Maria, Bonaventura Tomaso, Zanetta Anna, and Francesco Gaetano Giovanni Battista. Francesco, like Vivaldi, would find music to be his calling. He would later teach a young Vivaldi the art of the violin. Vivaldi s younger years were hard for him; he suffered from strettezza di petto, tightness of the chest; in other words, he had asthma. His asthma would prevent him from playing any wind instruments for the rest of his life. When Vivaldi became a young adult, he pursued priesthood, finally being ordained in 1703 when he was 25.... He was appointed maestro de concerti (music director) in 1716, after having been voted out of the position of maestro di coro (choirmaster) a year earlier due to not matching standards. Of course, matching said standards was extraordinarily difficult as he had to compose an entire concerto by every evening meal, a tall order for even the most prolific of ... When you are young you can steer away from conversation. No one is permanent on this earth, so make as many memories as possible. Memories don t necessarily have to relate to big moments. They can be small moments. I will never forget the time, over spring break of 2017 my family and i had gone to the wineries. I was so focused on my phone, but something told me to just look up and i did. In that moment of looking around i realized i had so many generations at one table. The interactions between the different generations. The love that was being spread, it made me wonder how much i have been missing out on. • 8. Comparing Wollstonecraft And Barbauld Women s Rights in the Eyes of Wollstonecraft and Barbauld I call with the firm tone of humanity; for my arguments, Sir, are dictated by a disinterested spirit I plead for my sex not for myself (Wollstonecraft 2). Vindication of the Rights of Woman by Mary Wollstonecraft and Rights of Woman by Anna Barbauld are two works that discuss the idea of women s rights. In many ways, the two works greatly relate to one another and the authors seem to believe in the same values, but they find ways that are both alike and different to portray their message of women s equality. Mary Wollstonecraft is known for her most popular work written in 1759, the author of A Vindication of the Rights of Woman. This piece was known as one of the first feminist ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Wollstonecraft was radical and direct. Much of her text was straightforward and she showed no regards in holding back her thoughts. In some sense she was sarcastic, and mocked the way women were looked upon such as when she says My own sex, I hope, will excuse me, if I treat them like rational creatures, instead of flattering their FASCINATING graces, and viewing them as if they were in a state of perpetual childhood, unable to stand alone. By emphasizing fascinating graces, she is mocking the norm expectation of how women were supposed to act during that time period. On the other hand, in Barbauld s poem, she mentions women s graces to their advantage. Go, gird thyself with grace; collect thy store Of bright artillery glancing from afar; Soft melting tones thy thundering cannon s roar, Blushes and fears thy magazine of war. (Barbauld) She suggests that women should use their lady like qualities men have established upon them to their advantage, rather than try to fight against it. It is clear that Wollstonecraft believed that women deserve equality to men and that the only reason they were not as equal was because they were not given the proper tools to be so (such as education). • 9. The Bean Trees by Barbara Kingsolver Birds are a personal symbol for Turtle s development. Throughout the novel, birds are tied to Turtle and major events in her life. Turtle makes her first sound when the car stops suddenly to avoid a family of quail. I slammed on the brakes and we all pitched forward... I think that sound was a laugh ...In the road up ahead there was a quail, the type that has one big feather spronging out the front of its head like a forties model ladies hat. We could just make out that she was dithering back and forth in the road, and then we gradually could see that there were a couple dozen babies running around her every which way (Kingsolver 106 107). Turtle and Taylor have become comfortable as a family and Turtle has recovered from her previous trauma to the point that she makes audible noises and expresses herself. Just as the family of Taylor and Turtle has brought joy to the lives of Lou Ann, Mattie, Esperanza and Estevan, this disruptive family of birds bring joy and laughter to Taylor and Turtle. When Taylor takes Turtle to the doctor and learns the extent of Turtle s abuse, she sees a birdthat has made its nest inside a cactus. I looked through the bones to the garden on the other side. There was a cactus with bushy arms and a coat of yellow spines as thick as fur. A bird had built her nest in it. In and out she flew among the horrible spiny branches, never once hesitating. You just couldn t imagine how she d made a home in there (Kingsolver 137 138). Just as the bird has ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 12. How Muscles Vary In Size And Shape Muscles vary in size and shape for particular reasons, first of all that variation of shapes and sizes truly facilitate different movements in our body and provide different amounts of endurance and strength. To give an example, our mouth serves an important role in our body, it lets food/water inside and also maintains unnecessary guests on the outside by closing, without such muscles like those in the mouth being in a circular shape they wouldn t be able to contract as efficiently to close and open the mouth opening. Muscles are shaped based on the movement/role by which they are meant to produce, shape goes hand in hand with function. In the human body there are 5 types of different muscleshapes, each allowing for particular movement to occur. The 5 types of muscle shapes are parallel, circular, convergent, fusiform, pennate.... This particular type of muscle is the most abundant in the human body, some examples of parallel muscles include the Sartorius, which is perhaps one of the most well known in this category and my personal favorite the sternocleidomastoid. Circular muscles also as their name suggests have a circular shape they are also known as sphincter muscles, they usually surround openings in the body and produce movement that close such openings among contraction. Most common examples of circular muscles are the muscles that surround the mouth and orbicularis oculi (surround the eyes). Convergent muscles have origins that are wider than the point of insertion, the particular way its muscle fibers are arranged allow the muscle to produce high levels of force production. MANAGENENT AND LEADERSHIP The concepts of leadership and management are often viewed in different ways with different theories and schools of thought regarding the meaning of these terms (Gold, Thorpe and Mumford, 2010). Whatever the outcome at the end of the day, it is the manager who is responsible. This means that rather than forces or facts, it is people that manage; and the perception, commitment and accountability of managers are the determining factors of success of failure when it comes to management. Therefore, it can be deduced that managers act or execute plans but it is management that determines if goals are going to be achieved or not by bringing people and tasks together (Drucker, 2012). Management is what holds an institution together and makes it work (Drucker, 2012). Likewise, leadership is multi faceted and can apply to many different situations (Stanfield, 2009). E sa (2012) described leadership as getting people to perform tasks in order to achieve certain aims. Stanfield argues that leadership is largely based on experience and does not necessarily depend on the number of followers and that to be able to lead effectively; one must also be able to follow. This is supported by Adeniyi (2010) who adds that there are many forms of leadership and leaders possess different traits and temperaments. Stanfield states that factors such as moral standards and integrity play a role in effective leadership. Leaders are often said to charismatic and possessing the skill that enables them to draw others to their visions or ideas. Although seen as a good quality, he points out that charisma can be either constructive or destructive, depending on how it is channeled ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

As many areas of Houston are transitioning from relief to rebuilding, our politicians and local leaders need to take hard look at the best path moving forward. Despite tensions between Texan politicians and the national government, it is to our benefit that we turn to federal funding to provide for our people. Though we are Houston Strong and were able to act quickly in helping our neighbors immediately following the devastation, it is imperative that we work cohesively with the national government to make Texasstronger for the long run. As we begin moving forward we need to ask ourselves, Do we want to rebuild sooner or better? As we re trying to move from relief to recovery and rebuilding, it s nearly imperative that we look back to unveil why this widespread flooding occurred in the first place. If we trace back to the research of engineers in the 1990 s, it was recorded that the reservoir system was inadequate and endangered thousands of lives and properties (Thompson). • 17. Assessing Secular Temperature Trends Of Hawai Д ЕҐ I Assessing Secular Temperature Trends in HawaiК»i May 14, 2015 (Draft) MA Thesis Proposal By Marie Maile McKenzie Department of Geography University of HawaiК»i at MДЃnoa Abstract Large scale, global temperature analyses and climate change models may sometimes oversimplify or generalize smaller, regional trends. Only until a few years ago, efforts on climate change projections for island scale has intensified for more reliable assessments of various impacts of long term climate trends (Hamilton, 2014). Temperature changes over HawaiК»i are expected to exceed the current daily maximum values by the end of the 21st century (Lauer et al., 2013). Mountainous tropical islands in the Hawaiian archipelago are showing greater warming than the lower elevations (Giambelluca et al. 2008; Diaz et al. 2011, 2014). Observed surface air temperature trends can also be used to test regionally downscaled climate models. The goal of this thesis is to analyze climate data to assess possible trends that are likely to impact future management of summit ecosystems. This research is essential to the effective protection and restoration of these fragile alpine and subalpine ecosystems. The primary focus of this research is to expand on and update the previous analysis by Giambelluca et al. (2008) by extending the data set from 2006 through to 2014 15 in order to: (a) develop a revised HawaiК»i Temperature Index to include the more recent data; (b) assess changes that occurred in the ... Jaffree calls into question the constitutionality of an Alabama statute that authorized teachers to lead a one minute period of silence for meditation or voluntary prayer in all public schools. Ishmael Jaffree, the parent of three students in the Mobile County Public School system filed a complaint that two of his three children had been subjected to various acts of religious indoctrination, as a result of Alabama statute 16 1 20.1 and asked for an injunction prohibiting Mobile County schools from maintaining or allowing the maintenance of regular religious prayer services. The purpose of Jaffree s complaint was to prohibit the devotional services occurring in his children s school and the consequent mockery of his children that occurred when they refused to recite the prayers to Almighty God (Stevens, 40). This type of law in Alabama public schools was not the first of its kind. Prior to statute 6 11 20.1, Alabama passed law 16 1 20 authorizing one minute of silence in public schools for meditation. After the authorization of statute 16 1 20.1 came 16 1 20.2, which allowed teachers to lead willing students in a prayer (Stevens, 40). Opinion of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 19. The Reasons Of Non Compliance IV.The reasons of non compliance Due to the fact, the board dismissed Steven Sewell from CEO because his characteristics are not suitable with the characteristics of new board. This reason is very subjective and unreasonable. This paper would not examine the unreasonable reason from the board of FDC as above, but will observe the fact that the removal of a director by the board is not the first time happened. There are some previous cases which are similar to the FDC case in which directors were dismissed by the board, such as in the case of Allied Mining Processing Ltd v Boldbow Pty Ltd ( Allied v Boldbow ), Central Exchange Ltd v Rivkin Financial Services Ltd ( Central v Rivkin ), and Scottish Colonial Ltd v Australian Power Gas Co Ltd ( Scottish v Australian Power ). In those three cases, the decision by the judges is considerably different. In Allied v Boldbow and Central v Rivkin, the judges state that Section 203D does not replace any other power of removal possessed by the company. Therefore, a company could regulate in their constitution to dismiss a director without the need for a vote of shareholders (in defined circumstances). Conversely, in Scottish v Australian Power, the judges emphasise that Section 203D is mandatory, and therefore, the process of removal a director must follow Section 203D. Due to those cases, it is clear that there are pro and contra about the dismissal of a director as stipulated in the Section 203D. One side argues that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 22. The Humanity Of Frankenstein In Mary Shelley s Frankenstein For as long as man has encompassed this world, the divisive enigma of humanity has prevailed. Seeping its way into each generation, while sparking heated conversations, it has become evident that there is much we do not know about what truly makes us human. Regardless of our genetic composition, philosophers often ponder the deeper meaning of humanity. We know that, biologically, recreating the genetic makeup of a human does not yield humanity, so what is the missing aspect? Humans have the ability to contemplate their own existence in this world. Awareness of existence. This driving force enables us to analyze situations while placing ourselves within them. Our involuntary ability to understand the impact of our actions and the affect they have on others causes us to be inherently human. Our actions evoke strong emotions within us that allow us to learn through our experiences. We retain the resonated feelings of certain occurrences and apply them to others in order to deduce outcomes. Often this facet of mankind is taken for granted, yet we are reminded, through both literature and hypothetical scenarios, of its importance. Frankenstein, by Mary Shelley, constitutes as one of these profound reminders. Shelley develops a theoretical story in which the humanity of Frankenstein s monster is questioned. Despite having the accurate organs and framework of a human, Shelley causes the reader to seek the missing aspect that is preventing the monster from being human. Likewise, ... After this specific heat is reached, a chemical reaction occurs and turns the fuel source of the fireinto a vapor. An advantage of this option is that a number of top players would be able to seek employment elsewhere, and could sign lucrative contracts in the Russian Superleague (now KHL), the SHL in Sweden, the NL in Switzerland, or leagues in Finland or the Czech Republic. Another disadvantage is that fans would be greatly disappointed with the loss of an entire hockey season. Blackjack Reflection I was amazed by the movie not only because it revealed the complicated inner conflict of Ben Campbell, but also because the exciting counting cards method presented throughout the scenes. The movie describes a boy, Ben Campbell, who is hard working and outstanding in his class. However, Campbell needed money to apply for Harvard University Medical school. In the movie, Campbell complained to his friends that he couldn t dazzle the admission officer because he s done nothing. Ben was a student who crushed exams and showed up early day by day. He gave up his personal time for fun, which caused his lack of life experience. Though I think life experience doesn t have to be as crazy as counting card at Vegas, a person at least needs to feel passion in his life. In the end, Ben dazzled the admission officer and won scholarship for Med school. His achievement was a result of the lesson he learned from his experience. Ben learned to value his friendship and family more than money. He was no longer blinded by the wealth and excitement in the casino. Above all the precious life lessons the movie teaches its audiences about, I m most attracted to the counting cards method. Therefore, I studied about the method and its disadvantages. It is not a disease until it is evaluated. With Khristian having a productive cough with mucus and a high grade temperature, this shows there s is an infection in the body systematically. A productive cough is often associated with a feeling of chest tightness in the chest. Vomiting can mean different things; when a child coughs or has a lot of mucus drains in the stomach, the swelling in the trachea activate the gag reflex which induces vomit. The pathophysiology alteration that can be associated with this cough could be croup, pneumonia and influenza. These three diagnoses are the most common diagnosis in children with similarity in clinical presentation. The pathophysiology of croup explained that when a child has a croup, he or she wakes up in the middle of the night with a barking cough and shortness of breath (Murray et al., 2011). It is usually caused by a viral infection known as parainfluenza virus with type 1 3 being the most common type. Most people have smart phones that store all of their conversations through text messages, emails, picture messages, social media applications and chat messengers. As much as we would like to believe that we are the only ones that have access to our phones there are ways for police to be able to tap our phone without our permission. This essay will examine court cases regarding text messages including the admissibility and inadmissibility of text messages as evidence in court, verification issues and also how to create fake conversations through text messages. Evidence of text messages are primarily used by prosecutors to discredit the defendant(s) even though prior discreditable conduct is generally inadmissible, however, exceptions are made (R v SM, 2012 [8]). In the case of R v SM, the judge concluded that the text messages are admissible evidence for two reasons, both on the basis that the messages provided direct evidence to the defendant s involvement in the crime. Therefore, the exception under the exclusionary rule applies because the evidence is highly relevant and cogent that its probative value in the search for truth outweighs any potential for misuse (R v SM, 2012 [6]). This is a short lived annual growth. It blooms in late May to mid June with one or two clusters that produce roughly five fourteen flowers per cluster. The flowers are yellow green or creamy green with purple tints. However, the seeds mature from July until around October. A single plantmay have multiple stems, which is frequently being mistaken for individual plants. It takes on average fifteen years for it to grow and develop into a mature adult. After it reaches the adult stage, every stem produces flowers for two to three years. They can grow to be one or two feet tall. Habitats include slightly moist to dry tall grass and upland prairies. Soil conditions in these habitats range from acid and nutrient poor in Missouri. Conservation efforts include delaying haying until September, periodic burning of prairies, and rotational grazing. In the past, Mead s milkweed was throughout much of Missouri. It is presently found in the Osage Plains region and the St. Francois mountains region of the Ozarks. Adaptations allow the species to change and adjust slowly to the environment for survival. The sap of most milkweed plants is toxic. This prevents the plants from being eaten. Students should have the right to wear any type of attire they desire to because it is a form of expressing their individuality. Improving Blood Circulation Research Paper elthammyo.com.au Myotherapy for Improved Blood Circulation Myotherapy is a combination of massage and other techniques that relaxes and heals the body in a number of different ways, including increasing blood circulation. The myotherapist analyses each patient before taking action to ensure that he or she works on the specific trigger points that will alleviate the patient s tension, pain or other issue. At times, patients have an injury that requires attention to speed healing in the area in order the patients to be able to return their normal lives. Our topic today is on the fact that you can rely on myotherapy for improved blood circulation. How Myotherapy Increases Blood Flow As the myotherapist massages the necessary trigger points, the muscles release their tension, and this in turn relaxes the veins and arteries that transport the blood to and from the heart and other parts of the body. Light Color Lab Light, Color, and Solutions Lab In this experiment, the relationships between wavelength, absorbance, concentration, and cell path are explored through separate, smaller experiments. These relationships can be combined to derive a single equation known as Beer s Law. This equation is then used to identify an unknown solution s formula weight. A traditional artist s colorwheel, using pigments, consists of the colors of the rainbow. A color wheel using light, which is known as a chemist s color wheel, also consists of the rainbow colors. The main difference between these two color wheels can be seen when colors are mixed together. In the case of mixing light, when all of the colors are added together, the result is white.1 When mixing pigments, however, the result of all colors combined is black.1 Mixing colors of light together results in a lighter color; for example, mixing red and green results in yellow, a lighter color.2 The combination of several paint colors results in a darker color due to less colors of light being reflected.2 Essentially, the mixing of the colors of light uses the additive color system while mixing pigment colors using the... In the article Happy Like God , written by Simon Critchley, Critchley proposes his view on happiness and its inability to be measured or found through sources outside of ones self. In another piece written by Richard Schoch, titled A Crtique of Positive Psychology, Schoch also discusses the topic through a process of critiquing studies and experiments that claim to have the answer to happiness. Both of these texts not only make claims that happiness cannot be measured, but they also bring questions to the table that provide valuable insights on the wrong answers in order for us to find the right ones. Critchley claims that through this feeling we are provided with sufficient , complete , and perfect happiness. (449). Opposed to such methods, Critchley suggests that other pleasures in life can leave emptiness in ones soul that seeks fulfillment through the process provided from being in solitaire. By dwelling on the past, and desiring the future, Critchley believes that we aren t living in the moment, and by doing so we are cutting ourselves short of being truly happy. In order to find moments where we are self content, Critchley believes that we must break away from daily distractions such as cell phones and car alarms so that we can reap the benefits of confined thinking. Such thinking, Critchley suggests, allows for one to be pleasantly lost in their thoughts while forgetting time all together. • 44. Meaning Of Blessed Be Meaning I have seen the expression Blessed Be quite often as a way of greeting and/or a farewell, indicating that the person saying/writing it wishes good fortune upon the person receiving it. I have seen this so many times that I thought that was exactly what it meant and even more, it was the correct way of greeting or saying goodbye to other people But through out my research I have learnt and understood that Blessed Be has a deeper meaning and it is one that we should be mindful when using it. The next step was to observe the sentiment among the users, before and after they had retweeted. We aggregated the before set for all users corresponding to a particular tweet and generated a set of 145 files. Similarly we generated a set of 145 files for After set as well. Then we used LIWC to generate the sentiment score for files corresponding to each BPD tweet. Thus for each of the 145 BPD Tweet, we generated sentiment score of before and after , and so we have 290 rows of data as an output by LIWC. When we request Topsy for 200 retweeters of a particular BPD Tweet, we got a random sample of 200 retweeters. For some of these users, the retweets were outside our time interval of consideration. Therefore the number of users considered is not the same across all BPD tweets, it is always a number less than 200. Therefore we added 2 new columns for analysis, the number of users considered and the total number of tweets considered. Later we divided the BPD tweets into two segments 1. Incident related (The tweets by BPD which spoke about the incident and things related to it) 2. Informational (The tweets by BPD which were sent out to public about the road being blocked or about parking related etc.). The reason for dividing into 2 segments was to further observe the difference of impact on users by these tweets, with the help of sentiment scores generated ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
