The Importance Of Gun Violence And Gun Laws
Mental health and mass shootings seem to go hand in hand, especially when the talk of gun laws
comes up.The debate about gun laws getting stricter due to the mass shootings across the country
has been stewing for about 18 years now. What sparked the debate was back in 1999, Columbine
High School was involved in a mass shooting killing 12. This is one of the many examples that
could define the gun violence and mass shootings in our country. As there seems to be a direct
correlation between gun violence and mental illness. Now rather than enforcing stricter gun laws in
the wake of recent gun violence events, the federal government should fund mental health
programs. Due to the outbreak of mass shootings in the country, and the violence associated with
gun people want stricter laws.In 1787 the constitution was written and gave us the right to bear
arms. When it comes to the restrictions pertaining to guns they are all state based. The country as
a whole has very minimal restrictions. That doesn t mean that there are no proposed laws. Some
of the laws that congress has voted on are as follows Tighten up background checks... Expand
background checks...Prevent suspected terrorists from buying guns(Republican version)... Prevent
suspected terrorists from buying guns(Democratic Version) (Phillips). The laws proposed are
good in theory, but will most likely never get passed because much of Congress seems to never
agree.Terrorism is a problem and it is a dangerous issue, but the real issue is mental health. It is a
constitutional right to be able to have a weapon and most states have strict laws.
There is a debate surrounding the topic of gun laws and it is whether we should have more or
less gun control. It was a very popular subject during the 2016 election. The debate is a very
republican vs democrat debate because of the views they have.In the 2016 election, the Democratic
candidate Hillary Clinton states, We can have common sense gun reforms that keep weapons out of
the hands of criminals and the violently unstable ( Should More Gun Control Laws Be Enacted
).What the message behind this is that there needs to be reform to be stricter to help keep guns out
of the criminals and mentally unstable hands.

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Lasers
The term laser originated as an acronym for light amplification by stimulated emission of
radiation. A laser is different from other sources of light in that it emits light coherently1. Spatial
coherence provides the advantage as a laser to be focused to a spot, enabling applications such as
lasercutting and lithography. Lasers also have high temporal coherence, which allows them to emit
lightwith a very narrow spectrum. They can emit a single colour of light. Temporal coherence can
be used to produce pulses of light. Laser has a number of applications. They are used in printers,
barcode scanners, optical communication, laser surgery, skin treatment, cutting, welding materials,
and laser lighting in entertainment2. When it comes to biomedical applications lasers are used in
the tattoo removal, laser surgeries, diagnostic procedures, therapeutic uses, and as an adjuvant
therapies in several disorders.

Tissues preferentially absorb light at varying wavelengths. Light has dual nature as described in
Physics. When it is travelling, it is considered to be continuous wave but when it strikes a tissue
or a surface it is considered as particle named as Photon: a pocket of energy2. Laser photons that
travel through a given tissue with a high absorption coefficient for its specific wavelength will lose
energy through absorption easily. Because these photons are readily absorbed, this light travels
much shorter distances than those light wavelengths that are not absorbed. The absorption of
photons from initial ray of laser eventually degrades the power of light with distance travelled.
Absorption coefficient for the various tissues is lesser at the wavelength of light between 600 to
900 nm, which means better tissue penetration is seen in lasers with these

The Pros And Cons Of The Social Learning Theory
The social learning theory in criminology states that people learn by observing others, then
attempt to replicate those behaviors they observed. These behaviors are learned through three
different ways according to the social learning theory. The first says that people learn by
observing others behaviors, and the rewards they receive by doing them. The second says that
people learn from observing others behaviors and the punishment that follows. The third way says
that people learn by observing others and receive no consequences for their actions. This paper will
attempt to show the pros and cons of social learningtheory in criminology, and how it relates to
statistical data.
Social Learning Theory and Statistical Proof A 2015/2016 study was conducted by the University
of Murcia and was comprised of 68 first year Primary Education students. It focused on the results
of students activity and interaction with others in their collaborative learning via a network. In this
case, a specific Facebook group was created specifically for the study. The experiment goal was to
improve and optimize future experience that constructed improved usage tools, analyze them, and
put them into practice (Diaz, Solano, Sanchez, 2017). The researcher was the moderator and a
participant, who collected the information through the direct observation process. Consideration
must be given that this type of study has limitations, such as the scarce control of strange variables,

Rhetorical Devices In Ground Zero
In the essay Ground Zero by Suzanne Berne writes about her very personal experience visiting
Ground Zero the place where the twin towers stood prior to the tragedy of 9/11. She uses
rhetorical devices throughout her essay to make the piece feel incredibly intimate and emotional
to the reader. She specifically uses imagery, tone, simile, and metaphor to explain her experience
to Ground Zero in a deeper and meaningful way to her readers. Berne uses rhetorical devices in
her essay Ground Zero to let her readers feel the same emotions and imagine the same things she
saw on her visit to make the essay very intimate and realistic. In Ground Zero Berne uses many
examples of imagery and metaphors to paint a descriptive picture of her surroundings and what she
saw to enhance her readers experience. She uses the imagery to make her readers feel as if they
were there and make them feel the same feelingsof awareness, and sadness she did. Suzanne
achieves this by recalling back to the horrid memories of 9/ll when the skyscraper shrouded in
black plastic, the boarded windows, the steel skeleton of the shattered Winter Garden. (Berne
176), By using these extremely explicit and descriptive details Suzanne allows her readers to
experience the rude awakening she had when she saw nothing in Ground Zero, but was able to
recall the chaos that went on that day. Suzanne lets her readers understand what was going on in
her mind , and clearly experience what she was feelingthat day

Socrates And Machiavelli s Views On Politics
Socrates and Machiavelli both lived during times of war and political transition. While both
philosophers present a then radical ideology to reform their state, they differed greatly on how to
achieve that end: Socrates practiced idealism, while Machiavelli advocated for realism. Their
differences of their beliefs are rooted in a conflicting perception of morality. Socratesbelieves
morality is based on an individual s attainment of goodness and truth, while Machiavelli concerns
himself with a leader s achievement of glory and honor. Because of their moral differences,
Socrates would oppose Machiavelli s concept of a prince and the political system he sought to
sustain him. To start, Machiavelli s realist morality follows a form of... Show more content on

Knowing full well that he could have bargained for a lesser sentence by proposing exile, among
other punishments, Socrates refused, believing that it would not allow him to lead a life worth
living:
...as I am convinced that I never wronged another, I will assuredly not wrong myself. I will not
say of myself that I deserve any evil, or propose any penalty...if I say exile what a life should I
lead (Apology, p. 72). So far, both Socrates and Machiavelli s moralities are in conflict. If
Socrates supported the concept of a prince, he would have heeded Machiavelli s advice by
proposing an alternative punishment to escape death. He would have done so because
Machiavelli envisioned a proactive prince who would take advantage of any opportunity to come
out on top. A Machiavellian prince in Socrates shoes would have proposed self censorship and
imprisonment as a plea bargain to the court, or would have escaped prison with Crito, all strategies
which Socrates vehemently rejected. To Socrates, the end living did not justify the means giving up
his idealistic beliefs. Throughout The Prince, Machiavelli advises that a prince should secure power
though a combination of fear, deception, cruelty, cunning, and immoral actions, including the
execution of political opponents. These negative traits branch out of Machiavelli s mantra, that it
is far safer to be feared than loved if you cannot be both (Prince, p. 151). To combat the immoral
perception of

Assault On Campus
How Should Sexual Assaults On Campus Be Handled? When congress passed the gender
equality law known as Title IX (1972) more than 40 years ago, no one expected it to make
colleges responsible for handling sexual assault. Title IX was a stealth law aimed at helping
women get through the doors of higher education and is now being interpreted to require colleges
to investigate and resolve students reports of rape, determining whether their classmates are
responsible for assault and, if so, what the punishment should be. (Wilson, Paragraph 1 2) The term
Sexual Assaultwas defined by the district as any type of sexual contact or behavior that occurs
without the explicit consent of the recipient. With that definition, the term on campus was... Show

McCaskill, who is organizing the three roundtables through her Subcommittee on Financial
Contracting Oversight, is teaming up with Senators Kirsten Gillibrand of New York and Richard
Blumenthal of Connecticut to better understand how colleges and universities handle sexual
assaults on campus, as the Senators consider legislative solutions. Participating in the roundtables
will be current or former student survivors, campus safety and sexual assault experts, sex crimes
prosecutors, university law enforcement, victim advocacy and response organizations, and
university administrators. These roundtables are the next step in our in depth look at the practices
our campus communities have in place to protect students and bring perpetrators to justice and
how we can fix, strengthen and enforce them, said McCaskill, a former courtroom prosecutor of
sex crimes. It s clear we have a lot of work to do to tackle the systemic issues that prevent victims
from reporting these crimes, that prevent schools from effectively protecting these survivors, and
prevent clear and proper enforcement of federal law. These meetings will help us understand, from
those who know best, what more we can do for students, administrators, and law enforcement to
give them the tools they need to curb this epidemic. (McCaskill, Paragraph 4) With all of this
happening many procedures have been suggested and are all getting tested out. The consequences
of sexual assault are potentially very serious. An immediate concern is a physical injury, which may
be extensive enough to require medical treatment or hospitalization.11 Pregnancy and sexually
transmitted diseases (STDs), including HIV, are additional concerns.12 Emotional damage may be
serious and equally requiring of treatment. Sexual assault may affect students academic achievement

A Moment To Remember Essay
A Moment to Remember Some things will stick with you forever, as for me it was words I will
never forget. It is about the time my dad told me that he was proud of me. It was sweet music to
my ears, like a Billy Holiday or a Nina Simone song. It was a moment that would live on till the
day I die. Words matter the most when it comes from one who means the world to you. I am my
father first child out of four children. Growing up I never wanted to disappoint him. Although,
my dad rarely expresses himself it was hard trying to figure out if I had disappointed him or not.
My father was strict with us, he was a I am going to tell you one time and one time only kind of
guy. The day I felt I had disappointed my father was the day I drop of high school he would say
education come first . My dad was a high school dropout himself, I felted I was holds at a higher

passing the G.E.D test, all he said was congratulation . I felted puzzled I said to myself only
congratulation , now I knew for sure I was not going to hear those words I am proud of you. The

The first milestone is when the technological feasibility, whether the software can be produced to
meet its design specification, is established, and the second milestone is when the software product
is available for general release to customers. All developmental costs incurred should be expensed
before meeting the first milestone, capitalized between the first milestone and the second, and
amortized when second milestone is reached.
Microsoft argues that the time between the two milestones is usually too short for the company to
capitalize on any significant amount of costs, therefore Microsoft s policy is to expense all
research and development costs as they incur regardless of whether the milestones are reached or
not. As a result, Microsoft has relatively consistent annual expenses during its software
development process compared to companies that capitalize on costs after technological feasibility
is established. After the development process is finished, Microsoft s software will start to generate
revenue but will not appear on the company s balance sheet because no costs were capitalized.
To illustrate the impact of Microsoft s cost capitalization policy, consider a specific software that
takes three years to develop, its technological feasibility is established at the end of year two, and
the developed software will be on the market for two years. The following tables are created with
arbitrary values to compare two cases where

Analysis Of Sherman Alexie s This Is What It Means For...
In the story This is What It Means to Say Phoenix Arizona by Sherman Alexie, the main character
Victor is a full blood Native American, whose father recently passed away in Phoenix, Arizona.
Victor must take the trip to collect his father s ashes, however due to his current financial situation
he is unable to take his journey. An old friend of Victors, by the name of Thomas builds the fire,
offers to help fund Victors trip on the condition that he go with him. It is because of Thomas that

Thomas Builds the Fire is character that has experiences many tragic outcomes in his life. For
example, he explains that his parents both died when he was young. My father, he died on
Okinawa in World War II, died fighting for this country, which had tried to kill him for years. My
mother, she died giving birth to me, died while I was still inside her. She pushed me out into the
world with her last breath (CITE). It is because of this tragedy, that he has the courage to

The music was written for amateurs because composers wanted more control rather than trusting
the improviser.
5. What were the new developments in the classical orchestra? (1 point)
There were four groupings: Strings (1st violins, 2d violins, violas, cellos, double basses),
Woodwinds (2 flutes, 2 oboes, 2 clarinets, 2 bassoons), Brass (2 French horns, 2 trumpets), and
Percussion (2 timpani).
A Classical Orchestra has a larger number of musicians.
Classical composers exploited the individual tone colors of orchestral instruments. A classical piece
has greater variety and more rapid changes of tone color. A theme might begin in the full orchestra,
shift to the strings, and then continue in the woodwinds.
The strings were the most important; first violins had the melody, along with clarinet melodic
solos, while the lower strings accompanied. The brass filled out the harmony, but did not play the
main melody. Timpani were used for rhythmic bite and emphasis.
6. Name and describe each of the movements in the standard four movement pattern in classical
forms? (2 points)
Fast movement: The opening movement is usually in sonata form and stresses an exciting
development of short motives. It is vigorous and dramatic.
Slow movement: The second movement, not usually in the tonic key, is either in sonata form, A B
A form, or theme and variations form. It is lyrical and slow.
Dance related movement: The third movement is

Potassium Chloride And The Molecules Through Semipermeable...
Potassium Iodide Binds to Polysaccharide Molecules through Semipermeable Membrane
Introduction:
Diffusion is defined at the net movement of molecular substances from an area of high
concentration to an area of low concentration. Beyond that, diffusion can further be divided into
two different kinds of net movement of substance to opposing concentration gradients, dialysis and
osmosis. Dialysis is defined as the separation of small molecules from large molecules as they pass
through a semipermeable membrane (Koerner, 1992).
When talking about dialysis, it is most often associated with the function or failure of the kidneys
ability to process and rid the body of toxins from the blood. It would prove to be fatal if the
kidneys failed to remove the roughly 1,500 liters of waste building up in the body (Nordqvist,
2015). This experiment mimics the nature of a selective plasma membrane and with time, monitors
to passing of substances in and out of the barrier. The end results should appear to show a color
changing chemical reaction within the more concentrated tube of 15%glucose/1%starch solution.
Initially the clear and milky appearance should transform into a black and deep purple hue from the
attachment of iodine to the sugar solution. The experiment has been conducted previously yielding
various results. External factors affecting the rate of diffusion play a part in this experiment. Heat
due to its influence on the thermodynamics of the molecular substances. Increasing

How Did The Collapse Of Capitalism
I agree with Karl Marx statement about capitalism. Marx felt that capitalism through
industrialization had increased the productive capability or power of the world s economy far
beyond what individuals had ever witnessed before. Despite this fact, Marx also felt that
capitalism created two different classes of people that were competing with each other on social
hierarchy. First, was the bourgeoisie who owned and controlled the means of creating a
production, and they also hired wage laborers to distribute their production. Second, was the
proletariat, who were mere common workers who owned nothing of a real production or any real
power to hired many workers. They had the right through to sell their own labor. Capitalisms
foundation is that it ensures these classes would struggle against one another. To the point where
the class of workers would become massive, and oppressed each other enough that it would
overthrow the bourgeoisie. Moreover, capitalism social classes would seize the means of production
from bourgeoisie and end the economic system eventually. The system of socialismwould be
ushered in and would gradually develop into pure communism.

The poems Remember , Piano and Poem at Thirty nine all explore melancholy emotions. How
far do you agree with this statement? Poem at Thirty nine and Piano explore melancholy
emotions while Remember does not in my opinion. The reasons I do no completely agree is
because the three poems all have hidden feelings and meanings. Poem at Thirty nine shows
melancholy emotions because it presents the loss of the persona s father and Piano portrays how
D.H. Lawrence misses his childhood. However Remember is not a sad poem but it might seem
so because it is explaining Rossetti s feelings towards death. Poem at Thirty nine is a free verse
structured poem by Alice Walker. There is sadness in the poem and it is presented by

Apart from that, the use of words after the turn, such as do not grieve , forget and smile also
indicate there is an opposite feeling. This is probably because at the turn, Rossetti changes her
feeling completely and demands everyone to forget her and be happy. The poem Piano by D.H.
Lawrence is a sad poem. In my opinion, the poem is tragic because the persona misses his
childhood. It could show a desire for D.H. Lawrence to return to his childhood and home. I weep
like a child for the past would suggest longing for the past. The persona also feels the lost the
comfort for home, the phrases to the old Sunday evenings at home and cosy parlor suggest the
persona s feeling for home. This could lead to D.H. Lawrence not able to return to his home
country suggesting he might be viewed as a traitor in World War I. There are some words that
resembles the sound of the piano, possibly because the poem is called Piano . The examples are:
boom of tingling strings and piano appassionato . They were effective because it reflects the title
of the poem. It suggest the persona longed for his childhood which D.H. Lawrence use to over his
fear of isolation. The line boom of tingling string was especially effective, because boom and
tingling strings sound completely opposite and they form a contrast (With boom sounding loud and
noisy and tingling strings sounding soft and

All the lower levels of management seem to need permission from the next level on things that I
have seen in other companies decided by the lower levels.
Question 4: What is the frequency of the communication between the different management levels?
How does it take place? Officially? Unofficially?
From the very top, our CEO holds quarterly meetings with all employees to cover the status of the
company. The management team also holds a more numbers based meeting with all management
team to cover the status of the company. It is after this level that the communication falls apart.
Very little from the middle managers makes it down to the next levels of employees. This company
is publicly held so with some investigation the numbers are available, but as an employee we should
not have to do the digging to get the information.
Question 5: At what level does the communication flow to the lowest level of the organization?
It will come from three places with varying quality. First is the quarterly meeting with the CEO.
This is a very high level of company information that is shared. Second, there are random posting
boards that Human Resources will place various information on. Third, the direct Supervisors will
conduct employee meetings. This last one seems to be sporadic and not as consistent as it should
be, and with some Supervisors not conducted at all.

Analysis Of The Book Watchmen By Moore And Gibbons
If the concept of good and evil was clear and concise, every nation would have an identical criminal
codes. However, mortality is subjective as religion, culture and personal opinions influence human s
judgment of what is right and wrong. The graphic novel Watchmen, written and drawn by Moore
and Gibbons is a graphic novel about a mysterious murderer hunting vigilantes formally known as
the Watchmen. While the remainder of the former members of the Watchmen are searching for this
mysterious murderer, the graphic novel depicts how each vigilante had his or her version of justice
and how it should be served. By showing the perspective of each vigilantes view of the world,
Watchmen demonstrates that the concept of good and evildiffer for every individual. The vigilante
s history, their perspective of how the world runs and their concept of justice, are a reflection of
how people in modern day society cannot fully agree on a set of social standard.
When the world was minutes away from reaching midnight on the doomsday clock, Ozymandis had
executed his plan to prevent the world from a nuclear destruction. By teleporting a monster to
destroy half of New York, it forced the world to work together to defeat this monster while
forgetting the fact that they were engaged in the Cold World. Ozymandias understanding of morality
was that some sacrifices, civilian casualties and the destruction of New York, must be made for the
greater good, stopping the world from total annihilation.

Analysis Of The East Los Angeles College Transfer Center
The department that I reviewed using the Council for the Advancement of Standards (CAS) was
the East Los Angeles College (ELAC) Transfer Center. I am currently doing my graduate

experience to choose this department to review using the CAS standards because it offers the
opportunity to learn more about the department and probably provide my supervisor suggestions

Program
The primary elements of the department are academic advising, transfer application assistance,
transfer assistance, academic counseling. As a strength, the program is intentional in providing
students with reliable information to transfer, since the information is always changing. Also, the
department is strong in implementing services such as conferences, workshops, summer programs,
and campus tours that with assist students in the transfer process. Another strength of the
department is a consistent collaboration with other programs within the institution to benefit the
students such as collaboration with programs like Puente and EOP S in which these programs bring
their student to the Transfer Center to attend Transfer 101 workshops. An area in which the
department was inconsistent with the CAS standards was in not having established student learning
outcomes. In addition, the department was also inconsistent in their program design not using
multiple formats to deliver the information, for example lacking a video presence, not doing
enough to engage with parents, therefore being unconsidered of their student population.
Organization and Leadership The leadership practices of the department are consistent with the
CAS standards in that its practices

How Did George Soros Become Successful
George Soros is one of an exclusive group of elite investors that includes Warren Buffett, Carl

The Mobile Food Bank Delivery Service
The Mobile Food Bank delivery service serves as an 8 month pilot project and may possibly
satisfy the needs of people with mobility issues. As stated earlier, this project also aims to deliver
to approximately 50 households bi weekly in Halifax. Ultimately, this project hopes to improve
food security in Halifax. However, there are a few evident and visible barriers that exist, amongst
these are finding the financial support for this project, and most importantly, the effectiveness of the
project.
Since this 8 month project is a non profit project that does not aim to sell food, but rather to give
food to those who are in need instead, there is no need to apply for a Food Establishment Permit
(Nova Scotia, 2015). However, if the project committees wish to organize any fundraisers prior to
the start of the project, which includes food booths or mobile canteens that involves selling food at
temporary events, it is then necessary that the project committee applies for a Temporary Event
Permit (Nova Scotia, 2015).
In addition to fundraising events, there are also several grants that are available. However, grants
do not provide a guaranteed source of income. Applying for grants is an arduous task, which would
fall under the responsibilities of the project employee, and the start of the project would be
dependent on the employee s ability to secure the finances.

2.1 Entrepreneurship, Entrepreneur And Enterprise Skills.
2.1 Entrepreneurship, Entrepreneur and Enterprise Skills
Defining the very essence of entrepreneurship is part of a longstanding theoretical debate (Henry,
Hill Leitch, 2005, p. 99). Definitions are particularly important in the field because many of the
terms associated with the discipline, such as entrepreneurship, entrepreneur and enterprise, are often
used interchangeably. For the purpose of this review, the definition of entrepreneurship is
synonymous with Gibb (2007), who describes entrepreneurship as sets of behaviours, attributes and
skills that allow individuals and groups to create change and innovation, cope with and even enjoy
higher levels of uncertainty and complexity (Gibb, 2007, p. 1). Meanwhile, the term entrepreneur

2.2 Importance of Entrepreneurship Education
The importance of the role of EE and enterprise skills is highlighted in both European and global
development views (Organisation for Economic Co operation and Development (OECD), 2015).
While a strong emphasis on economic success and job creation has propelled EE at tertiary level,
there has not been an integrated approach in the secondary education sector (OECD, 2015).
However, development is underway, with international education institutions facing policy pressure
to explicitly embed EE in the curriculum (Mwasalwiba, 2012).
A crucial reason for teaching entrepreneurial skills to youth is to help prepare them for employment
and, in some cases, influence self employment and choosing entrepreneurship as a career path.
However, EE is not about simply creating entrepreneurs and businesses. It is about teaching students
enterprise skills, transferable to the real world. Taking part in incubator style programs teaches
students that failure is acceptable; they learn resilience which is key in the competitive 21st
Century employment landscape. This is reflected in the following textbook quote: Businesses fail,
but entrepreneurs do not. Failure is often the fire that tempers the steel of an entrepreneur s
learning and street savvy (Timmons, 1999, p. 47). Resilience, along with skills such as problem
solving and creativity, are highly desired by Australian employers, as demonstrated in recent

Symptoms And Symptoms Of Nausea
What Does Nausea Feel Like
One of the early signs of pregnancy is nausea, and many expectant mothers experience nausea
during early pregnancy. Nausea is usually a common symptom throughout the first trimester or even
longer, and it is typically the most complained about symptom that women report. Fortunately, even
though nausea can be terribly uncomfortable, it is not harmful to you or your baby. Not
surprisingly, first time mothers want to know, what does nausea feel like?

Why Would I Experience Nausea in Pregnancy?
Nobody can say exactly what causes nausea during pregnancy. However, it is probably a
combination of the many changes your body is going through and some of the possible causes
could include:
$Estrogen: The hormone estrogen increases rapidly during early pregnancy and may contribute to
feelings of nausea.
$Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (hCG): This hormone also increases during early pregnancy, and
especially if the pregnancy is with twins. While not much is known about its contribution to nausea,
the timing suggests that it might increase a mother s sensitivity to it.
$Enhanced Sensitivity to Odors: It s very common for pregnant women to be overwhelmed by
certain odors. Culprits can include eggs, raw meat,

Summary Of King Leary s Gross Misconduct
King Leary s Gross Misconduct
The term gross misconduct is defined as, a match penalty that was imposed to players and team
personnel for extreme unsportsmanlike conduct. ( Gross Misconduct par. 1) This hockey term fits
the character Percival King Leary appropriately as he treated his dear friend Manny Oz very
poorly. Although Leary made many mistakes in his friendship with Manfred, he manages to redeem
himself at the end of the novel. In this paper, I will explain how Leary betrays Manny, how he feels
guilt throughout the entire novel, and finally, how he manages to redeem himself in the end.
Leary accomplishes betraying Manfred multiple times in the novel. The initial betrayal
eventually leads Manny to his death, which will be explained later. The first example can be
found on pages 137 138, where Poppa Rivers and Leary have a conversation: Poppa Rivers said,
Tell Manfred to stop drinking. (...) Say to him, Manfred, stop drinking liquor. Do not drink it
anymore. (...) But no one has said this to him: because you love me I m asking you for this
promise, that you will stop drinking this liquor that hurts you so badly. (...) If you were going to
do it, you would have said yes. But you haven t. So you won t. (...) Oh, I suppose you might say,
Hey Manny, go easy on the boozing, but you won t make him promise, and it won t work.

William Shakespeare Character Analysis
I m a huge nerd about Shakespeare.William Shakespeare is someone who has had a profound
impact upon the consciousness and culture of the entire English speaking world. His plays are the
foundation for some of the greatest movies and TV shows that we have including many of our
english words and many phrases and ideas that we commonly use come directly from Shakespeare.
However, there are many who wonder who he really is and many people speculate that the man
they call William Shakespeareis not actually the author of the plays and sonnets attributed to his
name. I do not agree and I am in firm belief that William Shakespeare is the one who wrote the
plays.
William Shakespeare as we know him was born in Stratford, a village on the Avon river in the
county of Warwickshire in England. We have no actual records of when he was born, however
we do have a record of when he was baptized, which was on April 26 1564. He was the eldest
surviving son of a glove maker, John Shakespeare and Mary Arden. At the age of eighteen he
married Anne Hathaway and until 1592, when he resurfaced again in the London theatre scene.
The first point of evidence in the authorship conflict is that Shakespeare s name is on the plays
and poems he wrote. Tom Kathman and David Reedy point this out in their book. How We Know
That Shakespeare Wrote Shakespeare: The Historical Facts. In 1593, the narrative poem Venus and
Adonis was published by Stratford native Richard Field, with a dedication to the Earl of

Coaching Track Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be a successful track coach

twenty million Americans who are running today, most who start do so for the wrong reasons,
with the wrong attitude, and tend to lose interest after a few weeks or months. Many quit. This is
usually because they become concerned with superficial goals such as time and distance and never

guys be doing the same workout, when it would only benefit one of you (Washington). Not only
does a coach prepare athletes body but also their minds. A coach prepares the athletes mind by
getting them to think about what they are going to be doing before there event comes up. If one
were to look at Maurice Green before a race, one would notice that he is very concentrated and
thinking about what he needs to do to win. Another example of that would be football or
basketball players. Before the game, each athlete has his or her own ritual before game time.
That concentration is called getting in the zone. What I do know is how to get you in the best

Teacher Student Relationship
Considering that most students spend five to seven hours a day with their teacher for almost ten
months, it is safe to say that school is a big part of a student s day to day life (Urooj). Since students
spend most of their time in schools, it is import for them to have a positive relationship with their
teachers. A positive teacher student relationship is a relationship that has emotional support toward
the students, and has a positive effect on the student s outcomes ( Teacher Student Relationship ).

A social capital in a classroom setting is defined as having a caring teacher student relationship
where the students feel that they are both cared for and expected to succeed. Social capitals can
work in many different ways, it can reduce dropout rates by nearly half, help encourage the idea of
going to college and furthering their education, and provide support for their academic endeavors
(Gallagher). The simple task of just getting to know the students can have such a huge positive
impact on the student s social development. If a teacher really wants to create a positive
relationship with their students so they can further help their academic development, it would be
wise for them to communicate with their students. A key part of communication is actively
listening to what the other is saying. Actively listening, in regards to teachers and students, means
that the teacher should not just listen to what the students are saying but listen for the meaning
behind it. This will develop a trust between the teacher and the student and would help grow a
positive relationship (Zakrzewski). When a teacher actively listens to their students, they will
become aware of any difficulties that they are having. Since no student is perfect and knows
everything, understanding a child s predicaments will lead the teacher to have more patience with
each individual in their respected area of conflict. Thus making the student feel secure and less

Russian Orthodox Church In Animal Farm
The Russian Orthodox Church is full of mystery and has been around for many generations. Other
name for the Russian Orthodox Church is Eastern Orthodox Church, it s also known for being
autocephalous. The Russian Orthodox Church believes the bible to be the world of God, in other
words it is trinitarian. In the novel, Animal Farm the church is represented as Moses the raven.
Moses comes and goes and tells the animals about Sugar Candy Mountain. The Russian Church has
been around since 1448, but the metropolitans of Kiev were the head of the church. The church
wants immunity from taxation in the 1270, while it was under the rule of Mogul. The community
of believers, which apostle Andrew founded is what makes up the Russian Church. The

The Concerning Issue of Air Pollution
One of the most concerning issues that has affected the entire world is air pollution, but we do
not seemed to see it as a serious problem to take care off until now. Scientist from the World Health
Organization released information on their research that was taken place in 2012. About 7 million
lives around the world was claimed by air pollutionand more than one third were from fast
developing countries from India to Japan, but China was the most concentrated area of air
pollution. China has a goal to urbanize very quickly that the cities do not think about planning on
proper waste dumping and helping the environment. The mast movement of urbanization will
affect the farmers greatly because they rely on the environment to be clean and using the sun to
help grown their crops. The World Bank study offered advice to China that building dense cities
will be more efficient so the people in China could avoid larger risk of pollution from long
commutes traveling and high energy consumption. China did listen to the advice but they still
want to reach their goal. China wants about 60 percent of the population to be living in cities by
2020, as of right now they are at 54 percent of their goal. The World Bank and World Health
Organizationsaid the greatest threats to human health are burning noxious fuels from coal, wood,
and animal waste. (Jacobs and Johnson, 2014) China s largest reason for air pollution is the use of
coal, because two thirds of the country uses it for energy.

Personality Theory Of Drug Abuse
Personality theory helps to tease out the relationship between individual personality and their
drug use pattern. The theory posits that people have something wrong in the emotional or
psychic life that makes drugs attractive to them. One personality theorist believed that euphoria
derived from drugs is an easy way out for immature individuals who lack responsibility, a sense
of independence, and the capacity to postpone self indulgent gratification for the sake of
attaining long term goals (Ausbel, 1980, pp.4 5). To another personality psychologist drug
abuse is a defence mechanism for eliminating feelings of inferiority or inadequacies in some
individuals. Low self esteem can initiate drug abuse and causes of low self esteem vary from
individuals to individuals however common causes include parental neglect, physical or social
deformity, peer rejection and finally poor coping abilities or mechanism that are either socially
disvalued or self defeating (Kaplan, 1975, p. 129). Hans eyesenck suggested and believed that
people tend to seek out ways to modify their temperament and bring themselves to an even and
stable state. For example he reasoned that introverts, whose brains are over excited and always
gnawing at... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This theory can provide an explanation for substance use or misuse, in that individuals choose
certain behaviour because of its perceived favourable outcome which in the case of drug abusers
could be a feeling of pleasure, mental escape, or recognition and acceptance by a preferred group. If
the behaviour results in the desired outcome or meets up to the expectation strengthening or
increase in that behaviour will then occur. It is important to note that the expectation can be
maladaptive in nature as with case of drug

Doing Business in Mexico
Executive Summary
To be given an opportunity to do business in Mexico, one must understand where to start and how
to deal with a totally different social and cultural environment from what one is accustom too. To
succeed in making a good first impression and to carry out any type of business transaction, it is
important to understand what these differences are.
When conducting business in Mexico, there are specific things that must be understood and
complied with. Just understanding how important building a relationship is, such as shaking hands
and exchanging pleasantries can have a huge impact. What could potentially be the start of a bad
or mediocre business trip now has the possibility of being a successful one.

The gesture of circling the index finger to the thumb to give the Okay sign is extremely offensive
to the Mexicans. The placement of ones hands on their hips is a sign of aggressiveness, while
placing the hands the pocket is impolite. (CC Consulting Ltd 2004)
Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner
Any type of business meeting can take place while eating, depending on the time of day. Business
breakfast is common in Mexico and usually run between the hours of 8 11 am. Most of the time
business breakfasts are conducted in good restaurants. Usually these business breakfasts will last no
more than two hours. (Mexperience, 2006)
Lunches start around 2:00 pm and lasting until 4:00. In Mexico, lunch is the main meal for the day
and not to be used as a detailed power lunch. (Mexperience, 2006) During this time, business ideals
and concepts are discussed but the specifics are not. At other times, lunch will be used to finalize
agreements from previous meetings.
Dinner in Mexico is a late night affair starting around 9:00 pm. There could be times where
circumstances will dictate that business needs be done at dinner. Majority of the time though,
dinner is reserved for the family, which is very important to the people of Mexico. Should one be
invited to dinner, business should not be discussed unless the host wishes to discuss.

Burmese Pythons Taking over the Florida Everglades
Burmese pythons taking over the Everglades

Burmese pythons taking over the Everglades Imagine taking a walk in the Florida Everglades.
Now imagine that during that walk you come across a giant snake. In that snakes grip is a full
sized White tailed deer. The two are battling it out, but the snake is clearly winning, it does not
stand a chance against a full sized python. What could possibly be even worse than that would be a
Burmese python battling an alligator and winning? It has happened even though the snake did not
make it away from the fight. It looks like something out of a horror film and it is happening more
than people might think. This giant snake ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There are many different efforts in place to slow the population growth of the Burmese python. Due
to the overwhelming amount of the non native pythons in the Everglades (which is expanding to
the Florida Keys and beyond) there has been a ban on Burmese pythons and 3 other constrictor
snakes. On January 17, 2012 the Federal Wildlife service declared a ban on overseas imports of
the snakes as well as interstate imports. That means the snakes are now illegal to bring into the
United States as well as just transporting over state lines (BIG snakes, 2012). Although there is
now a ban in place some feel that it is already too late to save the Florida Everglades. According
to Steven A. Williams, former director of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) warns that
invasive species are the number one environmental threat to the United States. (BIG snakes,
2012) The federal government has spent billions of dollars trying to slow or stop the threat of
invasive species. In January 2013 in an effort to curb the python problem Florida began it s very
first ever python hunt. Thousands of hopeful hunters have signed up for a month long challenge
where prizes for the longest snake and others are up for grabs. People from around the country
have slithered their way to Florida in hopes of bagging a Burmese python or two. As of January 25th

60,000 kilometres. With two thirds of Australia s population living near the coastline as the benefits
of the beaches and the coastal breeze attract people to live near the coast. Coastal management

East Is Red
Nanjing was taken over by the Chinese communist force on 23 April, 1949, soon after the peace
negotiation between the Guomingdang (GMD) and the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) was
proved impossible. As early as in January of the same year, the talk for possible truce had begun
between the two sides. Yet apparently, the two sides were expecting different things. While the
Nanjing government was still struggling with its own control areas and problems of fractional
politics, crossing the Yangze River and taking over the southern Chinawere only the issue of time
for Mao Zedong. As the Nationalist representatives that remained in Nanjing failed to accept the
ultimatum on 20 April of the proposed peace conditions, the People s Liberation Army (PLA)...

It has become disenfranchised with the Nationalist rule since 1949. Indeed, its historical status as
the capital of China s first republican regime has been depoliticized. On one hand, the disassociation
is achieved through a nationalization of the Nationalist s governmental buildings. By renaming and
privatizing the physical marks of Nanjing s link with the politically incorrect past for the Party s
bureaucrat and administrative use, the symbol of potential political rebellion is eliminated. On the
other, the depoliticization is possible through the mass consumption of the Republican past and
thereby making the past exotic and irretrievable. This is exemplified in the renovation of the
Republican buildings as the Nanjing 1912, one of the most popular tourist sites in Nanjing, located
next to the Presidential Palace, which is also commercialized as a major tourist spot. Named after
the first year of the ROC s establishment in 1912, this commercial district which houses bars, fancy
restaurants, franchised coffee shops, etc. inside Republican style architectures is an ultimate
epitome of the demolition of incorrect political memories by the CCP authorities against the
backdrop of China s growing market oriented economy. The liberation of Nanjing, therefore, is seen
not remembered today as a significant historical event itself but an

The Characteristics Of Generation X And Generation
Chapter Two
Introduction Purpose
Motivation is the word derived from the word motive which means, needs, desires, wants or
drives within the individuals. It is the process of stimulating people to action to accomplish the
goals. In the work goal context the psychological factors stimulating the people s behavior can be
desire for money, success, recognition, job satisfaction, teamwork, etc. (Bolles, R. C. 1975.) We
have certain needs or wants these terms will be used interchangeably, and this causes you to do
certain thing s behavior, which satisfy those needs satisfaction, and this can then change which
needs/wants are primary either intensifying certain ones, or allowing you to move on to other ones.
People seem to have different wants. In chapter two we take a look at various characteristics of
Generation X and Generation starting with their backgrounds (Bolles, R. C. 1975).
Review of the Literature
Generation X
Gen Xers learned independence early in life and turned it into a valuable hallmark as they
progressed in the working world. Just as Gen Xers were about to hit the workforce to make their
mark in the world, the economic decline at the end of the 1980s occurred. ( Managing generation
X: How to bring out the best in young talent, 2001) Suddenly the future looked crowded.
Competition for jobs was tight. The American dream had changed. For the first time in history, this

  • 2. The Importance Of Gun Violence And Gun Laws Mental health and mass shootings seem to go hand in hand, especially when the talk of gun laws comes up.The debate about gun laws getting stricter due to the mass shootings across the country has been stewing for about 18 years now. What sparked the debate was back in 1999, Columbine High School was involved in a mass shooting killing 12. This is one of the many examples that could define the gun violence and mass shootings in our country. As there seems to be a direct correlation between gun violence and mental illness. Now rather than enforcing stricter gun laws in the wake of recent gun violence events, the federal government should fund mental health programs. Due to the outbreak of mass shootings in the country, and the violence associated with gun people want stricter laws.In 1787 the constitution was written and gave us the right to bear arms. When it comes to the restrictions pertaining to guns they are all state based. The country as a whole has very minimal restrictions. That doesn t mean that there are no proposed laws. Some of the laws that congress has voted on are as follows Tighten up background checks... Expand background checks...Prevent suspected terrorists from buying guns(Republican version)... Prevent suspected terrorists from buying guns(Democratic Version) (Phillips). The laws proposed are good in theory, but will most likely never get passed because much of Congress seems to never agree.Terrorism is a problem and it is a dangerous issue, but the real issue is mental health. It is a constitutional right to be able to have a weapon and most states have strict laws. There is a debate surrounding the topic of gun laws and it is whether we should have more or less gun control. It was a very popular subject during the 2016 election. The debate is a very republican vs democrat debate because of the views they have.In the 2016 election, the Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton states, We can have common sense gun reforms that keep weapons out of the hands of criminals and the violently unstable ( Should More Gun Control Laws Be Enacted ).What the message behind this is that there needs to be reform to be stricter to help keep guns out of the criminals and mentally unstable hands. ... • 3. Advantages And Disadvantages Of Lasers The term laser originated as an acronym for light amplification by stimulated emission of radiation. A laser is different from other sources of light in that it emits light coherently1. Spatial coherence provides the advantage as a laser to be focused to a spot, enabling applications such as lasercutting and lithography. Lasers also have high temporal coherence, which allows them to emit lightwith a very narrow spectrum. They can emit a single colour of light. Temporal coherence can be used to produce pulses of light. Laser has a number of applications. They are used in printers, barcode scanners, optical communication, laser surgery, skin treatment, cutting, welding materials, and laser lighting in entertainment2. When it comes to biomedical applications lasers are used in the tattoo removal, laser surgeries, diagnostic procedures, therapeutic uses, and as an adjuvant therapies in several disorders. Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT)... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Tissues preferentially absorb light at varying wavelengths. Light has dual nature as described in Physics. When it is travelling, it is considered to be continuous wave but when it strikes a tissue or a surface it is considered as particle named as Photon: a pocket of energy2. Laser photons that travel through a given tissue with a high absorption coefficient for its specific wavelength will lose energy through absorption easily. Because these photons are readily absorbed, this light travels much shorter distances than those light wavelengths that are not absorbed. The absorption of photons from initial ray of laser eventually degrades the power of light with distance travelled. Absorption coefficient for the various tissues is lesser at the wavelength of light between 600 to 900 nm, which means better tissue penetration is seen in lasers with these ... • 4. The Pros And Cons Of The Social Learning Theory The social learning theory in criminology states that people learn by observing others, then attempt to replicate those behaviors they observed. These behaviors are learned through three different ways according to the social learning theory. The first says that people learn by observing others behaviors, and the rewards they receive by doing them. The second says that people learn from observing others behaviors and the punishment that follows. The third way says that people learn by observing others and receive no consequences for their actions. This paper will attempt to show the pros and cons of social learningtheory in criminology, and how it relates to statistical data. Social Learning Theory and Statistical Proof A 2015/2016 study was conducted by the University of Murcia and was comprised of 68 first year Primary Education students. It focused on the results of students activity and interaction with others in their collaborative learning via a network. In this case, a specific Facebook group was created specifically for the study. The experiment goal was to improve and optimize future experience that constructed improved usage tools, analyze them, and put them into practice (Diaz, Solano, Sanchez, 2017). The researcher was the moderator and a participant, who collected the information through the direct observation process. Consideration must be given that this type of study has limitations, such as the scarce control of strange variables, possible ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Rhetorical Devices In Ground Zero In the essay Ground Zero by Suzanne Berne writes about her very personal experience visiting Ground Zero the place where the twin towers stood prior to the tragedy of 9/11. She uses rhetorical devices throughout her essay to make the piece feel incredibly intimate and emotional to the reader. She specifically uses imagery, tone, simile, and metaphor to explain her experience to Ground Zero in a deeper and meaningful way to her readers. Berne uses rhetorical devices in her essay Ground Zero to let her readers feel the same emotions and imagine the same things she saw on her visit to make the essay very intimate and realistic. In Ground Zero Berne uses many examples of imagery and metaphors to paint a descriptive picture of her surroundings and what she saw to enhance her readers experience. She uses the imagery to make her readers feel as if they were there and make them feel the same feelingsof awareness, and sadness she did. Suzanne achieves this by recalling back to the horrid memories of 9/ll when the skyscraper shrouded in black plastic, the boarded windows, the steel skeleton of the shattered Winter Garden. (Berne 176), By using these extremely explicit and descriptive details Suzanne allows her readers to experience the rude awakening she had when she saw nothing in Ground Zero, but was able to recall the chaos that went on that day. Suzanne lets her readers understand what was going on in her mind , and clearly experience what she was feelingthat day ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Socrates And Machiavelli s Views On Politics Socrates and Machiavelli both lived during times of war and political transition. While both philosophers present a then radical ideology to reform their state, they differed greatly on how to achieve that end: Socrates practiced idealism, while Machiavelli advocated for realism. Their differences of their beliefs are rooted in a conflicting perception of morality. Socratesbelieves morality is based on an individual s attainment of goodness and truth, while Machiavelli concerns himself with a leader s achievement of glory and honor. Because of their moral differences, Socrates would oppose Machiavelli s concept of a prince and the political system he sought to sustain him. To start, Machiavelli s realist morality follows a form of... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Knowing full well that he could have bargained for a lesser sentence by proposing exile, among other punishments, Socrates refused, believing that it would not allow him to lead a life worth living: ...as I am convinced that I never wronged another, I will assuredly not wrong myself. I will not say of myself that I deserve any evil, or propose any penalty...if I say exile what a life should I lead (Apology, p. 72). So far, both Socrates and Machiavelli s moralities are in conflict. If Socrates supported the concept of a prince, he would have heeded Machiavelli s advice by proposing an alternative punishment to escape death. He would have done so because Machiavelli envisioned a proactive prince who would take advantage of any opportunity to come out on top. A Machiavellian prince in Socrates shoes would have proposed self censorship and imprisonment as a plea bargain to the court, or would have escaped prison with Crito, all strategies which Socrates vehemently rejected. To Socrates, the end living did not justify the means giving up his idealistic beliefs. Throughout The Prince, Machiavelli advises that a prince should secure power though a combination of fear, deception, cruelty, cunning, and immoral actions, including the execution of political opponents. These negative traits branch out of Machiavelli s mantra, that it is far safer to be feared than loved if you cannot be both (Prince, p. 151). To combat the immoral perception of ... • 7. Assault On Campus How Should Sexual Assaults On Campus Be Handled? When congress passed the gender equality law known as Title IX (1972) more than 40 years ago, no one expected it to make colleges responsible for handling sexual assault. Title IX was a stealth law aimed at helping women get through the doors of higher education and is now being interpreted to require colleges to investigate and resolve students reports of rape, determining whether their classmates are responsible for assault and, if so, what the punishment should be. McCaskill, who is organizing the three roundtables through her Subcommittee on Financial Contracting Oversight, is teaming up with Senators Kirsten Gillibrand of New York and Richard Blumenthal of Connecticut to better understand how colleges and universities handle sexual assaults on campus, as the Senators consider legislative solutions. Participating in the roundtables will be current or former student survivors, campus safety and sexual assault experts, sex crimes prosecutors, university law enforcement, victim advocacy and response organizations, and university administrators. These roundtables are the next step in our in depth look at the practices our campus communities have in place to protect students and bring perpetrators to justice and how we can fix, strengthen and enforce them, said McCaskill, a former courtroom prosecutor of sex crimes. It s clear we have a lot of work to do to tackle the systemic issues that prevent victims from reporting these crimes, that prevent schools from effectively protecting these survivors, and prevent clear and proper enforcement of federal law. These meetings will help us understand, from those who know best, what more we can do for students, administrators, and law enforcement to give them the tools they need to curb this epidemic. (McCaskill, Paragraph 4) With all of this happening many procedures have been suggested and are all getting tested out. The consequences of sexual assault are potentially very serious. An immediate concern is a physical injury, which may be extensive enough to require medical treatment or hospitalization.11 Pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), including HIV, are additional concerns.12 Emotional damage may be serious and equally requiring of treatment. The first milestone is when the technological feasibility, whether the software can be produced to meet its design specification, is established, and the second milestone is when the software product is available for general release to customers. All developmental costs incurred should be expensed before meeting the first milestone, capitalized between the first milestone and the second, and amortized when second milestone is reached. Microsoft argues that the time between the two milestones is usually too short for the company to capitalize on any significant amount of costs, therefore Microsoft s policy is to expense all research and development costs as they incur regardless of whether the milestones are reached or not. As a result, Microsoft has relatively consistent annual expenses during its software development process compared to companies that capitalize on costs after technological feasibility is established. After the development process is finished, Microsoft s software will start to generate revenue but will not appear on the company s balance sheet because no costs were capitalized. To illustrate the impact of Microsoft s cost capitalization policy, consider a specific software that takes three years to develop, its technological feasibility is established at the end of year two, and the developed software will be on the market for two years. Potassium Iodide Binds to Polysaccharide Molecules through Semipermeable Membrane Introduction: Diffusion is defined at the net movement of molecular substances from an area of high concentration to an area of low concentration. Beyond that, diffusion can further be divided into two different kinds of net movement of substance to opposing concentration gradients, dialysis and osmosis. Dialysis is defined as the separation of small molecules from large molecules as they pass through a semipermeable membrane (Koerner, 1992). When talking about dialysis, it is most often associated with the function or failure of the kidneys ability to process and rid the body of toxins from the blood. It would prove to be fatal if the kidneys failed to remove the roughly 1,500 liters of waste building up in the body (Nordqvist, 2015). This experiment mimics the nature of a selective plasma membrane and with time, monitors to passing of substances in and out of the barrier. • 17. How Did The Collapse Of Capitalism I agree with Karl Marx statement about capitalism. Marx felt that capitalism through industrialization had increased the productive capability or power of the world s economy far beyond what individuals had ever witnessed before. Despite this fact, Marx also felt that capitalism created two different classes of people that were competing with each other on social hierarchy. First, was the bourgeoisie who owned and controlled the means of creating a production, and they also hired wage laborers to distribute their production. Second, was the proletariat, who were mere common workers who owned nothing of a real production or any real power to hired many workers. They had the right through to sell their own labor. Poem at Thirty nine and Piano explore melancholy emotions while Remember does not in my opinion. The reasons I do no completely agree is because the three poems all have hidden feelings and meanings. Poem at Thirty nine shows melancholy emotions because it presents the loss of the persona s father and Piano portrays how D.H. Lawrence misses his childhood. This is probably because at the turn, Rossetti changes her feeling completely and demands everyone to forget her and be happy. The poem Piano by D.H. Lawrence is a sad poem. In my opinion, the poem is tragic because the persona misses his childhood. It could show a desire for D.H. Lawrence to return to his childhood and home. I weep like a child for the past would suggest longing for the past. The persona also feels the lost the comfort for home, the phrases to the old Sunday evenings at home and cosy parlor suggest the persona s feeling for home. This could lead to D.H. As stated earlier, this project also aims to deliver to approximately 50 households bi weekly in Halifax. Ultimately, this project hopes to improve food security in Halifax. However, there are a few evident and visible barriers that exist, amongst these are finding the financial support for this project, and most importantly, the effectiveness of the project. Since this 8 month project is a non profit project that does not aim to sell food, but rather to give food to those who are in need instead, there is no need to apply for a Food Establishment Permit (Nova Scotia, 2015). However, if the project committees wish to organize any fundraisers prior to the start of the project, which includes food booths or mobile canteens that involves selling food at temporary events, it is then necessary that the project committee applies for a Temporary Event Permit (Nova Scotia, 2015). Deп¬Ѓnitions are particularly important in the field because many of the terms associated with the discipline, such as entrepreneurship, entrepreneur and enterprise, are often used interchangeably. For the purpose of this review, the definition of entrepreneurship is synonymous with Gibb (2007), who describes entrepreneurship as sets of behaviours, attributes and skills that allow individuals and groups to create change and innovation, cope with and even enjoy higher levels of uncertainty and complexity (Gibb, 2007, p. 1). While a strong emphasis on economic success and job creation has propelled EE at tertiary level, there has not been an integrated approach in the secondary education sector (OECD, 2015). However, development is underway, with international education institutions facing policy pressure to explicitly embed EE in the curriculum (Mwasalwiba, 2012). A crucial reason for teaching entrepreneurial skills to youth is to help prepare them for employment and, in some cases, influence self employment and choosing entrepreneurship as a career path. However, EE is not about simply creating entrepreneurs and businesses. It is about teaching students enterprise skills, transferable to the real world. I do not agree and I am in firm belief that William Shakespeare is the one who wrote the plays. William Shakespeare as we know him was born in Stratford, a village on the Avon river in the county of Warwickshire in England. We have no actual records of when he was born, however we do have a record of when he was baptized, which was on April 26 1564. He was the eldest surviving son of a glove maker, John Shakespeare and Mary Arden. At the age of eighteen he married Anne Hathaway and until 1592, when he resurfaced again in the London theatre scene. The first point of evidence in the authorship conflict is that Shakespeare s name is on the plays and poems he wrote. Tom Kathman and David Reedy point this out in their book. How We Know That Shakespeare Wrote Shakespeare: The Historical Facts. In 1593, the narrative poem Venus and Adonis was published by Stratford native Richard Field, with a dedication to the Earl of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 38. Coaching Track Essay Coaching Track Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be a successful track coach and coach your protГ©gГ©s to a successful season? Through job shadowing, personal experience, and research, I have found out just how much hard work goes into coaching. Of the more than twenty million Americans who are running today, most who start do so for the wrong reasons, with the wrong attitude, and tend to lose interest after a few weeks or months. Many quit. This is usually because they become concerned with superficial goals such as time and distance and never discover the more profound mental benefits that running offers. (Lilliefors 15) To be a successful coach, the first thing a coach has to do... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When asked why don t they do the same workouts, he said, You guys are different runners, he might need to work on the speed aspect of running, while you already have that part down. You might need to work on the form aspect of running, and he has that down. So why would you guys be doing the same workout, when it would only benefit one of you (Washington). Not only does a coach prepare athletes body but also their minds. A coach prepares the athletes mind by getting them to think about what they are going to be doing before there event comes up. If one were to look at Maurice Green before a race, one would notice that he is very concentrated and thinking about what he needs to do to win. Another example of that would be football or basketball players. Before the game, each athlete has his or her own ritual before game time. That concentration is called getting in the zone. What I do know is how to get you in the best shape of your life so that you ll be stronger and more explosive than you ve ever been. I can also help you prepare your mind for competition (Connolly 14). When one becomes a track coach, one has to make many important decisions concerning their athletes. When accessing an athlete, the coach will have to decide what events will work best for the athlete, and the team. If an athlete gets injured, the coach will have to decide whether or not the athlete should compete ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

A social capital in a classroom setting is defined as having a caring teacher student relationship where the students feel that they are both cared for and expected to succeed. The simple task of just getting to know the students can have such a huge positive impact on the student s social development. If a teacher really wants to create a positive relationship with their students so they can further help their academic development, it would be wise for them to communicate with their students. A key part of communication is actively listening to what the other is saying. Actively listening, in regards to teachers and students, means that the teacher should not just listen to what the students are saying but listen for the meaning behind it. This will develop a trust between the teacher and the student and would help grow a positive relationship (Zakrzewski). When a teacher actively listens to their students, they will become aware of any difficulties that they are having. The Concerning Issue of Air Pollution One of the most concerning issues that has affected the entire world is air pollution, but we do not seemed to see it as a serious problem to take care off until now. Scientist from the World Health Organization released information on their research that was taken place in 2012. About 7 million lives around the world was claimed by air pollutionand more than one third were from fast developing countries from India to Japan, but China was the most concentrated area of air pollution. China has a goal to urbanize very quickly that the cities do not think about planning on proper waste dumping and helping the environment. The mast movement of urbanization will affect the farmers greatly because they rely on the environment to be clean and using the sun to help grown their crops. The World Bank study offered advice to China that building dense cities will be more efficient so the people in China could avoid larger risk of pollution from long commutes traveling and high energy consumption. China did listen to the advice but they still want to reach their goal. China wants about 60 percent of the population to be living in cities by 2020, as of right now they are at 54 percent of their goal. The World Bank and World Health Organizationsaid the greatest threats to human health are burning noxious fuels from coal, wood, and animal waste. The theory posits that people have something wrong in the emotional or psychic life that makes drugs attractive to them. One personality theorist believed that euphoria derived from drugs is an easy way out for immature individuals who lack responsibility, a sense of independence, and the capacity to postpone self indulgent gratification for the sake of attaining long term goals (Ausbel, 1980, pp.4 5). To another personality psychologist drug abuse is a defence mechanism for eliminating feelings of inferiority or inadequacies in some individuals. Low self esteem can initiate drug abuse and causes of low self esteem vary from individuals to individuals however common causes include parental neglect, physical or social deformity, peer rejection and finally poor coping abilities or mechanism that are either socially disvalued or self defeating (Kaplan, 1975, p. 129). Due to the overwhelming amount of the non native pythons in the Everglades (which is expanding to the Florida Keys and beyond) there has been a ban on Burmese pythons and 3 other constrictor snakes. On January 17, 2012 the Federal Wildlife service declared a ban on overseas imports of the snakes as well as interstate imports. That means the snakes are now illegal to bring into the United States as well as just transporting over state lines (BIG snakes, 2012). Indeed, its historical status as the capital of China s first republican regime has been depoliticized. On one hand, the disassociation is achieved through a nationalization of the Nationalist s governmental buildings. By renaming and privatizing the physical marks of Nanjing s link with the politically incorrect past for the Party s bureaucrat and administrative use, the symbol of potential political rebellion is eliminated. On the other, the depoliticization is possible through the mass consumption of the Republican past and thereby making the past exotic and irretrievable. This is exemplified in the renovation of the Republican buildings as the Nanjing 1912, one of the most popular tourist sites in Nanjing, located next to the Presidential Palace, which is also commercialized as a major tourist spot.
