the State Bureau of Investigation, in 2012, approximately 36,000 juveniles were arrested in the
state of North Carolina.
i.Over 11,000 of these arrests were made for index crimes.
1.Over 1/3 of the 11,000 index crime arrests were juveniles under the age of 16. ii. From 2011 to

The way Brent Staples starts the passage off with his past experience with the woman enhances
his credibility because he does not blame the woman for her racist reaction and instead gives
background information to why she reacted the way she did. He states, Women are particularly
vulnerable to street violence, and young black males are drastically overrepresented among the
perpetrators of that violence (Staples, 399). This increases his credibility and makes him more
understanding. Staples is a credible and reliable source because he is a black male and he has
personal experience with the issue. His background shows that he is intelligent and educated

Having to live in California definitely has its perks. On Northern California, you have the
astonishing vineyards and the view of how neatly they are laid out, let alone the wonderful
redwood trees or the large tree wayside known for their heights and large trunks that leave you

Creativity And Imagination And Creativity
Creativity is a form of problem solving that needs to be applied in cases in which neither the form
of the solution nor the path to it are clear (Grolier Educational 143). Creativity surrounds everyday
life because it is innovation and ability to learn the unknown. Although creativity and imagination
are a necessity in society, not everyone can be creative . Certain factors play a role in determining
whether a student could be creative; however, these factors could be unpredictable and not
completely guarantee a child s creativeness. Psychologist have created tests that are able to
understand creativitybetter and study creativeness. Even though results can be inconsistent, patterns
have arose that have interested psychologist trying to determine what factors into creativity. For
example, intelligence does seem to play a role in creativity; however, there is no clear ratio for
someone s intelligence to their creativity, and only a certain amount of intelligence is required to be
creative. Studies have proven that that people with mental illnesses have a higher chance of being
creative than someone who does not. Although, studies have also come to determine that students
in a judge free and diverse environment increased chances of having creativity and imagination.

Memory Does Not Work Like A Video Camera
Memory does not work like a video camera, smoothly recording every detail. Instead, memory is
more of a constructive process. We remember the details that we find most important and relevant.
Due to the reconstructive nature of memory, the assimilation of old and new information has the
ability to cause vulnerable memories to become distorted. This is also known as the misinformation
effect (Loftus, 1997). It is not uncommon for individuals to fill in memorygaps with what they
assume they must have experienced. We not only distort memories for events that we have
observed, but, we may also have false memories for events that never occurred at all. False

second follow up, twenty five percent remembered the false event (Hyman, Husband, Billing 1995).
As this study indicates, memories are more susceptible to modification when the passage of time
allows the original memory to fade. Being lost, however, is not the same as being abused. Another
crucial component involved in the formation of false memories is the imagination inflation. Loftus
(1997) found that the more often an individual imagined an unperformed action, the more likely
they were to later on remember having performed it.
While these studies do not fully exemplify the harmful reality of false memories, they take a step
towards understanding how these false memories might occur in real world settings. As Loftus
(1997) discusses, it is only natural to wonder whether or not this research is applicable to real
world situations such as being interrogated by law officers or in psychotherapy. What researchers
have learned, and can apply to this practical problem is that there are social demands on individuals
to remember and come up with detailed memories. Not only that, but memory construction through
suggestion and imagining events has been shown to be explicitly encouraged when people are

would get would be greater than if you wore a shirt that had money all over it. Upper and lower
classes have significantly influenced the attitudes of Americans with their differences. Both
classes have values that contrast in language and thought. Society has developed a prejudice
towards those of the lower class placing the blame on the individuals who are less fortunate.
Theoretically, breaking the barrier between two mutually exclusive binaries, high class and
lower class, is the challenge we face politically, economically, and socially. Those who belong to
the upper class play a major role in influencing leaders of the local, state, and national
government. Opportunity is a key factor in both the upper and lower class. Coming from a single
mother, who was classified with the lower class, opportunity is a vital factor in the household. My
mother faithfully votes in the presidential elections to ensure her voice will be heard indirectly.
Generally, those of the upper class are dedicated to vote. Failure to vote does not guarantee equal
opportunity for the less fortunate. This goes not to say that the lower class does not also value their
own opinions however, voter efficacy influences their negative thinking of influencing the

5/2018 The Orion Nebula For my report I chose The Orion Nebula, the easiest celestial object to
see at the time I went to the observatory back in March. This nebula harbors more than 3,000 stars

excelled in English and Social Sciences. Trigonometry was not his strong suit, causing him to
