Language Barriers In Home Care
Many communication barriers exist, language barrier is one of the most difficult to conquer. There
is a need to increase awareness of the need for home care agencies to have trained and experienced
translators. Demonstrating the importance of employers to have bilingual individuals on staff.
Working for Traditions Home Care, Inc. the author has encountered languagebarrier issue on several

The Different Factors of Individual Language Learners in Second Language Acquisition
Recently, Second Language Acquisition (SLA) play important role to language learning and
teaching as second language that SLA refers both to the study of individuals and groups who are
learning a language subsequent to learning their first one as young children, and to the process of
learning that language that the additional language is called a second language (L2), even though
it may actually be the third, fourth, or tenth to be acquired. It is also commonly called a target
language (TL), which refers to any language that is the aim or goal of learning (Saville Troike,
2006). According to Gass and Selinker (2008) states that SLA refer to the learning... Show more

Intelligence also has some connection with school performance that there are links between
intelligence and aptitude in classroom, as might be expected (Cook, 2008 cited Genesee, 1976) On
the other hand, intelligence may play a less important role in language learning that focuses more
on communication and interaction (Cummins, 1980). Hence, it is important to keep in mind that
intelligence is complex and that a person has many kinds of abilities and strengths (Brown, 2000;
Johnson, 2008). For the second cognitive variables is aptitude that refers to the ability to learn
quickly (Carroll, 1991) and is thought to predict success in learning or the natural ability to learn a
language that is thought to be a combination of various abilities, such as the ability to identify
sound patterns in a new language, the ability to recognise the different grammatical functions of
words in sentences, Rote Learning ability, and the ability to infer language rules (Richards et.al.,
1995; Cook, 2008). In term of Language aptitude refers to the potential that a person has for
learning languages. This potential is often evaluated using formal aptitude tests (Modern Language
Aptitude Test (MLAT), which predict the degree of success the candidate will have with a new
language. Aptitude tests vary but many include evaluation of ability to manage sounds, grammatical

Essay On Mentoring
These last two weeks of mentoring have been going very smoothly for me. I feel as if my peer
mentoring gears are finally revving up as I m starting to understand how to be a successful peer
mentor. The reason, I think, for my recent success as a peer mentor and the collaboration with the
peer mentoring team is due to the weekly articles. With the weekly articles, I m able to realize
what made previous collaborations in my life so successful and what made the more unfavorable
groups unsuccessful. This has allowed me to focus more on the successful traits by having the
knowledge of it in my mind and steer away from the bad traits. These successful traits would be the
three ingredients for collaboration which is the willingness to grant authority,... Show more content

In all of my past successful collaborations, each member had a mutual respect for each other,
enjoyed each other presence, and worked together in an appropriate manner. To contrast this: in a
previous group that performed not successfully, it was due to internal conflict between my partner
and me. There was an obvious tension between us that made me want to disprove or reject any
idea they would suggest, even if it was good. Although we managed to put aside our differences to
finish the project, not many positive memories remained from that collaboration other than the
negativity and awkwardness between us. I understand how tension in a group could harm the
collaboration as it may lead to the rejection of positive ideas or worse case scenario, sabotaging
the project. Working in an atmosphere of stress definitely does not promote insightful and efficient
learning. To summarize my second reflection, I have learned the importance of the three
ingredients for a successful collaboration. Through elaborating on how each ingredient relates to
an event in my life, I believe it further strengthened my appreciation for both the article and
collaborating in general. I plan to enforce these ingredients in future group projects as it ll allow

Research Paper On David Hasselhoff
It seems in this modern day and age, no one in the entertainment industry can seem to maintain a
good credibility. A prime example of this is David Hasselhoff. David Hasselhoff demonstrates why
having good credibility is an important virtue but can easily and hastily be destroyed. He also
demonstrates that all your actions effect your credibility. David Hasselhoffwas born on July 17,
1952 (age 61) in Baltimore, MD. Some of his first major achievements include starring in many
television series such as The Young and the Restless, Baywatch, Baywatch Nights, and Night Rider.
Hasselhoff also dabbled in drama and theatre. Early in Hasselhoff s life, he believed his career
would lead to Broadway. (Stevens) Hasselhoff gained his credibility by not being caught in
scandals through the beginning of his career. He also gained credibility by starring in many of the
productions stated before. He was known as a trustworthy and credible person for a moderate
amount of time. (Stevens) That is, until he was discovered to be in the same boat as the vast
majority of the music industry.
David Hasselhoff s middle and current years of his life are controlled by alcohol. (Stevens) The
first time the public found out about Hasselhoff s drunken acts, his credibility toke a large negative
hit. In 2002 while Hasselhoff was filming his Baywatch Reunion movie, he released to the public

Theme Of Music In Fantasia 3
Program music is music that is intended to evoke images or convey the impression of events.
From the music, a story was developed to be in Fantasia 3. The characters in the story are
hundreds of trolls along with one tiny fox. It is set in a deep dark, enchanted forest during night
time. The key is Bв™minor which the minor soundcreates a scary and dark mood. This key had
been associated with words such as obscure and gloomy and has also been associated with the
image or mood of night time.. Right as the song starts it begins forte. This grabs the audience s
attention straight away and scares the audience just like the trolls do to the fox. The dynamic
portrays the dominant, scary nature of the trolls right from the first beat. This is also is goes hand
in hand with the timbre. The song begins with a large group of strings and woodwind instruments
playing, depicting all of the trees. They used lower sounding instruments, such as the bassoon and
clarinet, to create a dark and scary sound. This allows for a fuller sound further allowing them to
create scary, gloomy and intimidating atmosphere. The tempo is andante, an easy walkingpace,
which is fairly slow. However, having this tempo allows the portrayal of the trees to be large,
heavy and slow moving. The melody itself has many rests in between the melody patterns. This
helps depict the trolls being so stiff as they change from tree to troll, suggesting that they have been
a tree for too long. This is also supported by the

The Presidential Election Of 1968 Essay
America has always been a proud nation full of nationalism as well. The people, looked up to
their government and their presidents for what to do during the dark days of depression, war,
economic shutdown, and communism. The people knew who their enemies were or at least had
a description. America never truly had a reason to doubt their leaders, those were the people who
lead the nation to victory. Then there was a blow, a crisis that flipped everyone s views and values
upside down. There was an enemy that needed to be defeated, needed to , for this moment was that
the so called enemy was the president himself, Richard Nixon.
He was first seen in the presidential seen was in the 1960 elections against John F. Kennedy,
which he lost. Though he was not discourage and ran again during the presidential election of
1968. After already losing one election, Nixon was worried about the results, but this time, luck
and the electoral college was on his side this time and won with pretty eye opening results. It
wasn t until his re election where Nixon was really worried, he didn t know what to think about
the results, but the only thing he was sure was that he was going to lose and without doing
anything, he was going to watch how bad he was going to lose the presidency again. He already
lost once and he wasn t going to lose another time, especially to George McGovern. Well, he won.
Nixon won in a victorious landslide victory, the biggest victory in American history.[1] In response

Explain The Growth Of Suburbs In The 50 s
The growth of suburbs in the 50 s
The early Suburbs of London, and in addition a few in the United States, were constructed around
the partition of diverse monetary classes. Amid the eighteenth century, rich entrepreneurs in
London started to utilize landholdings around Westminster as an approach to evade the lower
classes inside urban zones. After a century, the same happened in the United Statesaround the
urban areas of New York, Philadelphia, and Boston. Rural areas, for example, these, in view of
class detachment, can best be portrayed as common enclaves. Here the rich could build up groups
that mirrored their own particular qualities and convictions. After World War II finished, numerous

Somewhere around 1945 and 1960, the gross national item dramatically multiplied, developing
from $200 billion to more than $500 billion. A lot of this increment originated from government

advantages and above all the increment in military spending on merchandise like planes and new
advances like PCs all added to the decade s financial development. Rates of unemployment and
swelling were low, and wages were high. White collar class individuals had more cash to invest than
any energy in recent memory and, on the grounds that the assortment and accessibility of buyer

African Americans In John Dunbar s Dancing With Wolves
Many African Americans wanted to stand up for what was right for them as a human being, and
be treated just as equal to white people. In Dancing with Wolves John Dunbar was put to a
station called Fort Sedgwick. The Fort was on the Indians territory and John has never seen an
Indian. He had heard that they were savages, but instead of waiting for the Indians to find him
John went out to find the Indians. When John first met the Indians he didn t really know what to
think. They kind of freaked him out and wasn t sure if they would kill him. After the first time
they met they met more times and John would show them new things like coffee, food, and
trying to speak English and the Indians would do the same. After awhile John was close to the
Indians and was always with them and they gave him the name Dances with Wolves due to a
wolf always by the Fort he was at. Before the 19th century black people have always been slaves

a few of those reasons are is it contains offensive language, promotion of a religious viewpoint,
unsuited to an age group, and many more. Lots of people and organizations have and still attempt

Assessing The Population Of 11 Assets
Listed or Pending Contract Assets
Lastly, when reviewing the population of 11 assets in a listed or pending contract status as of
February 28, 2017:
2 of 11 (18%) have days on market of more than 60 days
2 listed assets have a variance (current list price as a percentage of the initial list price) outside of
what RMS believes is an acceptable range
No assets have days on market of more than 100 days
3 assets have reductions of more than 10% since listing
When reviewing days on market together with the historic offers on the property, in our view
many of these have a list price that still appears high, as suggested by the days on market, low
offers (compared to the list price) and/or an ongoing lack of activity.
Based on ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Because Altisource cannot be directed by RMS to set the list price of an asset, RMS attempts to get
Altisource to recognize assets that are listed too high and to make more appropriate adjustments
when necessary to help generate activity and offers.
RMS continues to review assets where we believe the list price set by Altisource is high relative
to our opinion of market value on those that RMS has reviewed. On listed assets with DOM of
more than 60 days, RMS and Altisource discuss the list price and agent feedback to better
understand the issues and RMS targets these assets for review every 2 weeks.
Another ongoing observation is the frequency of assets in pending contract that fall out because
the buyer fails to return the purchase agreement. This trend continues to be high. Although
Altisource does not provide statistics regarding overall pending contracts that fall out, in our
view, the number is higher than other REO vendors we work with. We believe this likely relates
to the process by which Altisource sells REO assets on the HUBZU website, where there is no
economic penalty to the bidder if they place an offer on a property that is accepted, but
subsequently fails to deliver an executed purchase agreement. In a traditional sale transaction, the
executed purchase agreement and earnest money deposit are the offer and are delivered up front

This is definitely a book that anyone who appreciates and cares about the present day would

Loyalty And Chivalry Throughout The Middle Ages
Throughout the Middle Ages, wealth and status granted by God was the main defining feature of
power within a hierarchical status, yet within all upper levels of society, the concepts that defined
individuals and groups were that of honour, and military prowess. These two concepts also
incorporate ideas of manners and morals for those of higher standard within society to practice. All
together this can be incorporated into the idea of chivalry, a word and idea commonly used within
medieval Europe to describe a set of values with a large emphasis on upholding high social and
moral standards, as well as devout loyalty to God and liege. However within the concept of

Most knights and those with education within the realm of chivalry were brought up to be
traditionally religious, often enacting the pious and obedient role ascribed to them as sons of
Holy Mother Church, showing how spiritual ideas of Catholicism and chivalry shared virtues
important to both the clergy and nobility. Zealousness was also an impact chivalry had on
medieval society due to the ties almost all knights had with the Roman Catholic faith, as during the
periods of crusades many people used chivalry as justification and defence to support the religious
backings behind these holy wars, and through increased zealousness, the impact religion plays on
chivalry is clearly visible. Yet the most zealous task a knightcould undertake would be that of a
crusade, it was not only fighting for honour but the trial by combat against a thoroughly demonized
opponent merited more divine blessing that ordinary fighting at home. Furthermore many knights
justified the intensive labour and tasks as [having] been assigned to them by divine will, outlining
the attitude surrounding those following a chivalrous code. Ultimately it was the devout religious
code that causes knights and monarchs to a life of devout social activities, and physical labour in

ticket for Cold Spring please. Emily said quickly, the lady in the ticket booth gave her her ticket
and directed her to the bus platform. Emily quickly and quietly walked over to the bus and took
her seat. A few hours later the bus stopped and announced its destination, Emily got off the bus
and walked quickly down the street looking for any opportunity to get somewhere to sleep
without getting noticed. She walked past a TV shop and in the window the TV was playing.
The same news playing from earlier that day, she wished every thing would just disappear and
leave her alone for at least one day. She eventually found a small quiet motel, she got a nice

walked into the bathroom and got her hair damp and applied the hair dye. While waiting for her

1.3 Problem Identified
Flash Mob is the activity that conducted by the community which assemble in public area and
make a unique and attractive movement. But, in fact Flash Mob could lead curiosity of a people.
We have been introducing with modern social media such as Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube.
Flash mobs use viral marketing techniques or simply word Flash Mobs use social media and
technology to aid the viral process, where viral marketing would involve an effort to spread an
idea, knowledge and information by encouraging people to pass on the message that companies or
organization want to spread. Social media such as Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube become tools in
spreading the initial plan for a flash mob.
There is an aspect of Flash Mob that makes it productive as a promotional tool. If we are looking
at the number of participant and also the number of the viewer of Flash Mob, it can conclude that
Flash Mob as promotional tools was success to encourage people. Based on description above, it
attracts my curiosity in studying how does Flash Mob and Viral Marketing play a role as a
promotion tool.

Longfellow Creek
Longfellow creek is the second largest bearing creek in Seattle. Every year, salmon return to the
creek but few make it all the way to spawning due to the threatened habitat. This is one of many
reasons why they need our help. Restoring the habitat along the creek as well as adjacent
greenspaces will help to improve the water quality and provide the appropriate habitat for the
salmon to come (True, 2005). Improving the habitat will help to maintain healthy and thriving
forests. They are important to our community because they absorb and filter rain water, produce
clean oxygen, provide living spaces for wildlife, and create a place for people to connect with the

Gender Inequalities Around The World
After doing research on gender inequalities around the world, I realized how bad a lot of countries
are to women. Looking at the countries that have gender inequalities, I can see why they are not
moving towards sustainability. In this essay, I will be providing detailed examples of how different
countries treat their women and wives.
In some countries, women and wives don t have the right to travel without their husband or their
closest male relative s permission. In Egypt, Bahrain, and Syria, it is the husband s right to stop
their wives from traveling out of the country. All the husband needs to do is file a complaint at the
airport to prevent his wife from leaving the country. The husband doesn t even need to give the
airport any reason for why he doesn t want his wife traveling. In other countries like Iraq, Jordan,
Morocco, Oman, and Yemen, the husband needs to provide written permission for their wives to
travel. Lastly in Saudi Arabia, for an unmarried woman to travel they must have written permission
from their closest male relative. This written permission is for leaving the country or traveling on
public transportation between the different parts of the country.
In South Asia and Sub Saharan Africa, forty percent of women are married before their 18th
birthday. The women don t have the right to choice their husbands. Now in Pakistan, women s
marriages are arranged. The women are expected to accept this arrangement. If any women were to
refuse their marriage

Cleopatra And The Ptolemaic Dynasty
Cleopatra was an influential part of ancient civilizations because she changed the history of the
Ptolemaic dynasty, she reigned beside Julius Caesar, and restored power in Egypt with Mark Antony.
The Ptolemaic Dynasty bred some of the most memorable people in ancient history. Including the
Egyptian Queen who is above all else remembered the most for her extravagant beauty and way of
ruling, even though it is not certainly known what she looked like given that there was never an
actual accurate depiction of what she looked like. Cleopatra VII, the daughter of the Egyptian King

Egypt was economically at its lowest when Mark Antony invited Cleopatra to Tarsus in 41 B.C.
Keeping this in mind imagine how crazy it would have been for Cleopatra to flaunt money

already laid out portrayed herself as the Greek goddess Aphrodite to impress Mark Antony
enough to want her. Although many people felt she was being too promiscuous towards a man
who was already married; Cleopatra knew she would have to think with his mindset in order to
attract his upmost attention. Mark Antony impressed by her beauty and her riches decided to
make her his former mistress and spent the winter of 41 B.C. with her in Alexandria. Not being

Speech On Becoming A Firefighter
Becoming a firefighter requires specific qualities such as strength, endurance, and bravery.
Those who inspire to become a firefighter must devote their time and well being to those in crisis.
A firefighter does not just hang around the station all day, instead you will have to field many
calls. When you are not working you will have to be helping out around the station. The station
does not just stay clean itself you will be assigned chores and duties you will have to follow. Being
in physical shape is also a main part of being a firefighter.
Now there is also types of fires firefighters need to know about. The first type of fire there is class A
fire. A class A fire are the most ordinary and basic type of fire. They are ordinary combustible fires
like wood, paper, cloth, trash, and plastics. Class B fires are caused by flammable liquids.
Flammable liquids for example are things like gasoline, petroleum oil, and paint. Class B fires
also include flammable gases. The gases that are in class B are things like propane and butane.
Some people might mistake fires caused by cooking oils and grease as a class B but that is not
true at all they are not considered in the category. Class C fires involve electrical equipment.
Electrical equipment such as motors not just car motors, transformers, and appliances. If you
remove the power from any of the things listed it will no longer be able to be consider as a class C
fire it will get reclassified as a different group of fire class.

published in the national geographic magazine. Steve Mccurry took a picture in 1985 that swept
the nation. The picture was that of a teenage Afghan girl giving a stern look to the camera. He
had captured the tragedy of war in Afghanistan and the beauty of resilience all in one. Readers of
National Geographic at the time were taken aback by the picture, as it is so powerful. Multiple
years later, Mccurry began a quest to find the girl in the picture. After an incredible amount of
research and probing, Mccurry found her. He asked if he could capture her picture and she gave

The Four Characteristics Of Emotional Intelligence
Emotional Intelligence (EQ or EI) is a term created in 1990 by two American university
professors, Peter Salovey and John D. Mayer. Daniel Goleman popularized Emotional Intelligence
in his book that was published in 1995. Goleman was a science writer for the New York Times and
he specialized in brain and behavior research. Emotional Intelligenceis defined as the ability to
recognize, understand and manage your own emotions and influence the emotions of others. This
means that we are aware that emotions can drive our behavior and impact others either positively or
negatively. Emotional Intelligenceincludes three skills: emotional awareness; the ability to harness
emotions and apply them to tasks like thinking and problem solving; and the ability to manage
emotions. According to Goleman, cognitive intelligence does not guarantee business success but
emotional intelligence . The four characteristics of emotionally intelligent people are self
awareness, self management, social awareness and social skills. In 1998, Goleman published a
book called Working with Emotional Intelligence where he defined emotional intelligence saying
that it consist of 25 skills, abilities and competencies. Compared to Intelligence Quotientor IQ is a
score received from standardized assessments designed to test intelligence. It is one s ability to
learn, understand and apply information to skills sets. It includes logical reasoning, word
comprehension and math skills. Other people debate that IQ

The Good The Bad And Your Business
In The Good, the Bad, and Your Business, Jeffery Seglin explains that managers in today s business
world must not only deal with situations pertaining to the workplace, but also make more
complicated decisions regarding their employees personal lives.
Seglin explains that the best managers treat those below them on the corporate ladder not as
subordinates, but as equals. He cites a Gallop Organization study which revealed that employees
who feel cared about, that their opinion matters, and that their companies are family friendly will
not only be happier, but will perform better. This being said, a manager merely saying he values his
employees is not sufficient; rather, the employees must sense that there is substance to the manager
s claims. Similarly, Seglin references Kenneth Goodpaster, who believes that companies have a
moral obligation to avoid harming their employees directly, help employees in need, and respect the
rights of their employees. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Effects Of Energy Subsidies On The Consumer, The...
Abstract Subsidies are one of the most powerful policy tools in the hands of the government. They
have been used for decades to achieve a range of economic, social and environmental objectives.
Indeed, one of the most important and challenging responsibilities of a government is allocating
financial resources to achieve public good. This paper analyses the effects of energy subsidies on
the consumer, the economy and the energy industry. Energy subsidies are any government actions
that support the cost of energy production in terms of reduction in prices paid by consumers and
increase in revenues to energy producers (World Bank, 2010). These investments aim to improve
energy access by making prices more affordable, shielding domestic consumers from international
price volatility and supporting energy intensive industries (The International Institute for
sustainable development, 2012).In practice, energy subsidies come in different forms. (The IEA,
2002) and (UNEP, 2008) identify the following typical mechanisms by which governments support
the production and consumption of energy: Direct financial transfers: grants to consumers, grants
to producers, low interest or preferential loans and government loan guarantees; Preferential tax
treatment: tax credits, tax rebates, exemptions on royalties, duties or tariffs, reduced tax rates,
deferred tax liabilities and accelerated depreciation on energy supply equipment; Trade restrictions:
tariffs, tariff rate import quotas

Persuasive Essay On What Is Love
Love is an insane emotion that can t be reasoned with; it is an exhausting, exhilarating, surprising,
heartbreaking battle that will continue on until the feeling of love is lost. There is no correct
way to reckon or justify the outrageous decisions that occur when the feeling of love is present.
Love is more than a feeling, more than a four letter word, more than an emotion that gets
expressed on a daily basis. There are people in this world that search their entire lives trying to find
love. People knowingly and willingly put themselves through vigorous trial and error, no matter the
pain and the heartbreak, no matter the disappointment, to hopefully find the feeling deep in the pit
of their stomachs that makes them want to go crazy. They try and pray for the feeling that can stop
them in the middle of their tracks and change their entire outlook on one s future and the supposed
fate that they thought they were meant to have.
Love is like hope, it is the most dangerous weapon if one is equipped. History has shown that
when a man is in love, he will conquer battlefields and triumph to be with the woman who has
his heart and soul (Battle of Troy). Love is that double edged sword, it s the need to feel passion
and obsession and drive, while possibly taking the risk of having your soul ripped out and be
forever different due to the unspoken damage that gets left behind. Love is not only represented
by two people that find each other, Les Miserables proves love can be

Introduction
This paper will analyze Shriners Hospital for children, a non profit hospital system owned by
Shriners International, through the theoretical lens of Bolman and Deals Leadership Frameworks
(1997). This paper will define structural and symbolic aspects of the organization, analyze strengths,
weaknesses, opportunities and threats through structural assessment to identify growth and risk
potential, and propose possible solutions for identified issues.
Shriners Hospitals for Children is a non profit hospital system that maintains 22 hospitals for
children in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. 18 of the hospitals provide orthopedic
specialization; three hospitals focus on burn care, and one hospital offers burn, spinal, and
orthopedic care. The first hospital was opened in Shreveport Louisiana, in 1922 by Shriners
International, a fraternal organization for men. The hospitals provide cutting edge care for a variety
of condition, actively engage in research for cures to childhood diseases and improvement to
orthopedic and burn treatments (Schumaker, 2005).

The Importance Of Identity
Identity is a word that can have many multiple meanings depending on who you ask. The word
identity can have a different meaning for an immigrant, it can be influenced by childhood events,
politics, and it can cause you to question what do you call home. To some identity means who you
are, where you are from, and what you believe. Tan Le, an immigrant from Vietnam, shares her
story of immigrating to the United States. She explains that the person she is today is based on
the lesson she learned from her journey. Tan believes that if you lose your identity you lose your
sense of integrity and who you are. Next, Andrew Solomon states that some people can see your
identity as an illness or condition. He talks about how being gay or having illness such as Down
Syndrome or deafness are considered identities. Elif Shafak argues in her TED talk that people can
become encircled by their identity. She states the cultural belongings are fluid and beautiful. Lastly,
Pico Iyerexplains that identity starts with one question: Where do you come from? He believes
that home is where you find and create your identity. After listening to the TED talk on identities,
the speakers arguments were convincing. I ve learned that who you are and your identity depends
on many factors. Tan Le s identity is shaped on her journey to the United States. She explains that
she felt like an imposter because during her time in Melbourne she visited expensive houses and

Elizabeth Drew Bartow Stoddard
The 19th century Victorian era was a bleak time for public health, and even more so for soon to
be mothers. It was not a concern for governments, and the rate of death per 1000 births was
staggering (175 per 1000 births, and that was without account for race and class differences). In
a time where motherhood coupled with being a woman, being a woman often meant grief. This
birthed the trend of the female poetess of the Victorian era, and the child elegy became a
common way to express this grief. Elizabeth Drew Bartow Stoddard was no exception to the
trend, or the child death count. In her poem One morn I left him in his bed , Stoddard uses vivid
imagery, unreliable narration, musical sound devices, rhythm and meter, as well as a sorrowful
tone to convey her anguish: the anguish of a woman unable to cope with her son s death and is
forced to face the reality of a world where he is not alive. At the beginning of the poem we are
faced with the morbid scene of a child being prepared for burial; however if it were not stated in
the previous stanza that the child is in fact dead, the audience might not immediately pick up on it,
thinking he might simply be sleeping with flowers in his hair, and on his breast/ little hands
together prest typical romanticized imagery one might see in a child elegy. Without even a pause

Lifting of Corporate Veil in Tort Cases in Pursuit of Justice
Lifting of Corporate Veil in Tort Cases in Pursuit of Justice
Introduction
Limited liability has been the prevailing rule for corporations for more than a century. It creates
incentives for excessive risk taking by allowing companies to avoid the full costs of their activities.
Strict application of this rule in all cases would lead to inflexibility and injustice, particularly in tort
cases. Therefore, as suggested by Stephen Griffin in the interests of justice and to prevent subsidiary
companies being used as convenient risk takers for their parent...the [corporate] veil must not
become immovable. [1] On the other hand, basing justice as the sole ground for veil lifting would
undermine commercial certainty. The facts of each case should ... Show more content on

Avoidance of Excessively Risky Behaviour
The prevalence of mergers and acquisitions movement nowadays has converted many large
corporations into highly leveraged firms. In order to maximize cash flow, these firms have a strong
incentive for excessive risk taking activities, which drastically increase the exposure to tort liability.
Carcinogens in the workplace, environmental harms to the surrounding and hazardous products are
all sources of massive tortious liability. [9] Very often, business firms would reorganize their
structure to exploit limited liability to evade tort claims, such as deliberately placing hazardous
activities in under funded subsidiaries. However, business ethics is a prominent contemporary
concept and issue in commercial context. In terms of public policy and public interest, it is of
paramount importance to deter companies from taking excessively risky activities, which cause
personal injury to innocent victims.
Tort Victims and Business on Unequal Footing
Tort victims are those who may suffer physical injury or harm. On the other hand, parent companies
of its defendant subsidiaries only suffer commercial

A Brief Note On Security Tactics Adoption And A Security...
IV.CRITICAL ANALYSIS
Ryoo, J. et al. was successful in investigating the degree of security tactics adoption and clearly
identified a security gap between the design and implementation of the software.
The authors followed a manual process to study security vulnerabilities in open source software.
Processes like code review or searching for security keywords in the documentation or source code
does not prove if the software protects its users from malicious intrusions or leaking private data.
The authors searched for keywords like security, authenticate, authorize, cipher, encrypt etc. in the
source code of the selected 53 Open Source Software to see if any of these security tactics appear as

To identify such critical bugs, there has to be an automated testing framework that tests common
programming errors, data leakage and other ways of malicious intrusions into the application. This
paper is very limited to identifying the rate of usage of the security tactics in open source software.
Well documented and implemented security policies are very important to maintain the quality and
reliability of any software application.
V.OUR CONTRIBUTION
The following are some of our recommendations that should be considered when deploying or using
any open source software.
A.Notification
Getting users to update to the lasted version of the application has been a long lasting issue with
Open Source Software. The main reason for this was attributed to the lack of awareness about the
security update. All the security patches to the application are pushed to consumers through such
updates.
Maintenance is very important to maintain the quality and reliability of the product. In the software
industry updates are a form of maintenance.
We suggest Open source software community to start notifying consumers about the update. This
can done by assigning a unique identification for each of its users and mandatorily collecting their
contact information. Subscribing users to the respective open source

Little Skate Application Essay
The Little Skate, Leucoraja erinacea, is a species of skate in the family Rajidae. They re also
somewhat populous in Rhode Island s Narragansett Bay, which surrounds the island I call home.
The skate population has been increasing in numbers since 1970 and is now one of the
predominant animals in bottom fish communities. But marine education hasn t expanded along
with the skate population, and now, more often than not, they are mistaken for stingrays. I see
this firsthand at the Save the Bay Exploration Center and Aquarium where I volunteer kids and
their parents alike confuse them with their larger cousins. Every weekend, I spend several hours
observing these beautiful, underappreciated, often mislabeled creatures. And each time I see a
child shrink away from a skate out of fear that it is a stinging ray, I m given the opportunity to
teach someone about the marine ecosystem in their own town, in hope that they ll want to help

One way I do this that comes easy to me, is through community service. Volunteering is my
attempt to make a difference within my community. Being a leader and role model is especially
important when it comes to treating the world around us as the important and beautiful place that
it is. That is exactly why I spend my Saturdays teaching five year olds about skates and hermit
crabs. In hope that they will take what they learn and become environmentally conscience. They ll
think about the spider crabs and seahorses before they litter, or the sea robins before they pollute.
This is my own simple way of being an environmental

Yasukuni Shrine Research Paper
Yasukuni Shrine: The truth free of Chinese and Western Bias. Have you actually wondered what
Yasukuni Shrine is really about? Do you wonder if the biased Chinese and American views on
Yasukuni actually defy it? Well look no further! The Yasukuni Shrine s purpose is to honor those
who died in Japan s Wars, not to start conflict. Countries like China, and South Korea criticize
Japanese Politician s Visits to Yasukuni because they fell victim to Japan s Aggressive Military
Expansion. The Chinese Criticize Yasukuni because they have no knowledge on the truth of the
shrine and only think it s for war. So those Chinese Communist imbeciles can go back and cry to
their pathetic Father Karl Marx, because Mao Zedong killed more people than... Show more content

In May 1931, King Rama VII of Thailand or Prajadhipok, visited Yasukuni Shrine. In October
1931, Charles Lindbergh also visited Yasukuni. More people from different countries visited, people
from the United States, France and Germany. With Japan s expansion into Asia, the invading
Japanese did so and so considered war crimes. With WWII happening in 1939, Japan was
planning to expand its territorial reach, into the US. They would attack Pearl Harbor and
capture Hawaii, being easily able to invade the mainland US. In December 1941, Operation Tora
Tora Tora! had begun, with the Japanese bombing Pearl Harbor. A few days after the attack, the
US declared war on Japan. With Japan s defeat in 1945, the war crimes trials had begun. Japanese
High Ranks were arrested and charged with war crimes and crimes against humanity. In 1945, the
pitiful American General Headquarters planned to burn down Yasukuni Shrine and replace it with
a dog race course, but was stopped. In 1978, 14 so classified as Class A War Criminals have been
secretly enshrined. Among them include, Prime Minister Hideki Tojo, and many other so called
War Criminals which are painted over by Pathetic American Biased Propaganda that make Yasukuni

Reflective Essay About Self Love
I cried writing this post. I went back and forth with myself about this topic because it is an
extremely sore spot for me. And unlike my previous posts, I do not have the answers. I don t
have the exact solution to heal the pain. It hurts. It has always hurt. I don t know if it will ever
stop hurting. Well, recently, on the way to work, one of J. Cole s strongest songs, Breakdown
started to play. I immediately felt the tears starting to form and something told me, skip the
song, dummy! But, I didn t. I listened to the lyrics and I cried. I decided to use Cole s lyrics to
help with the organization of my thoughts. I hope with sharing my pain, I will touch other
women who are struggling or have struggled with self love due to the absence of a mother/father.
Also, any advice you have for me please share. So many things you could have told me And
saved me the trouble or lettin my mistakes show me I feel like you barely know me And that s a
shame cause our last name is the same That blood type flowin through our veins is the same At
the age of three, I was legally adopted by my biological relatives. I wish I could pinpoint the reason
why our relationship was so rocky but I can t... we never saw eye to eye. I always felt like the
burden in our home and love was shown in an extremely flawed way. I am not an ungrateful
person and I do appreciate what was done for myself and sibling. Not every day do you run into a

Photogate and using the slope of a velocity vs time graph to verify the acceleration of the Earth s
gravity (9.8 m/sВІ). Procedure: In this lab, a piece of clear plastic with evenly spaced black bars,
called a picket fence, was dropped repeatedly through a Photogate that was connected to the
Capstone software in the computer. The software s interface allowed the picket fence s
acceleration and velocity to be recorded and graphed. The Photogate has a beam of light used to
detect an object passing through. Upon dropping the picket fence, the software s interface will

Lenski, Karl Marx, Max Weber, And Emile Durkheim
Society is defined as people living together within a community that shares customs. Many
pioneers of sociology have conducted research on different areas of this phenomena, however
this paper will focus solely on the view of four sociologists namely; Gerhard Lenski, Karl Marx,
Max Weber, and Emile Durkheim. We begin by reviewing the works of Lenski, where his focus
was on how society have change over the years with technology being the main reason
Sociocultural evolution. He explains with the introduction or adoption of new technology
caused society entire way of life to changes and at a rapid pace. Lenski further went on to discuss
into details the different societies and as there are categorised based on their technology. The
first type is Hunting and gathering society, this is where simple tools such as; knife made of
stone, spears, arrows, etc. are used in the acquiring or resources. Food are usually not sufficient
to supply large number of population, therefor people live in small groups. Age and gender
plays a huge role in this society as adult males get the hard work done (Hunting), adult females
do the gathering of vegetation, and the elder and young help as they can. They mainly focus is to
survive, and figure how they are going to get the next meal causing them usually to wonder from
place to place searching for food. Basically, everyone is equal and they all live the same, except for
their spiritual leader who is highly

Why Was The Bolshevik Revolution Successful
There are numerous reasons why the Bolshevik revolution was successful, the most important
reason to why the revolution of October 1917 was successful was due to the role of Lenin, this is
not to say however that he was the only cause, this essay will explain why the Bolshevik takeover
succeeded.
A predominant factor in the Bolshevik takeover s victory was the weakness and poor decisions of
the provisional government (PG), the provisional government was weak due to numerous defeats in
the war and the fact that they did not change how the country was run after the February Revolution
which removed the Tsar from power, this meant that the Provisional Government was merely seen
as the Tsar with a different face. This created discontent towards... Show more content on

This is firstly because he was the one to decide that the Bolsheviks would try to stop the war,
which was their most popular policy, especially after the brutal failure of the June Offensive. If
it was not for this then the Bolsheviks would have not had the support of as many soldiers or
workers. The second reason why Lenin was the most important cause was due to the fact that he
turned the Bolsheviks into a brand with him as a figurehead and with simple, easy to understand
slogans such as Peace, Land and Bread appealed to the masses as they could easily identify what
the Bolsheviks supported and why it appealed to them which in turn gained their support. Lenin
also created the Red Guard which was very important to the victory as they were the well trained
army that fought for the Bolsheviks and it was only with them that they could overcome the PG.
Lenin is also important as he was the person who convinced the Bolshevik central committee
(controlled by Trotsky) to vote for a revolution , if it was not for this there would have been no
Bolshevik revolution in October 1917. Therefore Lenin is more important because he created the
resources and gathered the support needed to overthrow the PG by exploiting the PG s weakness ,
like keeping the war, and Lenin is more important than Trotsky because without the resources and
support which Lenin had gained, he would have not been able to pull of his master

Parliamentary And Presidential System Of Government
Parliamentary and Presidential System of Government: An Analysis of Modus Operandi,
Characteristics and Effects in a Political Community. A presidential system of government is one
in which power lies in the hands of an elected individual known as the head of state and the head
of government as well. It is composed of checks and balances of which power is separated into
other tiers of government such as the legislative and judicial arms of government. The legislative is
broken down into upper and lower chamber elected by the people. The cabinetis primarily appointed
by the president upon emergence into power. A parliamentary system of government on the other
hand has the office of the head of government and head of statedivided among the Prime minister
and the monarch often represented by the governor general respectively. The parliament consists of
legislatures from the upper and lower chamber. Its cabinet which are members of the political
executive is also appointed by the prime minister and they are both answerable to the parliament, as
parliament are answerable to the people. In this paper we are going to examine the characteristics
of both system of government, their impacts in our society as well as the benefits and detriments of
both systems of government, then we draw conclusion on which system is the most preferable. A
presidential systemof government supersedes a parliamentary system of government because of its
role in ensuring adequate separation of powers

The Battle Of Algiers ( A Reenactment Of Algeria s Fight...
An imperative aspect of art is that it is open to interpretation and analysis. If the piece of art is
significant, it will be thought or emotion provoking and uncensored. It is not the role of art take
cautious steps in an attempt to leave its audience unoffended, but rather to embrace diversity of
thought and creativity to portray untainted ideas. Filmmaking being a form of art follows the same
guidelines and thus shapes society through its objectionable and often jarring subject matter. The
Battle of Algiers (a reenactment of Algeria s fight for independence from France from 1954 to
1957) was a politically motivated piece that was banned in France upon its debut. The lifelike

Without the brutal violence in American History X we would not be able to take an emotional
journey of discovering a lost man as he regains his purpose after killing two people under the
influence of a neo Nazi gang. The hatred towards everyone as experienced in Taxi Driver is
essential to understanding the raging emotions flowing through Travis s mind as he goes on a
killing spree. On the opposite end of the spectrum, without the provocative homosexual romance
in Brokeback Mountain, the passionate strain of keeping a forbidden love covert would not be
felt. Since homosexuality had not been greatly explored in film this way before, Brokeback
Mountain generated a confusion of empathy for a love that society would not allow, as well as
for those that were betrayed by it. The audience is at war for and against both sides (the lovers
and those that do not want the lovers together) in some aspect throughout the movie and the
controversy carried into real life. According to the Los Angeles Times, people that identified with
the cowboy role portrayed by the two main characters were deeply offended by the homosexual
association, which they believed tarnished their cowboy image. The article also says the film s
amorous relationship angered homophobic people across the nation, but it also, contrarily, made
others more empathetic towards members of the gay community s feelings and desires (Brady).

Media s Impact On Society And The Individual
Despite there being numerous sources and names for media and information, large conglomerate
companies have emerged over the last several decades that own a majority of media outlets in the
United States and throughout the world. These conglomerates operate in an assortment of business
opportunities. The big six as they are commonly referred, own up to 90% of the American media
market share (Lutz), and that number is growing. The big six companies include G.E., News
Corporation, Disney, Viacom, Time Warner, and CBS. To demonstrate this growth of consolidation,
that same 90% of the American media was owned by fifty independent companies in 1983 (Lutz).
These figures are outstanding, as they relate and intersect with Stuart Hall s idea of... Show more

For example, the conglomerate Comcast corporation is a cable television provider, internet
service provider, phone service provider, the owner of various broadcast stations like NBC and
the Spanish network Telemundo, the owner of film networks like Universal pictures, and the
owner of internet sites like Hulu and Fandango. Comcast even owns the Universal Studios theme
parks and a professional hockey team, the Philadelphia Flyers. This is just a short list of the
various businesses and services that a conglomerate, like Comcast, may own. As of 2017, Comcast
reported a whopping $146 billion dollar market cap (Selyukh). By further understanding these
motives, one is able to realize the role that media plays in their daily lives and the influence that
they may have that extends outside the television broadcast.
The power that these conglomerates hold may cause given information and facts to be distorted,
possibly in order to better benefit themselves and their own corporate interests. This information
highlights Hall s ideal of how knowledge and power intersect. Hall brings up the idea of how there
is this Gap of representation, a figurative gap between the actual facts and how the media represent
it (Hall). This gap between representation and the true facts must be measured by the individual,
when he or she may think something is reported inaccurately or in a biased mannered. In order to
understand this gap that may be presented by

Dissociation Theory Of Hypnosis
What is hypnosis? Hypnosis is when a person is in a highly susceptible state of consciousness
where they are open to suggestion. Typically, it is used to help relax/calm a person, control
/alleviate pain, and recover from whatever they re experiencing. Being susceptible to suggestion
makes it easy to be affected mentally and physically. The hypnotist uses this to guide you or
influence you into a certain situation. When being hypnotized, the subject is in charge and can t be
forced against their will. Which means people can only be hypnotized if they re willing to be.
The Social cognitive theory of hypnosis is a form of role playing where people who are hypnotized
aren t in a different state of consciousness, but are simply acting the way others expect them to in
that situation (Sarbin Coe, 1972). The Dissociation theory of hypnosis is a dissociation of
consciousness where the mind is split in two parts (1991; Hilgard Hilgard, 1994). One part of the
mind is conscious and the other part of the mind is the hidden observer . ... Show more content on

Pros and Cons of Installing Closed-Circuit Television...
Installation of surveillance camera systems as a way to deter crimes or criminal acts has gained
traction in recent years. In some countries, surveillance camera systems also known as closed
circuit television (CCTV) cameras have also installed in educational institutions as a security
measure to address fears for the safety of the students (Hope, 2004; Corpuz, 2011). The trend,
however, did not stop. From halls and corridors, some education institutions have started to install
cameras inside the classrooms as a means not just to monitor the teachers, but also to address
classroom misbehavior (Shepherd, 2009). This paper seeks to cover the possible positive and
negative effects of installing CCTV systems inside the classrooms.... Show more content on

Grant (2004) said educators want video cameras in classrooms to address the issue of violence in
schools. Often teachers who are attacked have no way of proving their claims because pupils who
witness the incidents fail to back up their stories. Video camera footage could be used to
substantiate teachers versions of events as well as to deter pupils from launching the attacks
(Grant, 2004). In the Philippines, the installation of cameras inside the classrooms is seen in a
similar light. As cited in Grafil (2011), University of Santo Tomas security chief Joseph Badinas
said the cameras can be used to track people who are doing something suspicious. The reason
behind the installation of CCTV systems in the classrooms can be attributed to the triadic
reciprocality principle of the social cognitive theory (Bandura, 1986). Under this principle, human
life is consisted of a perpetual series of interactions among the environment, their individual
behavior, and personal cognitive variables like thoughts, beliefs, and perceptions. These three
constructs interact and influences each other reciprocally. Applying the

Relationship Between Birth Order And Personality
Birth order and personality have been a topic of discussion throughout the years with many well
known psychologist like Freud and Adler doing research on them. Some research that has been
conducted shows there is no correlation between birth order and personality. Then there is other
research that states in fact birth orderdoes affect personality and intelligence. I believe birth order
shows distinctive characteristics in regard to firstborns and their achievement level in comparison
to their younger siblings. The media article we picked was from an online journal called The
Atlantic. The article in summary talked about how two of the studies they looked at showed no
resemblance with birth order and personality traits. Beck states, birth order is similar to a
horoscope because each child is classified as a specific personality trait. With this article, The Order
On Personality And Achievement Within Families they did multiple studies and found there is a
relationship between the two. In study number 2 they found that firstborns were ranked more
conscientious and more achieving. In all of the articles I found they showed construct validity. The
first article was conducted with 375 students. The researchers wanted to figure out if first borns or
second borns were higher in either mastery goals or performance goals. Their construct was
mastery and performance and they measured this with a survey that had a 5 point scale. Each
survey pertaining to either mastery or

Intelligence also has some connection with school performance that there are links between intelligence and aptitude in classroom, as might be expected (Cook, 2008 cited Genesee, 1976) On the other hand, intelligence may play a less important role in language learning that focuses more on communication and interaction (Cummins, 1980). Hence, it is important to keep in mind that intelligence is complex and that a person has many kinds of abilities and strengths (Brown, 2000; Johnson, 2008). For the second cognitive variables is aptitude that refers to the ability to learn quickly (Carroll, 1991) and is thought to predict success in learning or the natural ability to learn a language that is thought to be a combination of various abilities, such as the ability to identify sound patterns in a new language, the ability to recognise the different grammatical functions of words in sentences, Rote Learning ability, and the ability to infer language rules (Richards et.al., 1995; Cook, 2008). • 4. Essay On Mentoring These last two weeks of mentoring have been going very smoothly for me. I feel as if my peer mentoring gears are finally revving up as I m starting to understand how to be a successful peer mentor. The reason, I think, for my recent success as a peer mentor and the collaboration with the peer mentoring team is due to the weekly articles. With the weekly articles, I m able to realize what made previous collaborations in my life so successful and what made the more unfavorable groups unsuccessful. This has allowed me to focus more on the successful traits by having the knowledge of it in my mind and steer away from the bad traits. These successful traits would be the three ingredients for collaboration which is the willingness to grant authority,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In all of my past successful collaborations, each member had a mutual respect for each other, enjoyed each other presence, and worked together in an appropriate manner. To contrast this: in a previous group that performed not successfully, it was due to internal conflict between my partner and me. There was an obvious tension between us that made me want to disprove or reject any idea they would suggest, even if it was good. Although we managed to put aside our differences to finish the project, not many positive memories remained from that collaboration other than the negativity and awkwardness between us. I understand how tension in a group could harm the collaboration as it may lead to the rejection of positive ideas or worse case scenario, sabotaging the project. Working in an atmosphere of stress definitely does not promote insightful and efficient learning. To summarize my second reflection, I have learned the importance of the three ingredients for a successful collaboration. Through elaborating on how each ingredient relates to an event in my life, I believe it further strengthened my appreciation for both the article and collaborating in general. I plan to enforce these ingredients in future group projects as it ll allow me to truly collaborate and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 6. Theme Of Music In Fantasia 3 Program music is music that is intended to evoke images or convey the impression of events. From the music, a story was developed to be in Fantasia 3. The characters in the story are hundreds of trolls along with one tiny fox. It is set in a deep dark, enchanted forest during night time. The key is Bв™minor which the minor soundcreates a scary and dark mood. This key had been associated with words such as obscure and gloomy and has also been associated with the image or mood of night time.. Right as the song starts it begins forte. This grabs the audience s attention straight away and scares the audience just like the trolls do to the fox. The dynamic portrays the dominant, scary nature of the trolls right from the first beat. This is also is goes hand in hand with the timbre. The song begins with a large group of strings and woodwind instruments playing, depicting all of the trees. They used lower sounding instruments, such as the bassoon and clarinet, to create a dark and scary sound. This allows for a fuller sound further allowing them to create scary, gloomy and intimidating atmosphere. The tempo is andante, an easy walkingpace, which is fairly slow. However, having this tempo allows the portrayal of the trees to be large, heavy and slow moving. The melody itself has many rests in between the melody patterns. This helps depict the trolls being so stiff as they change from tree to troll, suggesting that they have been a tree for too long. This is also supported by the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Another ongoing observation is the frequency of assets in pending contract that fall out because the buyer fails to return the purchase agreement. This trend continues to be high. Although Altisource does not provide statistics regarding overall pending contracts that fall out, in our view, the number is higher than other REO vendors we work with. We believe this likely relates to the process by which Altisource sells REO assets on the HUBZU website, where there is no economic penalty to the bidder if they place an offer on a property that is accepted, but subsequently fails to deliver an executed purchase agreement. He also talked to them and treated them as equals, not as African Americansubordinates. The description of Conroys conversations is also written really well. The Civil War was fought over African Americans and their rights as a citizen, and even though the war was won in favor of them, they were still treated as such and not given the education they deserved. In Egypt, Bahrain, and Syria, it is the husband s right to stop their wives from traveling out of the country. All the husband needs to do is file a complaint at the airport to prevent his wife from leaving the country. The husband doesn t even need to give the airport any reason for why he doesn t want his wife traveling. In other countries like Iraq, Jordan, Morocco, Oman, and Yemen, the husband needs to provide written permission for their wives to travel. Lastly in Saudi Arabia, for an unmarried woman to travel they must have written permission from their closest male relative. This written permission is for leaving the country or traveling on public transportation between the different parts of the country. In South Asia and Sub Saharan Africa, forty percent of women are married before their 18th birthday. The women don t have the right to choice their husbands. There is no correct way to reckon or justify the outrageous decisions that occur when the feeling of love is present. Love is more than a feeling, more than a four letter word, more than an emotion that gets expressed on a daily basis. There are people in this world that search their entire lives trying to find love. • 39. Elizabeth Drew Bartow Stoddard The 19th century Victorian era was a bleak time for public health, and even more so for soon to be mothers. It was not a concern for governments, and the rate of death per 1000 births was staggering (175 per 1000 births, and that was without account for race and class differences). In a time where motherhood coupled with being a woman, being a woman often meant grief. This birthed the trend of the female poetess of the Victorian era, and the child elegy became a common way to express this grief. Elizabeth Drew Bartow Stoddard was no exception to the trend, or the child death count. In her poem One morn I left him in his bed , Stoddard uses vivid imagery, unreliable narration, musical sound devices, rhythm and meter, as well as a sorrowful tone to convey her anguish: the anguish of a woman unable to cope with her son s death and is forced to face the reality of a world where he is not alive. At the beginning of the poem we are faced with the morbid scene of a child being prepared for burial; however if it were not stated in the previous stanza that the child is in fact dead, the audience might not immediately pick up on it, thinking he might simply be sleeping with flowers in his hair, and on his breast/ little hands together prest typical romanticized imagery one might see in a child elegy. Lifting of Corporate Veil in Tort Cases in Pursuit of Justice Lifting of Corporate Veil in Tort Cases in Pursuit of Justice Introduction Limited liability has been the prevailing rule for corporations for more than a century. It creates incentives for excessive risk taking by allowing companies to avoid the full costs of their activities. Strict application of this rule in all cases would lead to inflexibility and injustice, particularly in tort cases. Therefore, as suggested by Stephen Griffin in the interests of justice and to prevent subsidiary companies being used as convenient risk takers for their parent...the [corporate] veil must not become immovable. A predominant factor in the Bolshevik takeover s victory was the weakness and poor decisions of the provisional government (PG), the provisional government was weak due to numerous defeats in the war and the fact that they did not change how the country was run after the February Revolution which removed the Tsar from power, this meant that the Provisional Government was merely seen as the Tsar with a different face. This is firstly because he was the one to decide that the Bolsheviks would try to stop the war, which was their most popular policy, especially after the brutal failure of the June Offensive. If it was not for this then the Bolsheviks would have not had the support of as many soldiers or workers. The second reason why Lenin was the most important cause was due to the fact that he turned the Bolsheviks into a brand with him as a figurehead and with simple, easy to understand slogans such as Peace, Land and Bread appealed to the masses as they could easily identify what the Bolsheviks supported and why it appealed to them which in turn gained their support. Lenin also created the Red Guard which was very important to the victory as they were the well trained army that fought for the Bolsheviks and it was only with them that they could overcome the PG. Lenin is also important as he was the person who convinced the Bolshevik central committee (controlled by Trotsky) to vote for a revolution , if it was not for this there would have been no Bolshevik revolution in October 1917. Therefore Lenin is more important because he created the resources and gathered the support needed to overthrow the PG by exploiting the PG s weakness , like keeping the war, and Lenin is more important than Trotsky because without the resources and support which Lenin had gained, he would have not been able to pull of his master ... Typically, it is used to help relax/calm a person, control /alleviate pain, and recover from whatever they re experiencing. Being susceptible to suggestion makes it easy to be affected mentally and physically. The hypnotist uses this to guide you or influence you into a certain situation. When being hypnotized, the subject is in charge and can t be forced against their will. Which means people can only be hypnotized if they re willing to be. The Social cognitive theory of hypnosis is a form of role playing where people who are hypnotized aren t in a different state of consciousness, but are simply acting the way others expect them to in that situation (Sarbin Coe, 1972). In some countries, surveillance camera systems also known as closed circuit television (CCTV) cameras have also installed in educational institutions as a security measure to address fears for the safety of the students (Hope, 2004; Corpuz, 2011). The trend, however, did not stop. From halls and corridors, some education institutions have started to install cameras inside the classrooms as a means not just to monitor the teachers, but also to address classroom misbehavior (Shepherd, 2009). This paper seeks to cover the possible positive and negative effects of installing CCTV systems inside the classrooms.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Grant (2004) said educators want video cameras in classrooms to address the issue of violence in schools. Often teachers who are attacked have no way of proving their claims because pupils who witness the incidents fail to back up their stories. In the Philippines, the installation of cameras inside the classrooms is seen in a similar light. As cited in Grafil (2011), University of Santo Tomas security chief Joseph Badinas said the cameras can be used to track people who are doing something suspicious. The reason behind the installation of CCTV systems in the classrooms can be attributed to the triadic reciprocality principle of the social cognitive theory (Bandura, 1986).
