throughout the stream. Furthermore, bank degradation associated with the movement of livestock
has caused the displacement of foreign sediments into stream habitats. These factors, among many
others, have caused the lake to be considered impaired by PA DEP. In response, the Buffalo Creek
Watershed Alliance, the the Union County Conservation District, and the Department of
Environmental Protection and Fish and Boat Commision have partnered in an effort to restore
stream habitat and create a riparian buffer to protect the stream.

J.S. Bach was born into a stylistic period called the Baroque period. This period
was one of decorative, lavish extravagance in relation to art, architecture and
music. Similar to architecture at this time, Bach s music was extremely ornate

yet still had a strict organisation of insistent rhythms. Thus, music of the

In the essays Homeplace by Scott Russell Sanders and I Must Be Going by Richard Ford, the
authors discuss their very different viewpoints on whether people should move around or stay put
in one home. In Homeplace, Sanders argues against moving with a didactic and self righteous tone
that aims to put his philosophy of staying put above any other. However, in I Must Be Going, Ford

There are 8 maritime academies that are pumping out 800 Third Officers and Third Assistant
Engineers every year. These new junior officers that end up sailing will eventually require attending
the courses we will be providing. Now, they are creating Junior Supply Officer(s), which I intend to
create courses to support advancement in this rate.
There are various Gun Ranges to support Small Arms Training, which is a high demand course
requirement in Military Sealift Command, even with the Unions who are contracted by Military
Sealift Command. This course alone would pay for the overhead cost at the training center.
However, this business plan is not about one course; it s about two dozen courses we can start
without having to invest in high price training aids like a simulator. However, once we get
established the goal will become a full service Maritime Center with a Simulator.
The proposed training center will be only 5 hours away from the Military Sealift Command CSU
W pool in San Diego, where CIVMARs are backlogged sometime waiting weeks for openings on

Oligopoly Behavior in the Airline Industry. Case Analysis This case illustrates the pricing
behavior of firms that are oligopoly whose market is characterized by the relative few
participating firms offering differentiated or standardized products or services. Such firms in an
oligopoly have market power derived from barriers of entry that wards off potential participants. As
seen in the case, it is clear that because there are a small number of US Airlines firms competing
with each other, their behavior is mutually interdependent thus, the strategies and decisions by one
airlinemanagement affect managements of the other airlines whose subsequent decisions then

When they didn t, the airline retaliated by offering deep cuts in fares on several routes flown by
its competitors. Northwest airline responded with a $198 round trip fares with connections on
routes for which American airline s average fare was $1,600. American s response was to offer
$99 one way fairs in 10 markets flown by each of the other competitors except that of Continental
Airlines which had followed and matched the leader s (American Airline) original changes in all
markets. With respect to the concept of strategic behavior exhibited by firms in an oligopolistic
setting, some firms may try to achieve a dominant strategy that yields them better results and do not

Firms in an oligopoly may differ in terms of their cost structure and the airline industry is no
exception and participants do exhibit strategies that enable them not to follow price increases
driven by aviation fuel cost.

hedging (contract to mitigate their exposure to future fuel prices that may be higher than current
