Greed In The Fisherman And His Wife By The Grimm Brothers
Flaws such as greed become a sin when it starts to have an impact on others. Greed, rage, lust,
anger, sloth, pride, envy and gluttony are the 7 deadly sins and when taken to extremes, will
affect others making them a sin. Ever wonder when flaws such as greed become a sin? Greed can
be related to stealing, however these flaws are known as deadly sins when they start to affect
others. The Fairytale, The Fisherman and His Wife, by The Grimm Brothers that includes the
deadly sin, greed. The authors warn us that those who are greedy will never be satisfied. Seven
bloodied hopes meaning someone is always hoping for more and more, similarly to the
fisherman s wife, who always wanted a new house. The fisherman went finishing one day and
caught a magic fish who was once a prince. He could grant wishes if he was thrown back into the
ocean. The fisherman was happy to return it until he told his wife about the fish when he got
home. Since he and his wife lived in a small pig sty she was furious that he didn t ask for anything,
so she made him go back and ask... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Both the fisherman and his wife are affected by her actions because he is forced to go ask for
more and more from the fish. The fisherman and His Wife addresses a parallel idea to PhaГ«thon

consequences. This is connected to the deadly sin greed again. When PhaГ«thon wanted to

Symbolism In Beata Rossetti
In a symbol there is concealment and yet revelation
Thomas Carlyle
Solving of the problem of love and death was an implication of the symbolists ideal view. On the
one side, passionate love, which boarders with being demРѕnic, that leР°ds lРѕvers to dРµath, Р°nd
the dРµath itself, that Рѕpens the doors to new life, making the lovers immortal. The idea of
expressing interrelation of these two concepts, crucially important for symbolism, that lies in the
artwork Beata Beatrix made by Dante Gabriel Rossetti.
The subject of this artwork is the scene from the emotionally autobiographical work of Dante
Alighieri La Vita Nuova , at the moment of Beatrice Portinari s death, who the author loved deeply.
Rossetti depicts the moment of Beatrice s death on her parents balcony in 1290, however, for the
artist this scene means much more, than just a visual interpretation of a scene from a book.
In 1962 the beloved wife and muse of Gabriel Rossetti Elizabeth Siddal died at the ... Show more

On the background on the right hand side of the picture, Rossetti depicts Dante (it is said by
several art critics that it is the symbol of death), whereas on the opposite side of Beatrice there is
a mystical figure in the red robe with a flaming heart in his hands. It is the symbol of love and
spiritual connection between Beatrice and Dante (the parallel between Elizabeth and Rossetti also
may be drawn).
At the background next to Dante we can see a sundial that shows 9 o clock. This number famous
author (Alighieri) connects to Beatrice s life and death in a mystical way several times throughout
La Vita Nuova . Behind heroine s head we can see the river Arno, a bridge above it, and a slight
silhouette of the Ponte Vecchio and the Duomo of Florence, where Dante Alighieri and Beatrice
were both living until her unfortunate

Vera Wang Advert
The advertising campaign that I will be analysing is Princess by Vera Wang. The two platforms
this advert is promoted across is TV and print image. The main representations across both
platforms is: High anarchy Freedom Fun The TV advert begins by depicting jewellery and a
gold crown with gems. This gives connotations of wealth and luxury. Things you d expect when
you re in royalty, particularly a princess . A typical princess would be portrayed as elegant,
classy and stylish. A first thought would be a fairy tale typical princess but this advert shows a
more modern take on being a princess. Like Partying and take advantage of being rich. This is
would appeal to a more teenage audience as this is what teenagers would usually do,... Show more

Whereas in the second she is casually lying down in her messy bed and her legs are up in the
background and she s posing very innocently. Her facial expression in the first print advert is sort
of a smile however not completely she still has a look of determination and she connects with
the audience as there is direct mode of address. This could mean there is an element of mystery
as she has decided not to smile fully. Similarly, in the second picture she s looking at the camera
with her sharp eyes and this time her mouth is a bit open, forming almost a smile. Yet again
there is something which is keeping her from showing a full smile, this perhaps could be her
status showing she s a strong character and doesn t have to prove her emotions to everybody yet
at the same time she has to look inviting. Her costume in both pictures are very fantasy looking
(as if she just walked out of a fairy tale). It s very elegant and puffy, it looks expensive and this
would be expected if she is a princess. In both campaigns they also use massive crowns/tiara s this
grabs the audience s attention as it s very captivating and glamorous. There are two types of fonts
used in both campaigns, the Vera Wang part is in capitals and however the princess part looks like
handwriting (again referring to teenagers and this is perhaps how they

The Culture And Climate Is A System Of Shared Assumptions,...
Introduction The culture and climate both leave a major imprint on any organization. They tend to
have the biggest impact during transformational periods. In order for change to be present in any
organization, the leader must first identify and be able to stabilize both culture and climate
components. While organizational climate has been around for some time now, organizational
climate is a relatively recent development. (Papa, M.J., Daniels, T.D., Spiker, B.K. (2008)
Description
Organizational culture is a system of shared assumptions, values and beliefs that governs how
people behave in organizations. The culture of an organization provides boundaries and guidelines
that help members of the organization know the correct way to perform their jobs. (McLaughlin,
John) Organizational climate is the umbrella term to indicate the process of quantifying the
organizational culture of an organization. It is a set of properties of the work environment,
perceived directly or indirectly by the employees, that is assumed to be a major force in influencing
employee behavior. Organizational climate can also be defined as the recurring patterns of
behavior, attitudes and feelings that characterize life in the organization. (MBA Brief)
There are several differences between the culture and climate. Being a part of a culture, often times
involve some adjusting to the new environment. For example, you wouldn t act the same in a rock
concert as you would a gospel concert. These

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Ha Long Bay
Ha Long Bay is located in the Gulf of Tulkin, Northern Vietnam. It is 165 km from the capital, Ha
Noi. It consists of over 16,000 limestone islands and islets which are uninhabited and untouched by
humans. Ha Long Bay is formed by Cat Ba island to the South, Ngoc Hung and Van Canh islands to
the East and the Vietnamese coastline to the North and West. Even though the bay stretches for
thousands of square kilometres, the UNESCOWorld Heritage sight is only 434 square kilometres.
Ha long bay is well known for its emerald green waters and towering limestone cliffs with thick
rainforest on top. It was made a world heritage sight in 1994 and is surprising, Vietnam number one

The management takes into account the requirements of the World Heritage convention,
recommendations from the world heritage committee and other regulation put in place by the
Vietnamese government. Social and economical activities on Halong Bay are regulated and
effectively managed. The provincial government have made regulations that UNESCO manage
that help stop illegal activity from happening to the beautiful bay. These regulation include: mud
dredging, land filling, fisherman and housing. These regulations are a smart way of making sure
that the site is being treated properly. The government provides for education and promotion of
the area. Which is why that Ha Long Bay is a number one tourist attraction. Although the
government have lots of strategies to do with the protection of Ha Long bay, they do not have
any conservation ideas. Conservation is the planned protection and preservation of a certain
object. As Ha Long Bay is made mostly of limestone, the erosion of the rocks will happen a lot
faster and therefore will erode away into the sea or collapse in a only a short amount of time. One
managenent strategy is making the islands stronger by adding rocks that don t erode such as
granite to the base. Another is having a to pay a tax to set up a buisness that involves tourism.

A Religious Point Of View
From a religious point of view, if God had thought homosexuality is a sin, he would not have
created gay people by Howard Dean. Homosexuals have had a hard time coming out and making
that first step to accept themselves. The other part is actually coming out to their peers, family, and
friends and for them to accept him as well. There are many obstacles when it comes to coming out
and when it relates to Judaism. According to information published by The Jewish People Policy
Planning Institute, there were around 13.1 million Jewish people in the world in 2007, most
residing in the USA and Israel. According to the 2001 census 267,000 people in the UK said that
their religious identity was Jewish, about 0.5% of the population ( Judaism at a Glance ). As the
Jewish population is slowly increasing, homosexual Jews will be partially accepted and loved, but
there desires is what is frowned upon in Judaism law. Their desires can lead they to make wrong
choices that will eventually lead to health related issues that will affect them even further. Through
the obstacles homosexuals face their sexual morals in Judaism can lead them to have health issues
later on in life.
Judaism is the original of the three Abrahamic faiths, which also includes Christianity and Islam.
Judaism originated in the Middle East over 3500 years ago and the basics of this religion were
founded by Moses. However, Jews trace their history back to Abraham. They believe that there is

Why Is It Important To Read To Children
To Read to Children or Not to Read to Children
Over the years as many things in the world have changed there has been one favored child parent
bonding activity that has stuck around through all the changes which is known as parents reading
to their children. According to Kun Hung Cheng and Chin Chung Tsai, an idea offered by Fletcher
and Reese, 2005 that the three modules of a parent, children, and picture book provide the
foundations for practicing effective picture book reading indicates the significant role parents play
in their children s reading (203). In a study which included two groups of parents and their
children, (one was instructed to read eight books five times over eight weeks, the other was

Some parents may say they are too busy with their daily activities and do not have the time
necessary to read to their children. Although that may have been a valid excuse in the past, today,
a Lot of children s books are available for free through online music stores such as iTunes or
Google play. Why not consider getting one to read to them during the next outing? Not only will
doing this likely help keep them occupied, but it will also likely encourage them to (a) read books
themselves and (b) possess a more extensive imagination essentially enabling them to make up and
tell their own stories thus enabling them to entertain themselves in a vast majority of uninteresting
environments or situations.
Other parents may say they travel too often for work and are never home enough to read to their
children. A suggestion for these parents would be to record themselves reading the book during
the day and then have someone else (such as a grandparent, babysitter, or whoever is staying
with him or her while they are away) play it back for them in the evening before they go to bed. A
father on Youtube did this for his daughter so they could still have their nightly reading time while
he was away on work related business. Additionally, a few parents may say their children are not
interested in

Sixth Great Extinction
1)attention grabber: Here on Earth today we are living through a time known as the sixth great
extinction, at least according to certain scientists.
2)listener relevance: Many species go extinct daily, which ruins ecosystems and causes extinction to
other organisms that live in that environment. Which leads to extinction of larger organisms and
possibly could even lead to us.
3)speaker credibility: I believe that we need help preserve our planet and species that live here as
best as we can to prevent the destruction of Earth and the many organisms that live here. Without
plants and animals we would not be able to survive.

animals already have been federally listed as threatened or endangered and protected. That is a
lot of species at risk of going extinct, fortunately groups such as these are able to possible avoid
that from happening. Though some may never be able to return to the wild if the habitat they live
in is completely gone from in the outside world, they would not be able to survive. So preserving
habitats for these animals is also a key factor of keeping species from going extinct.
B.sub point: The National Wildlife Federation helps restore and protect endangered species by
restoring habitats along with defending the Endangered Species Act, lowing threats to the species,
and many other key factors of keeping a species from dying out.

Marital Rape And Injustice In The United States
Today marital rape is considered a crime, whereas in history, it was acceptable for the husband to
have nonconsensual sex with his wife. Wives were once known to be their husbands possession,
giving the husband ownership of her body which in turn gives him the right to have sex with them
without her permission. The law back in history once said, a man cannot rapehis wife, because when
they get married, the marriagegives the husband consent to sexual intercourse. It was said rape only
happens by an acquaintance or a stranger outside the marriage. John Rightout was the first
husband to be convicted of raping his wife. Righout versus the State of Oregon put the marital
rape law into action. In 1993, all states considered marital rape to be a crime, but 33 states placed
certain exemptions such as: if the wife was sleeping if she was unconscious or physically weak
and if she was legally unable to consent to having sex with her husband when concerning
prosecutions of raping a wife. A woman is the only person who can be considered a rape victim,
and rape laws were specifically applied only to them. This type of rape brings fear. It is committed
by using physical force or threats if the wife refuses to consent to sex. Marital rape, the term that

Naomi Wolf
I found the film of the lecture given by Naomi Wolf to be exceptionally interesting and thought
provoking. The beginning of her discussion surrounding the topic of beauty and the reason
women are seemingly so obsessed with it was presented in a way that I have never considered
myself. The idea that the media and culture surrounding women is one of a purposeful
preoccupation with beauty and the conceived notions of what that means is very striking. To
continue the discussion about her idea surrounding women and girls and their preoccupation with
beauty standards it is easy to segue the conversation into the dangers of this preoccupation. The
numerous repercussions of this preoccupation with unrealistic beauty standards is manifested in
both physical and mental effects. One of the effects that was discussed to a large extent is eating
disorders, which affects both the physical and mental aspects of a woman s (or man s) well
being. The effects of eating disorders, in particular anorexia which is categorized by restrictive
and obsessive eating behaviors, can be catastrophic. As Naomi Wolf discussed in a person story
about her own eating disorder... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It was obvious to me just watching the film and the shots of the crowd, especially at moments of
interaction, that these unrealistic standards of beauty to one extent or another have an effect on
women from all walks of life. Speaking in the realm of the United States alone it is possible to
say that any woman is who is continuously exposed to mass media, especially from an early age,
will be in one way or another affected by this beauty myth . To what extent the effect is I believe
does vary between ethnicities. This ideal beauty is often portrayed as overwhelmingly blonde and
caucasian so I could see how this would cause even more of a negative impact among women of
color than on white

There are lots of threats from the environment and from humans. Here are some of the many
threats and some fun facts. The first threat is unsustainable fishing, it is the largest ocean threat.
90% of the world s fisheries are already overfished, while other unwanted animals die needlessly
each year. The second threat is pollution, over 80% of marine pollution comes from land based
activity. Oil spills, fertilizers, seas of garbage, sewage disposal, and toxic chemicals can cause
pollution. The third threat is shipping, substandard ships and poor shipping practices are
leading to massive marine pollution, and damage. The last threat is climate change. The key
impacts of climate change are coral bleaching, stormy weather, moving homes, rising sea levels,
acidic oceans, altered lifestyles, and decreased mixing. Now here are some fun facts, or
environmental factors. The marine biome is the biggest biome in the world, it covers 70% of
the Earth, and accounts for 90% of the world s water supply. The ocean biome is considered to
be the oldest of all biomes, humans have only explored about 10% of the ocean biome. The
oceans are normally very salty, there is about one cup of salt for every gallon of water in the
ocean. At 36,200 feet deep, the Mariana Trench is the deepest part of the ocean biome, oceans

The Benefits Of Driverless Cars
Driving is a part of mostly everyone s day to day lifestyles. When you think about it, driving is
something that most people take very seriously however, there are some people that don t take it
very seriously. Driverless cars would be a nice investment for people who are extremely busy, so
they could maybe finish their work while traveling. Driverless cars however, would not be a
very good investment in my opinion for so many reasons. Having a driverless car would mean
that you had no control over what happened to the car which is highly dangerous because it is
just a big machine, and machines malfunction very often. Driverless cars would also take away
so many jobs for people that could really need them, causing people to be left without a home,
food, clothes, etc. In my opinion driverless cars are stupid and I do not agree with them. In this
essay we will look at perspective one, two, and three to see what people have to say about
driverless cars. First, we will look at perspective one. Perspective one states that driverless cars
are an amazing idea and they will save countless lives, protect the environment, and allow more
transportation options for the poor. It also states that the benefits of driverless cars will vastly
outweigh any short term drawbacks. I don t fully agree with this. I believe that driverless cars are
not a completely amazing idea, they could save many lives but they could also endanger many, and

Compare And Contrast Two Famous Bad Leader
A simple definition of leadership is a skill or ability that someone has in order to lead or guide
the community to a specific set of goal to better outcomes. Based on this definition, judging bad
leaders in this term should be considered just by their results as good leaders will essentially lead to
good results and bad leaders will lead to bad results. In this essay, the difference of describing two
famous bad leaders of the ancient Rome, Caligula and Nero, written by two authors, Tacitus and
Suetonius, are mentioned in details to see if they are judged rightly. Therefore, it can be seen if
the two bad leaders are unfair, or they had some good results in that time or after. The first bad
leader that is introduced is the Emperor of Rome Gaius, mostly known as Caligula. In the
beginning, the Romans loved Caligula because of his father, Germanicus, who was a great
general and kind person among the others, and Caligula used to accompany him when he was a
boy. However, Caligula is famous for being a Capricious, harmful, and mass murderer person. All
this love for Caligula was gone after he changed to a cruel person due to his illness. Suetonius

The Roles Of Eleanor Roosevelt And Betty Ford
Throughout history, First Ladies have shaped the U.S. with their husbands and some have inspired
their husband s policies. Many First Ladies supported their husbands and have spoken alongside
the President. Eleanor Roosevelt and Betty Ford have left behind powerful, political legacies and
used their voices to campaign for others. They are two of the most prominent First Ladies, who
have redefined their positions during their terms.
Eleanor Roosevelt is one of the most influential and powerful woman during the twentieth century.
She was a pioneering first lady, who spoke out on social issues and advocated for many causes,

Women s Status Of Inferiority
In pre Islamic societies, women were held in high regards as matriarchal communities widely
existed. Their biology, with its ability to reproduce, enabled women to be worshipped for they
were the principle of creating life; this fact opposed androcentric theories that state how the nature
of women dictated a status of inferiority (Ahmed 11). However, as many scholars and theorists
have noted, the decline of women s status in pre Islamic societies was likely from urbanization. As
warfare increased from city states expanding their territories, warrior culture generated male
dominance, and the reproductive capacity of women were looked to for providing labor power,
making them be seen as property (Ahmed 12). In many instances, the rise of urban societies
negatively affected women as Leila Ahmed stated in Women and Gender in Islam and as
demonstrated in late Sumerian, Babylonian, and Assyrian cultures. The complexities of these
civilizations produced military competitiveness, escalating the aspects of male dominance and

TUTORIAL 1
1)Identify aspects of competition within the meaning of competition law.
The Harper Review defined competition as the process by which rival businesses strive to
maximise their profits by developing and offering desirable goods and services to consumers on the
most favourable terms . The purpose of competition policy is therefore to protect, enhance and
extend competitive conduct. Competition Law aims to combat certain anti competitive practices that
interfere with the efficiency of markets to the detriment of both consumers and other suppliers.
Competition law is not intended to protect competitors per se (Harper Review); rather, as per
Joseph Schumpeter, competition facilitates creative destruction as old and inefficient economic ...

The Parmalat Australia website suggests that its brand Pauls is the most consumed branded milk
in Australia. Parmalat is a significant producer of UHT milk; however, the majority of this is
exported to the Asia Pacific. UHT milk accounts for less than 10% of total milk sales in
Australia. Fonterra and the Murray Goulburn group have a similar market share to Parmalat,
thereby constraining its market power. Lion Pty Ltd is the industry leader with a 32% market
share, however this covers several brands and also includes private label contracts with
Woolworths. The fact that the major suppliers operate nation wide and would be present in each
market (as discussed above), significantly limits Parmalat s ability to exploit its market power. It is
difficult to envisage Parmalat partaking in exclusive dealings or predatory pricing to the detriment
of its competitors, given that they have similar resources and would be capable of rebuffing these
tactics. Nevertheless, if Parmalat colludes with another supplier, then the combined market share of
the firms would be substantial, thus creating scope for cartel behaviour that is disadvantageous to
farmers (primary

The True Meaning Of Life
People, specifically, individuals want to live on, they want to venture themselves into the future.
we have this will to live on. And nevertheless, unlike any other conscious being, we have to live
with the realization, that this will is going to be frustrated, that this will all end, that we will die.
Furthermore, we have to live with the sense that our lives, our conscience, will no longer exist the
worst thing that could perhaps happen to us, our will. This is the true meaning of what is means
to be mortal. So, it is fully logical to see why some would want to live forever, to become
immortal. For instance, on one side of a spectrum, there is the non humananimals, which possess
the same will as humans but do not possess the knowledge of death. This means, that since they
are not aware of death, they are then immortal. Another example, on the other side of the
spectrum are the gods or higher beings, which are immortal, because they are aware of death but
they do not die. Right in the middle of the spectrum, there are humans, possessing both the will to
live and the the knowledge of death. Therefore, it is reasonable, that one would want to live
forever, or for an indefinite time. We could benefit from the thrilling idea that any present day
could be our last with the possibility that it may be not. People fear the simplicity of death and do
not like to discuss it, looking at the history of thought, there are people who have come to terms
with this fear. People who spoke

La Raza Cosmica By Jose Vasconcelos

mutable, more malleable species with a rich gene pool. An allien consciousness is forming.
A Struggle of Border In a constant state of mental nepantilism, la mestiza is a product of the
transfer of the cultural and spiritual values of one group to another. Cradled in one culture,
sandwiched between two cultures, staddling all three cultures and their value systems, la mestiza
undergoes a struggle of flesh, a struggle of borders, an inner war. Like all people, we recognize the
version of reality that our culture communicates. The coming together of two self consistent but
habitually incompatible frames of reference causes a cultural collision. We attempt to block with
opposition in terms of culture, but it is not enough to stand on opposite position. The counterstance

Full Moon Phases
For the last ten weeks I have been observing the moon and its positions every night for moon lab.
This moon lab is an observation experiment to see them moon phases periodically throughout time.
With these observations each student drew a depiction of the moon at the time the observed it in a
chart along with the date and time the student witnessed the sun. We started this lab on January 23
and the last observation for me is on April 25, 2017. To understand the cause on the effect of the
moonphases you have to know what they are. Just like everything in this world the moon has a
life cycle and that is exactly what moon phases are the cycle of the moon. During each phases the
moon is casted by a shadow representing how close or far away the moon is for the sun. There are

Jane Addams and the Progressive Movement Essay
Jane Addams and the Progressive Movement

Jane Addams is recognized as a social and political pioneer for women in America. In her
biography, which later revealed her experiences in Hull House, she demonstrates her altruistic
personality, which nurtured the poor and pushed for social reforms. Although many of Addams
ideas were considered radical for her time, she provided women with a socially acceptable way to
participate in both political and social change. She defied the prototypical middle class women by
integrating the line that separated private and political life. Within these walls of the settlement
house, Addams redefined the idea of ?separate spheres,? and with relentless determination, she ...

More and more women were becoming teachers during this period, and it was continuously
being associated as a female entity. Women were allowed to engage in certain social affairs.
Although this did not include fighting for the reduction of labor hours or the elimination of child
labor, it did encompass helping the poor, which was the immediate motive behind establishing
Hull House. Reaching out to women who needed a place to stay, or workers who could not
afford to live in the crowded and unsanitary apartments that usually stuffed several families in one
room, could find shelter in Addam?s creation. However, Addams worked extended beyond the
?private sphere? in too many areas to ignore. Her struggle led to many social and political
reforms; she took a very radical political stance for her time, breaking her association from the
standard middle class women.
Hull House was unique in the sense that it held a position in both the public and private spheres of
society. Within the private sphere, women in the Addam?s settlement house ran the household,
raised children, taught about the necessity of morals, and preached about religion. In addition, Hull
House members offered assistance to their community, which later encompassed the realm of the
private sphere. Such actions included teaching, daycare, art galleries, and libraries. ??Hull House in

Remoteness of Damages in Torts
Remoteness of Damages in Torts
Before we begin looking into the depth of the topic, let us start with a few definitions to draw out
the basic structure of what all will we cover.
1)Tort A tort is a civil wrong that causes unlawful harm to a person, giving them legal liability to
sue the wrongdoer, or the tortfeasor .
2)Damages in Tort These are the different forms of compensation usually given to a victim for
injury or harm caused.
3)Remoteness In Tort law, it is the set of rules that limits the amount of compensatory damage

Thus, the question of whether or not, the loss suffered by a plaintiff was too remote to be
recoverable, was determined by asking whether the loss was a direct consequence of the negligence
of the defendant.
The basic element of this case was that the consequences of the worker s act were unforeseeable by
any reasonable person and therefore the question that arose was about whether suitable justice was
provided in holding him responsible for the consequences of the act. At that point, under the law, it
was held that, irrespective of whether the act was foreseeable or not, he was still liable as the

Genre Theory
Genre and Genre Film
Introduction to Film

Genre Theory is used in the categorization of films. Genres are dependent on various factors such
as story line, whom the director is, and what are the audience expectations In using genre theory we
create a short cut in how we describe films. Genres are categorized into and then sub categorized
depending on the story and plot. Fantasy is a genre described as, Any film with obviously unreal,
magical, or impossible situations, characters, or settings, often overlapping with various other
genres, especially science fiction, but sometimes historical dramas. (Goodykoontz, 2014) Fantasy is

Low key lighting and odd camera angles are used in this part of the film while Harry searches
for the Sorcerer s stone and battles Voldemort. There is a slight horror aspect to the following
scenes as Harry deals with the antagonist of the film, Voldemort. Horror is a genre that aims to
create a sense of fear, panic, and dread for the audience. These films are often unsettling and rely
on scaring the audience through a portrayal of their worst fears and nightmares. As we grow to
love Harry and realize his biggest fear is the man who killed his parents and also him, and then are
forced to watch him return this brings horror into the mix as a sub genre.

Solving Multi Criteria Decision Making Problems
There are several methods to solve multi criteria decision making problems. Analytic Hierarchy
Process (AHP) and Analytic Network Process (ANP) are two methods created by Tomas Saaty.
AHP endeavor to solve the decision making problem by formed it in a hierarchy while ANP is
used when the problem is so complex that cannot be formed as a hierarchy. This complexity
happens because of the effect of criteria between each other or the effect of alternatives on criteria.
Generally we can say The Analytic Network Process is a generalization of the Analytic Hierarchy
Process. The ANP approach can be comprises in to four steps [87]:
Step 1: Model construction and problem structuring: The problem should be stated clearly and
decomposed into a rational system like a network
Step 2: Pairwise comparisons and priority vectors: In ANP, like AHP, pairs of decision elements at
each cluster are compared with respect to their importance towards their control criteria.
Furthermore, interdependencies among criteria of a cluster must also be treated pairwise; thus the
influence of each element on other elements can be represented by an eigenvector. The relative
importance values are determined with Saaty s nine scales.
Step 3: Supermatrix structure: the Supermatrix concept is similar to the Markov chain process. To
obtain global priorities in a system with interdependent influences, the local priority vectors are
entered in the appropriate columns of a matrix. As a result, a supermatrix is

United States. To emphasize, Dolly Parton is very successful because she first started a country

Figurative Language In Erik Larson s Devil In The White City

Serbian poet, Dejan Stojanovic, once stated, Devil and God two sides of the same face. When
looking at Chicago during the Columbian Exposition, there were two sides of Chicago known as
the white city and the black city. The white city was the fairgrounds where the World Fair
occurred. The black city, however, is the rest of Chicagowhere the crime, poverty, disease, and filth
was represented. Erik Larson constructs the black and white city in Devil in the White City by
incorporating figurative language, imagery, and juxtaposition.
One of Erik Larson s main ways of building the black and white cities is through figurative
language. Larson expresses that Chicago is likened...to a human being with his skin removed ...

Using descriptive diction such as eerie and swamp readers can imagine an unpleasant city
rustling with filth and crime. Larson exposes that Chicago had auras of mosquitoes in its midst.
Readers automatically see Chicago as a filthy and troublesome town when they associate it with
mosquitoes. This view of Chicago created by Larson further achieves his purpose to show the
downside of Chicago during the time the World Fair was being constructed and attended. When
the World Fair was finished, Larson described the nights, the lamps that laced every building and
walkway produced the most elaborate demonstration of electric illumination ever attempted
(254). Larson says the lamps laced the walkways in the white city which allows readers to
picture the city in a whimsical way. The feeling of the word laced sits with readers in a positive
way. Thus, Larson can achieve the purpose of forcing readers to see the white city in a luxurious
fashion. Also, Larson mentions that the lighting was elaborate. Readers see the white city as a
sophisticated and lavish place rather than how they see the black city. Larson again is able to
persuade readers into believing the magic of the white city. Larson calls upon imagery to construct
the two sides of Chicago. Larson deploys juxtaposition to build the two views of Chicago. Larson

Flaubert s use of flowers distinguishes Emma s desires from her reality and her behavior from the

Jesus Is The Name Of The Word
Jesus is the name we often used in English translation but comes from the Latin form of the Greek
name Joshua. The name also related to the Hebrew verb root and its noun forms Yesua, which
means deliver. The name is also related to the Old Testament term YHWH saves.
Therefore, the exact term Savior appears first, and is spoken by the Samaritans in John 4:42. The
title Nazarene applied to Jesus has been also used to describe Christians in Syria and Arabic
traditions. Although some of the terms and titles referring to Jesus in both New and Old Testament

The birth of Jesus, on the other hand, counterbalanced the fall of Adam, bringing forth redemption
and repairing the damage done by Adam.
The theme is reiterated by Paul, in Romans 5:18 21, when he states:
Therefore just as one man s trespass led to condemnation for all, so one man s act of
righteousness leads to justification and life for all. For just as by the one man s disobedience the
many were made sinners, so by the one man s obedience the many will be made righteous. But law
came in, with the result that the trespass multiplied; but where sin increased, grace abounded all the
more, so that, just as sin exercised dominion in death, so grace might also exercise dominion

Second of all, Jesus referring as lord is the ultimate reason that I put on my faith and surround

Modern Sensibility In The Tempest By William Shakespeare
Many people argue that among the many literary works composed by William Shakespeare the
tempest treats issues that revolve around reconciliation, forgiveness, and faith in the future
generation. Making use of character Prospero, the Author was able to develop the major themes
of the play that in broader context overthrow the Great chain of being and adopt a modern
sensibility. To be in a position of exposing how Shakespeare addresses the mentioned theme, a
consideration of a thesis statement that attitudes and actions of the main characters in play define
the implication a play has on society. To facilitate an extrapolation of the thesis in consideration,
I will first explain what is meant by the modern sensibility. In connection with artistic or social
activities, modern sensibility refers to an understanding or the ability to decide what is useful and
valuable. In a social setting application, modern sensibility is a way of understanding things to
the social ideals of an earlier age. Making use of character Prospero, the author shows how the
ideologies of an individual assume a different direction after suffering some of the transformation
in the society. As the play kicks off, Prospero s conduct displays a contradiction from the basic
tenets of Christian forgiveness. Depending on his good fortune, the character seizes the opportunity
to take vengeance of his enemy. The passage that presents the central focus of the book is one that
Prospero hopes that his plan to

pleased with how Jeanne Duprau developed the main characters by giving them realistic struggles
like how Doon was struggling to control his anger issues, and how Lina s curiosity and rash
decision making still tended to cause trouble. Which leads to the next reason why enjoyed the
book which was because it stays true to its original characters, and puts them in an entirely
different situation. In the first book Lina and Doon who are the main protagonists in the book had
to find their way out of Ember because of its depleting resources, and had to use their

Comparing The Walking Man And T. E. U. L. A.

Fixed Dynamism Two sculptures, among others, lie in the outskirts of the Franklin D. Murphy
Sculpture Garden at UCLA. One of them, The Walking Man, is a bronze sculpture created by
French sculptor Auguste Rodin in 1905. The other, made more than 100 years later, is
T.E.U.C.L.A., a large scale steel sculpturemade by minimalist sculptor Richard Serra. Although it
may seem like these works have more differences than similarities, both emphasize the processes
of their creation and are major movements away from the classical tradition of sculpture.
However, The Walking Man and T.E.U.C.L.A. also differ in several aspects that reflect their
respective artists personal portrayals of modern sculpture. These aspects include: mode of
production, composition and the arrangement of volumes, the play of light and shadow, and visual
experience. Together these elements of formal organization work together to convey meaning in
both of these works. Rodin s deliberate rejection of refinement and disregard for the direct
translation of the unformed to formed in The Walking Man represent the process and spontaneity
of reality, while Serra s use of curvature and aperture in T.E.U.C.L.A. models the spaces people
move through and the perceptive skills they use in life and nature. Although both of these works
are in the round, they are visually and compositionally very different. The Walking Man is a bronze
sculpture of a headless and armless figure

Case Study On Talent Management
Business Case analysis
A Talent Management Strategy
Talent management involves a series of steps, seeking then strategizing. Talent management ensures
staff skills are nurtured. Otherwise, employees feel wasted and eventually opt to move, taking with
them valuable skills (Knowhow Nonprofit, Talent, and succession management,). Before the
commencement of the talent management process, a leaders meeting should be held to identity that
competences are integral and primary in steering the organization in a forward direction (Webster,
2008). It involves identifying the strengths of each to know which to keep and which to let go
(Cannon and McGee, 2002, p. 11). Once identified, the next step is maintaining them and
facilitating their growth. Instead of seeking to hire new members, which may be time and resource
consuming, it would be more appropriate to improve the already existing talents.

Great pioneers and transformational pioneers use different routines to perform this. Janet Angelo s
conduct shows attention. Then again, starting structure has yet to be seen by her. Janet needs to
assess her current circumstance, particularly the safety she is experiencing. This will permit her to
change her authority style to achieve the distinctive stakeholders inside the organization. She will at
present experience some safety however there she will be prepared for it and counter it. Utilizing
the Path Goal Theory in blend with her attributes and transformational initiative, Janet will increase
regard from her official group which ought to then move down through whatever remains of the
organization. Transformational pioneers can shape a key vision of a reasonable and gainful future
for an organization. This thus unites employees and centers their vitality to a hierarchical objective

The Theory Of Atomic Theory Essay
Emily Elliott
Scientists who Contributed to Atomic Theory
20 September 20 What is Atomic Theory? Atomic theory is the theory that all matter is made up of
tiny indivisible particles called atoms. This paper will discuss its beginnings and some of the
scientists who made major contributions to how it is defined today.
Background
Since the earliest of times, scientists and philosophers have known that the universe is more than
just what it appears to be, but instead there is a deeper, more complex makeup beneath the surface.
The ancient Greeks called it the four elements 2, though some, like Democritus, believed that
everything was made of tiny indivisible particles called atoms.3 Later, however, with advancements
in technology, scientists such as John Dalton, JJ Thomson, Ernest Rutherford, and James Chadwick
were able to prove the existence of an indivisible particle with a dense, positively charged nucleus
consisting of protons and neutrons with electrons orbiting the nucleus.1 With this knowledge,
others were able to dig deeper, and discover so much more about atomic theory, such as Brown s
equation for the motion of an electron,6 Dirac s discovery of the positron,11 Fermi s research in
nuclear fission to create the atomic bomb,13 and Gell Mann s discovery of the quark.14 Each
discovery made by these men has shaped the world in some way or another, and even now more
discoveries are being made, but only because of the foundation laid out by those who set atomic

Self Observation Of A Self
Throughout my self observation, I felt the need to start with a baseline of who I am. Being
raised in the south I learned to respect myself and others, but sometimes people are just right
down obnoxious. Also, I hold myself to high standards because there s no reason why I cannot
make my goals a reality if I give it my all. This is known as Self Concept: The relatively stable set
of perceptions you hold of yourself. (Page 63) For example, in my observationI notice my patience
level is very thin for people who do not have respect for other s education. There s one girl in
particular yesterday, who texted the whole class, which my nursing class is from 8:30am to
2pm. Therefore, as I m trying to listen and highlight in my book, only thing I hear is the sound
of her long nails tapping on her keyboard or her phone vibrating. Than during break she wants to
ask me for the notes, because the teacher was moving too fast. Since this is still the first couple
of weeks of school, I try to be a little more understanding, but I will not do someone s work just
for them not to pay attention. Therefore today, when the test came around I had studied my butt
off and scored very well. But for the girl that sits next to me, she complained that the test was too
hard and how we didn t have the appropriate information to study for the test. In that moment, I
found myself comparing our differences, I work hard for my grades. I study and work my butt off
then there s those people that don t do anything in class but are the first ones to complain. The book
recognized this as Social Comparison: Evaluating ourselves in terms of how we compare with
others. (Page 66) Throughout the rest of my day, I noticed I compare myself to a lot of different
people without even noticing. Like when I was driving home I saw all these people texting and
driving, and I just could not help thinking like what the heck, I can t even look to the side without
going into the other line so how in the world are they texting! I do not compare myself to other to
prove whose better but I believe it just natural to compare others to yourself.
While at home, I observe the unreserved self more than while am at school where I trend to be a
little reserved. I

  • 3. Symbolism In Beata Rossetti In a symbol there is concealment and yet revelation Thomas Carlyle Solving of the problem of love and death was an implication of the symbolists ideal view. On the one side, passionate love, which boarders with being demРѕnic, that leР°ds lРѕvers to dРµath, Р°nd the dРµath itself, that Рѕpens the doors to new life, making the lovers immortal. The idea of expressing interrelation of these two concepts, crucially important for symbolism, that lies in the artwork Beata Beatrix made by Dante Gabriel Rossetti. The subject of this artwork is the scene from the emotionally autobiographical work of Dante Alighieri La Vita Nuova , at the moment of Beatrice Portinari s death, who the author loved deeply. Rossetti depicts the moment of Beatrice s death on her parents balcony in 1290, however, for the artist this scene means much more, than just a visual interpretation of a scene from a book. Things you d expect when you re in royalty, particularly a princess . A typical princess would be portrayed as elegant, classy and stylish. Her facial expression in the first print advert is sort of a smile however not completely she still has a look of determination and she connects with the audience as there is direct mode of address. This could mean there is an element of mystery as she has decided not to smile fully. Similarly, in the second picture she s looking at the camera with her sharp eyes and this time her mouth is a bit open, forming almost a smile. Yet again there is something which is keeping her from showing a full smile, this perhaps could be her status showing she s a strong character and doesn t have to prove her emotions to everybody yet at the same time she has to look inviting. Her costume in both pictures are very fantasy looking (as if she just walked out of a fairy tale). It s very elegant and puffy, it looks expensive and this would be expected if she is a princess. They tend to have the biggest impact during transformational periods. In order for change to be present in any organization, the leader must first identify and be able to stabilize both culture and climate components. While organizational climate has been around for some time now, organizational climate is a relatively recent development. (Papa, M.J., Daniels, T.D., Spiker, B.K. (2008) Description Organizational culture is a system of shared assumptions, values and beliefs that governs how people behave in organizations. The culture of an organization provides boundaries and guidelines that help members of the organization know the correct way to perform their jobs. (McLaughlin, John) Organizational climate is the umbrella term to indicate the process of quantifying the organizational culture of an organization. It is a set of properties of the work environment, perceived directly or indirectly by the employees, that is assumed to be a major force in influencing employee behavior. Organizational climate can also be defined as the recurring patterns of behavior, attitudes and feelings that characterize life in the organization. Homosexuals have had a hard time coming out and making that first step to accept themselves. The other part is actually coming out to their peers, family, and friends and for them to accept him as well. There are many obstacles when it comes to coming out and when it relates to Judaism. According to information published by The Jewish People Policy Planning Institute, there were around 13.1 million Jewish people in the world in 2007, most residing in the USA and Israel. According to the 2001 census 267,000 people in the UK said that their religious identity was Jewish, about 0.5% of the population ( Judaism at a Glance ). As the Jewish population is slowly increasing, homosexual Jews will be partially accepted and loved, but there desires is what is frowned upon in Judaism law. Their desires can lead they to make wrong choices that will eventually lead to health related issues that will affect them even further. Not only will doing this likely help keep them occupied, but it will also likely encourage them to (a) read books themselves and (b) possess a more extensive imagination essentially enabling them to make up and tell their own stories thus enabling them to entertain themselves in a vast majority of uninteresting environments or situations. Other parents may say they travel too often for work and are never home enough to read to their children. A suggestion for these parents would be to record themselves reading the book during the day and then have someone else (such as a grandparent, babysitter, or whoever is staying with him or her while they are away) play it back for them in the evening before they go to bed. Wives were once known to be their husbands possession, giving the husband ownership of her body which in turn gives him the right to have sex with them without her permission. The law back in history once said, a man cannot rapehis wife, because when they get married, the marriagegives the husband consent to sexual intercourse. It was said rape only happens by an acquaintance or a stranger outside the marriage. John Rightout was the first husband to be convicted of raping his wife. Righout versus the State of Oregon put the marital rape law into action. In 1993, all states considered marital rape to be a crime, but 33 states placed certain exemptions such as: if the wife was sleeping if she was unconscious or physically weak and if she was legally unable to consent to having sex with her husband when concerning prosecutions of raping a wife. The beginning of her discussion surrounding the topic of beauty and the reason women are seemingly so obsessed with it was presented in a way that I have never considered myself. The idea that the media and culture surrounding women is one of a purposeful preoccupation with beauty and the conceived notions of what that means is very striking. To continue the discussion about her idea surrounding women and girls and their preoccupation with beauty standards it is easy to segue the conversation into the dangers of this preoccupation. The numerous repercussions of this preoccupation with unrealistic beauty standards is manifested in both physical and mental effects. Based on this definition, judging bad leaders in this term should be considered just by their results as good leaders will essentially lead to good results and bad leaders will lead to bad results. In this essay, the difference of describing two famous bad leaders of the ancient Rome, Caligula and Nero, written by two authors, Tacitus and Suetonius, are mentioned in details to see if they are judged rightly. Therefore, it can be seen if the two bad leaders are unfair, or they had some good results in that time or after. The first bad leader that is introduced is the Emperor of Rome Gaius, mostly known as Caligula. • 21. Women s Status Of Inferiority In pre Islamic societies, women were held in high regards as matriarchal communities widely existed. Their biology, with its ability to reproduce, enabled women to be worshipped for they were the principle of creating life; this fact opposed androcentric theories that state how the nature of women dictated a status of inferiority (Ahmed 11). However, as many scholars and theorists have noted, the decline of women s status in pre Islamic societies was likely from urbanization. As warfare increased from city states expanding their territories, warrior culture generated male dominance, and the reproductive capacity of women were looked to for providing labor power, making them be seen as property (Ahmed 12). In many instances, the rise of urban societies negatively affected women as Leila Ahmed stated in Women and Gender in Islam and as demonstrated in late Sumerian, Babylonian, and Assyrian cultures. The complexities of these civilizations produced military competitiveness, escalating the aspects of male dominance and classes that further demeaned women (Ahmed 12). However, the rise of Islam rectified the unjust social constructs as women were given more independence, being considered equals and companions to men. And nevertheless, unlike any other conscious being, we have to live with the realization, that this will is going to be frustrated, that this will all end, that we will die. Furthermore, we have to live with the sense that our lives, our conscience, will no longer exist the worst thing that could perhaps happen to us, our will. This is the true meaning of what is means to be mortal. So, it is fully logical to see why some would want to live forever, to become immortal. For instance, on one side of a spectrum, there is the non humananimals, which possess the same will as humans but do not possess the knowledge of death. This means, that since they are not aware of death, they are then immortal. Another example, on the other side of the spectrum are the gods or higher beings, which are immortal, because they are aware of death but they do not die. Right in the middle of the spectrum, there are humans, possessing both the will to live and the the knowledge of death. Like all people, we recognize the version of reality that our culture communicates. The coming together of two self consistent but habitually incompatible frames of reference causes a cultural collision. • 33. Solving Multi Criteria Decision Making Problems There are several methods to solve multi criteria decision making problems. Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) and Analytic Network Process (ANP) are two methods created by Tomas Saaty. AHP endeavor to solve the decision making problem by formed it in a hierarchy while ANP is used when the problem is so complex that cannot be formed as a hierarchy. This complexity happens because of the effect of criteria between each other or the effect of alternatives on criteria. Generally we can say The Analytic Network Process is a generalization of the Analytic Hierarchy Process. The ANP approach can be comprises in to four steps [87]: Step 1: Model construction and problem structuring: The problem should be stated clearly and decomposed into a rational system like a network Step 2: Pairwise comparisons and priority vectors: In ANP, like AHP, pairs of decision elements at each cluster are compared with respect to their importance towards their control criteria. Furthermore, interdependencies among criteria of a cluster must also be treated pairwise; thus the influence of each element on other elements can be represented by an eigenvector. The relative importance values are determined with Saaty s nine scales. Step 3: Supermatrix structure: the Supermatrix concept is similar to the Markov chain process. To obtain global priorities in a system with interdependent influences, the local priority vectors are entered in the appropriate columns of a matrix. As a result, a supermatrix is ... When the World Fair was finished, Larson described the nights, the lamps that laced every building and walkway produced the most elaborate demonstration of electric illumination ever attempted (254). Larson says the lamps laced the walkways in the white city which allows readers to picture the city in a whimsical way. The feeling of the word laced sits with readers in a positive way. Thus, Larson can achieve the purpose of forcing readers to see the white city in a luxurious fashion. Also, Larson mentions that the lighting was elaborate. Modern Sensibility In The Tempest By William Shakespeare Many people argue that among the many literary works composed by William Shakespeare the tempest treats issues that revolve around reconciliation, forgiveness, and faith in the future generation. Making use of character Prospero, the Author was able to develop the major themes of the play that in broader context overthrow the Great chain of being and adopt a modern sensibility. To be in a position of exposing how Shakespeare addresses the mentioned theme, a consideration of a thesis statement that attitudes and actions of the main characters in play define the implication a play has on society. To facilitate an extrapolation of the thesis in consideration, I will first explain what is meant by the modern sensibility. In connection with artistic or social activities, modern sensibility refers to an understanding or the ability to decide what is useful and valuable. In a social setting application, modern sensibility is a way of understanding things to the social ideals of an earlier age. Making use of character Prospero, the author shows how the ideologies of an individual assume a different direction after suffering some of the transformation in the society. As the play kicks off, Prospero s conduct displays a contradiction from the basic tenets of Christian forgiveness. The ancient Greeks called it the four elements 2, though some, like Democritus, believed that everything was made of tiny indivisible particles called atoms.3 Later, however, with advancements in technology, scientists such as John Dalton, JJ Thomson, Ernest Rutherford, and James Chadwick were able to prove the existence of an indivisible particle with a dense, positively charged nucleus consisting of protons and neutrons with electrons orbiting the nucleus.1 With this knowledge, others were able to dig deeper, and discover so much more about atomic theory, such as Brown s equation for the motion of an electron,6 Dirac s discovery of the positron,11 Fermi s research in nuclear fission to create the atomic bomb,13 and Gell Mann s discovery of the quark.14 Each discovery made by these men has shaped the world in some way or another, and even now more discoveries are being made, but only because of the foundation laid out by those who set atomic ... • 48. Self Observation Of A Self Throughout my self observation, I felt the need to start with a baseline of who I am. Being raised in the south I learned to respect myself and others, but sometimes people are just right down obnoxious. Also, I hold myself to high standards because there s no reason why I cannot make my goals a reality if I give it my all. This is known as Self Concept: The relatively stable set of perceptions you hold of yourself. (Page 63) For example, in my observationI notice my patience level is very thin for people who do not have respect for other s education. There s one girl in particular yesterday, who texted the whole class, which my nursing class is from 8:30am to 2pm. Therefore, as I m trying to listen and highlight in my book, only thing I hear is the sound of her long nails tapping on her keyboard or her phone vibrating. Than during break she wants to ask me for the notes, because the teacher was moving too fast. Since this is still the first couple of weeks of school, I try to be a little more understanding, but I will not do someone s work just for them not to pay attention. Therefore today, when the test came around I had studied my butt off and scored very well. But for the girl that sits next to me, she complained that the test was too hard and how we didn t have the appropriate information to study for the test. In that moment, I found myself comparing our differences, I work hard for my grades. I study and work my butt off then there s those people that don t do anything in class but are the first ones to complain. The book recognized this as Social Comparison: Evaluating ourselves in terms of how we compare with others. (Page 66) Throughout the rest of my day, I noticed I compare myself to a lot of different people without even noticing. Like when I was driving home I saw all these people texting and driving, and I just could not help thinking like what the heck, I can t even look to the side without going into the other line so how in the world are they texting! I do not compare myself to other to prove whose better but I believe it just natural to compare others to yourself. While at home, I observe the unreserved self more than while am at school where I trend to be a little reserved. I ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
