Life Cycle And Its Effects On Life Cycles
Salamanders, also known as the urodeles, are one of the few amphiabians that keep their tails during
the process of being an adult. Their life cycle begins as being eggs within the environment of water,
soon to be evolved to larvas. These larvas are basically developing into the stage of being a full adult.
Typically when most people think of regeneration, the thought of rebuilding comes into mind. In the
same respect, a salamander possesses this ability and uses it to their advantage. Regeneration is the
process of rebuilding certain cells, tissues or limbs. It s an intricate progression that allows different
animals to survive against their predators. Regeneration allows the salamander to escape their
predators by losing an appendage, with the hope of preventing capture and subsequent consumption.
Salamander regeneration holds so much value to the world and it s surrounding life cycles. This
overpowering ability is being overlooked, yet at the same time imagine how renowned it would be if
we can link a gene that would aid with our regenerating gene. At a young age, we are all born with the
ability to regenerate; we are able to regenerate our fingertips until the age of three...now try to apply
that to future of regenerative therapy and medicine. Imagine how many benefits would be distributed
amongst our cells, our organs, and the list goes on. The underlying process that goes with regeneration
is the genetic materials; retinoic acid (MSX1) and taxon specific proteins such

Millions of people around the globe immigrate into...
Millions of people around the globe immigrate into different countries every year. For some people,
moving to a new place can be about taking on a different career opportunity, following a love interest,
or reuniting with family. While for others, immigration is necessary to survive. It is not a simple
choice, but rather a struggle to escape the horrors in their own country. There are numerous nations
that welcome immigrants and refugees with open arms, but many do not. Picking up your life and
traveling to a new country is hard even in the most accepting of places. For example, in the US, there
are varieties of cultures and people from all over the world, making it one of the most desirable places
for immigrants. Yet, even still, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While these regulations were eventually lessened by the following Prime Minister, the events led to an
increase in French nationalism among the natives and new assimilation policies. In 2003, the French
government made an attempt to integrate the immigrants by requiring them to sign a contract when
entering the country. By signing the contract, immigrants agree to undergo language training and
instruction on the values of French society, (Zappi). If they passed, they received a ten year permit, but
if they failed then they only got a one year permit. Essentially, the French were trying to protect their
home culture by forcing the immigrants to let go of their native cultures and become more French.
When immigrating to a new country, there are many stages of acculturation that a person must go
through. At first everything is wonderful and amazing, but soon, homesickness and longing for the
home culture sets in. The attitudes and mindsets of the host culture can play a huge role in whether
person acculturates successfully or slips into culture shock. If you are able to make friends in your
host culture who can help you assimilate, then you are more likely to be happy in your new home.
However, in France, many people are unfriendly to foreigners and very unwilling to help them. For
Americans, when going into a French restaurant, even though the waiter may know how to speak

Against Reinstating the Military Draft Essay
Against Reinstating the Military Draft On July 1, 1973, Congress chose to end the draft in favor of an
All Volunteer Army. According to The Professional Bulletin of Army History, No. 27, the last man
was drafted in December 1972 and reported for training in June 1973. Now, not only might the
renewed military draft come back but also the age of compulsory service in the meat grinder might be
extended from its former limit of 26 years up to 42 years of age. As Ken Adachi, the editor of ?
Educate Yourself,? reports, a new draft will include BOTH men and women. While at various points
in history the United States military has operated effectively and efficiently with the draft, reinstating
the draft would contradict the ideals of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Post 9 11 military enlistment numbers spiked because individuals wanted to serve and protect our
recently attacked country and our way of life. If individuals are forced to participate in a military
campaign, the government will be relieved of one of the checks that help prevent them from engaging
in unpopular or unwarranted campaigns. Sure, the government makes us do all sorts of things: serve
on juries, pay taxes, have a driver?s license. When the government requires possession of a driver?s
license it is for our own security, to make sure that only those who are capable to drive are on the road.
When we are being asked to serve on jury, it is for our interest as well. As a society, we get to take a
part in a legal decision and make sure that justice is done in our country. Even the requirement to pay
taxes eventually is for our interest. The tax money helps the government to do things for us as a
society, such as financing culture events, helping elders and people in need. However, asking us to risk
our lives for something that not all citizens believe worth fighting for is not in our interest. People
should not be forced to enlist in the army, which is one reason why we should not reinstate the
military draft. In other words, since we live in a country based on freedom, the government should not
take away our right to decide if we want to fight or not. We should not be forced to fight a war. We
should not be forced into the meat grinder and possibly killed

Essay on Hydrogen Car Power of the Future
Hydrogen: Car Power of the Future Abstract Recent years have shown an increasingly large need for a
practical renewable energy source for such reasons as diminishing fossil fuels and increases in
greenhouse gasses. Hydrogen appears to be a way out of this gasoline dug hole, or at least, a way out
in the future. Hydrogen fuel cell cars are being engineered as we speak as the technologies to refuel
them cleanly are being proposed. Unfortunately, most of the technologies associated with hydrogen
are still in the prototype/pre production stages and require better enhancements before becoming
mainstream. This paper assesses the practicality of hydrogen power in cars both now and in the future
while explicating the actual process of how a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Hydrogen is comprised of a Hydrogen: Car Power 3 small, positively charged proton with a
negatively charged electron orbiting very fast, a model analogous to the earth orbiting the sun, or the
moon orbiting the earth. Fuel cells take advantage of this structure. Using a membrane and a catalyst,
hydrogen is broken up into a proton and an electron. While there are many different membrane models
for fuel cells, the most appropriate one for car travel is the Polymer Electrolyte Membrane (PEM, also
called the Proton Exchange Membrane). It is called this because protons are able to easily pass
through the membrane. However, because the membrane does not allow electrons to pass through it,
the electrons take a detour through an electrical circuit to the other side of the cell. If hydrogen is
supplied into the cell at a steady rate, the stream of electrons in the electrical circuit creates electric
power. However, like all batteries, you need a positive end (cathode) and a negative end (anode); in
other words, the hydrogen atoms must have a reason to make this electrical circuit. And what is this
reason? Oxygen. With oxygen at the other end, hydrogen is more than willing to create this current so
that it can bind and form H2O, or water on the other end. Unfortunately, one fuel cell alone produces
less than 1.16 volts, which can t really do much on its own. However, when dozens or even hundreds
of fuel cells are lined up together

Edward Hopper Painted The Night Hawks
In 1942, American artist Edward Hopper painted The Night Hawks. This oil painting, is a 33 1/8th in.
x 60 in. piece. Hopper used oil paint on canvas, to create this piece. Currently this piece is located at
the Art Institute of Chicago. In The Night Hawks, a city diner is depicted sometime at night. The
buildings and diner design, are consistent with a city setting. Within the diner, there are 4 people
present. Three of these people appear to be customers, while the other is working at the diner. There
are three men present in the picture, and one woman. Due to the clothes they are wearing, we know
that this diner is set sometime before 1960. After looking at the painting, I believe that this is either an
exact depiction of a real life diner, or the painting was inspired by a real life diner. Within this
painting, there are many different elements of design that Hopper uses to create this scene. The first
element of design within this painting is, the use of light and shadows. Hopper uses light and shadows,
to create the visual of nighttime within the painting. Within the restaurant, very bright colors are used
to create the walls. Using light colors in this way, makes it appear as if the walls of the diner are
reflecting light. In addition, the countertop within the diner appears to be glossy, and has reflections in
it. This effect also aids in making the illusion of light within the diner. Outside of the dinner, light can
be seen on the buildings across the street. This

Essay On Sulfur Dioxide In Environment
The Sulfur Dioxide in Environment
The sulfur dioxide was regarded as the acknowledged toxic gas, and is also one of main factors for
acid rain. Due to its severe toxicity, the major pollution incidents have even happened in human
beings history. During 1st December and 15th December 1930, the toxic gases including the sulfur
dioxide caused great loss for Meuse Valley in Belgium. The toxic gases led to thousands of people in
the industrial zone of Meuse Valley were catched with respiratory diseases, and nearly 63 people were
dead within a week . ( Benery B, HoetPH, Nemmar A. 2001) Additionally, many livestocks also could
not survived and died of the toxic gases. In the incident, the mixture of SO2 and SO3 were the main
dioxide smog. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
And the production process and process operation can also release certain sulfur dioxide. In daily life,
the automobile exhaust also contain certain sulfur dioxide. With the popularization of automobile, the
automobile exhaust has been one of main pollution sources for the environment.
The sulfur dioxide has great detriment for plants and human beings. Its toxicity is large and has
corrosivity and decomposability. Sulphur is a highly noxious venom for people s health, although we
can be more resistant than other creatures that live with us. For example, the level of 0,3 µg per cubic
metre of air implies a potential risk for human health, but for trees, 0,2 µg is extremely dangerous. In
1956, the London smog (caused by sulfuric acid mist) led to more than 4700 deaths. The pollution of
sulfur dioxide has direct effect on human beings and animals life. When human body absorbs the
sulfur trioxide or sulfuric acid mist formed by sulfur dioxide, its stimulation and detriment would be
more significant, even though its density is only 1/10 of sulfur dioxide. Some experiments have
proved that the physiological reaction caused by sulfuric acid mist is four times of sulfur dioxide. If he
density of sulfur dioxide increases double each year, the death rate would increase by 11%.
The sulfur dioxide not only has detriment for human begins and animals, but also has detriment for
plants. There has been experiment on the effect of sulfur dioxide on tomato. Sulphur

2004, along with the newly created series, the second Saw movie was released October 28 2005,
almost a year after the first movie of the series was released. The Saw movies are an established
movie franchise. These movies are very dark as well as gory, which appeal to those who are fond of
graphic horror. The first Saw movies was directed and written by James Wan, the second Saw movie
was directed by Darren Lynn Bousman. When watching the two Saw movies, the audience can spot
the differences between them. Each movie has a few similar characters. The main characters in Saw I
as well as Saw II are as follows: Tobin Bell, as John Kramer/Jigsaw, Dina Meyer, Detective Allison
Kerry, and Shawnee Smith, Amanda Young. These characters were constant between the first two Saw
movies. The Saw series is known as movies that over uses gore for some parts of the movie;
nonetheless, the use of the gore causes the movie to be more intense for the audience watching.
In the first Saw movie, the movie starts, the audience is looking at a dark screen. They notice a man
under water, opening his eyes and rises from the water and screams. The audience then finds out that
there is another man in the room, but they do not know who either of these men are. As the movie
goes on, the audience acquires some background information about both men. They learn the man in

Texas Tech University Application Research Paper
Throughout my life, I have most definitely been driven to assist my community or others in need. I
have been able to set aside time and put forth effort when it was necessary. Along my years in junior
high and high school, I have assisted my community by collecting cans for our local food bank,
providing food for our veterans, cleaning the church area, helping with local food fundraisers, taking
down Christmas trees for the public, and other activities. This has affected me in an influential way
and made me realize that devoting time to other activities or people is greatly appreciated and
beneficial. Although there may not be a reward given, the simple satisfaction of knowing you
volunteered willingly is enough. For my future, I wish to attend Texas Tech University and take the
required courses in order to attain a masters degree in nursing. With this degree, it will allow me to
pursue a career in the medical field to become a certified nurse midwife. Because I will be continuing
my education in the Lubbock area, I intend to begin my career and maintain an occupation in the same

Are Different Forms Of Discipline More Useful Or Harmful...
Discipline is an act by which children learn standards of acceptable behavior and repercussions that
they can apply towards greater independence. Although verbal discipline is generally recognized as
being more appropriate for children, it may also carry emotionally damaging effects if practiced
irresponsibly. Physical discipline is seen to be an unacceptable solution, because of the physical and
emotional risks to the child. The goal of effective discipline is to ensure acceptable and appropriate
behavior in children and to raise mature adults who will make great decisions in life. So, are physical
and verbal forms of discipline more helpful or harmful to children?
Discipline is a word that many people including adults and children do not fully understand. Kids see
discipline as punishment when they are told that they are bad or if they receive physical harm.
Punishment can be positive when there is an added behavior, or negative when there is a behavior that
is taken away. For example, a positive form of punishment is if a parent gives a child his or her
favorite snack in order for them to remember to use the phrases please and thank you in their everyday
language. A negative punishment is if a child misbehaves in school and get his or her toys taken away.
On the contrary, discipline is about guiding and teaching children so that they will make good
decisions and learn to control themselves. Discipline offers the child an opportunity to do the right
thing, and it

How Stressful Life Experiences Affect A Child s Emotional...
This annotated bibliography covers six journal, reports and articles associated with the subject of how
stressful life experiences can affect a child s emotional development, what role the schools play in a
child s emotional development and how there is a need for the Department of Education to
commission a sector body to develop a framework of core content for initial teacher training (ITT),
which should include child and adolescent development.
A child s emotional development is a complex, multifaceted process and one which many interaction
partners play a role. To teach effectively, trainee teachers need to understand child development
expectations at different stages of development together with issues that can have an impact on the
child s progress.
The research literature has accentuated the association between stressful experiences and
psychological dysfunction in children and evidence has been found which suggests that there is a need
for continuity across Initial teacher training institutes. ITT should be an environment for new teachers
to learn from the best teachers, introducing them to essential skills, knowledge and understanding that
all teachers require in order to continuously improve the opportunities and outcomes of young people.
The authors of this study compared the judgements of trainee teachers with the responses of young
children regarding their perceptions of student stress. The study compiled questions such as: Does

What To Do About Ethnic Cleans Essay
WHAT TO DO ABOUT ETHNIC CLEANSING?
BACKGROUND PAPER
In 1994, unrest swept through the Maryland sized African nation of Rwanda. Thousands of Hutu
extremists launched a massive assault on the Tutsi, who traditionally make up Rwanda s upper class,
killing hundreds of thousands of innocent people (Night Rider amp;#8211; most days ;). The United
States immediately responded to this slaughter by turning the other way, denying that a problem
existed until years after the genocide had ceased. In 1999, ethnic cleansing (hostility between ethnic
groups) broke out in Kosovo in a less severe form. This time, instead of being killed, the Kosovars
were driven out of their homes and neighborhoods. This time, United ... Show more content on

This intended military escort function of the international community was averted, because of the
sudden and quite peaceful march homeward of the Rwandans before the coalition had mobilized. Had
the military escort occurred, there would have been potential for escalation of the Rwandan problem
into an international military crisis, should bloodshed of any kind have erupted during the long march
home of the refugees (Whaley). This potential for explosion of what some see as a nation s domestic
concern into military action crossing international lines is what can deadlock the strategists,
sometimes permitting ethnic cleansing to be substantially completed before a resolution can be
endorsed by all nations concerned about the matter.
Although ethnic cleansing has been present throughout history, we are only in the last century really
starting to acknowledge it as an issue that needs to be definitively dealt with on a global scale. The
incident that caused ethnic cleansing to be a major international issue was Adolph Hitler s extreme
ethnic cleansing of the Jewish, which made the rest of the world realize that if SOMETHING was not
done, the problem could spread to engulf the entire world. Especially in recent years, with the major
world powers militaries sitting, these countries are now starting to intervene in other countries ethnic
issues, such as Bosnia, Germany, Iraq, and Kosovo, as

Theme Of Death In Sula
Often times in literature, the inevitability of death tends to be ignored or put aside. Throughout the
novel Sula, Toni Morrison is often, if not always, talking about death and she reflects her own concept
of what it is and what it does to us, humans. Death to her is that constant idea that is always
controlling us and influences our acts and choices on our day to day life. Shadrak for example who is
controlled by that idea, established a special day to raise awareness about suicide because the thought
of death is always running through his head. Death s influence in the choices we tend to make are
evident throughout the whole book but the idea goes specially, hand in hand, with the character of
Sula. Toni Morrison creates this woman ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Overall, it is a topic that is talked a lot about in the Medallion and if there is one of the inhabitants of
that community that is tortured by that idea, is Shadrack. He knew the smell of death and was terrified
of it, for he could not anticipate it. It was not death or dying that frightened him, but the
unexpectedness of both. In sorting it all out, he hit on the notion that if one day a year were devoted to
it, everybody could get it out of the way and the rest of the year would be safe and free. In this manner
he instituted National Suicide Day (Page 28). With this quote, Toni Morrison manages to portray the
massive fear death imposes in people now days. On the other side, while there are some who decide to
suffer due to the fact that sooner or later we are going to die, others get the best of this life and don t
let anything stop them from enjoying it. Take as an example Sula who despite society s expectations
and standards, leaves the Medallion to study, conscious that she will be more happy if she does. Aware
that this life is too short Sula chooses to do what makes her not so miserable. This sort of You only
live once ideal, which Sula follows, is all based and inspired in death. As I mentioned at the
beginning, in literature, the inevitability of death tends to be ignored or put aside but Morrison
ingeniously reminds us nothing in this

Romero Movie Analysis Of The Movie
The movie Romero portrays the life of Archbishop Oscar Romero of El Salvador. Romero (1917
1980) was assassinated because of his protests against the horrors the government did against the
people of El Salvador. I enjoyed this movie because of the deep themes and meanings that were
revealed throughout. There was no fluff in this movie, and it boldly showed graphic images and scenes
that portrayed the reality of the situation in El Salvador. Although there were times that some of the
subplots were confusing, the overall plot of the movie was straightforward and easy to understand.
The movie begins with a priest, Father Grande, encouraging the poor people to vote, but the voters are
shot at by guerilla soldiers and the soldiers force the people to walk through the danger. This active
work of the priest is observed by Romero who seems to disapprove of the Father Grande s disruption.
At the beginning of the movie, Romero is quiet, submissive, and does not like to disturb the waters of
thinly held peace. These traits earn him the spot of Archbishop of El Salvador because the church
leaders think he will remain uninvolved in political affairs.
Despite the leaders hopes, this changes when Father Grande is killed. Romero begins to fully realize
the horrors of the government, and he starts to take a stand for the people. He learns later that another
priest was captured by the government and tortured by the government. This indicates that the
government has little respect for the

Evaluate The Dopamine Theory
In the research presented by Howes and Kapur (2009), they have pointed out a possible concern to
invalidate the dopamine hypothesis in schizophrenia as current PET studies did not holding a firm
position in measure the dopamine level, they were more to a postulation of a generated estimation
from the data. Furthermore, Howes and Kapur (2009) also stressed that the role of dopamine could be
circumvented by using the antipsychotic drugs which effectively to the psychotic symptoms but
neutral to the dopamine system, thus the role of dopamine will be less critical in schizophrenia. This is
because most of the recent antipsychotic researches only prove that dopamine merely contributed in
providing a solution in alleviating the psychosis liked symptoms but those symptoms are not the
symptoms only existed in schizophrenia. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Another major problem with the dopamine theory is that it only takes into consideration a single
neurotransmitter and neglect the roles of other neurotransmitters in schizophrenia. The findings are
inconsistent where some findings proposed that the abnormality causes the availability of dopamine
transporters changed, and effect to the increased or decreased of dopamine level (Fusar Poli, and
Meyer Lindenberg, 2012), while some other findings suggested that there are other neurotransmitter
such as glutamine which involved in excitatory response in the brain has played a role in resulting
cognitive deficits of schizophrenia (Stone, Howes, Egerton, Kambeitz, Allen, Lythgoe, et al, 2010).
These assumptions have allowed researchers to implicate schizophrenia by using another pathway or

succeeds in delivering his message smoothly and innovatively throughout the story; one should
forever live to pursue his personal legend and never give up on his dream. (Coelho). The monomyth
applies to the main character of the novella, Santiago, a young Shepard with enough passion and will

Santiago makes it to Africa, where he looses all his money to a thief. He is now a strange person in a
strange land, helpless and penniless. At this point of his journey, Santiago was in real need for an
assistant to help his dream survive this challenge. Santiago starts to search for a way to get money and
luckily a crystal merchant struggling to keep his trade afloat hires him. Using omens, he brings new
ideas and enhances the merchant s business. As time passes, his dream of the treasure starts fading
away. Months go by, and the boy builds up quite a nest egg. The crystal merchant is a clear helper; he
gave Santiago a hand when he really needed it. At this stage, Santiago is once again split in choice; he
could return to Europe and double his sheep flock or try to peruse his dream again. Even though the
crystal merchant supported Santiago through his hard times, he also reflects a negative example for
the Shepard to avoid, as he is someone who gave up on his personal legend. This gives the boy an
enthusiastic push to get on a caravan and head to the pyramids. During this checkpoint, Santiago
learns Arabic and gains a great deal of money as well as experience, which really came in handy all

Relationship Between Cinema And Cinema
Architecture is a slow and mute medium that is experienced gradually and spatially, often presented to
us through a sequence of images. The mere arrangement of these images has a direct impact on the
way we experience and interact with a space, which is explicitly in conjunction with the discipline of
cinema. Cinema, as a fast and transparent medium, has an uncanny ability to magnify and augment
this spatial experience through the strategic manipulation of the composition seen within a frame. The
relationship between cinema and architecture is evident, on account that cinema employs the power of
a narrative to convey a meaningful message, and pictorial symbolism in its framing of architecture.
However, excluding the obvious parallels of composition and organization between the two forms of
art, they differ quite definitively on the basis of representation. As such, the presented approach
attempts to identify the relevant narrative concepts within architecture and cinema so as to reveal the
hidden undertone that may or may not directly influence our experience of a space. Storytelling, as a
form of narrative, is experienced cerebrally and has enabled cultures to immortalize their fables and
encounters. Architectural narratives, on the other hand, are experienced spatially, i.e. through a series
of physical patterns and concepts that articulate place and meaning within a physical structure. Per se,
architecture and architects, through the weaving of a compelling narrative,

A Speech On Nanotechnology
Nanotechnology is a term of two words: the first word is Nano and derives from the Greek word
Nanos and it means Dwarf or something very small. The second word is Technology and it means
applied application of knowledge in a certain field. So nanotechnology is the technology of very small
substances, and it specializes in treating the substance on the Nano measure to produce new, useful,
and unique resultants in its properties [22 23].The Nano is a unique measuring unit and from the
physical and mathematical point of view, the Nano equals one part of a billion of the measured unit.
The nanometer (nm) equals a part of a billion part of a meter. Thus, it is 10 9 of a meter. The Nano is
used as a measuring unit for very minute particles [24 26].

By changing the properties of the liquid phase (e.g. concentration, temperature, pH) adsorbed species
can be released from the surface and transferred back into the liquid phase. This reverse process is
referred to as desorption. Since adsorption is a surface process, the surface area is a key quality
parameter of adsorbents.
Engineering adsorbents are typically highly porous material with surface area in the range between
102 and 103 m2 /g. Their porosity allows realizing such large surfaces as internal surfaces constituted
by the pore walls. In contrast, the external surface is typically below 1 m2 /g and therefore of minor
relevance. As an example, the external surface of powdered activated carbon with a particle density of
0.6 g/cm3 and a particle radius of 0.02 mm is only 0.25 m2 /g.
However, adsorption is one of the promising methods to remove the dye pollutants from aqueous
system completely. It was, therefore, thought worthwhile to develop highly efficient and effective
adsorbents for the removal of dye from the textile

Effective Domain
Affective domain is the only domain that does not reflect what we teach our students as in specific
skills or knowledge, but more of how the students use the information that we have given them, and
then add in an emotional component. Not all students come from a caring, loving or compassionate
back ground or family life, so the classroom may be the place to start the learning of respect, positive
attitude and values necessary for a successful medical professional. The affective domain learning
brings the lesson into an active student centered learning environment where emotions can be a highly
motivating tool. Bloom s Taxonomy disseminates the affective domain into five learning levels;
receiving, responding, valuing, organizing, and characterizing. Although cognitive in nature, the first
or basic level is simply receiving the information, whether done by hearing, seeing or reading. Three
additional levels brings the student to the final level of characterizing, which is considered mastering
the domain. Characterization is obtained when the student s behavior pattern has inscribed the values
they have learned, allowing these values to enhanced their patient care. ... Show more content on

learning. This, I make sure the students are aware of on the very first

Comparing My Sister Ashleigh And I
My Sister Ashleigh and I
When I was growing up, we were a family of three siblings. I had one younger brother. And also I had
a sister, only a year younger than I was. Her name is Ashleigh. Our sister sister relationship is unique,
even though, we constantly change back and forth between loving and hating one another. My sister
and I have something in common; however, we are not similar in many ways.
To begin with, one thing which is common in me and Ashleigh is the love for cooking. During leisure
time I love to cook variety of dishes for my family and friends. One of the first reason that I fell in
love with cooking was that the food is the universal love language. People, no matter who they are,
need food to live. And everyone loves tasty food. For instance, nothing makes me feel better than
inviting my girlfriends around for an afternoon tea. I make them some healthy cupcakes and some
organic strawberries dipped in chocolate. We laugh, giggle, share stories and enjoy food. Also, I have
a lot of memories of Christmas evenings around the table with my family enjoying delicious healthy
meal. Likewise, my sister loves cooking. The reason behind her love for cooking is that it makes her
feel like a rock star. She makes tasty recipes which my mother and I are not able to make. She believes
that her cooked food has magic in it. For example, one afternoon her boyfriend make home from work
in a bad mood. She served him a tasty lamb

Narcissistic Personality Disorder
Many of those who take interest in Narcissism fail to see the line that draws between Narcissism itself
and the other aspects of it, with Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD) being one of them. At what
point does narcissism become a disorder? What other types of narcissism branch out from this
misunderstood behavior? Many insights on narcissistic people differ from a narcissist s own
perception and how the narcissist thinks he or she is being perceived? Are there other ways of
understanding narcissism more? These are the points to be touched on in defining narcissism more
clearly. Narcissism, apart from NPD, is a behavior that involves thinking highly of one s self without

did not include any CPM discussion and were not analyzed further. Within the remaining sixteen
encounters, 3 styles of CPM discussion emerged: (a) No initial patient treatment preference; (b)
patient initially wants CPM; (c) physician recommends CPM. Brief descriptions of these styles and
representative quotes are below.
1.1 No initial patient treatment preference

Clinician: We do. We do. It s up to you, it s your choice, but the majority of people do consider doing

Throughout the encounter, both the patient and their family member are hesitant about CPM, but the
physician continues to encourage CPM. Finally, the patient and family member seek an additional
opinion from a radiation oncology to further understand the risk to the contralateral breast.

Southern Right Whales Population Analysis
The southern right whales population has been changing and it went through a dramatically decline in
the late 19th century. Sail whalers hunted right whales throughout the southern oceans north of 50
degrees (Richards 2009). Also, the Soviet Union captured more than 3000 southern right whales in the
19th century (Tormosov 1997). This was changed after they signed an agreement in 1935 for the
conservation of this species. Populations for this species is hard to estimate because despite their
enormous size, robust population estimates are very difficult to obtain. The results of this research
showed a positive change and an increase in population of this animal. The old population of the 19th

population and it helped to see if minimizing the threats is an effective solution and how these threats
are affecting the right whales. Also, it can help assess the recovery of depleted populations, evaluate
conservation threats and also to use whales as indicators of the health of local ecosystems (Fretwell
2014). Doing this study was complicated because the old population was not clear, and assumptions
had to be made, such as the population size at each class. Therefore, the sample size can affect the end
result. Also, assumptions had be made in the future population in regards of the population in each age
class, but it was based from a journal. The population will likely keep increasing if the threats that this
animal encounter are minimized. This study showed how the population progresses and what rate but
there could also be improvement in learning why southern right whales prefer coastal warm waters to
breed, also it would be interesting to find more research in how these right whales communicate and

The purpose of this essay is to investigate future pricing policy for Merlin for the tower. A brief review
of Merlin s management of the Blackpool Tower will be highlighted, and then using economic tools of
analysis, it will clarify the concept of pricing discrimination and how companies use prices to attract
certain kinds of customer. Followed by, the use of price and attendance data from other attractions,
such as Camelot and Alton Towers to support the argument. Finally the essay will come to a
conclusion.

It is recommended a bit of both first and third pricing discrimination for Merlin. It is recommended
that prices be raised, overall, as the service offering is improved. Recommending discounts for family
groups, senior citizens, the disabled, and college students. Under prior management, entrance to the
tower was priced at £17 for adults, £14 for seniors and children payable at the door, with a £3 discount

entertainment sector put Merlin in advantage.
By recommending, as averred above, a very aggressive price discrimination strategy for Merlin s as
part of its pricing strategy for this project, and as a means to differentiate the theme park s offerings

Figurative Language
Poets often use figurative language to help readers understand what theme they are trying to reveal. In
the poems I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud by William Wordsworth and The Lake Isle of Innisfree by
W.B. Yeats, poets are able to convey the idea that nature can bring peace, serenity and joy. The two
poets utilize the readers sense of sight by depicting beautiful and detailed pictures of nature with
imagery. Wordsworth also uses personification to give life to inanimate aspects of nature to help get
across his central idea. On the other hand, Yeats makes use of sound imagery to clearly describe the
scenery and the soft tones that come with it. From the beginning of the poem, the speaker is in a state
of solitude as he wander[s] lonely ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As the speaker stands on the city road, he longs to be at Innisfree, where the midnight s all a glimmer
and noon a purple glow. Midnight may be a frightening time period as it is dark and mysterious, but
the word glimmer gives a positive connotation to the word, providing a change in tone. Perhaps it is
the twinkling stars that fill up the alluring midnight sky, making the pitch black atmosphere shimmer
and shine. Midnight is also when most people and animals are sound asleep, making the world a silent
and serene place. On the contrary, the noon sky is painted with shades of purple and emits a violet
glow. The color purple evokes feelings of tranquility to the speaker as he gazes at the purple sky. In
addition, Yeats also uses sound devices to express the nature s soothing tones. At Innisfree, the cricket
sings in the mornings and evenings are filled with sounds of linnet s wings. It is so silent and still at
Innisfree that even the tiniest of insects and animals could be heard. The cricket that sings in the
mornings makes the atmosphere happier and melodious as it does not just buzz, but it sings. The
linnets also contribute to the peaceful setting. They fly in the background as their wings flutter
together gracefully. The noise their wings make, provide a white noise that is comforting to the
speaker. Lastly, the speaker hears the

Stagecoach Film Essay
In the film Stagecoach (John Ford, 1939) the Western characteristics of this film are that the cowboys
in the film are resourceful and restricted to no one. They are fully competent of roaming the frontier
on their own without having to rely on the securities of civilization. Yet they also have a code of
honor; although they are ruggedly independent, the cowboys respect the rules of society and is
unwilling to exploit others or to condone the careless disregard for human life exhibited by outlaws or
stereotypically Indians.
Though the passengers begin the film as simple types, their confinement in the small stagecoach
allows layers to be peeled back, revealing more characters. Social prejudice is displayed by more

The film Australia starts like a cheesy slapstick comedy, turns into a romantic daydream, then into an
outback adventure, then into a war movie, and then a genuine drama. This film is all over the place
and really is just too much. This film does however use the Western characteristic and landscape in
that it represents stories of older times. It is a fictional historical costume drama set before and during
World War II. The reason I say that it is a fictional historical film is that it has silly facts about the
Japanese being near Australian soil during World War II when that was actually not the case. There are
the typical horse scenes and Lady Sarah Ashley is the damsel in distress trying to herd her cattle with
the help from her husband s drover. I feel like this film is just a mockery of the Western genre and it
should not be categorized as one. The film only uses cattle ranching as an excuse to steal iconography
from Hollywood Westerns, specifically a 1930s John Ford cowboy motion picture

Out of Our Right Minds discusses issues such as the stereotypes and damaging myths that have
hindered the mental health and socialization of African American women. Even at a young age, black
females have been taught to be a strong black woman . Out of Our Right Minds shows that black
women are expected to take on a lot, hold it down and fulfill the stereotype of the Black Superwoman

How Does Sylvia Plath Use Humor
Death is Funny: Sylvia Plath s Use of Humor in Lady Lazarus Humor and Sylvia Plath are words not
generally heard in the same sentence. Although her poetry is widely read, we as a society tend to
associate her writing with the inherent darkness in her words, and we tend to ignore everything else,
particularly with regards to the poetry she wrote near the end of her life. The morbidity in her writing
is most definitely there, but it is often expressed using humor. I will be examining Plath s poem Lady
Lazarus, and in particular the way that Plath uses humor throughout the poem through her use of
sarcasm, hyperbole and absurd comparisons, rhyme, and circus imagery. I will also be looking at the
possible reasons why Plath uses humor throughout Lady Lazarus, and what purpose it serves as a
literary device. Plath s strong use of sarcasm is present in Lady Lazarus from the very first lines of the
poem; Plath writes: I have done it again/One year in every ten/I manage it (Plath, 1 3). This opening
stanza is very tongue in cheek, and through the seemingly nondescript, nonchalant way she begins the
poem, it sets up the first stanza as a foil for the next stanza, which begins: A sort of walking miracle,
my skin/Bright as a Nazi lampshade, (4 5). The contrast between the content of the first and second
stanzas gives the first stanza a very sarcastic tone. It sets up the concept that death is no big deal to
Plath; she s died every ten years. The opening line, I have done

The Rise Of The Great Depression Essay
By the end of the 1920s, the United States had the largest economy in the world. With the destruction
brought on by WWI, Europeans endured hardships while Americans continued to thrive. Upon a
successful victory of the presidency, Herbert Hoover didn t have a doubt that the United States would
soon witness the day when poverty was exterminated. Then, in a moment of what seemed to be
triumph, everything collapsed in the U.S. With the stock market crashing in 1929, it set off a chain of
events that catapulted the U.S. into the longest and deepest economic crisis it had ever seen. It is far
too easy to put the blame of the Great Depression on one event, but when there is poor investing over
time with the lack of government programs and a drop in consumer purchasing power due to the
market collapse it can delay the process of fixing the economy for future leaders. It is far too simple to
view the stock market crash as the only cause of the Great Depression. A fit economy can be revived
from such devastation. Long term causes sent the nation into a downward slope of despair. American
firms acquired substantial profits during the 1920s and immediately reinvested most of the funds into
expansion. By 1929, companies had come to the bubble point. Workers couldn t continue to help
further expansion, so a slowdown was unpreventable. While corporate profits soared and wages
improved over time, so did the spread of the distribution of wealth. The richest people of American

Evaluate The Dopamine Hypothesis
The key function of antipsychotic drugs as recognised by various researchers, is the significant
interference with brain dopamine function. This is underpinned by the hypothesis that symptoms of
schizophrenia are produced from increased activity of the neurotransmitter dopamine. This essay,
therefore discusses and examines the function and mode of action of these antipsychotics drugs with a
view to critically identifying whether schizophrenia is a disorder of dopamine function.
Dopamine Hypothesis
The dopamine hypothesis of schizophrenia as highlighted by Stone et al 2007 is seen as the principal
explanatory model of antipsychotic drug action. The formulation of dopamine hypothesis was partly
based on neuro pharmacological research that centred ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, as highlighted by Videbeck et al (2014), the therapeutic mechanism of action is only
partially understood. Typical antipsychotic drugs such as chlorpromazine, haloperidol, act as
antagonist at dopamine receptors (D2, D3, D4), which are situated in central pathways of the brain.
Brennan Gamble (2006), highlighted reports supporting the clinical potency of typical antipsychotics
which is determined by the extent to which they block dopamine receptors. This action of blocking D2
receptors lead to effective treatment of target symptoms of schizophrenia but induces many
extrapyramidal symptoms (EPS) such as Parkinson, acute dystonic reactions, akathisia, tardive
dyskinesia and worsen negative symptoms in some patients. In as much as blocking the dopamine
receptor is acknowledged explanation of the EPS of typical antipsychotic drugs, some controversy
exists in relation to extension of the mechanism to explain the antipsychotic effect. The core
controversy is based on the inability to link the relationship between EPS and therapeutic effects.
Some typical antipsychotic drugs have shown fewer parkinsonian effects than would have been
expected from their clinical efficacy and explanation to this is that such drugs have in built
antiparkinsonian as they have high anticholinergic potency. According to Crow (1980), considering
this explanation makes the relationship between dopamine antagonism and the therapeutic
effectiveness more compelling. Brennan Gamble (2006), cited Gournay Gray (1998), highlighting that
about 30% of clients with schizophrenia do not respond to typical antipsychotics or experience severe
EPS, this means that the rest 70% respond to typical antipsychotic drugs and may experience

The Four Stages Of The Cell Cycle
The cell cycle has four main stages. The cell cycle is the regular pattern of growth. The four stages
consist of Gap 1 (G1), Synthesis (S), Gap 2 (G2), and Mitosis (M). Gap 1, consists of a cell that
carries its normal functions. Calls also increase in size, and the organelles increase in number. A cell
will spend the most time in this phase. But it also depends on the cell type to see how long it will
spend in this phase. During this phase the cell has to pass a critical checkpoint before it can continue
into the (S) stage, also called the Synthesis stage. It would be dangerous for a cell to keep dividing if
the certain conditions were not met. The cells in this stage also need signals from the other cells to tell
the if division is needed. Now the next stage is the Synthesis stage. During this phase the cell makes a
copy of it s nuclear DNA. By the end of the (S) phase DNA appears grainy in photos and the cell
nucleus contains two complete sets of DNA. Gap 2, is the third stage of the cell cycle. The cells
continue doing there thing and more growth occurs. This phase is like the checkpoint, everything in
the cell has to be going right for the cell to be able to enter mitosis. Mitosis is the fourth stage of the
cell cycle. It includes two phases mitosis and cytokinesis. Mitosis is the division of the cell s nucleus
and all it s contents. Cytokinesis is the process that divides the cell s cytoplasm. The stages of the cell
cycle and the proteins are all alike in all

The Art World Is A Forever Changing System
The art world is a forever changing system, with new ideas and concepts constantly emerging. Marcel
Duchamp, working in a world where art was focused heavily on pleasing the eye, is seen to emerge
with a new idea that aimed to challenge this retinal approach that was expected of art during this time.
Duchamp would call this new approach the readymade . This essay will discuss how Duchamp used
the readymade, specifically his 1913 piece Bicycle Wheel, to move away from the focus on the visual
and shift attention to a focus on the conceptual. Likewise, this essay will explore how Duchamp s
readymade has influenced artists such as Jeff Koons, who similarly incorporated the conceptual focus
of the readymade within his own 1981 87 readymade ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Duchamp is seen to use the word retinal as a means of critically referring to avant garde painting, as it
was apparent to him that the modern artist was becoming too immersed in a focus of pleasing the
viewer on a visual level, that they had neglected to stimulate the mind. As stated by Duchamp himself,
he wanted to put painting again at the service of the mind , and thus his creation of the readymade
emerged. The readymade consisted of a simple, unaltered, everyday object(s) that was presented as a
work of art. Through the creation of the readymade, Duchamp undermined these pre determined
aesthetic expectations of art as he started to exhibit his readymade pieces in high art exhibitions. From
this point onwards, Duchamp s artistic approach was changed via his re development of common,
everyday items and through the means of choosing and repositioning an object, Duchamp was able to
transform an everyday item into a work of art. Thus, the readymade can be seen to be driven by
Duchamp s interest in shifting attention away from the object itself, and instead refocusing this
attention on the creative relationship that he recognised between the artist, the work, the world and the
audience. Duchamp was strong in his belief that The creative act is not performed by the artist alone.
The spectator brings the work into contact with the external world through interpretation . Duchamp s

Cultural Relativism in Business

Cultural Relativism:
Cultural relativism is the view that all beliefs are equally valid and that truth itself is relative,
depending on the situation, environment, and individual. Those who hold to cultural relativism hold
that all religious, ethical, aesthetic, and political beliefs are completely relative to the individual within
a cultural identity. Cultural relativism (CR) says that good and bad are relative to culture. What is
good is what is socially approved in a given culture. Our moral principles describe social conventions
and must be based on the norms of our society. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This observation is supported by Nyaw and Ng (1994) who found that Hong Kong managers are more
tolerant of unethical behavior towards customers and suppliers than Canadian managers. At a
corporate level, deception of various forms has been observed among East Asians (Tung, 1994). For
instance, the Japanese speak with soft spoken voices so that their American counterparts
underestimate their tenacity. In the process of gathering market intelligence, some East Asian firms
spread erroneous information to contaminate and frustrate competitors strategies.
We must change the focus of business ethics away from primary emphasis on Western ethics toward a
deeper understanding of value systems that stem from different conceptions of human nature. We need
to abandon the project of universalizing ethics along Western lines.
Cultural Relativism and Business Options:
Given the concept of cultural relativism, business executives can take one of three choices:
(1) insist on uniform standards worldwide, or
(2) tailor or adjust the companys standards of conduct for each locale, or
(3) decide on each instance on a situation by situation basis.
The problem with insisting on common worldwide standards is that local customs in foreign cultures
may be trampled

Conspiracy Theories Surrounding The Assessination of John...
Conspiracy theories surround the average human in the world of education. Whether the average
person chooses to ignore them or to accept them is one thing, but before any one person should put
their faith in any one conspiracy theory, you must first study all the facts of that specific theory. There
are hundreds of conspiracy theories that have been nagging at humanity for years; however, there are
three main conspiracies that stick out more than others. The first being the JFK conspiracy theory,
second is the moon landing conspiracy, and last the Illuminati.
The John F. Kennedy assassination is and always will be one of the most controversial topics of all
time. Perhaps the world will never know what was behind the fateful events of John F. Kennedy s
assassination on November 22, 1961. Many different groups have generated various theories as to the
culprits behind the JFK assassination. Each grouping would claim to have the correct answer to the
never ending mystery. However, questions still exist concerning every single theory proposed. (Jim
Mars XV) The accused killer of John F. Kennedy is Lee Harvey Oswald. If Oswald was the lone killer
of President Kennedy, then one would think that all the information regarding the details of the
assassination would have been forgotten over time (Jim Mars XV). James A. Garfield was the
President in 1891. However, he was brutally murdered by Charles Guiteau while he was still in office.

Technology Impact On Technology
In our world today, things are constantly being created and changed; whether it be laws, fashion, food,
etc., but the one thing that seems to change at a faster rate than the rest is technology. Whether it be
with machines, computers, or medicine, technology is always being improved, and for most, it s now
quite difficult to go a single day without using some type of technology because it s become so
widespread in our world. Difficulty to operate without technology is now also becoming true for
businesses. Whether it be local or international, businesses have begun to rely more heavily on
technology for purposes such as storing their files, making transactions, keeping track of their
inventory, and many other reasons. While technology has ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Today hackers currently have a large amount of American s personal information such as birthdates,
social security numbers, credit card numbers, addresses, etc. If a large company such as Equifax is
susceptible to cyber attacks, then it s safe to say that practically all businesses are also taking a huge
risk leaving their customer s private information in the hands of technology. A common reason that
businesses are using technology to store all of their files is because it s quick and easily accessible for
them and their customers, but as we ve seen in the Equifax case, putting one s trust in the internet to
keep our information safe in exchange for easier and quicker access to information can prove to be
unwise. Similarly, businesses are risking losing customers and their business due to technical
difficulties. Before technology, business owners still had to find a way to run their business to keep
their employees paid and their customers happy. But today, utter chaos erupts in everyone s mind as
soon as they hear those four words; our servers are down . This is when it becomes clear that
businesses are relying too much on technology because in this moment they aren t able to do their jobs
the convenient way, and for some, there is no other way. In the case of Amazon Web Services (AWS)
in February 2017, when their servers went down and affected many other websites as well. AWS is

Piaget in the Toddler Classroom
There are a lot of things to consider when designing the layout of a toddler classroom. It is very
important to create an environment that is geared toward the proper developmental stage in order for
young children to get the most out their classroom. Children in the preoperational stage (2 yrs. 7 yrs.)
need a wide variety of hands on activities to promote development. Using Jean Piaget s Theory of
Cognitive development to design a classroom will give toddlers a wide range of activities to gain a
strong foundation for learning.

Notice the Red Square, green circle, and yellow triangle on the floor rug. I would like to have
something similar to help the students define their assigned group. For rotating centers each group will
play in once center for a designated period of time; then switch centers.
Each center designed is to engage a different aspect of child development. The large floor rug is
designed as a social area. The children will gather each morning to begin the daily routine. The more
time children spend together the less time it will take them to develop social skills such as speech and
conversation. We will begin each day by talking about the events from the afternoon before and re cap
on the activities of the day before just to see what they remember; especially from the lesson.
After circle time we will head to our lesson area. This is the location where the academics will take
place. At this age the children will be working on fine motor skills by coloring and using scissors. Arts
and crafts may be one of the most beneficial activities in the lesson area. The students can learn to
recognize letters or number using the art activities.
The materials needed for this activity are: letter/number template, related pictures from magazines or
other visual media i.e.: a apple; b bus, construction paper, glue/paste, and scissors. The students will

  • 2. Life Cycle And Its Effects On Life Cycles Salamanders, also known as the urodeles, are one of the few amphiabians that keep their tails during the process of being an adult. Their life cycle begins as being eggs within the environment of water, soon to be evolved to larvas. These larvas are basically developing into the stage of being a full adult. Typically when most people think of regeneration, the thought of rebuilding comes into mind. In the same respect, a salamander possesses this ability and uses it to their advantage. Regeneration is the process of rebuilding certain cells, tissues or limbs. It s an intricate progression that allows different animals to survive against their predators. Regeneration allows the salamander to escape their predators by losing an appendage, with the hope of preventing capture and subsequent consumption. Salamander regeneration holds so much value to the world and it s surrounding life cycles. This overpowering ability is being overlooked, yet at the same time imagine how renowned it would be if we can link a gene that would aid with our regenerating gene. At a young age, we are all born with the ability to regenerate; we are able to regenerate our fingertips until the age of three...now try to apply that to future of regenerative therapy and medicine. Imagine how many benefits would be distributed amongst our cells, our organs, and the list goes on. The underlying process that goes with regeneration is the genetic materials; retinoic acid (MSX1) and taxon specific proteins such ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Millions of people around the globe immigrate into... Millions of people around the globe immigrate into different countries every year. For some people, moving to a new place can be about taking on a different career opportunity, following a love interest, or reuniting with family. While for others, immigration is necessary to survive. It is not a simple choice, but rather a struggle to escape the horrors in their own country. There are numerous nations that welcome immigrants and refugees with open arms, but many do not. Picking up your life and traveling to a new country is hard even in the most accepting of places. For example, in the US, there are varieties of cultures and people from all over the world, making it one of the most desirable places for immigrants. Yet, even still, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... While these regulations were eventually lessened by the following Prime Minister, the events led to an increase in French nationalism among the natives and new assimilation policies. In 2003, the French government made an attempt to integrate the immigrants by requiring them to sign a contract when entering the country. By signing the contract, immigrants agree to undergo language training and instruction on the values of French society, (Zappi). If they passed, they received a ten year permit, but if they failed then they only got a one year permit. Essentially, the French were trying to protect their home culture by forcing the immigrants to let go of their native cultures and become more French. When immigrating to a new country, there are many stages of acculturation that a person must go through. At first everything is wonderful and amazing, but soon, homesickness and longing for the home culture sets in. The attitudes and mindsets of the host culture can play a huge role in whether person acculturates successfully or slips into culture shock. If you are able to make friends in your host culture who can help you assimilate, then you are more likely to be happy in your new home. However, in France, many people are unfriendly to foreigners and very unwilling to help them. For Americans, when going into a French restaurant, even though the waiter may know how to speak ... • 4. Against Reinstating the Military Draft Essay Against Reinstating the Military Draft On July 1, 1973, Congress chose to end the draft in favor of an All Volunteer Army. According to The Professional Bulletin of Army History, No. 27, the last man was drafted in December 1972 and reported for training in June 1973. Now, not only might the renewed military draft come back but also the age of compulsory service in the meat grinder might be extended from its former limit of 26 years up to 42 years of age. As Ken Adachi, the editor of ? Educate Yourself,? reports, a new draft will include BOTH men and women. While at various points in history the United States military has operated effectively and efficiently with the draft, reinstating the draft would contradict the ideals of ... If individuals are forced to participate in a military campaign, the government will be relieved of one of the checks that help prevent them from engaging in unpopular or unwarranted campaigns. Sure, the government makes us do all sorts of things: serve on juries, pay taxes, have a driver?s license. When the government requires possession of a driver?s license it is for our own security, to make sure that only those who are capable to drive are on the road. When we are being asked to serve on jury, it is for our interest as well. As a society, we get to take a part in a legal decision and make sure that justice is done in our country. Even the requirement to pay taxes eventually is for our interest. The tax money helps the government to do things for us as a society, such as financing culture events, helping elders and people in need. However, asking us to risk our lives for something that not all citizens believe worth fighting for is not in our interest. People should not be forced to enlist in the army, which is one reason why we should not reinstate the military draft. In other words, since we live in a country based on freedom, the government should not take away our right to decide if we want to fight or not. We should not be forced to fight a war. We should not be forced into the meat grinder and possibly killed ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Essay on Hydrogen Car Power of the Future Hydrogen: Car Power of the Future Abstract Recent years have shown an increasingly large need for a practical renewable energy source for such reasons as diminishing fossil fuels and increases in greenhouse gasses. Hydrogen appears to be a way out of this gasoline dug hole, or at least, a way out in the future. Hydrogen fuel cell cars are being engineered as we speak as the technologies to refuel them cleanly are being proposed. Unfortunately, most of the technologies associated with hydrogen are still in the prototype/pre production stages and require better enhancements before becoming mainstream. This paper assesses the practicality of hydrogen power in cars both now and in the future while explicating the actual process of how a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Hydrogen is comprised of a Hydrogen: Car Power 3 small, positively charged proton with a negatively charged electron orbiting very fast, a model analogous to the earth orbiting the sun, or the moon orbiting the earth. Fuel cells take advantage of this structure. Using a membrane and a catalyst, hydrogen is broken up into a proton and an electron. While there are many different membrane models for fuel cells, the most appropriate one for car travel is the Polymer Electrolyte Membrane (PEM, also called the Proton Exchange Membrane). It is called this because protons are able to easily pass through the membrane. However, because the membrane does not allow electrons to pass through it, the electrons take a detour through an electrical circuit to the other side of the cell. If hydrogen is supplied into the cell at a steady rate, the stream of electrons in the electrical circuit creates electric power. However, like all batteries, you need a positive end (cathode) and a negative end (anode); in other words, the hydrogen atoms must have a reason to make this electrical circuit. And what is this reason? Oxygen. With oxygen at the other end, hydrogen is more than willing to create this current so that it can bind and form H2O, or water on the other end. Unfortunately, one fuel cell alone produces less than 1.16 volts, which can t really do much on its own. However, when dozens or even hundreds of fuel cells are lined up together ... • 6. Edward Hopper Painted The Night Hawks In 1942, American artist Edward Hopper painted The Night Hawks. This oil painting, is a 33 1/8th in. x 60 in. piece. Hopper used oil paint on canvas, to create this piece. Currently this piece is located at the Art Institute of Chicago. In The Night Hawks, a city diner is depicted sometime at night. The buildings and diner design, are consistent with a city setting. Within the diner, there are 4 people present. Three of these people appear to be customers, while the other is working at the diner. There are three men present in the picture, and one woman. Due to the clothes they are wearing, we know that this diner is set sometime before 1960. After looking at the painting, I believe that this is either an exact depiction of a real life diner, or the painting was inspired by a real life diner. Within this painting, there are many different elements of design that Hopper uses to create this scene. The first element of design within this painting is, the use of light and shadows. Hopper uses light and shadows, to create the visual of nighttime within the painting. Within the restaurant, very bright colors are used to create the walls. Using light colors in this way, makes it appear as if the walls of the diner are reflecting light. In addition, the countertop within the diner appears to be glossy, and has reflections in it. This effect also aids in making the illusion of light within the diner. Outside of the dinner, light can be seen on the buildings across the street. This ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The sulfur dioxide has great detriment for plants and human beings. Its toxicity is large and has corrosivity and decomposability. Sulphur is a highly noxious venom for people s health, although we can be more resistant than other creatures that live with us. For example, the level of 0,3 µg per cubic metre of air implies a potential risk for human health, but for trees, 0,2 µg is extremely dangerous. In 1956, the London smog (caused by sulfuric acid mist) led to more than 4700 deaths. The pollution of sulfur dioxide has direct effect on human beings and animals life. When human body absorbs the sulfur trioxide or sulfuric acid mist formed by sulfur dioxide, its stimulation and detriment would be more significant, even though its density is only 1/10 of sulfur dioxide. Some experiments have proved that the physiological reaction caused by sulfuric acid mist is four times of sulfur dioxide. If he density of sulfur dioxide increases double each year, the death rate would increase by 11%. • 10. Are Different Forms Of Discipline More Useful Or Harmful... Discipline is an act by which children learn standards of acceptable behavior and repercussions that they can apply towards greater independence. Although verbal discipline is generally recognized as being more appropriate for children, it may also carry emotionally damaging effects if practiced irresponsibly. Physical discipline is seen to be an unacceptable solution, because of the physical and emotional risks to the child. The goal of effective discipline is to ensure acceptable and appropriate behavior in children and to raise mature adults who will make great decisions in life. So, are physical and verbal forms of discipline more helpful or harmful to children? Discipline is a word that many people including adults and children do not fully understand. Kids see discipline as punishment when they are told that they are bad or if they receive physical harm. Punishment can be positive when there is an added behavior, or negative when there is a behavior that is taken away. For example, a positive form of punishment is if a parent gives a child his or her favorite snack in order for them to remember to use the phrases please and thank you in their everyday language. A negative punishment is if a child misbehaves in school and get his or her toys taken away. On the contrary, discipline is about guiding and teaching children so that they will make good decisions and learn to control themselves. This annotated bibliography covers six journal, reports and articles associated with the subject of how stressful life experiences can affect a child s emotional development, what role the schools play in a child s emotional development and how there is a need for the Department of Education to commission a sector body to develop a framework of core content for initial teacher training (ITT), which should include child and adolescent development. A child s emotional development is a complex, multifaceted process and one which many interaction partners play a role. To teach effectively, trainee teachers need to understand child development expectations at different stages of development together with issues that can have an impact on the child s progress. The research literature has accentuated the association between stressful experiences and psychological dysfunction in children and evidence has been found which suggests that there is a need for continuity across Initial teacher training institutes. ITT should be an environment for new teachers to learn from the best teachers, introducing them to essential skills, knowledge and understanding that all teachers require in order to continuously improve the opportunities and outcomes of young people. The authors of this study compared the judgements of trainee teachers with the responses of young children regarding their perceptions of student stress. Thousands of Hutu extremists launched a massive assault on the Tutsi, who traditionally make up Rwanda s upper class, killing hundreds of thousands of innocent people (Night Rider amp;#8211; most days ;). The United States immediately responded to this slaughter by turning the other way, denying that a problem existed until years after the genocide had ceased. This intended military escort function of the international community was averted, because of the sudden and quite peaceful march homeward of the Rwandans before the coalition had mobilized. Had the military escort occurred, there would have been potential for escalation of the Rwandan problem into an international military crisis, should bloodshed of any kind have erupted during the long march home of the refugees (Whaley). This potential for explosion of what some see as a nation s domestic concern into military action crossing international lines is what can deadlock the strategists, sometimes permitting ethnic cleansing to be substantially completed before a resolution can be endorsed by all nations concerned about the matter. Although ethnic cleansing has been present throughout history, we are only in the last century really starting to acknowledge it as an issue that needs to be definitively dealt with on a global scale. The incident that caused ethnic cleansing to be a major international issue was Adolph Hitler s extreme ethnic cleansing of the Jewish, which made the rest of the world realize that if SOMETHING was not done, the problem could spread to engulf the entire world. Throughout the novel Sula, Toni Morrison is often, if not always, talking about death and she reflects her own concept of what it is and what it does to us, humans. Death to her is that constant idea that is always controlling us and influences our acts and choices on our day to day life. Shadrak for example who is controlled by that idea, established a special day to raise awareness about suicide because the thought of death is always running through his head. Overall, it is a topic that is talked a lot about in the Medallion and if there is one of the inhabitants of that community that is tortured by that idea, is Shadrack. He knew the smell of death and was terrified of it, for he could not anticipate it. It was not death or dying that frightened him, but the unexpectedness of both. In sorting it all out, he hit on the notion that if one day a year were devoted to it, everybody could get it out of the way and the rest of the year would be safe and free. In this manner he instituted National Suicide Day (Page 28). With this quote, Toni Morrison manages to portray the massive fear death imposes in people now days. On the other side, while there are some who decide to suffer due to the fact that sooner or later we are going to die, others get the best of this life and don t let anything stop them from enjoying it. • 17. Romero Movie Analysis Of The Movie The movie Romero portrays the life of Archbishop Oscar Romero of El Salvador. Romero (1917 1980) was assassinated because of his protests against the horrors the government did against the people of El Salvador. I enjoyed this movie because of the deep themes and meanings that were revealed throughout. There was no fluff in this movie, and it boldly showed graphic images and scenes that portrayed the reality of the situation in El Salvador. Although there were times that some of the subplots were confusing, the overall plot of the movie was straightforward and easy to understand. The movie begins with a priest, Father Grande, encouraging the poor people to vote, but the voters are shot at by guerilla soldiers and the soldiers force the people to walk through the danger. This active work of the priest is observed by Romero who seems to disapprove of the Father Grande s disruption. At the beginning of the movie, Romero is quiet, submissive, and does not like to disturb the waters of thinly held peace. These traits earn him the spot of Archbishop of El Salvador because the church leaders think he will remain uninvolved in political affairs. Despite the leaders hopes, this changes when Father Grande is killed. Romero begins to fully realize the horrors of the government, and he starts to take a stand for the people. He learns later that another priest was captured by the government and tortured by the government. This indicates that the government has little respect for the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Furthermore, Howes and Kapur (2009) also stressed that the role of dopamine could be circumvented by using the antipsychotic drugs which effectively to the psychotic symptoms but neutral to the dopamine system, thus the role of dopamine will be less critical in schizophrenia. This is because most of the recent antipsychotic researches only prove that dopamine merely contributed in providing a solution in alleviating the psychosis liked symptoms but those symptoms are not the symptoms only existed in schizophrenia. ... • 23. Relationship Between Cinema And Cinema Architecture is a slow and mute medium that is experienced gradually and spatially, often presented to us through a sequence of images. The mere arrangement of these images has a direct impact on the way we experience and interact with a space, which is explicitly in conjunction with the discipline of cinema. Cinema, as a fast and transparent medium, has an uncanny ability to magnify and augment this spatial experience through the strategic manipulation of the composition seen within a frame. The relationship between cinema and architecture is evident, on account that cinema employs the power of a narrative to convey a meaningful message, and pictorial symbolism in its framing of architecture. However, excluding the obvious parallels of composition and organization between the two forms of art, they differ quite definitively on the basis of representation. As such, the presented approach attempts to identify the relevant narrative concepts within architecture and cinema so as to reveal the hidden undertone that may or may not directly influence our experience of a space. Storytelling, as a form of narrative, is experienced cerebrally and has enabled cultures to immortalize their fables and encounters. Architectural narratives, on the other hand, are experienced spatially, i.e. through a series of physical patterns and concepts that articulate place and meaning within a physical structure. Per se, architecture and architects, through the weaving of a compelling narrative, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Effective Domain Affective domain is the only domain that does not reflect what we teach our students as in specific skills or knowledge, but more of how the students use the information that we have given them, and then add in an emotional component. The morbidity in her writing is most definitely there, but it is often expressed using humor. Plath s strong use of sarcasm is present in Lady Lazarus from the very first lines of the poem; Plath writes: I have done it again/One year in every ten/I manage it (Plath, 1 3). This opening stanza is very tongue in cheek, and through the seemingly nondescript, nonchalant way she begins the poem, it sets up the first stanza as a foil for the next stanza, which begins: A sort of walking miracle, my skin/Bright as a Nazi lampshade, (4 5). • 39. The Rise Of The Great Depression Essay By the end of the 1920s, the United States had the largest economy in the world. With the destruction brought on by WWI, Europeans endured hardships while Americans continued to thrive. Upon a successful victory of the presidency, Herbert Hoover didn t have a doubt that the United States would soon witness the day when poverty was exterminated. Then, in a moment of what seemed to be triumph, everything collapsed in the U.S. With the stock market crashing in 1929, it set off a chain of events that catapulted the U.S. into the longest and deepest economic crisis it had ever seen. It is far too easy to put the blame of the Great Depression on one event, but when there is poor investing over time with the lack of government programs and a drop in consumer purchasing power due to the market collapse it can delay the process of fixing the economy for future leaders. It is far too simple to view the stock market crash as the only cause of the Great Depression. A fit economy can be revived from such devastation. Long term causes sent the nation into a downward slope of despair. American firms acquired substantial profits during the 1920s and immediately reinvested most of the funds into expansion. By 1929, companies had come to the bubble point. Workers couldn t continue to help further expansion, so a slowdown was unpreventable. While corporate profits soared and wages improved over time, so did the spread of the distribution of wealth. The richest people of American had over ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 40. Evaluate The Dopamine Hypothesis The key function of antipsychotic drugs as recognised by various researchers, is the significant interference with brain dopamine function. This is underpinned by the hypothesis that symptoms of schizophrenia are produced from increased activity of the neurotransmitter dopamine. This essay, therefore discusses and examines the function and mode of action of these antipsychotics drugs with a view to critically identifying whether schizophrenia is a disorder of dopamine function. Dopamine Hypothesis The dopamine hypothesis of schizophrenia as highlighted by Stone et al 2007 is seen as the principal explanatory model of antipsychotic drug action. The formulation of dopamine hypothesis was partly based on neuro pharmacological research that centred ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, as highlighted by Videbeck et al (2014), the therapeutic mechanism of action is only partially understood. Typical antipsychotic drugs such as chlorpromazine, haloperidol, act as antagonist at dopamine receptors (D2, D3, D4), which are situated in central pathways of the brain. Brennan Gamble (2006), highlighted reports supporting the clinical potency of typical antipsychotics which is determined by the extent to which they block dopamine receptors. This action of blocking D2 receptors lead to effective treatment of target symptoms of schizophrenia but induces many extrapyramidal symptoms (EPS) such as Parkinson, acute dystonic reactions, akathisia, tardive dyskinesia and worsen negative symptoms in some patients. In as much as blocking the dopamine receptor is acknowledged explanation of the EPS of typical antipsychotic drugs, some controversy exists in relation to extension of the mechanism to explain the antipsychotic effect. The core controversy is based on the inability to link the relationship between EPS and therapeutic effects. Some typical antipsychotic drugs have shown fewer parkinsonian effects than would have been expected from their clinical efficacy and explanation to this is that such drugs have in built antiparkinsonian as they have high anticholinergic potency. According to Crow (1980), considering this explanation makes the relationship between dopamine antagonism and the therapeutic effectiveness more compelling. Brennan Gamble (2006), cited Gournay Gray (1998), highlighting that about 30% of clients with schizophrenia do not respond to typical antipsychotics or experience severe EPS, this means that the rest 70% respond to typical antipsychotic drugs and may experience ... • 41. The Four Stages Of The Cell Cycle The cell cycle has four main stages. The cell cycle is the regular pattern of growth. The four stages consist of Gap 1 (G1), Synthesis (S), Gap 2 (G2), and Mitosis (M). Gap 1, consists of a cell that carries its normal functions. Calls also increase in size, and the organelles increase in number. A cell will spend the most time in this phase. But it also depends on the cell type to see how long it will spend in this phase. During this phase the cell has to pass a critical checkpoint before it can continue into the (S) stage, also called the Synthesis stage. It would be dangerous for a cell to keep dividing if the certain conditions were not met. The cells in this stage also need signals from the other cells to tell the if division is needed. Now the next stage is the Synthesis stage. During this phase the cell makes a copy of it s nuclear DNA. By the end of the (S) phase DNA appears grainy in photos and the cell nucleus contains two complete sets of DNA. Gap 2, is the third stage of the cell cycle. The cells continue doing there thing and more growth occurs. This phase is like the checkpoint, everything in the cell has to be going right for the cell to be able to enter mitosis. Mitosis is the fourth stage of the cell cycle. It includes two phases mitosis and cytokinesis. Mitosis is the division of the cell s nucleus and all it s contents. Cytokinesis is the process that divides the cell s cytoplasm. The stages of the cell cycle and the proteins are all alike in all ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 42. The Art World Is A Forever Changing System The art world is a forever changing system, with new ideas and concepts constantly emerging. Marcel Duchamp, working in a world where art was focused heavily on pleasing the eye, is seen to emerge with a new idea that aimed to challenge this retinal approach that was expected of art during this time. Duchamp would call this new approach the readymade . This essay will discuss how Duchamp used the readymade, specifically his 1913 piece Bicycle Wheel, to move away from the focus on the visual and shift attention to a focus on the conceptual. Likewise, this essay will explore how Duchamp s readymade has influenced artists such as Jeff Koons, who similarly incorporated the conceptual focus of the readymade within his own 1981 87 readymade ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Duchamp is seen to use the word retinal as a means of critically referring to avant garde painting, as it was apparent to him that the modern artist was becoming too immersed in a focus of pleasing the viewer on a visual level, that they had neglected to stimulate the mind. As stated by Duchamp himself, he wanted to put painting again at the service of the mind , and thus his creation of the readymade emerged. The readymade consisted of a simple, unaltered, everyday object(s) that was presented as a work of art. Through the creation of the readymade, Duchamp undermined these pre determined aesthetic expectations of art as he started to exhibit his readymade pieces in high art exhibitions. From this point onwards, Duchamp s artistic approach was changed via his re development of common, everyday items and through the means of choosing and repositioning an object, Duchamp was able to transform an everyday item into a work of art. Thus, the readymade can be seen to be driven by Duchamp s interest in shifting attention away from the object itself, and instead refocusing this attention on the creative relationship that he recognised between the artist, the work, the world and the audience. Duchamp was strong in his belief that The creative act is not performed by the artist alone. The spectator brings the work into contact with the external world through interpretation . Duchamp s ... For instance, the Japanese speak with soft spoken voices so that their American counterparts underestimate their tenacity. In the process of gathering market intelligence, some East Asian firms spread erroneous information to contaminate and frustrate competitors strategies. A common reason that businesses are using technology to store all of their files is because it s quick and easily accessible for them and their customers, but as we ve seen in the Equifax case, putting one s trust in the internet to keep our information safe in exchange for easier and quicker access to information can prove to be unwise. Similarly, businesses are risking losing customers and their business due to technical difficulties.
