Themes In Shakespeare s Comedy Of Errors By William...
The lights dim, the audience is quiet, and the characters begin to gather on the stage. The audience
finds themselves in the middle of New York City, captivated by the seriousness of the actors. A girl in
a trench coat, who is revealed as the duke, sits down in a chair with two people at her side. Distraught
and aggravated, a boy with grayed hair and a cane comes out, who says his name is Egeon. The story
begins through this tense and uptight interaction between the characters, and suddenly the audience
finds themselves lost in the ideas of Shakespeare. Comedy of Errors, an enthralling and entertaining
play written by William Shakespeare, contains a riveting and unique storyline. The story begins with
the forlorn idea of a father trying to discover and reunite his family who was split apart by a
shipwreck. Egeon, who is introduced in the first act, is the father of two twins named Antipholus of
Ephesus and Antipholus of Syracuse. Antipholus of Ephesus has grown up with his father, but his long
lost twin has been off living his own life. Along with this set of twins, comes their servants Dromio of
Ephesus and Dromio of Syracuse who are also twins and unaware of each other. The humor in this
play lies in the fact that both sets of twins and Egeon are all in the same city, but are oblivious to this
throughout the play. The plot continues to progress through the multiple interactions the twins and
their servants have with other characters. Throughout these encounters, the other

Surprised By Hope Analysis
In the book Surprised by Hope by N. T. Wright, he discusses salvation, the new creation, what our
bodies will be like after Christ returns. Will the heavens come down to earth or will humans go up to
heaven? These are all points that Christians need to ask themselves and begin to think about. He lays
these topics out in clear, concise ways so the reader can comprehend what his points are. All
throughout his book, the theme of a new heaven and new earth are constantly being thrown around.
Wright uses Philippians 3:20 that says, But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a
Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ to back up his claim that ... (he) will come from heaven to
earth, to change the present situation and state of his ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
According to Wright, they will be immortal. He puts it like this, In particular, this new body will be
immortal. That is, it will have passed beyond death not just in the temporal sense but also the
ontological sense of no longer being subject to sickness, injury, decay, and death itself (160) This
means that we are going to have stronger, healthier, more perfect bodies that God will give us as a gift
of love. We may not even look the same, something will be different about our bodies. In fact, when
Jesus was resurrected from the dead the disciples did not recognize him. This was a man whom they
had worked for years with and for, yet they did not recognize him in the new body. Wright claims that
this immorality is different than the common idea of immorality. He says that people believe
immorality has to do with souls, not bodies. After I read this, I immediately disagreed with that,
because I have only thought of immorality of souls living forever, not bodies. After I had thought over
this statement a bit more, I found myself agreeing with it. In fact, 2 Corinthians 5:4 says, While we
live in these earthly bodies, we groan and sigh, but it s not that we want to die and get rid of these
bodies that clothe us. Rather, we want to put on our new bodies so that these dying bodies will be
swallowed up by life. I knew that verse, yet I still never made the connections in my head. While our
earthly bodies do not go up to heaven, I believe our souls do until the Lord returns and then we will be
raised with our new bodies. If we die before the Lord returns, then we will be with the Lord in heaven,
yet not complete until he returns to the earth. One thing that Wright says that I do not agree with is,
...immortality is something that only God possesses by nature and that then he shares, as a gift of
grace rather than an innate possession, with his people (161). I believe that everyone will live forever,

Cooperation In Ukraine
The major trading partners of Ukraine in 2014 were Germany (17.9%), Poland (13.5%), and Italy
(9.3%).
Their cooperation consist in several different areas. For Germany, as an example, cooperation
consisted of inter parliamentary cooperation, economic cooperation which began in 2005 in areas such
as energy, banking system, agriculture, coal industry, metallurgy, transportation, engineering and
public utility infrastructure. Legal cooperation also exists in the arenas of economy, industry, science
and technology, promotion, and agreement to avoid double taxation of taxes, as well as trade,
economic, and investment cooperation.

in? Explain and provide examples (talk about at least 3 organizations).
Ukraine cooperates with international organizations the Council of Europe, UNESCO, and NATO.
With NATO, Ukraine signed a charter that set political commitments of both sides to continue
developing on high level a distinctive and effective partnership, which will promote further stability
and common democratic values in Central and Eastern Europe ( Ministry of Foreign Affairs of
Ukraine). It also set the foundation on which NATO and Ukraine agreed to work together for Euro
Atlantic security and stability and in the areas such as conflict prevention, crisis management, peace
support and humanitarian operations (Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine). NATO Ukraine
relations deal with problems, boost mutual efforts and interaction for consolidating peace and stability
in Europe, and maintaining legal standards to meet those of the new European community.
Ukraine cooperates with the WTO. Ukraine became a full fledged member of the Organization in mid

The New Business Of Emerson
In the year of 1888 a company by the name of ASCO was founded, and the company still exists today
but they are now known as the popular business of Emerson. They were manufacturers of elevators,
compressors and generator controls. But in the year of 1889 a man by the name of Almon Strowger
created the basis for the first practical telephone switch that would later develop into a large scale
system that could hold many phone lines at once. Strowger s original switch had a 10x10 contact bank
that allowed it to hold up to 100 different telephones. That doesn t seem like a lot but based on the
year, this is an innovation that would help change the communication world for the better. In the
Strowger switch, pulses generated by a telephone user directly moved electromagnetic contacts in a
two way motion in a stack of rotary contacts, then a telephone number, selected one digit at a time,
without operator use could be dialed and connected. (http://ethw.org/Electromechanical_Telephone
Switching) The system worked in two different ways. The first being uniselector which is operated by
a selector that is in the starting position and has a moving contact on the end of it called a wiper. These
wipers are used to make electrical connection to the bank contacts or phone lines. The wipers were
operated by an electromagnet called a driving magnet. Current would flow through the windings of
the magnet which would cause an attraction of the armature to establish a connection. As an input

The Night Of Dawn Broke Over The Tamorian Plains, Larah...
When dawn broke over the Tamorian plains, Larah awoke alone. Both Riasean and their recent guest,
Coronados, were missing. As she started to gather her gear, Riasean appeared, wearing a frown.
Where is your friend? she asked.
He is gone, he stated in a sharp tone. Left about a couple of hours ago. We talked, very briefly.
Which way was he headed? she asked.
South, he replied, Or so he said.
You don t trust him, do you?
Riasean chuckled. Would you?
She looked earnestly at him. No.
He grabbed his saddlebags and walked over to the stable. Let s get going. We should reach Tenoach by
nightfall.

But this was was uncommon, as most buildings ranged from decrepit to inhabitable. Larah wondered
if all city dwellers had to live in such dilapidated conditions.
Riasean did not appear to share her impression. Instead, a half smile crept upon his features.
Then she smelled it. Of what exactly she could not tell perhaps horse manure, rotting garbage, sweat
or some other noxious combination. Like a dirty blanket, the stench hung in the air, invading the
senses in an unavoidable and persistent manner. She pulled the loose flap of her hood over her nose
and mouth in a feeble attempt to keep it out of her lungs.
I will take you to the Black Boar Tavern, near the river; it s about the only decent place to stay in the
city, Riasean stated. His eyes slowly panned about, a studied gaze now gracing his features. Larah
nodded between gulps of air.
As they neared the river, the sun rose to its noon perch mixing heat into the aromatic stew through
which they rode. Several times Larah eyes watered and she coughed. Even so, she derived a small bit
of comfort from Riasean also having to cover his face. The few people they passed hid in the shadows
or huddled in doorways. A few glanced up curiously but then ducked into alleys. Several times they
had to backtrack, either because of crowds or debris blocking the street.
Eventually, they reached the river, framed by buildings fronting it, small quays and row boats lazing
along the banks, where dark green water slithered along,

Analysis Of Yasumasa Morimura s Film Making And...
Yasumasa Morimura (born in 1951, Japan) has had a career in film making and conceptual
photography for over three decades. Morimura uses costumes, makeup props and digital manipulation
to create an almost replica of the original artwork, replacing the original subject with himself.
Morimura graduated from the Kyōto City University of Arts in 1978 and then became an assistant at
that same university. During his time working he experimented with many mediums and styles
including painting, photography and wood block art. He soon became recognized for his artworks and
began to be involved in traveling shows such as Japanese Art After 1945: Scream Against the Sky
(1994). After some time, and with critics watching skeptically, he began to ... Show more content on

However, the artworks can also be compared in structure and concept. For example, Bruegel s artwork
refers to the concept in Matthew 15:14 of If the blind lead the blind, both will fall into a pit, (Holy
Bible) while Morimura takes it a step further a focuses specifically on consumerism in today s society.
Although the background is the same, though perhaps a bit darker, Morimura has altered the costumes
and colors to suit his audience. The six figures, representing consumerism in each major country, who
were originally dressed in plain clothes have been grossly overdressed in the appropriation. Their
clothes are bright and create a stark contrast against the darkened background. The differences and
similarities, between the structure and relation to the people of the time, in these two artworks creates
a stronger understanding of Blinded by the Light
Yasumasa Morimmura s appropriation of Parable of the Blind can be interpreted and understood by
deconstructing its physical aspects. Morimura went through many steps before the artwork reached
completion. Before he could start developing the actual artwork he had to obtain a copy of the original
artwork and figure out where and how he would have to stand. He developed a fresh concept and fresh
features for his appropriation. After this it was just a matter of dressing up and scanning each
photograph of himself onto the background of the Bruegel s artwork. Morimura inserted many

North America Vs North Korea Essay
Imagine a life living in North Korea. A country so isolated and cut off from the rest of the world. After
many years after the war, North Korea and America have not been at a complete truce. North Korea
holds America responsible for tearing their country into two parts, North and South. Nevertheless
there are many similarities and differences between America and North Korea.
An impoverished country of more than twenty five million people, North Korea, also known as the
Democratic People s Republic of Korea (DPRK) was founded by the revolutionary leader Kim IL
Sung after the end of World War II. North Korea began as an independent kingdom for much of its
long history. Both North and South Korea were under Japanese control in 1905 until the country was
split after the end of World War II. Located in eastern Asia in the northern half of the Korean
Peninsula, bordering the Korea Bay and the Sea of Japan, North Korea sits in a strategic location
bordering China, Russia, and South Korea. North Korea is slightly larger than the state of Virginia, but
slightly smaller than the state of Mississippi and is mostly comprised of large mountains and steep
hills separated ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A threat that a few may underestimate in a way. Because of their advance in nuclear capability and
missile systems North Korea in the next ten years could possibly be the biggest threat to the United
States and surrounding countries. Because they are so isolated and living in increased famine and
poverty like a wild animal backed into a corner, North Korea one day could feel like they have
nothing left to lose and feel as if they need to resort to other means such as a major conflict in order to
preserve their lifestyle and way of life. If a major conflict was to break out with North Korea then we
have to consider all other possible countries involved, such as Russia and China who could side with
North Korea and fight against the United

Essay on Comparing Arnold Schwarzenegger and Adolf Hitler
Comparing Arnold Schwarzenegger and Adolf Hitler
To learn history means to seek and find the forces which are the causes leading to those effects which
we subsequently perceive as historical events. Adolf Hitler Growing up poor in a small town in
Austria he had dreams of becoming famous; some would even say this dream soon became an
obsession. This fascination soon engulfed his life, viewing his goals as a catalyst for a better life. After
a brief stint in the army he pursued this dream and learned to use propaganda as a springboard to
achieve a high ranking position in a political party. This political party was currently in power in the
country he had immigrated to in his twenties, a country he could now call his own. Two ... Show more

The Background
I believe today that I am acting in the sense of the Almighty Creator. By warding off the Jews I am
fighting for the Lord s work. Adolf Hitler
To fully understand the views expressed in this paper, it is necessary to understand Adolf Hitler and to
provide context as to why Schwarzenegger is being compared to what many believe to be the
embodiment of evil itself. This section of the paper will focus on the background of both states:
California and Nazi Germany.
In 1929 Germany was hit with the final blow to an already struggling nation; the Great Depression.
Black Tuesday hit Germany in the midst of a naval blockade, extreme hyperinflation, and poverty for
many Germans. Many historians believe that the blockade against Germany was the main reason for
the rise of Nazism and consequently World War II. Regardless, Germany was in a time of crisis and in
desperate need of salvation.
In 2003, California, while not suffering from the same magnitude of crisis as pre Nazi Germany, was
by no means experiencing prosperity. California was in the midst of an extreme unbalance: suffering
from a massive debt, a governor who seemed unable to help, and increasing unemployment. Residents
were exhausted of false promises made by former governors and looking for change. A recall was
ordered on Governor

Comparing Vampire And The Vampire Diaries
Vampires are very present in today s society. Many novels and shows, like Twilight and The Vampire
Diaries, show that vampires are still integral to our culture. However, the birth of such a cultural
phenomenon would not have happened without Dracula. Without Bram Stoker s novel, there would be
no stereotypical vampires that capture the culture s conscious. Aside from telling a story on vampires,
Dracula also explores ideals about the women of the time in which it was written, which is the
Victorian Era. Throughout the Victorian period, one of the predominant concerns was the role of
women and the place they fill in their society. Dracula is one of many Victorian novels that explore the
varying roles women filled. Two of the characters ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In one correspondence between her friend and Mina, Lucy discusses what it means to be a woman by
calling it a cult. This cult reflects the expectation of women to serve as domestic homemakers and not
venture outside the idea of marriage. The identity of women is something that is not meant to be seen
as an individual but in terms of their utility to the sustenance of man. This point can be proven by not
only some of Lucy s thoughts in the text but in many of her descriptions by other characters in the text
as well. This lack of individuality in support of patriarchy is reflected in everything that Lucy does.
The order of her day, where she will live, and even the smallest details of how she will speak. There is
one instance in a conversation with her friend Mina that Lucy notes how she will only speak in a
manner that her husband will like. Women in this age where expected to be this way, always dutiful
and deferential to men, whether it be their husbands, fathers or brothers. This inferiority to men is
important to note because it helps play into Stoker s (among other Victorian writers and Victorian
people s views in general) character development of the women. In Dracula, Stoker illustrates some
women as overtly sexual beings and other women as pure, chaste creatures. These depictions are
represented through the different female characters. The characterization of the women who show the
varying representations are reflections of the ideal

Romania is situated in the southeast of Europe, to the north of the Balkan Mountains. It has a

make up the rest of the population. The official language is Romanian, the only language of Latin

The white blouse is also a basic item in male costume, tightened at the waist with a woolen sash or
leather belt. This is usually worn with narrow, white trousers. A typical piece of headgear for men is
the hat made of lambskin, black felt, or straw depending on the time of year and the local tradition.
Romania preserved a significant number of traditional customs and celebrations manifest within the
strong community of the village. Ceremonies dedicated to the significant moments of one s life (birth,
wedding, death), to natural cycles (such as solstice, equinox, harvest, springtime) or to the big
religious celebrations, follow the same archaic mythical rituals they did a thousand years ago. Even
though preformed in 21st century in villages marked by modernization, such traditional rites haven t
diminish their prestige. They still provide viable answers to how to live in harmony with the
environment and community, that the present social and economical system cannot furnish.
During winter solstice, when the sun is weak and frost and dryness take over, Romanian peasants
conceived ceremonies to help the Sun and Nature to overcome this temporary crisis. For 12 days
between Christmas and St. John on January 7th, all Romanian villages have specific celebrations,
starting with children s caroling on Christmas eve: Mos Ajun or Buna Dimineata (Good Morning).

The Implementation Of Senate Bill 14
Your question concerns the implementation of Senate Bill 14, which added new voter identification
requirements for in person voting statewide. Prior to June 26, 2013; Texas and a number of other
states and political subdivisions could not alter their voting requirements without preclearance from
either the U.S. Attorney General or a three judge panel sitting for the U.S. District Court of the District
of Columbia. Following the Supreme Court decision in Shelby County, Ala. v. Holder, states beholden
to the preclearance requirement were released, subject to an amendment to the coverage formula in §
4(b) of the Voting Rights Act of 1965. While you understand that Texas now has equal ability to alter
its election procedures as states never covered by § 4(b), you desire to do so in a way that would not
again bring the Texas legislature s exercise of authority under the scrutiny of Congress or the
Constitution. Senate Bill 14 amended, most significantly, Sec. 63.0101 of the Election Code the
Documentation of Proof of Identification section. Texas voters could previously show their (1) voter
certificate, (2) any ID issued by a government agency in any state, whether or not the ID was expired,
(3) any photo ID that established identity, (4) birth certificate or equivalent document, (5) U.S.

Domesticated Rats Research Paper
Recently, some of the most populated cities around the world are experiencing a rodent crisis . Though
they have only been around for a few decades, recent research suggests that rats have learned to adapt
and evolve along with humans. As expected, rodents such as rats and mice thrive in urban areas,
where humans provide food and shelter.
Members of the genus Rattus originate from Australia and Asia. Typically, people confuse rats with
mice because they share similar characteristics but, rats can be differentiated from mice. Rats are
commonly medium size rodents that have a thin tail and longer, thinner bodies compared to mice.
There are approximately fifty species of rats in the world. Rats are commonly found in almost every
type of environment ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Additionally, understanding urban rat ecology can help diminish the harmful effects such as structural
damage, food contamination, and disease spread that rats can have on urban ecosystems. The survey
results suggested that rat infestations fluctuate seasonally and that there are a variety of environmental
factors that may attract rats, particularly exposed garbage, abandoned buildings, and compost. The
article also argues that rat infestations are severe in residential areas, commercial areas dealing with
food, as well as in neighborhoods of low socioeconomic status. Generally, rats pose at least a
moderate health risk to the public and although poison baiting is the cheapest and easiest method of rat
control, environmental modification is the most effective way to control rat infestations in the long
term (Feng, A. Y., T., Himsworth, C. G.,

Gone With The Wind Film Analysis
Gone With The Wind is classic a 1939 movie about the pre civil war to post civil war era. It was a
major step in the movie industry many people loved what the movie resembled and how it related to
the events that occured during that era. The movie is famously known for the scene where Rhett tells
Scarlet Frankly my dear, I don t give a damn. Soon after he leaves. It s also known for the scene where
Rhett is telling Scarlett that she needs kissing badly.
The film opens with Scarlett O Hara surrounded by admirers, but she is crushed when her father,
Gerald O Hara, tells her of Ashley Wilkes upcoming marriage to his cousin Melanie Hamilton.
Scarlett s father also reminds her of the importance and permanence of the land and their home, Tara,
but she is too distraught to listen to him.
At a barbeque the next day at Twelve Oaks, the neighboring plantation, Scarlett is surrounded by even
more admirers, but she is overtaken by jealousy when she sees Ashley and Melanie together. The
roguish Rhett Butler sees Scarlett on the staircase and expresses interest in her, but Scarlett corners
Ashley in the library to confess her love for him. When Ashley says they are too different to be
together and leaves, Rhett reveals he has been listening the whole time.
The war quickly follows. Scarlett agrees to marry Charles Hamilton and holds the ceremony a day
after Ashley and Melanie wed. Soon after, Scarlett receives a letter informing her of Charles s death in
the war. Scarlett travels to Atlanta to stay with Melanie and her aunt, and while there she meets Rhett
again. Now a cynical war hero, Rhett pays $150 to dance with Scarlett at a charity ball. Those
listening are shocked by the offer, but Scarlett seizes on his offer as her only chance to dance, since
she is in her mourning period, and agrees. Afterward, Rhett visits her regularly.
The South begins to crumble as the war continues and deaths mount. Scarlett works as a volunteer
nurse tending to wounded and dying soldiers. She still pines for Ashley, who during his leave makes
Scarlett promise to look after Melanie. Atlanta is attacked by the Yankees, and in the resulting chaos

Application Of An Electronic Health Record
Empower
As a nurse facilitator walking into a room of disgruntled nurses, the task of planning or an electronic
medical record adoption will not be an easy task. However, with the right approach, this endeavor can
be motivating. Our future is dependent on our ability to adapt to an ever evolving healthcare system
that is becoming increasingly integrated with a dynamic technology explosion. Nursing leaders need
to develop insight into healthcare s future and prepare the foundation for the changes that are a
prerequisite to leading the nursing division in the right direction. Murphy (2011) called this leading
from the future (p. 25). To embrace these changes, we need to learn how to role model the nursing
strength obtained from technology. Implementation of an electronic health record (EHR) is one of the
foundational requirements necessary to prepare a foundation for a technology future both healthcare
delivery and our nursing profession. This paper will review the strategies necessary to support upstate
New York adopt an EHR system based on the framework of Roger s (2003) diffusion theory.
Roger s Theory
The five qualities of adopting new technology relative advantage, compatibility, simplicity, trialability,

element will be considered during the meetings with staff and implementation of the EHR.

Reaction Paper On Birth Control
In between the years of 1914 up until 1921 of the birth control pill was starting to be developed.
Activist Margaret Sanger opens the first birth control clinic in Brownsville, Brooklyn, and starts the
American Birth Control League, the precursor to Planned Parenthood. A few years later, in 1934, an
Endocrinologist Gregory Pincus uses a test tube and a rabbit to help develop a contraceptive device.
About seventeen years later, specifically in 1951, Sanger meets Pincus at a party in New York, and
this is where Sanger persuades Pincus to help out with work on a birth control pill. Meanwhile, in that
same year another chemist from Mexico city, named Carl Djerassi, creates a similar pill. He does this
by synthesizing hormones from Mexican yams. Even though pill has been invented, Djerassi isn t
equipped to test, to produce, or to even distribute it. This in turn means that Sanger and Djerassi are
competing in a way. About a year later, in 1952 Gregory Pincus tests progesterone in rats. From this
experiment Pincus figures out that it actually works. Afterwards, he meets gynecologist named John
Rock. Rock already began testing a chemical contraception for women. The next year, Katherine
McCormick who is a biologist, a women s rights activist, writes Pincus a check for $40,000 to conduct
research into furthering research about the pill. From this large amount of money, Rock and Pincus are
able to conduct the one of the first human trials. The trials is based off of fifty women that

services through a per month fee rather than a pay as you go rate. Although the company used to offer
a combined subscription rate for DVD rentals and online streaming together, in 2011 Netflix divided
these features into the two packages. It is $7.99 for the basic online streaming package and $7.99 for
the DVD rental by mail package. If a customer wants to have both features they much purchase both

They have done so by creating mutually beneficial relationships with a number of entertainment video
providers. Their second main strategy is focused on product differentiation. Not only how customers
obtain the content and use it, but also what customers choose what to watch. Netflix s leading
competitive advantage lies within their unique software. The software takes what a customer has
watched or rated and based upon that information builds a list of suggested titles similar to ones they
have just watched. While other companies like Blockbuster has transitioned into the rent by mail niche
category that Netflix had started, no other company has customer profiling software quite like Netflix.
It is continuously updating their smart selection technology to keep up with customer needs. Over the
past few years the film rental market underwent a major shift. The in store rental market plummeted
by nearly $2 million, while vending machine rentals increased by about ten times the amount and by
mail rentals nearly doubled. However, Video On Demand (VOD) services obtained through cable,
digital, and subscription also saw even larger increases. All of these changes meant companies like
Blockbuster and Hollywood Video had to either restructure and make a complete business model shift
or face bankruptcy. Meanwhile, the increases for by mail rentals and VOD subscription, both of which

Nursing Conflict In Nursing
Introduction
No matter where we find ourselves in life, there will always be some conflict(s) that we will need to
face. Some may be simple issues of miscommunications or more complex, involving several factors,
considerations, and implications that must be accounted for when solving the conflicts at hand.
Settings such as nursing homes, clinics, and hospitals are especially susceptible to high numbers of
conflicts of various natures due to the numerous parties involved in each environment. Nurses, face an
increased risk of getting into conflicts due to the multiple roles they could hold, such as manager,
caregiver, and instructor. According to Dr. Higazee, These roles lead to various types of interactions
among nurses and other healthcare team members, which significantly increase the probability for
conflict to arise in hospital settings among nurses (Higazee, 2015). Therefore, conflicts are not
something that can be eliminated from the lives of nurses; however, nurses can be given the skills and
techniques to manage the conflicts that do arise. Although the word conflict has a negative
connotation attached to it, there is a positive perspective that can be viewed as Finkelman (2016) says,
It can be used to improve if changes are made to address problems related to the conflict (p. 324).

Shinto s Role In Creatio Creation Mythology
Shinto is the indigenous religion of Japan. It can best be described as a structured system of animism.
The word Shinto comes from Chinese characters (shen and tao), meaning divine being and the way
respectively. Therefore the total meaning of Shinto is The Way of the Divine Beings/Spirits. (British
Broadcasting Corporation, 2011) It is unclear when the Shinto belief came about, but it most likely has
its earliest roots in animism. These animistic beliefs were expressed in the form of spirits called kami.
The kami are beings that are present in all aspects of nature and consist of major deities, ancestor
spirits, and minor spirits who have significance in a specific community. (Wilkinson, 2012, p. 263)
Several of these kami have had extreme importance in Japanese creation mythology and Shinto belief.

This was in a time before land had formed on the Earth, and the entire planet was in a syrupy state like
oil floating on water. (Miekichi, 1920, p. 2) Ame ordered them to Firm up that gently floating land and

pike in the syrupy material, stirring the waters of the primordial Earth. When the pike was lifted from
the waters, brine fell onto the surface of the ocean, becoming the first island of Japan. The two gods

The Concept of Blood Atonement behind Judaism and...
The idea of using blood of a living creature, (typically an animal s) in order to blot out immorality, or
better known as sin, can be traced back to the roots of primal civilization. Specifically in Judaism, the
ritual started in which an animal was sacrificed in order to cover the sins of a person or multiple
people. As we presently observe the traditions of Judaism we do not find any sign of animal sacrifice,
with an exception of orthodox Jews. While on the other hand, Fundamentalist Latter Day Saints
(FLDS) will be found to zealously observe blood atonement in their practices today. The significance
and importance that was placed in blood atonement, through animal sacrifice, no longer has the same
affect in Judaism traditions because of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One story in the Bible that might draw to the assumption that Yahweh required human sacrifice is the
account of Abraham being asked by God to sacrifice his son Isaac. God stopped Abraham, with knife
in hand, from sacrificing Isaac. Deuteronomy 12:31 further supports that Judaism culture did not
regard human sacrifice as virtuous: You must not worship the Lord your God in their way, because in
worshiping their gods, they do all kinds of detestable things the Lord hates. They even burn their sons
and daughters in the fire as sacrifices to their gods.
Even though animal sacrificing was a center tradition of Judaism, it ceased in the year 70 A.D. after
the Roman army had destroyed the Jewish temple in Jerusalem (Dumbrell). Deuteronomy says thou
offer not thy burnt offerings in every place that thou seest : But in the place which the LORD shall
choose in one of thy tribes Thus the custom of animal sacrificing could no longer continue in the
culture of Judaism. Regardless, there were other ways in

The Transition Of African American Literature
All throughout history you have many African American authors or writers who chose to write stories
about their lives. These stories are written in many different ways, and they gave us a true insight on
what was going during certain time periods. Also on how they lived or was treated during their
lifetime. This transition of literature, or writings ranged from those who grew up on a plantation
having to live out their whole lives as a slaves to those who were free, but they lived under the
constriction of Jim Crow laws. Another transition that can be seen through writing is how African
Americans went from living under Jim Crow to where we are today; having it where African
Americans are free with equal rights. With the help of African Americans

Satire of a Modest Proposal Essay
Irony is a beautiful technique exercised to convey a message or call a certain group of people to
action. This rhetorical skill is artfully used by Jonathan Swift in his pamphlet A Modest Proposal. The
main argument for this mordantly ironic essay is to capture the attention of a disconnected and
indifferent audience. Swift makes his point by stringing together a dreadfully twisted set of morally
untenable positions in order to cast blame and aspersions on his intended audience. Jonathan Swift s A
Modest Proposal employs despicably vivid satire to call for change in a world of abuse and
misfortune. The entire proposal stands as a satire in itself; an analogy paralleling the tyrannical
attitude of the British toward their Irish ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The British have reigned over the Irish so long and so cruelly that they have left Ireland in state of
dependence psychologically, politically, and economically. In other words, the ideology of Protestant
consumption has actually eroded the self confidence and sense of worth of the Irish so badly that it has
left Ireland a nation unable to sustain itself (Mahoney). England is eating up Ireland. But this
tribulation cannot be blamed solely on the British. Swift cleverly condemns the British aristocracy for
their mistreatment of the Irish people while also criticizing the Irish people for allowing this
exploitation. The Irish have done nothing to halt the terrorizing nature of their domineering
counterparts. Swift uses this proposal to the wretched Irish situation (Lockwood). By rigorously
underplaying the aspect of fantasy in his proposal, Swift suggests the Irish have arrived at a condition
in which such a plan may be seriously considered (Lockwood). Booth describes that every detail of
Swift s proposal supports the inference that the woes of Ireland make, indeed, a melancholy Object. In
essence, the anger against the English is used merely to heighten Swift s own dismay over the way
Ireland has conducted itself (Booth). Swift craftily causes readers to question more than just how to
fix the problems in fraught Ireland. Through the supreme verbal irony of his

Emily Dickinson And John Donne Essay
What do they want you to feel? Poetry can evoke certain feelings from the reader and its audience. It
pulls clear vibes from the way the poet wants to portray their work. Think of it this way, mood is the
entire atmosphere of the literary piece. It can be interpreted in many ways. There s no right or wrong
answer when it comes down to you and the emotions it awakens. The words in a poetry piece can
evoke different ranges and varieties of feelings from the reader. Overall, it serves to stimulate an
emotional situation.
William Shakespeare, Emily Dickinson, and John Donne all seem to elicit thoughts and ideas from the
readers of their pieces. Shall I Compare Thee To A Summer s Day is a poem where the author is

deepest of his soul, from a love so powerful that couldn t be. Donne s love poetry was written nearly
four hundred years ago; yet one reason for its appeal is that it speaks to us as directly and urgently as
if we overhear a present confidence. (Poetry Foundation) The author mentions he has deep affections
for a woman that does not reciprocate the same feelings. John Donne can not seem to conclude why
the woman does not feel the same way about him if the woman has experienced love before. As hes

Wilfred Owen s Dulce Et Decorum Est
The Horrors of War: An Explication of Wilfred Owen s Dulce et Decorum Est
Dulce et Decorum est Pro patria mori; it is sweet and honorable to die for one s country. Wilfred
Owen is just one of many to be told this lie. Owen himself had seen the horrors of war during his time
serving in World War I and explains to the readers just how horrid it truly is in his poem Dulce et
Decorum Est. He creates the mental image of the pain and suffering he and so many other soldiers had
to experience on the battlefield. His poem creates the central idea that there is no sweetness or honor
in dying in war.
First of all, the first stanza shows the pain the soldiers endured. Owen says, knock kneed, coughing
like hags, we cursed through sludge (line 2). Owen uses a simile here to show that they were having
violent coughing fits due to the toxic materials. This goes along with what he mentions as sludge,
which is all the vile toxins around them tearing the soldiers lungs apart. In addition, Owen specifically
mentions the haunting flares, showing the emotional toll that war can have (line 3). He uses
personification to give the flares (rockets) the attribute of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Owen describes it as a scene of great panic and a rush as everyone struggles to get his or her gas mask
on. He shows in gruesome detail the fate of those not fortunate enough to save themselves, but
someone still was yelling out and stumbling / and flound ring like a man on fire (line 11 12). His use
of a simile is comparing the reaction of the man who was exposed to the gas to that of one who is on
fire. He draws this comparison to show the burning, scarring pain that one has to endure through the
horrors of war. After seeing someone doomed to such a fate, one can not simply unsee it; it is destined
to remain in one s dreams for life. This does not seem like the glorious death that is promised when
dying for one s

  • 2. Themes In Shakespeare s Comedy Of Errors By William... The lights dim, the audience is quiet, and the characters begin to gather on the stage. The audience finds themselves in the middle of New York City, captivated by the seriousness of the actors. A girl in a trench coat, who is revealed as the duke, sits down in a chair with two people at her side. Distraught and aggravated, a boy with grayed hair and a cane comes out, who says his name is Egeon. The story begins through this tense and uptight interaction between the characters, and suddenly the audience finds themselves lost in the ideas of Shakespeare. Comedy of Errors, an enthralling and entertaining play written by William Shakespeare, contains a riveting and unique storyline. The story begins with the forlorn idea of a father trying to discover and reunite his family who was split apart by a shipwreck. Egeon, who is introduced in the first act, is the father of two twins named Antipholus of Ephesus and Antipholus of Syracuse. Antipholus of Ephesus has grown up with his father, but his long lost twin has been off living his own life. Along with this set of twins, comes their servants Dromio of Ephesus and Dromio of Syracuse who are also twins and unaware of each other. The humor in this play lies in the fact that both sets of twins and Egeon are all in the same city, but are oblivious to this throughout the play. The plot continues to progress through the multiple interactions the twins and their servants have with other characters. Throughout these encounters, the other ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Surprised By Hope Analysis In the book Surprised by Hope by N. T. Wright, he discusses salvation, the new creation, what our bodies will be like after Christ returns. Will the heavens come down to earth or will humans go up to heaven? These are all points that Christians need to ask themselves and begin to think about. He lays these topics out in clear, concise ways so the reader can comprehend what his points are. All throughout his book, the theme of a new heaven and new earth are constantly being thrown around. Wright uses Philippians 3:20 that says, But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ to back up his claim that ... (he) will come from heaven to earth, to change the present situation and state of his ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... According to Wright, they will be immortal. He puts it like this, In particular, this new body will be immortal. That is, it will have passed beyond death not just in the temporal sense but also the ontological sense of no longer being subject to sickness, injury, decay, and death itself (160) This means that we are going to have stronger, healthier, more perfect bodies that God will give us as a gift of love. We may not even look the same, something will be different about our bodies. In fact, when Jesus was resurrected from the dead the disciples did not recognize him. This was a man whom they had worked for years with and for, yet they did not recognize him in the new body. Wright claims that this immorality is different than the common idea of immorality. He says that people believe immorality has to do with souls, not bodies. After I read this, I immediately disagreed with that, because I have only thought of immorality of souls living forever, not bodies. After I had thought over this statement a bit more, I found myself agreeing with it. In fact, 2 Corinthians 5:4 says, While we live in these earthly bodies, we groan and sigh, but it s not that we want to die and get rid of these bodies that clothe us. Rather, we want to put on our new bodies so that these dying bodies will be swallowed up by life. I knew that verse, yet I still never made the connections in my head. While our earthly bodies do not go up to heaven, I believe our souls do until the Lord returns and then we will be raised with our new bodies. If we die before the Lord returns, then we will be with the Lord in heaven, yet not complete until he returns to the earth. One thing that Wright says that I do not agree with is, ...immortality is something that only God possesses by nature and that then he shares, as a gift of grace rather than an innate possession, with his people (161). I believe that everyone will live forever, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. The New Business Of Emerson In the year of 1888 a company by the name of ASCO was founded, and the company still exists today but they are now known as the popular business of Emerson. They were manufacturers of elevators, compressors and generator controls. But in the year of 1889 a man by the name of Almon Strowger created the basis for the first practical telephone switch that would later develop into a large scale system that could hold many phone lines at once. Strowger s original switch had a 10x10 contact bank that allowed it to hold up to 100 different telephones. That doesn t seem like a lot but based on the year, this is an innovation that would help change the communication world for the better. In the Strowger switch, pulses generated by a telephone user directly moved electromagnetic contacts in a two way motion in a stack of rotary contacts, then a telephone number, selected one digit at a time, without operator use could be dialed and connected. (http://ethw.org/Electromechanical_Telephone Switching) The system worked in two different ways. The first being uniselector which is operated by a selector that is in the starting position and has a moving contact on the end of it called a wiper. These wipers are used to make electrical connection to the bank contacts or phone lines. The wipers were operated by an electromagnet called a driving magnet. Current would flow through the windings of the magnet which would cause an attraction of the armature to establish a connection. As an input ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. The Night Of Dawn Broke Over The Tamorian Plains, Larah... When dawn broke over the Tamorian plains, Larah awoke alone. Both Riasean and their recent guest, Coronados, were missing. We should reach Tenoach by nightfall. Shouldn t we have something to eat first? He turned and tossed her a small bag. Larah wondered if all city dwellers had to live in such dilapidated conditions. Riasean did not appear to share her impression. Instead, a half smile crept upon his features. Then she smelled it. Of what exactly she could not tell perhaps horse manure, rotting garbage, sweat or some other noxious combination. Like a dirty blanket, the stench hung in the air, invading the senses in an unavoidable and persistent manner. She pulled the loose flap of her hood over her nose and mouth in a feeble attempt to keep it out of her lungs. I will take you to the Black Boar Tavern, near the river; it s about the only decent place to stay in the city, Riasean stated. His eyes slowly panned about, a studied gaze now gracing his features. Larah nodded between gulps of air. As they neared the river, the sun rose to its noon perch mixing heat into the aromatic stew through which they rode. Several times Larah eyes watered and she coughed. Even so, she derived a small bit of comfort from Riasean also having to cover his face. The few people they passed hid in the shadows or huddled in doorways. A few glanced up curiously but then ducked into alleys. Several times they had to backtrack, either because of crowds or debris blocking the street. • 7. Analysis Of Yasumasa Morimura s Film Making And... Yasumasa Morimura (born in 1951, Japan) has had a career in film making and conceptual photography for over three decades. Morimura uses costumes, makeup props and digital manipulation to create an almost replica of the original artwork, replacing the original subject with himself. Morimura graduated from the Kyōto City University of Arts in 1978 and then became an assistant at that same university. During his time working he experimented with many mediums and styles including painting, photography and wood block art. For example, Bruegel s artwork refers to the concept in Matthew 15:14 of If the blind lead the blind, both will fall into a pit, (Holy Bible) while Morimura takes it a step further a focuses specifically on consumerism in today s society. Although the background is the same, though perhaps a bit darker, Morimura has altered the costumes and colors to suit his audience. The six figures, representing consumerism in each major country, who were originally dressed in plain clothes have been grossly overdressed in the appropriation. Their clothes are bright and create a stark contrast against the darkened background. The differences and similarities, between the structure and relation to the people of the time, in these two artworks creates a stronger understanding of Blinded by the Light Yasumasa Morimmura s appropriation of Parable of the Blind can be interpreted and understood by deconstructing its physical aspects. Morimura went through many steps before the artwork reached completion. Before he could start developing the actual artwork he had to obtain a copy of the original artwork and figure out where and how he would have to stand. He developed a fresh concept and fresh features for his appropriation. After this it was just a matter of dressing up and scanning each photograph of himself onto the background of the Bruegel s artwork. Morimura inserted many additional ... After many years after the war, North Korea and America have not been at a complete truce. North Korea holds America responsible for tearing their country into two parts, North and South. Nevertheless there are many similarities and differences between America and North Korea. An impoverished country of more than twenty five million people, North Korea, also known as the Democratic People s Republic of Korea (DPRK) was founded by the revolutionary leader Kim IL Sung after the end of World War II. North Korea began as an independent kingdom for much of its long history. Both North and South Korea were under Japanese control in 1905 until the country was split after the end of World War II. Located in eastern Asia in the northern half of the Korean Peninsula, bordering the Korea Bay and the Sea of Japan, North Korea sits in a strategic location bordering China, Russia, and South Korea. Adolf Hitler Growing up poor in a small town in Austria he had dreams of becoming famous; some would even say this dream soon became an obsession. This fascination soon engulfed his life, viewing his goals as a catalyst for a better life. The Background I believe today that I am acting in the sense of the Almighty Creator. By warding off the Jews I am fighting for the Lord s work. Adolf Hitler To fully understand the views expressed in this paper, it is necessary to understand Adolf Hitler and to provide context as to why Schwarzenegger is being compared to what many believe to be the embodiment of evil itself. This section of the paper will focus on the background of both states: California and Nazi Germany. In 1929 Germany was hit with the final blow to an already struggling nation; the Great Depression. Black Tuesday hit Germany in the midst of a naval blockade, extreme hyperinflation, and poverty for many Germans. Many historians believe that the blockade against Germany was the main reason for the rise of Nazism and consequently World War II. Regardless, Germany was in a time of crisis and in desperate need of salvation. In 2003, California, while not suffering from the same magnitude of crisis as pre Nazi Germany, was by no means experiencing prosperity. California was in the midst of an extreme unbalance: suffering from a massive debt, a governor who seemed unable to help, and increasing unemployment. Residents were exhausted of false promises made by former governors and looking for change. A recall was ordered on Governor ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 10. Comparing Vampire And The Vampire Diaries Vampires are very present in today s society. Many novels and shows, like Twilight and The Vampire Diaries, show that vampires are still integral to our culture. However, the birth of such a cultural phenomenon would not have happened without Dracula. Without Bram Stoker s novel, there would be no stereotypical vampires that capture the culture s conscious. Aside from telling a story on vampires, Dracula also explores ideals about the women of the time in which it was written, which is the Victorian Era. Throughout the Victorian period, one of the predominant concerns was the role of women and the place they fill in their society. Dracula is one of many Victorian novels that explore the varying roles women filled. Two of the characters ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In one correspondence between her friend and Mina, Lucy discusses what it means to be a woman by calling it a cult. This cult reflects the expectation of women to serve as domestic homemakers and not venture outside the idea of marriage. The identity of women is something that is not meant to be seen as an individual but in terms of their utility to the sustenance of man. This point can be proven by not only some of Lucy s thoughts in the text but in many of her descriptions by other characters in the text as well. This lack of individuality in support of patriarchy is reflected in everything that Lucy does. The order of her day, where she will live, and even the smallest details of how she will speak. There is one instance in a conversation with her friend Mina that Lucy notes how she will only speak in a manner that her husband will like. Women in this age where expected to be this way, always dutiful and deferential to men, whether it be their husbands, fathers or brothers. This inferiority to men is important to note because it helps play into Stoker s (among other Victorian writers and Victorian people s views in general) character development of the women. In Dracula, Stoker illustrates some women as overtly sexual beings and other women as pure, chaste creatures. These depictions are represented through the different female characters. • 12. The Implementation Of Senate Bill 14 Your question concerns the implementation of Senate Bill 14, which added new voter identification requirements for in person voting statewide. Prior to June 26, 2013; Texas and a number of other states and political subdivisions could not alter their voting requirements without preclearance from either the U.S. Attorney General or a three judge panel sitting for the U.S. District Court of the District of Columbia. Following the Supreme Court decision in Shelby County, Ala. v. Holder, states beholden to the preclearance requirement were released, subject to an amendment to the coverage formula in § 4(b) of the Voting Rights Act of 1965. While you understand that Texas now has equal ability to alter its election procedures as states never covered by § 4(b), you desire to do so in a way that would not again bring the Texas legislature s exercise of authority under the scrutiny of Congress or the Constitution. • 21. Nursing Conflict In Nursing Introduction No matter where we find ourselves in life, there will always be some conflict(s) that we will need to face. Some may be simple issues of miscommunications or more complex, involving several factors, considerations, and implications that must be accounted for when solving the conflicts at hand. Settings such as nursing homes, clinics, and hospitals are especially susceptible to high numbers of conflicts of various natures due to the numerous parties involved in each environment. Nurses, face an increased risk of getting into conflicts due to the multiple roles they could hold, such as manager, caregiver, and instructor. According to Dr. Higazee, These roles lead to various types of interactions among nurses and other healthcare team members, which significantly increase the probability for conflict to arise in hospital settings among nurses (Higazee, 2015). Therefore, conflicts are not something that can be eliminated from the lives of nurses; however, nurses can be given the skills and techniques to manage the conflicts that do arise. Although the word conflict has a negative connotation attached to it, there is a positive perspective that can be viewed as Finkelman (2016) says, It can be used to improve if changes are made to address problems related to the conflict (p. 324). (British Broadcasting Corporation, 2011) It is unclear when the Shinto belief came about, but it most likely has its earliest roots in animism. These animistic beliefs were expressed in the form of spirits called kami. The kami are beings that are present in all aspects of nature and consist of major deities, ancestor spirits, and minor spirits who have significance in a specific community. This rhetorical skill is artfully used by Jonathan Swift in his pamphlet A Modest Proposal. The main argument for this mordantly ironic essay is to capture the attention of a disconnected and indifferent audience. Swift makes his point by stringing together a dreadfully twisted set of morally untenable positions in order to cast blame and aspersions on his intended audience. Swift cleverly condemns the British aristocracy for their mistreatment of the Irish people while also criticizing the Irish people for allowing this exploitation. The Irish have done nothing to halt the terrorizing nature of their domineering counterparts. Swift uses this proposal to the wretched Irish situation (Lockwood). By rigorously underplaying the aspect of fantasy in his proposal, Swift suggests the Irish have arrived at a condition in which such a plan may be seriously considered (Lockwood). Booth describes that every detail of Swift s proposal supports the inference that the woes of Ireland make, indeed, a melancholy Object. Wilfred Owen s Dulce Et Decorum Est The Horrors of War: An Explication of Wilfred Owen s Dulce et Decorum Est Dulce et Decorum est Pro patria mori; it is sweet and honorable to die for one s country. Wilfred Owen is just one of many to be told this lie. Owen himself had seen the horrors of war during his time serving in World War I and explains to the readers just how horrid it truly is in his poem Dulce et Decorum Est. Owen says, knock kneed, coughing like hags, we cursed through sludge (line 2). Owen uses a simile here to show that they were having violent coughing fits due to the toxic materials. This goes along with what he mentions as sludge, which is all the vile toxins around them tearing the soldiers lungs apart.
