International Trade Agreements And How Governmental...
This paper will discuss the benefits United States (U.S) had by engaging in international trade
agreements and how governmental influences benefitted trade. To regulate international trade between
nations, international trade agreements exist. These agreements involve regulating imports, exports
and international trade of some specialty goods. The United States have been involved in many
international trade agreements including free trade agreements. Free trade Agreements (FTA) helps the
United States to open up foreign markets for domestic firms. The agreements help to reduce barrier on
exports, ease trading across the border, improve economic growth, increase productivity, increase
employment opportunities, and boost agriculture exports. There are critical functions associated with
multilateral trading systems like World Trade Organization (WTO)/General Agreement on Tariffs and
Trade (GATT). Some of those critical functions are resolving disputes efficiently, create a better
trading environment, and preserve peace among countries. The initial sections of this paper will
discuss the benefits of international trade agreements for exports, imports, jobs, agriculture, and
economy.
Another topic that is discussed in this paper is governmental influences on trade and internal policies.
Governmental influences helped United States to reap benefits, from an economic and non economic
standpoint. There are political, economic and cultural reasons as well for the Government

Violence In The Road
violence. The road in which The Man and The Boy travel on is chock full of danger, so one could not
expect to survive without seeing or performing any acts of violence, for example as mentioned before
there is danger almost everywhere, including in the cannibals that The Man and The Boy are trying to
hide from. However, perhaps the violence that we see in The Road is more justifiable than the
violence and warfare that occurs in A Farewell to Arms as in this novel people have to fight and kill in
order to survive in the world they live in, instead of just killing in aid of the war. The theme of
violence in The Road is apparent when The Man is searching a trailer for supplies, and McCarthy
writes: He wafted away the smoke and looked down into the trailer. The small fire burning in the floor
seemed a long way down. He shielded the glare of it with his hand and when he did he could see
almost to the rear of the box. Human bodies. Sprawled in every attitude. Dried and shrunken in their
rotted clothes. The small wad of burning paper drew down to a wisp of flame and then died out
leaving a faint pattern for just a moment in the incandescence like the shape of a flower, a molten rose.
Then all was dark again ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Although there is some use of more descriptive and decorative language here, the iceberg theory is
still apparent, particularly when he writes Human bodies. Sprawled in every attitude. Dried and
shrunken in their rotted clothes . These few sentences convey enough in their direct, plain language
that we do not really need the descriptive use of language to get a picture of the grotesque state that
the bodies in the trailer are in. McCarthy s use of brutal imagery here along with his use of the theory
of omission clearly illustrates the theme of violence to the reader and gives them a deeper
understanding of the whole

Categorical Proposition, Categorical, And Categorical...
Categorical Proposition
A categorical proposition, or categorical statement, is a proposition that declares or denies that all or
particular of the members of one type (the subject term) are comprised in another (the establish term).
The study of opinions consuming categorical statements (i.e., syllogisms) forms a significant branch
of deductive reasoning that initiated with the Ancient Greeks. The Ancient Greeks such as Aristotle
recognized four primary distinct kinds of Categorical Proposition and provided them standard forms
(now regularly termed A, E, I, and O), formerly deduced mathematically by John Venn and George
Boole in the nineteenth era.
What do affirmative propositions have in common?
Affirmative propositions say All S is P. It is general because it talks about each associate of S. It is
affirmative because it says that each member of S is involved in P. A true sample of a universal
affirmative proposition is Entirely dogs are animals. We curtail this proposition and cry it the A
proposition (Agresti, 2012).
All ministers are fibbers.
All teenagers are worldly.
All guys have what it takes to end up a productive sales representative
All mutts go to paradise.
The widespread affirmative as indicated by Aristotle is not two way. Reflect, for the specimen, case 1
overhead. It doesn t imply that altogether fibbers are ministers. In case 2, we are not expressing that
every single common thing is teenagers. (This inverse of the one of a kind

Sexual Deprivation Increases Ethanol Intake in Drosophila
G. Shohat Ophir, K. R. Kaun, R. Azanchi, U. Heberlein
There is scientific consensus today that addiction is a chronic disease that changes both brain structure
and function, as abnormal functioning of the brain s reward system (the nucleus accumbens) has been
associated with addictive behavior, originating either from a psychoactive drug, a monetary reward, a
sexual encounter, or a satisfying meal. Drosophila melanogaster, a fruit fly was used in these
experiments to further explain attraction for alcohol containing foods, and the effect of social
experiences on behavior.
The researchers used two different sexual experiences to generate two cohorts of male flies. The first
cohort, rejected isolated, was subjected to courtship conditioning; they experienced 1 hour sessions of
sexual rejection by mated females, three times a day, for 4 days. Such conditioning suppresses future
male courtship behavior, even toward receptive virgin females. The second cohort of mated grouped
flies experienced 6 hour sessions of mating with multiple receptive virgin females at a ratio of 1:5 for
4 days. Flies from each cohort were then tested in a two choice preference assay, in which they
deliberately choose to consume food with or without 15% ethanol supplementation.
There was a significant difference between the 2 cohorts of drosophila in different respects such as
exposure to the social experience

New Baby Research Paper
I was pretty intimidated by the entire baby shower registration process as a mother to be. Fortunately, I
had a good friend (and new mom) to help me. I would never have thought to add many of the items
she recommended. In the months to follow I was supremely thankful for most of them.
I collected tons of great tips and product recommendations from other moms during my pregnancy.
Unfortunately, my pregnant brain forgot most of them almost immediately. I had several epiphanies
throughout the first year of my son s life. Sometimes I recalled a recommendation I had forgotten,
other ideas I discovered on my very own. I can t count how many times I said to myself, this would be

when removing a standard pull over the head type after a blowout.
Puppy pads
Those cute, super soft changing pads are washable, but when runny newborn sludge leaks out of all
fifteen diapers you change every day, that s a lot of washing. My friend recommended spreading out
one of these on top and it was an awesome tip. They re thin but cover a lot of area and actually absorb

The Land of New Zealand has shaped its people, as the people have struggled to shape the land. The
nation s two main cultures Maori and Pakeha are as distinct as the forested mountains are from the
crystal clear lakes and roaring rivers, but they are also united and divided by the rugged land they have
conquered and tamed.
In all the cultures of the Pacific region, that of the Maori stands out in its rich stock of plays, dances in
highly refined and complex arts. Historically, art has spread throughout the whole Maori way of life,
and in this century there has been a conscious effort to preserve or revive the traditional skills of
weaving and fibre arts, painting, latticework, carving, tattoo, chant and oratory, as well as Maori
language and customs. The spiritual dimension of Maori art is still strongly felt: the taonga, or art

Failure of Continental Illinois Bank

Continental Illinois Bank Failure
The failure of Continental Illinois National Bank and Trust Company (CINB)
One of the most famous features on the landscape of the banking crisis in 1980s was the crisis
involving the Continental Illinois National Bank and Trust Company in May 1984, which still is one
of the largest bank failures in U.S. banking history. The collapse of CINB was a significant event in
banking history that had a moral for both bank risk managers and regulators. It showed how quickly
the exposure of credit problems at a well regarded bank could turn into a liquidity problem that danger
not only the survival of the bank but also the financial system in the US.

Continental s strategy to greatly rely on such less stable sources of funds for its rapid growth was
ordered by the restraining unit bank law of Illinois. Under the McFadden Act ( Federal legislation that
gave individual states the authority to govern bank branches located within the state. )
(investopedia.com,2008) national banks could not branch outside of their home states and within
states they had to obey the rules of the state branching laws. Illinois law also banned the creation of
multi bank holding companies within the state, thereby restricting all banks within the state to a single
retail office. In name, Continental was a national bank; in fact, it was located in downtown Chicago
and could collect retail deposits only at that location. Therefore, Continental was confined by a very
narrow consumer deposit base and had to fund its ambitious growth plan from less reliable large
institutional or overseas depositors. Uninsured large institutional depositors will continue to provide
funds to a bank as long as they have confidence in the safety and soundness of the institution. In
Continental s case, this confidence was broken in 1982 when market participants began to question the
financial health of the bank. The first problem that came to Continental happened when it was
recognized as the purchaser of $1 billion energy participation loans from the failed Penn

Barbie Doll Is Bad For Girls
The infamous Barbie doll is still considered to be the most popular toy for girls (and not only for
them). However, the image that the doll itself spreads, is harmful for the girls worldwide, considering
the false body expectations it represents and the portrait of the girls as being unintelligent. Both of the
cases I will explain below. First of all, Barbie doll represent an unrealistic body type and a rigid
beauty ideal that studies show can be harmful to girls. This is dangerous, when considered that from
the young age girls play with the doll and want to be like Barbie. It is not possible to look like the doll
and be healthy at the same time. Also, the looks which Barbie represent are suggestive. Blond hair,
pretty face and unreal body curves may suggest young girls that this is what girls are supposed to look
like. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Fraser Coast
Fraser Coast consists of four main ecosystems which are rocky shores, sand dunes, rainforests and
mangroves. All of these ecosystems are important to the survival of several plants and animals. Each
plant and animal work together to keep the ecosystem alive and healthy.
Rocky Shores are found where the sea meets the land which supports a diverse mix of plants and
animals that have adapted to survive in the unique conditions of constant wave action as well as the
fall of tides (Ehp.qld. 2016). Most of the ecosystems flora and fauna live in the intertidal zone,

An End Of History By Mario Savio
I used to believe that we could be anything that we wanted to be, as long as we wanted it enough; that
was around age 13. I still believe that we can be anything we want to be, with a few changes to that
belief: it has to fit in to the status quo, be accepted by those around you, and provide you with enough
money to live in what society perceives as a comfortable and successful lifestyle. Although a lot has
changed since American political activist Mario Savio wrote the article An End to History in 1964, a
great deal of change is required before students can become part of the system without having to
disregard their creativity and passion. In his article, Savio explains that his vision of the proper role of
the university or any such institution for that matter is one where the institution not only allows its
students to speak freely about the causes that matter to them, namely political matters, but also allows
students to mould themselves into the people they want to be, rather than the institution moulding
them into the people society wants them to be. Savio explains that he believed the greatest problem in
the United States during the 1960s (and arguably twenty first century) to be the depersonalized,
unresponsive bureaucracy, that bleeds into the very institutions used to shape the future leaders of the
country. He continues by stating that because of the bureaucracy which controlled these post
secondary institutions, students were forced to give up the

How Does William Goldman Use Situational Irony In The...
Satire is the use of humor, exaggeration, or ridicule to expose and criticize a person s someone s
shortcomings and vices. In William Goldman s The Princess Bride, satire is evident through his use of
irony and ridicule, which he uses to mock different aspects of traditional fairy tales. Archetypes are
not employed, highlighting the absurdness of key components of these stories. Situational irony is also
used to satericalize the flaws of several characters, mocking their flaws, and making them laughable.
Therefore, William Goldman s The Princess Bride is a satirical story that mocks fairy tale archetypes
and character flaws through the use of ridicule. In this story, Goldman satericalizes traditional
character models by straying from them, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example, Vizzini boasts an intellectual mind that he believes is his strongest attribute. In his battle
of wits against Westley, his dizzying intellect which was supposed to help him reason out the poison,
fails to help him escape his fate (CITE!). In this example, the author mocks Vizzini s flaws,
satericalizing his conceitedness for it was because of his intelligence that he was unable to see the trap
Westley laid out. This adds to satirical theme of The Princess Bride as Goldman ridicules Vizzini s self
conceited nature. In addition, Goldman also ridicules seemingly good and wanted characteristics by
using irony to highlight how they aren t always good This is exemplified when Buttercup asks her
intended husband to help improve her letter to her lover while bragging about how perfect Westley is
to him (CITE). Throughout this book, Buttercup is portrayed to be innocent; a characteristic that is
often desired in princess roles. However, Goldman s use of situational irony satericalises this
expectation by turning her innocence into stupidity, showing how oblivious she is, thus adding to the
satirical nature of The Princess

Original Sin In Joseph Boyden s Three-Day Road
Many philosophers debate about whether or not the first original sin has given imperfections to all of
us to this day; thus allowing a person to turn innately evil under certain circumstances. The novel by
Joseph Boyden, Three Day Road, hints at this great debate and the physiological traits of humans
under harsh events. However, what is the original sin and how does this connect to a novel? Original
sin leads back to the first two humans put on the newly created planet Earth. These people were
named Adam and Eve. God put them in a garden called Eden, and they had the right to eat anything in
their inhabitancy, with one minor restriction. Adam and Eve were assigned one tree that bared its fruit,
which they could not pleasure their hungry bellies from. Both of them were well aware of this rule set
out in front of them, except there became a test before Adam and Eve one day. Eve was all alone in the
garden of Eden when a snake appeared and started talking to her. This serpent convinced Eve to eat
the fruit from the forbidden tree, saying to her that she would gain god like powers. God did not make
talking snakes though, so it is easy to see that this was an ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

During the 1980s and 1990s the new HIV disease began to emerge in society and with it came harsh
stereotypes and discrimination against those who contracted it. Simultaneously, one of the most

Throughout his career Johnson gained three Most Valuable Player (MVP) awards and was admitted

announced his diagnosis of HIV and his retirement from the National Basketball Association (NBA).
Following this abrupt and unexpected event, Johnson became one of the leading figures in the fight

communities about AIDS. The charitable and influential work Johnson contributed to the research of
AIDS revealed him as not just an extraordinary basketball player but also as an extraordinary human

Professional Ethics In The Military
Professionals are not professionals simply because they say they are. Their clients, society as a whole,
have to accept their claims and trust the professions with jurisdiction over important areas of human
endeavor. Colonel Matthew Moten
To begin with, the profession of the Arms requires four key attributable codes of ethics; expertise,
trust, development, values and service. With these key professional ethics, a Soldier will be prepared
to discharge his duties through the use of the skills, trust, and character to the general public as a

Punishment In Prisons
After four weeks of learning about punishment and the penal system I feel like I have learnt a lot
about the system as a whole. As I previously mentioned before enrolling in this unit I was naïve about
the system, how it operated, the living conditions of the inmates and the social demographics that
contributed to the prison population. With all of my recent knowledge from the lectures and readings,
I was still surprised to find out how much it cost to maintain a person in prison. I was always aware
that a proportion of the taxpayers money was spent on prisons but I was unaware of how substantial
that amount was. In the 2013 2014 period, 2.6 billion dollars was spent on the prison system in
Australia, this roughly equates to $292 dollars per day per prisoner and these numbers are expected to
increase. I am currently working as a causal and make around $250 per week while the typical

Reflecting on these numbers it is hard for me to fathom how expensive it is to sustain a person in
prison. With the costs expected to increase, it is becoming more apparent that such high expenses are
putting financial pressures on the state government and are reducing the pool of funding and resources
that are needed for education and health.
After learning about the concept of less eligibility and the importance of treating inmates in
accordance with basic human rights, I do not think that the funding from these facilitates should be
reduced. However, I do agree with any scholars in this area who express the opinion that it would be
more cost effective for funding to be spent on the early detection of delinquent behaviour than on
prisons. If more funding was being spent on early prevention schemes it would be more beneficial to
the individual and community as a whole rather than spending that

Political Inequality In Political Participation
Throughout the world, citizens participate in their government to represent themselves as a country.
Systems of representation on equality in political participation. Participation, however, is not equally
distributed throughout each citizen therefore, creating inequality. The implications that inequalities in
participation have for representation, inclusiveness, and political efficiency. Representation is the
action of speaking or acting on someone s behalf. However, due to the nature of political participation,
many citizens are not able to represent themselves in government. A few reasons for lower
representation for certain people may be discrimination for race, gender, sex, political ideas, etc. A
popular case of lowering representation is gerrymandering, in which certain people manipulate the
boundaries of voters to favor one (political) party over the other. This in turn, makes the minority
votes become wasted, even with the smallest margin of victory. In the United States, this is a very
common practice, however in Britain, redistribution of parliamentary constituencies is carried out by a
nonpartisan Boundary Commission to ensure no one s votes are diminished in the process. There must
be more variety in political parties in the U.S. since there are large numbers of people s preferences
being ignored with only two major parties. Two party systems limit the options for potential voters as
well as forcing people to either give up on certain issues

Rhetorical Analysis Of Faith, Truth And Tolerance In America
During Senator Edward M. Kennedy s speech, Faith, Truth, and Tolerance in America, he attempts to
bring Americans together by helping them understand different viewpoints and recognize when to
input religion into debate. Kennedy concentrates on this topic because during that October of 1983,
tensions were rising in the country due to conflicting opinions on the nuclear freeze. Kennedy, a
Democrat, delivers this speech at Liberty Baptist University, a largely Republican college, so he
repeatedly demonstrates his ability to relate to the audience in an effort to fill the space between their
differing political parties and religions. Additionally, he makes references to ethos to prove his

sent to Mamie Till, he had been killed due to deliberate misconduct while serving in Italy: Mrs. Till

black student to make the school s A Honor Roll. Being a single mother, in order to provide for her

Objectives And Objectives Of Strategic Management
Strategic Management is a substantial wing of the management system of an organisation or company
whereby a set of managerial decision and action helps to determine the long run performance and
major goals of the organisation or company. Generally, top level management of an organisation is
responsible for the initiation and implementation of such decisions and actions based on the available
resources and welcoming environment. The strategies involve the formulation and setting of
directions, aims and objectives; improving organisational performance; collaborating and executing
changes; developing and training the employees etc. It also stresses on the monitoring and evaluation
of internal strengths and weaknesses and identifying external opportunities (Adair 2009).
On the other hand, leadership is a process whereby a person works through a chain of frequentative
action by forming a vision, crafting a set of goals and objectives, setting directions and selecting
employees, performing required tasks as long as needed until the goals and objectives are achieved. In
order to be a good leader, an individual needs to be diligent, vigilant and resilient in all aspects of
policy and strategy making for any specific situation arising with the organization (Atreya 2013).
According to Atreya (2013) Strategic management is about setting vision, mission, goals and
objectives for achieving excellence and the strategic leadership is to ensure that the results are being
achieved.

Exploring The Tax Treatment Of Deductions, Losses, Sales...
Investing in real estate has become increasingly popular over the last fifty years and has become a
common investment vehicle. Although the real estate market has plenty of opportunities for making
big gains, buying and owning real estate is a lot more complicated than investing in stocks and bonds.
It is pretty common for people using rental property to offset high expenses and provide some cash
flow. However, the tax effects on these transactions can be complex and not well understood. This
paper is focus on describing the tax treatment of deductions, losses, sales and exchange for real
property, especially a mixed use rental property, where a property is used as a personal residence as
well as for rental purpose.
1. Types of Residential Property for tax purpose
For tax purpose, there are three types residential property, which are personal use, the mixed use, and
rental use. The deductibility of the expenses and rental losses depend on the categorization of the real
property belong to. Therefore, it is important to understand the categorizations.
1) Personal
Obviously, if a real estate is used for personal purpose not for rental or business purposes, it is
personal use real estate. However, it is still personal use when a taxpayer rents out his or her personal
residence less than 15 days during a tax year. Under this situation, the taxpayer is not required to
report the rental income and may not deduct any rental expenses other than mortgage interest and

Pew Research Article Summary
Americans receive many messages about support for gay rights ranging from clergy to gay men;
however, some are ambivalent, or undecided on the issue because of the numerous messages that they
are given (Garner 2013: 243). Andrew Garner wanted to test if contact with gays and lesbians would
elevate or decline levels of ambivalence among American s opinions about gay rights (241). While
this research question could be discovered in the abstract, the author never states the research question
clearly. Garner does provide immense detail about previous studies; however, he lacks clear
justification for the study, and the support he provided had to be collectively assumed rather than
explained. Assumingly, he argues that by understanding how gay ... Show more content on

To test this hypothesis, he uses Pew Research Center for the People and the Press s 2004 Typology
Survey from December 2004 and the late March callback survey, inclusive of 1,090 participants. The
author provides a haughty analysis of the survey and how the data is measured. The callback
interviews asked respondents if they have a friend, colleague, or family member who is gay, while the
main survey asked two separate questions concerning how strongly respondents support same sex
marriage and acceptance of homosexuals as a way of life. Contact is measured as a dichotomous or
dummy variable indicating whether or not the respondent knew someone who is gay, (249). The
survey also asks questions about race, party identification, and religious affiliation (249 250). Garner
then describes how the variables are coded, are applied to the Harvey Multiplicative Heteroskedastic
Regression model, and the calculations required to discuss the variables

Essay On The Green Mile
The Green Mile is a movie that is based on a Stephen King novel that goes by the same name. The
story is one of a heart wrenching and deeply allegorical plot. It is told by the man Paul Edgecomb
(Tom Hanks), who, at the time of his recollection, is six decades removed from his position as head
guard on death row, or as the inmates call it, The Green Mile . Edgecomb tells of one inmate who was
brought into his custody that changed his life: John Coffey (the late Michael Clarke Duncan), who was
convicted of the sadistic rape and murder of two 9 year old sisters. However, contrary to his size and
the fearsome crimes for which he is serving time, Coffey seems to be a very kind and well mannered
man; acting more like an innocent child than a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I assured them that I would do the project, and that they could just copy down my work and make it
look as if it were their own; taking their burdens upon myself. Of course, they agreed to this plan of
action, as it required little work from them with a large pay off. During the week, I allotted a
substantial amount of time to work on this project, and when the due date arrived, it was finished. The
next time I saw them, I allowed my friends to see my work and copy it. They got to go to their party,
and they also got to turn in their work. Later in the school year, I began to notice that whenever some
work needed to be done, my friends looked to me to handle it so that they could reap the benefits
when it was done. I decided that what I had developed with my friends was a parasitic relationship:
they would just wait until all of the hard work necessary to achieve something was completed, and
then leap in to wade in the benefactors. I decided that what I was doing was not right for me, or them:
my work ethic was being exploited by people who I assumed were friends, and they were growing
unhealthily dependent on me as they were not able to develop certain life skills due to their lack of
participation in these academic endeavors. Consequently, I cut the cords on the relationship; I stopped
doing work for my friends and allowed them to do it on their own. Their grades dropped, but they also

the movie Lego Movie Lord Business displays the dictatorship leadership style because of when head

went to Kitty Hawk because it had strong winds. In 59 seconds it flew 852 feet in the air. To make the

The Importance Of Education In The United States
The United States stands only at the top of the education system with its ever growing tuition rates and
student debt that goes hand in hand. It s easy to want what other countries have, and the United States
won t know the waterfall effects that are caused by the implication of a free or low costing tuition plan
until it is enacted. The United States national leaders believe that cheaper alternatives to millions of
dollars in student debt is achievable. They have proposed several paths with no avail from congress to
ignite their plans.
The US has the capability to accomplish a different path in the education system, but as Michael

Common Themes In The Tragedy Of Julius Caesar
In one of William Shakespeare s many famous plays, The Tragedy of Julius Caesar, the title can be
deceiving. It is a popular opinion that Marcus Brutus was the real tragic hero of the story. Tragic
heroes and assassination are a common theme in Shakespeare s plays and, in 2016, it s a common
theme in the news. Berta Caceres of Honduras is an excellent example of both themes. Berta Caceres
was an environmental activist and co founder of the Council of Indigenous People of Honduras
(Copinh). She is well known for being against dams, illegal logging, and plantations. Berta was a high
profile, Indigenous, environmental and human rights activist which is very risky to be Honduras.

Completely loyal to his country he was tricked by Cassius and killed Caesar under the belief it was the
best thing to do for the citizens of Rome. Berta Caceres held many campaigns to help indigenous
people and the environment of Honduras but she never killed anyone in the name of her cause.
Instead, she was the one who was killed. In a sense her and Caesar are both the tragic heroes of their
stories but she s also similar to Brutus and how loyal she is to her beliefs. Another similarity between
Shakespeare s play and Berta s reality is that a group was involved in the murder. In Berta s case it is
unknown how many participated and if they were conspirators or hitmen. If they were conspirators
they were mostly likely from dam companies or plantations. A year earlier she d been awarded the
Goldman Environmental Prize for opposing one of the biggest hydropower projects in Central
America. If the assassinators were hitmen they were most likely either hired by the government or the
dam or plantation companies. Either way they certainly weren t her friends or colleagues because she
was loved throughout Honduras. Riots began after her death, much like the riot that grew after Antony

The Light Of My Creative Expedition Essay
As a young boy, I always was inspired about cartoons and interested in the life like movements and
charismatic appearances from various characters. Now as a student at Full Sail University, the
remarkable tolerant journey for animation has begun and it is a matter of exploiting perseverance to
pursue my overall achievements. In the light of my creative expedition, there is someone that
encourages me to strive to do my best in all that I encounter upon. Notably, that person is known as
the famous John Lasseter. As most animators may know, John Lasseter sprang upon several problems
throughout his animation career, but in response, he discovered excellent methods to overcome the
high tensions. Personally, I learned vital skills about his lifestyles and personal preferences when he
experienced his downfalls. Henceforth, the imaginative skills attained from John Lasseter will help
define and prepare my future pathway in animation.
First of all, my role model, John Lasseter, is a very fervent forbearing individual. Although he
encountered many predicaments throughout his career, he was still able to achieve his goals of
producing memorable animation movies for Pixar. In due time, Lasseter faced several misfortunes
such as being ignored from his coworkers and employers, losing his job, and working long hours to
produce a couple of films at once. After being hired into Walt Disney Animation Studios, he was very
exhilarated with the experience, but unfortunately there was something

The Most Dangerous Game
Richard Connell s The Most Dangerous Game is a very exciting story of a manhunt. This story made
me think about the morality of hunting: Humans are the cleverest creatures on earth, but does it give
them a license to kill the other animals and even human beings weaker than themselves? I give below
a short summary of the story to set the scene and then I will explore the ethics involved in hunting as a
sport. The Most Dangerous Game presents the story of a hunter, General
Zaroff, who finds hunting human beings as the most dangerous and fascinating sport. He likes hunting
humans because human beings, unlike the other animals, can reason better and so provide a richer
thrill for the hunter. He does not think hunting human ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Our knowledge of ecology also teaches us that by killing animals we may be tampering with the
delicate ecosystem and inviting our own destruction.
Human beings are probably the most intelligent creatures on earth. That is why they have a great
responsibility of keeping intact the life of the earth. Indiscriminate killing for sport is an uncivilized
and anti intellectual activity, because we should share this world with the other animals and live in
harmony with them.
Harmonious existence is the key to civilization and survival. It is our moral responsibility to tend life
on earth, not destroy it. Weak or strong every creature is beautiful and essential for the health of the
world, and it is our moral obligation to see that the other creatures share this world with us. Live and

The Impeachment Of A Foreclosure Sale
Harding further asks us to confirm that the trial judge complied with the requirements of Md. Rule 14
305(e) when she ratified the foreclosure sale. Furthermore, Harding petitions us to subpoena certain
phone calls made between her and M T Bank officials. Harding s requests, however, are not properly
presented before this appellate court. Moreover, Harding has failed to present an argument that would
overcome the presumption of legitimacy we afford to the ratification of a foreclosure sale. Maryland
Rule 14 305(e) provides:
[t]he court shall ratify the sale if (1) the time for filing exceptions pursuant to section (d) of this Rule
has expired and exceptions to the report either were not filed or were filed but overruled, and (2) the
court is satisfied that the sale was fairly and properly made. . . .
Md. Rule 14 305(e). There is a presumption that the sale was fairly made, and that the antecedent
proceedings, if regular on the face of the record, were adequate and proper, and the burden is upon one
attacking the sale to prove the contrary. Fagnani v. Fisher, 418 Md. 371, 384 (2011) (quoting Webster

Personal Development and Reflective Reasoning in Nursing...
Maybe reflective practices offer us a way of trying to make sense of the uncertainty in our workplaces
and the courage to work competently and ethically at the edge of order and chaos... (Ghaye, 2000, p.7)
In order to fully understand the personal development and reflective reasoning in relation to your
development in the Nursing field, one will have to define these two terminologies. Personal
development means to include activities that improve awareness, can develop potential that will
ultimately enhance the quality of life. Medical colleges advocate personal development plans as a
basis for continuing professional development. Whereas, reflective reasoning is where a nurse can

To be able to reflect one must step outside the experience in order to make the observance
comprehendible Gray (1998). To do this, one must have motivation. When speaking of motivation,
task variety and participation allows each member of the team to use different skills as well as rotating
the less desirable tasks giving a cohesive feeling to the team while motivating them. Bowen and
Lawler (1992), argue practices that empower such as providing organizational information to
employee, bureaucratic control reduction and increased self power all helps to increase employee
motivation. French and Raven (1959) add that motivation is a characteristic that makes one want to do
or carryout a task willingly without being directed.
Leadership is an important role in life and an even more important role in the success of a nurse. To be
a leader one must be creative. Creativity results from engaging in surroundings to seek new
possibilities. For the best outcome of reflection, and the use of creativity, one should be as impulsive
as possible in recording thoughts and feelings. Efficient clinical leaders are supposed to able to help
others to see and understand situations from various outlooks and effective clinical nurse leaders must

  • 3. International Trade Agreements And How Governmental... This paper will discuss the benefits United States (U.S) had by engaging in international trade agreements and how governmental influences benefitted trade. To regulate international trade between nations, international trade agreements exist. These agreements involve regulating imports, exports and international trade of some specialty goods. The United States have been involved in many international trade agreements including free trade agreements. Free trade Agreements (FTA) helps the United States to open up foreign markets for domestic firms. The agreements help to reduce barrier on exports, ease trading across the border, improve economic growth, increase productivity, increase employment opportunities, and boost agriculture exports. There are critical functions associated with multilateral trading systems like World Trade Organization (WTO)/General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT). Some of those critical functions are resolving disputes efficiently, create a better trading environment, and preserve peace among countries. The initial sections of this paper will discuss the benefits of international trade agreements for exports, imports, jobs, agriculture, and economy. Another topic that is discussed in this paper is governmental influences on trade and internal policies. Governmental influences helped United States to reap benefits, from an economic and non economic standpoint. There are political, economic and cultural reasons as well for the Government ... • 4. Violence In The Road violence. The road in which The Man and The Boy travel on is chock full of danger, so one could not expect to survive without seeing or performing any acts of violence, for example as mentioned before there is danger almost everywhere, including in the cannibals that The Man and The Boy are trying to hide from. However, perhaps the violence that we see in The Road is more justifiable than the violence and warfare that occurs in A Farewell to Arms as in this novel people have to fight and kill in order to survive in the world they live in, instead of just killing in aid of the war. The theme of violence in The Road is apparent when The Man is searching a trailer for supplies, and McCarthy writes: He wafted away the smoke and looked down into the trailer. The small fire burning in the floor seemed a long way down. He shielded the glare of it with his hand and when he did he could see almost to the rear of the box. Human bodies. Sprawled in every attitude. Dried and shrunken in their rotted clothes. The small wad of burning paper drew down to a wisp of flame and then died out leaving a faint pattern for just a moment in the incandescence like the shape of a flower, a molten rose. Then all was dark again ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Although there is some use of more descriptive and decorative language here, the iceberg theory is still apparent, particularly when he writes Human bodies. Sprawled in every attitude. Dried and shrunken in their rotted clothes . These few sentences convey enough in their direct, plain language that we do not really need the descriptive use of language to get a picture of the grotesque state that the bodies in the trailer are in. McCarthy s use of brutal imagery here along with his use of the theory of omission clearly illustrates the theme of violence to the reader and gives them a deeper understanding of the whole ... • 5. Categorical Proposition, Categorical, And Categorical... Categorical Proposition A categorical proposition, or categorical statement, is a proposition that declares or denies that all or particular of the members of one type (the subject term) are comprised in another (the establish term). The study of opinions consuming categorical statements (i.e., syllogisms) forms a significant branch of deductive reasoning that initiated with the Ancient Greeks. The Ancient Greeks such as Aristotle recognized four primary distinct kinds of Categorical Proposition and provided them standard forms (now regularly termed A, E, I, and O), formerly deduced mathematically by John Venn and George Boole in the nineteenth era. What do affirmative propositions have in common? Affirmative propositions say All S is P. It is general because it talks about each associate of S. It is affirmative because it says that each member of S is involved in P. A true sample of a universal affirmative proposition is Entirely dogs are animals. We curtail this proposition and cry it the A proposition (Agresti, 2012). All ministers are fibbers. All teenagers are worldly. All guys have what it takes to end up a productive sales representative All mutts go to paradise. The widespread affirmative as indicated by Aristotle is not two way. Reflect, for the specimen, case 1 overhead. It doesn t imply that altogether fibbers are ministers. In case 2, we are not expressing that every single common thing is teenagers. • 6. Sexual Deprivation Increases Ethanol Intake Yolande Megni APPL 601 Homework 2 Sexual Deprivation Increases Ethanol Intake in Drosophila G. Shohat Ophir, K. R. Kaun, R. Azanchi, U. Heberlein There is scientific consensus today that addiction is a chronic disease that changes both brain structure and function, as abnormal functioning of the brain s reward system (the nucleus accumbens) has been associated with addictive behavior, originating either from a psychoactive drug, a monetary reward, a sexual encounter, or a satisfying meal. Drosophila melanogaster, a fruit fly was used in these experiments to further explain attraction for alcohol containing foods, and the effect of social experiences on behavior. The researchers used two different sexual experiences to generate two cohorts of male flies. The first cohort, rejected isolated, was subjected to courtship conditioning; they experienced 1 hour sessions of sexual rejection by mated females, three times a day, for 4 days. Such conditioning suppresses future male courtship behavior, even toward receptive virgin females. The second cohort of mated grouped flies experienced 6 hour sessions of mating with multiple receptive virgin females at a ratio of 1:5 for 4 days. Flies from each cohort were then tested in a two choice preference assay, in which they deliberately choose to consume food with or without 15% ethanol supplementation. There was a significant difference between the 2 cohorts of drosophila in different respects such as exposure to the social experience ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

I would never have thought to add many of the items she recommended. In the months to follow I was supremely thankful for most of them. I collected tons of great tips and product recommendations from other moms during my pregnancy. Unfortunately, my pregnant brain forgot most of them almost immediately. I had several epiphanies throughout the first year of my son s life. Sometimes I recalled a recommendation I had forgotten, other ideas I discovered on my very own. This was a big thing I faced in my junior year. One day my lab partner didn t show up for three days. When she finally showed up, I asked her why she decided to skip school. The nation s two main cultures Maori and Pakeha are as distinct as the forested mountains are from the crystal clear lakes and roaring rivers, but they are also united and divided by the rugged land they have conquered and tamed. In all the cultures of the Pacific region, that of the Maori stands out in its rich stock of plays, dances in highly refined and complex arts. Historically, art has spread throughout the whole Maori way of life, and in this century there has been a conscious effort to preserve or revive the traditional skills of weaving and fibre arts, painting, latticework, carving, tattoo, chant and oratory, as well as Maori language and customs. • 11. Failure of Continental Illinois Bank International Business School Continental Illinois Bank Failure The failure of Continental Illinois National Bank and Trust Company (CINB) One of the most famous features on the landscape of the banking crisis in 1980s was the crisis involving the Continental Illinois National Bank and Trust Company in May 1984, which still is one of the largest bank failures in U.S. banking history. The collapse of CINB was a significant event in banking history that had a moral for both bank risk managers and regulators. It showed how quickly the exposure of credit problems at a well regarded bank could turn into a liquidity problem that danger not only the survival of the bank but also the financial system in the US. Economic and financial ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Continental s strategy to greatly rely on such less stable sources of funds for its rapid growth was ordered by the restraining unit bank law of Illinois. Under the McFadden Act ( Federal legislation that gave individual states the authority to govern bank branches located within the state. ) (investopedia.com,2008) national banks could not branch outside of their home states and within states they had to obey the rules of the state branching laws. Illinois law also banned the creation of multi bank holding companies within the state, thereby restricting all banks within the state to a single retail office. In name, Continental was a national bank; in fact, it was located in downtown Chicago and could collect retail deposits only at that location. Therefore, Continental was confined by a very narrow consumer deposit base and had to fund its ambitious growth plan from less reliable large institutional or overseas depositors. Uninsured large institutional depositors will continue to provide funds to a bank as long as they have confidence in the safety and soundness of the institution. In Continental s case, this confidence was broken in 1982 when market participants began to question the financial health of the bank. The first problem that came to Continental happened when it was recognized as the purchaser of $1 billion energy participation loans from the failed Penn ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 12. Barbie Doll Is Bad For Girls The infamous Barbie doll is still considered to be the most popular toy for girls (and not only for them). However, the image that the doll itself spreads, is harmful for the girls worldwide, considering the false body expectations it represents and the portrait of the girls as being unintelligent. Both of the cases I will explain below. First of all, Barbie doll represent an unrealistic body type and a rigid beauty ideal that studies show can be harmful to girls. This is dangerous, when considered that from the young age girls play with the doll and want to be like Barbie. It is not possible to look like the doll and be healthy at the same time. Also, the looks which Barbie represent are suggestive. Blond hair, pretty face and unreal body curves may suggest young girls that this is what girls are supposed to look like. ... All of these ecosystems are important to the survival of several plants and animals. Each plant and animal work together to keep the ecosystem alive and healthy. Rocky Shores are found where the sea meets the land which supports a diverse mix of plants and animals that have adapted to survive in the unique conditions of constant wave action as well as the fall of tides (Ehp.qld. 2016). • 14. An End Of History By Mario Savio I used to believe that we could be anything that we wanted to be, as long as we wanted it enough; that was around age 13. I still believe that we can be anything we want to be, with a few changes to that belief: it has to fit in to the status quo, be accepted by those around you, and provide you with enough money to live in what society perceives as a comfortable and successful lifestyle. Although a lot has changed since American political activist Mario Savio wrote the article An End to History in 1964, a great deal of change is required before students can become part of the system without having to disregard their creativity and passion. In his article, Savio explains that his vision of the proper role of the university or any such institution for that matter is one where the institution not only allows its students to speak freely about the causes that matter to them, namely political matters, but also allows students to mould themselves into the people they want to be, rather than the institution moulding them into the people society wants them to be. Savio explains that he believed the greatest problem in the United States during the 1960s (and arguably twenty first century) to be the depersonalized, unresponsive bureaucracy, that bleeds into the very institutions used to shape the future leaders of the country. He continues by stating that because of the bureaucracy which controlled these post secondary institutions, students were forced to give up the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This adds to satirical theme of The Princess Bride as Goldman ridicules Vizzini s self conceited nature. In addition, Goldman also ridicules seemingly good and wanted characteristics by using irony to highlight how they aren t always good This is exemplified when Buttercup asks her intended husband to help improve her letter to her lover while bragging about how perfect Westley is to him (CITE). Original Sin In Joseph Boyden s Three-Day Road Many philosophers debate about whether or not the first original sin has given imperfections to all of us to this day; thus allowing a person to turn innately evil under certain circumstances. The novel by Joseph Boyden, Three Day Road, hints at this great debate and the physiological traits of humans under harsh events. However, what is the original sin and how does this connect to a novel? Original sin leads back to the first two humans put on the newly created planet Earth. These people were named Adam and Eve. God put them in a garden called Eden, and they had the right to eat anything in their inhabitancy, with one minor restriction. Adam and Eve were assigned one tree that bared its fruit, which they could not pleasure their hungry bellies from. Both of them were well aware of this rule set out in front of them, except there became a test before Adam and Eve one day. Eve was all alone in the garden of Eden when a snake appeared and started talking to her. As I previously mentioned before enrolling in this unit I was naïve about the system, how it operated, the living conditions of the inmates and the social demographics that contributed to the prison population. With all of my recent knowledge from the lectures and readings, I was still surprised to find out how much it cost to maintain a person in prison. I was always aware that a proportion of the taxpayers money was spent on prisons but I was unaware of how substantial that amount was. In the 2013 2014 period, 2.6 billion dollars was spent on the prison system in Australia, this roughly equates to $292 dollars per day per prisoner and these numbers are expected to increase. After learning about the concept of less eligibility and the importance of treating inmates in accordance with basic human rights, I do not think that the funding from these facilitates should be reduced. However, I do agree with any scholars in this area who express the opinion that it would be more cost effective for funding to be spent on the early detection of delinquent behaviour than on prisons. Systems of representation on equality in political participation. Participation, however, is not equally distributed throughout each citizen therefore, creating inequality. The implications that inequalities in participation have for representation, inclusiveness, and political efficiency. Representation is the action of speaking or acting on someone s behalf. However, due to the nature of political participation, many citizens are not able to represent themselves in government. A few reasons for lower representation for certain people may be discrimination for race, gender, sex, political ideas, etc. A popular case of lowering representation is gerrymandering, in which certain people manipulate the boundaries of voters to favor one (political) party over the other. This in turn, makes the minority votes become wasted, even with the smallest margin of victory. In the United States, this is a very common practice, however in Britain, redistribution of parliamentary constituencies is carried out by a nonpartisan Boundary Commission to ensure no one s votes are diminished in the process.
