Ebay Is An American Transnational Corporation
EBay is an American transnational corporation that utilizes an online interface to transmit its
business globally. To become a transnational corporation your business must facilitate its operations
in more than one country. EBay hosts an online marketplace where consumers and merchants can
trade new and used goods for discounted prices. EBayhas made it easier to shop from other
countries through the process of deterritorialization. The website is also a good example of
globalizing culture; which will be discussed later in the paper. EBay has not only transformed the
online marketplace, but has been especially successful doing so. In an interview conducted with
Entrepreneur.com, a former Fortune 500 company IT consultant stated that, EBay became a $10
billion company selling something used cheaper than new, (Girard, 2011.) This emphasizes how
successful this business has become and what the future may hold for EBay as well as companies
alike.

Enlighment DBQ
Enlightenment DBQ
Historical Context
The discoveries made in science during the 1500s and 1600s led European thinkers to raise
questions about the conditions of human life itself. Many of the thinkers of the European
Enlightenment moved away from medieval thinking toward more modern thoughts regarding
government and the role of women in society.

A Treatise on Toleration, Voltaire
It does not require great art, or magnificently trained eloquence, to prove that Christians should
tolerate each other. I, however, am going further: I say that we should regard all men as our
brothers. What? The Turk my brother? The Chinaman my brother? The Jew? The Siam? Yes,
without doubt; are we not all children of the same father and creatures of the same God?
4.What is Voltaire advocating in A Treatise on Toleration? How is this a departure from previous
attitudes throughout the world? Do you think we as a world are any closer to his vision today
than we were 500 years ago?

My Favorite Grandmother
My grandma was always a hard working person. To see her eyes glisten in the sun as her tears
streamed own her face. It touched me. Not only because she is my favorite grandma, but I have
never seen her cry before. She always was that person to be able to stand up when no one else
would, be kind when everyone else was mean, and stay dedicated and brave when all thought was
lost. Her name was Shannon. Shannon Rhoda. Her entire life has been hard work. As I saw her
just let loose and cry I knew how much her mothermeant to her. For if I ever lost my mother i

Many people debate whether naps are beneficial. Evidence proves that naps have many
advantages. Naps can be very valuable in many ways as they can help boost your alertness and
performance. Just taking short naps can help your health, provide more energy for your body, and
increase your knowledge and memory.
To begin with, naps will improve one s health. In a 2011 study, researchers at
Allegheny College found that napping was a factor in lowering blood pressure after mental stress.
Because of this napping will be helpful for those who may have health issues. When the body gets

that need to change so he offered a prize to the architect who could come up with a design to

Essay on Economic Repercussions of Tourism in the Caribbean
Economic Repercussions of Tourism in the Caribbean
The tourism industry is one of the largest contributors to the world
GDP. It employs millions worldwide and provides a livelihood for nations and individuals alike.
Focussing on a more specific economy the economy of the Caribbean a similar picture emerges.
Much of the population has found employment in industries directly related to tourism and many
more have done so in industries indirectly related to tourism. Albeit, there lurks a reality that defies
this rosy illusion.
The adverse effects of tourism on the economy are many and significant. In the long run, few clear
advantages are visible. For countries of the Caribbean, that support their total national revenue ...

Since the islands rely so heavily upon the flow of capital from the tourist sector, they can easily be
devastated financially if even the slightest natural phenomena occur. Volcanoes and hurricanes two
common and well known natural disasters are quite frequent in the Caribbean, owing to the
physical geography of the regions. Such events can easily deter potential tourists and sent the
economy into a downward spiraling recession, amplifying the challenge of recovery.
The increased demand for goods that ensues subsequent to the establishment of tourism as the
primary contributor to national income leads to an unprecedented demand for products and
services. And as according to the dictates of the laws of supply and demand, as inflation beings to
skyrocket, the purchasing power parity of individuals plummets. This imbalance between an
extremely high aggregate demand and a relatively inelastic aggregate supply (in part due to the
short time frame) places locals in a difficult position.
High costs of living necessitate drastic changes in traditional lifestyles and often lead to poverty;
these events in turn result in even greater social and economic chaos.
Unlike the development of high tech industries by public and private sector contributions, heavy
investment in tourism yields few other advantages, especially in digital communications networks.

Jesus Is The Mediator Between Man And God
The word Christian means followers of Christ. Since Jesus is the one man that reconnected us
back to God, he was the one man able to show us the way to stay connected with the creator.
Jesus has become the mediator between man and God. Also, He is not just a man. He is the only
son of God, the very first creation of the Almighty. The bible says that in Him and for Him all
things were created. He is the only one qualified to help us regain our rights to be sons and
daughters of God.
It is also in the name of Jesus that we can find and claim all that we have lost in the garden, where
Adam and Eve have sinned. Jesus had come not only to die, but also to show us how to live with
the fact that we are still vulnerable to sins, and the tricks ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Anyone compelled by the spirit of God to be reinstated back in His Devine family only needs to
confess publicly that Jesus is Lord, and believe in his heart that he was resurrected by God from
the dead. You have to have once been indulged in the story of Jesus and believe it. And, you have
to once make a public confession that Jesus is Lord. That will qualify you as being saved from
the lost world and be reinstated in the family of God. However, in order to be a true disciple of
Christ and honestly carry the title of being a true Christian, that takes a process. One is saved
instantly. However, a person is a Christian by virtue of a firm and honest conviction that this
person has made to follow the instructions or commandments of God in a new life that s been
made possible by Jesus. To be a Christian is a complete rebirth. You know nothing on the same
basis that you have before, and you have come to practice all in an entire new way. Christianity
affects every aspect of the life of the individual who chose to join into this new society of saints. It
is the world of the followers of Christ. It is the world of discipleship for the kingdom of God. It is

Power Of Sneeze
Achoo!... Achoo!... Achoo! A sneeze has the power to disrupt a moment with a simple, Achoo!

others. The attention that a sneeze receives, leaves all the poor coughs and hiccups alone in the
corner, waiting for a blessing. Even with the parody version of Bless You, Cough you, sneezes
continue to hog the stage. However, had Pope Gregory I never encourage the saying, had it die

people s soul vulnerable to the devil never existed, it would have not been so over popularized.

Conservative Viewpoints
Conservatives and liberals have completely different views of the purpose of government. Like
two ends of a stick, their views are against one another although they should be the same.
However, there is always a moderate position that can satisfy both extreme ends. As our title
states, we should be united. My personal beliefs and ideals would be assisting me when finding
the moderate views, for I m neither a conservative nor a liberal; I believe in pleasing both ends,
which, despite the stories, can be possible.
The first portion of the preamble states that the purpose of government is to establish justice. While
conservatives believe that justice only means punishing the criminal (Hardisty), liberals believe that
justice means that society ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To conservatives, it would mean that the government would allow free use of weapons in order
for the individual to protect him/herself. To liberals, it would mean that the government is there to
protect the citizens, to provide protection for the individuals. Conservatives don t trust the police,
as the police force is a part of the government. Similar to how liberals don t trust anyone with a
weapon, seeing many homicide stories have made the headlines. As a moderate, I ve done
researches on how other countries control their government and I found one weapon control from
Japan to be very suitable for our own use in the United States. The idea benefits both sides of the
party; the common individuals are allowed to have weapons for their own protection but only
when they have taken classes and pass a certain test of mental and physical health to prove their
fitness. A background check is also permitted to prevent any member of criminal or extremist
groups to have such weapons. Then a file is kept along with all gun owners in that area. Every
few years, the individual could take their weapon to the police for inspection and any broken
parts. Every few years, the individual would also retake the fitness tests to ensure they are still
very able to keep the firearm. This includes to all police members as well. That would be gun
control, it s not taking away a person s right to bear

The leader needs to instill urgency into the workers and volunteers of the ARC. Taking an
organization that s on its knees requires great cooperation, initiative, and willingness to make
sacrifices from many people (Kotter, 2011). Based on the case study, the ARC lacks all these
characteristics for change to occur. It needs to look how to improve its response times, how to
become more efficient in collecting denotations and how to prioritize and quickly distribute the
donations it receives in a fair and efficient manner. It needs to hold its leaders to a higher standard
that will instill a culture of high moral standard in its employees and volunteers. Once the nation
sees a change in the behavior of the ARC they will be more willing to give donations and their
time to support disaster relief efforts. The Role Stakeholder Orientation Played in the Scenario It is
vital that every organization is able to accurately identify their stakeholders, whether it is a for
profit or a non profit organization. One of the most important reasons for identifying and
understanding stakeholders is that it allows the organization to recruit them as part of their efforts
and learn firsthand on their needs and requirements (Rabinowitz, 2014). We live in an uncertain

Gary Shteyngart s Super Sad True Love Story
A Super Sad Sorry Awful Novel Gary Shteyngart s novel, Super Sad True Love Story was a New

novel has been critically acclaimed and given more good reviews than it truthfully deserves. When
reading a novel one expects the writingto pull you in and captivate you with each turn of the page.
However, this is not one of those novels. Motivation for reading this novel began to slip soon
into the first chapter and my class grade is the only reason I was able to complete the reading.
The novel is meant to be written in satire but throughout the entire book, I only found a select
few lines witty or amusing. There are a few appealing things worth mentioning among the
atrocity that lies between the covers of this novel. Each chapter is written in either a diary entry
or messages and chats. This technique is called epistolary which allows for an interesting look at
each of the main character s voices. Leonard, or Lenny, Abramov is the more expressive of the
two as he often becomes long winded because of his detailed descriptions of what he finds
beautiful. Eunice is on the other side of the spectrum as she is brief and concise. The interesting

Describe Features Of Inclusive Teaching And Learning...
(1.1) Describe features of inclusive teaching and learning? An inclusive environment is an
environment where everyone has an opportunity to fully participate. In education, this means
everyone has the same opportunity, there should be no boundaries such as ethnicity, gender or
disability. All students should feel valued, be able to mix and participate with all members of the
group be in a safe and positive environment. Gravells (2014) states: You are not teaching your
subject to a group of learners who are all the same, but to a group of individuals with different
experiences, abilities and needs, which should be recognised and respected . I like to make all of
my students feel important, speaking to them directly, using eye contact, using their name, asking
them direct questions. Initially I carry out an assessment to test their prior knowledge, their
preferred learning styles and to assess if any additional support is required. I can then adjust the
teaching level and pitch it correctly to each individual. (1.2) Compare the strengths and limitations
of teaching and learning approaches used in own area of specialism in relation to meeting
individual learner needs? According to Fleming (2001): People can be grouped by different

Animals Are Dogs And Cats
Most people are families with domesticated animals as pets. The most common pets are dogs and
cats. However, some people want to own exotic animals instead of normal animals. They pick
what they want, but they actually don t pay attention to an outcome later. There have three
outcomes that people should not own exotic animals which are bad for animals, bad for owners,
and bad for environment. In the Steps to Writing Well textbook by Jean Wyrick, there has an
article that supports people who adopt wild animals and the name is Zuana Kukol s Opposing
View: Let People Own Exotic Animals. Based on that, the author gives a message that people
should be allowed to adopt any animals because it helps animals stay away from extinction,
everybody should have freedom to pick any species of wild, and exotic animals have low
numbers of harmful per year. This is also a way to eliminate extinction because exotic animals
are captive animals, so they will be backup when animals go extinct. Moreover, the article shows
the record of fatalities per year by captive animals only around four people per year. Meanwhile,
traffic accidents are around one hundred per day. The writer also supports with emphasis
sentences at the end on why people have the freedom to pick their favorite car but not animals. To
sum up, the author writes this article because of supporting people who want to own exotic
animals as pets. First of all, owning wild animals as pets is a bad decision for animals life later on.

Eudora Welty s Delta Wedding
The Roaring Twenties and the Jazz Age describe an era of prosperity and entertainment. With
fancy parties, cars, houses, and a multitude of wealth, people go about their day with frivolity.
However, not all were willing to accept the social changes that goes with the 1920s. One such
novel that addresses the liberal era and some reluctance is Eudora Welty s novel Delta Wedding.
Beginning with Laura McRaven travelling to visit her extended family, the Fairchilds, at their
plantation in the Mississippi Delta, she experiences the turmoil surrounding her departed mother s
family: the uproar of the oncoming wedding, the tension between her aunts, and the difficulties one
must face in becoming a Fairchild. Despite Laura playing the main role of the novel, Welty uses
her minor character Robbie Reid to explore the compact Southern family and the polarity between
precedent archetypes and the liberal woman of the 1920s. Welty uses the temporary separation of
Robbie, Laura s aunt by marriage, and her husband, George, to highlight how swiftly the
Fairchilds will band together and turn against those who are deemed outsiders. Towards the
middle of the novel, Welty introduces Aunt Tempe who, upon hearing the news of Robbie s
departure, exclaims, I d like to see her! She ll get no welcome from me, flighty thing . . . how
can people hurt George (139). Even Ellen, who like Robbie married into the Fairchild household,

Practical And Experiential Knowledge
A major criteria that separates practical knowledge from that of theoretical, is the former s vast use
in the everyday walks of life. Practical knowledge also ensures an accurate application of the
learned skills and techniques unlike that in theoretical knowledge. As Rohtas Goel, CMD, Omaxe

significance. At every level, in an organisation, where theoretical experience helps the individual to
comprehend the basic notions, practical knowledgeenables them to execute plans and strategies in

The Legacy Of The Philippines
The Philippines is one of many third world countries, and my family had fled this poverty ridden
nation to start anew in the United States. My family, on my mother s side, began to emigrate here
to the U.S. from the Philippines in the 1980s, during Ronald Reagan s presidency. My aunt and
uncle immigrated in the year 1980 on for my grandfather s funeral, while my grandmother was
petitioned and came in 1985, but my mother did not come to the U.S. until the year 1992. The
Philippine government is extremely corrupt, and been overrun and ruled by the dictatorship of the
Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos for 15 years. My family had left the Philippines in hopes
of improving their livelihood and experiences the opportunities that America could offer, such as
better education, work, and wages. However, my family had entered the U.S. nearly penniless and
had to strive earnestly to achieve a proper living. Unfortunately, they had also entered the U.S.
during Ronald Reagans presidency and his economic policies of Reaganomicswhich was meant to
reinvigorate the American economy. Disastrously, Reaganomics only exacerbated the American
economy and was a total failure. Reaganomics gave more money and power to the already wealthy
through supply side economics, trickle down economics, and deregulation while completely

King Lear Evil Vs Evil
Second, there is nothing wrong with being a villain if society mistreats the evil character.
Although society should be against evilness, a villain may justifiably perform evil acts if he is
not treated fairly by society. King Lear, a play that involves the theme of man versus nature, is a
perfect example of this. Edmund, one of the main evil characters in the play, must overcome the
social ridicule that comes with being a bastard. In the beginning of the play, Edmund should not
be blamed for how evil he acts since society refuses to respect his dignity. It seems that since
Edmund has no one with whom he can reveal his evil deeds, he likes to express his feelings and
plans out to the audience. As Cindy Erdin explains:
[Villains] use soliloquies ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In fact, some acts seem impossible to reenact in real life because it makes the audience think
about if some villains are really life like to them. In any case, exploring the villains purpose and
development throughout stories are important as they assist the audience in understanding why
evil characters deserve to be where they end up. For this reason, villains can still have the right
motives to perform evil acts as long as they are not too observed in themselves. In specific, the
villains can only act evil towards the characters that have done something unjustifiably against
them. However, in most cases, if villains are taking their evil out on characters that never wronged
them, then they prove why evil characters never triumph in the end. In Othello and King Lear, Iago
and Edmund were fascinating characters to dissect because they are both evil in their own way.
With Iago, the audience can see that he is the greatest manipulator of mankind and he enjoys
interacting with them. Moreover, Iago is able to entertain the audience with his practical jokes but
in the end, he gets carried away with his hatred on innocent women and causes a bloodbath. On the
other hand, Edmund had a much serious conflict to deal with as he is fighting for his social rights
when it comes to being a bastard. Although he

Actions and Effects of Creatine Essay
Actions and Effects of Creatine
Throughout time, humans have had a fascination with being excellent at what they do, and
athletics have been no exception. Many substances exist, and many have been criticized and
analyzed for their safety, legality, and morality for athletes. With the banning of steroids from
competitive sports, and the implementation of random drug testing in most sports, most athletes,
professional, recreational, and would be professionals are hoping to gain an edge. More recently,
one such edge has been discovered, and it has found itself in locker rooms across the country, in the
hands of these athletes, and all the while, and probably more importantly, in the media s direct ...

This is the part of the process where creatine makes itself known. Current studies show that
creatine supplementation can increase the amount of creatine in muscles, which in turn, speeds
up the ATP refueling process (Murphy, 2000). This enhances performance by producing more
energy for brief, high intensity exercise such as sprinting, and allowing for more strenuous
workouts (Gutfeld, 1997). All of these factors are crucial to athletes who are searching for their
legal magic bullet . Creatine was first discovered by a French scientist in 1832 (Bamberger,
1998). This scientist discovered a naturally occurring organic compound that could be produced
by the kidneys, liver, and pancreas. The compound was named creatine , the Greek word for flesh
(Bamberger, 1998). It has been found that most people consume 1 gram per day, along with
naturally producing 1 gram (Bamberger, 1998). In 1981, the potential medical benefits of creatine
were published in the New England Journal of Medicine in, seven years later, two Swedish doctors,
Paul Greenhaff, and Eric Hultman, recorded performance enhancing effects of creatine in athletic
subjects, and their results were published in the journal Clinical Science in 1992 (Bamberger,
1998). Most of the current creatine buzz surfaced and intensified after the 1992 Olympics

I don t believe youths should be jail for having consensual sex .Example ,I know of an individual
who had a daughter her age Sixteen years old was dating a seventeen year old boy ,the parents did
not approved the relationship ,but these two seem in love ,as soon as the boy turned eighteen her
mother had him arrested and charged for having sex with her daughter ,that ruined the young man
life, because that stigma as a sex offender, would prevent him from having opportunities in his life
,such as decent jobs. In 2007, Florida created a law known as Romeo and Juliet law, to address
issues such as high school youth being labeled as sexual offenders or sexual predictors, as a
result of participating in consensual sexual relationship. Reason being these stigma, can have
long term consequences, which can affect the offenders, ability to attend his or her child s
school functions, and where the offender can live.(Florida Senate ,2011). Several states have also
participated in the Romeo and Juliet Law this law intention is to protect young sexual offenders
who are close in age to their victims and engage in consensual sex ,from registering as sexual
offenders. However Florida, have done this using a motion or petition process for registration
relief, some have provided age gap provisions. Some states has legalize certain sexual condition

How Did Ww1 Affect The Economy Of Canada
World War I was just a stepping stone for the Canadian nation, it was their efforts in the Second
World War that Canada really became independent. The short term losses gave Canada long term
benefits. Its economic growth, international respect, and political standing gave her recognition and
more importantly, it shaped itself as an independent country. Canadawas a widespread name after
the victory on D Day. What was previously a colony of Britain, became an international power
house on its own. As war erupted, Canada began to supply many resources and raw material to the
war, which created a boom in the economy. Factories sprouted across Canada due to the exceeding
demand of war material. Lots of factories converted their production line to help the effort, putting
more money into the flow. In the pre war period agriculture was an important section of the
economy, however the war changed that drastically as industry was required. As the war started and
by 1942 thousands of Canadian men and women found employment. In the post war period
naturally big investments were made into mining, production, transport, and service industries. This

Gap Year Pros
Taking a gap year after high school, what are the advantages? For over several years, the
controversy has been in the debate with no definite answer. There are pros and cons to taking a
gap year, but it all depends on what he or she may want to do later to in life and how soon
students want to begin. Are students satisfied with the major or career, he or she is going to study
right after high school? The idea of taking a gap year after high school is the best way to prepare a
student for collegebecause they can work for an entire year to help pay for tuition, explore college
options, and get a break from the 13 years of receiving an education. Moreover, if a high school
graduate takes a gap year he or she is able to work full time for a year and make more money to
pay for college. A full year will actually surprise students on how much they can do to put into
savings, A year of earning money full time can go a long way toward paying for college.
(McCollum) When a student graduates from high school, he or she will have their high school
diplomaso their paycheck will be higher than one in high school. While high school students
have a job it can add to the stress they have to deal with in both areas. If a high school graduate
takes off a year of school then he or she will have the opportunity to only focus on their job
specifically their roles at the company. Additionally, with the opportunity to work full time he or

Children Should Make Our Children
Every parent wants to have a healthy perfect child, but without vaccines we would have so many
sick children that could die from the diseases that are out there today. If we all make sure our
children have their vaccines we would save more lives, save money so that we are not trying to
treat the diseases, and protect the future generations from the new diseases. When deciding
whether or not to have our children get these vaccines, think about all the good things they do
rather than the bad. No one wants to lose a loved one that has just passed of old age let alone
passed because of something that could have been prevented by just a simple vaccine. All parents of
children should make sure that they receive their vaccines because it will change people s lives,
save our country a lot of money, and protect our future generations.
Clearly, there are still plenty of people out there that are not vaccinated and they cannot wait too
long to get their vaccines. The Center of Disease Control estimated that 732,000 American
children were saved from death and 322 million cases of childhood illnesses were prevented
between 1994 and 2014 due to vaccinations (Loria, 2014). Our country needs to come together to
try to make our parents understand why we are pushing to have their children vaccinated so soon.
There are many ways vaccines in the United States can change people s lives and we do not even
realize it because Americans take everything for granted. Just because a disease is lying

Nuclear Power Is The Best Efficient Power Production Method
Introduction:
Over the years there has been controversy over whether nuclear power is the most efficient power
production method in the world for the future. As global warming is increasing, the amount of
carbon dioxide emitted into the air is also increasing, and a global concern is arising about
whether the current power production methods using fossil fuels such as coal, oil and gas are long
term, as these power production methods are seen as temporary because these recourses are
becoming abundant. The most widely thought concern of the population is how long the systems
we are currently are going to last before the fuel for power runs out. There have been successful
attempts to use ecological systems such as hydropower, wind energy,... Show more content on

Similarly, there are ethnic concerns about the production of atomic bombs, as these are a form of
fission but are an uncontrolled chain reaction unlike the controlled chain reaction of fission that
provides energy in nuclear reactors.
Nuclear energy allows one to produce energy without increasing the atmospheric carbon dioxide or
other greenhouse gases and does not stimulate global warming. There are two ways that this can be
achieved, either through nuclear fission or through nuclear fusion. Fission is known as the splitting
of large nuclei such as Uranium 235, resulting in a loss of mass and hence a release in energy in
the form of heat. This energy is used to produce steam, making a turbine spin, and then providing
the power for electricity to be produced. It is currently one of the strongest substitutes for power
production methods using fossil fuels as nuclear fuels could potentially last for about 2000 years.
Nuclear fusion, or the fusing together of light nuclei to form larger ones can create another form of
nuclear energy. Essentially, it is the exact reaction that occurs in the sun, as the sun s heat is created
by the bombardment of hydrogen atoms creating helium and a neutron during which energy is

Agatha Christie Dysgraphia
Agatha Christie Dysgraphia It was quite true and I knew and accepted it. It did not worry or
distress me. I was always resigned to being the slow one (ResearchGate). This is what Agatha
Christie said one day when she realized she had a very serious disease, now known as dysgraphia.
Christie s dysgraphiacaused her many challenges in her lifetime, but it never stopped her from
being an amazing, bestselling novelist. In the United States, anywhere from five to thirty three
percent of elementary children deal with some level of dysgraphia (Adam), a writingdisability.
Other names for dysgraphia include backwards writing, developmental output failure, and math
disability (Siegel). When a child has dysgraphia, there is a problem with the writing process;
therefore, the children have trouble writing (Richards 63). Some of the victims of dysgraphia
have trouble forming letters, while others can form letters but not very quickly (Paquette 88). It
was once said, As students struggle with the process, they become preoccupied and can t let
their ideas flow onto the page (89). Although there are many devices to help with the disease,
there are very few ways to overcome dysgraphia. One of the tools one can use to help a child
with dysgraphia is graphic organizers. Another tool someone can use is special education
services in the school. Most schools offer very good special education services which can help
children with many challenges, including dysgraphia (91). Other tools commonly used may
include a spell checker (93), word prediction software, and text to speech tools (259). Many
teachers also suggest keeping a list of commonly misspelled words and having a note taker.
Teachers may also use oral tests instead of written tests to eliminate stress (93). One can also use
the checkbook programs companies provide (259).
Dysgraphia is caused by an issue between two main brain systems (Paquette 89). Some of the
symptoms of dysgraphia may include cramped fingers, inconsistent formations and slants to letters,
unfinished cursive writing, decreased speed of writing, and poor organization on the page
(Richards 63). There are five different kinds of dysgraphia. The first is known as motor dysgraphia,
and symptoms may

Net Neutrality In Internet Service Providers
The concept of net neutrality is the fact that all internet service providers, or ISPs, have to treat all
data on the internet the same, without regard to content, platform, etc(Wikipedia). The main
purpose of this law is to prevent ISPs from executing abusive business practices that harm education
and promote censorship. Without net neutrality ISPs would have control over the internetand what
the consumers see. What this means is that companies can pay ISPs to be part of their service,
and the companies that can t pay will be slowed down. There are no downsides to net neutrality to
the consumer, however from a business point of view ISPs won t be making as much
money(Debate.org). However that downside is easily outweighed by the several harms

Ultrasonic:
Ultrasonic is science of acoustics dealing with generation and use of inaudible acoustic waves. The
sound waves having frequencies ranging above 20KHZ up to several MHZ i.e. human audible
ranges are called ultrasonic waves. The sound waves of low frequencies i.e. below human audible
range are infrasonic waves. Like life, ultrasonic was originated from sea. The five senses of living
beings i.e. hearing, touch, smell, sight and taste are interdependent on each other. Out of these five,
two are important for long rang interaction i.e. sight and hearing and other three have short range
performance. But these things are different under water because long range sight has no use under
water. By default, sound waves have long range sensing functionality under water.
The era of ultrasonic began with the wrecking of RMS Titanic which crashed with ice berg. The
detection of ice berg was done by high frequency waves. In 1915 Langevin (the father of ultrasonic)
invented the underwater SONAR for submarine detection. Sokolov suggested the concept of
ultrasonic metal flaw detection in 1928. After that slow and steady progress was made in the
measurement of propagation constant of material. The propagation of ultrasonic waves through
solid material has been used to detect hidden cracks, porosity, voids and other discontinuities in
metal. The field of ultrasonic has wide application in science, medicine and

The matching structure of NDM 1 inhibits the effectiveness of the antibiotics that share the same
chemical structure. Carbapenems are relatively new antibiotics that are used to treat organisms that
have mutated and developed resistances to older antibiotics such as penicillins and cephalosporins.
NDM 1 is further resistant to carbapenems because it secrets the enzyme carbapenemase. This
secretion inhibits the antibiotics from synthesizing the bacteria s cell wall in order to disable the
bacteria. It is concerning that NDM 1 already has a strong resistance to the more effective
carbapenems. Unfortunately the life cycle for this organism is unknown as of yet. This
uncertainty aids in making NDM 1 a threat to society. Once it is understood how NDM 1 bacteria
are transmitted, the health threats associated with the organism can be diagnosed and treated
more easily. NDM 1 is easily transmitted because it resides in the plasmids of the bacteria, which
provides an ideal surface for horizontal gene transfer. Thus, NDM 1 can easily transfer from one
bacterial strain to another or from one bacterial genus to another. Because the main strains of
bacteria that produce NDM 1 (escherichia coli, klebsiella pneumoniae, and enterobacter cloacae)

Freud s Trust Vs. Miss Trust Theory
Half of the infants in the United States today have employed mothers, twice the proportion that
there were in 1970. Studies on the affect of mothers going back to work have been varied and
have thus for lead to interpretations of the results. The mothers and infants relationship has a
central part in a lot of theories on an infants trust development. Freud s trust vs. miss trust theory is
an example of this. Infants must learn to trust their caregivers to meet their needs. Responsive
parenting is critical. (Pg 38, Life span and development, Text book). Freud theory focused on the
importance of the individuals early experience with the family. He believed that an infant s early
experience went on to contribute to the individual s adult personality. The following studies data is
based of a one time assessment session. This research found by (refecence 3) has found that infants
still form attachments with their mothers who work full time. Although they did argue that these
infants are more likely to form an insecure relationship with their mothers compared to mothers
who did not work or worked part time. This then posses the risk that working mothers are at risk of
having a emotional insecurity as the infants may perceive the parents absence as a rejection. This
could be disturbing because of the development of coping strategies leading to anger and mistrust
with the mother. Other study that have been done to try and compare infants trust with working or

Animal Cruelty Is A Crime Against Humanity
In order to constitute animal cruelty as a Crime Against Humanity we must prove that society is
ignoring the violence towards them despite the research evidence, the government sanctions mass
killings of them, and that this type of violence affects humans on a large scale (Plant, Schaik,
Gullone, Flynn 2016). Although dispositional factors such as empathy and aggression may
influence animal cruelty, we must look at the environmental factors that lead to the negative effects
from a macro level perspective. In this analysis, I will review whether exposure to animal cruelty
correlates with future maladaptive behaviors and the damaging effects it may have when
perpetrated at a large scale.

This proposes the idea of how actions of animal maltreatment are similar to actions of child or
domestic violence. The second reason stated in the book Child Abuse, Domestic Violence, and
Animal Abuse: Linking the Circles of Compassion for Prevention and Intervention, is that
cowardly acts of aggression against vulnerable members of the family are matters of power and
control. The victims can be of any size, age, gender, or species, it is simply a matter of the
opportunity that presents itself (Ascione Arkow 1999). Lastly, the book Child Abuse, Domestic
Violence, and Animal Abuse: Linking the Circles of Compassion for Prevention and Intervention,
states that any act of aggression or violence within the entire family can put the members of that
family at risk. The dangers of this violence may also reach out as far as the community and its
children (Ascione Arkow 1999).
An example of animal exploitation spilling over to other forms of violence is the relationship
between animal violence and intimate partner violence. In a study done in April 2007, researchers
asked both battered and non battered women to report whether their partner had any history of
abusing their pets at home. The women living in the domestic violence shelter were nearly 11 times
more likely to report that their partner had hurt or killed pets than the group of non battered women

The Pros And Cons Of Computer Crime
Part A: Computer Crime
The integration of computer utilization in every aspect of economic activities has increased the
vulnerability of people to criminal activities; whereas, a computer is employed as instruments of
crime such as murder, child pornography, hacking, virus distribution or fraud. Presently, computers
are the newest criminality instrument utilized today; as such, individuals who comprehend in what
manner to employ them can access doors that only a small number of people are even aware exist
(Rosoff, Pontell Tillman, 2013).
Nowadays, corrupted software programs are substituting the fabricated account books, the desired
customary mechanism of an embezzler. The characteristic weaponries of the burglar likewise today
be depicted from a far more cutting edge arsenal encompassing such contemporary instruments as
automatic cashier systems and electronic account transfers. In a nutshell, white collar crime has
entered the computer era (Rosoff, Pontell Tillman, 2013).
As well, the internet provides an environment in which computers are the tools employed to commit
computer crimes or the target in the crime. Computer crimes is defined as acts committed against a
person with a criminal motive by using modern technology in telecommunication networking such
as the internet. The crimes may affect the target financially, health wise or even psychologically.
High profile computer crimes may include copyright infringement, fraud, child pornography, and

from the historical perspective of American programmes on the British screen. Dating back to the

The Roman foundation myths became popular at this point due to their ability to unite society
through common origins and displace political differences, helping Emperor Augustus to solidify
his reign. The myths included the origins of Rome s core political and religious institutions
(Hughes and Hope, 2010, p.108), recounted in Livy s The Early Histories of Rome. Livy (2010,
p.23) credits Romulus with founding Rome by the giving of laws, without which the creation of a
unified body politic would not have been possible and the adoption of certain visible signs of
power like the twelve lectors to attend him, the curule chair, purple bordered togas and the creation
of the Senate. Augustus used these myths and the ideas associated with Aeneas and Romulus to
communicate his ideology of tradition and innovation. Augustus implemented Livy s (2010, p.17)

only amulet which would have been worn in this chapter, not to suggest that talisman in the form

With the ulumas desire to purify Islam from the occult, and contemplating that talisman would lead
to idolatry, surely then it would be inaccurate to conclusively claim that the occult science
deteriorated during the MamlЕ«k period as has been the conventional historical paradigm. Michael
Dols, through an analysis of numerous sources, has contended that the use of the occult science in
Medieval Islam was more prevalent than previously acknowledged in the scholastic field. Al Saleh
corroborates with Dols, by arguing that the continuous conquests in the name of Islam engendered
an increase in Islamic magical beliefs, because cultural encounter and exchange were inevitable.
Similarly, to the refutation of astrology, the discontentment shown towards talisman by the
traditionalist implies that the practice and belief of talisman had reached levels of apprehension for
the traditionalist. Livingston acknowledges this by highlighting that in the 14th century, a popular
belief in the occult science had been seen by some to endanger the religious foundation of Islamic
MamlЕ«k. Furthermore, some historians suggest that there was a belief among the amД«rs in the
talismanic influences of ancient carved statues, conceivably of pharaonic origins, within the
MamlЕ«k period. Indeed, then the use of the talisman and the occult was part of the mainstream
medieval MamlЕ«k culture. It may have not been acknowledged previously, as the number of
published textual sources concerning the occult science during MamlЕ«k period is difficult to
come across. Moreover, deliberating the visual and material evidence discussed in this chapter, we
come see that the occult manifested in many forms, ranging from paper scrolls to jewellery.
Remarkably, textual occultist treatises were far

Grand Theft Auto Vs. Grand Larceny Auto
Imagine, you are stepping out of your home and can hop into any car you desire for. Tedious
jobs such as taking shower can be avoided for ages. Daily tasks won t even include changing
clothes. Moreover, hunger can be avoided. All you do is live amidst the action and adventure of
Los Santos. Yes, you are in the gaming world of Grand Theft Auto V.
Grand Theft Auto V is not only an absurdly entertaining game, but it also derides the modern
America. Grand Theft Auto is a game which parallels the present day situation of the world,
which is literally appealing. Los Santos, the name of fantasized city which may captivate anyone,
the city full of celebrities, now striving in a time of economic question mark. This game surpasses
the preceding version of Grand Theft Auto revealed nearly 7 years back. This has been the best
fantasy game created till date (up to my knowledge at least). Grand Theft Auto V confidently
challenges other games such as The Last of Us and Bioshock Infinite, being doubtless, it wins the
competition with some fight given by The Last of Us. It couldn t be superior than Grand Theft Auto
V though. This game s fabricated world looks spectacular express your gratitude to the Grand Theft
Auto creating team as they focused on every minute detail.
There is also an online option available, consequently, one can stack up with his/her mates for a

Analysis of Pauline Puyat’s Tracks Essay
Analysis of Pauline Puyat s TracksВ
One of the most striking characteristics of Pauline Puyat is her devout Catholicism and her desire
to be disconnected from the Ojibwa people. Throughout Tracks, she openly chooses Catholicism
over her native religion and abandons her native ways almost completely. When Pauline tries to
help Fleur prevent a miscarriage, she is literally held back by her conscious separation from the
Ojibwa culture.
There are many things that Pauline fails to do to effectively prevent Fleur from miscarrying. The
most obvious is her failure to efficiently put together the herbal steep made of Alder: And I could
not remember the plant s configuration, even though its use was common enough for bleeding ...

Pauline s personification of the plants only continues this idea of confusion and abandonment. Her
prayer to the Catholic God is almost ironic; Pauline is begging her God to help her remember the
practices that she thinks sacrilegious.
Pauline s Catholicism and her duties as an Angel of Death continue to control her for the rest of
the passage. Before giving Fleur the Alder (or whatever herb she actually grabbed) steep,
Pauline is captivated by her face: Fleur s eyes were closed. Her face was drained of color. I k
new this look and I was fascinated, rapt, as at other death and sickbeds (157). Here, Pauline
forgets what she is doing for Fleur and reverts to her duty as the Angel of Death, abandoning her
Ojibwa ways for Catholicism. This seems to create further confusion for Pauline, as Fleur must
instruct her on what to do with the alder plant. When Pauline puts herself to that task, she finds
that she is unable to do anything because the Lord overtook [her] limbs and made them
clumsy...it must have been his terrible will (157). Pauline feels that God does not want her to
help Fleur, and is preventing her from doing so by deadening her limbs. Although she is trying to
help Fleur, she simply cannot. Pauline s claims that clumsiness and forgetfulness of Ojibwa
traditions is God s terrible will, are a claim of validity for both her follies in this passage and her
stubborn separations from the Ojibwa.

Jealousies In The Crucible
From The Crucible and my own experience there have been some types of jealousies, selfish
ambitions, and peer pressures, etc. They are both the same from the story and into real life
experience. So let s start with The Crucible there is a lot going on in there because there is
proctor and elizabeth and abigail and more there is jealousies and more. And in my life
experience there has been the same thing like friend. From the author Victor Hugo he explained
on society is a republic. Well it s referring from the crucible where everyone in the story was in a
part of jealousies. In my own life i ve seen that there are people who have been jealous and prue

where it would get out of hand and worse from the types of effective ways from people. This
topic will be about the types of the ways in The Crucible the people in there get hurt a lot. Where
Proctor tells Elizabeth peer pressured her not to go with Herrick because she was accused of
witchcrafts . quote I ll go John Elizabeth You will not go! Proctor he wanted her to stay and not
going with them and she was going but he would pull her away from the door.Another part were
abigail gets jealous of Elizabeth because proctor kept choosing her over abigail. Oh, I marvel
how such a strong man may let such a sickly wife be Abigail ( angered at himself as well). You ll
speak nothin of Elizabeth! in which proctor didn t like her talking about his wife like that
because he loves her but Abigail loved Proctor and she didn t want him with Elizabeth. There is a
part of selfish were abigail goes against tituba saying that tituba made her do things with
witchcrafts so Abigail lied to her father saying She comes to me every night to go and drink blood

Student Interview Summary
I learned a lot from both interviews because Sunday Salter is a female counselor at a community
college and she is residing in California while my other interviewee, Dr. Bruce Mathews, is a male
that is a dean at a four year institution in Hawai i. I noticed differences between the institution of the
work occurring within their functional areas. For instance, Sunday Salter mentioned that her
institution is considers a Hispanic Serving Institution (HIS). However, Dr. Mathews at first was not
so sure of the definition of HIS until I explained it to him. I quickly noticed that if he did not know
the definition that it would be very likely that their institution probably is an Asian American and
Native American Pacific Islander Serving Institution... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example, Mrs. Salter mentioned how the campus climate is constantly changing because of
their diverse campus population. The college has students with different ethnic and cultural
backgrounds, as well as students with different sexual orientations. This means Pierce College
needs to improve the way they are serving their students by proving comfortable spaces where
students from diverse backgrounds can relate. Mrs. Salter mentioned how she wished her campus
had a safe space like a student union where students can spend more time on campus. Staff and
faculty members do not see this change necessary for their campus, which is problematic. Similarly,
Dr. Mathews stated that he wished the university had a safe space for students that identify as
Pacific Islander, but have different cultural backgrounds since some of these students do not come
from the Philippines. It is unfortunate that the students at the University of Hawai i, of Hilo may
not be experiencing inclusion since they are all clustered into one ethnic background. Both
campuses need to work on providing a safe space for their students in order to have a more
inclusive campus

The Aqueducts of the Ancient Romans
Imagine you live in ancient Rome and your potable water source is forty miles away from where
you live. How would you get the water for every day? The answer to this are the aqueducts. Why
and how the Romans did this? The Roman did this because some of their cities were far away from
the potable water source and the function of an aqueductis to transport the water from the potable
source to the city. The Romans brought the water from their sources using channels at ground level
or building structures like bridges with channels at the top. They used the bridges in order to save
uneven terrains. All this structures are called aqueducts. In Roman times all aqueducts functioned
using gravity, which means they brought water from higher levels to lower levels.
The Romans are known for their civil and military architecture all around their empire. The
Romans invented several architecture and engineering structures. They developed the arch, the
dome, the Roman concrete, and the pavement. The pavement was a structure that is used to
solve some of the issues they found to build the net of roads along their empire. They needed
durable roads that would last a long time and support heavy loads. The basic structure of the
pavement is a lower layer close to the ground that is called the sub base. It was made out of
gravel. Above that layer there is another layer which is the base. It is made out of sand. On top of
that there were pieces of stone that were cut into a square or rectangular

The Day Of Canada With My Brother
Today is the day. I am going to Canada with my brother, Justin. We have packed for two weeks
worth of things, and we are very excited to go.
Justin! I called out.
We are going to be late! I exclaimed.
Just a minute, I am finishing up on packing! He exclaimed. I walked downstairs to go see if there
was anything I could help with. I walked into Justin s room and found him playing his Xbox.
I thought you said you were packing... I said suspiciously.
I was... He started to explain. Let s just go now! I said. I pulled his arm, got his stuff, and then
started to head out to the car.
Mom! Are you ready to drop us off? I asked. Yes! Are you sure you want to go to Canada all by
yourself? It will be you, and your thirteen year old twin brother. And of course, you will be staying
with some of your friends. My mom said.
We will be fine. Justin said.
It was two hours later. Justin and I were just sitting at the airport with the airport lady that was
looking after us. Then they called our flight. We got on the plane. Ten minutes later and we were in
the sky. Everything was so small from above. Then, I heard a loud clanging sound. Are you okay?
Justin asked.
I m fine... but what is that loud sound? I asked.
I think he will know the answer. I thought. He wants to be a pilot when he grows up. I thought. I
think that is the sound of the airplane breaking down. He said. After a couple seconds of him
thinking that over, he said,

Friar Lawrence Guilty
Many people read tragedies throughout their lifetime, and they wonder why this awful tragedy
has occurred. Often times, a character causes this unfortunate demise. William Shakespeare s
famous play Romeo and Juliet tells of a tragedy between two lovers, where the two star crossed
lovers die in the end. Readers and analysts have pondered the thought of who did it. Friar
Lawrence is an obvious reason for the unfortunate demise of Romeo and Juliet because he
marries the two star crossed lovers, helps Juliet escape the marriage to Paris, and fails to send
Romeo a sign that Juliet faked her death. Friar Lawrence is guilty because of his affiliation with
the wedding between Romeo and Juliet. When Romeo is banished from Verona, Juliet was being
forced to marry Count Paris. Juliet tries to avoid this and asks Friar for advice. Friar tells... Show

about peace to the two opposed families, the Montagues and the Capulets. Immediately, however,
he tells Romeo, Wisely and slowly, they stumble that run fast (2.3.101). Friar Lawrence warns
Romeo that if he is too hasty, then it leads to bad consequences. Friar Lawrence is clearly aware
that if he and he alone marries the two, then their marriage will collapse, yet he decides to marry

the city of Verona, his home town. Without Friar Lawrence, the two would not have married, which

A Cinderella Story Essay
A Cinderella Story
When examining adaptations of fairytales you must look at the original source. This can be a
very difficult task because with fairytales we never really know where the original came from. I
will base my paper on the theory that the original tale of Cinderella comes from the Grimm Brothers
version of Ashputtle. In comparison we will examine two movies. First there is the Disney version
Cinderella. Secondly we will look at the movie Ever After .
Characterization is an important aspect of any story or film, because it sets what the entire film will
be about, and how the audience will absorb it. In the story of Ashputtle . The characters include

Cinderella in this film is portrayed as a sweet and innocent child who years to be loved after her
father passes on leaving her in the care of a very evil stepmother. The character of the prince was
very different then in the first film. In the other film we find that the prince has feelings and
emotions, whereas in this film, he is portrayed as a very dedicated man who falls in love and
becomes obsessed. The odd thing about his character is that he is not seen very much in the film,
it focuses more on Cinderella, and her family and her attempts to go to the ball . Also it focuses on
the fact that the king is forcing his son to marry.
Viewpoint affects many different aspects of a story and film. When we look at the story we
read it from the viewpoint of ?Ashputtle?. This viewpoint in the story is Omniscient Narrator =
which is an objective, non participating all seeing mind . In the story version the author plays
the role of narrator, as he is the one telling the story. In the first film Ever After the point of view
is told from the first person point of view. First person = describes a character who participates in
the events of the story and tells it in an subjective fashion. We see examples of this when we view
the film, because when the characters that portray the Grimm Brothers come to the palace and then
the great, great, great granddaughter of the real Cinderella tells the story. The second

Its business risk is relatively low but so is its P/E. Amazon.com operates in a evolving industry
and the company first became profitable in 2003. Its business risk is relatively high and so is its P

Without a detailed examination of the financial reporting practices and related disclosures of each
company, it is difficult to draw conclusions about the degree to which the P/E ratio differences
might be related to differences in earnings quality. Concerns about earnings quality have
occasionally surfaced in financial press articles on each company.
Absent information about investors earnings quality concerns, it is likely to be the case that most
of the variation in P/E ratios is due to differences in growth opportunities and (to a lesser extent)
risk.
Requirement 2: The firms in Group B are all from the same industry grocery chains so there is
less variation in P/E ratios among these firms than was the case for firms in Group A.
Kroger, Pantry, and Safeway have P/E ratios that are quite close to one another. These companies
are large, financially strong, and already have numerous U.S. locations. While new locations are
added each year, the pace of growth is rather modest. Whole Foods Market has a P/E ratio that

The Fight For Black Civil Rights
When any society says that I cannot marry a certain person, that society has cut off a segment of
my freedom. Martin Luther King Jr, 1958. This provocative statement, in reference to interracial
matrimony during the fight for black civil rights in America is unfortunately once again significant,
however this time in reference to marriageequality in Australia. The failure of the law to allow all
couples regardless of sex to marry, and furthermore refusal to acknowledge marriages conducted
overseas, is a disgrace to the nation supposedly know as accepting of difference and intolerant to
discrimination.
Among innumerable reasons why marriage equality should be legalized in Australia, a prominent
one is that restricting the option to marry any citizen is discriminatory and unconstitutional. This
sort of treatment not only deprives every day people of their dignity, creating a second class of
citizens, but also suggests that LGBTI+ people are somehow unworthy of participation in one of
the fundamental institutions of our society. A lack of opportunity to formalize same sex relations
implies that these relationships aren t of equal standard, exacerbating unjust prejudice and
intolerance. This impression is promoted through the lack of financial, medical and social rights
associated with marriage to individuals in a civil union, the supposed adequate equivalent for
marriage. Although the legalisation of marriage equality would have no impact on non LGBTI+
communities,

A Book Came From Jellicoe Road By Melina Marchetta
My selectiveness when I have to choose something to read came from Jellicoe Road, a novel
written by Melina Marchetta. The elements in the work played upon my emotions, causing them
to overflow and my world to expand. Beforehand, I would just look for a book to read and hope
to enjoy it. After reading Jellicoe Road, I now search for books with which I can make a personal
connection. In my emotions and my mind, I experience the events in the characters journeys. I use
those literary connections to escape my reality. The overwhelming emotions that come from
reading literature are crucial to finding the right novel. It has to make me cry, laugh, or form an
attachment to the character. I have to become both mentally and emotionally invested in the
book because that causes me to continue reading. Jellicoe Road is one of the books that feed my
curiosity. In this book, Taylor Markham goes through her own journey while another story is
being told. Taylor Markham was left by her mother at a 7 Eleven store that was located on
Jellicoe Road when she was eleven years old. She does not have any memory of her father
except for one when she was sitting on his shoulders. As she reaches her eleventh year at the
Jellicoe School, she becomes the leader of her House. After school hours, the adults do not know

From 2011onwards, there was advancement of technology in Apple Company under the leadership

he was still involved in the company s major decision making. The company unveiled iCloud,
which was an online storage facility for photos, music and files. Iphone 4S was introduced later on

The customers bargaining power is another force that presents a competitive pressure on companies
in this industry. Customers are more interested on the brand identity with much preference on the
emergent ones. They tend to be loyal to price elasticity and hence companies are left to compete in
cutting costs. Obviously, consumers will go for products with low prices and therefore companies
such as Apple would not risk being expensive. The more expensive a company s products are the
less the number of buyers received. Immediately a substitute enters the market, everything to do
with the existing products becomes competitive. Consumers are left to make considerate choices
between the product and its substitutes. The Smartphone Tablet industry is characterized by
emergent of various brands within short ranges of time. These brands become substitutes and
affect the pricing strategy adversely. This is a force that Apple and the other companies have to
deal with as far as their survival in the market is concerned.
A barrier to entry is another competitive force that Apple and other companies endure. The
possibilities of entering a particular market are limited by factors such as technology, time and cost
advantage, economies of scale and knowledge. If a certain market is characterized by a certain

Unlike FedEx and UPS, Airborne owned the airport that served as its major hub, so it did not pay
landing fees nor face any obstacles to tailoring facilities to its needs. It also built a warehouse in
the airport and leased it to business customers, so as to increase delivery speed. Moreover, the
airport s status as a Community Reinvestment Act one led to reduced property taxes.
Airborne relied less on automation and more on humans, in particular part timers that were paid
relatively low. Its fleet also consisted primarily of used aircraft to reduce CAPEX. It managed to
maximize its payload, which was roughly 80% full, around 10% to 15% more higher than its
competitors.
Airborne s customers were concentrated in major metropolitan areas. 80% to 85% of its volume
was shipped among the top 50 metropolitan areas, while it was below 60% for FedEx and UPS. It
could also use trucks (one third of transportation cost of aircraft) more often than its competitors as
a greater portion of Airborne s volume consisted of afternoon and second day deliveries.
In terms of pickup and delivery, Airborne did not maintain retail service centres. It hired contractors
to handle 60% to 65% of its volume, so it could save cost by owning a lesser portion of delivery
trucks. Its courier generally picked up and delivered more parcels per stop than FedEx, reducing
labour costs per unit by 20% and 10% for pickup and delivery respectively.

It employs millions worldwide and provides a livelihood for nations and individuals alike. Focussing on a more specific economy the economy of the Caribbean a similar picture emerges. Much of the population has found employment in industries directly related to tourism and many more have done so in industries indirectly related to tourism. Since the islands rely so heavily upon the flow of capital from the tourist sector, they can easily be devastated financially if even the slightest natural phenomena occur. Volcanoes and hurricanes two common and well known natural disasters are quite frequent in the Caribbean, owing to the physical geography of the regions. Such events can easily deter potential tourists and sent the economy into a downward spiraling recession, amplifying the challenge of recovery. The increased demand for goods that ensues subsequent to the establishment of tourism as the primary contributor to national income leads to an unprecedented demand for products and services. And as according to the dictates of the laws of supply and demand, as inflation beings to skyrocket, the purchasing power parity of individuals plummets. This imbalance between an extremely high aggregate demand and a relatively inelastic aggregate supply (in part due to the short time frame) places locals in a difficult position. High costs of living necessitate drastic changes in traditional lifestyles and often lead to poverty; these events in turn result in even greater social and economic chaos. Unlike the development of high tech industries by public and private sector contributions, heavy investment in tourism yields few other advantages, especially in digital communications networks. The attention that a sneeze receives, leaves all the poor coughs and hiccups alone in the corner, waiting for a blessing. My personal beliefs and ideals would be assisting me when finding the moderate views, for I m neither a conservative nor a liberal; I believe in pleasing both ends, which, despite the stories, can be possible. As a moderate, I ve done researches on how other countries control their government and I found one weapon control from Japan to be very suitable for our own use in the United States. The idea benefits both sides of the party; the common individuals are allowed to have weapons for their own protection but only when they have taken classes and pass a certain test of mental and physical health to prove their fitness. A background check is also permitted to prevent any member of criminal or extremist groups to have such weapons. Then a file is kept along with all gun owners in that area. Every few years, the individual could take their weapon to the police for inspection and any broken parts. Every few years, the individual would also retake the fitness tests to ensure they are still very able to keep the firearm. This includes to all police members as well. The ARC is a humanitarian organization that is dependent on the contributions of time, blood, and money from the American public to support its multiple lifesaving services and programs. It needs to look how to improve its response times, how to become more efficient in collecting denotations and how to prioritize and quickly distribute the donations it receives in a fair and efficient manner. It needs to hold its leaders to a higher standard that will instill a culture of high moral standard in its employees and volunteers. Once the nation sees a change in the behavior of the ARC they will be more willing to give donations and their time to support disaster relief efforts. The Role Stakeholder Orientation Played in the Scenario It is vital that every organization is able to accurately identify their stakeholders, whether it is a for profit or a non profit organization. One of the most important reasons for identifying and understanding stakeholders is that it allows the organization to recruit them as part of their efforts and learn firsthand on their needs and requirements (Rabinowitz, 2014). The novel has been critically acclaimed and given more good reviews than it truthfully deserves. When reading a novel one expects the writingto pull you in and captivate you with each turn of the page. However, this is not one of those novels. Motivation for reading this novel began to slip soon into the first chapter and my class grade is the only reason I was able to complete the reading. The novel is meant to be written in satire but throughout the entire book, I only found a select few lines witty or amusing. There are a few appealing things worth mentioning among the atrocity that lies between the covers of this novel. Each chapter is written in either a diary entry or messages and chats. This technique is called epistolary which allows for an interesting look at each of the main character s voices. Leonard, or Lenny, Abramov is the more expressive of the two as he often becomes long winded because of his detailed descriptions of what he finds beautiful. An inclusive environment is an environment where everyone has an opportunity to fully participate. In education, this means everyone has the same opportunity, there should be no boundaries such as ethnicity, gender or disability. All students should feel valued, be able to mix and participate with all members of the group be in a safe and positive environment. Gravells (2014) states: You are not teaching your subject to a group of learners who are all the same, but to a group of individuals with different experiences, abilities and needs, which should be recognised and respected . I like to make all of my students feel important, speaking to them directly, using eye contact, using their name, asking them direct questions. Initially I carry out an assessment to test their prior knowledge, their preferred learning styles and to assess if any additional support is required. I can then adjust the teaching level and pitch it correctly to each individual. (1.2) Compare the strengths and limitations of teaching and learning approaches used in own area of specialism in relation to meeting individual learner needs? There have three outcomes that people should not own exotic animals which are bad for animals, bad for owners, and bad for environment. In the Steps to Writing Well textbook by Jean Wyrick, there has an article that supports people who adopt wild animals and the name is Zuana Kukol s Opposing View: Let People Own Exotic Animals. Based on that, the author gives a message that people should be allowed to adopt any animals because it helps animals stay away from extinction, everybody should have freedom to pick any species of wild, and exotic animals have low numbers of harmful per year. This is also a way to eliminate extinction because exotic animals are captive animals, so they will be backup when animals go extinct. Moreover, the article shows the record of fatalities per year by captive animals only around four people per year. Meanwhile, traffic accidents are around one hundred per day. The writer also supports with emphasis sentences at the end on why people have the freedom to pick their favorite car but not animals. With fancy parties, cars, houses, and a multitude of wealth, people go about their day with frivolity. However, not all were willing to accept the social changes that goes with the 1920s. One such novel that addresses the liberal era and some reluctance is Eudora Welty s novel Delta Wedding. Beginning with Laura McRaven travelling to visit her extended family, the Fairchilds, at their plantation in the Mississippi Delta, she experiences the turmoil surrounding her departed mother s family: the uproar of the oncoming wedding, the tension between her aunts, and the difficulties one must face in becoming a Fairchild. Despite Laura playing the main role of the novel, Welty uses her minor character Robbie Reid to explore the compact Southern family and the polarity between precedent archetypes and the liberal woman of the 1920s. Welty uses the temporary separation of Robbie, Laura s aunt by marriage, and her husband, George, to highlight how swiftly the Fairchilds will band together and turn against those who are deemed outsiders. Towards the middle of the novel, Welty introduces Aunt Tempe who, upon hearing the news of Robbie s departure, exclaims, I d like to see her! • 22. King Lear Evil Vs Evil Second, there is nothing wrong with being a villain if society mistreats the evil character. Although society should be against evilness, a villain may justifiably perform evil acts if he is not treated fairly by society. King Lear, a play that involves the theme of man versus nature, is a perfect example of this. Edmund, one of the main evil characters in the play, must overcome the social ridicule that comes with being a bastard. In the beginning of the play, Edmund should not be blamed for how evil he acts since society refuses to respect his dignity. It seems that since Edmund has no one with whom he can reveal his evil deeds, he likes to express his feelings and plans out to the audience. As Cindy Erdin explains: [Villains] use soliloquies ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In fact, some acts seem impossible to reenact in real life because it makes the audience think about if some villains are really life like to them. In any case, exploring the villains purpose and development throughout stories are important as they assist the audience in understanding why evil characters deserve to be where they end up. For this reason, villains can still have the right motives to perform evil acts as long as they are not too observed in themselves. In specific, the villains can only act evil towards the characters that have done something unjustifiably against them. However, in most cases, if villains are taking their evil out on characters that never wronged them, then they prove why evil characters never triumph in the end. In Othello and King Lear, Iago and Edmund were fascinating characters to dissect because they are both evil in their own way. With Iago, the audience can see that he is the greatest manipulator of mankind and he enjoys interacting with them. Moreover, Iago is able to entertain the audience with his practical jokes but in the end, he gets carried away with his hatred on innocent women and causes a bloodbath. If we all make sure our children have their vaccines we would save more lives, save money so that we are not trying to treat the diseases, and protect the future generations from the new diseases. When deciding whether or not to have our children get these vaccines, think about all the good things they do rather than the bad. No one wants to lose a loved one that has just passed of old age let alone passed because of something that could have been prevented by just a simple vaccine. All parents of children should make sure that they receive their vaccines because it will change people s lives, save our country a lot of money, and protect our future generations. The Center of Disease Control estimated that 732,000 American children were saved from death and 322 million cases of childhood illnesses were prevented between 1994 and 2014 due to vaccinations (Loria, 2014). As global warming is increasing, the amount of carbon dioxide emitted into the air is also increasing, and a global concern is arising about whether the current power production methods using fossil fuels such as coal, oil and gas are long term, as these power production methods are seen as temporary because these recourses are becoming abundant. The most widely thought concern of the population is how long the systems we are currently are going to last before the fuel for power runs out. Similarly, there are ethnic concerns about the production of atomic bombs, as these are a form of fission but are an uncontrolled chain reaction unlike the controlled chain reaction of fission that provides energy in nuclear reactors. Nuclear energy allows one to produce energy without increasing the atmospheric carbon dioxide or other greenhouse gases and does not stimulate global warming. There are two ways that this can be achieved, either through nuclear fission or through nuclear fusion. Fission is known as the splitting of large nuclei such as Uranium 235, resulting in a loss of mass and hence a release in energy in the form of heat. This energy is used to produce steam, making a turbine spin, and then providing the power for electricity to be produced. It is currently one of the strongest substitutes for power production methods using fossil fuels as nuclear fuels could potentially last for about 2000 years. Nuclear fusion, or the fusing together of light nuclei to form larger ones can create another form of nuclear energy. I was always resigned to being the slow one (ResearchGate). This is what Agatha Christie said one day when she realized she had a very serious disease, now known as dysgraphia. Christie s dysgraphiacaused her many challenges in her lifetime, but it never stopped her from being an amazing, bestselling novelist. In the United States, anywhere from five to thirty three percent of elementary children deal with some level of dysgraphia (Adam), a writingdisability. Other names for dysgraphia include backwards writing, developmental output failure, and math disability (Siegel). When a child has dysgraphia, there is a problem with the writing process; therefore, the children have trouble writing (Richards 63). Some of the victims of dysgraphia have trouble forming letters, while others can form letters but not very quickly (Paquette 88). It was once said, As students struggle with the process, they become preoccupied and can t let their ideas flow onto the page (89). Although there are many devices to help with the disease, there are very few ways to overcome dysgraphia. One of the tools one can use to help a child with dysgraphia is graphic organizers. Another tool someone can use is special education services in the school. Most schools offer very good special education services which can help children with many challenges, including dysgraphia (91). Other tools commonly used may include a spell checker (93), word prediction software, and text to speech tools (259). Many teachers also suggest keeping a list of commonly misspelled words and having a note taker. Teachers may also use oral tests instead of written tests to eliminate stress (93). One can also use the checkbook programs companies provide (259). Dysgraphia is caused by an issue between two main brain systems (Paquette 89). Some of the symptoms of dysgraphia may include cramped fingers, inconsistent formations and slants to letters, unfinished cursive writing, decreased speed of writing, and poor organization on the page (Richards 63). Net Neutrality In Internet Service Providers The concept of net neutrality is the fact that all internet service providers, or ISPs, have to treat all data on the internet the same, without regard to content, platform, etc(Wikipedia). The main purpose of this law is to prevent ISPs from executing abusive business practices that harm education and promote censorship. Without net neutrality ISPs would have control over the internetand what the consumers see. What this means is that companies can pay ISPs to be part of their service, and the companies that can t pay will be slowed down. Ultrasonic: Ultrasonic is science of acoustics dealing with generation and use of inaudible acoustic waves. The sound waves having frequencies ranging above 20KHZ up to several MHZ i.e. human audible ranges are called ultrasonic waves. The sound waves of low frequencies i.e. below human audible range are infrasonic waves. Like life, ultrasonic was originated from sea. The five senses of living beings i.e. hearing, touch, smell, sight and taste are interdependent on each other. Out of these five, two are important for long rang interaction i.e. sight and hearing and other three have short range performance. But these things are different under water because long range sight has no use under water. By default, sound waves have long range sensing functionality under water. The era of ultrasonic began with the wrecking of RMS Titanic which crashed with ice berg. The detection of ice berg was done by high frequency waves. In 1915 Langevin (the father of ultrasonic) invented the underwater SONAR for submarine detection. Sokolov suggested the concept of ultrasonic metal flaw detection in 1928. After that slow and steady progress was made in the measurement of propagation constant of material. The propagation of ultrasonic waves through solid material has been used to detect hidden cracks, porosity, voids and other discontinuities in metal. However, modern science and epidemiology allow us to break down the organisms that cause the illness in order to treat and prevent it. We can now understand the classification and type of organism as well as its life cycle. We can discover its mode of transmission and methods to diagnose it. By determining these factors, the future of the organism can be determined and lives can be saved. The matching structure of NDM 1 inhibits the effectiveness of the antibiotics that share the same chemical structure. Carbapenems are relatively new antibiotics that are used to treat organisms that have mutated and developed resistances to older antibiotics such as penicillins and cephalosporins. NDM 1 is further resistant to carbapenems because it secrets the enzyme carbapenemase. This secretion inhibits the antibiotics from synthesizing the bacteria s cell wall in order to disable the bacteria. It is concerning that NDM 1 already has a strong resistance to the more effective carbapenems. Unfortunately the life cycle for this organism is unknown as of yet. This uncertainty aids in making NDM 1 a threat to society. Once it is understood how NDM 1 bacteria are transmitted, the health threats associated with the organism can be diagnosed and treated more easily. NDM 1 is easily transmitted because it resides in the plasmids of the bacteria, which provides an ideal surface for horizontal gene transfer. Thus, NDM 1 can easily transfer from one bacterial strain to another or from one bacterial genus to another. Because the main strains of bacteria that produce NDM 1 (escherichia coli, klebsiella pneumoniae, and enterobacter cloacae) reside in the bowels if the body, the disease is often spread through fecal material. Studies on the affect of mothers going back to work have been varied and have thus for lead to interpretations of the results. The mothers and infants relationship has a central part in a lot of theories on an infants trust development. Freud s trust vs. miss trust theory is an example of this. Infants must learn to trust their caregivers to meet their needs. Responsive parenting is critical. (Pg 38, Life span and development, Text book). Animal Cruelty Is A Crime Against Humanity In order to constitute animal cruelty as a Crime Against Humanity we must prove that society is ignoring the violence towards them despite the research evidence, the government sanctions mass killings of them, and that this type of violence affects humans on a large scale (Plant, Schaik, Gullone, Flynn 2016). Although dispositional factors such as empathy and aggression may influence animal cruelty, we must look at the environmental factors that lead to the negative effects from a macro level perspective. In this analysis, I will review whether exposure to animal cruelty correlates with future maladaptive behaviors and the damaging effects it may have when perpetrated at a large scale. This proposes the idea of how actions of animal maltreatment are similar to actions of child or domestic violence. The second reason stated in the book Child Abuse, Domestic Violence, and Animal Abuse: Linking the Circles of Compassion for Prevention and Intervention, is that cowardly acts of aggression against vulnerable members of the family are matters of power and control. The victims can be of any size, age, gender, or species, it is simply a matter of the opportunity that presents itself (Ascione Arkow 1999). Lastly, the book Child Abuse, Domestic Violence, and Animal Abuse: Linking the Circles of Compassion for Prevention and Intervention, states that any act of aggression or violence within the entire family can put the members of that family at risk. The dangers of this violence may also reach out as far as the community and its children (Ascione Arkow 1999). An example of animal exploitation spilling over to other forms of violence is the relationship between animal violence and intimate partner violence. In a study done in April 2007, researchers asked both battered and non battered women to report whether their partner had any history of abusing their pets at home. Livy (2010, p.23) credits Romulus with founding Rome by the giving of laws, without which the creation of a unified body politic would not have been possible and the adoption of certain visible signs of power like the twelve lectors to attend him, the curule chair, purple bordered togas and the creation of the Senate. With the ulumas desire to purify Islam from the occult, and contemplating that talisman would lead to idolatry, surely then it would be inaccurate to conclusively claim that the occult science deteriorated during the MamlЕ«k period as has been the conventional historical paradigm. Michael Dols, through an analysis of numerous sources, has contended that the use of the occult science in Medieval Islam was more prevalent than previously acknowledged in the scholastic field. Al Saleh corroborates with Dols, by arguing that the continuous conquests in the name of Islam engendered an increase in Islamic magical beliefs, because cultural encounter and exchange were inevitable. Similarly, to the refutation of astrology, the discontentment shown towards talisman by the traditionalist implies that the practice and belief of talisman had reached levels of apprehension for the traditionalist. Before giving Fleur the Alder (or whatever herb she actually grabbed) steep, Pauline is captivated by her face: Fleur s eyes were closed. Her face was drained of color.
