Prokaryote Vs Eukaryotes
In studying microbiology we have learned that all living organisms have cells and these cells are the
basic units of structure in all organisms. Bacteria are microorganisms that cannot be seen with the
naked eye but they are all around. Bacteria are categorized to distinguish their contributions to the
world of science. Over the years microbiologist and scientist have studied bacteria and cells functions
within our environment. Prokaryote and Eukaryote are bacterial cells they have definite characteristic,
the anatomical difference between them will distinguish the cells functions.
Prokaryote is a single bacterial cell and they are recognized as the earliest form of life. These cells are
not complex cells because they do not have a nucleus,

Ill. METHODS
A. Subjects
This research study used a convenience sample. A total of 58 undergraduate students, 27 males, and 31
females, who were enrolled in basic Communication classes at a South Texas University, agreed to
participate in this study. Respondents were assured that their participation was anonymous and
notified that the professor for the respective class approved this study. Each male and female
respondent randomly assigned to one of the four self report rating scales. Demographic information of
the respondents such as sex, age, and year classification was asked but was not a qualification to be a
participant.
B. Design
The design of the experiment was a One Way ANOVA with four conditions. The independent
variables were sex of the subject (male, female) and sex of perceived partner (same, opposite). This
study is a full experimental posttest only equivalent group design assigning subjects randomly to one
of the four conditions established next.
Each condition has an instruction/scenario modified for the purpose of the study. Condition A requests

Lee, J., Lim, Y. (2014). Who says what about whom: Young voters impression formation of political
candidates on social networking sites. Mass Communication
Society, 17(4), 553 572. doi: 10.1018/015205436.2013.816743
Rationale or justification (page #: 553 555, 566 569)
This topic is important because it allows us to gauge people s perception and impressions of certain
cues in the web environment. The research will help researchers understand which cues communicate
to people better in the Internet environment. The topic is unknown as of now but can have significant
impacts down the road. This information can help sell products, help political candidates;
advertisements and the list can go on. We need to know more about this phenomenon because it will
help with out communication on the web truly works. We can find out which cues work and don t
while trying to communicate a certain message to people. The authors do not state that this study
advances the field of communication but it does get the conversation started about how the Internet
and communicating in this medium is very different from tradition communication face to face. The
authors claim that by researching cues this will further the advancement of how certain cues are used
political campaigns on the web. The study does not try to advance the theory but instead uses it
vigorously to show how it works in the study.

Freedom In A Caged Bird
In Maya Angelou s famous poem Caged Bird, she writes The caged bird sings of freedom. Although
Angelou was born many years after Jane Eyre became popular in the Victorian Age, Bronte s message
of finding one s independence when they are trapped in a situation or relationship has continued
throughout time. In Charlotte Brontё s Jane Eyre, bird imagery is used to represent the lack of freedom
that poor and low class Victorian woman like Jane had in their life but Bronte wanted to show through
Jane that with bravery, strength and money; women are able to fight becoming a caged bird and can
make a fulfilling and financially stable life on their own.
Jane was frequently treated like a bird trapped in a cage in her childhood home of Gateshead ... Show

Rochester believes throughout the whole novel that he is an expert at reading people which he tries to
prove by disguising himself as a gypsy fortune teller for Jane and his friends. Before this strange act
when Rochester and Jane have their first discussion, he tries to read Jane by saying at intervals the
glance of a curious sort of bird through the close set bars of a cage: a vivid, restless, resolute captive is
there; were it but free, it would soar cloud high. (263) Rochester describes Jane as a caged bird
wishing to be free because Jane is stuck teaching at Thornfield which is located far away from the
nearest town which magnifies Jane s feeling of isolation. Rochester sees that she could be powerful
which is why throughout Jane s time at Thornfield he is constantly trying to prove his dominance. As
much as Rochester tries to win over Jane, she resists him exclaiming I am no bird; and no net ensnares
me; I am a free human being with an independent will, which I now exert to leave you. (483) The
discovery of Bertha helps Jane to realize she could become a trapped and crazy woman if she stayed
with Rochester. This revelation helps Jane to break out of the cage that is Thornfield and soar cloud
high just like Rochester predicted. Fuller discusses both sides of Thornfield that Jane finds a great deal
of liberty in the grounds of Thornfield, but for Rochester they represent as much of a prison as Jane s
garden at Lowood. The irony of how one place can feel like home to one person but a prison to
another is demonstrated through Thornfield. Rochester has a part of his past that he is ashamed so he
hides it away in Thornfield while Jane begins to feel some freedom because she is finding a type of
family who cares for

The Pedestrian Essay
Utopia and dystopia:
Ray Bradbury s short story The Pedestrian
Ray Bradbury s short story The Pedestrian is a dramatic illustration of the dangers of living in a world
where contact with nature is deemed so abnormal that even walking alone at night is a crime. The
dystopian story revolves around the tale of a man named Leonard Mead, living during a time period
not so far away from our own, in 2053 CE. In the story, a robotic police car is so suspicious of Mead s
walking behavior during one pleasant night that he is taken away to a psychiatric hospital. In the new
world, desiring televised rather than real experience is considered normal. People only venture out
during the day when it is required for their work. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In many communities, walking behavior does appear to be unusual, because it looks so uncommon,
despite the natural physiological aspect of walking. Riding in a car is seen as more normal, just like a
robotic policeman is seen as more normal in the Bradbury story. Today, people do still walk, but often
on a moving conveyor belt at the gym, rather in a real environment. This takes people away from
nature and a sense of being part of something larger than themselves. Although Bradbury does not
specifically discuss the physical risks of inactivity, the nation s climbing obesity rate is clear evidence
of the fact that Americans are moving less and instead turning to sedentary pastimes to unwind. From
Bradbury s perspective in time, the dangers of television were the greatest risk posed to enjoying
hands on, real world activities. Today, there are even more varied sedentary distractions, spanning
from the Internet, to mobile phones, to video games. In the modern world, we are increasingly
categorized by our technological devices. Our cellphones, cars, and computers define our identities,
rather than our bodies. We are losing the ability to amuse ourselves in the outside world. But it is our
connection to nature, stripped of technology, which is essential to our individuality, not the programs
we watch on television or the appearance of our cellphones. Bradbury s dystopian story provides a
warning that is clearly not being heeded. Although we may have more technological

Social Class In The Victorian Era
Women s Social Class in the Victorian Era In the Victorian era women were held at a different
standard than the men in the Victorian era. In the novels of Jane Eyre and Tess of the d Urberville the
social class of the women was challenged by both leading ladies in the novels. Exploring both novels I
will you examples from both to show how social class effected women in the Victorian era. Beginning
with Jane Eyre, the novel itself is a critical of Victorian England s strict hierarchy. Bronte explores the
complex social placements of governesses which was the most prominent exploration of this theme.
Jane was a figure of an ambiguous class standing, and subsequently, a source of high tension for the
characters around her in the novel. Jane s overall mannerisms and education are those of high
standings, of those of aristocrat. A Victorian governesses, who tutored young children in life skills
such as etiquette and as well as academics; Jane was expected to embody the culture of the
aristocracy. However, as a paid employee she was more or less treated as servants; consequently Jane
remains broke and powerless while residing a Thornfield. Jane s understanding of the double
standards against her become clear when she accepts her feelings for Rochester. Jane is his
intellectual, but not social equal. Even before Rochester s big secret about Bertha Mason, Jane was
hesitant to marry him because she knew that she would feel like she owed him for condescending to
marry her. In chapter seventeen, Jane s distress appears to be a critique of the Victorian class attitudes.
Jane herself, as portrayed in the novel, is very vocal about speaking against class prejudice in
particular moments in the book. An example, in chapter twenty three she chews out Rochester: Do you
think, because I am poor, obscure, plain, and little, I am soulless and heartless? You think wrong! I
have as much soul as you and full as much heart! And if God had gifted me with some beauty and
much wealth, I should have made it as hard for you to leave me, as it is now for me to leave you.
Sadly it is important to state that nowhere in Jane Eyre are the society s boundaries bent. In the end the
Jane is only able to marry Rochester as her equal

Gastric Emptying Studies
What is a gastric emptying study? The definition of a gastric emptying study is a procedure that is
done by nuclear medicine physicians using radioactive chemicals that measures the speed with which
food empties from the stomach and enters the small intestine . What does it have to do with nuclear
medicine and radioactive elements? That s a good question. It has to do with radioactive elements
because the meal, liquid, or both are mixed with a little bit of radioactive material, than gamma rays
are placed over the subjects stomach to track the amount of radioactivity that decreases in the
stomach. Gastric emptying studies use radioactive elements by using radioactive material. What is a
radioactive tracer? Another good question. That is

If you compare the 1950 s to today you might say it is very different things like segregation, economy

everything is as equal as you might think it would be. This paper will focus on the comparisons and

The few differences given to compare today and the 1950 s drew a fine line between the Families and
economic markets. You might not think many things are still the same and that we are very equal all
round or people would rather live in the city but surprisingly not everything has changed completely.
Shockingly schools are still not given the equal opportunities as others similarly to the 1950 s school
motto of separate but equal, The Washington Post How bad are conditions in Detroit public schools?
This appalling. Says The gym is closed because half of the floor is buckled and the other half has
suffered so much damage from the dripping celling that it became covered with toxic black mold. Not
to mention the multiple other conditions but this inner city school still is being treated as a colored
school back then. A tale of two schools states The Mexican schools were typically housed in run down
buildings... shabbier books and equipment. That was back in the 1950 s and other observations in the
last article sound a lot alike as to the Mexican schools back then showing maybe not as much has
changed. Another Instance is suburbs, CBSnews.com said As home prices continue to rise, more
buyers will, move to the suburbs to find affordable housing. Likewise many young families did more

The Population Of Urban Areas
CHAPTER 1:INTRODUCTION According to census defined homeless as houseless households.
Households which do not live in buildings or census house but live in the open or roadside, pavement,
in Hume pipes, under fly over and staircase, or in the open in places of worship, man daps, railway
platform etc. Are treated as homeless households. Households living in dilapidated homes or
households without access to basic amenities, infrastructure or services apart from households with
too many members living under a single roof (congestion factor) should also be termed as homeless.
The census has found that between 2001 and 2011 homeless population in urban areas grew by 20.5%
but in rural areas it declined by 28.4%. Census 2011 has presented data on homeless household s size.
Most number of homeless households at the national level comprises single member households to be
followed by 7+ members households. The population of homeless in urban areas (9.4 lakhs) is more
than that in rural areas (8.3 lakhs). In India Uttar Pradesh (3.3 lakhs), Maharashtra (2.1 lakhs),
Rajasthan (1.8 lakhs), Madhya Pradesh (1.46 lakhs), Andhra Pradesh (1.45 lakhs), Gujarat (1.4 Lakhs)
are highest state for homeless people.(Decline in homeless population: Census data 2011) Homeless is

Somatic Marker Hypothesis
Part 1: research justification
Traditionally, decision making has been seen as a purely rational process involving a logical analysis
of the response options and their believed outcomes. However, the somatic marker hypothesis (SMH)
proposes that in situations where outcomes are uncertain, our decisions are guided by emotion rather
than reason. According to this hypothesis, physiological feedback from the body informs our
emotional experience, which in turn guides our decision making. Somatic Markers are formed when
the consequence of a particular response option evokes a set of physiological responses (e.g. increased
heart rate). These physiological responses become associated with the response option and thus mark
that option with emotional value. The next time this response option is encountered, the associated
physiological state is reactivated and will bias ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Sriram Engineering College 2L.Parimala, Assistant Professor, Dept. of ECE, Sriram Engineering
College, Chennai kp_vasu1@yahoo.com ABSTRACT: This Project deals with a fully parallel
Embedded Z source inverter to control the three phase induction motor. Z Source inverter is a single
stage converter which performs both buck boost energy conversions using the LC impedance network.
The further advancement in the Z Source inverter is the partially parallel Embedded Z Source inverter
that can produce same gain as Z Source inverter. Energy from the solar cell is taken as input to the EZ
source inverter. The ripple content of the solar cell output voltage is reduced using Parallel EZ Source
(PEZS) inverter. In order to overcome the drawbacks of PPEZS, Fully parallel EZ (FPEZS) Source
inverter is proposed. The proposed inverters provide high boost voltage inversion ability, a lower
voltage stress across the active switching devices, a continuous input current and a reduced voltage
stress on the capacitors. In addition, they can suppress the startup inrush current, which otherwise
might destroy the devices. The proposed system reduces six switch three phase inverter to four switch
three phase inverter. This makes system compact which reduces cost and switching losses, line
harmonics, improves power factor, reliability

Ordinary People and Family Systems
As you read you will learn information of the 1980 movie Ordinary People, the theory of family
systems, and how they relate to one another. I will describe some basic information about the movie as
well as key points that I feel will connect to the idea of family systems. I will also touch base on
strictly the theory of Family systems for a better understand of the characters and plot of the movie.
The movie, Ordinary People, is about a family that is currently suffering the unexpected death of their
son, Buck, due to a boating accident. Shortly after, their youngest son and now only child, Conrad,
tries to committee suicide by slitting his wrists, but was saved by his father, Calvin, who found him in
the bathroom. Conrad was with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The movie basically did a metaphorical domino affect, as you see the family slowly falling down.
Like I mentioned earlier when a family gains or losses a family member it is now considered a whole
new group. Sadly for the Jarrett family they lost a son and were now dealing with adjustments of
living, in a sense, as a new family. Calvin, the father, does a very good job staying positive but still
recognizing that something horrible happened to their family and things still need to be dealt with.
Beth seems to only worry about the material things as a form of a distraction. You see her focusing on
setting the silver just perfectly; worrying about what clothes her husband is going to wear, and she
worries more about making sure that what is happening inside the family stays between the family.
Conrad is emotionally going through a lot but tries his best to keep it inside. I think the way the Jarrett
family is trying to cope with their new group is a perfect example for how the behaviors in the family
will change because of one person. One of the first things that happens is when Conrad decides to start
seeing Dr. Berger. This brings a sense of relief to Calvin, and embarrassment to Beth. In one scene,
Calvin is talking to a friend about the progress Conrad is making

Vitamins are essential to your health. You only need very small quantities but if you

but even marginal intakes can cause subtle changes that affect your health today and your risk of
chronic disease tomorrow. An organic substance is classified as a vitamin if lack of it in the diet causes
symptoms that are relieved by adding it back to the diet. The fact that the vitamins we eat in food are
essential to health seems simple and obvious, but it was not always so. For

What Is Personal Branding And How Effective It Can Be For...
Define what your brand stands for, its core values and tone of voice, and then communicate
consistently in those terms (Mainwaring, n.d.). Personal branding is the message you intend to send to
others that is a reflection of you, your values, and what you stand for. Branding yourself is vital in the
business world today considering it can help you with, better opportunity discovery, better networking
career advancement, and better success. It can also develop and define you as a leader. From actors,

Also, understanding other people s perception of you speaks high volumes of your personal brand and
can help make you a successful leader. View your personal brand as a trademark; an asset that you
must protect while continuously molding and shaping it. Your personal brand is an asset that must be
managed with the intention of helping others benefit from having a relationship with you and / or by
being associated with your work and the industry you serve (Llopis, 2013).
Celebrities consult with marketing agents who uses three strategy efforts for personal branding. First,
the pure selling approach where an agent presents a client s qualifications to potential buyers until he
or she finds one who is willing to act as an intermediary (Solomon, Marshall, Stuart, 2016). Second,
the product improvement approach where an agent works with the client to modify certain
characteristics that will increase his or her market value (Solomon, Marshall, Stuart, 2016). And third,
the market fulfillment approach where an agent scans the market to identify unmet needs. After
identifying a need, the agent then finds a person or group that meets a set of minimum qualifications
and develops a new product (Solomon, Marshall, Stuart, 2016). Whether you use your personal brand
to consult, freelance, or drive more traffic and trust to your company, it s vitally important to establish

me in my faith in a lot of ways. Since I was traveling alone and meeting a team at the airport, I had to
be completely reliant on God to get me across the world safely. It was a little scary, but God was at
work from the very beginning of this trip. While in the Amsterdam airport I even met a whole

the land will be used as a home to over 200 refugee orphans from South Sudan. It was amazing to be

Legal Impacts Of Mortgage Loans
A.B. 468 was presented by Marcus Conklin, representing the Nevada Mortgage Lenders Association.
The purpose of this bill is to combine provisions related to the regulation of mortgage brokers and
mortgage bankers in NRS into a single chapter. As a result, both of these professions would be known
as Mortgage Loans Originators . The bill was originally in Ways and Means then referred to
Commerce and Labor and now back in Ways and Means. The original fiscal note submitted by the
Mortgage Lending Division was $27,700 less in annual renewal fees and indicated that the new
regulations would cost them around $10,000. There would not be a fiscal impact on the General fund
since the fees collected by the division would cover that expense. Conklin ... Show more content on

consequence, the PUC asserted that this would require two full time senior attorneys, a full time

there would require an additional $18,000 over the biennium for training expenditures. Chair Carlton
asked to confirm if these were General Fund dollars. Joe Reynolds, Chairman of the PUCN,
responded that Chair Carlton was correct and added that the dollars would be generated through the

Pillow Angel Case Study
PILLOW ANGEL The pillow angel is a reference to a child born with a mental disability and the
parent s ethics in taking care of this child. The term pillow angel is a name given to Ashley by her
family members (Amy Burkholder, 2007). Ashley was born with static encephalopathy which is a
severe brain impairment that leaves her unable to walk, talk, eat, sit up, or roll over (Hastings Report
Center, pg.16). The parents set a plan to secure the long term comfort ability of their daughter and
their ability to take care of her. Ashley s parents wanted to stunt her growth with hormones to retain
her small frame and reduce the chances of medical problems such as bedsores if she became too large
to move. This plan was called The Ashley Treatment . ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Automated Guided Vehicle Or Automatic Guided Vehicles
Automated Guidance
An automated guided vehicle or automatic guided vehicle (AGV) is essentially a vehicle that follows
markers or wires in the floor, or uses vision, magnets, or lasers for navigation. They are most often
used in industrial applications to move materials around a manufacturing facility or warehouse.
Application of the automatic guided vehicle has broadened during the late 20th century.
The AGV can tow objects behind them in trailers to which they can autonomously attach. The trailers
can be used to move raw materials or finished product. The AGV can also store objects on a bed. The
objects can be placed on a set of motorized rollers (conveyor) and then pushed off by reversing them.
AGVs are employed in nearly every industry, including, pulp, paper, metals, newspaper, and general
manufacturing. Transporting materials such as food, linen or medicine in hospitals is also done.
An AGV can also be called a laser guided vehicle (LGV). Lower cost versions of AGVs are often
called Automated Guided Carts (AGCs) and are usually guided by magnetic tape. AGCs are available
in a variety of models and can be used to move products on an assembly line, transport goods
throughout a plant or warehouse, and deliver loads.
Over the years, the technology has become more sophisticated, this technology can be suitably
adapted for cars on the streets. In an automated process, AGVs are programmed to communicate with
other cars on the street to ensure it is moving smoothly. Today, the

The Concept Of Emotional Branding
The concept of emotional branding refers to the relationship and connection people have with certain
brands. Built through strategic marketing and communications, brands have been able to develop
campaigns that shape attitudes of its audiences that drive decision making and behaviour. The concept
stems from the realization that many customers do not, in fact, make buying decisions through a
purely rational approach, focusing solely on the financials, and attributes of products, but rather, these
decisions are influences in large part by their emotions. While many purchasing decisions are certainly
influenced by the subconscious emotions of the consumer, emotional branding can also determine the
strength and length of a customer ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example, Volvo has historically focused its campaigns around it s superior safety features, but
with the advancement of technology in recent years, Volvo has been losing its position as a leader for
safe vehicles and its market share as a result. This is a great example of what could happen to an
automotive firm that focuses solely on the attributes of its vehicles and ignoring the potential of
emotional branding. There is little doubt that Volvo could have leveraged its position as a leader in
safety to develop strong emotional marketing communications and messaging, but it has failed to do
so, forcing the brand to rethink the way it positions itself relative to its competition.
Conversely, German automaker, BMW, has been successful at capturing the hearts and minds of
consumers through its Ultimate Driving Machine campaign which feature its vehicles driving through
opulent scenery with a focus on posh and luxurious interiors, suggesting that their cars are the ultimate
status of success and that working hard deserves to be rewarded with the best. Moreover, BMW s
commitment to post purchase service and customer experience (BMW offers owners Driver Training
where they can drive their cars around a closed track at ungodly speeds) has had significant returns,
with the brand experiencing the highest rates of repurchase of any luxury car brand. Similarly, VW s
Das Auto and Drivers Wanted campaigns, were wildly successful at attracting

Fear Of Death In The Epic Of Gilgamesh
It s a universal fact that everything dies and there is nothing you can do to stop it. Humans are no
exception. Most people are afraid of dying and the afterlife; whether it be for the fact that we have no
idea what the afterlife holds, they aren t ready to leave their loved ones behind, or the million of other
excuses that people give on their death beds. We can see that people have always been scared of dying
since the beginning of humankind. The Epic of Gilgamesh, is one of the earliest writings that humans
have, shows how panicked of dying and the afterlife they were back in the 2800 B.C.E., probably even
farther in the past. You can even see the fear of death in one of the world s best selling book: The
Bible particularly in the Old Testament.

Josh Lyon Mrs. Voshell Honors English 10 6 January 2017 Symbolism in The Scarlet Letter Within
The Scarlet Letter Hawthorne uses symbolism, the use of symbols to represent ideas (Bell 10),
affluently. The amount of symbolism Hawthorne uses could lead some to believe that The Scarlet
Letter is in fact an allegory. Nearly every object in Hawthorne s novel is symbolic. Hawthorne uses
everyday objects and places to symbolize many main themes, concepts, and ideas in the lives of
Hester and Pearl as well as multiple other main characters. Hester Prynne, the protagonist of the novel,
is a symbol for human morality and the frailty therein. In the second chapter, when the townswomen

In this way Chillingworth is a symbol for torture and punishment as well as revenge. Chillingworth
wants to bring his vengeance upon the paramour of Hester. This motive is reinforced when
Chillingworth states His fame, his position, his life will be in my hands. Beware! (Hawthorne 86).
Once Roger Chillingworth had found the good reverend they were living in the same house, as
Chillingworth was Arthur Dimmesdale s physician. Chillingworth had his suspicions about the
minister, but when he was certain Dimmesdale was the father to Hester s child he began to torment
Dimmesdale more than ever. Hawthorne writes of Chillingworth s thoughts He could play upon him
as he chose.Would he arouse him with a throb of agony?...Would he startle him with sudden fear?
(Hawthorne 155) Pearl is Hester s and Dimmesdale s daughter. She also symbolizes her mother s sin.
When Hester takes Pearl to Governor Bellingham, Dimmesdale says in Hester s defense ...for a
retribution too; a torture to be felt...an ever recurring agony...so forcibly reminding us of that red
symbol which sears her bosom? (Hawthorne 126). By this Dimmesdale means that Hester can never
forget her sin because Pearl will always be there as a constant reminder of Hester s past. When at the
Governor s mansion we can see Governor Billingham as he symbolizes purity as well as law and
order. The Reverend Wilson can also symbolize purity and law, as there was little to no separation of

What Skills Are Important In The Importance Of Phonemic...
1. Define phonemic awareness. What skills are important in the instruction of phonemic awareness?
a. Phonemic awareness is the ability to hear, isolate, identify, and manipulate the discrete sounds of
language, this only involves the sounds of speech and not the letters or words.
b. The skills important when instructing phonemic awareness are concepts of print,
recognizing/producing rhyme, syllable tasks, blending syllables, phonemic tasks and onset and rime
(word families). When instructing phonemic awareness, the reader should emphasize sounds and use
visual and oral instruction whenever possible, such as manipulatives.
2. Why is visualization such an important comprehension skill for readers? How can we teach
visualization to struggling readers?
a. Visualization, or mental imagery, helps students make a picture of the reading in their minds by
relating text to personal experiences from prior knowledge. Visualization is such an important
comprehension skill because students cannot remember what they are reading if they cannot picture
the story in their head. It would be similar to memorizing text and having no techniques to remember
the text. However, by visualizing, the reader is creating a personal connection with the text and
activating prior knowledge. Therefore, they are able to picture and recall what they are reading.
b. We can teach visualization to struggling readers, specifically students with disabilities, by having
them think about what they see, hear, smell,

The Reality Of The Lgbtq Community
I analyze these two pop culture productions because they are reflections of the current social political
setting in North America. Constituting and diminishing social boundaries, pop culture has wide
reaching influence to generate new sets of values and ideals in audiences (Fedorak 2009). Originating
in mainstream pop culture, discourses of gender and sexuality The Kids Are All Right and The Fosters
support homonormative politics, which privileges some lesbian mothers as intelligible over others. At
differing levels, the gender and motherhood ideals they contain ignore the diverse experiences of
lesbian motherhood. They appear progressive at face value, even queer at times, yet, they ultimately

Heteronormativity constructs heterosexual assumptions of gender and sex as an ideal and moral
imperative, cooperating with and sustaining systems of power (Berlant and Warner 1998; Sharma
1999). Systems of power create a hierarchy within heteronormativity, doling privilege to some and
marginalizing others. This hierarchy is present in homosexual communities as well. Norms within the
homosexual community marginalize other kids of sex, gender, and sexuality difference (Stryker 2008).
Using Butler s concept of gender performativity illustrates the way that repetitive performances of
gender leads to social coherency. Unable to attain heteronormative standards as lesbians, the couples
conform to heteronormative standards in several key ways. Through the promotion of a
homonormative domestic discourse, producers tame the otherwise deviant sexual subjects to render
them non threatening to a straight audience, with a broader political impact that depoliticizes and
demobilizes the LGBTQ population (Duggan 2002; Erhart 2013; Warner 2000). In adhering these key
standards of heterosexual culture, a homonormative portrayal of lesbian motherhood emerges.
Visually and conceptually, both couples replicate the heterosexual pattern of masculine and feminine
gender difference and the power difference it implies (Hammock 2009). Discourses of gender and
sexuality serve the sexual division of labour (Butler 1997, 272). It occurs within the

Branched Chain Amino Acid Research Paper
Branched chain amino acids help decrease exercise induced muscle damage, increase muscle recovery
and regulate protein synthesis. They are also very essential in reducing fatigue. This means that you
will be able to train at a higher intensity for a prolonged period.
The BCAA refer to a group of important amino acids which include leucine, isoleucine, and valine.
Though amino acids are the main building blocks of protein, which the body cannot produce. So the
BCAA amino acids must consumed as part of the daily diet.
Nearly all the proteins are made from the BCAAs. Researchers show that the BCAA S are mainly
leucine and handle regulating protein synthesis.

What you are supposed to know about the BCAA amino acids is that it can stimulate protein synthesis.
The BCAAs may also play a role in delaying central fatigue. When you ingest branched chain you
increase the amount in the bloodstream, helps in balancing the free tryptophan associated with the
exercise. The amino acids decrease the amount of tryptophan transported to the brain, ultimately
delaying fatigue.
There are a lot of benefits which are associated with consuming BCAAs during the various types of
exercise. Some of these training include strength training, endurance training, and general exercise.

Muscle Compensation Patterns
Your wrist hurts, now your bicep hurts, then your shoulder hurts, and you are now wondering why
your whole arm hurts. Muscle compensation happens when people hurt one muscle and they try to

  • 7. Freedom In A Caged Bird In Maya Angelou s famous poem Caged Bird, she writes The caged bird sings of freedom. Although Angelou was born many years after Jane Eyre became popular in the Victorian Age, Bronte s message of finding one s independence when they are trapped in a situation or relationship has continued throughout time. In Charlotte Brontё s Jane Eyre, bird imagery is used to represent the lack of freedom that poor and low class Victorian woman like Jane had in their life but Bronte wanted to show through Jane that with bravery, strength and money; women are able to fight becoming a caged bird and can make a fulfilling and financially stable life on their own. Jane was frequently treated like a bird trapped in a cage in her childhood home of Gateshead ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Rochester believes throughout the whole novel that he is an expert at reading people which he tries to prove by disguising himself as a gypsy fortune teller for Jane and his friends. Before this strange act when Rochester and Jane have their first discussion, he tries to read Jane by saying at intervals the glance of a curious sort of bird through the close set bars of a cage: a vivid, restless, resolute captive is there; were it but free, it would soar cloud high. (263) Rochester describes Jane as a caged bird wishing to be free because Jane is stuck teaching at Thornfield which is located far away from the nearest town which magnifies Jane s feeling of isolation. Rochester sees that she could be powerful which is why throughout Jane s time at Thornfield he is constantly trying to prove his dominance. As much as Rochester tries to win over Jane, she resists him exclaiming I am no bird; and no net ensnares me; I am a free human being with an independent will, which I now exert to leave you. (483) The discovery of Bertha helps Jane to realize she could become a trapped and crazy woman if she stayed with Rochester. This revelation helps Jane to break out of the cage that is Thornfield and soar cloud high just like Rochester predicted. Fuller discusses both sides of Thornfield that Jane finds a great deal of liberty in the grounds of Thornfield, but for Rochester they represent as much of a prison as Jane s garden at Lowood. The irony of how one place can feel like home to one person but a prison to another is demonstrated through Thornfield. Rochester has a part of his past that he is ashamed so he hides it away in Thornfield while Jane begins to feel some freedom because she is finding a type of family who cares for ... • 9. The Pedestrian Essay Utopia and dystopia: Ray Bradbury s short story The Pedestrian Ray Bradbury s short story The Pedestrian is a dramatic illustration of the dangers of living in a world where contact with nature is deemed so abnormal that even walking alone at night is a crime. The dystopian story revolves around the tale of a man named Leonard Mead, living during a time period not so far away from our own, in 2053 CE. In the story, a robotic police car is so suspicious of Mead s walking behavior during one pleasant night that he is taken away to a psychiatric hospital. In the new world, desiring televised rather than real experience is considered normal. People only venture out during the day when it is required for their work. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In many communities, walking behavior does appear to be unusual, because it looks so uncommon, despite the natural physiological aspect of walking. Riding in a car is seen as more normal, just like a robotic policeman is seen as more normal in the Bradbury story. Today, people do still walk, but often on a moving conveyor belt at the gym, rather in a real environment. This takes people away from nature and a sense of being part of something larger than themselves. Although Bradbury does not specifically discuss the physical risks of inactivity, the nation s climbing obesity rate is clear evidence of the fact that Americans are moving less and instead turning to sedentary pastimes to unwind. From Bradbury s perspective in time, the dangers of television were the greatest risk posed to enjoying hands on, real world activities. Today, there are even more varied sedentary distractions, spanning from the Internet, to mobile phones, to video games. In the modern world, we are increasingly categorized by our technological devices. Our cellphones, cars, and computers define our identities, rather than our bodies. We are losing the ability to amuse ourselves in the outside world. But it is our connection to nature, stripped of technology, which is essential to our individuality, not the programs we watch on television or the appearance of our cellphones. Bradbury s dystopian story provides a warning that is clearly not being heeded. Although we may have more technological ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 10. Social Class In The Victorian Era Women s Social Class in the Victorian Era In the Victorian era women were held at a different standard than the men in the Victorian era. In the novels of Jane Eyre and Tess of the d Urberville the social class of the women was challenged by both leading ladies in the novels. Exploring both novels I will you examples from both to show how social class effected women in the Victorian era. Beginning with Jane Eyre, the novel itself is a critical of Victorian England s strict hierarchy. Bronte explores the complex social placements of governesses which was the most prominent exploration of this theme. Jane was a figure of an ambiguous class standing, and subsequently, a source of high tension for the characters around her in the novel. Jane s overall mannerisms and education are those of high standings, of those of aristocrat. A Victorian governesses, who tutored young children in life skills such as etiquette and as well as academics; Jane was expected to embody the culture of the aristocracy. However, as a paid employee she was more or less treated as servants; consequently Jane remains broke and powerless while residing a Thornfield. Jane s understanding of the double standards against her become clear when she accepts her feelings for Rochester. Jane is his intellectual, but not social equal. Even before Rochester s big secret about Bertha Mason, Jane was hesitant to marry him because she knew that she would feel like she owed him for condescending to marry her. In chapter seventeen, Jane s distress appears to be a critique of the Victorian class attitudes. Jane herself, as portrayed in the novel, is very vocal about speaking against class prejudice in particular moments in the book. An example, in chapter twenty three she chews out Rochester: Do you think, because I am poor, obscure, plain, and little, I am soulless and heartless? You think wrong! I have as much soul as you and full as much heart! And if God had gifted me with some beauty and much wealth, I should have made it as hard for you to leave me, as it is now for me to leave you. Sadly it is important to state that nowhere in Jane Eyre are the society s boundaries bent. In the end the Jane is only able to marry Rochester as her equal ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The definition of a gastric emptying study is a procedure that is done by nuclear medicine physicians using radioactive chemicals that measures the speed with which food empties from the stomach and enters the small intestine . You might not think many things are still the same and that we are very equal all round or people would rather live in the city but surprisingly not everything has changed completely. Shockingly schools are still not given the equal opportunities as others similarly to the 1950 s school motto of separate but equal, The Washington Post How bad are conditions in Detroit public schools? This appalling. Says The gym is closed because half of the floor is buckled and the other half has suffered so much damage from the dripping celling that it became covered with toxic black mold. Households which do not live in buildings or census house but live in the open or roadside, pavement, in Hume pipes, under fly over and staircase, or in the open in places of worship, man daps, railway platform etc. Are treated as homeless households. Households living in dilapidated homes or households without access to basic amenities, infrastructure or services apart from households with too many members living under a single roof (congestion factor) should also be termed as homeless. The census has found that between 2001 and 2011 homeless population in urban areas grew by 20.5% but in rural areas it declined by 28.4%. Census 2011 has presented data on homeless household s size. Most number of homeless households at the national level comprises single member households to be followed by 7+ members households. The population of homeless in urban areas (9.4 lakhs) is more than that in rural areas (8.3 lakhs). In India Uttar Pradesh (3.3 lakhs), Maharashtra (2.1 lakhs), Rajasthan (1.8 lakhs), Madhya Pradesh (1.46 lakhs), Andhra Pradesh (1.45 lakhs), Gujarat (1.4 Lakhs) are highest state for homeless people.(Decline in homeless population: Census data 2011) Homeless is a provisional condition that individuals fall into when they can t stand to pay for a spot to live, or when their present home is dangerous or unsteady. • 14. Somatic Marker Hypothesis Part 1: research justification Traditionally, decision making has been seen as a purely rational process involving a logical analysis of the response options and their believed outcomes. However, the somatic marker hypothesis (SMH) proposes that in situations where outcomes are uncertain, our decisions are guided by emotion rather than reason. According to this hypothesis, physiological feedback from the body informs our emotional experience, which in turn guides our decision making. Somatic Markers are formed when the consequence of a particular response option evokes a set of physiological responses (e.g. increased heart rate). These physiological responses become associated with the response option and thus mark that option with emotional value. DESIGN OF FPEZ SOURCE NETWORK WITH REDUCED SWITCHES FED INDUCTION MOTOR K.Vasudevan1 and L.Parimala2 1Research scholar (PT) Assistant Professor, Dept. of EEE, Sriram Engineering College 2L.Parimala, Assistant Professor, Dept. of ECE, Sriram Engineering College, Chennai kp_vasu1@yahoo.com ABSTRACT: This Project deals with a fully parallel Embedded Z source inverter to control the three phase induction motor. Z Source inverter is a single stage converter which performs both buck boost energy conversions using the LC impedance network. The further advancement in the Z Source inverter is the partially parallel Embedded Z Source inverter that can produce same gain as Z Source inverter. Energy from the solar cell is taken as input to the EZ source inverter. The ripple content of the solar cell output voltage is reduced using Parallel EZ Source (PEZS) inverter. In order to overcome the drawbacks of PPEZS, Fully parallel EZ (FPEZS) Source inverter is proposed. The proposed inverters provide high boost voltage inversion ability, a lower voltage stress across the active switching devices, a continuous input current and a reduced voltage stress on the capacitors. In addition, they can suppress the startup inrush current, which otherwise might destroy the devices. The proposed system reduces six switch three phase inverter to four switch three phase inverter. This makes system compact which reduces cost and switching losses, line harmonics, improves power factor, reliability ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Like I mentioned earlier when a family gains or losses a family member it is now considered a whole new group. Sadly for the Jarrett family they lost a son and were now dealing with adjustments of living, in a sense, as a new family. Calvin, the father, does a very good job staying positive but still recognizing that something horrible happened to their family and things still need to be dealt with. Beth seems to only worry about the material things as a form of a distraction. You see her focusing on setting the silver just perfectly; worrying about what clothes her husband is going to wear, and she worries more about making sure that what is happening inside the family stays between the family. Conrad is emotionally going through a lot but tries his best to keep it inside. I think the way the Jarrett family is trying to cope with their new group is a perfect example for how the behaviors in the family will change because of one person. One of the first things that happens is when Conrad decides to start seeing Dr. Berger. This brings a sense of relief to Calvin, and embarrassment to Beth. Automated Guided Vehicle Or Automatic Guided Vehicles Automated Guidance An automated guided vehicle or automatic guided vehicle (AGV) is essentially a vehicle that follows markers or wires in the floor, or uses vision, magnets, or lasers for navigation. They are most often used in industrial applications to move materials around a manufacturing facility or warehouse. Application of the automatic guided vehicle has broadened during the late 20th century. The AGV can tow objects behind them in trailers to which they can autonomously attach. The trailers can be used to move raw materials or finished product. The AGV can also store objects on a bed. The objects can be placed on a set of motorized rollers (conveyor) and then pushed off by reversing them. AGVs are employed in nearly every industry, including, pulp, paper, metals, newspaper, and general manufacturing. Transporting materials such as food, linen or medicine in hospitals is also done. Systems of power create a hierarchy within heteronormativity, doling privilege to some and marginalizing others. This hierarchy is present in homosexual communities as well. Norms within the homosexual community marginalize other kids of sex, gender, and sexuality difference (Stryker 2008). Using Butler s concept of gender performativity illustrates the way that repetitive performances of gender leads to social coherency. Unable to attain heteronormative standards as lesbians, the couples conform to heteronormative standards in several key ways.
