In this paper, we describe the four main groups comprising the most widely used company valuation
methods: balance sheet based methods, income statement based methods, mixed methods, and cash
flow discounting based methods. The methods that are conceptually correct are those based on cash
flow discounting. We will briefly comment on other methods since even though they ... Show more

Value should not be confused with price, which is the quantity agreed between the seller and the buyer
in the sale of a company. This difference in a specific company s value may be due to a multitude of
reasons. For example, a large and technologically highly advanced foreign company wishes to buy a
well known national company in order to gain entry into the local market, using the reputation of the
local brand. In this case, the foreign buyer will only value the brand but not the plant, machinery, etc.
as it has more advanced assets of its own. However, the seller will give a very high value to its
material resources, as they are able to

The Positive And Negative Influences Of Reality Shows
The purpose of this source is to measure the positive and negative influences of reality television
programs on preteen and adolescent girls whom age ranges from eleven to seventeen years old. In this
source, many studies are conducted to observe the behavior of the adolescent girls after they watched
reality shows. For example, researchers found that if adolescent girls watched cosmetic surgery reality
shows, they would have higher disordered eating attitudes than others would. On the contrary, some
investigators discovered cosmetic surgery reality programs could in fact bring positive influence to
teenage girls by letting them to know the benefits of cosmetic surgery. Therefore, researchers conclude
young adults are more willing to change their appearance through cosmetic surgery after they have
seen cosmetic surgery reality shows and that proves positive outcomes indeed exits in reality shows.
Another study is created to examine the realness of reality television shows. It is implemented because
people are becoming concern that reality shows are often scripted and they do not necessary indicate
reality. Although the source does not explicitly explain why people s perception of the realness of
reality show is important, it reveals if a reality television has an impact on viewers behavior, then
these shows will be considered as real. Based on these studies, researchers conclude the category of
each reality show will determine whether there is a positive or negative

Organizational Behavior Theory
1 INTRODUCTION There are a few factors that determine an individual s well being as essential as
income. Income is paramount to live a sufficient lifestyle for self and those who are dependent on us.
Income is a stable aspect of job to the workers, organizations and the society in general. Income has
huge role to play in determining the behaviors, attitude and perceptions of individuals in an
organization and this can be a major driver of organization behavior. Using utility theory, in particular
the concepts of marginal utility and marginal rate of substitution the author analyzes how the job
satisfaction and wages of family employees differ from those of regular employees. The objective is to
infer that the family employees have more job satisfaction than regular employees while receiving
lower wages. Income can cause both positive and negative affect work and family balance. The effects
of income has not been widely discussed as one of the major contributor to organizational behavior
topic and instead topics such as monetary incentives and pay for performance schemes have been
documented exhaustively. Finally, some (e.g. Lea Webley, 2006) have argued that the psychology of
money is a visceral one, exhibiting similarities to the effects of other visceral influences on human
behavior such as hunger and thirst and, as Loewenstein (1996) notes, visceral influences are often
underestimated by individuals, partly because people tend to forget how important they were in

Roadrunner Research Paper
The world is full of birds designed by God to survive. Some birds live in water, some in air and some
on land. One of the birds that live on land is the roadrunner. The roadrunner can be found throughout
Texas and the surrounding areas. A lot of people that watch the Road Runner cartoon have an idea of
what a road runner is that may not be true. For instance, the road does not have a long slender neck
and is not purple. It is also not a huge or tall bird. The roadrunner s speed, physical appearance and
diet make them a well designed bird for survival in the desert.
Roadrunners are very fast running birds with a speed of at least 15mph. They got their name from
being seen running along the road in front of horse drawn vehicles. They are faster than bicycles and
can catch prey easily. When they run they hand their head low so that it s head and wings are parallel
with the ground to help them run faster. They use their tail for balance and turning and to help them
stop. The long tail is perfect for balance and can help the roadrunner dodge a carnivorous bird s grasp
easily. The road runner also uses its speed to catch prey when hunting. For example, when it sees a ...

White stripes will be seen if looked up closely. Male roadrunners have a patch of blue and red skin
behind the eyes. This gives them the appearance of a bigger eye. Even though the males have the
patch of skin the males and the females look similar. The feathers of males can differ from the
females, and also the males have the crest on their head. The dark brown feathers help them
camouflage. All roadrunners have two toes on each side of their feet; two toes point forward and two
toes point backward. They are part of the perching bird family. The size of the roadrunner is 2ft. long

Introduction
In 1969, Novo Nordisk, which had been produced poor quality detergent, had a serious issue about the
safety of the customer. Generally speaking, a company s reputation which has significant influence
over a profit is much more important than an amount of money that a company needs to spend on
cleaning up pollution. Despite being at a competitive disadvantage, the company has decided that it is
better to disclose environmental reporting to be more transparent on social. In regards to the
philosophy of Novo Nordisk, the company s value reflects its business environment, social
responsibility and medical innovation which can be known as The value of the Triple Bottom Line

Eccles; Michael P. Krzus (2013). The company, which used indicator, 2004 data, expected that carbon
emission would be dropped dramatically by 10% in the next 10 years. Even though the report
represented that greenhouse gas emission in Diabetes cares in 2013 as compared to 2010 increased by
30,000 tons (from 95,000 tons to 125,000 tons), the amount of emission decreased of 42% in
comparison to 2004. In spite of accelerating rates of sales growth in Diabetes care over 10 years, Novo
Nordisk could imitate the environmental issue and achieve its main objective for reducing the amount
of carbon emission about 10%. In 2012, it was expected that energy consumption stood at 6% in 2013.
After being analyzed, it can be seen that there was a 6% rise in energy consumption, which increased
from 2,433 gigajoules in 2012 to 2,572 gigajoules in 2013.
Assessing the performance of Novo Nordisk in 2013 and 2014, net sales increased slightly by 6% but
the amount of carbon emission dropped by 4% from 125,000 tons to 120,000 tons because of reducing
system power consumption and having changed the filling plant which become more environmentally
friendly methods. It is clear to say that both carbon emission and energy efficiency met its common
target which was slightly better than in 2013.

Graduation Speech On The Forgotten Art Of Online Games
During my senior year, I didn t care about my classes because I had already been accepted to a few
colleges of my choice, so I slacked off because I thought I was done with highschool. All I thought I
needed to do was maintain my current grades. Because I slacked off, I did not research for my
research project. A few months went by and I saw my classmates working on their projects, while I
drifted into the abyss alone like the restless wind and the endless ocean wave. I did not know what to
do nor where to start. One of those drifting day I was playing an online MOBA(multiplayer online
battle arena) game called League of Legends with a few close friends. Then, it clicked. I finally got
the idea for my project. Deep in my heart, I know that I am a gamer. Therefore, I must follow my
nature and bring out the forgotten art of online games. smoke wee The Senior Project is a graduation
requirements in my high school. In order to pass this graduation project, I needed to meet a certain
requirement in the project. A successful senior project must contains a presentation, a research paper, a
portfolio. A Senior Project in my high school can be anything from a community service or an
academic research. However, I witness many of my peers working on their community services for
senior project that they have no interest in, and I feel like they re torturing themselves to get a good

All I Ever Wanted, By Greg Alan Isakov
If the chaotic hustle of New York City sets the pace for a typical episode of girls, the slow and simple
beach in Montauk certainly changes that. The change of pace, enhanced by a winning soundtrack and
strong acting jobs, makes All I Ever Wanted, an intriguing and exciting season premier.
The episode begins to the song Amsterdam by Greg Alan Isakov, the perfect hopeful and calming song
to set the tone for the episode to come. The main characters are reading, and reacting to, Hannah s
recently published article. After a long break from girls, I was excited to see where each character

The two sat on the beach and discussed there out looks on life. The setting was beautiful, and Hannah
acknowledges this. The music, My Sweet Lord by George Harrison, sets the scene. Hannah Horvath,
who flashed her vagina to the principle of the school she worked just one season ago, seemed to be
acting like an adult women. God, I was so ready to hate this, said Hannah to the surf instructor.
Dunham does an amazing job playing Hannah as calm and collected, perhaps the most collected we ve
seen her in the past 5 seasons.
A season premier should give a preview of whats to come, it should be exciting, it should be
intriguing. The season 6 premier of Girls, the series final premier, managed to do all that in a subtle
way, very appropriate to the show. It does not end with a drastic cliffhanger or a surprising revelation:
it shows evidence of characters maturing.
Through the past five seasons of Girls we ve watched as every character made terrible design after
terrible decision, and the over arching theme was that each decision was born out of immaturity. If
loyal viewers of Girls deserve one thing in the final season for making it through this journey, its to
watch the characters grow up. At least a little

##otional And Psychological Blindness In Raymond Carver s...
Being blind manifest itself in a lot of ways. The most harmful type of this condition may be figurative
blindness of one s own situations and ignorance towards the feelings of others. Within Raymond
Carver s short story Cathedral, the narrator s emotional and psychological blindness is at once
obvious. The narrator faces many issues as well as the turn around experienced at the culmination of
the tale are the main ideas for the theme of this story; and these ideas aid the narrator in eventually
develop the character transformation by simply regarding the literal blind man in a positive light.
The narrators statement at the very beginning of the story explains his own lack of knowledge about
physical blindness. His lack of knowledge relating to the visitor s disability is not deniable, yet he
makes it very clear that he is aware of his ignorance, saying that he was not happy about his visit. He
was no one I knew. And his being blind bothered me. My idea of blindness came from the movies. In
the movies, the blind moved slowly and never laughed. Sometimes seeing eye dogs led them. A blind
man in my house was not something I looked forward to. (90) These statements explain his entire
attitude about Robert, the house guest, and other blind people in general at the onset of the story,
giving the narrator an instant feeling of exactly who the narrator and even what he may turn out to be.
While there are many undertones concerning other things about which he is

The Wannsee Conference
The final solution, as outline in the Wannsee Conference, was anything but vague. Until this point, it
wasn t officially outlined as to what the goal of the Nazi regime was. However, through the displays of
propaganda seen in previous stages thought this paper, it is clear what their intentions were. The extent
of the implementation, as discussed at the Wannsee conference, as outlined by the Nazi regime was
meant for the soul purpose of eliminating the Jews from German society, whether that was by mass
immigration, deportations, and/or killings. There are, of course, other examples of this seen. One of
these examples includes the form of newspapers such as Der Strümer (an anti Semitic newspaper). As

members and conspirators with the Nazi party of Germany. This ties together the two ideas mentioned

governing entity in stage three. These two very early stages of genocide have escalated into mass
bouts of organized violence and you can still see the results of propaganda on the yellow arm bands

The Current State Of Cybersecurity
A review of the current state of cybersecurity Cyberysecurity is the hot topic of talks among
governmental agencies, businesses, individuals, and the global community as a whole. Recent high
profile attacks, such as Target, Sony, SWIFT, and the US government, has brought great attention and
awareness to this topic. The White House has been raising awareness on its website with an article

understand and know the system and outsiders who want to spy, steal, or do harm. The hackers can be
an organized group such as government sponsored, professional hackers, or just an ordinary amateur
who wish to make a name for himself. Who are the targets? The targets depends on the intent of the

AFF Or Out Of Love In Sarajevo By Fay Weldon
Is it possible to blame the death of millions of people on one single individual? Many may respond
with a simple yes, while others will respond with a there has to be more to it. One specific case was
the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand; an assassination that initiated World War I. This
further leads one to assume a couple questions. For one, if the Archduke remained alive would the war
still have happened? And if that was the case, would forty million people still have died? A simple
response may be: it would happen sooner or later (177). In the Short Story, IND AFF or out of love in
Sarajevo , Fay Weldon tells the story of a young college student on vacation in Sarajevo with her
married history professor. While waiting for their food wild boar to be served, they have a
conversation about the city s history. This happens to be the place where Archduke Franz Ferdinand
and his wife were assassinated by Gavrilo Princip. The setting of the story, both past and present,
reveals the symbolic and metaphoric concepts made by the author. Weldon s intelligent use of the

In fact, the marriage is already full of complications. It can be characterized as the wet road in the
story. The wet road is the river that can run so shallow in the summer, (173) but while the narrator is in

marriage is slippery and has enough problems of its own. Almost anything at this point can cause

Some children were deformed or crippled because of working with the machines. The children had no
other choice, if their parents were poor; they needed to help bring money into the family. The orphans

The Poor Law made in 1834 was the Victorian answer to dealing with the poor. The Poor Law created
regional workhouses where aid could be applied for. The workhouses were little more than a prison
for the poor. Freedom was denied, families were separated and human dignity was destroyed. The true
poor often went to great lengths to avoid this relief. Charles Dickens applied his unique power of
observation to the city, in which are expressed in his novels. His description of 19th century

is a business man. Unfortunately that is all he cares about. He thinks
Christmas is a humbug and that if the poor don t want to go to prison or to the workhouses, they had
better die and decrease the surplus population. On this Christmas Eve, Scrooge was visited by his very

Causes Of The Obstacles In The Odyssey
Everyone faces struggles at some point in their life, no matter if you are a hero from an old mythical
story or a modern day person living in Iowa. Even though the struggles faced by Odysseus and me are
different, they have a common overlapping theme that ties them together. Which causes them in turn
to be in fact very comparable. Both Odysseus and I face obstacles such as temptation, laziness, and
distraction. Although his obstacles come from his want to go back home to Ithaca, mine are from my
desire to live a happy and healthy lifestyle.
Temptation, sin or not? Depending on who you ask it may or may not be. Temptation can come in any
form. It sidetracks people from whatever their individual goal is and draws them to do something that
isn t the best for them. Odysseus and I both face temptation in different ways. For him it is his struggle

faces laziness at its most extreme. The lotus flowers cause people to magically lose their longing for
home. Sailors don t have much control over their laziness, for it was forced upon them by way of
magic lotus flowers from the natives. My troubles with laziness come from giving up because
something is too hard , when really I just am being lazy. It causes me to not work as hard as I should
to achieve my goal of having a happy and healthy lifestyle. Laziness in Odysseus story and mine are
similar because we both lose the lust for our goal. Luckily we can both overcome laziness with hard

Briony In Ian Mcewan s Atonement
Storytellers are the God of their universe. Seeking atonement for them is nearly impossible without
belief in a higher being. In Ian McEwan s novel Atonement, Briony, a 13 year old fanciful storyteller,
misjudges a series of events that have repercussions on the lives of others. Consequently, she spends a
lifetime attempting atonement through storytelling. Brian Finney explains that Briony attempts to use
fiction to correct the errors that fiction caused her to commit (69). Briony s obsession with fiction
assists her in entering the minds of others and therefore attempting atonement for something that
cannot be reversed. In Joe Wright s adaptation of Ian McEwan s novel Atonement, he manipulates

McEwan explain Briony s though process on writing: To enter a mind and show it at work, or being
worked on, and to do this within a symmetrical design this would be an artistic triumph (265). Briony
is obsessed with writing a new kind if fiction where entering other people s minds is a success. Wright
stays true to this idea by changing the setting of London 1999. Instead of attending her birthday party,
Briony attends a TV interview discussing her book because most of London 1999 comes from inside
Briony s head so the TV interview gives Briony the opportunity to share her thoughts. In this
interview, all the pieces finally come together as Briony reveals the truth that she made up their
thoughts. Wright stays true the heart of the novel because Briony gives Robbie and Cecilia their
happiness by writing from their points of view. Briony explains in the novel: I like to think that it isn t

How Does Love And Hate Intertwine
In Emily Bronte s novel Wuthering Heights she conveys that love and hate intertwine; she does this
through Heathcliff s relationships with Catherine, Isabella, and Nelly. Bronte uses Heathcliff and
Catherine s relationship to show how hate and love can be felt at the same time. She uses Isabella s
relationship to show how love and hate are not always a two way street. Finally she uses Nelly s
relationship to show how quickly love and hate can flip flop. Heathcliff and Catherine s relationship
shows how love and hate intertwine because they both love each other, but also betray each other
many times and even marry other people. Bronte shows this concept when Heathcliff confesses his

quickly corrects this idea by remembering how she has seen him grow up and all of the struggle he has
had to deal with such as Catherine wounding him by marrying someone else. This quote is a great

How Did Ww1 Affect Australian Society
World War 1 was the first war that involved the majority of the world including Australia. It ran from
1914 to 1918 and was held in various places spread across Europe. Over 60,000 Australians lost their
lives which was over 1 percent of the population at this time. As you can imagine, this had a
tremendous impact on the home front. The war did contributed a variety of positive and negative
influences to the civilian population of Australia. The main aspects that received dramatic changes due

Conscription is the idea of compulsory enlistment for a state service, typically into the armed forces.
The controversy between pro and anti conscription divided the Australian population during the course

Propaganda played a large role in pressuring men into enlisting. An example of where propaganda
pressured men into volunteering for the Australian Imperial Force, is Appendix 1. The motive of this
poster is successful as it implies that fathers would be shameful to ignore the plight of women as well
as, promoting a sense of guilt. Anti conscription propaganda also depicted or appealed to women. For
instance, anti conscriptionists would call a vote for conscription, a blood vote, reminding women they
were possibly sending men to their deaths. This strategy of manipulating people s emotions proved to
work as in Dec 1917, the 2nd referendum on conscription rejected it. This debate influenced the
entirety of Australian society as citizens were bombarded with propaganda and the opinions of others.
At the beginning of the war the Federal Government gained great jurisdiction through the War

The Pursuit Of Freedom And Justice There Was A Hurricane
In the Pursuit of Freedom and Justice there was a Hurricane
In times of national discontent and social injustice, music is one of the leading forms of rebellion and
storytelling. In 1975, Bob Dylan contributed to this rebellious storytelling narrative by creating
Hurricane a song about the wrongful imprisonment of middleweight fighter Rubin Hurricane Carter.
There is a common idea that the issues we face do not have the same magnitude the issues our
predecessors faced. By assuming this idea, the implications of similar issues are ignored. The
importance of this comparison relies on the magnitude of their influence. Their songs enlightened a
variety of people about the daily dealings of corruption within our nation and enforced the need to
fight for one another when the system proved treat the members of the society unfairly. The song
Freedom by Beyoncé Knowles Carter created in 2016 discusses current struggles that African
Americans are facing by being reduced to stereotypes that prevent unity and fairness and even
includes a verse performed by rapper Kendrick Lamar specifying instances of racial tension that have
affected him. Though both songs are written about wrongful imprisonment the purpose of their songs,
the intended audience, and the use of expression differ. The contrast between the songs only elevate
the notion that no two issues are exactly alike. After each song was created the awareness of wrongful
imprisonment has accounted to the fight for justice

To what extent does environment play an important role in character s behaviour towards others?
Books: Great Expectations, Charles Dickens, 1861 Lord of the Flies, William Golding, 1954
Environment is a vital factor in determining the behaviour of characters; the books both agree and
contradict with each other though. William Golding is of the view that humans share an innate evil: he
strips boys of the order of society; he places them in a primitive environment; and in the subsequent
story, their conduction descends from that of being civilised into that of evil chaos. He employs
Simon, a boy of rare quality, to illustrate this by having him realise that the beast is not real, it exists
only inside us . Charles Dickens writes about the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, as time goes on and civilisation seems further away, as hope and want of being rescued
fades, their system degenerates. The ever present violence succeeds peace: originally it starts of as
being a game, Ralph returned as a fighter plane, with wings swept back, and machine gunned Piggy ;
when they eventually hunt their first pig, Jack boasts, You should have seen the blood! ; the boys kill
Simon in a frenzied ritual dance, even Jack and Piggy are not innocent as they too were present though
they try to forget it; Piggy is killed; then Ralph is hunted like an animal, by the savages of Jack s
dictatorship, he only survives because he runs into the British Navy on the beach. In Great
Expectations, Pip is an innocent boy to start off with. The reader sympathises him, from the outset he
is identified as an orphan and Mrs. Joe, his sister who many adults keep spitefully reminding Pip
brought [him] up by hand , abuses him. She is always shouting at him and punishes him with things
such as the Tickler. Pip is also berated at the Christmas dinner: Mrs. Hubble asked, Why is it that the
young are never grateful? This moral mystery seemed too much for the company until Mr. Hubble
tersely solved it by saying, Naterally wicious.

Digital Pedagogy Essay
Currently we live in an era driven by information, global competition and new technologies that are
changing the way we think, live and work. (Pillay, Boulton Lewis Wilss 2004, p.17). This conveys the
notion that technology has manipulated the minds of today s generation in every way possible, could
be during schooling and non schooling life. Hence in order for one s teaching style to go successful
one should teach in accordance to the characteristics of the generation they re teaching as today s
generation requires a digital pedagogy. Furthermore this essay scrutinizes how the characteristics of
the 21st century and the digital world will influence the type of teacher one hopes to become. As well
as it examines on the construction of skill development towards students from the trending of digital
fluency.
Technology today is the fundamental enhancement of teaching and education towards students
including collaborative learning. Many educators would approve that a vigorous display of student
triumph is the students ability to advance both skills and an interest in durable education. A teacher s
style of teaching regarding educational experience and environment could have a vast effect on their
student s education. However technology has emerged as the foundation regarding stronger education,
therefore numerous students going to college or university have already possessed progressive skills
concerning electronic learning as they ve practiced and learnt from a fledgling

Validity And Validity Of Assessment
Validity refers to whether or not the test is measuring what it purports to measure. There are many
things which can influence a test s validity, such as: how the content relates to the construct being
measured; rater response processes, item relationships within the scales; as well as external variables
(Cohen Swerdlik, 2009). Validity includes measurements of criterion related validity which
encompasses both predictive validity and concurrent validity. These serve to show validity in the area
of prediction (Cohen Swerdlik, 2009). Further, convergent validity is utilized to establish a relational
validity when more than two assessments are used through showing a convergence which proves each
is measuring the same construct (Cohen Swerdlik, 2009).
Proficiency in the different methods of testing with respect to the technical aspect of assessment is a
requirement of administering and analyzing an assessment competently (Krishnamurthy et al., 2004).
In order to effectively select and implement psychological testing, one must have a thorough
understanding of the intended purpose of the assessment and further, how to decipher the results
(Cohen Swerdlik, 2009). A full understanding of sources of error, such as bias, must be understood, as
well as how to determine internal and external validity. Failures to fully understand the problems or
goals of the client could result in misappropriate test selection. Similarly incorrect selection of test

Anne Bradstreet s Pre-Civil War Poetry
When reading Pre Civil War works, readers may have a preconception that the works may be difficult
to decipher and view them as archaic; however this is clearly not the case. The works are written in
modern English, and therefore, readers can still understand the overall, general concept even if they
cannot decipher each and every word. When reading the Salinas and Cherokee creation stories,
Columbus s Letter, and the works of Samuel de Champlain, the works can be read with ease. The
overall concept/ message may be difficult to understand at times, but to read each of the works can be
done effortlessly. Although the majority of the works assigned this week are easy to understand and
read, Anne Bradstreet s poetry may be considered a tad more difficult to comprehend, because her
poetry is written in a quatrain and the language gives off a flowerily ... Show more content on

Genetic Transformation And Its Effect On The Green...
The incorporation a plasmid vector, pGLO, into Escherichia coli via transformation is described. This
recombinant plasmid that has been altered contains the ability to fluoresce green under ultraviolet light
because of the Green Fluorescent Protein (GFP). pGLO also encompasses an antibiotic resistance
gene, bla, that allows E. coli to grow in media that contains penicillin derivative antibiotics such as
ampicillin. We conclude that the protein, GFP, is indeed responsible for the green fluorescence as
pGLO contains the gene to encode for it, which is turned on when arabinose is present. Additionally,
when the protein is subjected to denaturation, it decreases the fluorescence and changes the
conformation of the protein structure. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Plasmids are the extra chromosomal DNA in which most bacteria contain in addition to their bacterial
chromosome. Plasmids can be used as vectors to transfer DNA into a host bacterium. A nonpathogenic
strain of Escherichia coli (E. coli) HB101;K 12, is the host bacterium used to take up the plasmid with
the imported gene to be observed. pGLO is a recombinant plasmid that consists of a gene that codes
for Green Fluorescent Protein (GFP) and also contains a gene, beta lactam antibiotic (bla), that
expresses antibiotic resistance. GFP is a protein that is produced by the jellyfish Aequoria victoria and
has the ability to fluoresce green when exposed to ultraviolet (UV) light. The gene for GFP can be
turned on in the transformed bacterial cell in the presence of the sugar, arabinose. The bacteria that
contain the beta lactam antibiotic have the ability to create beta lactamase, which is an enzyme that
hydrolyzes the beta lactam rings of antibiotics which penicillin derivatives (among a broad range of
others) contain, deeming them incompetent. Beta lactam antibiotics inhibit the peptidoglycan layer of
the bacterial cell wall and because E.coli is a gram negative bacteria, its peptidoglycan layer is easily
susceptible to inhibition. pGLO contains fundamental genes that take part in the replication of the
plasmid DNA and the expression of its traits. bla (indicated by Amp in Figure A) is a gene that codes

Women During The Revolutionary Era
Fighting....maybe for freedom, but probably not was an indication of just how revolutionary the
Revolution War era was for women. As America was going through a new estate with the legacy of
the revolution, and striving for a new national governance, opportunities arose for both men and
women. During the revolutionary era, woman showed achievements in war and education. Although,
women developed a new consciousness that increased opportunities to influence public life, it was
often limited and ridiculed by women s traditional roles to society.
The American Revolution signified a period that was rich in debates about the nature of the
government as well as the rights of citizens. It generated changes in the principles, opinions, and ...

According to DuBois, This European intellectual movement emphasized the rights of individual, the
role of reason, the promise of social progress, and the importance of the scientific method (DuBois,
pg. 125). Although, the appreciation for the rights of individuals were questioned, would it apply to
both men and women? Surprisingly, women of were able to make some great contributions, however,
they had their limitations. This is shown during the taxations that the French put on colonials.
The taxations that were put on tea, household items, and cloth would became the biggest burden on
women, as consumers. The events arose women s political consciousness and gave them an
opportunity to voice opinions on the burdens place on them and their neighbors. Therefore, women
resisted these new polices by boycotting British goods. Instead of using imported cloth they began
creating their own, and they also began using herbal teas and coffee. Women of the time finally saw an
opportunity where they exert some political influence and they took it. They took much pride in their
work because they actually thought that they had finally had an opportunity to exert a political
influence. In New England the spinning bees were popular for manufacturing yarn and free white

Controversy Surrounding the Use of Contraception
Introduction
From the time when it became available the near the beginning of the 1960s, oral contraceptives,
commonly called the pill, have opened possibilities that had were shut to females for all of times gone
by. Possibly more than any other sole factor, the pill has made it likely for women to be in charge of of
their own lives and to attain their prospects. Nowadays, 100 million women all over the world use the
pill. Nonetheless, there are emergencies ensuing from rape or failure to use contraceptive plans. There
are in addition emergencies ensuing from accidental consensual sex. In spite of everything, the human
sexual desire was fashioned by evolution to guarantee procreation, and it works extremely fine. Given
the correct psychological stimulants, pretty much everyone, counting presidents of the United States
and well known religious leaders, will jeopardize it all for an illicit sexual rendezvous (Drazen, et al.
2004). To be adamant that society rely exclusively on self restraint more willingly than contraception
is to refute a nature beside which the gods themselves are unable to compete. The whole history of
humanity can be interpreted as evidence to the influence of that nature.
Plan B was produced to cover emergencies, no matter what their reason. It turned out to be obtainable
by prescription in 1999. Millions of women have ever since found Plan B to be harmless and efficient
if ingested after intercourse but sooner than a spermatozoon enters the membrane

The Birds Nest Stadium
1.0 Project Description
The Beijing National Stadium, better known as the Birds Nest Stadium is a sporting facility which was
purposefully built for the Beijing Olympic Games in 2008. This stadium is known for using tonnes of
steel (up to 42,000 tonnes) to produce a stadium that resembles a Birds Nest as shown in the figure
below (Bell,2017). Figure 1 Birds Nest Stadium (Bell,2017)
The stadium could fit up to 91,000 people inside and clever design by the architectural firm Herzog de

(Bell,2017). The project began in October of 2002 with an invitation for bidders opened by the BDPC

Other inputs to the estimate include Human Resource Plan, Risk Register and Organisational Process
Assets (Peebles,2017). All these inputs that the CITIC consortium used would help formulate the
estimation of cost that would be supplied in the tender process to the BDPC.
2.2 Tools and Techniques
Using the inputs above combined with specialised tools and techniques, the CITIC Consortium came
up with an outputted estimated cost to submit for the tender. These tools are as follows. High quality
personnel were trained for estimates and the company (CITIC Consortium) had a finance department
used for estimating projects (Chinyere,2013). This team was used throughout the whole project and
because of their background in estimating, this meant that they had expert judgement on what
activities could be done and for what price. Other techniques the team used include computer software
which could generate estimates on prices using historical information and previous projects that the
team had done (Chinyere, 2013). In regards to project cost management theory, analogous estimating
and parametric estimating are seen to be better so using these might have given the company a better
estimate on the Birds Nest Stadium project (Hueber, 2015).

Comparing Suppression of Women in Feminine Mystique,...
Suppression of Women through Isolation in The Feminine Mystique, Radicalesbians, and Trifles
It is far easier to break the spirit of one human being than that of a united group of people. Betty
Friedan s The Feminine Mystique , Radicalesbians , and Susan Glaspell s Trifles come to the same
conclusion: isolation and separation caused women to be vulnerable to domination by male society.
Social stigmatization by men, an inability to describe the situation, and a lack of personal identity kept
women apart from one another.

Stigma attached to the word lesbian also kept women apart from one another. Radicalesbians describes
the label lesbian as the debunking/scare term that keeps women from forming any primary
attachments, groups, or associations among ourselves. The women s movement was hurt by the
labeling by some in the media as a lesbian movement. Ironically, lesbians often felt underrepresented
in the movement while heterosexual women were afraid of being labeled lesbians. Radicalesbians
confronts this issue by arguing that women are being dominated by men as long as the label dyke can
be used to frighten a woman into a less militant stand, keep her separate from her sisters, keep her
from giving primacy to anything other than men and family.
An inability to communicate and a lack of a feeling of sisterhood kept women from communing with
one another. In Susan Glaspell s play Trifles , Mrs. Hale told Mrs. Peters that women live close
together and we live far apart. We all go through the same things it s all just a different kind of the
same thing. Mrs. Hale didn t know how to communicate with the oppressed Mrs. Wright so she simply
stayed away from her until it was too late. In The Feminine Mystique , Betty Friedan also talks about
the issue of communication. The housewives that Friedan wrote about had to develop a vocabulary to
discuss the problem that had no name before they were able to come together. Until women realized

The Effects Of Phosphorus On The Great Lake
History of the Phosphorus Issue in the Great Lake
Back to the history, the eutrophication problem was first time concerned by public on Great lakes at
the 1960s, the Lake Erie was covered by algae as a result of over dumped phosphorus from the sewage
and other waste water, at that time, the Lake Erie was known as the Dead Sea of North America
(Fitzpatrick, J. J., and Di Toro 1999). The reason cause this problem can be concluded in 2 points, 1.
the stresses of overfishing, 2. development of phosphorus based detergents. At the end of 1960, the
Canada and the United States have realized the penetrance of this problem and finally sit on the table
to sign an agreement that limiting phosphorus dumps to the Lake Erie, and plan to control existing
unstoppable algal growth. Because of the awareness of Canada and US government, the concentration
of phosphorus got a significant success. And this problem happened again during the 1990s, but this
time the reason why this happen is more complexly.

Value should not be confused with price, which is the quantity agreed between the seller and the buyer in the sale of a company. This difference in a specific company s value may be due to a multitude of reasons. For example, a large and technologically highly advanced foreign company wishes to buy a well known national company in order to gain entry into the local market, using the reputation of the local brand. In this case, the foreign buyer will only value the brand but not the plant, machinery, etc. as it has more advanced assets of its own. However, the seller will give a very high value to its material resources, as they are able to The reader interested in methods based on value creation measures can see Fernandez (2002, chapters 1, 13 and 14). • 4. The Positive And Negative Influences Of Reality Shows The purpose of this source is to measure the positive and negative influences of reality television programs on preteen and adolescent girls whom age ranges from eleven to seventeen years old. In this source, many studies are conducted to observe the behavior of the adolescent girls after they watched reality shows. For example, researchers found that if adolescent girls watched cosmetic surgery reality shows, they would have higher disordered eating attitudes than others would. On the contrary, some investigators discovered cosmetic surgery reality programs could in fact bring positive influence to teenage girls by letting them to know the benefits of cosmetic surgery. Therefore, researchers conclude young adults are more willing to change their appearance through cosmetic surgery after they have seen cosmetic surgery reality shows and that proves positive outcomes indeed exits in reality shows. Another study is created to examine the realness of reality television shows. It is implemented because people are becoming concern that reality shows are often scripted and they do not necessary indicate reality. Although the source does not explicitly explain why people s perception of the realness of reality show is important, it reveals if a reality television has an impact on viewers behavior, then these shows will be considered as real. Based on these studies, researchers conclude the category of each reality show will determine whether there is a positive or negative ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Organizational Behavior Theory 1 INTRODUCTION There are a few factors that determine an individual s well being as essential as income. Income is paramount to live a sufficient lifestyle for self and those who are dependent on us. Income is a stable aspect of job to the workers, organizations and the society in general. Income has huge role to play in determining the behaviors, attitude and perceptions of individuals in an organization and this can be a major driver of organization behavior. Using utility theory, in particular the concepts of marginal utility and marginal rate of substitution the author analyzes how the job satisfaction and wages of family employees differ from those of regular employees. The objective is to infer that the family employees have more job satisfaction than regular employees while receiving lower wages. Income can cause both positive and negative affect work and family balance. The effects of income has not been widely discussed as one of the major contributor to organizational behavior topic and instead topics such as monetary incentives and pay for performance schemes have been documented exhaustively. Finally, some (e.g. Lea Webley, 2006) have argued that the psychology of money is a visceral one, exhibiting similarities to the effects of other visceral influences on human behavior such as hunger and thirst and, as Loewenstein (1996) notes, visceral influences are often underestimated by individuals, partly because people tend to forget how important they were in ... • 6. Roadrunner Research Paper The world is full of birds designed by God to survive. Some birds live in water, some in air and some on land. One of the birds that live on land is the roadrunner. The roadrunner can be found throughout Texas and the surrounding areas. A lot of people that watch the Road Runner cartoon have an idea of what a road runner is that may not be true. For instance, the road does not have a long slender neck and is not purple. It is also not a huge or tall bird. The roadrunner s speed, physical appearance and diet make them a well designed bird for survival in the desert. Roadrunners are very fast running birds with a speed of at least 15mph. They got their name from being seen running along the road in front of horse drawn vehicles. They are faster than bicycles and can catch prey easily. When they run they hand their head low so that it s head and wings are parallel with the ground to help them run faster. They use their tail for balance and turning and to help them stop. The long tail is perfect for balance and can help the roadrunner dodge a carnivorous bird s grasp easily. The road runner also uses its speed to catch prey when hunting. Introduction In 1969, Novo Nordisk, which had been produced poor quality detergent, had a serious issue about the safety of the customer. Generally speaking, a company s reputation which has significant influence over a profit is much more important than an amount of money that a company needs to spend on cleaning up pollution. Despite being at a competitive disadvantage, the company has decided that it is better to disclose environmental reporting to be more transparent on social. In spite of accelerating rates of sales growth in Diabetes care over 10 years, Novo Nordisk could imitate the environmental issue and achieve its main objective for reducing the amount of carbon emission about 10%. In 2012, it was expected that energy consumption stood at 6% in 2013. After being analyzed, it can be seen that there was a 6% rise in energy consumption, which increased from 2,433 gigajoules in 2012 to 2,572 gigajoules in 2013. Assessing the performance of Novo Nordisk in 2013 and 2014, net sales increased slightly by 6% but the amount of carbon emission dropped by 4% from 125,000 tons to 120,000 tons because of reducing system power consumption and having changed the filling plant which become more environmentally friendly methods. The season 6 premier of Girls, the series final premier, managed to do all that in a subtle way, very appropriate to the show. It does not end with a drastic cliffhanger or a surprising revelation: it shows evidence of characters maturing. Through the past five seasons of Girls we ve watched as every character made terrible design after terrible decision, and the over arching theme was that each decision was born out of immaturity. The narrators statement at the very beginning of the story explains his own lack of knowledge about physical blindness. His lack of knowledge relating to the visitor s disability is not deniable, yet he makes it very clear that he is aware of his ignorance, saying that he was not happy about his visit. He was no one I knew. And his being blind bothered me. My idea of blindness came from the movies. In the movies, the blind moved slowly and never laughed. Sometimes seeing eye dogs led them. A blind man in my house was not something I looked forward to. (90) These statements explain his entire attitude about Robert, the house guest, and other blind people in general at the onset of the story, giving the narrator an instant feeling of exactly who the narrator and even what he may turn out to be. • 13. AFF Or Out Of Love In Sarajevo By Fay Weldon Is it possible to blame the death of millions of people on one single individual? Many may respond with a simple yes, while others will respond with a there has to be more to it. One specific case was the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand; an assassination that initiated World War I. This further leads one to assume a couple questions. For one, if the Archduke remained alive would the war still have happened? And if that was the case, would forty million people still have died? A simple response may be: it would happen sooner or later (177). In the Short Story, IND AFF or out of love in Sarajevo , Fay Weldon tells the story of a young college student on vacation in Sarajevo with her married history professor. While waiting for their food wild boar to be served, they have a conversation about the city s history. This happens to be the place where Archduke Franz Ferdinand and his wife were assassinated by Gavrilo Princip. The setting of the story, both past and present, reveals the symbolic and metaphoric concepts made by the author. There are many things which can influence a test s validity, such as: how the content relates to the construct being measured; rater response processes, item relationships within the scales; as well as external variables (Cohen Swerdlik, 2009). Validity includes measurements of criterion related validity which encompasses both predictive validity and concurrent validity. Further, convergent validity is utilized to establish a relational validity when more than two assessments are used through showing a convergence which proves each is measuring the same construct (Cohen Swerdlik, 2009). Proficiency in the different methods of testing with respect to the technical aspect of assessment is a requirement of administering and analyzing an assessment competently (Krishnamurthy et al., 2004). Possibly more than any other sole factor, the pill has made it likely for women to be in charge of of their own lives and to attain their prospects. Nowadays, 100 million women all over the world use the pill. Nonetheless, there are emergencies ensuing from rape or failure to use contraceptive plans. There are in addition emergencies ensuing from accidental consensual sex. Given the correct psychological stimulants, pretty much everyone, counting presidents of the United States and well known religious leaders, will jeopardize it all for an illicit sexual rendezvous (Drazen, et al. 2004). The whole history of humanity can be interpreted as evidence to the influence of that nature. Plan B was produced to cover emergencies, no matter what their reason. It turned out to be obtainable by prescription in 1999. Millions of women have ever since found Plan B to be harmless and efficient if ingested after intercourse but sooner than a spermatozoon enters the membrane ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 32. The Birds Nest Stadium 1.0 Project Description The Beijing National Stadium, better known as the Birds Nest Stadium is a sporting facility which was purposefully built for the Beijing Olympic Games in 2008. This stadium is known for using tonnes of steel (up to 42,000 tonnes) to produce a stadium that resembles a Birds Nest as shown in the figure below (Bell,2017). Figure 1 Birds Nest Stadium (Bell,2017) The stadium could fit up to 91,000 people inside and clever design by the architectural firm Herzog de Meuron allowed for this stadium to go down as one of the architectural wonders of the world (Bell,2017). The project began in October of 2002 with an invitation for bidders opened by the BDPC which allowed for companies to submit tender prices for the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Other inputs to the estimate include Human Resource Plan, Risk Register and Organisational Process Assets (Peebles,2017). All these inputs that the CITIC consortium used would help formulate the estimation of cost that would be supplied in the tender process to the BDPC. 2.2 Tools and Techniques Using the inputs above combined with specialised tools and techniques, the CITIC Consortium came up with an outputted estimated cost to submit for the tender. These tools are as follows. High quality personnel were trained for estimates and the company (CITIC Consortium) had a finance department used for estimating projects (Chinyere,2013). This team was used throughout the whole project and because of their background in estimating, this meant that they had expert judgement on what activities could be done and for what price. Other techniques the team used include computer software which could generate estimates on prices using historical information and previous projects that the team had done (Chinyere, 2013). In regards to project cost management theory, analogous estimating and parametric estimating are seen to be better so using these might have given the company a better estimate on the Birds Nest Stadium project (Hueber, 2015). 2.3 Outputs Inputs and tools/techniques are used to come up with an ... • 33. Comparing Suppression of Women in Feminine Mystique,... Suppression of Women through Isolation in The Feminine Mystique, Radicalesbians, and Trifles It is far easier to break the spirit of one human being than that of a united group of people. Betty Friedan s The Feminine Mystique , Radicalesbians , and Susan Glaspell s Trifles come to the same conclusion: isolation and separation caused women to be vulnerable to domination by male society. Social stigmatization by men, an inability to describe the situation, and a lack of personal identity kept women apart from one another. A fear of social stigma was one factor that kept women from supporting each other. In The Feminine Mystique , Betty Friedan discusses how American housewives went about ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Stigma attached to the word lesbian also kept women apart from one another. Radicalesbians describes the label lesbian as the debunking/scare term that keeps women from forming any primary attachments, groups, or associations among ourselves. The women s movement was hurt by the labeling by some in the media as a lesbian movement. Ironically, lesbians often felt underrepresented in the movement while heterosexual women were afraid of being labeled lesbians. Radicalesbians confronts this issue by arguing that women are being dominated by men as long as the label dyke can be used to frighten a woman into a less militant stand, keep her separate from her sisters, keep her from giving primacy to anything other than men and family. An inability to communicate and a lack of a feeling of sisterhood kept women from communing with one another. In Susan Glaspell s play Trifles , Mrs. Hale told Mrs. Peters that women live close together and we live far apart. We all go through the same things it s all just a different kind of the same thing. Mrs. Hale didn t know how to communicate with the oppressed Mrs. Wright so she simply stayed away from her until it was too late. In The Feminine Mystique , Betty Friedan also talks about the issue of communication. The housewives that Friedan wrote about had to develop a vocabulary to discuss the problem that had no name before they were able to come together. Until women realized that the personal is ... • 34. The Effects Of Phosphorus On The Great Lake History of the Phosphorus Issue in the Great Lake Back to the history, the eutrophication problem was first time concerned by public on Great lakes at the 1960s, the Lake Erie was covered by algae as a result of over dumped phosphorus from the sewage and other waste water, at that time, the Lake Erie was known as the Dead Sea of North America (Fitzpatrick, J. J., and Di Toro 1999). The reason cause this problem can be concluded in 2 points, 1. the stresses of overfishing, 2. development of phosphorus based detergents. At the end of 1960, the Canada and the United States have realized the penetrance of this problem and finally sit on the table to sign an agreement that limiting phosphorus dumps to the Lake Erie, and plan to control existing unstoppable algal growth. Because of the awareness of Canada and US government, the concentration of phosphorus got a significant success. And this problem happened again during the 1990s, but this time the reason why this happen is more complexly. The management of the runoff nutrients and phosphorus in North America Source control Although scientists have explain eutrophication can be first recognized at thousand years ago, but eutrophication has become serious and well known as a significant problem was actually at the 1940s, along with growth of the population, and extend of the farm field. The first fact trigger to eutrophication can be concluded as urbanization. At that time, most of the treated or untreated sewage was directly ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
