How Rock N Roll Changed America Essay
Rock n roll has played a major role in some known historical developments post World War 2.
Music plays a significant part in America s Cold War culture. Music gave us a sense of new
technologies and helped the world to prosper. It also is linked with African Americans living in
the South. Music was known for shaping the lives of the people during the 1950s and 1960s.
Music was geared towards the youth, race, ethnicity, gender and class. All Shook Up: How Rock
n Roll Changed America by Altschuler, Glenn C, tells us the story of the birth of rock and roll
during the concrete years of 1955 to 1965. Altschuler gives us a overview of how rock n roll has
an historical context. For two years the Times printed dozens of... Show more content on

The rise of rock n roll and the reception of it, in fact, can tell us a lot about the culture and values
of the United States in the 1950s. According to historians James Gilbert, there was a struggle
throughout the decade over the uses of popular culture to determine who would speak to what
audience, and for what purpose . At the center of that struggle, rock n roll unsettled a nation had
been living in an age of anxiety since 1945 (p.15). Altschuler talks about how music and race
interlock with one another. Rock had become a highly visible and contested arena for struggles
over racial identity and cultural and economic empowerment in the United States (p.35). Other
chapters within the book state the battles involving sexuality, generational conflicts, as well as
other social issues. The author states ideas that are somewhat problematic. For example, he
states that there is a myth that rock n roll went into a lull following the payola hearings (the
practice of record promoters paying DJs or radio programmers to play their labels songs) of 1959
and did not come about again until the arrival of the Beatles in 1964. Rock n roll presented us
with the emergence of a cultural phenomenon, which the book lays out for us. Altschuler sees rock
as a metaphor for integration, as the focal point for anxiety that cultural life in the U.S. had become
sexualized , a catalyst

Simba And Hamlet Comparison Essay
Through analyzing the movies Hamlet and The Lion King, it is clear that the resemblance and
differences between the two characters Hamlet and Simba and the storyline itself are very
noticeable. The main similarities taken away from the movie is the similarities between these two
princes that is widely talked about is the characters friendships and the death of both of their fathers.
The deaths of their fathers made them try and forget and redeem their deaths. A differencebetween
these two movies is the contrast between how Simba and Hamletare perceived to their family and
the public.
To begin with, Hamlet and Simba both had very close male friendships that helped them through
their problems in life. Simba establishes a deep friendship with the ever ... Show more content on

The United States Of America Essay
A crash in america may be coming a lot sooner than many people think. The United States of
America is facing problems a lot of people are either unaware of or just dont think its a big deal.
Most of america think that our economy and government is in alright financial shape, That may
not be the case though. America is in bad shape and it seems to be going down hill. America is
declining in world power as well and this is just another factor leading to a crash in the future.
Other nations are growing a lot more powerful than they have been in the past causing very big
problems as a nation.
There are a lot of people that think they have very solid arguments that america is in fine shape
and no one has any reason to worry. They think the problems people talk about are no big deal amd
that the nation can deal with them no problem. These reasons have some truth but for the most part
they have a lot of things that other nations are in control of. The United States debt is over 19
trillion dollars, that is an insane amount of money and it is going up rapidly. People think this is
ok because the US prints its own money so it is in control of its currency and debt. This is not a
very good thing to think because if the United States tried to get out of debt by printing trillions
more dollars than usual there would be a massive increase in inflation. Another argument is that
Obama added to the debt to get the United States out of a recession. He did do this but it also
caused us to

Religious Expression In Public Schools
For many years, schools have struggled to decide on whether to give students the freedom of
religious expression at school. This difficult topic is especially prevalent in many public schools
today. Most public schools comply with the separation of church and state by instating rules against
any kind of religious expression, essentially mandating conformity among students in terms of
religious expression. Some schools, however, have decided to place no restrictions on religious
expression. This serves to promote individualfreedom among students. Even if it may seem that
schools strongly differ when it comes to religious expression, schools do have something in
common pertaining to this issue. They all believe that the unique decision they... Show more content

After all, it is the school s job to educate our future generation so they are equipped for a world
containing a multitude of religious aspects even if doing so in an indirect manner. Providing
students the freedom to practice whichever religion they choose restricts feelings of pressure to
withhold their religious expression; something they would have to withhold in the name of
conformity at some public schools. As students become inevitably educated about religion
through religious expression around them, they steadily become less intolerant of other
religions besides their own. The students become accepting of the reality that we live in where
many different religious beliefs exist among people in all areas of life. This effect closely
mirrors the attitude that these students will have towards religion in the real world. Not only
does exposure to religious expression benefit the students and the school, but it furthermore
benefits the world as a whole by moving the future generation away from religious intolerance.
This creates a world where people can be comfortable and sure in their religion due to the lack of
intolerance directed towards them. Currently, however, religiously motivated hate crimes are on
the rise. In 2004, about 10 percent of all hate crimes were religiously motivatedв€’ compared to 28
percent today (Jackson 1). This is an example of religious intolerance in today s world which can be
remedied by educating the future generation about religion through allowing religious expression at
school. The religious tolerance that is subsequently developed among these students is what this
world so desperately

Empirical Sport Psychology Related Research Articles
The present review will analyze and critique five empirical sport psychology related research
articles. Moreover, the discussion of each article will include which statistical method was used,
why it was used, and whether or not it was appropriate for the data. In addition, the article
discussion will include a description and possible critique of the author s interpretations of the
results. Article 1 Lavalle (2005) evaluated the effectiveness of a life development intervention
for retired professional athletes who experienced career transition adjustment issues. Lavalle
(2005) recruited 71 participants, all of which were retired professional male soccer players who
played in England or Scotland. Lavalle (2005) placed participants in either the intervention group
(n = 32) or the control group (n = 39). Participants in both groups completed the British Athletes
Lifestyle Assessment Needs in Career and Education (BALANCE; Lavallee, Wylleman, 1999)
scale and the Transition Coping Questionnaire (TCQ; Schlossberg, 1993), three weeks after career
termination (Lavalle, 2005). In addition, the TCQ was completed again within four months of
career termination (Lavalle, 2005). Lavalle (2005) conducted a paired samples t test on

Policy Making Analysis
The first three chapters of the Introduction to the Policy Process talks about how our society
makes policy and how different events in the country s history can have drastic effects on policy,
and how these different kinds of policy s can have an effect on the American people as well. In this
country policymaking has been there from the start after the signing of the Declaration of
Independence and our separation from Great Britain. The readings mention what policy is and its
purpose in our governmentand the population at large, why policy making is important to study, the
elements of the policy making system, the different environments that can affect policy, and the
historical and structural contexts of policy making in this country.... Show more content on

One thing that the readings mentions that when we look at the policy making process, we should
look at the separation of powers. The separation of powers in our government, is the balance that
was put in place so that no branch has too much power, and that each branch can override a
decision, that one branch makes when it comes to policy. The three branches are the executive
branch, which deals with the president, the legislative branch which deals with the House of
Representatives and the Senate, and the Judicial Branch, which deals with the Supreme Court.
Each branch has a separate job to do, and can influence policy in different ways. For example, the
Supreme Court had overruled a policy that had said that schools could separate kids due to the
color of the skin. The Famous court case of Brown v. Board of Education changed this policy
and allowed kids to go to the same school, regardless of the color of their skin. Many people
across the country knew that the separate schools policy was wrong and the government did
nothing to change it for many years. The court case changed this and overruled a policy that had
been put in place many years ago and created a new policy in its

Figurative Language In William Blake s The Tiger
Martin Bennett
Engl. 102
6/17/17
The Tiger, originally called The Tyger, is a lyric poem focusing on the nature of God and his
creations. It was published in 1794 in a collection entitled Songs of Experience (1). Poetry Essay
Outline Thesis: The Tiger is a poem by William Blake that routines a lot of underlying themes,
throughout the writing. He asks a series of serious queries concerning the nature of God, and why he
created the tiger. The theme of the poem is about God as the creator of good and evilthat leads the
reader to think.
The strongest literary element in William Blake s poem The Tyger, which is figurative language.
Figurative language can be defined as anything said or written that means something beyond the
literal meaning of the words that are used (2). The initial lines of Blake s poem are chock full of
intense figurative language: Tyger! Tyger! burning bright, In the forests of the night, the tiger is not
literally burning, of course, and this metaphor of fire and burning is carried out through the poem
and takes on all sorts of associations, including an association with the infernal. Allusion also plays
an important role in the poem. Stanza two includes an allusion to Icarus, who in classic myth
attempts to fly to the sun ( ...what wings... ). The allusion mixes with the fire imagery, and the idea
that the creator forges the tiger in fire, like a blacksmith. Stanza five contains an allusion to the fall
of Satan from heaven (the stars

The way that Scrum treats requirement is different from sequential product development. The
requirement of sequential product development cannot be negotiable, and has been refined and

requirements are well documented and handed over to the development team in detail, and then, the
development team is responsible for the development following the content of the document. The
details of Scrum s requirement are discussed in the ongoing dialogue during the development. In

Planning poker can promote team discussion, allowing Scrum team to reach consensus to
determine the size of the PBI. Scrum team used Planning Poker to group similar size items in order
to get estimated results of PBI.
There are two important purposes for Scrum team to use velocity. One purpose is that velocity can
help Scrum team to calculate the duration and help Scrum team determine how much work can be
done in the next sprint. Another one is to assess and improve the ability to deliver customer value.
Allowing Scrum team to accumulate the value of the PBIs completed in a single sprint is a
common way to predict velocity. However, Scrum team should use the velocity range. As Scrum
team complete more and more sprint, they should calculate the average velocity to get the range.
There are many ways to improve the velocity such as training Scrum team and improving
equipment. However, velocity increased by overtime cannot last long. Velocity should not be used
to determine the performance of Scrum team, instead, velocity should be used to help Scrum teams
to determine whether they implement the plan or make

The First Generation Of Stars
The article printed in the Nature News on June 18, 2015 describes the first look at the first
generation of stars that give way to the universe. These stars, most likely from the late developing
cluster of the first generation of stars, are strong evidence of primordial stars. Primordial stars are
stars that are considered the original stars of the universe, and the precursors to the rest of the stars
and celestial bodies in the universe.
David Sobral and his team at the University of Lisbon led the work in finding this cluster of stars
in a bright galaxy, named COSMOS Redshift 7 (CR7). The team at the University of Lisbon used
the Subaru Telescope in Hawaii to first detect the light spectrum from CR7, and used three
additional telescopes to determine which of the distant bright galaxies the light originated.
The Subaru Telescope is located in Mauna Kea, Hawaii, and is an 8.2 metre optical infrared
telescope, operated by the National Astronomical Observatory of Japan ( Subaru telescope , n.d.).
Situated in the summit of Mauna Kea, the telescope collects light using a mirror, and focuses the
photons to create high resolution image. The mirrors in the telescope have a small error margin of
0.012 Ојm, which allows for the telescope to provide crisp images.
The Subaru telescope were used to pan across the sky to look for light spectrum signals from
distant bright galaxies. Upon exacting the location of the light spectrum, Sobral and his team
analyzed the light signals. They

Badaracco s Moral Flexibility
Badaracco introduces the concept of moral flexibility in his observations of the legendary
Okonkwo from African literature. As the chief tribal leader of Umuofia, Okonkwo s upbringing
causes him to develop the character traits of strength, courage, and perseverance. He holds firmly
to his personal convictions and the traditions of Umuofia. However, Okonkwo s failures reveal
his true moral code after he beats one of his wives and lies about it during the Week of Peace.
Rather than adapting his convictions to the concerns and values of his community, Okonkwo clung
to his traditional values at the cost of his relationships. Towards the end of his life, Okonkwo went
into exile while Umuofia embraced the change and influence of Westerners. Finally, Okonkwo
commits the greatest act of cowardice as a leader and kills himself.... Show more content on

As Badaracco describes, a moral code must supersede personal convictions and adapt to the
convictions and needs of the community. The opposition between Badaracco s moral flexibility and
Kouzes and Posner s integrity of values is the primary determinant of moral values. The idea of
moral flexibility is based on the external environment. In this situation, the determinant of a person s
values is the environment and community a person finds him or herself in. The source of a moral
code, according to moral flexibility, is not a set of unchanging principles, but harmony with the ever
changing environment and the universal values of human dignity, love, and goodwill. On the other
hand, the integrity of values is based on an internalized foundation of values. The determinant of
these values is the individual s personal convictions based on unchanging

The conditions that the women are giving birth in are not always safe and adequate, especially
after the earthquake. To help give the women what she needs during delivery an organization is
distributing reproductive health kits to assist [the women] and their families to deliver their
babies in the absence of medical staff to support them (Daniel, 2010, p. 102). There are many
steps that are being taken in Haiti to help improve women s health especially when it concerns
reproductive health. By educating and improving the health of the women it will with any luck
improve the health of the children in Haiti as well. By improving the women s health it will help to
decrease the cases of malnutrition in the children of Haiti as well.
Nutrition
Malnutrition is a serious health concern for people that are residing in Haiti, especially the
children. Malnutrition has a serious effect on the body, children [that] suffer from acute
malnutrition are at a great risk for severe morbidity and mortality (Roller, Gray, Previl, Forrest,

The Effects Of The Tiananmen Square Protest Of China
Contrary to the Ying and Yang s dependence on each other in Chinese philosophy, the people of
China and their government could not depend on each other. The Tiananmen Square Protest of
1989 was a democratic movement calling for political and social reforms in China. This student led
protest had been going on for many months but was forcefully oppressed by China s People s
Liberation Army on the night of June third and fourth, 1989. The deaths that occurred as a
consequence of the Tiananmen Square Protest was not the fault of the students, but rather, the
disastrous situation China was in beforehand, the common belief that demonstrations would benefit
the people, and the government s obstinate decisions. China was suffering from harsh living
conditions prior to the massacre, which pushed the students to take action. To begin with, the
country had been under intense economic pressure. After adopting a capitalist type economy, the
country began suffering from rising inflation, declining wages, and increasing unemployment rates.
The biggest department store sold two hundred times its usual monthly income. Fearing inflation
would make living necessities unaffordable, citizens used all their savings to purchase items ahead
of time, thus, creating a false demand and increasing debt. Labour unrest grew as 20 to 30 million
citizens were laid off in state enterprises that year. Many more were laid off in other labour sectors,
increasing unemployment rates. Even though China s economy

My Life Problems
Living a happy life isn t without problems (dragons) but, being able to control (tame) them. For
me, I ve had and still have many problems in my life that are all around me and with me. As
much as going to college to improve my life it came with the increasing amount of problem.
Problems that affected my outside life but mostly created problems with my educational life. As
I deal with these problems there are some that stand out in front of other problems and one of
those problems is decisiveness knowing right from wrong. Should I do it or not? Am I ok with the
final product? Am I right? These are some questions that I ask myself almost every day in life.
There are two types of decisions there are good decisions and bad, and guess what type I would
pick? Neither because I could never decide what decision is truly good or bad. Decisiveness is
natural it comes with the gut feeling but I was always the one to question my know gut feeling.

Mental Health Intake Form Analysis
Mental Health Intake Form Critique
For this assignment I searched for a complete and thorough mental health intake form, and I feel
that for this assignment I found a very useful and detailed form that is also generic enough to be
used in a variety of settings.
A.When it comes to a mental health assessment, there are many questions that are needed to figure
out what a client s presenting problems are. According to Mattison, you need to be able to conduct
a systematic analysis of the dilemma in order to reach a decision on the what the client s needs are.
In the form that I found online, the basic questions are asked, such as name, date of birth, Gender
and ethnicity. Some of the following questions allow the mental health worker to evaluate ... Show

Another concern is the amount of space to answer some of the questions. While some areas do
give adequate space for answers, there are some that could benefit from having some more space.
One area that I feel could use more room would be the suicide assessment section. I would also
add more space to the section asking what the problems are that the client is seeking help for.
These are two areas that can formulate lengthy responses, and rather than limit what the client
reports, ample room should be provided to allow for them to fully express their needs.
F.I do not feel that this intake form needs to be reformatted, because the flow of the questions is
easy to read and understand. I feel that the form starts out informal, with the typical intake form
questions, and then leads into the questions that have more to deal with the mental health aspects
of an individual. I feel that the different sections do a nice job at leading into each other, and that it
gives the client a gradual accent into the more serious and in depth

The Effect Of Traffic On Major Cities By Running A Few...
Traffic Lab
ITEC 201 In this lab we will examine the impact of traffic on major cities by running a few test
simulations as well as examining data on the topic. Please answer the following questions in detail.
1.What are some major challenges you feel cities face when dealing with and handling large
amounts of traffic? What could be some potential solutions that could minimize some traffic
congestion?
When dealing with handling large amounts of traffic, cities may experience a higher incidence of
accidents or speeding cars due to road rage. Cities also deal with risking driver safety because
some drivers may be tired from long hours at work and do not have enough energy to stay awake
throughout the hours of traffic on the road home every day. Traffic congestion not only affects
car drivers, but it may also delay the trip of those who get to places on the bus and in taxi cabs as
well. On city roads, traffic congestion may lead to the death of many pedestrians by car accident
because drivers may become impatient and outrageously try to run red lights or not stop at the
crosswalks. Also, the running engine in the high traffic may lead to high rates of air pollution.
Some potential solution are to build bridges or streets around the city that are made mainly for
public transportation services such as the city bus or taxi cab in order to reduce the number of
frustrated drivers on one road. Also, cities may also arrange for road construction to be done at
times when the

At first glance at the poem Another Lullaby for Insomniacs by A.E. Stallings, it can seem like
the subject is insomnia just for the title but it has more than depth than that. In order to

Government Classifying Marijuana
One of the ways the government fits into how we classify using concepts is by altering our
perception and in the process effecting the way we classify things and people. The government
often does this through the laws and regulations that they create. High standing government
officials that garner a great deal of respect may also alter our perceptions through speeches that they
make. Sometimes the governmentand officials are trying to alter our perceptions in an attempt to
make us classify things the way that they do, while other times our altered perceptions are an
unintended consequence. Whether the altering of our perceptions is intentional or not it can and
does affect the way that we classify things and people. The differences in the way people classify
marijuana is a very good example of how the government laws and our own experiences effect our
perceiving lenses and therefore the way we classify concepts. In this case the federal government
has already attempted to classify marijuana and other controlled substances by grouping them
together with other drugs that they believe have similarities. They list... Show more content on

someone who has and have not noted any major side effects. Someone else may have read studies

Society s Call For Action
Society s Call for Action
Mass media are forms of communication that generate messages for very large, very heterogeneous,
and very anonymous audiences (Thompson et al. 93).
Body image is a complicated aspect of the self concept that concerns an individual s perception and
feelings about their body and physical appearance (Serdar 1).
With the increasing percentage of today s females struggling with personal body image issues, the
media has been criticized for playing a critical role in bringing body discontentment upon the female
population; several theories help explain how this discontentment happens. Media is the primary
public means used around the world to relay ideas, values, norms, attitudes and behaviors (Lopez
Guimera et al.388). Society is bombarded throughout their daily lives with different forms of
media relaying a wide variety of messages. The thin ideal set by the mass media has become the
standard for female beauty and has played a major role in how women perceive themselves.
From waking up to the radio advertizing the newest diet supplement offering a free sample for a

Essay on Analysis of Birches
Analysis of Birches
The discursive blank verse meditation Birches does not center on a continuously encountered and
revealing nature scene; rather, it builds a mosaic of thoughts from fragments of memory and
fantasy. Its vividness and genial, bittersweet speculation help make it one of Frost s most popular
poems, and because its shifts of metaphor and tone invite varying interpretation it has also received
much critical discussion, not always admiring. The poem moves back and forth between two
visual perspectives: birch trees as bent by boys playful swinging and by ice storms, the thematic
interweaving being somewhat puzzling. The birches bent across the lines of straighter darker trees
subtly introduce the theme of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Frost s speaker then self consciously breaks from his realistic but metaphorically fantasied
digression to say he would prefer to have some boy bend the birches, which action becomes a
symbol for controlled experience, as contrasted with the genial fatality of ice storms. The boy s
fancied playfulness substitutes for unavailable companionship, making for a thoughtful communion
with nature, which rather than teach him wisdom allows him to learn it. Despite the insistence on
the difference between ice storms permanent damage to birches and a boy s temporary effects, the
boy subdues and conquers the trees. His swinging is practice for maintaining life s difficult and
precarious balances.
The third part of the poem begins with a more personal and philosophical tone. The speaker
claims to have been such a youthful swinger of birches, an activity he can go back to only by
dreaming. The birch trees, probably both ice bent and boy swung, stand for the order and control
missing from ordinary experience. The considerations he is weary of are conflicting claims that
leave him disoriented and stung. The desire to get away from earth, importantly qualified by
awhile, shows a yearning for the ideal or perhaps for the imaginative isolation of the birch swinger.

Biblical View of the Church
Biblical View of the Church
The Church was birthed in Jerusalem on the Day of Pentecost after receiving the promised Holy
Spirit. The book of Acts describes the beginning as well as the characteristics of the risen Christ
newborn church (Acts 2:42 47). During this time, the Good News of Jesus Christ was proclaimed
initially to Jews in Jerusalem and later spread to Gentiles throughout the Roman Empire. Since
Jews and Gentiles were God s called out ones , their mutual hostility was transformed into a
cooperative unity due to their common salvation provided through Jesus Christ (Ephesians 2:13
16). All the people that God has called to himself constitute Christ church on earth, which is
surrounded by a big cloud of witnesses (Heb. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

like an anchor giving stability and strength in the midst of a hurricane, and more like a spider

In reason number six of Lutzer book Seven Reasons Why You Can Trust The Bible
, he points out to
the fact that The Scriptures are said to be God s breathed (2 Timothy 3:16 NIV). Neither church
councils nor words of Knowledge are said to have that authority . In 2 Timothy 3:16 17 Paul
advices Timothy about the source and authority of Scripture, All Scripture is inspired by God
and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; so that the
man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work . Sola scriptura, the Scriptures
alone , is above traditions or any religious interpretation . The Church of God has been called to
teach accurately the Truth revealed in the Scriptures. Lutzer exposes that, for instance, Catholicism
teaches the primacy of the church over the canon of Scripture; it believes that the official church
is just as infallible as the Bible . According to this point of view the church , which is composed
by popes and councils, determined which books are in the bible (p. 155).
In this modern age the church is functioning in a pluralistic

Marx s Theory On Class Conflict And Society Essay
Since the french and industrial revolution in 18 century, the world had come to a new era:
capitalist society. Capitalism represents a big step forward in human productive abilities
compared with previous forms of society. Along with the social development, there was a new
group of people who was called the sociologist who analyze and try to understand how this
society works. Marx was one of them and his ideas were influential. His theory mostly emphasis
on class conflict and the society from economic aspects. This essay will first analyze Marx s
theory in detail. Then I will explain how economy and social conflict related to Marx s theory
along with the role of these factors in the capitalist society.
Marx defined social class as the class which sets the scene and moves things forward. He
sometimes talked about there are only two classes: Bourgeoisie and proletariat, the class in itself
and the class for itself, sometimes talked about there are many numbers of classes such as
capitalist, working class and landowner. There is no simple unambiguous, and universally
accepted body of Marxist doctrine. As Bob Jessop said, the thoughts of Marx in his life time
were various and far ranging. In general, Marx refers bourgeoisies as capitalists and they are
major class in that period leading into industrialization. And he thinks the petty bourgeoisie as
middle classes who cannot see themselves as part of class, only as individual. The last one, the
proletariat, was described by

SHOULD MALE PROFESSIONAL ATHLETES BE PAID MORE THAT FEMALE ATHLETES?
Toady sports is viewed by fans all around the world rather it being basketball, football, or baseball.
Sports has become more of a gender controversial topic than simply enjoying the excitement of

Because it is DHHS, we have ad hoc requests of it all the time. DHHS does not allow thumb
drives or other USB devices to be connected to their computers and the data is often too large to
fit on a CD or DVD, and even if it could, (as they have used them in the past) they do not allow
the media to leave the building, so the transfer has to happen onsite. o Potential solution: There can
be a laptop that can either be held by ISA or checked out by ISA that is not virtual that can be used.
2)Host on demand did not work. (Talk with Claudia for more information) We use this to connect
to the state Main Frame. Several ISA staff use this on an almost daily basis.
When a reboot happens 100% of the settings are wiped out. In other words, Outlook needs to be
reconfigured, as well as Word, Excel and FileZilla. For most departments this is only a minor
inconvenience, for ISA there are VBS scripts that are loaded into the personal template of Excel
as well as a lot of FTP and sFTP sites in FileZilla. o Potential solution: The VBS scripts for Excel
could be included in the raw image for ISA virtual desktops so that the VBA scripts are already
setup. For FileZilla, there could be a baseline in the raw image that would include all the sites we
most commonly use ISA wide and anyone with additional sites would

Major Literary Forms In The New Testament
Define and describe the major literary forms (genres) contained in the New Testament?
The New Testament contains several different genres but not as many as the Hebrew bible,
Gospels the only literary category that was invented by the early Christians. Gospel was a Greek
word meaning evengelion or good news . Gospel tells the story of Jesus his ministry death and
resurrection. In the Greek speaking times Evangelion was used to announce public news of the
Roman emperor and to denote Jesus teachings and his life.
A gospel involves the words and good deeds of Jesus and there forms are not shaped by
biographical consideration but by their author s theological viewpoints or a study of God. By
placing the four gospels at the beginning of the New Testament, there are four different
interpretations by four different authors.
Letters are the second literary form, the New Testament has twenty one letters that offer views of
Christians in there difficulties in following Jesus, these letters were written between 30 60 CE.
The book of Revelations is another major literary form also known as the apocalypse or
unveiling, Revelations features the unseen world inhabited by both good and evil creatures and
urges us as believers to follow Christ each and every day and to always have faith in him. As we
study the books we find numerous apocalyptic concepts involving eschatology or study of worlds

Reflection Paper On Time Management
DESCRIPTION
Time management is a tool that will aid in becoming a successful student. Time management
starts with setting SMART goals. A SMART goal is Specific, Measurable, Actionable, Realistic,
and Time based. Once SMART goals are in place use calendars to get organized. Keep a monthly
calendar somewhere it can easily be seen to write down goals or deadlines. A whiteboard is one
suggestion for a monthly calendar. Colors or symbols can be used on the calendars to quickly
show what is urgent and what can be delegated. Use a weekly calendar and schedule class, study,
work, and social time. When making a weekly calendar follow the rule one hour of lecture time
equals 2 hours of study. Following this rule would give a person with 5 classes 30 hours of study
time. The calendar created with the schedule will help to create a task list. A task list consists of
things that need to be done now and things that can again be delegated. Setting small goals by
month, week and then by the task are the main tools to get organized using time management.

Ecological Study Of The Honey Bees And The Flowers
Ecology is the scientific study of the relationships between organisms, the interactions between
organisms and their environment, and the processes involved in the distribution of organisms.
Flowers pollinated by honey bees in the middle of a field can be studied ecologically. For instance:
the species of honey beeinhabiting this field of flowers can be analyzed, the amount of honey bees
of this particular species found on this field can be calculated, and the factors affecting the honey
bee populationcan be investigated. This form of ecological study is called population ecologyas it
studies a single species population in a given area. Studying the interaction between the honey
bees and the flowers, instead, goes to a different category of ecology called community ecology.
Community ecology studies the relationships and interactions between different populations in a
given location. Studying a broader scope like the structure and functions of all the biotic and
abiotic factors of the field, including the honey bees and the flowers, dives into a different
category of ecology which is called ecosystem ecology. This category looks into all the interactions
going on in the system and where the energy is flowing, which is a cycle that always starts from
the producers of the system to the consumers of the system.
Population ecology studies the factors that affect the population size of one species in a certain
geographical area. Four factors affect population

Positive Economic Changes Of Industrial Automation Essay
Positive Economic Changes of Industrial Automation by 2036 When a sect of society is faced
with the imminent reality that its lifestyle will be disrupted by the advent of the latest
technology, there ensues a massive ideological regression to the status quo. Historically, polls
showed an aversion to technology, with only 28% of adults labelling themselves as early
adopters of technology (Pew Research). A low percentage of early adopters creates a chasm of
technology adoption, reinforced by the dissent of a vocal minority of technology conservatives.
This aversion to technology is not drawn on by rational, evidence based conclusions, but rather,
apocalyptic premonitions of the poorer livelihoods of average citizens. The common fear is that
automation will kill jobs and create a high unemployment rate. Despite this hyperbolic scenario,
the trope offers a starting point to analyze the scope of economic changes that would occur
during a plausible future. The current 20 year period we live in (2016 to 2036) can be
categorized as the genesis of capable, automated machines, which will be referred to as CAMs, that
can take on menial tasks currently done by humans. This does not cover highly intelligent AI, as
they are too distant in the future to accurately predict, refer to Appendix A for more information.

Tibet
800 years of political unrest (1244 2005)
The moulding of history for political gain is not something new. It has been going on for centuries,
since the time of the pharaohs to even the plight of the white population under Robert Mugabe.
I shall be highlighting the case of Tibetan suppression under communist China.
Basically Modern Chinese historians and authorities have tried to claim that historically Tibet falls
under Chinese sovereignty and thus should rightfully, and legally be run from Beijing, this is not
true, as I shall be explaining in my report.
The first modern (post 19th century) Chinese and Tibetan hostilities began as a result of British

Chinese authorities claim that Tibet was thus officially incorporated into the territory of China s
Yuan Dynasty (China White Paper, p3). Yet today none of the other countries once dominated by
the Mongols are oppressed by Beijing. And in reality Tibetans claim that they experienced more
religious freedom, resulting in Buddhism later becoming the official religion of the Mongol Empire.
Finally in the 15th century the native Ming Dynasty overthrew the Mongols. This, Chinese
Historians claim again, is evidence that China inherited control of Tibet from the Mongols, yet
there is no evidence to suggest the Tibet was in anyway controlled by China, and thus wasn t
related to it at all. Further more during this time Tibet and China existed, as completely separate and
fully individual states, although there was communication between the two there is no evidence to
point to the idea that this had any major importance.
The Chinese feel they have another right, although even by looking from their point of view it is
hard to see the reasoning behind it. Simply, they feel that they once again earned the right to
ownership of Tibet, on the grounds that when the Manchu Armies took control of both China and
Tibet, Tibet fell under a much sticker role. This is the simple chronology of it. In 1644, Manchu
armies seized China and established the new Qing Dynasty. Over the

With the mistakes of humanity come both guilt and sins. In the story the crucible written by

Comparison Of Howl And Song Of Myself
Howl by Ginsberg and Song of Myself by Whitman, have different and similar variances on the take
of the world. Howl is more technical and gets straight to the point of the world whereas Song of
Myself starts off with a happier side of the world. Whitman describes world as heaven and Ginsberg
describes live as dark and evil. Where Whitman is less harsh and Ginsberg is very harsh. Also,
Ginsberg uses a raw language to describe the world in a deeper perspective. In Song of Myself,
Whitman describes the world as a hopeful place in which a lot can be done. He states, The
atmosphere is not a perfume, it has no taste of the
distillation, it is odorless,
It is for my

When Whitman says, The youngster and the red faced girl turn aside up the bushy hill; I
peeringly view them from the top. The suicide sprawls on the bloody floor of the bed room; I
witness the corpse with its dabbled hair I note where the pistol has fallen (lines 150 153),
Ginsberg replies with, who created great suicidal dramas on the apartment cliff banks of the
Hudson under the wartime blue floodlight of the moon their heads shall be crowned with laurel
in oblivion (line 46). These two quotes stand out and seem that they are replying to one other. In
lines 150 168 in Song of Myself , he discussed that he has been through many experience in one,
which is horrifying as children committing suicide. Ginsberg replies to this as if they have
committed suicide they should be honored and given the status of a hero for such bravery.
Ginsberg way of discussing suicide is more intense than Whitman s. Ginsberg definition of
suicide is the resort of pain and suffering and that leads to being honored because it takes a lot of
will to go through the agony. Whitman see s the suffering but ignores it because it s a part of how
the world is and he cannot be judgmental of whom ever is suicidal because he accepts that the
world consists of life and

Nervous System Vs Endocrine System
Each process, which takes place in the human body, should be regulated. The two systems, which
perform regulation, are the nervous system and the endocrine system. The nervous system is
concerned with fast responses to certain environmental or internal stimuli. In contrast, the endocrine
system is responsible of the slower control mechanisms, which address the long term processes,
such as circadian rhythms and growth. The endocrine organs are capable of production of
messengers, or hormones, which are released into blood. With blood flow, the hormones reach their
target organs and interact with specific receptors, causing certain regulatory effect on the target
organ (Chrousos, 2007).
The proper functioning of the endocrine system is extremely important. In case of overproduction or
reduced production of hormones the related processes become improperly regulated, which can

It is a disabling disorder because its progression starts from the earliest years and possible
complications get worse with age. If not diagnosed in time, it leads to a serious condition called
ketoacidosis. In case of some mutations, the patient experiences learning problems. It can be
explained by reduced intake of glucose by brain cells. Diagnosis of neonatal diabetes is based on
blood glucose and urine glucose tests, and symptoms, including frequent urination and intrauterine
growth restriction. After diabetes is confirmed, the genetic diagnosis is performed for the patient.
Unlike other forms of diabetes, which are caused by environmental factors and viruses, in case of
type I diabetes, the neonatal one is primarily a genetic condition. The suggested treatment consists
of insulin injections to provide the organism with lacking hormone. Because of insulin injections,
the blood glucose returns to normal and the main complications are relieved (StГёy et al.,

The Pacific Campaign Of World War II
The Pacific Campaign of World War II showed an uncommon test for the United States. The
Americans were successful for some reasons including the commitment of US General Douglas
MacArthur and the Australian s effect on the war. Numerous Successful attributes identified
with the war were the Bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki and the Battle of Midway and The
Battle of Coral Sea. The Pacific Campaign for the US was initiated after the bombing of Pearl
Harbour which was done by the Japanese forces on December 7, 1941. The attack on Pearl
Harbour quickly aroused an isolated country without hesitation. Public opinion had been moving
towards support for entering the war amid 1941, however extensive resistance stayed until the
assault. Overnight, Americans joined the allies against Japan. American solidarity in the war
exertion most likely made the unconditional surrender position later taken by the Allied Powers.
Many Historians believed that this effort by the Japanese doomed them to defeat because they
had awoken the sleeping giants of the US. Once awoken the US were able to have an immense
impact on the pacific theatres. General Douglas MacArthur s impact on WWII: MacArthur was the
Chief of Staff of the United States Army amid the 1930s and assumed an unmistakable part in the
Pacific Campaign within World War II. After the Philippine fiasco, MacArthur started the long
crusade to crush Japanese military force in the pacific. Hampered in the early months by

Review On Iris Based Attendance System
Review on Iris Based Attendance System
Introduction: Biometric authentication is the process of verifying an individual based on
behavioral and physiological characteristics. Iris recognition verification is one of the most reliable
personal identification methods in biometrics. In the beginning, the idea of using iris patterns for
personal identification was originally proposed in 1936 by ophthalmologist Frank Burch. By the
1980 s the idea had appeared in James Bond films, but it still remained science fiction and
conjecture. As biometric of human for identification purpose which cannot be stolen or lost. From
the biometric system there exist different types of biometric such as thumb recognition, palm
recognition, face recognition and iris recognition etc.
Amongst which the iris is more preferred. The reason for the popularity of iris recognition verifying
is the uniqueness, stability, permanency and easily taking. Iris recognition system is highly
protected and stable that results in a single enrolment for the lifetime. The unique pattern on the
surface of the iris is formed during the first year of life. Formation of the unique patterns of the iris
is random and not related to any genetic factors. The only characteristic that is dependent on
genetics is the pigmentation of the iris, which determines its color. Due to the epigenetic nature of
iris patterns, the two eyes of an individual contain completely independent iris patterns, and
identical twins

A Website On Air Pollution
Our proposal is to create a website that encourages people to learn about how to use their car
efficiently. Our website is called Greenriding and there are some games and quizzes that teach you
about air pollution. During this game you earn points and you can trade it in for coupons and the
coupon is sent to the person by email, and comes in a printable PDF. These coupons can be traded
in for things that help air pollution(free smog checks, free tire inflation, free shuttle rides, and free
tune ups). The reason our proposal is mainly focused on learning lessons, to earn points, to get
coupons, is because actually keeping your car in good shape is a huge impact on the
environment. Also getting your car checked out, and fixed soon after your engine light goes on,
can improve your mileage by more than 30%. The second part of Greenriding is a car and
shuttle system called Greenrides. You can either rent a shuttle bus for multiple people, or you
could rent an individual car for just a few people. To become a member of the Greenrides
program, you pay $25 per year. You get the individual car rides for free, but would still pay $10
per shuttle ride. We the car manufactures are concerned that the next generation of drivers will not
be educated enough on air pollution. They should be able to learn about air pollution for a small
price. Your car is designed to run at an optimal efficiency, however time, distance, and weather,
contribute to decreasing that efficiency. Routine

A Message Of The Fellow By The Name Of Rowan
In A Message to Garcia, Hubbard wrote, How the fellow by the name of Rowan took the letter,
sealed it over his heart, in four days landed by night off the coast of Cuba from an open boat,
disappeared into the jungle, and in three weeks came out on the other side of the Island, having
traversed a hostile country on foot and delivered his letter to Garcia are things I have no special
desire now to tell in detail. Then, Hubbard explained, here was a rare man who had the
ingredients for success that are needed everywhere. Rowan immediately set out to do what he
was asked to do and he did it. There were no excuses or foot dragging. He didn t demand that
someone furnish him with detailed plans of how to accomplish this assignment. He didn t
hesitate. He didn t waste time. He didn t give up, although there were plenty of temptations to
do so. He stayed focused on his goal, partly because he saw how it fit with a much larger goal.
He was tough and tenacious. All of which are key characteristics for a successful worker.
Something to take note of was that Rowan was recommended to President McKinley to delivering
the message to Garcia. This means that people were aware that Rowan was the most capable to
complete the difficult task. He was already known by others to be a man that gets his work done
under any circumstance. Hubbard continues and mentions that after Rowan was given the job, he
went to work without further questions. Rowan is portrayed to be the ideal worker in

A Causal Effect Of Mother s Marital Status On Child s...
Is there a causal effect of mother s marital status on child s birth weight? Childbearing among
unmarried women has been the subject of intense public policy and public health concern for
decades, much of it reflecting concerns about the impact of family structure and the economic
security on children s health and mental well being. This report examines dataset on births in
NYC in 2001 to establish if there is a causal effect between nonmarital birth and low birth weight.
Let us first examine the apparent effect of mother s marital status during childbearing on infants
weight by running a simple regression analysis where we use married as a dummy variable and
child s birth weight as a dependent variable. We have the following results: Birth weight (in
grams) = 3193.471 + 94.994*married The model predicts that on average, the weight of the
infant at birth to be 3193.471 grams if the mother is unmarried. Also, the model predicts the
baby to be on average 95 grams heavier if the mother is married. R squared of 0.007 or 0.7% tells
us that only 0.7% of the variations in birth weight can be explained by the variation in the marital
status of the mother; 99.3% of the birth weight variations are due to other factors. This model
does show the correlation between the mother s marital status and child s birth weight; however,
it is impossible to say if there is a casual effect. The results are statistically significant at p 0.001 or
p 0.1%: there is 0.1% chance to observe the

  • 2. How Rock N Roll Changed America Essay Rock n roll has played a major role in some known historical developments post World War 2. Music plays a significant part in America s Cold War culture. Music gave us a sense of new technologies and helped the world to prosper. It also is linked with African Americans living in the South. Music was known for shaping the lives of the people during the 1950s and 1960s. Music was geared towards the youth, race, ethnicity, gender and class. All Shook Up: How Rock n Roll Changed America by Altschuler, Glenn C, tells us the story of the birth of rock and roll during the concrete years of 1955 to 1965. Altschuler gives us a overview of how rock n roll has an historical context. For two years the Times printed dozens of... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The rise of rock n roll and the reception of it, in fact, can tell us a lot about the culture and values of the United States in the 1950s. According to historians James Gilbert, there was a struggle throughout the decade over the uses of popular culture to determine who would speak to what audience, and for what purpose . At the center of that struggle, rock n roll unsettled a nation had been living in an age of anxiety since 1945 (p.15). Altschuler talks about how music and race interlock with one another. Rock had become a highly visible and contested arena for struggles over racial identity and cultural and economic empowerment in the United States (p.35). Other chapters within the book state the battles involving sexuality, generational conflicts, as well as other social issues. The author states ideas that are somewhat problematic. For example, he states that there is a myth that rock n roll went into a lull following the payola hearings (the practice of record promoters paying DJs or radio programmers to play their labels songs) of 1959 and did not come about again until the arrival of the Beatles in 1964. Rock n roll presented us with the emergence of a cultural phenomenon, which the book lays out for us. Altschuler sees rock as a metaphor for integration, as the focal point for anxiety that cultural life in the U.S. had become sexualized , a catalyst ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The main similarities taken away from the movie is the similarities between these two princes that is widely talked about is the characters friendships and the death of both of their fathers. The deaths of their fathers made them try and forget and redeem their deaths. The United States of America is facing problems a lot of people are either unaware of or just dont think its a big deal. Most of america think that our economy and government is in alright financial shape, That may not be the case though. America is in bad shape and it seems to be going down hill. America is declining in world power as well and this is just another factor leading to a crash in the future. Other nations are growing a lot more powerful than they have been in the past causing very big problems as a nation. There are a lot of people that think they have very solid arguments that america is in fine shape and no one has any reason to worry. They think the problems people talk about are no big deal amd that the nation can deal with them no problem. These reasons have some truth but for the most part they have a lot of things that other nations are in control of. The United States debt is over 19 trillion dollars, that is an insane amount of money and it is going up rapidly. People think this is ok because the US prints its own money so it is in control of its currency and debt. This is not a very good thing to think because if the United States tried to get out of debt by printing trillions more dollars than usual there would be a massive increase in inflation. Another argument is that Obama added to the debt to get the United States out of a recession. He did do this but it also caused us to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Religious Expression In Public Schools For many years, schools have struggled to decide on whether to give students the freedom of religious expression at school. This difficult topic is especially prevalent in many public schools today. Most public schools comply with the separation of church and state by instating rules against any kind of religious expression, essentially mandating conformity among students in terms of religious expression. Some schools, however, have decided to place no restrictions on religious expression. This serves to promote individualfreedom among students. Even if it may seem that schools strongly differ when it comes to religious expression, schools do have something in common pertaining to this issue. They all believe that the unique decision they... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... After all, it is the school s job to educate our future generation so they are equipped for a world containing a multitude of religious aspects even if doing so in an indirect manner. Providing students the freedom to practice whichever religion they choose restricts feelings of pressure to withhold their religious expression; something they would have to withhold in the name of conformity at some public schools. As students become inevitably educated about religion through religious expression around them, they steadily become less intolerant of other religions besides their own. The students become accepting of the reality that we live in where many different religious beliefs exist among people in all areas of life. This effect closely mirrors the attitude that these students will have towards religion in the real world. Not only does exposure to religious expression benefit the students and the school, but it furthermore benefits the world as a whole by moving the future generation away from religious intolerance. This creates a world where people can be comfortable and sure in their religion due to the lack of intolerance directed towards them. Currently, however, religiously motivated hate crimes are on the rise. In 2004, about 10 percent of all hate crimes were religiously motivatedв€’ compared to 28 percent today (Jackson 1). This is an example of religious intolerance in today s world which can be remedied by educating the future generation about religion through allowing religious expression at school. The religious tolerance that is subsequently developed among these students is what this world so desperately ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The separation of powers in our government, is the balance that was put in place so that no branch has too much power, and that each branch can override a decision, that one branch makes when it comes to policy. The three branches are the executive branch, which deals with the president, the legislative branch which deals with the House of Representatives and the Senate, and the Judicial Branch, which deals with the Supreme Court. Each branch has a separate job to do, and can influence policy in different ways. For example, the Supreme Court had overruled a policy that had said that schools could separate kids due to the color of the skin. The Famous court case of Brown v. Board of Education changed this policy and allowed kids to go to the same school, regardless of the color of their skin. • 8. Figurative Language In William Blake s The Tiger Martin Bennett Engl. 102 6/17/17 The Tiger, originally called The Tyger, is a lyric poem focusing on the nature of God and his creations. It was published in 1794 in a collection entitled Songs of Experience (1). Poetry Essay Outline Thesis: The Tiger is a poem by William Blake that routines a lot of underlying themes, throughout the writing. He asks a series of serious queries concerning the nature of God, and why he created the tiger. The theme of the poem is about God as the creator of good and evilthat leads the reader to think. The strongest literary element in William Blake s poem The Tyger, which is figurative language. Figurative language can be defined as anything said or written that means something beyond the literal meaning of the words that are used (2). The initial lines of Blake s poem are chock full of intense figurative language: Tyger! Tyger! burning bright, In the forests of the night, the tiger is not literally burning, of course, and this metaphor of fire and burning is carried out through the poem and takes on all sorts of associations, including an association with the infernal. Allusion also plays an important role in the poem. Stanza two includes an allusion to Icarus, who in classic myth attempts to fly to the sun ( ...what wings... ). The allusion mixes with the fire imagery, and the idea that the creator forges the tiger in fire, like a blacksmith. Stanza five contains an allusion to the fall of Satan from heaven (the stars ... • 10. The First Generation Of Stars The article printed in the Nature News on June 18, 2015 describes the first look at the first generation of stars that give way to the universe. These stars, most likely from the late developing cluster of the first generation of stars, are strong evidence of primordial stars. Primordial stars are stars that are considered the original stars of the universe, and the precursors to the rest of the stars and celestial bodies in the universe. David Sobral and his team at the University of Lisbon led the work in finding this cluster of stars in a bright galaxy, named COSMOS Redshift 7 (CR7). The team at the University of Lisbon used the Subaru Telescope in Hawaii to first detect the light spectrum from CR7, and used three additional telescopes to determine which of the distant bright galaxies the light originated. The Subaru Telescope is located in Mauna Kea, Hawaii, and is an 8.2 metre optical infrared telescope, operated by the National Astronomical Observatory of Japan ( Subaru telescope , n.d.). Situated in the summit of Mauna Kea, the telescope collects light using a mirror, and focuses the photons to create high resolution image. The mirrors in the telescope have a small error margin of 0.012 Ојm, which allows for the telescope to provide crisp images. The Subaru telescope were used to pan across the sky to look for light spectrum signals from distant bright galaxies. As the chief tribal leader of Umuofia, Okonkwo s upbringing causes him to develop the character traits of strength, courage, and perseverance. He holds firmly to his personal convictions and the traditions of Umuofia. However, Okonkwo s failures reveal his true moral code after he beats one of his wives and lies about it during the Week of Peace. Rather than adapting his convictions to the concerns and values of his community, Okonkwo clung to his traditional values at the cost of his relationships. Towards the end of his life, Okonkwo went into exile while Umuofia embraced the change and influence of Westerners. As Badaracco describes, a moral code must supersede personal convictions and adapt to the convictions and needs of the community. The opposition between Badaracco s moral flexibility and Kouzes and Posner s integrity of values is the primary determinant of moral values. The idea of moral flexibility is based on the external environment. In this situation, the determinant of a person s values is the environment and community a person finds him or herself in. The source of a moral code, according to moral flexibility, is not a set of unchanging principles, but harmony with the ever changing environment and the universal values of human dignity, love, and goodwill. On the other hand, the integrity of values is based on an internalized foundation of values. The determinant of these values is the individual s personal convictions based on unchanging ... • 14. The Effects Of The Tiananmen Square Protest Of China Contrary to the Ying and Yang s dependence on each other in Chinese philosophy, the people of China and their government could not depend on each other. The Tiananmen Square Protest of 1989 was a democratic movement calling for political and social reforms in China. This student led protest had been going on for many months but was forcefully oppressed by China s People s Liberation Army on the night of June third and fourth, 1989. The deaths that occurred as a consequence of the Tiananmen Square Protest was not the fault of the students, but rather, the disastrous situation China was in beforehand, the common belief that demonstrations would benefit the people, and the government s obstinate decisions. China was suffering from harsh living conditions prior to the massacre, which pushed the students to take action. To begin with, the country had been under intense economic pressure. After adopting a capitalist type economy, the country began suffering from rising inflation, declining wages, and increasing unemployment rates. The biggest department store sold two hundred times its usual monthly income. Fearing inflation would make living necessities unaffordable, citizens used all their savings to purchase items ahead of time, thus, creating a false demand and increasing debt. These are two areas that can formulate lengthy responses, and rather than limit what the client reports, ample room should be provided to allow for them to fully express their needs. • 19. The Effect Of Traffic On Major Cities By Running A Few... Traffic Lab ITEC 201 In this lab we will examine the impact of traffic on major cities by running a few test simulations as well as examining data on the topic. Please answer the following questions in detail. 1.What are some major challenges you feel cities face when dealing with and handling large amounts of traffic? What could be some potential solutions that could minimize some traffic congestion? When dealing with handling large amounts of traffic, cities may experience a higher incidence of accidents or speeding cars due to road rage. Cities also deal with risking driver safety because some drivers may be tired from long hours at work and do not have enough energy to stay awake throughout the hours of traffic on the road home every day. Traffic congestion not only affects car drivers, but it may also delay the trip of those who get to places on the bus and in taxi cabs as well. On city roads, traffic congestion may lead to the death of many pedestrians by car accident because drivers may become impatient and outrageously try to run red lights or not stop at the crosswalks. Also, the running engine in the high traffic may lead to high rates of air pollution. Some potential solution are to build bridges or streets around the city that are made mainly for public transportation services such as the city bus or taxi cab in order to reduce the number of frustrated drivers on one road. Also, cities may also arrange for road construction to be done at times when the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Government Classifying Marijuana One of the ways the government fits into how we classify using concepts is by altering our perception and in the process effecting the way we classify things and people. The government often does this through the laws and regulations that they create. High standing government officials that garner a great deal of respect may also alter our perceptions through speeches that they make. Sometimes the governmentand officials are trying to alter our perceptions in an attempt to make us classify things the way that they do, while other times our altered perceptions are an unintended consequence. Whether the altering of our perceptions is intentional or not it can and does affect the way that we classify things and people. The differences in the way people classify marijuana is a very good example of how the government laws and our own experiences effect our perceiving lenses and therefore the way we classify concepts. Society s Call For Action Society s Call for Action Mass media are forms of communication that generate messages for very large, very heterogeneous, and very anonymous audiences (Thompson et al. 93). Body image is a complicated aspect of the self concept that concerns an individual s perception and feelings about their body and physical appearance (Serdar 1). With the increasing percentage of today s females struggling with personal body image issues, the media has been criticized for playing a critical role in bringing body discontentment upon the female population; several theories help explain how this discontentment happens. Media is the primary public means used around the world to relay ideas, values, norms, attitudes and behaviors (Lopez Guimera et al.388). • 27. Essay on Analysis of Birches Analysis of Birches The discursive blank verse meditation Birches does not center on a continuously encountered and revealing nature scene; rather, it builds a mosaic of thoughts from fragments of memory and fantasy. Its vividness and genial, bittersweet speculation help make it one of Frost s most popular poems, and because its shifts of metaphor and tone invite varying interpretation it has also received much critical discussion, not always admiring. The poem moves back and forth between two visual perspectives: birch trees as bent by boys playful swinging and by ice storms, the thematic interweaving being somewhat puzzling. Frost s speaker then self consciously breaks from his realistic but metaphorically fantasied digression to say he would prefer to have some boy bend the birches, which action becomes a symbol for controlled experience, as contrasted with the genial fatality of ice storms. The boy s fancied playfulness substitutes for unavailable companionship, making for a thoughtful communion with nature, which rather than teach him wisdom allows him to learn it. Despite the insistence on the difference between ice storms permanent damage to birches and a boy s temporary effects, the boy subdues and conquers the trees. His swinging is practice for maintaining life s difficult and precarious balances. The third part of the poem begins with a more personal and philosophical tone. The speaker claims to have been such a youthful swinger of birches, an activity he can go back to only by dreaming. The birch trees, probably both ice bent and boy swung, stand for the order and control missing from ordinary experience. The considerations he is weary of are conflicting claims that leave him disoriented and stung. A SMART goal is Specific, Measurable, Actionable, Realistic, and Time based. Once SMART goals are in place use calendars to get organized. Keep a monthly calendar somewhere it can easily be seen to write down goals or deadlines. A whiteboard is one suggestion for a monthly calendar. Colors or symbols can be used on the calendars to quickly show what is urgent and what can be delegated. Use a weekly calendar and schedule class, study, work, and social time. When making a weekly calendar follow the rule one hour of lecture time equals 2 hours of study. Following this rule would give a person with 5 classes 30 hours of study time. The calendar created with the schedule will help to create a task list. A task list consists of things that need to be done now and things that can again be delegated. Flowers pollinated by honey bees in the middle of a field can be studied ecologically. For instance: the species of honey beeinhabiting this field of flowers can be analyzed, the amount of honey bees of this particular species found on this field can be calculated, and the factors affecting the honey bee populationcan be investigated. This form of ecological study is called population ecologyas it studies a single species population in a given area. Studying the interaction between the honey bees and the flowers, instead, goes to a different category of ecology called community ecology. Community ecology studies the relationships and interactions between different populations in a given location. Studying a broader scope like the structure and functions of all the biotic and abiotic factors of the field, including the honey bees and the flowers, dives into a different category of ecology which is called ecosystem ecology. • 37. Positive Economic Changes Of Industrial Automation Essay Positive Economic Changes of Industrial Automation by 2036 When a sect of society is faced with the imminent reality that its lifestyle will be disrupted by the advent of the latest technology, there ensues a massive ideological regression to the status quo. Historically, polls showed an aversion to technology, with only 28% of adults labelling themselves as early adopters of technology (Pew Research). A low percentage of early adopters creates a chasm of technology adoption, reinforced by the dissent of a vocal minority of technology conservatives. This aversion to technology is not drawn on by rational, evidence based conclusions, but rather, apocalyptic premonitions of the poorer livelihoods of average citizens. The common fear is that automation will kill jobs and create a high unemployment rate. Despite this hyperbolic scenario, the trope offers a starting point to analyze the scope of economic changes that would occur during a plausible future. Howl is more technical and gets straight to the point of the world whereas Song of Myself starts off with a happier side of the world. Whitman describes world as heaven and Ginsberg describes live as dark and evil. Where Whitman is less harsh and Ginsberg is very harsh. Also, Ginsberg uses a raw language to describe the world in a deeper perspective. In Song of Myself, Whitman describes the world as a hopeful place in which a lot can be done. He states, The atmosphere is not a perfume, it has no taste of the
distillation, it is odorless,

The suicide sprawls on the bloody floor of the bed room; I witness the corpse with its dabbled hair I note where the pistol has fallen (lines 150 153), Ginsberg replies with, who created great suicidal dramas on the apartment cliff banks of the Hudson under the wartime blue floodlight of the moon their heads shall be crowned with laurel in oblivion (line 46). These two quotes stand out and seem that they are replying to one other. In lines 150 168 in Song of Myself , he discussed that he has been through many experience in one, which is horrifying as children committing suicide. Ginsberg replies to this as if they have committed suicide they should be honored and given the status of a hero for such bravery. Ginsberg way of discussing suicide is more intense than Whitman s. Ginsberg definition of suicide is the resort of pain and suffering and that leads to being honored because it takes a lot of will to go through the agony. Whitman see s the suffering but ignores it because it s a part of how the world is and he cannot be judgmental of whom ever is suicidal because he accepts that the world consists of life and ... • 47. Nervous System Vs Endocrine System Each process, which takes place in the human body, should be regulated. The two systems, which perform regulation, are the nervous system and the endocrine system. The nervous system is concerned with fast responses to certain environmental or internal stimuli. In contrast, the endocrine system is responsible of the slower control mechanisms, which address the long term processes, such as circadian rhythms and growth. The endocrine organs are capable of production of messengers, or hormones, which are released into blood. With blood flow, the hormones reach their target organs and interact with specific receptors, causing certain regulatory effect on the target organ (Chrousos, 2007). Review On Iris Based Attendance System Review on Iris Based Attendance System Introduction: Biometric authentication is the process of verifying an individual based on behavioral and physiological characteristics. Iris recognition verification is one of the most reliable personal identification methods in biometrics. In the beginning, the idea of using iris patterns for personal identification was originally proposed in 1936 by ophthalmologist Frank Burch. By the 1980 s the idea had appeared in James Bond films, but it still remained science fiction and conjecture. As biometric of human for identification purpose which cannot be stolen or lost. From the biometric system there exist different types of biometric such as thumb recognition, palm recognition, face recognition and iris recognition etc. Amongst which the iris is more preferred. The reason for the popularity of iris recognition verifying is the uniqueness, stability, permanency and easily taking. Iris recognition system is highly protected and stable that results in a single enrolment for the lifetime. The unique pattern on the surface of the iris is formed during the first year of life. Formation of the unique patterns of the iris is random and not related to any genetic factors. The only characteristic that is dependent on genetics is the pigmentation of the iris, which determines its color. Our website is called Greenriding and there are some games and quizzes that teach you about air pollution. During this game you earn points and you can trade it in for coupons and the coupon is sent to the person by email, and comes in a printable PDF. These coupons can be traded in for things that help air pollution(free smog checks, free tire inflation, free shuttle rides, and free tune ups). The reason our proposal is mainly focused on learning lessons, to earn points, to get coupons, is because actually keeping your car in good shape is a huge impact on the environment. Also getting your car checked out, and fixed soon after your engine light goes on, can improve your mileage by more than 30%. The second part of Greenriding is a car and shuttle system called Greenrides. You can either rent a shuttle bus for multiple people, or you could rent an individual car for just a few people. To become a member of the Greenrides program, you pay $25 per year. You get the individual car rides for free, but would still pay $10 per shuttle ride. • 51. A Message Of The Fellow By The Name Of Rowan In A Message to Garcia, Hubbard wrote, How the fellow by the name of Rowan took the letter, sealed it over his heart, in four days landed by night off the coast of Cuba from an open boat, disappeared into the jungle, and in three weeks came out on the other side of the Island, having traversed a hostile country on foot and delivered his letter to Garcia are things I have no special desire now to tell in detail. Then, Hubbard explained, here was a rare man who had the ingredients for success that are needed everywhere. Rowan immediately set out to do what he was asked to do and he did it. There were no excuses or foot dragging. He didn t demand that someone furnish him with detailed plans of how to accomplish this assignment. He didn t hesitate. He didn t waste time. He didn t give up, although there were plenty of temptations to do so. He stayed focused on his goal, partly because he saw how it fit with a much larger goal. He was tough and tenacious. All of which are key characteristics for a successful worker. Something to take note of was that Rowan was recommended to President McKinley to delivering the message to Garcia. This means that people were aware that Rowan was the most capable to complete the difficult task. He was already known by others to be a man that gets his work done under any circumstance. Hubbard continues and mentions that after Rowan was given the job, he went to work without further questions. Rowan is portrayed to be the ideal worker in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 53. A Causal Effect Of Mother s Marital Status On Child s... Is there a causal effect of mother s marital status on child s birth weight? Childbearing among unmarried women has been the subject of intense public policy and public health concern for decades, much of it reflecting concerns about the impact of family structure and the economic security on children s health and mental well being. This report examines dataset on births in NYC in 2001 to establish if there is a causal effect between nonmarital birth and low birth weight. Let us first examine the apparent effect of mother s marital status during childbearing on infants weight by running a simple regression analysis where we use married as a dummy variable and child s birth weight as a dependent variable. We have the following results: Birth weight (in grams) = 3193.471 + 94.994*married The model predicts that on average, the weight of the infant at birth to be 3193.471 grams if the mother is unmarried. Also, the model predicts the baby to be on average 95 grams heavier if the mother is married. R squared of 0.007 or 0.7% tells us that only 0.7% of the variations in birth weight can be explained by the variation in the marital status of the mother; 99.3% of the birth weight variations are due to other factors. This model does show the correlation between the mother s marital status and child s birth weight; however, it is impossible to say if there is a casual effect. The results are statistically significant at p 0.001 or p 0.1%: there is 0.1% chance to observe the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
