Belconnen Earthquake
On Saturday, the 3rd of November a 6.0 earthquake hit the Westfield Belconnen mall in Canberra.
The earthquake frightened many in the mall and went outside. The damage that was caused inside
the epicenter was moderate. Pictures and books in stores fell down. Dishes, glass wear and
windows were broken during the earthquake. Some of the heavy furniture was moved around
during the earthquake. Plaster in the mall varying between considerable and large amounts.
Chimneys cracked and some of the walls cracked. Some tiles and bricks were loosened and the
corner to the 1st entrance way came off. Major destruction was caused to the weakest parts of the
mall. Water pipes in the mall were ruined and the electricity stopped for about an hour, which was
disruptive for shops that had electrical appliances or stores that sold game consoles and
computers. Stores that had food in them had to shut down and remove the food. They then had to
find other places to store the food since fridges weren t working. There was also some damage that
was outside of the epicenter. The damage spanned... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Charlemagne Or Charles The Great
Charlemagne or Charles the Great, (747 814) was one of the most significant people during the
Middle Ages, playing a key role in defining the shape and character of Medieval Europe.
Considered the Father of Europe , Charlemagne reigned as King of the Franks (768 814) and
became the first Holy Roman Emperor (800 814). He created a great empire as he dramatically
expanded the Frankish Kingdom in a series of conquests that united most of Western Europe for the
first time since the Roman Empire. He also introduced many governmental, cultural and economic
reforms to further his great Carolingian Empire. Additionally the Emperor fostered the Carolingian
renaissance, a time of great cultural and intellectual revival and reinforced the Christian foothold on
Europe.
Charlemagne s role in Medieval Europe was as a complete leader and emperor, one that effectively
managed every aspect of his empire. As King of the Franks, Charlemagne played the role of a
warrior king, constantly engaged in warfare and through his conquests he no longer ruled a
Kingdom but a veritable empire. When the fall of the Roman Empire led to its dissolution in
Western Europe, it caused a fragmented collection of Kingdoms. As Charlemagne united these
fragments he needed to reconstruct the structures of a complex society and maintain unity within
his realm, which was complicated by the differences between his people. Due to this, Charlemagne
s role was as an effective administrator, and he instituted many

Information Security Threats to the Banking Industry

Information Security Threats to the Banking Industry
To start off with I chose to go with our banking or financial industry. The banking industry is
constantly getting attacked by various methods on a daily basis. I chose this industry because I
happen to know someone who works in the security sector at Wells Fargo Bank, he was a good
person to get information on what he sees on a daily or weekly basis. This paper is the opinion of
myself and with gathered information from various resources. The three main threats that face the
banking industry are; Organized crime targeting financial ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

This would halt if not shut down the entire bank for the day depending on how severe the attack
was. In most cases the banks have a backup system in place in the event of these types of security
breeches as well as natural disasters. During a security breech within the banking system everyone
who does business with that bank and other banks who do business with that bank could all be
effected if the breech went far enough before being discovered. The security teams within the
banking system must always be constantly checking for attempts or attacks on their systems. Below
is a list and description of the most common types of attacks on the banking or financial industry.
Organized Crime targeting Financial Institutions Cyber crimes from criminal organizations has
risen over the past few years many of these have been located overseas and most of them have been
based in Eastern Europe that hire and direct hackers on what they want done. The statement has
been made that the battle lines between cyber attacks by organized crime reaches far wider than
just an institution s firewalls. One such organized cybercrime unit is the Russian Business Network
they are one of the more well known criminal organizations delving into the global networks of the
financial institutions. Assault on Authentication These types of

Holistic Percpective Study
1. A holistic percpective What the text basically tells me about a holistic perspective is that
anthropologist will study anything that are human or similar to human. They will continue to study
Homo sapiens for as long as they have a human state and they will study anyware back to the time
when humans were only just starting to adapt to tool use and social behavior. 2. Fieldwork What I
read from the text about A anthropologists fieldwork is pretty interesting. The fieldwork that is
done by an anthropologist is to completely immerse oneself the culter of another. Doing that is the
only true way to understand that culters way of life and to truley gane insight about it. A
anthropologist will completely forget about there own culter and act as if there culter they are
studying is the there own. This is usually done by living with the people that the anthropologist is
studing, completely surrounding themself by there culter.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The comparitve method The comparitive method is basically a way of doing research.
Anthropologists dont just use the data from one study or experiment they do many different studys
so that they can compare them. For example if someone does a second study after they had already
done a first one they might find that the results are nothing like the first studies results. The more
studies that are done the more accurate the data will

How I Become An Electrician
How to Become an Electrician Last summer, I worked for an electrician company that helped
open my eyes to all the possibilities that I could do in the world, and becoming an electrician was
one of them. Since I have worked at the company, becoming an electrician is definitely something I
want to learn more about. In this essay, I want to further my knowledge on how to become an
electricianby uncovering the process that I need to know to become one. Also, the difference
between choosing to become a union or non union electrician if it is what I choose to do. The
first step to becoming an electrician is to do some preliminary schooling. This relates to taking
relevant high school classes if you previously had an interest in becoming an electrician or at the
collegiate level (How to Become . . . ). Kirkwood offers a few programs to help give you some of
the basics. Their industrial maintenance and electrical engineeringprograms can both help you get
ready to get into an apprenticeshipprogram The industrial maintenance technology program is
very broad, and covers basics in a lot of trades and not only electrical (Industrial Technology).
The electrical engineering program is designed to specifically focus on the electrical trade.
Kirkwoods electrical engineering program is designed so that once you complete it, that all the
credits will transfer to UNI to keep on pursuing the program (Electronics Engineering). Also, taking
preliminary classes will help increase the odds of

Iqp Reflection
Course History International and Global Studies INTL1100 This is one of the best classes to
take to prepare for the IQP, which is why I took it. I have Professor Hansen, and he was great to
have because he is very knowledgeable in the IQP processes. I learned about different cultures,
governments, finances, and most importantly, how to learn a society, and make beneficial
changes to it. This skill was learned through the global competency project. In this project, I
participated in group work, analyzed analytical data about counties poverty, heath issues, and
education, and presented our findings on a poster. This class also required me to attend the
global fair as a freshman. I was a little scared going, because I was a little freshman, wandering
around not knowing what to do. But it was great practice for my sophomore year, where I engaged
in conversation with past participants at the IQP locations. International Studies very relevant to
and off campus IQP because it taught me that countries are very different, and I need to be ready to
adapt to a new lifestyle, but most importantly, have fun doing it. Intermediate Mechanics PH2201
Intermediate Mechanics has been the most challenging class I have taken at WPI. This prompted
lots of teamwork. As a team, we read the textbook, learned how to do the problems, spent many
nights working late, and ended up succeeding in the class. I learned more about teamwork than I
thought from this class. It is important to work together

Difference Between Formal And Informal Learning
The text being analyzed is Informal vs. Formal learning: What s the Difference. Firstly, this text
was chosen because it contains a meaning of informal and formal learning, which is interesting
because it seems like there are only two ways of learning in life. Firstly, this text was chosen
because it contains a simplistic meaning of what informal and formallearningis. Furthermore, the
text states that formal learning is like a bus, the driver decides where the bus is going, and the
passengers are along with the ride (Cournoyer 2012). Additionally, this is an interesting way to
explain formal learning because there is one force that is in control of how everyone is
supposed to learn. In this example, the person driving the bus is independent of driving while
the passengers are dependent to when the driver makes it s stops. The point to make across is
that if the formal force makes an error, then the people who are not the force are at risk. Secondly,
informal learning is like a bike because the rider chooses the destination, and the route. Formal
learning has much more structure than informal learning because informality has more flexibility.
Formal learning is considered to have more control over the learning experience (Cournoyer
2012). The article from class being analyzed here is Welcome to The World Is a Text by Johnathan
Silverman and Dean Rader. Firstly, the article is about how people experience reading through a
formal and informal way. Interestingly, people

How to efficiently minimize the usage of plastic and paper?
This research question aims to think deeper on the circumstances of the overuse of plastic and
paper, and what could happen more to the animals/birds, our environment, and our bodies if
consumers keep on using plastic and paper products. This research question should be asked to raise
awareness to users and most importantly designers, so they consider using other eco friendly

The Rising Health Anxieties For The United States
The continuous rising health anxieties for the United States, adolescence is the increasing rate of
teenagers that are going through an outburst with diverse sexual transmitted diseases. Sexually
transmitted diseases (STDs) are infections that you can get from having sexual intercourse with
someone who has the infection(s) and or are creating one through that exposing period. The causes
of STDs are surrounded by multiple bacteria, parasites and viruses invading the areas used during
intercourse, such as oral, anal and through regular sexual encounters. There are more than 20 types
of STDs (Nursingceu), including the following: Hepatitis, Chlamydia, Herpes, Scabies, Syphilis,

Teen sexual health standpoints must be lifted to lodge the up to date compressions, myths, and
the realities of the pressures and dangerous outcomes that the new generation is facing or if
misinformed will soon face, in the relations of beginning to be sexually active and living a
healthy and cautious sexual life in order to protect the teens from continuing to see high rates of
STD reduction and transmission. The youth today may not see that infections and diseases are
carried through the people they may surround themselves with. Not only can people get these
illnesses through sexual encounters, but also through person to person contact. Infectious diseases
are those that are transmitted from person to person by direct or indirect contact. Viruses,
bacteria, parasites, and fungi all cause infectious disease. Malaria, measles, and respiratory
illnesses are examples of infectious diseases. (Health Line) It is important for the youth to receive
notice of these facts. Parents do not really give much of a talk when it comes to this subject,
because they feel since their children have health class they ll learn everything they need to learn
through there. Health class does cover some minor cautionary risks to diseases, but do not give the
information that needs to be conducted towards their classrooms. Sex education should be
considered to be a required class during their freshman year. Their

Why Cursive Needs To Go
Cursive Needs to go
How many people use cursive for day to day writing, probably not a lot of people. Most people
keyboard and print. Maybe sometime later bills will be paid on computers and checks won t
require cursive. This passage will include how much percent of people use cursive compared to
print, why cursive shouldn t be added back to standards, and why cursive is a dead skill. Cursive
is a dead skill because, most teachers never taught or stoped teaching to their students. The reason
cursive needs to go is because there is no reason why educators should add cursive to Common
Core because it undermines the strength of standards. In the article Let Cursive Handwriting Die it
says, Very small proportions of adults use cursive for... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the article Handwriting matters; Cursive Doesn t it says, The fastest clearest handwriters join
only some letters making the easiest joins, skipping others using print like forms of letters whose
cursive and printed forms disagree. This has been the second reason why cursive should die.
Most people think that cursive is great however, why use cursive when it s a dead skill. Most
people keyboard too. Teachers should be focused on teaching their kids the skills in common core
but, if they have time to teach then teach but other than that don t teach it. Speaking of common
core it s full of skills that need to be taught over cursive these skills include math, science(biology,
earth, etc.), Language Arts, Social Studies. This has been the last reason why cursive should die.
Cursive is a dead skill because teachers don t teach their students it anymore and nobody uses
cursive. These things were mentioned in this passage, How much percent of people use cursive,
why it shouldn t be added back to the common core, and why cursive is a dead. Cursive is indeed a
dead skill why try to bring something back that s dead. Nobody uses it and it s hard to

Business Merger Between Lenovo And Motorola Mobility
Business Combination between Lenovo and Motorola Mobility Details of company acquired
Lenovo is a Chinese multinational computer technology company operating in more than 60
countries and selling its products in around 160 countries. Motorola, an American company,
focus on making cell phones and other electronics. In recent years, Motorola has experienced a
bad financial situation and in 2011 Motorola split into two separate companies, Motorola
Mobility and Motorola Solutions. In August 2011, Google acquired Motorola Mobility using
about US$12.5 billion. In 2014, October 30, Lenovo announced that they have already finished
the acquisition of Motorola Mobility from Google and they will operate the Motorola as a
wholly owned subsidiary. Lenovo paid Google about US$2.9 billion to complete this transaction
which included approximately US$660 million in cash and US$750 million ordinary stock issued
by Lenovo. The remaining US$1.5 billion will be paid to Google by using three year promissory
note. In this paper, we just consider the transaction between Lenovo and Motorola Mobility.
Allocation of acquisition differential (see Exhibit 1) The purchase consideration paid for 100% of
Motorola Mobility was $3.09 billion, including cash paid, consideration shares, deferred
consideration and share based compensation obligation assumed by the company. The acquisition
differential is therefore $1.224 billion. We calculated it by finding the difference between the

Apple Vs. Fbi Case
Apple vs. FBI In today s society, technology has become one of the most used and most sought
after developments of the millennium. In a recent case the FBI petitioned for Apple to unlock the
phone of Syed Farook, the man responsible for shooting and killing 14 people in San Bernardino,
California. The FBI believed Apple should create a new software that would not erase the data
from iPhones after ten failed attempts to unlock the phone. Apple replied that they had a
responsibility and an obligation to protect the privacyof their customers. Supporters of Apple s
response have argued, creating a new software was not a wise decision. In the past, government
agencies have been known for their abuse of power. Had Apple chosen to create a master key
for this particular case, there would be no limit to government invasion of privacy. In the end
Apple could have potentially lost costumers by changing the protection of their cellular
products. The issue has already been raised that creating software to access one locked device
could potentially open the door for hackers to invade millions of other people s devices. I agree
that Apple should not create a new software to unlock the phone because once a master lock is
created there are no limitations to who or how the coding can be used. Although this case seems
unique in matter the government has a history of invading the privacy of American companies and
citizens. In 2013, the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) filed a brief

Argumentative Essay On Propaganda
By the skillful and sustained use of propaganda, one can make a people see even heaven as hell
or an extremely wretched life as paradise (Adolf Hitler). Long before the term Propaganda came
to be, the act of controlling the public s mindsets and opinions was still being practiced ever since
mankind came to be. People with ideas want to influence their beliefs on others. Propaganda goes
way back to the early times. In 1622, Pope Gregory XIII settled De Propaganda Fide which
translates to the Congregation for Propagating the Faith, which was a committee of cardinals of the
Roman Catholic Church. The De Propaganda Fide was intended to disperse Catholicism into
Christian beliefs. Propaganda remained a religious term throughout the 18th and part of the 19th
century. Propaganda began as ideologies inculcated by the Catholic Church. The people were
persuaded by their faith rather than on the reason. In 1939, Propaganda was the seed that rooted
World War II. Truth is, World War II was not just a battle between countries but a battle after
people s minds. Propaganda has the power to change people s opinions through art. Nowadays,
persuasive techniques are used in almost every fast food restaurant ads. The amount of
Propaganda one is exposed to on a daily basis is bizarre.
It is a beautiful terrible tool that can blindfold many into believing whatever is being told to them
by persuasion. According to Merriam Webster s dictionary, propaganda is Ideas, facts, or

The Alumni Of The University Council Essay
Engaged to improve the experiences of other like minded individuals As we saw in the first
subtheme, the Black alumni in this study who are engaged with Cornell are usually engaged
through an affinity association in order to spend time with like minded individuals. Those
alumni who are also involved in other aspects of Cornell choose to do so in order to address the
needs of alumni of color and future students of color or to feel a part of the process of change
through holding leadership roles. Malcolm enjoyed being part of university council because it made
him feel connected to Cornell. He had an active role in helping the university communicate its
mission to other alumni and spent time with other campus leaders with similar goals. He was also
involved with interviewing potential students. Now he is only engaged through CBAA. He states:
The most exciting and connectedness I felt was the Cornell University Council, which I was on for

Q Waves Research Paper
Q waves are a sign of previous myocardial infarction. The Q wave is defined as the first
downward deflection after the P wave. It may be present and it can be absent in a normal ECG.
The Q wave represents the depolarization of the interventricular septum. Never to be considered
abnormal if it is missing from any particular lead. The QRS complexis a name for the combination
of three of the graphical deflections seen on a typical electrocardiogram. The Q wave is usually the
central and most visually obvious part of the tracing. The Q wave corresponds to the depolarization
of the right and left ventricles of the human heart. For adults it will normally last 0.06 0.10 s; in

Pathologic Q waves occur when the electrical signal passes through stunned or scarred heart
muscle; as such, they are usually markers of previous myocardial infarctions, with subsequent
fibrosis. A pathologic Q wave is said to have a defection amplitude of 25% or more of the
subsequent R wave, or being 0.04 s (40ms) in width and 2mm in amplitude. Diagnosis requires the
presence of this pattern in more than one corresponding lead. The point where the QRS complex
meets the ST segment is the J point. The J point is easy to identify when the ST segment is
horizontal and forms a sharp angle with the last part of the QRS complex. When the ST segment is
sloped or the QRS complex is wide, the two features do not form a sharp angle and the location of
the J point is less clear. In conclusion, the Q wave once developed usually never go away for good.

The average of homeless women is lower than men and most of this is under 25years of age.
Women are more likely to get married and have children and maintained their family contact but
they are likely to have family violence, abusive relationship with their partners. A report shows
that four in ten women are sexually abused (Sweetman 1997). According to (Passaro 2014) there

Nuclear Energy Synthesis Essay
Across the United States 104 nuclear reactors generate around 20% of the nation s electricity.
While worldwide 436 nuclear reactors generate about 15% of the world s supply every year
(Carson). Some people feel as though we need to expand the fleet of nuclear reactors and increase
nuclear power production. Nuclear energy may be one of the best ways to combat global warming
and reduce CO2 emissions, however if the radiation and nuclear waste that it produces is better for
our environment than the CO2 is still uncertain. In the United States the nuclear powerplants use
uranium235 as the nuclear fuel to produce energy. Most of the uranium that the United States uses
is found in Wyoming and New Mexico (Nuclear Energy). U 235 is mined using methods similar to
other ores. However when the uranium is mined it can expose the miners to radiation.... Show more

The spent fuel rods and the other products produced by the nuclear fuel process are highly
reactive. This waste must be stored in very safe and secure locations for tens of thousands of
years, which is periods longer than the history of most governments the world has seen as the
former Atomic Energy Commission put it (Carson). The uranium that is used in the reactors has a
half life, that is long it takes for half the nuclei in the radioactive material to decay, of 10,000 years,
while plutonium, another nuclear fuel, has a half life close to 25,000 (Carson). Some say that it is
too much of a burden to place on future generations to be able to properly monitor and maintain
waste dumps that will last 20 times the length of known civilization. As Michio Kaku put it in

in order to project power from abroad. Porter argues that the withdrawal of America s military
supervision would see the re emergence of natural checks against predatory behavior. Douglas
Stuart s previously mentioned critical aspect of containment must be considered in recent context.
China is already displaying aggressive behavior through the expansion of its military footprint onto
the Spratly Islands. In one year s time China managed to turn a submerged reef into an island
complex complete with a radar station and air strip. Additionally, the Chinese government rejected
The Hague s ruling that China has no rights to the disputed portions of the South China Sea, all the
while continuing with the reclamation of additional islands that are claimed by several other
stakeholders in the region. Porter mentions that the tenuous nature of balancing within the East and
Southeastern Asia regions was negated in 2007 when China issued threats in response to planned
military exercises between the U.S., India, Japan, and Australia. India and Australia ended up
forgoing the military

My Favorite Movies
Whenever I was dealing with any stress or problems, I would go to the movie theatre and sit
down and immerse myself in a two hour long film. And all of a sudden all my problems were not
an issue. It s like if the smell of fresh popcorn, sweet candy, and thirst quenching soda was a
doctor s recommendation. The sound of crowds waiting eager to see an upcoming flick they ve
been anxious about pleased my ears; this atmosphere of innocence and joy caused me to make
this theatre my safe haven. I always found it fascinating how long it takes for movies to be
made, so at the end of every movie I had an itch that said you can do that too. Then after
watching an abundance of movies I finally scratched what I had felt. It was the beginning itch to
become a filmmaker. This was in my 8th grade year and I initially thought this must be a phase,
because my mom said so. At the time I had no equipment ,no knowledge of how cameras or
editing actually work, so maybe my mom was right, maybe it was all phase. Like I had said
going to the movies was almost like a routine. Most of the movies I watched were made with
computer generated imagery, green screens, or a budget so big it made your jaw drop. However
this caused me to think how were movies made twenty or even thirty years ago. This began the
love of watching 80 s movies. E.T. , Breakfast Club, and Back to the Future, sparked the thought I
don t need high budgets to make memorable movies. Yet, it wasn t till watching a filmmade in 1986

Essay on Minorities in Song of Solomon
Minorities within Minorities in Song of Solomon
In a study about minorities, the groups that are differing from the dominant culture are seen as
homogeneous. But, if we look deeper into the groups, we can see that there are distinctions among
the minorities concerning lifestyle and social status. In Toni Morrison s Song of Solomon the
author provides examples in the background of the story that shows people with differential
identities of the general identity of the minority group.
The character Macon Dead and his family is represented as differing from the society they live in
with their social status. They are rich and try to live like white people. It is important for Macon

It is not for the sake of his family or to have fun, but to make everybody see his car. These rides
were a way to satisfy himself that he was indeed a successful man (31). It is impressive how
Morrison reflects Macon s desires in life with the route of the Sunday rides: ...through the rough
part of town, over the bypass downtown, and headed for the wealthy white neighborhoods (32).
The difference between Milkman and his father is that he was born rich and does not have the
ambitions of his father. But, because of the way he was raised, he cannot prevent himself from
acting different from the African American society. In fact, we see that he has only Guitar as a
friend. He likes to spend time with women in parties. The result of his wealthy life and the fact that
he was raised in a city shows us his distinction from the society when he arrives in Shalimar.
When Milkman talks with the shopkeeper Mr. Solomon, he grows up the anticipation of the people
around him. The reasons why they are offended by Milkman is clearly stated in the following
passage:
They looked with hatred at the city Negro who could buy a car as if it were a bottle of whiskey
because the one he had was broken. And what s more, who had said so in front of them. He hadn t
bothered to say his name, nor ask theirs, had called them them, and would certainly despise their
days, which should have been spent harvesting their own crops, instead of waiting around

My Best Girlfriend Was A Jehovah s Witness
It wasn t as if we were all alike where I grew up, even in that small Idaho town of eleven hundred
people. My best girlfriend was a Jehovah s Witness, a boy I dated in high school was a Mormon,
and the town undertakers were Seventh Day Adventists. The prettiest girl in town s father was
black, and down the valley some Japanese farmers owned land, but that was pretty much it, except
for the Basque sheepherders who brought their herds through Long Valley in springtime, and the
original Finn settlers, some of whom still spoke the language. I never thought much about how
insular we were until the Walkersadopted Elvira from Mexico. The Walkers were friends of my
parents and sometimes Mr. Walker worked with Dad on construction jobs. I remember the summer
I was four our families lived in tents back in the hills, and my motherwashed clothes on a
washboard, because Dad and Mr. Walker were building Brown s Logging Camp. Mrs. Walker
taught me to draw trees and I still have the results, a crayon colored mountain scene, because
Mother saved it in my scrapbook, just as she saved the note Mrs. Walker wrote that thanked Mother

Canadian Commitment In Canadian Peacekeeping
Canadians pride themselves on being a peacekeeping country and many believe that peacekeeping
represents a defining aspect of Canadian identity because it reflects fundamental values, beliefs and
interests. Canada has been a leader in peace operations since its development that spearheaded by a
Canadian. In fact, Canadas role as peacekeeper remains the main focus of the Canadian military
after its invention around 60 years ago, originally started by a Canadian. Their efforts have gained
an international reputation for Canada as a significant contributor to international peace and
stability. While Canada has an exemplary history in UN peacekeeping, the current extent of its
contribution, both in terms of peacekeeping personnel and percentage of funds to peacekeeping
missions, are on a clear decline. The belief that Canada is a peacekeeping country is misguided
because recent Canadian commitment shows a sharp decline in Canadian participation in UN
peacekeeping. Surprisingly, as of March 2007, Canada ranked 59th out of 114 countries in terms of
military and police contributions to UN operations. Despite Canadian declined involvement in
peacekeeping during the last decade, it still remains a valuable and important mission that greatly
deserves Canadian resources including monetary support, resources and personnel.

and why it is important.
The critical path method (CPM) is a step by step project management technique for process
orchestrating that defines critical and non critical tasks with the goal of averting time frame
quandaries and process bottlenecks. The CPM is ideally suited to projects consisting of numerous
activities that interact in an involute manner. Then the connections between the tasks, kenned as

What steps can be taken to make controlling costs easier?
The budget process is the way an association goes about building its financial plan. A decent
planning procedure draws in the individuals who are in charge of sticking to the monetary
allowance and actualizing the association s destinations in making the financial backing. Both
money board of trustees and ranking staff cooperation is incorporated with the procedure and a
timetable is built up leaving sufficient time for examination, survey, criticism, corrections, and so
forth before the monetary allowance is prepared for presentation to the full load up. The yearly
planning procedure ought to be archived, with errands, obligation assignments and due dates
unmistakably expressed. A decent planning process additionally fuses vital arranging activities
and stipulates that salary is planned before costs. Altered expenses are distinguished and
identified with solid income. Planning choices are driven both by mission needs and financial
responsibility. My task is top down planning which begins at the highest point of an association
and is passed on to lower offices. There are a few upsides and downsides to this sort of spending
plan control. Top down planning can be something to be thankful for on the grounds that lower
administration does not need to require some investment to set up the monetary allowance. This is
a period saver for lower administration, who are more included in the operational process instead

Background: Calorimetry is the science of measuring the heat of chemical reactions or physical
changes. Calorimetry is performed with a calorimeter. A calorimeter can be any container from a
cup to a Calorimeters need to be well insulated as calorimetry relies on the fact that temperature
change only occurs within the solution and that no heat escapes to the surroundings. That is why it
is important that calorimeters are well insulated. However, heat loss cannot be avoided so
scientists, when conducting experiments, need to choose the calorimeter that allows least heat
energy to escape, therefore, retaining as much heat within the solution

Procedure:
1. Rinse both measuring cylinders with distilled water then rinse one measuring cylinder with
hydrochloric acid (HCl) and another with sodium hydroxide (NaOH) 2. Using one of the
disposable pipettes, measure 40cm3 of NaOH (1.0M) in the measuring cylinder you rinsed with
NaOH and pour this into Calorimeter #1 (Glass Beaker). Place thermometer inside solution 3.
Using the other disposable pipette, measure 40 cm3 of HCl (1.0M) in the other measuring
cylinder 4. Now record initial temperature of NaOH on the thermometer 5. Add the 40cm3 of
HCl to the NaOH solution, close the calorimeter with the lid (making sure that the thermometer
sticks through the hole) and start the stopwatch 6. Since the reaction is very quick, record the
temperature every 5 seconds for 45 seconds. If the temperature doesn t reach a stable value after
45 seconds, continue to take readings of temperature 7. Wash glass beaker with distilled water and
repeat steps 1 6 with same calorimeter 2 more times 8. Repeat steps 1 7 with Calorimeter #2

The change for women during the late 1930s through to the end of WWII
With women during the late 1930s, they began to contribute more to the economy due to how it
would mean for a bit more income to support their families. Thus, when more years passed on by
more women thought they should have the same amount of equal rights just as the men did. So,
these women who wanted to fight for this cause would then create movements and protest. Even
some women believed that African American women deserved the exact same rights as the men
and white women, so they African Americans did protest and movements of their own. Then, once

Argumentative Essay On Korean War
Pre World War III: Korean War
In this seemingly peaceful world, the Korean Peninsula has been seen as one of the hottest potatoes

settled with just an armistice since the tension of the war became so intense between not only two
Koreans, but other major countries such as Russia, China, and the United States. Even an armistice
of the war, there still remains severe tensions in the Korean Peninsula and because of this, questions

between two Koreans have been brought up to historians. And to the answers to the questions about

The prophets are difficult to interpret mainly due to misunderstandings about their function and
form (Fee/Stuart p182). Most dictionaries define the word prophecy as foretelling or prediction of
what is to come. Using the prophets in this way is highly discerning, for less than 2% of OT
prophecy is messianic; less than 5% describes the new covenant age and less than 1% concerns
future events (Fee/Stuart p182). The prophets usually announced the immediate future of Judah,
Israel and the surrounding nations, rather than our future. Those events were forthcoming for them
but past for us (Fee/Stuart p182). The primary function of prophets as a spokesperson was to speak

The Exegetical Task: Some parts of the Bible call for time and patient revision to understand.
Some people find help in Bible dictionaries, commentaries and Bible handbooks (Fee/Stuart
p189). Fee and Stuart feels that everyone needs to understand both the prophets era and the
context of a single oracle (Fee/Stuart p190). The words spoken by the prophets at a variety of
times and places are written down without any indication as to where one oracle ends and another
begins (Fee/Stuart p193). The prophets employed an assortment of literary forms. 3 of the most
common are: The lawsuit , God is portrayed as the plaintiff, prosecuting attorney and judge against
the defendant, Israel (Fee/Stuart p194). The Woe, Woe oracles implicitly or explicitly contain an
announcement of distress, the reason for distress and a prediction of doom. The promise , This
contains an allusion to the future, a mention of radical change and blessing (Fee/Stuart p195).
Hermeneutical Suggestions: What is God s word to us through these inspired oracles, spoken in
another time to God s people? Once we understand what God said to them then, we will hear it
again in our own surroundings (Fee/Stuart p199). The prophets messages were concentrated on the
near rather than the distant future (Fee/Stuart p200). Sometimes the New Testament makes

Duches a poem from Duffy, one form Armitage and another from the pre

My Last Duchess was written by Robert Browning and published in 1842.
It is based on a real person. Alfonso, Duke of Ferrara (1537 1597), married fourteen year old
Lucrezia de Medici in 1158 when he was twenty one. Three years later she was killed, possibly
poisoned. The
Duke then arranged to marry the daughter of the count of Tyrol. As was customary at the time, the

Although we assume from the poem that the Duke murdered the Duchess the Duke never says
unambiguously or openly that he killed his wife or even got anyone else to do it for him.
However there are points throughout the poem that indicate the Duchess annoyed the Duke. He
thinks that the Duchess should be more dignified and not so easily impressed. Specifically he
faults her for finding equal pleasure in four things as if they are not at all of equal value.
* The white mule that she rode
* The Sun setting
* A gift of fruit from an unnamed courtier
The Duke emphasises in lines 31 33 that it was good for her to show gratitude, but bad that she
considered anybody s gift with his gift of giving her his family name which is nine hundred years
old.
Frequently we find that the lines contain ellipsis, which helps to develop the poem how Browning
wants, so that we come to our own conclusion of exactly why and how the Duchess was murdered.
However
Browning places the Ellipses, and develops the poem so well that the conclusion is almost exactly
the same for every reader of his poetry.
The Laboratory, like my Last Duchess comes fro the 1842 collection. It has a similar subject a
person who is about to kill her rival in the presence of her lover who appears to be romantically
connected to the speaker in some way. It is in the form of a dramatic monologue, and again like
the Last Duchess is being addressed to a silent

Critical Analysis Of Consider The Lobster By David Wallace
In his essay Consider the Lobster , David Wallace focuses on a long simmering debate of lobster
killing for human pleasure. This article, published in Gourmet magazine in 2004 begins with the
author participating at the annual Maine Lobster Festival, where significant controversy
surrounding morality and ethical duties are raised. The author chose to attend this venue precisely
for these issues and to raise a discussion on a topic discarded by participants and Gourmet s
audience. The article centers around human eating experience at the lobsters expense by cooking it
alive; leading to lobsters feeling debilitating pain. Whether this is true or not, this is the crux of
Wallace s intention. Rather than focus on pain receptivity between vertebrate and invertebrate
creatures, Wallace maintains a soft stance by choosing to be influenced by personal belief. By
ignoring the complex dynamics of pain receptivity in invertebrate animals, Wallace proposes
arguments bringing the issue to attention but balks by making his message appear the topic can be
delayed or neglected in pursuit of human pleasure.
Consider the Lobster brings readers to attention by raising the topic, that is often deliberately
neglected by many of Gourmant s audience during meals associated with lobster cooking. This call
to awareness is targeted to culinary aficionados both cooks, customers and researchers, to engage in
dialogue, highlighting whether it is suitable to boil a creature alive for culinary

Perfection. Society has been taught to strive for that and normally perfection is accompanied by a
religion that exemplifies it and the reward tends to be unimaginably amazing. The problem is that
no one is perfect, and because there is no way to measure that we try our best or we give up and

Many see in the first century Judaism a unified or state religion from which Christianity sprung off.
Truth is, looking at Judaism from a monolithic perspective might be the reason why some
understand it to be a monolithic block. Though one cannot justify the claim that Christianity split
off of Judaism as a new religion, it remains certain that the former finds its origin in the weakness
of the latter, a process that happened over a few generations. However, this should not be taken to
mean that Christianitywas originally a simple outgrowth of Judaismunder Jesusbecause the former

First century Judaism meets Christianity in their conception of God whom they describe in the
quintessential verbal expression of Shema Yisrael which means that the God of the Bible is not
only unique but also is their God. concurrently, the Jews normally express the physical expression
of Judaism in the way they behave in accordance with the Law of Moses. Also, the concept of
resurrection taught by Jesus was also embraced by the Pharisees in contrast to Sadducees. Despite
these resemblances, the teachings of the first century Judaism were different from the teachings of
the Master in many ways.
One of the many ways Jesus teachings differ from the Jews was on their Messianic beliefs. It is
true that both Jews and Christians were in the wait for the forthcoming of a redeemer from the
line of David whose mission would be to proclaim a day of final deliverance and to establish his
Kingdom. It is also true that Judaism and Christianity completely parted ways when it comes to
both the personality of this deliverer and the way His Kingdom would

Cyber Attack Assignment
Early in this year, a cyber attack impacted some countries, including the UK. This attack caused
breaches in about 36 per cent of NHS organisations, which interrupted delivery of care by blocking
some technological devices (Morse, 2017). According to the National Audit Office (NAO), due to
this attack, more than 16,000 appointments were cancelled, which increased the cost to arrange
these appointments and seek support to restore data impacted in NHS devices (Morse, 2017).
Facing this kind of technological problem might seriously threaten data security and quality unless
healthcare organisations implement more monitoring and intensified support. Technical

To improve ICD 9 CM codes, Glance et al. recommend that other states in the US should follow
the successful experience of California and New York. These states coded the condition present
at admission (CPAA) to modify disease diagnosis once the patient was admitted to hospital, with
the date stamped (2006). A study Sundararajan et al. aimed to evaluate diagnosis timing
indicators in the International Classification of Diseases (ICD), developed by the World Health
Organization and used in Canada, the US and Australia (2015). This study indicated an
improvement in diagnosis due to use of coding, which promoted data accuracy and quality.
Based on these successful experiences, the WHO has encouraged these countries to develop
standard coding guideline to help use these codes effectively (Sundararajan et al., 2015). In
addition, in the UK, the NHS has had success using OPCS 4 and ICD 10 standards across UK
hospitals to evaluate the care provided based on epidemiological analysis data by coding them
(NHS Digital, 2017). ICD 10 is used to categorize diseases, while OPCS 4 is used during surgical
procedures (NHS Digital, 2017). These standards collect data from medical records, code the data
and group them into lists to get rid of duplicates so the data will be functional to use them in the
future. According to NHS Digital, these standards help hospitals use statistical epidemiological
analysis to set their plans and budgets, which might

Romanticism In Eugene Delacroix s Liberty Leading The People
Eugene Delacroix s Liberty Leading the People is an oil painting that stands at 8′ 6″ x 10′
8″, commemorating the July Revolution of France in 1830. The painting, when first displayed
at the 1831 Salon, an annual exhibition of French Art, was met with strong reactions of
disapproval due to his Romanticism influences and was later banned from public viewing. The
19th century experienced a transition from the Enlightenment Period of logic and reason, to the
Romanticism artistic movement, of which Eugene Delacroix was a leading figure. Romanticism,
as explained by Kathryn Calley Galitz, emphasized subjectivity, imagination, and emotion, much
of which is evident in Liberty Leading the People. Delacroix, instead of painting an actual scene
of warfare, chose to balance out the chaotic nature of battle by incorporating both realism and
idealism into his painting. Zelazko explains that Delacroix did not participate in the uprising
because of his dependence on royal commissions, but instead chose to take part by creating a
work of art that overwhelmingly encompasses all aspects of that historic day. Posthumously, the
painting was moved to the Louvre in Paris, France where the response was more favorable, and
today critics regard his work as a masterpiece with a unique take on this historical event. In Liberty
Leading the People, the unification of civilian fighters that form the rising French Republic march
through the ruins of the fallen empire of King Charles X. The Encyclopedia

Persuasive Essay On Pedestrians
Walk Your Wheels: The Danger of Bicycles in Pedestrian Sidewalks
I glance down at my phone for a moment and I realize that my 15 minute margin of travel time to
race across campus to my class is dwindling; I look up only to find an individual on a bicycle
hurdling toward me, clearly, incapable of stopping in time, I scramble out of the way in an attempt
to save myself from becoming roadkill. This is a common occurrence for student pedestrians on
their way to class given the increasing number of bicyclists and skateboarders that refrain from
following university transportation laws, however, instead of criminalizing the act of using these
modes of transportation on pedestrian sidewalks the university should make it safer and more
efficient for these individuals to share the roads with cars by installing bicycle lanes. This issue is
important to all campus residents, since the incorrect use of transportation could jeopardize their
safety and should be carefully considered in order to prevent accidents. This proposal argument
will aim at persuading university officials, specifically those in charge of the university
transportation services, to reconsider their handling of bicycle and other non motorized
transportation rules and safety on campus. There are many rules that bicyclists and other alternative
transportation users must follow, for example, bicycles [are] not [to] be ridden on sidewalks or any
pedestrian paths in the limited bike zone [central campus] , yet not

Was Mahatma Gandhi Justified Analysis
The Assassination of Mahatma Gandhi: Was It Justified? On January 31, 1948, Mahatma
Gandhi was assassinated by Nathuram Godse which was one of the most tragic events that
occurred in India. On the day of Gandhi s death, he was running late to prayer which was
strangely unusual to many people. Godse said a couple words to Gandhi before shooting him 3
times in the chest with a gun. Gandhi s assassination was not justified because it (his death) was
mourned worldwide by many followers and citizens, the government is still having issues to this
day from his case and his death changed the hearts of many people entirely. Some people may
think war is easier to approach or Gandhi s political and religious views might not have been
agreeable, but taking someone s life, someone who had inspired millions, is very difficult to
justify. People all around the world was heartbroken from the fact that a precious idol has been
murdered by someone so heartless. Then i heard 4 small, dull, dark explosions... I remember that
he grew pale in an instant. Not the Mahatma! Then i knew (eyewitnesstohistory.com, paragraph
7). This proves that his death had shattered so many people when they heard of his death or
knew of it. Another example from the text states, Inside my own head there occurred a wave like
disturbance which I can only compare to a storm at sea wind and wave surging tremendously back
and forth. (paragraph 8) This also proves that people on the site of the assassination were
immediately going through so many mixed emotions that they felt sick to their stomachs.
Assassinatinating a bright figure like Gandhi had so many people in shock and despair. It was
uncomparable how much they were feeling. The government to this day have issues about his
death case; they are so unsure whether they should open it once more or leave it be. In the text it
states, Today, 68 years after that event a petition in supreme court claims that the identity of Apte
remains mired in doubt and seeks reopening of the investigation into Mahatma Gandhi s
assassination. ( NDTV. com, paragraph 2) This shows that even today, the government ( or supreme
court) are indecisive in whether the case should be opened again. ...raised

Budgeting Within the Business Organization
The budgeting process and the end product, the budget, comprise two essential elements of
multinational management: planning and control. Planning is the primary function of the
budgeting process and the result, the budget, provides the basis for subsequent monitoring and
control of activities. For a multinational firm, with geographically dispersed subsidiaries to
coordinate and control, an ineffective planning and control system can be disastrous.
For the typical multinational firm, the budgeting process is the primary period of planning at both
corporate and subsidiary levels. During the planning phase, the subsidiaries establish short term
goals and objectives, devise appropriate operating strategies, and prepare a budget document for ...

This stage s effectiveness I believe is equal to the planning stage. The company has to be realistic
in examining the separate departmental budgets to look for discrepancies within the budget. If a
company does not successfully identify all problem areas then the company may have less capital
than aware of. On the other side of that coin if the company does not evaluate the different units
correctly and has overlooked capital, there could be more capital that can be utilized for new
programs and units.
#61656;Evaluation В– is the stage when the company monitors and assesses the budges
performance. The budget committee should be taking a look at variances and impacts internal and
external to see effects on the budget. This is the stage for reflection.
(FMBP, UN, 2002)
I believe that this stage can be effective but usually is not. This occurs generally when upper
management examines the prior budget for how well the company did as a whole. In my
experience this is when upper management overly criticizes departments for coming in over
budget making the unit leaders fix the issue next time to prevent getting chewed out (Mayberry,
2006). This phase can contradict the control phase by pressuring unit managers to doctor their
budgets to stay out of trouble or gain a certain bonus. Overall I deam hindsight is always 20/20,
and when looking back at what was accomplished companies generally

Acient and Medieval Western Civilization
Ancient Medieval Western Civilization At the point when Alexander the Great died in Babylon
on June 11 323 BC, few could have known the prospects for the Macedonians and the Greeks. In
the last twelve years they had fulfilled wonderful victories that brought under their influence
more than ten times the domain Alexander had started with in Greece. It was to be the start of
the Hellenistic Age, a period of one of a kind social and political advancements, that achieved an
amalgamation of old and new. After Phillip of Macedon died the next successor to the throne was
his son Alexander III of Macedon. At the point when Alexander went to the throne, he was just
twenty years of age, despite the fact that he had incredible preparing and experience for somebody
so junior. He had receive an intense training from a man named Leonidas. Then, at age thirteen, he
was guided by the Greek savant, Aristotle, who prepared Alexander s keenness as seriously as
Leonidas had prepared his body. Largely on account of his instruction, Alexander showed both an
unfathomable physical strength and educated virtuoso. Those qualities, consolidated with right on
time battles against northern tribes and at the skirmish of Chaeronea, made the youthful ruler more
than primed to accept power. For the next eleven years Alexander continued his father plan to
conquer Persia . Alexander was also successful because of his charismatic personality. He knew

Public Participation At San Diego Unified District School...
Public participation is an important aspect of any community and benefits realized from inculcating
it in the system of any public setup treats any possible problem. Some of the core merits any public
institution produces is enabling the community to participate in decision making and planning. For
this reason, they are more likely to interact with established mechanisms. Moreover, apart from
helping bring about a sense of community, public participation enables institutions to set goals and
objectives that suit that long term service delivery. San Diego Unified district school is among the
many educational centers in the United States that have embraced this useful method to warrant
continuous progress. Therefore, they recently organized a school board meetingon 27th September
2016 to provide an update on what was going on in the institution as well give the public an
opportunity to discuss their concerns and contributions. This paper analyzes the nature and role of
public participation in uniting the community and institutions that serve its members. Evidently,
although the meeting had some hitches in terms of short notices and low ethnic representation, it
was successful because the community and the institution discussed agendaand non agenda matters
and settled for proposals to increase engagement in the future.
The meeting was intended to highlight key issues as stipulated in the agenda. These were

WOMEN IN HISTORY
AMELIA SHAHAN
CRITICAL ANALYSIS ESSAY 1
COLUMBIA COLLEGE
In the late 19th and early 20th century it was found that women were not being found in historical
texts. During the 1950 s and 1960 s there was interest in women s suffering, but there would not be
a true movement until the late 1960 s with the Women s Liberation Movement Success. What
started out as a tea party of four female friends in 1848 turned into a movement.
The Women s Liberation Movement sought to change the lack of history of women and to keep
the promise of a better future for women. They first wrote the Declaration of Sentiments , using the
Declaration of Independence as a guide. In this were 18 grievances. The Women s Liberation

Even with the growth of research, women history was still seen as separate from main history. In
the 1990 s a call for a history based on gender so that a focus of both could be understood. A gender
centered history can be controversial to some feminists, the concern is that women experiences may
be lost. (Mary Menard, 1995)
Various groups have now formed to help expand women s history. The Women s History Network
was created for all those who are interested in Women History. We see Women history today in
modern curriculum. Professors who focus on Women s History has also increased. With
opportunists for women in higher education that is a trend that shall continue. Women s history is
constantly developing and change will continue with this third wave of activism.

Effects Of Social Media On Teenagers Essay
Effects of Social Media on Social Comparison and Self Esteem in Teenagers Nikolo Bobadilla,
Gaby Juarez, Lexi McCaig, Noe Molina Texas Tech University Social media applications have
had a large impact on many different generations. With the rise of technology and opportunity,
social media has become the epicenter for teenagers and college students to express and connect
with others through pictures, videos, and personal content. According to a new study from Pew
Research Center (2015), 92% of teens report going online daily including 24% who say they go
online constantly. As more teens go online, teenagers self esteem and social comparison are
impacted with the rising use of social media platforms, like Facebook, in both negative and
positive ways. In the same study, Pew Research Center (2015) found that Facebook remains the
most used social media site among American teens with 71% of all teens using the site.
However, a study done by Amy L. Gonzales and Jeffrey T. Hancock found that in many cases
Facebook can actually have a positive effect on self esteem and social comparison. In today s
society, social networking sites have almost become a mandatory item to have. Without this, certain
barriers are created from you, others, and the online world. But, people who are active on social
networking sites also open themselves up to social comparison and public scrutiny from the mass

Assessment Tools For Aged Care
Title: Assessment Tools for Aged Care in Australia
Background:
Australians over 65 are referred to as older people and make up the aged population.
The aged care sector operates under the Aged Care Act 1997 and Aged Care (Transitional
Provisions) Act 1997 that came into effect in July 2014.
As part of National Health reform in 2011, the Council of Australian Governments agreed to
transfer all funding and operational responsibility of aged care support services for people over 65
years to the Commonwealth Government. (COTA, 2014).
Public expenditure on aged care was $12.5 billion in 2011, increasing to $13.3 billion in 2012
2013. Additionally, subsidized informal care expenditure was an estimated $1.8 billion (Department
of Social Services, 2013).
Taxpayer funding makes up 93% of aged care expenditure (ARC Centre for Excellent in Population
Ageing Research, 2014).
The number of older Australians is expected to grow more than 4 times in the next 40 years to a
estimated 1.8 million people by 2050 (The Australian Government Treasury, 2010). As a result,
expenditure for aged care is projected to increase by 1% of the total GDP by 2050 (National
Seniors Australia, 2010).
Figure 1. Aged Care Expenditure as Percentage GDP (National Seniors Australia, 2010)
Major components contributing to this increasing expenditure trend are increases in income

  • 3. Charlemagne Or Charles The Great Charlemagne or Charles the Great, (747 814) was one of the most significant people during the Middle Ages, playing a key role in defining the shape and character of Medieval Europe. Considered the Father of Europe , Charlemagne reigned as King of the Franks (768 814) and became the first Holy Roman Emperor (800 814). He created a great empire as he dramatically expanded the Frankish Kingdom in a series of conquests that united most of Western Europe for the first time since the Roman Empire. He also introduced many governmental, cultural and economic reforms to further his great Carolingian Empire. Additionally the Emperor fostered the Carolingian renaissance, a time of great cultural and intellectual revival and reinforced the Christian foothold on Europe. Charlemagne s role in Medieval Europe was as a complete leader and emperor, one that effectively managed every aspect of his empire. As King of the Franks, Charlemagne played the role of a warrior king, constantly engaged in warfare and through his conquests he no longer ruled a Kingdom but a veritable empire. When the fall of the Roman Empire led to its dissolution in Western Europe, it caused a fragmented collection of Kingdoms. As Charlemagne united these fragments he needed to reconstruct the structures of a complex society and maintain unity within his realm, which was complicated by the differences between his people. Due to this, Charlemagne s role was as an effective administrator, and he instituted many ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The banking industry is constantly getting attacked by various methods on a daily basis. I chose this industry because I happen to know someone who works in the security sector at Wells Fargo Bank, he was a good person to get information on what he sees on a daily or weekly basis. In most cases the banks have a backup system in place in the event of these types of security breeches as well as natural disasters. During a security breech within the banking system everyone who does business with that bank and other banks who do business with that bank could all be effected if the breech went far enough before being discovered. The security teams within the banking system must always be constantly checking for attempts or attacks on their systems. Below is a list and description of the most common types of attacks on the banking or financial industry. Organized Crime targeting Financial Institutions Cyber crimes from criminal organizations has risen over the past few years many of these have been located overseas and most of them have been based in Eastern Europe that hire and direct hackers on what they want done. The statement has been made that the battle lines between cyber attacks by organized crime reaches far wider than just an institution s firewalls. • 5. Holistic Percpective Study 1. A holistic percpective What the text basically tells me about a holistic perspective is that anthropologist will study anything that are human or similar to human. They will continue to study Homo sapiens for as long as they have a human state and they will study anyware back to the time when humans were only just starting to adapt to tool use and social behavior. 2. Fieldwork What I read from the text about A anthropologists fieldwork is pretty interesting. The fieldwork that is done by an anthropologist is to completely immerse oneself the culter of another. Doing that is the only true way to understand that culters way of life and to truley gane insight about it. A anthropologist will completely forget about there own culter and act as if there culter they are studying is the there own. • 6. How I Become An Electrician How to Become an Electrician Last summer, I worked for an electrician company that helped open my eyes to all the possibilities that I could do in the world, and becoming an electrician was one of them. Since I have worked at the company, becoming an electrician is definitely something I want to learn more about. In this essay, I want to further my knowledge on how to become an electricianby uncovering the process that I need to know to become one. Also, the difference between choosing to become a union or non union electrician if it is what I choose to do. The first step to becoming an electrician is to do some preliminary schooling. This relates to taking relevant high school classes if you previously had an interest in becoming an electrician or at the collegiate level (How to Become . . . ). Kirkwood offers a few programs to help give you some of the basics. Their industrial maintenance and electrical engineeringprograms can both help you get ready to get into an apprenticeshipprogram The industrial maintenance technology program is very broad, and covers basics in a lot of trades and not only electrical (Industrial Technology). The electrical engineering program is designed to specifically focus on the electrical trade. Kirkwoods electrical engineering program is designed so that once you complete it, that all the credits will transfer to UNI to keep on pursuing the program (Electronics Engineering). • 7. Iqp Reflection Course History International and Global Studies INTL1100 This is one of the best classes to take to prepare for the IQP, which is why I took it. I have Professor Hansen, and he was great to have because he is very knowledgeable in the IQP processes. I learned about different cultures, governments, finances, and most importantly, how to learn a society, and make beneficial changes to it. This skill was learned through the global competency project. In this project, I participated in group work, analyzed analytical data about counties poverty, heath issues, and education, and presented our findings on a poster. This class also required me to attend the global fair as a freshman. I was a little scared going, because I was a little freshman, wandering around not knowing what to do. But it was great practice for my sophomore year, where I engaged in conversation with past participants at the IQP locations. International Studies very relevant to and off campus IQP because it taught me that countries are very different, and I need to be ready to adapt to a new lifestyle, but most importantly, have fun doing it. Intermediate Mechanics PH2201 Intermediate Mechanics has been the most challenging class I have taken at WPI. This prompted lots of teamwork. As a team, we read the textbook, learned how to do the problems, spent many nights working late, and ended up succeeding in the class. I learned more about teamwork than I thought from this class. • 8. Difference Between Formal And Informal Learning The text being analyzed is Informal vs. Formal learning: What s the Difference. Firstly, this text was chosen because it contains a meaning of informal and formal learning, which is interesting because it seems like there are only two ways of learning in life. Firstly, this text was chosen because it contains a simplistic meaning of what informal and formallearningis. Furthermore, the text states that formal learning is like a bus, the driver decides where the bus is going, and the passengers are along with the ride (Cournoyer 2012). Additionally, this is an interesting way to explain formal learning because there is one force that is in control of how everyone is supposed to learn. In this example, the person driving the bus is independent of driving while the passengers are dependent to when the driver makes it s stops. The point to make across is that if the formal force makes an error, then the people who are not the force are at risk. Secondly, informal learning is like a bike because the rider chooses the destination, and the route. Formal learning has much more structure than informal learning because informality has more flexibility. Formal learning is considered to have more control over the learning experience (Cournoyer 2012). The article from class being analyzed here is Welcome to The World Is a Text by Johnathan Silverman and Dean Rader. Firstly, the article is about how people experience reading through a formal and informal way. Interestingly, people ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The youth today may not see that infections and diseases are carried through the people they may surround themselves with. Not only can people get these illnesses through sexual encounters, but also through person to person contact. Infectious diseases are those that are transmitted from person to person by direct or indirect contact. Viruses, bacteria, parasites, and fungi all cause infectious disease. Malaria, measles, and respiratory illnesses are examples of infectious diseases. (Health Line) It is important for the youth to receive notice of these facts. Parents do not really give much of a talk when it comes to this subject, because they feel since their children have health class they ll learn everything they need to learn through there. Maybe sometime later bills will be paid on computers and checks won t require cursive. This passage will include how much percent of people use cursive compared to print, why cursive shouldn t be added back to standards, and why cursive is a dead skill. Cursive is a dead skill because, most teachers never taught or stoped teaching to their students. Motorola, an American company, focus on making cell phones and other electronics. In recent years, Motorola has experienced a bad financial situation and in 2011 Motorola split into two separate companies, Motorola Mobility and Motorola Solutions. In August 2011, Google acquired Motorola Mobility using about US$12.5 billion. In 2014, October 30, Lenovo announced that they have already finished the acquisition of Motorola Mobility from Google and they will operate the Motorola as a wholly owned subsidiary. Lenovo paid Google about US$2.9 billion to complete this transaction which included approximately US$660 million in cash and US$750 million ordinary stock issued by Lenovo. The remaining US$1.5 billion will be paid to Google by using three year promissory note. In this paper, we just consider the transaction between Lenovo and Motorola Mobility. Allocation of acquisition differential (see Exhibit 1) The purchase consideration paid for 100% of Motorola Mobility was $3.09 billion, including cash paid, consideration shares, deferred consideration and share based compensation obligation assumed by the company. • 13. Apple Vs. Fbi Case Apple vs. FBI In today s society, technology has become one of the most used and most sought after developments of the millennium. In a recent case the FBI petitioned for Apple to unlock the phone of Syed Farook, the man responsible for shooting and killing 14 people in San Bernardino, California. The FBI believed Apple should create a new software that would not erase the data from iPhones after ten failed attempts to unlock the phone. Apple replied that they had a responsibility and an obligation to protect the privacyof their customers. Supporters of Apple s response have argued, creating a new software was not a wise decision. In the past, government agencies have been known for their abuse of power. Had Apple chosen to create a master key for this particular case, there would be no limit to government invasion of privacy. In the end Apple could have potentially lost costumers by changing the protection of their cellular products. The issue has already been raised that creating software to access one locked device could potentially open the door for hackers to invade millions of other people s devices. I agree that Apple should not create a new software to unlock the phone because once a master lock is created there are no limitations to who or how the coding can be used. Although this case seems unique in matter the government has a history of invading the privacy of American companies and citizens. In 2013, the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) filed a brief ... • 15. Argumentative Essay On Propaganda By the skillful and sustained use of propaganda, one can make a people see even heaven as hell or an extremely wretched life as paradise (Adolf Hitler). Long before the term Propaganda came to be, the act of controlling the public s mindsets and opinions was still being practiced ever since mankind came to be. People with ideas want to influence their beliefs on others. Propaganda goes way back to the early times. In 1622, Pope Gregory XIII settled De Propaganda Fide which translates to the Congregation for Propagating the Faith, which was a committee of cardinals of the Roman Catholic Church. The De Propaganda Fide was intended to disperse Catholicism into Christian beliefs. Propaganda remained a religious term throughout the 18th and part of the 19th century. Propaganda began as ideologies inculcated by the Catholic Church. The people were persuaded by their faith rather than on the reason. In 1939, Propaganda was the seed that rooted World War II. Truth is, World War II was not just a battle between countries but a battle after people s minds. Propaganda has the power to change people s opinions through art. Nowadays, persuasive techniques are used in almost every fast food restaurant ads. The amount of Propaganda one is exposed to on a daily basis is bizarre. There are at least three sexes: male, female, and intersex individuals, who have genital ambiguity. Most of this chapter discussed the difficulties of intersex individuals face in the society. These individuals are often ignored or forced to live their life ashamed of their bodies. In the United States these individuals are seen as abnormality, or medical accidents, that are to be corrected through surgery. In many instances the surgeries make the individual a femaleby removing any maleanatomy within them. This is performed since many believe that genderidentity is solely developed by environmental... Write about My Last Duches a poem from Duffy, one form Armitage and another from the pre 1914 poetry bank. My Last Duchess was written by Robert Browning and published in 1842. It is based on a real person. Alfonso, Duke of Ferrara (1537 1597), married fourteen year old Lucrezia de Medici in 1158 when he was twenty one. Three years later she was killed, possibly poisoned. The Duke then arranged to marry the daughter of the count of Tyrol. As was customary at the time, the marriage arrangements were arranged between the Duke and a go between. Although we assume from the poem that the Duke murdered the Duchess the Duke never says unambiguously or openly that he killed his wife or even got anyone else to do it for him. However there are points throughout the poem that indicate the Duchess annoyed the Duke. He thinks that the Duchess should be more dignified and not so easily impressed. Specifically he faults her for finding equal pleasure in four things as if they are not at all of equal value. * The white mule that she rode * The Sun setting * A gift of fruit from an unnamed courtier The Duke emphasises in lines 31 33 that it was good for her to show gratitude, but bad that she considered anybody s gift with his gift of giving her his family name which is nine hundred years old. Frequently we find that the lines contain ellipsis, which helps to develop the poem how Browning wants, so that we come to our own conclusion of exactly why and how the Duchess was murdered. However Browning places the Ellipses, and develops the poem so well that the conclusion is almost exactly the same for every reader of his poetry. The Laboratory, like my Last Duchess comes fro the 1842 collection. It has a similar subject a person who is about to kill her rival in the presence of her lover who appears to be romantically connected to the speaker in some way. It is in the form of a dramatic monologue, and again like the Last Duchess is being addressed to a silent

This article, published in Gourmet magazine in 2004 begins with the author participating at the annual Maine Lobster Festival, where significant controversy surrounding morality and ethical duties are raised. The author chose to attend this venue precisely for these issues and to raise a discussion on a topic discarded by participants and Gourmet s audience. The article centers around human eating experience at the lobsters expense by cooking it alive; leading to lobsters feeling debilitating pain. Whether this is true or not, this is the crux of Wallace s intention. Rather than focus on pain receptivity between vertebrate and invertebrate creatures, Wallace maintains a soft stance by choosing to be influenced by personal belief. By ignoring the complex dynamics of pain receptivity in invertebrate animals, Wallace proposes arguments bringing the issue to attention but balks by making his message appear the topic can be delayed or neglected in pursuit of human pleasure. Consider the Lobster brings readers to attention by raising the topic, that is often deliberately neglected by many of Gourmant s audience during meals associated with lobster cooking. • 48. Romanticism In Eugene Delacroix s Liberty Leading The People Eugene Delacroix s Liberty Leading the People is an oil painting that stands at 8′ 6″ x 10′ 8″, commemorating the July Revolution of France in 1830. The painting, when first displayed at the 1831 Salon, an annual exhibition of French Art, was met with strong reactions of disapproval due to his Romanticism influences and was later banned from public viewing. The 19th century experienced a transition from the Enlightenment Period of logic and reason, to the Romanticism artistic movement, of which Eugene Delacroix was a leading figure. Romanticism, as explained by Kathryn Calley Galitz, emphasized subjectivity, imagination, and emotion, much of which is evident in Liberty Leading the People. Delacroix, instead of painting an actual scene of warfare, chose to balance out the chaotic nature of battle by incorporating both realism and idealism into his painting. Zelazko explains that Delacroix did not participate in the uprising because of his dependence on royal commissions, but instead chose to take part by creating a work of art that overwhelmingly encompasses all aspects of that historic day. Posthumously, the painting was moved to the Louvre in Paris, France where the response was more favorable, and today critics regard his work as a masterpiece with a unique take on this historical event. On January 31, 1948, Mahatma Gandhi was assassinated by Nathuram Godse which was one of the most tragic events that occurred in India. On the day of Gandhi s death, he was running late to prayer which was strangely unusual to many people. Godse said a couple words to Gandhi before shooting him 3 times in the chest with a gun. Gandhi s assassination was not justified because it (his death) was mourned worldwide by many followers and citizens, the government is still having issues to this day from his case and his death changed the hearts of many people entirely. Some people may think war is easier to approach or Gandhi s political and religious views might not have been agreeable, but taking someone s life, someone who had inspired millions, is very difficult to justify. People all around the world was heartbroken from the fact that a precious idol has been murdered by someone so heartless. Then i heard 4 small, dull, dark explosions... Assassinatinating a bright figure like Gandhi had so many people in shock and despair. It was uncomparable how much they were feeling. The government to this day have issues about his death case; they are so unsure whether they should open it once more or leave it be. In the text it states, Today, 68 years after that event a petition in supreme court claims that the identity of Apte remains mired in doubt and seeks reopening of the investigation into Mahatma Gandhi s assassination.
