Early Nuclear Physics Essay
1 Introduction
1.1 A Brief History of Early Nuclear Physics
In the early 1900s it was seen that a small number of alpha particles were deflected by a large angle,
the current model at the time predicted only small deflections of the particles. These results were
explained by introducing a tiny positively charged nucleus into our picture of the atom. Although beta
decay had been observed as early as 1896 and was known to contain electrons, it wasn t until 1914
that they would break the law of energy conservation if just composed of electrons. To account for the
discrepancy in energy during beta decay, Wolfgang Pauli suggested that a very light, neutral charged
particle was also released during beta decay, this particle was named the ... Show more content on

There are numerous models that have been used to describe nuclear structure and the physical
properties that arise. A mathematical model can be scrutinised in a large number of ways, does the
model agree with existing data, can the model be used to make physical predictions, what assumptions
are made etc.. Currently a large factor used in deciding whether to use a model, is the dif ficulty in
solving this mathematical model to produce physical values. A much more complicated model may
give the most accurate results, but the difficulty in obtaining any result e.g. the computational time
required, is not worth the gain in accuracy. A trade off must be made in deciding on the physical
model to be used in the situation. In this article a number of different models will be discussed, the
formulation and the uses of these models will be studied, as well as there uses in physics. Due to the
vast number of areas that nuclear physics is used, such as in cancer treatments, material processing
etc. improvements in our nuclear models are very important and not just studied for scientific
curiosity. [3]

Analysis Of Clothes From Arranged Marriage, By Chira...
In Clothes from Arranged Marriage, Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni uses the colors and styles of Sumitas
attire to represent events from her life and her emotions towards those events
Before Sumita was wed, her saris represented what, and whom, was lacking in her life. Like her
friends it was time for Sumita to wed, thus partaking in a bride viewing, which was common for an
Indian girl of her age. The females parents would try to find an appropriate Indian family of good
standing. If the family chooses the girl, they would be wed and live together. Sumita s father matched
her with the Sens , a nice, respectable Indian family, who lives in California. A special sari of a pale
pink (1) was most appropriate for her upcoming bride viewing, for the saris color represented the color
of transition. Though Sumita was upset about the possibility of leaving her life, and the unfairness of
belonging to her husband, that was forgotten once her father pulled out that sari. At that time, she
needed more than anything to be okay with change, to be okay with that uncertainty of never seeing
her childhood friends, and that sari did that for her. In the Indian culture, colors of your attire matters
just as the importance of American brides wearing white for their wedding day. And asSumita held the
heavy, silk slippery sari, with tiny stars embroidered all around, she knew Somesh and the rest of the
Sen family would choose her (2), and they did.
While married, Sumita became more comfortable

Energy Drinks Can Outweigh The Disadvantages
The critical analysis discussed whether the advantages of energy drinks can outweigh the
disadvantages. Some of the advantages that were discussed were that the sugars can be beneficial
under certain circumstances, also some energy drinks contain vitamins or minerals that can be
beneficial to human health. Some of the disadvantages discussed were cardiovascular problems, and
the masking effect which can lead to increased incidence of drunk driving.
In a systematic review conducted by McLellan Lieberman (2012) aimed to identifiy which energy
drinks ingrediant is responsible for the physical and cognitive improvements. It was found that there is
little evidence of active ingredients other than caffeine contributing to better cognitive and

Symptoms And Symptoms Of Chronic Pain
SPONDYLOSIS CHRONIC PAIN SYNDROME
Introduction and Definition of Chronic Pain
About 100 million Americans suffer from Chronic Pain, defined as pain that lasts longer than six
months. Chronic pain can be mild or excruciating, episodic or continuous, merely inconvenient or
totally incapacitating. With chronic pain, signals of pain remain active in the nervous system for
months or even years. This can take both a physical and emotional toll on a person.
Causes and Etiology of Chronic Pain
Chronic pain can be caused by many different factors. Often conditions that accompany normal aging
may affect bones and joints in ways that cause chronic pain. Other common causes are nerve damage
and injuries that fail to heal properly. The most ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Even the body s most basic defenses may be compromised: There is considerable evidence that
unrelenting pain can suppress the immune system. Because of the mind body links associated with
chronic pain, effective treatment requires addressing psychological as well as physical aspects of the
condition.
Some kinds of chronic pain have numerous causes. Back pain, for example, may be caused by a single
factor, or any combination of these factors:
Years of poor posture
Improper lifting and carrying of heavy objects
being overweight, which puts excess strain on the back and knees
A congenital condition such as curvature of the spine
Traumatic injury
Wearing high heels
Sleeping on a poor mattress
No obvious physical cause
Ordinary aging of the spine (degenerative changes)
Disease can also be the underlying cause of chronic pain. Rheumatoid Arthritis, Osteoarthritis and
Fibromyalgia are well known culprits, but persistent pain may also be due to such ailments as Cancer,
Multiple Sclerosis, Stomach Ulcers, AIDS, and gallbladder disease.
In many cases, however, the source of chronic pain can be a very complex and even mysterious issue
to untangle. Although it may begin with an injury or illness, ongoing pain can develop a psychological
dimension after the physical problem has healed. This fact alone makes

Using Old Fashioned Ways And Technology
Most of the current generation is accustomed to the technology that has been created throughout the
years. While some people may still prefer to use old fashioned ways and technology, there are many
reasons that today s society has popularized digital devices and social media. Every day there is more
technology being created around us and most likely will become just as popular as what we know
today. A lot of technology has come from personal gain but has influenced the world little by little. It
was once said Technology... is a queer thing. It brings you great gifts with one hand, and it stabs you

A lot of people struggled to keep up to date with family events or any family matters, but now you can
look and see what anyone is doing through these social media web pages. Social media was such a big
influence that companies started basing their phones and other devices around these web pages that
were created. Although social media was made on such a positive idea of communication, family and
friends, there are always negative effects that are had. There are new ways being created to prevent the
negatives that are had on these websites and others alike. People are always working towards a better
outcome. Technology has come so far in the last few decades, from the time that the only ways to find
recipes for cooking were in a cookbook or on a cooking channel, to being able to use search engines to
find online cookbooks, online recipes, and even instructional videos showing step by step cooking
instructions. Just like looking up recipes, there are also many more important searches that can be
done. People wanted a way to find what information they needed, when they needed it. This extends
from research papers to cooking or from music videos to doctoral papers. The advancement in digital
devices has made it so far that you at times don t even need to go into a doctor s office. There are
websites dedicated to healthcare information so that people can self diagnose their symptoms. Options

Leonardo Pisano Research Paper
Leonardo Pisano commonly referred to as Fibonacci revolutionized education and economics by
reviving ancient mathematics and creating his own theories (Stetson, University). Through some of his
well known books are mathematical advancements and broken barriers in the world of mathematics.
His desire to learn more and ability to travel led him to create important mathematical advancements
that changed history forever (Henderson, H).
Leonardo Pisano was born in Italy somewhere between 1170 1175 and studied in North Africa. His
father was a merchant who traveled around the world. During these trips he would often be
accompanied by Fibonacci who even at a young age was amazed by the different mathematical
institutions. During these trips he observed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

and spirals in Nature as in depth as we know today. We also would not be able to solve consecutive
sequences with the quickness that we do so today. By developing the Fibonacci sequence and
introducing Hindu Arabic number systems and algebra theory to Europe, Leonardo Fibonacci had a far
reaching effect on the evolution of the study and application of mathematics in Western civilization (O
Neill, Christopher). If Fibonacci had not incorporated these elements in his book or theorems we

Intelligent Traffic Surveillance System Essay
Abstract Due to the traffic accidents over the last few years; the development of surveillance systems
with multifunctional techniques has received increasing attention. The use of the smart camera is one
solution to solve the traffic problems, Smart cameras are cameras that can perform tasks far beyond
simply taking photos and recording videos. Intelligent Traffic Surveillance System (ITSS) is used to
monitor the roads in preventing accidents at the same time finding what causes the accidents. This is
done by implementing some image vision protocols as that of Gaussian and Canny. This paper will
discuss about the camera video surveillance capabilities of tracking across different and varied road
environments including detection of moving ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Thus, vehicles detection in cluttered environment is an open problem. The major difficulties lie in:
Vehicles are a non rigid object. In other words, the shape and size of vehicles vary greatly, and
therefore the models of vehicles are much more complex than that of others objects.
In the case of the clutter background. It does not matter if we are analyzing images from a typical city
or from a country traffic environment or highways; the background formed by trees, wire poles, and
billboards is much cluttered. Most of these backgrounds can be taken for vehicles, due to their similar
shapes.
Illumination and weather conditions vary greatly. The on vehicle vision systems must be able to deal
with the different illumination conditions [2].
One of the goals is to develop a system that can be used to Monitor the highways and prevent
accidents by implementing an algorithm program in OpenCV (Intelยฎ open source computer vision
library), Real time tracking objects will be achieved by using a smart camera which captures the
frames and sends the image signals to the main server
The system will be a replacement of human for triggering alarms which if something dangerous has
happened or potential horrific scenario (potential accidents) is about to happen. In general this project
consists of a smart camera system interconnected with wireless technology for traffic surveillance

Character Analysis Cyrano De Bergerac
The concept of a tragic hero exists when a character prevails the traits of bravery, honor, and loyalty,
much like the main character of Cyrano in Edmond Rostand s 17th century play, Cyrano de Bergerac.
In the year of 1640, Cyrano realizes his love for Roxane, his intelligent and exquisite cousin. With the
help of a young and handsome nobleman named Christian, Cyrano expresses his love for Roxanne
through eloquent love letters that Christian delivers to Roxane, pretending that Christian himself wrote
the letters. In due time, Cyrano proves to be a tragic hero through verifying himself to be a brave,
honorable, and loyal man.
Through his acts of bravery, Cyrano is able to accomplish many of his goals and conquer his many
plans. After ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
15 years after Christian dies, Roxane realizes that all along, it was Cyrano writing the intuitive love
letters. After Roxane s chaotic comprehension, Cyrano promises, No, no, my own dear love, I love
you not! (Rostand 190). Even though Christian has been dead for many years, Cyrano still stays loyal
to Christian by refusing to admit his true feelings towards Roxane and continues to persuade Roxane
that it was Christian who wrote Roxane all of the letters. Cyrano s terminal allegiance to the late
Christian displays Cyrano s loyalty concerning the people in his life. Another instance where Cyrano
proves his loyalty is moments before Christian s death. Christian wants Roxane to truthfully know that
all along, it was Cyrano writing the letters to Roxane. However, Cyrano acknowledges that Christian
is on his deathbed and wants nothing more than for Christian to feel at ease. Without confessing about
the letter to Roxane, Cyrano confides to Christian, I have told her; she loves you (Rostand 169).
Moments before Christian s death, Cyrano shows loyalty towards Christian by claiming to him that
Roxane still loves Christian. Although Cyrano could have admitted the truth to Roxane, Cyrano chose
to let his love for Roxane die along with Christian showing ideal loyalty to Christian. In essence,
Cyrano is a loyal man due to his loyalty towards his deal with

Realism is the preeminent theory of International Relations, as it provides the best explanation for
what is going on today in the modern world in case of conflicts and political disputes. Realism can be
broken down in three elements: Survival, Statism and Self Help. Survival is fundamentally the basic
instinct of any state. Not to forget that in International Relations, states are known as Actors (O Neil,
2009). Survival mostly kicks in when a state is under anarchical rule, or simply a state with no higher
authority (Mearsheimer, 2008). Statism on the other hand concentrates on economic controls of a
highly centralized government often extending to government ownership of industries. And finally
Self Help. Self Help is basically being able and adapted to succour one s state in times of hardship and
distress. Even though there are many different elements and

Essay On Cousin Rivalry
EGO There was a very real cousin rivalry in the house I grew up in, from who could do more push ups
with our grandfather, to who could learn how to ride a bike first/better, to video games, and of course
basketball. Our basketball competitiveness was so intense that my cousins I would take socks, make a
faux basketball proceed to shoot them into a garbage bin at the end of a hallway. Seeing and hearing
this, our grandfather transformed our backyard into half a basketball court, which in turn took our
rivalry from friendly competition to must win by any means necessary. We literally left our blood,
sweat tears on our basketball court, and it was worth it. However, notice my use of the word our,

There s absolutely nothing wrong with having the utmost confidence in yourself, and if it offends
people? That s their problem! Why is it that people with confidence have to wait for other people to
champion them before they re allowed to celebrate themselves being extraordinary? One of my
missions in life is to empower as many people as possible, instead of telling them to be humble. The
only thing humble people get is a humble life, which is cool if that s how they choose to live, but that
isn t enough for my ego...at all. Nothing about me is humble, including especially my goals. I want to
create a legacy that allows my work to be read, seen, and more importantly felt, for generations to
come. I want to be rich; I m talking the type of rich that allows everybody in my family to do
whatever they please with their time forever. I simply refuse to not live in my truth in order to placate
the delicate sensibilities of people who aren t self assured. As the great Kendrick Lamar once said, I
can t fake humble just cuz your ass is insecure. I m my favorite person on earth, and people seem to
have a problem with how much I love myself. Imagine feeling so insecure that someone loving
himself makes you think they need to bring it down a notch? The irony of people telling me to check
my ego or be humble is that it s the most egotistical thing someone could ever do. Imagine thinking, I
don t think you should love yourself as much as you

Ringworm Disease
Pets can make fantastic companions and fun playmates. Most pet owners are aware of the more
disgusting parts of owning a furry loved one, such as cleaning out the litter box, scrubbing up the
occasional accident and enduring slobbery kisses. Unfortunately, these may not be the grossest things
that your pet can make you deal with. Pets can spread dangerous diseases that can sometimes be
deadly if left untreated. Be aware of these diseases the next time you are playing with your pet to keep
you and your family safe.
1. Ringworm
A highly contagious fungal infection, ringworm is commonly found in cats and dogs. Animals with the
infection normally have patches of missing hair on their fur with red spots on their bare skin. In
humans, a circular patch forms on the skin. It can be prevented by washing sheets twice a month in hot

Tapeworms
Children are most susceptible to getting tapeworm from their four legged friends because they are the
least likely to wash their hands. Tapeworms are spread through flea, so keeping your pet flea free is
the best prevention. In humans, tapeworms can cause weight loss, as the parasites attach themselves to
the intestines and digest the food that is eaten, diarrhea, stomach pain and vomiting.
9. Rabies
A rare, but extremely fatal, disease, rabies can be prevented by avoiding wild animals and getting your
pet vaccinated. Symptoms in pets include foaming of the mouth, staggering and behavioral changes.
Humans who have been bitten by a rabid animal may experience itching by the bite, anxiety,
confusion and hallucinations. If your pet has symptoms, call animal control and stay away from them,
because the disease is transmitted through saliva.
10. Hookworms
These parasites attach to your dogs intestines and can kill them if they drink enough of their blood.
The parasites are contracted through eggs in the dogs feces, so cleaning them up promptly will prevent
them from hatching and attaching themselves to your dog or to

Boyz N The Hood Leadership
Boyz N the Hood, displays the challenging upbringing of adolescents who have to live with harsh
conditions around not only their home but also their surrounding town. The film compares the
differences between the lifestyles of Tre Styles and his friends , Darren and Ricky Baker. Darren and
Ricky are half brothers who are nothing alike. Singleton demonstrates the importance of male
leadership in a home in the ghetto of Los Angeles by comparing the difference between the lifestyles
of Tre and his friends. While many adolescents in the hood have close friendships, some form close
relationships by assembling gangs and create a world of violence due to alcohol abuse, which together
ultimately breeds discrimination.
The impoverished conditions in which the residents of this community live are difficult based on the
surrounding violence and discrimination they face. Tre, Ricky s best friend, is able to survive the
surrounding violence and discrimination through his father s sensational leadership; he therefore
knows what to do in situations he faces among his friends. However, his friends are not so lucky. For
example, Dough doesn t have great leadership or a father figure, but is raised by a single mother who
is determined to get her children to succeed; nevertheless, her main focus is Ricky because he has the

Mission Command Structure
Outside of the command structure, some organizations we can expect to deal with are Doctors without
Borders, the UN, Red Cross, UNICEF, World Food Programme. To extend influence beyond the chain
of command to some of these organizations, we should conduct periodic meetings with representatives
from these organizations to synchronize and coordinate efforts. Sending an LNO to the organizations
to keep a two flow of communication and information will help us gain situational understanding, as
well as these organizational aims. In turn, we can shape some of our own operations and efforts. We
can also expect to interact with local police and governance. More frequent meetings would be needed
with these groups, as it ties into our core mission of wide are security and delivering humanitarian aid.

These areas are important, as they feed into the commander s ability to make decisions and solve the
problem at hand. Once briefed on the OE, and having met with local and organizational leaders, the
commander probably has a set idea of how they want the operation to unfold, and in the spirit of
mission command, will have a clear intent on how to proceed. This leads to the second part:
constraints/limitations/specified actions, as these specified limitations will shape the COA developed
by the staff. Finally, the commander needs to retain their situational awareness, and by generating

Erosion Of Beach
As we engineer the shoreline, this is a phase that may compare to the changing or altering the nature
of the shoreline in order to keep it stabilized. The stabilization methods of shoreline range from
planting dune grass, to large seawalls using bulldozers or cranes. These methods are short term.
Erosion of beaches caused by human may be greater than nature causing. Replenishing of beaches
may consist of pumping sand back out onto the beach, or building back up sand dunes. This would
result in not enough money to replenish the beach. Only the upper part of the beach would be covered
with new sand. This would create a steep beach. Creating the steep beach would increase the rate of
erosion. With sand being pumped from the lagoon, or shelf, this

Social Classes During The Industrial Revolution
Social classes During the time frame of the Industrial Revolution there were 3 main social classes: The

cheaper price in their factories. With the working class looking for work, were employed by the
factory owners. The advantaged social class that had enjoyed wealth and success, had now achieved a

They constructed mansions and libraries and museums and collected fine art with their newfound

to their small factories or businesses success, the middle class benefited and they made their way to
the upper class. As this happened the middle class took advantage of newly affordable items such as
furniture and clothing allowing themselves a more comfortable life. Negative effects The Working
class that made up around 80% of society had little or no bargaining power with their employers
resulting in the continuation of unfair working hours, bad wages, and unsanitary and hazardous

Nathaniel Hawthorne Essay
Nathaniel Hawthorne was one of American literature s finest writers; his writing style was very
distinct and unusual in some aspects. It is his background that provided this ambiguous and complex
approach to writing. Hawthorne s New England heritage has, at times, been said to be the contributing
factor in his works. The Puritan view of life itself was considered to be allegorical, their theology
rested primarily on the idea of predestination and the separation of the saved and the damned As
evident from Hawthorne s writings his intense interest in Puritanical beliefs often carried over to his
novels such as, Young Goodman Brown, The Scarlet Letter, and The Minister s Black Veil just to

Both men Dante and Young Goodman Brown embark on a somewhat spiritual journey and come out
of it with an insight that they never possessed before relating to the world and their beliefs. Young
Goodman Brown had the allegorical elements similar to Dante s Inferno with the use of color,
ambiguous statements and the representation of objects. An example of this type of ambiguity of
language is when the old man convinces Goodman Brown to come with him: Let us walk on,
nevertheless, reasoning as we go, and if I convince thee not, thou shalt turn back. We are but a little
way in the forest yet (Hawthorne 615) This statement can be taken one of two ways, either for the
literal sense in which the old man is urging him to come or for the allegorical way in which this shows
Goodman Brown has a choice in his destiny to make the right decision and turn his back on Satan
when he sees God s way is better. Upon returning home Goodman Brown comes to the realization that
all the people that meant most in his life that he believed were righteous, upstanding, God fearing
citizens were all guilty of being influenced by the devil. Whether he dreamed this or not what
happened to him in the forest changed his life in such a dramatic way that it compels him to live the
rest of it out in gloom and despair as evident from this paragraph: Often, awakening suddenly at
midnight, he shrank from the bosom of Faith, and at morning or eventide, when the family knelt down

Models of Customer Satisfaction
Models of Customer Satisfaction Adriadne Aaron Hill Peru State College Executive Summary This
paper presents different models of customer satisfaction. Models are needed in customer satisfaction
so that when measurements are taken there is a way to analyze the results. Companies who want to
compete in their field must understand the purpose of customer satisfaction. The beginning stage of
customer satisfaction is distinguishing between the customer and the consumer. A customer is an
individual or business that purchases a product or service. A consumer is an individual that actually
uses the product or service. Even though research is generally termed customer service satisfaction as
the customer is the purchaser, it is important to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
High performance businesses understand the importance of meeting these demands in order to retain
customers and to build new customer relationships. Businesses that are mindful of customer
satisfaction try to eliminate product and service failures, exchanges in which the customer experiences
losses (Smith, Bolton, Wagner, 1999). Businesses choose to measure customer satisfaction so that they
can determine their customer loyalty, the business revenue, and costs. Gaining a profit is the ultimate
goal of businesses, however, great businesses focus on the customer, and their needs and making sure
that quality demands are met. There are different models used to measure customer satisfaction that
are dependent upon the particular information desired. Models can focus on value, quality,
performance, and expectations. Models are needed to analyze the validity of measurements for

Comparing Fujimori And Pinochet
n both scenarios the countries had problems with terrorism before they became the president. In
Fujimori s case the communism was starting to take over in the form of terror group in Peru. In
Pinochet s case a president with these communist views was elected. In both cases the staged a coup in
which the military took over. The difference being they had the opposite roles in there scenarios.
Fujimori staged a coup to overthrow himself and let the military be in charge. Pinochet was the person
that took over Chile after the coup, which was not a self coup. In addition to having these coups, they
each orchestrated the mass killing or disappearance of people they suspected might be involved with
communism. Most of these people had little

International Trade And Economic Growth
Nowadays, the international trade is very important for a growth economy, specially with advanced
technologies that facilitate communication. To obtain financial and technological resources for
economic growth, the nation needs certainly to participate in world trade. International trade of
developing countries leads to high growth and significant changes in the commodity structure by
reflecting changes in the economy. The countries in all over the world are economically
interdependent. No any nation can exist in economic isolation. If the economy of one nation crashed,
other nations in the world will probably be unstable as well. And that would be worse if that nation
among to developed nations. The gains from trade are dynamic because they cause changes in
economy s evolution through time. From a macroeconomic perspective, we can analyze the gains
from trade by focusing on the relation between trade openness and economic growth. From a
microeconomic perspective we can analyze the gains from trade by focusing on connections between
firm productivity and access to international markets. Recently, the literature on the dynamic gains
from trade takes a different approach rather than broad based measures of GDP and economic
openness. On the theory side, the heterogeneous firms models of Melitz (2003) and Chaney (2008)
present a rigorous basis for the existence of a link between trade liberalization and within sector
productivity gains: as less productive firms exit the market

Intellectual Property And Creative Commons
Introduction to The Trio: Jasper, Summer and Dak (The Trio) have developed a reality television show
named Stuck . It centres on love, university and the dramas it all encompasses, with two main people
being Rose and Austin. The show will air every Monday night at 8:00pm till 9:00pm. This creative
idea exists with the hope that it will grow largely popular with their target audience, which are
adolescents generally between the ages of 14 and 23. It is my highly important job as manager to
consider different avenues within the creative industries to find the best solution in protection The Trio
s creative property. I will analyse aspects intellectual property and creative commons and report back
to The Trio with what option is best for them in protecting their television show. Intellectual property:
Intellectual property law is that area of law which concerns legal rights associated with creative effort
or commercial reputation and goodwill (Bainbridge, 2006, p. 03). The law exists to discourage others
taking unfair advantage or copying the creative work of another person or group (Bainbridge, 2006). A
country s system of intellectual property rights has set standards to establish a creator s rights, in order
to prevent others from exploiting the economic value of their artistic endeavors, and have actions in
place if the exploitation were to occur (Maskus, 2000). Some rights are there to benefit large
corporations, while others are there to simply prevent unfair use

Cecally-Cannulated Horses Case Study
Four cecally cannulated horses were utilized in a 4 x 4 Latin square to evaluate dosage levels of 95%
liposomal curcumin (LIPC) on the same opportunistic bacteria in experiment 1 and to evaluate cecal
characteristics. Horses were randomly assigned to one of four treatments: 1) no LIPC, (CON); 2) 15 g
of 500 mg/g of LIPC, recommended level (REC); 3) 25 g of 500 mg/g of LIPC (1.66 x R); or 4) 35 g

The recommended dose, REC treatment, significantly decreased (P 0.0001) SBEC concentrations
compared to increasing doses. E. coli K 12 concentrations were decreased (P = 0.01) with REC and
1.33xR treatments compared to 1.66xR and 2xR treatments (Table 3). Concentrations of E. coli
general were significantly less (P = 0.032) in REC, 1.33xR and 2xR compared to the 1.66xR
treatment. Numerically, 2xR had the lowest concentration of C. difficile, and 1.66xR had the lowest
concentration of C. perfringens out of the four treatments. Previous work with human subjects showed
E. coli and substrain K 12 possess curcumin converting activity, which is responsible for curcumin
transformation and slowing down the degradation and metabolic process of curcumin (Hassaninasab
et al., 2011). Thus, increasing the dosage of 95% liposomal curcumin may have increased the growth
activity of E. coli general and K 12 due to curcumin being broken down in the cecum. This can have a
direct effect on these strains (Hassaninasab et al., 2011). In addition, this may be the reason for
concentration responses. Based on the results from the two batch cultures, the authors decided to
investigate 15 g, 25 g, and 35 g of 500 mg/g of 95% liposomal curcumin for the in vivo

Legal Issues Over The Legal System
The career that I chose to focus on was legal area as far as becoming an attorney that practices family
and criminal court. I chose this area of study because I have become interested in legal issues over the
past few years that lead me to the decision to practice law. Upon deciding what I wanted to do with
my career, I then decided that I want to first start out as a lawyer and then progress to becoming a
judge where I plan on retiring from. I decided I would rather practice criminal law and family law as a
prosecutor rather than becoming a defense attorney. I don t feel that my arguments are strong enough
to be a defense attorney and do plan on working on those skills for improvement. However I am a firm
believe that justice served is the main reason individuals lean to the legal system for help. During my
research for my chosen career I found an article that allowed me to look deeper into the legal system.
The article focuses on the importance of the local common law in resolving various related disputes
(Decker, 2014). Topics discussed include relationship between the local common law with the
customs, social norms and local legal culture, role of the local courts of the U.S. in the construction,
implementation and enforcement of the common law and relationship between the common law and
access to justice (Decker, 2014). It further discusses the importance of the legal scholarship in
construction of the common law (Decker, 2014). After reading this article it basically

What Is Frank And April s Influence On The American Dream
In Post World War Two, America shot out of the Great Depression thanks to some government
programs that helped support home mortgage loans and GI Bill for a veteran s education. During this
time, the idea of the American Dream had become an established mindset for all, to work hard with
the result of holding prosperity and success. Frank and April are a couple living in suburbia Maine,
who seem to be another couple aiming for the American Dream, but in reality both wanting to be far
away from where they are. Both of them are free spirited people who despise having their own selves
live to society s norms of fulfillment. From Yates narrative of Frank and April and These United States
depicting suburbanization, both contradict each publication s stance on the subject and paint the
picture of the failure that is their marriage and relationship.

Mapping Penny s World
The book that I have chosen for this project is called Mapping Penny s World by Loreen Leedy. This
book teaches students the concepts of making and understanding maps. This book starts out with a girl
named Lisa talking about how her class is learning how to use maps. The story then proceeds to Lisa
making many different kinds of maps. Throughout the book, she creates maps of places like her
bedroom, her dog s treasure map, and her dog s favorite places. The book talks about important things
that need to be added to a map, which I find extremely helpful. This is one reason I think this book is
such a great resource to use for social studies. Another reason I think it is a good resource is because
the maps are very detailed, which helps students

being in the USA has already challenged and confused my person. I was not ready to affront a world
where people judge me by my skin color. By the time I got into this class, reality already burst my

Another author that have affected my view on the masculinity subject is Ta Nehesi Coates with the
sentence Not being violent enough could cost me my body. Being too violent could cost me my body.
We could not get out. This explains how black men are stuck with no control over their body. As a
black man, the way to succeed the street is violence named the struggle if you decide not to, the street

That brings us to thinking about the new Jim Crow that is somehow explaining how many black

Understanding the Black Power Movement
Introduction Understanding the Black Power Movement as it relates to the creation of Black or
African American study programs and departments is to recognize the efforts of radical student
activists on college campuses. The prevailing thought of the Black existence casted doubt on the
importance of Black/African studies at colleges and universities. Blacks, unfortunately, were thought
to not have a history, or at least one not worth examining, in the American existence and even within
world civilization. However, such as notion is baseless. In the tens of thousands of years of
civilization, Africans have witnessed and contributed to the productivity of the human existence. The
great salt and gold kingdoms of the Ghanaian and Malian Empires thrived long before the Hapsburg
and Bourbon dynasties rules Spain and France, respectively. Yet, the contributions of those great
African civilizations were often ignored in the historiography of early civilizations. Even the
contributions of the Ancient Egyptians have become part of the ensemble of the Greek and Roman
tragedy, removing Egypt from the history of Africa. The contributions of Black Americans in the
history of the United States were virtually absent prior to the creation of Black Study programs and
departments. The assumption of Black history was that it included the 300 plus years of enslavement,
the Civil War (where student are indoctrinated to believe that President Lincoln intended on freeing
Blacks) and then the more

The Motivation and Consequences of Fear Essay
In today s society fear is the cause of most violence. Fear is motivated in a lot of ways from TV to
face on face interaction. Society should learn to overcome fear and be moti vated by desire to be seen
as free and equal. In this essay I m going to give examples of cases where fear played a big role that
caused problems. To enlighten the negatives and positives that fear has to show.
When there is violence there is always an explanation to what happen. The explanation mostly is fear
started from the time of 1692. In The Crucible the town goes crazy hang ing people and arresting
people for no reason really. The fact that a child can say they have seen the devil and it causes the

So fear manipulated her to only care about herself and no one else because of herself desire.
Here is a good example in which one man used fear in a positive way against discrimina tion. Martin
Luther king is a good example of a man who did not let fear manipulates his beliefs. Even though
Martin Luther king got stabbed and nearly died he did not let fear overcome his judgment. One sneeze
would have ended his life and when he recovered he went out and still fought not for fear but for
desire to be treated equal as others. I m so happy that you didn t sneeze , is a quote from a letter a
young white girl wrote because she did not have fear to look up to him as a leader. This article proves
to show fear is only what you don t know and desire to be equal and fee takes you far.
West borough represents fear in such a good way. It shows how far fear can take you just because you
don t know the meaning of something. They teach their children god hates fags but there children ant
even identify what a fag is. That is an example of how you let fear over cloud your judgment. To the
point where you can t identify exactly what you hate what god hate only because you re afraid. It s
ironic that people have the power to say and change the minds of others to the point where it s wrong
to be urself. I mean it s pretty bad

What Is My Favorite Season Of Autumn
Bare Branches
When autumn begins the atmosphere is different, the air is crisp and the ground is crunchy with
leaves. There s a heavy light that falls over the earth, red and orange light hit the hilltops just perfectly
at sunset. The beauty in autumn is one I will never get over, the memories it brings when I feel the
cold air hit my skin is all worth the leaves falling and showing their bare branches. Autumn is my
favorite season because of the weather, the beauty it has, and the comfort it brings to me.
Finally getting relief from the hot summer sun is one of my favorite reasons why I adore autumn. I m
always anxious waiting for the day I can shut off my air conditioner and open a window to reveal the
sweat breeze. The neutral temperature is perfect for outdoor activities. Like grilling for a BBQ, taking
a long walk or hike, or playing some games outside. Breathing in the natural air always feels amazing,
it makes it easier. Sweating is not ideal, so when its autumn and the hot weather is finally gone I feel a
sense of relief that I m not drenched from head to toe.
My favorite thing to do during fall is watch the leaves change colors, and then fall to reveal the
beautiful bare branches. The vibrant colors that bounce off the leaves make my mood shift. I ... Show

of micro invertebrates, what is the water quality of the U high creek? On 9/22/14, the day of the

wind, and 62% humidity. One of the observations of the creek is that there was some garbage and
trash on the banks, although there was minimal amount. Another observation was that there was run
off leading into the creek from roads, nearby parking lots, and neighboring yards. There were about 40
small fish, only about 2 3 inches long swimming north against the current. The water was also very

the 48 water quality index. The water quality level is considered excellent if it is 23 or above. The
water quality in the U High creek is more than twice that. There were many different types of
organisms found in the creek including 7 pollution intolerant micro invertebrates. The total number of
organisms including the 88 pollution intolerant Caddis fly larvae point to a low pollution level in the
creek. The 10 moderately tolerant micro invertebrates also point to low polluted creek. There were

Examples Of Vestibulee In Dante s Inferno
Dante, first, talks about the people of Vestibule. These people are considered trimmers and neutrals.
People who are in Vestibule are neither a part of Heaven nor Hell. The consequences of their actions
in this world is reflected in the afterlife as a punishment. Their punishment is chasing a banner and
being bitten by insects. Chasing a banner is a punishment which reflects that these people followed
every opportunity in the world; therefore, they will keep doing the same thing in the hereafter. The
connection between the insects and the people of Vestibule is insects benefit from human beings as the
people of Vestibule continually benefit from other people throughout their lifetime. Their punishment
is not an external punishment because what they plant now is what they will harvest later. Virgil says,
We have come to the place where / I said that you would see the woeful people / who have lost the
good of the intellect (Dante, 1417). This quote explains how these people created their own Hells by
using their intellect for the wrong purposes. They got what they deserved as the actions ... Show more

The punishment for the angry is thrashing around and taring each other as for the sullen it is being
unheard and unseen. Trashing around and taring each other fits their sin because angry people always
fight with others, therefore, their punishment is trashing. Being submerged fit the sullen because the
sullen people were given a promising life, however they spent their lives moping and pitying
themselves. Dante explains these people as, In the world he was an arrogant person; / no kindness
adorned his memory, / so his shade is furious here (Dante, 46 48). He adds, As one who learns of a
great trick, / played on him and who resents it, / so Phlegyas became in his pent up rage. (Dante,
1433). This example shows that even the guardian of this circle, Phlegyas, is very angry which
represents the sinners of this Hell s

many athletics and clubs throughout high school and plan to be very involved in clubs here at
Simpson. I m anxious to begin these clubs over the next four years. The first club meeting I attended

I think that being in clubs, such as CAB, is great for students because it helps undergraduates gain
better social skills, keeps students busy, and teaches them to manage their time. Statistics show that
students who are busy in athletics or clubs often achieve a higher GPA than students who do not
participate in extracurricular activities, so that is another major reason why I chose to be active in
clubs on campus. By becoming active in clubs, students are able to interact with the Simpson
community and possibly go out of their comfort zone by experiencing new things. Clubs are a great
way to meet new people and make connections that may stick with you forever. Keeping myself busy
is important to me and by signing up for CAB and other clubs, I know I will stay busy but not be
overloaded. Simpson College offers around forty clubs to keep their students busy on campus and
possibly explore what we like and dislike. I think that the college does a great job of creating a variety
of clubs for undergraduates of all interests. Also, if a student doesn t see the club they want, the
campus allows them to begin a club with approval. I believe that some of the clubs can help students
get an internship and get opportunities to interact with professionals in their desired career. By being
active in CAB, students can discover if they enjoy organizing events or speaking in front of large

  • 2. Early Nuclear Physics Essay 1 Introduction 1.1 A Brief History of Early Nuclear Physics In the early 1900s it was seen that a small number of alpha particles were deflected by a large angle, the current model at the time predicted only small deflections of the particles. These results were explained by introducing a tiny positively charged nucleus into our picture of the atom. Although beta decay had been observed as early as 1896 and was known to contain electrons, it wasn t until 1914 that they would break the law of energy conservation if just composed of electrons. To account for the discrepancy in energy during beta decay, Wolfgang Pauli suggested that a very light, neutral charged particle was also released during beta decay, this particle was named the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There are numerous models that have been used to describe nuclear structure and the physical properties that arise. A mathematical model can be scrutinised in a large number of ways, does the model agree with existing data, can the model be used to make physical predictions, what assumptions are made etc.. Currently a large factor used in deciding whether to use a model, is the dif ficulty in solving this mathematical model to produce physical values. A much more complicated model may give the most accurate results, but the difficulty in obtaining any result e.g. the computational time required, is not worth the gain in accuracy. A trade off must be made in deciding on the physical model to be used in the situation. In this article a number of different models will be discussed, the formulation and the uses of these models will be studied, as well as there uses in physics. Due to the vast number of areas that nuclear physics is used, such as in cancer treatments, material processing etc. improvements in our nuclear models are very important and not just studied for scientific curiosity. [3] 1 2 Modelling Nuclear Structure 2.1 Macroscopic Modelling of nuclear structure (The Liquid Drop Model) It is important to have models of nuclear structures and interactions, to both describe the observations made ... • 3. Analysis Of Clothes From Arranged Marriage, By Chira... In Clothes from Arranged Marriage, Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni uses the colors and styles of Sumitas attire to represent events from her life and her emotions towards those events Before Sumita was wed, her saris represented what, and whom, was lacking in her life. Like her friends it was time for Sumita to wed, thus partaking in a bride viewing, which was common for an Indian girl of her age. The females parents would try to find an appropriate Indian family of good standing. If the family chooses the girl, they would be wed and live together. Sumita s father matched her with the Sens , a nice, respectable Indian family, who lives in California. A special sari of a pale pink (1) was most appropriate for her upcoming bride viewing, for the saris color represented the color of transition. Though Sumita was upset about the possibility of leaving her life, and the unfairness of belonging to her husband, that was forgotten once her father pulled out that sari. At that time, she needed more than anything to be okay with change, to be okay with that uncertainty of never seeing her childhood friends, and that sari did that for her. In the Indian culture, colors of your attire matters just as the importance of American brides wearing white for their wedding day. And asSumita held the heavy, silk slippery sari, with tiny stars embroidered all around, she knew Somesh and the rest of the Sen family would choose her (2), and they did. While married, Sumita became more comfortable ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Every day there is more technology being created around us and most likely will become just as popular as what we know today. A lot of technology has come from personal gain but has influenced the world little by little. It was once said Technology... is a queer thing. In other words, the shape and size of vehicles vary greatly, and therefore the models of vehicles are much more complex than that of others objects. In the case of the clutter background. It does not matter if we are analyzing images from a typical city or from a country traffic environment or highways; the background formed by trees, wire poles, and billboards is much cluttered. Most of these backgrounds can be taken for vehicles, due to their similar shapes. Illumination and weather conditions vary greatly. The on vehicle vision systems must be able to deal with the different illumination conditions [2]. One of the goals is to develop a system that can be used to Monitor the highways and prevent accidents by implementing an algorithm program in OpenCV (Intelยฎ open source computer vision library), Real time tracking objects will be achieved by using a smart camera which captures the frames and sends the image signals to the main server The system will be a replacement of human for triggering alarms which if something dangerous has happened or potential horrific scenario (potential accidents) is about to happen. Character Analysis Cyrano De Bergerac The concept of a tragic hero exists when a character prevails the traits of bravery, honor, and loyalty, much like the main character of Cyrano in Edmond Rostand s 17th century play, Cyrano de Bergerac. In the year of 1640, Cyrano realizes his love for Roxane, his intelligent and exquisite cousin. With the help of a young and handsome nobleman named Christian, Cyrano expresses his love for Roxanne through eloquent love letters that Christian delivers to Roxane, pretending that Christian himself wrote the letters. Cyrano s terminal allegiance to the late Christian displays Cyrano s loyalty concerning the people in his life. Another instance where Cyrano proves his loyalty is moments before Christian s death. Christian wants Roxane to truthfully know that all along, it was Cyrano writing the letters to Roxane. However, Cyrano acknowledges that Christian is on his deathbed and wants nothing more than for Christian to feel at ease. Without confessing about the letter to Roxane, Cyrano confides to Christian, I have told her; she loves you (Rostand 169). Not to forget that in International Relations, states are known as Actors (O Neil, 2009). Survival mostly kicks in when a state is under anarchical rule, or simply a state with no higher authority (Mearsheimer, 2008). Our basketball competitiveness was so intense that my cousins I would take socks, make a faux basketball proceed to shoot them into a garbage bin at the end of a hallway. Seeing and hearing this, our grandfather transformed our backyard into half a basketball court, which in turn took our rivalry from friendly competition to must win by any means necessary. As this happened the middle class took advantage of newly affordable items such as furniture and clothing allowing themselves a more comfortable life. Both men Dante and Young Goodman Brown embark on a somewhat spiritual journey and come out of it with an insight that they never possessed before relating to the world and their beliefs. Young Goodman Brown had the allegorical elements similar to Dante s Inferno with the use of color, ambiguous statements and the representation of objects. An example of this type of ambiguity of language is when the old man convinces Goodman Brown to come with him: Let us walk on, nevertheless, reasoning as we go, and if I convince thee not, thou shalt turn back. We are but a little way in the forest yet (Hawthorne 615) This statement can be taken one of two ways, either for the literal sense in which the old man is urging him to come or for the allegorical way in which this shows Goodman Brown has a choice in his destiny to make the right decision and turn his back on Satan when he sees God s way is better. Upon returning home Goodman Brown comes to the realization that all the people that meant most in his life that he believed were righteous, upstanding, God fearing citizens were all guilty of being influenced by the devil. Whether he dreamed this or not what happened to him in the forest changed his life in such a dramatic way that it compels him to live the rest of it out in gloom and despair as evident from this paragraph: Often, awakening suddenly at midnight, he shrank from the bosom of Faith, and at morning or eventide, when the family knelt down at prayer, he ... But what can I learn in a Black Man in Contemporary Society class that I don t already know? Can it change my opinion of the black man? Coming from a majority black country, being in the USA has already challenged and confused my person. I was not ready to affront a world where people judge me by my skin color. By the time I got into this class, reality already burst my bubble, and I had already forged in my mind, ideas about black men. So, from this class, I was not expecting a miracle but was still hoping to find answer. During the semester, we read many books, articles and watched many movies about black men, ... Seeing those little tough black American kids specially Montrey that got sent to Kenya to free themselves of all this though man act and permit them to just be kid and the way they turned out to be good student. Another author that have affected my view on the masculinity subject is Ta Nehesi Coates with the sentence Not being violent enough could cost me my body. Being too violent could cost me my body. We could not get out. This explains how black men are stuck with no control over their body. As a black man, the way to succeed the street is violence named the struggle if you decide not to, the street may succeed you. But if you let violence take over you, you may lose yourself to the police. That brings us to thinking about the new Jim Crow that is somehow explaining how many black people ends up in jail losing most of their citizenship rights. I used to believe that all the black homeless and mendicants were lazy that they should find jobs until I read the new Jim crow . In fact, they can t find jobs because employers will discriminate them as soon as you check the box also, if you are liberated on probation, you will have to pay fees which is impossible with no money. Plus, because on the limit of public assistance since you are labelled ex offender, you can t get food, food stamp, public housing, etc. In fact, you can t even vote. By the way, I am pretty sure that if they could vote it would have high impact in some results. Sadly, nothing is done to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 31. Understanding the Black Power Movement Introduction Understanding the Black Power Movement as it relates to the creation of Black or African American study programs and departments is to recognize the efforts of radical student activists on college campuses. The prevailing thought of the Black existence casted doubt on the importance of Black/African studies at colleges and universities. Blacks, unfortunately, were thought to not have a history, or at least one not worth examining, in the American existence and even within world civilization. However, such as notion is baseless. In the tens of thousands of years of civilization, Africans have witnessed and contributed to the productivity of the human existence. The great salt and gold kingdoms of the Ghanaian and Malian Empires thrived long before the Hapsburg and Bourbon dynasties rules Spain and France, respectively. Yet, the contributions of those great African civilizations were often ignored in the historiography of early civilizations. Even the contributions of the Ancient Egyptians have become part of the ensemble of the Greek and Roman tragedy, removing Egypt from the history of Africa. The contributions of Black Americans in the history of the United States were virtually absent prior to the creation of Black Study programs and departments. The assumption of Black history was that it included the 300 plus years of enslavement, the Civil War (where student are indoctrinated to believe that President Lincoln intended on freeing Blacks) and then the more ... • 32. The Motivation and Consequences of Fear Essay In today s society fear is the cause of most violence. Fear is motivated in a lot of ways from TV to face on face interaction. Society should learn to overcome fear and be moti vated by desire to be seen as free and equal. In this essay I m going to give examples of cases where fear played a big role that caused problems. To enlighten the negatives and positives that fear has to show. When there is violence there is always an explanation to what happen. The explanation mostly is fear started from the time of 1692. One sneeze would have ended his life and when he recovered he went out and still fought not for fear but for desire to be treated equal as others. I m so happy that you didn t sneeze , is a quote from a letter a young white girl wrote because she did not have fear to look up to him as a leader. This article proves to show fear is only what you don t know and desire to be equal and fee takes you far. West borough represents fear in such a good way. It shows how far fear can take you just because you don t know the meaning of something. They teach their children god hates fags but there children ant even identify what a fag is. That is an example of how you let fear over cloud your judgment. To the point where you can t identify exactly what you hate what god hate only because you re afraid. • 33. What Is My Favorite Season Of Autumn Bare Branches When autumn begins the atmosphere is different, the air is crisp and the ground is crunchy with leaves. There s a heavy light that falls over the earth, red and orange light hit the hilltops just perfectly at sunset. The beauty in autumn is one I will never get over, the memories it brings when I feel the cold air hit my skin is all worth the leaves falling and showing their bare branches. Autumn is my favorite season because of the weather, the beauty it has, and the comfort it brings to me. Finally getting relief from the hot summer sun is one of my favorite reasons why I adore autumn. I m always anxious waiting for the day I can shut off my air conditioner and open a window to reveal the sweat breeze. The neutral temperature is perfect for outdoor activities. Like grilling for a BBQ, taking a long walk or hike, or playing some games outside. Breathing in the natural air always feels amazing, it makes it easier. Sweating is not ideal, so when its autumn and the hot weather is finally gone I feel a sense of relief that I m not drenched from head to toe. My favorite thing to do during fall is watch the leaves change colors, and then fall to reveal the beautiful bare branches. The vibrant colors that bounce off the leaves make my mood shift. I ... • 34. The U-High Creek Experiment The U high freshman biology class designed an experiment to test the question; based on the number of micro invertebrates, what is the water quality of the U high creek? On 9/22/14, the day of the experiment, the conditions were recorded at 10:05 AM. The temperature was 55 degrees with a 6 mph wind, and 62% humidity. One of the observations of the creek is that there was some garbage and trash on the banks, although there was minimal amount. Another observation was that there was run off leading into the creek from roads, nearby parking lots, and neighboring yards. There were about 40 small fish, only about 2 3 inches long swimming north against the current. The water was also very clear, and the bottom was clearly visible. Based on the observations ... The 7 pollution sensitive organisms in the creek are worth three points each on the water quality index, plus the 10 moderately tolerant organisms each 2 points and the 7 tolerant organisms each 1 point add up to get the 48 water quality index. The water quality level is considered excellent if it is 23 or above. The water quality in the U High creek is more than twice that. There were many different types of organisms found in the creek including 7 pollution intolerant micro invertebrates. The total number of organisms including the 88 pollution intolerant Caddis fly larvae point to a low pollution level in the creek. The 10 moderately tolerant micro invertebrates also point to low polluted creek. There were also a high number of midges and aquatic worms. The water in the creek was also very clear and did not have a smell. There were many small fish and plants growing in and around it concluding a low pollution level in the ... • 35. Examples Of Vestibulee In Dante s Inferno Dante, first, talks about the people of Vestibule. These people are considered trimmers and neutrals. People who are in Vestibule are neither a part of Heaven nor Hell. The consequences of their actions in this world is reflected in the afterlife as a punishment. Their punishment is chasing a banner and being bitten by insects. Chasing a banner is a punishment which reflects that these people followed every opportunity in the world; therefore, they will keep doing the same thing in the hereafter. The connection between the insects and the people of Vestibule is insects benefit from human beings as the people of Vestibule continually benefit from other people throughout their lifetime. Their punishment is not an external punishment because what they plant now is what they will harvest later. Virgil says, We have come to the place where / I said that you would see the woeful people / who have lost the good of the intellect (Dante, 1417). This quote explains how these people created their own Hells by using their intellect for the wrong purposes. They got what they deserved as the actions ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The punishment for the angry is thrashing around and taring each other as for the sullen it is being unheard and unseen. Trashing around and taring each other fits their sin because angry people always fight with others, therefore, their punishment is trashing. Being submerged fit the sullen because the sullen people were given a promising life, however they spent their lives moping and pitying themselves. Dante explains these people as, In the world he was an arrogant person; / no kindness adorned his memory, / so his shade is furious here (Dante, 46 48). He adds, As one who learns of a great trick, / played on him and who resents it, / so Phlegyas became in his pent up rage. (Dante, 1433). This example shows that even the guardian of this circle, Phlegyas, is very angry which represents the sinners of this Hell s ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 36. Clubs Should Be Allowed In High School When I first arrived to Simpson, the campus had an organization fair where all the clubs on campus were available for students to explore. I went to the fair and signed up for four clubs: Rotaract, Pre Health Society, Breast Cancer Awareness Club and Campus Activity Board Club. I was involved in many athletics and clubs throughout high school and plan to be very involved in clubs here at Simpson. I m anxious to begin these clubs over the next four years. The first club meeting I attended was CAB, which is short for Campus Activities Board, and so far, it seems to be a perfect fit for me. At the meeting, the upperclassmen leaders talked to us about what CAB involves and how it is divided into different committees for students to be a part of. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I think that being in clubs, such as CAB, is great for students because it helps undergraduates gain better social skills, keeps students busy, and teaches them to manage their time. Statistics show that students who are busy in athletics or clubs often achieve a higher GPA than students who do not participate in extracurricular activities, so that is another major reason why I chose to be active in clubs on campus. By becoming active in clubs, students are able to interact with the Simpson community and possibly go out of their comfort zone by experiencing new things. Clubs are a great way to meet new people and make connections that may stick with you forever. Keeping myself busy is important to me and by signing up for CAB and other clubs, I know I will stay busy but not be overloaded. Simpson College offers around forty clubs to keep their students busy on campus and possibly explore what we like and dislike. I think that the college does a great job of creating a variety of clubs for undergraduates of all interests. Also, if a student doesn t see the club they want, the campus allows them to begin a club with approval. I believe that some of the clubs can help students get an internship and get opportunities to interact with professionals in their desired career. By being active in CAB, students can discover if they enjoy organizing events or speaking in front of large ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
