Sample Narrative Essay High School
Crafting a narrative essay on the topic of "Sample Narrative Essay High School" can be both
challenging and rewarding. On one hand, the familiarity of the subject may seem comforting, as
high school experiences are personal and relatable. However, this familiarity can also pose a
challenge – finding a unique angle or perspective that sets your essay apart from others.
The difficulty lies in striking a balance between capturing the essence of the high school
experience and avoiding clichГ©s or generic narratives. It requires introspection and creativity to
weave a compelling story that engages the reader while staying true to the essence of your own
high school journey.
Additionally, the challenge is not just in narrating events chronologically but in infusing the
narrative with emotions, reflections, and lessons learned. This demands a thoughtful selection of
anecdotes and a keen understanding of how those moments shaped your growth.
Moreover, conveying the significance of the experiences without falling into the trap of sounding
overly sentimental or melodramatic is another hurdle. It's about finding the right tone to connect
with the reader authentically.

What Is Sleep Paralysis
SLEEP PARALYSIS RESEARCH PAPER
Sleep paralysis has a history that stretches over centuries, with a vast array of people
experiencing it. Some believe they have been visited by demons, or aliens in the
night and attribute such events to witchcraft or Satanism. There are references to
folklore from every nation throughout history. The Nightmare, is a painting by Henry
Fuselli that dates to 1781, and depicts a chilling sleep paralysis incidence. In this
painting, a malicious spirit sits on a man s chest while the victim lies there limp and
unable to fight back. The cultural and spiritual implications of this phenomena is
unique amongst neurological ailments. Isolated sleep paralysis (ISP) is the inability
to move or talk during the transition between sleep and wakefulness, accompanied by
auditory and visual hallucinations that are often extremely hostile. These
hallucinations can include a wicked existence in the room, an impression of being
touched, or hearing voices in the room. Some people see faces at the bedside. This
is typically accompanied by a perceived breathlessness. Patients describe the
experience as petrifying. Episodes tend to be more recurrent when sleeping in the
supine position. ISP usually happens when ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Some people have entered sleep paralysis directly from lucid dreaming or entered
lucid dreaming from a state of sleep paralysis. The indications are that people who
are experiencing both patterns are also undergoing a greater dissociative experience
in daily life. In lucid dreaming the dreamer is aware that they are dreaming and is
therefore able to control the dream. These dreams are characterized by increased
insight, and even access to waking memories. This dissociate experience is generally
positive and can leave the dreamer feeling blissful. These are directly inverted from
the intruder and incubus hallucinations of ISP (Denis Poerio,
Ronald Takaki Model Minority Analysis
Of all the problems Asian Americans face that Ronald Takaki mentioned, it seems
that the Yellow Peril , Bamboo Ceiling , and Model Minority are the major issues.
The hysteria of Asians are going to takeover the United States is such arrogance. In
addition, the notion that Asian Americans are having the most success in America is
completely overblown. Moreover, the misrepresentations that all Asian Americans are
not leaders or have poor communication tendencies are wrong. These stereotypes have
negatively affected Asian Americans and it still being used today. Ronald Takaki
believes that those three major issues Yellow Peril , Bamboo Ceiling , and Model
Minority are cause of Asian Americans discrimination. Even though Asian Americans
Impact Of John Woolman On African American
Abolitionists
The Philadelphia Quakers are an extremely religious organization who actively
practice what they preach. The one thing the Quakers believed strongly in was
equality for all, but they did not always believe owning slaves was a sinful act.
Scholars such as Aptheker, Cole, Glickman, Houston, and Newman, all believe that
John Woolman was the main and most important Quaker abolitionist that applied his
religious views to introduce the idea that slaverywent against Quaker s Christian
religion. There are also two other main Quaker abolitionists that fought alongside
Woolman, and all three left a significant impact on the Quaker society. Why is
Woolman considered the main abolitionist who got people to follow him and change
their views on slavery?... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
John Woolman is the first and most important Quaker to start the Abolitionists among
the Quaker society. Evidence proves that he was the first Quaker to speak up about
the Quaker s religion and owning slaves. He is the one that had the idea that slavery
is anti Christian and should end the sinful act. Two other major abolitionists
gravitated towards Woolman because they agreed with his beliefs. Another scholarly
debate is when Quakers started taking the role as abolitionists. Evidence supports that
any of the main events such as the meeting, published writings, and other followers,
would be the main start. It only makes sense to start from the beginning at the
meeting. When Woolman spoke up about his views, it was the spark that started the
domino effect. The published writings and the other followers played a very
important role, without those things then the abolition movement might not have had
such a huge impacted on society. With all three of these combined, it lead to the
Quakers believing that slavery is a corrupt and an immoral act upon the human race
that should be
Persuasive Essay On A Healthy Diet
When it comes to picking a diet, there are 150 to choose from. So how do you
know which ones to choose? Well, pick one that is healthy and won t harm your
body, one that works well and can make you feel better about your self boost your
self esteem. Some people start to go on a diet because they think that all their
problems in their lives are about their weight. Others believe that it s an area of
their life that they can t control, they go on a diet so they can focus on something
that they can control their exercise and food intake. Some main diets that you
might hear are being a vegetarian and paleolithic. There are plenty of others, but
there is a diagnosis that is beginning to come around, which is being gluten free. A
vegetarian diet consists of only: vegetables, fruits, and dairy products to a certain
limit. When going on this diet, it excludes eating all meats. They don t believe in
the killing of animals and then eating them. A theory that most people have is they
can cook a healthy, meat free that supports weight loss and reduces the risk of
heart disease (Vegetarian Diet). Being a vegetarian, you can lose the daily needs
of your body, like the protein, but some grocery stores have soy burgers and fake
meat so that kind of diet can stay healthy. When purchasing these items, it can be a
bit overpriced. When looking for a source of protein, go towards eggs. They are a
good way to save money instead of buying pounds of meat. When looking for
grains, beans, and rice, being a vegetarian is the way to go (Vegetarian Diet). If
you keep eating fruits, veggies, and grains, they will make your body feel full of
fewer calories. When considering weight loss, it is likely to lose weight because
of the fewer calories and the body mass isn t high enough. When it comes to
preparing the food, there will always be a tasteful recipe on the internet that will
give you energy for the day and can cover your snacking habits (Vegetarian Diet).
Next is being a paleolithic. The aim of a paleo diet is to return to a way of eating
that s more like what early humans ate. MEAT! When following this diet, the main
goal is to lose weight, and they can sometimes have trouble planning their meal plans.

My Favorite Hymn is In Christ Alone
My favorite hymn is In Christ Alone. By most standards it is a modern hymn. While
many Christian hymns date back to the early church, the two songwriters of In Christ
Alone began work in 2000 and completed their work two years later. Although it
lacks historical prestige, this hymn s grandeur, strong lyrics and musical melody
elevate it to a status often only given the ancient songs. In Christ alone is
undoubtedly a very influential hymn to many in my generation. So, because of its
personal impact on my life I have chosen to name it my favorite hymn. In the autumn
of 2000, songwriter Keith Getty(Irish) and musician Stuart Townend (English) met at
a worship event in England. The two soon became good friends and began to write
traditional hymns together. Their work includes How Deep the Father s Love, My
First Love, and The King of Love. However their most famous hymn by far is In
Christ Alone. The hymn s writer Stuart Townend wanted to express the theme of the
life, death and resurrection of Christ and His ultimate sufficiency (Townend). Once
released, In Christ Alone did just that, gaining immediate popularity among
traditional Christian music purists as well as fans of more contemporary Christian
music. In 2003, a contemporary Christian group, The Newsboys, released a version of
In Christ Alone in their album Adoration: The Worship Album that topped the
Christian Music charts in the United States. Christian groups Phillips, Craig, and

The For Improving Public Education Essay
Guardians, practitioners, and policymakers agree that the key to improving public
education in America can only be done by placing highly skilled and efficient
teachers in classrooms. However, the nation lacks practical sets standards and
assessments that can guarantee that teachers are well prepared to teach. The
Professional EducationAssociations began their work in 1987, (Little, Bell, 2009).
Their primary goal was to develop standards for teacher competence in assessment of
students. The move was a reaction to the increasing concerns that potential
educational benefits of student assessments were not being met. Despite its creation,
the teacher professional standards are low and measures should be put in place to
improve them.
Unlike most high achieving nations around the globe, the United States has not
created a national system to support teachers. The country also lacks incentives to
ensure that all teachers are well prepared and ready to pass on knowledge all students
effectively when they enter the profession. There is also a lack of widely available
methods to support the evaluation and the ongoing development of teacher
effectiveness throughout their career. This goes along with the decision about their
entry and continuation in the profession (Braun, 2010). Meeting the expectation that
students will learn to high standards call on the transformation in the ways with
which the education system attracts, prepares and supports expert teachers who can

I kept working on it, and I kept falling to. Trying to get my front walkover was like
when I was trying to get my backflip a few months ago. At first I could not get it
and I struggled but I got it in a few days. Except with my front walkover I can not

Can you help me? I asked quietly,
Why? She replied,
because I can land my front walkover, I said angrily.
Sure, she replied. This had made me feel a lot happier. Because now I might have a

Hailey began giving me tips on what I could do better. She also told me what I was

knowledge. I really liked the fact that she was helping me though so I did not care
what she seemed like. She said that I need to straighten my legs and arms so I can

was feeling much happier than earlier. I was regaining hope. I also felt more
confident in myself now that I had help. I felt like I would soon succeed at it.
I was getting a lot better. With Haileys help I am to the point where I can almost

Step slower. You are stepping to fast that is why you are landing on your knees, she

The Crucible Theme Analysis
The Crucible is a play with an abundance of themes. Each of the characters have a
theme that contributes to the overall theme of the story as well. The Crucible shows
unjust decisions controlled by manipulated courts and envious girls. The court
officials put 200 people through the misery of being accused of practicing acts
associated with the devil, and they executed 20. The theme that comes to mind after
these actions are brought up is inequity. Abigail accused many people in the town of
Salemof actions that they did not do. She made the marriage of John and Elizabeth
Proctorunstable by still trying to steal John from Elizabeth even though John was
trying to regain the trust of his wife. Another theme that is present is that
reputations can be altered easily. Going back to the Abigail and John incident,
John s reputation was brought down when the court found out that he cheated on
his wife. Another example of how reputations are judged in this play is when John
didn t want his name posted on the church door. His name would have been
frowned upon since it would have been on the list of people who practiced
witchcraft, and he knew people would think less of him (62). Abigail also fed false
accusations about well respected people in the town of Salem. Abigail had told the
court that Elizabeth Proctor had been practicing the devil s work, and Elizabeth then
got taken away even though she hadn t had done anything (37). A good reputation
can be easily faltered, and it is a
Cost Accounting Essay
Introduction
Cost accounting is used by most companies whether manufacturing or service to keep
track of their daily activities. It is essential in understanding the costs of running any
enterprise. In other words they aid in determining the costs of inputs and outputs used
in production. It involves analyzing and evaluating different approaches in order to
determine the most suitable method that management can use suitably and one that
can aid in future planning. Cost accounting is therefore an essential tool in decision
making. Decisions made may involve pricing levels, future investment, production
levels and coming up with a good competitive strategy. Different industries use
different cost accounting method depending on the type of services provided or
product manufactured. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Another disadvantage of standard costing is that organizations which use it in most
cases usually react to matters instead of finding a proactive approach of mitigating
the errors. Inefficient processes are allowed to run and then cost comparison is done
between actual and normal cost. Management may then try to eliminate the variances.
This method works on the assumption that factors such as technology remain
constant which is not logical especially in this dynamic world where prices of
commodities keep on changing. This leads to organizations revising their standard
costing instead of taking corrective actions.
Standard costing cannot be used in companies that produce heterogeneous products
since it works only where the components and processes are the same and repeat
themselves and this result in production of identical goods and services. This does
not take into account customer preferences since customers need diverse types of
goods. This makes it difficult to be applied in many accounting
Murder And The Mean Street Analysis
While American and British authors developed the two distinct schools of detective
fiction, known as hard boiled and golden age, simultaneously, the British works
served to continue traditions established by earlier author; American works formed
their own distinct identity. Though a niche category, detective works reflect the
morality and culture of the societies their authors lived in. Written in the time period
after World War I, Dashiell Hammett
s The Maltese Falcon (1929) and The Gutting of
Couffignal (1925), and Raymond Chandlers Trouble Is My Business (1939) adapt
their detectives to a new harsh reality of urban life. In hard boiled works, the

While Mary Evans claims that Agatha Christie s detectives maintain a respect for the
institutional order, ( 76) the detectives of Hammett and Chandler actively reject
societal conventions in pursuit of justice. Dennis Porter elaborates on this when he
explains how the point of view of the typical private eye is, then, a concentrate of of
populist ideology (175). By forming their own moral compasses and acting
independently of the police, they are attacking the corruptions of establishment and
are more accurately depicting the situation in urban cities. Though Christie s world is
distinct from this American one, her famous detectives Miss Marple and Hercule
Poirot always apprehend the proper criminal, which does not reflect the imperfections
of crime solving in the time period. Christie is not entirely wrong in her interpretation
of her characters and their place in society, but she believes that the causation of
crime is individual. This same optimism does not fit with Hammett s civic world of
the United States [...] that is deeply corrupt (Evans 82). Additionally, the hard boiled
detective contributes to a more realistic interpretation of life because even though
they represent an ultimate good, they have imperfections. Dashiell Hammett s Sam

Essay On Bill And Vera Cleaver s Where The Lilies Bloom
On average, ten thousand hundred people read Goldilocks each year in many
different languages. But has anyone ever compared it to life lessons or other
books? They re alike in many ways. Robert Southey, in 1837, wrote the first
recorded version of Goldilocks and the Three Bears. In this version, Goldilocks
breaks into the bears house and tries out all of their of belongings, and she also
breaks some things. The bears come home and finds her lying in one of their beds.
She wakes up and she quickly runs away. Where the Lilies Bloom is a novelby Bill

family includes Mary Call, the one who takes over when her father dies, Devola,
the oldest, Romey, the only boy left in the family, and Ima Dean. In this novel, a
poor family of sharecroppers, the Luthers, loses their dad and has to learn to

Ethical Marketing Techniques And Its Effects On The...
To what extent unethical marketing techniques could damage the sustainable
business environment. Discuss.
Marketing is like a double edged sword, if it is adopted properly, it will give profits to
a company; however, if it is used inadequately, it will give harm. It is undeniable that
today s business operations have more intense competition level against each other
due to the advancement of technology that allows people to receive more
information. Marketing plays the key role in making products being recognized by
consumers. To get people s attention, some massages about the product need to be

To illustrate, the famous fast food restaurant, Burger King, used the famous clown
character, Ronald McDonald, from its competitor s company, McDonald s, in Burger
King s TV advertisement. It is obvious that the advertisement tries to communicate
that even Ronald McDonald chooses Burger King s hamburger (MARQUES, 2005).
And, this is misleading as it effects McDonald s reputation. In addition, this TV
advertisement was banned in Germany and was a big discussion issue in Netherlands
(van Leeuwen, 2005; MARQUES, 2005).

The sustainable business environment can be greatly impacted by these unethical
marketing practices. More and more companies use unethical techniques to market
their target group, and sometimes, to beat their competitors. Those companies may
select the unethical way to do marketing and may claim that it is technically legal as
the action is not against the law, but it fails in term of the ethical view. Nevertheless,
it is not worth for those companies to apply unethical marketing strategies as there are
negative consequences from using these unethical tactics. Before discussing about the
negative impacts of immoral marketing techniques, let s take a look at the sustainable
business environment first. Lee Cockerell, the former executive vice president of
Suzanne Lynch s Portrait In Georgia
When referring to the race of the body described in Portrait in Georgia, Suzanne
Lynch wrote positioning this woman as neither black nor white, within a world so
polarized by color, makes her a destabilizing force within the power dynamics of
the culture... If the poem strips this Georgia woman of her wholeness and reduces
her to a series of fragments, it also accounts for that effect by placing her in a social
setting of violent white dominance. In summary, Lynch s response is attempting to
convey the subject of Jean Toomer s poem Portrait in Georgia is purposely not given
a race, and might be a black, mixed race, or raceless woman to make the reader

Her features remind him of her direct role in racism and the physical harm that could
come his way. The speaker begins by describing her hair as braided chestnut,
/ coiled like a lyncher s rope (Toomer 1 2). Lynch concludes the subject s braids
symbolize the indelibly intertwined lives of black and whites, braided in a common
southern experience. I consider the opposite, concluding these two lines represent
the racial divide between the speaker and the subject of the poem, rather than a
union. The woman s hair is braided like a lyncher s rope and the color of her hair,
chestnut, describes a type of tree of which the rope might hang if the speaker
interacted with the white woman. Similarly, and not mentioned by Lynch, the
woman s eyes are then figuratively compared to the burning of a body during a
lynching, evident through Toomer s use of fagots, or a bundle of sticks intended to
be lit (Toomer 3). The speaker cannot admire even her most mundane features, like
hair or eyes, because it reminds him of the racial division between the two. Her
features compared to a tree, rope, and fire in that back to back manner further imply
the representation of the speaker s feasible gruesome

To be specific, the first exploration launched from Plymouth, England April 1584, a
long while since John went on a journey with Martin Frobisher. Thomas Harriot is
present during this exploration (Moran). Thomas Harriot, to sum it up, was, first
of all, a lifelong friend of Raleigh s. He was an astronomer, mathematician, and a
master of navigation. He even founded the school of algebra and constructed
telescopes (States). He and White went together and were in charge with drawing
and mapping the people and land they encountered. They also learned about the
Algonquian language and culture from the wanchese and Manteo. As you may

John white and Thomas Harriot explored earlier in 1584. Raleigh s first attempt at

had made enemies of the Indians there. He made another attempt; though, replacing

of Roanoke, not to mention the extremely dangerous shallow waters. January 7,
1587, Raleigh drew up a

Similarities Between Ancient Greece And China Essay
1. Using three civilizations as examples, describe the concept of the Axial Age The
concept of axial age was introduced into the sphere of philosophical knowledge by
German existentialist philosopher Karl Jaspers for characterizing the period of
ancient history during about the 8th to the 3rd century BC. In this period of time we
have developed a fundamentally new religious beliefs and doctrines that promoted
human and cultural values of the era. Jaspers described the Axial Age as an
interregnum between two ages of great empire, a pause for liberty, a deep breath
bringing the most lucid consciousness. Jaspers argued that during the Axial Age, the
spiritual foundations of humanity were laid simultaneously and independently in
China, India, Persia, Judea and Greece. And these are the foundations upon which
humanity still subsists today. Consider, for example Greece, India and China. Ancient
Greece up to the 6th century BC was on a par with other civilizations by the level of
spiritual development. Hellenic culture range was one of those, whose coordinate
system covers the problems of family, God, nature and Eros. As a general rule, the
mentality of this culture consisted the two vectors Apollonian and Dionysian.
Dionysian beginning was aimed at the satisfaction of the instinctual needs, as
opposed to the Apollonian, whose essence consisted of creative and scientific
elements. The widespread fall of the monarchy and the actualization role of the nation

Adverse effects of removable partial denture on the periodontium
Prosthesis as a term is defined as the artificial appliance which intends to replace a
lost part of the human body. Moreover, prosthodontics is a branch in dentistry that
deals with the replacement of missing teeth and associated structures to restore both
function and esthetics. Given that, prosthodontics if branched as fixed prosthodontic,
removable prosthodontics which includes: complete denture and partial denture, and
finally maxillofacial prosthodontics.
Removable partial denture is one of the crucial prosthetics used for partially

teeth in his/her oral cavity for functional and esthetic demands. However, its

As the population of our constantly changing world is increasing, the demands of

One of the main disadvantages of removal of partial denture is that it has a higher
tendency to accumulate plaque which affects the periodontal health of the abutment

the material of denture, oral hygiene of the patient, or susceptible areas of plaque
accumulation. The adverse effects of accumulation of plaque is tremendous and is
capable of producing severe oral inflammations in the oral tissues as well as other
oral diseases. Generally speaking, the oral hygiene of the patient is causative factor

This trend, expected to last over next decade at least, will most probably exacerbate

other side their production costs. As final result, volumes shipments imbalance over

Effects Of Poverty In Nigeria
Poverty is a multidimensional phenomenon. Poverty is a denial of choices and
opportunities, a violation of human dignity. It means lack of basic capacity to
participate effectively in society. It means not having enough to feed and clothe a
family, not having a school or clinic to go to; not having the land on which to grow
one s food or a job to earn one s living, not having access to credit. It means
insecurity, powerlessness and exclusion of individuals, households and communities.
It means susceptibility to violence, and it often implies living on marginal or fragile
environments, without access to clean water or sanitation. It has risen in Nigeriawith
almost 100 million people living on less than $1 a day, despite economic growth,
statistics have shown. The ethical theory associated with this is the egoism theory

In Nigeria, widespread and severe poverty is a reality. It is a reality that depicts a lack
of food, clothes, education and other basic amenities. Severely poor people lack
the most basic necessities of life to a degree that it can be wondered how they

poverty in Nigeria. One of the main effects of poverty is poor health, as is reflected
Bottled Water Crisis
According to the article cision Nestle Waters North America Donates more than 1

much bottled water was donated to hurricane harvey survivors and bottled water isn t

Little less than half a million people work for bottled water companies in the U.S.
According to IBWA approximately 471,700 Americans were employed for bottled

of all those people that would lose their job.

It s Time to Abolish Speed Limits Essay
It s Time to Abolish Speed Limits
It is 8:45 and Paul has just gotten on the interstate to make his normal commute to
Longview from Tyler. About halfway there, Paul notices a state trooper right behind
him. He frantically checks his speed! Too late!!!!!! The state trooper turns on his
lights. Not only was Paul speeding, but now he will be late to a very important
meeting at work.
The problem here is that Paul was just driving to work. He was not intentionally
speeding just to get away with it. Neither was he driving reckless. He was just
carrying on with his life. Every day people go through this very scenario. They are
ticketed for driving safely although faster than the speed limit, and minding their own
business. The freeways ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
First of all, have you ever noticed that if you travel on Interstate 45 or on Interstate
20 for a long enough distance that there is always construction dealing with the
resurfacing or complete revamping of the roadway. Have you ever wondered why
they are working on the road or thought that it was just another government scam to
cost the taxpayers more money? The common thought asserted here is that higher
speeds create more wear and tear on the roadways. Another factor of speeding is
damage inflicted on cars while drivers are driving fast. This side asserts that the
faster the car runs, the harder the engine works; the harder the engine, works the
more wear the car takes. This may have been true with automobiles made several
years ago, but the cars and trucks manufactured today are quality automobiles. They
are tested very rigorously in order to withstand wear and tear. Second, the
government would also like us to believe that driving high speeds causes more
deaths than driving slowly. According to the Transportation Accident Commission,
Last year Victoria recorded its worst road toll in a decade, with speed being the
main cause of fatalities (36%) and serious injury (33%). (Transport Accident
Commission) This group is asserting that a person speeding is more likely to cause
death than a person not speeding. According to P.E. Spitz:
Essay About Pluto
Pluto was normally accustomed to living with the feeling of a vast pool of
darkness. However, that all changed once he met Proserpina. She shocked everyone
when she created a spark that was like an unusual light in his eyes that no on had
ever seen before. Whenever Proserpina was in his presence, he grew kinder to those
around him. Before Proserpinalived with Pluto, she once before lived with her
mother Ceres, the goddess of harvest. She grew up alongside nature so being taken
to the underworld; a place where living things always died came as a huge shock
to her at first. Instead of the warmth felt when the sun rose, she felt a coldness
engulf her, as it was always set. The goddess of harvest quickly grew sad with the
unnerving loss of her daughter, which resulted in her not doing her job that was to
create food for the Earth. Hours turned into days turned into months until she came to
the solution to share her daughter with Pluto.

External and Internal Conflicts in Ofelia s World
Guillermo Del Toro s Pan s Labyrinth tells the story of Ofelia who experiences

Prison Is A Building For The Confinement Of Criminals
Or...
According to the Oxford Dictionary, prison is a building for the confinement of
criminals or those awaiting trial . The reasoning behind the prison has been one of the
controversial issues since 20th century. The following essay considers the practicality
of prisons, particularly whether the foremost purpose of the legal system by prisoning
the victims is to punish offenders or to preserve the public, to rehabilitate criminals.
In particular, this essay will attempt to give a balanced argument both to support and
against the imprisonment system. To begin with, Telegraph News has drawn
attention to the fact that, with fewer than 15 open prisons in the UK, our system is
focused on punishmentrather than rehabilitation. This indicates that, first and
foremost reason of prisoning the criminals in United Kingdom is to punish them by
evacuating from public for a while. Community sentences and programmes that are
outcome focused are the most successful penal intervention at preventing reoffending
and have the support of victims. By punishing offenders government reduces the
crimerate, since victims will foresee the results of their actions and probably they will
feel more embarrassed to repeat their actions. Furthermore, another purpose of
imprisonment is to rehabilitate criminals and to correct some of the inadequacies of
offenders that may be linked to their criminal behaviour and their continued
involvement in the criminal justicesystem. Rehabilitation refers as,
Sting Of Intentional Pain Summary
In this article, The Sting Of Intentional Pain by Kurt Gray and Daniel M. Wegner
they offer an inside account of how intentional pain actually causes more pain than
unintentional pain. These authors prove this through an experiment where forty three
people came together, and were met with a study partner called a confederate . These
individuals were then moved to individual rooms where they would be administered
simple psychophysical test but primarily a discomfort assessment.
An electric shock would be used on these people, according to a 7 point scale that
would determine how uncomfortable they felt with 7 being the highest. Shocks, were

participants looked at a computer screen that had only two potential task before

The Power of Cordelia s Nothing Love
The Power of Cordelia s Nothing Love
Cordelia is Lear s most loyal and loving child and yet she refuses to put on a display
of affection and sentimental love before her father s court in order to make her
father feel admired. The public display, wholly false, of affected feeling by her sisters
Regan and Goneril is enough to ensure that Cordelia will keep quiet in word (which,
as her sisters show, can be deceptive) and prove her love through action (which she
does throughout the play). As far as words go, she simply tells her father that she
loves him according to my bond; no more nor less (1.1). This should be sufficient
for Lear because it is a statement of fact: Cordelia recognizes the duty she owes her
father and is prepared to act accordingly. The same cannot be said for her sisters
who attempt to prove their love through flattery. That Lear allows himself to be
flattered by their empty words ill prepares him to receive the meaningful and rich
words of the terse Cordelia. By saying next to nothing, however, she says much
more than the others. Lear, unfortunately, fails to grasp the fullness of Cordelia s
nothing. This paper will analyze the power of nothing in King Lear and show why
Cordelia s response of nothing to her father is worth far more than the affectation of
her sisters.
The irony in Cordelia s nothing response to her father is that by saying nothing she
says everything. Lear is correct when he replies nothing will come of nothing, but he

Socialism Vs Neoliberalism
No doubt that there is an issue of economic disparity in the United States.
According to a 2013 CNN article, a study done by PEW trusts shows that 70% of
those who started off poor, stayed poor. The study followed families from 1968 and
the numbers used for this article are from 2009. A different study from the Kaiser
Family Foundation shows that in almost every state in the United States, a bigger
portion of Black and Hispanics are poor. This is when I haul in Socialismand
Liberalism/Neoliberalism. First I have to define Liberalism and Socialism;
Liberalism is the idea that all should be left to their own devices to freely compete in
the market while Pure Socialism offers to abolish private property, the market, and

to think about Democratic Socialism. Socialism, in general, is starting to become
more and more relevant today which is greatly demonstrated in the near success of

press it was usually negative. According to an article by Washington Post, an exit
poll comprised of youth (those under 30) done by Tufts University, shows that
about 2 million young people voted for Bernie Sanders in about 21 states. His
ideas and socialist views were popular amongst the young and were beginning to

There are people who say that socialism could not be possible and one of the biggest
critiques of it is Fukuyama. Fukuyama, first of all, believes that liberalism and

Designing A Product From The Ideological Incentive
Driving...
Separating a product from the ideological incentive driving the purchasing of the
product requires a critical mind that is often difficult to acquire. If a bra is bought
solely for its function, why are stores like Victoria s Secret made more available in
shopping malls, or raking in high grossing profit margins from sheer popularity? This
is because Victoria s Secret, like many other successful business enterprises, sells their
brandas a way to conduct oneself. I shop, therefore I am, in other words, buying and
wearing their underwear or lingeriegives license to be recognized by others as
existing within a certain category of person. This concept of brand identity is the
concept that Naomi Klein sharpens in her work, No Logo. A transformation
occurs where Victoria s Secret s underwear is not a product, but a way of life, an
attitude, a set of values, a look, an idea. (18). How exactly does the company place
an idea behind the bras they sell? For that answer, I turn to Jean Noel Kapferer, an
expert on brands and brand managementwho created the Brand Identity Prism . As a
management strategy, this prism guides a product from raw material to an
ideological principle, eliciting an emotional, targeted response from the consumer. In
other words, how the external qualities (company image construction) correlates with
the consumer internalization of the product (public reception of the ideology). It is
the experience that the product itself provides for the consumer that

Levels Of Organisational Behaviour
Organisational Behaviour is a study of the way in which a human behaves in an
organisation or company. This study on human behaviour can be broadly classified
into three levels, which define the unique set of roles, responsibilities, and goals of
people at each level of the organisation. These levels are: 1.Individual Level: This
level forms the base of the organizational behaviour and is related to the individuals
working in an organization. It includes the study of organizational behaviour at the
individual level and deals with the perception, personality, learning, motivation and
attitudes of the employees in an organization. 2.Group Level: The next level in
organizational behaviour is the group level, which includes the study of group
formation, team conflict, leadership, power and politics. It helps in gaining
information on how to improve the team work, motivate the employees, etc.

Abstract
Small circular pieces of DNA molecules located inside the nucleoid in bacterial
species (prokaryotes) are known
as Plasmids.Plasmids do not dictate the survival of the host bacteria, but it can give

forming into its own small colonies. No growth is also a possible outcome.
The experiment contained a total of six different petri dishes, each containing
different treatments to the E. coli.
The first petri dish held ampicillin resistance gene, luria broth and E. Coli. This
served as a positive control since there
was basically nothing to stop the E. Coli from growing. The petri dish containing
E.Coli, Luria Broth and ampicillin
with no plasmids provided us with the opposite results. There was no growth. Since
there were no plasmids in the dish
all the E. Coli died hence showing no growth.
In general E. Coli growth was directly proportional to the presence of ampicillin. If it
so happens there was
ampicillin in a petri dish with either the lux or ampicillin resistance gene, the result
would depict a colonial growth.
This is because the ampicillin and plasmid attack one another hence some die and the
others live. On the other hand if
there no ampicillin presents the petri dish would depict a lawn growth, because there
is no ampicillin there to replicate.
Introduction
We began the experiment by adding plasmids, a vector, to the bacteria E. Coli to
see the E. Coli growth with the plasmids in its DNA. Our results will conclude for
us the correlation between the transformation of a plasmid and the growth of E. Coli.

The Theme Of Love In Valentine By Carol Ann Duffy
Being in love is like an amalgamation of different yet powerful emotions exploding
every second. It tends to heighten ones perception, hence, perceiving the world
through a larger lens. It can cause a deep sense of grief at times but it can also
make one feel a certain kind of content. The very exclusive one where the abundance
of joy cannot be defined. Valentine by Carol Ann Duffy explores the many sides to
love. The entire poem is an extended metaphor that criticizes the stereotypical idea
of love. Duffy uses an onion, a very unusual object as a symbol to represent a gift for
one s admirer. The poet reveals the positive aspects of the speaker s attitude to love

Duffy utilizes a plethora of different words ranging from positive to negative. She
carefully picks them to warn the reader what your about to read isn t an ordinary
love poem. The words careful and light introduced in the first stanza express delicacy
and innocence. Love could explode at anytime yet remain stable. Duffy inserts
direct, straightforward words such as here and take it to catch the reader s
attention. These words are ended with a period giving an austere tone. The use of
negative words such as blind, tears and grief illustrate an image of sorrow and
misery creating an element of danger. Something quite uncommon for a poem
entitled valentine . Here Duffy takes the reader to the unpleasant side of love that
is often ignored in most love poems. She is conveying the true reality of being in
love and not just the fantasized version of it. In the second half of the poem, Duffy
chooses to use a more bold set of words such as fierce , possessive , lethal and
faithful which contradict the words kiss , stay and lips which is more subtle and
distinctive. The repetition of the word cling towards the end of the poem emphasizes
that once your love is vanished the scent the memory will still live on, leaving an
impression in your life, a permanent tattoo imprinted in your
Continuing Professional Development
Encouraging professional development for new and veteran teachers is very
important for multiple reasons. Often times, new teachers still need time to become
better acquainted with teaching in the classroom. On the opposite side, veteran
teachers need to know what is current in education that can be implemented in their
classroom. Professional development programs like mentorships, professional
development plans, and continued development are important programs to have in
place for teachers. For these programs to be successful and provide the support and
development that a teacher needs, they have to be quality programs. Just as students
and children have different ways that they learn, so do teachers and adults.
Programs that will provide the development in teachers that is vital for their
teaching will take this into consideration. Mentorships can be great for both new
teachers and veteran teachers because each can learn from one another. New
teachers should be paired with good veteran teachers so that they have a chance to
really learn. These have to be caring, dedicated, organized, and successful teachers
for the new teachers to really learn from them. Through these pairings, new teachers
will find comfort while they struggle at times in knowing that they are not alone.

music and arts. It is said that Cantor was a spiritual personality and believed that God
communicated some of his mathematical discoveries to him.
Georg Cantor began his career by teaching in a Berlin girls school for a brief
period of time. He then accepted a position at the University of Halle, where he

Friedrich Durrenmatt s epic tragicomedy The Visit is a haunting commentary on the
nature of mankind and morality. Bringing to the surface many questions about the
difference between justice and revenge, the play is constructed in a way that leaves
the reader at once perplexed and conflicted. The difference between right and wrong
is often overlooked and even contorted in order to conform with convenience as the
citizens of the town become more desperate. The Visit is both a philosophical
masterpiece and a harrowing tale of conditional morality.
From the very first mention of the millionairess Claire Zachanassian, the reader is

The layout of Notre Dame, the way they teach is interesting to me. They have real
lawyers who come down to teach students criminal law and evidence. They have
pretend trials as test, meaning they have their students go and be a judge, attorney,
etc... Going to this school will be challenging but iI want them to challenge me so
that I can be an extravagant lawyer. Being a lawyer has been my dream job since i
was in 6th grade, so me getting into this school would help me achieve my goals. I
picked Notre Dame because, I was looking online about what kind of colleges there
is to help me become a successful lawyer. I was flummoxed by all of the colleges
that I could go to, but, what caught my eye with Notre Dame is the fact that they
will challenge me. It is a very good school to go to if you want to become a lawyer.
My uncle Jack is a lawyer, he went to Notre Dame and he told me that it was an
excellent school to attend to. These are just some of the reasons I wish to attend the
University of Notre Dame. There are many reasons why and how Notre Dame is the
college I want to attend after I graduate high school. If I can t attend Notre Dame for
whatever reason, I would like to attend Yale or Harvard. They are also really good
colleges to attend. Although they are not the school I really wish to attend they will
do just fine
A Study On Korean University Curriculum
According to the above research about Korean university curriculum, most of courses
aim to educate BIM, which means they are fully related to BIM. On the other hands,
a few of them are digital graphic representation course, which educate BIM modelling
in order to improve architectural presentation skill.
Additionally, engineering program curriculum of the 10 universities, mentioned
previously, are also researched in order to find out whether their engineering programs
have any cooperation courses for BIM education. In engineering program, BIM is
able to apply on administration of construction process, integrated design delivery
project, construction management, structural analysis, and costing construction, and
it has many other related subjects which is able to applied indirectly. However, only 2
universities have BIM course, and 1 university is planning to apply into the
engineering program curriculum among the previously mentioned 10 university.
According to the Universities engineering program curriculum, their major goal of
the courses is that students have effective architectural digital design skill and
flexibly responding technique to the design changes during the project. Moreover,
during the courses, student can understand how data or information of architectural
design is shared with construction by computer science and digital technology in
design and construction phase. Therefore, according to the researches in terms of
BIM course in architecture and
A Psychological Reading of A Rose for Emily Essay
Freud and Faulkner A psychoanalytic Reading of A Rose for Emily Abstract
Undoubtedly Sigmund Freud is the father of psychoanalysis. He was an influential
thinker of the early twentieth century who elaborated the theory that the mind is a
complex energy system and the structural investigation of which is the proper
province of psychology. Freud articulated and refined the concepts of the
unconscious, infantile sexuality and repression and he proposed tripartite account of
the mind s structure, all as part of a radically new conceptual and therapeutic frame of
reference for the understanding of human psychological development and the
treatment of abnormal mental conditions. Freudian approach can be... Show more

in this stage where girls develop penis envy , the solution is to obtain the father s
penis (sexual desire) through identifying with the mother and mimicking her in
order to replace her. Emily fails to resolve the conflict in the phallic stage because
she was unable to identify with the same sex parent. We can only hypothesize that
the mother may have abandoned her or died during this time so that there was no
same sex parent to identify with. Failure to identify with the mother led to the
failure of successfully obtaining the penis, and the failure to understand through
psychosexual competition with the mother for the father, that all women do not
and cannot possess a penis. Emily then begets a nonnegotiable necessity to have a
phallic figure around in her life, and if she can t, a possession of the penis herself.
Emily s submissiveness to letting her father control her romantic life can be
interpreted as the need to have her father s phallic figure around but when her
father died, the phallic figure was castrated from her. The realization of the
temporality of this kind of possession may have triggered the need to permanently
have control over the possession of the penis in the form of a phallic figure. This
may explain the poisoning of Homer, a big, dark, ready man, with a big voice , in
the ultimate attempt to obtain the penis and finally, however perversely, resolve the
penis envy. Emily herself is transformed and tragically into somewhat of a
Nuclear Proliferation Essay
Nuclear Proliferation
Andrew Jackson s farewell address to the nation, he stated, We shall more certainly
preserve peace when it is well understood that we are prepared for war, (Political
Quotations #3719). The United States has always throughout history been a major
military power from the use of abnormal tactics during the Revolutionary War (1776)
to the use of its technology and advanced weapons in the Persian Gulf War (1991).
After World War II and the Cold WarEra, the United States has been able to defend

The American people feel the system is unnecessary for the protection of the

United States now has to worry about such Rogue nations like North Korea, Iran and

at least a decade to develop intercontinental ballistic missiles capable of reaching the

How Is Invictus Historically Accurate
It always seems impossible until it s done. (Nelson Mandela quotes) I recently
watched the movie Invictus. After watching the movie, reading the book and doing
research on true events, time period and people I will prove that the film, Invictus,
was not historically accurate by discussing the true historical people and events,
summarizing the movie, and comparing and contrasting how the movie portrayed
the true people and events. Nelson Mandela was born in 1918 and was named
Rolihlahala which means troublemaker. He wasn t given the name Nelson until he
was seven years old and in school. (Quick Facts) He was the first in his family to
attend a school.(17 facts) His father was Chief Henry of the Thembu tribe. He lost

Such as when Mandela gave the poem Invictus to Francois. This did not actually
happen. Instead Mandela gave him a copy of the The Man in the Arena passage
from the president of the United States (Mandela). In the movie when the plane
flew over the field before the big game, it was not supposed to happen. Both
Mandela and the security guards were shocked at the sight because it was not
approved. Turns out this was just made up. The plane did get permission to fly
over the field and all the the security guards knew that it was going to happen.
These are just a few of the things that were changed for the making of this movie.
Although it was a very good movie, it is not completely historically accurate. I
personally really liked this movie. Mainly because it tells a very interesting story
and really catches your attention and keeps it through the entire film. I do not think
that this movie was completely historically accurate. There was many moments
where you would notice that things were not how they were supposed to be. Then
when I researched I found many more that I had not noticed in the movie. Therefore
my answer to the question, Is it Hollywood or History? I have decided that I think
this movie is mainly
Summary Of Cordelia In William Shakespeare s King Lear
Comparing a character to the Christ figure standard has been literary device seen
throughout literature s long history. However, are all the characters attached to this
epithet worthy of such a comparison? Cordelia from William Shakespeare s King
Lear has been one of these characters that have been perceived to emulate many of the
Christ figure characteristics. Her unconditional lovefor her father, even in the face of
his betrayal, her capacity for forgiving those that had betrayed her, and her ability
to sacrifice her personal safety to come to that aid of her father does seem to
complete the picture of her emittance into a literary rendition of the Christ figure.
However, there are still many more characteristics that Cordelia embodies such as
pride, her willingness to promote violence to achieve goals and the fact that her
death did not become a catalyst of great change, that completely goes against the
Christ standard. Does this mean that we should discount and ignore those qualities
in order to ensure her acceptance as a Christ figure? If we start to question the
saintliness of Cordelia, how does that alter the reader s perception of King Lear and
his supposed redemption through Cordelia s death? Pride has been considered a
fatal flaw for most of the literary characters that possess it. Cordelia s pride is tested
when her father declares that his three daughters must declare their love and affection
for their father in such a public fashion. The young princess does
A Writing Assignment For College Students
A writing assignment used to mean an easy five paragraph essay. It was an essay that
students mastered and could complete in an hour. Unfortunately, that is no longer the
case and we are now assigned papers with a requirement of at least five pages.
Throughout the past week, I have asked several classmates about their assignments,
specifically, about their writingprocess. From there, I noticed that several students
did one thing similar...they all gave up after just an hour or so. While, I am no
stranger to procrastination, I never thought this would be a common part of the
writing process for college students. After carefully examining the responses I
understood that while taking a break , students thought: new ideas would come to
them, they would get more time to research, and maybe the requirements would
change. First, my classmates assumed that if they simply stopped for a while then
maybe they would get fresh ideas. Unfortunately, that is not the way it will work.
Once I asked them, did you receive ideas after waiting , most of them said no.
Instead, it seemed to be an excuse to find distractions like television or hanging out
with friends. They assumed they would find inspiration for their paperby taking a
break from it, but that did not work. Another common example I saw was taking a
break to make sure the ideas were written correctly. However, while I can understand
the rational behind this, I do not believe it is the correct step. Students should be

Australia And The White Australia Policy
Australia in terms of immigration, has had a poor history of dealing with people
travelling into the country, shown in the beginning of hand picking the majority of
Australia s population. However as the decades have rolled on, whether it be forced
or by choice, Australia has become looser and more free in access and treatment
within the country and importantly, less discriminatory. In order to see these
improvements, the start must be shown, in which is generally summarised by the
White AustraliaPolicy.
The White Australia policy introduced as the Immigration Restriction Act in 1901.
The policy was about changing Australia s population so that it was, like that of
Great Britain. The act was passed by the federal government of Australia
(Immi.gov.au, 2014). The policy was extremely supported and applauded by the
public, with Prime Minister Hughes in 1919 stating (this is) the greatest thing we
have achieved (Immi.gov.au, 2014).
The White Australia Policy is one of the most infamous acts passed in Australian
history. It discriminated against countless of different races. The policy was created
with the purpose to recreate the image of a White Australia . This was the old
approach taken by the Australian government to select immigrants from the white
countries like the United Kingdom and stop the entry of immigrants not from white
countries. Australia was following the example set by Great Britain, as shown in a
statement made by W.G. Spence If we keep the race pure,
Flu Shots Experience
Today I got to experience giving middle school and high school students flu shots at
Lanier County Middle/High School. I was expecting the students to be nervous and
show signs of intimidation at the sight of the needle. Before going to the school, I
helped the nurse gather the equipment we were going to use, which included, the
influenzaimmunizations, Band Aids, alcohol prep wipes, and gloves. We also
brought colorful pencils and stickers for the students after receiving their flu shot.
The nurse also made sure to bring the emergency kit, which consisted of epinephrine,
just in case anyone had an allergic reaction. Once we arrived at the school, we
discovered that only 30 students out of 800 had consent forms to receive their flu...

This health department does a good job with keeping patients up to date on their
immunizations. A patient came in wanting a flu shot, and was 69 years old. The
nurse questioned the patient about if she had ever received the pneumococcal
immunization. The patient had never received the vaccine, so we talked to the patient
about its importance, and she ended up getting immunized. We had another young
couple come in for flu shots, so I got a lot of practice with giving intramuscular shots
today. Generally, I think Lanier County health department does contribute to the
overall health of the community. They are efficient when a patient comes in to do a
thorough assessment, not just physical, but asking about the patients home life and
family. The number of people that have come to the health department to receive an
influenza shot has represented a large portion of Lanier County residents. This can
potentially reduce the spread of influenza through out the community. Because there
were so few students at the schools to receive the shot, the nurses discussed going
back to the schools to try to get more students immunized in hopes of further reducing
the frequency of influenza within the school system and the
Homophobia. A Word That Has Been Thrown Around For A
While,
Homophobia. A word that has been thrown around for a while, and yet there is no
exact meaning for it. According to Wikipedia, an average website used or seen by
many people, homophobia encompasses a range of negative attitudes and feelings
toward homosexuality or people who are identified or perceived as being lesbian,
gay, bisexual or transgender (LGBT). , and yet to Merriam Webster, a highly
accredited online dictionary website, homophobia is the irrational fear of, aversion
to, or discrimination against homosexuality or homosexuals. There are many
definitions and perceptions of homophobia, all varying by mind set and cultural
stances. In Why Can t We Talk About Homophobia in the Black Community, by
Daniel Reynolds, Reynolds talks... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In, Homophobia Is Rampant in Professional Sports, Ford speaks about how in
male dominated sports coaches or other team players have tendencies to shame
athletes by calling them names such as sissies or girls (paragraph 1). Ford later
talks the causes of homophobia being hyper masculinity and the humiliation that
players were put though as children and teenagers in school teams to get short term
gains (paragraph 14). The author also states that someone in a professional team
could come out on a major team and survive, if they have the team support
(paragraph 16). Homophobia is the irrational fear and misunderstanding of people
who identify themselves as part of the LGBT community. Along with homophobia
can come irrational and heinous acts of hatred, to instill fear and panic amongst
LGBT members. This irrational fear and misunderstandings leads to the first cause
of homophobia: Religion. Religion plays a key role in black communities. According
to blackdemographics.com, 87% of Blacks (vs. 83% of all Americans) are affiliated
with a religion. It also found that 79 % of Blacks (vs. 56% overall) say that religion
is very important in their life.
Analysis Of Sembene Ousmane s God s Bits Of Wood
The period of European colonialism in Africa was rife with oppressive, racist, and
brutal power systems that acted purely in the interests of the colonizing nations. The
people being crushed under these systems engaged in many anti colonial struggles
to improve their conditions and gain liberty, however, these efforts were hindered by
selfish people, betraying those around them to work with the colonial powers, for
personal gain. Sembene Ousmane s novel, God s Bits of Wood, takes place during
the period of French colonialism, primarily in the west African country of Senegal,
known formally today as the Republic of Senegal, and additionally in what is
modern day Mali. Ousmane depicts the lives of railroad workers and their families
mainly through the activity in three cities: Bamako, Dakar, and Thies. Bamako is
the capital of modern day Mali, Dakar is the largest city in Senegal and also it s
capital, and Thies is a large city in Senegal known primarily as a wooded region.
Similar to the rest of Africa, the colonial system in Senegal was built on a system of
oppression and racism. The most blatant example of this system is in Bamako,
where the readers are shown the white governor s residence, and how it compares it
to the extremely poor quality houses nearby, where the African people live. The
book begins with a description of the city of Bamako, where in the middle of a
section of hills, onlookers can see the houses: At the center of the belt of hills the

The Giver s Flowers For Algernon
A central theme in Flowers For Algernon is that you don t have to change who you
are to fit in with others. You can be yourself and still fit in with the crowd. In the
text, Charlie wrote Maybe if I ask him he will tell me how I can think now that Im
suppose to get smart. What do smart people think about. Fancy things I suppose. I
wish I knew some fancy things alredy (Keyes 225 226). From the text, I can infer
that he wishes he was intelligent already so that he could think about fancy things,
such as smart people do. Also, in the text Charlie stated I said I asked pepul and
sumbody told me where I shud go to lern to read and spell good. They said why did
you want to. I told them becaus all my life I wantid to be smart and not dumb (pg....

All you need is bravery and determination. The theme from The Giver and the the
theme from Flowers for Algernon can have an impact on anyone s life but mostly
teens. For kids and teens all around the world, fitting in is one of the hardest things
to do. People think that they need to change themselves to fit in. Girls think they
need to wear makeup to look pretty. Guys think they need to be masculine.
Everyone around the world is pressured by society to be someone they re not. Lots
of people say that society has killed the teenager . To me that quote means that
society gives us these certain images that we are supposed to strive for. For
example, skinny, tall, perfect teeth, no acne, etc. As teens we are at the age of
wanting to fit in and be better but society is ruining how we view ourselves and the
ways we think. Also another thing is to just be yourself. If you be yourself, the
right people will come to you. For example, let s say someone starts to wear
makeup because her friends are wearing it, or someone said that she was ugly
without it. She ll start to become a person she doesn t want to be. She ll start to
become influenced by her friends and the people around her. Then she ll stop
wearing it one day and then she ll continue to stop wearing it for a while. She might
get hatred, compliments on her natural beauty, or her friends won t even care. See
what she did? She stopped pretending to be a character in a movie, and started
being herself. All she needed was bravery and determination. As you can see, the
themes in Flowers For Algernon and in The Giver relate to the real life we are facing
today. If personally myself could say something to kids and teens, I would say to just
be yourself and don t change who you are. The right people will come to you if you
are brave and
The Problem Of An Internal Malfunction Within A
Computer
Abstract
Overheating is a symptom of an internal malfunction within a computer. Although,
computer manufacturer s created the computer as new working condition, they still
fall short. God also created mankind in a good order, however, they too fell short.
Computer overheating symptoms may include the actual power supply, computer
overloading, fan failure, inadequate ventilation outside or around the computer
system, inadequate ventilation inside the computer system, and even dirt and dust.
By diagnosing the cause of overheating you can correct the problem and get your
computer back up to a normal operational use. In the same way, sin comes in many
forms and the correct solution to the problem of mankind is the Gospel of Christ.

Kinky Boots Analysis
Kinky Boots: Still Stunningly Flashy
Kinky Boots is a stunningly flashy Broadway musical that tugs on the heartstrings
with its equally stunning clichГ©s. With its plot originally conceived as a British
film in 2005, the stage production was not produced until 2012 and was based on
the book written by Harvey Fierstein. Furthermore, the show did not find its way to
Broadway until 2013. When it debuted, the show opened to critical acclaim with
Billy Porter and Stark Sands originating the roles of lead characters Lola and
Charlie. Since its Broadway debut, Kinky Boots has been a smashing commercial
success. Over the years, Kinky Boots has swapped out the actors in its cast many
times. However, the original leading actors of the show, Billy Porter and Stark
Sands, have returned once again to play Lola and Charlie in 2017.
Kinky Boots, directed by Jerry Mitchell with music and lyrics by Cyndi Lauper,
follows the story of Charlie Price when he inherits his family s shoe factory from his
father. The factory has fallen on hard times with sales reaching depressing lows and
the factory bleeding cash flow. All seems lost until Charlie has a fateful meeting with
drag performer Lola, who inspires Charlie to reinvent the factory and produce a new
line of high heeled boots in an unlikely partnership. Tensions mount and personalities
clash as their production deadline nears, but in the end the partners realize that they
have more in common than meets the eye.

How Did Hippocrates Advance The Modern Medicine
Today I ll be talking about How Medicine Became Better. Which brings us to our
word of the day, which is medicine. Today my hook is how did Hippocrates advance
the modern medicine? Three ways that Hippocrates changed the modern medicine are
by doing an observation, conducting an experiment, and recording the data.
First I ll talk to you about the the way Hippocrates did an observation on the medicine
he found. In Source 1 paragraph 2 it states that He discussed medical subjects freely
and without an air of mystery, and he was courageous enough to admit his limitations
and his failures. This means that Hippocrates use one of the Steps in the Scientific
Method Make an observation on the a medical subject.

  • 2. What Is Sleep Paralysis SLEEP PARALYSIS RESEARCH PAPER Sleep paralysis has a history that stretches over centuries, with a vast array of people experiencing it. Some believe they have been visited by demons, or aliens in the night and attribute such events to witchcraft or Satanism. There are references to folklore from every nation throughout history. The Nightmare, is a painting by Henry Fuselli that dates to 1781, and depicts a chilling sleep paralysis incidence. In this painting, a malicious spirit sits on a man s chest while the victim lies there limp and unable to fight back. The cultural and spiritual implications of this phenomena is unique amongst neurological ailments. Isolated sleep paralysis (ISP) is the inability to move or talk during the transition between sleep and wakefulness, accompanied by auditory and visual hallucinations that are often extremely hostile. These hallucinations can include a wicked existence in the room, an impression of being touched, or hearing voices in the room. Some people see faces at the bedside. This is typically accompanied by a perceived breathlessness. Patients describe the experience as petrifying. Episodes tend to be more recurrent when sleeping in the supine position. ISP usually happens when ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Some people have entered sleep paralysis directly from lucid dreaming or entered lucid dreaming from a state of sleep paralysis. The indications are that people who are experiencing both patterns are also undergoing a greater dissociative experience in daily life. In lucid dreaming the dreamer is aware that they are dreaming and is therefore able to control the dream. These dreams are characterized by increased insight, and even access to waking memories. This dissociate experience is generally positive and can leave the dreamer feeling blissful. These are directly inverted from the intruder and incubus hallucinations of ISP (Denis Poerio,
  • 3. Ronald Takaki Model Minority Analysis Of all the problems Asian Americans face that Ronald Takaki mentioned, it seems that the Yellow Peril , Bamboo Ceiling , and Model Minority are the major issues. The hysteria of Asians are going to takeover the United States is such arrogance. In addition, the notion that Asian Americans are having the most success in America is completely overblown. Moreover, the misrepresentations that all Asian Americans are not leaders or have poor communication tendencies are wrong. These stereotypes have negatively affected Asian Americans and it still being used today. Ronald Takaki believes that those three major issues Yellow Peril , Bamboo Ceiling , and Model Minority are cause of Asian Americans discrimination. Even though Asian Americans
  • 4. Impact Of John Woolman On African American Abolitionists The Philadelphia Quakers are an extremely religious organization who actively practice what they preach. The one thing the Quakers believed strongly in was equality for all, but they did not always believe owning slaves was a sinful act. Scholars such as Aptheker, Cole, Glickman, Houston, and Newman, all believe that John Woolman was the main and most important Quaker abolitionist that applied his religious views to introduce the idea that slaverywent against Quaker s Christian religion. There are also two other main Quaker abolitionists that fought alongside Woolman, and all three left a significant impact on the Quaker society. Why is Woolman considered the main abolitionist who got people to follow him and change their views on slavery?... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... John Woolman is the first and most important Quaker to start the Abolitionists among the Quaker society. Evidence proves that he was the first Quaker to speak up about the Quaker s religion and owning slaves. He is the one that had the idea that slavery is anti Christian and should end the sinful act. Two other major abolitionists gravitated towards Woolman because they agreed with his beliefs. Another scholarly debate is when Quakers started taking the role as abolitionists. Evidence supports that any of the main events such as the meeting, published writings, and other followers, would be the main start. It only makes sense to start from the beginning at the meeting. When Woolman spoke up about his views, it was the spark that started the domino effect. The published writings and the other followers played a very important role, without those things then the abolition movement might not have had such a huge impacted on society. With all three of these combined, it lead to the Quakers believing that slavery is a corrupt and an immoral act upon the human race that should be

Well, pick one that is healthy and won t harm your body, one that works well and can make you feel better about your self boost your self esteem. Others believe that it s an area of their life that they can t control, they go on a diet so they can focus on something that they can control their exercise and food intake. Some main diets that you might hear are being a vegetarian and paleolithic. There are plenty of others, but there is a diagnosis that is beginning to come around, which is being gluten free. A vegetarian diet consists of only: vegetables, fruits, and dairy products to a certain limit. When going on this diet, it excludes eating all meats. They don t believe in the killing of animals and then eating them. A theory that most people have is they can cook a healthy, meat free that supports weight loss and reduces the risk of heart disease (Vegetarian Diet). Being a vegetarian, you can lose the daily needs of your body, like the protein, but some grocery stores have soy burgers and fake meat so that kind of diet can stay healthy. When purchasing these items, it can be a bit overpriced. When looking for a source of protein, go towards eggs. They are a good way to save money instead of buying pounds of meat. When looking for grains, beans, and rice, being a vegetarian is the way to go (Vegetarian Diet). If you keep eating fruits, veggies, and grains, they will make your body feel full of fewer calories. When considering weight loss, it is likely to lose weight because of the fewer calories and the body mass isn t high enough. • 6. My Favorite Hymn is In Christ Alone My favorite hymn is In Christ Alone. By most standards it is a modern hymn. While many Christian hymns date back to the early church, the two songwriters of In Christ Alone began work in 2000 and completed their work two years later. Although it lacks historical prestige, this hymn s grandeur, strong lyrics and musical melody elevate it to a status often only given the ancient songs. In Christ alone is undoubtedly a very influential hymn to many in my generation. So, because of its personal impact on my life I have chosen to name it my favorite hymn. In the autumn of 2000, songwriter Keith Getty(Irish) and musician Stuart Townend (English) met at a worship event in England. The two soon became good friends and began to write traditional hymns together. Their work includes How Deep the Father s Love, My First Love, and The King of Love. However their most famous hymn by far is In Christ Alone. The hymn s writer Stuart Townend wanted to express the theme of the life, death and resurrection of Christ and His ultimate sufficiency (Townend). Once released, In Christ Alone did just that, gaining immediate popularity among traditional Christian music purists as well as fans of more contemporary Christian music. In 2003, a contemporary Christian group, The Newsboys, released a version of In Christ Alone in their album Adoration: The Worship Album that topped the Christian Music charts in the United States. Christian groups Phillips, Craig, and Dean, and Avalon
  • 7. The For Improving Public Education Essay Guardians, practitioners, and policymakers agree that the key to improving public education in America can only be done by placing highly skilled and efficient teachers in classrooms. However, the nation lacks practical sets standards and assessments that can guarantee that teachers are well prepared to teach. The Professional EducationAssociations began their work in 1987, (Little, Bell, 2009). Their primary goal was to develop standards for teacher competence in assessment of students. The move was a reaction to the increasing concerns that potential educational benefits of student assessments were not being met. Despite its creation, the teacher professional standards are low and measures should be put in place to improve them. Unlike most high achieving nations around the globe, the United States has not created a national system to support teachers. The country also lacks incentives to ensure that all teachers are well prepared and ready to pass on knowledge all students effectively when they enter the profession. There is also a lack of widely available methods to support the evaluation and the ongoing development of teacher effectiveness throughout their career. This goes along with the decision about their entry and continuation in the profession (Braun, 2010). Meeting the expectation that students will learn to high standards call on the transformation in the ways with which the education system attracts, prepares and supports expert teachers who can deliver
  • 8. Narrative Descriptive Narrative Speech I could feel the anger burning inside. This was stressing me out. I could not get it. I had been working on my front walkover for days now. I already had my back walkover. But the front was giving me a rough time. I just had to keep trying though. Maybe if I kept trying I would get it. But as of now I am not sure I will ever get it. I kept working on it, and I kept falling to. Trying to get my front walkover was like when I was trying to get my backflip a few months ago. At first I could not get it and I struggled but I got it in a few days. Except with my front walkover I can not get it. In all the time I have been practicing I have not landed it once. I got ready to try it once more. I put my hands up, and stepped with my foot. I got ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This was because I could not get my front walkover and she knew it. She also knew that I needed help, but I did not want help. I began to realize that I needed her help. A few minutes later the time came. Can you help me? I asked quietly, Why? She replied, because I can land my front walkover, I said angrily. Sure, she replied. This had made me feel a lot happier. Because now I might have a shot at landing it. Hailey began giving me tips on what I could do better. She also told me what I was doing wrong. She had told me lots. She was like a old person with lots of knowledge. I really liked the fact that she was helping me though so I did not care what she seemed like. She said that I need to straighten my legs and arms so I can have balance. I did both of these things and I got closer to landing it. At this point I was feeling much happier than earlier. I was regaining hope. I also felt more confident in myself now that I had help. I felt like I would soon succeed at it. I was getting a lot better. With Haileys help I am to the point where I can almost land it. I was feeling awesome. Especially now that I knew I had a shot at landing it. Step slower. You are stepping to fast that is why you are landing on your knees, she said kindly. Okay, I replied out of breath. I got in my position and got ready to start. This time when I started I had straight arms, straight legs, and straight body. I put my leg out getting ready to start. At this point I
  • 9. The Crucible Theme Analysis The Crucible is a play with an abundance of themes. Each of the characters have a theme that contributes to the overall theme of the story as well. The Crucible shows unjust decisions controlled by manipulated courts and envious girls. The court officials put 200 people through the misery of being accused of practicing acts associated with the devil, and they executed 20. The theme that comes to mind after these actions are brought up is inequity. Abigail accused many people in the town of Salemof actions that they did not do. She made the marriage of John and Elizabeth Proctorunstable by still trying to steal John from Elizabeth even though John was trying to regain the trust of his wife. Another theme that is present is that reputations can be altered easily. Going back to the Abigail and John incident, John s reputation was brought down when the court found out that he cheated on his wife. Another example of how reputations are judged in this play is when John didn t want his name posted on the church door. His name would have been frowned upon since it would have been on the list of people who practiced witchcraft, and he knew people would think less of him (62). Abigail also fed false accusations about well respected people in the town of Salem. Abigail had told the court that Elizabeth Proctor had been practicing the devil s work, and Elizabeth then got taken away even though she hadn t had done anything (37). A good reputation can be easily faltered, and it is a
  • 10. Cost Accounting Essay Introduction Cost accounting is used by most companies whether manufacturing or service to keep track of their daily activities. It is essential in understanding the costs of running any enterprise. In other words they aid in determining the costs of inputs and outputs used in production. It involves analyzing and evaluating different approaches in order to determine the most suitable method that management can use suitably and one that can aid in future planning. Cost accounting is therefore an essential tool in decision making. Decisions made may involve pricing levels, future investment, production levels and coming up with a good competitive strategy. Different industries use different cost accounting method depending on the type of services provided or product manufactured. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Another disadvantage of standard costing is that organizations which use it in most cases usually react to matters instead of finding a proactive approach of mitigating the errors. Inefficient processes are allowed to run and then cost comparison is done between actual and normal cost. Management may then try to eliminate the variances. This method works on the assumption that factors such as technology remain constant which is not logical especially in this dynamic world where prices of commodities keep on changing. This leads to organizations revising their standard costing instead of taking corrective actions. Standard costing cannot be used in companies that produce heterogeneous products since it works only where the components and processes are the same and repeat themselves and this result in production of identical goods and services. Murder And The Mean Street Analysis While American and British authors developed the two distinct schools of detective fiction, known as hard boiled and golden age, simultaneously, the British works served to continue traditions established by earlier author; American works formed their own distinct identity. Though a niche category, detective works reflect the morality and culture of the societies their authors lived in. Written in the time period after World War I, Dashiell Hammett s The Maltese Falcon (1929) and The Gutting of Couffignal (1925), and Raymond Chandlers Trouble Is My Business (1939) adapt their detectives to a new harsh reality of urban life. While Mary Evans claims that Agatha Christie s detectives maintain a respect for the institutional order, ( 76) the detectives of Hammett and Chandler actively reject societal conventions in pursuit of justice. Dennis Porter elaborates on this when he explains how the point of view of the typical private eye is, then, a concentrate of of populist ideology (175). By forming their own moral compasses and acting independently of the police, they are attacking the corruptions of establishment and are more accurately depicting the situation in urban cities. Though Christie s world is distinct from this American one, her famous detectives Miss Marple and Hercule Poirot always apprehend the proper criminal, which does not reflect the imperfections of crime solving in the time period. Christie is not entirely wrong in her interpretation of her characters and their place in society, but she believes that the causation of crime is individual. This same optimism does not fit with Hammett s civic world of the United States [...] that is deeply corrupt (Evans 82). Additionally, the hard boiled detective contributes to a more realistic interpretation of life because even though they represent an ultimate good, they have imperfections. Dashiell Hammett s Sam Spade has no qualms in having an

I consider the opposite, concluding these two lines represent the racial divide between the speaker and the subject of the poem, rather than a union. The woman s hair is braided like a lyncher s rope and the color of her hair, chestnut, describes a type of tree of which the rope might hang if the speaker interacted with the white woman. Similarly, and not mentioned by Lynch, the woman s eyes are then figuratively compared to the burning of a body during a lynching, evident through Toomer s use of fagots, or a bundle of sticks intended to be lit (Toomer 3). The speaker cannot admire even her most mundane features, like hair or eyes, because it reminds him of the racial division between the two. Her features compared to a tree, rope, and fire in that back to back manner further imply the representation of the speaker s feasible gruesome

Using three civilizations as examples, describe the concept of the Axial Age The concept of axial age was introduced into the sphere of philosophical knowledge by German existentialist philosopher Karl Jaspers for characterizing the period of ancient history during about the 8th to the 3rd century BC. In this period of time we have developed a fundamentally new religious beliefs and doctrines that promoted human and cultural values of the era. Jaspers described the Axial Age as an interregnum between two ages of great empire, a pause for liberty, a deep breath bringing the most lucid consciousness. Jaspers argued that during the Axial Age, the spiritual foundations of humanity were laid simultaneously and independently in China, India, Persia, Judea and Greece. And these are the foundations upon which humanity still subsists today. Consider, for example Greece, India and China. The common thought asserted here is that higher speeds create more wear and tear on the roadways. Another factor of speeding is damage inflicted on cars while drivers are driving fast. This side asserts that the faster the car runs, the harder the engine works; the harder the engine, works the more wear the car takes. This may have been true with automobiles made several years ago, but the cars and trucks manufactured today are quality automobiles. The reasoning behind the prison has been one of the controversial issues since 20th century. The following essay considers the practicality of prisons, particularly whether the foremost purpose of the legal system by prisoning the victims is to punish offenders or to preserve the public, to rehabilitate criminals. In particular, this essay will attempt to give a balanced argument both to support and against the imprisonment system. To begin with, Telegraph News has drawn attention to the fact that, with fewer than 15 open prisons in the UK, our system is focused on punishmentrather than rehabilitation. This indicates that, first and foremost reason of prisoning the criminals in United Kingdom is to punish them by evacuating from public for a while. Community sentences and programmes that are outcome focused are the most successful penal intervention at preventing reoffending and have the support of victims. By punishing offenders government reduces the crimerate, since victims will foresee the results of their actions and probably they will feel more embarrassed to repeat their actions. Furthermore, another purpose of imprisonment is to rehabilitate criminals and to correct some of the inadequacies of offenders that may be linked to their criminal behaviour and their continued involvement in the criminal justicesystem. The Power of Cordelia s Nothing Love The Power of Cordelia s Nothing Love Cordelia is Lear s most loyal and loving child and yet she refuses to put on a display of affection and sentimental love before her father s court in order to make her father feel admired. The public display, wholly false, of affected feeling by her sisters Regan and Goneril is enough to ensure that Cordelia will keep quiet in word (which, as her sisters show, can be deceptive) and prove her love through action (which she does throughout the play). As far as words go, she simply tells her father that she loves him according to my bond; no more nor less (1.1). This should be sufficient for Lear because it is a statement of fact: Cordelia recognizes the duty she owes her father and is prepared to act accordingly. The same cannot be said for her sisters who attempt to prove their love through flattery. That Lear allows himself to be flattered by their empty words ill prepares him to receive the meaningful and rich words of the terse Cordelia. Separating a product from the ideological incentive driving the purchasing of the product requires a critical mind that is often difficult to acquire. If a bra is bought solely for its function, why are stores like Victoria s Secret made more available in shopping malls, or raking in high grossing profit margins from sheer popularity? This is because Victoria s Secret, like many other successful business enterprises, sells their brandas a way to conduct oneself. A transformation occurs where Victoria s Secret s underwear is not a product, but a way of life, an attitude, a set of values, a look, an idea. (18). How exactly does the company place an idea behind the bras they sell? For that answer, I turn to Jean Noel Kapferer, an expert on brands and brand managementwho created the Brand Identity Prism . As a management strategy, this prism guides a product from raw material to an ideological principle, eliciting an emotional, targeted response from the consumer. If it so happens there was ampicillin in a petri dish with either the lux or ampicillin resistance gene, the result would depict a colonial growth. This is because the ampicillin and plasmid attack one another hence some die and the others live. On the other hand if there no ampicillin presents the petri dish would depict a lawn growth, because there is no ampicillin there to replicate. It tends to heighten ones perception, hence, perceiving the world through a larger lens. It can cause a deep sense of grief at times but it can also make one feel a certain kind of content. The very exclusive one where the abundance of joy cannot be defined. Valentine by Carol Ann Duffy explores the many sides to love. The entire poem is an extended metaphor that criticizes the stereotypical idea of love. Duffy uses an onion, a very unusual object as a symbol to represent a gift for one s admirer. Duffy inserts direct, straightforward words such as here and take it to catch the reader s attention. These words are ended with a period giving an austere tone. The use of negative words such as blind, tears and grief illustrate an image of sorrow and misery creating an element of danger. Something quite uncommon for a poem entitled valentine . Here Duffy takes the reader to the unpleasant side of love that is often ignored in most love poems. She is conveying the true reality of being in love and not just the fantasized version of it. In the second half of the poem, Duffy chooses to use a more bold set of words such as fierce , possessive , lethal and faithful which contradict the words kiss , stay and lips which is more subtle and distinctive. The repetition of the word cling towards the end of the poem emphasizes that once your love is vanished the scent the memory will still live on, leaving an impression in your life, a permanent tattoo imprinted in your

Often times, new teachers still need time to become better acquainted with teaching in the classroom. On the opposite side, veteran teachers need to know what is current in education that can be implemented in their classroom. Professional development programs like mentorships, professional development plans, and continued development are important programs to have in place for teachers. For these programs to be successful and provide the support and development that a teacher needs, they have to be quality programs. Just as students and children have different ways that they learn, so do teachers and adults. Programs that will provide the development in teachers that is vital for their teaching will take this into consideration. Emily fails to resolve the conflict in the phallic stage because she was unable to identify with the same sex parent. We can only hypothesize that the mother may have abandoned her or died during this time so that there was no same sex parent to identify with. Failure to identify with the mother led to the failure of successfully obtaining the penis, and the failure to understand through psychosexual competition with the mother for the father, that all women do not and cannot possess a penis. Emily then begets a nonnegotiable necessity to have a phallic figure around in her life, and if she can t, a possession of the penis herself. Emily s submissiveness to letting her father control her romantic life can be interpreted as the need to have her father s phallic figure around but when her father died, the phallic figure was castrated from her. The realization of the temporality of this kind of possession may have triggered the need to permanently have control over the possession of the penis in the form of a phallic figure. This may explain the poisoning of Homer, a big, dark, ready man, with a big voice , in the ultimate attempt to obtain the penis and finally, however perversely, resolve the penis envy. • 46. Summary Of Cordelia In William Shakespeare s King Lear Comparing a character to the Christ figure standard has been literary device seen throughout literature s long history. However, are all the characters attached to this epithet worthy of such a comparison? Cordelia from William Shakespeare s King Lear has been one of these characters that have been perceived to emulate many of the Christ figure characteristics. Her unconditional lovefor her father, even in the face of his betrayal, her capacity for forgiving those that had betrayed her, and her ability to sacrifice her personal safety to come to that aid of her father does seem to complete the picture of her emittance into a literary rendition of the Christ figure. However, there are still many more characteristics that Cordelia embodies such as pride, her willingness to promote violence to achieve goals and the fact that her death did not become a catalyst of great change, that completely goes against the Christ standard. Does this mean that we should discount and ignore those qualities in order to ensure her acceptance as a Christ figure? If we start to question the saintliness of Cordelia, how does that alter the reader s perception of King Lear and his supposed redemption through Cordelia s death? Pride has been considered a fatal flaw for most of the literary characters that possess it. Cordelia s pride is tested when her father declares that his three daughters must declare their love and affection for their father in such a public fashion. The young princess does

Analysis Of Sembene Ousmane s God s Bits Of Wood The period of European colonialism in Africa was rife with oppressive, racist, and brutal power systems that acted purely in the interests of the colonizing nations. The people being crushed under these systems engaged in many anti colonial struggles to improve their conditions and gain liberty, however, these efforts were hindered by selfish people, betraying those around them to work with the colonial powers, for personal gain. Sembene Ousmane s novel, God s Bits of Wood, takes place during the period of French colonialism, primarily in the west African country of Senegal, known formally today as the Republic of Senegal, and additionally in what is modern day Mali. Ousmane depicts the lives of railroad workers and their families mainly through the activity in three cities: Bamako, Dakar, and Thies. Bamako is the capital of modern day Mali, Dakar is the largest city in Senegal and also it s capital, and Thies is a large city in Senegal known primarily as a wooded region. Similar to the rest of Africa, the colonial system in Senegal was built on a system of oppression and racism. The most blatant example of this system is in Bamako, where the readers are shown the white governor s residence, and how it compares it to the extremely poor quality houses nearby, where the African people live. The book begins with a description of the city of Bamako, where in the middle of a section of hills, onlookers can see the houses: At the center of the belt of hills the groups

Lots of people say that society has killed the teenager . To me that quote means that society gives us these certain images that we are supposed to strive for. For example, skinny, tall, perfect teeth, no acne, etc. As teens we are at the age of wanting to fit in and be better but society is ruining how we view ourselves and the ways we think. Also another thing is to just be yourself. If you be yourself, the right people will come to you. For example, let s say someone starts to wear makeup because her friends are wearing it, or someone said that she was ugly without it. She ll start to become a person she doesn t want to be. She ll start to become influenced by her friends and the people around her. Then she ll stop wearing it one day and then she ll continue to stop wearing it for a while. She might get hatred, compliments on her natural beauty, or her friends won t even care. See what she did? She stopped pretending to be a character in a movie, and started being herself. All she needed was bravery and determination. As you can see, the themes in Flowers For Algernon and in The Giver relate to the real life we are facing today. If personally myself could say something to kids and teens, I would say to just be yourself and don t change who you are. The right people will come to you if you are brave and

Since its Broadway debut, Kinky Boots has been a smashing commercial success. Over the years, Kinky Boots has swapped out the actors in its cast many times. However, the original leading actors of the show, Billy Porter and Stark Sands, have returned once again to play Lola and Charlie in 2017. Kinky Boots, directed by Jerry Mitchell with music and lyrics by Cyndi Lauper, follows the story of Charlie Price when he inherits his family s shoe factory from his father. The factory has fallen on hard times with sales reaching depressing lows and the factory bleeding cash flow. All seems lost until Charlie has a fateful meeting with drag performer Lola, who inspires Charlie to reinvent the factory and produce a new line of high heeled boots in an unlikely partnership. Today my hook is how did Hippocrates advance the modern medicine? Three ways that Hippocrates changed the modern medicine are by doing an observation, conducting an experiment, and recording the data. First I ll talk to you about the the way Hippocrates did an observation on the medicine he found.
