The Ones That Are Wanted By Corinne Kratz
The Ones That Are Wanted , comes from an expression used by an Okiek elder examining
Corinne Kratz s photographs, to describe his people living in Kenya s western highlands. This
book follows Kratz s travelling exhibition of anthropological photographs produced with the
purpose to dissect the complexities that surround cultural representation. She does so by telling
a vivid story, which is emphasised through her use of photographs, description the Okiek life
history, the reasons for her photographic exhibition from its start in the 1980 s, to its public
release in 1989 at Nairobi s National Museum in Kenya, which went on to be displayed in seven
venues across the United States. The book is divided into two main sections, the first which
examines the replication of her photographic exhibitions and the second which examines the
museum exhibitions as events, objects, and interactive processes (Kratz, C. 2002: pg. 91), with
the penultimate aim to challenge stereotypes which had developed in postcolonial societies of
the Okiek people being primitive . To do this she uses a variety of interesting methods, which
include interviews with visitors, the Okiek s personal perspectives on her photographs, and
numerous articles, papers and books which explore the scope of her exhibitions at each venue to
help achieve her aim. Kratz s book does not simply describe and explain her work with the Okiek,
but rather it becomes an incorporated collection of both analytic and reflective

An Analysis of Emily Dickinson s Poem, Because I Could...
In the poem Because I could not stop for Death by Emily Dickinson refers to death as a
gentlemen who unexpectedly visits Dickinson to take her on a journey towards eternity (I. 24). It
is very ironic that she considers death as a gentleman, but as we all know it is the total opposite.
On the second stanza they both start the slow and peaceful journey. We slowly drove, he knew no
haste (I. 5). We can see the tranquility of the scene in which they are. Dickinson here understands
the seriousness of the situation in which she is, and she forgets about everything.
And I put away my labor and my leisure too, For his civility She describes her struggle in life with
the word labor , the word leisure as her freedom (I.6) and deaths ... Show more content on

Here Dickinson is dressed in a light Gown (I.15) and a cape or in this case a Tippet (I.16) which is
the costume she is wearing for her funeral.
On stanza number five is coming to an end. We paused for a house that seemed a swelling of the
ground (I.18) this emphasizes or describes death s house continued by the Cornice in the ground one
can relate this to her tomb on the ground. With this information one can conclude her death. Emily
Dickinson describes show after her recent death, she feels like she has been dead for centuries,
but actually it Feels shorter than a day (I.22). Already realizing she is dead. The last two lines of
stanza six say I first surmised the horses head (I.23 24), obviously her journey is over, and headed
to eternity.
On An Irish Airman foresees his death by W.B Yeats the themes of the poem is the balancing of
life and death with a hopeless feeling about life or in this case his destiny after the result of war.
On the first two lines, Yeats prepares us for his journey. We can see how his negation of any
natural feeling on line three and four. Those that I fight I do not hate, those that I guard I do not
love . One can understand the situation in which the pilot does not care of the whole situation; he
just wants this war to be over. As one goes over line five and six we can relate that the Irish is
fighting for another country which in this case: the Germans. Even though he does not really care

The Influence Of Irish Music In Nineteenth And Early...
While I lack sources specifically on the Irish in the American music industry and song writing
business of the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, I am able to draw from other works that
highlight relevant threads such as immigration, Irish music, stereotyping, and identity throughout
my thesis. Scholarly writings (historical or otherwise) on the social dynamics found in and around
the Irish influences in popular musicproduced in America around the turn of the twentieth century
come in short supply. William H. Williams seems to be the only scholar to have extensively written
about Irish and Irish American song in the United Statesafter the nineteenth century. Another
honorable mention is due to musician and scholar, Mick Moloney, who studied the Irish presence
on the American stage (vaudeville).

Nietzsche And The Birth Of Tragedy
Austin Tierney Thompson 4970 05 06 2018 Nietzsche and The Birth of Tragedy To argue that
Birth of Tragedy has a central claim; theory is created at the expense of art , is to attempt to
reduce its offerings to an oversimplification of a single thematic component. A central claim is
the result of a complete and settled debate within defined parameters. This is true even if this
settlement; subsequently, proves merely temporary. To be central is to exist at a single point
between the outer parameters of phenomena which must be known or at least defined and agreed
upon. There is no single central claim that could conceivably be presented as a reference point
offering access to anything like a comprehensive insight to all that this work contains. That theory
is created at the expense of art is certainly a discernible assertion made by Nietzsche. That said
there are a myriad of other premises and claims within Birth of Tragedy that cannot simply be...

How then might we progress in arriving at the kernel of this strange and inaccessible book by
this brooding lover of puzzles ? One possible mode of discernment is offered by the author
himself via a comment he makes on another great work on which so many have differing views
and approaches; Hamlet:We find the same thing in Shakespeare, whose Hamlet, for example
likewise speaks more superficially than he acts, so the lesson of Hamlet, which we have already
mentioned, is to be found not in the words themselves but in a profound contemplation and survey
of the play as a whole To gain access to Birth of Tragedy, to define its claims and to locate their
relationship we must not, of course, ignore the actual text but we certainly need to be mindful of
more than that which is simply being said and to be willing to consider and take in to account; the
intent of the author in publishing this work, the discernable premises and meanings inherent in its

Theme Of Romanticism In My Antonia
When Jim Burden initially reaches Nebraska, his descriptions of nature help the reader understand
not only his personal experiences, but also the Romanticism prevalent in the book, My Antonia.
This sets the reader up for the struggle and conflict between Modernism and Romanticism in the
book, which is a major theme that Willa Catherutilizes in her novel. However, there is more to this
Romantic description that meets the eye. On pages 12 and 13, Jim describes looking at the land
while he travels to his grandparents, a passage which evokes beauty and hints towards
philosophical meaning. Through this passage in the first chapter, it becomes clear that Jim s
narration of the nature around him works to highlight the idea that the land is a heaven that is
untouched. Like young Jim, the land is in a blank slate, which intertwines the land and Jim
together. This is furthered through the progression of the land and Jim, as they progress into
godlike beings. Through this progression and balance, the balance between Modernism and
Romanticism is achieved, and the reader better understands the intentions of Cather, thus leading to
a better understanding of the text as a whole. Jim s view of the land, and his word choice in
describing the land, proves that Nebraska is a symbol for heaven. This heavenly state is important,
as it shows that the land is important and highly placed. Jim explicitly states that, unlike his
hometown, Nebraska was not entirely earthly in presence. He says,

Abstract
In the last three decades, pulsed high voltage discharge technology has offered promising
techniques for the treatment of wastewaters released to the environment by industry. A significant
effort has been directed towards understanding the processes that occur during the discharge of
solutions for a variety of reactor configurations. This review presents the disadvantages and
advantages of different reactors based on discharge phase. Detailed information is also provided on
the principals used in each technique and the advantages and disadvantages associated with each
method. Finally, a discussion on the different discharge areas is presented.

Effect Of Temperature On Borax Crystals
The topic is growing Borax crystals at certain temperatures. The scientist s problem is that they are

higher temperatureinside the jar, then bigger crystals will form because the heat speeds up reactions.
To figure out if this is correct, the scientist must get the temperature of each of the conditions they

Terrorism And The World s Leading Issues
Terrorism is an unofficial and unauthorized use of extreme violence, force and intimidation in the
pursuit of political and religious gain. Throughout the 20th century, terrorism is among the world s
leading issues. The reason for its existence can be found from the roots of imperialism and its
injustice. Today its momentum and actions have many violent, devastating and deadly effects
throughout the world. The terrorists that drive this fear are perverse Islamic fundamentalists.
Muslim fundamentalists believe that the Qur an should be interpreted literally and context, namely
the time period and the social climate, cannot determine the texts interpretation and application.
Extremists in this group advocate extreme violence in order to fulfil certain elements of the Qur an.
These extremist groups are numerous, however some are more notable than others. Al Qaeda, the
terrorist group that had its formation in Sudan, before relocating to Afghanistan used the Qur an to
justify the 9/11 attack on the Twin Towers. Similarly, the Taliban
, the terrorist group who have
control over Afghanistan have imposed harsh and crude versions of Sharia Law and twisted the
Qur an to suit their endeavours. Furthermore Isis, a Sunni group that aims to create an Islamic state
in Iraq and Syria, have also extracted Quranic verses to suit their ideals and justify their premature
taking of life. Overall, the misinterpretation of the Qur an and the Hadith has led to the justification
of terrorism,

Even worse, students, who are hungry after hours of class time, are not given the amount of time

School districts would need to figure out the amount of time for students to take care of
businesses and how long it will take them to get their lunches and sit down (ForceChange). A
longer lunch would not only allow students to finish their meals, but it will also allow the lunch
staff to prepare a more fresh and hot meal to all students. Even though the amount of time in
each class would decrease, in order for students to have more energy, become more attentive, and
less tired during class, school districts must allow longer lunch periods. Teachers may have
difficulty covering all of class material; therefore, they would need to plan a more fast but
efficient way to cover material. This would allow their grades, academic learning, and class
participation to increase. To resolve the disapproval of the ban of junk food, schools should sale

Resolving Internal And External Conflicts
Having the skills to resolve internal and external conflicts effectively is one of the biggest
challenges faced by organizations in today s business world. In most cases, to attain success in
conflict issues, mediators are needed. They are vital to success as they act as they act as neutral
parties to analyze a conflict by listening to both parties and coming up with a solution. The
mediator is completely impartial (neutral) person(s) who probably does not know either party,
but will act as a middle man that listens to both sides of the situation from the two and see if
there is any middle ground opportunities for some kind of arrangement, acceptable to both
sides, which will in part or fully help to resolve the situation. By so doing, a mediator functions
as an intermediary. A mediator talks to parties in separate rooms and never allows shouting or
interruption from disputants facing each other. In fact, often there is no need, allowing
disputants to be in the same room at all. The role of the mediator is to shuttle or go between the
parties. However, this paper will describe a work related conflict experience where a mediator
was used to resolve the conflict, define the role of a mediator, explain the types of data a mediator
may choose to gather and analyze when conducting a session to reduce or eliminate the conflict,
assess how the information is utilized in a mediationplan by providing a detailed example of each.

Max Brooks World War Z
World War Z Essay
In the novel, World War Z by Max Brooks, the protagonist interviews several characters that have
confronted the zombie crisis. Throughout the book the experiences and encounters of the
characters are related to international relations. The concepts that are most helpful in understanding
the International Relations of World WarZ include a security dilemma, zero sum game, and
bureaucratic politics model. In this essay I will analyze four different interviews of Bob Archer,
Travis D Ambrosia, Whako, and Ernesto Olguin while evaluating the individual, state, and
international levels of analysis, and argue the realist and liberalist theoretical approach best explain

how he perceived events. In his opening statements, he discusses that he had been a rising political

What Is The Theme Of The Lay Of The Werewolf
In the story, The Lay of the Werewolf , a faithful husband gets dishonored by his wife after the
wife finds out that the husband is half werewolf. The story takes place in Ancient Greek, during
the Medieval Times, where the Greeks wrote that people could be transformed into werewolves.
As Murray states, it states that the poem demonstrates the kinds of friendship and love that exist
among the three protagonists. It mentions that the poem depicts how de France confronts her
readers with a story that raises a moral issue. It adds that many of de France s poems critique the
unchristian and uncharitable marriages. The story really gives off a good example, on how the
people who one think s can trust with one s life, especially in this case, can turn on one for the
money, fame, power, etc. The three themes that are shown in The Lay of the Werewolf are betrayal,

Probability Concepts
Probability Concepts Introduction Probability concepts describe how uncertainty can be
quantified, and it measures the possibility or impossibility of occurrence of a given event.
Probability is the chance of a particular outcome, out of a number of times possible outcomes
occurring for a certain event. These concepts help in making inferences about situations and to
quantify the uncertainty of future events. It is, therefore, useful to review basic concepts and
laws of probability to understand how to manage uncertainty. Probability concepts help to
interpret probabilities from two way pivot tales. They are also useful in understanding
probability, in statistical analysis, and apply the rules of probability in the empirical data.
Probability concepts Probability presents the intellectual machinery to deal with uncertainty in
business or personal life. With the concept of present value and courteous evaluation skills, it
becomes easy to deal with situations. Probabilities are broadly of two types, subjective and
objective probability. Subjective probability of an event is based on an educated guess, pure
intuition or expert opinion. Subjective probability is not based on statistically verified data, and it
is not extensively used in statistical analysis. According to subjective probability or personalistic
concept, the probability of an event is the degree of belief, or the degree of confidence one places
on the occurrence of an event according to the available

On the other hand, The Indians gradually trust, love and respect Dunbar because of his honest and
genuine nature. He falls in love with a white women who was raised by the Sioux after her whole
family was killed by the Pawnee, another Indian tribe. Dunbar marries her, becomes a part of the
tribe and settles down in their village. He lives a happy life with the Indians, but there is always
something in the back of his mind, something that is always bothering him.
Dunbar knows that the arrival of American troops in the frontiers will only be a matter of time.
Soon, he has to make the decision whether he wants to stick to his new friends or go back to his
fellow soldiers and fight against the Indians. When Dunbar rides back to his post to get his
journal, American soldiers are gathered around his post. They see him coming and shoot his
horse. Since Dunbar is wearing a Sioux gown, the troops look at him as a trader and treat him
brutally. When the soldiers are on their way to the next village to have Dunbar hanged, the Sioux
attack, and rescue their friend, Dunbar. Back at the Indian camp, Dunbar and his wife decide to
leave the Sioux. John Dunbar knows that he is a wanted man now.
His decision to leave the Sioux is based on protecting them from more trouble with the American

Colleges and universities were chosen to participate in the study based on connections and
recommendations from experts working with athletes in higher education as well as through,

contacts provided the survey to student athletes using existing listservs. This approach gave
students the option to opt out of the survey. The rate of return for the survey was 18.32% which

(Lynch, 2016). This can be the effect of discrimination in the school system as young black
males are already viewed as trouble makers. This alone can also create violence in black males
because they recognize the unfair treatment which leads to resentment and anger. This soon
manifests into even bigger problems within the self. Exposure to aggressive experiences, in
school and outside school, can profoundly affect mental health, including adjustment at school,
(Basch, 2011). Also found in this article, a recent study showed more than 42,000 11 17 year old
s that were affected by school violence were associated with having experienced internalizing
behaviors such as depression, anxiety, sadness and more. Depression, anxiety, sadness are all
ways for a child to cause aggression behavior because that s the only way they know to express
themselves. This all stems back to the environment in which these young African American males
are subjected to (Farrell et al, 2010) as well as their place in society and how they are viewed. If
all they see and experience is negativity in their communities, homes and schools, it is what

Arthur Dimmesdale In Scarlet Letter
Without putting the argument into the paradigm, here are some declarations about the guilt of
Arthur Dimmesdale in Nathaniel Hawthorne s The Scarlet Letter that can be placed appropriately:
As the minister of the community, the Reverend Arthur Dimmesdale is held to certain moral
standards, and is expected to be the moral measure for his congregation. As this moral measure,
Dimmesdale should ensure that his personal conduct is above reproach, subjugatind his physical
passions, urges, etc. to the moral code to which he is obligated After he has committed his act of
passion, Dimmesdale should have the moral integrity to step forward when Hester Prynne is on the

Magnet Therapy Magnotherapy
This article is about a 9 month old baby wearing a homeopathic magnetic hematite healing
bracelet, which causes the baby to suffer from lead poisoning. It is a handmade bracelet sold at a
local fair, and the parents of that baby bought it and placed it occasionally on him/her. The
practitioners of magnet therapy or Magnotherapy assumed that wearing a magnet could expand
bloodstream to individual s fundamental tissues and restore people bodies. Moreover, the
practitioners of magnet therapy are lack of knowledge, and the baby parent is careless. As a result,
the baby now is at higher risk of losing his/her life. The baby parents should have researched on

Rhetorical Analysis Of Toyota
Being in a spiralling economy, the automobile industry must step up their games to produce
attractive advertisements. Creativity is crucial to attract potential buyers and gain more sales. To
target specific prospects through ads, the automobile industry usually apply rhetoric concepts to
enhance their product s appeal in every way, and not just purely on the automobiledesigns. As men
are the main target audience, car ads are usually being advertised as appealing and dangerous.
Nevertheless, there are other important aspects to be highlighted as well, which can be perfectly
marketed with certain rhetoricaspects. Although automobile ads always target the male audience,
the industry also understands how partners or family can influence in purchase... Show more content

Toyota reminds the audience to always pay close attention to their surroundings and the system
effectiveness is dependent on many factors, which shows that it has its limitations. From this
perspective, some may argue on how it is quiet contradict to their effort to show the
effectiveness of the brake in unexpected situation, as the reliability has its limitations.
Therefore, it can be said that Toyota cars can be used by everyone and everywhere, however, the
attitude of the driver is still very important. Looking at how the commercial emphasize on the
calmness and the family being the passengers, for instance, the mother looking back to check out
on the son after the near death experience or the pre collision, Toyota is trying to show how
important it is to take safety measure seriously as the driver is responsible over the life of others
passengers. The emotional aspect from this scenario might not be magnified into a tensely or
panicking mode, yet subtly leaves an impact to the audience to always care about other people in
the car and the external surrounding. Toyota is proving that their vehicle is safe for family use,
and while they will keep manufacturing better designs and systems for their users, the driving
attitude is important too. The ad does not show reckless driving of any sort, to prove that even
when we drive at a slow pace, accidents can still happen and can be caused by external factors.
Therefore, with a good driving attitude and Toyota vehicles, the risk can be

Software Development And Its Development
As we saw throughout the last forty or so years is that computer systems frequently evolve and that
developmental change is inevitable and software development is no stranger to this, which is where
agile development or the term that some use agile software development comes into play. This is a
concept that searches for alternatives to the traditional way of managing a project and based on the
foundation that change is essential to software development. Throughout this paper, we will look at
the reasons that brought about the change in thinking with regard to software development, discuss
some of the key principles of agile development, methods under agile development and the benefits
of the use of agile development. Let s begin this document with a discussion into what brought
about the change in thinking.
The biggest reason for the change in methodology in software development is due to the failures
realized through the use of traditional sequential development. With these failures an assembly of
individuals developed a declaration of policy that included the following ideologies: Individuals and
interactions over processes and tools, working software over comprehensive documentation,
customer collaboration over contract negotiation and finally responding to change. ( Manifesto for
agile software development, n.d.). Let s continue on with this document and examine at some of the
principles with regard to the concept of agile development.

Contractuality As A Means Of Conformity Analysis
reveal that we are more likely to conform when we are made to feel incompetent or insecure, are
in a group with at least three people, are in a group in which everyone else agrees, admire the
group status and so on (Myers DeWall, 2014). In essence, it means that in order to break from the
accepted norm, it would mean to slow things down for others. If you find yourself walking down
a crowded street and suddenly everyone drops down, almost certainly your first impulse is to drop
down along with them although with a delayed response. The cost for a person to drop down with
the crowd unexpectedly certainly outweighs the potential danger that is implied. There are many
ways an individual can find themselves in a situation to conform. To conform... Show more content

Muzafer Sherif saw this as a situation in which an individual can be influenced by suggestion. To
ready his experiment, he first placed participants individually inside a dark room and had them
approximate the distance the light traveled. Consistently these participants, individually, came up
with the approximation of 2 6 inches (Dewy, 2007). When the next round of the experiment came,
Sherif placed participants with others effectively creating a group. As the participants reanalyzed
the light, their perception eventually became aligned with the others in the room to more of an
average of 4 inches (Dewy, 2007). For the final installment, the participants were again individually
placed into a room by themselves and asked to reanalyze the light. The participants who were
previously exposed to the group setting and had a fixed notion that the light was moving 2 inches
now concluded that the light moved 4 inches (Dewy, 2007). The participants had conformed to the
group norms instead of what they really though. The participants desire to conform was strong that
they increased their conformities to fit into the group.
Conclusion
Cognitive dissonance is when we try to limit and reduce our feeling of discomfort when two
opposing thoughts clash (Myers DeWall, 2014). This often involves human individuality and
conformity.

Flat Belly Diet Essay
The main focus of the Flat Belly Diet is weight loss, which results in the loss of around 10 20
pounds in a month of dieting. The Flat Belly Diet incorporates food which contain
monounsaturated fatty acids (MUFAs), as they can target and destroy belly fat while keeping
you full to prevent overeating. Most foods that contain MUFAs are plant based which include,
nuts, seeds, chocolate, avocados, olive oil, and more. However MUFAs are to be taken precisely
in every meal and snack unlike its friend the saturated fats, which can harden and cause clogging
in the arteries, while MUFAs keep your blood vessels nice and soft after they are digested. The

Sacrifice Praise for Self Success From a young age, children are told to by their parents to Be
yourself in all circumstances. They are told that if they stay true to themselves, then they will have
true friends, they will be content, and they will be successful. This lesson is taught much, but
seldom followed. Most people have the desire to follow their own path, but the motivation is
lacking to sacrifice what is expected and therefore, many conform. The texts The Jackhammer
Syndrome and The Orchid Thief address this idea, introducing the conflict that there is between
conformity and personal fulfillment, suggesting that, to follow one s own desires is the difficult
path, but it is the path that leads to true prosperity. For someone to pursue their desires requires
them to sacrifice self consciousness of what other people think of the way they re living their life.
Living life in order to please others is an extreme waste of potential. In, The Orchid Thief, John
Laroche sacrificed his chance to become a surgeon in order to live a more simple life and pursue
his countless passions. Laroche was given the nicknames Troublemaker and Crazy White Man ,
and was often referred to as eccentric. Although often labelled in a negative way,

Religion And Religion In Ron Howard s Angels And Demons
Emphasising the position of the Catholic Church as well as science and development, Ron Howard
s Angels Demons illustrates the universal components alongside the intrinsic struggle in a modern
society from a unique perspective. Centered around the Harvard symbologist, Professor Robert
Langdon, alongside C.E.R.N physicist, Vittoria Vetra, the plot reestablishes the legend of Illuminati
through showcasing the latter s struggle with the Catholic Church. While Langdon protects the
church from an outside threat of explosion and an inside threat of the Camerlengo, the audience is
enchanted by not only the plot twists but also the featured art and architecture. Representing the
cults and societies presented in the movie, the art plays a significant part in the overall plot
alongside the multiple themes illustrated in the story. Explicating effective instances of social
changes and functions, Ron Howard s 2009 film Angels Demons evidently presents a commentary
on the struggles between religion and science from a symbolic interaction perspective. Exhibiting
an ancient conflict under a contemporary light, the movie Angels Demons highlights the
characteristics of modern society in regards to its antique counterpart. Presenting countless
instances of alterations in society in terms of not only behavioural patterns but also cultural values,
the movie elaborates on the social statics as well as social dynamics. Defined by Auguste Comte,

Running Machines For A Machine Shop
If you ve worked in a machine shop at all in the last 30 years, you know that anytime a machine
is set up, the operator is faced with an immeasurable number of choices. Everything about
running machines is about choosing from the many ways of doing it. There is definitely more
than one way to skin a cat when working in a machine shop. For example, think about one of the
most simple machine tools, the tried and true Bridgeport knee mill. We have all used one,
maybe for 5 minutes to clean an edge or for multiple days building intricate parts. Either way,
you may not have noticed all the choices you had when setting up and running the machine. Just
to clean up that edge there were decisions whether to use a vise or a clamp set. Or whether to use
a power feed or not. Often you subconsciously decide what axis you will be cutting with, what
sort of tool holder to use, and many other physical factors. One of the hardest decisions to make
in all of this is what type of cutter to use. It seems simple, many operators just grab an end mill;
but to achieve a good quality cut and desired end mill life, there is much more to it. To find out
just how many choices there are, a quick search for ВЅ square end mills at MSC brings up over
1500 choices. That s a lot of choices! So what do most of us do? Well we grab one that looks like
something that we have used before. But as we all very well know, doing things the way we ve

Examples Of Solitude In Frankenstein
There are seven billion people on this earth and yet there is still a possibility of being isolated.
The theme of solitude is something everyone has experienced once in their life. Some people
however choose to be alone and others do not have a choice. Solitude can either be a good or bad
experience depending on how long it lasts. A certain amount of people think they can live their
whole life alone where on the other hand there are misfits from society who have no choice then to
be alone. In the novel Frankenstein, Victor, the creature, and Walton all have experienced some
form of solitude.
In the beginning of the novel, Victor is alone creating the creature and he ends up being too

Creationism And Evolutionism
Creationism and Evolutionism Explaining Life
Imagining the whole world, it seems to be a sheet made of small pieces of different tissues. The
countless diversity of species existing in the world makes everyone think about how all species
appeared. So, some scholars became interested to explain how the species originated, and then they
began a diligent study around this topic. Consequently, some theories such as Creationism and
Evolutionism have arisen and started a big debate to highlight their ideas. Each theory has its own
beliefs, but separating them seems not to be the best way to get a full and coherent final
explanation to how species were originated. The gap between Creationism and Evolutionism lies in
the fact that one defends ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Despite the fact that most scientists look at Creationism as an unscientific theory, creationists take
their ideas seriously and have some strong sources of argumentation to support their assumptions.
Creationists support their ideas arguing that the living beings are so complex that they must have
been created by a higher being. Furthermore, the lack of clarity and failures found in others theories
are what most support Creationism. For example, some variations within a specie which are used as
an argument to prove evolutionists theories are sometimes also used by creationists as an argument
to contradict Evolutionism. According to creationists, variation in individuals characteristics within
a specie is possible and called microevolution, but these variations are never big enough to originate
another specie. What has never been scientifically demonstrated in spite of many examples of
wishful thinking is macro evolution, or the change from one distinct species to another. Dogs have
never evolved into birds or human beings. ( Microevolution... ) Even though Creationism have
general ideas, there are still subdivisions in this theory. Young Earth Creationism interprets the
Bible (Genesis) literally. This theory defends that the Earth and everything in it, including all
species, were created by

The Between Nazis And The German Jews
Whether it is turning off one s alarm and getting off of one s bed, making breakfast, taking the
bus to school, tying one s shoes, or sitting down in the same room for the same class at the same
time, all of these are examples of rituals in day to day life. Different people have different
interpretations of what the word ritualexactly means. A particular film, the likes of The Boy in the
Striped Pajamas conveys many of these meanings; analyzing the characters in this story, more
specifically the contrast between the Nazis and the German Jews, their personality can be
sufficiently explained via Malory Nye s theory regarding symbolism in ritual, Emile Durkheim s
idea of ritual as being a society based action, Harvey Whitehouse s thought about the relationship
between ritual and memory, and Nye s perception of ritual as being a means of attaining power.
Pulling these theories together, the message in this film becomes, as commonly stated: what
comes around goes around, and as such, regardless of another person s belief, one should not
discriminate against that person based on their beliefs and values. Throughout the film, it is the
Jewish Germans who are dressed with the striped pyjamas in the movie of discussion. And with
deliberate reason. As such, it is not surprising that Nye has developed a theory of ritual which he
labels as being a symbolist approach to religionand ritual . Delving deeper, what Nye tries to argue
is that the importance and significance of

The Dreams Of Dreams And Dreams
Prologue
Everyone has dreams; it s a known fact. Their dreams are goals in their lives; goals that people
would really like to achieve.
For example: little girls dream about being princesses and fairy tales. Little boys dream about being
knights and rocket ships. Men and women dream about money, and the things they can buy with
them, like homes and cars.
For me, my dream is different. It may have been possible a few years ago. In fact: that s what life
was like, but that was before all of this happened, and the world changed for the worse.
Oh, well. There s no use in dwelling in the past. What s done is done, and the human race can t take
it back. Not just yet, and not without a fight, anyway.
Even though it is big, my dream is not just for me, it s for my friends, and the people living in the
building, even though they don t realize it.
Of course, that was a few years ago, before the average I.Q. went down, and people were relying on
our captors to help us.
My dream is the thought of escape, and freedom. Freedom from this building and freedom from
the rulers who control everyone inside of it is my goal. It may be tough, and it might be hard to
do, but it s possible that my dream will come true.
After all, anything s been possible since I ve got a plan...

Literary Analysis Of Rene Magritte s The Son Of Man
Part of human nature is to find faces in images whether they are supposed to be there or not. So,
Rene Magritte purposely made the face unseeable behind the apple. In his painting, there is
more than what meets the eye. The way in which he executed the piece is simple yet it still
makes those who see the art wonder what it represents. As like any artwork, successes and
failures can be found in Magritte s art and how well it portrays the meaning behind the piece.
The Son of Man when examined closer, can be more interesting than one might think.
Representation lies in every form of art. There is the literal representation, and there is the
abstract figurative way of viewing. Simply, the painting shows a man with an apple in front of
his face and a storm taking place behind him. Many think the fruit is referencing the tale of
William Tell in which he shot an apple off his son s head. Since in Magritte s painting the fruit is
floating in front of him, this alludes to him about to be shot in the face. Others quickly think
religion inspired the work. The Son of Man sounds eerily close to Son of Man, which is Jesus
title. Also, the green fruit could be from the famous tale of the Garden of Eden where Eve took a
bite from an apple and committed the first sin. Neither of these are wrong, but Rene Magritte
states, Well so you have the apparent face, the apple, hiding the visible but hidden, the face of a
person... There is an interest in that which is hidden and which the visible

Gender Pay Gap
Gender Pay Gap The economic issue with the gender pay gap has been a concern for quite some
time. Many people say that men are paid more money, or have higher salaries than women;
however, there are also people who believe otherwise. Some argue that maternity leave or
education level is a reason why women seem to be paid less than men, and others argue that there
is a bigger issue such as race and age. The following information will address both viewpoints on
the genderpay gap and its issues within the economy, as well as history of women in the workforce.
History In Colonial America, women stayed at home and took care of the household, took care of
the children, made clothes, and made sure that there was food on the table while the men were at
war. During this time, a group was formed called The Daughters of Liberty. These women were
successful in proving that women can be beneficial to the new country in terms of politics and
working. They also wanted to steer away from the British lifestyle while men wanted to keep their
traditions. They refused to buy clothes, tea, or any other items that came from England, no matter
what it was. They formed spinning societies to make their own clothing, as well as clothing for
their male family members. This made America less dependent on British textiles, (Answers.)

The Use Of Group Work And Family Group Conferencing As...
Task 1 Analyse the use of Group work/family group conferencing as methods of intervention.
Group Work This work will focus on the meaning, the five stages of Tuckman s theory, the
approaches and the uses of group work. Group work refers to a method of social work practice
which is concerned with the recognition and use of processes which occur when three or more
people work together towards a common purpose (Trevithick, 2005). According to Garvin,
Gutierrez and Galinsky (2004), the properties that can be use to describe and change group on
which the influence may have an impact include group characteristics, competencies, conditions,
change and context. A group should be small between five to nine persons, so that each one will
be able to relate and engage every member in the group. The group is viewed as a system, the
condition of any member affects the other (Fatout, 1992). The five stage Tuckman s theory (1965)
namely forming, storming, norming, performing and adjourning focuses on the way in which a
group handles a task from the beginning to completion. The main group work approaches are
cognitive behaviourist, feminist, psychoanalytic and humanistic approaches. Knowledge of theory
enhances effectiveness of group work. Since much of our time is spend in groups, it is helpful to
work in groups because it will give an opportunity to improve their human functioning. Group work
helps to develop individual skills in communication, relationship building and asserting oneself

Count Camillo Benso Di Cavour
Count Camillo Benso di Cavour was a man born into Italian politics during a time where the
divided peninsula was in constant turmoil which was largely due to the many shifts in power
throughout the many territories of Italy. Descending from a noble family and having both
marquis for a father and a mother who was the lady in waiting to the princess at the time (who
was the first Napoleon s sister), Cavour had the chance early on to observe politics (Botta, pg. 6).
What he largely had the chance to see was the great divisions that plagued the governments of Italy
as it fell from France control. While he was attending the Military Academy of Turin, he found
himself hired as the page to Charles Albert, the heir at the time to the throne of Sardinia (Botta,
pg. 7). Eventually dismissed by Albert and allowed to return to his studies at the Academy, Cavour
soon had the opportunity to tour the country through his rapid progression through the ranks. After
his service, Cavour sought to delve deeper into the politics all around him. In addition to studying
political science and political economics, he had the opportunity to watch the political changes of
England and France (the French Revolution). He is quoted as having said to an English friend in
one of his numerous letter that While all of Europe is walking with a firm step in the path of
progress, unhappy Italy is always borne down under the same system of civil and religious tyranny.
(Botta, pg. 9). He elaborates later that

Defining Characteristic Of Berlin Dada ; A Vital Interwar...
Photomontage is a defining characteristic of Berlin Dada; a vital interwar period movement, which
primarily took place between 1915 and 1924. Although photomontage is associated with the
interwar period, it undoubtedly had a monumental influence on the fine arts well after it s initial
collective disbanded, which included figures such as John Heartfield, Hannah Hoch, George Grosz,
Kurt Schwitters, and Raoul Hausmann. In fact, even celebrated post war and contemporary artists,
such as David Hockney, Jerry Uelsmann, and Robert Rauschenberg, continued to express
themselves through this specific medium of cut and paste photography and print clippings. That
being said, as early as the late 1920s, as is true for many emerging forms of expression... Show

Hausmann s essay has since been published in many important publications, mostly notably the
Weimar Republic Sourcebook, p. 651 653; an English language text which compiles the, arguably,
most important essays of Weimar era Germany. Other publications include Photography of the
Modern Era, p. 178 180, where it was first translated into English by Joel Agee, and Dadas on Art:
Tzara, Arp, Duchamp, and Others. In his succinct argument, Raoul discusses the potential longevity
of photomontage as an important medium for not only its initial political and propagandistic
purposes but also as having future use case in psychology, sociology, and even optics. Not only is
this argument sparked by the opinion, (although these opinionated critics are never directly named),
that photomontage did not have future potential but, importantly, that it had also become too
commercial for the avant garde. Photomontage had begun to gain primary popularity in advertising,
used for popular film and even fashion. This widespread use in advertising simplified the respected
method and initial motivations for the medium, supposedly diluting critical high art appreciation.
Hausmann also touches upon the new critical obsession with the New Objectivity movement in
Germany. Is there room for new movements to exist parallel to former expressions, allowing them
to both advance or is the latter doomed to only exist as an illustration of a particular historical lens?

anywhere and making sure the crops were well enough to sell in the markets. The time of Westward
Expansion and the genocide of Native Americans. Eleazar Wheelock, a Puritan minister from
Columbia, CT was the one who founded Dartmouth. He initially established the school to train
Native Americans as Christian missionaries. His inspiration for the school first came about due to
his relationship with a Mohegan Indian Samson Occom. The name of the school was to be Moor s
Indian Charity School and was officially established in 1755. It was somewhat successful, but they
still needed more funding in order to maintain the schools operations. Wheelock and Occom
decided to go to England in 1766 to raise money for the school. Once they raised enough, they
made a trust to help the school. The Charity School finally had enough financial support to keep
going. But Wheelock had trouble recruiting Native Americans to attend the institution due to the
location being far away from the tribal territories. He decided to relocate the school to Hanover, in
the Province of New Hampshire. Following the relocation, it was difficult to find resources and
secure a charter. Luckily, the Royal Governor of New Hampshire, John Wentworth, provided the

Seven Basic Face Shape
Choosing glasses that suit the shape of your face is important for both comfort and aesthetics.
There are seven basic face shapes to consider when it comes to eyeglasses, and taking the time to
determine which shape your face is will help you pick the right pair of glasses for you.
The seven different face shapes are oval, diamond, square, round, triangle, inverted triangle and
oblong. To start your calculation, have a basic, passport style photo of yourself taken by a friend
or family member and draw six dots on the picture. Draw two dots on each side of your forehead,
two dots on your cheekbones near your eyes and two dots on your jaw line at the level of your
mouth.
Next, check the dots to figure out your face shape and help figure out which eyeglasses to
choose. For an oval shape, the dots will be farthest apart on your cheekbones and equally spaced
on your jaw and forehead, making it longer that it is wide. The diamond shape resembles an
oval, but the jaw and forehead dots will be closer together. The dots are farthest apart on the
cheekbones of a round face, with the forehead and jaw closer together so the width and height of
the face are about the same. For a square face, all three pairs of dots are ... Show more content on

The goal in choosing glasses to match the shape of your face is balance. Try not to accentuate
the parts that are already accentuated, and try not to hide the parts that may not be as noticeable
naturally. Someone with a square face shouldn t look for boxy looking frames that will make his
face look even more square, and someone with a diamond shape should try to draw attention
away from her wider cheekbones. Ask for advice from the salesperson you are working with, and
make your own calculations, so you end up with a pair of glasses that balance out all elements of
your face, are comfortable to wear and look

Short Story Chapter 2
There was a noticeable shift in temperature as the sun began its slow descent toward the horizon,
the impending dusk transforming the western sky from faded blue to an artist s palette of muted
pink and orange tones. Across from the aquatic center, Tom and Dennis loitered at a bus stop, their
teenage attire helping them to blend into the urban environment. However, despite his outwardly
composed appearance, Tom was anything but calm. His eyes scanned the street, searching for any
sign of their suspect. Tyrell Carson was an unknown quantity, and therefore, he needed to stay alert
and not become too complacent. While Booker had voiced a certain amount of skepticism, Tom
knew all too well the dangers of dealing with teenage felons, and he... Show more content on

But first, they needed to infiltrate the gang, and to do so, they needed to play it cool or risk
detection.
Hey, fellas, Tyrell greeted. I wasn t sure you d show. Nice of you not to keep me waiting.
Tom stepped forward, the right corner of his upper lip curling into a sneer. Yeah? Well, when we re
talking about money, we re always punctual. Right, Brady?
Right, Booker confirmed, his tough guy mask showing little emotion. He was happy to let Tom take
the lead, especially if it helped bolster his confidence. He trusted the young officer s abilities, and
there was no point in them both fighting for the dominant role.
Tyrell nodded at the two teens by his side. This is Seth and Joel, he introduced. They re friends of
mine.
Don t care, Tom replied in a bored voice. Let s get down to business.
A wide grin spread across Tyrell s face. So far, McQuaid and Brady were living up to their
reputations, and he mentally started to visualize all the cool things he could buy with the extra
money he would make after recruiting the two misfits. But first they had to pass the test, and with
a twitch of his head, he turned and walked toward the back of the building. Follow me.
Tom and Dennis trailed behind the teen, their muscles tensed in readiness. Seth and Joel brought up
the rear, their heads bowed together in deep conversation. Their voices

  • 2. The Ones That Are Wanted By Corinne Kratz The Ones That Are Wanted , comes from an expression used by an Okiek elder examining Corinne Kratz s photographs, to describe his people living in Kenya s western highlands. This book follows Kratz s travelling exhibition of anthropological photographs produced with the purpose to dissect the complexities that surround cultural representation. She does so by telling a vivid story, which is emphasised through her use of photographs, description the Okiek life history, the reasons for her photographic exhibition from its start in the 1980 s, to its public release in 1989 at Nairobi s National Museum in Kenya, which went on to be displayed in seven venues across the United States. The book is divided into two main sections, the first which examines the replication of her photographic exhibitions and the second which examines the museum exhibitions as events, objects, and interactive processes (Kratz, C. 2002: pg. 91), with the penultimate aim to challenge stereotypes which had developed in postcolonial societies of the Okiek people being primitive . To do this she uses a variety of interesting methods, which include interviews with visitors, the Okiek s personal perspectives on her photographs, and numerous articles, papers and books which explore the scope of her exhibitions at each venue to help achieve her aim. Kratz s book does not simply describe and explain her work with the Okiek, but rather it becomes an incorporated collection of both analytic and reflective ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

While I lack sources specifically on the Irish in the American music industry and song writing business of the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, I am able to draw from other works that highlight relevant threads such as immigration, Irish music, stereotyping, and identity throughout my thesis. Scholarly writings (historical or otherwise) on the social dynamics found in and around the Irish influences in popular musicproduced in America around the turn of the twentieth century come in short supply. Nietzsche And The Birth Of Tragedy Austin Tierney Thompson 4970 05 06 2018 Nietzsche and The Birth of Tragedy To argue that Birth of Tragedy has a central claim; theory is created at the expense of art , is to attempt to reduce its offerings to an oversimplification of a single thematic component. A central claim is the result of a complete and settled debate within defined parameters. This is true even if this settlement; subsequently, proves merely temporary. To be central is to exist at a single point between the outer parameters of phenomena which must be known or at least defined and agreed upon. There is no single central claim that could conceivably be presented as a reference point offering access to anything like a comprehensive insight to all that this work contains. • 8. Theme Of Romanticism In My Antonia When Jim Burden initially reaches Nebraska, his descriptions of nature help the reader understand not only his personal experiences, but also the Romanticism prevalent in the book, My Antonia. This sets the reader up for the struggle and conflict between Modernism and Romanticism in the book, which is a major theme that Willa Catherutilizes in her novel. However, there is more to this Romantic description that meets the eye. On pages 12 and 13, Jim describes looking at the land while he travels to his grandparents, a passage which evokes beauty and hints towards philosophical meaning. Through this passage in the first chapter, it becomes clear that Jim s narration of the nature around him works to highlight the idea that the land is a heaven that is untouched. Like young Jim, the land is in a blank slate, which intertwines the land and Jim together. This is furthered through the progression of the land and Jim, as they progress into godlike beings. Through this progression and balance, the balance between Modernism and Romanticism is achieved, and the reader better understands the intentions of Cather, thus leading to a better understanding of the text as a whole. Jim s view of the land, and his word choice in describing the land, proves that Nebraska is a symbol for heaven. This heavenly state is important, as it shows that the land is important and highly placed. Jim explicitly states that, unlike his hometown, Nebraska was not entirely earthly in presence. In most cases, to attain success in conflict issues, mediators are needed. They are vital to success as they act as they act as neutral parties to analyze a conflict by listening to both parties and coming up with a solution. The mediator is completely impartial (neutral) person(s) who probably does not know either party, but will act as a middle man that listens to both sides of the situation from the two and see if there is any middle ground opportunities for some kind of arrangement, acceptable to both sides, which will in part or fully help to resolve the situation. Probability Concepts Probability Concepts Introduction Probability concepts describe how uncertainty can be quantified, and it measures the possibility or impossibility of occurrence of a given event. Probability is the chance of a particular outcome, out of a number of times possible outcomes occurring for a certain event. These concepts help in making inferences about situations and to quantify the uncertainty of future events. It is, therefore, useful to review basic concepts and laws of probability to understand how to manage uncertainty. Probability concepts help to interpret probabilities from two way pivot tales. They are also useful in understanding probability, in statistical analysis, and apply the rules of probability in the empirical data. Probability concepts Probability presents the intellectual machinery to deal with uncertainty in business or personal life. With the concept of present value and courteous evaluation skills, it becomes easy to deal with situations. Probabilities are broadly of two types, subjective and objective probability. Subjective probability of an event is based on an educated guess, pure intuition or expert opinion. Subjective probability is not based on statistically verified data, and it is not extensively used in statistical analysis. • 27. Contractuality As A Means Of Conformity Analysis reveal that we are more likely to conform when we are made to feel incompetent or insecure, are in a group with at least three people, are in a group in which everyone else agrees, admire the group status and so on (Myers DeWall, 2014). In essence, it means that in order to break from the accepted norm, it would mean to slow things down for others. If you find yourself walking down a crowded street and suddenly everyone drops down, almost certainly your first impulse is to drop down along with them although with a delayed response. The cost for a person to drop down with the crowd unexpectedly certainly outweighs the potential danger that is implied. There are many ways an individual can find themselves in a situation to conform. To conform... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... To ready his experiment, he first placed participants individually inside a dark room and had them approximate the distance the light traveled. Consistently these participants, individually, came up with the approximation of 2 6 inches (Dewy, 2007). When the next round of the experiment came, Sherif placed participants with others effectively creating a group. As the participants reanalyzed the light, their perception eventually became aligned with the others in the room to more of an average of 4 inches (Dewy, 2007). For the final installment, the participants were again individually placed into a room by themselves and asked to reanalyze the light. The participants who were previously exposed to the group setting and had a fixed notion that the light was moving 2 inches now concluded that the light moved 4 inches (Dewy, 2007). The participants had conformed to the group norms instead of what they really though. The participants desire to conform was strong that they increased their conformities to fit into the group. Support your idea(s) with reference to one or more of the texts presented and to your previous knowledge and/or experience. Sacrifice Praise for Self Success From a young age, children are told to by their parents to Be yourself in all circumstances. They are told that if they stay true to themselves, then they will have true friends, they will be content, and they will be successful. This lesson is taught much, but seldom followed. Most people have the desire to follow their own path, but the motivation is lacking to sacrifice what is expected and therefore, many conform. The texts The Jackhammer Syndrome and The Orchid Thief address this idea, introducing the conflict that there is between conformity and personal fulfillment, suggesting that, to follow one s own desires is the difficult path, but it is the path that leads to true prosperity. For someone to pursue their desires requires them to sacrifice self consciousness of what other people think of the way they re living their life. Living life in order to please others is an extreme waste of potential. Everything about running machines is about choosing from the many ways of doing it. There is definitely more than one way to skin a cat when working in a machine shop. For example, think about one of the most simple machine tools, the tried and true Bridgeport knee mill. We have all used one, maybe for 5 minutes to clean an edge or for multiple days building intricate parts. Either way, you may not have noticed all the choices you had when setting up and running the machine. Just to clean up that edge there were decisions whether to use a vise or a clamp set. Or whether to use a power feed or not. Often you subconsciously decide what axis you will be cutting with, what sort of tool holder to use, and many other physical factors. One of the hardest decisions to make in all of this is what type of cutter to use. It seems simple, many operators just grab an end mill; but to achieve a good quality cut and desired end mill life, there is much more to it. To find out just how many choices there are, a quick search for ВЅ square end mills at MSC brings up over 1500 choices. That s a lot of choices! So what do most of us do? Furthermore, the lack of clarity and failures found in others theories are what most support Creationism. For example, some variations within a specie which are used as an argument to prove evolutionists theories are sometimes also used by creationists as an argument to contradict Evolutionism. Different people have different interpretations of what the word ritualexactly means. A particular film, the likes of The Boy in the Striped Pajamas conveys many of these meanings; analyzing the characters in this story, more specifically the contrast between the Nazis and the German Jews, their personality can be sufficiently explained via Malory Nye s theory regarding symbolism in ritual, Emile Durkheim s idea of ritual as being a society based action, Harvey Whitehouse s thought about the relationship between ritual and memory, and Nye s perception of ritual as being a means of attaining power. Pulling these theories together, the message in this film becomes, as commonly stated: what comes around goes around, and as such, regardless of another person s belief, one should not discriminate against that person based on their beliefs and values. Throughout the film, it is the Jewish Germans who are dressed with the striped pyjamas in the movie of discussion. And with deliberate reason. • 38. Literary Analysis Of Rene Magritte s The Son Of Man Part of human nature is to find faces in images whether they are supposed to be there or not. So, Rene Magritte purposely made the face unseeable behind the apple. In his painting, there is more than what meets the eye. The way in which he executed the piece is simple yet it still makes those who see the art wonder what it represents. As like any artwork, successes and failures can be found in Magritte s art and how well it portrays the meaning behind the piece. The Son of Man when examined closer, can be more interesting than one might think. Representation lies in every form of art. There is the literal representation, and there is the abstract figurative way of viewing. Simply, the painting shows a man with an apple in front of his face and a storm taking place behind him. Many think the fruit is referencing the tale of William Tell in which he shot an apple off his son s head. Since in Magritte s painting the fruit is floating in front of him, this alludes to him about to be shot in the face. Others quickly think religion inspired the work. The Son of Man sounds eerily close to Son of Man, which is Jesus title. Also, the green fruit could be from the famous tale of the Garden of Eden where Eve took a bite from an apple and committed the first sin. Neither of these are wrong, but Rene Magritte states, Well so you have the apparent face, the apple, hiding the visible but hidden, the face of a person... The following information will address both viewpoints on the genderpay gap and its issues within the economy, as well as history of women in the workforce. History In Colonial America, women stayed at home and took care of the household, took care of the children, made clothes, and made sure that there was food on the table while the men were at war. During this time, a group was formed called The Daughters of Liberty. These women were successful in proving that women can be beneficial to the new country in terms of politics and working. They also wanted to steer away from the British lifestyle while men wanted to keep their traditions. Group Work This work will focus on the meaning, the five stages of Tuckman s theory, the approaches and the uses of group work. Group work refers to a method of social work practice which is concerned with the recognition and use of processes which occur when three or more people work together towards a common purpose (Trevithick, 2005). According to Garvin, Gutierrez and Galinsky (2004), the properties that can be use to describe and change group on which the influence may have an impact include group characteristics, competencies, conditions, change and context. A group should be small between five to nine persons, so that each one will be able to relate and engage every member in the group. The group is viewed as a system, the condition of any member affects the other (Fatout, 1992). The five stage Tuckman s theory (1965) namely forming, storming, norming, performing and adjourning focuses on the way in which a group handles a task from the beginning to completion. The main group work approaches are cognitive behaviourist, feminist, psychoanalytic and humanistic approaches. Knowledge of theory enhances effectiveness of group work. Count Camillo Benso Di Cavour Count Camillo Benso di Cavour was a man born into Italian politics during a time where the divided peninsula was in constant turmoil which was largely due to the many shifts in power throughout the many territories of Italy. Descending from a noble family and having both marquis for a father and a mother who was the lady in waiting to the princess at the time (who was the first Napoleon s sister), Cavour had the chance early on to observe politics (Botta, pg. 6). What he largely had the chance to see was the great divisions that plagued the governments of Italy as it fell from France control. While he was attending the Military Academy of Turin, he found himself hired as the page to Charles Albert, the heir at the time to the throne of Sardinia (Botta, pg. 7). Eventually dismissed by Albert and allowed to return to his studies at the Academy, Cavour soon had the opportunity to tour the country through his rapid progression through the ranks. After his service, Cavour sought to delve deeper into the politics all around him. In addition to studying political science and political economics, he had the opportunity to watch the political changes of England and France (the French Revolution). He is quoted as having said to an English friend in one of his numerous letter that While all of Europe is walking with a firm step in the path of progress, unhappy Italy is always borne down under the same system of civil and religious tyranny. Photomontage is a defining characteristic of Berlin Dada; a vital interwar period movement, which primarily took place between 1915 and 1924. In his succinct argument, Raoul discusses the potential longevity of photomontage as an important medium for not only its initial political and propagandistic purposes but also as having future use case in psychology, sociology, and even optics. Not only is this argument sparked by the opinion, (although these opinionated critics are never directly named), that photomontage did not have future potential but, importantly, that it had also become too commercial for the avant garde.
