Lymphocytes Research Paper
Lymphocytes, one of the main types of cell in the immune system, take part in the function of the
immune system. They are made from stem cells in the bone marrow. After the lymphocytes are
developed they undergo a second stage. The second stage of development is when they gain their
antigen specific receptors. The many functions of the lymphocyteallows them to respond to
invaders in the body, also known as antigens. Lymphocytes destroy antigens in order to avoid
infection. Lymphocytes may work with other cells or they might work alone.
Lymphocytes can be broken down into B and T cells. The B cells main role in the immune systemis
the production of the antibodies, which are the proteins that recognize the antigens and attach to
them. Once the antigen and antibody are attached, the B cell will then mark ... Show more content

The smooth endoplasmic reticulum creates and modifies lipids and breaks down toxic enzymes and

proteins and antibodies. Some of the proteins directly attack the antigens and others helps with the

Ribosomes
The ribosomes function in protein synthesis in the lymphocytes. In polysome profiles such as rat
lymphocytes and sheep lymphocytes it is found that the commitment of the ribosomes with protein
synthesis in lymphocytes is found to be relatively low. Isolated mesenteric ribosomes activity was
to have extra ribosomal factors that were responsible for the poor overall activity in the mesenteric
system. The proteins made are used in the immune system as antibodies and complement proteins
that help the immune system attack the antigens, viruses, and bacteria that are in the

Federalists vs. Democratic Republicans
The United States of America was founded on a Constitution that was supposed to preserve our
freedoms and certain liberties. All Americans at that time wanted to keep America a free an
independent nation with rights for its people. However there was two different groups, the
Federalists lead by Alexander Hamilton and the Democratic Republicans led by Thomas Jefferson,
which thought this could be achieved in very different ways. Thomas Jefferson and Alexander
Hamilton were very different in their methods to try and develop America as a nation. The two
were very much alike because they both were avid Americans, and wanted to see the nation
succeed. Both men were very involved in the U.S. Government and tried to voice their opinions on

The Federalist party, including Hamilton, supported the British more than the French. Federalists
wanted to stay neutral in the French Revolution. Someone who was polar opposite of Alexander
Hamilton in their views was Thomas Jefferson, a member of the Democratic Republican Party.
Jefferson was in favor of a smaller central government with more power to the states. He perceived
that it was unconstitutional to have the federal government to have so much influence on daily life.
Jefferson thought that agriculture should be the backbone of the economy. He also did not support
the idea of a central bank, Jefferson thought that the U.S. should pay off all of its debt and stay out
of business affairs. Those who labor in the earth are the chosen people of god.....for substantial and
genuine virtue (Document D). Thomas thought that America should be the voice of ALL of the
people so he wanted the common people to be able to have more of an influence in the government.
Jefferson did not trust the wealthy people in government and thought that the more down to earth
farmers and commoners would keep them in check. A very prominent difference in Hamilton and
Jefferson was their views on the constitution. Powers not delegated to the United States by the
Constitution,

Essay On Public Speaking Anxiety
Public speaking anxiety There are many ways to help control public speaking anxiety, and it
seems that just about everybody has some methods that help them feel confident while
presenting. Some people pray beforehand or take deep breaths to get their nerves under control.
Some people even visualize the audience in their underwear. Some tactics that work for me are
to find some people in the audience that I know so that it feels like I m only talking to them and
not a large group of people or to just dress in something that makes me feel confident. Of course,
everybody knows that no matter what you do being fully prepared and rehearsed for your
speech is going to make you more confident in delivering the speech and make it sound better to
the audience. Throughout the years ,I ve experienced various times when I ve had to speak in
front of others and sometime the results were better than others. One of the first times, I can
remember speaking in front of my class was in sixth grade for a project about different counties
in Arkansas. I was assigned a small county I had never even heard of before but after a little
research I found out some interesting facts about the county that fascinated me. This caused me to
be very involved and proud of my work. When it came time to present my speech I was very
prepared and excited to share what I had found out. Through my experience I have learned that

Preparation of Pure Culture
It is necessary to isolate organisms in pure culture before studying and identifying them because a
pure culture originates from one cell.
Characteristics colonies from the original culture on the plates were picked with a sterile wire
loop (using surface streaking method) and this loop was used to make streak of the colony on the
surface of newly prepared sterile agar plates of NA,MA amp; MSA.
These streak will space out the inoculants and discrete colony of a particular specie of organism
and then incubated at 35 37oC for 24hours to enhance microbial growth.
Distinct colonies were re inoculated on another fresh agar plates in order to obtain a pure culture.
The isolates were picked with sterile loop and streaked into prepared agar slants, labeled and
incubated for growth after which they were kept in the refrigerator for future use and identification.
Identification of Isolates
These isolated bacteria were identified using both morphological culture characteristics (i.e. the
color, shape, elevation, capacity, consistency, edge) and biochemical test (i.e. citrate, oxidase,
indole, sugar fermentation, test etc.)and the bacteria were identified based on the results obtained

The United States has engaged in numerous international interventions in the Middle East. The
two major events that have shaped the politics of U.S. foreign policy, Israel, and the Arab states
are the Suez Crisis of 1956 and the Six Day War of 1967. President Eisenhower and President
Johnson each took different approaches while confronting these crises. The personalities,
motives and predispositions of the Presidents and their circle of closest advisors explain how
they shaped their policies and how they responded to the events. The decisions these Presidents

Furthermore, Eisenhower opposed the use of force the U.S. sought a diplomatic solution to the
problem. Unlike the U.S., Britain and France viewed Nasser s action as a threat to their national
interests, which led to Operation Musketeer, involving Israel. On October 26, 1956, when the
United States learned of Israel s military mobilization, President Eisenhower personally sent
messages to Israeli Prime Minister Ben Gurion asking Israel to not take any action that would
endanger the peace. However, on October 29, 1956, Israel attacked the Egyptian army, taking
control of the Sinai and the Straits of Tiran. Britain, France, and Israel kept the operation secret
from the United States. Eisenhower felt personally insulted by his allies UK and France for
disregarding the Tripartite Agreement of 1950 and Operation Musketeer. As a professional solider,
he understood and did not rule out the use of force (Lenczowski, 48). In response to these
developments, Eisenhower used economic threats to force his British, French, and Israeli allies to
withdraw from Egypt. Eisenhower valued the UN system and international law, which explains
why he took aggressive action to resolve the conflict through the UN. In a resolution, the U.S.
called for an immediate ceasefire and the evacuation of Israeli, French, and British forces from
Egypt under the supervision of a special United Nations force.

Hamlet Revenge Tragedy Essay

Project: Shakespeare Essay
Hamlet is not like any tragedy. Hamlet is a classic revenge tragedy. All the revenge tragedies were
popular in England during the late 16th and early 17th. A Shakespearean tragedy is built upon a
central conflict which runs through from the beginning to the end of the tragedy until the conflict
is finally resolved. The play is built upon the long, tragic conflict between Hamlet and Claudius and
the conflict is built upon the figure of revenge. The Driving points that shapes the plot of play are
exposition, gradual development of the plot, the suspense, climax and the catastrophe of the play is
the revenge. Especially, the revenge for his father death. But it wasn t just ... Show more content on

There Hamlet learns that his father s death was no mistake, but it was Hamlet s uncle s plan to
murder him. The ghost also tells Hamlet that he has been given the role of the person who will
take revenge upon Claudius. Like a typical revenge tragedy, in Hamlet a crime is committed and
for various reasons laws and justice cannot punish the crime so the individual, Hamlet proceeds
on to take revenge in spite of everything. Hamlet must now think of how to take on Claudius,
although he doesn t know what to do about it. He ponders his thoughts for a long period of times,
expecting to do the act immediately, but instead he drags it on until the end of the play. The
conflict of the play get further development when Hamlet simulate to be insane. The revenge
idea drives him to disguise himself as a mad. Hamlet starts a battle of joke with Claudius by
acting mad and calling it his antic disposition. The whole thing was a scheme to get closer to
Claudius to be able to avenge his father s death more easily. The tactic was a disadvantage in that
is drew all attention upon him. After this the revenge act also structures the middle of the play.
One important part of all revenge plays is that after the revenge is finally decided upon, the tragic
hero delays the actual revenge until the end of the play. Hamlet does the same thing and he delays
of killing Claudius takes on three distinct stages. First he had to prove that

An Example Of Western Culture In The Baroque Period In Italy
A perfect example of western art that depicts the drama and theatre during the periodization of 17th
century Italian Baroque, is the piece titled Susanna and the Elders by Artemisia Gentileschi. In this
painting, there is a woman taking a bath, however, behind her are two men who appear to be
causing trouble. The biblical story has it that while Susanna was bathing, two judges cornered her
offered her a bargain. The malicious men said that either she was to sleep with them, or they would
tell the people that she had been seen with another man as a threat. Rather than being stoned,
Susanna was preserved and the two men were punished for their actions. The Baroqueperiod in Italy
had many key historical events and heavily influenced the visual culture. Italian culture during the
Baroque period was significant because it had many key kinds of art, monuments and other
visuals that represented this time period. During the 17th century, the Baroque consisted of a
strong annunciation surrounding drama, theatre, and reformation. Figures were often displayed
as if they were at a performance. Each painting was detailed and depicted a dramatic scene that
told an elaborate story. It was common for a woman to be portrayed naked and freely as this was
something that occurred often. This era also included an abundance of lights and darks that were
juxtaposed to evoke feelings from the audience. Non western art was equally as exceptional as
each countries art had a significant way of incorporating their culture into each piece. Li K an s
14th century ink on paper painting titled Bamboo displays the beauty within a single form of art,
ink. Although simplistic, the ink has been manipulated into fine lines that show the foliage of the
leaves on the background. This intricate calligraphy work enhances the piece and allows the
artwork to reflect peace and delicacy. Unlike work from the 17th century Italian Baroque, the
Chinese culture does not depict naked women but rather aims towards the ideals of nature.
In China, the artwork was important as it enhanced the key events that were occurring during this
time period in Chinese culture. As control was being taken from the Ming emperors due to the
government growing corrupt,

The Effect Of Fructose On The Aging Process
indefinitely on long lived molecules such as collagen and DNA. Evidence suggests that these
AGE molecules play a role in the aging process. The Maillard process is dependent on the
reactivity of the sugar involved. Fructose is much more reactive than glucose. In vivo, the rate of
non enzymatic glycosylation of haemoglobin was 7.5 greater, and the rate of protein cross linking
(a marker of aging) was 10 times greater, in the presence of fructosethan in the presence of glucose.
Therefore, it is safe to conclude that fructose has a much greater implication in the aging process
than glucose, taking the glycosylation of haemoglobin as an assay for this. [1]
As a reducing sugar, fructose reacts with protein molecules to form toxic advanced glycation end
products (AGEs) to a much greater extent than other sugars, which appears to contribute not only to
the aging process but also play a role in the pathogenesis of diabetic complications in diabetic
patients such as nephropathy, retinopathy, neuropathy and others. Supplementing the diet of
healthy male volunteers with 3g of fructose per kg of body weight per day resulted in insulin
resistance developing in as little as six days. A study carried out in non diabetic rats fed a diet
containing 68% carbohydrate, provided as fructose, shows that almost all retinas from the rats
showed pathologic changes that were histologically indistinguishable from diabetic retinopathy. [1]

The Importance Of Vaccination
Vaccination is necessary to prevent human health from viruses and bacterias around us. There
was some disease that once killed or injured thousand of people, but had been eliminated because
of the existing of vaccines. Polio is a great example of that. This disease had been a most feared
disease, was the cause of deaths of many people. But thanks to vaccines, right now there isn t any
report about Polio in United States. Vaccination is a must for all of people in order to prevent
yourself stay away from disease, illness, and death.
Flu shot is an example of how vaccination could help the body, especially the immune systems.
This system is a network of cells, organs, and tissues that work together to defends the body from
infectious, and the attacks of outside invaders. Also it helps the healing process in case harm
occurs. All of these are to maintain the homeostasis. When the body is infected by a virus, the
body need to have a lot of energy than usual to fight off the invaders. This can lead to fever,
which slow down bacteria and viruses, make it longer for the immune cells B and T lymphocytes
to find and get rid of the invaders. B cells are not directly kills the cell, instead they are producing
antibodies that can hijack invaders as they travel in the blood. Antibodies then act as the flag
whenever there is an infected cell so T cells can recognize and attack it. T cells on the other hand,
may kill the targeted cell that might become infected by the invader or cancerous

Ginsberg’s Affinities with Whitman
Century apart, Allen Ginsberg and Walt Whitman share similar cultural, political and moral values,
which they express in their literary work. Whitman s writing is considered controversial for the
eighteen hundreds. He sets the stage for generations to come breaking way from the strict
Victorian poetic tradition by writing in free verse. Ginsberg follows his footsteps when composing
his poem Howl by writing in long lines almost resembling prose and subdividing the poem into
several parts. Likewise, he uses numerous repetitions to achieve rhythmicity of his verse. Ginsberg s
poem is heavily influenced by Whitman s philosophy. The works Song of myself and Howl are
similar in ideas, structure and underling themes. The two authors protest against old traditions
imposed on the individual by corrupt society, stand against conformity and put emphasis on the
need for change. They identify with their generation and dwell on themes such as sexuality, religion
and the state of American society. Whitman has a philosophical approach about religion, religion
practices and the journey of the soul. He uses the imagery of nature and other every day attributes
to question life beyond death, rebirth and the unison of individual and nature. He is not afraid to
die and admits .... there is really no death, /and if ever there was it led toward life (Whitman line....

ages of late 40 s and 60 s and in children, it usually occurs between the ages of 5 and 15. Some of
the distinctive symptoms of Dermatomyositis is the skin changes that occur. The skin will

Themes In Dead Poets Society
In the Dead Poet s Society the racial, class, and gender identities of the characters are singular.
The boys in the movie attend an all male boarding school in which all the students are Caucasian.
In addition, the boys seem to come from wealthy families that can afford to send their boys to such
a prestigious boarding school. This monolithic starting point provides an opportunity for issues to
develop as cracks in the conservative façade.
Mr. Perry, Neil s father claims to come from a lower class upbringing and is obsessed with giving
his son opportunities that cost money such as medical school, Harvard, and the Welton Academy.
Mr. Perry s behavior, along with the conservative Academy and its repressive headmaster, echo and
the documentary of the McLean(VA) high schoolviewed in class. The documentary illustrated the
differences between a wealthy and poorer school. Taken together, these sources lead me to
believe that there is an enormous emphasis placed on class and wealth by the characters in the
movie. The boys in the movie are privileged for their ease of access to great education. None of
the boys in the movie work for the school or have jobs to pay for their schooling at the prestigious
Welton Academy which prepares them intensely for the best colleges available.
The boys in the movie may be privileged but the older generation, represented by, Headmaster
Nolan, and Mr. Keating, seem to have the greatest power and influence of any characters in the
movie.

Experiential Marketing
FOX, Chantz Christian Creating and Sustaining Customers Through Experiential Marketing
Introduction Marketing is an evolutionary and fluid process that needs to be continually adapted to
consumers in order to keep them coming back time and time again. With increased competition
and volatility on a global scale companies must strive to differentiate themselves from competitors.
Managers should be aware that consumers are changing at an increasing rate as they become more
informed, and should shift from a product and service orientation to a consumer focused
orientation. Simply focusing on an exchange is no longer applicable in today s economy. Pine and

The efficiency and cost effectiveness of staging internet experiences will allow marketers to get
instantaneous and up to date information, as well as educate, demonstrate, or provoke reactions
from their target audience while also building lasting relationships (Smilansky, 2009, p. 126)
Hedonic and Utilitarian Responses In order to create and maintain lasting relationships marketers
and stimulate consumer interest marketers must first identify and adapt to consumer preferences
and behaviors. Two distinctive behaviors of consumption can be identified as hedonic and
utilitarian responses. Hedonic responses are subjective and personal (Babin, Darden, and Griffin,
1994, p. 646), and describe as, those facets of consumer behavior that relate to the multi sensory,
fantasy, and emotive aspects of one s experience with products (Hirschman and Holbrook, 1982, p.
92). In addition, values of hedonic consumption tend to have a fun and playfulness (Holbrook and
Hirschman, 1982 cited in Babin, Darden, and Griffin, 1994, p. 646) where consumers receive
enjoyment from the leisurely activity of shopping (Bäckström, 2010) whether they make an
actual purchase or just casually browsing the newest fashion at the local department store.
Utilitarian consumption values on the other hand can be expressed as purchasing products in a
deliberant and efficient manner and described by consumers as an errand and work where they are

Laurel Creek Health Care Center V. Bishop Essay
Laurel Creek Health Care Center v. Bishop
Court of Appeals of Kentucky,____S.W.3d___(2010)
FACTS
Gilbert Bishop was admitted to Laurel Creek Health Care Center on July 23, 2002, after arriving
via ambulance without family present. During that examination, Gilbert communicated to Laurel
Creek staff that he could not use his hands well enough to write or hold a pencil. Gilbert was
otherwise found to be mentally competent. Gilbert s sister, Rachel Combs, arrived after Gilbert, she
offered to sign the admissions forms, but Laurel Creek employees told her that it was their policy
to have the patient s spouse sign the admissions papers if the patient was unable to sign them.
Rachel also testified that Gilbert asked her to get his wife, Anna ... Show more content on

REASON
Laurel Creek first argues that this is a case of actual agency and that Anna Bishop has actual
authority as Gilbert s agent to sign the admissions paperwork as is therefore bound by the
arbitration agreement therein.
We agree with Laurel Creek that Gilbert created an actual agency relationship between him and his
wife. According to his sister, Rachel, Gilbert specifically asked that his wife be brought to the
nursing home so that she could sign the admissions documents for him, and Anna acted upon that
delegation of authority and signed the admissions papers. This is consistent with the creation of
actual authority as described in the Restatement (Third) of Agency В§ 2.01, comment c (2006). The
Restatement explains the rationale for the creation of actual agency in three steps. First, the
principal manifests assent to be affected by the agent s action. In the instant case, Gilbert asked that
Anna come to the hospital to sign the papers for him. Second, the agent s actions establish the
agent s consent to act on the principal s behalf. Here, Anna signed all the admissions papers per her
husband s request and therefore consented to act on Gilbert s behalf. Third, by acting within such
authority, the agent affects the principal s legal relations with third parties. Clearly here, Anna s
actions affected Gilbert s relations with Laurel Creek, a third party.
The trial court acknowledged that Gilbert had the

The structure, oxidation product and number of unpaired electrons all effects how the hemorrhage
appears on MRI.(Bradley, 1992). Bradley WG. Hemorrhage and brain iron. Magnetic Resonance
Imaging. 2nd ed. St Louis, Mo: Mosby; 1992. Specifically, for all oxidation product of hemoglobin,
oxyhemoglobin has zero number of unpaired electrons and thus is diamagnetic. Deoxyhemoglobin,
which has 4 unpaired electrons, is paramagnetic. Methemoglobin, hemosiderin and ferritin has 5
unpaired electrons and gadolinium has 7. As the number of unpaired electrons are different,
different imaging parameters are needed during MRI process in order to larger the contrast between
hemorrhage and background tissues. Stages of intraparenchymal hematoma include hyperacute
hemorrhage, Acute hemorrhage, early subscute hemorrhage, late subacute hemorrhage and chronic
hemorrhage. Hyperacute hemorrhage are usually before the first 24 hours after hemorrhage begin.
During this period, hemoglobin is in form of oxyhemoglobin and the location of hemoglobin are
now intracellular. Then the next stage, acute hemorrhage, which is usually during the first 1 3 days,
the hemoglobin now changes to deoxyhemoglobin. After three days from hemorrhage begins, it
comes to early subacute stage and the hemoglobin are now methemoglobin. Late subscute stage is
more than seven days after the hemorrhage begin. Now the hemoglobin stays as methemoglobin but
the location for them are now extracelluar. Finally, after 14 days in common, it comes to chronic
stage and hemoglobin changes to ferritin and

Department of Homeland Security (DHS). Some feel that FEMA s absorption into DHS was to
blame for the failure to effectively respond to Hurricane Katrina. There was much unfamiliarity
with the revised National Response Plan and the fresh creation of the Department of Homeland
Security. It s been said that experience is the best teacher. The unfortunate thing is that the learning
process is sometimes such a painful one. (The U.S. House of Representatives, 2006). During a
hearing held in October 2005, it was said that FEMA had been under funded and under staffed, thus
contributing to the unsuccessful response to Hurricane Katrina. Furthermore, there were claims
that Congress had undermined FEMA s effectiveness when it consolidated with the Department of
Homeland Security. Ultimately, no one knew what role the Department of Homeland Security
played during a disaster situation. Unfortunately, there was a failure of managing the risk factors
associated with an actual hurricane affecting New Orleans. The current emergency plan in place at
the time of Hurricane Katrina only prepared the area for a Category 3 hurricane. No one

Foil Characters In A Tale Of Two Cities
In Dickens A Tale of Two Cities , polar opposites Sydney Carton and Charles Darnay are often
paired together. These two foil characters are joined together to improve the themes of this novel.
Carton and Darnay are dynamic characters who keep the story moving through their similarities
and differences. By breaking each character down, it can be made known who the better man truly
is. First, Charles Darnay is introduced. He is a sophisticated man with manners, poise, and purpose.
He soon becomes the husband of Lucie Manette, the daughter of the man his family falsely
imprisoned (which shows he comes from a lying background). Darnay eventually receives a letter
from an old friend in France asking for help. If Darnay goes to help his friend he can also protect
his reputation and not be called a coward. Because of this, Darnay decides to leave. He may be
going to France to help a friend, but the real reason is to defend his status. This does not help

what he has. Carton believes the Darnay is what he could have been if he would have stayed away
from alcohol. He sacrifices his life to save Darnay so Lucie could be happy. He is such a good man

Analysis Of Emily Dickinson
From another perspective. Can human creatures do without the windows of soul eyes and belong to
the world of feelings and senses? A diversity of thoughts for a theme that raises contradictions. I
think no, you think maybe, but what does Emily Dickinson think? What does the blind poet that
experiences the world from her room think? Between lines and stanzas Emily Dickinsonexpresses
herself, as a passionate poet, without barriers, open minded and sincere. With a diamond hard
language that reflects light to the dark, hope and inspiration till the last moment she attracts us to
her unique world. By reading her pearls in white paper, we get deep into thoughts in our brain.
Emily Dickinson s poetryspeaks powerfully to us. It captures us inside our mindand recreates
meaningful events and memories. It helps us to understand and even to re live our own
experiences through her intensity and with her emotional clarity. In the first stanza of Before
she got her eye put out, I liked as well to see / As other creatures, that have eyes / And know no
other way At first it is indicated that the speaker used to enjoy seeing and it was the only way she
could experience the world. Dickinson plays with I an eye to express that her eyes are her identity
and without them she would be dead . By using the dashes, she lets us stop and think deeply. In the
second stanza, the readers encounter with the image of the sky that seems

The scene begins in Verona on a sunny day, this is where we meet Benvolio and Tybalt. The
quarrel begins in the general public, after the quarrel begins is when we shift scenes. The next
scene takes place in an open area where the public joins in on the fights. The battle continues
until the Prince arrives with his royal guards. He then says that if the Capulets and Montagues
fight once more, they are all killed. Thus setting the base for a tragedy, and then we get into
scene two. Romeo returns home after a harsh quarrel with a love interest. He sees the aftermath of

Outsourcing American Jobs Hurt U.s. Economy
Outsourcing American Jobs Hurt U.S. Economy Globalization is the integration of markets through
the cooperation of internalization, federal, and state governments with corporate companies to
provide low cost products. Subsequently, outsourcing is an essential part of this globalization.
However, what exactly is outsourcing? In its broadest sense, outsourcing is simply contracting out
functions that had been done in house a longtime U.S. practice ( Globalization: Threat or
Opportunity ). When a U.S. manufacture product, and buys material from an intermediate supplier
from out of the country rather than producing them in house, that is what is called outsourcing.
Also, when U.S. corporationhires outside contractor out of the country to do U.S. call center
services for less labor cost that is outsourcing. When a company deals out its operational task, such
as payroll, accounting, and software operations that is outsourcing. To get the clear understanding
of outsourcing, I have interviewed IKEA s U.S. Deputy Retail Country Manager Rob Olson about
outsourcing Swedish goods. Olson stated that IKEA s outsourcing utilizes the unique talents of
different countries and their labor markets to increase trade, which helps better allocate resources in
their own countries while getting goods cheaper from others. Today, there are massive numbers of
people who think what started as a globalized extension by sending some work outside, in fact, is

Regulation of Violent Video Games
Issue: Video games are the primary source of entertainment for children nowadays. Be it in form
of Wii Games, Nintendo or Xbox; children nowadays seems to be practically smitten with video
games. It was also shown as evidence in some cases that the influence of such games is so huge
that few children start speaking and acting like characters in the video games. Many video
games, dating back to 1976 s Death Race, contain some or other aspect of violence, such as
killing the bad person, driving dangerous vehicle etc. With advancement in graphic technology
including software, modern computers and other game related technology, the way in which such
violence and other extreme sports are being depicted has become more vivid and realistic.
Further, as more and more children are getting exposed violent games, there is a growing
awareness among both parents and the government for regulation of such games. Also, apart from
the fact that people were, in general, becoming more aware and conscious, numerous studies were
also being done to find connection between violent video games and the rate at which violence and
crime is growing. Some of these studies showed existence of a positive correlation. Incidents such
as the massacre at Columbine High School in 1999 heightened concerns of a potential connection
between video games and violent actions. Many independent social workers including politicians
were continuously trying to evoke public response towards sale of such violent video

67 72 Chevy Trucks In this paper, I will be explaining most, if not all, of the differences between
1967 1972 Chevrolet pickup trucks. What I mean when I say that is these trucks all have the same
body style, but a lot of little differences that I think make them better or worse. For example, the
1967 Chevy truck has no marker lights on both the front and rear quarter panels, which is one of
the more noticeable changes from the 1967 to 1968 models. There is a pattern in the styles they
use like the 1967 and 1968 have the same grills and hoods. Then in 1969, the grill and hood
change a little bit but it is practically the same thing. The grill got a little bit of a change in 1970
but it is very minor and hardly noticeable and 1971 and 1972 the grills ... Show more content on

The most visible change in telling the difference in a 1968 from a 1967 was the addition of side
marker reflectors on all fenders. Also, the small rear window cab was no longer available.
Another addition was the Custom Comfort and Convenience interior package that was better
than the Standard cab and more low class that the CST cab options. C10 or K10 models could
be manufactured with either a 115 inch wheel base with a 6 1/2 foot cargo box or 127 inch
wheelbase with an 8 foot cargo box available in Fleet side or Step side models. Standard Features
included Full width seat with vinyl trim, deluxe air heater/defroster, backup lights, painted front
bumper because chrome bumpers are not considered standard . Also the 1968 Chevy trucks
came with a 2 speed windshield wiper and directional signals. For about 160 dollars more, the CST
(Custom Sport Truck) package could be ordered which had all of the features listed above, plus
Western style vinyl seats, roof rim molding, carpeting for the floor panels and also for the gas

SOCIOLOGY AND OTHER SCIENCES
Sociology deals with society [people];how people interact, their culture, norms, values just like
other social sciences like psychology, economics, psychology which also deal with people and how

There is also a relationship between sociology and economics which is another social science.
economics deals with the production of goods and services and how they are distributed to people

The answer sciences related to sociology are social sciences. Social science are sciences which

Whether a person leaves a society does not change anything to the fact that this society will still
contain suicides. Sociology s task thus consists of discovering the qualities and characteristics of
such social facts, which can be discovered through a quantitative or experimental approach
(Durkheim extensively relied on statistics). One can thus argue that Durkheim defended a form of
sociological positivism.[7]
Method and objectivity
In his Rules of the Sociological Method (1895), Durkheim expressed his will to establish a method
which would guarantee sociology s truly scientific character. One of the questions raised by the
author concerns the objectivity of the sociologist: how may one study an object which, from the
very beginning, conditions and relates to the observer? According to Durkheim, observation must
be as impartial and impersonal as possible, even though a perfectly objective observation in this
sense may never be attained. Sociology should therefore privilege comparison rather than the study
of singular independent facts. Consequently, a social fact must always be studied according to its
relation with other social facts, never according to the individual who studies it.

Education
Durkheim was also interested in education. Partially this was because he was professionally

The Day When Christ Will Return

Matthew 24:36 44 ONLY THE FATHER KNOWS The Day When Christ Will Return.
My grand kids are getting to the point where they love to play hide and seek. But they really don

really fast. And it s so fun to say Ready or Not, Here I Come they want to just skip to that part.
Then there is the ongoing problem of where to hide which basically requires an understanding of

Jesus is still answering the disciples questions asked in Matthew 24:3 As he sat on the Mount of
Olives, the disciples came to him privately, saying, Tell us, when will these things be, and what
will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age? (Matthew 24:3, ESV) The setting is the
Mount of Olives. The lessons are called the Olivet Discourse. The longest answer Jesus gave to any
line of questioning.
The first part of their question: When will these things be? relates to the destruction of
Jerusalem and the temple and is graphically described in verses 15 28. The second part of their
question relates to knowing the sign of Christ s coming and we looked at that last week in verses
29 35. And regarding the question of the end of the age, the disciples are told they cannot know
when the end of the age is in verse 36. Only the Father knows.
Which brings a question to our minds? Does Jesus know now? John MacArthur says: Although
He was fully God as well as fully man (John 1:1, 14), Christ voluntarily restricted His use of
certain divine attributes when He became flesh. Who though he was in the form of God, did not
count equality with God a thing to be

The story of an hour and the interlopers are two completely different stories, most people would

When she is in her room she begins to have a strange sense of freedom. At first she does not want
to accept this. Almost as soon as she has embraced this new sense of freedom, she goes back
down stairs and her husband walks in the front door causing her new awakening to be dashed out

Application of Genetic Algorithm in the Process of Sound...
This project comprises the application of genetic algorithm in the process of sound evolution using
Darwinian Theory of survival of fittest whereby its emergent behaviour is employed to produce
sound which evolves towards better solution by adapting to the environment over the numerous
generations using its simple operations of selection, crossoverand mutation. In the context of sound
evolution, genetic algorithmhas been used to evolve musical notes where the process of fitness
function is employed to measure the fitness of candidate solution that takes into consideration the
numbers of criteria need to be exists in candidate solution to make individuals rhythmic in nature.
The role of genetic algorithm in the process of sound evolution is considered to be vital as far as
evolutionary computation is concerned which best suits the application domain in this project. To
produce rhythmic sound, numbers of criteria are considered into the fitness function since it does
shape the population significantly followed by the rating of individuals based on existence of those
criteria into population expected from fitness function. The overall idea of this project and hence
the genetic algorithm in sound evolution is to converge the population towards rhythmic sound
since the criteria are expected from fitness function that leads the function of selection towards the
consideration of those individuals who are most fit followed by the rejection of least ones.

Red Blood Cell Hypoxia
Hypoxia is a condition that is caused by the decrease in oxygen pressure, insufficient oxygen
transport, or when tissues are physiologically incapable of making use of the oxygen supplied to
them. Hypoxia occurs in the tissues and brain and cumulates to impaired cognitive functions. The
ability to maintain homeostasis and oxygen levels is an essential part of survival for all
vertebrates. Various physiological systems have evolved to assure every cell in an organism
receives optimal oxygenation. Hypoxia emerged as physiological structures used for oxygen
delivery such as erythrocytes evolved. Anoxia is the extreme type of hypoxia that manifests when
the body is without oxygen leaving the tissues and brain torpid. Hypoxia can manifest in five
different forms: Pemic, Hypoxemic,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Extended exposure to hypoxic conditions can cause elevated RBC count; a condition called
Polycythemia. The elevation in the production of red blood cell is a consequence of renal failure
that affects the kidney. This results in the kidney producing a enythrogenin into the blood stream.
This produces erythropoietinogen; a plasma protein reaction which produces erythropoietin.
This activates the bone marrow to produce more red blood cells. Hypoxia can seriously defect
the brains respiratory region. Any sort of loss of oxygen to any area of the brain can cause
irreversible damage and lead to unconsciousness. When there is a shortage of oxygen supply to the
brains respiratory region, it causes the integrating center to trigger an increase in the breathing rate
of the organism. At any point, if an organism is to become starved of oxygen, the brain cells
undergo apoptosis. This paper will address hypoxia, variations in hemoglobin of marine mammals

Factors Affecting The Demand For Toothbrushes
To assess the factors affecting the demand for toothbrushes in India, a situation analysis has been
performed using the 5Cs framework:
Context: In 2009, India was the world s largest democracy; with a population of 1.16billion
growing at 1.4% per annum, the country suffered from a huge disparity in income with the
majority of Indian population (78%) living in rural areas, and as many as 80% living under $2 per
day. The 78% who lived in rural areas accounted for c. 64% of total expenditures in India. Around
50% of the Indian population did not have sufficient awareness of dental healthcare, and did not
associate dental problems with improper care but rather to eating habits or genetics; most of these
Indians were using natural remedies as chewing twigs from the Neem tree. Among the remaining
population who used modern dental healthcare or a toothbrush, 77% brushed their teeth less than
twice a day (recommended usage), and out of the 747.1million brushes sold every year, only 8.6%
replaced their brush every 3 months. Cottle Taylor (CT) enjoyed a large market share in India and
focused on toothbrushes. Given the peculiarities of the market, CT decided to focus on
toothbrushes where it enjoys larger gross margins by virtue of its existing manufacturing
infrastructure that has been built over the years.
Customers: Given the composition of the Indian population described earlier, the customers are
typically price sensitive with not much disposable income. The majority of

Environmental Consequences Of The Green Economy
Environmental assets are subject to over consumption and exploitation, resulting in environmental
damage because of the absence of an economic value associated with them (Wood, 2011). Since
these environmental assets or ecosystem services are not owned, or lack price tags, there is no
economic incentive to protect them. This brings forth an important dichotomy between the
environment and the economy. The economic and environmental challenges we face today are of
great concern for subsequent generations and unless urgent action is initiated, the consequences
could unfold with the daunting prospect of a long and deep recession with increasing
unemployment rates and decreasing output and an even greater ecological catastrophe (Wilson,
2013; Wood, 2011). The green economy poses a solution that tackles both these challenges together
by safeguarding environmental protection through the creation of markets for ecosystem services
which, in turn, can benefit the economy. This paper will discuss some of the benefits and
problems arising from the idea of a green economy and look at the example of the carbon market to
assess whether it achieves meaningful environmental protection or is just another ploy that fails to
achieve real solutions that protect the environment or reduce the effects of climate change. 2.What
is the Green Economy ? Canada s future economy will be a green economy. But getting there will

The Song Ten Minutes Ago, Is From Rodgers And Hammerstein...
The song Ten Minutes Ago is from Rodgers and Hammerstein s Cinderella. A musical adaption
of the classic fairytale by the same name, it became a musical sensation when Richard Rodgers
and Oscar Hammerstein transformed it into a live musical television broadcast in 1957. Starring
Julie Andrews, it retold the fairytale of a young girl living a miserable life under the roof of her
evil stepmother and her three equally vicious stepsisters. With the Prince s Ball nearing, the four
women in her family were planning to go, leaving Cinderella at home on the night of the ball.
When all hope seemed lost, Cinderella s Fairy Godmother appears, granting her wishes by
transforming her from rags to riches, and giving her a pair of glass slippers. Cinderella was able
to go to the ball unrecognized, under the condition to be home by midnight, when the spell wore
off. At the ball, she meets the prince and there is immediately chemistry, but she rushes to leave
before the clock strikes twelve, in fear of the prince seeing her for who she really was and being
disgusted by her true self. As she escapes the castle, she loses one of her glass shoes on the steps
of the castle. Leaving it behind, she makes it home without being seen by anyone, and resumes
her life as a poor girl being abused by her family. The next day, the prince announces a search for

husband or not. She is trying to be strong for her family and hold them together, because she feels
like that is her job as a mother. Elizabeth has a mindset that her husband is out drinking and

humans have to live, there is no time to live in pity and regret. Elizabeth has the idea that her
husband is staying out at bars while she is home taking care of the kids miserable and worried.
This is not how a healthy marriage works. Elizabeth realizes she never even loved her husband
and was only attracted to the lust when D.H. Lawrence says, There had been nothing between

realization that the only reason she has stuck around is for her family and social acceptance.
Elizabeth has guilt towards her assumption when she is proven wrong. After coming the

him but this is not true. Elizabeth has no emotion and is silenced because she feels sad for her
assumption when D.H. Lawrence writes But from death, her ultimate master, she winced

Effects Of Nonverbal Behavior On Power Perceptions Of Male...
Abstract
The purpose of this research is to build on Auginis and Henle (2001) and Auginis, Simonsen and
Pierce (1998) by examining the effects of nonverbal behavior on power perceptions of male and
female employees in managerial positons. This study will use a 2 (Gender: male vs. female) x 3
(Nonverbal behavior: eye contact vs. facial expression vs. body posture) x 2 (Repeated measures:
pre test vs. post test) design. Employees in the retail industry will fill out a questionnaire prior to
the study pertaining to their general perceptions of male and female employees in managerial
positons. The questionnaire will be followed by two video tape recordings, showing a male and
female manager engaging in all three types of nonverbal behaviors. After watching each video,
the participants will be asked to evaluate their perceptions of the manager s power bases (reward,
coercive, legitimate, referent, and credibility) by filling out a questionnaire. It is predicted that
male employees will be perceived as having more power than female employees for all power
bases. Effects of Nonverbal Behavior on Power Perceptions:
Male and Female Employees in Managerial Positions Body language is a form of nonverbal

Essay On Stock Market
Many traders exclusively focus on dealing with penny stocks when investing the stock market
because of the obvious greater volatility and profit potential behind them. With this increase
profit potential, there is the increased likelihood of risk, as well, because cheap stocks can just
as easily drop in value in a short span of time as they can appreciate. This is why it s essential to
be able to differentiate between well performing and poorly performing stocks so that you can

Investing in stock is an art which you need to master if you need to be successful. When you
decide to invest in stock these are some of the things that you should consider.
Invest in companies that are worth more than their market value
Consider the profitability levels of the company this can be done by assessing the return on equity,
the return on Invested capital and the company s profit margin. The return on equity is the rate at
which shareholders earn from their shares. One when investing in stock markets you should invest
in companies which have a return on equity in excess of 15%. The return on equity is calculated
by dividing the company s Net income by shareholders equity. The company s net incomes over net
sales should also be considered because sales determine the profit margin of the company.
Avoid companies with big debt ratios even if their return on investment is high. This can be
assessed by diving the company s total liabilities by the shareholder s equity.
Understand the business your joining very well, avoid investing in companies and businesses you
re not well versed with. A good knowledge of business helps you to participate in its growth and
development. In the business you understand very well you re able to analyze the market and also
assess the complicated markets.

We can safely state that no single theory of management is universally accepted today. To provide a
useful historical perspective that will guide our study of modern management, we shall discuss five
different approaches to management : (1) the universal process approach, (2) the operational
approach, (3) the behavioral approach, (4) the systems approach, and (5) the contingency approach.
Understanding these general approaches to the theory and practice of management can help you
appreciate how management has evolved, where it is today, and where it appears to be headed.
Each of the five approaches to management represents a different conceptual framework for better
understanding the practice of management.

The universal process approach is the oldest and one of the most popular approaches to
management thought. It is also known as the universalist or functional approach. According to the
universal process approach, the administration of all organizations, public or private and large or

Pölönen et al in 2011 conducted research on The effectiveness of the Finnish EIA system . He
inspected main weaknesses and strengths of EIA as a participatory and preventive environmental
management tool. According to him EIA has enhanced the legitimacy of the planning processes and
tools used in environmental policy. The planning has been made more transparent through the
participation of stakeholders. In the early phase of Planning, the participation has made it possible
to strengthen the trust between stakeholders, and allows sound consensus in disagreement. It has
also prevented appeals in the later phases of decision making. EIA also has influence on project

Panigrahi and Amirapu in 2012 conducted research on An assessment of EIA system in India .
According to the authors there is well developed regulatory EIA system established in India but
coordination is vital for an effective EIA system. Interviews with the officials and consultants
showed that there is weak coordination among the decision makers, SPCBs, consultants,
proponents and other agencies/line departments. Proponents and consultants do not consult
concerned departments and agencies during preparation of EIA reports to identify issues. The
authors carried out the assessment of the EIA process and identified the following weakness in
the system. There are comprehensive guidelines, legal and legislative provisions but
administrative setup is very weak. EIA is just a formality as most of the time EIA is conducted
after start of construction. Coordination among the consultants and planners are very weak.
Involvement of stakeholders into ToR process during scoping is inadequate which results in a thin
coverage of socio economic and environmental issues in the EIA reports. The quality of EIA
reports are very poor and not up to the mark. The reason identified is the lack of experts and
professionals. There are many weaknesses identified in the reports such as it hardly discusses the
limitations and assumptions carried out by consultants.

Antigone, By Susan Glaspell And The Doll House
In todays world it is not hard to find a woman in any role in society, however this was not always
the case. In time periods previous to this, the role of women was quite different than it is in
today s world. What is now equality and power was once seclusion and degradation towards
women of society. Over the course of time the role of women has changed dramatically, and the
plays Antigone by Sophocles, Trifles by Susan Glaspell and The Doll House by Henrik Ibsenare
great works that show how women can challenge the boundaries that were put on them by a
society that was not very accepting of feminism. In Antigone , it does not take long for our main
character (Antigone) to step outside of the boundaries set against women in society. Antigone s
brothers died in battle as leaders of separate sides, and only one was to be honored after death
while the other would remain on the battlefield. A strict ruling was put down by the leader
Creon that Antigone s brother Polyneices be left to rot, which Antigone quickly decides to defy.
After asking her sister Ismene for help with the deed of a proper burial (which was declined),
Antigone spoke of Creon by saying Nay, he hath no right to keep me from mine own (Sophocles,
Norton 11th Edition). Antigone breaks the obvious rule of society by going against Creon s
command to not give proper burial to her brother. This was not like many of the women of this
time period because women were not seen as equal in the decision making process,

EXPANDING COVERAGE IN HEALTHY FEEDING PROGRAMS ACROSS TEXAS
DISTRICTS This letter seeks to provide a detailed exposition of a multi faceted aspect of the
challenge of food insecurity in Texas and a proposal of clear cut practical solutions. The hope is
that through the publication of this piece, the issue will assume centre stage and attract the needed
response. Over the years, notable healthy feeding intervention programs across different
government and community levels have been channelled to Texas in response to the much
documented challenge of widespread food insecurity across the state. These programs have
contributed in varying degrees to mitigating the crisis of food insecurity in the state (Children at
Risk, 2016). However, progress in retention of beneficiaries and expansion of coverage has
remained a real challenge. For there to be a sustained substantial reversal of food insecurity in
Texas, a clear determination backed by concrete plans to remove obstacles to continued coverage
and expansion for further inclusion must be prioritized. It is important to renew critical focus on
the devastating impact of food insecurity and its vast spread in the United States in

One Day International Cricket Essay
When it comes to contemporary One Day International (ODI) cricket, Bangladesh and England are
undoubtedly the two most improved units in past couple of years. Since the 2015 World Cup, in
terms of win loss ratio, England have been the second best (1.615) after South Africa (2.090). In
the list Bangladesh too are sitting pretty with a ratio of 1.111, which is better than big boys like
India, Sri Lanka and Pakistan. Both England and Bangladesh have completely transformed their
games in this format. On the field, they have been aggressive, innovative and entertaining an ultra

Unpredictable English conditions to dictate terms? For the past three four days, London is
experiencing some indifferent weather. Mostly the mornings have been cloudy and it had its
effect in recent matches. On Sunday, in a warm up fixture a strong New Zealand batting were
restricted to 189 by the Indian bowlers, with Mohammed Shami being the destroyer in chief.
Next day at Lords, we have seen England tottering at 20 for 6 their worst start in ODI history
against the South Africa new ball duo of Kagiso Rabada and Wayne Parnell. On the same day,
on the other side of Thames, at the Oval, Bangladesh were bowled out for just 84 against India,
with pacers taking nine out of their 10 wickets. The early morning cloud cover aids swing in this
part of the world and with similar weather is being predicted on Thursday, it can be an important
factor in the game. Especially the Bangladesh cricketers, who are not familiar with such conditions,
may have to be extra cautious. No complacency in English camp England may be playing their best

Comparative Analysis of Cultural Ideologies in Norway and the United States
The intent of this paper is to examine individualistic and communitarian cultural ideologies within
two distinctly different political environments. The first challenge in comparing two nations is
deciding which approach is most appropriate. There are several approaches in political science that
have proven most beneficial when making comparisons. This study will use a comparative
government approach to examine the political institutions, processes, constitutions, and functions of
government within each of the two countries selected. The countries that have been chosen for this

The problem is that our individual actions, each perfectly consistent with our individual
preferences, can and often do combine to produce collective outcomes that none of us would have
chosen (Bickers, 11). And thus lead to the need for protection against those outcomes, administered
through a democratic government.
There are several authors that are noted for their dynamic research on the communitarian
movement. The spokesperson for the contemporary communitarian movement is Amitai Etzioni.
He explains that communitarians believe that the fundamental and central political problem is
finding the right amount of togetherness and common concern. He continues, if people are to
individualistic, they fail to support each other s efforts and to respect each other s needs. If people
are too unified, they become authoritarian and attempt to use the state to impose a common set of
beliefs and practices.
Like ancient philosophers, communitarians find the lack of unified purpose and direction in
society to be a crucial problem. Those who speak of the joys of not associating with others, but of
being left alone by them, are most closely associated with individualism. And their noteworthy
spokesperson is author and abolitionist Henry David Thoreau. This early author, observing the
pressures, expectations, and demands made upon us by the societies in which we live, concluded
that the mass of men lead lives of quiet desperation (Scott, 51). The

  • 3. Lymphocytes Research Paper Lymphocytes, one of the main types of cell in the immune system, take part in the function of the immune system. They are made from stem cells in the bone marrow. After the lymphocytes are developed they undergo a second stage. The second stage of development is when they gain their antigen specific receptors. The many functions of the lymphocyteallows them to respond to invaders in the body, also known as antigens. Lymphocytes destroy antigens in order to avoid infection. Lymphocytes may work with other cells or they might work alone. Lymphocytes can be broken down into B and T cells. The B cells main role in the immune systemis the production of the antibodies, which are the proteins that recognize the antigens and attach to them. Once the antigen and antibody are attached, the B cell will then mark ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Some of the proteins directly attack the antigens and others helps with the immune system cells. Ribosomes The ribosomes function in protein synthesis in the lymphocytes. In polysome profiles such as rat lymphocytes and sheep lymphocytes it is found that the commitment of the ribosomes with protein synthesis in lymphocytes is found to be relatively low. Isolated mesenteric ribosomes activity was to have extra ribosomal factors that were responsible for the poor overall activity in the mesenteric system. All Americans at that time wanted to keep America a free an independent nation with rights for its people. However there was two different groups, the Federalists lead by Alexander Hamilton and the Democratic Republicans led by Thomas Jefferson, which thought this could be achieved in very different ways. Thomas Jefferson and Alexander Hamilton were very different in their methods to try and develop America as a nation. The two were very much alike because they both were avid Americans, and wanted to see the nation succeed. Both men were very involved in the U.S. Government and tried to voice their opinions on ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Federalist party, including Hamilton, supported the British more than the French. Federalists wanted to stay neutral in the French Revolution. Someone who was polar opposite of Alexander Hamilton in their views was Thomas Jefferson, a member of the Democratic Republican Party. Jefferson was in favor of a smaller central government with more power to the states. He perceived that it was unconstitutional to have the federal government to have so much influence on daily life. Jefferson thought that agriculture should be the backbone of the economy. He also did not support the idea of a central bank, Jefferson thought that the U.S. should pay off all of its debt and stay out of business affairs. Those who labor in the earth are the chosen people of god.....for substantial and genuine virtue (Document D). Thomas thought that America should be the voice of ALL of the people so he wanted the common people to be able to have more of an influence in the government. • 5. Essay On Public Speaking Anxiety Public speaking anxiety There are many ways to help control public speaking anxiety, and it seems that just about everybody has some methods that help them feel confident while presenting. Some people pray beforehand or take deep breaths to get their nerves under control. Some people even visualize the audience in their underwear. Some tactics that work for me are to find some people in the audience that I know so that it feels like I m only talking to them and not a large group of people or to just dress in something that makes me feel confident. Of course, everybody knows that no matter what you do being fully prepared and rehearsed for your speech is going to make you more confident in delivering the speech and make it sound better to the audience. Throughout the years ,I ve experienced various times when I ve had to speak in front of others and sometime the results were better than others. One of the first times, I can remember speaking in front of my class was in sixth grade for a project about different counties in Arkansas. I was assigned a small county I had never even heard of before but after a little research I found out some interesting facts about the county that fascinated me. This caused me to be very involved and proud of my work. When it came time to present my speech I was very prepared and excited to share what I had found out. Furthermore, Eisenhower opposed the use of force the U.S. sought a diplomatic solution to the problem. Unlike the U.S., Britain and France viewed Nasser s action as a threat to their national interests, which led to Operation Musketeer, involving Israel. On October 26, 1956, when the United States learned of Israel s military mobilization, President Eisenhower personally sent messages to Israeli Prime Minister Ben Gurion asking Israel to not take any action that would endanger the peace. However, on October 29, 1956, Israel attacked the Egyptian army, taking control of the Sinai and the Straits of Tiran. Britain, France, and Israel kept the operation secret from the United States. Eisenhower felt personally insulted by his allies UK and France for disregarding the Tripartite Agreement of 1950 and Operation Musketeer. As a professional solider, he understood and did not rule out the use of force (Lenczowski, 48). In response to these developments, Eisenhower used economic threats to force his British, French, and Israeli allies to withdraw from Egypt. Eisenhower valued the UN system and international law, which explains why he took aggressive action to resolve the conflict through the UN. In a resolution, the U.S. called for an immediate ceasefire and the evacuation of Israeli, French, and British forces from Egypt under the supervision of a special United Nations force. • 8. Hamlet Revenge Tragedy Essay Daisy Santos Language Arts 12 10/30/17 Project: Shakespeare Essay Hamlet is not like any tragedy. Hamlet is a classic revenge tragedy. All the revenge tragedies were popular in England during the late 16th and early 17th. A Shakespearean tragedy is built upon a central conflict which runs through from the beginning to the end of the tragedy until the conflict is finally resolved. The play is built upon the long, tragic conflict between Hamlet and Claudius and the conflict is built upon the figure of revenge. The Driving points that shapes the plot of play are exposition, gradual development of the plot, the suspense, climax and the catastrophe of the play is the revenge. There Hamlet learns that his father s death was no mistake, but it was Hamlet s uncle s plan to murder him. The whole thing was a scheme to get closer to Claudius to be able to avenge his father s death more easily. The tactic was a disadvantage in that is drew all attention upon him. After this the revenge act also structures the middle of the play. • 9. An Example Of Western Culture In The Baroque Period In Italy A perfect example of western art that depicts the drama and theatre during the periodization of 17th century Italian Baroque, is the piece titled Susanna and the Elders by Artemisia Gentileschi. In this painting, there is a woman taking a bath, however, behind her are two men who appear to be causing trouble. The biblical story has it that while Susanna was bathing, two judges cornered her offered her a bargain. The malicious men said that either she was to sleep with them, or they would tell the people that she had been seen with another man as a threat. Rather than being stoned, Susanna was preserved and the two men were punished for their actions. The Baroqueperiod in Italy had many key historical events and heavily influenced the visual culture. Italian culture during the Baroque period was significant because it had many key kinds of art, monuments and other visuals that represented this time period. During the 17th century, the Baroque consisted of a strong annunciation surrounding drama, theatre, and reformation. Figures were often displayed as if they were at a performance. Each painting was detailed and depicted a dramatic scene that told an elaborate story. It was common for a woman to be portrayed naked and freely as this was something that occurred often. This era also included an abundance of lights and darks that were juxtaposed to evoke feelings from the audience. Non western art was equally as exceptional as each countries art had a significant way of incorporating their culture into each piece. Li K an s 14th century ink on paper painting titled Bamboo displays the beauty within a single form of art, ink. Although simplistic, the ink has been manipulated into fine lines that show the foliage of the leaves on the background. This intricate calligraphy work enhances the piece and allows the artwork to reflect peace and delicacy. Unlike work from the 17th century Italian Baroque, the Chinese culture does not depict naked women but rather aims towards the ideals of nature. In China, the artwork was important as it enhanced the key events that were occurring during this time period in Chinese culture. As control was being taken from the Ming emperors due to the government growing corrupt, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 10. The Effect Of Fructose On The Aging Process indefinitely on long lived molecules such as collagen and DNA. Evidence suggests that these AGE molecules play a role in the aging process. The Maillard process is dependent on the reactivity of the sugar involved. Fructose is much more reactive than glucose. In vivo, the rate of non enzymatic glycosylation of haemoglobin was 7.5 greater, and the rate of protein cross linking (a marker of aging) was 10 times greater, in the presence of fructosethan in the presence of glucose. Therefore, it is safe to conclude that fructose has a much greater implication in the aging process than glucose, taking the glycosylation of haemoglobin as an assay for this. [1] As a reducing sugar, fructose reacts with protein molecules to form toxic advanced glycation end products (AGEs) to a much greater extent than other sugars, which appears to contribute not only to the aging process but also play a role in the pathogenesis of diabetic complications in diabetic patients such as nephropathy, retinopathy, neuropathy and others. Supplementing the diet of healthy male volunteers with 3g of fructose per kg of body weight per day resulted in insulin resistance developing in as little as six days. A study carried out in non diabetic rats fed a diet containing 68% carbohydrate, provided as fructose, shows that almost all retinas from the rats showed pathologic changes that were histologically indistinguishable from diabetic retinopathy. • 11. The Importance Of Vaccination Vaccination is necessary to prevent human health from viruses and bacterias around us. There was some disease that once killed or injured thousand of people, but had been eliminated because of the existing of vaccines. Polio is a great example of that. This disease had been a most feared disease, was the cause of deaths of many people. But thanks to vaccines, right now there isn t any report about Polio in United States. Vaccination is a must for all of people in order to prevent yourself stay away from disease, illness, and death. Flu shot is an example of how vaccination could help the body, especially the immune systems. This system is a network of cells, organs, and tissues that work together to defends the body from infectious, and the attacks of outside invaders. Also it helps the healing process in case harm occurs. All of these are to maintain the homeostasis. When the body is infected by a virus, the body need to have a lot of energy than usual to fight off the invaders. This can lead to fever, which slow down bacteria and viruses, make it longer for the immune cells B and T lymphocytes to find and get rid of the invaders. B cells are not directly kills the cell, instead they are producing antibodies that can hijack invaders as they travel in the blood. Antibodies then act as the flag whenever there is an infected cell so T cells can recognize and attack it. T cells on the other hand, may kill the targeted cell that might become infected by the invader or cancerous ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 12. Ginsberg’s Affinities with Whitman Century apart, Allen Ginsberg and Walt Whitman share similar cultural, political and moral values, which they express in their literary work. Whitman s writing is considered controversial for the eighteen hundreds. He sets the stage for generations to come breaking way from the strict Victorian poetic tradition by writing in free verse. Ginsberg follows his footsteps when composing his poem Howl by writing in long lines almost resembling prose and subdividing the poem into several parts. Likewise, he uses numerous repetitions to achieve rhythmicity of his verse. Ginsberg s poem is heavily influenced by Whitman s philosophy. The works Song of myself and Howl are similar in ideas, structure and underling themes. The two authors protest against old traditions imposed on the individual by corrupt society, stand against conformity and put emphasis on the need for change. They identify with their generation and dwell on themes such as sexuality, religion and the state of American society. Whitman has a philosophical approach about religion, religion practices and the journey of the soul. He uses the imagery of nature and other every day attributes to question life beyond death, rebirth and the unison of individual and nature. He is not afraid to die and admits .... there is really no death, /and if ever there was it led toward life (Whitman line.... )He finds the Devine power in nature and everything around him rather that in the altar of a church, which ... Eliza Gant was the character staring in my high school s spring play, and she had completely taken over my being. Her motherly instinct found its way into my teenage lifestyle, and the way she approached conflict with a loud voice and obvious attitude altered my usually easy going demeanor. I had never played a role so great and I was truly worried that my own unique characteristics would come out on stage, unconnected with this woman who was so unlike me. My mother saw the way I had used her traits to take on an empowered, though aggressive, motherly figure. My emotions and way of addressing family members were taken directly from the approach I had witnessed her in mothering my siblings and the many important phone calls she shared with her father concerning their legal practices and daily lives. She hated seeing her bad traits come out on stage, but loved the way I looked up to her with all the hard work that made its way into the part. I was incredibly proud to find out how much people seemed to dislike my character. She was an overwhelming and angry woman, something that I had never wanted to become. The boys in the movie attend an all male boarding school in which all the students are Caucasian. In addition, the boys seem to come from wealthy families that can afford to send their boys to such a prestigious boarding school. This monolithic starting point provides an opportunity for issues to develop as cracks in the conservative faГ§ade. Mr. Perry, Neil s father claims to come from a lower class upbringing and is obsessed with giving his son opportunities that cost money such as medical school, Harvard, and the Welton Academy. Mr. Perry s behavior, along with the conservative Academy and its repressive headmaster, echo and the documentary of the McLean(VA) high schoolviewed in class. The documentary illustrated the differences between a wealthy and poorer school. Taken together, these sources lead me to believe that there is an enormous emphasis placed on class and wealth by the characters in the movie. The boys in the movie are privileged for their ease of access to great education. None of the boys in the movie work for the school or have jobs to pay for their schooling at the prestigious Welton Academy which prepares them intensely for the best colleges available. Managers should be aware that consumers are changing at an increasing rate as they become more informed, and should shift from a product and service orientation to a consumer focused orientation. Two distinctive behaviors of consumption can be identified as hedonic and utilitarian responses. Hedonic responses are subjective and personal (Babin, Darden, and Griffin, 1994, p. 646), and describe as, those facets of consumer behavior that relate to the multi sensory, fantasy, and emotive aspects of one s experience with products (Hirschman and Holbrook, 1982, p. 92). Bishop Court of Appeals of Kentucky,____S.W.3d___(2010) FACTS Gilbert Bishop was admitted to Laurel Creek Health Care Center on July 23, 2002, after arriving via ambulance without family present. During that examination, Gilbert communicated to Laurel Creek staff that he could not use his hands well enough to write or hold a pencil. Gilbert was otherwise found to be mentally competent. Gilbert s sister, Rachel Combs, arrived after Gilbert, she offered to sign the admissions forms, but Laurel Creek employees told her that it was their policy to have the patient s spouse sign the admissions papers if the patient was unable to sign them. REASON Laurel Creek first argues that this is a case of actual agency and that Anna Bishop has actual authority as Gilbert s agent to sign the admissions paperwork as is therefore bound by the arbitration agreement therein. We agree with Laurel Creek that Gilbert created an actual agency relationship between him and his wife. According to his sister, Rachel, Gilbert specifically asked that his wife be brought to the nursing home so that she could sign the admissions documents for him, and Anna acted upon that delegation of authority and signed the admissions papers. This is consistent with the creation of actual authority as described in the Restatement (Third) of Agency В§ 2.01, comment c (2006). The Restatement explains the rationale for the creation of actual agency in three steps. First, the principal manifests assent to be affected by the agent s action. In the instant case, Gilbert asked that Anna come to the hospital to sign the papers for him. Second, the agent s actions establish the agent s consent to act on the principal s behalf. Here, Anna signed all the admissions papers per her husband s request and therefore consented to act on Gilbert s behalf. Third, by acting within such authority, the agent affects the principal s legal relations with third parties. Clearly here, Anna s actions affected Gilbert s relations with Laurel Creek, a third party. The trial court acknowledged that Gilbert had the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Economy Outsourcing American Jobs Hurt U.S. Economy Globalization is the integration of markets through the cooperation of internalization, federal, and state governments with corporate companies to provide low cost products. Subsequently, outsourcing is an essential part of this globalization. However, what exactly is outsourcing? In its broadest sense, outsourcing is simply contracting out functions that had been done in house a longtime U.S. practice ( Globalization: Threat or Opportunity ). When a U.S. manufacture product, and buys material from an intermediate supplier from out of the country rather than producing them in house, that is what is called outsourcing. Also, when U.S. corporationhires outside contractor out of the country to do U.S. call center services for less labor cost that is outsourcing. When a company deals out its operational task, such as payroll, accounting, and software operations that is outsourcing. Olson stated that IKEA s outsourcing utilizes the unique talents of different countries and their labor markets to increase trade, which helps better allocate resources in their own countries while getting goods cheaper from others. Be it in form of Wii Games, Nintendo or Xbox; children nowadays seems to be practically smitten with video games. Many video games, dating back to 1976 s Death Race, contain some or other aspect of violence, such as killing the bad person, driving dangerous vehicle etc. With advancement in graphic technology including software, modern computers and other game related technology, the way in which such violence and other extreme sports are being depicted has become more vivid and realistic. Further, as more and more children are getting exposed violent games, there is a growing awareness among both parents and the government for regulation of such games. Also, apart from the fact that people were, in general, becoming more aware and conscious, numerous studies were also being done to find connection between violent video games and the rate at which violence and crime is growing. Some of these studies showed existence of a positive correlation. One of the questions raised by the author concerns the objectivity of the sociologist: how may one study an object which, from the very beginning, conditions and relates to the observer? This project comprises the application of genetic algorithm in the process of sound evolution using Darwinian Theory of survival of fittest whereby its emergent behaviour is employed to produce sound which evolves towards better solution by adapting to the environment over the numerous generations using its simple operations of selection, crossoverand mutation. In the context of sound evolution, genetic algorithmhas been used to evolve musical notes where the process of fitness function is employed to measure the fitness of candidate solution that takes into consideration the numbers of criteria need to be exists in candidate solution to make individuals rhythmic in nature. The role of genetic algorithm in the process of sound evolution is considered to be vital as far as evolutionary computation is concerned which best suits the application domain in this project. To produce rhythmic sound, numbers of criteria are considered into the fitness function since it does shape the population significantly followed by the rating of individuals based on existence of those criteria into population expected from fitness function. Various physiological systems have evolved to assure every cell in an organism receives optimal oxygenation. • 37. Factors Affecting The Demand For Toothbrushes To assess the factors affecting the demand for toothbrushes in India, a situation analysis has been performed using the 5Cs framework: Context: In 2009, India was the world s largest democracy; with a population of 1.16billion growing at 1.4% per annum, the country suffered from a huge disparity in income with the majority of Indian population (78%) living in rural areas, and as many as 80% living under $2 per day. The 78% who lived in rural areas accounted for c. 64% of total expenditures in India. Around 50% of the Indian population did not have sufficient awareness of dental healthcare, and did not associate dental problems with improper care but rather to eating habits or genetics; most of these Indians were using natural remedies as chewing twigs from the Neem tree. Among the remaining population who used modern dental healthcare or a toothbrush, 77% brushed their teeth less than twice a day (recommended usage), and out of the 747.1million brushes sold every year, only 8.6% replaced their brush every 3 months. Cottle Taylor (CT) enjoyed a large market share in India and focused on toothbrushes. Given the peculiarities of the market, CT decided to focus on toothbrushes where it enjoys larger gross margins by virtue of its existing manufacturing infrastructure that has been built over the years. Customers: Given the composition of the Indian population described earlier, the customers are typically price sensitive with not much disposable income. The majority of ... • 38. Environmental Consequences Of The Green Economy Environmental assets are subject to over consumption and exploitation, resulting in environmental damage because of the absence of an economic value associated with them (Wood, 2011). Since these environmental assets or ecosystem services are not owned, or lack price tags, there is no economic incentive to protect them. This brings forth an important dichotomy between the environment and the economy. The economic and environmental challenges we face today are of great concern for subsequent generations and unless urgent action is initiated, the consequences could unfold with the daunting prospect of a long and deep recession with increasing unemployment rates and decreasing output and an even greater ecological catastrophe (Wilson, 2013; Wood, 2011). The green economy poses a solution that tackles both these challenges together by safeguarding environmental protection through the creation of markets for ecosystem services which, in turn, can benefit the economy. This paper will discuss some of the benefits and problems arising from the idea of a green economy and look at the example of the carbon market to assess whether it achieves meaningful environmental protection or is just another ploy that fails to achieve real solutions that protect the environment or reduce the effects of climate change. 2.What is the Green Economy ? Capital One uses IT through its information based strategy (IBS) to record, organize, and analyze data on the characteristics and behaviors of their customers, as stated by CEO Richard Fairbank. Their philosophy was to exploit information by constructing scientific models that could be used to both assess the creditworthiness of potential cardholders through FICO scoring, and to customize product offerings for existing ones. The immediate consequences of their expansion strategy proved the efficiency of their statistical modeling to inhibit Capital One from taking any missteps into industry s that are either saturated or do not allow enough growth in the future. Capital One considered expanding into auto insurance and auto financing, but fierce competition, low margins, and stringent regulation kept them from pursuing this immediately. (Capital One did recently acquire Summit Acceptance Corporation an auto financing company that focused on the sub prime market). Next they looked at the energy and telecom industries, but consumer energy usage patterns are available publicly which kept them from exploring this option further. Abstract The purpose of this research is to build on Auginis and Henle (2001) and Auginis, Simonsen and Pierce (1998) by examining the effects of nonverbal behavior on power perceptions of male and female employees in managerial positons. This study will use a 2 (Gender: male vs. female) x 3 (Nonverbal behavior: eye contact vs. facial expression vs. body posture) x 2 (Repeated measures: pre test vs. post test) design. Employees in the retail industry will fill out a questionnaire prior to the study pertaining to their general perceptions of male and female employees in managerial positons. The questionnaire will be followed by two video tape recordings, showing a male and female manager engaging in all three types of nonverbal behaviors. After watching each video, the participants will be asked to evaluate their perceptions of the manager s power bases (reward, coercive, legitimate, referent, and credibility) by filling out a questionnaire. It is predicted that male employees will be perceived as having more power than female employees for all power bases. In time periods previous to this, the role of women was quite different than it is in today s world. What is now equality and power was once seclusion and degradation towards women of society. Over the course of time the role of women has changed dramatically, and the plays Antigone by Sophocles, Trifles by Susan Glaspell and The Doll House by Henrik Ibsenare great works that show how women can challenge the boundaries that were put on them by a society that was not very accepting of feminism. In Antigone , it does not take long for our main character (Antigone) to step outside of the boundaries set against women in society. Antigone s brothers died in battle as leaders of separate sides, and only one was to be honored after death while the other would remain on the battlefield. A strict ruling was put down by the leader Creon that Antigone s brother Polyneices be left to rot, which Antigone quickly decides to defy. After asking her sister Ismene for help with the deed of a proper burial (which was declined), Antigone spoke of Creon by saying Nay, he hath no right to keep me from mine own (Sophocles, Norton 11th Edition).
