Even though William the Conqueror descended from a line of Vikings who had lived in France for
over 200 years, William had more of an impact on the English language than the majority of
influential English born people of the time. The French speaking Normans brought a whole new

Quantitative and qualitative researches are based on different paradigms. Qualitative research strategy
focuses mainly on words, human behaviour in the cultural context, attitudes and life experiences

confirm how the variables interrelate. It is subjective and always relies on the interpretation of the
situation of the individual undertaking the study.
