the determining factor in the future of an individual. In the realm of social work, resilience theory
can be applied to individuals as a way to formulate whether or not that individual was or will be
successful in life. Resilience theory focuses on the strengths of individuals. Like most theories used
in social work and psychology, there are both the strengths of the theories as well as the limitations
of the theories. Resilience theory cannot escape this trend. There are numerous strengths and, in
contrast, limitations with resilience theory. Luthar, Cicchetti, and Becker (2000) identify a
limitation of resilience theory with the idea that even though a child is thriving in their current

The main character in The Last of the Mohicans by James Fenimore Cooper is Hawkeye.
Hawkeye is a american woodsman that agrees, with his indian companions to help the group get
to Fort William Henry. Cooper calls him many names including The Long Rifle, the scout, and
La Longue Carabine. Hawkeye s character changes consistently throughout the book. I am
going to analyze how Hawkeye acts at the beginning of the book, compared to the middle and
the end. To start, Hawkeye acts in a unique way at the beginning of the book. The first thing that
you can see about him is that he clearly does not trust any member of the Huron tribe. You can
see this as Hawkeye is unrelenting as he claims that the Huron that was supposed to guide the
group to the fort, is instead leading Heyward and the girls towards an ambush. He is also very

Hawkeye is someone that is quite two sided. He is portrayed as a individual who is a firm
believer in individuality and someone who makes decisions despite race. We can see this as he
openly admits to the fact that he does live in an indian social world despite being a white settler.
He doesn t just treat Uncas and Chingachgook like indian companions, but more as great friends
and family members. Other times he seems to be quite stiff necked in racial beliefs. He often

Alfred Adler was born on February 7, 1897 in the suburbs of Vienna. Adler had two series
conditions to as a child that motivated him to be a doctor, by the age of five he had survived
rickets and pneumonia. In 1895 he received his medical degree from the University of Vienna, he
began his medical career as a ophthalmologist. Adler examined personality and soon rejected
Freud s emphasis on sex and believed personality difficulties deal with a feeling of inferiority

In this bit of coursework I will be investigating the rate of reaction in which enzymes are the
catalyst breaking down a substrate. The substrate I am going to use is Hydrogen Peroxide
(H2O2, water with another Oxygen), this molecule usually breaks down on its own accord, but
also the rate of decomposition can be increased with the use of a catalyst; in this case the catalyst
is a biological one called an enzyme. Hydrogen Peroxide slowly breaks down on its own accord into
water (H2O) and oxygen (O2):

I would put the H2O2 in slowly every time in all my experiments, this would be so I do not lose
oxygen by giving the substrate energy to break down before the experiment had started. I would
then put the bung with the syringe through it in the test tube. I would stir the enzyme solution,
this is because the enzymes are in suspension and could be unevenly spread out through the
water, and then collect it using the 1ml syringe, because a 1ml syringe is more accurate for
collecting 1ml than a 5ml syringe is. I would then inject the enzyme solution through the syringe
needle in the bung quickly into the H2O2 for all of my experiments; I will inject it quickly
because it is one of the factors I am going to control throughout my experiments. I will then
measure the amount of O2 given off at regular 20 second intervals. From my preliminary
experiment, I chose to record the volume of O2 given off at 20 second intervals because I thought
30 seconds was too long an interval and 10 seconds was too quick an interval.
I expect that as the concentration of H2O2 increases then so will the rate of reaction and the
