Romeo And Juliet Essay Love
Crafting an essay on the theme of love in "Romeo and Juliet" may seem deceptively simple,
given the play's reputation as a quintessential love story. However, delving into this topic
demands a nuanced understanding of Shakespearean language, a profound grasp of the
characters' psychology, and an ability to dissect the multifaceted nature of love portrayed in the
play.
The complexity arises from the layers of love depicted – from the impulsive and passionate
love of the titular characters to the familial love strained by ancient grudges. To do justice to the
topic, one must navigate the intricacies of Shakespeare's poetic language, unraveling metaphors
and similes that characterize the lovers' expressions. Moreover, an in-depth analysis of the
characters' motivations, actions, and the consequences of their love is imperative.
Addressing the paradoxical aspects of love – its beauty and destructive potential – requires
finesse. The essay should explore the juxtaposition of romantic love with themes of violence,
fate, and societal expectations. It is a delicate balance to convey the intensity of emotions while
considering the broader context of the play.
Furthermore, drawing connections to relevant literary and historical contexts adds another layer
of difficulty. The essay should not only showcase an understanding of Shakespearean literature
but also the socio-cultural backdrop influencing the playwright.
In conclusion, composing an essay on the topic of love in "Romeo and Juliet" demands more than
a superficial exploration. It necessitates a deep dive into the intricacies of the characters, the
poetic nuances of the language, and the broader thematic elements at play. Success in this
endeavor lies in the writer's ability to unravel the complexities of love as depicted by
Shakespeare and present a thoughtful, well-supported analysis.

The Chrysalids Essay
Women have always had an impact on men! Mothers, sisters, aunts, friends, wives,
or girlfriends are all part of this group of women, and can change a man in many
ways. Similarly in the book, The Chrysalids the protagonist David Strorm deals
with three important women in his life, that have a huge impact on him. They all
influence his character, and some help him through his journey, and some create
problems for him. The three women, Aunt Harriet (David s Aunt), Petra (David s
full sister), and Sophie (David s childhood friend), have always helped out David,
and supported through harsh times, and thus they have affected David in a big
way. Firstly, Aunt Harriet has a big influence on David, because David feels
sorrow due to the situation that his aunt is going through. Aunt Harriet is talking
to David s father, This is the third time. They ll take my baby away again like they
took the others. I can t stand that not again. Henry will turn me out, I think. He ll
find another wife, who can give him proper children. There ll be nothing nothing in
the world for me nothing. I came here hoping against hope for sympathy and help.
Emily is the only person who can help me. I I can see now how foolish I was to
hope at all... (Wyndham 71, 72) David thinks about his mother, and how she reacts to
this situation, which had a negative impact on David. Later on David could not stop
thinking about Aunt Harriet after the incidence, For several nights I dreamed of Aunt

Barriers To The Transgender Community
In today society the transgender people all over the world will face sever
discrimination, stigma, systemic inequality and harassment. One of the many barriers
transgender face is data collection on health disparities. Transgender people have
been reported to be at higher risk of developing health problems; many have little to
no access on health care resulting in low rates of employment and insurance coverage.
Human Rights Campaign Foundation reports In a 2012 needs assessment by the
Washington D.C. Trans Coalition, about 44 percent of those who identified health as
one of their top priorities said that access to transgender sensitive healthcare was their
most significant need. Beyond facing barriers to obtaining medically necessary health
services and encountering medical professionals who lacked health care competency,
the NTDS found that almost 20 percent of respondents had been refused medical care
because of bias. The restriction of denying healthcare is unlawful and unfair treatment
is creating stigma against transgender people. According District of Columbia on the
Human Rights campaign in 2014 reported state legislatures across the country are
debating and in some cases passing legislation specifically designed to prohibit
transgender people from accessing public bathrooms that correspond with our gender

The National Transgender Discrimination Survey (NTDS) found that about 15
percent of respondents were living in severe poverty (making less than $10,000

percent of Black and 28 percent of Latina/o respondents reporting a household
income of less than $10,000 a year. Leaving people of the transgender community at
higher risk of poverty, resulting in homelessness and in engaging in reckless activity

Mathematical Order in the Artwork of Leonardo Da Vinci
Essay
Mathematical Order in the Artwork of Leonardo Da Vinci
A large portion of the Italian Renaissance was an obsession with finding order in
everything in the universe. Its primary actors sought to show nature as orderly and
fundamentally simple. Leonardo Da Vinci, the epitome of the Renaissance Man, was
not the first to apply these ideas of geometric order and patterns to art, but he may be
the most well known. Da Vinci used mathematical concepts like linear perspective,
proportion and geometry in much of his artwork.
Leonardo was born on April 15, 1452 in Vinci, a town 50 kilometers west of
Florence in what is now Italy. The illegitimate son of a notary, he grew to become
one of the most renowned and influential men in the fields of ... Show more content

By using this method, Da Vinci made the painting appear to be an extension of the
room itself (Brizio, 52). It should be noted that The Last Supper is his final piece
showing evidence of linear perspective. It was completed in 1498. Of the 14
paintings attributed to Da Vinci before 1500, only four use linear perspective
(Zwijnenberg, 130 5). So it is clear he was not bound by any one method, just as he
was not bound by any one field of study.
Leonardo s most famous painting by far is the Mona Lisa. It is a simple portrait of
a young woman whose identity is unknown. She is sitting in front of a mountainous
nature scene dressed in the clothing of the time. The most captivating aspect of the
mysterious young woman is her very subtle smile. Not only is this a beautiful
painting superficially, but also it is filled with many puzzles that art historians have
been studying for years. One of the most interesting is the mismatch in the horizon
of the background. The left side is significantly lower than the right. So if the
observer focuses on the left side of the painting, she appears to be much taller and
more erect than if he focuses on the right (WebMuseum). Da Vinci was a master of
using perspective to trick the eyes of the observer.
Mona Lisa, Leonardo Da Vinci, c. 1506 [3]
Leonardo Da Vinci, like other artists of his time, paid particular attention to
proportion. In The Last Supper, he sought to create a perfect harmonic

1.Introduction
Among female specific cancers worldwide, ovarian cancer is the third most
common following breast and cervical cancers.1 It is the leading cause of death
from gynaecologic malignancy in the Western world, with a 5 year survival rate of
approximately 30% in advanced stage disease.2 Despite radical surgery and initial
high response rates to first line chemotherapy, up to 70% of patients experience
relapse with a median progression free survival of 12 to 18 months.3 Furthermore,
sensitivity to platinum based chemotherapies decreases with each subsequent relapse
with the development of platinum resistant and refractory disease.4 As such, there
remains an urgent need for novel targeted therapies to improve clinical outcomes and
tolerability in ovarian cancer treatment. In an age when great advances have been
made in understanding the genetics and molecular biology of this heterogeneous

Memorial Hall Essay
Memorial Hall
When walking through Boston s renowned Harvard Yard, one may scope out the
mixture of architecture throughout its landscape. From the traditional Memorial
Hall influenced by Romanesque churches, to the Carpenter Center for the Visual
Arts, Harvard Yard is like a salad bowl of architecture. Perhaps because I am a lover
of Victorian style structures, or maybe because of its interior s beauty and richness,
Memorial Hall intrigued my interest most of all.
Memorial Hall, which was originally a civil war monument, is now a theater and
student union for Harvard University. The 19th century architects Robert Ware and
Henry Van Brunt designed this building to resemble the Victorian Gothic
Romanesque churches of the time. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This window also allows a colorful light inside the memorial of the building. The
interior of Memorial Hall differs from the gothic structures that the building resembles
from the outside. While gothic structures were composed mostly of stone, Memorial
Hall is decorated with walnut. The vaulting, which traditionally would be made of
stone, is made of wood. There is a repeated use of the rosette, trefoil, quatrefoil, and
cross motifs that help connect the exterior with the interior of the building. These
details are found in the wood carvings of Sanders Theater, the great transept doors, the
sandstone frieze that surrounds the exterior, the columns and wrought iron gates, the
buttress, the stained glass windows, and the chandeliers. Also there is ornamental
ironwork that outlines the roof if Sanders Theater and crowns the four subsidiary
towers. Another feature of Memorial Hall that captures the mood of its exterior is the
layout of the remaining original furnishings throughout the building. The materials
used to construct the interior and exterior of Memorial Hall create a defined space in
which the building captivates.
When I walked through Memorial Hall I became instantly drawn into the structure.

Fantastic Four Essay
Marvel s Fantastic Four debuted in 61 as a superhero comic book series that
zeroed in on the flawed loving and familial bond shared among its characters.
Given that this context and the comic book series main focus on the problems of
human existence hindered with their crimefighting capabilities (Genter 2007), it s
hard to read the significance of matriarch Susan Sue Storm (Invisible Girl then later
dubbed as Invisible Woman) far from of the understandings of the second wave
feminism. She is a wife to Reed Richards (Mister Fantastic), an older sister to
Johnny Storm (the Human Torch), and a colleague and caretaker to Ben Grimm (the
Thing), Invisible Woman s power (the ability to become invisible) could be seen as a
message on the changing cultural visibility of women s rights in the 60s. Laura
Mattoon D Amore (2008) purposed that Sue Storm figuratively expressed the 50s
suburban housewife, under compensated and unnoticed of all her victories, invisible
and unappreciated in a world of and for men. Following these notions within Fantastic
Fourcomic books through the 60s, Laura Mattoon D Amore explains that Invisible
Woman s power of invisibility is seen as both literally and symbolically, reflecting
and averting the time period s gender norms. Laura Mattoon D Amore shows this
change from reflection to deflection in 64 s Fantastic Four #22, in which Invisible
Woman learns to create force fields, staying visible as she undergoes invisibility onto
other characters.
Foreshadowing In Oedipus The King
Foreshadowing is a tool used by playwrights and authors of all types as a means to
direct the audience into a path of questioning and intrigue throughout the course of
a novel or play. After reading both of these theatrical works, it struck me just how
often I dismiss/fail to acknowledge the big red flags stuck within the ground of the
text and thus proceed to give myself incredibly undeserved credit at the end of
every reading for having figured out what was going to happen all by myself .
Therefore, I have taken it upon myself to examine the importance of this technique in
order to credit the playwrights and show how their use of foreshadowing creates
tension, credibility and a specific atmosphere in both of their fictitious worlds.

with a comic relief after learning about the seriousness of Figaro s predicament,
but also informs us about the future plans of the character which keeps us intrigued
and in anticipation for the remainder of the plot. It is important to note the way in
which the provision of knowledge in this play and the lack of it in Oedipus the
King are both capable of maintaining the curiosity of a spectator. However, I would
also like to point out that each tactic is suited to the genre of the play i.e. you want
to keep the audience informed as to what is going on in a comedy however, you want
to maintain the eeriness that comes along with not knowing what will happen next in a

The Distribution of Wealth
Everyone has his or her own ideas of how wealth should be distributed properly.
Some people believe wealth should be left to family, left for public services, or
become the property of others. Others believe that people should not have excess
wealth, resulting in non existent class distinctions. An alternative view is that wealthis
not distributed; instead, the wealthy continue to grow wealthier while those in
poverty can not escape it and fall further into a life of poverty. The beliefs discussed
above come from three different writers. Those writers include Andrew Carnegie,
Karl Marx, and Robert B. Reich. These writers all have different opinions on how
wealth should be distributed properly. Andrew Carnegie does not believe wealth is...

This solution would help eliminate poverty and create equality among everyone in
society. Marx lists ten different things that must be done in order to accomplish the
elimination of class distinctions. One of the demands states, Abolition of all right of
inheritance (Marx 474). This demand in particular completely disagrees with Andrew
Carnegie s belief that wealth can be left to the family after death. Another way to
eliminate the wealthy class, according to Marx, is to force the wealthy to give their
land to the state. Communism also demands that all children in public schools
receive free education (Marx 474). By allowing all children to receive the same
education, the children raised in poverty have been given a chance at working their
way out. By giving these children that opportunity, a step has been taken forward in
eliminating the class of poverty because it finally gives them a chance in getting out
of poverty and having the same lives as others with more wealth than them. These
are just three of the ten ways that Marx believes are the keys to eliminating class
distinctions and providing everyone with the same amount of wealth. The final
belief about the distribution of wealth is that it is not distributed at all. Robert B.
Reich does not believe wealth is distributed. He believes that the wealthy have been
earning more money while those in poverty have continued to make less, lose jobs,
and grow poorer (Reich

Matt was alone. In a cabin in the woods all by himself, he was keeping house till
his parents came. He met an Indian boy who invited him to his village. Should he
go? Matt should not have gone to the Indian village for these three reasons. They
were not familiar people, it was not his usual trail, and he was not the expected
champion. The first reason Matt should not have gone to the Indian village is that
they were not familiar people. He did not understand their ways, their speech, or
their dances. He was totally clueless about the Indian culture, except what he had
heard from his teachers. He would likely say or do something foolish, and offend
someone, and who knows what they might do to him if they got angry. He was not

The Eiffel Tower And Architect Gustave Eiffel
Name of structure
The famous structure I have selected is the Eiffel tower, named after and built by an
engineer Gustave Eiffel who was French.
Location
The Eiffel tower was oriented/built on the end of the champ de Mars near the Seine
river on the left in the seventh arrondissement of Paris, France. The address of the
Eiffel tower is Champ de Mars, 5 Avenue Anatole France, 75007 Paris, France.
Exact height
Many people, tourists and communities are amused by the fact the height of the Eiffel
tower has lately (in 1957) increased by 39 feet (11.8872 metres) because an Antenna
has been constructed on top of the original Eiffel tower to increase its height. Gustave
Eiffel had a desire of making the Eiffel tower taller after all the structures that have
been built throughout History, he wanted the Eiffel tower to fabricate development
through its height. The exterior height of the Eiffel towers measures 1024 feet tall
(312.1152 metres) excluding the antennas. Currently, the exact height of the Eiffel
tower measures 1063 feet (324. 0024 metres) including the antennas that were
constructed on top.
Dimensions
The Eiffel tower is one of the world s tallest structure ever built. The Eiffel tower
has a height of 312.1152 metres excluding the antennas and the height with the
antennas that was constructed in 1957 is 324.0024 metres. The exterior base of the
Eiffel tower is in a shape of a square which measures 124.90 metres by 124.90 metres.
The interior base of the Eiffel tower is

Values And Ethics Of Social Work
Values and ethics are important in the field of social work because they serve as
guidelines for behavior and conduct. What is social work exactly? A very simple
and brief response is helping those in need and providing said persons with
resources they could not attain on their own. It s always aspiring to educate one s
self on new resources, information and newly developed theories. This is more than
a career; this is a decision that makes one question the direction of their moral
compass.
Philosopher Mortimer Adler states, Moral virtues are like the arts or skills, they are
habits formed by repeated acts. Simply put values are a measure of what is
paramount and just. When we practice values that are congruent, we develop and put
into practice the skills outlined in the foundations of social work.
Ethics are the specific standards of values that social workers must follow. They
are the likeness of the values in the way they mirror principles. Charles Levy once
said in a lecture that social workers in a strategic position to affect others and their
interest, what are value based aspirations affecting the conduct of people in general
are, for social workers, enforceable imperatives.
To be a social worker, one needs to have clear and concise boundaries when they
practice. For example, to understand a client the social worker must level with said
person and engage them on a personal level that develops trust but at the same time
they must always remain professional and

This would have several benefits, first is that the reps would be pretty adept at

thorough of the product specifications and features their individual growth curves
would be much better by the time they are in the initiation phase of the sales growth
curve. This will result in a much better understanding of the market and the product
leading to short lagging times in the cash inflow. Do note that the skills required for a
renaissance rep, namely, communication within the organization, tolerance to
ambiguity, deep interest in the product technology and extracting valuable
information from the customers is exactly what would be needed for the job of
surveying the marketplace, and even systematically finding new segments of the
market. This early recruitment would ensure that they are the first to find the cellular

Once the product is passed the beta phase, he would already be in the latter stages of
the initiation phase, but still he should avoid using his resources in sales yet. He
should let the renaissance reps continue with their role, and since he had partnered up
with Tandy, he should use their distribution channels to broaden the list of potential
customers. He shouldn t rush to start selling to the stores, and this would put a little
financial pressure.
Myopia Is The Most Common Eyesight Problem
Myopia is the most common eyesight problem which affects about one in five
people worldwide. Myopia, also known as nearsightedness, is a refractive error
which makes it difficult for people to see objects that are far away. The different
kinds of myopia, each based on its own symptoms and severity. All of these myopia
share similar symptoms such as blurry vision, headaches and eyestrain. The most
common is classified as simple or mild myopia. High myopia is a severe form of
myopia which affects about 2% of the population. An eye with high myopia
continues to grow and become large which increases the risk of retinal detachment.
On normal eyes, the light rays will focus directly on the surface of the retina.
Another form of severe and rare myopia is degenerative myopia, which begins in
early childhood and increases the risk of degenerative changes. Myopia occurs
when the eyeball is too long or when the cornea is too curved for the length of the
eyeball which causes the light rays to focus in front of the retina. This renders a
person s vision to be limited to under 6 meters. Not being able to see objects that
are further than 6 meters creates problems for humans when performing daily tasks.
To combat this issue, most people use a form of vision correction such as glasses or
contact lenses while others get surgery. The curved lenses of eyeglasses and contact
lenses helps refocus the light rays onto the retina. Refractive surgeries correct myopia
by changing the shape of the

The Romanticism And Realism Of Alice In Wonderland
The Romanticism and Realism of Alice in wonderland I. Introduction Alice in
wonderland is a famous children s literature written by the English author Charles
Lutwidge Dodgson whose pseudonym is Lewis Carroll in 1865. The author is not
only a mathematician, a logician, but also an Anglican deacon and photographer.
In his early years, Charles was educated at home. At twelve he was sent away to a
small private school at nearby Richmond. But in 1845, young Dodgson moved on
to Rugby School. He left Rugby at the end of 1849 and went to Oxford in January
1851. In 1856 he published his first piece of work under the authorship of Lewis

The Scripture God s Power
Theology Proper From the opening of Scripture God s power is on display as he
creates ex nihilo, but before such an awesome display can even be considered, one
must contemplate that God is. Numerous creeds throughout history have begun with
the affirmation, I believe in God. The existence of God is seen in the intricate designs
and the complexity of the universe, but this alone cannot fully establish the existence
of the Goddescribed and revealed to us in Scripture. The biblical God is more than
just a creator of a deistic universe; his power extends beyond. Although he is
sometimes spoken of in anthropomorphic terms, God is spirit (John 4:24). He does
not have a spirit as man does; he is pure spirit. No one has seen God nor can see
him with the physical eye (2 Tim 6:16). A spirit has no flesh and bones (Luke
24:39). God as spirit has great implications in the understanding of who God is and
the worship we offer. In the above referenced verse, John goes on to say that those
who worship God must do so in spirit and in truth; the nature of God determines
how he is served. (FOOTNOTE FERGUESON, 213 LOGOS) This will be discussed
at greater length in a later section. Therefore, despite the primarily masculine
language used in both the Old and New Testaments, God has no gender. This truth
has spawned an increased critique of the way God is discussed and portrayed in
modern society and has brought up concerns about linguistics and how Scripture is
interpreted through the
Arnold Chang Research Paper
I paint landscapes in the traditional Chinese manner. I employ traditional materials
and traditional techniques and, for the most part, I mount and display my works in
the traditional scroll format. Arnold Chang considers himself a traditional artist
that is in search of his ethnic identity through exploring the middle ground between
traditional art and contemporary art. Chang is, more or less, a half Asian who was
born in New York City in 1954. Although, his mother was half Chinese and his
father was full Chinese, Chang was hardly exposed to the Chinese language or
culture as a child. Chang found his love for art when he visited an exhibit featuring
a six panel screen of lotus flowers by Zhang Daqian (Silbergeld 161). After his
father recognized Chang s interest in Chinese art, Chang began taking lessons from
his neighbor, Wang Jiyuan, a Chinese renowned artist living in New York City at the
time. While studying with Wang, Chang focused heavily on calligraphy and
brushwork (Silbergeld 162). Chang eventually went off to college to... Show more

Wang who taught him to analyze traditional art pieces (Silbergeld 163). This led to
Chang s methods of recreating traditional pieces with his own personal style. Chang
s earlier exposure to calligraphy and his analysis of traditional art works are the
beginnings of what connect him to literati tradition. In general, Chang compared art
to calligraphy. Each stroke is an element that is building a character or a subject
within the painting which will eventually become a completed piece comprised of
many brush strokes (Silbergeld 165). This is a traditional mindset. Although, Chang s
style is traditional, it is popular in Europe and Chang continued to target his elite
audience. His pieces are a synthesis of Chinese culture and hardly depict western
influence (Silbergeld

Growth Pressures
All companies have moments of growth and decline. As companies age, change in
the form of growth is brought about (Palmer, 2009, p.65). Companies look for the
increases in revenue and ways to create more revenue. When money is being made
growth happens, new jobs are created, expansions begin and technology is
heightened. Last week Time WarnerCable announced that there will be a new CEO,
as the current CEO, Glenn Britt will be retiring. The new CEO, Rob Marcus talked
about the growth pressures concerning Time Warner Cable. Mr. Marcus emphasized
the growth potential of selling data services to businesses, which is the fastest

Flexibility can be a reason for changes in the competitive environment in an
appropriate and timely way. Flexibility comes from managerial capabilities

in today s fast paced and changing world. (Englehardt, 2002)

Time Warner Cable has pride in their reputation. A company s reputation can be

Summary Of Bartolome De Las Casas
BartolomГ© de Las Casas was born in Seville, Spain in 1474. His father joined
Columbus second voyage and in 1502 Las Casas became part of the journey. The
purpose of the father and son voyage was to replace Columbus as a royal governor
of Hispaniola (Las Casas 9). When they arrive Las Casas saw the reality of his
people mistreating, torturing, and enslaving the Taino Indians. He felt that the
Indians did not deserve this kind of treatment and that he begins to write the things
he would see. His book, The Very Brief Relation of the Devastation of the Indies,
vividly describes a more gruesome treatment of the indigenous people ruled by the
Spaniard. Even though it was his people. He wanted to reach the royal administration

He got to do a lot of extraordinary things. Las Casas became a bishop of Chiapas in
Guatemala and began to set sail in America. When he arrives, he issued the
Admonitions and Regulations for the Confessors of Spaniards, the famous
Confesionario, in January 1545, which he denied exoneration to be given to the
individuals who held Indians in encomienda. He later became an influential figure at
court and at the Council of the Indies. He also maintained the teachings of
Aristotelian principles, that the Indians are inferior to the Spaniards just as children
are to adults, women to men, and, indeed, one might even say, as apes are to men
(Castillo 28). Even though his book was somewhat over exaggerated it was not
expected to convey absolute accuracy. All he really wanted was to advocate justice
and have an equal amount of universal human rights for the Indians. Since he became
a bishop, he knows what is right and what is wrong. He was not biased at all when
writing The Very Brief Relation of the Devastation of the Indies but to protect the
innocent souls. Las Casas turned into the early voices for the solidarity of mankind
and the universality of human rights. During his days it appeared that his voice was
solitary, yet his voice still echoes several years after the fact that the poor and
indigenous people relentlessly suffer exploitation and the refusal of fundamental

Influenza Pandemic Stockpile Essay
A lot of critical factors drive an influenza pandemic stockpiling. The costs for having
influenza pandemic stockpile of drugs is relatively lesser when equated with the
amount of chaos and disaster it will be created to humankind worldwide.
Some of the major factors are:
The records and prediction of the world health organization for the number of people
that would be infected by the pandemic in the near future.
The quantity of the rapid response stockpile which will be required to limit and treat
the first people that will be affected
The strategy plans under which the stockpile will be used, for preventive or

the healthcare systems have been challenged to determine the medical supplies that

detailing all the supplies and essential quantities that need to be stockpiled.
Benefits of influenza pandemic stockpile are:
Uncertainty of the demand since we are uncertain of its occurrence, stockpiling the
vaccines and drugs is very important
Considering the development and the availability of the vaccines. The time frame

Logistics play a major role.

Guns And Their Effect On Gun Control
Guns and the ability to use them have been under attack in the United States and
many other places throughout the World. There are groups of people that believe
that as long as we have the right to bear arms that many unprotected people will lose
their lives due to gun violence. There are many trends that come with gunviolence and
where these mass shooting occur, but a main one is that when a place legally
prohibits carrying a weapon then that is where the most gun violence happens.
Where guns are not legally present by law abiding citizens, acts of gun related
violence and crime flourishes. Gun free zones, cities where firearms are banned or
make it extremely difficult for law abiding to own one, or even countries that have
completely prohibited the ownership of firearms have vast amounts of gun
violence. Mass shootings have been a big topic in the news and one of the main
factors that cause these incidents is the location in which they occur. All over the
news you will see shootings that happen in schools, colleges and even in movie
theatres. The one thing that all these places have in common is that students and
moviegoers are not permitted to carry a gun while at these locations. These people
are sitting ducks since criminals know that there will be no one there can stop them
with lethal force. Author Grant Arnold discusses this when he says, Even if you
could somehow prevent all would be school shooters from legally purchasing
firearms, they could still find a way to
Hugo Chavez s President Of Venezuela
Introduction:
Corruption in Venezuela has prevalent since the nation gained independence in
1821. But, corruption rose to unforeseen levels during Hugo Chavez s presidential
era. Hugo Chavez was president of Venezuela for 11 years. There is no exaggerating
the extent of Venezuela s decline and fall. The wealthiest country per capita in Latin
America is sinking deeper and deeper into what must inevitably be bankruptcy, as
everything fiscal goes wrong. (Thomson, 2010) He came into power with the
intentions of making Venezuelaa socialist nation. His impact on the nation of
Venezuela has touched every aspect of the society from economics to the quality
of living. His extreme, radical ideology mirrored those of the Cuban socialist
revolution. Nationalization of assets and equal distribution of wealth among the
nation sounds like an ideal plan, but what went wrong? Was it the decrease in oil
production, investors or private businesses? Or, did the inflation and decreasing
value of the currency finally catch up to the nation? It is important to note that
Chavez pulled his support from the lower and middle class. His neglect of the rich
made it easier for his socialist ideals to merge into Venezuelan society. During Hugo
Chavez s 11 year reign, how did his radical changes affect Venezuela s economy
nationally and globally?
Who is Hugo Chavez?
Hugo Chavez was a unique person to put into power. He was born in a mud hut and
was raised in the living room of his grandmother s hut.
Review Of Literature On Restaurant Service
Literature Review In the past decade, China s demand for catering services
witnesses a double digit rise (HKTDC Research, 2013). According to the restaurant
markets in China report, it states that the demand for restaurant services will
increase continuously at around 9% by 2023 (Reuters, 2014). First, the increasing
demand results from the fast development of society. Nowadays, people are able to
improve the living standard and have more disposable income. Middle level citizens
pursue the quality of life; therefore they patronize various restaurants and have
different experiences. Also, the increase in middle level population with the
purchasing power leads to the rise in eating out frequency (HKTDC Research, 2013).

Living And Learning In A World Of White Noise Summary
In Jennifer Fisher s article Living and Learning in a World of White Noise :
Technology, Youth, and the University the article mentions two opinions of scholars
on either side of a debate, on the impact of technology in youth. The first extreme is,
that the current generation is the dumbest generation made up of illiterate, self
absorbed people, who do not care about the history politics or culture of their society.
The opposition is a romanticized version, where youth are literate intellectuals, who
are connected , publicly minded, sociable and contributing members to the digital

the responsibility of teaching youth to be critical, aware, and interpretive in their

The Stonehenge Thesis Statement
Thesis Statement: The Stonehenge is a complex work of art; as it has been built over
different periods of time representing wide range of ideas and thoughts. It is a
monument that encapsulates the identity of a collective society of an era. It portrays
the belief and value system, status, faith, relationship with the supreme being (god),
and technological knowledge of the citizens of a society that is associated with the
making of the Stonehenge. The large span of time and ambiguity of the society
related to the Stonehenge has made most archeological surveys uncertain and thus,
creating a mystery about, why was a monument containing, just stones weighing
thousands of tones, in a relatively isolated area built? What was the motivations and

General Accepted Principles
Generally Accepted Accounting Principles HCS/571 Generally accepted accounting
principles, better known as (GAAP) discloses statements and reports financial
information dealing with businesses and organizations. They are rules made by the
Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) in which are commonly used in the
health industry to maintain the decisions of the organization. GAAP gives detailed
information to investors about the budget of the organization and their debt. GAAP
includes the most common principles used in the health care setting. They are; the
entity concept, going concern concept, matching principle and cash vs. accrual

Accountants are able to determine the accrual accounting by focusing on the
matching principle (Finkler, Kovner, and Jones, 2007). With the matching
principle organizations and businesses are able to record expenses and revenues
that were accumulated in the same year to match. Accrual accounting is necessary
because it gives a better explanation of expenses accrued annually. Cost principle
The cost principle is anything the business or organization purchases to get. For
instance hospitals need equipment. After buying brand new equipment over the
years it will depreciate in value. The reported value will be known as a net book
value because of the change in cost over time (Finkler, Kovner, and amp;, 2007).
Objective evidence Due to mishaps with the cost principle and inconsistency of the
balance sheet, objective evidence is used. Objective evidence is providing proof
objectively of financially statements and expenses by different groups of individuals
that are expected to agree (Finkler, Kovner, amp; Jones, 2007). If a patient leaves the
hospital with a device or surgery, knowing how much in value the organization spent
on the patient assets can help determine the precise amount spent to receive it.
Materiality Materiality relates to errors or discrepancies within the financial
information. Having a hospital to partner with another hospital and ask for help
financial can affect the partnership if the financial information is unclear
Difference Between Financial Accounting And Cost
Accounting
(iv)Financial Accounting versus Cost Accounting
To understand the concept of cost accounting to the core, it is important to recognise
initially as to what makes cost accounting different from financial accounting.
The major differences between financial accounting and cost accounting are as
follows:
Basis of DistinctionFinancial AccountingCost Accounting
ObjectiveThe objective of financial accounting is to provide information about the
overall financial position and performance of the business organisation. The objective
of cost accounting is to ascertain cost of any particular product or service or activity.
Cost accounting aims at cost controlling and provides information in decision making
process.

Outsiders usually do not have any access to cost records.
Type of information recordedFinancial accounts record only monetary
information.Cost accounts record both financial and non financial information.
Analysis of profitIn financial accounting, profit is disclosed for the whole business. In
cost accounting, profitability is shown for every process, product or operation for
revealing the areas of profitability.
Table 1.1.1: fFinancial aAccounting versus Ccost Accounting
Despite the above differences, both financial and cost accounting work in
agreement and provide the desired data to the organisations. Determination of value
of stock and cost of goods sold is done in cost accounting. This value of stock and
cost of goods sold is used for determining the gross profit, which is a part of financial
accounts. In addition, a financial accountant receives a lot of data from a cost
accountant for the preparation of financial reports. Thus, despite of the differences,
both cost accounting and financial accounting facilitate each other in meeting the
overall goal of the organisation.

If there s just one piece of advice I can give you, it s this: when there s something
you really want, fight for it, don t give up no matter how hopeless it seems. And
when you ve lost hope, ask yourself if in 10 years from now, you re gonna wish you
gave it just one more shot, because the best things in life don t come free, (Meredith

Methamphetamine A Love Story Summary
Methamphetamine: A Love Story Reflection and Analysis
SUMMARY
Methamphetamine: A Love Story is a book documenting the lives of various people
who were immersed in the culture of using, selling, and manufacturing
methamphetamine. Through interviews with over 30 individuals, Rashi Shukla
brings to light the drastic effects that manifested when this drug took over their lives.
Shukla aims to illuminate this dark world, (Shukla 2016, p. 11), and to provide
insight as to why methamphetamine becomes more than just a drug to those involved
with it. Unlike alcohol, tobacco, or marijuana, methamphetamine is not a drug that is
often experimented with by adolescents. But, each participant in Shukla s study had
experimented with these drugs before ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
But, a month later his friend told him to just do a little bit in the morning, again, and
you ll feel fine again, (Shukla 2016, p. 41). Evan stated, I found out that was true.
And if I kept using it, then I would never feel bad...I would just stay high, (Shukla
2016, p. 41). This is what leads users to consume methamphetamine at such an
alarming rate.
With a street value of about $100 per gram, using meth all day, everyday, became
extremely expensive for these individuals. Having constant access to the drug was
crucial to supporting their habits, so many users began distributing meth to ensure
they always had money to keep the party going, (Shukla 2016, p. 56). In addition
to financially supporting their habit of using meth, selling the drug also enabled
them to always have a large quantity in their possession. That way when they
wanted to get high, they never had to go purchase any they just had it. For some
distributors, just selling meth wasn t enough. One interviewee, Mia, explained that
she began by selling to those she knew, and they would help her grow her network.
Well, I m saying like somebody I might deal with...for a while and they d say, Well,
I know somebody, (Shukla 2016, p. 58), so they began selling to more and more
people. If their network grew fast enough, it became much harder to meet the demand
they had; at this point, only
Disadvantages Of Kupipakva Rasayana
Types of Kupipakva rasayana
Basically there are three types of kupipakwa rasayana seen based on the inclusion of
sulphur in the ingredients, the time of corking the mouth of kupi and the site of
obtaining the desired product
Ingredients
mercury + sulphur, e.g. Rasasindoor .
mercury + sulphur + Metal, e.g. Tamrasindoor, Rajatasindoor
mercury + sulphur + Mineral, e.g. Talasindoor, Shilasindoor
Time of corking:
Antardhoom : Corking of the bottle is done at the beginning, which results in
preventing vapours from escaping e.g. Rasasindoor.
Bahirdhoom: Corking is done after sulphur fumes gets subsidised. e.g.
Shilasindoor. Site of finished product:
Kanthastha: The finished product is obtained at the neck of Kupi e.g. Rasasindoor.

Shalaka sanchalana
Shita Shalaka: Particles of ingredients are seen on the rod at the stage of melting
of Kajjali.
Tapta Shalaka: Material present at the mouth of the Kupi burns with a blue flame
on insertion .
Copper coin test
Copper coin placed on the mouth of the bottle exhibits white spots in the presence
of Parad. (Atul D. Sanap;2015 )
Importance of Kupipakva rasayana
Heat given is of very high degree, which makes the formulations laghu, thereby
enabling the drug to penetrate faster and deeper into the tissues. Thus, they enhance
the body s working system which form the basis of treatment in Ayurveda. In
Kupipakva method, Mercury with or without Sulphur is converted in to a suitable
compound, even without being reduced to ashes.
Through this process, the potency and efficacy of mercury, increases in proportion to
the amount of Sulphur burnt . The properties like small drug dose, rapid action,
desired result, long shelf life, palatability made Kupipakva rasayana to occupy
superior position in Ayurvedic therapeutics. Kupipakva rasayana is very much
effective in all VataKapha predominant diseases.( S S
Human Trafficking Crisis Intervention Paper
Introduction At the beginning of the semester, deputy director of the SAFE Center
Laura Ardito described the needs regarding crisis intervention as follows: ...Research
successful crisis intervention models in Maryland such as mental health crisis
intervention, SART (sexual assault response teams), and emergency domestic
violence intervention. Compare these with human trafficking crisis response models
that have been used nationwide. What challenges exist with human trafficking crisis
intervention that may not exist with SARTs and mental health crisis intervention?
What are effective ways law enforcement and survivor services collaborate to provide
human trafficking crisis intervention and other crisis intervention? What can we learn
from the SART/mental health crisis models? Based on the research, how would you
structure a human trafficking crisis intervention model for Prince George s County,
Maryland? ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The paper also discusses how sexual assault, domestic violence, and post traumatic
stress disorder models can be utilized during a crisis. Then, we researched the
services offered and structures of various anti human trafficking organizations across
the country. Next, we examined ways in which communities have been engaged in
assisting crisis interventions based off of various trauma models. Because we found
little empirical research and scholarly discourse on crisis intervention models specific
to Maryland, we found it more beneficial to search nationwide. Finally, the report
discusses trauma, trauma informed organizations (TIOs) and some of their elements,
and uses the Maryland Human Trafficking Task Force as case study for community
collaborations. The report explains the practices that the Maryland Human
Trafficking Task Force and Maryland Police have established for when they intervene
in cases of human
Wind Power in the United States Essay
I personally do not like windy days. However, wind could be helping us more than
we realize. We could be using the wind to produce energy. This is what wind turbines
do and now I will be researching them to determine the physics involved with them
and how they work, their history, along with some statistics from the United States.
Then I will go in depth for the wind turbines of Texas, Washington, and Kansas and
compare them.
The Physics of Wind Turbines
There is physics involved in these wind turbines as they change wind into mechanical
energy and then into electricity. The energy produced depends on the volume of the
air, the density, and the wind speed. The mass per unit time is the mass times the
density times the wind speed or ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As a result, the equation would be p1A1v1 = pAv = p2A2v2 because there is both
the upward and downward values as continuous flow, so they are equal. This can
then be written as P = (p1A1v12 p2A2Вv22)v because the previous equations can be
plugged into the power function so that the actual power that the wind turbines can
produce can be found. The power then becomes the rate of kinetic in minus the
kinetic out or P = ВЅp1A1v13 ВЅp2A2v23 . Afterward, combining this equation with
v = (v1 +v2)/2, which is then the average of the two different values above, gives the
equation of P = (Вј)pA(v13 v23 + v12v2 v1v23). Finally, to find the maximum
power one can simplify this down by actually multiplying the values to arrive at
Pmax = (16/27) ВЅpAv13 . Once again Betz coefficient is used because this allows
us to use the derivatives to simplify the equations. Leaving the equation for the
maximum of power to be Pmax = (16/27ВЅpAv13).
HOW WIND TURBINES WORK
A wind turbine is a machine that converts the wind s kinetic energy into mechanical
energy. If the energy is then directed by machinery it is called a windmill, but if the
energy is converted into electricity it is a wind turbine. Wind turbines are old
technology but used to meet new challenges. There are two main types of wind
turbines: rotating on the vertical axis or on the horizontal axis. The horizontal axis is
the most common. These three bladed turbines have the main rotor shaft and
electrical generator
Security Techniques Essay
Techniques used by organisations
Overall information systems hardware, software, networks and data resources need
to be protected and secured to ensure the effective performance of an organization.
One security technique used by organizations to protect their computer systems
from security threats is encryption this is a method used by organizations to send
data to others it works by using special mathematical algorithms to convert the data
into scrambled code before transmission and when the data is received it is
decoded when an authorized user accesses it. In my opinion, this is very effective
because it stops people from being able to read or use data if they intercepted it as
the is in a scrambled letter and number form. Another ... Show more content on

Anti virus software and Antispyware Software works by identifying suspicious
software based on a list of known threats it then checks the computer against that list
and tells the user if it finds anything on its list. In my opinion, Anti virus software
and Anti Spyware Software is very effective because it stops malicious software
getting onto a computer which could steal or leak sensitive company data. One
security technique is protecting systems with usernames and passwords to access
any equipment, wireless networks and sensitive data should be guarded with
unique usernames and passwords for each member of staff, this is for two reasons
it is an added layer of security so if someone hacks in they have to get passed the
password and it also allows companies to see what exactly their employees are
accessing, also the passwords that are used should be very strong so the
passwords should include numbers, letters and symbols and not have standard
dictionary terms or dates such as birthdays which are easy to guess. In my opinion,
usernames and passwords are very effective because it makes it harder for hackers
to hack in and it allows companies to keep an eye on employees for example they
will be able to see what files they are accessing and if they are a risk to the company.
One more security technique is keeping sensitive data out of the cloud, Cloud
computing offers businesses many
Four Gospels
I completed 100% of the reading assignments for session two and the additional
material regarding the Gospels. The significance of four Gospels is each one had a
specific audience in mind, and they relayed a unique perspective regarding Jesus
various roles. To help explain the importance of audience recognition, an analogy
would be that one would not likely lecture on atheistic principles in a Gospelcentered
class, thus people wrote the Gospels for specific cultures. The Gospel of Matthew
intended to reach the Jews and the church, and Gundry (2012) stated, we must
describe his gospel, then, as Jewish Christian with a universal outlook (p. 190). Jews
were a dominant group of people due to the genealogy of Jesusleading back to
Abraham, making... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In reading the Gospels, definitely there is some redundancy regarding some of
Jesus ministry actions, yet having four accounts of something can help solidify
the accurateness of it. At the same time, each book has a unique personality to it,
no doubt provided by the authors and the Holy Spirit, allowing the privilege of
different perspectives into Jesus ministry. For example, Matthew and Luke s
stories of Jesus birth vary, with each being accurate but offering different details.
On the other hand, Mark and John do not describe these details, and as for John it
could be due to the fact that he presents Jesus as God and God has always existed.
If God wanted humanity to have a broader or more limited view of His Son, the
Gospels would reflect this, but they stand as they are due to God s
Pros And Cons Of Fire Places
The Miracles from the Electric Fire place
Fire places happen to be objects of both functionality and sweetness. Fire places
provide warmth and atmosphere to some certain place in the home. The evolution
from the fire place has had great advances within the the past few years as we view
the ascendancy from the electric fire place.
The following are the pros and cons for electric fire places that needs to be
considered by individuals individuals who may wish to acquire these modern day fire
places.
Simple to install
The electrical fire place is extremely simple to install as in comparison towards the
traditional fire places. You will find models today that may be set up in under an
hour or so. Electric fire places don t actually need additional space because most of
them are mounted against walls. A number of them could be set up in places where
previous fire places are situated.
Atmosphere friendly
As in comparison using the traditional wood and gas fired fire places, the electrical
fire places are relatively more atmosphere friendly. They do not emit any fumes and
extra co2 in to the air simply because they utilize electricity. Electric ... Show more

This inconvenience is solved through the electric fire places given that they usually
include controllers. You will find also models that have a built in temperature
readers. They instantly switch off once the preferred temperatures are arrived at.
Some electric fire place models today have air filtration and fans which distributes
the warmth evenly through the room. It s possible to also isolate the aesthetic worth
of the electrical fire place from the heating function. Throughout summer time (when
fire places aren t actually used), electric fire place proprietors can change from the
heating purpose of the fire place and switch the fake flames onto have the ability to
provide the room a great glow and
Educational Policy Analysis Essay
Educational policies are the rules, guidelines and or boundaries that have shaped my
career as student, a teacher and most recently as an educational administrator.
Throughout my career I have not questioned always questioned the reasons for the
development of these policies. From the readings in this course, I have begun to
examine the how and why of policydevelopment and beginning to understand role the
policy analysishas in the evaluation of educational policies over time. The role of the
state, the role of the individual within the state, changes to political ideologies and the
development of globalization have all directly impacted policy development and the

A What s the problem? approach insists that it is crucial to reflect upon the
representations offered by both those who describe something as a problem and by
those who deny an issue problem status. Its purpose is to create a space to consider
competing constructions of issues addressed in the policy process, and the ways in
which these constructions leave other issues untouched. (Bacchi, 1999, pg. 4)
Throughout this paper, I will be comparing this approach to a number of more
traditional approaches to educational policy analysis such as the rational
comprehensive model, politically rational model (Bacchi, 1999), Critical
Discourse Analysis (Thomas, 2004) and the effects of globalization through
common world education culture and the globally structured agenda for education
(Dale, 2000). Examining the strengths and weakness of these approaches as
compared to the less traditional what s the problem? approach, can help gain a
clearer understanding of educational policy and therefore help us to be (hopefully)
informed members of the policy making and implementation process. Simply
defining policy is a plan of action, is a little too simplistic, the idea of policy must be
explored at a greater depth if policy analysis is to have any real impact. Stephen
Bell, (1993) states that policy exists in a number of formats. This first being policy
as text , policies are the result of a great deal of debate and compromises that

Romeo And Juliet Essay Love. Relationships in romeo and juliet essay

  • 1. Romeo And Juliet Essay Love Crafting an essay on the theme of love in "Romeo and Juliet" may seem deceptively simple, given the play's reputation as a quintessential love story. However, delving into this topic demands a nuanced understanding of Shakespearean language, a profound grasp of the characters' psychology, and an ability to dissect the multifaceted nature of love portrayed in the play. The complexity arises from the layers of love depicted – from the impulsive and passionate love of the titular characters to the familial love strained by ancient grudges. To do justice to the topic, one must navigate the intricacies of Shakespeare's poetic language, unraveling metaphors and similes that characterize the lovers' expressions. Moreover, an in-depth analysis of the characters' motivations, actions, and the consequences of their love is imperative. Addressing the paradoxical aspects of love – its beauty and destructive potential – requires finesse. The essay should explore the juxtaposition of romantic love with themes of violence, fate, and societal expectations. It is a delicate balance to convey the intensity of emotions while considering the broader context of the play. Furthermore, drawing connections to relevant literary and historical contexts adds another layer of difficulty. The essay should not only showcase an understanding of Shakespearean literature but also the socio-cultural backdrop influencing the playwright. In conclusion, composing an essay on the topic of love in "Romeo and Juliet" demands more than a superficial exploration. It necessitates a deep dive into the intricacies of the characters, the poetic nuances of the language, and the broader thematic elements at play. Success in this endeavor lies in the writer's ability to unravel the complexities of love as depicted by Shakespeare and present a thoughtful, well-supported analysis. For those seeking assistance, it's worth noting that HelpWriting.net offers a range of services, including essays on literary topics and more. • 2. The Chrysalids Essay Women have always had an impact on men! Mothers, sisters, aunts, friends, wives, or girlfriends are all part of this group of women, and can change a man in many ways. Similarly in the book, The Chrysalids the protagonist David Strorm deals with three important women in his life, that have a huge impact on him. They all influence his character, and some help him through his journey, and some create problems for him. The three women, Aunt Harriet (David s Aunt), Petra (David s full sister), and Sophie (David s childhood friend), have always helped out David, and supported through harsh times, and thus they have affected David in a big way. Firstly, Aunt Harriet has a big influence on David, because David feels sorrow due to the situation that his aunt is going through. Aunt Harriet is talking to David s father, This is the third time. They ll take my baby away again like they took the others. I can t stand that not again. Henry will turn me out, I think. He ll find another wife, who can give him proper children. There ll be nothing nothing in the world for me nothing. I came here hoping against hope for sympathy and help. Emily is the only person who can help me. I I can see now how foolish I was to hope at all... (Wyndham 71, 72) David thinks about his mother, and how she reacts to this situation, which had a negative impact on David. Later on David could not stop thinking about Aunt Harriet after the incidence, For several nights I dreamed of Aunt Harriet lying
  • 3. Barriers To The Transgender Community In today society the transgender people all over the world will face sever discrimination, stigma, systemic inequality and harassment. One of the many barriers transgender face is data collection on health disparities. Transgender people have been reported to be at higher risk of developing health problems; many have little to no access on health care resulting in low rates of employment and insurance coverage. Human Rights Campaign Foundation reports In a 2012 needs assessment by the Washington D.C. Trans Coalition, about 44 percent of those who identified health as one of their top priorities said that access to transgender sensitive healthcare was their most significant need. Beyond facing barriers to obtaining medically necessary health services and encountering medical professionals who lacked health care competency, the NTDS found that almost 20 percent of respondents had been refused medical care because of bias. The restriction of denying healthcare is unlawful and unfair treatment is creating stigma against transgender people. According District of Columbia on the Human Rights campaign in 2014 reported state legislatures across the country are debating and in some cases passing legislation specifically designed to prohibit transgender people from accessing public bathrooms that correspond with our gender identity, or ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The National Transgender Discrimination Survey (NTDS) found that about 15 percent of respondents were living in severe poverty (making less than $10,000 /year). For transgender people of color, those rates were even higher, with 34 percent of Black and 28 percent of Latina/o respondents reporting a household income of less than $10,000 a year. Leaving people of the transgender community at higher risk of poverty, resulting in homelessness and in engaging in reckless activity such as selling drugs, and
  • 4. Mathematical Order in the Artwork of Leonardo Da Vinci Essay Mathematical Order in the Artwork of Leonardo Da Vinci A large portion of the Italian Renaissance was an obsession with finding order in everything in the universe. Its primary actors sought to show nature as orderly and fundamentally simple. Leonardo Da Vinci, the epitome of the Renaissance Man, was not the first to apply these ideas of geometric order and patterns to art, but he may be the most well known. Da Vinci used mathematical concepts like linear perspective, proportion and geometry in much of his artwork. Leonardo was born on April 15, 1452 in Vinci, a town 50 kilometers west of Florence in what is now Italy. The illegitimate son of a notary, he grew to become one of the most renowned and influential men in the fields of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... By using this method, Da Vinci made the painting appear to be an extension of the room itself (Brizio, 52). It should be noted that The Last Supper is his final piece showing evidence of linear perspective. It was completed in 1498. Of the 14 paintings attributed to Da Vinci before 1500, only four use linear perspective (Zwijnenberg, 130 5). So it is clear he was not bound by any one method, just as he was not bound by any one field of study. Leonardo s most famous painting by far is the Mona Lisa. It is a simple portrait of a young woman whose identity is unknown. She is sitting in front of a mountainous nature scene dressed in the clothing of the time. The most captivating aspect of the mysterious young woman is her very subtle smile. Not only is this a beautiful painting superficially, but also it is filled with many puzzles that art historians have been studying for years. One of the most interesting is the mismatch in the horizon of the background. The left side is significantly lower than the right. So if the observer focuses on the left side of the painting, she appears to be much taller and more erect than if he focuses on the right (WebMuseum). Da Vinci was a master of using perspective to trick the eyes of the observer. Mona Lisa, Leonardo Da Vinci, c. 1506 [3] Leonardo Da Vinci, like other artists of his time, paid particular attention to proportion. In The Last Supper, he sought to create a perfect harmonic

  • 7. Memorial Hall Essay Memorial Hall When walking through Boston s renowned Harvard Yard, one may scope out the mixture of architecture throughout its landscape. From the traditional Memorial Hall influenced by Romanesque churches, to the Carpenter Center for the Visual Arts, Harvard Yard is like a salad bowl of architecture. Perhaps because I am a lover of Victorian style structures, or maybe because of its interior s beauty and richness, Memorial Hall intrigued my interest most of all. Memorial Hall, which was originally a civil war monument, is now a theater and student union for Harvard University. The 19th century architects Robert Ware and Henry Van Brunt designed this building to resemble the Victorian Gothic Romanesque churches of the time. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This window also allows a colorful light inside the memorial of the building. The interior of Memorial Hall differs from the gothic structures that the building resembles from the outside. While gothic structures were composed mostly of stone, Memorial Hall is decorated with walnut. The vaulting, which traditionally would be made of stone, is made of wood. There is a repeated use of the rosette, trefoil, quatrefoil, and cross motifs that help connect the exterior with the interior of the building. These details are found in the wood carvings of Sanders Theater, the great transept doors, the sandstone frieze that surrounds the exterior, the columns and wrought iron gates, the buttress, the stained glass windows, and the chandeliers. Also there is ornamental ironwork that outlines the roof if Sanders Theater and crowns the four subsidiary towers. Another feature of Memorial Hall that captures the mood of its exterior is the layout of the remaining original furnishings throughout the building. The materials used to construct the interior and exterior of Memorial Hall create a defined space in which the building captivates. When I walked through Memorial Hall I became instantly drawn into the structure. The marble floors, the dark wood moldings, and the gold, maroon, and green d #233;cor are qualities
  • 8. Fantastic Four Essay Marvel s Fantastic Four debuted in 61 as a superhero comic book series that zeroed in on the flawed loving and familial bond shared among its characters. Given that this context and the comic book series main focus on the problems of human existence hindered with their crimefighting capabilities (Genter 2007), it s hard to read the significance of matriarch Susan Sue Storm (Invisible Girl then later dubbed as Invisible Woman) far from of the understandings of the second wave feminism. She is a wife to Reed Richards (Mister Fantastic), an older sister to Johnny Storm (the Human Torch), and a colleague and caretaker to Ben Grimm (the Thing), Invisible Woman s power (the ability to become invisible) could be seen as a message on the changing cultural visibility of women s rights in the 60s. Laura Mattoon D Amore (2008) purposed that Sue Storm figuratively expressed the 50s suburban housewife, under compensated and unnoticed of all her victories, invisible and unappreciated in a world of and for men. Following these notions within Fantastic Fourcomic books through the 60s, Laura Mattoon D Amore explains that Invisible Woman s power of invisibility is seen as both literally and symbolically, reflecting and averting the time period s gender norms. Laura Mattoon D Amore shows this change from reflection to deflection in 64 s Fantastic Four #22, in which Invisible Woman learns to create force fields, staying visible as she undergoes invisibility onto other characters.
  • 9. Foreshadowing In Oedipus The King Foreshadowing is a tool used by playwrights and authors of all types as a means to direct the audience into a path of questioning and intrigue throughout the course of a novel or play. After reading both of these theatrical works, it struck me just how often I dismiss/fail to acknowledge the big red flags stuck within the ground of the text and thus proceed to give myself incredibly undeserved credit at the end of every reading for having figured out what was going to happen all by myself . Therefore, I have taken it upon myself to examine the importance of this technique in order to credit the playwrights and show how their use of foreshadowing creates tension, credibility and a specific atmosphere in both of their fictitious worlds. It is important to note the way in which the provision of knowledge in this play and the lack of it in Oedipus the King are both capable of maintaining the curiosity of a spectator. However, I would also like to point out that each tactic is suited to the genre of the play i.e. you want to keep the audience informed as to what is going on in a comedy however, you want to maintain the eeriness that comes along with not knowing what will happen next in a

Some people believe wealth should be left to family, left for public services, or become the property of others. Others believe that people should not have excess wealth, resulting in non existent class distinctions. An alternative view is that wealthis not distributed; instead, the wealthy continue to grow wealthier while those in poverty can not escape it and fall further into a life of poverty. The beliefs discussed above come from three different writers. Those writers include Andrew Carnegie, Karl Marx, and Robert B. Reich. This solution would help eliminate poverty and create equality among everyone in society. Marx lists ten different things that must be done in order to accomplish the elimination of class distinctions. One of the demands states, Abolition of all right of inheritance (Marx 474). This demand in particular completely disagrees with Andrew Carnegie s belief that wealth can be left to the family after death. Another way to eliminate the wealthy class, according to Marx, is to force the wealthy to give their land to the state. Communism also demands that all children in public schools receive free education (Marx 474). By allowing all children to receive the same education, the children raised in poverty have been given a chance at working their way out. By giving these children that opportunity, a step has been taken forward in eliminating the class of poverty because it finally gives them a chance in getting out of poverty and having the same lives as others with more wealth than them. It s always aspiring to educate one s self on new resources, information and newly developed theories. This is more than a career; this is a decision that makes one question the direction of their moral compass. Philosopher Mortimer Adler states, Moral virtues are like the arts or skills, they are habits formed by repeated acts. Simply put values are a measure of what is paramount and just. When we practice values that are congruent, we develop and put into practice the skills outlined in the foundations of social work. Ethics are the specific standards of values that social workers must follow. They are the likeness of the values in the way they mirror principles. Charles Levy once said in a lecture that social workers in a strategic position to affect others and their interest, what are value based aspirations affecting the conduct of people in general are, for social workers, enforceable imperatives. The most common is classified as simple or mild myopia. High myopia is a severe form of myopia which affects about 2% of the population. Another form of severe and rare myopia is degenerative myopia, which begins in early childhood and increases the risk of degenerative changes. Myopia occurs when the eyeball is too long or when the cornea is too curved for the length of the eyeball which causes the light rays to focus in front of the retina. This renders a person s vision to be limited to under 6 meters. Not being able to see objects that are further than 6 meters creates problems for humans when performing daily tasks. To combat this issue, most people use a form of vision correction such as glasses or contact lenses while others get surgery. • 22. The Scripture God s Power Theology Proper From the opening of Scripture God s power is on display as he creates ex nihilo, but before such an awesome display can even be considered, one must contemplate that God is. Numerous creeds throughout history have begun with the affirmation, I believe in God. The existence of God is seen in the intricate designs and the complexity of the universe, but this alone cannot fully establish the existence of the Goddescribed and revealed to us in Scripture. The biblical God is more than just a creator of a deistic universe; his power extends beyond. Although he is sometimes spoken of in anthropomorphic terms, God is spirit (John 4:24). He does not have a spirit as man does; he is pure spirit. No one has seen God nor can see him with the physical eye (2 Tim 6:16). A spirit has no flesh and bones (Luke 24:39). God as spirit has great implications in the understanding of who God is and the worship we offer. In the above referenced verse, John goes on to say that those who worship God must do so in spirit and in truth; the nature of God determines how he is served. (FOOTNOTE FERGUESON, 213 LOGOS) This will be discussed at greater length in a later section. Therefore, despite the primarily masculine language used in both the Old and New Testaments, God has no gender. This truth has spawned an increased critique of the way God is discussed and portrayed in modern society and has brought up concerns about linguistics and how Scripture is interpreted through the

In the novel, the university fails to teach its students real information and real skills, for example, the pathetic attempt at teaching Hitler studies, where critical thinking and analysis are replaced with useless facts, such as his relationship with his mother. Universities have the responsibility of teaching youth to be critical, aware, and interpretive in their engagements with technology , this is becoming increasingly important to keep white noise from taking our society towards a virtual

It is a monument that encapsulates the identity of a collective society of an era. It portrays the belief and value system, status, faith, relationship with the supreme being (god), and technological knowledge of the citizens of a society that is associated with the making of the Stonehenge. GAAP gives detailed information to investors about the budget of the organization and their debt. GAAP includes the most common principles used in the health care setting. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Accountants are able to determine the accrual accounting by focusing on the matching principle (Finkler, Kovner, and Jones, 2007). With the matching principle organizations and businesses are able to record expenses and revenues that were accumulated in the same year to match. Accrual accounting is necessary because it gives a better explanation of expenses accrued annually. Cost principle The cost principle is anything the business or organization purchases to get. For instance hospitals need equipment. After buying brand new equipment over the years it will depreciate in value. The reported value will be known as a net book value because of the change in cost over time (Finkler, Kovner, and amp;, 2007). Objective evidence Due to mishaps with the cost principle and inconsistency of the balance sheet, objective evidence is used. Objective evidence is providing proof objectively of financially statements and expenses by different groups of individuals that are expected to agree (Finkler, Kovner, amp; Jones, 2007). If a patient leaves the hospital with a device or surgery, knowing how much in value the organization spent on the patient assets can help determine the precise amount spent to receive it. Materiality Materiality relates to errors or discrepancies within the financial information. Having a hospital to partner with another hospital and ask for help financial can affect the partnership if the financial information is unclear

This is what wind turbines do and now I will be researching them to determine the physics involved with them and how they work, their history, along with some statistics from the United States. Then I will go in depth for the wind turbines of Texas, Washington, and Kansas and compare them. The Physics of Wind Turbines There is physics involved in these wind turbines as they change wind into mechanical energy and then into electricity. The energy produced depends on the volume of the air, the density, and the wind speed. The mass per unit time is the mass times the density times the wind speed or ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As a result, the equation would be p1A1v1 = pAv = p2A2v2 because there is both the upward and downward values as continuous flow, so they are equal. This can then be written as P = (p1A1v12 p2A2Вv22)v because the previous equations can be plugged into the power function so that the actual power that the wind turbines can produce can be found. The power then becomes the rate of kinetic in minus the kinetic out or P = ВЅp1A1v13 ВЅp2A2v23 . Afterward, combining this equation with v = (v1 +v2)/2, which is then the average of the two different values above, gives the equation of P = (Вј)pA(v13 v23 + v12v2 v1v23). Finally, to find the maximum power one can simplify this down by actually multiplying the values to arrive at Pmax = (16/27) ВЅpAv13 . Once again Betz coefficient is used because this allows us to use the derivatives to simplify the equations. Leaving the equation for the maximum of power to be Pmax = (16/27ВЅpAv13). HOW WIND TURBINES WORK A wind turbine is a machine that converts the wind s kinetic energy into mechanical energy. If the energy is then directed by machinery it is called a windmill, but if the energy is converted into electricity it is a wind turbine. Wind turbines are old technology but used to meet new challenges. There are two main types of wind turbines: rotating on the vertical axis or on the horizontal axis. The horizontal axis is the most common. These three bladed turbines have the main rotor shaft and electrical generator

In my opinion, usernames and passwords are very effective because it makes it harder for hackers to hack in and it allows companies to keep an eye on employees for example they will be able to see what files they are accessing and if they are a risk to the company. One more security technique is keeping sensitive data out of the cloud, Cloud computing offers businesses many

A What s the problem? approach insists that it is crucial to reflect upon the representations offered by both those who describe something as a problem and by those who deny an issue problem status. Its purpose is to create a space to consider competing constructions of issues addressed in the policy process, and the ways in which these constructions leave other issues untouched. (Bacchi, 1999, pg. 4) Throughout this paper, I will be comparing this approach to a number of more traditional approaches to educational policy analysis such as the rational comprehensive model, politically rational model (Bacchi, 1999), Critical Discourse Analysis (Thomas, 2004) and the effects of globalization through common world education culture and the globally structured agenda for education (Dale, 2000). Examining the strengths and weakness of these approaches as compared to the less traditional what s the problem? approach, can help gain a clearer understanding of educational policy and therefore help us to be (hopefully) informed members of the policy making and implementation process. Simply defining policy is a plan of action, is a little too simplistic, the idea of policy must be explored at a greater depth if policy analysis is to have any real impact.
