Rehabilitation Field Observation Report
This week I was assigned to the East Campus Rehabilitation Center on Thursday, October 27, 2016
from 7:30AM to 12:00PM. I was assigned to the outpatient portion of the rehabilitation center.
When I was there many client were admitted because they were in need of neurological
rehabilitation. The client s that I met were at the rehabilitation center because of a spinal cord
injury, a stroke, and cancer of the throat. Each of these client s had different needs that were being
met by the rehabilitation team. I had the opportunity to observe the different treatments that were
utilized for each of their own different needs. For instance, the client that had throat cancer, his
physical therapy session was devoted to helping him to get accustomed to

Since moving in with Manning, Victoria had become at times incontinent of urine and a began
to spend her nights in an unheated and unlit bathroom. Very little is known about the last four
months of Victoria s life. Victoria continued to be forced to sleep in the bath, and was tied up
inside a black plastic sack. By the beginning of 2000 Victoria was also being given her food on a
piece of plastic in the bathroom and because her hands were tied up she was forced to eat it like
a dog. She was abused and tortured there in many different ways. By 19 February 2000 Victoria

suffering from hypothermia, multiple organ failure and malnutrition, to the local Universal

emergency department at North Middlesex Hospital, from where she was then transferred to the
intensive care unit at St Mary s Hospital. Victoria died the following day at 3:15pm local time.
The pathologist who examined her body noted 128 separate injuries and scars on her body, and
described it as the worst case of child abuse she had ever seen. Victoria had been burnt with
cigarettes, tied up for periods of longer than 24 hours, and hit with bike chains, hammers and wires.
