Carbon Dioxide And Its Effect On The Environment
1. A
Carbon dioxide (CO2) absorbs energy from the sun, then releases it back into earth; it is the second
largest greenhouse gas after water vapour. Carbon dioxide releases out a harmful gas, which is
dissolved out to the atmosphere determined by temperature. However CO2 is not one of the main
impulsive forces in causing climate shifts, but as the climate cools the concentration of CO2 decreases
this then has a further cooling effect. Causing this irregular rise and fall in CO2 levels is the shift
where carbon moves between the atmosphere, the earths crust and the ocean. Furthermore, the rapid
change of seasons also has an effect in how CO2 levels act, as such in winter the saturation levels in
the ocean increases. This then influences the CO2 levels to dissolve in the ocean, resulting to a rise in
sea levels and causes such as loss of biodiversity.
Carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases are visible to radiation that delivers the sun s energy to the
earth. Different types of radiation influence the temperature occurrence in carbon dioxide; this is
because the molecules found in the air by carbon dioxide absorb infrared radiation. Carbon dioxide
takes up a big amount of infrared radiation this is due to the process in how the gas prevents its escape
into space making radiation warm up the atmosphere. An example that we can relate to this matter is
how quickly a closed up car heats up under the summer sun. This is similarly the case of carbon
dioxide, like with the

The World Wide Web Is A Better Source For Students...
The world wide web is growing immensely and it is filled with a plethora of information that is easily
accessible to anyone and everyone with an internet capable device. Students today are constantly
glued to technology, whether it is for leisure purposes or school purposes, thus making them
susceptible to reading and gathering accurate as well as false information from the internet. Many
students do not know how to navigate the web effectively or will not check a source s authority when
doing research, and as a result, they gather faulty information. The fact that students can easily access
information on the web when doing research, it is imperative for teachers to teach students how to
properly evaluate websites in order to assure that they are gathering authentic information from
credible sources. There are certain criteria educators and students can use in order to confirm the
authenticity of a website. In this paper, I used ten of Kathy Schrock s criteria to evaluate two websites
to determine which is a better source for students researching information on the topic The Human
Body. The criteria used are underlined and written in bold, and below each criterion will be a
summary of my evaluation of both websites. This paper will conclude which website is better for the
research.
Authority
A site should enable the user to easily find out about the author. Questions we could ask ourselves are:
is the author a well regarded name that I recognize, does their online

Dave Grohl Research Paper
Who I admire: Dave Grohl Many people do not realize what it means to be a musician, much less a
famous musician. You need to be smart, talented and charasmatic. Dave grohl has achieved all three of
these things. He has completed the goals of many young men, including myself. Dave has been in
many successful bands and written and performed multiple hit songs. Dave Grohl Has many
admirable attributes but considering my time constraints, I will only touch a few of them. The first
amazing that I will discuss is the fact that he can write songs. General audiences do not realize how
difficult it is to write songs. You must first come up with a part. After that extenuating process you
have to make other parts that match the original part. Dave has such amazing talent that he writes most
of the parts to his songs. The first album of his newest band(Foo Fighters) was all written, ... Show

Dave plays drums, guitar, bass guitar, and basically anything you put in front of him. The craziest part
about him being able to play all of these instruments is that he plays them just as well, if not better,
than someone who focuses solely on one one instrument. He can even sing! Dave is the lead singer
and plays guitar for his Current band The Foo Fighters . I can not think of another person that can play
as well or as many instruments as Dave Grohl. My final, and perhaps my favorite part about Dave, is
How many bands he has been in. Dave Grohl has been in some of my favorite bands including Foo
Fighters , Queens of the Stone Age , and ,the most famous, Nirvana . The fact that he was in such
famous and successful bands shows why many people respect and admire him. Dave was first well
known for being in a massive band called Nirvana . Most artists are famous for one band and one band
only. However, Dave continued after that. He founded a band in 1994 which is still pumping out hit

Violent Violence
when counties failed in this regard the state was often hesitant or unable to act as a final third party
enforcer. This paper provides an answer to the puzzle of why feud violence in Eastern Kentucky
spiked in the latter half of the 19th century. Previous explanations, such as Altina Waller s account of
the Hatfield/McCoy Feud (Waller, 1998) have analyzed feud violence from a historical perspective.
This paper will bring the tools of economics and rational choice approaches to bear on the problem.
The analysis of violence using economic logic is not novel. Violent conflict, though costly and
perhaps even socially inefficient, can still be individually rational for the parties involved (Tullock
2003, p. 4.) Previous work has also explored ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Section 2 will explore economic changes in Eastern Kentucky, provide background on basic
demographic details, and discuss changes in state and county government implemented by the 1850
Constitutional convention. Section 3 will discuss the role third parties traditionally play in contract
enforcement, how these can fail, and non state solutions that can emerge to solve problems of
governance. Section 4 seeks to ties the previous two sections together and apply them to Eastern
Kentucky in the 19th century. Section 5 concludes. 3 2 Eastern Kentucky, 1850 1900 2.2 Geography
and Transportation Eastern Kentucky2 still presents an imposing landscape. Geographically, the
region is near totally ensconced by the Appalachian Mountain range, which runs from Alabama to
Maine. Mountains, rocky hills, and forests dominate the terrain. Outside of the Huntington Ashland
Metropolitan area, most of the countryside is quite rural. Small towns dot the region, but there is
relatively little else. Census and economic data from 1850 and 1860 depict a region that was still very
much unexplored and underdeveloped. Transportation in the state was limited, meaning that vast
portions of it were isolated and cut off from the cultural and economic hubs of Lexington, Louisville,
and the capital city of Frankfort. This relative isolation contributed to the importance of government at
the county

US Action During the Cold War
The United States from the Cold War and into the Global War on Terrorism (GWOT) continues to face
challenges in translating military might into political desires due to its obsession with raising an army,
electing politicians and assembling a diplomatic corp that continue to gravitate towards State to State
engagements that if not rectified could lead to substantial delays in fighting terrorism and non terrorist
adversaries or worse total failure of the United States Military s ability to properly carry out it s
politicians objectives due to being blindsided. Although focusing on State to State actions met
President Reagan s intent of bringing down the Iron Curtain through the build up of military might,
enhanced nuclear power and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The very politicians and diplomats that enable the new Domocratic state will also limit the military to
the minimum necessary. According to Dr. Gardner in his lecture Clausewitz believed the maximum
military effort would be based on a combination of diplomacy and the amount of military force to
adequately achieve it . I contend that our nations focus on fighting as a State and forming States that
resemble ours those very same politicians and diplomats would be hesitant to due what is truly needed
to stop a negative force such as Communism or Terrorism. After Desert Storm Saddam Hussein was
allowed to stay in power from 1991 till 2003 when the US led forces to remove him from power
(Hawkins pg 309). This apprehension to take difinitive action is not unique to the United States, but as
Hawkins points out was evident in the Roman Empire some 1,300 years ago when it shifted from
moderations(limited war) to full war. F.J. Bing West highlights the need to go All in versus achieve the
maximum with minimal cost which is the American position of late (pg 393). State to State
engagements are suited for Full Wars, but the current GWOT is being fought as a limited war
primarily in 3 4 states globally.

American s tendency to view the world through their own lens. Post Cold war ethnic, religious and

The Impact Of Social Worker On Australian Society
The role of the Social worker is varied as it involves the facilitation of change and empowerment of
the individual through social, cultural and environmental influences. Between 1910 and 1970, the role
of the social worker was significant due to the impact of the Stolen Generation on Australian society.
The Stolen Generation was a dark period in the Australian history where many Aboriginal and Torres
Strait Islander children were often taken without consent from their homes and families by the
government, police and welfare authorities. The children were taken from their homes in order to try
to civilize them by assimilation into white society (McCarthy 2000). The impacts of this period often
resulted in severe psychological consequences for the children, the loss of identity, social isolation,
depression, alcohol abuse and an increased level of violence. The role of the Social Worker was
significant during this period as they were often involved with removing children from their homes
and were also required to participate in the reconciliation process to improve the relationships between
Indigenous peoples and the wider Australian community. One of the lasting effects of this practice is
the distrust of indigenous people towards the social welfare profession. Traditionally, Social Workers
are seen as human rights workers who advocate for the people to ensure equal access to all services by
ensuring services are in place to meet human rights such as the right to

Medea as Woman, Hero and God in Euripides Play Essay
Medea as Woman, Hero and God
In Euripides play the title role and focus of the play is the foreign witch Medea. Treated differently
through the play by different people and at different times, she adapts and changes her character,
finally triumphing over her hated husband Jason. She can feasibly be seen as a mortal woman,
Aristotle s tragic hero figure and even as an exulted goddess.
Medea s identity as a weak woman is emphasised at the very start of the play. It is made very clear
that she has come to misfortune through no fault of her own and is powerless in her problem ( her
world has turned to enmity ). Being unable to change her situation is an example of her portrayal as a
weak woman figure. We are told that she has been ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, once again though, we see this sharpness behind her veil of weakness ( no bloodier spirit ).
With this said though, it is not a murderous, maniacal rage. She makes clear reference to the fact that
she is part of the group of wretched women and that she is simply striking back as a woman scorned .
When Creon comes on the stage, she continues with the pitiable appearance, begging ( I kneel to you,
I beseech you ). She tries to persuade Creon that he has no threat from her, using the fact that she is a
woman to make him disregard her power ( I m in no position a woman to wrong a king ). However,
after this scene is where the image of Medea as a feeble woman ends. The Chorus indicate their pity
and that Medea s plight touches our hearts . But at this point, Medea becomes the murderous and
dangerous woman that will kill her children and cackle with glee at the thought of Glauce s death. She
declares that she manipulated Creon, fawning on him to gain my purpose . She still holds our pity but
not in the same intensity (until eventually she finally loses pity almost completely in her double
infanticide).
As a mother, Medea on the surface is not the best, as she eventually kills her children, ignoring their
pleas for mercy ( Mother, don t kill us ). However, we must not ignore the heartache and pain that
Medea endures in killing them. It takes incredible conviction to carry it out ( parted from you, my life
will be all pain and

Obesity And The United State Of America
Obesity in United State of America. One can imagine how obesity is taking over the world s
population, so rapidly and it is obvious that the United States of America has high rates of Obesity.
Obesity, also known as overweight, is a serious epidemic disease that can cause harm to the systems of
the body including the heart. Obesity is the biggest threat to the United State of America s population
and something urgent has to be done, otherwise our future generation is at stake. the parent of U.S
kids should be aware that obesity is affecting health, has national consequences, and lead to
depression in the victims. If something is not done fast to alter this misfortune, there is a high
percentage that our future generation is at stake. Moreover, Obesity is a vital root of many life
threatening diseases, like diabetes type 2, high blood pressure and even strokes. Most people who are
obese are often associated with type 2 diabetes because obesity can cause resistance to insulin that
produces the hormone to regulate sugar in the blood. Malnutrition motivates obesity whereby
producing a lot of cholesterol, which closes up the bloodstream in the body, causing high blood
pressure the process by which the heart is not able to pump the blood needed by the body. All this
threaten the life of Americans and can lead to early death. Most obese Americans seem as if they do
not care about what they eat nor drink. Their greatest concern about what they consume is fast food

Training For A Training Program
A training program can be used to effectively improve the ability of an interviewer to conduct more
accurate interviews with job candidates. To attain this accuracy, it is important to base a training
program on well researched and empirical data. In developing a possible program for training
interviewers, it will be necessary to discuss some of the elements that can be used for a training
program. Additionally, training programs will need to be comprised of key components and a solid
process to ensure the program is effective. However, a training program is only as successful as the
results it produces. Therefore, the last section will explore ways to evaluate the effectiveness of a
training program. Training Program Elements and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Each of these elements play an important role in the overall training process and will serve to assist
interviewers in achieving more consistent ratings. Training is important because interviewers gain
very little useful information from their day to day interviewing experiences (Cascio Aguinis, 2011).
Minimal gains from going through multiple interviews makes sense, since interviewers would have
nothing to compare their interviewing experiences to, or have any consistent method to learn more
effective ways of conducting interviews and assigning ratings. Furthermore, training is necessary for
interviewers to improve their skills, rather than perpetuate poor ones, and is best when experience
combines with high levels of cognitive complexity (Cascio Aguinis, 2011). Therefore, it is critical for
an interviewer training program to have elements like learning and analysis, which adds cognitive
complexity by providing a base of information and clear examples for participants to observe. Overall,
experience alone will not suffice in allowing improvements to occur for an interviewer, and training is
necessary to improve decision making and accuracy during interviews. Key Components As
mentioned previously, a key component when conducting a training program is to clearly define the
purpose of the training. The role of interviewers is to accurately rate their perceptions of an applicant
and evaluate those perceptions in relation to job requirements, as outlined by a job

The other standards which are used in mobile phones are 1st generation, 2nd generation, 3rd
generation, 4th generation, and LTE. The latest upcoming technology is the 5th generation. We can
use the Wi Fi in many devices like personal laptops, smartphones, computers etc. To obtain a wireless
network computer or any equipment should have wireless network interface controller. These signals
are transferred through a single radio frequency channel. By using multiple overlapping access points
the wireless signals can the transferred to many kilometers. While coming to the security the Wi Fi has
a much less security than wired networks. From the latest technology we have many protocols to get a
secured network. Wi Fi can be used in various modes such as home group, public areas and also in
business group. To access the Wi Fi in various forms we use routers such as digital subscriber router,
cable modem with the help of Wi Fi access point. This technology became such an important
invention for all over the world.

may attempt to obtain benefits that a tax treaty grants to a resident of that State. These arrangements
are generally referred to as treaty shopping . Treaty shopping cases typically involve persons who are
residents of third States attempting to access indirectly the benefits of a treaty between two

The OECD has already analyzed the issue of bargain shopping in various settings:
 The idea of beneficial owner was presented in the Model in 1977 keeping in mind the end goal to
manage basic settlement shopping circumstances where salary is paid to a middle person inhabitant of
an arrangement nation who isn t dealt with as the proprietor of that pay for charge purposes, (for
example, an operator or candidate). In the meantime, a short new area on Ill advised Use of the
Convention (which included two cases of bargain shopping) was included to the Commentary Art. 1

and of different methods for managing them .

Alcoholics Anonymous was founded in 1935 in Akron Ohio by Dr.Bob and Bill. They created this
organization because they were alcoholics trying to get over their addiction at the time, they wanted to

Also; Citigroup, Inc. another competitor for the GE Company made a total of $64.95 billion in 2011,
and when we compare it with GE and SI its earnings where even less in the same year, making
General Electric a leader in the industry. With this valuable information GE management can analyze
its competitor s financial statements results and from there they can evaluate their faults and create
new ways to increase their annuals earnings and secure their place as one of leading companies in
their industry. Another way GE can go forward in the industry is by adapting its services and products
to other countries that need them. To maintain its leading position GE posses Advance Technology
Programs witch conduct researches in nanotechnology, molecular medicine, energy conversion,
advance propulsion, sustainable energy and organic electronics (General Electric Company, 2012).
One of the advance technologies that GE and SI have in common is the research in molecular imaging
and diagnosis; GE trying to create new tools for physicians so in the future they could better and faster
diagnose person s diseases with their own molecular makeup (Ciabuschi, 2005). Siemens Ag on the
other hand is trying to improve MRI s so they can create a single continuous move which will result in
faster scanners and increase image quality and they are also doing researches in the molecular
department. On the other hand GE and

Explain The Three Rites Of Passage
1. The three main rites of passage (Lenkeit 2012: 11) are puberty, childhood, and death. As people go
through this arc of life social positions change and we are put into certain parts in life. This because
life changes and people go through bodily and physical change throughout life. Rites of passage
allows an individual to participate but there is also a group to go with that person in which are close to
the individual. This means anything that happen to there one friend and they die or get hurt, it effects
them. For example, cultures have types of rituals (Lenkeit 2012: 11) where there is a celebration of
life and when life ends we have a ceremony for the death of the person who meant something to us. It
s a way of coming to peace and honoring them.
2. Supernatural belief (Lenkeit 2012: 11) is defined as the belief that transcends the observable,
natural world. So, this has to do with religion and what we get out of it. Supernatural forces (Lenkeit
2012:11) are the unseen powers that one possesses. These forces go against nature and beyond ...

Supernatural beings (Lenkeit 2012: 11) are those such as God s and Goddesses, Souls, Ghosts,

abilities that can go beyond us. For all we know they are dwelling in the world to finish something and
were not ready to leave, at least this is what society says. There have been multiple encounters that
people have experienced. But, there are also ways to fool others as well into thinking something is
supernatural. Magic (Lenkeit 2012: 11) for example, is a technique to manipulate supernatural forces
and beings. Which leads us to another example of a supernatural being, witches. The Salem witch
trials is one of the most remembered events in time. Women were accused for using witchcraft , or,
magic. For practicing it they were killed and cast out by people. These accusations from people were
probably false and people

insecurity is that Cohn is one of the few men in the story who is revealed to not be a veteran of the

(Hemingway, 12). To compensate for his self consciousness, he became the middleweight boxing

Zora Neale Hurston Essay
On March 21, 1924, the National Urban League, spearheaded by Charles Johnson, held a dinner to
introduce new literary talent to New York City s black community. This dinner party resulted in the
Survey Graphic, a magazine whose attention was upon social and cultural pluralism, to publish a
special Harlem edition, which would feature the works of Harlem s black writers and was to be edited
by Alain Locke. Locke, a literary scholar, black philosopher, professor and authority on black culture,
later expanded the Harlem special edition of the Survey Graphic into and anthology he titled The New

writing, would shape her views on race. The wonderful life in utopian Eatonville was lost after the
death of her mother in 1904, which led the young Zora Neale Hurston away from the halls of
academics and into domestics. Her father quickly remarried a woman that Hurston did not like and
had left the household at age 14, first caring after her brother s children and later as a domestic servant

Arguments on Why Pitbulls Should Be Banned
Arguments for pit bull should be banned
People generally want Pit Bulls and other Bully breeds banned for 2 main reasons:
1. Thugs who need a tough dog to feel tough intentionally doing everything they can to make their
dogs mean. This includes, beating, starving, baiting, feeding weird crap like gunpowder....They also
never socialize, train, or neuter their dogs. This intentionally creates a dog that is both dog and human
aggressive and will most likely kill other pets and end up being euthanized for biting someone.
2. Well intentioned but irresponsible people who refuse to admit that their dog might be aggressive
toward other animals. Even though the Pit Bull breed was created to fight combining the Bulldog s

from a party that they did not want any part of to begin with. Philip begins to scream at the most
random of times, and Louis jumps into the air and begins to let out a screech full of fear. Louis pats
Philip on the shoulder and screams Dude what the heck is wrong with you! Philip begins to point at a

Comparing Moral Theories Of Kant And J. S. Mill
Throughout this paper, I will contrast and compare two moral theories in attempt to uncover what one
provides a better argument and can be applied as a universal moral code. The two moral theorists
Immanuel Kant and J.S Mill have created two distinctly different theories on morality and how to
develop a universal moral code. Both theories focus on intentions and consequences. Kant believes
that the intentions and reasons of our actions can be measured and defined as morally correct, where
as Mill believes that our intentions really play no role in morality, and that we should focus on the
consequences and outcomes of our actions to evoke the most happiness for the most people. Even
though both philosophers make incredibly different ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Even though Kant does acknowledge that behaviour and actions that produce a good outcome or
consequence is in fact aligned with morality, he believes if you do anything that benefits you is wrong.
As a personal example, I volunteer and produce good actions because not only do I know it is right, or
the good thing to do, but it gives me a sense of purpose. I feel good putting people before myself.
Some people will do nice things for others because it makes them feel good as well. In my opinion, if
people love to help others and act in ethically sound ways because it gives them a feeling of approval,
and the action is causing a positive consequence, that should be moral. It should be a wonderful thing
that mankind can actually have feel good chemicals run through there body when assisting humanity.
Kant should take this into consideration that if we feel good acting in good ways, it is more likely to
be sustainable.
John Stuart Mill and Jeremy Bentham have been recognized as the founders of Utilitarianism.
Contrary to Kant s moral theories, Utilitarian s would disagree with most of Kant s theory. While Kant
believed that it is the intention of the action that should be recognized as moral or unmoral, J.S Mill
and Bentham would say that it is in fact the outcome of said action that determines morality.

Queen vs. Dudley and Stephens
Regina v. Dudley and Stephens
There have been many criminal cases in the history, which brought controversy, whether murder could
be justified under different circumstances. One of the famous cases tells a story of four shipwrecked
men, which were lost in the high seas. The story was named The Lifeboat Case , regarding the tragic
and life changing decision that was made in extreme circumstance. Four seamen, Thomas Dudley,
Edward Stephens, Brooks and seventeen year old Richard Parker were in high seas and due to the
storm that hit them very bad, they had to put themselves into an open boat. They did not have any

As the ship started to sink, men barely managed to get into a lifeboat and by the time they were trying
to save their lives, all of supplies of water and food were gone. Professor Teuber clarifies it, saying:
Unfortunately, the emergency supply of water that they had hastily thrown overboard next to the
dinghy was swept away by the waves (people.brandeis.edu). Since Teuber acknowledged that Dudley
was the captain of the ship, it might also be the reason of why all decisions were made by Dudley. He
might have felt himself responsible for men s life and tried to save as much as he could, by sacrificing
one. One of the details Teuber mentioned was that the rest of seamen were rescued by a German boat,
called Montezuma , which was heading home from South America. As soon as they delivered men to
Falmouth and started questioning them, it was clear that they have committed a crime. However,
Brook s name wasn t mentioned as one of the prisoners throughout the story. And Teuber reveals the
reason, saying: The upright Dudley immediately insisted that he was the ringleader and that Brooks
was completely innocent (people.brandeis.edu). So that s why Brooks played as a prosecution s
witness. The most remarkable situation in this case, was the peace between Dudley and the Richard s
brother Daniel Parker. He even came to court and shook Dudley s hand. By the way, the initials C.J

who personifies a fairy, Secret manages to connect the new brand of Secret Violet Dazzle with a

Political Development And Political Decay By Samuel P....
In the article, Political Development and Political Decay, Samuel P. Huntington looks at the
importance of modernization, institutionalization, and mobilization in political development. He
discusses the many definitions of political development and purposefully distinguishes it from
modernization. Instead, he defines political development as the activities of political institutions.
Huntington then addresses the affect political mobilization has on the deterioration of political
institutions, and the ways in which institutions can develop. Modernization is often attributed as an
aspect of political development, but Huntington believes otherwise and he gives several reasons for
why this is. First, associating political development ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He identifies two reasons why political development is viewed as a one way concept . First, because
modernization is an irreversible process, it is clear why some may believe political development is
also irreversible, considering that the two concepts are often viewed as interconnected. Secondly, an
optimistic view of progress may exclude political decay as a possible concept (392). In Huntington s
view, studying both political development and political decay will help us better understand the
developing world. Next, Huntington argues that political institutionalization should play a greater role
when writing about political development. Institutionalization can be a characteristic of any political
system, it can be clearly defined and measured, and it is a reversible process. As defined by
Huntington, political development is the institutionalization of political organizations and procedures
(393). Different degrees of institutionalization can be applied to organizations based on their their
adaptability or rigidity, complexity or simplicity, autonomy or subordination, and coherence or
disunity. An organization that is more adaptable to changes has a greater level of institutionalization.
An older organization which has had more time to adjust to its successes and failures is more likely to
have a higher level of institutionalization than a younger organization, which is more likely to be rigid
and less adaptable. In addition, an organization that has

War has many fall outs. Like the Nigerian poet John Pepper Clark Bekederemo states The casualties
are not only those who are dead . Literary writings have represented many facets of war ranging from
the great epics like The Mahabharatha to our postcolonial postmodern writings on terrorism, genocide

In contemporary philosophy of mind, talk of perception has fallen out of favour. Indeed most writers
to deny perception altogether, or claim that they do not matter. Instead they reduce perception to
reality, or speak of the really real. Perception are said to be nothing but particles or waves or
structured brain events. Always already Nothing but matter and motion. One influential philosopher of
mind, Paul Churchland in his book The Engine of Reason, The Seat of the Soul replaces the perceiver
with functioning biological bodies. The perceiver gets reduced to an organized body, mind becomes
the brain, body motions become actions, man becomes the person. Churchland redefines phenomenal
qualities as being nothing but properties of the brain. Cognitive events such as understanding,
recognising, feeling, and perceiving are replaced with neural analogs. Here psychological events are
treated solely as neural events. This is the prevailing view in cognitive science.
These contemporary materialists have two claims. This first claim is that all perceptions can be
explained in terms of or by reference to neural events and the like. The second claim is that there are
only neural events (and other physical events in the environment). At the heart of the dismissal of
perception is the combination of two beliefs. The first is that science, especially neurological science,
has access to reality; and second, the distrust of perceiver dependent events. As modern

King Louis Xiv Research Paper
KING LOUIS XIV
King Louis XIV inherited the throne when he was only five years old. King Louis XIV of France, the
absolute monarch, changed France s military and government. Hebuilt the Palace of Versailles,
enhanced France s military, and involved most of Europe in war.
King Louis had his builders construct the Palace of Versailles to stay in during hunting trips. Although
many builders contributed to the palace, they could not have done it without Colbert, Le Brun, Le Vau,
and Le Notre. Colbert directed the works, Le Brun and Le Vau decorated the palace, and Le Notre was
the chief gardener. The area around the palace was full of animals for King Louis to hunt.
Armieswere hired out to governments. They were personally supplied by their leaders. King Louis

Although the French army was very strong, they could not defeat the many nations they were fighting.
King Louis signed the Treaty of Ryswick and established status quo ante bellum.
Louis began his conquest for land and glory with the War of Devolution. Louis married Maria
Thresher and demanded that Spain pay Maria s dowry. Because Spain did not pay the dowry, Maria
controlled most of the Spanish Netherlands. Louis made a secret Treaty with the Holy Roman Empire
who agreed with the French expansion into the Spanish Netherlands. Louis signed the Peace of Aix la
Chapella and withdrew from Franche Comte.
King Louis then moved on to the Dutch War. France allied with England, Sweden, and parts of
Prussia. The French army was successful until Louis s demands caused the Dutch to open the sluices
and flood parts of the Netherlands to stop the French. France s success caused the Dutch to gain allies.
The Holy Roman Empire and Spain joined the Dutch and created the Grand Alliance of Hague.King
Louis made the Peace of Nijmegan which allowed France to have Franche Comte, but France had to
surrender other territory to the

Marketing: Differences Between B2B and B2C
Marketing allows organizations to promote their products or services with the intent of maximizing
their profit and gaining consumers confidence. In today s society marketing the correct
product/service can be difficult but implementing the marketing process and planning accurately can
alleviate potential obstacles. This week s paper will discuss the meaning of marketing, define business
to business (B2B), define business to consumer (B2C), and compare how marketing differs between
B2B/B2C websites.
Marketing
According to Warholic, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The value of the relationship in B2B is maximized whereas B2C the value of transaction is
maximized. In B2B the target market is smaller compare to B2C, which has a large target market. The
purchasing aspect in B2B is a multi step process whereas in B2C the purchasing process is a single
step.
For example, if a consumer wanted to purchase a book for Amazon.com the only thing they would
have to do is click on the shopping cart to add the item to the cart, once that was done the purchasing
screen is displayed which allows the consumer to purchase the book. This is not true with a B2B
website because the funding for the same book has to be authorized through many channels before the
purchasing process can be completed.
According to Murphy, B2C companies employ more merchandising activities like coupons, displays,
store fronts (both real and Internet) and offers to entice the target market to buy (Murphy, 2006, para.
6).
For example, the goal of an email campaign for a B2C company is to get consumers to buy the
product immediately to make this process as short as possible, so the email navigates consumer to a
landing page on the web site that is designed to sell the product and make purchasing very easy by
integrating the shopping cart and checkout page into the flow of the transaction (para. 6).
Other differences are the sales cycle, brand identity; educational/awareness building activities (B2B)
concept, merchandising /point of purchase activities (B2C)

Rfid ( Radio Frequency Identification )
INTRODUCTION
RFID (radio frequency identification) is a technology that was originally developed for use in
transponders in aircrafts during the Second World War. RFID is an information and sensor technology
that can be attached or inserted into objects to collect data through reader devices and tags. It uses
wireless radio waves to transmit and uses devices such as RFID readers, RFID tags, and middleware.
The RFID system consists of three components
1. The transponder, which is a small electronic data carrying tag that is attached to the product to be
identified.
2. A reader that uses radio frequency signals to communicate with the tag
3. A data processing system that stores information about the tagged products.
RFID tags are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
RFID has also gained significant foothold in supply chain and manufacturing.
RFID IN WAREHOUSE MANAGEMENT
In the last decade RFID has gained popularity in the logistics and supply chain management fields.
Many warehouses are taking into consideration the adoption of RFID to reduce the operating cost
against the requirement to build an automatic warehouse and labour intensive manual checking. For
warehousing the parameters include communication range, amount of transmittable data,
communication time and speed of tag communication. The communication range is the distance
within which the reader can transmit or receive data to the tag. Beyond this range the items become
undetectable. The amount of data that is transmitted between the tag and reader affects the
performance in terms of transmission time and accuracy. The communication time also impacts the
performance of the RFID system. There is a choke point which is the fixed reader and the RFID is
constrained to a maximum travel velocity when passing the fixed reader location. When travelling
beyond this speed the accuracy to read is very close to zero. So when greater volume of data is passing
the tag will have to essentially pass the reader more slowly for an accurate read, especially in
warehouses.
In a warehouse four activities generally occur. In the first activity the receiving dock receives the
shipments that arrive at from the factory. With the

  • 2. Carbon Dioxide And Its Effect On The Environment 1. A Carbon dioxide (CO2) absorbs energy from the sun, then releases it back into earth; it is the second largest greenhouse gas after water vapour. Carbon dioxide releases out a harmful gas, which is dissolved out to the atmosphere determined by temperature. However CO2 is not one of the main impulsive forces in causing climate shifts, but as the climate cools the concentration of CO2 decreases this then has a further cooling effect. Causing this irregular rise and fall in CO2 levels is the shift where carbon moves between the atmosphere, the earths crust and the ocean. Furthermore, the rapid change of seasons also has an effect in how CO2 levels act, as such in winter the saturation levels in the ocean increases. This then influences the CO2 levels to dissolve in the ocean, resulting to a rise in sea levels and causes such as loss of biodiversity. Carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases are visible to radiation that delivers the sun s energy to the earth. Different types of radiation influence the temperature occurrence in carbon dioxide; this is because the molecules found in the air by carbon dioxide absorb infrared radiation. Carbon dioxide takes up a big amount of infrared radiation this is due to the process in how the gas prevents its escape into space making radiation warm up the atmosphere. An example that we can relate to this matter is how quickly a closed up car heats up under the summer sun. This is similarly the case of carbon dioxide, like with the ... • 3. The World Wide Web Is A Better Source For Students... The world wide web is growing immensely and it is filled with a plethora of information that is easily accessible to anyone and everyone with an internet capable device. Students today are constantly glued to technology, whether it is for leisure purposes or school purposes, thus making them susceptible to reading and gathering accurate as well as false information from the internet. Many students do not know how to navigate the web effectively or will not check a source s authority when doing research, and as a result, they gather faulty information. The fact that students can easily access information on the web when doing research, it is imperative for teachers to teach students how to properly evaluate websites in order to assure that they are gathering authentic information from credible sources. There are certain criteria educators and students can use in order to confirm the authenticity of a website. In this paper, I used ten of Kathy Schrock s criteria to evaluate two websites to determine which is a better source for students researching information on the topic The Human Body. The criteria used are underlined and written in bold, and below each criterion will be a summary of my evaluation of both websites. This paper will conclude which website is better for the research. Authority A site should enable the user to easily find out about the author. Questions we could ask ourselves are: is the author a well regarded name that I recognize, does their online ... • 4. Dave Grohl Research Paper Who I admire: Dave Grohl Many people do not realize what it means to be a musician, much less a famous musician. You need to be smart, talented and charasmatic. Dave grohl has achieved all three of these things. He has completed the goals of many young men, including myself. Dave has been in many successful bands and written and performed multiple hit songs. Dave Grohl Has many admirable attributes but considering my time constraints, I will only touch a few of them. The first amazing that I will discuss is the fact that he can write songs. General audiences do not realize how difficult it is to write songs. You must first come up with a part. After that extenuating process you have to make other parts that match the original part. Dave has such amazing talent that he writes most of the parts to his songs. The first album of his newest band(Foo Fighters) was all written, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Dave plays drums, guitar, bass guitar, and basically anything you put in front of him. The craziest part about him being able to play all of these instruments is that he plays them just as well, if not better, than someone who focuses solely on one one instrument. He can even sing! Dave is the lead singer and plays guitar for his Current band The Foo Fighters . I can not think of another person that can play as well or as many instruments as Dave Grohl. My final, and perhaps my favorite part about Dave, is How many bands he has been in. Dave Grohl has been in some of my favorite bands including Foo Fighters , Queens of the Stone Age , and ,the most famous, Nirvana . The fact that he was in such famous and successful bands shows why many people respect and admire him. Dave was first well known for being in a massive band called Nirvana . Most artists are famous for one band and one band only. However, Dave continued after that. He founded a band in 1994 which is still pumping out hit after ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This paper provides an answer to the puzzle of why feud violence in Eastern Kentucky spiked in the latter half of the 19th century. Previous explanations, such as Altina Waller s account of the Hatfield/McCoy Feud (Waller, 1998) have analyzed feud violence from a historical perspective. This paper will bring the tools of economics and rational choice approaches to bear on the problem. The analysis of violence using economic logic is not novel. Violent conflict, though costly and perhaps even socially inefficient, can still be individually rational for the parties involved (Tullock 2003, p. 4.) Previous work has also explored ... Section 4 seeks to ties the previous two sections together and apply them to Eastern Kentucky in the 19th century. Geographically, the region is near totally ensconced by the Appalachian Mountain range, which runs from Alabama to Maine. Mountains, rocky hills, and forests dominate the terrain. Outside of the Huntington Ashland Metropolitan area, most of the countryside is quite rural. Small towns dot the region, but there is relatively little else. Census and economic data from 1850 and 1860 depict a region that was still very much unexplored and underdeveloped. • 7. The Impact Of Social Worker On Australian Society The role of the Social worker is varied as it involves the facilitation of change and empowerment of the individual through social, cultural and environmental influences. Between 1910 and 1970, the role of the social worker was significant due to the impact of the Stolen Generation on Australian society. The Stolen Generation was a dark period in the Australian history where many Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children were often taken without consent from their homes and families by the government, police and welfare authorities. The children were taken from their homes in order to try to civilize them by assimilation into white society (McCarthy 2000). The impacts of this period often resulted in severe psychological consequences for the children, the loss of identity, social isolation, depression, alcohol abuse and an increased level of violence. The role of the Social Worker was significant during this period as they were often involved with removing children from their homes and were also required to participate in the reconciliation process to improve the relationships between Indigenous peoples and the wider Australian community. One of the lasting effects of this practice is the distrust of indigenous people towards the social welfare profession. Traditionally, Social Workers are seen as human rights workers who advocate for the people to ensure equal access to all services by ensuring services are in place to meet human rights such as the right to ... Treated differently through the play by different people and at different times, she adapts and changes her character, finally triumphing over her hated husband Jason. She can feasibly be seen as a mortal woman, Aristotle s tragic hero figure and even as an exulted goddess. Medea s identity as a weak woman is emphasised at the very start of the play. She makes clear reference to the fact that she is part of the group of wretched women and that she is simply striking back as a woman scorned . When Creon comes on the stage, she continues with the pitiable appearance, begging ( I kneel to you, I beseech you ). She tries to persuade Creon that he has no threat from her, using the fact that she is a woman to make him disregard her power ( I m in no position a woman to wrong a king ). However, after this scene is where the image of Medea as a feeble woman ends. The Chorus indicate their pity and that Medea s plight touches our hearts . But at this point, Medea becomes the murderous and dangerous woman that will kill her children and cackle with glee at the thought of Glauce s death. She declares that she manipulated Creon, fawning on him to gain my purpose . She still holds our pity but not in the same intensity (until eventually she finally loses pity almost completely in her double infanticide). As a mother, Medea on the surface is not the best, as she eventually kills her children, ignoring their pleas for mercy ( Mother, don t kill us ). However, we must not ignore the heartache and pain that Medea endures in killing them. It takes incredible conviction to carry it out ( parted from you, my life will be all pain and ... To attain this accuracy, it is important to base a training program on well researched and empirical data. In developing a possible program for training interviewers, it will be necessary to discuss some of the elements that can be used for a training program. Additionally, training programs will need to be comprised of key components and a solid process to ensure the program is effective. However, a training program is only as successful as the results it produces. Therefore, the last section will explore ways to evaluate the effectiveness of a training program. Training Program Elements and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Each of these elements play an important role in the overall training process and will serve to assist interviewers in achieving more consistent ratings. Training is important because interviewers gain very little useful information from their day to day interviewing experiences (Cascio Aguinis, 2011). Minimal gains from going through multiple interviews makes sense, since interviewers would have nothing to compare their interviewing experiences to, or have any consistent method to learn more effective ways of conducting interviews and assigning ratings. Furthermore, training is necessary for interviewers to improve their skills, rather than perpetuate poor ones, and is best when experience combines with high levels of cognitive complexity (Cascio Aguinis, 2011). Therefore, it is critical for an interviewer training program to have elements like learning and analysis, which adds cognitive complexity by providing a base of information and clear examples for participants to observe. Overall, experience alone will not suffice in allowing improvements to occur for an interviewer, and training is necessary to improve decision making and accuracy during interviews. Key Components As mentioned previously, a key component when conducting a training program is to clearly define the purpose of the training. The role of interviewers is to accurately rate their perceptions of an applicant and evaluate those perceptions in relation to job requirements, as outlined by a job ... As people go through this arc of life social positions change and we are put into certain parts in life. This because life changes and people go through bodily and physical change throughout life. Rites of passage allows an individual to participate but there is also a group to go with that person in which are close to the individual. This means anything that happen to there one friend and they die or get hurt, it effects them. For example, cultures have types of rituals (Lenkeit 2012: 11) where there is a celebration of life and when life ends we have a ceremony for the death of the person who meant something to us. It s a way of coming to peace and honoring them. 2. Supernatural belief (Lenkeit 2012: 11) is defined as the belief that transcends the observable, natural world. The two moral theorists Immanuel Kant and J.S Mill have created two distinctly different theories on morality and how to develop a universal moral code. Both theories focus on intentions and consequences. Kant believes that the intentions and reasons of our actions can be measured and defined as morally correct, where as Mill believes that our intentions really play no role in morality, and that we should focus on the consequences and outcomes of our actions to evoke the most happiness for the most people. I feel good putting people before myself. Some people will do nice things for others because it makes them feel good as well. In my opinion, if people love to help others and act in ethically sound ways because it gives them a feeling of approval, and the action is causing a positive consequence, that should be moral. It should be a wonderful thing that mankind can actually have feel good chemicals run through there body when assisting humanity. Kant should take this into consideration that if we feel good acting in good ways, it is more likely to be sustainable. • 40. The Philosophy Of Mind By Paul Churchland Philosophy of Mind In contemporary philosophy of mind, talk of perception has fallen out of favour. Indeed most writers to deny perception altogether, or claim that they do not matter. Instead they reduce perception to reality, or speak of the really real. Perception are said to be nothing but particles or waves or structured brain events. Always already Nothing but matter and motion. One influential philosopher of mind, Paul Churchland in his book The Engine of Reason, The Seat of the Soul replaces the perceiver with functioning biological bodies. The perceiver gets reduced to an organized body, mind becomes the brain, body motions become actions, man becomes the person. Churchland redefines phenomenal qualities as being nothing but properties of the brain. Cognitive events such as understanding, recognising, feeling, and perceiving are replaced with neural analogs. Here psychological events are treated solely as neural events. This is the prevailing view in cognitive science. These contemporary materialists have two claims. This first claim is that all perceptions can be explained in terms of or by reference to neural events and the like. The second claim is that there are only neural events (and other physical events in the environment). At the heart of the dismissal of perception is the combination of two beliefs. King Louis XIV of France, the absolute monarch, changed France s military and government. Hebuilt the Palace of Versailles, enhanced France s military, and involved most of Europe in war. King Louis had his builders construct the Palace of Versailles to stay in during hunting trips. Although many builders contributed to the palace, they could not have done it without Colbert, Le Brun, Le Vau, and Le Notre. Colbert directed the works, Le Brun and Le Vau decorated the palace, and Le Notre was the chief gardener. The area around the palace was full of animals for King Louis to hunt. Armieswere hired out to governments. They were personally supplied by their leaders. King Louis established a definite ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 42. Difference Between B2B and B2C Marketing: Differences Between B2B and B2C Linicha Hunter University of Phoenix EBUS 400 E Business Dr. Hee Lee September 27, 2006 Marketing: Differences Between B2B and B2C Marketing allows organizations to promote their products or services with the intent of maximizing their profit and gaining consumers confidence. In today s society marketing the correct product/service can be difficult but implementing the marketing process and planning accurately can alleviate potential obstacles. This week s paper will discuss the meaning of marketing, define business to business (B2B), define business to consumer (B2C), and compare how marketing differs between B2B/B2C websites. Marketing According to Warholic, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The value of the relationship in B2B is maximized whereas B2C the value of transaction is maximized. In B2B the target market is smaller compare to B2C, which has a large target market. The purchasing aspect in B2B is a multi step process whereas in B2C the purchasing process is a single step. For example, if a consumer wanted to purchase a book for Amazon.com the only thing they would have to do is click on the shopping cart to add the item to the cart, once that was done the purchasing screen is displayed which allows the consumer to purchase the book. This is not true with a B2B website because the funding for the same book has to be authorized through many channels before the purchasing process can be completed. According to Murphy, B2C companies employ more merchandising activities like coupons, displays, store fronts (both real and Internet) and offers to entice the target market to buy (Murphy, 2006, para. 6). For example, the goal of an email campaign for a B2C company is to get consumers to buy the product immediately to make this process as short as possible, so the email navigates consumer to a landing page on the web site that is designed to sell the product and make purchasing very easy by integrating the shopping cart and checkout page into the flow of the transaction (para. 6). Other differences are the sales cycle, brand identity; educational/awareness building activities (B2B) concept, merchandising /point of purchase activities (B2C)

  • 44. Rfid ( Radio Frequency Identification ) INTRODUCTION RFID (radio frequency identification) is a technology that was originally developed for use in transponders in aircrafts during the Second World War. RFID is an information and sensor technology that can be attached or inserted into objects to collect data through reader devices and tags. It uses wireless radio waves to transmit and uses devices such as RFID readers, RFID tags, and middleware. The RFID system consists of three components 1. The transponder, which is a small electronic data carrying tag that is attached to the product to be identified. 2. A reader that uses radio frequency signals to communicate with the tag 3. A data processing system that stores information about the tagged products. RFID tags are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... RFID has also gained significant foothold in supply chain and manufacturing. RFID IN WAREHOUSE MANAGEMENT In the last decade RFID has gained popularity in the logistics and supply chain management fields. Many warehouses are taking into consideration the adoption of RFID to reduce the operating cost against the requirement to build an automatic warehouse and labour intensive manual checking. For warehousing the parameters include communication range, amount of transmittable data, communication time and speed of tag communication. The communication range is the distance within which the reader can transmit or receive data to the tag. Beyond this range the items become undetectable. The amount of data that is transmitted between the tag and reader affects the performance in terms of transmission time and accuracy. The communication time also impacts the performance of the RFID system. There is a choke point which is the fixed reader and the RFID is constrained to a maximum travel velocity when passing the fixed reader location. When travelling beyond this speed the accuracy to read is very close to zero. So when greater volume of data is passing the tag will have to essentially pass the reader more slowly for an accurate read, especially in warehouses. In a warehouse four activities generally occur. In the first activity the receiving dock receives the shipments that arrive at from the factory. With the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
