Notting Hill Interview
In early February of 2017, my eighty six year old grandmother fell and broke her arm in two places.
Since then, she has been in a rehabilitation center called the Notting Hill of West Bloomfield. My
family wanted the best care and recovery for my grandmother. After extensive research, my family
found that Notting Hill was rated very highly for its physical and occupational therapy, and it did.
However, from the first day the my grandmother was there, my grandmother, other family members of
mine, and I noticed an unfortunate phenomenon that still occurs at this facility; patients are not being
taken care of properly by the nurses and aides. There is a poor response time to the help light, there are
many medication errors, there is frequent ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In an interview with PBS, A.C. Thompson discusses his findings when he investigated a prestigious
living facility with high ratings: There was a pattern of problems that spanned the country. And what
we kept seeing were allegations and citations for a lack of staffing, not enough workers, a lack of
training, workers who weren t trained enough, medication errors, people getting the wrong drugs over
and over again. These were the kind of things that we saw, and these were the things that worried us
about the industry as it evolves. This description of his findings are very consistent with experiences I
have personally witnessed. Like my mother, Thompson talks poorly trained staff and the miniscule
amount of staff. These factors are what allow for such poor care in these facilities that happen around
the country.
In this interview, Thompson voices concern for the future of assisted living. The PBS interview
supports my claim that there is an inability to properly take care of patients in living facilities, and that
it is dangerous to elderly people or those with disadvantages. One way in which Thompson
strengthens my claim is through his use of the word pattern. This word shows how common these
problems are across the country in assisted living facilities. These problems that he witnessed are
dangerous and, as he put it,

Examples Of Heroism In Slaughterhouse Five
Another example of this technique, which is frequent all over the novel is the topic of three
musketeers which Vonnegut recalls in the first chapter when one of his colleagues is eating a chocolate
called a three Musketeers Candy bar , he mentions it again in chapter five page 129, when Billy s wife
Valencia eats the same candy bar. It seems that the name of this chocolate reminds Vonnegut about the
war and his friends which used to call their little group in the war The Three Musketeers .
Slaughterhouse Five attacks the preconceived belief that war and its members represent bravery, glory
or heroism. Vonnegut condemns the idea of war as justifiable means to come to the peace through the
character of Roland Weary who gets captured by Germans together with Billy. Weary is portrayed as
unpleasant and cruel soldier sometimes he talks of the inherently Christian service. He names his gang
of comrades The Three Musketeers , are performing by ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
(37) The repetition of image of The Three Musketeers creates a connection between the first chapter,
which is clearly a short introduction about the author s life, with Billy s experience in the battle and to
his post war experiences. Certain images and stories reappear in Slaughterhouse Five, reminding the
readers that even though the story is told in a temporal distortion everything is part of the whole plan.
Vonnegut used the repetition of phrases as a narrative technique to help the readers to remember and
bring back the focus to the story. There are various examples of this technique throughout the novel.
Another repeated expression is the color blue and ivory feet . Billy has blue and ivory feet in the
fourth chapter due to a malfunction of the heating system in his

Essay on Monetary Policy
Introduction
Monetary policy is among the many tools used by a national government to manipulate its financial
system. Monetary policy refers to the method used by the financial authority of any country to control
the supply and availability of money (Woelfel, 1994). It is often targeted at interest rates to achieve lay
down objectives directed towards economic growth and stability (Woelfel, 1994). Monetary policy
rests on the link between interest rates in an economy, that is, the relationship between interest rates
and the total money supply. It employs a variety of methods to control outcomes like inflation,
economic growth, currency exchange rates and unemployment.
Monetary policy can either be expansionary policy in which case ... Show more content on

One of these approaches is quantitative easing (QE). Quantitative easing is a technique used by central
banks to boost money supply in an economy when interest rates are close to or at zero thus cannot be
reduced further (Woelfel, 1994). To increase the supply of money under such conditions, the central
bank may be forced to buy government assets/securities like government bonds, mortgage backed
securities or government debt from banks thus increase their surplus revenue hence raise or stabilize
prices of such securities and consequently reduce interest rates in the long term.
With this insight in mind, the remaining part of this essay seeks to critically examine the methods of
implementing monetary policy when interest rates are close to or at zero.
Monetary Policy Options at the Zero Bound
Interest rates have the lowest bound at zero mark. When this limit is reached, serious problems occur
in designing appropriate monetary policy approaches since interest rates can never be set below this
mark. Countries like Japan, United States and Switzerland have faced this challenge in the recent past
thus calling for alternative approaches to monetary policy when the nominal interest rate is close or at
zero.
Conventional monetary policy methods are always channeled towards lowering interest rates to
stabilize inflation and other outputs. This is however impossible in situations whereby the interest
rates are already close to or zero calling for

Artificial Intelligent, Natural Language Processing
Abstract
We are living in a busy world. Everyone is trying to catchup with almost everything he can. As a result
we all need our own persona assistant to help us out everyday. But not everyone can afford it.
Intelligent Personal
Assistant is the answer for them. Artificial Intelligent is improving fast. And taking advantage of it in
our everyday life can make our life much easier. It can mimic basic things like a human companion. In
this paper we compared between currently popular Intelligent Personal Assistants. What they can do
and what they can not yet. Though they provide state of art features but there is still many field to
make improvement, like improved natural language processing so that we don t have to use some
predefined keyword to get answer.
Chapter 1
Introduction
With the breakthrough of speech recognition, natural language processing, semantic web and machine
learning we can safely say that the age of Intelligent Personal Assistant(IPA) is upon us. A software
agent that can do various task or service for a person is called Intelligent Personal Assistant.

Testosterone In Sports
People are a normally aggressive animal varieties. For whatever length of time that we have had
games to contend in, competitors have attempted a wide range of things to be the best. Competitors
have utilized different substances and mixtures to enhance athletic execution since the start of human
advancement. The old Greeks ate sesame seeds, the Australian natives bit the pituri plant, Norse
warriors ate stimulating mushrooms, and old societies around the globe had comparative customs.
In the 1860s, a gathering of swimmers in Amsterdam were accused of taking medications to accelerate
their races. For the following 80 years or somewhere in the vicinity, competitors who needed to cheat
concentrated for the most part on stimulants to speed themselves up.
In 1935, the male hormone testosterone was initially incorporated. Amid World War II, German
fighters were apparently offered testosterone to build their execution and forcefulness on the war zone.
In the 1940s testosterone started to be broadly utilized as a part of focused games, however the perils
of stacking up on testosterone were not yet clear. In the 1952 Olympics, the Russian weightlifting and

Importance of Identity in Anglo
J. M. Synge is one of the most prominent Irish writers of the twentieth century; his writing
characterizes a broad, multifaceted range of political, social and religious anxieties shaping Ireland for
the duration of its most remarkable period of change, which transformed the place from a relatively
peaceful country to a more political and aggressive location. The picture Synge creates shows us that
the question of identity relating to Ireland is problematic; however it has produced and provoked some
of the greatest literature of the century. As G. J. Watson has asserted: However painful the question of
identity may be for the Irish in real life, it has functioned, deeply embedded as it is in the Irish

Ronan McDonald states: Enter the playboy Christy Mahon. Christy s poetry, like the cultural
flowering of the Ascendancy, is based on a dirty deed that is aestheticized as a gallous story. In the
course of the action it is exposed and then transcended. Christy comes to the Mayoites carrying a mark
of culpability which, in the course of the play, he is privileged to purge. Culture confronts and expiates
its violent origins in the controlled laboratory of the stage. The play comically, but unnervingly,
explores the process by which violence is glorified and aestheticized. Yet it also, by a theatrical slight
of hand, reveals the violence as chimerical, and allows Christy to pass through and survive the
implications of his supposed atrocity. Ireland is shown for what it is; Synge offers us a critique which
is almost satirical. There is a mystical quality to Ireland which is emphasised by its storytelling and
folklore (Shanaitue), in which the Irish are a `nation of heroes ; a notion which is explored through the
figure of Christy who is himself a `Christ like figure as he almost brings his father back from the dead
in a sense. There is a sub textual reference to the New Testament in this father son relationship;
Christy is in conflict with his father and in a certain respect he is `sacrificed when he is burnt because
he did not live up to the expectations people had of him. Synge treats the conflict between the
relations with irony, and it is

The Marvel And Dc Worlds
There are multiple imaginary universes that have been created but the most commonly known and
loved, are the Marvel and DC worlds. Marvel and DC are universes where human beings, aliens, and
creatures have powers beyond the realty beaten impossibilities. Behind these creations are
masterminds of the imagination, showing how to overcome any problem thrown at their imaginary
characters. These characters are better known, in general, as superheros and villians. The main
difference between these named superpowered heroes are which group they belong to, The Justice
League that was created by DC, Detective Comics, or the Avengers which was created by Marvel.
Marvel has many different people that contribute to the making of their characters but the main person
who gets most of the credit is former chairman of Marvel, Stan Lee. Stan Lee is well known author,
publisher, editor, television producer and actor. He made many hero groups such as the fantastic four
and the X Men but the one that has launched itself as the biggest group are The Avengers. The
Avengers are Stan Lee s prize turkey. Not only has this group of heros brought Lee s name into fame,
but it gave him great money. Without Lee, the Avengers world would be nothing and some would say,
vice versa. DC, or Detective Comics, does not have a well known face like Marvel but instead many
hard working employees that have come together to create worlds that compete well with Marvel s.
DC s president of the company is Diane

Reflection On Team Management
Let me begin with why I choose this course. From my past experience, I have worked for some good
managers and some not so good ones. However, what I realized is that they can manage people but not
that efficiently and effectively. This is where I understood; I need to learn how to manage people more
effectively and efficiently. This course was offered for the first time in our program and it grabbed my
attention even though this would be an extra course for me. Our first class was very friendly as
everyone in the class had to introduce themselves to others based on which teams could be formed.
This exercise spontaneously made each of us talk something positive as an individual and what they
can bring to the team. I really liked the last part of this exercise; what all an individual can add to a
team. Then we had a quick 5 minute session of shaking one another s hand without talking to each
other. Here, we all made a mistake of not shaking the professor s hand as we all assumed him not to be
a part of the exercise. Once we formed our team, we had a small exercise of making 15 paper airplane
which had to travel a distance of 10 15 feet. This exercise taught us the forming part of the team
model to adapt quickly in our new team, help each other and come up with a solution. Here, one team
member observed the entire process without giving any inputs. I felt this technique could be used in
our daily meetings to get constructive feedback on how the team is working and get rid of

Was Tsar Nicholas Emperor Unfit
Tsar Nicholas II of Russia: An Emperor Unfit to Rule Ravaged Russia At the end of the nineteenth
century, Tsar Nicholas II of Russia reluctantly took command of an empire overflowing with
revolutionaries who were seeking change in response to hardships that their nation was facing. His
timid personality, coupled with his lack of political education and military experience, made him unfit
to calm the war fueled chaos that would soon envelop Russia. Nicholas series of unfortunate,
unprepared and uninformed decisions began with his marriage and eventually ended with his decision
to abandon the capital to lead his armies, ultimately leading to the demise of his imperial family s
three hundred year dynastic tradition. The turn of the century illuminated Russia, commonly labeled
as backwards by the other European powers, as the last remaining European autocracy. Russian
society still operated on the estate system, which was characterized by an enormous gap between the
upper class nobility and the lower class peasantry. Peasants comprised eighty percent of the population
and only a fraction were educated. They had little understanding of government and were highly
patriarchal. Many served as serfs. It was not until the 1860s that these serfs were freed from legal
bondage by Nicholas grandfather, Alexander II. However, this was not enough to satisfy Russian
citizens newfound taste of freedom. In the years following, they demanded he establish an elected

The Doctor-Patient Relationship Is The Primary Mode Of
The doctor patient relationship is the primary mode of cognition that is at the heart of the discourse of
medicine and bioethics. Healthcare is constructed around encounters between practitioners and
patients, and the relationship between them is integral to how the cultures of healing are at work and
represented in literature, in history and social sciences around the world. Life and mortality are two
great questions of being that perennially haunt the human existence; and physicians play the most
significant role in negotiating between the physical and the metaphysical worlds of being, suffering
and trying to find cure and comfort as long as life goes on. The cultures of healing across time, space
and nationality explored however ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is Foucault s famous observation in The Birth of the Clinic ( as translated into English in 1973)
where he illustrates the doctor patient relationship in terms of power, and the subject object hierarchy.
The diseased body is in disorder, in a state of displacement, and its subjectivity is erased as it becomes
subject to the doctor s examination. In several literary works of the nineteenth century, such
representations of doctor patient relationship are to be found as corresponding to the Foucauldian
pattern, that is, turning the patient s subjectivity into an object of the doctor s authoritative gaze.
However, since Foucault himself has elsewhere insisted on the double meaning of subject (1982, 212),
it is possible to problematize the doctor patient relation and attempt to come to terms with one s own
subject object position within the established discourse of medical gaze. It is interesting, however, to
examine how literary representations of doctor patient relationships across cultures and nationalities
have interrogated the notion of seeing as an alternative mode of vision.
Opthalmology as a special branch of medical science established itself quite seriously in the Victorian
period. Wilkie Collins Poor Miss Finch (1872) is a medical surgical novel , and the surgery is operated
on the eye. Beneath the story

Replacing the Income Tax With the Flat Tax Essay
Did you know that an astonishing 43.4 percent of the people in America do not pay any income taxes
(McCullagh 1)? This is roughly 65.6 million people that aren t paying taxes and this is putting our
economy and country at its breaking point. Our current tax system penalizes those that work and save
money. People that pay no taxes still get to enjoy the benefits. The United States needs to look at
which tax is fairer to the people and easier to administer by the government. Although some may
disagree, the Flat Tax should replace the income tax to simplify and bring fairness to the system,
increase income, and create jobs. Currently, the United States has a federal income tax that is very

A revolutionary change in our tax system is fundamental to re energizing the American economy and
restoring the American dream (Moore 1). Currently, there are two major plans being considered to try
and fix the tax system in the United States. These two plans are the Flat Tax and the National Retail
Sales Tax. Both the Flat Tax and a National Sales Tax would replace today s discriminatory tax
structure with a single low rate. Either plan would promote the kind of capital formation that America
needs to boost workers incomes and raise long term economic growth (Mitchell 1). This means that
the flat tax would take away the savings from the government and pass them on to the citizens and
businesses. By doing this, there would be a rise in long term economic growth. The national sales tax
would replace our current income tax system by taxing goods and services. Under this system of
taxation, people would pay taxes on every item purchased and not on income. This would help the
economy through sales. There would no longer be an inheritance tax or a capital gains tax. The
government would impose a 17.65 percent tax on the value of all final sales to consumers. To protect
lower income citizens, the government would send all households periodic rebate checks, the net
effect of which would be to offset the tax burden on purchase up to the poverty level (Mitchell 2). This
national sales tax is a popular

Summary and Reflection of Nihon Furisode Hajime by...
On Sunday, March 9, 2014, I had a great opportunity to watch Nihon Furisode Hajime, a Kabuki play
held in Kabukiza theatre in Tokyo, Japan. The production was written by the pen name Chikamatsu
Monzaemon whose actual name is Nobumori Sugomori. The play was formerly created for the puppet
theatre, Bunraku, and was first staged in Osaka in 1718. Also, it was first performed in Kyoto after it
has immediately reformed to Kabuki during the same month.
Nihon Furisode Hajime is a fictional story about the fight between an eight headed serpent and
Susanoo. As a yearly ceremonial, the townspeople brought Princess Inada to the Izumo Mountain, the
site where the annual sacrifice for the serpent is dedicated. The serpent, disguised as an ugly princess,
was attracted to jars full of sake before she was able to attack Princess Inada. Knowing that the sake
wine will weaken the serpent, a hero named Susanoo used set up the jars of sake wine as a trap against
the serpent. Susanoo then attacked and defeated the drunken eight headed serpent and saved Princess
Inada.
There are three main characters in the production. The first main character of the play is Princess
Iwanaga. She is a jealous woman whose spirit has become the eight headed serpent. Due to her
insecurities of being called ugly, she threatens and demands the villagers to send her every year the
body of the most beautiful girl in town. Another important character named Princess Inada is a young

Before installing the VPN services, however, a number of things must be taken into consideration. By
evaluating who is using the VPN, the hardware necessary to make good connections, the pros and
cons of differing connection protocols, and evaluating past security problems, setting up the VPN
services becomes a much smoother process. VPN s and Firewalls Anyone who will be accessing the
VPN services should have a firewall in place.Once a VPN connection is established, the client is
essentially able to access information behind the company s firewall, thus creating an access hole.
Therefore, insisting a client use and maintain a firewall is another layer in the security of the VPN
setup. The ease of changing the firewall rules to allow VPN connections should be addressed. Very old
firewalls, either appliance types or software types, may be difficult or impossible to configure to allow
VPN access.A small business may stay with an old firewall for many reasons, one of which might be
the fact that there has been no reason to upgrade in the past. It would be prudent to check the firewall
documentation before becoming enmeshed in the VPN process, only to have it fail for lack of access,
or creating a setup that might be considered insecure. User Considerations When setting up the VPN

that a simple way to understand urban space is by identified cultural landmarks around us. Place needs
to be at the heart of urban landscape history , for it is essential to what makes the geography related to
the inhabitants of the city. Furthermore, Hayden believes a sense of place is developed at an early age,
therefore every human being has a unique sense of belongings. Lastly, she emphasize that each place
in the city is connected to a social or economic reason for its existence.

Mexico Poverty
According to a 2015 study by The Organization for Economic Corporation and Development, Mexico
has one of the highest rates of income inequality in the world which inevitably leads to a sharp
contrast among living conditions, agency, and power between the rich and the poor. Mexican society
has been stratified since the Mexican revolution. The goals of the Mexican revolution were to disperse
wealth but the policies enacted made it difficult to make a living in a rural setting thus serving as a
catalyst for a mass emigration to cities where people were could only find shelter in the slums
(https://history.libraries.wsu.edu/spring2016/2016/01/20/the poverty and social stratification in
mexico/). After watching the documentary about the One Child Policy in China, a common theme
appears to be that the poorest and most marginalized seem to be those living in rural societies. This is
most likely because generally speaking, the poor are the least educated simply because they cannot
afford it thus resulting in having to hold laborious jobs such as those in agriculture.
The distribution of wealth in Mexico is perhaps the leading cause for the social inequality so
prominent in the country. For the past 25 years the gap between the rich and poor has been steadily
increasing. According to the WEA the top 1% of Mexico s distribution has an average annual income
47 times that of the poorest 1%

China. In this context, tourists also capture an increasingly important position, since they are more and

Sociological Perspective
Coming from AJP, I needed to cross Fifth Avenue to start my walk, and like what I had to do every
day when I had class at that building, I found myself once again waiting for the walk sign to appear
across the street. This Sociological Perspective of seeing society in our everyday lives showed how
the smallest personal choices, even the action of walking, is affected and shaped by society and how it
functions. As I was walking through Fifth Avenue, I noticed that there were buildings at every corner
of this long street. Students, some wearing Carlow gear while others wore Pitt gear, populated the
sidewalks, conversing with other students. As I got farther into Fifth Avenue, I could see UPMC
hospitals and signs with directions of entrances and parking lots. People populated the end of the
sidewalk in this street, waiting at the Bus Stop sign. In the area of Forbes Avenue, there were a lot of
restaurants, and I noticed many students walking to get in and eat.
The pedestrian traffic was very similar to the automobile traffic on the street. Through the
Sociological Perspective of seeing the general in the particular, I was able to identify the general
patterns of the group of pedestrians walking on the sides, including myself. There is a systematic way
in society that traffic runs, and as I was walking, I, along with the rest of the pedestrians near me,
looked both ways of the street before crossing at the end of the streets at Forbes. At one point in my

The Albanian Culture During The Ottoman Rule In Albania
Culture is what connects everyone to their roots and is what plays a great part of everyone s
personality. Every culture is unique and special in its own way. With this cultural project, I had an
opportunity to discover a different culture other than mine. I experienced the Albanian culture. Albania
is a small country in Southeastern Europe. Also, Albanians are the Balkan people who settled in
Albania and they call themselves Shqiptarë . In addition to Albanian culture, there are the religions
that have a great impact to their life. During the Ottoman rule in Albania, many Albanians converted
to Islam. However, Albanian Christians were not forced to convert so they just remained Christian. On
November 28th, 1912, Albania declared independence and was recognized as a country. After this
cultural experience and events that took place I was enlightened on the great Albanian culture.
In order to discover the Albanian culture, my good friend Albi allowed me to come into his home for
dinner. Including Albi there were 6 people who were there to experience the culture. Furthermore, it
was very exciting to not only experience a new culture, it was exciting to do it with friends. ... Show

powerful tool in the sense that one is able to communicate with people from all over the world and
also expand businesses. Also, it is widely used to read news articles. Nowadays, new media is
commonly used by news organisations and journalists to enhance newspapers and online news portals.

The Relationship Of Jesus And Christian Mentoring In The...
Mentor is characterized as a wise and trusted advocate or instructor. Although tutoring/mentoring is
not in the Bible, it gives us various cases of coaching. Moses was a great example of a mentoring
relationship. The mentoring relationship among Eli and Samuel allowed Samuel to take on tasks and
obligations that were his after Eli s demise. Jesus mentor His disciples, while Barnabas and Paul
exceeded expectations in mentoring. Jesus made His style of mentoring clear. He led so we may
follow. He stated if anybody will come after him, let them take up his cross and follow him. Since He
is our leader and we are to follow Him, Christian mentoring is a procedure subordinate upon
accommodation to Christ. Neither the mentor or mentee controls the relationship. The way toward
mentoring is portrayed by sharing, trust, and enrichment as the life and work of the two members is
changed. The mentor fills in as a model and a confided in audience. The guide depends on the Holy
Spirit to give understanding, change lives, and educate through demonstration.
Jesus and the apostles, as well as elders in the church do their work by mentoring. Peter states to be
the example of the flock, and Paul discloses to the elders at Ephesus. Paul demonstrates to the elders,
so that they may show others. If a Christian leader is not mentoring to that degree, he or she is not
satisfying their calling. God has filled the group of Christ with potential mentors other than the
individuals who are elders.

Willy Foil
Death of a Salesman Questions
One comes to know Willy over several key points in the play. One especially revealing point is in the
beginning of the play he comes home from work and contradicts himself to no end, when talking
about Biff he says Biff is a lazy bum! then later going on to contradict himself saying There s one
thing about Biff he s not lazy later in the same dialogue. This shows that Willy is unstable in his
thoughts and not in the right mind.
Uncle Charley is the foil to Willy in the way Charley always set realistic goals and was very truthful to
himself while Willy was always telling himself he was the best and he could do anything he wanted to
which was not realistic. To Biff Bernard is his foil due to the fact in high school Bernard focused on
his school work and becomes a successful and didn t rely on his popularity to gain success but his
education. Contrast to Bernard Biff was focused on being popular and a football big shot and did rely
on his popularity to gain success. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

King Arthur Isolationist
While it is true that some of the Arthurian Narratives show a violent process of cultural and
geopolitical circulation, I believe claiming the whole of the Arthurian legend to be this way is
problematic. The same can be said for the claim that Arthur is both expansionist and isolationist.
These traits typically depend on the time period and the origin of the author. For example, Geoffrey of
Monmouth shows a violent process of cultural and geopolitical circulation while also being
isolationist in his Latin Historia Regum Britannie. After Arthur is crowned, he has to give a gift to all
his men, but he has nothing to give, so Arthur, accordingly, in whom courage was combined with
generosity, decided to harry the Saxons, so he could bestow their wealth on the retainers who served
him. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

story was more a chance for the writer to complain about current rulers during his time by comparing
them to Arthur. At the end of his piece, he states, I am always amazed that King Arthur was so
generous a man and the lords nowadays are so miserly. King Arthur did well to relinquish so readily
such a rich land... Here he is implying that they should be similar to the Britain s because King Arthur
was obviously a very great lord. Because of this, I would argue that this story does not show a sense of
cultural isolation. der Stricker wants his lords to act similarly to King Arthur. In most cases, the quest
involved seems to involving concurring, but in the case of Sir Gawain and the Green Knight, no one
was being concurred, and there was no cultural anxiety necessarily present. Gawain was simply going
on a quest to prove himself. This writer manages to include both French manner, Christianity, and

Biblical Eras Of Creation, The Patriarchs, And The Ketuvim
Referred to as Tanak by Jews, the Hebrew Bible contains twenty four books characterized by three
categories: The Torah, the Nevi im, and the Ketuvim, which outline the history and beliefs of the
Jewish faith. The Torah, commonly known as the Law of Moses, contains the books of Genesis,
Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy. These five narrative books cover the Biblical eras of
creation, the patriarchs, and the exodus. In Genesis 1, God created everything from nothing at His will
in six days and proclaimed all of it good. Humankind was created, Adam and Eve, in God s image,
and they lived in the pure garden of Eden. Sin is introduced to the world when a serpent convinces
Eve, who subsequently convinces Adam, to eat from the the tree of good and evil, which God strictly
forbade. God judged their sin, bans them from Eden, they went out in the world, and birthed sons Cain
and Abel. After Cain killed Abel out of jealousy, God again judged sin by cursing Cain, but
exemplified forgiveness in Genesis 6 through his promise to curse whoever tried to hurt him.
Generations later, descendant of Adam, Noah, is introduced, as well as his wife Naamah and their sons
Shem, Ham, and Japheth. In Genesis 6, God decided to start over, but saved Noah, his family, and
animals, by telling Noah to build an ark to endure the great flood. Noah fulfilled God s orders and
built an alter to Him after the flood seceded, but his descendants prove the corruptness of humankind

The Role Of Erosion And Weathering In The Painted Desert...
Have you ever wondered how landmarks like the The Tepees in the Painted Desert of Arizona came to
be? Erosion and weathering are the main culprits behind the creation of these unique and beautiful
attractions. The mechanical and chemical procedure that modify objects on Earth s surface over time
are called weathering. Erosion is the method of taking weathered material from one region to another.
Weathering is the breaking down of rock, soil, and minerals. Erosion is the development of being
eroded by wind, water, or other natural causes. Weathering is grinding out of man made or natural
landforms. Erosion is the weathering out of surface soil and rock worn way through natural causes like
water and wind for example.
Mechanical weathering is when physical procedures naturally breakdown rocks into reduced pieces.
Chemical weathering changes the materials that are part of a rock into new resources. Examples of
chemical weathering are water, acids, and oxidation. Water is important in chemical weathering
because, most substances dissolve in water and acids are also essential since they increase the rate of
chemical weathering even more. Lastly, oxidation which is when an addition of oxygen to a material
is applied it creates an oxide. Which is a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Simplified Evolution Model Of The Genetic Landscape
Figure 10: Simplified evolution model of the genetic landscape in melanoma development and
progression30. In sequence, melanoma formation is initiated by activating mutation in BRAF from the
ERK MAPK pathway, which induces senescence forming a nevus. Mutation of TERT promoter, which
increases transcriptional activity, as well as disruption of cell cycle control that abrogates cell cycle
arrest (elevated levels observed in melanoma in situ) are events that allows the bypass of OIS
mechanism proceeding towards melanoma transformation. Copy number alteration (CNA) is observed
exclusively in invasive malignant melanoma alongside mutations in p53 and PTEN tumor suppressors
suggesting that these alterations are important in the event of cancer cell invasion and dissemination.
Mutation burden, specifically point mutations (indicative of UVR damage) increases throughout
progression. Frequency of the driver oncogenes remains constant throughout tumor progression.
9. Management and therapeutic approach of disease
Surgical removal is the standard treatment for localized primary melanomas. Localized melanomas are
exceedingly curable when removed properly within the recommended excision margins (maximum
2cm according to the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) guidelines for melanoma).
However, as melanoma progresses, it becomes increasingly difficult to treat as the disease is likely to
recur and become more resilient to the immune system as well as treatment.

The Giving Tree By Shel Silverstein
The Joy of Giving The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein is a great story about morals and life lessons.
The thought is we should give without expecting anything in return, and what will return to us is
happiness. The Giving Tree illustrates both the difficulty as well as the reward of unconditional love
and giving. The Giving Tree begins with a boy who befriends a tree. Each day the boy would come to
the tree and play with her leaves and climb her branches. When he would get tired he would take a nap
in the shade of the tree; and the tree was happy (Silverstein). However, as time went on and the boy
got older, he had less frequent trips to visit the tree. Time went on and the boy returned. The tree
wanted the boy to play on her ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
At this point, the story seemed to come full circle as the boy had returned to rest where he had begun.
He had lived his life and even after he had taken all the tree had, she was still happy he was there. This
showed the unconditional love she had for him, even when he gave little in return. The Giving Tree
also shows a bit of selfishness. The boy seemed to be more interested in material possessions instead
of the tree s feelings. It could also argue the point that humans need to have respect for the
environment instead of taking advantage of the resources it provides. Eventually, if humans take
everything, there will be nothing left to give like the story suggests. We can relate The Giving Tree to
parents and their children. A parent would do almost anything to help and care for their child. They
also want to be involved in their child s life as they grow older. As we grow older, we can forget where
we come from and who helped us get where we are. We begin to miss that peace of mind as time goes
on, and we return to our roots to rest and catch up with our loved ones. Those who love and give to us
unconditionally are not forgotten even if we don t always

The Realist Theory Of International Relations
When Arab spring started to influence various countries in Middle East and North Africa with domino
effect in 2010, Libya was one of these countries. There were uprisings in the regions because of the
bad economic conditions, lack of the democracy, human rights, and people s demand for democracy of
the cruel dictators. The demands or discomforts were same in Libya, but process of the Muammar al
Gaddafi s regime s end was different from others as it was intervened by coalition states and NATO.
Libya s intervene was carried out by the 1973 numbered resolution of United Nations Security
Council in March, 2011. The reasons of the intervention were expanding democracy in the region,
ending Gaddafi s violence through civilians and changing the regime. However, unlike other
interventions in international area, it was quick and sudden. Therefore it was obvious that other than
providing good life conditions to Libyan people, there were also other purposes of the coalition states
through Libya s rich resources.
Realism theory
On the realist theory of International Relations, the basic assumption of this theory is that states in
their foreign affairs, must pursue power, and ensure that they act rationally with the most appropriate
step that will be taken to perpetuate the life of the state in a hostile and threatening environment. A key
principle of realist theory is that of survival and it could be argued that in the domestic politics
governments create and enforce laws to

Walden Tone
Walden Tone The tone of the excerpt from Walden is critical of the way the American population
lives. This is seen by Thoreau s comparisons of the American lifestyle to people or beings that do not
live logically, such as the greedy man who was turned into an ant by Zeus in one of Aesop s fables, or
the pygmies and the cranes that fought a war until the pygmy population was decimated. He states in
the excerpt that he wanted to . . . live so sturdily and Spartan like as to put to rout all that is not life,
(Thoreau, 2). This quotation emphasizes that the American people are not able to truly live life since
they tend to live in extravagant excess. Thoreau moves from American excess to the railroad swiftly.

Thoreau criticizes his fellow humans when he states that they have somewhat hastily concluded that it
is the chief end of man here to glorify God and enjoy him forever, (Thoreau, 2). The indicated
quotation shows that Thoreau believes that his fellow citizens have not actually taken the time to look
at all the facts of life in order to make an educated decision about what life is for. Thoreau intends to
tell the world what life is about since he believes that many humans are in a strange uncertainty about
it, whether it is of the devil or of God, (Thoreau, 2). If people are uncertain about who created life,
Thoreau suggests that they take away all the superficial aspects of it and examine its bare bones.
However, many people wish to live extravagantly and do not know who or what created life, nor do
they wish to give up their material possessions to find out. In the event that people did discern what
life was and who created it, Thoreau would not have to be critical of them as they would live the way
he did and they would not have anything that was not necessary for their survival, which would itself
make them happy. Thus, if humankind cared more about the basics of life rather than its extravagance,
Thoreau might not have felt the need to disapprove of

Similarity was the example of Fredrick Douglas when his master had figured out Fredrick was

As people in lower poverty countries are just as a slave as Fredrick Douglas was. Not being able to

the choice to receive an education if they want it. Which some people do not choose to receive a free
education. That is a dishonor to the people that are unable to have that choice of receiving an
education, but like Fredrick he would have to trick boys into teaching him how to write. He would tell
them that he could write better than they could and they would try to prove him wrong. As they were
writing he would pay attention to detail and do the exact same thing. This is how he would learn how
to write. In poverty countries they do not even have that opportunity to pretend they know the
information because everyone else around them are without an education. That is why they stay in
poverty because no one has the knowledge to improve their country and make it a better place to live
in. This is why an education is so important to societies.

Even though Deming, Juran, and Crosby all have similarities between their key principles in quality
management there are several aspects that are different to the approaches. They all recognize the
importance of measurement to improve quality; however, the level of importance each emphasizes is
different. Crosby and Juran view the cost of quality as the focus of measurement whereas Deming
does not use the cost of quality as a focus (Suarez, 1992, p.18). To Deming, meeting the customers
needs and expectations about a product or service is of higher importance to quality. He also considers
unknown costs such as the impact of lost customers to be more significant than visible costs (Suarez,
1992, p.18).
Deming, Juran, and Crosby all define quality in different ways. Deming defines quality as a
continuous improvement and the ultimate goal is zero defects; however, he realizes an error free
product may not be economically feasible or practical (Kerzner, 2009, p. 880). Deming also states a
product or service is defined by the customer and quality is a relative term and will change based on
the customer s needs (Suarez, 1992, p.3)
Juran s definition of quality focuses 100% of the customer s satisfaction of the product. He stresses a
balance between product features and products free from deficiencies and believes a quality product is
free from deficiencies (Suarez, 1992, p.4). In order to achieve this

Individuals can be alone, but the Earth is a little less clear. Whether the Earth is alone in having the
ability to sustain life or if there is more out there in the vast darkness of space is a huge mystery. The
possibility of life beyond the green planet is highly debated. The debate is held within scientific
communities as well as the public. However mathematically, existence on Earth being the only source
of life in the universe is incredibly slim. Organizations such as SETI (Search for Extraterrestrial

Scientists have been baffled by the existence of life on Earth where conditions have been thought to be
uninhabitable. The existence of these extremophile species, organisms living in conditions thought to
be unable to sustain life, on earth gives a boost to the possibility of outside life. Science also does not
have a full grasp on exactly what conditions are necessary to cause life to bloom (McAlpine). Just
because life is thought to only be able to thrive in certain conditions on Earth, does not mean
extraterrestrial life is bound by the same rules, especially if terrestrial species are known to
occasionally break the rules. Discovery of life existing away from planet Earth that does not meet the
preceded notions of what life must be like would lead scientists to better understand how life functions
and performs under countless situations and conditions. Space itself supports this as we ve discovered
things such as oceans in places we thought they couldn t exist (Drake). Oceans on earth are home to
millions of species and are hubs for aforementioned extremophile species, most of which remain
unknown to modern science. Since oceans on Earth are teeming with mysterious undiscovered life,
there is no telling what awaits at the bottom of deep space oceans. If scientists can understand how
species may be able to thrive in previously thought to be unlivable conditions, scientists can use those
discoveries to help humanity explore areas that would otherwise be perilous. Or perhaps, scientists
could potentially use understandings of extraterrestrial life to help humanity form a second home

The Illusions Of Education In Plato s The Republic
In the Republic, Plato starts his argument by saying that education in music and poetry should occur
before any physical training. This is due to the fact that our mental abilities develop much faster than
our physical strength. We use our brains to analyze the world around us by listening and learning from
others. When we re younger, our brains are more malleable and easier to manipulate. As children, we
re more likely to believe every story we hear because we don t know any better. Since children don t
know the difference between what s allegorical and what s the truth, everything presented to them is
the truth. Plato expresses his concern for this, as most of the stories children hear include arguing and
punishment. Children will then take this as the truth and view fighting as a normal and a reasonable
way to solve conflict. This is what makes narrative art and drama dangerous for children, who more or
less start off as decent people but are then corrupted by the allegories they hear during their childhood.
Adults, on the other hand, can still be corrupted by narrative art, though it s not as simple. Art uses
illusions to make one ignore the truth. Plato uses the example of a stick looking crooked when it s in
water. Despite our knowledge of the fact that the stick is indeed straight, we still see it as bent. The
same concept applies to illusions in art. As Plato describes, while we know that a trompe l œil painting
is two dimensional, we still see the objects within the painting as three dimensional. We can walk into
an art gallery with the pre conceived notion that every painting is in fact only two dimensional, and
still fall victim to the illusion. This, Plato states, is because it appeals to the inferior part of the human
soul. It ignores truth and measurements and is irrational to the point where it shouldn t make sense.
We re drawn to this inferior part of our soul as it allows us to rebel in ways that wouldn t be deemed
moral in other regards.
Poets, Plato believes, work in the same way as trompe l œil paintings. They are presented in one way
but represent something completely different. Poets create images that are far removed from the truth ,
therefore indulging the irrational part of the

Virgin Queen Elizabeth I Propaganda Essay
A porcelain face untouched by time, pearls galore, lace [insert more common characteristics] − this is
how one imagines Elizabeth I, the Virgin Queen . Even more importantly this is how she wanted to be
viewed. To say portraits of the Protestant monarch that played a key role in her transformation into
such an icon of agelessness and beauty, are purely propaganda is debatable. That being said, the
concept of propaganda is one of a rich and evolving history. What today s society views as propaganda
is obscured by the negative connotation of the very word itself. On the other hand, when looking at the
discourse of propaganda in relation to the time of Elizabeth I s reign and setting aside the
misconceptions of it being strictly atrocity propaganda, the portraits of the Queen do in fact use ...

Rather than being seen as the end of the Tudor dynasty due to her inability to marry and produce an
heir, she presents herself as the Virgin Queen, married to her people. Her reign is her marriage. This
concept is rooted once again like her gender in truth and is addressed in many of her portraits. This too
was exaggerated to heighten her to divine ruler status. At the beginning of her reign portraits showed
her as eligible to marry. But by the late 1570s her transition into the Virgin Queen was in full effect
and her portraits were a means to spread this new image. One of the countless portraits to propagate it
was The Rainbow Portrait painted around 1600 03. The portrait is saturated with symbols of her
divine virginity. She is once again, like The Armada Portrait adorned with pearls, a sign of purity.
Pearls are in her veil and headdress, connecting her sovereignty with the purity of the pearls. The veil
shows her as a maiden bride, but one to her people and faithful to them. There are also some symbols
in the portrait with mythical

Biofuel Powered Automobiles
Biofuel powered automobiles are an example of humans developing new technology to improve life.
Automobiles and plants, which are both capable of being engineered by humans, have immensely
impacted the United States of America and the world. The connection of automobiles and plants
demonstrates the significance of human innovation and ingenuity. One connection between
automobiles and plants is their ability to be engineered. Automobiles have been engineered with
several different engines throughout time. Electric, steam, and combustion powered engines were all
attempted during the early development of automobiles. Eventually, the combustion engine was
proven to be the easiest to mass produce and at the time, the most efficient. Automobiles ... Show

Automobiles have had an enormous impact on the entire world and all of humanity, but the United
States exemplifies this the best. Although the production and distribution of automobiles started in
Europe, Ford Motor Company expanded the business exponentially in the U.S. The invention and
improvement of automobiles allows individuals to travel. The railroad allows people to travel long
distances, but the automobile allows people to individually travel where they want at any time. It also
provides quicker daily travel which allows people to spend more time enjoying other leisure activities.
The automobile has revolutionized modern civilization by providing a convenient mean of
transportation. Plants have also revolutionized the world, and the U.S. exemplifies this. The United
States had an agrarian based economy that grew significantly during the late nineteenth century and
early twentieth century. The inventions of agricultural tools accelerated the planting and harvesting of
plants. This led to the employment of many more people, the use of much more land, and a rapid
population increase. These benefits of the agricultural growth helped revolutionize the U.S. and
expand it into a major world power. Human engineering of automobiles and plants has been
instrumental to the development of the United States and the

  • 2. Notting Hill Interview In early February of 2017, my eighty six year old grandmother fell and broke her arm in two places. Since then, she has been in a rehabilitation center called the Notting Hill of West Bloomfield. My family wanted the best care and recovery for my grandmother. After extensive research, my family found that Notting Hill was rated very highly for its physical and occupational therapy, and it did. However, from the first day the my grandmother was there, my grandmother, other family members of mine, and I noticed an unfortunate phenomenon that still occurs at this facility; patients are not being taken care of properly by the nurses and aides. These were the kind of things that we saw, and these were the things that worried us about the industry as it evolves. This description of his findings are very consistent with experiences I have personally witnessed. Like my mother, Thompson talks poorly trained staff and the miniscule amount of staff. These factors are what allow for such poor care in these facilities that happen around the country. In this interview, Thompson voices concern for the future of assisted living. The PBS interview supports my claim that there is an inability to properly take care of patients in living facilities, and that it is dangerous to elderly people or those with disadvantages. One way in which Thompson strengthens my claim is through his use of the word pattern. This word shows how common these problems are across the country in assisted living facilities. • 3. Examples Of Heroism In Slaughterhouse Five Another example of this technique, which is frequent all over the novel is the topic of three musketeers which Vonnegut recalls in the first chapter when one of his colleagues is eating a chocolate called a three Musketeers Candy bar , he mentions it again in chapter five page 129, when Billy s wife Valencia eats the same candy bar. It seems that the name of this chocolate reminds Vonnegut about the war and his friends which used to call their little group in the war The Three Musketeers . Slaughterhouse Five attacks the preconceived belief that war and its members represent bravery, glory or heroism. Vonnegut condemns the idea of war as justifiable means to come to the peace through the character of Roland Weary who gets captured by Germans together with Billy. • 4. Essay on Monetary Policy Introduction Monetary policy is among the many tools used by a national government to manipulate its financial system. Monetary policy refers to the method used by the financial authority of any country to control the supply and availability of money (Woelfel, 1994). It is often targeted at interest rates to achieve lay down objectives directed towards economic growth and stability (Woelfel, 1994). Monetary policy rests on the link between interest rates in an economy, that is, the relationship between interest rates and the total money supply. It employs a variety of methods to control outcomes like inflation, economic growth, currency exchange rates and unemployment. Monetary policy can either be expansionary policy in which case ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One of these approaches is quantitative easing (QE). Quantitative easing is a technique used by central banks to boost money supply in an economy when interest rates are close to or at zero thus cannot be reduced further (Woelfel, 1994). To increase the supply of money under such conditions, the central bank may be forced to buy government assets/securities like government bonds, mortgage backed securities or government debt from banks thus increase their surplus revenue hence raise or stabilize prices of such securities and consequently reduce interest rates in the long term. With this insight in mind, the remaining part of this essay seeks to critically examine the methods of implementing monetary policy when interest rates are close to or at zero. Monetary Policy Options at the Zero Bound Interest rates have the lowest bound at zero mark. When this limit is reached, serious problems occur in designing appropriate monetary policy approaches since interest rates can never be set below this mark. Countries like Japan, United States and Switzerland have faced this challenge in the recent past thus calling for alternative approaches to monetary policy when the nominal interest rate is close or at zero. Conventional monetary policy methods are always channeled towards lowering interest rates to stabilize inflation and other outputs. This is however impossible in situations whereby the interest rates are already close to or zero calling for ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This is Foucault s famous observation in The Birth of the Clinic ( as translated into English in 1973) where he illustrates the doctor patient relationship in terms of power, and the subject object hierarchy. The diseased body is in disorder, in a state of displacement, and its subjectivity is erased as it becomes subject to the doctor s examination. In several literary works of the nineteenth century, such representations of doctor patient relationship are to be found as corresponding to the Foucauldian pattern, that is, turning the patient s subjectivity into an object of the doctor s authoritative gaze. However, since Foucault himself has elsewhere insisted on the double meaning of subject (1982, 212), it is possible to problematize the doctor patient relation and attempt to come to terms with one s own subject object position within the established discourse of medical gaze. It is interesting, however, to examine how literary representations of doctor patient relationships across cultures and nationalities have interrogated the notion of seeing as an alternative mode of vision. Currently, there are two major plans being considered to try and fix the tax system in the United States. These two plans are the Flat Tax and the National Retail Sales Tax. Both the Flat Tax and a National Sales Tax would replace today s discriminatory tax structure with a single low rate. Either plan would promote the kind of capital formation that America needs to boost workers incomes and raise long term economic growth (Mitchell 1). This means that the flat tax would take away the savings from the government and pass them on to the citizens and businesses. By doing this, there would be a rise in long term economic growth. The national sales tax would replace our current income tax system by taxing goods and services. Under this system of taxation, people would pay taxes on every item purchased and not on income. This would help the economy through sales. There would no longer be an inheritance tax or a capital gains tax. The government would impose a 17.65 percent tax on the value of all final sales to consumers. To protect lower income citizens, the government would send all households periodic rebate checks, the net effect of which would be to offset the tax burden on purchase up to the poverty level (Mitchell 2). The goals of the Mexican revolution were to disperse wealth but the policies enacted made it difficult to make a living in a rural setting thus serving as a catalyst for a mass emigration to cities where people were could only find shelter in the slums (https://history.libraries.wsu.edu/spring2016/2016/01/20/the poverty and social stratification in mexico/). • 26. The Relationship Of Jesus And Christian Mentoring In The... Mentor is characterized as a wise and trusted advocate or instructor. Although tutoring/mentoring is not in the Bible, it gives us various cases of coaching. Moses was a great example of a mentoring relationship. The mentoring relationship among Eli and Samuel allowed Samuel to take on tasks and obligations that were his after Eli s demise. Jesus mentor His disciples, while Barnabas and Paul exceeded expectations in mentoring. Jesus made His style of mentoring clear. He led so we may follow. He stated if anybody will come after him, let them take up his cross and follow him. Since He is our leader and we are to follow Him, Christian mentoring is a procedure subordinate upon accommodation to Christ. Neither the mentor or mentee controls the relationship. The way toward mentoring is portrayed by sharing, trust, and enrichment as the life and work of the two members is changed. The mentor fills in as a model and a confided in audience. The guide depends on the Holy Spirit to give understanding, change lives, and educate through demonstration. Jesus and the apostles, as well as elders in the church do their work by mentoring. Peter states to be the example of the flock, and Paul discloses to the elders at Ephesus. Paul demonstrates to the elders, so that they may show others. If a Christian leader is not mentoring to that degree, he or she is not satisfying their calling. God has filled the group of Christ with potential mentors other than the individuals who are elders. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

One especially revealing point is in the beginning of the play he comes home from work and contradicts himself to no end, when talking about Biff he says Biff is a lazy bum! then later going on to contradict himself saying There s one thing about Biff he s not lazy later in the same dialogue. This shows that Willy is unstable in his thoughts and not in the right mind. Uncle Charley is the foil to Willy in the way Charley always set realistic goals and was very truthful to himself while Willy was always telling himself he was the best and he could do anything he wanted to which was not realistic. King Arthur Isolationist While it is true that some of the Arthurian Narratives show a violent process of cultural and geopolitical circulation, I believe claiming the whole of the Arthurian legend to be this way is problematic. The same can be said for the claim that Arthur is both expansionist and isolationist. These traits typically depend on the time period and the origin of the author. For example, Geoffrey of Monmouth shows a violent process of cultural and geopolitical circulation while also being isolationist in his Latin Historia Regum Britannie. After Arthur is crowned, he has to give a gift to all his men, but he has nothing to give, so Arthur, accordingly, in whom courage was combined with generosity, decided to harry the Saxons, so he could bestow their wealth on the retainers who served him. ... Biblical Eras Of Creation, The Patriarchs, And The Ketuvim Referred to as Tanak by Jews, the Hebrew Bible contains twenty four books characterized by three categories: The Torah, the Nevi im, and the Ketuvim, which outline the history and beliefs of the Jewish faith. The Torah, commonly known as the Law of Moses, contains the books of Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy. These five narrative books cover the Biblical eras of creation, the patriarchs, and the exodus. In Genesis 1, God created everything from nothing at His will in six days and proclaimed all of it good. Humankind was created, Adam and Eve, in God s image, and they lived in the pure garden of Eden. Sin is introduced to the world when a serpent convinces Eve, who subsequently convinces Adam, to eat from the the tree of good and evil, which God strictly forbade. God judged their sin, bans them from Eden, they went out in the world, and birthed sons Cain and Abel. After Cain killed Abel out of jealousy, God again judged sin by cursing Cain, but exemplified forgiveness in Genesis 6 through his promise to curse whoever tried to hurt him. Generations later, descendant of Adam, Noah, is introduced, as well as his wife Naamah and their sons Shem, Ham, and Japheth. In Genesis 6, God decided to start over, but saved Noah, his family, and animals, by telling Noah to build an ark to endure the great flood. Erosion and weathering are the main culprits behind the creation of these unique and beautiful attractions. The mechanical and chemical procedure that modify objects on Earth s surface over time are called weathering. Erosion is the method of taking weathered material from one region to another. Weathering is the breaking down of rock, soil, and minerals. Erosion is the development of being eroded by wind, water, or other natural causes. Weathering is grinding out of man made or natural landforms. Erosion is the weathering out of surface soil and rock worn way through natural causes like water and wind for example. Mechanical weathering is when physical procedures naturally breakdown rocks into reduced pieces. Chemical weathering changes the materials that are part of a rock into new resources. Examples of chemical weathering are water, acids, and oxidation. Water is important in chemical weathering because, most substances dissolve in water and acids are also essential since they increase the rate of chemical weathering even more. • 31. Simplified Evolution Model Of The Genetic Landscape Figure 10: Simplified evolution model of the genetic landscape in melanoma development and progression30. In sequence, melanoma formation is initiated by activating mutation in BRAF from the ERK MAPK pathway, which induces senescence forming a nevus. Mutation of TERT promoter, which increases transcriptional activity, as well as disruption of cell cycle control that abrogates cell cycle arrest (elevated levels observed in melanoma in situ) are events that allows the bypass of OIS mechanism proceeding towards melanoma transformation. Copy number alteration (CNA) is observed exclusively in invasive malignant melanoma alongside mutations in p53 and PTEN tumor suppressors suggesting that these alterations are important in the event of cancer cell invasion and dissemination. Mutation burden, specifically point mutations (indicative of UVR damage) increases throughout progression. Frequency of the driver oncogenes remains constant throughout tumor progression. 9. Management and therapeutic approach of disease Surgical removal is the standard treatment for localized primary melanomas. Localized melanomas are exceedingly curable when removed properly within the recommended excision margins (maximum 2cm according to the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) guidelines for melanoma). The thought is we should give without expecting anything in return, and what will return to us is happiness. The Giving Tree illustrates both the difficulty as well as the reward of unconditional love and giving. The Giving Tree begins with a boy who befriends a tree. Each day the boy would come to the tree and play with her leaves and climb her branches. When he would get tired he would take a nap in the shade of the tree; and the tree was happy (Silverstein). However, as time went on and the boy got older, he had less frequent trips to visit the tree. Time went on and the boy returned. The tree wanted the boy to play on her ... He had lived his life and even after he had taken all the tree had, she was still happy he was there. This showed the unconditional love she had for him, even when he gave little in return. The Giving Tree also shows a bit of selfishness. The boy seemed to be more interested in material possessions instead of the tree s feelings. It could also argue the point that humans need to have respect for the environment instead of taking advantage of the resources it provides. Eventually, if humans take everything, there will be nothing left to give like the story suggests. We can relate The Giving Tree to parents and their children. A parent would do almost anything to help and care for their child. They also want to be involved in their child s life as they grow older. As we grow older, we can forget where we come from and who helped us get where we are. We begin to miss that peace of mind as time goes on, and we return to our roots to rest and catch up with our loved ones. The Realist Theory Of International Relations When Arab spring started to influence various countries in Middle East and North Africa with domino effect in 2010, Libya was one of these countries. There were uprisings in the regions because of the bad economic conditions, lack of the democracy, human rights, and people s demand for democracy of the cruel dictators. The demands or discomforts were same in Libya, but process of the Muammar al Gaddafi s regime s end was different from others as it was intervened by coalition states and NATO. Libya s intervene was carried out by the 1973 numbered resolution of United Nations Security Council in March, 2011. The reasons of the intervention were expanding democracy in the region, ending Gaddafi s violence through civilians and changing the regime. However, unlike other interventions in international area, it was quick and sudden. Therefore it was obvious that other than providing good life conditions to Libyan people, there were also other purposes of the coalition states through Libya s rich resources. Realism theory On the realist theory of International Relations, the basic assumption of this theory is that states in their foreign affairs, must pursue power, and ensure that they act rationally with the most appropriate step that will be taken to perpetuate the life of the state in a hostile and threatening environment. A key principle of realist theory is that of survival and it could be argued that in the domestic politics governments create and enforce laws to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

He states in the excerpt that he wanted to . . . live so sturdily and Spartan like as to put to rout all that is not life, (Thoreau, 2). Thoreau criticizes his fellow humans when he states that they have somewhat hastily concluded that it is the chief end of man here to glorify God and enjoy him forever, (Thoreau, 2). The indicated quotation shows that Thoreau believes that his fellow citizens have not actually taken the time to look at all the facts of life in order to make an educated decision about what life is for. Thoreau intends to tell the world what life is about since he believes that many humans are in a strange uncertainty about it, whether it is of the devil or of God, (Thoreau, 2). If people are uncertain about who created life, Thoreau suggests that they take away all the superficial aspects of it and examine its bare bones. However, many people wish to live extravagantly and do not know who or what created life, nor do they wish to give up their material possessions to find out. In the event that people did discern what life was and who created it, Thoreau would not have to be critical of them as they would live the way he did and they would not have anything that was not necessary for their survival, which would itself make them happy. Thus, if humankind cared more about the basics of life rather than its extravagance, Thoreau might not have felt the need to disapprove of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Crosby and Juran view the cost of quality as the focus of measurement whereas Deming does not use the cost of quality as a focus (Suarez, 1992, p.18). To Deming, meeting the customers needs and expectations about a product or service is of higher importance to quality. He also considers unknown costs such as the impact of lost customers to be more significant than visible costs (Suarez, 1992, p.18). Deming, Juran, and Crosby all define quality in different ways. • 41. The Illusions Of Education In Plato s The Republic In the Republic, Plato starts his argument by saying that education in music and poetry should occur before any physical training. This is due to the fact that our mental abilities develop much faster than our physical strength. We use our brains to analyze the world around us by listening and learning from others. When we re younger, our brains are more malleable and easier to manipulate. As children, we re more likely to believe every story we hear because we don t know any better. Since children don t know the difference between what s allegorical and what s the truth, everything presented to them is the truth. Plato expresses his concern for this, as most of the stories children hear include arguing and punishment. Children will then take this as the truth and view fighting as a normal and a reasonable way to solve conflict. This is what makes narrative art and drama dangerous for children, who more or less start off as decent people but are then corrupted by the allegories they hear during their childhood. Adults, on the other hand, can still be corrupted by narrative art, though it s not as simple. Art uses illusions to make one ignore the truth. Plato uses the example of a stick looking crooked when it s in water. Despite our knowledge of the fact that the stick is indeed straight, we still see it as bent. The same concept applies to illusions in art. As Plato describes, while we know that a trompe l œil painting is two dimensional, we still see the objects within the painting as three dimensional. We can walk into an art gallery with the pre conceived notion that every painting is in fact only two dimensional, and still fall victim to the illusion. This, Plato states, is because it appeals to the inferior part of the human soul. It ignores truth and measurements and is irrational to the point where it shouldn t make sense. We re drawn to this inferior part of our soul as it allows us to rebel in ways that wouldn t be deemed moral in other regards. Poets, Plato believes, work in the same way as trompe l œil paintings. They are presented in one way but represent something completely different. Poets create images that are far removed from the truth , therefore indulging the irrational part of the ...
