The Third Movement Of Johann Sebastian Bach
Johann Sebastian Bach lived in Leipzig from 1723 until his death in 1750. In Leipzig, he was the
music director of the Collegium Musicum, which presented a series of evening concerts that brought
visitors and musical talent to the city. An example of the repertoire presented in these concerts would
be Bach s harpsichord concertos, which were arrangements of other concertos for different
instruments. According to Pankratz, these concertos (both for the original instrument and harpsichord)
were written with didactic purposes, meaning that they were supposed to help the students improve
their musical skills. Following Pankratz s idea of Bach being a music director with instructive goals,
this paper suggests that the third movement of the Harpsichord Concerto No.5 in F minor, BWV 1056
by Johann Sebastian Bach is a prime example of his pedagogic influence in Leipzig, represented by
the constant interaction between the soloist and the ripieno. This is symbolic of the teacher student
relation Bach had with the students, as he would often be the solo performer in the evening concerts
and the students would play the ripieno parts.
The interaction between the soloist and the ripieno comes in various forms: advanced counterpoint,
dynamics, dialogue, and/or harmonic changes. The work features three ritornello themes in which we
find all these interactions. The first theme (R1) is the main theme and it is four measures long. The
interaction is presented with the soloist simply playing

Toyota s Production System And How It Works With The...
In this paper we will discuss Toyota s Production System and how it works with the strategy of their
business. We will define their mission and visions goals and their core principles as it applies to their
company. This paper will also discuss their basic approaches and general practices. It is also important
to understand what the Toyota Production System entails and how Lean operations began.
For instance, according to Stevenson, lean operation is a flexible system of operations that uses
considerably fewer resources than a traditional system. For example, Lee s Transportation owned by
Tony and Lisa Jones, can no longer operate due to several vehicle accidents caused by their drivers.
This has resulted in an increase in their insurance premiums with All State and the premiums are too
expensive for them to maintain their business. This unfortunate situation has caused a great hardship
and Tony and Lisa have no other option than to discharge their employees. Eventually, they coordinate
with a business partner and financial advisor and are able to start their company again under a changed
name, Loving Hands. They are now able to obtain insurance coverage through State Farm.
The Jones re hire their previous employees but with new policies and procedures implemented. They
have incorporated monthly staff meetings on safety while driving, online training courses quarterly, in
addition to driving classes being mandatory and held annually. Tony and Lisa executes strict policies

Descriptive Essay About Ocean City
Ocean CIty is a beautiful vacation place, not just for the summer. Many people go there to relax, make
memories and have a good time. It is a fun filled, family friendly vacation place that everyone will
enjoy and it is worth the drive. Ocean city has a lot of history to go with it. The first hotel was built by
Isaac Coffin in 1869, it was the first beachfront cottage to receive paying guests. People came to fish,
relax, enjoy the beauty of the ocean, and enjoy the sand. Then later there were houses being built on
the strip of sand. Ocean City extends nearly 10 miles from the southern inlet to the Delaware line.
Now there are hotels, motels, apartment houses and condos. Ocean city expanded when the
Chesapeake Bay bridge was finished.By the 1970 s there were big businesses and more apartments
being built. Now there are hotels, condos, apartments, and stores everywhere you look. Ocean City is
located near Fenwick Island, near the Delaware line. On the drive there you go on the Chesapeake Bay
bridge. On the bridge you get a beautiful view of the bay and you see boats going all around you and
under you. It is a three to four hour drive depending on traffic. Once you get to Ocean City, depending
on where you are, there is a view of the bay on one side and on the other side you have a beautiful
view of the waves and the sand. One downfall of this vacation is if you stay at Seaside Retreat on
138th street. When we got there the rooms were not clean. The cleaning service came

Toubou People
The Toubou people first appeared in the 5th century BC, which is when they took over the range and
turned it into their home. They raised their families, traded their livestock, and harvested their crops
here. The ancient Toubou also painted and engraved beautiful rock art that archeologists later
discovered. Lastly, there are still Toubou people living in the Tibesti Mountains to this day.
The Tibesti Mountains, also known as the Tibesti Massif, are extremely dangerous and volcanic
mountains. They extend into northeastern Niger and southern Libya, but they are mostly located in
northwestern Chad. They are about 300 miles long and up to 175 miles wide. With the elevation being
11,302 , they are the highest ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Most of the art found can date from anywhere between 4,000 to 12,000 years or more. Archaeologists
believe that some of the missing rock art could have been up to 33,000 years old. The animals that
were carved or painted were the animals that were hunted or lived in their nearby are, some of which
are now extinct. Some of these animals that are still around today include hippos, rhinos, elephants,
giraffes, and even fish. Some of the new paintings include ostriches and antelope. Another type of
engraving they would see often would be owoza, which were portray warriors, wearing feathers and
they were armed with shields and knives. Some were dance scenes. Some paintings discovered were
over 6 feet in height. The art shows the culture of the ancient people of Chad. During the Pastoral
period, the engravings or paintings showed men herding their cattle or hunting, while the women and
children were hanging around camp. In addition, there was a lot of horse art found, which is some of
the most interesting art. The paintings of the scenes that are more pastoral are painted with a red base
because the red base signifies towards domestication in the Tibesti Mountains. There is so much rock
art in the Tibesti Mountains that archaeologists believe they have only found less than half of the art
that is still out there. Jeremy Curl, an explorer, states, There have only been a handful of expeditions
to the Tibesti in the last hundred years because it is so remote and inaccessible. It s time for a new one.
He took a trip through the Tibesti Mountains to view some of the amazing rock art. There has been
around 200 engraving sights and 100 painting sights discovered. Although the paintings and
engravings have went through time and weathering, you can still see most of the art clearly. Rock art
is still an extremely important part of Toubou people s lives. The reason

Mixed Ability Research Paper
Ability setting and mixed ability classes In 2006 the Department for Education and Skills (DfES)
published a document to serve as guidance for schools across the UK about the benefits of grouping
and setting according to age and ability, for teachers and for students (DfES, 2006). The never ending
search for strategies to attain better results lead policy makers in the UK to continue the promotion of
setting pupils by ability, despite research suggesting no consistent evidence that structured ability
grouping will produce positive effects on attainment on any particular group of pupils (Hallam Ireson,
2005). Nonetheless, research suggests that it may have negative effects on particular groups of pupils
in terms of personal and social ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Research also suggests that teachers tend to feel the pressure of government guidance s and school s
ethos and policies as an important force in determining their beliefs (Hallam Ireson, 2003), but their
attitudes towards teaching seem to be mostly influenced by their experience in their subjects with their
classes (Hallam Ireson, 2003; Hallam Ireson, 2005; Kutnick, Blatchford, Clark, MacIntyre, Baines,
2005). The government guidance acknowledges that setting doesn t guarantee full homogeneity within
the groups and therefore differentiation is still necessary in lessons, as they need to be tailored
specifically to their profile and allow the implementation of strategies that able pupils to be stretched
in their different capacities (DfES, 2006). Nevertheless, intelligent use of group setting would allow
teachers to plan with more confidence, allocate resources like teaching assistants to more demanding
groups (DfES, 2006), and differentiate their approach to different groups. The main argument in favor
of setting pupils by ability tends to be that more able pupils need some form of separate grouping and
an environment where they can freely be stretched to the maximum of their potential without feeling
inhibited by their peers (Hallam Ireson, 2003; Hallam Ireson, 2005; Hallam, Rogers, Ireson, 2008).
Most research supports this argument and there is an overall agreement amongst teachers in the

Warner Bros Fair Use Doctrine
The protection of intellectual property is important and necessary in order to promote progress. The
idea is that by trading exclusive rights to the creators of inventions and creative works in exchange
that the creative work or invention to be available to the public is mutually beneficial to both the rights
holder and society in general. By granting these rights, the creators and owners are able to benefit both
socially and financially from that which they created. This provides an incentive for people to pursue
the creation of and the investment in intellectual property. There are however limits to the rights of
such inventions and creative works. The Fair Use Doctrine recognizes and creates exceptions to

was the source of Fortres Grand s Clean Slate product. At both the district court level and at the 7th
Circuit of Appeals, this argument was rejected. The court found that it was implausible that a
reasonable person would go to the fictitious website and believe that the product there was created and
marketed by Fortres Grand. Conversely, it was equally implausible that anyone going to the Fortres
Grand website would believe that the products there were produced by Warner Bros. As a result of this
finding, the courts did not need to go any further to address any First Amendment or Fair Use issues.
The court further found that the use of the term the clean slate in the movie was not a trademark
infringement. They found that the term is too broad in its meaning or application for its use to be
restricted in other endeavors such as the movie. It seems that what Fortres Grand was really concerned
about was trademark dilution. The claim would be that the use of the clean slate in its movies and on
the promotional website would damage the Clean Slate mark and make it less appealing to consumers.
This would only be valid if the mark was considered famous which Fortres Grand knew would not be
the case with their Clean Slate program. This is probably why they chose to purse the claim of
consumer confusion instead of trademark

Why Are Camera Angles Look Smaller, Harmless, Scarier
Camera angles play a massive part by making the characters look bigger, smaller, harmless, and
scarier . The director uses two main types of camera angles, high, and low angles. High angles look
down on a person, making then look smaller. Low angles look up to a person making them look
bigger. Lighting gives shadows to the character making them look bigger, and scarier , it also sets off
an atmosphere (happy, scary, and dull). When Ms. Trunchbull barges into the classroom the lighting is
very dark, dull, and sinister. The camera angles they use were a low angle, making her look bigger,
taller, and scarier. The end scene with Matilda, and Miss. Honey, the lighting was very bright, happy,

A Summary Of Finding Nemo
Watched by many, the movie Finding Nemo is a good movie for explaining Vygotsky s theories
because there is a wide variety of characters adults, children and even teachers. The adult characters in
the movie Finding Nemo portray the adolescence developmental stages, as explained by Vygotsky.
Many more of Vygotsky s theories are found in the movie. Some include the zone of proximal
development, egocentric speech, scaffolding, and scientific and spontaneous concepts.
Both being clown fish, Nemo and Marlin live in the ocean, in the anemone. Marlin is Nemo s father
who is viewed as being overprotective towards Nemo. Marlin portrays the characteristic of being
overprotective because while Nemo was in the egg as a baby, one of his fins was damaged. Nemo,
tired of his overprotective father decides that he wants to prove himself by swimming into the open
ocean. However, things do not turn out very well and Nemo is captured by a scuba diver. Parenting
instinct kick in, and Marlin immediately swims after the boat that is now carrying Nemo. Marlin
eventually loses sight of the boat, however throughout the duration of the movie, he continues to look
for his son Nemo. While on his journey to find Nemo, Marlin meets a blue tang fish named Dory, who
suffers from sort term memory loss (Stanton Unkrich,2003). With the help of Dory, they are able to

Sunday Morning By Wallace Stevens
Wallace Stevens a well known American poet once said, In poetry, you must love the words, the ideas
and the images and rhythms with all your capacity to love anything at all. In these lines, Stevens
beautifully reveals that poetry is all about enjoying each line and each and every part of the poem as it
would give you satisfaction and love for poetry as never before. Similarly, Stevens wrote a
magnificent piece of work Sunday Morning , with various pieces of literary devices to enhance his
poetry making it descriptive and enjoyable to read. For example, the use of techniques such as
symbolism, theme, imagery, and tone Sunday Morning displays the clash that the speaker endures as
she questions the Christian religion and her discovery of love for nature. It is evident throughout the
poem that the woman has difficulty finding happiness in religion and enjoys nature, finding it to be
inspiring unlike religion that can be destructive and disappointing. The poem starts out with strong

that result from Christianity and wonders how life would be if revolved around nature instead of
religion. The poems message that nature must be adored because it is not permanent and everything
that is temporary is worth living allowed readers like me to really wonder if every religion is the same

Living In A Residential Community Analysis
Living in a residential community seems pretty similar to living in a dorm in college, which was not a
problem for me. Pros are being able to meet new people and having a stronger sense of independence.
Also, because you re surrounded by other DIS students, everyone is in a similar situation and is
probably experiencing the same concerns; it would be nice to have other students to talk with about
similar struggles or triumphs. The biggest cons would probably be feeling like you have no time to
yourself as well as possibly not interacting enough with Danish locals. As a roommate, I m a mostly
clean and quiet person. I m also a heavy sleeper and I love to sleep in but I can also rally pretty early if

Essay Race and Political Power in the Pre-Civil War Period
Race and Political Power in the Pre Civil War Period
How did race translate itself into political power during this period, and how did Blacks attempt to
combat that power.
Racism has been the most provocative topic in American history; it has seemed to transcend other
struggles, and fester its way into almost every facet of American culture. It has grown like weeds in an
unattended garden in to the ideology of America. Politicians use it as a tool for reelection,
corporations use it as a way to exploit, and the media uses it as a way to control. But the underlying
question is where did it come from, how did it translate itself into political power, and how and what
did African Americans do to combat that power. Many of the answers to ... Show more content on

Central to these laws was the provision that black slaves, and the children of slave women, would
serve for life. This premise, combined with the natural population growth among the slaves, meant
that slavery could survive and grow even after slave imports were outlawed in 1808. This was one of
the first instances of race translating itself into political power in early colonial America.
By the middle of the 18th century slavery was widely accepted in the colonies. There was no way to
hide it, between 1680 and 1750 the proportion of slaves in America grew from 4.6 of the population to
over 20 percent. In the southern colonies slavery went from about 5 percent to 40 percent of the
population. Throughout most of the colonial period, opposition to slavery among white Americans
was virtually nonexistent. Settlers in the 17th and early 18th centuries came from sharply stratified
societies in which the wealthy savagely exploited members of the lower classes. Lacking a later
generation s belief in natural human equality, they saw little reason to question the enslavement of
Africans. As they sought to mold a docile labor force, planters resorted to harsh, repressive measures
that included liberal use of whipping and branding. That way of thinking would change, as the
colonies would move toward war.
The coming of the American Revolution would change the way Americans thought about slavery. In

Impairment In Iowana Essay
Currently, Iowa has some of the worst waters in the nation. The Clean Water Act requires states to
biannually test surface water to determine impairments. The Iowa Department of Natural Resources
defines impairment as A waterbody is impaired when its water quality does not fully support that
waterbody s designated uses for human contact, aquatic life, or drinking water. They note that an
impairment on one part of a stream or river does not necessarily mean that at other points of the
waterbody it is constituted as impaired. The meaning deals with what the waterbody is designated for
and whether it meets the standards set for that use. The amount of Iowa water bodies listed as
impaired is very high, but there are also many bodies that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The options we have available to alleviate this situation are few. One option, considered by many is
simply to do nothing. This is advanced by many who believe that since we can treat the water we
should not be placing any more burden upon our farmers. Most Republicans in the state legislature
believe this is the best idea, because it is better to have the Des Moines Water Works to have to pay to
fix the water than to place costly measure upon farmers and hurt out economy. However, this option
does not fix our increasingly polluted water, and does not help fix the increasing Dead Zone.
DMWW already tried suing upstream farmers and counties to have their runoff under the Clean Water
Act however, the judge declared that the issue should be left to the state legislature. Those listed in the
lawsuit were farmers located in the counties of Buena Vista, Calhoun, and Sac, each in Northern Iowa
and feeding waters into the Raccoon River. Because this legal action was thrown out, the judicial
approach is an unlikely path for any future policy change in this instance. Because of the judge s
ruling that the legislature is the only way to change this, that means a bill is how it will have to be
fixed. The best option to alleviate farm runoff would be to impose similar regulations to what the state
of Minnesota has done. The

Speech On The Flag Desecration Amendment
n the How a Member Decides to Vote module you are asked to act as a congressman and vote on the
flag desecration amendment. This amendment was proposed to punish people that desecrated the flag
by burning, spitting, walking on, or anything else that would belittle the flag. By doing this you learn
to look at the many different viewpoints that were presented to you in the activity to try and sway your
vote. These viewpoints includes those of people like William Cramer and Tony Lorenza that say by
disrespecting the flag that it dishonors the thousands of men and women who have died protecting the
flag, or the viewpoints of people like Carole Richards, Ed Carpenter, and Alberta Washington that said
that it is what the people of the country and your district, that you are representing, wanted to be done.
The people for the amendment also stated that burning the flag wasn t a way of speech that it was a
violent act that people should be punished for. The people such as Tanya Johnson, Patricia Pearlman,
and Anna Ross that say that voting for this amendment would violate the First Amendment and would
violate one of the important principles of our democracy and would make our government more
totalitarian. You also have the viewpoints of George Watson and Samuel Jefferson both veterans that

the excessive explicit material, that kids at such young ages should not be exposed to. There are
however some good reasons for kids to use Instagram. Instagram gives children a chance to express

One of which would be the use and enforcement of safety programs or failsafe systems for parents to
implement child locks on their Instagram. If we can find a way to block channels on the television,
and block inappropriate web pages from our computers then we should be able to apply the same sort
of safety control to our social media pages as well. According to a post from an article titled 5

you to determine who follows you. With privacy settings, sending out a request is the only way to
become a follower of someone. This way is a lot safer than having a public profile because only those
who you approve to follow you can see your pictures. Privacy settings also keep away unwanted
followers because everyone who wants to follow you has to go through your dashboard and be
approved by you. Without Privacy Settings on, it isn t only your followers who can see your picture.
Anyone can search your profile and find your pictures and profile if you don t have Privacy Settings
on. This is my exact point, Instagram has setting in place for your safety but sometimes, children have
a tendency to go behind parents back and undo these safety features. If parents aren t checking their

been able to adequately do so. Having no knowledge of the rules, terminology, or tactics behind the
game, one could conclude that I knew next to nothing about racquetball. During the length of the
course I spent much of my time on the court learning, improving, and developing an understanding of
the activity. I have developed an appreciation for the game and those who play it. Racquetball itself
proves to be much more complex than what I had originally though. Cleary simply hitting the ball
does not prove to be an proficient play style as I had once assumed. This will no doubt defer me from
making assumptions about other sports in the future. This was a worthwhile learning experience as a
whole, and developing an appreciation for the game is not the only thing I will take away from this
class. Alongside debunking any misconceptions I once had, racquetball also reinforced the importance
of diet in the everyday lifestyle. Aside from the countless things learned on the court, I

Organ Donation
Get him into the O.R. stat! After applying yourself to be a recipient for a donation, you will be added
to the waiting list for that organ. This can take months, if not years. Receiving an organ can be sudden
whenever an organ match has been found for you. We should reevaluate organ donation due to
someone s personal religion, inability to benefit the poor, numerous hospital visits, and potential
endangerment to their own well being. Therefore, in 2009, organ transplants became a demand
everywhere so abruptly that countless nationalities began selling their organs in return for money
(HRSA 1). Eighty one percent of commercial living donors (CLDs) in Egypt spent their Kidney

Krasnolutska also states that the Israeli eastern European organ trafficking rings extended their reach
to the United States. In July 2009, the Justice Department charged Levy Rosenbaum, an Israeli in New
York, with conspiracy of human organ trafficking. A Federal Bureau of Investigation agent caught
Rosenbaum offering a kidney for $160,000 (Budiani Saberi 37). Laws designed to prevent trafficking
are currently unsuccessful. While prosecutors in places such as Israel, Brazil, Kosovo and Ukraine
have successfully eliminated some of the organ trading gangs, they re still fighting powerful economic
forces. As long as there s a worldwide shortage of legal donors for life saving transplants, the
exploitation of the poor will only grow. Unless governments around the world enforce existing laws
on prohibiting procedures, the traffickers will continue to cultivate a growing legion of impoverished
organ sellers who end up with an immense wad of cash, says Glovin (Budiani Saberi 39 40). As a
result, suspicions of organ trades between Hong Kong and China in 1989 caused the Tiananmen
Square massacre arose. The Amnesty International noted an increase in China s submissions for the
death penalty, and reported on the use of executed prisoners organs without their consent. Dr. Ronald
D. Guttman, a McGill University professor, showed that after 1989, about ninety percent of China s
transplants came from executed prisoners. Along with Ronald Guttman was Forsythe stating that

Examples Of Whistleblowing
When a person feels that something illegal or ethically wrong is happening in their place of work,
what can they do? That person has the right to go to their administration about the acts that are
occurring. (GAP) This action would be called whistle blowing. Furthermore, whistle blowers would
be protected by law from repercussions from coming forward about the ethical or illegal issue.
(Hallman, 2012) The organization that protects accountants and other financial professionals within
the field of business is the IMA. For example, one case involving a whistle blower within the
accounting field was in 1989. In 1988 James Holzrichter, who was a young auditor with Northrop
Grumman in Rolling Meadows, IL, suspected fraud within the company. He noticed that on certain
transactions, Northrop was inflating their costs to get larger payments in return from the government
agency they were auditing.(Behn) At the same time, his co worker Rex Robinson who was a test
engineer for the company noticed fraud was occurring. (Merle,2005) Robinson and Holzrichter
noticed that the parts weren t even being tested, they were throwing them away. They wiped these
parts from the inventory to make them look like they were already used, so they would have to buy the
parts over again to actually finish the project. In the end, they were billing them for twice for each part
used in the process. (Carozza, 2015) Holzrichter and his co worker Rex Robinson found they were

Essay The Death of Socrates
The Death of Socrates Viewing the painting The Death of Socrates by Jacques Louis David, one can
perceive many different subject matters, both literally and metaphorically. The obvious is seen within
the setting of the painting. The clear illustration of where the event is happening provides the onlooker
with a glimpse into a different time and era. Conversely, the artist has taken the liberty to hide deep
meaning inside the work of art through less apparent means. Symbolism through art work has endured
from early works to contemporized ones, here is no different. Taking the two aforementioned into
consideration gives us a glimpse into both the symbolic and factual significance of the occasion. What
we can term as the Roman ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Given the body of a Greek god, Socrates seems far from frail and is bursting with strength and power.
Furthermore, to give Socrates an air of wisdom, he was given a beard. The beard which is
representative of knowledge and intelligence flows freely upon the great teacher as his time of
execution approaches. While appearing to have the divinity of a god, Socrates is still painted with
physical emotion. The duality of being godly and human at the same time may have been a recurring
theme at the time this was painted. Not only looking at the mere representation of the figure who is
Socrates, but by examining how he is situated among others in the painting also uncovers meaning in
of itself. Studying the way that Socrates body is situated you can see that the artist is trying to make a
statement of nobility in self sacrifice. The finger of Socrates is pointed upward and is in the highest
position in the chamber. Much like a mountain commands the landscape, so does Socrates finger in a
room full of disarray and uncertainty. This can also tells us that although ready to die and in his final
hour, his teachings and beliefs will continue to live on. Although Socrates is on his deathbed he still
continues to teach and philosophize. Something else that should be noted is the posture of Socrates.
His back is completely erect with no support. Everyone else in the picture

Periodontal Therapy Essay
The goal of periodontal therapy is to provide the patients with a dentition that functions in health and
comfort for the remainder of their lives. Ideally, periodontal therapy should resolve inflammation,
arrest progression of disease, maximize patient comfort, maintain aesthetics, and regenerate lost
periodontal support1.
Periodontal regeneration is defined histologically as regeneration of the tooth s supporting tissues,
including alveolar bone, periodontal ligament and cementum over a previously diseased root surface2.
Great strides are being made to achieve this goal using bone grafts and various other regenerative
procedures3. With the exception of blood, bone is the most frequently transplanted tissue in the human
body. Virtually every operative day, orthopaedic surgeons, neurosurgeons, craniofacial surgeons and
periodontists need to fill bony defects or augment deficient bone. The major types of commonly used

Rice for Thanksgiving by Jocelyn Fong states that what comes to her mind with Thanksgiving

Preface
The Impact of Information Technology on the Workforce of the Future
To determine the impact of information technology on the workforce of the future, I conducted a study
using an historical perspective on the use of information technology in the workplace and by the
workforce.
This study also considered recent trends in workforce management such as telecommuting,
globalization, outsourcing, and off shoring activities. The results of this study revealed that
technological advances in office equipment over the past thirty years have enabled organizations to
improve operating efficiencies, improve communications, reduce costs, increase their global presence,

Computers loaded with word processing, spreadsheet analysis and presentation software programs
have become standard fixtures on each employee s desk. Some of the workforce became mobile,
conducting business outside of the traditional office settings through the use of Personal Digital
Assistants (PDAs), cellular phones and laptop computers. The initial users of mobile technology were
salespeople and executive management; however, easier access to the Internet allowed more
employees to become telecommuters, who conducted work related activities either from their homes
or from some other remote location.
Technological advances in electronic communication may continue to decrease the need for traditional
office setting while increasing the number of telecommuters. Electronic capabilities will also continue
to affect outsourcing, off shoring and globalization efforts by many organizations.
Collaboration technologies, currently being enhanced by Microsoft and IBM, may enable companies
to conduct virtual meetings in the near future. In a virtual meeting, employees from remote locations
conduct real time meetings from their own computers using peer to peer software. Participants can see
one another on computer screens, share computer space and make changes to product designs or
contract documents via a virtual whiteboard.

Memi And Sambu Essay
Sculptures have been a part of human cultures for many centuries. They have been depictions of gods,
tell stories, honor spirits, and celebrations. Today many sculptures have helped tell the way of life and
history of prehistoric times. Sculptures can be described as the art of carving, modeling, welding, or
otherwise producing figurative or abstract works of art in three dimensions, as in relief, intaglio, or in
the round. (Dictionary.com, 2017)Two ancient sculptures include the Statue of Memi and Sabu and
Seated Statue of Gudea, which have unique physiognomies.
Statue of Memi and Sabu is an Egyptian sculpture, or probably from Memphite Region, Giza, Western
Cemetery, which dates back to the Old Kingdom, Dynasty 4, ca. 2575 2465 B.C. It is a painted
limestone statue, which evokes the closeness of Memi and his companion, Sabu, a non royal couple in
a standing position. On the base of the statue, one would see that it does include inscripted lettering
(The Met s Heilbrunn Timeline of Art History, 2017) It could be interpreted that Memi and Sabu are a
possible couple based on the intimate hug and his left hand on Sabu left breast. A non intimate couple
would not engage in such a dear embrace. The sculpture is reactively small, according to Metropolitan

Ordinary People Character Analysis

as a path to spiritual enlightenment to reach a higher state of consciousness and a union with the

IEP s were an improvement Educational plan for those who needed help, in the way, help could
benefit them. Based on the focus group, Sharpe and Hawes (2003), they generally found, teachers
almost wholly disregarded the results of large scale assessments in the consideration of IEP goals and
objectives (Christenson, 2004). Government funded money to help our children with their difficulties
in learning, is not being allocated for those purposes. Many of these struggling learners are headed
towards dropout status, because they don t regurgitate well for tests. One might argue that just because
they failed a test doesn t meant they will drop out of school. However, there is overwhelming evidence
that shows students retained in a grade at one point or another, are more likely to drop out of school. If
students are retained for not passing an exam, it sends a message to them that they are a failure. This
goes hand in hand with some of the many reasons why students drop out of school, some of which are
due to pressure of passing tests, or not passing tests or even fear of failing or looking like a failure.

Residential Schools Vs. Public Schools
Residential School s were introduced back in the 1870 s, they were made to change the way native
children spoke their languages and how they viewed their cultures. The residential school system in
Canada was operated by the government, where the native children were aggressively forced away
from their loved ones to participate in these schools (1000 Conversations). The government had a
concept, where they can modernize the native children, aged of three to eighteen and extinguish the
aboriginal culture. In the twentieth century the Canadian Public School s had arrived and had
improved treatments than residential schools. In Contrast, the treatments within these schools were
both different, whereas Canadian public school students had more freedom than residential school
students because children were taken away from their families. However, the treatment in these
schools were different and some what similar. Even though Residential schools and Canadian Public
schools were similar in some form, there were numerous amounts of differences in how the children
were taught, how they were treated and how their living conditions were like throughout these
schools.
Residential schools were the one of the worst decisions the Canadian government had made. As they
planned this idea with the churches across Canada, it became unforgettable for the native people.

Sociology, its thoughts it methods, conceptual schemes and theories have been based on and built up

Human Trafficking And The Media
Human trafficking has become an emerging worldwide public health crisis that has been understudied
and under published by both society and the media. Human trafficking has affected men, woman, and
children in varying ways. Human trafficking is not solely sex trafficking it is segmented into various
categories. Trafficking includes but is not limited to sexual exploitation, forced labor, debt bondage,
involuntary servitude, and trafficking of cells and organs. The way the media frames human
trafficking has a rippling effect towards the audience and societies perspective. Positively using the
media can influence society and can possibly help fight against human trafficking. The Convention on
the Rights of the Child (CRC), along with the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of
Discrimination against Women (CEDAW), and the 14th Amendment have all stated their views
against human trafficking. The United States Department of State (2015) states, trafficking in persons,
human trafficking, and modern slavery have been used as umbrella terms for the act of recruiting,
harboring, transporting, providing, or obtaining a person for compelled labor or commercial sex acts
through the use of force, fraud, or coercion (p. 7). Human trafficking is mostly thought of as sex

Plato´s The Symposium and it theme Compared to the French...
Life is pink, or so says Louis Armstrong s version of Edith Piaf s beautiful French song, La Vie En
Rose. Plato is arguably the most famous philosopher from Ancient Greece. The Symposium, one of
Plato s most famous works, is a brilliant piece of literature centered on a group of men telling their
own versions of what they believe to be Love. The Goddess of Love however, is the main focus of
Plato s work more so than the act of actually being in love. This becomes the men s main focal point
for the duration of their speeches. Both the story and the song, depict versions of love of Love that are
relatively common. In the soft tones of La Vie En Rose, the perfection of what being in love can
become is heard clearly. Believing that everything is wonderful and it could never change is a
symptom of the rose coloured glasses Armstrong is singing about. Socrates in believes that Love can
be both horrible and bad. There are people who believe that love is the solution to all of their
problems, and those who believe that there are bad aspects that come with being in love. Hundreds of
years apart, and these two men are trying to send different messages about the same subject love.
When you agree he is neither good nor beautiful, you need not think he is ugly and bad; he could be
something in between. (Plato, P. 23) Socrates is a character whom is famous in his own right. Though
it is often believed Plato is using him as a device to speak his own thoughts. Through the rest of the

The thought of paying for condoms filled me with dread, especially because I wasn t sure on their
policies of selling condoms to minors. It sounds ignorant to me now, but the teenage me was not sure
about the legality of buying condoms at age sixteen and the thought of being the center of attention at
the cash register was just dreadful. I knew I definitely needed protection but I was too scared to buy it,
so I took three condoms out of a pack and walked out of the store with the condoms in my pocket. Just
like with the earphones, I went back to Walmart years later, bought a pack of condoms, and then left
them behind. I know it doesn t make up for what I did, but it felt good to do

A Brief Review Of The Star Spangled Banner
The nationa anthem of the U.S. is The Star Spangled Banner. The song was originally a poem, written
by lawyer and amateur poet Francis Scott Key during the War of 1812. On September 3, 1814, while
the war still raged, Francis Scott Key boarded a British ship near Baltimore, Maryland. President
James Madison had given the lawyer permission to try to persuade two British officers to release an
American prisoner.Key might have overheard plans for an overnight attack on Fort McHenry in
Baltimore. They decided to keep Key until after the battle was over. Key waited on board the British
ship, anxious about how the battle would turn out. In the morning, he saw that the American flag
continued to fly above the fort. The U.S. had won the battle. At

Child Observation Essay examples
For this assignment, I observed my six year old niece, Faustine Bui who was born on August 16, 2007,
at the park where I was babysitting her with her mom for approximately thirty minutes. The park I
observed her at is packed with children and dogs are allowed. There is a large play area with jungle
jims and slide and it includes a sandy area which has a variety of playing equipment as well.
I first observed Faustine s biosocial development such as physical growth, gross motor and fine motor
skills. Faustine is 3 feet tall and she weighs 41 pounds according to my Aunt. She is a little shorter
than a lot of the six year old that she hangs out with and the ones in the park but I think that her height
is in the normal range for kids her age ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
She had a hard time conquering the jugle jim though. She kept waddling back and forth every time she
tried to get her feet up on the next bar and she eventually gave up and refused to return to the jungle
jim again. She threw a few balls here and there but she was unable to throw it very far or accurate. By
the age of three, children can already kick, throw, jump and climb things such as ladder. By the age of
six, children can skip, climb trees and over things, and catch a ball (uofmchildrenshospital.org). I was
unable to observe a lot of fine motor skills from Faustine but she did pick up a stick from the ground,
hold it like a normal adult would hold a pencil, and started drawing in the sand. By the age of 2,
children can scribble, fold paper, draw vertical lines and manage semi large object with their hands.
By the age of six, children can copy letters, grasp pencils like a grown adult, and copy complex shapes
(kamloopschildrenstherapy.org).
I then observed her cognitive skills which included her language, memory, and perception. When
observing Faustine, I realized that she is one extremely talkative child. She would talk about
everything and anything sometimes she d just sit in front of us and talk to us and to herself while
playing in the sand. According to Lev Vygotsky and his social learning theory, children use private
speech ( The internal dialogue that occurs when people talk to themselves, either silently or out

The Cholera Epidemic Outbreak Epidemic
The Cholera Epidemic In this paper, I am going to discuss the epidemic that was going on during the
time in which my story was written. The Cholera epidemic was a very serious illness and was
spreading very rampantly. I will discuss the signs and symptoms that are associated with the illness
and what was the probable cause. I will also discuss a few changes that were made with public
sanitation do to the outbreak of Cholera. During the dread reign of the Cholera in New York, I had
accepted the invitation of a relative to spend a fortnight with him in the retirement of his cottage ornee
on the banks of the Hudson. We had here around us all the ordinary means of summer amusement; and
what with rambling in the woods, sketching, boating, fishing, bathing, music, and books, we should
have passed the time pleasantly enough, but for the fearful intelligence which reached us every
morning from the populous city. Not a day elapsed which did not bring us news of the decease of
some acquaintance. Then as the fatality increased, we learned to expect daily the loss of some friend.
At length we trembled at the approach of every messenger. The very air from the South seemed to us
redolent with death. (Poe 1) Cholera is an intestinal infection that can claim its victim s life within
hours if not treated promptly. It is caused by eating or drinking something that is contaminated with

Stonewall Industries
Define and explain the significance of the term derived demand as it applies to Strategic Human
Resources Planning. (5 marks)
Derived demand is described as a requirement for one product that is produced due to the purchase of
another product. This happens when consumers purchase goods to further their production and their
purchases are due to the demand of a final product. An example of this is when the demand for
housing is high; therefor the demand for lumber and other materials would be high to finish the final
product. If the demand of housing would drop, so would the sales and demand of the needed
materials.
Derived Demand applies to Strategic Human Resource Planning for organizations to forecast the
demand of what s needed. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Globalization

prosperity, jobs, wages and social legislation.
Political and Legislative Factors
Both Governments, provincial and federal influence the business environment through political
programs that changed the laws and regulations. HR professionals at Stonewall Industries would need
to continuously monitor legislative changes and ensure compliance with legal requirements.
Technological Factors
This includes tools, machinery, equipment and software. Technology also has the ability to transform
the organizational culture of how work is done.
Labor Market
The Labor Market influences an organization s ability to implement strategy. This is where Stonewall
Industries would recruit its employees. The number of people available for work depends on factors
such as unemployment rate, geographic migration and graduation rates from educational institutions.
Generational Differences

working there for over 20 years. They would have to be aware of how many employees will be
leaving, and watch the environmental factors for availability in new employees. Etc.

Effective Communication As An Effective Negotiator Essay
Delivering a difficult message is like throwing a hand grenade. Coated with sugar, thrown hard or soft,
a hand grenade is still going to do damage (Stone, Patton, Heen, 2000, p. 17). If the underlying
context of our message is not desirable, no matter how hard we try to throw the grenade softly, once it
lands, it shows its consequences. Difficult conversations are not about who s right, rather they are
about dissimilar insights, perceptions, interpretations, and beliefs.
Effective communication is not only important to be an effective negotiator, but it s very essential in
all aspects of life. Regardless of our level of proficiency, some conversations are always cause of
anxiety and frustrations.
As argued by Douglas Stone, Bruce Patton, and Sheila Heen, conversations take place on multiple
levels: the rational, the emotional, and the identity level . Essentially, by considering these parts of
conversation, we can learn each party s version of what was articulated; what feelings take place
throughout the conversation; and to what extent one s identity may have been exposed, sapped, or
fortified by the dialogue.
The rational conversations are essentially the what happened conversations, which are usually made
much more complicated than what parties initial expectations are and commonly involve tension over
what happened and who is to blame for. In such conversations, each side of the conversation should
look for their contribution to the dilemma, rather than

  • 2. The Third Movement Of Johann Sebastian Bach Johann Sebastian Bach lived in Leipzig from 1723 until his death in 1750. In Leipzig, he was the music director of the Collegium Musicum, which presented a series of evening concerts that brought visitors and musical talent to the city. An example of the repertoire presented in these concerts would be Bach s harpsichord concertos, which were arrangements of other concertos for different instruments. According to Pankratz, these concertos (both for the original instrument and harpsichord) were written with didactic purposes, meaning that they were supposed to help the students improve their musical skills. Following Pankratz s idea of Bach being a music director with instructive goals, this paper suggests that the third movement of the Harpsichord Concerto No.5 in F minor, BWV 1056 by Johann Sebastian Bach is a prime example of his pedagogic influence in Leipzig, represented by the constant interaction between the soloist and the ripieno. This is symbolic of the teacher student relation Bach had with the students, as he would often be the solo performer in the evening concerts and the students would play the ripieno parts. The interaction between the soloist and the ripieno comes in various forms: advanced counterpoint, dynamics, dialogue, and/or harmonic changes. The work features three ritornello themes in which we find all these interactions. The first theme (R1) is the main theme and it is four measures long. The interaction is presented with the soloist simply playing ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

We will define their mission and visions goals and their core principles as it applies to their company. This paper will also discuss their basic approaches and general practices. It is also important to understand what the Toyota Production System entails and how Lean operations began. For instance, according to Stevenson, lean operation is a flexible system of operations that uses considerably fewer resources than a traditional system. For example, Lee s Transportation owned by Tony and Lisa Jones, can no longer operate due to several vehicle accidents caused by their drivers. This has resulted in an increase in their insurance premiums with All State and the premiums are too expensive for them to maintain their business. This unfortunate situation has caused a great hardship and Tony and Lisa have no other option than to discharge their employees. Eventually, they coordinate with a business partner and financial advisor and are able to start their company again under a changed name, Loving Hands. They are now able to obtain insurance coverage through State Farm. The Jones re hire their previous employees but with new policies and procedures implemented. They have incorporated monthly staff meetings on safety while driving, online training courses quarterly, in addition to driving classes being mandatory and held annually. It is a fun filled, family friendly vacation place that everyone will enjoy and it is worth the drive. Ocean city has a lot of history to go with it. The first hotel was built by Isaac Coffin in 1869, it was the first beachfront cottage to receive paying guests. People came to fish, relax, enjoy the beauty of the ocean, and enjoy the sand. Then later there were houses being built on the strip of sand. Ocean City extends nearly 10 miles from the southern inlet to the Delaware line. Now there are hotels, motels, apartment houses and condos. Ocean city expanded when the Chesapeake Bay bridge was finished.By the 1970 s there were big businesses and more apartments being built. Now there are hotels, condos, apartments, and stores everywhere you look. Ocean City is located near Fenwick Island, near the Delaware line. On the drive there you go on the Chesapeake Bay bridge. On the bridge you get a beautiful view of the bay and you see boats going all around you and under you. It is a three to four hour drive depending on traffic. Once you get to Ocean City, depending on where you are, there is a view of the bay on one side and on the other side you have a beautiful view of the waves and the sand. • 5. Toubou People The Toubou people first appeared in the 5th century BC, which is when they took over the range and turned it into their home. They raised their families, traded their livestock, and harvested their crops here. The ancient Toubou also painted and engraved beautiful rock art that archeologists later discovered. Lastly, there are still Toubou people living in the Tibesti Mountains to this day. The Tibesti Mountains, also known as the Tibesti Massif, are extremely dangerous and volcanic mountains. They extend into northeastern Niger and southern Libya, but they are mostly located in northwestern Chad. They are about 300 miles long and up to 175 miles wide. Archaeologists believe that some of the missing rock art could have been up to 33,000 years old. The animals that were carved or painted were the animals that were hunted or lived in their nearby are, some of which are now extinct. Some of these animals that are still around today include hippos, rhinos, elephants, giraffes, and even fish. Some of the new paintings include ostriches and antelope. Another type of engraving they would see often would be owoza, which were portray warriors, wearing feathers and they were armed with shields and knives. Some were dance scenes. Some paintings discovered were over 6 feet in height. The art shows the culture of the ancient people of Chad. During the Pastoral period, the engravings or paintings showed men herding their cattle or hunting, while the women and children were hanging around camp. In addition, there was a lot of horse art found, which is some of the most interesting art. The paintings of the scenes that are more pastoral are painted with a red base because the red base signifies towards domestication in the Tibesti Mountains. There is so much rock art in the Tibesti Mountains that archaeologists believe they have only found less than half of the art that is still out there. Jeremy Curl, an explorer, states, There have only been a handful of expeditions to the Tibesti in the last hundred years because it is so remote and inaccessible. It s time for a new one. He took a trip through the Tibesti Mountains to view some of the amazing rock art. There has been around 200 engraving sights and 100 painting sights discovered. Although the paintings and engravings have went through time and weathering, you can still see most of the art clearly. Rock art is still an extremely important part of Toubou people s lives. Mixed Ability Research Paper Ability setting and mixed ability classes In 2006 the Department for Education and Skills (DfES) published a document to serve as guidance for schools across the UK about the benefits of grouping and setting according to age and ability, for teachers and for students (DfES, 2006). The never ending search for strategies to attain better results lead policy makers in the UK to continue the promotion of setting pupils by ability, despite research suggesting no consistent evidence that structured ability grouping will produce positive effects on attainment on any particular group of pupils (Hallam Ireson, 2005). Nonetheless, research suggests that it may have negative effects on particular groups of pupils in terms of personal and social ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Research also suggests that teachers tend to feel the pressure of government guidance s and school s ethos and policies as an important force in determining their beliefs (Hallam Ireson, 2003), but their attitudes towards teaching seem to be mostly influenced by their experience in their subjects with their classes (Hallam Ireson, 2003; Hallam Ireson, 2005; Kutnick, Blatchford, Clark, MacIntyre, Baines, 2005). The government guidance acknowledges that setting doesn t guarantee full homogeneity within the groups and therefore differentiation is still necessary in lessons, as they need to be tailored specifically to their profile and allow the implementation of strategies that able pupils to be stretched in their different capacities (DfES, 2006). Nevertheless, intelligent use of group setting would allow teachers to plan with more confidence, allocate resources like teaching assistants to more demanding groups (DfES, 2006), and differentiate their approach to different groups. The main argument in favor of setting pupils by ability tends to be that more able pupils need some form of separate grouping and an environment where they can freely be stretched to the maximum of their potential without feeling inhibited by their peers (Hallam Ireson, 2003; Hallam Ireson, 2005; Hallam, Rogers, Ireson, 2008). The idea is that by trading exclusive rights to the creators of inventions and creative works in exchange that the creative work or invention to be available to the public is mutually beneficial to both the rights holder and society in general. By granting these rights, the creators and owners are able to benefit both socially and financially from that which they created. At both the district court level and at the 7th Circuit of Appeals, this argument was rejected. The court found that it was implausible that a reasonable person would go to the fictitious website and believe that the product there was created and marketed by Fortres Grand. Conversely, it was equally implausible that anyone going to the Fortres Grand website would believe that the products there were produced by Warner Bros. As a result of this finding, the courts did not need to go any further to address any First Amendment or Fair Use issues. The court further found that the use of the term the clean slate in the movie was not a trademark infringement. They found that the term is too broad in its meaning or application for its use to be restricted in other endeavors such as the movie. It seems that what Fortres Grand was really concerned about was trademark dilution. The claim would be that the use of the clean slate in its movies and on the promotional website would damage the Clean Slate mark and make it less appealing to consumers. This would only be valid if the mark was considered famous which Fortres Grand knew would not be the case with their Clean Slate program. • 11. Sunday Morning By Wallace Stevens Wallace Stevens a well known American poet once said, In poetry, you must love the words, the ideas and the images and rhythms with all your capacity to love anything at all. In these lines, Stevens beautifully reveals that poetry is all about enjoying each line and each and every part of the poem as it would give you satisfaction and love for poetry as never before. Similarly, Stevens wrote a magnificent piece of work Sunday Morning , with various pieces of literary devices to enhance his poetry making it descriptive and enjoyable to read. For example, the use of techniques such as symbolism, theme, imagery, and tone Sunday Morning displays the clash that the speaker endures as she questions the Christian religion and her discovery of love for nature. • 13. Essay Race and Political Power in the Pre-Civil War Period Race and Political Power in the Pre Civil War Period How did race translate itself into political power during this period, and how did Blacks attempt to combat that power. Racism has been the most provocative topic in American history; it has seemed to transcend other struggles, and fester its way into almost every facet of American culture. It has grown like weeds in an unattended garden in to the ideology of America. Politicians use it as a tool for reelection, corporations use it as a way to exploit, and the media uses it as a way to control. But the underlying question is where did it come from, how did it translate itself into political power, and how and what did African Americans do to combat that power. Many of the answers to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Central to these laws was the provision that black slaves, and the children of slave women, would serve for life. This premise, combined with the natural population growth among the slaves, meant that slavery could survive and grow even after slave imports were outlawed in 1808. This was one of the first instances of race translating itself into political power in early colonial America. By the middle of the 18th century slavery was widely accepted in the colonies. There was no way to hide it, between 1680 and 1750 the proportion of slaves in America grew from 4.6 of the population to over 20 percent. In the southern colonies slavery went from about 5 percent to 40 percent of the population. Throughout most of the colonial period, opposition to slavery among white Americans was virtually nonexistent. Settlers in the 17th and early 18th centuries came from sharply stratified societies in which the wealthy savagely exploited members of the lower classes. Lacking a later generation s belief in natural human equality, they saw little reason to question the enslavement of Africans. As they sought to mold a docile labor force, planters resorted to harsh, repressive measures that included liberal use of whipping and branding. That way of thinking would change, as the colonies would move toward war. The coming of the American Revolution would change the way Americans thought about slavery. In response to their ... The Iowa Department of Natural Resources defines impairment as A waterbody is impaired when its water quality does not fully support that waterbody s designated uses for human contact, aquatic life, or drinking water. They note that an impairment on one part of a stream or river does not necessarily mean that at other points of the waterbody it is constituted as impaired. The options we have available to alleviate this situation are few. One option, considered by many is simply to do nothing. This is advanced by many who believe that since we can treat the water we should not be placing any more burden upon our farmers. Most Republicans in the state legislature believe this is the best idea, because it is better to have the Des Moines Water Works to have to pay to fix the water than to place costly measure upon farmers and hurt out economy. However, this option does not fix our increasingly polluted water, and does not help fix the increasing Dead Zone. DMWW already tried suing upstream farmers and counties to have their runoff under the Clean Water Act however, the judge declared that the issue should be left to the state legislature. Those listed in the lawsuit were farmers located in the counties of Buena Vista, Calhoun, and Sac, each in Northern Iowa and feeding waters into the Raccoon River. Because this legal action was thrown out, the judicial approach is an unlikely path for any future policy change in this instance. Because of the judge s ruling that the legislature is the only way to change this, that means a bill is how it will have to be fixed. The best option to alleviate farm runoff would be to impose similar regulations to what the state of Minnesota has done. The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Racquetball proves to be great exercise, but can also be a great learning experience. My time throughout the class has been a wonderful learning experience. After completing the racquetball course I will have learned plenty in which I can apply to my future life. Before my enrollment in racquetball I had little to no knowledge of the sport. If someone had asked me to describe the sport as a whole I would not have been able to adequately do so. Having no knowledge of the rules, terminology, or tactics behind the game, one could conclude that I knew next to nothing about racquetball. During the length of the course I spent much of my time on the court learning, improving, and developing an understanding of the activity. I have developed an appreciation for the game and those who play it. Racquetball itself proves to be much more complex than what I had originally though. Cleary simply hitting the ball does not prove to be an proficient play style as I had once assumed. This will no doubt defer me from making assumptions about other sports in the future. This was a worthwhile learning experience as a whole, and developing an appreciation for the game is not the only thing I will take away from this class. Alongside debunking any misconceptions I once had, racquetball also reinforced the importance of diet in the everyday lifestyle. Aside from the countless things learned on the court, I ... We should reevaluate organ donation due to someone s personal religion, inability to benefit the poor, numerous hospital visits, and potential endangerment to their own well being. Therefore, in 2009, organ transplants became a demand everywhere so abruptly that countless nationalities began selling their organs in return for money (HRSA 1). Krasnolutska also states that the Israeli eastern European organ trafficking rings extended their reach to the United States. In July 2009, the Justice Department charged Levy Rosenbaum, an Israeli in New York, with conspiracy of human organ trafficking. A Federal Bureau of Investigation agent caught Rosenbaum offering a kidney for $160,000 (Budiani Saberi 37). Laws designed to prevent trafficking are currently unsuccessful. While prosecutors in places such as Israel, Brazil, Kosovo and Ukraine have successfully eliminated some of the organ trading gangs, they re still fighting powerful economic forces. As long as there s a worldwide shortage of legal donors for life saving transplants, the exploitation of the poor will only grow. Unless governments around the world enforce existing laws on prohibiting procedures, the traffickers will continue to cultivate a growing legion of impoverished organ sellers who end up with an immense wad of cash, says Glovin (Budiani Saberi 39 40). As a result, suspicions of organ trades between Hong Kong and China in 1989 caused the Tiananmen Square massacre arose. The Amnesty International noted an increase in China s submissions for the death penalty, and reported on the use of executed prisoners organs without their consent. Dr. Ronald D. The obvious is seen within the setting of the painting. The clear illustration of where the event is happening provides the onlooker with a glimpse into a different time and era. Conversely, the artist has taken the liberty to hide deep meaning inside the work of art through less apparent means. • 42. Child Observation Essay examples For this assignment, I observed my six year old niece, Faustine Bui who was born on August 16, 2007, at the park where I was babysitting her with her mom for approximately thirty minutes. The park I observed her at is packed with children and dogs are allowed. There is a large play area with jungle jims and slide and it includes a sandy area which has a variety of playing equipment as well. I first observed Faustine s biosocial development such as physical growth, gross motor and fine motor skills. Faustine is 3 feet tall and she weighs 41 pounds according to my Aunt. She is a little shorter than a lot of the six year old that she hangs out with and the ones in the park but I think that her height is in the normal range for kids her age ... She kept waddling back and forth every time she tried to get her feet up on the next bar and she eventually gave up and refused to return to the jungle jim again. She threw a few balls here and there but she was unable to throw it very far or accurate. By the age of three, children can already kick, throw, jump and climb things such as ladder. By the age of six, children can skip, climb trees and over things, and catch a ball (uofmchildrenshospital.org). I was unable to observe a lot of fine motor skills from Faustine but she did pick up a stick from the ground, hold it like a normal adult would hold a pencil, and started drawing in the sand. By the age of 2, children can scribble, fold paper, draw vertical lines and manage semi large object with their hands. By the age of six, children can copy letters, grasp pencils like a grown adult, and copy complex shapes (kamloopschildrenstherapy.org). I then observed her cognitive skills which included her language, memory, and perception. When observing Faustine, I realized that she is one extremely talkative child. She would talk about everything and anything sometimes she d just sit in front of us and talk to us and to herself while playing in the sand. According to Lev Vygotsky and his social learning theory, children use private speech ( The internal dialogue that occurs when people talk to themselves, either silently or out ... I will also discuss a few changes that were made with public sanitation do to the outbreak of Cholera. During the dread reign of the Cholera in New York, I had accepted the invitation of a relative to spend a fortnight with him in the retirement of his cottage ornee on the banks of the Hudson. We had here around us all the ordinary means of summer amusement; and what with rambling in the woods, sketching, boating, fishing, bathing, music, and books, we should have passed the time pleasantly enough, but for the fearful intelligence which reached us every morning from the populous city. Not a day elapsed which did not bring us news of the decease of some acquaintance. Then as the fatality increased, we learned to expect daily the loss of some friend. At length we trembled at the approach of every messenger. The very air from the South seemed to us redolent with death. (Poe 1) Cholera is an intestinal infection that can claim its victim s life within hours if not treated promptly. It is caused by eating or drinking something that is contaminated with ... • 46. Effective Communication As An Effective Negotiator Essay Delivering a difficult message is like throwing a hand grenade. Coated with sugar, thrown hard or soft, a hand grenade is still going to do damage (Stone, Patton, Heen, 2000, p. 17). If the underlying context of our message is not desirable, no matter how hard we try to throw the grenade softly, once it lands, it shows its consequences. Difficult conversations are not about who s right, rather they are about dissimilar insights, perceptions, interpretations, and beliefs. Effective communication is not only important to be an effective negotiator, but it s very essential in all aspects of life. Regardless of our level of proficiency, some conversations are always cause of anxiety and frustrations. As argued by Douglas Stone, Bruce Patton, and Sheila Heen, conversations take place on multiple levels: the rational, the emotional, and the identity level . Essentially, by considering these parts of conversation, we can learn each party s version of what was articulated; what feelings take place throughout the conversation; and to what extent one s identity may have been exposed, sapped, or fortified by the dialogue. The rational conversations are essentially the what happened conversations, which are usually made much more complicated than what parties initial expectations are and commonly involve tension over what happened and who is to blame for. In such conversations, each side of the conversation should look for their contribution to the dilemma, rather than ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
