Bacteria Transformation in Biotechnology Essay
Abstract Some bacteria are able to go through transformation making new combinations of genes.
Transformation is a way of gene variability in bacteria. This experiment is based on the transformation
mechanism of bacteria and gene regulation. The bacteria used for the experiment was Escherichia coli
and the genes introduces for the transformation were: gfp and bla by a pGLO™ plasmid. After the
insertion of the target genes and growing the bacteria on specialized LB media, it could be seen that
the transformants were positive for the gene expression. The transformed E. coli on the media

plates, one with LB media, two with LB amp(ampicillin), and the last one with LB amp ara(arabinose
sugar). After the 10 minutes each plate was given an aliquot of 100 microliters with one of the E. coli
of the eppie tubes. The LB plate and LB amp had the pGLO and the other two plates, LB amp ara and
LB amp, had the pGLO+. After this step it s done the plates are prepared to be incubated at 37º C for
two days and reveal the results of the induced transformation.
LAB 9: TRANSFORMATION PROCEDURE
Results The results for this experiment were a bit ambiguous but still recognizable and pretty clear. All
of these plates were seen under UV light. In the LB plate pGLO , after the incubation, there was found
a lawn of Escherichia coli colonies that looked green because of the light. The LB amp plate with the
pGLO bacteria, the E. coli did not seem like it grow on it, the media just looked green. A count of 172
colonies that looked green, was found in the LB amp pGLO+ plate, this plate had ampicillin. In the
LB ara amp media plate there were found 251 colonies of E. coli. In this plate the colonies looked
fluorescent green under the UV light, the only plate. In a scale of growth from larger to smaller, the

Fast Food can be defined as quickly made food that is sold in restaurants as a quick meal or to be
taken out. The first fast food restaurants came around the 1920 s and have since then, blown up to be
its own part of American Culture. Chances are, if you live in the United States there is a fast food
restaurant within a mile of your house. As the century progressed these fast food restaurants expanded
to countless countries across the world becoming a big part of peoples everyday lives. Since there are
countless fast food franchises selling generally the same products, the market is extremely
competitive. Fast Food franchises participate in aggressive marketing and are always trying to stay in
the good graces of the public eye. One slip up and chances are they are going to lose a vast amount of
business. As much as they try though there is no possible way they would be able to anticipate some
of the public relations blunders that occur especially in an age where there are eyes everywhere in the
form of cameras and social media. One of the biggest public relations disasters in recent memory

Television Coverage And Alternative Media Coverage
The difference in mass media coverage and alternative media coverage is that mass media focuses
more on a broader relationship between the Call of Duty franchise and the USDoD; however,
alternative media goes more in depth to the subject. When accessing mass media sources, their content
often filled with positive takes of the subject because they are usually funded by the company. For
instance, game developers would not want bad reviews of their content out on mass media sources like
CNN because it reduces the profit. Also it appeals to most retailers, such as Gamestop, Wal Mart, or
Target. On the other hand, alternative media gives a more closely look of the contents of the game.
The Call of Duty franchise in this case, Advanced Warfare and the USDoD have been working with

Raising Hope aired in 2010 receiving 3.1 million views, opening with a chance encounter with a
wanted felon that leads to the conception of a child later named Hope. As it turns out Hope was a very
fitting name as that is it exactly what it seems to give the quirky family. It developed a loyal fan base
as people fell in love with the Chances and people of Natesville. Raising Hope made a good TV

Lately my mornings are spent getting up between 5:30am and 6am. I get myself ready, I never look
