Opponent Of The Death Penalty
Opponent of the Death Penalty
Gradually, states are abolishing the death penalty, as it has little to no effect on people involved in
dangerous crimes. Thirty nine states enforce the death penalty and nineteen states have abolished;
Personal involvement with the horrible crime of murder renders the academic arguments for or against
capital punishment (Polites). As many studies have shown, the death penalty also has little to no effect
on the crime rate in the country. Many questions people answer address whether they are supporters or
opponents of the death penalty and whether they believe it is effective to the US. Both these issues
have been ongoing debates for many years. Contrary to some thoughts, life imprisonment without
parole has had a bigger effect on inmates simply because they suffer from the feeling of guilt. The US
benefits because the cost of the death penalty cost three times more than the cost expense of prison.
One central thing about life imprisonment without parole is that they are in prison for the rest of their
lives. According to Citizens United for Alternatives to the Death Penalty, it said, In certain cases,
imprisonment should be for life, with no possibility of parole ever. For the rest of their lives, they have
to live within the strict and unsatisfactory boundaries of prison without the possibility of freedom in
the outside/ real world. This will forcibly remind the inmates of the crime they have committed and
inherently reinforce a sense of

Federal Bureau Of Investigation And Its Legal Implications
Federal Bureau of Investigation takes all cases of alleged terrorist activity seriously, and they
thoroughly investigate each case. According to Roth (2014), instead of seeking solely to identify
individuals who are actively engaged in criminal conduct, now agents also have deliberately sought to
identify individuals who might be willing to aid acts of terrorism, even if they are not currently
involved in such activities (p. 981). The vagueness of the term willing and its legal implications can
hardly be exaggerated. Law enforcement professionals from the Federal Bureau of Investigation have
developed sophisticated mechanisms to obtain valid evidence that a person or a group of people has
the intention to act as terrorists. The use of confidential informants has become a gold standard in
investigating these cases, but not all law enforcement professionals can meet the legal requirements
and avoid the risks of entrapment. It is important, however, to ensure that your confidential informant
has been thoroughly vetted so that their actions and integrity regarding the case cannot be called into
questions and allegations validated regarding the evidence obtained as a result of their involvement.
Recently, the case of the Inland Empire men accused of organizing a terrorist plot has become
highlighted news in the United States (Hansen, 2014). For months, the Federal Bureau of Investigation
was monitoring their activities with the active participation of a confidential

Gaunilo s Ontological Argument
One of the criticisms of the ontological argument is by the monk Gaunilo. Gaunilo tries to use the
same concept of Anselm s argument to refute the claims he made. He tries to use the analogy of The
Perfect Island . (1) A perfect island is an island after which nothing greater exist. (2)The perfect island
exists in the mind. (3)The perfect islands exist in the mind and not in reality and can be conceived to
exist. (4)To exist is better than not exist. Therefore, the perfect islands exist. Gaunilo s perfect island is
similar to the logical reasoning behind Anslem s argument. He reasons that the thought of a perfect
island can exist in the mind. The perfect island is one that which there is nothing greater. If the perfect

Pottery
Thesis: The Japanese aesthetics of irregularity and simplicity manifest in the artistic creations in
calligraphy, make up brushes and pottery. Through an examination of the both the process by which
these items are created as well as the final object made, the soul and personality of the creator
emerges.
Paragraph 1:Caligraphy Irregularity
Each Japanese Calligrapher reveals a part of their soul through each unique stroke. A message bigger
than the words written is told through the width, length and curvature of a calligrapher s stoke. Every
calligrapher s style can be seen through the irregularities in their work. In Hannah Peck s Pecha ...

The Japanese atheistic of simplicity is present within the tools. Each tool has one simple job, however,
no brush or paper is made the same as well as the artists who use them. In Hannah s pecha kucha, she
explains the beginning of the process of calligraphy. Hannah mentions the importance of the brushes
in calligraphy and their connection to simplicity. She analyzes,
Furthermore, no two artists are the same. Each one possesses his or hers own preference and style;
some brushes are incredibly elegant with family names inscribed on the handles. Well others appear as
if they were made from a stick of bamboo. Ultimately it does not matter how expensive a tool may be
but rather what can be accomplished with that tool.
The calligrapher s brush manifests the artist him or herself. Whether the artist wishes to have elegant
brushes or simple bamboo brushes, they all have one simple job, to write. The beauty of the brush
does not matter, but rather the work done with the brush. The work created with the tool rather than
their supplies reveal how the Japanese value humility as well as the simplicity of the work. A simple
movement of the brush on the paper creates a peaceful state of mind for the artists. It is a feeling of
simple joy when the brush moves along the hand made paper. The treasured Japanese paper is
different from American paper. Machines create smooth,

Essay On Annexation Of Hawaii
Occupation or Annexation?
A dispute has come up between the United States and the tropical islands of Hawaii. Is
Hawaii legally a state of the United States of America? In this paper I will show that Hawaii is
not a legal state of the United States of America.
This argument or dispute dates back to the last Monarch of the Hawaiian Kingdom. That
was Queen Lydia Liliuokalani who would not take the throne unless the Bayonet Constitution
who her brother, David Kalakaua, was forced to sign was changed. She then took the throne in
1891 and was later put under house arrest for several months. On January 17, 1893 Queen Lydia
Liliuokalani was overthrown and the Hawaiian Kingdom was no more. A representative from
Hawaii was sent to Washington ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Making Hawaii s overthrow legal for the United States to secure annexation of
Hawaii. But is this really legal? Well when Benjamin Harrison left office in March of 1893,
Grover Cleveland took office. President Cleveland withdrew or took out the Annexation Treaty
that former President Benjamin Harrison signed from the Senate. President Cleveland appoints
James H. Blount to investigate the overthrow of the Hawaiian Kingdom. James H. Blount
initiates the President s request and starts the investigation on April 1, 1893. On October 18,
1893 James H. Blount completed his investigation of the Hawaiian Kingdom and the Secretary
of State apprised President Grover Cleveland. What the Secretary of State told President
Cleveland is that members of the Provisional Government committed high treason. In 1933 the
United Church of Christ apologized to Hawaii and redressed the wrongs done to the Native
Hawaiian people. In 1993 the United States Congress passed a joint resolution for their
participation in the overthrow of the Hawaiian Kingdom. The U.S Congress apologized to
Hawaii for the overthrow on January 17, 1893 and deprivation the Native Hawaiian rights

Comparing Doerr s Obsession With Birds
Both Anthony Doerr s All the Light We Cannot See and Emily Dickinson s Hope is the the thing with
feathers make use of bird imagery. Doerr s novel follows the parallel lives of a blind French girl and a
young German boy, as their lives intertwine as World War Two unfolds around them. Frederick, a
character in All the Light We Cannot See, exhibits an obsession with birds, which reflects his desire
for freedom. His desire is never satisfied, as his character meets a restricting, dismal future. The
speaker in Hope is the the thing with feathers describes the bird s attributes, which are parallel to that
of hope. Doerr and Dickinson both utilize birds as symbols, but each for dissimilar concepts. Doerr

Our sites (Figure 1.) were spread along the lowest reach of Merri Creek before it runs into the Yarra

Jackson Pollock Research Paper
The abstract expressionist whose work I admire the most is the work of Jackson Pollock. He was born
on January 28, 1912 in Cody, Wyoming. He was an influential American Painter, and the leading force
behind the abstract expressionist movement in the art world (Barbara Moore). When Pollock was 8,
his father, who was an abusive alcoholic, left the family, and Pollock s older brother, Charles, became
like a father to him. While the family was living in Los Angeles, Pollock discovered his passion for
art. After some time Pollock became addicted to drinking. He tried to resolve his problems by working
to keep him busy. But despite being busy with work, Pollock could not stop drinking. In 1942, Pollock
met Lee Krasner, a Jewish contemporary artist and an established painter, at a party. She later visited
Pollock at his studio and was impressed with his art. They soon became ... Show more content on

back to drinking heavily. Concerned for Pollock s well being, Krasner called on Pollock s mother to
help. Her presence helped to stabilize Pollock, and he began to paint again (Biography.com). He
completed his masterpiece, The Deep, during this period. But as the demand from collectors for
Pollock s art grew, so too did the pressure he felt, and with it his alcoholism. Overwhelmed with
Pollock s needs, Krasner was also unable to work. Their marriage became troubled, and Pollock s
health was failing (John Seed). By 1956, he had quit painting, and his marriage was basically ruined.
Krasner left for Paris to give Pollock space. Just after 10 p.m. on August 11, 1956, Pollock, who had
been drinking, crashed his car into a tree less than a mile from his home. Pollock was thrown 50 feet
into the air and into a birch tree. He died immediately

Whole Foods Corporate Social Responsibility Essay
Going above and beyond may be defined by making a profit and still following the laws expected in
management, which is exactly how Whole Foods involves itself in the corporate social responsibility
concept (Kreitner Kinicki, 2013). Consequently, Whole Foods has made it to the top due to great
leadership, and valuable knowledge of ethical responsibility to stakeholders. As the leadership of this
great company engages daily in business meetings, just as all upper management does, it is evident
that leading with excellence is first on the management list. The evidence of such strong leadership
shows how Whole Foods has a main goal and that is to do good for all and to seek to improve the
world (Mackey, 2011). However, this cannot be accomplished without this great knowledge which is
valuable for the overall operations of the company as we all know revolves around management.

The Reaction Of Zinc And Iron
Discussion:
As only 2 balloons expanded in size, the results did not provide solid evidence to completely support
the hypothesis of the practical. Having said that, the magnesium reaction time clarified its high metal
reactivity as it expanded to its optimal circumference in the 30 seconds provided. Similarly, copper did
not react at all as expected due to its low metal reactivity. However, between the maximum and
minimum metals, in terms of reactivity, aluminium, zinc and iron showed no sign of expansion in the
30 second observational time limits. Nevertheless, the aluminium balloon expanded after
approximately 40 minutes. As neither zinc nor iron reacted in this time span, it was confirmed that
aluminium had the second highest metal reactivity, as anticipated from the hypothesis. After the first,
second and last metals in the metal reactivity series were established, the remainder had to be
observed for their chemical reactions to make a valid conclusion under the time constraint provided.
From the observations between zinc and iron, it was perceived that zinc was more reactive due to
which more bubbles and gas had formed in the test tube containing acid as opposed to iron where only
occasional bubbles had developed. The metal reactivity series was confirmed from the balloon
expansions and the chemical changes that occurred.
This experiment was designed on the basis of previously obtained knowledge of metals and their
reactivity with acids. It is known that when metals

V2 Rocket Persuasive Essay
On September 6th of 1944, mankind s aspiration to reach the stars slammed into the Earth in the form
of the V2 rocket striking Paris (Britannica; Hollingham). The V2 rocket was a new sort of weapon: it
combined the elegance of rocket science into the brutality of war, with it enabling Nazi Germany to
claim thousands of lives. The man responsible for designing such a perversion of human ambition,
Werner Von Braun, would later become indispensable to the United States mission to put a man on the
moon. The moon project not only showed the vast capability of the US science program, but also
revolutionized many fields of technology and thus bringing a new sense of pride to all mankind in
human achievement. From Von Braun s actions, a paradox arises: ... Show more content on

This anomaly not only applies to Von Braun, but to thousands of acts across time that have been
repurposed to bring about good and the betterment of all mankind. atrocities should never be
celebrated, and humans at large must stop them wherever they occur. Since their presence is
inevitable, however, society must change malevolent actions into good results so that humanity can
progress both in moral understanding and advance. As John Steinbeck wrote in The Grapes of Wrath,
when mankind takes a step forward, he may slip back, but only half a step, never the full step back,
and likewise society must ensure that when an atrocity comes, it does not embrace the atrocity but
uses it to improve the world and learn from it (Steinbeck 150). To ensure that society begins to learn
from its misdeeds, it must first understand that it has benefitted from atrocious acts. It is essential to
understand that atrocities must be prevented whenever possible and acknowledged as wrong before
improvements can be made. Then society must recognize the atrocity when it occurs and bring good

The Moral Argument for the Existence of God Essay example
The Moral Argument for the Existence of God Kant did NOT put forward a moral argument and
anyone who said he does is wrong!!!! Kant rejected all attempts to argue from the world to God, he
regarded such an exercise as impossible. However he thought that God was a POSTULATE of

Of course, it may well be that the Universe is not fair Kant had a deep sense of trust in the fairness of
the Universe and if this is rejected then the postulates are not needed. Argument from absolute moral
values =================================== A different approach to that of Kant comes
from those who argue from the existence of some absolute moral values. Rashdall put forward this
argument but it was developed by Sorley. Sorley claims: 1. There is an absolute moral law. Sorley
supports this claim with the following reasons: 2. People are conscious of an absolute moral law 3.
People acknowledge the demands that this law makes on them even if they break it 4. No finite mind
grasps the whole of what this represents 5. Ideas exist only in minds 6. Therefore there must be a
supreme mind, beyond all finite minds, in which this absolute moral law exists. Sorley claims that
unlike Natural Law which is descriptive of human nature, the Moral Law is prescriptive. It describes
not what IS but what SHOULD BE. The Natural Law approach to Ethics stems

The World s Most Influential Women Leaders
Curtis Carlson, founder of the Carlson Company, was the son of Swedish immigrants and widely
known in Sweden for his business success and philanthropy. The company established the Curtis L.
Carlson Family Foundation in 1959 and became involved in various charitable causes. Because of
Curtis reputation as a successful businessman and philanthropist, he became acquainted with the royal
family of Sweden. The two families developed a longstanding friendship that later influenced Marilyn
Carlson Nelson s decision to sign the Code of Conduct for the Protection of Children from Sexual
Exploitation in Travel and Tourism. Marilyn was recognized as one of the world s most influential
women leaders; under her leadership, Carlson Company employed over 150,000 people worldwide
and achieved over $37 billion in annual sales in 2006 (Lawrence Weber, 2014). She had a visionary
outlook and was always looking for potential issues that could impact relationships with stakeholders.
In some parts of the world, the tourism industry was exploiting children and teen girls for sex
trafficking. It had become a very profitable multi billion dollar industry with an estimated two million
children being exploited each year (Lawrence Weber, 2014). Because the Carlson Company owned
and operated hotels, cruise ships, restaurants, tour operators and travel agencies all over the world,
their brand reputation could be negatively impacted by the sexual exploitation of children. In 1998,

In A Day Imagery
An Image Is Worth A Thousand Meanings Sam Shepard once said that, Words are tools of imagery in
motion . In the short story entitled All Summer in a Day which describes the tale of a young girl
missing out on the appearance of the sun (an event occurring every 7 years) due to her classmates
believing that she is different because she is not a native to the planet , Ray Bradbury utilizes imagery
in the story similarly to how it is described by Sam Shepard in the quote. Ray Bradbury s All Summer

This is able to convey meaning by creating a contradiction. While the rain is sweet, beautiful, and
crystal, it is simultaneously repetitive and tiresome. The rain connects to the roses Bradbury used as
well because the beauty of the roses disguises the negative aspects of it, similarly the seemingly
beautiful exterior of the rain does not show how its constant fall can be irritating. Here Bradbury
manages to form a connection between the children and the rain through his imagery. The children
have known rain all of their lives, causing them to become closely associated with one another. The
more they experienced rain, the less they liked it. Contrastingly, they did not know Margot very well
but still did not favor her. It is this contradiction between disliking what is known and what is not
known that connects back to the same major conflict appearing throughout the story as to how one
reacts to something that is foreign to them in contrast to if they recognized it

To agree with the statement, disguise and deception is...
To agree with the statement, disguise and deception is used widely by Shakespeare. Throughout the
play we only see Viola in her disguise as Cesario . From Act 1, Scene 2, we see her planning on using
the disguise of a man to serve Orsino. The interactions between her and the other characters show
dramatic irony as they do not realise who Cesario actually is, however the audience does. Orsino, at
the start of Act 2, scene 4 says Now good morrow, friends; Now, good Cesario. Orsino does not know
the actual person he is talking to when he praises Cesario, just the same when he says Cesario is
semblative a woman s part , saying that Cesario looks like a woman. For Shakespeare s audience there
was a heightened level of irony because at that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is when Portia and Nerissa disguise themselves as men, specifically a lawyer and a clerk, as a
way to save Antonio. This links into the way Viola uses an inner disguise to shield her real personality,
she first goes into her disguise at the docks in Act 1, scene 2 when she says to the Captain Conceal me
what I am, and be my aid. For such disguise as haply shall become the form of my intent. This shows
how she is covering up what I am [she is] a woman, by the personality and physical disguise of a man.
From this point onwards there is comedy due to the fact that she is disguised as a man and is fooling
every other character, with the audience knowing all about this. This also shows that Shakespeare
respects the audience enough to not have them fooled by Viola s disguise ;and he shows more sexual
equality, as Viola plays a major part in the story and without her the play would have a lot less
comedy. The structure of the play relies mostly on her actions, for example there would have been no
love triangle without her and all the other characters would not have been deceived by her. Therefore,
there would be no dramatic irony to create amusement. So, the dramatic irony of Viola s disguise
makes characters seem ignorant and ridiculous creating comedy, but also through the audience s
knowledge of Viola s true identity. Shakespeare resolves this confusion by Viola revealing herself in
the last act, making it a zenith ending, with all the characters present

Research Paper On St. John s Wort
During the last decade, St. John s wort (Hypericum perforatum) has gained popularity as an alternative
treatment for depression and a natural remedy for reducing inflammation due to its especial chemical
composition(1, 2). H. perforatum is a perennial herb of the Hypericaceae family native to parts of
Europe and Asia (middle east and other parts) and also has spread worldwide, including temperate
regions of India, China, Africa, and some parts of the United States and is distinguished by its golden
yellow calycles(1) . In addition, when flower buds are crushed, a reddish liquid would be exposed.
This reddish liquid contains numerous compounds with biological activity such as phloroglucinols
hyperforin, adhyperforin, the naphthodianthrones hypericin and pseudohypericin, the flavonoids
hyperoside, quercetin, rutin, quercitrin and isoquercitrin, and the dimeric flavonoids

Patience In Disney World
It takes great patience and love in order to make the kind of progress that benefits everyone. (Mashos)
Patience is a needed characteristic in today s society. An example of patience would be my trip to
Disney World when I was seven years old. When my parents sprung the surprise that we would be
going to Disney World, the trip itself was still a month and a half out. That month and a half was the
longest of my entire life. I was so excited and it seemed so far away. Finally the day came and I woke
up a ball of sunshine, Everyone wake up! It s Disney day, it s Disney day! We packed our bags
frantically figuring out what was important to bring and what was not, and then we drove to the airport
with the anticipation buzzing in the air. Meanwhile at the airport we proceeded to wait an additional
hour to get through security and wait for the plane to be ready to board. On the plane we flew for 3
hours and landed in Orlando, Florida, which is a relatively short drive from Disney World itself. My

old. After that fiasco, we were on our way to Animal Kingdom. Animal Kingdom was a fascinating
park, since all three of us children were entirely absorbed by the animals and the sights and the
hundreds if not thousands of people we saw. We had no idea what patience was until we actually
attempted to ride some of those rides. There was a jungle safari ride in which we could go on a boat on
a man made river and hear a story and see some wildlife. We were weaving back and forth through
rope barriers listening to the conversations of people around us as we dutifully awaited our turn, like
soldiers preparing for battle. Meanwhile the actual ride was maybe ten to fifteen minutes long. The
wait was excruciating, but after we got on the ride, we saw why it was such a tedious wait, the

Similarities Between Clowning Around And All The Different...
We have our own problems today, but nothing compared to the alternate realities that the authors here
have created. Although these are great stories, only one of the finalists can be better. The stories
Clowning Around and All the Different Kinds of Rats are the same in the sense that they have similar
messages. These two pieces of literature have their respective similarities and differences, but the big
topic here is a problem. Firstly, the similarities between the two pieces. The message of unity or lack
thereof is portrayed in both pieces. Passages like The people then started to divide themselves or What
set them apart was mostly age, which they were able to overcome show how important unity can be,
or how weak a lack of cooperation is. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The story Clowning Around is told in a broad, third person viewpoint. The story takes place in a
prolonged amount of time in 745 words, but there are quick transitions and quick elevation of tension,
but there is a sense of graduality that works out in the authors favor. The story jumps from the sun
rising to the as the people wake up multiple times. All the Different Kinds of Rats, however, has a
specific third person perspective and a small time frame. Only one day in 737 words, but the detail
from the newspapers and gum to a diminutive mattress this story isn t entirely pure story or action, but
provides more background and context. Lastly, the actual situations of the two stories are completely
different, but I think that the way that Clowning Around represents reality is quite brilliant, and the
social commentary of what can happen is so genius that you need to read between the lines to notice
it. All the Different Kinds of Rats, on the other hand, is a story about two poor brothers struggling
through everyday life, and while this does convey a deeper message, it doesn t feel like the author

Types Of Portfolio Management
Under certain conditions, however, the possibility of unexpected concentration among some industries
may exist, especially in the period of irrational exuberance and overestimated valuations. In the 1990s,
for example, the upsurge in investing in technology companies resulted in a market bubble. The
technology firms concentrated extremely high on the stock index. Accordingly, investors were putting
at a high risk for the reason that these overvalued companies were given ownership which was out of
proportion by the stocks bought by passive market funds. The aim of passive funds is not to
outperform the market or the index, but to follow the tracks of them. As a result, the performance of

Standard deviations are an indicator of market volatility and represent risk. The lower standard
deviations, the lower risks of portfolios. Even though the expected market return of active portfolio
does not perform well, the risk of active portfolio is minimized. There is no short selling in the active
portfolio and the the active portfolio is diversified through balanced investment of these ten stocks.
Furthermore, the weights of 10 stocks in the active portfolio are more balanced than the passive
portfolio. Therefore, the investors who pursue high expected market return should choose passive
portfolio and risk averse investors should choose active portfolio. The investors should consider
transaction fees and management fees of active portfolio and investors can insist on choosing active
portfolio if they believe they can have higher return that offset these fees. In conclusion, the active
investing is more flexible than passive investing because active investing does not have to follow a
specific index like S P 500. According to Elton and Gruber (1997), the choice of the portfolio manager
to choose for active portfolio is mainly based on his or her perception on the degree of market
efficiency. There is no doubt that active investing is superior to passive portfolio when market mis
priced the asset. But active

Bedrock River
If a river flows over bedrock, the bedrock restricts widening and lateral mobility which can distort the
shape of the bends in the river (Hooke and Yorke 2011). Substrate influences channel form at the
reach scale, with bedrock channel found to be narrower and deeper than alluvial channels (Whitbread
et al. 2015). This means that the substrate the river is flowing over does have an effect on what the
river is doing. The bedrock restricts widening and lateral mobility, which limits how fast the river can
meander. If the river is flowing over a substrate that is easily erodible, and then if it erodes down to
bedrock the river will become less sinuous.
Meandering rivers are not common in bedrock channels because bedrock channels are narrower and
deeper than alluvial channels (Whitbread et al. 2015). The alluvial channels allow the river channel to
become wide and therefore the river is able to meander because its channel is so wide. Changing the
type of bedrock can influence the width and depth of the river (Whitbread et al. 2015). The maximum
width/depth ratio decreases with increasing fracture spacing (Whitbread et al. 2015). This is because
the fractures create a weak spot in the rock that allows the river to erode into those fractures. Adding

The substrate has a major effect on the river. The substrate can determine what type of river is formed,
how much sediment the river is transporting, how much erosion is occurring in the river etc. The
substrate is a very import factor when anyone is studying a

Americans lost New York City, losing communications between the North and South colonies. When
Washington lost control of New York City, he also lost control of surrounding areas when Washington

Teaching Styles, Learning Styles, and Cultural Location in Relation to Academic Success The

Musical Theatre As A Theatrical Performance
Musical Theatre is a theatrical performance when the story is told through dialogue, song, and dance.
Back then, people didn t Snap Chat, Face Time or watch TV for entertainment; they would go to the
Theatre for a night out, first date, etc. To give a more definitive description of how musicals evolved,
affected, and influenced throughout history, a time line of major musicals that defined certain stages of
Musical Theatre will probably help people understand what makes it so unique.
Now a quick history lesson, Musical Theatre technically was created in 5th Century BCE Ancient
Greece, when staged comedies and tragedies would be told with a bit music and dance...but Musicals
didn t fully emerge into the world until the early 20th Century when the art form went to London,
England, and then to America, which formed the famous theatre district, Broadway. Now that the
basics are covered of where Musical Theatre came from, this paper is more about how Broadway
Musicals evolved into what they are in present day, how people have reacted to such performances,
and how musical theatre has impacted not only America, but also the world.
The first era of Musical Theatre actually started in the 1920 s 1930 s during the Great Depression.
This was a the first time there were musicals other than the fun, young, and enjoyable shows, the first
example of this would be the musical Show Boat, which premiered in December 1927, the music was

The Moral Responsibility of Leaders
Reflection
1. This chapter suggests that leadership has a moral dimension and that leaders have a responsibility to
use their authority for the common good. Do you agree? Discuss I agree with what the chapter
suggests. In my opinion, leadership does have a moral dimension and as a leader, comes a
responsibility that he or she uses their authority to advance the common good. I believe, that as a
leader, there is an obligation to uphold our moral values and not use their authority for aggression,
power, or getting ahead. Leaders should always use their resources to advance and promote those that
need assistance or a greater cause. For example, a leader promoting needs to reduce poverty. In
addition, leaders not only need to be effective but also must accept the moral dimension of leadership
and as a leader; he or she becomes a role model for the community, employees, and all of the
stakeholders. Consequently, leader s actions influence those around them and therefore as a leader, we
should use our available resources to help improve the lives of others.
2. When you consider the character of a leader and what a leader does (the leader s actions), which of
these two factors is more important with regard to ethical leadership? Can a person with bad character
be an ethical leader? Discuss your answers. Although it is often quoted that actions speak louder than
words, I believe that the character of a leader may be slightly more important than the actions of a
leader.

The screenplay Metacarpi is the story of an institutionalized pianist and a lion aspiring friend whose
pursuit of freedom explores ideas of whether we might be happier in an institution if it allows us to

When coming up with the story for the script, I first created the character of Dmitriy and the story
grew out of his character. A simple characterization of Dmitriy is a man struggling to free himself,
whose aura of grandeur and potential for greatness is lost on his environment. Out of this came the
idea of an institutionalized pianist who wants to perform the perfect performance. As the story grew I

It is through their actions and visual appearance that I chose to show their characteristics. An example
of this would be that at no point in the script does George verbally express that he wants to dress up as
or be a lion, he just does it without talking about it. Instead of explaining it or mentioning it in
dialogue, we have the visual images of George with the lion s mane, George with the painted on
whiskers, and George with the permanently attached stuffed lion tail. The visual suffices to suggest to
the audience that George enjoys dressing up as a lion. The visual was crucial for the portrayal of
Dmitriy s character. I found visual detail allowed me to reveal more about Dmitriy than the dialogue
could. It was also served to represent his journey. The fragile gaunt Dmitriy in the brocade dressing
gown with the bloodied knuckles, barefoot, who becomes the beaming, tailcoat clad, barefoot Dmitriy.
The self isolating Dmitriy who observes his sister through a window rather than meeting with her,
who becomes the embracing brother. These images allow for a visual representation of Dmitriy s

the answer to your problem, but it isn t that easy. There are many adverse effects from steroids, such
as the destruction of your organs or your physical appearance. There are many more adverse effects to
using steroids than positive ones. This is why it is very risky to use them. Before using them you need
to know what steroids are and what happens to your body when you take them. Anabolic androgenic
steroids, also known as anabolic steroids, are a man made version of the male sex hormone
testosterone. According to Dr. Nora Volkow, the director of the National Institute of Drug Abuse,
anabolic steroids were originally created in the 1930 s to treat a disease in which testicles did not fully

testosterone, young boys who are late with hitting puberty, and people who are losing muscle mass
due to breast cancer, AIDs, or HIV. After a while, bodybuilders discovered that steroids could increase
muscle mass, so they started taking steroids to get bigger. This discovery spread to other sports as well

Flintco Pacific, Inc., 1 14 CV 268121 . Flintco Pacific, Inc., a former general contractor of the
Mitchell Park library project in Palo Alto, California, sued the City of Palo Alto because the City did
not give back the LEED documents used to certify the LEED Platinum certification for this project. In
this case, we can realize the importance of LEED documents in the projects; thus, the green
construction contracts should clarify the role of holding the LEED documents. Lawsuit 9:
Pennsylvania Department of General Services vs. Hampton Technologies, Inc. . In 2011, Hampton
Technologies, Inc. filed a protest alleging that the Department of General Services (DGS) did not state
the important of experiences with green building in their bid for Family Court Project, and this led to
the failure in awarding the bid of Hampton. Nonetheless, the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania affirmed
that the bid did contain the LEED related provisions, so that the Court denied Hampton s protest. This
case demonstrates the necessity of LEED experience in bidding

A Reflection Of Human Setting In Into The Wild And The...
Novels and storybooks comprise a reflection of human character and individuals in the society. They
are a mirror through which the audience is able to infer lessons which promote their sustainability in
life. Similarly, films are a reflection of a particular viewpoint in the society. Conversely, the film Into
the Wild and the novel Tracks offer insight on an element of human life. They explore the human
setting and collectively conclude that we should all try to escape society. Principally, based on the
premises set forth by the film and the novel, it is our inherent responsibility to isolate ourselves from
those who are around us.
To begin, the theme of isolation comprises a pervasive element in both the novel and the film.
Isolation refers to the distancing of oneself from their communities or peers. In In to the Wild the main
character, Christopher, commits himself to a journey through the isolated wild (Penn 2007). He
renounces his previous affiliations and sets out into the wild with nothing but a journal on existence in
the wild. In the journal, he views himself as a heroic loner and thus contends: You can do anything.
You can go anywhere. Money, power is an illusion. It s up here. You can be here. Me and You (Penn
2007). His commitment to the wild is predicated on the feelings of freedom that were triggered upon
his access into the wild. Equally, the novel Tracks captures the story of Robyn Davidson who leaves
the comfort of her town in the pursuit of camels in the

Description Of 3-D Finfet Systems
The figure 1 gives a brief description of the 3 D FinFET structures which have been simulated.
According to the International Technology Roadmap for Semiconductors (ITRS), The gate length
(Lgate) is 15 nm, which corresponds to the 7/8 nm technology having 0.64 nm as gate oxide thickness.
The height (HSi) and width of fin (WSi) are 40nm and 8nm respectively whereas the the fin pitch is
30 nm and the fin aspect ratio is 5 which are taken from the characteristics of Intel 22 nm [1] and 14
nm FinFET technology [7]. The gate work function has been assumed to be tunably achieve an OFF
state leakage current (IOFF) of up to 30 pA/μm which has been consistent with TSMC s 16 nm

The fin sidewall surfaces along which the transistor current flows were assumed to be {110}
crystallographic planes, with transistor current flow in a ⟨110⟩ direction. To boost transistor ON state
current, 2 GPa (tensile) uniaxial stress has been introduced in the fin channel region for nFETs,
whereas −2 GPa (compressive) uniaxial stress was introduced in the fin channel region for pFETs.
The effective channel length (Leff) and the peak location of the PTS doping profile (Xdepth) for the
SSR FinFETs have been optimized individually such that to ensure the ON state drive current Id, sat is
maximized, whereas maintaining the OFF state current specification at (IOFF = 30 pA/μm).
The Table II provides an overview of the important performance parameters for the given FinFET
devices which have been optimized. Using the constant current criterion of 100 nA×(Weff/Lgate), the
threshold voltage, Vt, has been used. For operating voltage VDD = 0.80 V (consistent with ITRS 2013
specifications for the 7/8 nm low power technology node [6]), SSR FinFET provides for 3.6% and
3.8% improvement in Id,sat for nFETs and pFETs, respectively. The benefit of higher carrier mobility
is greater for operation in the linear regime (Vgs = 0.8 V and Vds = 50 mV): SSR FinFET provides for
6.7% and 6% improvement

Compare And Contrast A Streetcar Named Desire Movie And Movie
Elia Kazan s film, A Streetcar Named Desire (1951) was adapted from the play originally written by
Tennessee Williams. This film won multiple Oscars and countless other awards that prove it to be an
extremely impressive work for its time. The setting of this film sets the stage, the themes and
symbolism add interest, and the characterization only enhances an already impressive work. These
elements and many more are what make up this incredible film.
This film is set in the 1940 s in the bustling city of New Orleans. A majority of the scenes take place
within the walls of the Kowalski s two room home. The size of the home is something that Blanche
comments on right away and it adds tension to many scenes throughout the film. The constant
quarrelling between the characters often make the house feel even smaller than it is. It offered little
privacy, with only a curtain to divide the rooms, and the characters often went back and forth between
the rooms quickly, sometimes several times in one scene. The setting is much like one that would be
used for a play. It was very two dimensional and only offered a straight on view. The upstairs home
that belonged to Steve and Eunice played an important role at two specific points in the movie.
Though it was directly above the Kowalski s, it often goes without mention. When it was
acknowledged, it was often used as a shelter. Stella and Blanche ran up the stairs after the fight in the
poker game scene, and though Stella returned downstairs

Methods of Trafficking and Counters Essay
METHODS OF TRAFFICKING AND COUNTERS
Many people choose to try and make fortunes through the illegal trade of drugs. This type of business
gives the highest return of dollars spent, but is one of the hardest products to ship. There are many
techniques that have been used throughout the years in order to try and get the illegal substances into
the United States, which leads to the government s response to counter the illegal transshipments.
Although the War on Drugs appears to be a futile effort, there are many ways to tighten down on the
drug traffickers and successfully put them out of business utilizing government tactics and education.
The main ways to ship illegal substances into the United States are ... Show more content on

This will force parents to take a more active interest into their children s activities.
Many other types of methods are utilized on the ground to transport drugs into the United States
through the borders. Although every road that leads into America s soil has a port of entry and
checkpoints, there are still traffickers that attempt to get pass the security and get the product to the
destination. The majority of these traffickers are female and not all of them are caught. The most
common method used to transport on the ground is in an automobile with the hopes that the border
guard will not inspect the vehicle. The Mexican border has become a conduit for illegal transportation
into the United States from South America (Clawson, 22). The convenience and location are the
reasons that traffickers seeking to get the illegal substance to America utilize this border.
With such a large border it has become impossible to physically man every mile, but one way to keep
a watchful eye on the activities is to employ un manned aerial vehicles (UAVs). UAVs have been
utilized by the Department of Defense for years and have the capability to cover more ground than an
actual on foot boarder patrol. These machines also will not put the actual patrol in danger during
observation missions.
The final type of travel

Ammc Air Domain Awareness
The Air and Marine Operations Center (AMOC) Phase B CONOPS, the AMOC Phase B ORD, and
the AMOC Phase B MNS all contain information detailing threats, capabilities, gaps, mission needs
and requirements. While there is no air domain awareness specific CONOPS, these documents have
several scenarios describing how resources at the AMOC are utilized to achieve Air Domain
Awareness. There is also a Tethered Aerostat Radar System Functional Requirements Document
(FRD).
Detection Enforcement Officers (DEOs) are responsible for maintaining 24/7 domain awareness of all
CONUS air traffic, and the air traffic within 100 nautical miles of U.S. borders. The Air and Marine
Operations Surveillance System (AMOSS), is the primary surveillance system ... Show more content

A typical scenario begins with the DEO performing surveillance operations an assigned area of
operations. Once a suspect aircraft has been identified, the DEO will begin tracking the aircraft.
He/She will query various data bases, attempting to determine the aircraft s identification. If the
aircraft is squawking, the DEO can query the flight plan (if available), as well as track the aircraft s
route of flight back to its origin, if possible. If the target detected is not squawking, cannot be
identified, or has been determined to be a questionable flight through the normal sorting process, the
DEO will continue tracking the aircraft until it reaches its destination. The DEO will contact the Air
Traffic Control Tower or the airport s Fixed Base Operations to determine the aircraft ID. If ATC or
the FBO can identify the aircraft, AMOC databases may provide amplifying information for the
aircraft registration (tail) number. Other methods of checking flight plans involve contacting a Flight
Service Station, an Approach Control or ARTCC, CBP Officers at an APOE, or the Air Defense
Sectors.
If the legitimacy of the tail number and/or determination of legality is unclear, such as an aircraft
crossing the land or sea border and not heading towards an APOE or the pilot not talking to ATC, the
DEO can initiate

America Needs the Patriot Act Essay example
Is the Patriot Act Unconstitutional? The Patriot Act was introduced in 2001 after the September 11
attacks. The Patriot Acts purpose is to deter and punish terrorist acts in the United States and around
the world. The Patriot Act Is meant to help stop terrorism by making it easier to get search warrants
for suspected terrorists. The purpose of the Patriot Act is to enable law enforcement officials to track
down and punish those responsible for the attacks on 9/11 and to protect against any similar attacks.
The Act grants the government the powers to trace and intercept terrorist communications both for law
enforcement and intelligence purposes. This means that the government can use wire taps, monitor
email traffic, confiscate ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Before the patriot act, intelligence agencies were not allowed to share information with each other
making it more likely for a terrorist attack to happen. People support it because they fear terror attacks
and say that they have nothing to hide. They believe that the Patriot act helps ruin terror plots and find
terrorists. (NPR)
The people that don t support the patriot act believe that it violates the first amendment rights, the
right to protection against unlawful discrimination, the right to due process, and the right to privacy.
The right to privacy is the freedom from unwarranted government intrusion into your private affairs.
The main reason that people don t support the patriot act is because of the violation of the right to
privacy from the government. (ACLU) They believe that the patriot act could lead to privacy
violations of anyone who comes into any form of contact with a terror suspect. Also, people that don t
support the act believe that unrestricted sharing of information between intelligence agencies leads to
the development of massive databases of citizens that are not suspects of terror. They also don t like
how the government can use sneak and peek search warrants for minor crimes and not just terrorism.
(NPR) They are also worried that the material support part of the act could lead to guilt by association
with terror suspects. They also don t like the fact that

  • 2. Opponent Of The Death Penalty Opponent of the Death Penalty Gradually, states are abolishing the death penalty, as it has little to no effect on people involved in dangerous crimes. Thirty nine states enforce the death penalty and nineteen states have abolished; Personal involvement with the horrible crime of murder renders the academic arguments for or against capital punishment (Polites). As many studies have shown, the death penalty also has little to no effect on the crime rate in the country. Many questions people answer address whether they are supporters or opponents of the death penalty and whether they believe it is effective to the US. Both these issues have been ongoing debates for many years. Contrary to some thoughts, life imprisonment without parole has had a bigger effect on inmates simply because they suffer from the feeling of guilt. The US benefits because the cost of the death penalty cost three times more than the cost expense of prison. One central thing about life imprisonment without parole is that they are in prison for the rest of their lives. According to Citizens United for Alternatives to the Death Penalty, it said, In certain cases, imprisonment should be for life, with no possibility of parole ever. For the rest of their lives, they have to live within the strict and unsatisfactory boundaries of prison without the possibility of freedom in the outside/ real world. This will forcibly remind the inmates of the crime they have committed and inherently reinforce a sense of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Federal Bureau Of Investigation And Its Legal Implications Federal Bureau of Investigation takes all cases of alleged terrorist activity seriously, and they thoroughly investigate each case. According to Roth (2014), instead of seeking solely to identify individuals who are actively engaged in criminal conduct, now agents also have deliberately sought to identify individuals who might be willing to aid acts of terrorism, even if they are not currently involved in such activities (p. 981). The vagueness of the term willing and its legal implications can hardly be exaggerated. Law enforcement professionals from the Federal Bureau of Investigation have developed sophisticated mechanisms to obtain valid evidence that a person or a group of people has the intention to act as terrorists. The use of confidential informants has become a gold standard in investigating these cases, but not all law enforcement professionals can meet the legal requirements and avoid the risks of entrapment. It is important, however, to ensure that your confidential informant has been thoroughly vetted so that their actions and integrity regarding the case cannot be called into questions and allegations validated regarding the evidence obtained as a result of their involvement. Recently, the case of the Inland Empire men accused of organizing a terrorist plot has become highlighted news in the United States (Hansen, 2014). For months, the Federal Bureau of Investigation was monitoring their activities with the active participation of a confidential ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Gaunilo s Ontological Argument One of the criticisms of the ontological argument is by the monk Gaunilo. Gaunilo tries to use the same concept of Anselm s argument to refute the claims he made. He tries to use the analogy of The Perfect Island . (1) A perfect island is an island after which nothing greater exist. (2)The perfect island exists in the mind. (3)The perfect islands exist in the mind and not in reality and can be conceived to exist. (4)To exist is better than not exist. Therefore, the perfect islands exist. Paragraph 1:Caligraphy Irregularity Each Japanese Calligrapher reveals a part of their soul through each unique stroke. Each tool has one simple job, however, no brush or paper is made the same as well as the artists who use them. In Hannah s pecha kucha, she explains the beginning of the process of calligraphy. Hannah mentions the importance of the brushes in calligraphy and their connection to simplicity. She analyzes, Furthermore, no two artists are the same. Each one possesses his or hers own preference and style; some brushes are incredibly elegant with family names inscribed on the handles. Well others appear as if they were made from a stick of bamboo. Ultimately it does not matter how expensive a tool may be but rather what can be accomplished with that tool. The calligrapher s brush manifests the artist him or herself. Whether the artist wishes to have elegant brushes or simple bamboo brushes, they all have one simple job, to write. The beauty of the brush does not matter, but rather the work done with the brush. The work created with the tool rather than their supplies reveal how the Japanese value humility as well as the simplicity of the work. A simple movement of the brush on the paper creates a peaceful state of mind for the artists. It is a feeling of simple joy when the brush moves along the hand made paper. • 6. Essay On Annexation Of Hawaii Occupation or Annexation? A dispute has come up between the United States and the tropical islands of Hawaii. Is Hawaii legally a state of the United States of America? In this paper I will show that Hawaii is not a legal state of the United States of America. This argument or dispute dates back to the last Monarch of the Hawaiian Kingdom. That was Queen Lydia Liliuokalani who would not take the throne unless the Bayonet Constitution who her brother, David Kalakaua, was forced to sign was changed. She then took the throne in 1891 and was later put under house arrest for several months. On January 17, 1893 Queen Lydia Liliuokalani was overthrown and the Hawaiian Kingdom was no more. When Pollock was 8, his father, who was an abusive alcoholic, left the family, and Pollock s older brother, Charles, became like a father to him. • 12. The Reaction Of Zinc And Iron Discussion: As only 2 balloons expanded in size, the results did not provide solid evidence to completely support the hypothesis of the practical. Having said that, the magnesium reaction time clarified its high metal reactivity as it expanded to its optimal circumference in the 30 seconds provided. Similarly, copper did not react at all as expected due to its low metal reactivity. However, between the maximum and minimum metals, in terms of reactivity, aluminium, zinc and iron showed no sign of expansion in the 30 second observational time limits. Nevertheless, the aluminium balloon expanded after approximately 40 minutes. As neither zinc nor iron reacted in this time span, it was confirmed that aluminium had the second highest metal reactivity, as anticipated from the hypothesis. After the first, second and last metals in the metal reactivity series were established, the remainder had to be observed for their chemical reactions to make a valid conclusion under the time constraint provided. From the observations between zinc and iron, it was perceived that zinc was more reactive due to which more bubbles and gas had formed in the test tube containing acid as opposed to iron where only occasional bubbles had developed. The metal reactivity series was confirmed from the balloon expansions and the chemical changes that occurred. This experiment was designed on the basis of previously obtained knowledge of metals and their reactivity with acids. It is known that when metals ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

People are conscious of an absolute moral law 3. People acknowledge the demands that this law makes on them even if they break it 4. No finite mind grasps the whole of what this represents 5. Here Bradbury manages to form a connection between the children and the rain through his imagery. The children have known rain all of their lives, causing them to become closely associated with one another. The more they experienced rain, the less they liked it. Contrastingly, they did not know Margot very well but still did not favor her. Throughout the play we only see Viola in her disguise as Cesario . From Act 1, Scene 2, we see her planning on using the disguise of a man to serve Orsino. The interactions between her and the other characters show dramatic irony as they do not realise who Cesario actually is, however the audience does. Orsino, at the start of Act 2, scene 4 says Now good morrow, friends; Now, good Cesario. This is when Portia and Nerissa disguise themselves as men, specifically a lawyer and a clerk, as a way to save Antonio. This links into the way Viola uses an inner disguise to shield her real personality, she first goes into her disguise at the docks in Act 1, scene 2 when she says to the Captain Conceal me what I am, and be my aid. For such disguise as haply shall become the form of my intent. This shows how she is covering up what I am [she is] a woman, by the personality and physical disguise of a man. From this point onwards there is comedy due to the fact that she is disguised as a man and is fooling every other character, with the audience knowing all about this. This also shows that Shakespeare respects the audience enough to not have them fooled by Viola s disguise ;and he shows more sexual equality, as Viola plays a major part in the story and without her the play would have a lot less comedy. The structure of the play relies mostly on her actions, for example there would have been no love triangle without her and all the other characters would not have been deceived by her. Therefore, there would be no dramatic irony to create amusement. So, the dramatic irony of Viola s disguise makes characters seem ignorant and ridiculous creating comedy, but also through the audience s knowledge of Viola s true identity. An example of patience would be my trip to Disney World when I was seven years old. When my parents sprung the surprise that we would be going to Disney World, the trip itself was still a month and a half out. That month and a half was the longest of my entire life. I was so excited and it seemed so far away. Finally the day came and I woke up a ball of sunshine, Everyone wake up! It s Disney day, it s Disney day! We packed our bags frantically figuring out what was important to bring and what was not, and then we drove to the airport with the anticipation buzzing in the air. Although these are great stories, only one of the finalists can be better. The stories Clowning Around and All the Different Kinds of Rats are the same in the sense that they have similar messages. These two pieces of literature have their respective similarities and differences, but the big topic here is a problem. Firstly, the similarities between the two pieces. Passages like The people then started to divide themselves or What set them apart was mostly age, which they were able to overcome show how important unity can be, or how weak a lack of cooperation is. ... Types Of Portfolio Management Under certain conditions, however, the possibility of unexpected concentration among some industries may exist, especially in the period of irrational exuberance and overestimated valuations. In the 1990s, for example, the upsurge in investing in technology companies resulted in a market bubble. The technology firms concentrated extremely high on the stock index. Accordingly, investors were putting at a high risk for the reason that these overvalued companies were given ownership which was out of proportion by the stocks bought by passive market funds. Furthermore, the weights of 10 stocks in the active portfolio are more balanced than the passive portfolio. Therefore, the investors who pursue high expected market return should choose passive portfolio and risk averse investors should choose active portfolio. The investors should consider transaction fees and management fees of active portfolio and investors can insist on choosing active portfolio if they believe they can have higher return that offset these fees. In conclusion, the active investing is more flexible than passive investing because active investing does not have to follow a specific index like S P 500. • 29. Bedrock River If a river flows over bedrock, the bedrock restricts widening and lateral mobility which can distort the shape of the bends in the river (Hooke and Yorke 2011). Substrate influences channel form at the reach scale, with bedrock channel found to be narrower and deeper than alluvial channels (Whitbread et al. 2015). This means that the substrate the river is flowing over does have an effect on what the river is doing. The bedrock restricts widening and lateral mobility, which limits how fast the river can meander. If the river is flowing over a substrate that is easily erodible, and then if it erodes down to bedrock the river will become less sinuous. Meandering rivers are not common in bedrock channels because bedrock channels are narrower and deeper than alluvial channels (Whitbread et al. 2015). The alluvial channels allow the river channel to become wide and therefore the river is able to meander because its channel is so wide. Changing the type of bedrock can influence the width and depth of the river (Whitbread et al. 2015). The maximum width/depth ratio decreases with increasing fracture spacing (Whitbread et al. 2015). This is because the fractures create a weak spot in the rock that allows the river to erode into those fractures. Adding ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Discuss I agree with what the chapter suggests. In my opinion, leadership does have a moral dimension and as a leader, comes a responsibility that he or she uses their authority to advance the common good. I believe, that as a leader, there is an obligation to uphold our moral values and not use their authority for aggression, power, or getting ahead. In addition, leaders not only need to be effective but also must accept the moral dimension of leadership and as a leader; he or she becomes a role model for the community, employees, and all of the stakeholders. • 43. A Reflection Of Human Setting In Into The Wild And The... Novels and storybooks comprise a reflection of human character and individuals in the society. They are a mirror through which the audience is able to infer lessons which promote their sustainability in life. Similarly, films are a reflection of a particular viewpoint in the society. Conversely, the film Into the Wild and the novel Tracks offer insight on an element of human life. They explore the human setting and collectively conclude that we should all try to escape society. Principally, based on the premises set forth by the film and the novel, it is our inherent responsibility to isolate ourselves from those who are around us. To begin, the theme of isolation comprises a pervasive element in both the novel and the film. Isolation refers to the distancing of oneself from their communities or peers. In In to the Wild the main character, Christopher, commits himself to a journey through the isolated wild (Penn 2007). He renounces his previous affiliations and sets out into the wild with nothing but a journal on existence in the wild. In the journal, he views himself as a heroic loner and thus contends: You can do anything. You can go anywhere. Money, power is an illusion. It s up here. You can be here. Me and You (Penn 2007). His commitment to the wild is predicated on the feelings of freedom that were triggered upon his access into the wild. Equally, the novel Tracks captures the story of Robyn Davidson who leaves the comfort of her town in the pursuit of camels in the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 44. Description Of 3-D Finfet Systems The figure 1 gives a brief description of the 3 D FinFET structures which have been simulated. According to the International Technology Roadmap for Semiconductors (ITRS), The gate length (Lgate) is 15 nm, which corresponds to the 7/8 nm technology having 0.64 nm as gate oxide thickness. The height (HSi) and width of fin (WSi) are 40nm and 8nm respectively whereas the the fin pitch is 30 nm and the fin aspect ratio is 5 which are taken from the characteristics of Intel 22 nm [1] and 14 nm FinFET technology [7]. The gate work function has been assumed to be tunably achieve an OFF state leakage current (IOFF) of up to 30 pA/μm which has been consistent with TSMC s 16 nm FinFET technology [8] which primarily was used for low power ... The fin sidewall surfaces along which the transistor current flows were assumed to be {110} crystallographic planes, with transistor current flow in a ⟨110⟩ direction. To boost transistor ON state current, 2 GPa (tensile) uniaxial stress has been introduced in the fin channel region for nFETs, whereas −2 GPa (compressive) uniaxial stress was introduced in the fin channel region for pFETs. The effective channel length (Leff) and the peak location of the PTS doping profile (Xdepth) for the SSR FinFETs have been optimized individually such that to ensure the ON state drive current Id, sat is maximized, whereas maintaining the OFF state current specification at (IOFF = 30 pA/μm). The Table II provides an overview of the important performance parameters for the given FinFET devices which have been optimized. Using the constant current criterion of 100 nA×(Weff/Lgate), the threshold voltage, Vt, has been used. For operating voltage VDD = 0.80 V (consistent with ITRS 2013 specifications for the 7/8 nm low power technology node [6]), SSR FinFET provides for 3.6% and 3.8% improvement in Id,sat for nFETs and pFETs, respectively. The benefit of higher carrier mobility is greater for operation in the linear regime (Vgs = 0.8 V and Vds = 50 mV): SSR FinFET provides for 6.7% and 6% improvement ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 45. Compare And Contrast A Streetcar Named Desire Movie And Movie Elia Kazan s film, A Streetcar Named Desire (1951) was adapted from the play originally written by Tennessee Williams. This film won multiple Oscars and countless other awards that prove it to be an extremely impressive work for its time. The setting of this film sets the stage, the themes and symbolism add interest, and the characterization only enhances an already impressive work. These elements and many more are what make up this incredible film. This film is set in the 1940 s in the bustling city of New Orleans. A majority of the scenes take place within the walls of the Kowalski s two room home. The size of the home is something that Blanche comments on right away and it adds tension to many scenes throughout the film. The constant quarrelling between the characters often make the house feel even smaller than it is. It offered little privacy, with only a curtain to divide the rooms, and the characters often went back and forth between the rooms quickly, sometimes several times in one scene. The setting is much like one that would be used for a play. It was very two dimensional and only offered a straight on view. The upstairs home that belonged to Steve and Eunice played an important role at two specific points in the movie. Though it was directly above the Kowalski s, it often goes without mention. When it was acknowledged, it was often used as a shelter. Stella and Blanche ran up the stairs after the fight in the poker game scene, and though Stella returned downstairs ... This type of business gives the highest return of dollars spent, but is one of the hardest products to ship. There are many techniques that have been used throughout the years in order to try and get the illegal substances into the United States, which leads to the government s response to counter the illegal transshipments. Although the War on Drugs appears to be a futile effort, there are many ways to tighten down on the drug traffickers and successfully put them out of business utilizing government tactics and education. This will force parents to take a more active interest into their children s activities. Many other types of methods are utilized on the ground to transport drugs into the United States through the borders. Although every road that leads into America s soil has a port of entry and checkpoints, there are still traffickers that attempt to get pass the security and get the product to the destination. The majority of these traffickers are female and not all of them are caught. The most common method used to transport on the ground is in an automobile with the hopes that the border guard will not inspect the vehicle. The Mexican border has become a conduit for illegal transportation into the United States from South America (Clawson, 22). The convenience and location are the reasons that traffickers seeking to get the illegal substance to America utilize this border. With such a large border it has become impossible to physically man every mile, but one way to keep a watchful eye on the activities is to employ un manned aerial vehicles (UAVs). UAVs have been utilized by the Department of Defense for years and have the capability to cover more ground than an actual on foot boarder patrol. These machines also will not put the actual patrol in danger during observation missions. The final type of travel ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

If the target detected is not squawking, cannot be identified, or has been determined to be a questionable flight through the normal sorting process, the DEO will continue tracking the aircraft until it reaches its destination. The DEO will contact the Air Traffic Control Tower or the airport s Fixed Base Operations to determine the aircraft ID. If ATC or the FBO can identify the aircraft, AMOC databases may provide amplifying information for the aircraft registration (tail) number. Other methods of checking flight plans involve contacting a Flight Service Station, an Approach Control or ARTCC, CBP Officers at an APOE, or the Air Defense Sectors.
